Starting point is 00:01:21 Always yeah, I got guts ready cross from me over here, and I can't figure it out. So far away, sorry. You're Chris Mastella. Yes, I think Mastella. Cara supplied us with the beer this week. Yeah, I want the Stella. All right, before we start anything at all, I want an immediate explanation of Gus' jacket. Dude, I think you're supposed to.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Gus, I'm going to be in this. I letered in Xbox in high school. I was the quarterback of my madden team. Remember the Alba betas? This is part of the stuff I wanted, the Charles Play Charity dinner that we went to. I'm going to show the back, the back swear. I don't know if I can really turn around and show it effectively
Starting point is 00:01:55 to camera. That's it. Oh, yeah. I guess this was so smooth. This was a jacket that- You actually look giant. It doesn't kind of holdvers out on your body. You can see some of the other things that we want around the set. You gotta stop winning stuff because you make sure the word won and you can't say it right. You say why?
Starting point is 00:02:15 I love what he's been making us that Xbox live neon. Xbox live neon sign. And if you look behind me, there's an Xbox launch edition that's signed by Bill Gates. How many of those did you win? Just one. And then we got like a bunch of games. And also back there, there's like a prototype of the new. Why is it the middle of the controller missing? That's a prototype.
Starting point is 00:02:38 Oh, really? Yeah. And apparently you won a mortal. Yeah, you won the actual one. Oh, there you go. The tower of Baradour. I'll get to that. Good memory that I had to look it up earlier because I was doing a
Starting point is 00:02:49 Google image search to find a picture of the tower. The one that is showed. So yeah, I learned about the tower bar bar door. I had to remember that because it's actually one of the levels that's in Lego uh, Lord of the Rings. Right. Have
Starting point is 00:03:01 you played anything that yet? No, I haven't. It's not bad. I'm excited to try it out. They pump out those Lego games like crazy. If you've you played anything that yet? No, I haven't. It's not bad. I'm excited to try it out. They pump out those Lego games, like crazy. If you've ever played Lego games before, this one's a little bit different because this one, it's like the hub area where you go from level to level and come to the Star Wars games.
Starting point is 00:03:16 It's like a cantina. And you just walk into the different levels. It's not like that in Lord of the Rings. In Lord of the Rings, it's the entire goddamn map of Middle-Earth. And you have to walk across the whole thing and go into the different levels. That's cool. You can fast travel a little bit but it is pretty damn amazing. Is that me? Like I put you halfway there. You got to go to these statues and then unlock the fast travel locations. They do that in the sessions creed where you have to walk to completely out of your way to find that little tunnel that would take you to
Starting point is 00:03:40 another tunnel. It's like a place in the cell that when you hit the owls. Yeah, is that what it is? Yeah, It's like border lanes too. It's like they have the fast travel stations for the A to up the fast travel. Rolling back to Lord of the Rings, I wanted to talk about our new video series that we released on Monday. Before we get to anything else,
Starting point is 00:03:55 a simple walk into Mordor, which is a video that Chris and Carrie made while they were down in New Zealand and Australia for a supernova convention. I rarely show any emotion. I was almost crying with laughter at episode one. It's so funny. Yeah, it's so funny.
Starting point is 00:04:14 It's really funny. We have Chris and Carrie here with us joining us for the podcast so that they can talk about their experiences walking across New Zealand, probably trespassing. There's not problem about it. They were jumping fences. Doing guns, no. So if we can get those guys over here, they're in there.
Starting point is 00:04:32 So there they are. Like they're in Mordor. In front of the tower of Baradour. So you all had to walk 120 miles in six days. That was the plan. That was the attempt. That's the attempt, yeah. Because we're dumb. We're
Starting point is 00:04:45 dumb dumb people. Yeah. It we quick very quickly hated that idea. Yeah. Yeah. It was horrible. So in the first episode, Chris, you run around like an idiot. Anytime you see an animal, it seems like yeah chasing it. That's a reoccurring thing. Yeah. I can't imagine, like, there's a farmer who sees you guys trespassing or walking through the land. He's like, all right, look at these assholes. I guess I'll just let him be. And then you start chasing his fucking cows. And then you see, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Well, the worst thing is he kept chasing the animals. Like, huge chasing animals when we were in the pits with the animals. So a lot of huge chasing cows. And we were in the thing with the cows. He was fearless. I've got close to a cow. And that's huge heavy things.
Starting point is 00:05:25 I imagine like 30 of them. Yeah. And they just kept like running at us, stopping, looking. No, I'm not really sure. I'm like walking away. I feel bad about that though, because from what people posted on the internet, apparently that curdles their milk. I curdled that.
Starting point is 00:05:38 You've ruined the New Zealand milk. No way. That's true. No way. Such a wise thing. What kind of curdles would you like? Yeah, like the milk cows are eating cheese. Because the milk That's true. Milk sauce. Such a wise taste. Well, it's sour, it's good. It's good. Yeah, like the milk.
Starting point is 00:05:47 The milk cows are eating cheese because the milk joss is up in the others. And again, it's just butter. It's a form of mix up. It's butter joss. You feed a cow chocolate. You get a chocolate milk out of it. That's how it works, right?
Starting point is 00:05:55 When that be great, if it's an attorney butter, you just had to chase the cow. And then you can milk the butter out of them. It's kind of like shaking the milk. You have to chase them in the cold weather. Yeah, the butter. How does that work? How do you turn milk into butter out of them. It's like shaking milk. You have to chase them in the cold weather. Yeah. The butter. How does that work?
Starting point is 00:06:07 How do you turn milk into butter? They have the stick and they have the bucket. You turn it and then you take what you turn it into. Yeah, I know. I'm asking what that is. You can't just say the word again. It's agitated milk. Yeah, they just agitated.
Starting point is 00:06:18 Agitated. I get it deep again. Yeah, last milk and he agitated. Oh, agitated some milk right now. You got any milk? I bet you what you talked about your genitals. Well'll agitate you some milk right now. You got any milk? I bet you would. You talk about your genitals. Well, you've got to get the straight milk. I think it has to have a higher fat content
Starting point is 00:06:29 like we're going to travel to the hell. No, I'm not going to section one. I'm backing up on that. I know how to make butter, but even if you're not, you turn it, you agitate it, and then you compress it down into a compact space, and then you chill it. You put it on ice for something. So much is just squashed cold milk.
Starting point is 00:06:43 Squashed cold fat from milk. So could you like find a little cup? Could I like? OK, I'll cut the wire. All right. Yeah, I was making butter. So if I think it can't be just, it has to be like milk from a cow. It can't be like with the layers that we get now.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Correct. Is it the place of milk from a goat or a... No, like milk. Like real thing. We get the cows. It's almost like oil. How they refine it into the different layers like gas and oil and everything That's why you have like so come 2% Can't be milk it can't be milk and gas form is that what you say pretty well? It can't be it can't be like raw oil form Can you get me that okay? Can you get milk gas?
Starting point is 00:07:23 No Let's get back to the car. No, what happened? No, let's get talking about that real. No, two, whatever. If there was an apocalypse, there's just certain things that like the average, we would just lose in our diet. The average person could not make cheese. They just couldn't do it. Speak for yourself. The apocalypse, or?
Starting point is 00:07:36 The apocalypse. No, he's doing it. Like if he was a woman, I'm trying to bullet for it. I don't know. We have cheese for like three weeks, then all the cheese would be gone. Yeah, but nobody else would be able to make kids his my Is more people in the world than not to make cheese who cares? Just don't have cheese
Starting point is 00:07:51 I'm there's no god. I can go the rest of my life without a world without cheese It's not a world that I want to live in Gavin carry. Oh now he's in Jurassic Park for some reason what Let's Jeff go boom. There's a lot of reason behind you. That's the forest with the elves Well, actually you guys being here today is a little bit of a spoiler because it just goes to show that you guys actually survived this little endeavor, which is not really clear from the video
Starting point is 00:08:14 if you guys are going to live or not. I'm waiting for this to end. Yes, Chris Chase's shocks. That's episode four. Yeah. It's, yeah, spoiler alert, we didn't die. We didn't die. Well, we did not come out unharmed. I will say that
Starting point is 00:08:27 Did you guys study anything? What did you do to prepare for this study? We read the books. Yeah Yeah, not like all men actually like you know maps or anything right? No, okay We did I mean we we researched like where we were walking. Yeah, so that we knew we weren't just like I mean Besides just going south like we had trails and paths and whatnot. Through people's property. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:49 So I think the first time we talked about this, the first time I heard about it, I think it was like January of this year, we were planning out the events, we're going to be attending this year. And Kerry comes up to me, he's like, hey, I'd really like to go to Australia because when I'm down there, I want to go to New Zealand. And I just want to try to walk for more, they filmed the shire to where they filmed Mount Doom. And I was like, shut up. I was like don't tell anyone the idea I was like we're gonna start working on this immediately. We're in we'll film it
Starting point is 00:09:11 That was I mean, that's probably the biggest secret I've ever kept in my life It's just like because I didn't want to tell anybody because I didn't want anybody to try and like right out there Yeah, I can't believe nobody had done it before I know that's right. I can it was fucking But we're glad you guys survived That's right. I can. It was fucking hot. That's true. But we're glad you guys survived. We're glad you guys are back with us. Quinn, will the new videos be released? Is it every Monday? We're doing every Monday and Friday. That's my weekly carry, by the way. Show up. If I would say how many episodes there are?
Starting point is 00:09:38 I think we're shooting for four. We're shooting for four. And then we might do like a post after the fact one. Or we might just have a fifth one. We don't know. It's hard to and then we might do like a post after the fact one, or we might just have a fifth one. We don't know. It's hard to tell if we're still editing it. A post after the fact or a fifth one. Isn't this post after the fact? Yeah, I think so. So let's have a second episode this Friday and then two next week. Yeah. Great. Cool. And that leads up to the Hobbit, which comes out. Yeah. For this Friday. Oh, this Friday. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:00 What happened to you? Yeah. Chris, why haven't you a voice? Why do you, what do you sound dead? Uh, because I haven't you a voice why you what do you sound dead? Because I got sick Brunkitis walls in New Zealand It was the best thing ever because right before we left he started coughing like really really badly I was you know super worried about all this stuff and then the second day we were walking he reaches over to my water and drinks out of my water and Didn't even think about it. He's just like, oh, yeah, I'm thirsty. I'm gonna drink this water.
Starting point is 00:10:26 Yeah, well, we were like living in a tent together anyway. So at that point, it didn't really matter. I beg to differ. I get it. Spoiler alert. Oh, sorry. Yeah, let him tell the story. Let him build an area.
Starting point is 00:10:38 He's totally over time. Go to the fair. Oh, cool. Get the hell out of here, guys. Thanks for joining us. Well, you can point more of it. We're really excited to watch the rest of the series. Just so you know, I saw the Hobbit in 48 frames 3D this weekend.
Starting point is 00:10:53 That shot of Chris and Kerry is actually more realistic than some of the shots in the Hobbit. The way it looks. Well, that 48 frames is like that. It's like when you get a TV that's 120 hertz or whatever, it's just too smooth. It is exactly like that. That's terrible. You nailed it. Well, if you don't like that aesthetic, you will have a hard time watching the Hobbit
Starting point is 00:11:11 in 48 frames 3D. Do you have to do that the way I saw it? What's that? Do they do a Hobbit frame rate one? I'm pretty sure you can watch it in 2D and you can watch it in 24 frames per second. There has to be most theaters probably are 24 frames a second. Don't you need a special projector for 48 frames per second?
Starting point is 00:11:27 I think you do. Yes, well, there's certain projectors then you have to upgrade them. And in fact, it was a big appearance by Peter Jackson. I want to say it's Cinevegas this year, where the whole purpose of the presenting the Hobbit was to convince theater owners to upgrade their projectors in time for the hot air. To make everything look like a documentary? Well, listen, so I was at Button-Aon this weekend where we sat down and we watched 24
Starting point is 00:11:49 hours of films and the Hobbit was one of them and actually Peter Jackson came and talked about it. Oh really? Yeah, he was there in attendance. Which film number was it? What? Nobody could help. You saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you
Starting point is 00:12:01 saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, saw, you saw, saw, you saw, you saw, saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, saw, you saw, you saw, you saw, you saw like what, 11, 12 last week probably. It was technically number one. Uh-huh. Because there's this running joke about Namathon where they try to play team wolf. Oh, yeah. And so they played team wolf and it got all the way through team wolf to where you're taking the shot to win the championship
Starting point is 00:12:11 and then the frame stopped and then it melted and on came the habit. So they played the whole movie, essentially them. They went all the way to you, you're really interested in team wolf finally and how is it going to end? And Mike was going to be like, oh, oh, you missed the guy pulling his dick out at the end of Teen Wolf? Yeah, I heard about that.
Starting point is 00:12:27 Yeah. We talked about that on the podcast before, right? Just waves it around. I just want to say, Hobbit's amazing. I reread the book to get ready to watch the Hobbit. The way they told the story, the way they added and stuff from Simarillion, and kind of expanded on the actual story that's in the Hobbit, all that stuff was awesome. How is Martin Freeman? Martin Freeman was perfect as
Starting point is 00:12:49 Bill Bo. Absolutely. He's a lot of a chap. He's badass. And I think you're the only one of this in this podcast to get to say that not sound completely stupid. But I was just one of those people in Peter Jackson even said that some of you will watch this movie and you will love 40 frames by the time it's over and some of you will hate it. That's just the way it is. You know, it's just like it's too cruel. Like people say it's like, Oh, it's like looking through a window at a movie. Like, that's not what I want. Like you want that movie. Yeah, you want that cinematic feel to it. It's kind of like it feels like a test on us. Why waste it on the hubbit? Yeah. Brian actually, Brian who works
Starting point is 00:13:20 for us, Brian, being he made a good point. He said that because we already spent so much time in that world, Peter Jackson's middle earth, that to suddenly change the look of it midstream was jarring for some people and I said, you nailed it. That's exactly what happened. Is that it looked like a different production to me. So I don't know. I think it's worth the unit in 48 frames a second 3D because I'll say this. It was bar none the best 3D I've ever seen oh really was not annoying to my eyes or anything
Starting point is 00:13:47 I just shot real 3d wasn't it yeah was better a lot a lot of movies like that are nowadays are shot with two cameras a lot of them on the yeah well you can tell yeah thanks well no nope like Avengers was not shot in 3d and they did it in post yeah and it looked fine it looked fine this was tremendous but for a movie in the way like that didn't post. And it looked fine to me. It looked fine. This looked tremendous. But for a movie in the way like that, if you've ever seen it, like you're saying, was it 240 Hertz TV? Oh, yeah, 120 or 240, whatever.
Starting point is 00:14:12 If you've ever seen one of those and it bothered you, then be careful. But that's a different thing to the smooth thing, though. Because you can have a 240 Hertz TV that just refreshes the same frame. That looks better. If it's actually making frames in between the frames That's what's causing the right to smoothness
Starting point is 00:14:27 That interpolates the frames. Yeah, well, I would say the absence of the stereostrovic effect on film is what most people are missing And that's what I'm missing is like when people are running They a lot of people say it feels like keystone cops to them. Oh, everybody moves too fast Yeah, so I don't know. It was, but I would definitely go see it's great movie. There's a sequence in that movie. And I'm not going to tell you spoilers or anything, but it's an escape essentially. If you read the book, you know, you'd probably know what it is. I got the braille version. It's a 10 minute like escape sequence that is just incredible. I just watched like the cartoon or something.
Starting point is 00:15:05 You know, if you like like the scene in fellowship of the ring, the scene where there is, they're running away from the goblins and they're on those stone steps that are collapsing. Oh, right. If you like that scene, there's a scene in the harbour that's like that times a hundred and it's amazing. How is punctuation done in Braille? Like a full stoprochona. I'm sure they just have a set of dots.
Starting point is 00:15:23 They have a dot, a pie like a posh. You think it's just the one dot? Is it a period confusing? Yeah. I'm sure there's a special mark for that. Gavin, it's a square. Gavin, you live with a blind person. You live with a blind person who can read like every kind of braille.
Starting point is 00:15:40 Why don't you ask her? Just never go around to it. Ask us. We obviously have a lot more experience with that than she would we can definitely help you with that So mean this week we're going to talk about the awards as well. Oh, yeah, we are Podcast Awards world famous to figure out our nominations for the Internationally renowned god has a freaking cheat sheet like you should see the sheet of but you got like two pages I mean he wrote it down itself. It's not
Starting point is 00:16:02 Is it? Yeah, it's cheat sheet. I wanted to make sure we had an intelligent discussion look at this bitch Oh, no, it's too cheat sheet two you guys didn't bring shit. It's called preparation Hey, guys open. Yeah, what's up? Right? The old nine. I said we said we'll do the exact With the cat boys. I think we already sent you links to research ahead of the two. Yeah, I saw those links I didn't look at him, but I saw the Lincoln. Yeah, I saw the link. I don't I saw the link I went in and sat in his office with him It was going over choices. Yeah, together. It's all in the head. Those are our notes You look ridiculous leap off
Starting point is 00:16:43 When was the last time you did wait I've never done wait you never lifted a weight you ever do it as a joke? Like, oh, this is heavy. I just jumped out of joke. I look at this, it's so funny. Check it out. Bush. We used to have those weights at the old office on Congress, and I would pick them up to move them because I can't fully count. Have you ever gone and actually gone through a full workout and done anything like that?
