Ocho's favorite said, you know, hey, stay with me now.
Starting point is 00:05:39 And a few others. The link is pinned at the top of the chat. Ocho, the game was very, very exciting. The Falcons come back. Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa. The game was very exciting. They know the game was very lackluster the first, second and third quarter. The game didn't become exciting until it got to the four.
Starting point is 00:05:58 But go ahead and let's finish, baby. The Falcons beat the Eagles 2221. Drake London touchdown puts Atlanta ahead late. Atlanta won an absolute stunner of a ball game. We thought it was over. CJ Gardner Johnson makes an unbelievable stop. Obijon Robinson stops him in the hole and he says, you know what?
Starting point is 00:06:16 Nah, don't even worry about it. Falcons says, okay, we gonna keep y'all out of the end zone. They get the ball back, go right back down the field. Eagles fans, now last week when y'all went on Green Bay, y'all was in Brazil and y'all out of the end zone. They get the ball back, go right back down the field. Eagles fans. Yeah. Last week, when y'all went on Green Bay, y'all was in Brazil and y'all won. I said, oh, Joe, I'm still I'm not sold on that defense. I say, I see some things I don't like, Joe. I'm not. Oh, hey, you hate the game. Go meet Ryan. Oh, meet Ryan.
Starting point is 00:06:42 You'll see what y'all fail to realize is Ocho and I have two and a half decades of what playing the game. Yes. Breaking the games down, watching the games. The difference between Ocho and I and most people that do what I do. You watch the game. Yay.
Starting point is 00:06:57 They scored a touchdown. Yay. They got a sack. My job is to go deeper. I need to know why they scored. I need to know how they got that sack. So when I come up here and I sit before you, I can give you things.
Starting point is 00:07:09 I don't got no dog in the fight. I don't have no anybody on the eagle side. Raheem Morris came by, he was great. Sot down on when we go on the tour, Ocho, gave us 15 minutes of his time. Greatly appreciate that. I know Arthur Blank a little bit. Yes, I have his number.
Starting point is 00:07:23 I'm cool with Mr. Blank. I don't bother that man. I don't ask him for tickets, but he just thought it'd be good. Uh, we used to go to the same gym, used to train with the same Pilates teacher. So I just throw that out there. But Oh Joe, when I watched it, I said, Oh Joe, yeah, I ain't sold on the Eagles defense. I told you that last week. I said, I'm not sold. Oh Joe. I say, because that back end, it scares me and they can't consistently generate pressure they let us on the Hassan ready go rich retired Brandon Graham is good but he's getting a little long in the tooth I see Ocho they're
Starting point is 00:07:53 not consistently generating pressure and you can run on them whoa whoa shadow stop hating you starting off the season hating already yeah hey Eagle playing what do I got to say about now? You want to talk about anything? Yeah. But see, we got to once I'm not sure what they need to do, what adjustments they need to make with Jordan Davis. I mean, you were Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter up there with those behemoths of a man of young men.
Starting point is 00:08:19 There should be constant pressure at every time. Actually, nobody based on what they have at the front line should really be able to run the goddamn ball. Nope. Just thinking about those two right there, clogging up the middle, it shouldn't be nobody running the ball, at all. But for some reason,
Starting point is 00:08:37 B. John Robinson is also a special back as well. He's a special back. But thinking about the game, to me, obviously, it was boring. If you watch the first in the second quarter, it was a snooze fest. It was a snooze fest. It did not get exciting until the end of the game, which always happens and low scoring game for some reason like this.
Starting point is 00:08:55 It gets great at the end. Now, the game was sealed and deal and done. If Saquon could have caught that ball, it got in that first down. Then you could have run the clock out because you already, you picked up the first just run the ball. Oh Joe, you know, 40 seconds. Going to go off the clock. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 00:09:13 If they ran the ball, they were anticipating to run. That's why the swing pass was wide open in the flat. That's what it was. It's great. If we make it, guess what? I run the ball and I'm going gonna run it all the way down. I'm gonna take me a timeout. I'm gonna take 40 seconds off the clock.
Starting point is 00:09:28 How about you with time? So that's the minute. Hold on, huh? But you gotta think about it. In that situation, in that scenario, based on down the distance, the time of the game in the fourth quarter, what is the Atlanta Falcons expecting?
Starting point is 00:09:41 They expecting them to hand the ball off to Saquon. That's why I thought the play call, the play call was beautiful to me. And we just off to Saquon. That's why I thought the play called the play call was beautiful to me. And we just need a Saquon. I'm talking about we. I'm talking about we. He could have called the ball. Yeah. Yeah. As the Eagle fan. Oh, it was a great, it was a great, it was a great play call. Cause yeah, you're right. I'm going to play, you're going to run it.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Yeah. I'm thinking just like you. Oh, y'all running this ball. Ain't no way y'all will let Jayler Hurst go with ball. Play action. Roll out. Saquon wide open. He over eat and drop it boom. Hold on. Wait, wait a minute now. We still got time The Falcons come out They get the ball back and drive the length of the field. Hold on. We plan to we plan to share we plan to act I don't know what the safety is doing that the corner out the darn air Mooney the first corner out the darn em I don't know what the safety is doing.
Starting point is 00:10:23 The corner out the darn their moon, the first corner out the darn them. Why the safety all the way back there like it's got their party turn? Because he worked. He worried about that double move to the post. Even still, in that situation, you know, they got to throw the ball short. Boomer, if you're into. Your antennas got to go up. Let's say it was Ed Reed back there.
