Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi Alan. Hey Katie. That was refreshing. How are you? How are you? I'm fine. How are you? Good.
Starting point is 00:00:12 Good. Good. Good. Good. to get my hand on right. to be a little week off last week. Got to get my hand on right. Sure. Uh, welcome to all of our new listeners. you? I'm fine. How are you? Good, good. Glad we had a little week off last week. I gotta get my hand on right? Sure. Welcome to all of our new listeners, which is wild to say. It is
Starting point is 00:00:32 wild to say. Welcome and we're glad you're here. Also, can I get a breaking news update? Do-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo. I love that smooth jazz ending. I saw Tom Savini last week. What? Yeah. How is he? I don't know. I didn't talk to Tom Savinie. I don't say hello if I'm on foot.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Yes. Yeah. But I was in a car. Dr. Savini. Just puttering around on the sidewalk. Hey, I love that he's out there. For our new listeners, Master of Horror, Tom Savini is my one block up, one block over neighbor, which may lead you to believe I live in a nice neighborhood. I do not. You live in a fine neighborhood. It's a fine. It's fine.
Starting point is 00:01:20 Two eyes. It's fine. Fine. Anyway, he seemed fine. He seemed fine. Three eyes. Fine. Fine. Yeah. What are we here to talk about this week, Katie? We're back to the Wanniverse. And we're back with the Bloom House. The Bloom House. To talk about the this year movie, Megan. Methregan. Methregan. Methregan. Methregan. Our second Allison Williams joint. Our second Akela Cooper joint, the writer of this movie. Oh, okay. Also wrote malignant. Oh, which is why I think these movies are better than all of the other things that James Wan touch is because. they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi their their their their their to to their their their their their their their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. to. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. th. the. the. thi. Oh, okay. Also wrote malignant. Oh. Which is why I think these movies are better than all the other things that James Wan touch because
Starting point is 00:02:06 they were written by a woman. Okay. Okay. I think you got that Cooper touch. Yeah. Okay. Also I think this is pretty good movie. Spoiler. Spoiler. You watch it on Pecoc? I did. You get any ads? Not that I remember. Okay. No, you? Yeah, I got an ad for a new thing that a real house, a new thing that real housewives are doing. And then I got like this really great idea, or at least it seemed like a great idea at the time, to do a feature film where they go to a remote island in the South Pacific, but then they end up getting eaten by Godzilla. It's like a 30-second short. No, I mean, he's gonna stalk them for a while. Okay. It's not just stomping Godzilla.
Starting point is 00:02:52 It's a new smarter Godzilla. New smarter, more, more stalker, yeah, he's more malicious. And more delicious. And so are those housewives. I'm sure. Shomping away Who is a housewives? I have never watched a single second of that show me either. If there was a real housewives of Pittsburgh, I would watch it? Wasn't that just dance moms? Oh, yeah, I guess so. I didn't watch that? No, you didn't watch. That lady's in jail, isn't she? I think so. Great.
Starting point is 00:03:27 I feel like every season of real housewives has someone go to jail at the end of it. Yeah, they commit a lot of fraud, is my understanding. Yeah. And we get notified pretty often that like, some actor in a movie we've done is now a real housewife. Yes, that is exciting whenever we find that out. We're always like, wow, even though we don't watch those and don't know anything about them. It's like our friend got rich. Yeah. We knew her back when. I knew them when. When she was in wrong turn with a lies a duchequeu.