Starting point is 00:17:04 No. Never. Not even once. It used to run. I would jog. Does that count? I can't count. I mean, if it's what you've done, I guess you have to count that. Like on a trail or a treadmill or a track.
Starting point is 00:17:13 It's outside. Yeah, like streets. Cool. All right. What do you think is the furthest distance you've run continuously in your life? I used to run like distance stuff. I could run about seven miles. That's pretty impressive.
Starting point is 00:17:27 Well, you could run solidly for seven miles. Yeah, that's impressive. I mean, it's like, it sucked. Yeah. I didn't want it to dock when I was done. I wasn't like, super fit about it. I mean, there's a point when you are jogging and you're running and stuff that you can actually slow yourself down, like, catch your breath back up.
Starting point is 00:17:40 Like while you're still running. I believe it or not, I used to run a lot. Yeah. You drive a lot more. Absolutely right. No, there's a good believe you. I could run 10 miles, like just non-stop. It was one of those things where, like, you would run and then like, once you kind of got tired, you could slow yourself, but you'd still be moving. I think we should see how far you can run now. Right now, I could probably do, if you forced me, I could probably do, like, talking about jogging. Yeah. I could probably do I probably do, like, talking about jogging. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:03 I could probably do mile and a half, or so. When I was, that's a massive decrease from 10. Oh, absolutely. That's not, you know. When I was running through Dulles Airport, trying to catch my flight to Paris the other week, I had to run from, like, one terminal to another carrying my backpack, and I almost died.
Starting point is 00:18:18 Okay. It was the saddest thing in the world. Yeah, there was an old man out running me, who was, like, from my flight going to the flight, safe flight I was, and he wasn't even a windant. Like, we got to the check of it in the world. Because you say out there. Yeah, there was an old man out running me, who was like, from my flight going to the flight, to see flight I was, and he wasn't even a windant. Like, we got to the check in for the next flight. He's like, I'm here for the flight. And I'm behind him like,
Starting point is 00:18:31 there's a plane, like, struggling even with the vehicle that you're on. That didn't feel terrible. It was like, it made me feel bad after a while when I was on the plane flying to Paris. I was like, when I got back to Austin, I'm going to run. Yeah. I need to get back in shape. I'm fucking running out. You, I'm gonna run. Yeah, I need to get back in shape.
Starting point is 00:18:52 You ran straight to your couch. Yeah, I ran straight to Far Cry 3. All right. So what are the categories for this year's podcasts awards? Gus the categories are the same as last year's categories, which were best movies best downloadable game content You've finished them since all your notes are in your head. It was best video game Is there best arcade game or downloadable game on there? I just said that's a cool head. No, he said DLC. That was different. That's a downloadable game content Yeah, which is DLC that's the kind of LG what so there wasn't like downloadable like it now We're just confusing the shit out of people now the shit out of me You got best online video Okay, right
Starting point is 00:19:21 God how many were there? right. How many were there? Game downloadable game. There were like some categories. The real movies. Best movie, best TV show, best game, retail, best downloadable content including downloadable games, and best internet video. See boom, easy, easy, easy as can be. I'm so dumb I had to write it down though. I was doing maintenance over here on Gavin's thing so doing text support. We're gonna prepare for him. Okay so here's let's start with the first category. Let's go with best movie. How about that best movie thoughts? Best movie the air there is a easy easy one for this category. Well, let's say how do we know how to have a cap on how many Nominees we're gonna have forgot a good one. We just talk about a bunch of stuff and we'll never down
Starting point is 00:19:57 What do we do? I mean now tonight? We're doing nominees and then we'll come back We're gonna get to contend that dog night rises would be a dark night rises number one with a bullet for me is the Avengers Yeah, I go they just with a bullet. I have not seen that one a bullet It's a DLC goes in that He'll see from the movie draw a tiny little bullet Just with a bullet I can't start you okay, and then he got looper is up there. Yeah, looper Yeah, the great show we talked about yeah, yeah record route Okay, that's a fantastic. I want to go through all the. We talked about. Yeah, Luke. Yeah, record route. Record route.
Starting point is 00:20:26 Okay. That's a fantastic thing. I went to the obvious ones first. Hobbit, you got to throw Hobbit in there. I know you guys have seen yet. I guess we required to see it this Friday. Yeah, you probably see it. You don't have to see it Friday.
Starting point is 00:20:36 You just want me to see it before Tuesday. Okay. I know, that's a research. Jack might not be the only one. Okay, I don't want to go to movie theater. He'll be out there. You're going to nerd Gus going to see you. I'm going to go. I'll just punch everyone as they go into see watch the hobbit like because you're punch nerd. I really need to show up in an Xbox letter Jack.
Starting point is 00:20:53 I love this thing. What is it? What's on the sleep? What's the number? One. It's the year the Xbox launched. Oh, I guess so. Yeah, the original Xbox.
Starting point is 00:21:03 I'm also number one. He's the best. So I wrote down a few other things as well. Just I looked at like high-grossing movies as well. I don't know if anyone cares. I wrote hunger games. Yeah, that was this year. Skyfall. Prometheus. Wow. Now we're just discussing. I have not seen this one yet, but I really want to see it. Argo. catagorean. Yeah, we're discussing. We're discussing. We're just fidgeting.
Starting point is 00:21:25 I have not seen this one yet, but I really want to see it. Argo, has anyone here? Argo is a good one. Great thing. I really want to see that. Lincoln, the Gray. The Gray.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Thank you for mentioning that. That was when we talked about last year. Last year. You saw the last bean that. That is a matter of fact. Yeah, I saw it at Beanat last year. And so we couldn't nominate because I hadn't been out yet. And it came out the end of January this year.
Starting point is 00:21:43 That's great film. Gray is a great movie. Cabin in the woods. He's the only one I is a great movie cabin in the woods. He's ill when I wrote down. Cam no, it's good Okay, I got a couple more you said Argo. I want to add into the discussion silver linings playbook I keep hearing good things about that. I was junior for Lawrence right and Bradley Cooper. Yeah, you go Jennifer Lawrence. I'll see you I love Chris Tucker. I'll see you He's though alive. No, Christopher's in it. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, this. I love this. I love this.
Starting point is 00:22:05 I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this.
Starting point is 00:22:13 I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this.
Starting point is 00:22:21 I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love this. I love're gonna make another Friday movie up here. Oh really? Yeah. Wow. Maybe like three or four of those. They're gonna resurrect Ice Cube from his suburban family comedy horror. Are we there yet? Yeah. God. Although Ice Cube got to be so happy about Snoop Dogg.
Starting point is 00:22:36 Snoop Dogg is like... Snoop Lion. Snoop Lion, right? He's now like every white person in America, they're black friends. Like that's like his new role, where he's just gonna go and be on anything and be like. Well, like I was Will Smith for a while. Like the guy everyone can agree with. Yeah. We was just on Epic Rap Battle's history.
Starting point is 00:22:54 New Blind. Really? Yeah. Like as himself? No, he was Moses versus Santa Claus. And he played Moses. Did he really? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:02 Wow, that's a big get for me. Jesus Christ. Well, I remember this goes into a whole internet discussion, but Maker Studios did this big signing deal with Snoop Lion. And they announced that at VidCon, remember when we were there, Gabbo? Yeah. Yeah, of course he does. Of course he does.
Starting point is 00:23:17 But there's a big thing in the news, I hope it's big, it's big in our world. Where Maker Studios and Ray William Johnson are this massive fight. Oh, really? Yeah, they make her shut down his show. Really, I didn't know that. They shut down production on this album, my favorite Martian, and then subsequently, they then shut down production of Equal 3,
Starting point is 00:23:36 which is like one of the biggest shows on the internet. Yeah, Jesus. Wow. According to him, we'll link some of these articles, we'll talk about it later, but they wanted 50% of his rights, ownership of his show in perpetuity. And they wanted an ever-increasing portion of the revenue that he makes from the show.
Starting point is 00:23:54 Like, I think they wanted something like 40% of his YouTube revenue. That's not. But they don't pay him to make the show. That's a show that he brought to them. It's not like he, I mean, I don't know if this my favorite Martian thing, that that's the musical channel that he made. He might have made that with them, but he showed up with that show, you know,
Starting point is 00:24:09 what I mean, and like signed on with the studios. So I didn't have a lawyer look over those contracts. It's a double checkery thing. From what I've read that Ray will be doing with the law school at one point. Yeah, you dropped that law school to make internet videos. Yeah, at what point do you sign something that says someone else can just shut down your channel if they're not happy with it? Well, he's fighting with them right now. I imagine, I'm excited. You don't read that thing. Okay. I Duray a little bit. I followed the terms and conditions. Yeah, yeah, I Got a lot of accepts just like the hunger game. I accepted it trying to get a spot. Okay, okay, so so for the likes playbook Thank you
Starting point is 00:24:39 Then I also would like to put in moon rice kingdom, which was a really cute movie. I'm just a shot That's what's Anderson. It was a western movie for this year. You want to put Ted in there? Ted was so bad. How bad was it? I was watching it on the plane. I turned it off and went to sleep. But me look who is in there.
Starting point is 00:24:57 I don't be like who is in there. He's like the hottest woman ever. I'm just gonna do it to sleep. Man, I'm done. I did that with Captain America. America, really? Really? I have to admit, I have not made it all the way I'm done. I did that with Captain America. Really? I really think that was a classic fight.
Starting point is 00:25:08 I have to admit, I have not made it all the way through Captain America myself. Chris Evans though. He's pretty dreamy. He's, well, you know, he's alright. He's a hot tamale. I first saw him in that, not another team movie. Then he had his dream on his dog. He's actually very funny too.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Is he? I like that movie. He was great in the Fantastic Four. He may have been the only good thing about Fantastic Four. Well, that's a good character too. Yeah, I like that movie. I mean, re-rich it's not exactly a light up the screen. So go over the list, the annual question.
Starting point is 00:25:37 Okay. You guys, you fucking loafers have anything to add? I had to go in the looper. I threw in Avengers. Come on now. So everything on the list, and obviously the stuff here we can cut, I threw in Avengers, come on now. All right, so everything on the list, and obviously the stuff here we can cut, I think, pretty easily.
Starting point is 00:25:48 Avengers, Dark Knight Rises, Hunger Games, Skyfall, Rocket Ralph, Prometheus, Argo, Lincoln, Looper, LeGrey, Kevin In The Woods, Hobbit, Silver Lines Playbook, and Moonrise Kingdom. We didn't mention stuff like the Master, which I saw. Oh yeah. The Master was pretty much like note for note, exactly like there will be blood. Really? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:11 It made by the same guy. 20 minutes of no dialogue at the beginning of the movie. And it's pretty much, it's like, it's like, it's just, it's two characters interacting, non-stop for like three hours. So by the end of it, you are just naturally invested in these two people's relationship. And you're like, it's just, yeah. So, uh, it ends abruptly and all that. You still have to see more hop and beat the ship.
Starting point is 00:26:28 You know, the bowling pin, no, the bowling pin. So do you want me to add the master on here or? No, I'm just saying, let's talk about it. I saw it and I, I wouldn't be more than my favorite movies of the year. Okay. Uh, well, right off the bat is there anything here that you know? Prometheus, go ahead and knock that off. I would tell you, Prometheus and Skyfall.
Starting point is 00:26:43 Yeah, Skyfall. Skyfall was not that great. There were parts of Skyfall that were fun. I like the kind of Reworking of of bond and kind of how they incorporated some older stuff back into it But I think in general the movie wasn't that great. It wasn't as good as I would. I mean it was good But it wasn't like great. Listen, and I also I learned also can I say some real quick work for it? Speaking of spoiler on Skyfall So fucking Jordan like one of the He was down here. Jay or Dan, this is before he moved to Austin.
Starting point is 00:27:07 He actually was in like in in town visiting us doing stuff. And he walks in the office. You guys went and saw Skyfall and he walks into the office. And like I had my back to him. He's talking to you. You can come out here if you want. Yeah. Jordan, you're going to try to defend yourself.
Starting point is 00:27:21 Try to if he's here. But um, yeah. So he's now in and he's now in Gavin. And he's like, so Gavin, what do you think about in the ball and is dropped his massive spoiler? Like the, like the Monday after the movie had come out. And I was just like, well, well, thanks. And I was hoping, again, I was hoping, hoping, hoping that maybe they were just messing
Starting point is 00:27:42 with me. And then you see the movie and like, it's like movie and like is that maybe that's what they're talking Well, maybe okay, it's not gonna end up how I thought and then it does and it's like well I got the sixth sense ruined for me almost the exact same way really like the Monday after it came out Remember Robert you know hosta T&I you walked he's like man You see the sixth sense this weekend. I was like no, he's like man Bruce Wallace is dead the whole movie You literally just ask me if I saw it. Yeah, it's yeah, but I was like, what? Yeah, I'm not cool. You literally just asked me if I saw it. Yeah, but I was just like, apparently like everyone,
Starting point is 00:28:09 like as soon as he said it, like Michael and Gavin and Ray all like looked at me, like, it was just like, well, thanks, great. I'm trying. And so anyway, I didn't see it, it was okay, but like, what, knowing what I knew, I was looking for that for the whole moving kind of room. I had a major problem with Skyfall, like like that I liked Javier Bardem. I was
Starting point is 00:28:27 a Javier Bardem they just had the Star Trek 2 trailer was a Star Trek Indy Darkness. Yes. That came out it would have been great if they followed like they did Rat the Con. I always thought Javier Bardem would make it awesome con. Well there's the rumor that Con might show up in this movie. That's a matter of fact everyone thought the guy, Benedict Cumberbock, is that his name? Yeah, Benedict Cumberbatch. Cumberbatch?
Starting point is 00:28:49 Yeah, anyway, they thought he might actually be Khan. That was a real name. Yeah, he's an alien. Pretty much. What else has he been in? He's Holmes and Sherlock, and Sherlock, right? This was Column. Yes.
Starting point is 00:29:00 We're getting some Mike from. Oh, sorry. Yeah, so anyway, so he's Sherlock Holmes and. I'm having some microphone. Sorry. Yeah. So anyway, so he's Sherlock Holmes and the BBC show Sherlock, which is Martin Freeman's in it. He plays Watson on that show. Yeah, I haven't seen anybody. It's one of those BBC shows where they have like three episodes
Starting point is 00:29:15 of season in the Call of a Season. Call of a Series? Yeah, I think we're like in six episodes in the first season. Yeah, six episodes of season in the season. There's some America shows like that. Like, oh, the first season of Breaking Bad was a season of Walking Dead with only six seasons. Yeah. Six episodes. Yeah. episode season and this is some America shows like that like the first season of breaking bad first season of walking dead with a million reasons yeah Except episodes yeah
Starting point is 00:29:31 Anything else you want to knock out of here? I think Kevin in the woods probably Kevin was just fun, but I don't think it's I don't think it's movie the year. Yeah, I agree with you there. Thor was in it Has anybody seen our go I have not seen our It's gonna be that movie that we cannot nominate because no one's seen it. So it just loses out as a result of that. Go ahead. We really want to see it. How many we down to now? I'm the only person who put in movie rights kingdom. Knocked that off. I know there's even people who like West Anderson movies that didn't necessarily like. Yeah. I'm also going to knock off Hunger Games, I think. Yeah. Dude, yeah. That movie was
Starting point is 00:30:00 I would like to I read the books in anticipation for it and I think that ruined the movie for me. No, I was surprisingly disappointed by that movie. Yeah, I thought it was gonna be this like Yeah, big new franchise that's coming out. It was just super flat. It was very This is what it is with no explanation like here's this crazy fantastic world. No idea what's going on Here's the problem. Just a battle royale. That's far superior. Yeah, well But here's the thing about battle royale is that battle royale is our movie. PG 13 Hunger Games is not good because you can't show kids killing kids in PG 13. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:33 So the main thing that happens in the movie, you can't show on screen. You actually never see anybody get killed. You see a lot of people going to attack somebody and then they're dead. Yeah, or like the Whittpan where suddenly they've already been hit and stuff like that. Exactly, it's very creative editing around all that stuff. And I got to know him to be really quick now. Like that first scene when they go up in the pillars and then they start and they all run for the equipment, that should be like a blood bath.
Starting point is 00:30:55 It's really not. It's a lot of running around in fast camera angles and if you look at it, it's transformers for all of a sudden. Yeah, no, I mean, like I've read all three books and I'm totally not at all excited about the next two movies. Like, the books are really solid, but the movies are like, well, okay,
Starting point is 00:31:11 how are they gonna pull this off? They don't. At least Lenny Krabitz has a job for the next two years, or whatever. All right, people have said that we haven't watched Argo, apparently the more cinematicly inclined of our audience on Twitter are saying, we have to watch Argo.
