Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 401- Halloween 4 (1988)
Episode Date: October 24, 2022In this week's episode, we're getting into the holiday spirit with the return of Michael Myers-- it's the 1988 entry into the Halloween franchise, "Halloween 4." Special topics for your consideration ...include: diminishing returns on the Michael Myers well, being perhaps overly honest with a child, wishing death upon your annoying colleague and having no one bat an eye, a thesis on the acting of Donald Pleasance, and prerequisites for the position of sheriff here in Haddonfield. We've covered a wide breadth of "Halloween" movies, most of them kinda bad:  "Halloween III: Season of the Witch" (Episode 52), "Halloween H20" (Episode 201), "Halloween: Resurrection" (Episode 202), "Halloween" (the Rob Zombie reimagining, Episode 304), and "Halloween Kills" (Episode 353). EMTs, I am so incredibly excited for "Single White Female: the Musical" here in Pittsburgh at Bottlerocket on November 10th! Three, two, one.
I missed my hands when I clapped.
Did you notice it was only you?
I was so loud that I clapped for the two of us.
That's what I was carrying you.
Eight more days to Halloween, Halloween, Halloween.
A more days to Halloween, Silver Shamrock.
Nope, not doing that movie, Katie.
No, and if given the choice, I'd rather watch that one,
honestly.
I went into this movie in such a pissing mood that I had to watch this movie.
So here's what happened.
I said, maybe let's do Halloween for, and Alan said,
no, I don't really want to do, okay, I'll do it.
And I was like, oh, I don't feel strongly about it.
We don't have to.
Let's pick something else.
He was like, no, let's do Halloween 4.
And I was like, I mean, I can tell you, no, let's do something else.
And he was like, we're doing Halloween four. Why? Kids like this movie? Not why?
I don't know.
I will say, from the jump, right out the gate, this movie, arguably, the best opening
credits of any Halloween movie.
The like sort of spooky farm, Halloween, Autumn Opening.
Yeah.
And it's nothing to do with anything.
It's Halloween.
You oh, yeah.
It reminded me there's these series of like short half-hour-long films on YouTube
by witching season films.
That's just basically like a mask up against a farm background with spooky music.
And it's like these opening credits without the credits rolling over top.
So it's just very ambient. Okay, I like that. Like a, like a yul log. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. Or, or the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the series series series series series series series series series series series the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th the-s. the-s. theasesea thea.ea.ea.ea thooooooooooooooooooooooo the-loooooooo th. th. the-loo rolling over top. Oh cool. So it's just very ambient. Okay I like that. Like a like a Yulog. Yeah yeah exactly or the
Goullog on a shutter. Goulog already means something. Goulog? Goulog.
Not Gulag. It's what you just said. Goulog. Goul log. Two different words. Anyway I never thought about that? Yeah, gulog. I don't. I don't know I shan't. the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the th. th. th. th. th. that. Yeah, gulag. I don't know why shan't click on this.
But yeah, I love the opening credits to this movie. I think they are iconic.
And then... The rest of the movie happened. The rest of the movie happens. Why? So many choices of why?
I mean, it's sort of the Henry the A thing, right? Like, a little bit louder and a little bit worse.
They tried to make the, they tried to recapture the magic of the original movie.
Sure.
But did it without building any tension.
Yeah.
And a little bit louder, a little bit worse.
I have to tell you.
I hate the idea that Laurie's got so many fucking timelines to keep them all straight is a nightmare.
Yeah, yeah.
And I think that this might sound dumb, this might come out wrong, but like the way that
horror has in recent years, and we've discussed this on the show, become mainstream and
gotten some respect and gets money to make big budget movies is all sort of feels to me
like it's fighting against this idea that horror is very stupid. It's just
stupid slashers, blood and tits and whatever. And watching this movie, it's like
oh I see, I'm reminded of why the genre now feels like it has to do that because
that this movie's so fucking stupid. Yeah, there's nothing to it. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. And Lori's whole, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi's whole, thi's whole, thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's th. thi, to to to to thi, thi, to to to to to to th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. It's th. It's thi. It's th. It's th. It's thi. It's thi. It's thi. It's thi. It's thi. It's thi. It's thi. It's thi. It's to to to toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. It's th. It's th. It's th. There's nothing to it. Yeah. And Laurie's whole many iterations, all played
by the same actor, is insane. It's stupid. And you can see why people don't respect it.
It might go somewhere. Is this anything? No, no, you're making total sense. And I, I'm thinking
about like a comparison of like the one that you will definitely not like,
but to say like Halloween the OG, the original, 1978, is like Radiohead to the rest of the
movies being cold play or muse, where they're just like these kind of pale comparisons
that get like kind of more popular in the zeitgeist and are more known for, you know, like,
and or what people make fun of when they think they're making fun of radio
head, they just make it fun of cold play. Yeah, that's true. Yeah, I think you're
right about that and I think with the exception of Halloween 3, which is
like thinking you're going to get Radiohead and instead getting the remones. Yes, getting the remonesones remones remones, it remones, it remones, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, and I's, and I's, and I's, and I's, and I's, and I's, and I's, and I's, and I's, and I's, and I's, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and th, and th. And, and th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, ones. Yes, getting the remones. It might be the remones of films where you're like,
okay, I guess.
Yeah, this is something.
You could keep releasing this movie
and I would be totally fine with it.
Yeah, and then they, yeah.
But I mean, how great would like
that Carbner original idea of just like,
yeah, every Halloween we put out, nothing to do with the last one. It would have been cool to see what else they came up with. Yeah, fantastic, especially when they got to do it, they came up with someone stealing part
of Stonehenge and taking it to California to kill children. How did they get into California
though? The triptics are 30 feet tall. God, bless you, Connell Cochran. I love you so much. Stay crazy, girl.
Never change.
Oh my God.
I mean, every time, here's the thing about that movie, is that when I look back on it, I
think maybe I'll like it if I watch it again.
I won't.
It's so up my alley of stupid and crazy, but then when I watch it, I'm like, what is this? And all that matters is Tom Atkins got some.
Man, John Carpenter is just so sure that he's so fuckable.
He just wants women to fuck Tom Atkins.
Why not?
God bless them.
Whatever, everybody's got to get fucked, right?
And beautiful women too. A beautiful young women. It's like 20-year-old Jamie Lee Curtis.
Okay.
Tom Atkins looks like he works at your dad's office.
And he bought some of her pictures.
Oh my god, don't get me started.
That's not what we're here to talk about.
We're here to talk about the return from that movie.
Dog, I will sit here and talk about Tom Atkins and John Garvin' movies all day long. I know, but we've already devoted hours to this. Oh, I got a wet my whistle.
Why?
Katie, my friend, yeah.
Why do they always transfer Michael Myers on Halloween Eve?
I don't know.
You think they learn their lesson, they never do.
Even 20 years later, they don't learn it.
This is 10 years post.
Oh G Halloween.G. Halloween.
They're transferring Michael Myers.
He's in a coma, I guess, from the events of the second film.
Right, of being burnt in the second film.
In which I assumed Donald Pleasance was dead.
I forgot that he was in this movie.
I forgot that he was in like several of the later movies,
and I forgot how fun he was.
I thin' thu.
I's in them until he has shed this mortal coil. Yeah. He, I think he
is probably the best part of this movie, just like chomping the scenery in such a like delightful
way. I didn't mind Daniel Harris. No, I thought she was a cute child. Yeah, playing Jamie Lloyd.