Starting point is 00:10:42 What do you think Ed Reed doing? But here's the thing, Ojo. Listen, he gonna bait you and he driving on the corner because he noticed what you running based on throwing their Mooney's alignment. I know the quarter route coming. Let me tell you why you playing cover two. You can't get no pressure.
Starting point is 00:10:59 You better not go single high safety and you ain't got but what? You touched Kirk Cousins one time. Yeah. Think about what he did. What was Kirk Cousins doing with the in the pocket on that last drive? Patting the goddamn ball. I wonder what my kids I wonder if my wife didn't put the kids to bed. Damn I wonder what my mom doing.
Starting point is 00:11:16 Man that's a beautiful night in Philly. Damn he doing all that. Somebody somebody somebody got to feel a void huh. They let Hassan Reddit go. He led him in sacks last year. Yes. So somebody got to pick up the slack. Up the middle, Jaylen Carter, Jordan Davis, baby y'all got to come to the party now. They got to get in shape. You got to come to in shape. I mean they can't run with two plays. Jordan Davis run two plays and come out. You think you don't think they in shape? No hell no. Why you running two plays and come out the ballgame?
Starting point is 00:11:45 Well, you know, I mean when it comes to the interior most of the time most teams they um, how do you call it? They they they sweet nice rotate. Yeah They stay fresh Ain't nothing joker got no pressure Fresh I need some dogs. Hey go hunt Yeah I need some dogs. Hey, go hunt. Yeah. Okay. You fresh, you fresh. It ain't get no precious. Okay. So what the hell am I doing? I see you going with it. I see you going with it. Okay. You can say, well, they're trying to generate pressure. They can't stop the run.
Starting point is 00:12:17 You got to be able to do something. You're going to let the team, you're going to let the team do whatever the F they want. They run the ball. They throw the ball. I mean, so what? What? You got to stop something. Oh, Joe, you can't give a team. And the only thing is that I mean, Kirk Cousins was 20 and 29 to 41 to touchdowns one sack, no pick, no turnovers, which was clean. Twenty eight rushes, 152 yards. Come on, Joe. Yeah, yeah, you're right. And the Eagles had a shot at the end of the game, even though they got the ball. It was just a few seconds left on the clock.
Starting point is 00:12:48 A.J. Turrell, when Devante ran that, he tried to run that corner. They actually they were playing too man to do because A.J. Turrell followed him all the way out. He gave him a slight push, a slight push. That little nudge, A.J. Turrell, when Devante Smith tried to break to the left. Yeah. He lost his balance a tad bit. I think he would have tried to break to the left yeah he lost his balance a tad bit i think he would have got to that ball when he when he lost his back to tad bit jesse basses break on it and it was it was of course i'll play 22 man where the hell is cousin's going i'm absolutely i'm playing cover five yeah which is three under two Absolutely, he ain't going nowhere. He took, Troy said during the game,
Starting point is 00:13:27 Kurt said he's not 100%. Oh yeah, absolutely not. Not coming off Achilles injury? Nah, you, nah, uh-uh. Definitely not. And they still couldn't, and they still couldn't bob him. They still couldn't get consistent pressure. At least make him uncomfortable back there.
Starting point is 00:13:40 Oh, they got a big fan, Geo, big fan. I don't care who your DC is. If you don't get,, it ain't X's and O's, it's Jim's and Joe's. That's what make offenses go. That's what make defenses go because Andy Reid ran that same offense when he had Donovan McNabb and he had Alex Smith. And you tell me it looked like it did when he had Patrick Mahomes. That's the same offense. They call the same thing.
Starting point is 00:14:04 Do it look the same offense. They call the same thing. Do it look the same to you? Absolutely not. So this notion that a individual, a DC or OC is gonna make that, nah, you better have them dolls. Aaron Donald is gonna be Aaron Donald no matter who his DC is. He's had a number of defensive coordinators
Starting point is 00:14:22 and he's one defensive player of the year with all of them. Yeah. It's him. So Vic Banjo and he's unbelievable. But when you look at him, what he had in San Francisco, when he had them two dogs, them thumpers, he had Patrick Willis and Navarro Bowman. Yeah. And he had Vic Justin Smith. Now you look at that defense they had in the 49ers when Jim Hart, when Jim Harbaugh was there.
Starting point is 00:14:45 Yeah. And you go look at what he had in feeling. Yeah. Now you tell me the difference. Yeah, you know, I think they have to have thumpers. You got to come down here. He wants to play in his heart of hearts. He wants to play cover to he believes he can stop the run with his front seven.
Starting point is 00:15:02 And if you got dogs, you can't. Yeah. But if you don't, you got to invert that safety, drop him down, but you compromise your edges. Yeah. I still don't know to this day, what the hell is Darius Slade? Slade, bro, I love you. But you know, you know, you know what he was doing that. And let's get before the game winning touchdown, but that too, but as a former
Starting point is 00:15:23 DB, you look at what he's doing Like he he knows he knows what he did wrong. What was the first thing they take as a DB um, keep your eyes well Out the what? Backfield you guys out the backfield Keep that cuz if you got your eyes on the quarterback waiting on on the ball to be thrown Then you don't know where you got their receiver going going because he looking he trying to clue you see what he's trying to do outro he's trying to he looking at this and all he did was do out he was saying he was finna jump he was finna jump yes but and you know it's funny you can't guess in that situation
Starting point is 00:15:54 no i messed up too i kind of i i jinxed eagles a little bit right when i when the series was coming i said you know what's gonna happen i say dar Darius Slade is finna get an interception cause I know he gonna sit on something. He gonna sit on something based on the scenario, based on the circumstance, the ball has to come out cause they don't have that much time. Ocho, if the ball doesn't have, Ocho, it doesn't have to come out quick
Starting point is 00:16:19 because you can't get pressure. Yeah. Why would you do, that's what you do if you can generate pressure. Pressure, yeah. You can't do that if you can't get no pressure. You ain't no pressure. Why would you do that? That's what you do if you can generate pressure. You can't do that if you can't get no pressure. You ain't no way you can guess like that, Ocho. With no pressure. You gotta play honest, huh? Yes.