Starting point is 00:03:57 Ah, Mithregan. Mithregan starts with a dead dog commercial, which is very funny. I thought it was very funny as well. It's about how the jingle is about how your dog is going to die and leave you alone, but what if you had a friend that never died? What if you had a Furby that you could hang out with instead of having a beak and teeth? Those people teeth, those teeny little little little little little on the pets are so upsetting. Why would you do that? I don't know. Except to be funny. It's except to be funny. I think this movie's actually very funny. Yeah. Yeah, like it took a second. I actually joined the dead dog commercial. I was like, oh, this is a comedy. Yeah. This is not going to be a serious, Wanterverse movie. No, there will be no warn the the the the the the the the th th th the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thus thus thus thus thus thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi to be thi to be funny is to be funny is to be funny is to be funny is to be funny is to be funny is to be funny is to be funny is to be funny is to be funny is to be funny thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thus thus thus thus thus thus thus thus thus thus thus thus thus thus. thi. thi. thi. thi. the the to be funny. to be funny. the to be funny. to be funny. to be funny. to be funny. to be funny. thi thi thi. Thank God. Praise him with great praise. Praise him with all the
Starting point is 00:04:46 praise of your hearts. Yeah, Dead Dog Song is Dece. This is being watched on a tablet, I think. Yeah, and then it like zooms out to the interior of a car with arguing parents and a sad daughter. Whenever a horror movie starts with arguing parents and a sad daughter, I feel like the car's gonna crash. Sure, someone's gonna die. It's like a condemnation of parents who argue. Yeah, you probably deserve to die is what it's saying. Also those who limit screen time because they're like, I thought we were gonna limit screen time to 30 minutes a day. Limiting screen time I'm sorry. I never had screen time limited and look at me now I the their their their their their their th. I th. I th. I their th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I never had screen time limited and look at me now I do a horror movie podcast. The only limiting I had was you're sitting too close to the television. Yeah and then you'd move back for like a foot and then you'd
Starting point is 00:05:34 be like fuck it I can't see. So yeah they they stop in the middle of the road because they're arguing and they have a conversation and was like well just just wait they plow the roads that that's that's that's that's that's th. that's th. th. th. th. th. th really really really really really really really really really really really really really th. It's th. It's th really th really th really th really th really th really th really th really th. I'm thi thi. I's thi. I'm the the the the the they. I's they. I'll they. I'll they. I'll they. I'll they. I's they. I's the the the the they. I they. they. I they. I they. I the the they. I they. I the they. I's the the they. I's th. I's th. I's th. I'll thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. thi. the. te. te. the. the. they. they. their. their their arguing and they have a conversation and was like, well, just wait till they plow the roads out. Well, when do you think that's going to happen? It's not really hard. Yeah. And when it happens is exactly now when the plow comes and crushes this family. The snow truck does clear the road. Yeah, it crushes the family being crushed by a snowplow.
Starting point is 00:06:06 Oh. Mmm, what was that movie called? Oh, George C. Scott? Jesus Christ. The Changeling. The changeling. No, because there's nothing Changeling about that. No, I never would have come up with that. I was thinking about the beginning of the descent when they get into the car accident
Starting point is 00:06:24 and the pole goes through their heads. I was driving behind a pickup truck the other day and I took a photo of the pickup truck so the one I inevitably died from all the lumber that was about to fall out of this pickup truck I would have photographic proof of what killed me. That's good though. Yeah. But they'd be like oh he was using his his his his his the phone using his the phone using his the phone using his the phone using his the phone using his the phone using his the phone using his the phone using his the phone using his the phone using his the phone using his the phone using his phone using his phone the phone the phone the phone the phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone. He's using his phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone phone. he the phone. he the phone. he the phone. he the phone. He's the phone. He's the phone. He's using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using using his the phone using his the phone using his phone using his phone. he's using his phone. he was using his phone. he was using his phone. he was using his phone. he was using his phone. he was using his phone. he was using his phone. he was using his phone. he was using his phone. he was using his phone. he the phone. he the phoneed by my own petard. So we see the accident and then we cut to Allison Williams in her lab. It's funky. Funky. Take that Funko. Oh yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I don't know what I don't really get behind those. But I think I own one Funko pop. What is it? Slimer. Oh, nice. Yeah, kind of on brand.
