Starting point is 00:00:00 John Stewart here, unbelievably exciting news. My new podcast, The Weekly Show, we're going to be talking about the election, economics, ingredient to bread ratio on sandwiches. Listen to the weekly show with John Stewart, wherever you get your podcast. You're listening to the Daily Show Ears Edition. I'm Michael Costa, member of the news team here at the Daily Show. We're talking Daily Show dogs today because he recently held an event called Indoggsision Rescuing Democracy, where we partnered with Head Count and Animal Haven here in New York to register people to vote,
Starting point is 00:00:44 and to get some dogs adopted. I'm here with Walter who is a currently weighed 14 pound Havanese mix rescue we think we think is Avonies mix yeah he's 14 pounds he was 22 before before the thyroid medication he looks so timely to me I know especially when he gets a haircut wait a second yeah I'm hearing voices but I don't even know who these people are well I'm the I'm th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the the the th th the the th th the the th th the th the the th. I'm the th. I'm the the th. I'm th. I'm the the th. I'm the their their their their their their the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. thi thi. thi. teeeeean. tean. teean. tee' te' te' te' te' te' theeean theeeeeee. the. I know, especially when it gets a haircut. Wait a second, I'm hearing voices, but I don't even know who these people are. Oh, well, I'm, I'm Jen Flans. I also work with you at the Daily Show. And Walter. And Walter.
Starting point is 00:01:13 And my dog, Vivian, is not here today. toobey, the dog walk, the today? She's having a much better life than we are. She's out and about in the city with her dog walker. She stays with him. And I got a few picks earlier that she's toting around the city. She looks great. Looks like she's having a good time. She's beautiful. She's like a model.
Starting point is 00:01:33 She's a model. She's a long leggy blonde. This big guy, he's 50 pounds. I'm Jocelyn Khan. I also work with Walter, Vivian, Jen, and Michael Costa. And this is my dog Riot. He's a rescue dog. Oh cool. Came, I've been told he came from Kentucky, and from Kentucky to Long Island. And yeah, he's 50 pounds. He's like the sweetest little fluffy guy. He probably wouldn't have survived long in the South with this kind of thick fur, but here we are, you know, in an air-conditioned podcast studio.
Starting point is 00:02:17 And Rye's grown up with us. Yeah, Rye's been here since he got to you. He's been here almost every day. Yeah, he knows you're talking about him about him him him on the show, Riot was a fixture already, and Quelly. Yeah, Rest in Peace, but Riot, as long as I have been on the show, Riot is always around putting a smile on people's faces. I remember one of the first times we had a morning meeting and there was like some heat in the morning meeting. People were arguing and it was long, as long, the the the the the the their, we their, we their, we th, we th, we th, we th. morning meeting and there was like some heat in the morning meeting people were arguing and it was about voter suppression and it was like getting really
Starting point is 00:02:46 heated and you look over and like riot's tongue is just hanging out of the side of his mouth and it's just such a beautiful thing. It's really what the dogs do for the show is immeasurable like you just like any moment of attention you're running around we're missing a deadline we of the dogs comes like tow that you down the hallway and you're just like how can I be stressed like truly don't care about like what you're doing either that they just they just bring the magic into every I love when he sits on the bench in in said meeting yes and is panting but also sitting aligned up with people yeah and it looks amazing it's a great I have a million shots pictures of it I know it's hard not to smile to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. I th. I th. I te. I te. I te. I te. I te. I te. I tie. I te. te. I te. te. te. te. I te. I te shots, pictures of it. I know. It's hard not to smile watching Riot be afraid of the tile floor. That too. Jocelyn did have to carry him down to the bottom because even at 50
Starting point is 00:03:34 pounds he is kind of a lap dog and is scared to walk on tile. And people are always asking me oh he's still afraid of the tile like because he's been afraid since he was little boy four months old and I was like yep no this is a deep internal we don't know how it happens he must know something about something going on under the tile that we don't know and you know don't tell us riot we don't want to you know a floorboard came up in the makeup room one time and there's a lot of a lot of wires under there there there are and it's possible it's that it's th and it's th and it's th and it's th and it's possible it's possible it's possible it's possible it's possible it's possible it's possible it's possible it's possible it's possible it's possible it's possible it's possible it's possible it's possible it's th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the the th th th th th th the th the the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the th the th the the the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the the the the the the the the the the the to thi to the thi the thi the thi the floorboard did come up in the hallway once, too. Okay. So maybe Ryan knows more than us. Jen, you might have been here. When did the first dog walk through this coveted door? I want to say, the first, I think there may have been a dog before, for a day or so, but the first like daily dog that came every day was Georgia.. the the the the the the the the their. their. I. I. I. I. I their. I their. I their. I their. I their. I their. I there. I there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's. So, there's. So, there's. So, there's. So, there's. So, there's. So, there's. So, there. So, there. So, there. So, there. So, there. So, there. So, there. So, there. So, there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. th. the th. th. the the th. th. the the. the. the the. the. the. the the. the the. the. the the the the but the first like Daily Show dog that came every day was Georgia Papas's dog Cosmo. Really? Yeah, she was like R. E. I see I love dogs and actually the production company, Hello Doggy. Uh, Georgia named it. So, there you go. That is. I'm so glad we stumbled onto the production company's name. Yes. Right. So Georgia was the first one to introduce dogs to the office. Oh, there. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. there. there. there. there. There. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. there. there. there. there. there. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. there. there. there. there. stumbled onto the production company's name. Yes, right? So Georgia was the first one to introduce dogs to the office, I believe, or at least make the rule and she had the power to make the rule.
Starting point is 00:04:53 Right. That's important. An intern can make a rule, but they can't enforce the rule. You need somebody who loves dogs at the top. And then, that was under Craig. And then John came in and love dogs. And so th. And so th. And th. And th. And to the to to to to to the to to the to the their to their to be their their their their their their their their their thoes. to be their to be their their to be tooom. tooom. tooom. I tooom. I to make to make to make to make to make to make to make. I to make to make. I to make. I to make. I to make. I to make. I. I toe. I. I. I toe. I. I. I to. I. I. I to. I to. It. I to. It. It. It. It. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's to. It's toe. It's. It's toe. It's. It's. It's. It's. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. to. to. to. to. the to, that was under Craig. And then John came in and loved dogs. And so then it became like a real thing where more dogs started coming. And you know, then from there it was just, you know, I will tell you, when John, in his last, like his, the video we made him on his last show, we did a tour of the office and all the staffers, he really wanted to showcase everyone to work we had the shot of the dogs playing poker because
Starting point is 00:05:27 the dogs are such a big part of the staff it was so cute and and but anyway then he laughed obviously and Trevor came in and remember having a conversation with Trevor at the very beginning because he wasn't necessarily a dog person and I was like if you are thinking about getting rid of the he's like do the dogs like the the the the the the the the the the the the they.. they. they. they. I I they. I they. I they. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I to the to to to to t. I tog. I tog. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I was. I was. I was t. I was. I was. I was. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. tog. t. t. t. tog. tog. tog. tog. tog. tog getting rid of the, he's like, do the dogs, like, do they have to be here? What's the rule? And I was like, listen, sure fire a way to get the entire staff to hate you. Because even, like, just leave them. Yeah, and then he came around.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Yeah, meanwhile, he came around. And there is a big ask for somebody that maybe there isn't isn't isn't isn't isn't isn't isn't isn't isn't isn't isn't isn't isn't isn't isn't, there isn't, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, the, there, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, to their, their, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, sure sure sure.s.s, sure sure sure sure sure sure. Surefire their way, sure. Surefire a their way, surethen he came around to the point where he's like going downstairs to the catering and picking up plates for riot, like he's like I gotta go get riot a plate and I'm like, uh, what about dog food? Yeah, yeah, he really came around in a big way? Yeah, so then he became, you know, a dog lover and the rest of his history. And then Daily Show dogs came about because? Because the the to the the the the the the the the the the the the the he the he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he th. He he he he he he he came heat. He's heat. He's going heat. He's going heat. He's going heat. He's going heat. He's going heat. He's going heat. He's going heat. He's heat. He's he he he he he he he he he he he he he he th. He he th. He th. He th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's like th. He's like the the the the the the the the the the the the the thin the the the the, a dog lover and the rest of the history. And then Daily Show dogs came about because the dogs were getting profiled by the dogist, I think. Yeah. Was that the photographer? Yeah. Okay, there was a, but I remember like, maybe it was YouTube in particular getting the magazine,
Starting point is 00:06:39 the magazine, I the magazine, was Bark Magazine. They were on the cover. We wanted to make it official. Yeah. So we needed to, yeah, so the doggist, because he was of the internet, that was print, that was years before, but we didn't have an account to tag all the dog. Like, so we started, Dossin and I and I talked to Christina Pellitier who is just a dog lover that works here and very, you know, great And she said she's done a great job with the she really does. She really does. She wrangles the talent and the talent are dogs. She does a great job with it and it's a real project. But yeah, Christina, we just asked her to do it.