Starting point is 00:16:36 Yes. If you come into a situation and they come with bomb bliss and you see the DC on the sideline and he doing this saying blow it up. Okay, now I can take a chance. The ball gotta come because we got everybody hitting every hole. We got A, B, C, D. Everybody's coming. Hey, I gotta take a chance. I don't know exactly. He can run a slant. He can run a fade, but I'm gonna take my chance. I'm playing inside leverage. take my chance, I'm playing inside leverage. Oh, as a matter of fact. You playing off, and y'all playing base,
Starting point is 00:17:08 and y'all playing straight up D, ain't no way you can guess like that. No way in hell. When I think about it too, what you talking about, about taking chances, CJ Gardner Johnson on that touchdown to Darnale Mooney, that ball was supposed to come out. It was supposed to come out on timing
Starting point is 00:17:25 because there was a blitz. Yes. But Kirk, instead of drilling it, instead of drilling the ball, He loathed it up. That's why he was able to catch that and get away from it to get that touchdown. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:38 He did what he was supposed to do, understanding the ball had to come out fast. It just so happened, Kirk loathed the ball up instead of drilling it so he couldn't really make a play on the ball. And he was out of position because he actually sat. Oh, Joe, man, law. He met lofted the ball up. Law for my bad. What I said, I said, floating low. Oh, low. Oh, my bad. My bad.
Starting point is 00:18:01 It was a good game once the fourth quarter came outside in the fourth quarter. Yeah. Oh Joe, but you got to understand, man. Man, we can't get no. Oh, Joe, if your D line can't get pressure, you can't gamble. Yeah, you cannot. It's too risky. And the reward. OK, you PBI. OK, in that situation, this is what you got to think. This isn't the first quarter. A touchdown here is probably going to get you beat. Okay. You PBI. Okay. In that situation, this is what you got to think. This isn't
Starting point is 00:18:26 the first quarter. A touchdown here is probably going to get you beat. Right. That's what you have to. And that's what you have to look at when I'm talking about Will Levis. Okay. Let's just say for the sake of argument, you complete that pass for two yards, you get a two yard game. What's the worst thing can happen? Pick six. You gotta weigh it. Okay, two yards, pick six, two yard, pick six. They don't average up, Ocho. Yeah, you right.
Starting point is 00:18:54 In that situation, Slay, you can't take that chance. Your defense hasn't gotten consistent pressure all night. Why would you risk it in that situation? That's all I'm asking. I'm not look, hey, you win, you lose. And he's made some plays. All I'm saying in that situation, why would you take that chance and keep your eyes in the backfield?
Starting point is 00:19:15 The danger isn't cousins. It's the guy that you're guarding. Yeah. Yeah. We're just days away from our 2024 iHeart Yeah. Damn. on Hulu. The iHeartRadio Music Festival. He gave a slight nod and the next thing you know, boom, boom. So if man, you know how bad hurt? How much it hurts to lose a game in the waning seconds? Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Oh yeah. Well, hold on. How much hurt? Forget the waning seconds. Seconds. Seconds. Well, hold on. How much you hurt? Forget the Wayne and sections, sections, seconds. The game was actually over. Listen, the game of football is all about moments. It's about one, two, or maybe three plays. I said, I said it last night, one, two, maybe three plays out of the 70 you run that changed the directory of a game. Yeah. And that one play to Saquon where I'm assuming the defense, you know, they
Starting point is 00:24:25 thought they was running it. Of course. They actually rolled out, say Kwon wide open. He just, he ain't looking all the way in. You got to look at it. It changed everything. And see in a situation like that, Ocho, I'm catching it and I'm going to the ground because I know you ain't got no more time out. I'm out. So that's the only thing. The only thing I care because even if I don't all I want to do, all I want to do, Ocho, is just catch the ball. Yeah, I'm it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter by anything else in that situation. In that situation, you just have to understand.
Starting point is 00:24:58 Remember how we say situational football? Yeah. Office and defensive players. That's where you come in in a situation like this, man. Damn, I want to jump something so bad. Boy, if I miss on this situation, it's probably going to cost us the game. Yeah. Plus, we really got pressure all night long. Now, can't take that chance. And speaking of speaking of IQ, though,
Starting point is 00:25:21 this this is the difference between the great the great safeties. I'm just think I'm going back to my day and I keep mentioning Ed Reed, because I understand how you played the game based on situation and circumstance and IQ and knowing that the ball has to come out at some point, because you've got to drive the length of the field for one. And the chance of you taking a shot in that situation is slim to none, even though they can get pressure when they were in that two shell, when they were in that two shell and Darnell Mooney had that tight split outside, add to the numbers.
Starting point is 00:25:51 There's only one thing he's going to do. He's running that goddamn corner route. At that say, I'm not sure who the safety was. I don't know his name. He was either number 32 or 22. Hold on. Blankenship. I'm just saying if it was me, I'm not a safety. I'm just understanding the game and the situation that is at hand. The corner route is coming.
