Once upon a time, there existed a peaceful village.
Eventually, inevitably, an evil army, led by a villainous man, came and took that which wasn't his.
And though his reign was terrible, it too didn't last.
For a brave girl with glass slippers, snuck into the man's castle, and took back that which didn't belong to him.
For her bravery, the village made her their leader. And for her grace, they gave her a name.
The hero's sword holds the key, the damsel shows the door.
The dragon then reveals the lair where there was no lair before.
See, so just forever on this thing, Adam's given us a riddle and my brain has shut down.
Okay, can I look in the back of the telescope?
I look while you're covering it.
I look in the other end.
You're definitely covering the light.
Okay.
Well then can I try again?
Full Tweedledee and Tweedledum hours.
We're going to have to do this at night.
The light.
Wait, fuck.
We need the sun.
There is the moon.
We need the dark.
Yeah.
It's not that we're missing a sun or a moon.
It needs to be nighttime.
It needs to be nighttime.
We can't do this until it's nighttime.
Tibo. Yes?
Bring me every blanket in the house.
Hey, I'm gonna to come up there.
I've not been allowed up there before.
Oh yeah, you should come.
Hey, you guys want to come?
The desk was like that when I came in the room.
You've never been in here, it's true maybe.
Actually, you might have been in here.
Okay, I get up there.
How holy Avenger does that holy look? Hahahaha
It is burning with a white light softly.
I look at the hole in the table. I look toward my friend. I say nothing.
Um, it needs to be dark.
I'm getting, Tivo's getting some, uh, blankets.
I may have expressed some displeasure at the desk, but that's growth.
Well, I think it is growth.
Fuck it, I have a go at the desk.
With my beautiful new spear.
You drive Cinder into one of the two halves, which erupts into flames.
The flames begin to catch the second half of the desk,
and you need to open windows as it is completely engulfed.
You should probably get them out of the house, I would say.
I kick the desks outside the window.
You will take fire damage.
It is Tiffany like they erupted in the flames almost immediately.
Is it the danger to the things in the room?
No, most of the room is made out of metal.
Okay, well fine.
You just need to open some windows to stop the smoke out.
Did I feel, I felt good, yeah?
It did.
It did.
Hang on. So this isn't, this is just going to burn out, right?
Yeah, it's going to burn itself out.
So?
I am so fascinated as to what-
If I cast darkness.
The darkness spell-
It's magical darkness.
Yeah, you won't be able to see through it either.
But can the lights go on it?
Also, the minute we do it, I'll disappear.
Well, you'll disappear because
Tiffany won't be able to see period. Yeah, correct. But also, especially me. You'll disappear
extra. Yeah. I love the amount of effort that has gone into avoiding waiting seven hours.
Tearbolt reaches the top of the stairs. I mean wait seven hours. I just, I don't know.
I feel like.
Get it done.
I'm with you.
I'm trying to.
Get bored.
Well, not that.
I don't want my friends to go through too much trauma.
Yeah, fair.
Sleeping in the room for a bit or walking around the house.
It's just night time.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
Go back into town, get a drink, find fucking flask of wine and come back., no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no and Harry F can't help because neither of them can do the stairs. Yep. Just before sundown,
the four of you managed to get all the blankets up and covering over the dome.
Do you want to do this or do you want to go out in a garden?
I'll go out in the garden.
You sure? You just think I spent a lot of time in this room and I've um...
We've been here for seven hours.
Sorry, we've been here for six hours.
Six and a half hours.
Six hours and forty-seven minutes.
I'll go up here. I'll go up here.
Alright, I head back out to the garden.
Alright, you standing there as the sun sets.
You...
What would you like to do, Bob?
Um, I look through the telescope.
You see those markings.
You can see the little hole in the blankets
that you've made to allow the two telescopes to view
each other.
You maybe see Tiffany, who, I don't know, waves back.
Waves.
I assume also we've gone through and been like,
this is this aperture.
I put number seven in.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
We've chatted about stuff.
Now you don't put them all in at once.
Why would I do that?
You just don't, because you might not know
how a telescope works, and I won't have a fucking chance.
A telescope?
Yeah, you don't know how they work.
No one even taught him how to say a telescope, dude.
It's so sad.
That's like the opposite of, you know.
Because maybe one of your fucking brothers
had a telescope and he never let you fucking look in it.
That's really nice.