Starting point is 00:31:24 I'll make commitment. I'll watch Argo before next week so I can at least talk about it What's that so we've got that we've got the tweet we got a tweets running right now and someone said seven psycho pass red dawn There's a couple of things floating around is red dawn out. Yeah red on this while they released it was showing for Josh for you Jake Drake and Josh and also Thor yeah Thor and Josh from great I remember red dawn as being the first ever PG-13 movie. Really? I think Grimlins was.
Starting point is 00:31:50 No. The rerelease of Grimlins. It was about the same time. Or was it? Or was it? Or was it Raiders? There was another movie. I think that was actually the first PG-13 movie that came out like a couple days, if not a week before red dawn.
Starting point is 00:32:02 Well, I'm going to go look it up on IMDB, jealous. Totally jealous. You should probably look it up on Google. Can we you know totally jealous spread it up on google we like max i am i yeah i thank you guys i wanted to make my one i'm to be a day joke to to jack there be a dick to get the podcast what's not as unless you're dick to me so let's see what this complete you know you don't come out here you guys were assholes to me last week by the way no we were fine no you were assholes i feel the terror even here and you guys are ass i was being nice to you and you're like yeah by the oh jacks be nice to me fuck this guy listen to this Anyway, listen moving on it gives you a talking point in your discussion, right? Yeah, just build the rage
Starting point is 00:32:33 Yeah, we're dick because we follow you on Twitter Public conversation that we talked about oh, yeah, okay. I was I was trying to think of which conversation you were talking about All right, which time you were being a dick and what you were referring to. Anyway, Red Dawn, first PG-13 movie is released. Oh, it is. Okay. That was 1984. Man, I love that movie as a kid.
Starting point is 00:32:55 I wasn't born yet. So bad. Who is the attacking force in Red Dawn in this one? In the new one. North Korea, I think. North Korea, they just lost a missile over Japan just now. Oh, it is now? Yeah, they lost a missile over Japan just now oh it is now yeah They left it with over Japan
Starting point is 00:33:07 Before I don't need to have really let's see I didn't want to into the ocean in between them hasn't Japan, but there are no Yeah, there was the plot that they had for that game Homefront yeah, I thought they did a real good job like creating that fictional world where North Korea rises to power and then Attacks and occupies the US. Yeah, they had a bunch of like the news articles and stuff in that game. We're pretty funny Yeah, you know, they're hilarious. I was laughing. It was funny. It was really funny I knew them cat. All right, so we have eight movies right now. All right. I'm gonna list them again See if the same thing else y'all want a cut
Starting point is 00:33:41 Avengers dark night rises I think I'll see all one. All right. Avengers, Dark Knight Rises, Reckett Ralph, Lincoln, Looper, The Gray, Hobbit, Silver Lines Playbook. I would knock off Lincoln and Silver Lines Playbook. I've heard nothing but great about Silver Lines Playbook,
Starting point is 00:33:57 but I think it's like aside from Bernie, none of us has seen it, right? Well, yeah, but if you feel sorry about it, I'll watch it. It was my personal favorite movie of the year. Oh, wow. But I also like The Gray a lot. Yeah. If you feel sorry about it, I'll watch it. It was my personal favorite movie of the year. Oh wow But I also like the gray a lot Yeah, I mean, I was at the best movie like I think people should see it. How about that? I'm sure I'm gonna hold out for that part parts of the gray are so amazing Yep, and it's just like but it's definitely a guy movie, you know come you're absolutely right
Starting point is 00:34:19 Yeah, it's like one of the things was like yeah, I think there were the way there are two women in that movie Total ones the bartender and the other is the uh oh and the other is the uh the wife right so yeah Joe the cat man that guy is awesome all right so uh so I but I would knock out Lincoln because Lincoln does anybody want to defend Lincoln have it seen it all right he's a cool dude I like $5 bills $5 dollars dollar, y'all. Penny's a great. Spoiler, he wins and then he dies. He wins and then he loses. Spectacular.
Starting point is 00:34:50 Yeah. Moral of the story. Don't go watch plays. Exactly right. Don't go to the last year. All right, so that leads us with seven. Is everyone happy with seven? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:59 I can be happy with seven. I mean, I've got my winner already in my head. Well, no one cares about that. I'm just asking if you're happy with seven. Check the tool, boys. Everybody. I'm just saying yes. I'm happy with seven. I mean I've got my winner already in my head. Well no one cares about that. I'm just asking if you're happy with seven. Check the tool. Oh, yes, everybody. I'm just saying yes. I'm happy with seven. Okay. Geez. All right. Great. Seven. Seven movie. Yes, it was. Go over the list. One more time. Please. Avengers. Yes. Dark Knight rises. Wreck it Ralph. Loper. The Gray. Hobbit. Silver Lining's playbook. That's seven. Well, I couldn't, uh, what about amazing Spider-Man?
Starting point is 00:35:26 Anybody want to say that? No, because dude, so I saw amazing Spider-Man at the Drafthouse. And before the movie started, they showed a cartoon. Like they have like the Drafthouse's these pre-roll things. And they showed a cartoon of amazing Spider-Man. Are you talking? Are you talking? Nice.
Starting point is 00:35:41 Open this for me. And, uh, so they showed a, like in the pre-roll, they showed this cartoon and it was the amazing Spider-Man. It was the entire movie told in a cartoon that it'd come out probably 30 years ago. It was like the whole, like so they spoiled the whole movie. Wow. And then like the movie spoiled a comic book movie for you from a comic book character that's been around for like 60 years.
Starting point is 00:36:02 But I mean they showed, they showed the episode that was the plot of the movie. Get your pumps. I guess so. I hate when they do that. They actually did that in front of no country for old men. They basically ruined no country for old men. Really?
Starting point is 00:36:16 On their pre-roll. That bothered me. That's a fantastic movie, by the way. Oh, man. I really fucking love that movie. That's still in the balltime. I still watch it on a pretty regularrange basis. Antoine Sugar, yeah. That haircut.
Starting point is 00:36:28 You know, that haircut, that he did not want that haircut. And the Prince Valley. The old cut? He's a Prince Valley. Yeah, haircut. That didn't. And exactly. He did not want the haircut.
Starting point is 00:36:40 And it was the Cohen brothers. And they said, this is going to work. Trust us. He said, no, no, no. and then they like put him in a wig and he goes, okay, yeah, that's what he says. Yeah, it's so creepy. Isn't it? Yeah, like, like bangs like almost a girl's haircut. Yeah. Yeah. All right. So you guys want to move on to the next topic? Sure. Let's do it. Hey, can we sit around movies? Let me talk about some movies for. Okay. So of that. Okay. So there's 24-hour film festival that I went to, button on the phone. It's sometimes a split between new
Starting point is 00:37:09 movies that are about to come out and vintage movies as well. What's up, Gavin? He's just excited to start talking again, I think. What happened? That is my crystal book. Oh, he's okay. Talk to him. That's not the worst thing that's ever happened. No, okay. So, yeah. So, being out, they have a lot of
Starting point is 00:37:23 classic vintage films. They also have like the new ones. That's where you're talking about. Right happened. Okay, so yeah, so being out, they have a lot of classic vintage films. They also have like the new ones as we're talking about. Right. And this year was in particular a very vintage heavy year. And there was a lot of quite frankly excuses to why that was. Harry said the last year some people tweeted about movies they weren't supposed to tweet about. And then that got him in trouble that they couldn't show the remake of Evil Dead this year. Oh, yeah. As a result of stuff like that. Honestly, I mean, Evil Dead,
Starting point is 00:37:46 if the producer of Evil Dead don't wanna show that movie, to that audience, that's a huge movie. Yeah. That's all film bloggers and everything. They were going nuts. Yeah, that's their core fan base. And they're like the advocates for that series. Right.
Starting point is 00:37:59 And those types of movies. Evil Dead as a franchise or as a movie was not made of film festivals. I mean, that's not where that movie got popular. It got popular colleges. Cult, you know, VHS right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. So, that's a stupid thing for them not to show them. Yeah, Beanat has been a launching point for a lot of films.
Starting point is 00:38:11 Like, pitch black was shown to the very first Beanat. And Vin Diesel came for it. And they actually, like, that was before he was anyone, before he was Vin Diesel. And that got so much buzz behind that movie. They were able to launch it wider than they were supposed to. But certainly was Vin Diesel by that point. Well, I mean, you know, but like, no one, you know, only people in the world know that they're not going to be anyone before he was Vindiesel and that got us so much buzz behind that movie they were a lot they were able to launch it wider than they were supposed to
Starting point is 00:38:26 he was Vindiesel by that point well I mean you know but like no one you know only people and people knew him as the the voice of Iron Giant and that was really it like he hadn't done anything else yet so it was kind of like well and that launched that like we saw snatch before that got released in America I remember that was a big one that was one of those like holy crap got a lot of buzz off that Vindiesel's well name is Mark Sinclair Vincent. Oh wow. Who needs a clear huh? Yeah. But uh, yeah, so this year they showed the Hobbit. These were the new movies. They showed a fucking incredible horror movie that is PG 13 and I have no idea how it is called Mama.
Starting point is 00:39:00 Uh, it's about two kids that are basically abandoned in the woods. And this spirit takes care of them or something, I shouldn't say spirit, something takes care of them until they're a little older. And then you can see the trailer, just I'll cover the trailer. It's fucking, it's one of the scariest ghost things I've ever seen. You know, like, I think ghosting quotes, because I don't even know what that's a ghost.
Starting point is 00:39:21 So it's a game, a little twerro directed it, or he produced it. He produced it, and he showed up. Well, it's like, is it Guillermo? Guillermo Toro directed it or he produced it? He produced it and he showed up. And I, you know what, I can't say his damn name. Guillermo. Guillermo Dottoro. Guillermo. Guillermo.
Starting point is 00:39:33 Greg. Guy talked for like 30 minutes and I wish he would talk for another 30. He's funny is shit. Yeah. Everything that guy says is funny. Like, yeah, you make fun of me because I can't say one, but you can't say Guillermo.
Starting point is 00:39:44 Who's laughing now, asshole? Say the whole name, say the whole name. Guillermo Del Toro. Okay, that's funny. Yeah, you make fun of me because I can't say one, but you can't say Guillermo who's laughing now asked. Say the whole name, say the whole name. Guillermo del Toro. Okay, that's good. Wow. All right. You're the guy you were more Hispanic than me. I have a cousin named Guillermo.
Starting point is 00:39:53 Oh, I have a cousin named El Toro. No way. But he's got a movie coming out called Pacific Rim, which is apparently about giant robots fighting giant monsters. That sounds awesome. Yeah, that's it. I would watch that. Did they show a trailer of that?
Starting point is 00:40:05 That'd be not. Yeah. We saw a trailer of it. We were supposed to see a specific clip, but they had the wrong one. Oh, whoops. And then we saw clips of, uh, there's a new, I don't know her name. She's the heavy chick from Bridesmaids.
Starting point is 00:40:16 Oh, Melissa McCarthy. Melissa McCarthy. She was awesome. And she's in a movie with Sandra Bullock. We saw some clips from that. It looked really, really funny. Um, you saw 10 minutes of... Well, we saw a surveillance slow movie called Bolt Heads,
Starting point is 00:40:28 which was a buddy cop movie. What was it called? Bullet to the head. Bullets to the head. Don't worry about it. My vice is, don't worry about it. Just forget it. I just didn't enjoy it.
Starting point is 00:40:36 And it's also, that's a tough spot, because we saw that movie last. So we saw it noon on Sunday after we've been up for 24 hours. I don't know if it would make a difference. Yeah, I mean, they always hold the last movie. They usually have something really big. Like we saw Tron at the IMAX one year. We saw 300.
Starting point is 00:40:52 We saw 300. We saw was passion the last film? Yes. When Mel Gibson showed up for that. That was the year of Return of the King. They showed Return of the King. Yeah, and then what are some of the final movies? I don't know, but there have been some great sort of closing films. So it's kind of tough.
Starting point is 00:41:07 I remember we saw Ed Gain one year, but it was a prescription for this being that we saw had got me new films. That's it. We saw Hobbit. We saw Mama and we saw Bullock to the head. Wow. And we saw some movie in the middle of the night that we're not allowed to talk about. It doesn't really matter too much because you know most people 99.99% of the population is not going to see that movie. Yeah. It's just kind of ridiculous. It's always tough.
Starting point is 00:41:28 Yeah, but we're not so stuck about it. So anyway, but one of the things that we saw, we didn't see the full movie, but we saw a clip, a 10-minute clip of World War Z. Interesting. When does that come out? You mean a movie that's based on the book World War Z that has nothing to do with World War Z? Okay. Now, I kind of have a to move you that's based on the book World Warsy that has nothing to do with World Warsy. Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:45 Now, I kind of have a what's that or world wars that or world war is that depending on what you're seeing now I don't typically talk about things that I don't like. Like if I don't like something, I won't just sit there and
Starting point is 00:41:57 bash it. Right. You know, like I was just kind of saying I didn't like the aesthetic of the hobbit, but I did like the movie. The hobbit. And you should definitely go
Starting point is 00:42:03 see the hobbit. The story's great. The action's great, everything, but you have to be careful about choosing which version of you're going to see because you might get turned off by the aesthetic. That's what happened to me. But the movie is fucking phenomenal. It's easily one of the best movies of the year.
Starting point is 00:42:15 And there's sequences in there that are just amazing. If you know the story of The Hobbit, there is a scene between Bilbo and another character that he meets for the first time. That's a very landmark part of that franchise and they fucking nailed it. Really? They got it perfect. And apparently that was the first thing they shot according to Peter Jackson.
Starting point is 00:42:35 But anyway, I was very critical of the World Wars e-trailer because we had recommended the book when Audible was our sponsor. Absolutely. And I talked about the book and Audible was our sponsor. Absolutely. And I talked about the book and how much I loved it and heard they were making a movie out of it. Then I saw the trailer and said, whoever made this movie clearly never read the book. Never read the goddamn book.
Starting point is 00:42:53 Okay, after watching the 10-minute clip that they showed it but no more, I now wanna kind of retract that a little bit. Because, I'm not backpulling, I'm not seeing it. If I was so critical of it. I should be I guess equally It's only 10. Okay. Okay He made his judgment based on a two-minute Okay, okay, but there's one thing in that trailer you see and there's like well that movie spot. What is it?
Starting point is 00:43:14 It's the fast goddamn zombies. Okay, that's what I agree with you Okay, so the section we saw and it looked like most of the trailer was from the section It's the scene on the city street with Brad Pitt its kids in the car That's the scene we saw. We saw that full scene, 10 minutes. Some of it had incomplete digital effects and all that. It was pretty rough. But apparently, have you read the book?
Starting point is 00:43:32 Yes. For those of you who have read the book and are worried about the translation of World War Z from the page to the screen, it appears as though they have taken the interpretation of that initially they thought the outbreak was South African rabies. Do you remember that?
Starting point is 00:43:48 Yes, yes. And they're calling it that in those scenes, they're calling it rabies, it's rabies outbreak. So I think the interpretation they're taking is that initially it is very much like rabies the disease. And the people are agitated and violent and fast. And it gave me hope that that's the initial part of it. And then later they become slower as they decay. As the body of the case and breaks down.
Starting point is 00:44:08 Right. And if you remember those early scenes in World War Z, early encounters with the zombies, it was the great panic scenes. Mm-hmm. They were going from car to car and all that. And there really wasn't that talk of them being super slow, except for the mom who tears the head off the one zombie attacking your kid in the bedroom. Do you remember that?
Starting point is 00:44:25 And that was a zombie that had walked out of the ocean. So maybe it had been, yeah, it was covered in seaweed and stuff. And that's why she was able to pull its head off. No, I mean, there are so many amazing set pieces in World War Z. I mean, so many great individual stories that I'm just terrified that they're going to cherry pick all these great bits and then throw Brad Pitt in the middle of it and be like, oh, well there you go And it's like there's that scene. Oh, there's that scene. Well, they're gonna have to take stuff anyway. What if you can't fit all of those stories in a two hour movie? That's why I think that that shouldn't it should not be a movie that which is like they start fast and slow as they decompose, which
Starting point is 00:45:08 that's a big leap. I mean, you cannot have the hope New Mexico scene where they can't start to fight back. You can't have that scene. You can't have donkers. You can't have that. I mean, the scene in New York where they're in the VIP suite like that. I mean, well, I guess you can kind of have that. I mean, that makes sense for people being fast.