Sweet baby Angel. I don't, I don't understand. So they go to the sanitarity, see these two people go to the sanitarium to pick up Michael Myers
on Halloween Eve, Halloween Steve if you will, and go to pick him up and uh, the guy, the guard
that's working the station is just kind of bitchy to them and it's hilarious.
He's like, Jesus ain't got nothing to do with this place.
Shachach!
Chatta!
He's like, this is where society dumps its worst nightmares, but you work here like it's
11, you know?
Somebody's gotta do it, you know what I'm saying?
It's got good pennies.
So we also meet at this point Michael Myers doctor who says Dr.
Lumas's position is more ceremonial than medical. Like what ceremony is this
man's on a coma but okay. And he's like I'm hoping that when Michael Myers is
gone he'll retire or something or die.
I think you're hoping for your colleague's death. He does not care for him at all.
No, the man has just been tried.
I mean, Dr. Lumas, one, very annoying.
I cannot imagine working with the man.
You know he never makes coffee.
He takes the last bit, puts it back on the hot burner and walks away.
Doesn't even take it, like, pours the cup and then dumps it right into the trashful making eye content with you.
He eats your lunch with your name on it and thanks you for it.
And puts it back in the fridge empty.
He's always down to your y'oplay yogurt, you know he is.
He loves the fruit on the bottom.
It's that thing is that he knows you love fruit on the bottom. Who doesn't? Mix that shit? that shit? that shit? that shit. that shit. that shit. th. that shit. th. th. that shit. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, the th. And, the th. And, th. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. to. to keep this man from killing people and has
apparently been I thought killed no no wounded yeah although his scars tend to disappear in certain scenes
Yeah, yeah. If he stretched his face just right they're gone gone gone gone
Oh man, I just have notes like oh, I bet it's Michael Myers in the ambulance. Oh, it sure is.
And of course he has a niece living in his hometown.
And the people are like, yes, he has a niece like over his body and you see his head like,
huh?
What?
How does he wake?
A week from a coma, right in this moment. As soon as you find out you have a relative, that's going to take you right, their, that, their, that, their, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, the, the, the, the, the, the, thi, thi, thi, thi, their, their, their, the, the, the, the, the, and I, and I, and I, and I, and the, and the, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, the people.. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th thin. th th th th th threate. th th they. the the the the the the the theat, the people. the the people. the people. the theat, the going to take you right out of a coma. He's like I gotta get on Facebook and see what their political affiliation is before I decide.
Katie, you think you could push your thumb through somebody's forehead?
Why does he put his thumb through that guy's forehead and not like through his eye?
Apparently when they finish shooting this movie, they're like, yeah there's not enough like blood and stuff in this. So let's go back and reshoot some blood. Like let's kill that guy by putting a thumb through his forehead.
Huh?
Michael Myers' thumb is the most dangerous weapon in this movie.
I'm 100% sure my thumb would break before it thrown.
Yeah, mine's extremely bendy.
I feel thrown.
Yeah,
look at that. I didn't know I could do that. I can't do this all the time now. Oh, yes, this is an audio, medium. Alan is stretching his thumb behind his knuckle in his hand to make. th. th. thick. thick. thi. thi. thi. thi. this. thi. this. thi. thi. thi. thi. this. thi. thi. this thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. Yeah, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. I's, thi. I's thi. I's togs. I'll, togs. I'll, thi. I'll, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thumb behind his knuckle on his hand to make it looks like his thumbs are on backwards. Oh man. And now Katie is doing the same. And I can't stop looking at it. I can't stop looking at it.
And I can't stop to show Lucy. It was my party trick for years. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's a goody. It's a goody. I'm taking it. But yeah, no, there's no way I can push my thumbs th. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why. th thumbs. th thumbs. th thumbs. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. th. th. th. th. thu. thu. I'm to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. I can. I can't th. I can't th. I can't th. I can't th. I can't th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I the. I thu. I thu. I thu. I thu. I thu. I thu. I the. I the. I'm thee. I the. I'm thee. I can't to to to to to to to to to the, nose, mouth, anything? There's soft spots all over that brain. That will all bleed.
You can get blood from any of them.
Yeah, find the Fontanelle and push your finger through.
You're killing a less than 18-month-old child.
That's horrible, Alan.
Maybe this guy never sealed up.
You would look so strange.
Always wearing a pitcher's helmet. So we meet a batter's helmet. Yeah, batter's helmet.
So we meet the sweet baby angel, Jamie Lloyd.
Jamie Lloyd.
Who's, so in the, okay, this is, in the three year period following Halloween too,
yes. Jamie Lee Curtis gets out of the hospital, gets married.
To a cop, I think.
Has a kid?
Yeah.
Okay. Both parents die how do they die it's never
we're never told well they passed away they're dead yeah they died of death of death
I hate it when death gets them final destination it so tragic you hate to see it you hate to see it
and for a moment I thought why is Rachel raising her's a teenager. Rachel, do you love me like a sister?
Well, you're not my sister, so...
That's such a weird line because Rachel is very tender to her.
So sweet, loves her to death.
Yeah, so, like, there's a better way to say that.
Katie, you know I love you like a sister. You know you're not my brother, Alan. Oh, for fuck sake.
Oh, also, who names their dog Sunday?
The dog's name was Sunday?
Yeah, come on Sunday.
That sucks.
Was it S-U-N-D-A-E?
It's got to be an E.
You don't name your dog after a day of the week.
What the fuck is this?
I met a dog.
I met a dog named Stanley, like that dog.
It's a good name for a dog.
Great ass name for a dog.
Sunday?
Not so much.
Sundy sucks.
This is a name by a chubby kid.
Mom will name the kill dog Sunday.
Banana split.
Banana split.
Hot fudge.
And Michael Myers looks jankier.
How does he look jankier than he than a than than that thing where I believe the original mask was lost at some point and finding the
William Shatner mask to fold inside out to make a new mask out of wasn't
easy to do apparently because after a certain point who's making William
Shatner masks. Yes. There was technology to make your own masks. Yes. Well that's the problem I think every special effects guys I'm like I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm the th. I'm the the thu the tho the the tho the tho thu it's the the tho. I believe thi. I believe thi. I was technology to make your own masks. Yes. Well that's the problem.
I think every special effects guy's like, I'm going to do it. I'm going to do my own mask.
I see. And this one looks like a paper plate with hair. It looks like when we go to Madmex,
my child will get a tortilla and bite out eyes in the mouth and that's what this fucking face. Yes. And that's what th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thorou- thorou- thi thi thi thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm to to to to to to to to toeeau-a'a'a'a'ea'ea'eatea'ea'a'ea' is like to to to to to to to to what this fucking looks like. A tortilla face. Yes. And poor baby Angel, Jamie Lloyd, is having nightmares about Michael Myers.
How does she even know to fear him?
Well, he's her uncle.
So, like, just because there's like blood between them,
like she's psychically connected to him because her uncle?
Yeah, you can't picture all of your uncles all the time.
Is that why I always have dreams of bootlegging and running small errands for the mafia?
My ancestors.
I always have dreams of knowing everything, just like my know-at-all uncle.
Fuck you, Uncle Frank.
All my uncles are dead now.
The better for us.
I hate it. I hate that she knows what her uncle
looks like slight unseen. I know. The little girl going into a box of memories when she's
like five years old is like, what memories do you have? Oh, that is no, no.