Like you know what's underground for archaeology.
This is way above what your scope is.
So your scope is.
So, Pop, you are looking through the telescope.
That's what you see.
Can I ask, why are you looking through the telescope?
You know that's not how it works.
What do you mean?
Wait. Why are you looking through the telescope? You know that's not how it works. What do you mean?
Wait, so alright, so you look through the telescope, you're down at the bottom, right?
Yeah.
You look through the telescope, you see the markings, you see the little hole, you see
Tiffany, she waves.
What do you do?
I do what she did.
What do you mean?
Dom, I moved away from the telescope to let the light in.
Oh, hey Adam, what I'd like to do is um...
How I moved and then you could see the sun.
Sorry, I just have a hypothetical question. I'm not going to sit up straight. Kya, I have an angle question. Do I need to be out here in the garden?
No!
Why would you need to be in the garden?
So when we were up there, the lights were already doing their thing.
Yeah, you just need, you literally just needed it to be dark.
So when he left with all the blankets and everything it was already working
yeah
and you didn't say
well now it's not because he's in the way
you didn't say shit when I left
I used message
uh come back
I think it's working
oh so one of us doesn't need to be out here.
I don't reckon I right yeah, yeah, I think you're right.
Cool, cool.
Um, just like I don't know how dark it is outside or how well it is
But you just see the silhouette of a sword hitting some sunflowers
And then I come back inside.
There's maybe like a flash as Holy Avenger cuts through them.
It like burns with a bright light for a second.
I use message.
Growth.
Well not anymore, they're dead.
Except you have to yell fast.
No no no.
I don't yell it. I waited till I get all the way upstairs. It's like five
minutes and I'm like, nah, they're dead.
What?
Anyway.
Okay, so Tiffany, for the past ten minutes, I want to say, you've had seven in, right?
So you can see that there is a splayed out on the blankets
Is a constellation
Tim bought has a piece of paper
No, you had the piece of paper. Timot, you saved a piece of paper from the deck. No, you had the piece of paper in hand.
So you need to wait till he gets back to write it down.
Okay, so splayed across the blanket.
Is the first constellation is...
Hang on.
It would be so funny if neither of you knew this.
I have navigator's tools if that helps.
It might. Do you have proficiency with the navigator's tools?
Yes, I do.
Okay, good.
That is useful.
All right, Tiffany, you don't recognize this constellation at first.
Pop, you know the constellation.
It's the satyr and pipes.
As in the little deer man?
Yeah, little deer man and pipes.
That's what other people like to call it.
Yeah.
I know what a satyr is. Oh, is the pipes the little panty guys? Yeah, the panty in pipes. That's what other people like to call it. Yeah.
I know what a satyr is. Oh, is the pipes the little panning?
Yeah, the panning pipes.
Yeah.
They're really, it's like if you stretch out a harmonica.
Or if you're watching an episode of any nature documentary, um, and David Ambrose
narrating it and we go somewhere that's a bit jungle.
Yes.
Or also mountain.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
Do do do do do do.
jungle. Yes. Or also mountain.
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
The representation is actually quite pretty.
The lens puts the picture,
the actual what it's supposed to
look like. But then the markings
mix with it to show you where the
stars are in the actual picture.
It's quite pretty.
It's quite nice. Saturn pipes.
The what? Saturn pipes the what Saturn pipes
You're I mean, I'm gonna guess the answer to this question is no
But it's weird that he taught you some stuff and other stuff didn't talk to you about the constellations. Oh, what use would it have been?
War yeah, maybe I don't think you were really picturing me going out to fight and if I was going out to fight, you didn't mind if I came back.
Don't find your way home, Jesus Christ!
The satan pipes is a constellation in the sky.
It's this one.
Could I roughly know where in the sky it is in real life?
Yeah, you could point to it in the sky.
She would have said where in the sky.
No, we've got an opening.
I just go over to one of the big windows and rip the blanket down.
It's about there.
It's dark enough now.
At this point it's probably dark enough that it works without the blankets.
What's Tibble's internal monologue?
Just curious.
This is the most excitement he's had.
Okay, so he's having fun.
Because we're not pricks, we're just idiots.
It's a delightful change to to Sir Grace
Senior yeah, yeah, we're excited to do anything
So yeah, so there's a little horn fella and there's his pipes
Another name one fellow in pipes. Yeah, I'm a horn fella. Yeah
All right. Yeah, he would have
Like on a satyr horns. That would be in the same old issue. Yeah. He would have like, I don't know, satyr horns.