Starting point is 00:07:09 Yeah. They are testing a prototype of a robot person, baby, woman, child. What's the new feature that they got for this robot baby child? A silicone face? Yeah, skin mask, which is apparently very expensive. And looks kind of like the babies, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind th, kind th, kind th, kind, kind, kind of, kind of, kind of, kind th, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, kind, th, th, th, th, the babies, th like, th like, the babies like, th like, th like, th like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th like, like, like, like, like, th like, like, th like, like, like, thi thi thi thi thi thi thi baby child. A silicone face? Yeah, skin mask, which is apparently very expensive. And it looks kind of like the babies from Happy Death Day to Me. Oh yeah, Happy Death Day to Me. Yeah, I do love that baby though. Yeah, yeah, Bayside babies or whatever they're called. They're so good. Allison Williams is being a real bitch about something, you know. She plays a real bitch real good. You know what
Starting point is 00:07:49 I mean? Is it just like the the the Nepo babyness of her? Is it like what what is it that brings that across so well do you think? I don't know but she really does it. Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. She grew up rich you yeah. And she has like a real strong jaw line too, like, like, like, she sets her jaw and you're like, okay, all right, okay. It allows her to look more stern. Yeah, exactly, exactly. I also thought, oh man, her dad's such a piece of shit. And then I remember that's Matt Lauer, not Brian Williams just did all thiaugh for lying about the news, like saying he was in a firefight or something that he was not at all involved in. That's like, I'll let that grow. Oh yeah, you're not locking women in your office with a secret lock that you have hidden
Starting point is 00:08:31 under your desk. No, that's not happening. Thanks, Matt Lauer. So what's Brian Williams doing these days? The news somewhere else. Yeah, yeah. Making it up somewhere else. He's like, I am a psychic. They have invented this AI child doll person that has a listening mode that targets the conversational patterns of kids. That's pretty gross. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:02 Also three of them made it. Yeah. Three of them. Well, she, I mean, to be fair, she is the finest engineer who's ever existed. Robotics engineer. I mean, no one has ever been such a good robotics engineer. Queen of robotics. And this is Gemma. Yes. Gemma robots. Can I get this out of the way early on in this episode? Yeah, please. Do you feel like there was like a direct, a direction to her acting that was like, you're autistic. Yes, I can see that very much. Yeah. However, in the third act, she totally forgets about that direction.
Starting point is 00:09:37 Yeah. Like, you don't pick up on cues, like social stuff, you're going gonna be off on that. It's not just because you're a shitty person you're not just a shitty person. Right. No emotional bearing, no no ability to see and read and comfort the emotions of others. Yeah no no understanding that a child may be in mourning needs compassion. My God this poor sweet baby angel. This little girl is so good I thought she was great. I feel like we've did something with her in it but I don't remember. Let's. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No, no emotional the emotional the emotional the emotional the the emotional. No. No. No. No. No. No, no emotional. No, no emotional. No, no emotional. No, no emotional. No, no emotional. No, no emotional. No, no emotional the the the the the emotional emotional. No emotional. No emotional. No emotional. No emotional. No emotional the the the the to be emotional to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be the to be the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to. the the the the the the the the the thi emotional emotional emotional emotional emotional emotional emotional emotional emotional emotional. the th. to be emotional emotional. God, this poor sweet baby angel. This little girl is so good. I thought she was great. I feel like we did something with her in it, but I don't remember. Let's take a look. She looked very, is that Violet, McGraw? She was in the haunting of Hill House, which we could do that you definitely know her from. Yeah. Yeah. Black Widow. that's a marvel isn't it? It is? It is? All right. So they put on the skin mask, it starts melting to the face of the robot. Right, he forgot to
Starting point is 00:10:32 put the trans blarger at and... Which will apparently burn the motherfucker to the ground. And the boss comes down. I love him. He's great. He's also at a Marvel movie. Oh, which one? Jean-Chi. What? The 12 rings or whatever it is? It's like. That's a minor one, huh?
Starting point is 00:10:52 Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's still made a billion dollars. But they all do at this point. What am I? Ao Scott complaining about the Marvel thiahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah? thii? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? the thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? the the the thi. the the thi. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi? thi? thi? thi? thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi who that is. Oh, it's the, it's the New York Times film reviewer who recently stepped down because he's annoyed with Marvel movies. Really? He left his job because he can't do Marvel movies anymore? Just like, of the franchiseization of all cinema at this point.