Starting point is 00:26:16 I'm going to sit and I'm going to get that. Either I'm going to knock it down or I'm going to get an interception. But here's the thing. get that either I'm gonna knock it down or I'm gonna get an interception because but here's the thing I see you do that oh Joe mm-hmm you know what I'm gonna do what I'm gonna shake right I'm gonna shake rocket yeah I will hit that corner I will get that nod and I'm gonna hit the post on it and then what it is and everybody will look at you, say, but, bro, you in cover, too. What you doing?
Starting point is 00:26:48 I'm just saying, I'm just saying that I'm I'm I'm I'm a big hero. I'm OK, OK. We I'm just you know, it's funny is I'm watching the plays like I think I think I could be in the booth. You know how you watch Tony Romo sometime yeah I'm gonna tell you what play is gonna happen before the play even got this call based on the distance they have time and base formation yes you can call it out because from team to team it really doesn't change what you're gonna do because everybody's tendencies is damn near the same. The only thing that's different is the formation you running.
Starting point is 00:27:28 So I'm like, you know what? Here you go. Here you go, he got the goddamn corner. There's only so much you could do out of that goddamn split. Here it come. Long behold, the goddamn safety. They run it too. They try to protect the deep ball,
Starting point is 00:27:42 but you're back there too goddamn far to make a play on the fucking ball. You're back there like you're in the park. You're returning. But here's the thing. Oh, you're in a situation like that. Nothing cheap, nothing deep. You keep everything in front of you. That's I mean, but then you drive and you remember what happened. You remember when Joe Flacco, you remember the AFC divisional game against the Broncos. Oh, you're Colby Jones. Rest your soul on the right side of the field.
Starting point is 00:28:05 Yeah, yeah, yeah. You see what it cover too. Hold on that. And that safety took a goddamn bad ass angle on that ball. He wasn't supposed to take no angle. He's supposed to be back there to knock it down. It wasn't supposed to be no angle to take. Right, right, right.
Starting point is 00:28:19 If I'm deep enough, how I'm gonna take an angle? My angle's supposed to be forward. Because what happened is that once he got over here, he saw the ball and he painted and he jumped too quick. Yeah. Because he he should have never been there anyway. What do you flat footed you as deep as the deepest? If that dude run out the state of if he's in Golden, you'd be in Golden, Colorado with it.
Starting point is 00:28:39 Yeah. In that situation, nothing cheap, nothing deep. Yeah. I mean, the Eagles, I've had this concern. Hopefully the Eagles now like man, we know what the hell are we talking about. People say I talk a lot, but they don't say I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. Right. All you gotta do is like I said, I got I got too many years invested in studying the game. That's why I watched the game with no sounds. Troy, Romo, Brady, or Olson.
Starting point is 00:29:09 Nobody can offer me anything that I don't know. I know what I'm looking for, not what they're going to tell me to look for. What to see. There's a difference. And so that's why it's hard for me to hear the sound because they'd like. Go to the game because what should they do here? What are they going to run here? What happened?
Starting point is 00:29:29 Oh, damn. I'm trying to, I'm trying to concentrate on what happened, but that's the thing. Oh Joe, if you watch the game and it started when, you know, when you got to game tape, ain't no taping, ain't no, ain't no sound to film. Right now. Occasionally they would, uh, I would watch the sound because I was listening for calls to see if I could hear a call if they said Reno, if they said Dallas, they said Texas, they had certain calls, calls with coverages.
Starting point is 00:29:56 Right. I'm listening, so I'm going to hear I'm looking at. But man, the Falcons, that the Eagles like, oh, man, we got this one. No, you don't. I thought they had thought they had it, too. I thought they had it. I would get listen to the whole fourth quarter. I'm guessing right. I'm calling the plays out.
Starting point is 00:30:16 I'm tweeting the plays out. I'm saying what's going to happen on each drive. And lo and behold, damn, it's all good though. He was going to be all right. They're going to be all right. It all depends on how soon AJ, did Brown come back?
Starting point is 00:30:31 Yeah. They were missing him, but Ocho, they still got issues with their defense. Oh, AJ can't pressure the quarterback. AJ can't deflect defense, pass breakup football. Yeah. AJ can't pressure the quarterback. AJ can't deflect defense, pass, break up football. AJ can't stop the run. That's one side of the ball. You still have issues on the other side.
Starting point is 00:30:53 When are you going to get that corrected? You know, I think in the secondary, I think they scrape. Now, what they do need, they do need to be able to generate some pressure up front. Jaylen Carter, got them Jordan Davis, what's the other day? Hey, Brandon, Brandon.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Where? Yeah. Hey, Brandon, it's Brandon Ingram, right? Yeah, Brandon Graham, Brandon Graham, Brandon Graham. But hey, you know what? I I like the Eagles for the simple fact I know the secondary they gonna be straight with Maddox CJ Gardner Johnson back there and that young motherfucker from Toledo What was his last name? No, you're the young corner. Yeah. Hey boy young boy. Nice. Mitchell Quinn Mitchell
Starting point is 00:31:42 You said Quinn Mitchell, yeah,, hey that young boy nice boy. Yeah, you gotta take some lumps. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You gotta take, Ojo you know, hey, it ain't but a few that's come in as a true rookie and not taking no lumps. You gotta take some now. Yeah, most definitely. Listen, he took a lump tonight. There was a play he tried to try to make a nice play on Darn Hell Moony. He got away from a lump tonight. There was a play, he tried to make a nice play on Darn Hell Moony, he got away from him a little bit. He was a tad bit late, but that's what they say. It's a game of inches now.
Starting point is 00:32:13 It's a game of inches. Now when he's back in that scenario again, under those circumstances, with a team driving down the score to win a game, he know what to do next time. He know what to do next time. He's nice. Yeah, nice.