So it would be in this depiction.
In this depiction it's curved horns.
Yeah.
These horns are yours.
He does.
And the pipes.
A perfect rendition of pipes.
Thank you.
Next one?
Yeah.
I switch it over to four.
Four?
Alright.
I take one out carefully.
I put four in carefully.
You both recognize this one?
It's the Sprite.
Oh, okay.
I do know this one.
Well, yeah, it's delicious, refreshing drink.
Yeah, yeah.
If you drink too fast from McDonald's,
you'd do a big burp and you can't keep it in.
I've seen the challenges.
This one is, it's the, obviously the same style.
The person who made the first one
has obviously also made this one. And once again, it is the stars being laid underneath a depiction of the sprite themselves
The sprite I assume looks like a fairy creature. Yeah, it's a little
Yeah, yeah, like a yeah. Yeah a child with wings essentially there maybe in this depiction
They're sitting on a flower,
which buckles a little bit underneath their weight.
Oh, thank you.
I swap it out for 12.
Both of you, I actually, maybe Tiffany,
I don't know about you, Pop.
Tiffany, I feel like you would be delighted by this one.
It's the leaping dog.
So am I, I know what it is,
but I'm not necessarily delighted by it.
Yeah, I feel like this one just has a lot of this one.
There's obviously a lot of joy to this one.
It's a dog leaping over a log and under or behind the log,
obviously, as if they were trying to be hidden is a fox.
And it looks like they're playing.
Oh, that's cute.
That's good. That's nice.
Dog log.
Dog log.
I like the doglog.
It's an alright one. It's not my favourite.
Which one's your favourite?
Can I just make up a constellation and it be real?
I have a list, but okay.
Hey!
I like the big manta.
It's just a big manta, eh?
You can't see it from everywhere, but it's real nice.
What's it doing?
It's just, you know, it's being a big manta.
You'll have to show me sometime.
Yeah.
Is it here?
Can I see it?
Yeah, you spot it.
Yeah, that's right.
There's his tail, there's his big wings and those little flobbly things.
Funny thing about manta rays, you look at their bellies and it looks like they've got
eyes there, but the eyes are actually on the top.
What are the things on their bellies?
Grubbers.
For breathing and eating.
Okay, I swap it out for the last one.
Which is one?
I don't need to roll, both of you know this.
It's the most prominent star in the sky.
It's the mid-star.
It is a single star in the dead centre of the night sky. All other constellations rotate around it.
It doesn't move, no matter where you are.
All right, let's head down.
Breaking news happens anywhere, anytime.
Police have warned the protesters repeatedly, get back.
CBC News brings the story to you as it happens.
Hundreds of wildfires are burning.
Be the first to know what's going on and what that means for you and for Canadians.
This situation has changed very quickly.
Helping make sense of the world when it matters most.
Stay in the know.
CBC News. We'll go to the Mace.
Yes.
Okay.
It is quite dark.
So Tiffany has dark vision.
All right.
How much time between Chult and Nail has there been?
I would say maybe three, two weeks, a couple of weeks maybe.
Okay.
Have I explained to you where I am?
It's two to three weeks?
Maybe.
Have you just worked it out?
I know that when it goes dark, you. Yeah, so I know the correlation. Yeah, okay
Okay, I know I'm not I'm not shocked every time it happens. What's really funny is so the tip, all right doesn't have dark vision
I assume halflings. I don't think do no, so like using it right now
I think he could still see me in the moonlight
He doesn't need to rely on dark vision to do that. So I do that he could still see me in the moonlight. He doesn't need to rely on dark vision to do that
So I do that he could talk to me. Yeah, who the fuck you actually haven't left the building
No, no, no, let's say you get to the back entrance to the building and then
Thudu in her wheelchair calls out. Oh
my lady, I
I would like to accompany you on where you're going. I worry though
she looks over her shoulder at tear bolts and
And Harry F who Harry F and Harry L but Harry F is the one who calls out just fucking say it
Waves a hand my lady
I fear
We are soon to find ourselves in a place where adventurers
should only tread.
I think the staff should remain behind.
Oh, of course.
You're very welcome.
I don't want to put you in any danger.
No, I will be coming with.
Oh, cool.
