Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 368- Tales from the Hood (1995)

Episode Date: February 21, 2022

In this week's episode, we're discussing the 1995 horror anthology by one of our own, a good Pittsburgh guy, Rusty Cundieff-- it's "Tales from the Hood." Special topics for your consideration include:... having believed that a distressing film was actually going to be a comedy before you saw it AGAIN, acceptable euphemisms for urination, poorly planned interventions by educators, anatomy that deserves its own billing, the new "Jackass film" and our sieve-like memories, and of course, the SHIT.  Are you a fan of horror anthologies? You can't go wrong with Episode 21- "Creepshow," Episode 68- "Trick r Treat," Episode 102- "Holidays," Episode 132- "Tales from the Darkside," Episode 178- "The Twilight Zone," and Episode 249- "Creepshow 2." And just for fun, do you like it when Katie expects a comedy and is devastated by dramatic events? You may enjoy Episode 266- "The Loved Ones."  Find us online: Support us at patreon.com/werewolfambulance Buy merch for yourself or those you love at www.teepublic.com/user/werewolfambulance on Reddit at r/werewolfambulance on Facebook at facebook.com/werewolfambulance on Twitter @werebulance on Instagram @werewolfambulance. werewolfambulance@gmail.com If you liked this, please leave us a review on Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen! Starting point is 00:00:00 Ah, the shit. Every time. Every time do you imagine someone just like poking at like dog turds left on their porch? Ah, the shit. I will discover which dog has been pooping here. It is the shit. Oh my god. Katie, what are we talking about this week? We're talking about the 1995 film, Tales from the Hood. Yeah. Mid by Good Local Guy? Yeah. Yeah. Pittsburgh Zone.
Starting point is 00:00:58 It's such a good name. It's a great name. It could be like the child protagonist in a book from the 50s. Yeah, absolutely. He's precocious and a little bit rambunctious. Yeah. But that's not what this movie is about. This movie is about the fucking South Central Los Angeles in 1995. Why is this label to comedy in some places? Because I, do you remember that Australian movie we did where I thought it was going to labeled a comedy in some places? Because I, do you remember that Australian movie we did where I thought it was going to be a comedy and then it ended up being a torture movie with a prom date? I felt like I'd been sold a bill of goods on that and I felt like I'd been sold a bill of goods on this as well. I enjoyed both movies, but this is not funny. I'm trying to think other
Starting point is 00:01:46 than Clarence Williams going, ah, the shit. There is nothing else funny in this movie. I would say other than that and the ancient Egyptian font that is not papyrus that they're inexplicably using for the opening titles of this movie. Oh man, it's so good. It's very good. Over, over a Skellington, holding a Glock with sunglasses, a gold tooth, and a backwards-tied bandana. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:17 Oh God, it's good. It's good. And that's, the Skel is the Cover to the Tales from the Hood soundtrack Yes, I recall the cover to the Tales from the Hood soundtrack that I had as well. Yes, I recall the soundtrack. Yeah, great. Which is just banger after banger. But you'd never seen this movie either, right? Oh, no, I owned this movie.
Starting point is 00:02:31 Oh, okay. For some reason I thought you hadn't seen it. I owned it on VHS. Nice. See, that's classic. How did you feel about it as a young man? A lot different than I do as an old man. Which is what I was thinking about? It's much more contextualized for me than it was now than it was then. But I really loved it back in the day as well. I found it to be a very enjoyable film and now it's more of like a,
Starting point is 00:03:04 hmm, oh, interesting, hmm. And interesting hmm and also oh no nothing has changed. That is the like when we get to the David Duke part you're like that guy's still running for office. Yes he is still in fucking politics the son of a bitch. Also God bless Corbunson, that's all I want to say about that. He went hard in the paint and I appreciated for it. I didn't, I did not need to hear Corbine Burnson ever say the N-word, but here we are. Enword and variations on that theme. Yeah. Which, one of the variations on the theme lost to me a friend. Who? This guy that I used that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I used that I used that I used that I used that I used that I used that I used that I used that I used that I used that I used that I used that I used that I used that I used that I used that I used that I used that I used to to to to that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I th. that I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. thi. that that that that that that that that that used to be in a band with, he laughed wrong at it and I was like, Ooh, we're done. Really, laughed wrong. Yeah, he, he enjoyed it a little too much.
Starting point is 00:03:50 I see. So this is a, a four tales that are held together by a wrap-around story. Yes. Which I always like in an anthology. A good through line, yeah. Exactly. And this is your classic three gentlemen, go to a mortuary to collect the drugs that a gentleman found in the alley behind his mortuary. The shit. A, the shit.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Yeah, I had never seen this movie because I was under the impression that it was very, very silly. Okay. I don't know why I thought that it was like a comedy. I don't know why I thought that's why I thought that's why I've never seen Bones the comedy horror and I was like, huh? Oh, comedy first? Yes. Yes. Give it a goog, I'm tell you. I felt the same way way way way way way way way way that way that way that way that way that way that way that way that way that way that that that that that that that that that. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. I don't that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that. that. that. that. that. that. thi. thi. thi. thi. I thi. thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. thi. thi. thi. thooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I thooooooooooo. I that's that's'm telling you. I felt the same way. That's why I've never seen Bones, the Snoop Dog Horror Film. I've never seen that either.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Yeah, because I was like, Snoop Dog Horror Film, that's going to be too silly. Very silly. So yeah, I hadn't seen this. And I... This is the man with a Don Not Swee-Wogeyboard in front of him. Sorry, you were saying, too silly. I totally lost on what I realized it was looking right at me. You've never seen it because you thought it was going to be too silly. Oh yeah, it's not fucking silly at all, really? No, no. No, it's actually like, it's morality tales.
Starting point is 00:05:15 It's, it is totally paved the way for like, get out. Sure. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, especially that one vignette or segment in here for sure. Have you seen the trailer for Nope? I have. I am intrigued. I have no idea what's going on in it, but I'm intrigued by it. That's how I felt about us as well and ended up loving that. So, I'm very excited.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Yeah, me too. Yeah. When's that coming out soon? I think July. Who could fucking live until July? We can. Honestly, are we going to make it? Yeah, I'm just checking. A society has gotten together and said, we're making it at least until nope.
Starting point is 00:05:56 We need to see nope and then we can be done. That's what happened when Johnny Dubs stopped making good movies, my nona died. It's fucking tell me it's not true. She said it for years. I need to send you this article that missie sent me which was fake responses to a New York Times cooking recipe and one of them is I used to make this with my nana blah blah blah blah and the last line is I miss her like crazy bitch. And I vote of you because of your love from your Nana. Oh my Nana's the best. She was not a crazy bitch but she was crazy for Johnny Depp
Starting point is 00:06:34 until we started to suck and then she died. Let's move on. Was Cameron credited at the beginning of this movie then does not appear. No it's someone named Camarin. Oh. Oh, I'm just a this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this th th th th th th th th th. No, it's someone named Cameron. Oh, but there's Cameron. Oh, there's a single name of Cameron. Okay. I was like, Cameron. Nope, no apostrophe, we're good. Okay, just checking.
Starting point is 00:06:55 I do like Cameron. I know he would have been, this would have it a little bit pre-Camron. We could still have been Cameron, just not, you know, big Cameron. He's a little Cameron. They should do a being down John Malkovich but being Cameron. That's great. Yeah. Copyright, copyright. Someday we're going to do something with this treasure trove of ideas we've been copyrighting. So they go to the funeral home, it's the Sims funeral home, it looks like a haunted house. Of course it does. And the one guy's real spooked, well they're all real spooked, but the other two are being too tough to be spooked. Right.