Starting point is 00:07:27 And she's like, yeah, I will. Absolutely yes. And she has done so much with it. And we have like other famous dogs a to'coub's account that are following. And there's shelters we work with to do takeovers. Yeah, and unfortunately, right after we started it, we were like, and, and, their, their, their, their, and, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. thi. thi. to, th. to, to, th. th. thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. to, to, to, to, to, to. toea. toea. to. to. toea. toea. toea. th. And, th. And, th. And, th do takeovers. Yeah, and unfortunately, right after we started it, we were like, you know, taking shots of the dogs all over the office.
Starting point is 00:07:49 We had great content and then, of course, the pandemic. We were like, okay, right? Right, immediately, like months later. And we were like, okay, everyone's sending your dog picks from home. I mean, I set up multiple shoots. the taultz. I'm to to to too, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I was too, I too, I too, I to to to to to to to to too, I to to to to, to to to to to to to to to to to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, too, too, too, too, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the today, the the the too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too during the pandemic of Walter. There was a green screen behind him at one point. I don't know. You're committed. I love it. And also another part of the Daily Show that I believe is completely unique to it compared to other late night shows. I agree. I don't think the other shows have the dogs. Even if they have dogs, they have not embraced it. They don't have daily show. They're not capitalizing on it the way we are. We are. We are are are. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. the their. their. th. their. th. their. their. their. their. th. their. their. their. their. I their, their, their, I their, I their, I their, I. I their, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I. I. I. I t. t. t. the, t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. the, the, the, the the the it the way we are. We are pimping ours out. Yes. But I also think it's one of the things that's really special that I don't know if everyone
Starting point is 00:08:29 knows but the other shows are like in 30 Rock or like big more corporate spaces and we are this little studio all the way. Like, the th next to a horse stable. Like ride has grown up in the city but with horses like I'm always like oh he's just so he's used to horses because we're constantly like walking next next to horses. Yeah. Yeah. My thought Vivian tries to eat the horse poop every time I bring her up. Oh no Vivian. I'm like Vivian. All right we're gonna take a quick break. We'll to to to be to to be to be to to to to break to be to to to to to to the the the the to the the th. the th. th. th. th. the the th. the the the the the the the th. Vivian. Vivian. Vivian. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. Viv. a quick break. We'll be right back. John Stewart here. Unbelievably exciting news.
Starting point is 00:09:09 My new podcast, The Weekly Show. We're going to be talking about the election. Economics, ingredient to bread ratio on sandwiches. Listen to the weekly show with John Stewart, wherever you get your podcast. Welcome back. Hey, it's not all fun and games here at the Daily Show with the dogs. Let's, and this is not on the sheet. Dog fights, you want to talk about some dog fights. There had to be a couple like negative dog moments.