Starting point is 00:45:24 Yep. So those early scenes, you could see them being faster. Yeah. I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, whole idea, I mean, even like, it's kind of like immersion, where it's just these overwhelming numbers and you have no chance. And that's what the sort of feeling I got from the book, which is like, there is this mass outbreak and we're all doomed. And it's like, you know, this is an overwhelming panic. I mean, the great panic. And then slowly over time, you know, they're able to kind of, you know, re-assess what they're going to do. I'm like, all right, we have to fight back and we're going to do it this way.
Starting point is 00:46:01 And I mean, there's so many great stories. I mean, the story about the director, who makes the film about the campus that they save themselves. That alone could be an hour long feature. Like on HBO. That's also well into the outbreak. Yeah, that's actually been holed up for a while.
Starting point is 00:46:15 Yeah, because there's so many awesome stories. I mean, the pilot, the jumper pilot, who gets stuck in Louisiana. It's like, I want to see those stories told. And from what I'm guessing, I't seen any I've only seen the trailer You can't tell those stories. I don't know that you could really tell the story of the pilot I think it's almost a twilight. No, it's so it would be so slow and solitary It's just one person trying to survive, you know and talking on the radio
Starting point is 00:46:39 Yeah, but I mean I think you could make a 20 minute bit a band-of-brother style thing where it's like you're telling a little smaller story Yeah, I'm talking. I'm talking you could tell it in some fashion. You could not tell it as part of a 120 minute movie Yeah, I agree with you. That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. This is exactly what I'm saying Here's the one last thing I want to say about this to this why they gave me faith is you touched on it You called the first part the great panic Yeah, it's a major section of the book when the world says to fall apart and they call that the Great Panic. That scene, they chose to show it to City. I always envision that my head is being on a freeway like coming out of a city, almost like those promotional images they use for
Starting point is 00:47:13 walking dead of all the cars come out, but this was actually taking place in a city. Man, they nailed the panic part. I mean, they must have had, it looks like I'm sure some of them are CG, it looked like they had about 20,000 extras. And people are fucking running. And like, running over cars and trying to get into things, like people are running, and then the zombies are mixing there, and you can't tell what's what.
Starting point is 00:47:35 They nailed the panic part of it. That really set a lot to me. That gave me a lot more faith than what Daisy had. Or World War II. I just think that movie could be made like, is not World War Z. Like, that doesn't like that. I mean, the whole idea of fast zombies is ruined that whole movie for me. I can't get over that.
Starting point is 00:47:53 I mean, I'm gonna see it, but I just, I, just to me, if they're fast, the whole movie, I will agree with you. Okay. But I'm, I'm holding on hope that they don't stay fast the entire time. Like, they become like decayed and they become like just overwhelming force of endurance that you can never beat. Yeah, and some of the things you said, like New Mexico and Yonkers, those are totally like slow, unwinnable battle kind of scenarios.
Starting point is 00:48:15 Or even like the, like when they're talking about how like they're repopulating people, where it's just they're putting people like together in houses and like you don't even know who's going to live with you. And the guy's like the guy in the wheelchair going from house to house checking and like, you know, you know, it's all about that. Yeah, it's great. It's like stuff like that. It's like, you can't tell that in a hundred twenty minute movie, but you could tell that
Starting point is 00:48:33 story. Maybe. That was a lot better. You had a cherry pick like he said, you got a pick which I mean, there's that. There's like the guys under water who are like fixing the power lines and stuff and like zombies are telling the French dudes. Yeah, I mean, there's so many amazing stories. The submarine in China.
Starting point is 00:48:46 We're gonna start to turn to an inside joke here, though, just for people who haven't read the book. Yeah, if you haven't read the book, go and read the book. It's amazing. They really are. The audio book is great too. The audio book's a little shorter,
Starting point is 00:48:55 but it's still fit. Well, the audio book, they have such a great cast. They have Mark Campbell in it, and they have, which are clansky brown, isn't it, too? Alan Alders in it too. Alan Alders in the picture. Yeah, we talked about it back when,
Starting point is 00:49:03 when Aldable was a sponsor. Sorry, sorry, that was a, I've been, I've been interested in hearing this stuff. Yeah. and the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the
Starting point is 00:49:11 the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the
Starting point is 00:49:19 the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the
Starting point is 00:49:16 the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the
Starting point is 00:49:23 the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the I think it's a summer movie. Man, I'll tell you a movie that I was really hoping we'd see and we didn't see was, I was hoping we were going to see warm bodies, which is a zombie apocalypse movie told from the perspective of a zombie. And it, another one called Ender's Game, which is already completed, totally. What's done? Yeah, and it was made independently
Starting point is 00:49:37 and then it was picked up by a distributor. I don't know who. And they just put it into a slot where they had availability. I know that. So it's going to come out in November. That's what happened on like Red Dawn. Like Red Dawn had been done for like three years. I know that. So it's going to come out in November. That's what happened like Red Dawn. Like Red Dawn had been done for like three years. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:47 Yeah, but the reason I'm, well, yeah. Okay, that's crazy. So I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about that.
Starting point is 00:49:57 I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about that. I just want to talk about movies. Hold on, before I move on, I was going to mention, I want to remind everyone that this podcast
Starting point is 00:50:05 is brought to you by Onnet and the flagship product Alpavrain. Yes, thumbs up. If you haven't tried it, this really is a time to try it. They've upped the discount code from 10% to 15%. If you use promo code rooster, I love the stuff. I take it every day. It gives me incredibly vivid dreams. In fact, he's gone, but Chris was taking it to help him focus for editing a simple walk.
Starting point is 00:50:29 He said that at first, he was like, he said, I don't know if he'll feel anything. He was stuffed, you know, bogus, and he was like zoomed in. He was like, he was like on fire, just like a topple of his ear. And he waited to put it to the editing part. Now while he was on the simple log. Oh, if he was the kind of thing. No, no, no. He was like punch that at like shades coming after. Carry him.
Starting point is 00:50:47 It's the tag. But yeah, if you haven't tried it, there's definitely the time to do it with a 15% off code. Use promo code rooster. And they've got, it's a great product, great customer service. If you're unhappy, they've got money back there
Starting point is 00:50:57 and tease on it. Got nothing to lose, give it a shot. It's great stuff. Sweet. Anyway, sorry, just had to, had to start it up. Get started. I think we should put the nail in the coffin on movies and move on. Yes, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:51:08 Okay, what do we got next? Do you want to move on to the best downloadable game content? So that includes downloadable games. Yes, deal. Why would I read a book that Jack just read on the air? Because you can IMD be it later. There you go. All right.
Starting point is 00:51:23 Yeah, my, my pickings were kind of thin here. Well, I can think of two right off top of my head. Go ahead and be huge. Let me guess. Trials. That's one. And I don't know the other. Walking dead.
Starting point is 00:51:36 Oh, right. I have that in best game on my list. I mean, technically it fits in the best game. But I mean, it is a downloadable game. Actually, the retail release. We're talking about today. But I think it's just the downloadable games like nothing that's an interesting that is a downloadable game that's how it was
Starting point is 00:51:50 launched that's what I would know if it had not been successful it would have stated downloadable game well I'm gonna move it then to downloadable game content okay okay okay yeah trials trials evolution is incredible one of my favorite games this year I got to throw one into downloadable games just because it came out in the 360 this year. That's Minecraft. Yeah, Minecraft. That's also one best game for me.
Starting point is 00:52:10 I'm going to have one more on. Work your categories. Is there no single retail version of Minecraft? I don't believe so. It's all digital. Right. Yeah. Did they give them away at minecon?
Starting point is 00:52:23 Yeah, everyone who attended minecon got a free copy of minecraft like a little physical cop Well, no like a DLC code you entered on the Mojang website. No like this. A physical copy would have been a really cool item I mean just like because there's no physical Copyrights So they they gave everyone a like a downloadable code a Cape for your Xbox 360 avatar that's got a blue cape with the pickaxe. Oh, that's cool. And an in-game PC cape for your character as well.
Starting point is 00:52:48 So the same thing. So the cape for your Avatar, what article of clothing is that? Is it accessories? I don't know. I haven't been able to find it. Huh. Is it a prop, maybe? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:52:58 Proper Xbox 360 Avatar. Do you mean your Minecraft Avatar? I think it's 360. It's like 360 Avatar. Yeah, it's probably like an accessory. So, or maybe you just go to like Minecraft, like awards. Like you know, you have awards for you. Yeah, I didn't see it, but I think it was. Jack's gonna try to look it up.
Starting point is 00:53:11 I had a weird issue where it was like I am assigned to other consults. I logged into another scene and then I forgot. You might have to read down a little bit. Go down with history. So other things I have here for best downloadable game content are misrepend area for World of Warcraft. Okay. Portal 2's perpetual testing. It is a prop by the way and I have right here. It's a creeper, one or a...
Starting point is 00:53:31 I thought mine was a cape. It's a cape but with a creeper on it. Oh is it a creeper on it? Yeah, red creeper. Oh sweet. I thought it would just say yellow pickaxe. I don't know. That's what I'm showing. It's awesome. Okay, oh this... I got a video here. the video. Oh here we go I'm muted. Yeah, shut up guys. Oh is it the So I don't know where to go I don't know what's going on creeper hat is that it? It says in C as a cape. Yeah, but I mean you can just buy yeah
Starting point is 00:53:58 That's the one you can just buy that well if you can buy that one I'm assuming it's gonna be similar to that well It's a prop. Yeah, I'm really the one I'm looking at you the creeper one is the Mankind 2011 prop. Yeah, I think the one for 2012 was a blue cape with a gold pickaxe on the back. Nice. Let's watch the sky ride the pig.
Starting point is 00:54:12 There we go. Okay, so, Missa Penderia, Portal 2 perpetual testing, Skyrim Dawnguard. There's a... I also put Trials Evolution, Origin of Pain. Did you have four Trials? Yeah, yeah. Because I added like another 30 maps. Yeah, I was so excited. A bicycle. There's a I also put trials evolution origin of pain. The year for four trials. Yeah, yeah, because I added like another 30 maps. Yeah, I was so exposed bicycle.
Starting point is 00:54:29 Yeah, it was like 400 points. Yeah, super cheap. Like five bucks. And I also added Halo 4 Spartan ops. Even though it's like how about it? Weird hybrid. Well, technology is DLC. That's downloadable content.
Starting point is 00:54:39 Yeah, it's OK. But I mean, technically the first part knots were on the disk, aren't they? Yeah, it's downloadable. It's episodic contact every week. It's just like it falls in the exact same category as well. Okay, yeah, yeah. How about that game journey at PlayStation 3?
Starting point is 00:54:50 That's a great one. Have you played it? I have not played it. And it is down a little bit. People are raving about that game. It's one of the PS3's haven't played it, but like, people like Game of the Year, it's like, oh, for a Grammy, I think. The soundtrack in that game.
Starting point is 00:55:01 If you think of anything, you can just yell it out. Yeah. So, yeah, Journey 1 PS3 game think of anything, you can just yell it out. Yeah, so it's a rough one. Yeah, Journey 1 PS3 game of the VGA's last week. Yeah. Does anybody have anything else? As far as downloadable stuff. Mine's just walking dead in Minecraft.
Starting point is 00:55:15 No, I am, there's a DLC coming out for Assassin's Creed III. It's the tyranny of King George. Yeah, when is that coming out? I said I was on January, I think. But I have not played the Crimson map pack yet. No, we just got that earlier this week. Yeah, that just that came out right. Yeah, you know what I want to do.
Starting point is 00:55:31 I want to add on there and this is a weird one. I want to add on for Borderlands 2 shift codes for Borderland 2. Shift code? There is special special promotional thing. For the Golden Keys? Yeah, the Golden Keys that Borderlands did. And not necessarily their DLC that they did, special special promotional thing. For the golden keys? Yeah, the golden keys. The borderlands did. And not necessarily their DLC that they did,
Starting point is 00:55:46 but they did these promotional keys that you could get anywhere. Like they would post them on forums, and they would only be good for X amount of usage. Like sometimes it was 10,000. And sometimes you're only good for two hours. And if you would get these and use them, you get a golden key which will let you open a special chest
Starting point is 00:56:03 in borderlands too, which would give you a really cool weapon. The smart thing that they did I felt like with those ship codes was it was an interesting way for them to push their social media because you could get it by liking them on Facebook or following them on Twitter. So it was a way for them to pump their audience because everyone wanted these codes so badly. That I hated. Oh really? That part of it I couldn't stand. Because I followed them as That part of it I couldn't stand. Could I follow them? Like the result of it.
Starting point is 00:56:26 Exactly right. And it's like there were some people like there wasn't a borderlands account that you followed. You had to follow a dude. Oh, no, but then they transitioned away from that to Gearbox software. Did they? Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:56:38 That was what they should have done to begin with. At first it was Randy Pitchford. And they said the reason was they were stress testing the system to see how much capacity it could take because when he first started tweeting it it would break every time. So then as they they trended as they saw how their traffic was then once they could handle the capacity they moved it to Gearbox software. Okay very much. Which is like a soft rollout. That was great though. They're like almost every day it's like oh here here's a key. Yeah here's another awesome weapon. Yeah. Shout to Randy Pitchard. Which is, is this, please? Especially for Borderlands 2.
Starting point is 00:57:07 I mean, that's, it's all about the guns. You can just get a really overpowered gun. It's not going to break the game for anybody else if you have a badass gun. It does, it's like a co-op dude. Yeah, it totally. Like, there's some sort of cheap ways to get around things and all that. But so what? Yeah, it is, I mean, I know competitive.
Starting point is 00:57:23 Like, I jumped from level 18 to level 50 in about 30 minutes. You with some with some friends helping me out and it's kind of stuff like, you know, I mean, you don't have to do that. You don't have to, but you know, you have to get out of level. They patched it, but for a while there was like a shield and a gun you could be. The beast. The beast. The beast. The beast. The beast. Like a scalable conference call shotgun. I could kill Tara Morpheus, the invincible and like. Three. Yeah, you can beat in like 10 seconds like it hitting hit. Yeah, it was ridiculous. It's still fun though.
Starting point is 00:57:47 Yeah, no, that game's awesome. And the plot's great. And like, I love the characters in the game. It's a great game. It's definitely a strong contender for best game. Yeah, okay. All right, you wanna go into that one? So, we're still talking about download.
Starting point is 00:57:56 I'm gonna ask a Twitter, if you know any best downloadable games that we're not thinking of for downloadable content, please let us know. What are we forgetting about? So, but yeah, yeah, so like, I don't know as far as DLC goes. I mean, were there any map hacks or anything for like Black Ops 2 or Black Ops has any map hacks yet. Just Halo just had us this week. The Borderlands DLC is good. Can't think of any other ones up top of my head. Yeah, I don't know like I am. I've been so out of it with DLC. 1-2-3-3-4-5-6-7-8-9. We got nine on here. We had seven in the previous category. Are there two you want to drop off?
Starting point is 00:58:26 Has anybody played Happy Wars at all? Anybody? Happy Wars? I saw it at Hacks. It's the free at Hacks. Oh, it's fun. I didn't play it, though. And apparently a lot of people are playing it alike,
Starting point is 00:58:37 and so, but I want to play Journey before next week, because that seems to be a big miss. Yeah, people are really like, best game ever made. To me, just looking at them, like, I'm just walking in the desert. I know there's something I gotta be missing. Like that can't just be it. You can't just walk through a desert for three hours. Yeah, you can.
Starting point is 00:58:53 I mean, I feel like I could. I mean, Mr. Penderia, can you read the list? Missa Penderia, Portal 2 perpetual testing, Skyrim Don Guard, Halo Force Bartonan ops trials evolution trials evolution Origin of pain borderlands two shift codes walking dead Minecraft for the 360 and journey See this is not a one for me that I feel like you know trials. I have that with a bullet I mean trials is a fucking solid game. Yeah, good contender
Starting point is 00:59:22 That's right. I don't know if both trials and their DLC should be on there. Yeah. So that's kind of double dipping. Despite the fact that DLC was so comprehensive. I would know. Yeah, I would lump origin of pain and trials evolution kind of together as one. Okay. Well, that will reduce the spot one.
Starting point is 00:59:36 But no, that's redlings, man. Those guys are awesome. Absolutely. I need to go visit them. They're out in, I think Finland. I think so. Yeah, well, they're European. But they were, they were sponsored the podcast not too long
Starting point is 00:59:45 They were you can get the free trial for the demo for trials evolution on Xbox live marketplace Yeah, I mean the fact that we're doing we have two episodes a week I'm gonna thumbs up from Brandon. Oh look they got a talk back welcome to the podcast But can I talk? Time to wrap up now Just the fact that we have two shows consistent shows a week in trials I mean like we got the you know trials pig and we have trials files every week and I love that Great. Okay, so I feel like I can erase Mr. Pandaria from here. I love someone. Yeah, I don't want to defend it
Starting point is 01:00:16 Bring it down the side. I'm looking to one two three four five Wait, one two three too many beers four five seven eight one two three. Too many beers. Four five seven eight. Got some or Gavin. You talk. Somebody on Twitter is asking about Hitman Sniper Challenge. I didn't play. I just played the full absolution. That was the pre-order game, right? Yeah. Yeah. Gavin is our resident. I am in love with Hitman. You played Hitman to me, that, right? That came to me. It's a good game. And it's... I'm so excited to talk now. It's been able to talk for a while.
