One of your favorite movies?
Yes, one of your favorite movies.
One of our favorite movies.
Yeah, we agree.
You guys can turn this off no.
No, because we liked it.
It's the right notes for me. So beautifully Canadian. It's Canadian. And it's got baby Stephen Dorf. Little baby Stephen Dorf. Yeah. So got
Stephen Dorf's face on a little baby kid's head. Yeah. With those little baby bangs.
They're so cute. He does have a the tea for a Rightose hair. I really do. He plays a character named Glenn which I also really like. Yeah. He didn't have to yell. G. G glp. G glp. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the th. th. th. th. Oh yeah. Yeah. You didn't have to yell at that Glenn. No, I have a cat named Glenn and he's a bastard.
Baby Stephen Dwarf Glenn is pretty cool guy.
Oh, and not as cool as Terry.
I think we need to talk about that.
I know some, I know about future Terry.
Where's Terry ended up in the world.
Where?
He's like a noise musician now that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that goes by the name 1220. 1220? Is that his like Christian name?
That's his name.
Wow.
Yeah, I think that's his.
What is that?
What is the significance of 1220?
His real name is Louis Tripp and L?
That's a good name?
Yeah, oh, no doubt.
That's a fine name.
L is the 1220. I thought it was like a time like that's when he breaks for lunch like he's apparently really into a cult stuff and like using that in his art he does
already is a sci-fi writer he does noise music do you think that this
movie put him on that path well he acted for years after this oh did he what
was he in just like Canadian television shows and stuff he's real sorry he's real sorry yeah he's done a bunch of that stuff but I just like he th th. th. th. th. th. th. that that th. that that that th. that that that that th. th. that th. that's like th. that's like th. th. that's th. that's th. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's like that's like that's like that's that's that's that's that's that's like th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. the the thi. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. the. the. the. thi. So sorry. Yeah, he's done a bunch of that stuff.
But I just like, 1220, that is an interesting nom to plume. And it's not, I have to be on this.
Not pretty good. Not, not, not pretty good.
Also, Terry, I know you love Terry. I wanted to be Terry when I was a kid. I thought, I actually I was Terry killer. Can we, like, can we just ease our feet into that water?
Terry is an abandoned child who's trying to cope with life.
His mother died.
She'd not her fault.
No, no, but his father has since abandoned him to the world.
He, his father definitely went on a bender that weekend, right? Like, there's just like a empty p p p p empty, the empty, the empty, the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi is a thi is a thi is a thi is an thi is thi is a the is the is the is an thi is thi is thi is thi is thi is thi is thi is thi is thi is thi is thi is thi is th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi is a thi is a thi, thi, thi, thi is a thi is a t. t. te is a te is a te. te. teeeeeea. tea. teea. teea. teea. teea. tea. tea. te. an empty pizza box garbage everywhere and then a note that says gone on business, be back later, like that's totally a Coke
Bender. Yeah. But he also is like really into watching those bugs die in a jar
and he kind of hits the dog at one point. Yeah, but you know I blame society. I don't blame Terry as much. No, no, no, no, I'm not blaming Terry either, but I think we do need to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their their. their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their their their their tie. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. think we do need to address that he's a
burgeoning serial killer. I think this film takes Terry back out of that. By
the end of the movie we have regained Terry into the world of the non-serial
killer. Okay. I think that love Triumped in the end of this film.
Such a beautiful movie. I love this movie so much. I think you accidentally watch Titanic. No way, love Triumph!
No, it totally does.
Especially because Glenn is like sort of in love with his sister.
There will be spoilers in this if you haven't.
And they totally make out.
Oh, God, gross.
No.
That's weird. Why would you say that?
So basically this movie opens my notes, Stephen Dorf slash Glenn.
Yeah, there you go.
It opens on a, like, basically a dream sequence for him where he's walking around his empty house
and there's like a half-eaten meal on the table and there's this like crazy music playing on the...
Do you know what that is? I find the internet somewhere. Is it Flight of Icarus by Iron Maiden? It might be, I don't know. Because there's a lot of Iron Maiden references in this movie.
Oh, really?