Starting point is 00:32:27 He real nice. I mean, listen, the Eagles gonna be all right. They gonna be all right. You sure about that? Oh yeah, I'm telling you. I'm telling you. I ain't telling you what I heard. I'm not telling you what I heard.
Starting point is 00:32:38 I'm telling you what I know. You told me that last year. I did? Yes. Oh, when they were 10 and one, they ate. Yeah, you like, uh, uh, but they tell us that, oh, Joe. Now let me tell you why. You change the light on. Now I keep telling you, oh, Joe, you need to get that car in there.
Starting point is 00:32:52 I hear, I hear it ticking a little bit. Right. Uh, hey. Can I, can I tell you why they fell apart last year? Why? Now the defensive coordinator last year for the Eagles and some of the plays he was calling didn't sit well with some of the players on the field.
Starting point is 00:33:10 It just didn't work well for them. So there was a disconnect. And you know what happened when there's a disconnect? That mean the wifi, the wifi ain't good. You know, so the signal be bad. So the signal between the defensive coordinator and the players on the field, it wasn't going hand in hand. I also think Ocho is a situation where them guys weren't trying to tackle last year, man. That guy's in the second day. We're doing no chat.
Starting point is 00:33:36 They're like, Oh, the bear. It looks like, Oh Joe, you ever see situations? Oh man. You know, somebody else go make the plate. No, you go make the plate oh man, you know, somebody else gonna make the play. No, you gonna make the play. I ain't counting on somebody else to make a play. I'm gonna make it. I can't wait on, man, Ocho gonna make a play, so I ain't gonna run hard.
Starting point is 00:33:52 I know he gonna throw the ball. Nah, hell nah. I ain't counting on Ocho to make every play. If Ocho make it play, so be it. But just in case, let me be ready. Yeah. And that's how guys need to play. But congratulations to the Atlanta Falcons. They go on the road on a Monday night and beat the
Starting point is 00:34:11 Philadelphia Eagles 22 21 Kirk cousins go a perfect on the game winning drive. Jake London catches it and they hold off the Eagles. What? Yeah, hold off the Eagles 22 21. They intercept Jalen hurt late in the ballgame to preserve the victory and the Falcons go to one in one on the season. Bryce Young era. That's a that's been halted. Dave Canales decided to bench Bryce Young less than 24 hours after telling everyone he start next week.
Starting point is 00:34:42 The Reds rifle Andy Dalton is being named the team starter quarterback moving forward this season. Young was reportedly shocked by the bench and told, and sources told Jordan Schultz it came out of nowhere. Nah, actually it didn't. If you go back and look at your plate, look at them. They didn't come out of nowhere. No one anticipated the plug being pulled after just two games with a new coaching staff,
Starting point is 00:35:07 but a reminder that the Patriots, Panther, excuse me, traded so much to get him. They traded DJ Moore, a 2023 first round pick, which was Darnale Wright, a 2023 second round pick was with Tyreek Stephens. I think he's a starter. 2024 first round pick, pick Caleb Williams and a 2025 second round pick. Don't do that. You don't do that.
Starting point is 00:35:32 You don't do nobody like that. For one, I'm a star with David Tepper. Okay. Because what David Tepper is doing is in subordination. I don't even know what that shit mean, but it sounds like it fits for this goddamn scenario. Well, he can't insubordinate because he's the higher up. So insubordinate, that means you gotta be under.
Starting point is 00:35:51 Okay, he's the higher up and that's the problem. Because now you point the fingers at Bryce Young, like Bryce Young is the issue. That's not the issue. Yeah. That's not the issue. They're the board of talent. Look at the quarterbacks before Bryce Young got there. I thought that was the problem. Who was the quarterback before Bryce Young?
Starting point is 00:36:12 Man, they had Sam Darnold, they had Baker Mayfield. Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield. Keep going. I don't know who. I don't I don't really know who came directly after Cam. That's the hope. That's what I'm trying to say. It's been a revolving door of quarterbacks not having success because they don't have what they need around them to be successful. There was a reason he was able to get Bryce Young because he's a number, he was
Starting point is 00:36:35 the number one pick for a reason. You were able to have the number one pick for a reason. So now you expect Bryce Young to come in, had a coach, had a different coaching staff last year. You hired Dave Canales, right? You bring him in, let him play two games. He has nothing surrounding him to help him. But now you're going to bench him and you're going to start Andy Dalton.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Like that's going to answer the problem. Andy Dalton going to take you somewhere. Like that's going to answer the problem. No, fix the shit around him. And then you put him put him in an environment. And I guarantee you, you'll find success. Oh, Bryce Young is the issue. Then people have a oh, he too short. Oh, he can't see. Hello.
Starting point is 00:37:17 How tall is Kyle fucking Murray? How tall is Baker Mayfield? Well, we know we know he taller than Kyle Murray. Oh, he absolutely is. The re is not Bryce Young. Now, now what I will say, if you turn the tape on, there will be some discrepancies in his play. Oh, his confidence is shot, man.
Starting point is 00:37:40 Yeah, yeah. Well, listen, and this is no disrespect to any of the receivers that are on the Panthers. No, listen, no disrespect. You know I love you, you know how I feel about you, even if I don't know you personally. But he has, you know what, I ain't gonna say that because I don't want to be disrespectful. I think the thing is, look here, the question is, if Andy Dalton is the answer, I need to know the question. Hold on. I'm going to keep it. Y'all know what we do. We keep it.