Starting point is 00:07:34 And they go up and they knock on the door and Mr. Sims opens the door and scares the shit out of them. The one guy gets knocked. th down down down. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi. thi. thi's thi's thooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo o' the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the the th. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. Well. th. Well. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the. the. the one the. the. the one the. the. the one the one guy's the one guy's the one the one guy's the scenery so hard and you're like, have some more. Yeah, yeah. Feed it in there. And he, so he brings them in to show the, to get the shit for them, which is the drugs. And first he's like, huh, let me show you this casket and tell you this story. He's just sucking his teeth all over the place too, like... Phth-t-pick-pick-shh. And what's the first vignette that we get? Oh man. It's about police brutality.
Starting point is 00:08:14 Does it... I don't know? Do they have names? I don't think we were given like... The Officers? Okay, the office. No, The first one is called Rogue Cop Revelation. Okay, okay. Basically, there's a civil rights activist who seems to go after bent coppers. Yep. Um, who are both evil and very prepared for anything, seemingly.
Starting point is 00:08:40 The bent coppers? Yes. Uh, and things just kind of go down now quickly. I had a very tough time watching this. In the wake of the George Floyd and being on the day that that fucking cop got off for pulling her gun rather than her taser. And she, no, I'm sorry, she got two years in prison. Yeah, it's rough. Yeah, it's rough. I was like, I'm just going to want to turn this off. And it was such a powder keg of an issue at the time too. Sure. Los Angeles. Yeah, yeah, post Rodney King. Yeah, for sure. That was brutal. This is all so brutal. It never gets any better. I'm feeling low.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Can we, we got to punch this up. Luckily, next week's movie is nothing but joy. Oh God, yes. Okay. We should have recorded that one first. This movie does, or this, this particular episode in the movie has a man with one of my favorite names ever. What's that? Wings Hauser? Wings Hauser. Yeah. That one's discussing the actor, Wings Hauser. And Michael Massey is the man who th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, the man, thi, thi, the man, the the thi, the thi, the thi, the thi, the thi, the thi, thi, the thi, thi, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th, the th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the actor wingshouser and Michael Massey is the man who fired the gun with a blank in it that killed Brandon Lee oh no yeah he's it wasn't really a blank is that what happened I think it was a blank and just like a piece of particulate came out of it and hit him oh no yeah oh that's I remember correctly that's terrible but he's the partner to the black cop who's he's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th I I I thigh thigh thigh thi thigh. thi. I thi. I thi. I the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th is I I I I th. th. th. th. th. the is I'm. the is I'm. the. the. theeeeeeeea. thea. theeeeeeea. theeeee. I the. I the. I the. thrible. But he's the partner to the black cop who retires from the force after this incident
Starting point is 00:10:06 where the cops beat a man to death, or beat a man to almost death, and then inject him with heroin so they overdoses and then put his car into the river. They are so ready to do that at any moment. They had their like heroin car into the river. And when the cop injects in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in the river kit ready to go. And when the cop injects him he's like you're right we are to get like drugs. We are terrible cops. Ben Coppers man. Guys if you haven't watched line of duty watch all every episode. Watch it twice maybe. Yeah I might restart it honestly. It's not that good. I don't know why I'm telling you to do this. Be careful because you're going to get mad horny for Steve Arnaud. No one wants to fuck Steve Arnott.
Starting point is 00:10:49 All of England does. It's a joke for you, line of duty heads out there. In the fiction of this movie or TV show. So there are there are the three white cops who do the crime. And then there's the black cop who th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, th. th. th. the, th. th. th. th. th. the. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. there are the three white cops who do the crime, and then there's the black cop who retires after the crime. It's such a wild thing that he would just leave the forest without, like, it's the exact opposite of what anybody would do, because you're either going to keep quiet to keep your job, right? Or you're going to not care about your job and like turn on these guys. But he does neither, which which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th is th. thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. So, thi. So, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. So, these guys. But he does neither, which I thought was a little odd. Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. He just becomes a raging alcoholic with a real dirty t-shirt.
Starting point is 00:11:29 Yeah, that's all you know someone's hit the skids. This is when they're real dirty t-shirt. When it looks like this is beneath lots of pasta? I don't know. I don't know. And behind the spaghetti warehouse is a mural to Ezekiel Morehouse, the man who was killed, and he looks like the most evil human man that's ever existed. He does not glorify him very much, and he seemed by all accounts to be a good man. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:56 And his mural, he looks like he's going to unhing his jaw and chomp you to death. But the mural speaks to Officer Clarence Smith and says, bring them to me. I like that a lot. Yeah, it was very silly. I liked it. Maybe that's why someone's not this. Like, there are very like comedic horror troops in this. Like, like the voice, bring them to me. But then it's like, oh, but actually, this is this this this this is is this is is this is is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is about this is about this is about this is about this is about this is about this is about this is about this is about police this is about police this is about police this is about police this is about police this is about police this is about police this? Yeah. Like the voice, like them to me. True. But then it's like, oh but
Starting point is 00:12:25 actually this is about police brutality and, okay. Okay. There's also the line about the refried beans. Why not just fry them once, fry them right the first time and get out of there, which is comedy. Classic Mitch Hedberg joke. I'd like to try fried beans to see if I like them just as much. Oh, that was a funny guy. RIP. He's one of those people that I get sad about sometimes thinking about them being dead, because you had so many good dumb jokes to give us. Yeah, he was not done with dumb jokes.
Starting point is 00:12:58 Uh-uh. Well, everyone's... I'm sorry, I just brought it back down. Anyway, this guy takes his wiener out, Wings, Marsden or whatever. Oh yeah, because the cop gets them to come to the cemetery. The former cop, the retired cop gets them to come to the cemetery. And Wingshaus was like, oh yeah, I'm gonna, I'm gonna say hello to him. There's a nice long to pulling his time. But he never, his dick is never actually out, which I appreciate, but there's like a long pantomime of the dick being revealed. He's like, were I pulling out my dick? This is how I would do it. Having just watched Jackass forever, have you seen this yet?
Starting point is 00:13:34 No, of course not, but I'm very glad that you have, and we haven't even discussed it yet. There are, I would say it's an hour and some change long movie. 40 minutes of it are dick heavy. Great. There's a lot of cock in that movie. Great. Being abused in ways that is just like, you thought of a new thing to do to a dick, weird. How can they still, like how Mitch Headberg had so many jokes left? How does Jackass still have the dick jokes?