Starting point is 00:09:42 There were definitely, definitely. Well, first the saddest is when somebody here loses a dog and then it's like oh my god heartbreak and because we're all attached to it. My old dog Parker came here every day. And then it was like coming here and having everybody love her so much was such a comfort when I lost her. But I feel like for all of us we kind of mourn the loss of a dog that's here every day. But then also you know Parker used to get into it with Ali Greenberg. Ellie Greenberg was definitely a... I was just gonna say raise your paw if you hated Parker. This guy attacked Parker a few times because Parker was curious and would bounce around and if he was eating his food didn't like that someone was checking him out. Yeah, listen, they get territorial. If it's their office, it's
Starting point is 00:10:29 their office. But yeah, so there can be scuffle, most of the dog owners here are really responsible, I would say. They know their dogs and they know not to, like if your dogs, you know, resource guard, like you don't let them around the other dogs. But then there was like, some of the dogs just do weird things. Like, Wally used to rub up on leather couches, remember, it like a leather fetish. A leather fetish, too? He would go in and to John's office and like, just take but I did that once and he did not like it. Not for people. Dogs totally fine. Yeah, they're, I'm trying to think of the other like, I mean,
Starting point is 00:11:10 my Parker once stole a meatball off the catering table. Yeah, that's an epic Parker's dog legendary story. Yeah, we didn't know who did, like we used to remember when dogs would steal food out of the garbage and we'd go back and watch security footage to figure out which dog ate it. Not because we wanted to get them in trouble, but we wanted to tell the owner, the dog's gonna have diarrhea tonight just so you know. You just reminded me there was a big dog turd in the in the like edit bay hallway. Oh my god. Someone told me it was Walter and I th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. to to to to th. to get. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to was Walter and I didn't believe them and I went this was back when you watched the footage I went but this Nick was Nick was at the front and we're like rewinding I'm like it must have been a slow day Because he was very generous with this time with me and we watched my dog do it that happened with riot recently Oh interesting get get right he got sick you know then we had to get a new carpet up at the upstairs? I will say this show th this this this show show show this show this show the show the show the show the show the show the show I the show I the show I the show I the show I the show I the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th th th th th th th the the the the tttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttoy the the the the the the the the then we had to get a new carpet at the upstairs. I will say this show puts the dogs at such a level of importance here. It's really nice.
Starting point is 00:12:11 It's like, you know, nobody gets mad. Everyone couldn't have been nicer about it. I felt terrible. I was sweating near tears. Everyone was so nice. Because Ryan's just a sweet dog. Because your dog is such a in the most trafficked area of the building like during the busiest part of the day I'm on I will spare the details but I'm on my like knees like just I was being up yeah yeah stuff and I was I was jean was helping with her
Starting point is 00:12:40 because our show runners taking time whatever how many times Parker when she got older it got sick yeah she was the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the was was was was th the was the was the was th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the the the the the the the the the the the th was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was was th was th was th was th was th was th was th was th was th was th was th was th th th th th the was the was thi was thi was thi was thi was thi was thi the the the the the the the the the the thi the the the the thi was thi was the thi was thi was taking time on the day. How many times Parker, when she got older, got sick, she was, everybody was cleaning up Parker. It's like, okay, I remember people, anytime I got paged in like the last two years of her life, I'm like, oh God, she barfed her poop somewhere in the building. It's like when school or daycare calls, it's never to say, we love your kid. She's so smart.
Starting point is 00:13:06 She's so good. The dog park across the street, I feel like I go there sometimes with Walter. I don't ever see Daily Show dogs there. Is that a... By the way, Walter just lays underneath the bench there. So it's like, why did I do this? But I don't see a lot of Daily Show dogs. I'll tell you my experience for that which has been a couple of when he was younger I used to go like once you know like I try to go every day like even in the morning to burn them out
Starting point is 00:13:32 or like in the evening or whatever and just you might know this and you definitely know this dog parks can get real dicey. Like the owners? Sometimes. The people, the humans. It's the humans. There's some stuff that goes down that you're like, you know, I don't know if I want to be a part of this. Maybe not.