Starting point is 00:38:10 I keep it one thought. So what's the question? Well, listen, I think having a veteran presence, I'm not sure what the Panthers are going to do going forward. Maybe allowing Bryce Young to sit for a year, watching the media outlets and some of the pundits, some of the analysts are saying, Bryce Young time sit for a year, watching the media outlets and some of the puns, some of the analysts are saying Bryce Young time in Carolina.
Starting point is 00:38:28 But they want everybody to play, cause everybody think they gonna get CJ Stroud. The problem is Ocho, is that people forget. Do you realize Patrick Mahomes sat his entire rookie year except one game? Yeah, but that's not what they do with rookies now. They don't even give the rookies time to develop and learn from the sideline.
Starting point is 00:38:45 They clear the deck. If you get drafted, number one, they throw you to the wolves. They throw you to the fire. Carson didn't start the whole year. John Kittendale. So times have changed now, for one, the money that's being invested in these players, you know, what we paying you so much. We need you to go out there right now and earn that paycheck.
Starting point is 00:39:05 You need to earn what you make it. Now it's okay. If you go to a team that is competent with weapons around you that you can use at your disposal, that makes your job easier. What Bryce Young has to do is he has to put on his fucking cape and be Superman, which he cannot do because it has nothing to use around him. You told you, I mean, I mean, that is respectful as possible. You traded D.J.
Starting point is 00:39:28 Moore, somebody that could have gave him a quality receiver. You traded him. And I like Adam Fielan, but Adam Fielan, I mean, he he's not what he wants. He's not that poor, bold receiver anymore. He's a he's a he's a he's a decent number two. Look at the receiver general. And I mean this in no, I'm not trying to be disrespectful. You know, we talk about number two, we talk about twos and threes.
Starting point is 00:39:52 Like who can Bryce Young stay with me now? Who can Bryce Young write? In the time of need. Life of their situation, he can come to the ball, get up on the center and look at a receiver and say, you know what? Right now on this plate, I need you. I need you to win for me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:13 I'm yellow, high water. I know you got me no matter what. Who can he, who can he do that to? Who can he do that with? Yeah. D.J. Schreier got somebody to do it with. Patrick Mahone got somebody to do it with. Joe Burrow got somebody to do it with. Yeah. D.J. Shroud got somebody to do it with. Patrick Mahone got somebody to do it with. Joe Burrow got somebody to do it with.
Starting point is 00:40:27 Like you can go down a list of teams that always have one dog. You just got to have one. And the more you have, the better you are. I know I can count on no matter what. He got me. It's nothing. And then you get he you got he's having a string of bad plays back to back. All that does to a player's confidence. You already know what it does.
Starting point is 00:40:50 Oh, he can be in the press conference Sunday. They asked him, have you lost your confidence? He said, my confidence is in the Lord. And when he said that, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. When he says something like that, it shot on, it shot. I'm Christian. I believe in the man upstairs too. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:13 In that environment. That Carolina Panthers fans, they trying to hear that at that moment. Oh no, listen, the killer mindset you have to have at the quarterback position. Hell no. In number one. You one, shake my confidence. The confidence is number one.

Starting point is 00:45:55 I wish more guys realized oh Joe for me How you gonna break my confidence coming from where I came from? Oh, yeah Do you know what it took just for me to get here? Now that I'm here? Yeah. You think, oh, you think, okay, I drop a couple of passes. Y'all boo. Y'all think that's gonna break me?
Starting point is 00:46:14 Yeah. I should have been broke a long time ago because there, along the way, I'm sure it's been 75,000 people that doubted me at some point in time. And I might not know them, just like you don't know half them, 75,000 or the 76,000, 77,000 people that doubted me at some point in time. And I might not know them, just like you don't know half of them, 75,000 or the 76,000, 77,000 or how many people that come to Carolina game, you don't know them. You can't break my confidence. You can't shake, you can't break my confidence
Starting point is 00:46:36 because I know, first of all, you drafted me because clearly you like what you saw on tape. I played on a big time program. I won big time games against big time competitions. Yeah. But don't, don't, don't let a couple of bad plays. Don't let somebody pull it out. Look, it's easy for me to say, cause I've never been benched. Oh Joe. Um, so that's a lot easier for me to say, um, I try to do, make sure I do everything I possibly could. You know, it's different for a tight end receiver that it is a quarterback.
Starting point is 00:47:03 They have a lot more on their plate. Then what we have on our plate, but now you're not fit to break my confidence. You're not going to shake me just because I have a couple of bad games. Hey, see, I'm going to do me. I'm going to go out there and do me. And it's a lot. Like I said, Oh Joe, I'm responsible for my plate. He's responsible for every, when things go good, he's going to get the credit.
Starting point is 00:47:24 When they go bad, he's going to get all the blame When they go bad, he go get all the blame. That's what happens. You got to think about it. As a rookie, look at the circumstances coming in. He's coming into as a rookie last year. There's a reason he was the number one pick because Alabama, huh? It damn short Alabama. Yeah. You come to where you follow tour, you follow back Jones and you got those receivers that you got. You got Jameson Williams and you got Metchi and you got those tiny. You got those running back. You got your beer.
Starting point is 00:47:52 Gail. You come up. You come up from a winning environment surrounded by adequate weapons that makes your job easy. I'm not saying it is easy, but when you have certain players around you and you have certain weapons at your disposal, you're able to facilitate the ball in an efficient way. And that's something that he can do. He has to put on the Cape and be something that he's not. He can't be Superman. Name one quarterback right now. Chat, chat, listen to me. Name one quarterback right now that you can put on the Panthers
Starting point is 00:48:28 and it would turn the whole franchise around. Who? Look, first of all, you ain't got but a handful of guys. You probably got like three or four guys, Ocho, that could go there and it raises the level of play. That's hard for a rookie because you got to look at when Peyton Manning got the end of, you know what Peyton Manning had?