My child sleeps with a picture of you under her pillow at five years old.
Well, it's a current memory. And just a game Yeah, well, her mom's only been dead a year.
Not your child.
No, but I'm saying she's going to have that picture under her pillow a year from now.
No, but she's just like a box of memories, like an old person would have.
I know, I think you're underestimating children and their ability to collect shit. But also, in later movies, this child is not her child.
Her child is...
What?
Oh, Judy Greer.
No, well, yes.
And then before that, her other abandoned child is...
Josh Hartnett?
Oh, my God, yes.
Yeah.
Why, why movies, do you keep doing this?
You can't just reinvent the wheel like halfway through.
The current iteration of Laurie Strode is that nothing after two happened?
Correct.
Which is fine, if all these other Laurie Strodes hadn't existed, all played by the same woman.
I don't know why it gets me the most that it's Jamie Lee Curtis. Because I feel like if they had had someone else play her in like H2O or something, and then she came back, Jamie
Lee Curtis came back in 2018 or whatever it was, you'd be like, oh that's awesome, that's
funny.
But like, no, you can't just pretend we didn't watch you mother Josh Hartnett.
I was there.
Sort of though. Because in the Josh the Josh the Josh the Josh the Josh the Josh the Josh that in that in that in that in that's, that's, that's, th. that's, th. that's, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. that, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. I. the. I. I. to. to. I. to. to. I. to. I. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the. the. the. the. th. th. I. th. Sort of though. Because in the Josh Hartnett movie too I remember her being like oh all that stuff about her being him being her sister?
Mm-hmm. Or was that in the new movie? I feel like I saw them in very recent
succession. Like what is the storyline and... Oh in the new movie where she's like like the myth of them being related or whatever? Are they still related in H2O? I can't remember either? I think they are they are they are they are they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that's that's that's th. thi that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the. the. that's the. H2O, I can't remember either. I think they
are maybe actually. They're not related currently. No, I guess that's that. Yeah. Oh,
also this movie sort of presupposes or predates in a way Halloween kills. The second one.
With like the the townies going after Michael Myers and all that jazz. I know the vigilante justice is a bad thing but damned if I don't want to be they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're not they're not they're not they're not they're not they're not they're not they're not they're not they're not they're not they're not they're not they're not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they're not they're not they're not they're not they're not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they are not they're not they're not they're not they're not they're not. I they're not. I they're not. I they're not. I they're not. I they're not. I they're not not. They're not. They're not. I they're not. They're not. They'reies going after Michael Myers and all that's.
I know that vigilante justice is a bad thing, but damned if I don't want to be out there doing it.
Just out there with my friends hunting down the bad guy? I mean, I think in a perfect world
where we don't have cops, like as a society we have to take care of things.
But like just fucking dumb drugs with shotguns is not the thing to do.
No, I guess you're right. You just think it'd be fun. A bonding experience for everyone.
But also this movie predates Scream and the Scream franchise by the entire town knowing who Michael
Myers is.
Except for Brady.
And it being a popular Halloween costume.
Yes, it's in the goddamn discount store.
Why would they have a mask of him in the store in the town?
And why, Brady works on the store.
But also, because we live in a world where people have a fucking hard on for
watching Jeffrey Domer TV.
Yeah, I'm not watching that shit.
But just like, all like serial killer, like, people dress up as, um, Zodiac to go out for Halloween.
Like, I am on a subreddit called Shit Mom Groups, say.
And it's just people reposting things that insane people say in mom groups. And there have been a number of them that are like, their tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, thi, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people, people people people, people thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, people who thi, people thi, people thi, people thithem that are like, can I dress my daughter up as Jeffrey Dahmer for Halloween?
And people being like, no!
If you have to ask.
It's so, what is wrong with you?
Truly.
But, but so it makes sense that you're going to have Michael Myers masks in your dollar
store.
You're right, you're right.
Just like it makes sense that you're going to have scream masks at your their the God. No, that doesn't make sense because they had enough for every movie theater goer in the
entire world.
And scream masks street signs hung over on the street when Sidney comes back to sell her
book in town?
Sydney.
I wish we were doing a Scream movie instead.
But yeah, I mean, so like on some level like this movie is very meta that stuff. Yeah, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. And th. th. th. And thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that, that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, th. And, that's that's that's that's that's thrown, thi. like, this movie is very meta from that aspect and like predates
a lot of that stuff.
Yeah.
Sorry that I said presupposes.
It does not presuppose.
It's just because we love that phrase so much.
With this movie presupposes is that you can yell at your tie.
that you can yell at your tie.
thi to the tie into a dumb shit, go get your tie. Is this your first time wearing a tie? I felt so bad for the mom in that scene where she's like on the phone her husband's yelling
at her as kids running around.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a real trash.
Her kids yelling at her, she's like, hey, the babysitter, the babysitter, the babysitter, the babysitter, the babysit is th, th, th, and I I I I I I I th, and I, and I the baby's the baby's the baby's the baby, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I the baby, and I the baby, and I the baby, and I the baby, and I the babysit is the babysitter, the babysitter, the babysitter, and I the baby, the babysitter, the babysitter, the baby, the baby, the baby, the baby, the babysitter, she's, she's, she's, she's, the baby, the baby, she's, she's, the baby, I, I, I, I, I the baby, I, I, I, I the, I, I, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I th, I th, I th is th is the, I the, I the, I the the the the the the the the the the that, the the the the baby's the baby's the baby's the baby's the baby's the baby's the baby's the baby's the the the the the thatter yeah, but I hate that kid and I hope she falls into a thresher. She does not say that. She says I'm trying to get knocked up by Brady.
And her mom's like, oh yeah.
I have a date with Brady.
Brady. You can miss it.
Brady looks like a Neanderthal.
Brady, from what?
From what movie that you love? No, I've never seen Brady before my life. That is, not true. Tell me who Brady is. Dazed and confused.
What?
He's that guy, the Neanderthal looking guy?
I had no idea.
Wow, as a teen.
To which I have the note, days are confused.
We cannot escape this movie.
We really can't.
And why do we want to. But it's just like like, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it, it, it's, it, it, it, that, that, that, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th. th. th. thi, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi,'s just like, it's become our Alptrust. I'm so sure, I've never seen that Neanderthal before my life.
He looks like the missing link.
He's also very stupid in this movie.
Sure, yeah, yeah.
But Jamie overhears Rachel saying that she's gonna, mom's gonna ruin her life by not letting
her go on a date with Brady. Yeah, just trying to, just to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to to to the to the to to to the to to to to to the to to ruin to ruin to ruin the the the the the to ruin. And tooomend tooomomom and the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the missing the the missing the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thoenenenenenenenenonononuoenenonononuanteananananananananananananan.oenenonononeananan.oen.oom. tooen. tooen. tooen. to. And just trying to get his dick wet. Just trying to, just a tip, and then all of it.
Then, just the tip and then the rest.
The rest.
But then to make it up, Rachel's like, no, we're gonna hang out.
We'll go get ice cream.
Double scoops.
Double scoops. Oh, she's just a sweet baby angel. I was like, yeah, man, double scoops, even though you know it's too much and you should
just get a single scoop.
That kid can't eat that much ice cream, it's a waste.
You get the double scoop and then you feel gross after your hands covered an ice cream.