Starting point is 01:00:46 All right. It is a great one. Here's a game that was near and dear to our hearts this year that nobody mentioned, which is a non-retail downloadable game. Slender. Oh, yeah. That was this year. That was huge hit this year. Put on the list.
Starting point is 01:00:58 Okay. Yes, sir. Jesus Christ. It's a fun game. I played it. It's an interesting game. Did you play it alone with the light stuff? No, but the thing about cylinder is like once you play it twice, do you go back to it? It's really not a great game Yeah, yeah, it's like it's cool. Put on the lid We talked about it. How about that game? game of the
Starting point is 01:01:23 the the the the the the the the
Starting point is 01:01:40 the the the the It was talked about. Okay, it's like it's got to get rid of one more. Portal 2 perpetual testing. Oh, it's... Sorry, that's an email. You want to bust out the PS3 and play PS All Stars this week? Yeah, I get my goal. It's the way Journey and PS All Stars are.
Starting point is 01:01:53 That's a retail game. Super Sony Brothers. Is it a downloadable retail game? What's that? All Stars now? No, it's a retail. It's a retail. Sorry. Skyrim, Don Guard, Halo Force, Barton Ops, Borderlands 2 shift codes, trials, walking
Starting point is 01:02:07 dead, Minecraft 360 journey. I feel like all of these are really solid. I got a perpetual testing out of that list. Downlatable games, Bay Z. That's a mod. No, but it's armature. Yeah, but how does it qualify? Did you download it? I did. But it's steam. Like steam has retail copies. Like you if I did, I think this catch will be like the same one day. Yeah, but it's a mod though. It's not
Starting point is 01:02:33 like we're not talking about armature. We're talking about days. You're right. I'll put Daisy on here. Yeah, it's all right. Yeah, absolutely. Like if it was a mod for Halo 4, we wouldn't talk about that as being a retail game
Starting point is 01:02:43 because you need Halo 4 to play it. We would just say that it's the mod, right? Specifically. Like Gary's mod would that be a downloadable title, right? And he wouldn't call it like a off shoot of, right? We thrown in half-life. Farming, simile, I think that's a retail game. That's retail.
Starting point is 01:02:59 Yeah, retail. We're adding shit. I like portal to perpetual testing, but I feel like we can. I don't think it was the strongest in the other one. I can't believe I forgot about that. Black ops 2 zombies? That's not done. No, that's not the consequence.
Starting point is 01:03:13 That's the case. Might as well be a game at this point. All right, I'm at point now where I'm watching. I'm watching Twitter. Seven. That's seven. So those are our nominees. Skyrim, Don guard, Hillilla4 Spartan Ops,
Starting point is 01:03:25 Borderlands 2 shift codes, Pryals, Walking Dead, Minecraft 360, Journey and Daisy. Forms 3, 4, 5, 6, 8. How am I counting this wrong? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 6, 8, 6, 8, Jacket. I would probably... I would probably...
Starting point is 01:03:39 I don't think any more, because I'm a great... I love the idea of the shift codes, but I'll probably knock it off that list. No, I got to defend the shift codes. Okay. It was like such an interesting idea. It was codes, but I'll probably knock it off that list. No, I got I got to defend the shift codes. Okay. It was like such an interesting idea. It was it was a new concept. I will give you that.
Starting point is 01:03:49 If I'm looking at that list personally, I would remove dog guard. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Listen, I think the DLC is always going to fall out to actual original games. Yeah. And I think that's why we created this. Well, that's one of the reasons we created this category.
Starting point is 01:04:03 What do you think is the best DLC of all time? Alright, no, just don't fucking do real me. I'm getting success at Don Gardoffer here. Nice, alright. Best DLC of all time. Best DLC, gay Tony. Gay Tony is down there. No, I like to guess what you should up, I'm gonna immediately start a contemplating.
Starting point is 01:04:17 Well, I have to figure out. Shut up. Best DLC of all time. Put it on the list. Put it on the list. Put the best DLC of all time on our list now. Gratch it off. Got best DLC, let me think about that best deal see you all time
Starting point is 01:04:27 Come back to me. Okay. I'll come right back at you. I would have said the Passing in leopard dead except they fucked it up because it really stood for two games and you had to buy it twice It was released for both titles leopard dead and we get it by twice for each game broke two games perfect achievements that I had Oh, you know what you did you re-perfect them, man. There you go. It's why I would say undead nightmare Yeah, that's the brand just that I'm right here. Yeah, that's that one's pretty damn awesome Yeah, what about the right? Yeah, I feel like there were some really solid ones in there the arrival was good in that Uh, that was the last one right? What was the one where you were kind of being stealthy in that mansion? No, because Sume's lost memory? Yeah, because that was toilet.
Starting point is 01:05:08 That was the last thing. That was the last thing. That's not one of my favorites. Alright. Yeah. I think it's undead nightmare. Do you think DLC suffers from that? Well, definitely the way we play games is we play a game, rinse it and do the run.
Starting point is 01:05:24 By the time the DLC comes out sometimes, I completely forgot that I hate that game. I don't know how to play Mass Effect. If I went back and played Mass Effect 2 DLC, at one point it was probably my favorite game. I probably would have said that. I can't play DLC at Mass Effect. Mass Effect 2 is one of the best games ever made. It is, it's really good. It's really good. Yeah, that's not bad. No, we certainly, play games differently than the majority than 99% of the players. We are the 1% real. The one percent. I think I tend to play games longer than all you guys though. I still play left for dead to on a regular basis. I would you do that? You'd already got 100 points. A thousand points. I'd like the game. A thousand points. It's a fun game, it's a game, sorry. It's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game. It's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game. It's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game. It's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game. It's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game, it's a game games back. I mean, that thing Halo Far Cry. The way I like playing games, I realized this was full at three. Just only play it when all the DLCs out. I just won a game and a
Starting point is 01:06:30 Bakes is tweeting put Bakes is Bakes can Bakes come out and go on Mike. She might be running tech. If she's free, Ali, if you want to come out, Bakes is saying lolly pop chains on a great game. It's a great game. There's no other coming out. That's retail though. Never mind, Ali. I didn't realize. That's retail though We're out we're just a terrible opinion and you should feel bad This is Ellie thanks everybody Ali what's going on in mortal for some reason?
Starting point is 01:06:56 That's my emotion in the background behind You're in scoff. What is that? It's a sushi scoff. I have a bacon scoff somewhere I really it's probably by the same person Your first appearance you're already getting yelled at by Gus I do mean to be a dick, but we're running short on time So tell us why you are wrong and think that live pop seems also great game Because it was there was References to Viking metal. There were references to really awesome music. Oh, let me put it down there.
Starting point is 01:07:28 Yeah, it's a piece. They played Jimmy Yiren, who was in Marlon's Self Indulgence. He did the boss battle music, which was awesome. So you're all about the music. So the brutalism is like your favorite game all around. You get to play a cheerleader that kills zombies with a chance. That's how I was going to play.
Starting point is 01:07:43 It's like Tara Strong. Yeah, and Tara Strong's awesome. chance. That's how I say it. I think Tara Strong. Yeah, and Tara Strong's awesome. She does the voices for my little pony. She did it. Thank you. Thank you. I'm not bad. I'm so excited.
Starting point is 01:07:53 You were responsible for the segment of the podcast. Yeah, what do you know? I really, I really, I really, I really need to not make a convincing case. Hey, Lollipot, how many games do you plan months? Do you think? Uh, like, mmm. How many games do you play a month do you think? Uh... Like... Mmm...
Starting point is 01:08:08 Alright! How do you make it all? Thank you! Alright! That was a big surprise! Thanks guys, I'll be here on night. I'll be in the kitchen. I'm not...
Starting point is 01:08:24 Well that's a great segue You you did it was your fault what I want to hear what you like people I you did not think you're welcome to the Fist lollipop chain. It's a good game. No, it's a good game. It's a retail game. Yeah, we're not talking my retail games yet She does stuff and Steve Piss or whatever. It's done a urine. Right. Clearly. I can do something. One can't have nice things. Okay. Best game. I've got a few listed here. Or a lens too. I've got a thanks, Gabbers. I've got a Mass Effect 3. Obviously. Diablo 3.
Starting point is 01:09:03 Civilization 5. No Dogs, Ftl. Well, you can get that on Steam, right? Yeah. Anyway, dis honored, XCOM, Assassin's Creed 3, Halo 4, Black Ops 2, Borderlands 2, Far Cry Cry 3 and Counter Strike Go. Jesus. Along the lines of journey and other things that we are just compelled or kind of obligated to mention. Isn't CSGO downloadable, by the way? What is it? There's a retail release. It does.
Starting point is 01:09:32 Oh, that's a good idea. I would say that's a retail. I mean, it seems a downloadable story. Yeah, okay. But, and that's a major title for them. Boys, boys. I would say CSGO would be retail. But League of Legends is a downloadable type.
Starting point is 01:09:41 That was this year? Was that last year? Whatever. We never talk about it. Like, because we don't play it. So, League of Legends, we're probably not going to not be able to talk. League of Legends has a downloadable type. That was this year? Was that last year? Whatever. We never talk about it, because we don't play it. So League of Legends were probably not going to not be. League of Legends has this weird, like, every time I think League of Legends, I think MLG guys,
Starting point is 01:09:52 and then I get mad. We tend to not be competitive gamers. Yeah, it's just not. Even like when we made the gauntlet, the shows that we put, or the games that we put in the gauntlet are not typically competitive games. Our guys are not playing Starcraft. We're playing games that our audience plays.
Starting point is 01:10:07 They're playing Mario. Can you imagine us playing Starcraft? I'm so more into it. No. Do you even Zerg? I don't even know that. I would destroy all of you. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:18 Yeah, he does. He does actually play Starcraft. But what is better at entertainment value? Being ridiculously good at games or just being funnier games? I think. Well, we've got a guy that's good at games or just being funnier games? I think. Yeah. Well, we've got a guy that's good at games. You should have seen Ray in the last zombies.
Starting point is 01:10:29 I saw it. It was ridiculous. It was ridiculous. It was incredible. But it's like, I don't know. It's something about watching people. It's like, well, I will never be that good ever. You know?
Starting point is 01:10:38 And that pisses you off. Yeah, it's going to like, well, I mean, I don't know. I've actually played quite a bit of League of Legends. Yeah. And I'm terrible at it. But even like the Starcraft guys, it's like, I watch it. Like, I have no idea what they're playing in different games than I've actually played quite a bit of League of Legends. Yeah. And I'm terrible at it. But even like the Starcraft guys, it's like I watch it. Like I have no idea what they're playing in different games than I've ever played. I mean, it's a little different.
Starting point is 01:10:51 I mean, like in actual sports, it's a little different. Like, well, I will never be as good a basketball, but I can still enjoy it. I still appreciate it. But they're doing stuff that is just like, I have no idea what I'm playing. Don't play stuff down. You can be kind of like a lawyer. You can stretch your arm in space, James. Gotta try.
Starting point is 01:11:04 I believe I can fly Mike Jordan. You can stretch your arm in space, James. Gonna try. I believe I can fly. I just have an argument recently that with Jeff, that Michael Jordan is more famous than David Beckham. Yeah, I would really. Would you really? Absolutely not true. Because David Beckham is the most famous man on planet Earth. Nope.
Starting point is 01:11:20 I'm true at all. Wrong. Maybe not here. Not famous in America. You know what matters most? America. Yeah? America is worth like five of Obama's probably more you put David Beckett Bug anywhere in like any of Asia. I think everyone's gonna know who that is white
Starting point is 01:11:35 Pushed by yeah, they were Barack Obama's probably more famous. Yeah, no, he's only been around like Is that mean is he It's a duration. There are people on the streets of America who thought it was funny that Mitt Romney was the first American black president. Wait, what? Whoa. You were telling me those people were going to who fucking David Beckham is. That's what you are. I'm sad.
Starting point is 01:11:57 People in this country don't know who Barack Obama is. People in like rural Africa know who Barack Obama is. Yeah. I see like stories about that. Yeah. But he's he's a very globally recognized person. I think more so than he's the president. He's the leader of the free world. But between the two Okay, let me cat the category really cool. Okay. I'm a famous person. My Jordan. My
Starting point is 01:12:17 My He is Jordan Coms the chaos. Well, itmotrophy. My favorite. It's the people. Do you think we can get a podcast award in the White House like on the show? People in America think the what America thinks is what the whole world thinks. Listen, you live in America now? Don't you know you can't say what people in America think? You're a person who lives in America. You're an American.
Starting point is 01:12:37 I'm tired of that yet. But I'm all. I'm British. It's a big accent. For me, David Beckham and Barack Obama. So in the best hearing category, I'm going to strikeTL because they should have been downloadable game. It was a fun game. I liked it, but it doesn't.
Starting point is 01:12:54 I can't beat that game on normal, dude. It drives me insane. I can't beat it on easy. I can't beat it on easy. I can get, I finally learned how to get to the final boss battle. Every play through I can get to the final boss battle now, but I cannot beat it. I, you don't care about spoilers, let's get it. So you bite the final boss battle.
Starting point is 01:13:15 I actually destroyed him. I was like, yes! Then he disappears like, oh no, he warped away. You have to fight him again. What? That's like Ghosts and Goblins. I'm going to beat him, do it again. Yeah, so then I had to go fight him again. I got to him again. I'm going to fight him again. What? That's like ghost and goblin. Like, I can beat him, do it again. Yeah, so then I have to go fight him again.
Starting point is 01:13:25 I got to him again. Damn, that's like, I just... This is not how every game works. You make the boss run away for three times, then you kill him at the end. This game... Bowser. I'm easy.
Starting point is 01:13:35 This game's not easy. It is fucking true. I'm showing you how to game it easy. It's like, no. Well, let's say, let's go. Ninja guys, right? Where it's like the early bosses in the game or like they end up popping up as like
Starting point is 01:13:45 mini bosses later in the games like you were a boss earlier now you're just like I'm like in that though. I'm like in suggestion if you have played FTL and you liked it a little bit go download an old game called Star Control 2 there's a game called Master's of Erkwan. Master's of Erkwan. Yes it's a it's somebody made a version. It's a free game. Somebody made it. It's a it's a recreation of Star Control 2. Gus and I have both played it and we both love that game. You can play it on the PC. You can play it on Mac. You can I
Starting point is 01:14:13 if you have a computer you can play it. Yeah, is that the game that we ended up next to the building? Yeah, the toys were well. We talked about that on the blogger. Yeah, great game. Star Control 2. Okay, so and and the Star Control 2 is like if someone wanted to make Mass Effect 2 in 1990.
Starting point is 01:14:27 That's the way I was describing it to someone. It's like going around the galaxy in a ship and collecting people and resources to fight. It's like a new hope before the add-in all the special features. Hey, Ray. Yes. As someone who's tremendous at video games, game of score is what? 300,000? 330,000?
Starting point is 01:14:44 What is the game you've played that you're really just not good at? You just like, like say Jack with Halo. Orful, right? What's your- I'm getting better at Halo for what it's worth. Absolutely, right. A lot of it's true. A lot of racing games are RPGs.
Starting point is 01:14:54 I'm awful at best. You don't play scarring or anything at all. Yeah. No. Like if Skyrim was competitive, they'd be awful. Gus looks so ready to get better at the time. Oh, apparently I liked you better when your microphone did it.
Starting point is 01:15:06 All right. All right. I'm just, all right. Okay. We'll run them a list one more time. My problem with Gus is where he's going to go. I just want to point out by even mentioning Barack Obama. Now there's a political discussion taking place. Like, we've had a political discussion.
Starting point is 01:15:15 We didn't have a political discussion. And those of you telling us that you don't care who Barack Obama is, you still fucking know who he is to shut up. Yeah. God damn it. We're not talking about politics. We're talking about fucking people. We're talking about celebrity Michael Jordan. Michael Jackson. Dorm chaos in the windy city. He's in the game. The best game. Tell me if there's any of these
Starting point is 01:15:32 you think I should knock on Murray and we'll argue about the immediate. I'm not gonna. Mass Effect 3 Diablo 3. I'm willing to knock that one off. Yeah, that tapered off very fast. Like, there were issues this like there was issues with the server and all that stuff at the beginning of the game and then it just kind of... I just didn't hold... Yeah, for the amount of hype for that game, I think. I played through it.
Starting point is 01:15:52 I think I played through that game four times. Yeah. Well, it's one of those things, well, did you really? Yeah, I mean, I really played the shit out of that game and I really was striking off. Yeah, see, one of the first dungeons I got into was glitched and I'm like, well, fuck this game. I think the odds are kind of... I might it off. Yeah, see, I, one of the first dungeons I got into was glitched and I'm like, well, fuck this game. I think he lost. So I kind of might have busted.