She's an adventurer.
You take the cat, she says, gingerly picking up pinches and handing it over to Harry L.
Harry L. cradles the cat, who is tiny in his massive, orcish hands, cradles the cat like
it were an egg about to break.
Okay, so with Thudu, who also has dark vision, hilariously, also can't see you, the three
of you wander into the garden. Thudu and then
head towards the hedge maze, obviously. Thudu looks around, obviously realizes she can't
see you, Pop. Where is he?
I'm right here. By the gods. It's a thing I can do.
Whatever, push me. She lets go of the wheels, leans back and expects you to push her.
Perfect.
I was just gonna be holding onto one of his belts,
hopefully without him knowing, but this is much easier.
Pop would know, but wouldn't say anything.
I'll push through, dude.
She starts getting darker to start reaching for a belt
and neither one of us say shit.
She has a little backpack that's strapped
to the back of her wheelchair.
She grabs that, pulls it onto her lap, and then rummages through it until she pulls out
a very pretty looking war hammer.
It is a war hammer, a weapon of war, but it looks like it's ceramic.
It's a beautiful, oh, you wouldn't be able to see the color in dark vision.
It looks ceramic and you can tell that it has a floral pattern on it
But that's all that you can make out right now. God. I hope this warhammer survives. It sounds gorgeous
Come on to say in the day Tiffany. I'm not gonna make you roll. You've done this a million times
You know the path you have I want to say maybe
15 minutes of quiet reflection in the maze as you're guiding your way through. Like I said, it's a big maze.
It takes about 15 minutes to navigate and you know the way.
It's upsetting the whole time for me.
I need everyone to know.
Have you ever like listened to a song or smelled a smell or something from a time in your life
that you didn't realize until you smelled that smell or heard that song that you were actually pretty sad for?
Oh, yes.
Yeah. Oh, yes. Like, yeah. Oh, yeah.
So I start following the maze and turning the corners and realizing that all those moments
were in my memory.
I'm like, yeah, I was trying really, really hard to solve the maze.
I was focusing really hard.
God, I was not very happy.
I was so sad.
I was so sad.
I was so stressed.
I was alone.
I didn't know what lonely felt like because I didn't know what it didn't feel like yet.
On your way through, you find a little tuft of fuzz stuck to one of the...
A little tuft of fuzz stuck to the hedge maze itself.
And despite the fact that it is black and white, you are in dark vision mode.
You can't see the color.
Tiffany, you know exactly what color that little tuft is.
I've never made that noise in my life.
Have you stopped?
Um, um, yeah. Yeah.
Are you right, Horns?
Yeah.
You just, we were doing real well now. How do you know how to find your way around here?
I used to play here.
I keep walking.
I leave the fuzz there because I don't want to get rid of the only childhood memory I have.
It's not like he painted pictures of me.
All right.
So you reach the center of the maze.
Harrowing.
The familiar sight of the dragon in black and white rears before you.
Pop, as I said previously, the statue is genuinely imposing.
When you turn the corner and see it for the first time, a part of you thinks, like are
some reptilian, I guess it's all reptilian
brain, some back part of your brain.
Ceylonian.
Yeah, yeah.
Some ancient part of your brain that is long ago been pushed into your unconscious.
Some part of your brain is like predator, predator, predator, predator.
The dragon is rearing almost as if it's about to breathe flames, but it is made of stone.
It will never and could never breathe flames.
Wink. Wink.
The plinth it is on is far larger than the hero or damsels one.
And as I said, has those gorgeous constellations all around it.
These ones are just the stars, not the representation as well.
Well, he cared about this one a lot more than the other two.
You get the, actually, you would know this with a careful eye, this statue is older than
the other two. It's, no, sorry, the plinth is older than the statue and the other
two combined. And the statue is older than the other two. The, no, sorry, the
plinth, the plinth is very old. It's made out of a different stone and is clearly predates everything else.
Oh, this is really fucking old.
Like I'm talking, this is a different stonework.
You can't get this to dead degradation.
Like this is years older than either statue.
I don't think we can lift it.
I don't think it's going to lift.
I think it might move if we punch the constellations.
I thought you wanted to put it in a museum.
Oh, well, I mean, it'd be nice, but you'd have to do it in pieces and it'd be difficult.
You might take a chunk.
Just like, I look for the manta constellation.
He's a louse. He's so mad. I look for the manta constellation. Highs or lows?