Oh, I don't get it on a cone.
What?
Get it in a bowl like an adult. Adults cannot cannot cannot cannot cannot cannot cannot cannot cannot cannot cannot cannot cannot cannot cannot cannot cannot can that ice that with any level of dignity. Oh I've pissed away
dignity years ago, you've eaten enough ice cream for me to know. I don't know if
I've ever seen you eat a cone. Of course you have. Every time you go to Pages and I
get a medium soft serve with the dip. Cherry dip. No you're right, I guess I've seen you eat a cone. Yeah, I think I may have commented on this before. Yeah, there's no techno in my life.
I wish I had the freeness.
The freedom, freedom, that's the word.
I have accepted what I am and the rest of the world wants to judge me.
They can go pound salt and go fuck yourselves.
That cherry dip. thii. It's great. Can you get that in a bowl though? Why would I? I'm pretty.
We cut to the ambulance being upside down in a pond.
Yeah.
I love that like bloody shallow water around the ambulance.
Sure, yeah, yeah.
And here's Dr. Loomis.
The entire, the entire ambulance, inside and out is covered in blood.
Just blood everywhere.
I guess if you're people to death you're just
getting blood everywhere. Yeah and they're all like oh he beats probably from
the accident. No have you never seen a car accident before? I mean I haven't really
but I presume it's not that bloody. How many bodies you find? I don't know two
three we can't really tell they're all messed up. They're all chewed up. And he's like yeah no he's not dead. You're thing he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he t he he t t t. t. You're t. t. the t. the te te te te. te. he's he he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's all heed heed heed heed heed heed he. he. he. he. he he. he he. he he he. he he he he. he's all he's all he's all he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he he he he he he he he he he he te. te. to to to. to. to to. to to to to to to to to tod to to to the. the. the. the. the. the. tell, they're all messed up. They're all chewed up. And he's like, yeah, no, he's not dead.
You're talking about him as if you were a human being.
Then we see Michael Myers in a service station with gauze all over his face and a t-shirt,
which I liked a lot.
It was like his Halloween costume.
Just randomly stabbing a guy. Oh, here's a joke I have for the he he he he he he he he th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi's th. Oh here's a joke I have for the kids.
Yeah. Did this ambulance crash and love canal? It looks toxic
toxic. I don't know what that means. That was a river that burnt in the 70s because it was so
filled with toxic chemicals. In Cleveland? Uh, can't remember if it was in Cleveland or not,
but yeah. I know their river has caught fire. I think it was in upstate New York, but maybe. Yeah. Man, we are gross. We are bad people.
Yeah, people are bad people.
Oh yeah, all of us.
Yeah.
I like the Loomis goes to the gas station where Michael Myers is wearing his gauze
at D-shirt and fills up his car and I guess I gotta go pay for this now. I like that he's driving around in a Chevy caprice with the federal sanitarium magnet
on the side.
And like, the thing is here that if Michael's on the move and he's in a hurry and he's one
track-minded, his only thing he can think of is to kill Jamie, why does he bother stringing
up this guy in the chains? Well, Katie, as you know, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he has th, he has th is thi, he has thi, he has thi, he has thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to to thi, is to to to to to to to to thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is th is thi, is th is th is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thin. thin. to thin. thin, is thin, is to find somebody who is also six foot five and wearing a
jumpsuit that he can steal.
In every movie, he has to steal a jumpsuit from somebody.
Yeah, I'm glad that he was able to find a jumpsuit to fit his enormous body.
Like I guess Moose was off that day and left his behind.
And then we also know that all of these killers love setting up pranks to get people with. Did did you th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th their their their their their their their their their their their their th. th. thus thus thoom thoom thus thi thus thi thoomoomoombu thoombu thoom-s thu thu thu thu. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. the. In the. teeea. tea. tea. teea. tea. tea. tea. teea. tea. tea. tea. Did you see all those portraits of Abraham Lincoln on the wall in the service station?
I left so hard at that.
I'm 100% convinced that the makers of this film are just like, how do we let them know?
They're in Illinois.
Land of Lincoln.
Land of Lincoln, baby.
And they were just like, they were all tacked up at camera height.
Just, just put that, put that right there.
Michael then drives a tow truck through a garage door,
which we don't get any more of him driving a tow truck,
which I would have really like.
Well, he parks it in town.
He does park in town.
He just parked in town. He's. You's. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. And I was like, you were so effective, Michael Myers, I love you.
She's just so good, the man woke up from a coma this morning.
And has maximum thumb strength,
like he's been exercising that thumb in a coma for 10 years.
Right, because even like one of the cops says, you know, even if he was just thrown from the vehicle and that's
why we can't find him, his muscles would be useless.
Sir, they are not useless.
No, right through a forehead.
No, he's probably been doing burpies in that coma.
Like, he's got it.
I guess if you just keep doing them in your head.
Oh, what a nightmare. Ten years of burpies. their. their. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi.'s an orphan, Jamie's an orphan, which like, oh, God.
Calm down Dickens' villains?
What do you do?
Seriously.
Your uncle's a murderer.
How do you know this?
Yeah, how do you know this?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, my god. So then Rachel picks Jamie up. Also I was losing my mind because all these kids are wearing
fucking awesome 1988 Ben Cooper costumes and like Collegeville stuff.
And I was just so stoked about this.
Like the fact that one kid's wearing a mask costume,
which was a short-lived cartoon and toy line that no one fucking remembers that isn't my age or older.
Yeah, I've never heard
of this. They were really cool, like it was like a toy that would like pop open, it would
be like a jeep and it would pop open and there would be a boat that would shoot down. It was
really cool. Wow, precursor to Fast and thetreated. Oh, 14 you gave it up. That's sad.
I trick-or-treated through it until I was an adult.
Really?
Yeah, fuck it, they're giving away candy.
You know that I was also six foot two when I was 14?
Yeah, I was not that tall then.
And I think everyone was like, It's so trick or try. Oh yeah. I give it to the parents who are walking their kids around. Oh, you want some candy?
I gave it to the guy that was walking his kid and drinking a beer last year.
Yeah, one of my neighbors gives away beer to parents instead of can't.
And I guess he gives candy the kids too, but he just gets like a couple cases of
budlides and he just passes the to... Your neighborhood, Halloween night, no laws. I think on Halloween, I walk around and drink on Halloween.
Are you not supposed to?
I think you're supposed to?
I think open container laws are fucking bullshit.
Last year, Vicki and I just filled solo cups with red wine and walked her in with them.
Ah. I could see why you were offended by Chris Prats, Mario.
Ah, Italian-American erasure. I cannot take it.
Seriously, you couldn't get a single Italian American to do it.
I had to go and make sure Captain Lou Albano was dead.
I was like, if you don't bring him back from this.
He was an Italian Italian too, that man was from the homeland.
Do you think Louis Albano was a...
Well, you could have been first generation.
Sure, it's true.
It's true.
Why do you have those rubber bands stuck to his face?
It always looks so gross.
I don't know.
He was a funny guy.
It was a funny guy.
Man, I hate watching Super Mario Brothers' Super Show with my kid.
I wish Robin never showed going to the spaghetti ball.
And you're like, what?
Hey, Pisanos.
That's a slur, it's not.
It's not a slur.
There is an episode where all viral shows up on that show.
Really? I'll make sure we watch that one.
And I'm sure it's hyper offensive.
Yeah, oh god, I'm sure.