Starting point is 00:48:50 Ocho? Yeah. He had Marvin Harrison. He had Marshall Falk. Two guys, first battle of the whole thing. Marshall Falk was an MVP and a two time officer player of the year. And we know what Marvin Harrison is.
Starting point is 00:49:04 That's what he have. And they say, you know what we're gonna do? That ain't enough. We're gonna go get your Reggie Wayne. You know what, that ain't enough. We're gonna go get your- Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh- Dallas Clark, Brandon Stokely, man. Don't, man, don't, don't get me started. If you look at what Patrick Mahomes inherited, he had like, what do you got? He had Tyreek. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:30 And he had Kelsey and they went out and they went out and got Sammy Watkins. Yeah. Then fortunate. Listen, you know, you think about everything you just said. Draft in the right way, putting pieces around the quarterbacks so they can have instant success. What is Brother Tepper doing over there? And they wanna blame it on the quarterback.
Starting point is 00:49:53 If enough. They wanna blame it on the quarterback. Brady was the only one, Tom probably said, Coach Belichick, don't you draft anybody else. Cause you ain't drafted but one player that's missing good and that's Gronk. Everybody else we got in free agency.
Starting point is 00:50:05 We got, I mean, uh, what was, uh, uh, uh, amandola. We, uh, you got him in free agency. Yeah. Uh, I think we're, uh, Edelman was a, was an undrafted fridges or low round draft pick. You, uh, Welker, you, you, you signed him, but he was undrafted. You look at the guys that he signed, boy, they were being good and terrible. Man. You remember he got twice Tyquan Thornton, the guy from Baylor. drafted you look at the guys that he signed boy they were being good and terrible man you remember he got twice ty kwon thorton the guy from baylor they were like four two six four two
Starting point is 00:50:30 seven yeah yeah man couldn't play dead in the western wait he what he couldn't play dead in the western you know all they do are they they pretend like they're huge and just fall all they got to do is just fall over. Oh, Joe. It happened. Damn, man. They tried my dog, Bryce Young, man. It's on it. Is there is there a scenario where he can go somewhere else?
Starting point is 00:50:54 You know, most of the time a change of scenery. I mean, this is no joke. Yeah, they gave they gave. What's the guy that was that? Jamarcus Russell. They gave Sam Darnall. They gave the guy that was at, Jamarcus Russell. Yeah, they gave Pham Darnall. But they gave the guy from Philly, not Philly, but the jazz, your guy.
Starting point is 00:51:11 Who that? They gave him longer. He in Denver right now. Zach, you talking about Zach? Zach Wilford, yeah. I mean, I'm trying to understand, you know, this is like, man, listen, this is like being in a relationship, right?
Starting point is 00:51:23 And let's chat, Stay with me real quick. I don't understand what the organization is doing. For one, you draft the quarterback. You draft him number one. You give up so much for him, right? And that's like you date somebody and you court the woman. You call her. You get you buy a flower. You open a door.
Starting point is 00:51:39 You know, you do all the things you need to do to get up. And then you got them. And then you say, you know what? This really ain't for me. I don't want to do this in the mode. I'm going to go back to my ex. Right. You had invested all this into somebody new, but you know, it ain't working out.
Starting point is 00:51:57 So I'm gonna go back to the next instead of looking internally at the real issues on why things aren't going well, because isn't it the first time you've had an issue at the quarterback position? So you know, the elephant in the room, we know what the elephant in the room is. It ain't the goddamn quarterbacks. It's what you got. Man, I'm about, I'm about to cry for Bryce Young, man. But we know, I ain't got time to be getting emotional.
Starting point is 00:52:22 Since you brought it up with with with the ladies and dating. Yeah, a lot of times we'll give up. On a on a woman that has 80, 85 percent, 90 percent of what we want only to be with somebody that has 10 to 20 percent of what we want. You know, that on Joe also I know I know that. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Oh, joy, that's all. Oh, it's time.
Starting point is 00:52:50 It's time. It's time. They do it. It's time. I don't I don't I don't ask you for much. I don't ask you for much, but I need you to bring that back one more time. I need you to bring that back one more time. But I.
Starting point is 00:53:05 Boy, I felt that way. You don't you don't see me tear up. Well, you but I ain't funny, man. Do me a favor. I promise I won't cry. I promise I won't cry. But bring that back one more time. A lot of times, men will leave a woman
Starting point is 00:53:22 that has 80 to 90% of what we want, only to go be with somebody that has 10 to 20%. You see that? We'll get mad at the woman. She got 80 to 90% of what we want. We get mad. Here come the 10 to 20. I need that.
Starting point is 00:53:43 Here come the 10 to 20. I need that. I promise you ain't crying. These are tears of joy. I need to hear that boy. Hey. Oh shit. What I was going back. Oh, it happened.
Starting point is 00:53:59 I've done it. I see a lot of times we go. I don't tell you things that somebody told him. Tell you what I know, because a man will get mad. And I don't know if women do it. I can't speak because I don't know. I don't know how you guys think, but I'm just telling you how a man thinks. How I thought. Man. Hey, whatever, good one, boy.
Starting point is 00:54:20 It ain't even Sunday, but you preaching, though. Shit got me got me crying shit. Well, wrong with me. OK, let me tighten up. Let's go back to the show. The Dolphins signed Tyler Huntley off the Ravens practice squad to a seeing a neurologist and retirement is not in consideration after suffering.