Starting point is 00:14:01 Was it funny? Was it great? It was really funny. Good. But it was also like, you guys have to stop doing this and they're like, we have to stop doing this. Really? We're not going to do this anymore. Yeah, Johnny Knoxville said he won't do it again. Well, that's probably for the best for him. Yeah, because he got hit the bull. A bull. A bull. A bull, a bull. Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, a. B. B. B. B. B. B. B. B. B. B. B. B. B. the. B. B. B. B. B. B. B. B. B. B. B. B. B. B. theL? Yeah. Okay. B-O-W-L? I don't know. They sound the same to me. A male cow hit him, knocked him unconscious, broke his rib and some other stuff, and then it took him six months to get all of his cognitive faculties back. Oh my god. Yeah. Wow. So they just can't take hits like they used to. You'd think that would happen at some point. Sure. Yeah. Yeah, there there there there there there there were their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. I th. I th. I was th. I tho. I thoo. I thooooooooooo tho thooooooo toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I to. You'd think that would happen at some point. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. I there were points where I was like, come on, stop doing that. Yeah. Like at one point they hit, he hit Stivo in the head with a, you know those football like chucking machines that are the two wheels spinning really fast, he puts a volleyball through one of those. Fuck. And hit Stivo square in the forehead. That's awful. I was like, I I I th like, I th like, I th like, I th like, I th like, I th th th th th th like, I don't like, I don't th th th th th th like, I don't thi thi thi thi, I don't thi, I don't thi, I'm thi, I don't thi, thi, thi, thi, tho tho tho tho tho the the the the the the their they they they they were they their their they their they they their their their they they their they they they they they their they're they're th. Yeah, th. Yeah, thi, thi, thi, thi, the the the the thee theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee theee the the the the the the the they're And hit Stivo square in the forehead. That's awful.
Starting point is 00:15:05 I don't think I'd be your friend anymore if you did that to me. But it's funny, it's for yuck-yucks. Yeah, I guess if our friendship had been based on stapling each other's nutsacks to her legs previously. Oh, God. Do you think that in the time that Johnny Knoxville was cognitively impaired, he forgot about that horror movie he made? I hope so. Were the Satanic Panic one that came out a couple years ago? Yeah, didn't we watch that? No.
Starting point is 00:15:32 We didn't do that? We didn't do that? We didn't do that. I also watched it without you. Oh, that's so weird. I am certain. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that. that. that. that. that. that. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Oh. th. th. th. th. that. tha. that. that. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. Oh. the on this show. I don't think so. What is it called? I don't know, just look up Johnny Knoxville. Oh, this is... I had to Google the sea of whether or not we did next week's movie already. Really? We've done almost 400 of these fucking things. I cannot remember anything. We, we summon the darkness? I think so, yes. Wow. I watch that on my own accord. Are you sure? Well, should we? We? we we? we we? we we? we we? we we? we we? we we? we we? th we? th we? th we? th we? th we? th we? th we? th we? th darkness? I think so, yes. Wow, I watch that on my own accord. Are you sure? Should we? Yeah, we can. Okay. Add it to the list. Anyway, bleed the old lizard says the man taking his
Starting point is 00:16:18 dick out of his pants, or the second man taking his dick out of his pants. Yeah, because he doesn't want to go to the bathroom and the guy's like, uh, you're gonna do it. You're gonna, like, he has a weird piss fetish where he's like, I'm gonna watch you piss right now. He wants to see that guy piss right now. He wants to that thii. Bleed the lizard. That's. You just need to leak it or drain it. You don't need to bleed it. No, that's mean. What, bleeding it? Yeah, you're going to cut it open and bleed it out? That's terrible.
Starting point is 00:16:49 Yeah, you just need to leak the lizard. Just let him pee. Also, it's a snake. Your tuck doesn't have arms and legs So he, while he's pissing and arm shoots up out of the ground and grabs him by the old ding dong and starts beating him against the headstone by his dick. That's pretty good. I like that a lot. Yeah, and then just drags him into the ground by his dick.
Starting point is 00:17:17 Yeah, yeah. All practical, all beautiful, loved it. It does look great. And then it's sort of, it looks like maybe he's been fired out, like there's a lot of smoke, but he hasn't. Now he's in the casket. Yeah. And what's happening? And now the formerly dead man is out.
Starting point is 00:17:31 Holding a still beating heart. Yeah. That's pretty good. Why wasn't he holding a still beating dick? That I would have enjoyed more. Why do I have a name that says, or a note that says, you got a green dick? Oh, that's what one cop says to the other, he says to the rookie cop, he's like, you got a green dick? The cop's like trying to step up to the, to the, the cops that have tenure. Did that make your stomach turn over a little bit to imagine a green dick? Because it did for me. But why is it green? Don't Google it.
Starting point is 00:18:07 Should I not? He's a greenhorn. I know I get the, I mean I get the reference. I'm googling it though. I'm googling it. Why are you googling green? Yeah, honestly, the search results for green dick are pretty, pretty tame. Oh, here's a hoax dick. You're going to eventually get to Dragon's fucking cars. So just that I'm here for. I have a note about the conversation the cops were having.
Starting point is 00:18:53 What was it? It just says, the note just says, pussy, pussy, pussy. Oh yeah. Oh, God. There's um, they're running away, they're driving away from More House. And one of the cops is like thkip, thuu pa, thu, thu, thu, thu, thi, thu, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, thi, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, theea, thin, thi theaa thea thin, thea thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, they're driving away from Morehouse, and one of the cops is like, how far back is he? And he's just on the back windshield, which I liked a whole lot. And then he beheads the guy. Yeah, he reaches into the car through the roof and rips Wings, Housers.
Starting point is 00:19:23 Charter's name is Strom, which is a reference to Strom Thurman, the racist-sousers head off. Wings-Housers. Characters name is Strom, which is a reference to Strom Thurman, the racist-ass Senator. Yeah. This movie is great for, it's like on par with the naming all of your characters after horror movie actors. Totally.
Starting point is 00:19:40 Because like Morehouse and Strom Thurm, it's like all these references, like, kind of around black culture and stuff that are pretty........... th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, tham, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th th th th th th th theeeeeean, th th th thinks, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, theee. th it's like all these like references like kind of around black culture and stuff that are pretty interesting. And David Duke. Yes, Duke Metzger, right? Duke Metzer. Uh, yeah, he deserves to be beheaded. Yeah, he does. And then Morehouse just stands up holding a cop-severed head, which I have to say, fucking
Starting point is 00:20:01 great. And then the other cop shoots the car. Why is it, why is this cop car made of explosives? Cop car shouldn't be made of explosives. It's the all-gasoline model, every inch of it is covered in all touches. Just compacted gasoline. When you close the door, it like swishes on the inside. It's like a goddamn aquarium. What is that green stuff inside of his chest
Starting point is 00:20:31 cavity? Oh that's why I have the note he's got bubble guts. I don't know. I don't know what that was meant to be. It's like some kind of magic I guess and then he throws the cop up against the wall using psychic zombie man powers and hyperdermic needles that are left on the street. There's a lot of them. A lot of them. And the the cop, and then the cop melts and turns into a mural. Yes.
Starting point is 00:20:57 I have a crucified cop. I mean, a syringe crucifix. Yeah. I feel like I definitely owned a crosspunk seven-inch that had somebody crucified with syringes at some, I don't remember what panda was for, but absolutely appropriate. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then he says, welcome to my world. Which is very silly. Strangeland.
Starting point is 00:21:16 Did you think about De Sinear and Stanglant? Because you love that movie in that line so much. What is this? This is zero-gauge dupe-duba, welcome to my world. Your world is boring. You're a fucking tow-truck driver. That's got his septum pierced. Ooh, what a world. Question? Yeah. How did the mortician know that whole story? Yeah. Well we find out later how we knew that whole story. They don't question this. Yeah. No. But one of them does say talk about some insane in the membrane type of shit, which you think I like that? Of course you did. I know I did. And the vignette ends with Morehouse driving Clarence and saying he's a cop killer. The vignet ends with Morehouse driving Clarence and sane. He's in the institution and the cops say, and he's a cop killer, or the men in the institution say he's a cop killer,
Starting point is 00:22:06 he's killed, murdered three police officers. And get this, he's a former cop himself. Wow! Yeah, I know. That's all what ends you. Wow! That's insane in the membrane type shit. A great 1995 reference. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. That's, the, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Starting point is 00:22:27 ringing them bells in 2022. Oh I listen to that record all the time. Yeah, it's great. Every song is the same. Every song is good. I just really had a formula for that one. I just want Sendog to get some laxative. It just sounds like he's trying to poop the whole time. He's pooping. I love it. Oh, okay. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, to poop the whole time. He's pooping. I love it. Oh, okay, this next one is so fucking hard to watch. This is what this is the funny one? This is the one they got the comedy moniker. It's got David Allen Greer from living color in it. Did he say? David Allen Greer was everywhere in 1995?