The show just hates it's just hates the show the show the show the show the show the show just hates Italian-Americans. Sure, sure. Okay. Anyway.
Things you didn't expect to hear in this episode.
I'm always fucking bitching about Super Mario Brothers Super Show on Twitter.
Oh, man.
So, bring your arms from Sard to Sard.
To the Mario!
I love it so much.
Oh, I'm going to take Lucy to see Mario in the theater as her first movie in a theater.
Oh nice.
So I think that's what we're going to do.
That's awesome.
Yeah.
If you have any urge to see the Mario, are you going to just lean and go, it's me, Mario.
I'll just translate it for her,, she only speak of the broken Italian.
So, Rachel and her friend.
So, Rachel and her friend,
to pick up J.B. From school.
So, Rachel and her friend,
Oh, friend?
Pick up Jamie from school.
And they're like, do you want to go get ice cream right now or should we go get a costume?
Because Jamie's now like, I want to go trick-or-chating?
Because I was bullied.
Yeah, I didn't get that turn around, but okay.
She wants to just be a normal kid.
Okay, fair.
And her boyfriend works at the discount, Mart, where they're having a sale. Yeah. And even though he apparently is her boyfriend, she doesn't want to show up at his work
because a guy hates a girl who comes on too strong.
I think she's putting the moves on him.
They're like in the early stages of date.
Well, they have a date tonight.
Yeah.
It's also very dick of her to not tell him earlier so that he could make other plans. Yeah. But he also takes a, he goes a little hard in the pain.
He does go a little hard in the pain.
I'm not excusing his actions, but I'm saying she started it.
I think just being named Brady set me on a back foot.
I was like not ready to like this guy.
No. And plus when we see Brady and the sheriff's daughter who's the hot lady working at the dollar store. The sheriff of Haddonfield must have a teenage daughter to be elected.
It's just like part of the requirements for the role.
It's true.
And the friends are daring the other friends to go and talk to her and ask her out of the
date.
And she said, fuck off Wade.
I thought Wade was going to be Brady at first. I was like like like like like like like like like like, oh like, oh, oh, oh, oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, the the, the the, the the the the the. the. the the the the the the the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. the, the, the, the, the, the. I was like, oh, Brady, no.
He's so greasy.
He's so greasy.
Anyway, Brady's out here necking on the clock.
You can't just make out at your job?
She's like, Brady, I have to tell you some.
I'll like, send this little girl to go find her own costume. Down the nightmare aisle filled with her murder uncle's face.
Why on earth?
Yeah.
And then I just have a note that says hot dog hand Michael shows up.
His hands do look like hot dogs.
Look like they're just, we have began to sausage just all over the top of them where he's been
burned in quotation marks.
Yeah, he reaches over the shelf and picks up the mask.
Puts it on, I guess, in this fantasy she's having.
I don't know what's happening.
Did I leave this here?
I will not pay $1.99 for this.
And then she picks out a costume, which is the clown from the first movie.
Yeah. I likes that, actually. Oh, man. Then we just get Dr. Luma's like, thi thi thi th. th. th. th. thi. th. thi. thi. thi. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. I just, th. thi. I, thi. I just, th. th. th. th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, th. Yeah, th. I, th. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. Luma's like stumbling down the street and these teenage cheerleaders are busting up on him?
What is happening? And then he gets picked up by a priest that has an I Love Jesus sticker
inside of his car to remind himself? He has a vanity license plate that says Amen.
He loves the TV show.
He also has a sticker in his, in his, uh,
in his truck that says, I believe the Bible.
It's like his own, the truth is out there.
I'm going to put that with the people that have the, I Love the Constitution bumper stickers that I've been seeing a lot of. I mean, we all should, right?
It's fine, it's a living document.
His name is Reverend Jackson Peasayer.
Oh, I like that a lot.
I saw a clear as breasts and bluesway shoes.
I have that note too.
I was like, how do I work that into my everyday usage?
I wrote, I think I'd prefer to walk. Well, you would, unless you were drunk as Donald Pleasance.
And he goes, hey, want to drink?
And he goes, hey, he loves, I feel like he wasn't supposed to take it in Donald Pleasants
himself was like, I am an alcoholic.
It's just please.
I thought that the parents were going to a Halloween party and they were just wearing suits and I didn't get it, but I guess they're going to like a business meeting?
Because it's the difference between going to a RUBA for two weeks
or going to Grandma's house in Cleveland.
Weird time to have a business meeting,
but okay.
Halloween business meetings.
Hally in business. That's terrible. It's terrible. It's terrible. It's terrible. It's terrible. It's terrible. It's terrible. It's terrible. It's terrible. It's terrible. It's terrible. So we see...
How do you guys handle that?
When we take Lucia trick or tree?
We put a bowl.
Oh, yeah.
Gotcha.
Yeah. takes, you know what I mean? Like so many of my neighbors are already sitting outside that it's pretty. It's the honor system. You're a dick if you take the
whole bowl. I've come home the last couple years to still find candy in there.
Yeah. Yeah, proud of you. I'm surprised, yeah. Teens, you're doing all right. Yeah,
yeah, for sure. I always put a note on that says don't take bowl. to take take bowl. Don't take bowl. Don't take take bowl. He gets in the fucking house.
We see, what is the, Rachel and Jamie walk out the front door and then Michael's just
walking up the stairs.
How?
And how?
Okay.
And she has a photo of him from the year he was a murderer at Halloween in the same costume.
Yeah.
What?
Well, you don't keep photos of your murder uncles?
I fortunately have zero murder uncles.
That I know of.
That's true.
Oh, some of them could be.
So, Lumis gets a ride in the town and immediately goes to the police station and goes, as I have
the note, Lumus going full Lumus at the police station.
He is, and Sheriff Meeker is all caught up to speed and he's like, well, all right, then,
let's fucking do something about it.
And all the other cops are like, what, what, what the fu? I appreciate that the movie doesn't make us suffer through Donald Pleasant's trying to convince.
I appreciate that they're like, okay, we're doing it.
That's a thing that never does he have to explain anything more than once to these people.
And they're like, yeah, I'm on board.
Yeah, let's go find this thing.
Yeah, Halloween is fucking great, Jamie goes trick-or-treating with Rachel. She's like, Halloween is great! Yeah, Halloween is fucking great, Jamie.
What's wrong with you?
Well, there's been a little bit of trauma in her family around Halloween.
Many, many years before she was born.
Yes, but her blood uncle that's in her brain all the time.
I see.
And then the kids who are mean to her are nice to her because she's she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she's she's she's she's she's she's to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to want to go and they take her trick-or-treating up to the next
house and I was like oh this is a beautiful story I love this so much credits
roll and end here but they don't because we go to the sheriff's house where his daughter opens the door wearing a t-sh-weighed the te-h-weighing a the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. tree tree te te te te te te te te te. te te. te. te. te te te te te te their te te t-shirt that says, cops do it by the book, and basically nothing else. And how many pants is she wearing? Zero pants.
How many pants does she wear for most of the movie?
How many pants is she wearing and there's a teen boy in the house?
Zero.
Zero.
Yeah, and now I'm not even a father and I was angry.
Well, it's like, it's, but also her dad comes home with two colleagues, a woman who knows her and a child and she still doesn't put pants on, you know. I'm trying to fuck this guy dad, so if you could get out here.