Starting point is 01:16:07 Yeah. Do you agree that's the guy who found an item in Diablo? Three that he sold it and I think the convert of the gold he got to like real money. It's like over 20 grand. It's something like that. Really? No, he had bought it off the auction house.
Starting point is 01:16:19 Oh, yeah. Someone found it and he bought it like 500 gold and then turned it around so many. Is that how they do it again? You can cast out. You can get out of the game. You can cash out gold to... So you can make money. What? You can make money.
Starting point is 01:16:30 You can pay money to get gold, and then you can cash the gold out of the money. You feel like the best guild for the best weapon and you like sold it for like 20 yen. So you can theoretically farm that game for items sell them on the auction house and they convert in game gold to money. So you can play that game for a living.
Starting point is 01:16:43 So if you were on an point like me a year ago, like go up the oval three, let's hit the caves today. Yeah. Why are you unemployed? Uh, because I worked at GameStop, and that sucked, and then I worked at UPS, the seasonal, and then I'm like, well, I'm just gonna make videos and hopefully get hired.
Starting point is 01:16:55 It worked out flawlessly. So, hey. So the best example of that is, Adam made like a hundred twenty bucks off an item. He sold the real auction house. Yeah, it's like, well, he the double the amount he paid for the game. Apparently, Eve Online has a thing where when you play Eve Online, you can get these things at an equal game time because it's an online game and you don't have to pay for game time.
Starting point is 01:17:16 But then you can sell the game time on a marketplace to where other people buy game time and you feel money. Yeah, for real money. Seems like a worth side there ever. Yeah, but you have to carry on your ship. You have to carry these things. And so people can attack you and either take And the most money ever lost is like some guy attacks him guy ship and he had 15,000 dollars Just drawing
Starting point is 01:17:39 From that guy turning up your house and slitting your down story. It's real money. It's real money It's real fake money It's real money. It's real money No, there's a great story about that whole you online thing those things are those guys are fucking their hardcore Anyway, they've lost up to forty five thousand dollars in one battle. Oh my god Can you imagine being like had you just like turn your computer off? Like go punch a baby I need a cat to give best so I can push all the kittens. It's worse than online gambling because you're not even.
Starting point is 01:18:11 You're actually reminding me we have a cat to go for a church. Upper-cutting nuns. You're reminding me two online videos. I'm going to say for best internet video, there's a great video of a guy in hardcore mode playing the Yvl3. Oh, losing his character.'ve haven't seen this. I would. Kim capturing that moment. He has the gameplay and he has the face cam. The face cam. That's great. Great. Great. It's just his scream is just so delicious. How he's again, a level 60 hardcore character,
Starting point is 01:18:37 something like a level 50s at the highest. Yeah, he was pretty high. He was like at the max level. And then there's another one, which I won't nominate for video of the year but it was definitely one of the most compelling videos a year of the bus driver who uppercut that made me wow. Oh wow I forgot about that one. Yeah I wouldn't want to nominate that. What? What? So my own aspect of it. A woman getting hit. Yeah. Well here game. Yeah, our game. So I scratch the elbow three. Civilization five. I'm willing to scratch that one. Yeah, I would say scratch it. I played quite a bit of that. You know, I am looking forward to some city talking about. I don't give a fuck about what you're looking for to. I give a fuck about best games of 20. I scratch scratching. Best under played game is definitely sleeping dogs. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:19:25 So here's a philosophy question about this. Should this be the game we all like the most, or the game that when you look back at 2012, everyone will remember 2012 for this game. I think they give you like the most. I think if that's the case, then walking dead needs to be on there. If that's the case, then don't load up.
Starting point is 01:19:41 But I'm saying, that's best game. I mean, you know, are this best retail game? Yeah. That's the category of the game. This best retail, DLC. I'm, but I'm saying as best game, I mean, you know, are this best retail game? Yeah, is that okay? That's the category of retail. I'm sorry. So it's not best game. Yeah, I think it's the best. I think it's the best the game you like the most in the year.
Starting point is 01:19:52 Okay. Dishonored. I'm really misscrats. I never played it. Looks good. Michael love that game. I did not like that game. Ron.
Starting point is 01:20:00 It just didn't grab me. Something about the art style. This bugged me. That's steam pond. Yeah, I couldn't get into it. I mean, the game, the gameplay seemed fun and fine, but the art style just kind of bothered me. Xcom, I'll fight you. Assessence 3-3.
Starting point is 01:20:15 I agree with Xcom. Assessence 3-3 is pretty good. Hello four. Gus and I are still biased towards turn-based strategy. God. Then you have a turn-based strategy game shows up. We will probably play the shit out of it and nominate it. I am a sucker. By the way, my, my Xcom squad, Gus, you have a turn-based strategy game shows up. We will probably play the shit out of it and nominate it. I'm a sucker.
Starting point is 01:20:25 By the way, my ex-com squad, Gus, you got killed like a bitch. I believe you kicked in one door and immediately got taken out of the jacket. I think there's DLC coming for ex-com is there any? Is there a game where you can replace everyone's face with the faces of your friends? I'm sure sports games, yeah? Yeah, they have the, well, you can kind of do that rainbow
Starting point is 01:20:42 six Vegas, but that's a real success. Yeah, it's a very, very, very, very very. I saw an article somebody is supposed to recently with a they pretty faithfully recreated a bunch of celebrities. The main character in Saints Row. Yeah, I saw that. Oh, that Bruce Willis. That was crazy. All right, case. What was I? As I screen three, hill four. Yeah, black ops two. Yep. I would take a message to create three off. You would? You would. Yeah, people that that game people are really disappointed by that game It's it's good. It has flaws though. I'll give you that like I know Gavin had an issue Gavin had huge issues with that game
Starting point is 01:21:11 But it yeah, it starts out slow just a bit But it that it seeds the in towards the end of the game for what for another game? No, no, no, I made that one. No, no, like What else boil without spoiling the game the beginning of the game sets up to make the end of the game more relevant No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, It's very it was like I'm on this fucking boat and I have to go talk to people Yeah, and it was like back at four and back and forth and then like and now we're having the game You finally finished the boat ride and then like this the screen the title comes up as I was creed three I was like are you fucking kidding me? Welcome to the games Yeah, it's now the game starts I had two issues with a game one They changed the controls from every other game which was the same like you would do like high-profile
Starting point is 01:22:04 I pro-profile stuff controls from every other game, which was the same like you would do like high portfolio profile stuff. They changed all that. And two, the first six hours were no fun whatsoever. Oh, therefore I did not continue. We'll answer your question from before. Assassin's Creed 3 multiplayer off-flat that game. Yeah. Oh, yeah. But that's the one thing they didn't change. That's the same as the multiplayer. The multiplayer is still good. Don't worry about that. You played six hours. Did you put on the Assassin's the same I think you placed for six hours before you put the assassin suit on right yeah I got to the point where I was a kid yeah and I was playing hide and seek and then I pressed the off button you play for
Starting point is 01:22:38 six or seven hours before you put the assassin suit on for the first time I didn't see it's it's a very long way I think it's game has been out long enough that you don't start as the main character you play the majority of the game as you start as another character. So do you think they damaged themselves by saying oh in this game you play as this wall sounds like reason's white should not be on the list. Sorry. I'm just alright. Even here even what you're saying Jack seems like it was well you guys knocked off revelation last year. Revelation is fucking incredible. It will say
Starting point is 01:23:04 revelation is is it was close to the top though I mean it was like in the final like I still think brother is the best one What was the what was the thing? I got really pissed off that you guys marked off like revelations I was revelations. Yeah. No revelations as fucking incredible as my favorite game of last year The thing is about the stuff that Jack likes is that he likes everything too much Like he's like talk about revelations or breaking bad and he just ejaculates all over himself. No, because there's some things I'm passionate about. So you're going this the whole time. But yeah, I gotta say like even like the it makes me like Jack talked about breaking bad so much I didn't
Starting point is 01:23:34 watch it. It wasn't until I went to Gus' house and he showed me that I knew it was awesome. It's awesome. But you don't need to I'm trying to show my love for it. You're passionate about it. You're loving it. You can be too passionate about things. You can, but I can't fault him for that. If he loves stuff, he loves it. I'm just sharing. I'm sorry that I like things. And I do appreciate that.
Starting point is 01:23:53 The fact that Jack loves stuff and champions it. The problem I have with Jack, not problem I have with him. But we don't match up. It's like stuff that I think is too much. Jack loves. Like, in particular, he mentioned a story in World War Z about the pilot. That has like a very twilight zone moment at the end of it
Starting point is 01:24:10 where I'm like, give me a fucking break. Yeah, I know. And it was like so different from the rest of the stories in World War Z. What the fuck is that? Well, in that case, in particular, I was just running through stories. I think the problem is that Jack is more passionate
Starting point is 01:24:20 about some stuff he sees on TV than I have ever been about any event in my life and that bothers me Like he has more No problem. I know why I can't write that Okay, describe Gavin describe a single moment of passion. You like Yeah, you have no soul Gavin. We discussed this. I'm trying to have a soul more like you Man, I'm empty so we just get more soul I'm leaving it behind a soul. I'm not saying that what you say, like breaking bad was amazing.
Starting point is 01:24:52 It's revelations amazing game. I'm not saying that. I'm just saying you like them too much and your opinion is like it men. I'm sorry that I enjoy something more than your lack of soul can continue. If I had described what does Gavin like? What does Gavin look forward to? The only thing I could probably identify is you like the game Hitman.
Starting point is 01:25:08 No, but you don't anticipate anything or look forward to anything like. What are you most? No, you know what Gavin is doing right now. You know what Gavin is doing? All right, my, my, my, my, my mic is off for like half an hour. All I did was sit there and drink. And now I'm hammered.
Starting point is 01:25:22 No, you know what? You know what? Gavin loves more than anything else in this planet is making other people miserable That's what you know you are a troll like by definition you were a troll Borderlands to far cry three which I've been playing so much I have dreamt about it the last two nights in a row Wow, I have had dreams that I'm like in the jungle stalking people and murdering them So a good combination of on it and It's actually it's interesting you say that it's really made what we should do
Starting point is 01:26:00 We should sit down and play a video game for like 10 hours We should all sit down and play a video game for like 10 hours Bosch some on it and then see if we end up in the game that night that Be a watcher me But I'm playing multiplayer in the game Yeah, it was it was using a bow and arrow and the game but a spear I was like All right, how many how many is that? And then the one last one counter strike go I would knock that which I'm willing to knock off I yeah, I'm saying like spec up the in the chat, which is an okay game,
Starting point is 01:26:28 but the story's good. Like, the game plays like, yeah, cover based third person shooter, the story, though, is pretty damn good. Yeah. So definitely, I would take it. I'm going to put it on the list and scratch it off. Yeah. So that's one, two, three, four, five, six.
Starting point is 01:26:41 Hey, hey, hey, hey. I got to kind of toss out, even though it's very similar to previous versions of the game I got to toss out Super Mario Brothers for the Wii U. Oh, yeah, Super Mario Brothers. New Super Mario Brothers. I would like to play that Would do is that it's great. It's up four players is just two Yeah, you can play five players. Oh really four players with we-motes and what would be you when you want the Wii the Path we should definitely do that for that thing we do Yeah, yeah, rage quitter. you know actually when you go to start your level Mario says let's play yeah he's actually said that in
Starting point is 01:27:11 can we see for you should you should yeah I see if you didn't he would say that in my 64 when on that screen when you can play with his face and that you can be like Mario Gavin oh wow well wow. We always make sense. Wow. Well, you're very right. All right. OK, so we have six. You have seven other games that you want to add. I love this.
Starting point is 01:27:29 It's just my list. I mean, I didn't ask anybody else. Go, I mean, go and be list just one more time. New. Mass Effect 3, XCOM, Halo 4, Black Ops 2, Borderlands 2, Far Cry 3, New Super Mario Brothers 2. Yep. XCOM? We just cut cut it it's on there okay okay it's on there uh... is the only non-sequel like non numbered sequel uh... it's technically Xcom is a sequel
Starting point is 01:27:54 I think I want to discuss Lego Lord of the Rings but I think we've already discussed it yeah yeah what about you loafers well I mean what I gave you I don't see the point in this catchphrase why hey look for me hey look for it's pretty. I think it's pretty clear that we're all we are a little bit biased. We came together. No, no, someone someone's they're shouting on the feed Skyrim. That was last year. That was last year. Yeah, Skyrim was last year, guys. Yeah, well done. We did it. We did. Yeah, we need zombie you on the list. No, I don't think so.
Starting point is 01:28:25 No, not zombie you. Well, we have something. I played zombie you. I would say, no, don't put zombie you on there. I mean, it's really interesting. There's a cool thing you can do where you take that Wii pad and you hold it up and you can actually look around the room and it's kind of like an augmented reality thing
Starting point is 01:28:39 where you look around the game environment by looking around in the real world. That's about as cool as it gets in that game. Otherwise, you just get fucking killed by a zombie because you didn't hate it the right way with your cricket bat and you had to go out and find your own body. Why is it every game play video I see is just cricket bats? It's the main weapon you get.
Starting point is 01:28:53 You just end up bashing everything's headed with it. I like it. So we commented on Twitter that we have a lot of shooters on the list. New slash. There's a lot of shooters on the market. Yeah. I'm a little bit more.
Starting point is 01:29:03 There you go. There's Tweet Chat. Tweet Chat we have. Yeah, I'm a man. There you go. There's Tweet Chat. That's the Tweet Chat we have. Yeah, like the one thing about zombie you that I like is that when you die, you become a zombie. And if you have stuff on you, you can go kill your previous self and get it on that. That's a cool idea.
Starting point is 01:29:16 That's a cool idea. I feel like they're also doing that in not Daisy, the warzy. It's the same thing where your character dies what's the calamity with war Z where They're everyone's asking for refunds. Yeah, I saw that I'm ready I'm crazy. We're getting really upset about like they started this man That's the last thing you want for a product is when right it like it or getting a refund becomes like a thing Yeah, people want to post their refund or their experience trying to get a refund right?
Starting point is 01:29:41 Yeah, yeah, but how big of a sentence is that of the whole people that blow that game? Not matter. You know, like you can snowball. Yeah, that's a problem. That's social aspect, like Reddit and Twitter. You want to add that? Once you piss off a billion page view website, you're not, you know, not good.
Starting point is 01:29:55 Okay, so are we calling, are we cutting there on James? I think that's a good one. Yeah, did you scribble out everything except, hey, look for. We've got to show something about the other games. If we, bears mentioning a notable release, it probably will make our list though, for Down Lowell Game of the Year is Black Mesa,
Starting point is 01:30:12 which was the long, indevelopment mod for Half Light. Yeah, Black Mesa have natural selection too, now that you mentioned Black Mesa makes me think about, you know, natural selection too, which was actually a downloadable game, I believe. I don't think that a retail release. We're talking about, I don't think it'll make our list. Also, another game we should probably talk about, you know, a natural selection, which was actually a downloadable game, I believe. I don't think that a retail release. We're talking about, I don't think it'll make your list. Also, another game we should probably talk about because we've talked about it in the
Starting point is 01:30:28 past. Planet side 2, you and I both played it. Yeah. You didn't really hold our attention for very long. Yeah. People love that game. It was a very faithful recreation to Planet side, which is always the best thing. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:30:39 I mean, I had, I played in the beta extensively and I had a lot of fun with it. Well, we have to admit that we're not exactly PC gamers too. I'm getting to be more so. Really? Thanks Steve. That's a bad boy. That's really the fact that he had to help. That is the razor blade.
Starting point is 01:30:54 The razor blade, the things also. I don't even know who's cool that. Okay, so I'm calling a best game there. All right. Best TV show. Best TV show. I haven't got a couple of things on here. I'm hoping people can help.
Starting point is 01:31:04 Do you want to run through your list and then take credit for everything or can we give you? I'm gonna put Jack as he says break that okay, you say I'm thinking about you take him I'm saying credit for everything So you go jack. All right. We're gonna be breaking bad for sure. Okay, wait wait Just gonna do one of these walking ads gonna be on there. Just gonna do one of these Okay, what what else gonna be in there? Like I'm asking you I know I'm saying really. You just said what else is going to be on there? I'm asking you. No, it's only two that really have a shot. I mean, like that.
Starting point is 01:31:29 Just one. Oh, I've got some shit on here, my friend. Oh, do you? I do. I can say you can throw community on there. Community is fine. I will put it on here and immediately remove it. I'm sure you guys are. I'm a huge community fan.
Starting point is 01:31:40 Okay. I love community. There is shit that is way better on this stuff. Absolutely. We're discussing. We there's way we're discussing Bloody right Community, do you like my little pony? A good cartoon you know what you know
Starting point is 01:31:58 Have you seen powerpuff girls? I'll get back to this one. They're done. Okay, go ahead We're not having a my little Pokes session on this fucking podcast. Thank you. It's not ending up on the list. Wait, wait, wait, why make it on the list? You know, okay, because it's my podcast. You know, you know, honestly one show that could end up on there that probably won't, but you should think about it. Daily show. The Daily Show was fucking awesome. It's here. Oh, right. Because the I mean, the election year, the election year stuff was amazing. Yeah, okay. It's every day, right? That show.