Starting point is 00:23:01 Yeah. Oh yes. Yes. Wow, he's's fucking monster in this both literally and figuratively. Oh, fucking baby Walter. He's so cute. I was immediately like who fucking her Walter, I will kill them. He was in Menacea Society. He played one of the older kids as a young kid in Menaistist Society. Oh, yeah. I haven't seen that since I was too young kids, or one of the older kids as a young kid in menace to society. Oh, yeah. I haven't seen that since I was too young to have seen it. Sure. For sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, how old, how old you weren't? You? When did that movie come out? Uh, around this time, 94, 95, 96? Yeah, so probably like late 90s. Yeah, so probably like late 90s. Yeah? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to th. th. th. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to appreciate to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. young. Yeah. Yeah. You were not in your 20s. No, I was in high school. It's a good movie. I'll rewatch. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:53 So this this one is called Boys Do Get Bruised. Oh God, I hate this. I hate this. I hate watching. Yeah. I hate watching this. I hate watching this I hate I really I mean it's good yeah I hate watching this I hate watching children get hurt sure I can't it's like very no I don't want to and I realize that's the point but like yeah yeah yeah so this is following a young child by the name of Walter going to school where his teacher is Richard Garvey played by one Rusty Condiff. Yeah he's he's try to be like a real good listener but he's not asking Walter for any detail which I feel like could have really you know helped in some way. It's like have you not heard of maybe I don't know symbolism of some kind or... Is, is the...
Starting point is 00:24:45 Not a teacher, not a parent. Sure. Is the best thing to do to go directly to the parent's house and start questioning them about why their child is bruised? I don't think that's protocol. No, no. No, it seems like you're putting them in grave danger. Yeah. Yeah. Rusty! And he does! He does. He does.
Starting point is 00:25:08 So we get a few scenes of Rusty coming to, or reverse it? Of Walter coming to school. And he's got various states of bruises on his wrist, and he's got a black eye at one point. And we keep seeing him afraid at night as someone's trying to get into his bedroom. Yeah. And he. And it, and it, and it, and it, and it, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th no, thi, thi thi, thi thi thi, thi, thi thi, thi, thi, he's th, he's th, he does, he does, he does, he does, he does, he does, he does, he does, he does, he does, he does, he does, he does, he does, he does, he does, he does the, he the, he the, he the, he the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th's trying to get into his bedroom. Yeah. And it's got this like, there's like a molestation vibe to it as well that I'm just like, oh, I do not like this. No, it's awful.
Starting point is 00:25:36 And he keeps drawing pictures of a monster. Classic monster. Classic, green, green, green, very dark nipples. Yeah. I was like, really just, someone spent time on those nipples. I know, like, I thought this too, because the nipples seemed out of place and it was like an adult drew this. They were like, it's got to have nipples. Give me the darker green, you know. Wild. The nipples were the only thing they were like perfectly colored inside of the line.
Starting point is 00:26:07 Someone's got a thing for a monster nips. Nips are kind of a specialty, so what do you guys think? I think I really nailed these. I think I got like, it says monster nip to me. And to be fair, it does. So this all culminates with the teacher going to the house one night, just showing up on an house, not making an appointment to see the family. No.
Starting point is 00:26:31 And the bird shit's on him? Yes, my nunna actually used to say that getting shit on him. Yes, my nunna actually used to say that by a bird was good luck. And her nunna used to say that as well. And her nuntie's she she she she she she she she she she's she's she's she's th is th is th is th is thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi to say thi to say to say to say to say to say to to say to to to say to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to tooom thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thiii thiiiiiiii the thiiiiiiiii thiiiiiii too be like, you've got shit on you. You know, if a baby shit's on you why you've changed this diaper, it's good luck. Oh, I can assure you it is not. So... You know what's really good luck is when you're giving a baby a bath and they shit in the bathtub and you're just like, come on! Why? Why? Why not? Why not? Truly, yeah. I mean, have you ever shit in the bathtub? Probably super relaxing. That's terrible. Why would you say that? So we find out that the monster came after his dad died. Yeah. He says that right away which is an indication that something is
Starting point is 00:27:25 wrong. In 1985 there was still child protective services you could have contacted somebody who was a professional that could have handled the situation. I mean I don't know when mandated reporting started but I would be willing to believe that it was in place in 95. Yeah for sure yeah for sure so he just shows up at their house. Yeah get shit on. And then mom is cleaning the bird shit off of him. And th. And. And. And. And. And. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the th. the th. the th. the the th. th. the th. the th. the th. the the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. t. t. te. te. te. tod. te. te. toda. toda. today. today. today. the house. Yeah, get shit on. Get shit on. And then mom is cleaning the bird shit off of him and kind of being like, if you want to fuck, we can also do that. Yeah, she's being very coy. Yeah, because she's like, well, Walter gets bruised very easily. He's very clumsy.
Starting point is 00:27:55 He does not get that for me. He does not get that you're not a clumsy fucker? I am precise when it comes to fucking, I do not miss. There's been a couple times where I've just fallen on a dick. I didn't even mean for it to happen. Tripped and fell on a dick. That's all I got pregnant. Oh, God. And so the guy, the monster comes home.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Yeah, Dag! Carl. Dag. And he is immediately out of the gate, not a good dude. No, not a good dude. And like, the teacher is getting a little bit, not confrontational with him, but being like, yes, he says there's a monster that lives here. And it like, oh my god, you're gonna get him fucking killed. Yeah. What are you thinking, Rusty Kundiff?
Starting point is 00:28:52 I don't know. You don't know. Oh man. So we're seeing him basically a menacing poor baby Walder. Oh wait, we forgot one important thing. What's that? Earlier he had drawn the monster. Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty Ty that that that the the the that the the the that the that. the the th. the the th. the th. the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi the thi thi th. the the the there's there there there there there there there he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. they. the the the important thing. What's that? Earlier he had drawn the monster and he had drawn Tyrone who had been abusing him at school. He had a bully. The bully. Walter had crushed Tyrone's picture. Yeah. Because some girls hold him that if he crushed the pictures it would kill the monster. Right. So when he crushed the picture, Tyrone broke both of his arms and both of his legs and the two that he took when Rusty Gundiff is talking, oh sorry, Mr. Garvey is talking to another teacher and the teacher's like, I don't know how you break both arms or both legs with all in the flight of steps. It's like easy. I think pretty easy. I mean, I'm not shocked by that information.
Starting point is 00:29:49 So he's menacing Walter, and in shadow he's like a big scary monster looming over Walter, and then when we spin back around it's just a man, and he has a monster tattoo. Why, though? It was just a banner that said monster. Yeah, it wasn't like, I guess when I say monster tattoo, if you've not seen this movie, you probably pictured a man having a tattoo of some sort of monster. No, it was a banner.