He's so mad.
Highs.
Highs?
Yeah.
You sure about that one buddy?
Yeah I am.
Okay.
Yeah.
Last chance.
I am sure.
Letting you know I either got 2 or 99.
I think you got 99.
Yeah it's there.
Um, I just sort of like try to measure with my hands how hard it would be to cut that chunk
out and take it with me to a museum.
I start pressing on the satyr pipes.
You press on that, you find the satyr pipes, you press on it and it neatly clicks in and
remains clicked in.
Gorgeous.
Let's go sprite.
Same thing happens. Let's go's go sprite. Same thing happens.
Let's go leaping dog.
Same thing happens.
And the mid star.
When you input the last one, the entire statue begins slowly
pivoting, plinth included, begins slowly
pivoting on the spot.
And then you notice that it also slowly
begins to sink into the earth until finally, underneath
the statue, a set of spiral stairs, ancient stone stairs, slowly reveal themselves leading
into, despite the fact you have dark vision, something about this darkness feels heavier
and more oppressive.
Something vile is beneath you. Have you ever
seen the steps to go up the leaning tower of Pisa?
Yeah.
Imagine a set of stone steps with a divot in them where someone would have stepped that
is, it's just stepping on them over and over and over again.
So many times they've worn down.
It's worn, yeah. There's literally almost, it looks like a channel that water would funnel down.
You can't just warn.
You know how sometimes specific types of old buildings, the spaces are just smaller?
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's the that is these stairs, two people, one person would need to almost be turned
sideways to walk down it.
It's very tight.
Jesus.
It's also stairs.
Yeah. I look at food. Jesus. It's also stairs. Yeah.
I look at Thudu.
She gives a big sigh.
You're gonna have to carry.
I didn't want to be rude.
I'm glad you suggested it.
It would have been impolite.
This is going to look so funny for me.
She takes her backpack and then neatly
inverts it. And as soon as it is inverted you realise
it doubles as a papoose.
This is not the first time she has been worn.
Doing that and putting her in there does it just look like-
No it's not front it's behind-
Oh it's a backpack.
Yeah it's a backpack.
It's like the thing that Cronk carries Yzmer in it.
Yes I was thinking more Yoda and Luke, but yeah, that's not Dysimila.
Does it look like she's floating?
Yeah!
Can I turn that off just out of curiosity?
I was just about to check that.
Because actually I think Thudu becomes invisible as well.
No!
Yeah, no, I'd say you could turn that off if you want. Yeah, absolutely.
I don't know how, but maybe just by willing it.
It's literally a magical ability.
So yeah, I think you could just turn it on and off.
I am.
Just like a what?
If Thutu goes on your back and goes invisible, and that's what happens.
Yeah.
Then you get to pick me up and we both go invisible sometimes.
Oh, that's true.
I mean, I could turn it on and off.
So you can make the choice.
You can pick Tiffany up and then you both go invisible together.
Yeah.
Does Suda become invisible as well?
Yeah, I would say so.
I put her on and just...
Oh, right.
Because of the...
Hang on.
It's probably a bit easier.
Um, there's just like a, my name and then I'm visible.
Are you about to do a pop?
Yep.
No, I was about to go, Mandarin.
I just saw you reaching.
You know how people do that.
Yeah, I don't think I can do that well.
How long have you been able to do that for?
Turn what?
Make it go away.
Recent development.
I'm trying some.
It suits you.
Yeah, I don't know if it will take but we'll see.
The three of you head down the steps together. Traveling down, you notice almost immediately
the temperature just tanks. It goes from a, I would say a like a moderate spring night to maybe like a moderate autumn night into full on winter.
Okay.
It is cold and you begin when you breathe, you begin seeing little puffs of steam that
your breath is creating.
I mean, I don't want to be a, you know, a voice of doom, but this place is maybe one
of the most cursed places I've ever walked into.
I can't believe it was under my house the whole time.
Can't you?
Your father kept many secrets.
I used to play here.
You couldn't have known.
How could you have?
You were but a child and he an absent father.
Father's a stretch.
She, Thudha doesn't say anything,
but you just feel.
I feel her nodding.
You feel her nodding in agreement.
If I may, I'm gonna light the way.
She raises her hammer.
We could have done this at any point.
I didn't need to reappear.
I disappear again.