Starting point is 01:32:27 Yeah, well, they do it. They do it for about three weeks. There's no such thing as an excellent show that's on every day. You have it off days. Well, I mean, there were four days a week. Is that really incredible? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:37 Okay. And that's about the fear of television shows. Let's get down to the practice. Walking the television shows. Game of Thrones. I said walking dead. That's what he didn't mention. Game of Thrones. Game of Thrones. Yeah, game with runners. I said walking dead That's it. What thing he didn't mention? Game of Thrones. Yeah, game of Thrones. I'll throw Dexter on there Dexter's been great this season. I'll throw Dexter's lab on there
Starting point is 01:32:52 I Actually feel like we should mention this is how weird. I feel like we should mention I Carly Which ran had a spinal episode this year. How sad were you? That was a long running show How long was it on there? Nickelodeon How long was it on there? I Caron. How long was it on there? Icarly hung that running. A long time. Those kids went from like, it's weird seeing Miranda Cosgrove
Starting point is 01:33:10 and Drake and Josh when she was like six. And now you watch this and she's like 28. Yeah, now you can bone her. Right, legally. Actually, Ray actually vetted that remark because when we were talking about Icarly earlier in the day, he said, I want to make a joke about having sex with them. Are they old? Make sure it's all right. He wanted to be offensive, but he wanted to be offensive within the normal
Starting point is 01:33:35 Foul going to jail. All right. All right. The Law. Okay, what I miss out of your List. The other thing that wrote as well were homeland. I've heard that's fantastic. Louis how about Supernatural and Modern Family. You know? I've heard that's fantastic. Louis, how about Supernatural? And Modern Family. You know, I've yet to watch Modern Family, and I know Louis this season, it started slow
Starting point is 01:33:52 and got really good. I haven't seen anything. I don't want to watch anything that's on a plane. Well, so do you have anything else to add to the list? Man, all I got to say, okay, things I want to add, we haven't mentioned, all we sunny. We haven't mentioned Legend of Cora, which is the sequel to add, we haven't mentioned all we've done, we haven't mentioned Legend of Cora, which is the sequel to Avatar,
Starting point is 01:34:07 animated show, and then Key and Peel. Key and Peel is great. Oh, yeah. It was Mad Men going to season? Yeah, I don't watch it, but I mean, it was very, very hotly contested last year, so I figured I'd throw it out. What's interesting is that I,
Starting point is 01:34:23 what's that asshole's name? He used John Ham? Jack Pet that assholes name he used to John and Jack Patilla he used to host a TRL Carson daily so I fucking I don't like Carson daily but one that I was watching the Carson daily show and he had those key the guys from key and peel on and it was an interview with them and they showed like some bits from their shows like wow that show looks really fucking funny so I started watching it on a hulu because it's on there.
Starting point is 01:34:45 And it's a good show. It's really funny. That sketch they did with the zombies is the racist zombie. And the history, the history, it doesn't just zombie locking the car doors. Every idea they have is so simple. And it's executed so well. You're like, how is it 2012 and nobody's done that?
Starting point is 01:35:02 It makes you feel like you can't pronounce it. You can see almost all their sketches online, but they're on Hulu. I watched it on Hulu, and that's the thing I thought. I thought, why are they with, why is this a TV show? Why don't they just have a YouTube channel? And why don't they just release these sketches? Like three minute bits.
Starting point is 01:35:19 They still have millions of views. And they also, for the TV show, they do really like kind of weird standup between the sketches. I feel like that's the whole of from the Shopelle show. Exactly. That's what made me think about it. Yeah. I thought that that felt out of place. Yeah, because they're filling time. Right. Just run the sketch. And if they just did a YouTube channel, they could do the bit with the teacher reading off the TV. I like the part of my favorite skid of theirs so good. Have you guys had you guys mentioned boardwalk empire? No, I would like to add that. Have you seen the show?
Starting point is 01:35:50 Anybody? No, I have not. tremendous show. I know I know the grip the the dude from Minim Black 3's on that show. He is. Yeah, but he plays a much different character on boardwalk. He was like home brothers movie and he was awesome in that movie. Yeah. In many black three, he plays like this, like, kind of snivly, weird alien, yeah, spoiler, you know, some of the characters in men black three are aliens.
Starting point is 01:36:12 But then in boardwalk empire, he plays like a serious like hardcore gambler, who's like, big into, is like a T-toddler. And he's just big into numbers and luck and probability and all that. He's great. I just watched
Starting point is 01:36:24 man in black three on this trip to Seattle. It's not bad. It's a good sort of thing. It was better than I was expecting. People had talked so much shit about that movie. It was better than I thought it was. Oh, what's his name? Josh Brolin.
Starting point is 01:36:35 Josh Brolin is fantastic. He, like, you know, when he was cast to play George W. Bush in the movie W, I thought that's a terrible casting choice. He nailed it. Yeah, then when you watch the movie, he really, I don't know, like picked up on the facial expressions and mannerisms. He just like a really good job. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:36:51 But no, that minimal like three is like that sort of that perfect summer movie where it's like, it's just enough fluff. It's got enough action, got enough comedy. I feel like throwing on his watch. The end part where like, I don't want to spoil any of this. This is happy stuff again. Yeah, the sappy part at the end. I was like don't want to spoil the stuff again. The sappy part at the end I was like I was rolling my eyes. My wife watched it with me and I looked over at her,
Starting point is 01:37:10 she had tears like willing up and I was like they've been telegraphing this for two hours. Well I will say like the very end I was like wait how come the thing and the stuff and I started like questioning it is this different and anyway anyway. TV shows, TV shows. So we have a huge list of things. We do know, questioning it. It's like, is this different? Anyway, anyway, TV shows, TV shows. So we have a huge list to do. We do. Go for it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:29 Well, real fast, I'm going to strike community. Go for it. Sorry. Go ahead and strike. I'm going to strike. I carly. I wanted to bring it up. Community is great.
Starting point is 01:37:37 This is not the best season of it. Yeah. You give me a favor, but my little pony on the list, and cross it off. No, I'm not going to put it on the other day. OK, I tried. You've got your credit. OK, so we're ready. You know what? I'm also gonna scratch modern family
Starting point is 01:37:46 Even though I put on the list because there's other stuff on here. I think it's way better I heard an actual audible gasp from the other room when you said that yeah, I heard it's their Modern family is an awesome show. It's like if you've never seen it. You're in for a treat. I need to watch Yeah, is it on is it on Netflix or it's on blue? Yeah So if you ever got I'm she's, very beautiful. Yeah. She's one of us. Listen, everybody. All that shows we make pretty women. There is that is one of
Starting point is 01:38:08 the few shows on the air. And it's got a huge ensemble cast. There is not a single week link in that entire cast. Now, kids are great. All the adults are great. They're amazing. Yeah, absolutely. Okay. So we're left with breaking bad, homeland,
Starting point is 01:38:24 Louis Game of Thrones, Boardwalk So we're left with breaking bad homeland Louis Game of Thrones Boardwalk Empire Walking Dead already. This is like that's all star Our track. I'm going to walk Empire. Okay. Okay. I'll retract it. So you have five Even though it's a great show and everybody should watch boardwalk Empire. I really season three. I don't know that much about it daily show I'm gonna have to scratch that one compared to some of these other ones It's a good show. Yeah, it's it's like a different show than anything else if I were gonna sit down and look at daily show versus some of the other things on this category
Starting point is 01:38:52 I watch other things first. Yeah, it's up against yeah, it's also been around for you know 15 Jesus Christ Dexter to go ahead and you can knock off Dexter I think the only one is watch that show. Yeah, and, Yvonne Stravanskiy or Stravinsky out in the city. She's in the season and she's beautiful and amazing. Always sunny. Legend of Korra. No, no, no. He and Peel. Oh, knock off Legend of Korra. Yeah, I haven't seen Legend of Korra. People say it's really good. Yeah. Is it something you feel passionate about that we should watch? No, I think we're down to seven at this point. So one, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
Starting point is 01:39:26 Yeah. So the final seven are breaking bad, homeland, Louis, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Always Sunny, Key and P. So really comes down to two on that list. What is it that comes down to? Breaking bad and Game of Thrones. It comes down to Walking Dead, this season, and Game of Thrones. Okay. I think it comes down to...
Starting point is 01:39:43 The... Okay, okay, okay, how about this? How about this? I'll say this breaking bad technically this is the first half of a season and I would be willing to say like this this half the season can be lumped in with the next half. Nope If you're really nope, that's not how they released it. No, well, then so the next season is not gonna count What season will count next year? So this is half of a season of breaking bad. Well, it's half a season of walking dead. Listen, breaking bad also one last year. Obviously, we would all nominate for the best show of the year.
Starting point is 01:40:12 We all watched every single episode with Bated Breath this year. Yeah. But comparing, even comparing breaking bad this season to last season with Gus Fring, this is a great season. It's a great season, but also next season of breaking bads can be way better. Oh, yeah. Okay, I'll give you that. The clip or at the end of this first half season. But it sits up for the next season.
Starting point is 01:40:30 It's like I can't wait for it. If you have to use the phrase half season finale, you're an also when you shouldn't win this award. So walking dead. Not one. Yeah, yeah. Game of Thrones done. All right. So game of thrones is one of those shows that I did not think I was gonna like. It looked like so dumb to me.
Starting point is 01:40:46 It's back as the people who tweeted about it forever, you're probably like, yeah, right. Yeah, and it possibly be. I started watching, I think I watched both seasons like in three days. Game of Thrones is great. Game of Thrones tells me off though, because the whole, the Targaryen, right? Nobody cooks met. You know? No, like the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the whole, the know, like, so the whole the whole. The whole. What's up with that?
Starting point is 01:41:07 The whole Daenerys Targaryen storyline. Yeah. The her whole side story with like, you know, the, with whatever the, the blonde chick, whatever. Doesn't it all touch any of the other story?
Starting point is 01:41:21 And it's like, I don't understand at all. And apparently in the books, they don't even touch yet. It touches, it touches before it's part of the other story and it's like I don't understand at all and apparently in the books They don't even touch yet. It touches it touches before it's part of the story They don't have to know the land. What I mean, but I mean we're like Six seasons away from them before before her story. I'm a Daenerys Targaryen Daenerys Targaryen Who is one of the best female characters in the history of television? Yes?
Starting point is 01:41:41 But end of season one when she comes out of the fire awesome in the history of television. Yes, the end of season one when she comes out of the fire. That was awesome. Fucking, just trying to watch. I'll give you that. What was she eating the fucking heart? That was goddamn amazing. That's her turning point is her character.
Starting point is 01:41:50 Yeah, absolutely. I'm talking about, there's some great stuff with her, but it's like, I don't understand why do we need her story. It's a good story. It is. And it's solid setup for further conflict. And like Bernie said, her story is, you know, before the current story,
Starting point is 01:42:06 it's like what the conflict that kind of started, they're set the tone for where everyone is now. Isn't she supposed to be? Isn't she actually more badass though? But she's like, she's the throne, right? Like she actually has rights. Her father was the first.
Starting point is 01:42:18 Everybody does. That's the point. Yeah, okay. Everybody thinks they have rights to the throne. But I thought like for some reason, like her and her brother. Her father was the old king. Okay, the mad king.
Starting point is 01:42:25 The mad king, who got the murder. So technically she should have taken it, but he got it served right. Technically her brother sort of taken it. Okay, and yeah, he got gold. Yeah, this is so many plot threads going on. They're all great, but I don't know. It's great.
Starting point is 01:42:40 It's a fantastic show. Jack, let me put it this way. You're arguing here. You're arguing here. It's the same as me saying, I don't like breaking bad because his brother-in-law is a cop, but they don't ever arrest it. No, no, no, no, no. They don't focus whole shows on the brother.
Starting point is 01:42:57 I'm going to get Jack and we'll carry on with this conversation. I don't know. It's the whole thing. It's multiple characters, multiple threads threads versus singles sort of isolated. Best internet video. Best internet. Train simulator. Train.
Starting point is 01:43:08 Oh I did that one down. I got to write that one down. Train simulator. I got a bunch of little book of what you know. Train simulator. What the train go. I mean I'm gonna mention I mean I'm gonna mention
Starting point is 01:43:18 Dungham style. Yeah I got Dungham style on there. That's actually the first one I wrote down. Yeah. I saw a graph today charting the views on Justin Bieber's baby, which was the previous most viewed video on YouTube versus the views on the gun chart style. And the views on baby, you know, have, it's a chart like this, it starts at zero and kind of climbs and then goes through a nice part. And then gun style is just like,
Starting point is 01:43:39 F you. Yeah, like baby did it over the course of like two and a half years. Guns of styles have been out for six months not even six months Yeah, but he hates American soldiers. So fuck that guy Do you want to name the other videos? I have a huge list here. I mean I already just named it Because it has you made this year or was this big for us this year? I think made this year's how we I had to throw out into your crocodile alligator I have to throw out into your crocodile alligator which we love. I'm good.
Starting point is 01:44:06 I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good.
Starting point is 01:44:14 I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good.
Starting point is 01:44:22 I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. I'm about the rate? I know I'm not a teacher my let's We might have a category with audience or that our favorite Ristie video of the year and mine would probably you and Michael playing slender I left so fucking hard Videos where like most videos we do they they get the views and then they level out that video Just is going up. No, okay. That's okay. I watch that. I don't like you screaming in that video
Starting point is 01:44:42 I would also say I would say I would say Jeff and Gavin playing Skyrim doing the cabbage throw. Oh, that's a great guy watching Shut yeah, what watching Gavin jump up and down like a woman at the end of that I love I love your things to do and where you're knowing the preacher Anyway, we're talking about our videos. Let's talk about stuff. That's on Okay, we're all in the others here fucking peanut I know like this kind of glory kind of Okay, we're just gonna go on themselves. I was win. Yeah, no, well we have there's a There's a lot of you. You're gonna be surprised
Starting point is 01:45:08 Okay, I'll have some of the stuff I have a chance to meet you on the get like the previous eight months. Yeah, the First store so much of the store saw yeah, I didn't even do that tonight. It didn't it didn't hold me away I love that thing. I think it's good But I like it Chinese guy Stabbing the tire. Oh, that's a great one I go to Chinese tire revenge Chinese guy stabbing the tire. Oh, that's a great one. I don't see that.
Starting point is 01:45:26 I go to the Chinese tire revenge. Chinese guy, like, it's cut off by, like, a big truck, like a delivery truck. And he gets mad about it. So he takes out a knife and he goes to stab the tire. He stabs the tire. The tire explodes and blows his shirt. The fucked up thing about that is he stands up and then blood starts pouring out from everywhere. He's like, holy shit.
Starting point is 01:45:44 He's probably dead now. I really hope we never get rid of like the four or five second frame per second security cameras. Right. Because they're way more funny. If it was like actual video, it would be like, shbrew is shuggest of tough. But the fact that it's kind of like, and then it is on the floor with no shirt.
Starting point is 01:45:59 And then he's blood everywhere. It's like steam and then he's blood. It's like the security cameras and gas stations where you see the tire rolling from the street that you know Obviously kicked off an 18-wheeler and just flattening Yeah, oh, yeah, the one with the tire just come flying up Yeah, you have any other serpony? We got the train simulator one which I loved I always feel like we missed something in this catch-creet
Starting point is 01:46:17 Oh, it's always the case. In fact, this would be great when we get the internet to kick out tell us. Absolutely. What are we missing guys for best internet video? So I've got some more I have some more to you. Okay, go go. Jenna Marbles and explain how best internet video? I have some more to you. Jenna Marbles, explain how sports bras work. That's a really funny one. That's not good. That's not good.
Starting point is 01:46:31 Somebody, when I was asking around the audience, today, somebody threw out the Burning Man Hulu hoop video. That was Alan. That was Alan. You can tell because he's really excited. Alan, Alan. Actually, I think I sent that video to Alan. I didn't want to Alan. Alan, you credit goes to excited. Alan, Alan, Alan, Alan. I think I sent that video to Alan. I didn't want to Alan.
Starting point is 01:46:46 Alan, you credit goes to Jack, instead of Alan. I'll take it. And when you talk about Alan, I got to nominate a live-prood girl's interview. Live-prood girl's interviewing Bob Odenkirk is fucking awesome. That's a good one. Really fun. It's a really good one. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:47:00 They got some big names on that show. No shit. They just had a B there because you like my back Good one's online Yeah, I've got some more on here. Are you set all your list or do you have anything else? Uh, that's what I got right here. I'm gonna go to Twitter while you read the rest I've also got I said we mentioned Gangnam style Kony 2012
Starting point is 01:47:19 No, it was a huge video. It was huge I can't pull you out on the other side of that. How about naked guy in the street master meeting? Can we love those together? That's a great one too. Go to 3 nights. When was the video of the Drunk Dude stumbling home? That one won, I think. It won.