Starting point is 00:11:17 Okay, I can see that getting frustrating in your day-to-day life. Yeah. I mean, if you're like, how many fast fast furiouses is am I going to have to watch? I don't think I'd ever get tired of watching the fast and the furious is, especially if I was being paid to do it, but okay. Oh, fuck, I forgot that we were going to do nine at some point. Wait, how many are there? Nine? Okay, all right. They're going they drive into space. I can only hope so. So yeah, the boss comes down and he's all,
Starting point is 00:11:47 what do you guys doing? You're not supposed to be doing this? Where's my for my cheap, they want a cheaper version of the dead dog replacement toy. Yes. They needed for under $50, which doesn't seem very cheap to me. No, no. And it seems like that that thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to to to to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thi, thi, the.. the. the. the. the. the thea. thea. thea. tooooooooooooooooooooo, to to that thing does is go gang-gang-gang-gang and fart. Which like, great, but I feel like I could make that. And poops, it poops too.
Starting point is 00:12:08 Yeah, but that's like 1980s level mechanical engineering, right? Sure. I did like that the knockoff one, you could actually feed it and then it would poop. Yeah, that's good. So she shows them, they's they's they's they's they's they's, they's, they's, they's, they's, they's, they's, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're doing a demo for this new robot that's going to be a kid's best friend. And that's when it melts down, of course. And its head explodes. It sure does.
Starting point is 00:12:31 And that boss is like, I need this by 5 o'clock tomorrow. You're all shit-hand. Yeah, he's so agro. Yeah, I like him a lot because he's a boss and an idiot. And you're like, yeah, I get that. Been there. Yeah. So she gets a phone call and has to go pick up her niece. Oh yeah. As she is the chosen guardian in the will of her sister. All I could think of was godmother and I was like, that's not legally binding. No, no. It's not. It's not. It's not. No. No, no. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Been. Been. Been. Been. Been. Been. Been. Been. Been. Been. Been. It's the the th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. It's th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. thi. th. I could think of was Godmother and I was like, that's not legally binding. No, no, it's not. So yes, she goes and picks the child up and who is Katie.
Starting point is 00:13:16 Mm-hmm. Spelled wrong. K-A-T-I-E or bust. Although my therapist has been spelling at KATY on my bills for like 12 years and it really pisses me on. You don't pay them. That's, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, fair enough. How well do you know me? Hello, Caddy. There's no way that kid isn't getting called Caddy constantly. That was like the plot of Mean Girls. So she takes Katie home. And she's like, hey, yeah, I didn't do anything. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to that. Yeah, I that. Yeah, I that. Yeah, I that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, I that, yeah, I that, yeah, yeah, I that, I that kid isn't getting called Caddy constantly. That was like the plot of Mean Girls. So she takes Katie home and she's like,
Starting point is 00:13:48 hey, yeah, I didn't do anything to get ready for this. Yeah, it's unclear how much time she had to pick up and take custody of the child because she has boxes of her stuff. But doesn't seem to really unpack any of it. Yeah. Because in the movie, Katie Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, Katie, that that that that that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that, that's, that's, that's, that's, I that's, I's, I's, I's, I that, I that, I that, I that, I. that, I. that, I. that, I. that, I I, I, I, I. that, I. that, I I I. that, I. that, I. that, I. that, I. that, I. that, I. that, I. that, I the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they. the the the the the the the the th. the th. the the th. it? Yeah. Like because in the movie, Katie is like, later in the movie, she's like, I don't have any toys here. It's like, but why not your house didn't burn down? You know, if your parents die in a plow accident, all of your toys explode.
Starting point is 00:14:16 Whoa. Yeah, it's one of the aldgrass Tyson taught me that. Oh, I'm so glad you learned that from a reliable source. Was he shitty to you on the internet about it? He will be now. Yeah, he's going to find this. Somehow searching his name. Speaking of things that suck, that dog. Speaking of things that suck, that dog. What's funny, is that like, at that, that, that, that, that, monster. And then they show the dog and is like, hey, how are you?