Starting point is 00:54:39 It's very documented concussion. Instead, he's in concussion protocol, working to get cleared for return. Mike McDaniel said there hasn't been any decision placed on whether Chua would be placed on injury reserve. He's doing well today and we take it day by day. He's smiling with his teammates. He's working with trainers and the medical staff diligently. I like the choice. I like the choice. I think for those in the chat that have watched Tyler Huntley play understand what they're getting. At some point, I may be a week, maybe
Starting point is 00:55:11 two, depending on how long he takes to learn the playbook. There's so much that the Dolphins could be able to do with him. He's a dual threat a, he's a good thrower of the ball. He's someone that can get the ball to waddle the Tyree. He can throw a good deep ball, but also escaping his escape ability is up the par. I'm not calling him Lamar Jackson, but if you saw when he put the Ravens and he had to play well, he played well. Yeah. He came in and played, played really well.
Starting point is 00:55:44 So I think that's a good fit for the Dolphins and he needs to be behind center as soon as possible. Because if you look at the numbers, no disrespect to Skyler Thompson. If you look at the numbers and the efficiency when Skyler Thompson plays, even with Waddle and God damn Tyree, I mean Tyree Keough at the helm, it ain't that good. It ain't that good. So you want to be in contention as long as possible and Tua is able to come back and return.
Starting point is 00:56:11 Which I think would probably be week six. I think the five week is five, maybe the five week is six. So I think Tua comes back week seven. I think the thing is Ocho, is that I think Tua had a concussion that wasn't diagnosed. Remember he got that concussion and they say, oh, it was his shoulder. He was stumbling in his office of linemen. And then he come right back out there that Thursday night against Cincinnati.
Starting point is 00:56:32 Yeah, you get slam and we saw back there. Yeah. And if I'm not mistaken, I think he had one at Alabama. It's tough. To leave something not on your terms, right? Especially this early. And I just got paid. After I just got paid and I have to continue to prove myself that I'm worthy of the contract that I received, especially after dealing with the bullshit.
Starting point is 00:57:00 When Brian, brother Brian Flores was here, I have to prove myself, not just myself, but also to the doubters who said I wasn't worthy of being the quarterback of the Miami Dolphins. I'm not worried that the contract that I just received, I have to prove that there's no way in hell. That's why I said as soon as they happened and we talked about it, ain't no way in hell in retiring. Ain't no way in hell are retiring. Ain't no way in hell. It's just, you know, as a, as someone that's on the game of football,
Starting point is 00:57:29 like you just said, all it took you to do, all you went through, the obstacles, the ups, the downs, to even get to this point in life, you think I'm gonna just hang it up behind some concussions, despite the health risks, yeah, long-term, hey. behind some concussions, despite the health risks. Yeah. Long term. Doctors, doctors. Don't like to be a definitive because they don't know it is like, OK, we think this,
Starting point is 00:57:51 you know, I've been listening to Ted, I went back and Teddy Bruce, he said when he had his stroke, he said the doctor says, OK, you could be OK, but there is always a possibility. We think there is very minimal risk. Right. But this is this is always a possibility. We think there's very minimal risk, right? But this is this is still a procedure. This is still surgery. The body is going to be opened up in this situation where my brother. Went to get his eval for his neck, right?
Starting point is 00:58:20 The doctor looked at him and told him he said, Mr. Sharp, you get to make your own decision. But if you were my son, I would advise you never to play football again. Take one hit. Oh, that was it. My brother was like, Hey, 29 years of age, just come off a 94, catch 94, catch 18 touchdown season. 29 29 it was over. Hey Michael Irvin same thing huh? Michael Irvin had a yeah he had a stenosis which is narrowing of the spine.
Starting point is 00:58:58 So he got hit boom done. See I think the thing is, is that, you know. We never think anything that's bad, traumatic, go happen to us. Right, right. I have to the other people. Right. I don't get no car, Rick Ocho. I go, you know, get no Achilles, no AC. That's not going to happen to me.
Starting point is 00:59:19 That happened to other people. And so it's hard to like, man, look, God got me. And he does. Yeah. But at the end of the day, the thing is, is that I'm looking at, we know more now. Oh Joe, they know more now. Doctors know more. The players no more now than they did in the sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties,
Starting point is 00:59:41 even the 2000s. And you know what? Oh Joe, 10, 15 years from now, they'll know even more. It's amazing how far medicine and science has come just in the last 10 years. I mean, when they used to do hip surgery, they used to cut the glue. They used to cut the muscle. Now all they do is just move it to the side. They come in through the front.
Starting point is 00:59:58 They don't go in through the back no more. That's how far the advancement, the types of material that they use last longer, sturdier. Hey, and speaking of, I just want to throw this little tad bit out there real quick since I heard you say medicine and science and you know, can I honestly say I think there's a cure for everything. Can I say that? Is it OK for me to say that?
Starting point is 01:00:26 No money in the cure. The money is in the treatment and the research. OK, I just want to make sure we are on the same page. So I'm a clear. I mean, I just want to hear what I hear you. I want you. I want you to be reoccurring. I want you to keep coming back. I don't want to clear no high blood pressure.
Starting point is 01:00:42 I don't want to care. No, no, I don't care that. Come on, man. Come on, man. I don't want to clear no high blood pressure. I don't want to care no no I don't care that come on man come on now I just want to make sure we on the same page now so I can close my book shit that's what I'm talking about I just want to match okay I just so you know the volume we're just days away from our 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival, presented by Capital One.