Could you just, uh, uh, you got a cock blocking me right now?
I mean, she's answering the door to trigger treaters with no pants on.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah. It's a trick and a treat and a trthe background of the scene.
And she's like, I thought you were different.
And he was like, I am different.
It's just that I've got a boner.
And this dick isn't it going to dip itself?
No, it's not.
Dipping it into a bowl of syrup like her dad's tie.
And then yelling at his wife,
Whoa!
So the sheriff has put out a curfew and said everyone needs to clear the streets
because Michael Myers is back. And all businesses need to be closed. And the bartender's reaction is, I'm calling
the police station. Yeah, he wants verification that it's for real. No one's answered at the police station. I'm gonna have to get a posse. Yes, he's like takes all the... So you know what's up. It takes all the, yeah, I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I's, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the police station, I'm going to have to get a posse. Yes, he's like, so you know what's up. It takes all these, yeah, I just put my leg over, that was last episode,
wasn't it? Never mind. He takes all these guys to the police station with him because as he
says, the phone never just rings at the police station. Like he's dating the police station. Like he's dating the police. Yes, yes. Yes. Yes, he's, he's, he's the to, he's to, he's to, he's to, he's to, he's to, he's to, he's to, he's to, he's to, he's to, he's th. Yes, he's th. Yes, he's th. They sure are.
And again, they look like my family.
I wrote, now that the movie has reached its halfway point, I hope something happens.
Wait!
I keep waiting.
I will continue to wait because I wrote the same thing when I wrote.
We are now two-thirds of the way through this movie, and there still hasn't been any tension built. We do get a kill around this point.
Oh, Bucky from the electric company who talks shit?
Bucky does get his ass busted.
But before Bucky gets his ass busted, Lumus finds the photos of Jamie's Family, and they find Dead Sunday,
the dog.
LUMMTOMY, thi find Dead Sunday, the dog. Right.
Had to kill the dog, Michael? Just for no fucking reason. He's always killing dogs.
He is a dog killer. So the parents are all picking their kids up off the street from trick-or-treating. A car pulls up to the group of kids that Jamie is with. their the the the group of kids that Jamie is with with, right. the the the the the the the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their they's they's they's they's they's they's th. th. thi. they's they's they's they's tooomomom is tooom is tooom is tooom. A car pulls up to the group of kids that Jamie is with while Rachel is arguing with Brady.
Right. The parent is like, come on kids, you've all got to get in, we got to go.
Jamie does not get in the car with the other kids. And the car drives away. What kind of parent would
leave Jamie on the street by herself? Uh, looking out for number one. They took all those other kids.
took all those other kids. Why would Jamie not get in that car? The whole movie could have been avoided. I don't know. She just recently got accepted into the click so maybe they weren't ready for her.
Well I think the parent would be like no you too. There's a killer on the lose.
Oh my god, it's so dumb. So yeah we see Bucky, the guy who works at the substation
be a dick to Michael, and Michael's like,
yeah, I'm actually gonna use you to shut the substation down.
Yeah, just throws him right onto it.
Rip Bucky.
Oh my god.
And again, like, Michael's, like, his elaborate plans for shutting this town down are so stupid. So stupid. Yeah. The guys get to the police station and see that the whole thing is trashed.
Nobody's there.
Oh, they are there because they're dead.
Oh, they're dead.
Well, yeah.
Nobody's there in living.
But there is a cop who's driving around, but who's in the back seat?
Who? It's a six foot five two hundred and ninety pound man. Oh. It's an NFL lineman just hiding in your backseat.
Okay.
And then the sheriff and Lumas see Michael Myers on the street?
But it isn't.
And then there's four other Michael Myers and they're like, ah, fuck you sheriff.
Hey, don't shoot us.
Hey, don't shoot us.
It's horrible. I'm a teen and a piece of shit. I mean those two things are a
Venn diagram of a circle. Sorry, teens out there. We have some teen listeners. You guys are fine.
You're, you're the exception that proves the rule. You know what I mean?
I do kind of. I've never really figured out what that saying means. No, I don't, I don't actually know.
Well, anyway, they shoot Ted Hollister.
God damn it, you shot Ted Hollister.
This is the vigilantes, Katie's people.
Yeah. I've shot Ted Hollister.
Yeah. Right. Well, I wouldn't have shot Ted Hollister.
I don't think. Maybe if I was told to. And cut to Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady. to Brady. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to to to to to if I was told to. And cut to Brady and the Sheriff's daughter going to Poundtown?
I like that his girlfriend breaking up with him did not stop his boner.
Kitty. You've obviously never been a 17-year-old boy.
I have not. Can't stop, won't stop, Cockafeller.
She has very large breasts. She does, but no titty bell can can be wrong because you don't actually ever see her titties.
Yeah, keep that bell on the shelf.
But she does have very large breasts.
Very large breasts.
She's like, oh, it's my dad.
She's like, oh, it's my dad.
The sheriff.
He's going to kill you if he sees you.
And he's here with yeah, I guess so. And he's like, okay, take the shotgun.
I'm gonna kill you if you talk to my daughter.
He's just deputizes him.
He's like, here's a gun, you can fire it at anybody
and go up and board up the attic.
And he's like, try.
Okay.
Like, throwne, could he not know who Michael Myers is,
Brady? He's like, who is that? I don't know, the rest of the town was tormenting this girl with it.
The children know, Brady? Luckily, Meeker has a, Meeker is the sheriff's name, has a CB radio
in the basement that he's been working on. He was going to get a generator just next week. Okay. And he contacts the state state state state the state state the state state the state the state state the state the state the state state the state the state the state the state the state the state the state the state the state the state the state the state the state the state the state the state the state the state. boys, which is all they've heard of the state police. State boys. And Lumas is like, I'm going to go
find Michael Wires. Right. I gotta go do this. Meanwhile, the daughter is just using a stove with no
pants on and a thong for fuck sake. And Rachel leaves sleeping Jamie alone in a bedroom. Why?
She's got to go get coffee I guess. I guess. She goes down and fights with
what is the sheriff's daughter? Sheriff's daughter. Sheriff's daughter.
She's like don't blame the other woman. Blame your boyfriend. Oh for sure. I mean
blame them both but like really it's Brady's fault. She's just trying to get her tick with. Why's up to what men want Rachel or Brady won't be the last be the last be the last be the last be the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the the the the the the the to be the other to blame. Why's up to what men want Rachel or Brady won't be the last man you lose to another woman?
Wow! Sick burn.
And fuck men if they're going to be like that.
1988, baby.
Oh, I can't imagine why I had fucked up ideas about relationships.
Yeah, I'm not sure. Anyway, Rachel dumps coffee on her.
And it's just like everyone's leaving each other alone. Like sheriff calls Rachel in to look at the
radio and he's like, you're gonna be in control of this from now because I gotta go. I just got to go.
I'm out of here. You know how to see B right. I got a town full of beer bellies running around with shotguns. I loved that so much. Yeah, yeah. I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm that I'm that I'm that I'm that I'm that I'm that I'm that I'm that I'm that I've that I've that I've that I've th. Yeah. It's almost like not everyone should have a gun. I mean just spitballing here. What?
Yeah. Do you think that like maybe not everyone should have a gun? Well what if some people had a lot
of guns? Um, well it's in the Constitution, right? So we can all have guns? Yeah, I wish it was, we would just stick with it and all just had bare arms?. th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the the the that that that that the the the the the the the the the the the the like thi thi thi thi th. th. It's like tho tho tho thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo the the th. It's's in the Constitution, right? So we can all have guns? Yeah, I wish it was, we would just stick with it and all just had bear arms.