Starting point is 00:14:46 I'm like a little dog. Looks like a dingo. I don't like it. It does try to eat a baby later. Oh, that's not funny. We can't make those jokes. That baby. Yeah, yeah. That poor baby.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Oh, James, we still need to send you something. I'm on it. Did he send you in his dress? Yeah, yeah. Oh, you didn't send him anything? Not yet! I'm waiting for the perfect gift. Okay, great. How's that for an excuse? toys? to the toys? So yeah, she like brings Katie into her house and she's like, I don't have any toys for you to play with and Katie's like, those are toys and she's like, yeah, those aren't playing with toys.
Starting point is 00:15:32 Those are collectibles. Ugh, and you just hate her. Because Katie's a sweet baby angel. She really hits. She hears her crying. Gemma hears Katie crying in her, in the guest room later that night and doesn't go in? Which I think is... Well, she's just going to work it out.
Starting point is 00:15:52 It's going to work it out. Yeah, well, a crying child, as you know as a mother. They just have to work it out. Yeah. And if you leave them to their own devices, I get thatir own devices. They'll listen to Jordan Peterson. Wait, what? Is that a theory of parenting? No, no, no, if you don't like pay attention to your kids,
Starting point is 00:16:14 they're eventually going to start listening to Jordan Pearson. Yeah, they'll become Jordan Peterson. Yeah, I bet no one ever hugged that, mothed that, and you know what, good thing. He doesn't deserve it. So the next day the therapist shows up. Yeah, so quick. She's a real bitch, too. She's great.
Starting point is 00:16:35 She's like, uh, Jem is like, oh, come on in. We were just watching some TV. And she's like, I can see that. TV is not that bad for children. This movie is very sure that screens are bad the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the that. TV is not that bad for children. This movie is very sure that screens are bad for children. And I can't tell if it's being sort of retaliatory against that idea. Like, because parents are so focused on screen time now, that that's a bad thing. But like, I just don't, I don't know, it makes me feel guilty, I guess.
Starting point is 00:17:01 I thought it was more that it was like violent cartoons that they were watching. Yeah, so? Who hasn't? I grew up on Tom and Jerry. Totally. And Popeye and Bugs Bunny. I watched a ton of loony tunes. Yeah, yeah, and they were violent as hell. Daffy duck used to get shot in the face.
Starting point is 00:17:22 I loved that when he would put cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes the face. I loved that. I loved when he would put cigarettes in his mouth and light them all. And then I thought, boy, smoking is cool. Thanks to have me, duck. So maybe it is, oh never mind. Has there ever been a child advocate portrayed in a movie that's not a shitbird? I don't think so and I don't know why that is. Because, like, they have this very tense conversation. She's there to watch their th th. Yeah, th. th. th, th, th, th th th th th th th th th th tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, that that that, that that that that that that, that, that, that, that, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy thi, thi, thi, thi, th th th th th th th th th th th th that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that that, th don't know why that is. Because like, they have this very tense conversation. She's there to watch them, which is also very uncomfortable. I would feel very uncomfortable if someone came to watch me with my child. And she's my child. It's not just a niece that I had to just take in because her mother died. I feel uncomfortable if someone came and watched me address an envelope. Like, they're wrong. th, th,, I'm doing it wrong. Doing it wrong. And so when they walk outside the therapist is like,
Starting point is 00:18:09 oh we need to, we're going to have to make some changes if this is going to work. And it's like, please, like, the idea that a fucking county employee underpaid, overworked, social worker, would look twice at this situation and be like we've th, we th, we th, we th..... thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, and thi, and thi, and thi, and so thi, and so thi, and so thi, and so th. And, the, the feel theeeeeeeeeeeeeat, theeeat, theeeeat, theeeat, and theat, and so, and so, and so, and so like we've got to make changes. Yeah, house currently on fire? No, we're cool. Clean house, running water, food and a TV, yeah fine. Yeah, this is also, isn't this when she's like, yeah, I don't have any toys? And she's like, you want to play with a toy? Yeah, we'll get a toy. And she opens a box, as if no one has, you're a to play. to play. to play. to play. to play. to play. to play. to play. to play. to play. to play. to play. to play? to play? to play? to play? to play? to play? to play? to play? to play? to play? to play? to play? the the the to play the the to play the the to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play to play the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to play? th. toy? toy? toy? toy? toy? toy? toy? toy? toy? toy? toy? to to to to to to th. the? She stabs it. She stabs the box. Why she stab that box? And why'd you have a box cutter next to those boxes that shan't be opened? And then she tells the child that she's playing with the toy wrong.