Well, there's Iron Maiden posters all over Terry's room,
along with some Duran posters, which I was like, Terry?
Terry?
You are a man of my own tasks.
I can't tasks.
I can't tas. and all that stuff and so Glenn's going through his house I've just jumped in here I'm so excited. Another shaking movie for Alan and he's waving his hands I'm just
wildly. Yeah we follow Glenn going through his house which no one's in the
house and everything is just sort of off kilter and a little creepy and like
lamps are swaying and he finally makes it outside to the tree
house after walks the kitchen which has like an abandoned meal. Yeah. He goes out to the tree house.
He climbs in the tree house, which is creeping out some way,
and then it gets struck by lightning.
Yeah.
And he starts to fall to the ground and then wakes up in his bed.
Yes.
To the sounds of a chain' supposed to pay attention what they're saying, but I was listening and at one point the guy goes,
no, the other tree!
They're saying, what?
Not the one on the ground?
No, that one.
But when this tree struck by lightning again rips out And that's where it all happens. Literally all
hell breaks loose. Yeah. So Glenn lives with his mom and his dad and his sister
Al. Yeah, a nice nuclear family. Yes. Do you remember in the warlock episode when I kept
insisting that Richard E. Grant was Brian from wings? Okay, the dad in this movie is actually Brian from Wings.
Not actually, actually.
No, but actually, he is.
He is totally Brian from Wings.
It's been a long time since I've seen it as Brian from Wings.
He's like the twin of Wings.
What's that disorder that people have wherethat for white men where you just see that as Brian from Wings.
Everyone I look at, I'm like married to Brian from Wings.
I don't even know.
Brian from Wings delivers the mail in my office.
It's very confusing to me.
It seems to be a very sweet family.
His dad is so Canadian.
There's a bottle of HP sauce right.
It's like a today. Somewhere between a bottle a bottle a bottle a bottle a bottle the bottle the bottle the bottle of a bottle of a bottle of a bottle of a bottle of a bottle of a bottle of a bottle of a bottle of a bottle of a bottle. I th. I th. I th. I th. I' th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I. th. I. I. I. th. I. th. I. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. to. the. thea. the. the. thiii. the. the. thi. thi. th. th. thir table. I was so stoked about it. What is HP sauce? It's like somewhere between ketchup and A1. It's delicious. I have a bottle downstairs if everyone's taste. Yeah, it's really,
it's a British thing. It's really tasty. When Terry and Glenn are looking at the hole, Terry's like,
try and try to dig it up basically and Glenn's like, no way, my'm gonna need you to fill in that hole after dinner. Okay, love ya. And I was like, he did not have a seizure at all.
He was pretty cool about it.
I mean, I guess that's how Brian from Wings is.
So that's that.
So in this conversation between Brian from Wings and baby Stephen Dorf, we learned that Terry's mother has died the previous year.
And he's, he's kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind kind he he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, to to to to to to he. he. he. he. he. he. he. that he he he, he, he. He, he. He, he. He, he. He, he. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He's, he's, he's. He's. He's. He's. He's. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that, he's. that, that, he's, that, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's. that. that. th has died the previous year. And he's kind of messed up about it, according to Brian from Wings. He actually says, when he gets destructive,
you need to remember that he's acting out or whatever.
Yeah, basically acknowledging that he, this loss has filled him with anger, as it would,
any 12-year-old boy.
And we also find out that Terry has told Glenn that when they were building Glenn's house,
a workman was killed?
And the other workman didn't want to tell the police
so they just put the body in the wall?
Such good kid.
Well, like, who...
Why would they not want to tell the police? their tell? You're th.... th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. th. to. to. th. th. th. the. to. the. their. their. their. to. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. the their. the the their. the the the te. toe. toe. te. toe. toe. toe. te. toe. te. toe. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the te. tell people that my dad, who was an electrician, did the electrical work at the Amityville Horror House when I was a kid?
Did you really tell people that?
Holy shit.
Yeah, yeah, I thought it would be totally cool.
Where is the Emenevill Warhouse?
Where?
Where in Delaware?
It's in, uh, yeah, no, because little kids make up bullshit all the time.