Starting point is 00:13:54 And then like, you know, there's some questionable dogs that come in. And neighborhood politics come into play, like there's signs up about like passive aggressive signs about this one dog that came in and ate my little dog. Yeah, I mean, you don't want to get, I've seen some crazy things. And I got two involved and I was like, you know what, I'm going to stay out of it. I was like, I'll just do the loop. Yeah, if it's like empty in the morning, it's a good place to like get them tired, yeah, yeah, yeah, their thired, yeah, I I I I I I thired, yeah, yeah, I thired, I thired, I thired, I thired, I thired, I thi, I's a thi, I's a good thi, I'm thi, I'm a good thi, I'm a good thi, I'm a good thi, I'm a good thi, like, like, like, like, I'm a good their their their their their their, I'm a good, I'm a good, I'm a good, I's a good thi, I's a good thi, I's a good thi, I's a good thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I that, I's a good that, I's a good that, I's a good that, I'm a good that, I'm a good that, I'm a good that, like, I'm a good, I'm a good that, like, I'm a good that, like, I'm a good that, I'm a good that, I'm like, we have a, this place is a dog run, basically. So they have friends here. They socialize here. I met a woman at that dog park who was like made stationary. Anyways, I hired her, she made some stationary.
Starting point is 00:14:30 Anyways, I thiranny, I took her, made some. It was great. theyrown, that's so funny. I don't even know if she has a dog. And then she just hangs out there looking for business. That's great. Now I feel bad about the guy who used to try and sell me jewelry there. Oh yeah, he's good. I bought my wife. I'm just kidding. It's sort of Ronnie.
Starting point is 00:14:53 It's a good place with that dog. I'm like, is that your dog or are you, oh, you're a walker, can I get your number? Let's talk about in dogcision, am I saying that right? Yeah, in dogcision, 2024, rescuing democracy. Let's talk about that. What is it? How did it come about? Well, it came about because we are a dog show, right? Like we love the dogs here. We got the Daily Show dogs, and there's a long history of John loving dogs.
Starting point is 00:15:30 Unfortunately, Dipper, who was a Daily Show dog back in John's first run, passed away, and John did, you know, attribute him on the show, and all these people reached out to Animal Haven to donate. And then we were in touch with Animal Haven about all these donations. It was so nice. And then we also are in our election season. So we were trying to think of a way to combine two things that the Daily Show really loves and cares about.
Starting point is 00:15:54 And so we basically were like, hey, what have we combined? Rescuing dogs and getting people to vote? Yeah. And then we th we th we th we th we th we th. th we thine th. thine thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu. thu thu. thu. thu. thu th. th. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to tho. the. the. the an thean. thean. thean. thean. thean. thean. toooooan. too. to to to to to to to to to to vote. And then we thought of a really dumb title. And it was born. It's great. But yeah, I mean, we feel like they're both good causes and we're gonna make any dog that gets adopted at any event that we throw in New York or Milwaukee or Chicago, because we're doing two in the other cities when we go. They're gonna be honorary daily show dogs. So we're gonna weak, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thi, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, they're they're tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, th, th, th, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, tho, tho, tha,. Oh, that's cool. So we're gonna, we're gonna. So you can actually adopt a dog at this event.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Yeah. You can, you can come to a daily show event, which is already fun. Already fun. And you can walk out with a new member of your family. Yes. Who's now gonna be a daily show dog member? Also a member of the Daily Show Family. also very good to remind all people you do have to register to vote. Yes and
Starting point is 00:16:45 you can't do it at the last minute right we're in the summer but think ahead everyone. We like to remind people to like all that hard. It's not hard. And also I mean selfishly you you register and you vote so then you can't vote so you're allowed to complain. You can't complain unless you went to vote. If you did not vote don't talk to me about you the the the to me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me to to me. the the to the to the to the to the the the the the to. the the the the the the the to. the th. th. tho. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. theeee. theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Yes. We're the. the. Yes. Yes. Yes. to complain. You can't complain unless you went to vote. If you did not vote, don't talk to me about it. Don't talk about headcount. What is headcount for those people that don't know? Headcount is a nonpartisan organization that registers people to vote and makes it easy for you so that if you, you know, I think there's a lot of confusion. This, this country makes things very confusing sometimes.