Starting point is 00:18:52 She's like actually, that's not how you play with it. Well, I, kids don't learn things unless you teach them. Yeah. No, they don't. Yeah, but if you think about it. No, I have. And my kid wouldn't be able to wipe her ass if I didn't teach her. You know what I mean? Wouldn't she though? No. Really, genuinely, no.
Starting point is 00:19:18 Just Lucy, dragon ass around the house. Like a puppy? Like Glenn. That's my cat. So she shows her, Gemma shows Katie checkoff's robot, Bruce. Yes, she, well Katie comes into her her workroom. Yeah. And she's got this picture she drew of like a thing with a bunch of animal heads. Look like demons. That's a tiger, like no the fuck it isn't. Children's art is so fucking funny. But I think this might be one of the only times we've seen it where it's not a harbinger of things to come or an indication of their mental illness. She just like really drew some animals.
Starting point is 00:20:03 No one looked at that painting and went, there's something on fire. Looking at you, Richard Burton. Yeah, so she shows her, after trying to dissect her art, she shows her Bruce the robot. She immediately makes it about her though. Sure. She's like cool drawing. You want to see something I made? It's like, this child, just you have to. This child is kind of shit.
Starting point is 00:20:27 You want to see this robot that I made? Yeah, because she is the finest robotics engineer who ever existed. Here it is. Mm-hmm. Bruce is cool. I'd hang out with Bruce. Yeah, Bruce.
Starting point is 00:20:36 Yeah. I'm surprised that she doesn't take Bruce with her everywhere she goes. I would be in line at Trader Joe's. With Bruce carrying you? I'd be using my hands to bag the groceries, but they'd be his hands, but I would still be doing the hand motions. Oh man, have you ever seen Pacific Rim? You know I haven't. Oh, I don't know. You like big monsters in it and big big robots. I'm not a big fan of robots. Okay, okay. I did like Robocop only because he had that dumpster of an ass.
Starting point is 00:21:12 I can't remember the cheek situation on these robots or not. But there's like a uh, maybe a Charlie Hunnam in it and Idris Elba. He's got to have good cheeks, I'm sure. You mean top cheeks or bottom cheeks? Yes. Upper cheeks or lower cheeks. Anyway, it's very similar of like you have to do the movements to make a thing happen. Got it. Very video gamy. Yeah. So now Jemma's on a mission to make Mithrigan a thing. Yes, she's really ignoring the kid in this robot building montage that we see. The child just disappears for days, weeks, we don't know.