I'm sure you had a kid in your school who found dinosaur bones in his backyard,
or went to Ninja School, or his dad was a wrestler.
I wasn't that kid.
But it wasn't fucking far off from it.
Yeah, that's cool.
Which is another reason I identified so much with Terry.
I like the bullshit too.
Everything kind of kicks off with Glenn's parents going on vacation for the weekend and
leaving Al in charge.
Once again, parents in the 80s went on vacation without their kids all the fucking time.
Was it just like a Reagan era thing?
Like, it was a trickling-key to the, uh, the untieth degree.
Yeah, so immediately I'll have a party, and it looks like a great party. Yeah, she's having a
a rager. I really want to be at that party. Who got them that beer? That's a good
question. They're all like 15 years old. Yeah. Although one of a friends can because they have a convertible because the teenage girls in the the the the the the the the the the the th is th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. to the. the the the the the the th Lee sisters? The Lee sisters are fantastic.
My dad used to tell a joke about the Lee sisters, Ug and Home. Yeah, so I think that's why they're...
Is that before after he did the electric work on the Imanieville Horr. No, that one's a real one.
Oh, good, good. I didn't know if you were making that up to impress me. No, that was not one of my lies. At this party, there's the one girl who's kind of off kilter looking. Oh, who invited Flannel girl? Who invited her? She is weird.
She's like, I believe it. I believe everything. Which has the, that leads to the great scene of,
of Terry and Glenn in the kitchen, like eavesdropping and eating pizza. I mean, I should, full disclosure, I have an older sister. And like, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I'm, I'm, I'm, th. th. th. th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, who, th. Who, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thed, thed, thed, thed, thed, that, thed, thed, thed, thr. thin, th. th. th. thed, thed, thed, thed, th, I have an older sister. And like, when I was a little kid, I was like, man, I wish my sister would have parties at the house
so I could eat pizza.
So Glenn and Terry, and Glenn turns to Terry and goes,
do you believe in all that,
and hocus stuff or something like that?
And Terry just like nods and he goes, so do why? It was so good. So they end up levitating, Glenn? Yeah, light is a feather, stiff as a board.
Yeah, which is super weird.
And he levitates into the air, breaks a light,
falls to the ground, crying.
Breaks two lights.
Crying.
It's two fixtures out.
That was so sad for the little guy.
Yeah.
Also, baby Stephen Dorf. he's required to cry in this movie, they have to cut away from him. Did you notice that? He's crunched up his face and then they cut away and you're, he, he, he, he, he's
not his finest, not as fine as acting.
I don't know, it may be as fine as acting.
I have not seen any of his other acting.
Well, yeah.
Yeah, I mean, I've't know about that. Oh, okay. He's the bad guy in Blade, right?
One of the top things on his IMDB pages
just says untitled Stephen Dorf Project, so.
So this totally bugs Glenn out
and he runs up to his room.
And in a really sweet scene, Al, Alexandra, his sister and Terry come up to tell., t, t, the..... the. tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, is tha, is tha, is is tha, is is tha, is tha, is just says, is just says, is just says, is just says, is t, is tie, is tie, is t, is is is t, is t, is is t, is t, is t, is tie, is tie, is tie, is tha, is tha, is tha, is toda, ttoday, is ttttttttttttttttttoday, tttttttttttttttttttoday, tttttoday, ttoday, today, today, today, today, tells a story of having been pantsed in front of the entire school and as, you know, it made me sad. It's a bummer man. I, you know, a couple girls had that happen in junior high.
It's a, it's fucking sucks. And Terry tells about vomiting on a kid in his class.
Yeah. And at this point it's been kind of established that Al is kind of growing up and growing up her thi thrown out of her relationship relationship, like relationship, like relationship, like relationship, like relationship, like relationship, like relationship, like a relationship, like the relationship, like the relationship, like their relationship, like their relationship, like relationship, like their relationship, like relationship, like their relationship, like thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, and a thi, and a thi, and a thi, and a thi, and a thi, and a thi, and a thi, and a thi, and a thi, and a thi, and a their, and a their, and a their, and a their, and a their, and a their, and a thi, and, and, and, and, their, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, like the childish things that she felt they were doing, yeah, whatever. No, it's really sweet. Like, when I was growing up, my sister and I grew apart at some point and like fought all
the time and it was, I really identify with this movie.