Yeah.
And then everyone just had to swipe at each other.
Wait, when you say bear arms, are you saying B-A-R-E or B-E-A-R?
Second one.
Okay, so we all have the arms of bears attached to our human bodies. Yeah, I can get down with that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Right to bear arms. Sorry, I'm an idiot. Forget me. No, I liked it. I actually am just imagining my
body with bear arms on it. I'm thinking like, it wouldn't be so bad. You could just slip into them.
They're like big gloves. Oh, I thought that I would have the strength of bears arms. You're just talking about, what? How, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, to, to, the to, the to the the to the to the to the to to the the the the to to the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to bear their to bear to be to be to be to be to be to be right, right, right, right to be right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, the the their their their their their their their their to their to to their their to their their their their their their their their their the. Oh, I thought that I would have the strength of Bear's arms. You're just talking about, well, sure.
How are you going to slip into strength?
Uh, because the muscles are in there.
Ain't that how muscles work?
Oh, I guess.
So Kelly is the sheriff's daughter's name.
Just found it in the notes.
And she goes to give a cup of coffee to the police officer Logan who's watching out for Michael and he did.
He's just staring at the front door, sitting right inside the front door staring at it,
which seems like the ideal job to me.
The rocking chair is still rocking.
Of course it is.
And then Michael picks up a shotgun and nails her to a wall with a shotgun.
And then leaves the shotgun behind.
As he does. This Michael Myers also has a mullet. Which, which, which, which, which, which, which, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the shotgun. And then leaves the shotgun behind. Yes, he does. This Michael Myers
also has a bit of a mullet, which I think was very timely.
Sure. Very 1988? Yeah. Rachel finds dead cop and Kelly. Oh lord. And like, this is why you don't leave the little child alone because now she's alone up there. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. the. th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th, it th, it th. th. th, th, th, th, th, th, it th, it th, it th, it th, it th, it th, it th, it th, it th, it th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thi the thi don't leave the little child alone because now
she's alone up there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And now Brady has to play the
hero. Yeah, Brady's redemption arc is basically fucking around with a gun
instead of running away. And then we see Michael Myers use his favorite
weapon again. His thumb. Yeah. And now I have the note Brady is deady. That's not good. It's not good. There's so many many things thing thing thing thing thing th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi yeah yeah yeah. Yeah. And now I have the note, Brady is deady. That's not good. I mean, there's so many things, there's so many things I'll let you slide on,
and that one is just not one of them. Oh, I'm not proud of it, but I did want to share with you.
You had to say it out loud, just to make sure that I and all of them knew about it.
So then we get them going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going going to to to to to to their to to to go to go their their to go their their their their tho tho tho tho tho tho their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their to to throw a bunch of shit onto the attic stairs, which is actually a pretty good way to slow someone down, because it's hard to climb over a lot of shit on narrow stairs.
And also Brady did a shit job boarding up those windows because she just cracks right
through it.
He's the worst.
No, no, no, even his own mother is like, well, this is a bit of a relief.
Oh, than. Oh, thank thi. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Look at your thinking like a homeowner.
God, I don't have a slate roof.
Oh boy.
But slippy too.
Very slippy.
And I also thought that Rachel was telling Jamie to go down the chimney and I was like,
there's a fire burning, you psycho!
That's not what she's telling her.
She wants her to climb down the outside of the chimney.
Yeah.
I was like, no, are you fucking kidding me?
Anyway, being a sheriff must pay well.
That house is huge.
Yeah, for sure. Well, it is, you probably get a lot of hazard pay in Haddonfield because of all the Michael Myers'
Yeah, I guess so.
Um, so Rachel falls off the roof.
Yes.
And Jamie gets down to her and says my favorite line in the movie.
Why does she say this?
Come alive, Rachel, come alive!
Why would she say that?
She's not Peter Frampton. What are you doing? Come alive.
Stupid.
Why does she not just say, wake up, wake up please, like something a child would say.
Well, Katie, Rachel does, Rachel lives.
Meanwhile, Dr. Lumas has scooped up Jamie and he's like, where's the schoolhouse?
Like it's the 1800s. We don't call it that. He's like, we'll be safe there. Why would the th. th. th. th. th. th. Rachel. Rachel. Rachel. Rachel. Rachel. Rachel. Rachel. Rachel. Rachel. Rachel. We don't call it that.
He's like, we'll be safe there.
Why would you be safe at the school?
You're not safe anywhere.
You know that better than anyone.
This is the first time you've done your Dr. Luma's impression,
and I'm very into it. Yeah, it's like I guess Michael always hated to learn. He would never set foot in an institution of learning.
He's a book of fob. Yeah. Dr. Lumas immediately gets thrown through a window and does not protect the child in any meaningful way.
Did he shoot the locks off the door to get into the school? People were like shooting locks off the doors throughout this movie?
Brady definitely does because I was like wow he's a good shot. Yeah. Yeah. He also Brady like thwax Michael Myers with a shotgun which does not stop him
but being sprayed by a fire extinguisher does. Yeah, okay. It's like a joke that I
heard why does a and the old Superman TV show he would stand there while people would
shoot bullets at him and then they'd throw the gun and he duck? It's like, I guess the bullets aren't real but that guy could really hurt you.
Yeah for sure.
Yeah.
And I love the killing Ted Hollister wasn't enough for those guys.
They're still out hunting.
They roll up at the school.
They roll up at the school.
That's what inside means, Jamie.
I love that the town vigilantes are not chanting Evil dies tonight.
I forgot about that.
God, I hated that movie.
That was really shitty.
I don't know if I can watch the next one.
You know, I'm feeling very lukewarm about it, because I enjoyed the first one so much.
Yeah. And I need to see how the series ends.
Yeah. But like, that last one really left a bad tase in my mouth. Yeah.
Yeah, they did the worst thing that they could have possibly done. Yeah.
I'll never forget.thing of my favorite people?
Uh, I think it's on Pecock.
Uh, Pocock.
Uh, or Hulu, one of the two.
Uh, and it's, they were in a sitcom in the 90s,
and it's been rebooted and they're coming back.
I bet Judy Greer's so fucking funny. Yeah, I love her. getting a moment. Johnny Knoxville is Johnny Knoxville but it works. You know
what? Say what you like, I like Johnny Knoxville. Yeah, but then you say that
and then what about that Satanism movie? I think he was fine.
You are lying to both yourself and me. I didn't hate that movie. No, no, you didn't hate that movie. No, no, you didn't hate that movie but he was really bad in it. Yeah. No, no, you didn't th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Sure.
Very charismatic.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Anyway, the vigilantes, Rachel's like, we should just leave.
We just need to get out of Haddonfield.
And the vigilantes are like, yeah, all right.
Yeah, let's let the tro down the road. What could be in the mist on this road?
The big fog is I have the note.
He does not even appear out of the fog.
He just climbs up on the back of the truck.
It's such a missed opportunity.
He's been riding with him.
For a man that walks like Boris Karloff's Frankenstein, he is the fastest human
being that's ever existed. Super fast, super agile. Yeah. Yeah. He is fighting
them on the back of the truck. I think you'd hear the clattering from inside. I'm not no truck person.