She raises her hammer and cries out,
Lux, her hammer nearly blinds the two of you
with how bright it becomes.
You can see, it definitely looks ceramic.
It is a blue and silver pattern.
Ooh, pretty.
Does it look like the fine china that nans have?
They have like the Japanese figures and temples on them.
It's got big fine china parts.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And as I said, a floral pattern,
a quite nice floral pattern,
like on the, where the edges of the hammer are.
It's a very squarish hammer.
Does it look like it smashed stuff before?
Hard to say.
Looks like Thudu keeps it quite well maintained.
You can see, actually, you know what?
In fact, yeah, you can tell there's a sheen of polish on it. If it has been used to smash skulls, Thudu cleaned
it afterwards.
Hmm. Well, she's got time. It looks beautiful. Oh God, I hope it stays intact.
God, I hope it's not ceramic. Or if it is, it's the kind of magic ceramic that makes
it more powerful than steel. The stairs eventually bottom out and you stand, it doesn't feel like
the light is as bright as it once was. You can see, you feel like you can almost literally watch
as the edges of the light begin to creep in towards you. And this is as you're going down.
By the time you get to the bottom, it feels, the light feels very small indeed.
The darkness here is oppressive.
A weight, but not a welcome one.
A almost suffocating weight.
Does it have texture?
Yes.
Like if I can, not like running your hands, but can you almost run your hands through
this darkness?
Is it thick?
You-
Viscous.
You reach out and you make the horrific discovery that you literally can run your hands through this darkness. Is it thick? You- Viscous. You reach out and you make the horrific discovery that you literally can run your hands through
it. You pull your hands back and some of the darkness clings to your fingers like smoke.
Hmm. Right.
Uh, but maybe don't touch it.
Does Holy Avenger do anything if I hold it near it?
Holy Avenger, if you draw it out,
on approaching the darkness,
Holy Avenger vibrates a little bit,
like it's maybe anticipation, maybe fear.
That stuff scares my soul.
Fucking hell.
Yeah, I think this one's gonna be nasty, Horns.
I reckon so.
I draw Cinder.
As you're drawing your spear, and I cannot describe to you the base low-level horror
of what you are looking at, despite the mundanity of it.
It is a stone walls, rough stone walls, very obviously worked, made by human hands or equivalent
hands, but very-
Or equivalent.
Very like rough.
There's no effort really been put into making this look nice.
The floor here is just dirt.
You are standing in dirt.
You can smell dirt. And there is a little in the
wall ahead of you, a little archway. Just beyond, you see only darkness. The light cannot
penetrate that far in. The darkness feels like the surroundings, your surroundings are
so tight and small, but, and you would only imagine that the next space is going to be
similarly tight and small, but the darkness gives you the illusion that it could stretch for miles. It's impossible to see. And the expectation,
the unknown of what that darkness hides, feels malevolent. When you draw Cinder Tiffany, the
spear immediately, without you trying to do anything, it slowly drifts and points its
way through that hole, through that worked arch in the stone.
Okay, so a fun game that I play when I'm at the beach sometimes and I have goggles or
a snorkel on. And it's a fun game. You go out into the ocean and you just look. Just
look out into the ocean as far as you can for as long as you can without getting the heebie-jeebies.
It does not take very long because it's just infinite. It's so much water.
It's just blue and it just goes forever and there could be anything in it and is that what it is, Adam?
Is that the feeling we're getting? Yeah.
You're good. I hate this. I hate you.
And Cinder doesn't do anything to light that at all. No, Cinder doesn't light it. It looks, it feels almost like Cinder is urging you forwards, but with a, there's a determined
urging forward, but also a, like a, like Cinder, I don't know how to describe it, because Cinder's
not really communicating with you other than the, the, the very like fundamental nature of its being.
But it feels like Cinder has come home to a place it is unfamiliar to.
I sit with this for a moment because if the spear is feeling like it wants to go forward,
my first thought is, oh, it's dad's spear.
Like, dad was really brave.
He'd go in, he'd do this, but I'm really scared.
And then I think, well, no, every time I've tried to be brave, it's to try
and impress dad to be like him, but I am like him and he's tried to keep me not brave.
He's tried to frighten me my whole life.
And I am as brave as him because I am him and I step forward. Thanks for watching! I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to do it. Holla differently this year with DoorDash. Don't wanna holla do the most? Holla don't. More festive, less frantic.