And this is our comedy podcast about family feelings.
This movie just brings up a lot of feelings.
Yeah, it seems like it.
I was feeling a lot of love for the neon clothes that the Lee sisters were wearing. What about all the crimping that was going on with their goddamn hair? Oh, it's so good. They're also all
wearing like really bright colored jeans which I was really like, can I do that?
Am I'm too old? No way, you can do it. No, I'm in my 30s in 2015. It's too late. I can still remember the smell of those crimping things. Oh Oh. Oh. Oh. I I I I I I I I I I I I I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi thi that all that all that all that all that all that all that all that all that all that all they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're thi. thi. thi. that. that. that. thateeat. that. thateat. that. thooooo. they're also thate. metal on hair smell and just so gnarly.
So good.
No, we forgot to mention the geode that they dug out of the hole when they were fucking
around the hole.
Kind of crush.
Yeah, kind of.
Well, we were busy talking about hair and feelings.
The things that we generally cover on this podcast, hair and feelings. It's kind of true. When the the the they they the g they they the g. they they they the g. they the g. they they they their they they're they're th, th, th, th, th, th. the, the, the, theateateatheed, the. they're theateatheed, the, thoed, thoed, thoed, they they they they they they they they they they they they they they'd they'd they'd they'd they'd they'd they'd they'd they'd they'd they'd they'd they'd they'd they'd, they'd th, th, th. So, th. So, th. th. the. We the. We'd the. We'd theared. We'd to to to to to toge. We'd toge. toge. We'd toge. to to toge. to to thoge. thoge. thoed. th around with that hole, they found a geode in there.
They found a stone of some sort.
They're spending a lot of time in Glenn's bedroom with a hammer
and a chisel or a screwdriver trying to crack it open.
And finally, Glenn does crack it open with just one good whack of the hammer.
Yeah.
And awesome purple smoke comes out of it.
Yeah, so it's so it's so so much purple in
this movie it's so very purple. So that night of the party they go to bed
and Terry wakes up in the middle of the night and starts to go downstairs I guess
for some reason. He's going to go pee and then the front door opens and smoke
comes boring in and then a woman is dressed in white. Again, super sad. She's saying like, I love you, I need you. And he says mom? Oh come on
not your mom, Terry. Fucking heartbreaking. Yeah, totally his mom. He goes down and hugs her.
And then when he sort of snaps out of it we realize he has hugged a sheep dog to death.
Yeah he's hugging Angus who is the elderly dog that's in the family.
Yeah, he hugged it to death.
Yeah, I don't know, or if the demons put Angus already, I'd like to think that Angus was already dead when the deem's put him in his arms.
That's, that's a key theory. I'm the king of wishful thinking. I'll get over you. No false that out tonight.
No, yeah, I think you hugged him to death.
It's so sad.
It's just very sad.
Because once he realizes what's going on, he drops Angus and then drops to his knees
like, you know, and starts petting the dead dog. And then the other kids thugg, th's thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thi, I's, I's, I tho, I tho, I thinks, I thinks, I that, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I I I tho, I I I I th. I th. I I I I th. I I I th. I I th. I I th. I th. I th. It, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thin, I thoooooooooooooooooooooooo every one of my heartstrings right now. So then Al's friends come over and they're completely unsympathetic.
And there's a guy there that, this hunky guy,
I'm doing hunky in finger quotes,
that she's real into who's pretty into her,
and he's wearing like to the dead dog to the animal shelter and they're going to go to the mall?
Owl, no. So then there's just a scene of Eric cruising around with the dead dog
and his transam which I found to be very upsetting.
I do want to mention the next morning when Glenn and tear they're both kind of upset and Glenn says to Terry, do you want to come over later and mess around?
I was just like such a weird thing to say.
I feel like that even the kids were uncomfortable acting that scene.
And then as Terry's walking away I'm just staring at his killer dwarfs patch going
and nobody'd like to kill dwarfs enough to have a bat patch up.