Starting point is 01:47:36 You're thinking about the guy who go into go get more beer. Oh right. I'm too about the guy who likes outboy. Yeah, that was so sad. We talked about it last year. I've got, call me maybe, we're gonna do it. I'm like, I'm like, I'm going to play. Yeah, that was what it says. We talked about it last year. I've got, call me maybe just because that was ugly. How about the Miami Dolphins version of that? How about the dude in there? No. Yeah, that one's much better than the actual version. The German dude jumping on the ice. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:47:55 Yeah. We can get that out right now. Good. Go for it. Go chase somebody that I used to know, but I'm willing to scratch that one off. Yeah, that's a good video. Yeah. Gangnam Style is a music video. True. The drunk guy in the backseat of the police car singing Bohemian rap city. I've been through that. Props to the cops letting him go on. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:48:13 Step walk into Mordor, which you already did. Yeah. Bane out takes. We just saw that now. We just saw that. That was really funny. Well, parts of it were really funny. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:48:23 And then finally, I can't believe you didn't mention this one Jack Kate doesn't Kate upton dad's is a cat daddy. That's a good one. You know, you know, you can also throw on there is that heavy metal cat video Oh, yeah, you know the cat drumming video. Yeah, yeah, we talked about that one last week, but I mean yeah, yeah Yeah, the cat daddy video is pretty great. That gives my this is a long list one two three four five six seven eight And then there's some narrative ones that came out that the internet is becoming more narrative now with videos. So people are asking about video game high school by Oh, yeah, yeah. And also the Ford underdog, which we talked about extensively. Yeah. So it's only been another category now for narrative internet, which is viral internet videos. Yeah. Go ahead and make that guys put on a list
Starting point is 01:49:05 Someone is asking about something called the one pound fish video That sounds very shock sight What about grumps the cat tart tart the cat. Yeah, yeah There is a video I think New York Times or something on him, but yeah But that he's Dicks jails and memes um okay I got one I got nominated Miami Dolphins cheerleaders singing call me maybe that's what he said oh he said he said
Starting point is 01:49:33 Carly Ray Janssen call me maybe and I was like well no it went out the cheerleaders do the bearded dude in front of the webcam of the bikini better no no that was a good video is right I would do that one over the Miami Dolphins is for you people's reaction to No, that was a good video. I would do that one over the Miami Doffos. I would? It's funny. People's reactions to the mayor.
Starting point is 01:49:47 Absolutely. Like, it's not just a bunch of potchains. It's like a funny game in him. It was ChatReliter, right? Yeah, it was a madele. It was a madele. Well, did you see the ChatReliter or Mangle video of the guy who sang a song about a girl he met?
Starting point is 01:50:00 Like, he had set it up, and it was a whole, like, choreographed thing, where it was like, he got her name and set it up It was a whole like choreographed thing where it was like it started He got her name and it started singing the song and then like they started like the camera started moving And there were people in the room and like they started incorporating stuff It's hard to explain, but it was really incredible. I don't know if this year was That was last year It was creative. It's so people wouldn't get Monty texted something I don't know if it really counts, but the red bull jump from space.
Starting point is 01:50:27 No, it's not. No, it's not. Yeah, people on Twitter are saying the same thing. I mean, it's relevant. It was an online account. Absolutely. I think there's other things I hear that I'm streamed. I don't know how to count that.
Starting point is 01:50:37 Yeah, but there's, yeah. It's like, it's still an internet video. The category technically is best internet video. Was that not streamed month TV? I thought it was only discovery or something, too. So, technically it can be TV show. You'll lump it into that category. I'm really muted back on that. I mean, that might have been the definitive video of the year to define the year. If that's one of the philosophies for voting for these things, but then Gangnam Style is a good idea.
Starting point is 01:50:51 That was a thing for like three minutes. Did you get that? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:51:00 I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't that. I mean, that might have been the definitive video of the year to define the year. If that's one of the philosophies for voting for these things, but then Gangnam Style is blue that a lot. That was a thing for like, three minutes.
Starting point is 01:51:09 Did you watch it? I can't think. I refused, the fact that I saw it so much, I just refused to watch it. I think it's a half an hour long. Oh, yeah. I'm glad I didn't. I'm also gonna scratch, call me maybe.
Starting point is 01:51:19 I just put it on here. All right. German dude jumped on the line. That's got to stay. That's got to stay. That's got to stay. My awesome. My awesome. There's something like that. He's a cup sick. He's so German.
Starting point is 01:51:31 He's my girl. He's trying to calm yourself up. He's fine. Yeah. He's smiling like turned around and came out of his mouth. Oh, is that what happened? Someone's saying Monty's ruby teaser. Oh, there you go. That's a real thing.
Starting point is 01:51:51 Yeah, I feel like we have to ignore our own stuff. Someone else. That wins. Yeah, I know. Also, in the scratch sample walk in a mortar, we can't put on our own stuff. Yeah. Drunk guy thinks of Bohemian Rhapsody. That's pretty great.
Starting point is 01:52:02 I know that one, but okay. Oh, you don't. It's a great video. It is good. Kate Upton dancing the cat dead. I say we go ahead and leave that on there. Bane out, takes something to scratch that one. Yeah, that's, I didn't see that until today. Diablo's to be hardcore mode.
Starting point is 01:52:15 God, dude, that's a good one. It's Francis loses a level 60 moke, I think. Okay, a train simulator bitch. We gotta leave that. That's good. That's gonna win. Brazilian elevator prank. God, leave that Brazilian elevator prank gotta leave that Three of store song I haven't seen that one yet. It's okay, but it's not like yeah, I'll let them be to it if they want to all right
Starting point is 01:52:33 Trying these guys stabbing tire. That's a good one Jenna marble sports bra you can eat them that one too. Yeah, okay Burning man Hula hoop. That's a good one. That is a good one. Live crewed girls Bob Uncork. That's a good one. Heavy metal. Heavy metal cat. Cut. That video is awesome. Video game high school and Fort on a Don. One, two, three, four, five, six.
Starting point is 01:53:01 I lost count. I'm six, seven, eight, nine, ten, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, eleven, twelve, thirteen. Oh, close guess. Yeah. Cash. That's like double of any other category. What is also our category too?
Starting point is 01:53:12 It's kind of like that. We live on the internet. So did you ever see the video where the woman in Minnesota calls into the radio station to demand why the Department of Transportation in Minnesota keeps putting the deer crossings and so traffic areas? Have you heard that one? That's a great one.
Starting point is 01:53:25 Is it? Yeah. So that's another one that was pretty popular. I wouldn't put it on this list. There's other stuff that's obviously that's better. Yeah. I'm comfortable having this one. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:53:36 I'm bigger than the other one. I'm talking about that. Because then we put a bunch of stuff in the link dump. Yeah. Yeah. A lot of chance for it. There's a lot of videos for a bunch of stuff you want to see. These are really good.
Starting point is 01:53:44 Yeah. And there should be something we forget. We'll come across it later and be like, when we do our awards actually next week, we'll see what the feedback was. Yeah. Best short video of the year was a 12 second video called My Brain.
Starting point is 01:53:58 And it's a good video with the Mass Effect characters by getting contracts. The Barbara dissonant to you? Can she be the one that's talking about you? I know. I think she was the one who characters by getting contact. The Barbara dissonant to you, because she loves that. We talked about that earlier. I know. I think she was the one who brought it up earlier. It's a parody of that 1-800 contacts commercial.
Starting point is 01:54:11 My brand. I have specialized. I almost kind of regret. There's not much to regret about Source Filmmaker, but Source Filmmaker coming out really does kind of kill all the Gary's Mod videos that were made for years for all the characters to walk like. Yeah, that weird. The flag.
Starting point is 01:54:27 The national ones and the scene thing or you can see Gary's mom. Like, but that's funny. People are talking and they're like, yeah, man, I will, I will miss those if people start making. I think it'll stick around. It's a different category. Yeah, exactly. That's what I was saying. There's been some great source filmmaker clips too. I mean, there's some, some really really. It's a different category. Yeah, exactly. That's what I was saying. The two different things. There've been some great source filmmaker clips too.
Starting point is 01:54:45 I mean, there's some really really. It's an amazing tool. It is amazing. Well, I mean, considering like all of their cinematics have been made in that like the last like five or six years. It just looks so, it's almost too professional. I mean, I think that someone made it. Yeah. It's wild.
Starting point is 01:54:57 What? Do you think a computer made it? No, I mean, like that robot. Just makes a video. Right. People, blah, blah. People, blah, blah that robot just makes a video Is that it? So is that is that all the categories? All the categories we've been through them. Do you have a trophy this year? Like do you make a trophy last week? We didn't make trophies last year. All right. You just haven't mailed the one from two years ago, so man, whoa
Starting point is 01:55:17 I have a I have a surplus of trophies. I need to get through first. I think every time I see Chet from Valve I always bring up the podcast and he's like, oh, I've got your flip, I'm going to send it back. And because they won the first, you would do the fight. I just saw him, I had no idea. Up in Seattle when I was there. Nice. Was by any chance, was the screaming goat this year, or was that last year? Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:55:34 The Usher one. The Usher screaming goat. By the way, goat that screams like a human, don't get up. It's speaking of being in Seattle. We went to Charles play dinner. Yeah. There is something, if you haven't done it I absolutely recommend this should be good. Don't you need to see? Gentella deliver lines as Cortana in real life. Yeah, it's amazing. Yeah, just go. Just go do that
Starting point is 01:55:55 I mean, I don't know why you haven't done it yet Yeah, I mean if you haven't done it just go. I mean fine I just like I Gavin highly recommends it. She just starts talking this court Why is this like Gavin highly recommends it? She just starts talking to us. She starts talking to us, and I'm just like, just keep saying that. Wasn't there a live auction thing
Starting point is 01:56:10 where she would do your voicemail for you? That's it. It was a tour of 343 as well as voicemail message by J.J. Oh, so it was like a lumped in. Yeah, that was a steep down. That's not a big thing. Because typically, we try to bid on one thing every year. Like this year, we got all the cool props in here.
Starting point is 01:56:24 But if we got like, that would be cool. If we could have like, you know, Cortana do our voicemail messages for the office. We're gonna be doing a really good job. We're gonna be doing a really good job. We're gonna be doing a really good job. We're gonna be doing a really good job. We're gonna be doing a really good job. We're gonna be doing a really good job. We're gonna be doing a really good job. We're gonna be doing a really good job. We're gonna be doing a really good job. We're gonna be doing a really good job.
Starting point is 01:56:40 We're gonna be doing a really good job. We're gonna be doing a really good job. We're gonna be doing a really good job. We're gonna be doing a really good job. We're gonna be doing a really good job. We're gonna be the voice like of everything and like the automated voice which is gonna be Sheila But then we realize our phone would just get choked like people calling to hear that. Yeah, that is true So that does not exist. Yeah, call us. Yeah, it is a boring. I mean, I think it's you actually no, it's not me No, it's an automated system. Oh, really system. Oh, man. We don't even have phones. Yeah, they don't exist We don't have phones or email addresses and anyway Yeah, they don't exist. We don't have phones or email addresses anyway We don't have phones or email addresses. Okay, we are on the bridge of having the longest podcast Well, let's do it. Please let's break through that threshold
Starting point is 01:57:11 I'm not briefly just talk about jizz for one second. No, no, how about we don't I'm interested in your This is a conversation. I was having earlier with Ray. Oh, yeah, the conversation. How long does Seaman last outside of a testicle? I don't think so. What, for human consumption? For what do you mean? Like, like, say a lot of sperm still alive. To say for when they do, they make a baby in a test tube,
Starting point is 01:57:35 whatever, they get the gizz out and then mix it for a lot of shit. I'm gonna, after this podcast, we're gonna sit down, I'm gonna show you how Google works, okay? You can get answers to all these fucking questions. Don't stop in using Google. But like, why do you want to know? Why do you want to know? I think it'd be funny to make a baby from a smattering of jizz that was on something,
Starting point is 01:57:54 like a fridge. This old thing is all- Oh, it'll be funny. Just imagine being up to say- Why are you jerking off in the kitchen? Imagine being up on the fridge. Just imagine being up to say, I was once a streak of jizz on a fridge, but then I was, actually, I made it to the egg.
Starting point is 01:58:08 I made it, guys. And then I was born. It'd be funny. Every, like, droplet of semen that's ever been made into a baby just went straight for that purpose. Why do you choose? I've been sat here for half an hour, that I'm Mike.
Starting point is 01:58:21 I've been thinking about the fridge, though. Why not, like, a sock? I was, like, in a tube, and I was throwing out of the space station back on the earth. That would work as well. No, it is one of these words like that nobody would have any ridiculous. Nobody has any good conception stories. Like nobody knows the story of their conception. Yeah, I don't know what I was doing.
Starting point is 01:58:38 Nobody wanted to be a man. I'm actually a man. But I don't know what I was doing when I was a sperm. Did I just go straight in or did I like have you? No, you took the time. Let me tell the way the story would actually work out for you Gavin Here's the way you're gonna have to tell the story you'd have to tell the story my dad jerked off in the kitchen Jerking off in the kitchen that's the way that story gets told Where you work you work nine months backwards from your birthday to kind of figure out when you were conceived and see
Starting point is 01:59:03 Anything interesting going on. Stand forward. Yeah, you're going forward two months. You know what was ten months before my birthday? What's that? My parents waiting. Wow. Honey, mate. Like, wait, what?
Starting point is 01:59:13 To the day. That's awesome. Oh, wow. Actually, mine would have been right around Valentine's Day. Then it was ten months, so. Hey, there you go. I just think it's all about the dough. I was spring break.
Starting point is 01:59:24 Shout out to my dad. It's his birthday. Happy birthday. Yeah, you know, wait He's 30 so what's 10 months before this? Dad is Joel Guys go to the jolt I think we'd already as a lot of this point. That's true. Okay, well, while we make up Gavin's half hour. Today I ate at a great place and I did something I haven't done the long time.
Starting point is 01:59:56 I tweeted a picture of my lunch. Today I ate a Gordo's, which was the trailer that serves fresh donuts. We should actually, she had a shout out to Dom on the mic too, because he runs the RT podcast. Twitter. That was it. All right, there you go, Dom. He's right over here.
Starting point is 02:00:11 I went to the Gordo's restaurant. They move from the trailer. And often, they will start a cool restaurant in a trailer or a food truck. They will develop a following, and then they will move into a restaurant. And Gordo's did that. Today, I had a-
Starting point is 02:00:23 With the ever restaurant, I thought they were still, I've only been to the trailer, it's on South first. No, it's gone. They have a trailer still on South first, don't they? They did, I think they still have the trailer. Oh, they moved it from the outlaw. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, they do have a restaurant.
Starting point is 02:00:33 It's where the old Kirby Lane used to be on South for more. Oh, well. Oh, okay. Here you go. It's awesome. I had a club sandwich where the three pieces of bread were actually three donuts. Oh, God.
Starting point is 02:00:41 Nice. Yeah, you haven't lived until you had looked at your plate and thought, should I eat that piece of donut that has mayonnaise on it? Yeah. So when Mulligan's was still around in Atlanta, Matt and I ate a ham dog there. But we also ate the Luther burger, which is a cheeseburger with served on crispy cream donuts instead of hamburger buns. They have about eight of those.
Starting point is 02:01:03 Eight different kind of burgers served on donuts. Yeah. how do I just look at that and just shit your pants into the lid? Yeah, like you just look at it. You don't have your body. Let me just get this out of the way. Your body just rejects stuff. If you do too much stuff to it, like if you just keep drinking milk, your body will eventually be like, all right, enough milk, boke. But why doesn't the body just... Why doesn't the body see something in rejected? Like, you should milk challenge. Physically, we do that. Can we, can we do the milk challenge?
Starting point is 02:01:30 Oh, what do you think about that milk? There's a photo, we got a photo of one. Oh, that's your, that's your, that was your lunch, Bernie. No, I, that's not what I, what is that? That's baking, that's baking on a donut. Brandon, what is that? That's like oatmeal bacon. Oh, it's delicious.
Starting point is 02:01:42 Hey, I will do the milk challenge with you, Bernie. What's the milk challenge? If we can count on a milk in an hour. I'll film it in slime, I will do the milk challenge with you, buddy What's the milk challenge if we don't have milk in an hour? I saw someone in slow-mo. I will do it right? Oh Nice we'll get Dan Best show them up Can I mention we have the our achievement hunter holiday prints coming up this week at some point? We have no we have I think we have an image of it, but it's a super limited edition Prince. This year I asked a guy who won a holiday contest last year, like we did this graphic contest, and he won,
Starting point is 02:02:14 and there we go, we got it up on the stream for those who are watching. I was like, hey, we wanted to do a Christmas card to mail out to our gaming company, friends and stuff.