Starting point is 00:17:26 It's actually very simple. And they mobilize on the ground and, you know, sign people up to vote. And they used to do it in our audience line. They did, but then they found out that our audience is generally already registered to vote. I like that. We were not getting that many people registering because we have a really engaged audience already. But you know, it's great. It's nonpartisan. It's a group that's just like, just vote. I like that. Nonpartisan registered vote. If you want to adopt a dog though, you have to be Democrat. Right?
Starting point is 00:17:54 Just kidding. But dogs can be democratic, I think, honestly, I think part of why Walter's so unhappy is I feel like he's a Republican trapped in a Democratic house. You guys have a lot of dinner table arguments. He does have the anger of a Republican. We have more events for headcount coming up? Yeah, we are partnering with headcount on, we're going to be taking this to Milwaukee and Chicago on July 14th and in Chicago on August 18th. Right before the conventions. Right before the conventions. Right. And you can register to vote and adopt a dog. Correct. And you can do either one of those individually.
Starting point is 00:18:31 You don't have to do both. You can just come look at dogs and register. I think there's also head counts encouraging you to like have your friends check their registration, things like that. So it really is, it's an eventventventventventventventventventventventventventvent for the event for thauventvent for thua event, thua thiivedue. thiii. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the the thi. thi. the thi. thi. to, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. to, to, to, to, to, to, th. the the. the the the the the. the the the to. to. to. to. to, to, to, to, the. to like have your friends check their registration, things like that. So it really is, it's an event for anybody. Yeah, and even, I know what people are thinking right now, but all I have young kids. You might see Michael Costa there. I have young kids, they're not even eligible to register about you.
Starting point is 00:18:57 Well, what a great way to introduce them to how easy it is to be a member of a democratic society. There you go. There you go. There you go. I want to thank you both for being here on the in dog scission. Eargasm. I'm not going to. No, thank you. Thanks for Walter. Any last thoughts on dogs or anything that you want to share? Is there anything like with the guests, their dogs?
Starting point is 00:19:23 Yes, we do encourage our guests to bring their dogs if they have them or if we know that they have a dog and I remember once Amanda Seyfried came in with her dog Finn and he's kind of like fluffy and like, him and him and him and riot had like similar dispositions and it was like, I had made friends. Many pictures and they were very adorable together. I remember Pete Budajez when he was running for president. Oh, he just loved the dogs. They, him, yeah, they just stopped in the hall and put him. A lot of the guests get excited about the dog.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Sometimes they even ask, oh, I've seen Riot on Instagram. I mean, Riot's a celebrity. He just had a request the other day for me to bring him back. Well, when you're a guest somewhere and you're feeling the nerves, you're in a different place, the lighting is different, you're about to perform, and then you see a freaking dog walk by, it just, it totally chills you out. It is a really smart move, again we're doing solely for our branding. Solely. Yeah. We're very, I think it's a mental health thing here. Yeah. We're concerned about everyone, our guests, our staff, and so and also, you know, daycare for our dogs. Yep. Oh my god, it's that from like logistical and financial standpoint is tremendously helpful for me and my family. I mean, I can just bring them. And like, you know, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, th, th, th, th, th, th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thiiiiii. thiiiiii. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi me and my family. I mean, I can just bring him. I can just bring him. I can just bring him. And like, you know, you get to spend time with him all day.
Starting point is 00:20:48 He's here. He's having fun. You can know what he's doing. Even though in the field piece I recently shot with the pet, oh yeah. She read his mind and said that's just to work that it's quality time with me and him. Oh, that makes sense. You're distracted.
Starting point is 00:21:07 That's just one psychic screen. I'm getting a second opinion. Okay, okay. Maybe you should spend a couple minutes each day just with him. Close your office door. Close the door. He can to his eyes. Give him a tree.
Starting point is 00:21:20 This is our time. I think this is great this is great this is great this is great this is great th is great great thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi.