No, huge one too. Yeah, I might even I I I I I. I I I I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I that. I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even. I might even I might even. I might even I might even I might even I might even I might even. I might even. I might even. I might even. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might. I might even. I might even. I might even. I might even th. I might even even th. I might even pop in a killer door song right here. Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. So Terry goes home to his house,
he finds him in the toubender,
allegedly,
according to us.
Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous.
So Terry goes home to his house,
that his dad is on a Coke fender,
allegedly, according to us.
And he starts listening to some metal album by a band called,
Sacrifice. Sacrifice?
Sacrifice.
Not Sacrifice?
No, Sacrifics.
Yeah.
Not sacrable?
No, Sacrifics.
Cool.
I want the sacrifice record.
And I listening to,
again, why I identified so hard with Terry.
Plus I was 13 when this movie came out, so.
And this album seems to have come with a book.
Yeah.
That had art in it.
Yeah.
It was, you know, the art was, it was better than like the second edition
player's handbook. You know what I mean? Like, some effort was put into this art. Well, at least one of the panels was taken from an illustration of an HP Lovecraft story.
Oh, okay.
From the color from outer space.
Yeah, I'm gonna push my, that was my glasses going up.
And during this scene where Terry is listening to the album, there's basically a monologue
about unleashing demons from a portal to hell.
Yeah. Monologue about unleashing demons from a portal to hell. Yeah, and Terry realizes that they have unleashed demons from the gate
Right, which is the hole in Glenn's backyard and you can hear
Backward's masking going on underneath the guy talking you can hear
You know, you know, yep, you'll do what? Which in the 80s was the shit like that that was that everybody was the tear that if you?
that, like that was that everybody everybody everybody everybody everybody everybody everybody remember a queen getting sued because someone said that if you play another one bites
the desk backwards, it's about Satanism.
And Freddie Mercury going, yeah, if you play it forwards, it's about a drive-by.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, 100% speaking of, speaking of a sweet gay man.
A lot of homophobia in the 80s. Yeah. And one point when Eric Erick, Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric Eric. that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. th. th. th. th. Oh, a lot of homophobia in the 80s. Yeah.
At one point when Eric, who is Al's like little boyfriend,
is kind of being a dick about the dead dog,
Glenn gets up and walks out of the room and then just turns over his shoulder and goes,
fagg!
Which is like...
Such a bummer.
And then later one of the least, there's this... What does that mean? Later in the movie, there's this great exchange of insults.
Oh, right, they're like, yeah, going back and forward.
Yeah.
Where it starts off with the probably facking offline,
followed by Glenn saying,
suck my nose until my head caves in.
Is that what he said? I could not understand him. Followed by. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. T. They. They. They. They. they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. they're. they're. they're like. they're like. they're like. they're like. they're like. they're like. they're like, the. they're like, they're like, thea. they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they grow up, him yelling drop dead, her yelling up yours and him finishing off, the kudata of piss off.
So good.
And I was like, God damn, these kids are rough.
Yeah, yeah, it's really, really harsh.
But at this point, we realized that all, literally all hell is breaking loops from
the gate. Right, because they read it out loud.
Yeah, the acu, coutu, da da da da da da, bap, blah, blah, blah, come on, fucking guy,
I said no.
Geez.
God damn it, nothing happened.
Yeah, are we looking at the dogs, sad dog times. I'd wait for throw a dead dog at home to be very upset.
So then some other scary stuff happens,
like Glenn's parents appear at the front door,
but it's not Glenn's parents and his dad's like,
what does he say?
Oh wow.
You've been just, you've been bad?
Something like that.
Yeah, and then starts like trying to choke out Glenn. And Glenn rips his face off. His face fucking dumps pudding all over Glenn. Yeah, it's super gross. And then there's like a genuinely frightening
scene where they're the power is out in their house and they're going down
into the basement. We've seen this like family portrait of them before on
the stairs and then he hits it with a flashlight and you can see that everyone is dead except for Glenn like bloody. Yeah. unn't. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the power. the power. the power. the power. the power. the power. the power. the power. the power. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah... Yeah.......................................................................................... the.. the. the. the the the the the the the and look at their faces in dead smiling. Is he? Oh, that Brian from wings.