You used to have a truck. Would you have heard it if a serial killer was killing me in the in the bed?
Yes, I feel like I would have felt it if nothing else in this. Yeah, it rips the throat out of the driver. Yeah. Which Rachel immediately
just takes over driving? Yeah. She just opens a door and kicks him out. Yeah. Like she's done it before.
Yeah. She drives just some crazy driving to get him to fall off the roof. I love that he doesn't move on a car is heading for him. It's actually extremely stupid. Why would he?
It doesn't need to.
Yeah, so they hit him, she hits him with the truck.
Yeah.
And then, Michael gets shot by the cops who have shown up?
And then he falls into like a sinkhole.
I guess.
The infrastructure here in Haddonfield really sucks. Okay so were you under the impression
her parents were dead because I sure was? Because Dr. Luma's at one point, because
she's like I just want to go home and he's like I've just been to your
house you can't go there. Yeah yeah yeah but he can't you can't go there because the dog's dead and your pictures were d. the dog. the dog. the dog. the dog the dog the dog the dog the dog the dog the dog the dog th. th. Michael Myers knows where you live. I guess.
Anyway, I just thought they were dead.
But now that he's definitely 100% dead, you never have to worry about this again.
There'll never be another Michael Myers so you can go home and have a bath.
What happens that?
And then it's the end of the movie.
Nothing else happens. Well, mom goes up to give a bath to Jamie. Yep. And then Jamie puts on a mask and steps her mom and sits her.
Why did she?
Or steps are foster mom, or step mom, whatever.
Why did she do this?
I remember this ending when it happened.
I was like, oh, right.
I think you know why she did this.
Because of her memories.
She gets that murder blood. That's why I just am picking grapes everywhere I go, because of my ancestors.
That's why I've just been colonizing countries that are not my own.
I'm British as shit, dog.
That's why you've been watching so much line of duty again. Nice one mate. Oh, what the fuck? She's the murderer now.
Donoplazence freaks out and I love him for it because he's actually acting and God bless him. He's great. He's the murderer now and Donald Pleasant's freaks out and I love him
for it because he's actually acting and God bless him. He's great. Yeah and
then my last note is just why though? Why though? Yeah. Because she's in the
next movie too isn't she? Quick reveal I started watching Halloween 5.
I saw that on your Shutter account. So I started watching Halloween 5 as you saw on the sutter account. And I could only get through so much th. th. th. the the the th. the the the the the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. the. I. I. I. I. the the the the the. I. the. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. you saw on the Shutter account. And I could only get through so much of it, but like, it's definitely like Bride of Frankenstein
where you find out that Frankenstein didn't burn to death in the, spoiler alert, didn't burn
to death in the windmill at the end of it and he's just been crawling through a tunnel and he does
all this. And it's like, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why, why is this movie, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, is this movie, is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie, why is this movie? Why do we have to keep doing this? Is Jamie the Killer in the next movie?
Michael's the Killer again.
Oh, what's Jamie doing?
She's like in a hospital and Lumas is trying to make her better.
Oh God, stay out of it, Lumas.
Retire or die or whatever your colleague said.
He wasn't wrong.
No.
You're a bad doctor doctor.. Yeah. Katie. Alan. Let's rate this movie.
That was my Dr. Lumis.
It wasn't very good.
When did you go first, since you love it so much?
It sucks.
It sucks so bad.
I love the opening credits and then beyond that it's a turd.
This movie is a three.
Like, I get it. I get why people like it because it's like visiting with an old friend.
It's Michael Myers.
Your friend has grown a mullet and looks like he's wearing a tortilla.
But it's just, it's trash. The story sucks.
I've seen people say that like, this is their favorite one.
What? It's like one and four and it's like, this is their favorite one. What?
It's like one and four and it's like, I don't even understand anything.
No.
It's one, three, and then maybe some other ones.
I don't know that I've seen five through...
Six goes off the fucking rails because it brings like a cult into it, the cult of thorn.
Okay, that sounds fun. And Michael is like a minion of Satan.
It's ridiculous.
But yeah, so.
How far does it go?
Till you get to H2O?
Yeah, and then Resurrection and...
I mean, is H20 number seven?
And then Resurrection is eight. And then to Rab Zambis and... So I'm just missing five, six, seven. I'm. I. I. I, and th, and th, and th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, a thi, a thi, a thi, a thi, a thi, a thi, a thi, a thi, a thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, a thi, a thi, a Resurrection is 8, and then to Rab Zambi's and...
So I'm just missing 567. I think so. Yeah, well get on it. I guess. What did you think of
this movie? How much did you love it? I hated it. It's almost worse that it's trying to recapture that magic of the original. And doing it in such a like clumsy, clumsy and just not scary, not tense, nothing from the original
movie that makes a good is good in this. Yeah, yeah.
If you don't bring Deborah Hill on board, what's the sense? Two. It's a two for me.
Yeah, I hated it. It's mercifully short. Yeah, but I was just mad when it was over.
It's a dumb ending. It's a clunky, dumb ending.
There's just no indication that
she's having these nightmares about her uncle and they're scaring her.
Right. Why would she turn into him?
Which on some level I'm okay with
because the whole thing about Michael Myers is there's no rationale for why he does what he does.
Sure.
He's just like this cold killing machine. Yes, but he does not transfer bodies.
Sure, for sure.
Yeah.
But like, and that's why I hate him being related to Lori Strode.
Because like the whole thing is he just saw her at his former house and decided he had
to kill her.
Right. And that's how it's all going to go down.
It's dumb. It's th I I I I I I I I I I I I and that's how it's all going to go down. So it's dumb. It's dumb. I also got totally
fucked up and thought that Corey Feldman was going to be in it, but that's Friday that's. When he's chasing it at the end of that. Yes, I get very confused by the scene of the, I got very mixed up between the scene of the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the're basically the same ending. Yeah. And pretty close chronologically, I think, too.
I don't know which is first.
Yeah.
Uh, yeah.
Dumb, dugat dumb.
So dumb.
You know what's not dumb?
What?
I love them?
We have the nicest Patrions.
They're so nice.

Yeah, using their brain.
I'm not sure which one it is.
Using.

Probably use in their brain.

Is this our... Oh my god, you know what I just realized? We've missed our 400 episode. That is so fucking on brand for us. So us. Fl. Fuck. We did haunt for 400.

Sure.
All right, I'll take that.
If anything, this episode would be our anniversary episode.
No.
We did Halloween 4 for or no
Next episode will be our anniversary episode. It'll be eight years. What are we gonna do? I don't know eat cake. Oh, I meant the movie. You really just didn't want to look at your notes up, did you?

I gotta take notes.
I gotta take notes.
I always take notes.
I'm a note guy.
Yeah, I am these days, too.
Oh, yeah, I remember those when you weren't taking notes.
It was so funny. I didn't like to take to take to take to take to take. to take. to take. to take. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. I. I. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. But there was a lot of fun of you going, I don't know, did that happen?
I don't know what I was, I was having a fourth screen experience.
I don't even know four screens.
I just look at the microwave.
So we're gonna do the new Hellraiser movies.
You all ask for it, we give you what you want. I was told that it has a possibly coherent plot.
Uh, me.
Well, that got my hopes up.
That got my hopes up.
I do think that there is a stark lack of fucking in a pair of jeans.
Do I like that or do I hate it?