Starting point is 00:21:48 It's all montage. Yeah, it becomes a real Judy situation. Yeah, fucking Judy. Judy Warren. Your parents never loved you. Maybe that's the the Juan touch where you could just abandon a baby like it's a cat and you're a 20-year-old punk. I'll just pour it. I just poured a bunch a bunch a bunch a bunch a bunch a bunch a bunch a bunch a bunch. A the the the the the the the the th. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. t. t. t................................................................................ t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t............ a bunch of food on the floor, it'll be fine. Does James Wan have children, do you think? I'm looking it up. Because there's a, I mean, this movie, again, written by a woman, it's not James Wan. Sure. There's a lot of things that hit me as a parent in this,
Starting point is 00:22:17 in a way Wan movie prior. No, you never worried that your child would be abducted into a universe that has a, a Darth Mall dancing around an open fire pit. No, nor have I ever been frightened by a newsie. Um, I, he does not have any children. Ah, there you go. No, what does that mean? I don't know. So yes, the long montage and they make a Megan. They make a Megan. She, her face, is an adult's face. It's a parody of the Olsen twins as far as I can tell. Yes, it looks strange. It's doing that whole uncanny valley thing that we've talked about a lot on the show where things
Starting point is 00:23:04 are just a little spookier. Sure, yeah. Even the spooky is on her face, her little doll hands were really creeping me out. Especially when she plays the piano with them. I thought that was great. So we see the demo of her pairing with Katie. they have built a whole ass demo room with like windows and okay. Part of the bud she's got to get a whole demo room. Gotta get a demo
Starting point is 00:23:29 room. It's a big room. But in the demo Megan is bonding with her. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yes, she grabs a couple highlighters and a marker and then draws a photo realistic picture of Katie. That's wild. That you can only see after you've spilled water on it. and a marker and then draws a photo realistic picture of Katie. That's wild. That you can only see after you've spilled water on it. How can that be? Is that magic? She's a magishkin.
Starting point is 00:23:53 The boss says, is this more less than a Tesla, which I liked a lot? Less? Less? Less? Depahahs. But we find out later they're selling for 10 grand, which is okay. Much less to the Tesla. Yeah, I would assume. It's most of also my carola. Yeah, but you'd turn in that carol, for a Megan doll, wouldn't you?
Starting point is 00:24:13 Hell, no. No? What if you could write it to work? I just feel like I'm going to be really uncomfortable in the libaul in the back of a 12 year old shape robot. Breathing in fumes like, yeah, I'm fine. Let me turn the music up. He also says this is the moment we kicked Hasbro right in the fucking dick. I thought was funny but also what does Hasbro make?
Starting point is 00:24:38 I thought they only made board games. No, they make like action figures and toys and stuff, yeah. I thought they just made like, you know, perfection, a game where you got to put the little pieces in the shapes and the holes. A game that is built for children with anxiety. When you do this wrong, a loud noise will go off and all the toys will fly in the air. Pops up and everybody screams, which I know because my cousin Joe gave it to Lucy for Christmas. She's just like, ah! I was more of a my dog has fleas kind of guy myself. I don't know what that is. That must be from the 70s. If not before. You like, it's a dog with like holes in its back and you have little fleas on pegs that you have to put all over its back if I remember and then you're like... Why do you give the dog flees? Because your dog has fleas? the flees? the fl fl fl fl fl fl fl fl- the f f f f- the f- the f- the f- the f- the f- the f- the f- the f-f. their f-f. It's f-f. It's f-f. It's f-f. It's f-f. It's f-f. It's f-fe. th. th. th. th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's t. I'm t. I'm t. t. t. toge. tog. tog. tog. t tog. togs. togs. togs. th th togs. I'm th. I'm, why do you give the dog fleas? You tip, because your dog has fleas. And then you turn the handle and you have to get all the fleas in before they pop out
Starting point is 00:25:27 and the handles the dog's tail. Okay. Yeah, yeah, my dog has fleece. Yeah, You don't want the fleas to pop out. Uh, maybe. Please, who knows. the dog. I. I. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the. to. the. to. to. the. the. the. to. the. the. to. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the theys. toes. toes. toes. toes. toeslea.easeeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseeaseease.ease. toes. toes. toes. toes. the the the the toy. My favorite toys that are all is hungry hungry hippos because it's a loudest fucking game that's ever existed. Oh yeah I took my kid to Dave and Busters over Christmas break. Yeah. And they have a one like adult-sized hungry hungry hippos where you sit on the thing. You sit on the back of the hippo and you grab the handles and you kind of thrust your hips like you're fucking and it like lifts the head up. Oh, with that kind of adult. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:05 It's pretty great. Horny, horny hippos. Horny, fucking hippos. 78% of a parent's time is spent dishing out the same basic instructions. I believe that with my whole heart. I don't doubt that. And I don't think that that should be replaced by a robot.