Starting point is 00:30:14 It was the words. It was just the words. Monster, that's me. That's me. This is where I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I wrote, this was supposed to be a comedy. So mom comes in to try to stop Carl from, from, has he already knocked the teacher out at this point? I think so, yes. And he's already hit mom once and she comes in to try and stop him and he just starts
Starting point is 00:30:36 going ham on mom and it's a real big fucking bummer because he pulls off his belt, it sucks. And I could see how you would be distressed thinking that this was a comedy. Yes. The last time I thought something was a comedy, a man's feet got nailed to the floor. And he was forced to slow dance. I like that that's the last time you thought something was a comedy serious film. Steve Martin is a dramatic genius.
Starting point is 00:31:06 I do love Steve Martin, though. Did you watch Only Murders in the building? I have not yet. Ah, it's so fun. Is it? I really liked it. I need to check it out. Yeah. I like those two together. Yeah, you're gonna like it. Yeah. And who is the third? Selena Gomez. She's very delightful, yeah. She's like a Nickelodeon star or something? I think so. I think she made of David Bieber? Justin? Yeah, that's the one.
Starting point is 00:31:32 Oh, yeah. You know, that Anne Frank probably would have been a believer. Did he said that one? He said that. He said not wrong. People can't get upset about that. He's Canadian anyway. I still have successfully, I don't think ever heard his music. I know one song. Okay, doesn't he have a song where he says baby a bunch? Baby, baby, oh! Okay, I think I've heard that song. That's the one I know. That's gonna be like 20 years at this point, right? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th, th, th, th, th, th th, th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi that song. That's the one I know. That's gonna be like 20 years old at this point, right? Yeah, at least. Yeah, he was like nine. Yeah. So, uh, yeah, back to the domestic violence comedy.
Starting point is 00:32:13 Wow, you know, I'm glad we could digress a little bit of a pick me up. Just a little levity in this podcast, Anne Frank and all. Oh, so eventually Walter crumbles up the monster picture. He like kind of folds him and like, he creases in. The first is like a real extreme, extreme crease on his arm. Yeah, and it breaks it at a really weird angle while he's holding the belt up. So good. And then turns him into a puddle of a human being.
Starting point is 00:32:56 Yeah, he becomes a mush pile. So funny. And they're like, what are we going to do? This is so suspicious and the teacher's like, we'll just set him on fire. Yeah, you know what to do with this, Walter. That's not suspicious, but okay. But then they do. They do, they send him on fire. And then we see his corpse in the casket and he's like doing Dracula hands but burned. You know what I mean by Dracula hands? Of course I do. Oh, There it is.
Starting point is 00:33:31 All in all, mortifying, mortifyingly hard to watch. Yeah, it's a, it's, it's probably the roughest of the four. Yeah. Although the last one is really hard to watch too. Yeah, actually all of them. Ah, not the third one. The next one's great to watch. Yeah, because watching David Duke can just come up. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the th is th is th is th is th is up and spelled with a K. No. Son of a bitch, Rusty-K-K-K-Ks. Too many. It should have been K-K-K-K-K-KK-K-K-KKs. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's. It's-K. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's-K. It's the-K. It's the-K. It's the-K. It's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the-K. It's the out, like picking your punk name. Yeah, I guess it's a little cotton-mouth kings, isn't it? I have been spreading your cotton-eyed Joe information to anyone who will listen to me. I mean, it's shocking new information for me. Indeed. Okay. So now we follow a very exciting story about a, if you're, for the people who aren't familiar with who David Duke is, he's what we like to call a piece of shit. He's a former Grand Dragon who was almost governor of Louisiana. He was in the Louisiana Congress at some point. Was it? In like the state level, the house of representatives. Probably actually at the time this movie was made. It was really in mid-90s, yeah. He had run. He had run. Well, the, well, well, the, the, the, the, the, the, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if the people. the people. the people. the people. the people. the people. the people. the people. the people, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, the the the the the the the the the the the people, the the the people, the people, the the people who the people who the people who are the people who the people who are the people who are the people who the people who the people who the House of Representatives, I probably actually at the time this movie was made.
Starting point is 00:34:47 And he had really in the mid-90s, yeah. He had run for president as well around this time. But like incredibly unsuccessfully. Sure. Yeah, but enough to get like national news attention to the point of like when the Unite the Wright rally happened in 20, what was that 2017? Yeah, I don't even. to to to to to to to to the th. It th. It th. It th. It th. It th. It the Unite the Right rally happened in 20, what was that, 2017? Yeah, I don't even know. It's like all a blur since then. Sure, sure. He was like a big voice in that bullshit. So he's still a relevant going concern.
Starting point is 00:35:19 I mean, Donald Trump has referred to him as like a fine young man or something. He's not a young man. He refused to acknowledge that he knew who he was. Right, even though there's like pictures of him with his arm around him. Huh? What's up? Yeah. Yeah. Hey, Ma, Camer on for you?
Starting point is 00:35:32 We can get it on to night. We're going to get it catchy to the point of like, I'll probably sick at bad stuff right now, aren't I? That's probably isn't good. It's basically a baby, it's cold, but both parties are on board. That's just consensual sex. Yeah, but like catchy, consensual sex. Baby, baby, baby, woo! Anyway, David Duke. Duke Mitzker?
Starting point is 00:36:06 Metzger. Okay. So, Corbyn Burnsin is playing Duke Metzger. He is the best hair. His wig is intense. Corbyn Benson is an intense man. Yeah, he's quite a dentist. And another comedy film.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Another thing I thought, you know what, that was funnier than this for sure. It was a funny movie. I'm actually actually back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back to b actually back you know what, that was funnier though. Funny than this for truer. It was a funny movie. Actually back to believing that the dentist is a comedy, is that possible? I think you just, if you get far enough away from it, it's funny. That's so true. I did make jokes about my beloved grandmother's death in this episode, so yeah, yeah, feel fine about it. So he is running for governor maybe.
Starting point is 00:36:53 Yeah, governor of Louisiana I think. And his campaign manager is an African American man who is walking him through how to win this. And it's very upsetting to watch. Giving advice on how to be more acceptably racist I guess. Yeah, it sucks. David Metzger lives on a former plantation. Purposely. Purposefully. Oh at the end of the last vignette we saw Mr. Sims close the casket and a doll fell down and he starts talking about these dolls that embody human spirits. Which doesn't make any sense that they wouldn't be in Louisiana or does it?
Starting point is 00:37:33 Well, it does because of what we learned at the end of this movie. Okay, fine. And in David Metzger's house is a mural to a woman who was a enslaved on the plantation and made all of these dolls for the slaves who were murdered on the plantation when the plantation's owner didn't want them to go free so they killed everyone. That's fucked up. Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. Cool, cool. Uh, I just realized there's parts of the country where you couldn't show this movie in school because it talks about slavery. Right.
Starting point is 00:38:10 Anyway, we're doing a really good job here in 2022. It'll get better. Yep. It'll get, it'll get, yep. The man who is his campaign the campaign manager is showing David Metzger how to be a better, more acceptable, racist. And while he's doing this, he falls down a flight of steps. He looks like he's going to lean against a wall that he believes to be there, but there's no wall there.
Starting point is 00:38:36 He just goes right down the steps, which is actually kind of funny. He does, maybe this part is comedy. He dies. He dies. He does like a whoa and he dies he dies he dies that's less funny and then we're at his funeral where David Messker and his I guess wife are the only white people there yeah and apparently rusty condiff's dad is the preacher yeah yeah and his mom is the at the end of this movie right yeah love it love any rusty at piss work sound I know out there man Chester their that yeah yeah yeah yeah I know the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their the the the end of this movie, right? Yeah, yeah. Love it. Loving you, Rusty.