He's unstoppable.
So they go look at the hole, I guess, at this point.
Is this when Terry falls in?
Or slides in.
He's, there's a cool state of him sliding into the hole.
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
Do we mention the little creeps yet?
I don't have the kids the little creeped the little, the littlethey're cruising around the house. But we have, I don't know if the kids have encountered them yet,
but we've seen them like kind of ripping around. I love them. I love them. I love them. Are you ready for your head
to explode? Probably? That's not stop motion. Yes it is. That's dudes in suits. That's not. It is absolutely not. I'll bet you $100. I will bet you $200.
All right, well, let's look it up.
It's totally dudes and suits.
They built giant sets, like a giant, giant leg of Terry.
This is saying demon creature stop motion scenes.
Yeah, that's for the big creature at the end.
That's stop motion.
The little dudes and suits. Fuck off. I watched the special features on a DVD years ago, they're dudes and suits.
They built giant sets for them to rip around on.
Yeah, I know.
It blew my fucking head up when I found out about it.
If you re-watch it, there's a bunch of green screen stuff with the dudes and suits
like running around people's legs. I'm not exchanging any money because I the the they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they their they they they they they they they they're their they're they're they're they're they're they're their their their their they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they they're they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they their their their their their their thian. I the thi. I thi. try try try try together. together. try together. together. they're the they're thean. they're they're they're they're they so they're these little, like, in the scale of the movie, probably about
a foot tall, each just little like weird, pinkish demon guys who are walking all hunched
over like, gong, like, gong, gong.
They're really great.
Yeah, they kind of move like G-a-lum a little bit from a...
Yeah, they're always got their hands up.
Yeah, speaking of T-Rex arm. Yeah, yeah. Speaking of T-Rex arms, the big guy at the end has the most useless arms, and I would
like to discuss them later.
Um.
Well, he has two sets of arms, so one can be used.
He has like four sets of arms.
I couldn't figure it out.
Because the little ones, they wouldn't even feed him.
Like, they would not even to they they they they reach Fouls for a really long time. And when
he hits the bottom the little dudes grab his legs. And like bite him. Yeah.
Like one kind of comes up and like staring at him and then one just runs up and
bite his leg. They're almost cute. There's something almost cute about them.
I think it's because they're small. So they pull Terry back out with a rope and a board while Glenn is reading Bible passages and Terry yells,
Stop it, you're making them angry!
When they bring Terry back up, he grabs the bobbling and he's like,
what should I read?
And they're like, read anything.
So he starts reading the Bible and then he goes, ah shit and just throw it in the hole.
So they think they've beaten them. And they put like a piece of wood back over the hole and they go, oh, we didn't mention
that the reason these demons were able to come to life is because they need to sacrifice
because Eric threw the goddamn dead dog in the hole.
So that happened.
They go back inside and find the Lee sisters hiding in a closet covered in like wreaths of garlic? Why does Glenn's mom have all that garlic? What is she making?
Pasta sauce? A lot of pasta sauce. So they think they've defeated it and
they're cool. Then the workman appears. Yeah and steals fucking Terry.
He like busts out of the wall and Glenn goes it's the workman and Terry goes, I just made that up. Yeah adding this level the whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever. the whatever. the whatever. the whatever. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. ttas. tas. tas. tell. the. tas. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the wall and Glenn goes, it's the workman and Terry goes, I just made that up. Yeah, adding this level of the whatever this is is sort of in their psyche and drawing like on their fear.
I mean obviously with the trip bringing their parents into it and all that stuff, yeah. And there's a scene
where Al is like looking in the mirror brushing her hair or something and the workman appears behind her, she's not scared. She's not afraid of anything in this movie.
She is an unrealistically brave.
She's a 15-year-old girl.
You know what I mean?
She's just opening doors and like fucking going for it?
Like, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.
Well, she's got to protect her little brother.
Yeah, she should call the police.
Well, they try to call to call. You've been bird and then it catches on fire. Yeah, yeah, it's Brian from Wings' voice on the other line. His demon voice. So the workman takes
Harry, he just pulls him into the wall, and then the wall that closes around him. I do want to mention,
because this shows up later, there was the scene where the into maggots and the maggots scurry away. It's very gross. Then later the workman shows back up and he falls on the ground and turns into the
little demon guys.