Starting point is 00:39:06 Pissburg's own. Hey, what they're, Manchester. Oh no, Cocoa's. Why do I even know this is this lady's suit looks like a football? Is there a woman wearing a suit that looks like a football? No, I do not, but I like the idea of that. Yeah. So the souls are going to make him pay. No peace in the dollhouse now is something a guy says.
Starting point is 00:39:27 Yeah. Yeah. A guy who's dressed very weird for the time period. It's clearly contemporary 1995 and he's dressed like... 1895. Time has passed him by. And there is a doll in the limousine with David Metzger. Right. Duke Mzger. Right.
Starting point is 00:39:45 That he throws- Duke. Duke Metscar. Please, show some respect. Please show some fucking respect. Which he throws out on the road. Then some, oh he'd been filming this pep talk that his campaign manager is giving him and he does like an enhance, enhance, there's a doll on the floor. The doll had tripped him. Yes and the doll is now missing from the painting it's just a white spot where the doll had been. I really like the
Starting point is 00:40:10 idea of that. I love it. Yeah. It also feels very are you afraid of the dark to me? Sure. Which I like a lot. Or a little twilight-like as well totally. And the the little little little little little little little little little little little little little the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the toy. the toy. the toy. the toy. toy. the toy. toy. toy toy toy toy toy the the the the toy the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the toy toy toy toy toy toy toy toy toy toy toy ta toy toy ta tool tool is to to to to toy toy toy toy the the the which is very cute actually. I love that Corbyn Burnsen never has a moment of doubt he's like oh no these dolls are trying to kill me. Oh yeah I have to kill these dolls now. He believes it wholeheartedly. It gets a shotgun and start shooting this doll. Yeah. Saying the end word all over the place. Oh my god. And then he looks back from the painting. Yeah. And then there's like the little sort of puppet putting himself back together and rushing at him. This is very the plot of dolls also. Yeah, yeah. Which is also an enjoyable movie.
Starting point is 00:40:52 You know, I loved it, yeah. But I was also thinking of you because these are, it's all stop motion with the dolls. It's great. I love it. Corbyn-Burtson does a great job of acting with nothing in a room with him. Yeah, he's like, he does like a test of strength with pushing doors with, um, what is presumably a doll. A bunch of dolls. It's very funny. More and more dolls keep coming off the painting.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Yeah, at one point it's just totally empty and there's swathes told them. And there's swathes the swathes, their, their, their, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, thwa, thwa, thwa, thwa, thwo, ths, ths, thwo, ths, ths, ths, ths, tho, tho, ths, tho, ths, tho, ths, thuat, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, thuuat, thuaths, thuaths, thuaths, thua, thua, thu. thu. thuooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo then the one doll points at him and they charge him. Yeah. So good. Then what do they do? Oh they eat him? They eat him. They eat him. They eat him. And then the one from the painting is in the chair in the room in her rocking chair? Yeah. Rusty Condu, small. Mrs. Cundiff. And she's pretty nonplussed by all of the they's they's they's the they's they's they's they's they's they's the they's they's they's they's they's their they's they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're just they're they're just they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're they they they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're their. I their. I th. I th. I th. I th. I the. I the. I the. the. the. the. the. Yeah. I the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And she's pretty nonplussed by all of it, really. These dolls eating this man. I wish she'd just been like, oh, fuck that white dude. Yeah, I think she was. I think that was the look on her face. Fuck that, that way, dude. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:52 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, the reprieve of getting to watch a the the to to to the to to to the to the to to the to the the to the the the to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the that that that that that that that that that that one. that one. that one. that one. that one. that's. that's. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. that's. Yeah. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the that's the that's that's the the the that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that. that you thought that was going to be lighthearted, it goes downhill again from there. The reprieve of getting to watch a flagrant racist be eaten by tiny dolls. Yeah. So the next one is, this was the one that I thought was very heavy-handed when I was younger. But also, like, I think it's heavy-handed for a reason. Yeah, yeah. Because I think what they're talking about is a very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. It. It. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's.. It's. It's................................ It's. It's yeah, because I think what they're talking about is a very intense thing. Right.
Starting point is 00:42:28 It's not, you can't, there's not a subtlety to it. Right, right, right. There's not a light handed, that's not a phrase. Way to do this. It's like you can't just be whelmed. It's like you can't can't be wellmed. I'm just feeling wellmed right now. I'm feeling really wellmed. I think we should make welmed happen. You want to claim welmed? Yeah, I would like to feel welmed. This is exactly what I expected. I'm so fucking even killed right now. I'm just welmed. No one in my life would ever describe me is even keeled or chill or chill or go with the flow, welm-. the the the the the w we we we we we we we we we we. the the the the the the the the the the the the their. their. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the they. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I the the the the the th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I th. I th. I th. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I th. Starting point is 00:43:10 Yeah for here for your whelmedness. You're whelmbing. Yes! Copyright, copyright. Copyright. So we meet a man named Crazy K. Crazy K. K. K. K. K. K. K. J. K. J. K. J. K. K. K. I today. I thrown. I thin. the. today. to k. the k. I thin. the. to. the white people. to. the. to. the. to. the. to. the. the. the to. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. they're so expensive to go to. At this point in time, I think this would have been around the time of the LA Kings, sure, which were the Los Angeles hockey team. It still are, aren't they? Oh, I don't know. Okay. And they had the same color as the LA Raiders, Oakland Raiders, that silver, black, and and so that the LA King's, the the the the the the their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, which were, which were, which were their, which were their, which were their, which were their, which were, which were, which were, which were, which were, which were, which were, which were, which were, which were, which were, which were, which were, which were, which were, which were, which were, their, which were, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their, their, their, their, their, their, the LA King stuff was popular in hip-hop culture to wear. Yeah, okay. So I don't know if all hockey jerseys the king. It's just that if you're not wearing pads, hockey jerseys look so silly on you.
Starting point is 00:44:11 Yeah, yeah, Robert Smith went through a period of wearing hockey jerseys. What? Really? Who's his team? He was like, you know, hit middle age and he was like, theyr And he was like, fucking, Kevin what's his face? Kevin Smith? Yeah, Kevin Smith was like, no one don't know that I'm chubby. I wear a seven X hockey jersey. I mean, Robert Smith always appreciated baggy clothing, so. But who was his team? That's what I need to know.
Starting point is 00:44:42 I think it was just like wherever he was, would get a hockey jersey. I remember wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs. I've impressed by how many hockey teams you've just named. Oh thanks. Do you have a third in you? The flyers because I already said that. The penguins. The Pigsburg hockey penguins. The Tampa Bay of I know this one go. Face fuckers. Yes. F5 for five. The peng. The peng. The peng. The peng. The peng. The peng. The peng. The peng. The peng. The p the p the p the p the p the p the p the p the p the p the p the p the p the p the Tampa Bay of... I know this one, go. Face fuckers. Yes! Five for five. I just thought about the formerly racist name Washington football team that are now just the commanders. Yeah. I wish they'd stuck with the Washington football team. I think that's a class act. It's hilarious. Crazy K is driving down the street and he sees an adversary, a rival gang member were led to believe. And he goes, and he's going to, let me see if I can get this right, he's going to smoke that man, I believe he says.
Starting point is 00:45:45 And he does, he gets out of the car and he shoots the fella. He kills him, kills him real dead. And then what happens? And then three of the guy's friends come out and we can't imagine who they might be. Right. One of them's wearing a flyer's jersey though. And they proceed to shoot Crazy K. Yeah. And as soon as they're done shooting him, 40 cop cars are there. Right. And they have to take off running. And Crazy K is arrested and then brought
Starting point is 00:46:11 back to health and then offered to get out of jail if he goes into a rehabilitation program. This is so like clockwork orange fucked. Oh, we forgot to mention, oh yeah, so he's he gets taken to a hospital that I think is the hospital for malignant. Oh, really? It looks like the hospital from malignant. Interesting. I just for a moment was like, which one's malignant?
Starting point is 00:46:34 Oh, no, it's that one. Yeah, it's that one. And Rosalin Cash, the woman who had the on-screen interracial kiss with why can't I think of his fucking name? What's he look like? Planet of the Apes. Charlton Heston. Charlton Heston. Yes. The Rosalind Cash kissed him on screen and it was a big to-do. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Ithat's a big to do? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can. It sucks. Have you met us?
Starting point is 00:47:07 Have you met us? Everything's got to be a big to do. Wish I was dead. Anyway, move on. People's so upset about the wordle right now. Just let it be. Just let people enjoy it, hula. People are upset about that, yes, and they're upset that people are posting their wordles. Oh, let it be. Who cares? It'll be gone in a week.
Starting point is 00:47:27 No one will be doing it in a week. You're fine. Just wait it out. Did you like my real big fish joke on our Twitter about it? I didn't see a real big fish joke. I'll check it out. Yeah, I tweets. Was it on our Twitter? No, on our shared account. Okay. It's at where where it be land. Anyway. So he is taken, put in a tiny little cell. A cage. It's a very X-filezian
Starting point is 00:47:57 cage. Oh yeah, yeah. Yeah. Real Eve sick situation. Yes. Next to a white supremacist. He, boy is this guy fucking hard to listen to. Who proceeds to white supremacist. He boys, this guy fucking hard to listen to. Who proceeds to tell Crazy Kay that he's one of the good ones Because he also kills black people. Yeah. And then we get a rundown of this guy's tattoos which are swastegas and Hitler's in the end word and like a very well rendered Hitler. Yeah, it looked like someone took a photo of Hitler like colored it in and slapped it on his th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. Who. th. Who. th. th. Who th. Who, th. Who, th. th. th. te. ttttttttttttttttttha. Who. to. to to to to to to to to to to to to to. Who. Who. Who. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the te. te. the te. te. the te. te. te. te. te. te. to to te. to to to to to to to It looked like someone took a photo of Hitler, like colored it in and slapped it on his chest. Do you think it was the nipple guy? I bet it was a nipple guy. I could do and Hitler.
Starting point is 00:48:31 It's what two things that I could do from memory. We're going to need to get that. I could do Hitler and nipples. I can put nipples on Hitler. I bet Hitler didn't have nipples. Would that surprise you to learn? No. Can we start that rumor? Did you know the Hitler didn't have nipples?
Starting point is 00:48:59 Just smooth. Yeah. I've never seen him shirtless. Speaking of shirtless, Crazy Kay is taken to the cell in just his underwear. He's wearing these little teeny tiny underpants. Oh yeah, that's what he's taken to be shot. Oh yeah, yeah. He's got the banana havoc on. My God. I was like, that guy's got a huge dick? He's a huge, I mean like, his genitals are first in form, they should get their own fucking billing in this movie. His dick is enormous.
Starting point is 00:49:30 At one point the camera's just between his legs pointed up and I was like, rusty. Yeah, the director of photography was like, this guy's got a huge dick. I need to make sure we showcase it. the racist guy tells he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he the racist guy tells him he likes him, and then they strap him down and they put like a viewfinder on him and electrodes and all this, the electrodes just over his nipples and it went on his dick too. It's like the clamp is on his dick down. That thing's out of control, put it down.
Starting point is 00:50:07 Tamp it. And they put hoses up his noses. Yeah. And the woman who's doing that is doing like that sleight of hand where you just slide your hand up the tube to make it look like it's going in. This is great. It's the blue viewfinder, Alan? Oh, uh, it's inter-splice scenes of lynchings and gang shootings.
Starting point is 00:50:34 Mm-hmm. Over. And over. And over. Yeah. Maybe think of years ago a friend of mine, my friend Mark, bought a book that was a collection of lynching photos. They did an exhibition of them at the Warhol Museum in probably like 2000.
Starting point is 00:50:53 Yeah. It was very powerful but very difficult to look at it. Yeah. I don't think I'd want to, I was happy to, not happy. I don't want to say enjoyed the exhibition, but I thought the exhibition was very good. But I don't think I'd want that book in my home. No, no, and he left it at my house for a little while, and I was like, can you take that away now?
Starting point is 00:51:11 Because I don't want to risk the chance of, I mean, I think it's important for people to know that thin. collection of postcards. Yeah, like public material. Because people would print postcards of these lynching photographs where people like white people are posed, thumbs up, smiling. Kids, children, baby. Children, yeah. So yeah that was that was a lot to look at. Yeah. But again, it's going for a point. Shouldn't look away, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. There's also a ball gag that's like, it's going for a point. Shouldn't look away, right? You shouldn't look away. There's also a ball gag that looks like the phantasm ball, that they're putting liquid into his mouth. Oh, I miss that somehow.
Starting point is 00:51:53 I mean, somehow. the hau. And then he's put into a sensory deprivation tank. Which is not actually a sensory tank. It's just a hole. It's just a hole. Wherein he meets all of the people that he killed, including a little girl. A little nine-year-old girl who says,
Starting point is 00:52:16 he's telling everyone that they deserved it, because it's not his fault. Yeah, she says I was playing in my room and a bullet came through the wall. And he says, the the name. Yeah. I was like, fuck. Yeah, fuck you crazy K. Yeah. And also, ugh. So, yeah. And then we go back to... Crazy K has been dying this whole time on the street. Yeah. This is after Rosalind Cash like lays it out for him, like he could change if he wanted to and he says, fuck you, I'm not going to change. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:57 And she's like, okay. And he goes back to die on the street, yes. And he's dead and we, because we've seen him in his coffin up and that's what freaks these guys out. And then I'm like, can we just have the shit? And they say, yeah, yeah, come into this room where there's three. They still believe it. They still believe him. Where there's three caskets. Yeah, and they each go to a separate casket and they'll the lid. What do you think's th th think th th thinks th is th is thi th is thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi their thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi they's they're they're their thi thi they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they's they're they's they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're tho. the. tho. tho. the. thooooooo. theeea thooooooo. the. they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're th each go to a separate casket, and they lift the lid. What do you think's in there? The shit. The shit. Yeah, drugs. It's not just their bodies.
Starting point is 00:53:28 This ain't no funeral home. It ain't the terror dome neither. Welcome to hell, mother fuckers. Don't forget that tongue slips out between his teeth and waggles at the screen. That tongue is kind of bad. It's great. And he is, as Katie said earlier, just chewing the scenery in the most delightful way. And it's not a surprise to you because he's been doing it the whole time. And then all of a sudden he just like morphs into a full on devil.