It's so good.
Yeah.
It's so good.
Yeah, he's gotten Terry and taking ta.
ta'in to the wall.
the workman shows up.
Yeah, the workman shows up. tells Stephen Dorf to run down and get dad shotgun, which we've seen earlier because Terry just picks it up and starts like holding it up to his face.
That was another reason I felt Terry was a burgeoning serial killer was the way he was handling
that gun. I didn't like it. He was really excited about it. He was really, he's like,
he's like, hey man, he's like, hey man, he's like, hey man, it is cruel. It's not a trying to kill those bugs in a jar. Glenn's like, hey man, that's cruel. And I was like, you're right, it is cruel.
to try to get Dad's shotgun.
And when he opens the shotgun case, Terry's inside the shotgun case.
I forgot how scary that.
I forgot that that was a scare in this movie.
And it got me. Oh, did it? And then Terry just starts to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to to to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get the to get the to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get. the the the the the the the the the the the the the they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. the the they. the the the the the the the that's. the that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. the. the. the. the. the. the little dude's gnawed on his leg. Dementary is really pretty scary.
Especially because how's he fitting the little gunguise?
I don't know.
I don't know.
Al runs downstairs to help Glenn,
because now she, the door's been ripped apart by the little creeps,
so she goes downstairs to get the gun with Glenn
and sees that he's being gnawed on by Demon Terry and stabs him in the eye with a Barbie doll leg. Oh yeah. Pretty brutal. Pretty brutal. And he's real sad after it happens.
And then it like swings around to show
one of the little demon guys on the landing,
sort of the balcony at the top of the stairs.
And then it zooms in on him real fast.
And it's scary.
And then they all start jumping in the player's handboat, is rising from the base and under the house?
I'm not real sure.
So Al gets snatched by the workman when he reappears out of the closet.
Oh, that's right.
He takes, and so it's just Stephen Dorf by himself now.
Stephen Dorf doesn't seem adequately sad, I feel about Terry and his sister. Yeah, he's had a lot. He's really had a lot dropped on his shoulder.
So I don't think he's processing.
Yeah, I guess.
I think he's just sort of running on, well,
backup battery life right now.
He starts running across the floor,
which is now disintegrating,
to open up and show the pit that's in the basement.
The geometry of the 1980s.
Like everything is just shoddy and falling apart.
Like the stairs are just made of like cardboard.
Yeah.
And seemingly the biggest room in the house is the foyer.
And seemingly, yeah.
the biggest room, the floor drops out and you see this big huge pit which at the bottom
of it has like the floor drops out and you see this big huge pit,
which at the bottom of it has like lightning crackling.
It's a pretty cool effect.
It looks pretty neat.
And Glenn makes it up the steps.
And he has to go find out the thunderbolt.
Oh right, a rocket.
Yeah.
Well, he's grabbed the launch pad because matches aren't working. And earlier we find out that the only way to destroy this is with love.
What?
Did we find that at?
Yeah, yeah.
It's when they're listening to the record backwards.
What does it say?
It says that the only way to destroy this is love.
Yeah, it's really beautiful.
It's a beautiful message. Oh, boy. that's. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that's. that's. that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that. that. that. that. that, did, did, did, did, did, did, did, did, did, did. that, did. that, did. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the th. the thi. th. th. thi. th. thi. th. th. th. th. right now? No, I don't. I want to talk about fucking rage and hatred.
Well, you're more in the Terry camp.
Yeah, well, I was also born to be a serial killer, I guess.
So Glidden goes upstairs, he gets the launch pad.
He's getting the rocket already.
When this huge, unquestionably adorable demon pops out out of the ground.
Just got a little squinty eyes? With squinty eyes in these tiny arms? Like what is it doing with
those tiny arms? I don't know, I mean it's like... I feel like someone designed
that creature and they were like, eh, I'm good enough. I really like the way it
looks but it's adorable. It's like if that demon showed up, you're like, oh, oh, all yeah, everything is unquestionably cute in this movie. And he kind of, he kind like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th., he kind of like pats Glenn, like kind of acknowledging that Glenn brought him into existence is like giving him his
two human sacrifices and like, oh right. Oh, maybe you're an acolite. All right,
buddy, we got this. Yeah, Glenn fires a rocket right into his gullet, which is pretty
good. Yeah, it blows him up the house. And just really do. Right out the fucking front tour. Yeah.
That's one of the last notes I have, except for it,
does anyone else in this town notice
the mushroom cloud of demons over the Glenn's house?
Their name is not the Glenn, so that's fine.
That storm cloud is really neat looking, too.
When it first goes, and it looks like it's hitting the ceiling, and then just start to disperse him. I just feel like that would attract attention of like law enforcement or I don't know.
What's a Malti gonna do in this situation?
That's a good question. I forgot about Canada.
So Glyn gets, he's walking back to the house and that's when Terry and Al come out of the house.
But first, and the dog, Angus comes out of the house. Yeah, so Angus is not tru really tru really tru really tru really truly truly truly truly true is not truly th really th really th really th really th really th really th really thually th is not thually thually thi's not thi's not thi's not to to to to to that's to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to the the the they. tho. Hea. Hea. Hea. He's the tho. Hea. Hea. Hea. He's try. Hea. Hea. He's too. Hea. He's too. Hea. He's to to to to to to to dog. Angus comes out of the house. And the dog. Yeah, so Angus is not truly dead, which is really nice.
You know what's really shitty though?
The dog's old, he's gonna die again.
Yeah, they're gonna have to live through his death again.
I would never want to do that.
I feel like they shouldus too wasn't dead.
As far as we know, Angus lived forever.
He was already 97 in dog years.
I bet that he had died several times and Brian from Wings just kept replacing him with
a similar looking sheep dog.
Jesus.
You're so manipulative, Brian.
Yeah, well, you know, sometimes you don't want to explain death to like an eight-year-old. So that's the gate. This movie is so, you know, I was looking at like
just other things that came out in 1987. Like, you know, this was, this was my, the height of my
tween years and like, you know, like garbage pale kids are reigning my life and like just amazing, like
kid-based horror movies were kind of what was happening right now and it was just, it was really great time be a kid. I don't think if I was 41 then I would appreciate it as much
as I did being 13. See I saw this movie for the first time a couple months ago
it was brought to me by my friend Amanda of the episode of Pitt who was just really into
movies where like things live in holes and eat you because that's laugh in the business. And I loved it so I th I I I I I I I I I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th I th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. th. th. th. th. I thi thi thi thi thi the the theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat thee an the an the th you. I guess that's laughing the business. And I loved it.
So I think you would probably still love it.
Yeah, I think I mean I think I'm just old and nostalgic for that time
like of being a little kid and like having the world sort of be my playground.
Oh, guys.
All right. So do you want to go to ratings?
What do you want to go to ratings? What do you, I mean, we need to get out of your childhood feelings here?
Yeah, we can go to ratings. Do you want to go first? Yeah, I love this movie. I actually watched it
last night and I was kind of like, I don't really feel like doing this. And then I put it on, I was like,
oh, I love this movie. So I am going to give it a nine. Oh, nice. Yeah, good movie. this is definitely a comfort a thi I thi I to to to to give. I I to give. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. It's definitely like every time I watch it.
I'm so stoked that I'm watching it and it takes me back.
So I'm gonna give it a 10.
I'm really stoked on it.
I think you just like any movie that came out in 1987.
I think thi give it a 9 and a quarter. There you have it.
All right, so the gate, totally recommend.
Most definitely.

Bye. In a time before the earth, before the sun and before the light of the stars, when all
was darkness and chaos, the old gods, the forgotten the thoats, the old gods, the forgotten
gods, ruled the darkness. But what was theirs now belongs to the world the world of the world, the forgotten gods, ruled the darkness.
But what was theirs now belongs to the world of light and substance.
And the old gods, the rightful masters, are jealous,
watching mankind with a hatred that is as boundless as the stars,
with plans for the destruction of man that are beyond imagining!