Starting point is 00:53:58 Full-blown devil. Full body devil. My last note says, thi And like they pull guns on him and his eyes turn red and heat the guns up. Yes, they like melt in their hands. It's amazing. I have a note that says he's a monster and it's hell and it's hell and it's hilarious. It is hilarious. Because it's him sitting there as a devil man and there's flames all around him and then it like kind of pans out a devil man and there's flames all around him and then it like kind of pans out a little bit and there's just people waving their arms yeah like they're like maybe a I don't know well they're waving
Starting point is 00:54:34 him like they just don't care I don't know they're all holding puppies that have been adopted oh I will remember you. Oh God. Well, we've sung some good melodies this week. I'm proud of us. Katie. You want to rate this movie? Oh, you want to rate the shit? Do you, what don't you rate the shit?
Starting point is 00:54:58 I fucking love this movie. I think it's fantastic. It is a little bit of a hard watch. But I think it is in that Twilight Zone, Morality, Tale, like lineage. And I think like it's great to have a black perspective on that. And I think that's really exciting and fun. And also, if we haven't mentioned, I think we did, we did.
Starting point is 00:55:22 Soundtrack's fucking amazing to this. It really is. You want some Wu Tang? They're gonna give you some Wu Tang. There's just some Scarface, there's really great shit on there. No Cameron, unfortunately. Yeah, would not have fit. Would have been very weird to suddenly have a Cameron song? Let's slide. All right. There is a domino the tri, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there is, there is, there is, there is, there is, there, there is, there is, there is, there is, there, there, there is, there is, there is, there is, there is, there is, there is, there is, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there is, there is. There is a tho, there is a there is a tho, there is a there is a there is a there is a there is a Oh my goodness! I just blushed. I was like there's no way Domino transcended any more
Starting point is 00:55:53 than like he like 94, 95 I think he was done after that he just was wiped. I had a domino Casingle. Nice. That just placed him in an era. Yeah I'm gonna give this movie, I'm gonna give it a nine. All right. I am. I am. I am. I am. I. I. I. I just. I just. I just. I just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just. I just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just blush. I just blush. I just blush. I just blushed. I just blushed. I just blushed. I just. I just. I just. I just. I just. I just. I just. I just. I just. I just. I just. I'm just. I's just place him in an era. Yeah, I'm going to give this movie, I'm going to give it a nine. All right. I am, this is totally not what I expected. Okay. I don't know why you don't, people don't talk about it more. Well, it was really, like I said before, it was like, for the past few years, I've wanted to do it on here here but it just hasn't been available streaming anywhere. It just feels like it should get more due. Yeah for sure. It seems very, you know, it's of the anthology thing is not particularly innovative. The stories themselves, like you said, there's a lot of funny horror troops and they're not particularly complex or interesting, but
Starting point is 00:56:41 the messaging is very hard to watch and very, it seems very novel for the time. Yeah. And I feel like, and me, this might just be my missing things in culture, but between this and get out, do we really get another, like, black perspective on horror? And mainstream, because this movie was big, big, big money. Yeah, I mean, there's like, like Beloved which Oprah did. I don't know that. It's based on a Tony Morrison book. Oh yeah I know the book. Yeah, yeah they did a movie for it. I think it was kind of a flop because it it's if you've read the book it's a very hard read and the movie was also a very hard watch because of the subject matter. Starting point is 00:57:28 oh, the Jordan Peel movies. For sure? Yeah. That's a bummer. Yeah. And I'm sorry that this movie didn't kickstart more. Yeah, I mean, I think it's having a bit of a research. It's really good and and tales from the hood definitely get some love in that and they talk about Candyman and a lot of other stuff but and people under the stairs and that stuff but like yeah I think there is a push and a resurgence of that stuff but anyway you're rating for this. I just think it's so much scarier when the monsters are real, you know. Yeah. It's like deep in your pit of the pit of the pit of the pit of the pit of the pit of the pit of the pit of the pit of the pit of the pit of the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th of th of the th of th of th of th of th of thi their thi. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thia thia. thooooooooooo. their the monsters are real, you know? Yeah. It's like deep in your pit scary, deep in the pit of your stomach scary. Yeah, I don't want to say I enjoyed it because I didn't, but I enjoyed it, I guess. What am I trying to say? Yeah, you felt it was an important thing to see. Yeah. I'm gonna give it Nate. Oh, I love it. I liked it. Would you watch it again?
Starting point is 00:58:25 Yes, but knowing, like bracing myself for it, and not watching it on like a day that I'd spent with my child in the emergency room for smashing her head. Oh no. She's fine. She's fine. She's totally fine. She's totally fine. Everything's fine. But then don't go home and try to watch the Ails from the Hood. Because it is not like a Tales from the Crypt kind of thing.
Starting point is 00:58:46 And don't watch it with your four-year-old. That was a mistake, Katie. You know what? I figured she had had a head injury. She wasn't to remember. Oh God. Oh God. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:58:56 the same. delightful. We weren't, but we are now. This is a... Well Lucy, what can we talk about? Lucy? She's delightful. She's delightful. One of my favorite things is getting videos from you over doing stuff. This is a message from Patron. Hello, Petron. Who says, hi. Hey. Feel free to call me Jacob. I will call you. Edward. What's up Jacob? th, Jacob. I'll honor your wishes. Jacob says, this is short and sweet. Really appreciate your both. You're a bright spot in my week. Oh, you're a bright spot in my week this week. I'm struggling not to say Edward.
Starting point is 00:59:37 Jacob. Come on, Jakeward. Headcub. Hedkub. That sucks. Jacob, thank you for so much for being a patron. Jacob thank you for being a patron. Thanks for listening. Your patronage. Your patronage. I have another message from another patronage. And this one involves a little bit of a game. Oh my goodness. Now they're writing the games. Please use Cath for my name. Hello Cath. I'm also a cat but I don't say it that way. Please use Cath for my name, Hello, Cat. Hello, Cath. I'm also a
Starting point is 01:00:05 Cath, but I don't say it that way. I say it Katie. I can't imagine you as a Cat. Kathy, Catherine. Kathy? I always wish I'd gone by cat. Oh, Cat is good. I know, wouldn't I have been a great cat? Yeah, I'm wasted on a Katie. Well, I don't know about that. You're my favorite Katie. Well, I don't know about that. You're my favorite Katie. What's up, Kaff? Kaff says, I would love you to make up an outrageous fact about me. I figured we could each do one.
Starting point is 01:00:36 Give me an outrageous fact about Kaff. Do you have time to think about this? I haven't, though. The beauty of having my brain. You had time but didn't do it. I did not do the assignment. Katz's great grandfather invented Cheerios. And Kath has a backpiece tattoo that is just Cheerios.
Starting point is 01:01:03 Just one or a bunch? Well, it's one big one with a bunch of little ones like sort of crawling out of it, like, um, like a spider giving, giving birth. I don't know. Cath, it's gross and I love you. That's a pretty outrageous fact. I wish I'd, I wish I'd had a little time to think on this, but I appreciate it. No, I figured spur of the moment. Your work is... Minioker. You know there's a lot of it. It's like going to go into the buffet. You're rich. You're rich. You're rich. You're rich. You're rich. You're rich. You're rich. You're rich. Oh no. We didn't give Katz's last name, so. That's true.
Starting point is 01:01:48 Also, it's kind of unfair the Cat is self-made after inheriting the Cheerios money too, you know? Well, that's what set Cath up. That Cheerio's base to build upon the time to get that Coon. Exactly. Cath, happy for you. Thank you. Cat. Increase your patron because you're apparently a multibillionaire. One billion dollars a month. Thank you so much. And if you would like us to make up facts about you, you can be a patron too. Just go to Patreon.