Starting point is 00:26:26 So I thought very long and hard about this. If I could get a robot to force my child to brush her teeth without me having to say it 400 times, I would accept that. Okay. Yeah. I just can't fucking do it anymore. I don't wanna. Nobody fucking wants to. You have to. You have to. I like in this movie, then the main thing they can't get Gated to do is flush her turts. Yeah, what makes you think it's turds? It's funnier. She's truffing a deuce and then running out of the bathroom. Yeah. She'll never run out of ways to keep your child occupied so you can spend more time doing the things that matter. And that's when I was like, thunk, oh, because that implies that parenting doesn't matter. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:10 Ouch. And I think you're supposed to feel, like even me as a not parent was like, huh? Yeah, I don't think you're supposed to think Jem is in the right here. No. And as it turns out, no. Also, that's a thing that you say aloud and go, wait, no, I'm wrong. I'm actually wrong about that. I'm sorry. But when her colleague, I refer to her only as girl robot maker and boy robot maker. I don't know what their name's on. She's like, do you, I don't know, do we, we should probably rethink this?
Starting point is 00:27:45 And Jemma's like, no, fuck you. She's all right. She's not my child. Well, yes, but. Perfect. I have a note here that says Megan is already going rogue, but I don't remember what she's done first to make me think she's going rogue. So they thought she was turned off and Jemma says something about
Starting point is 00:28:06 Katie's parents death and she's like what happened to Katie's parents like I thought she was turned off and she's like her eyes are moving like she was reading I don't have the framework to talk about death Who does really I mean, no. It's not easy. No, it's not easy. No? Even as an almost 50 year old? to tho the the they the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the th. the the they they they they they they they they they they they they. they. they. they's they's they's they's they's they. to to their their their their they. their their their their their they's they's their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their they. they. they. they. they. Katie. Katie. Katie. Katie. they. they. Katie's they. they. Katie's to to th. to they. to they. to they. they. they. they. they. they's they's their their their to talk about death. Who does, really? I mean, no. It's not easy. No. Even as an almost 50-year-old man, it's not easy. No. No.
Starting point is 00:28:34 That was the death of fun right there. Should we talk about it? So, she takes Megan and Katie home. And they're like buds. They're just total best buds at this point. Best buds. Yeah. And the next day, Katie's playing with her bow and arrow?
Starting point is 00:28:54 Yes. And she loses an arrow. Yeah. Which Megan finds by zeroing in on the shaft. Yes, she's like, Katie holds it up in the air. She's like, Megan, find the other one. And she like, does like a, like a terminator thing to find it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:10 There's some beeps and boops and boarps. Beeps and boops. She finds it through the hole in the fence that the dog keeps, what you think isthat doll is going to get shaken like a rag doll? The dog grabs Katie, or grabs Mithrigan by the head and shakes her by the head. She sure does. And I shouldn't be laughing, but it was pretty funny. I think a doll gets shaken by a dog is pretty funny.
Starting point is 00:29:38 Katie sticks her arm through the hole to get the doll back and gets bit. Here's a weird thing. thiiiiiiiiiiii thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thatatatatatatatheatathing thathing thathing thathea. thathing thathing that's that's that's thathing thathing thathing thathing thathing to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to c. to c. to c. to c. to c. to c. thathea. th. th. that. that. that. to to to to to to to to to that to to that, that, that, that, that, that, that, the. the. the. the. theee. theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. thee. th Yeah. Here's a weird thing. They're all standing and looking over the fence. Yeah. Katie can't see over the fence. It's like a six-foot fence. Yeah. Megan is like leaning on the fence with her elbow on top. How? How did she get up there?
Starting point is 00:29:57 She's got places the go-go-go-go-gauge her legs. stretch up. It's insane. When Megan comes up and her like hair is all fucked up and tosseled and it's got leaves in it and she's just like robo glaring over the fence at the neighbor who other than being a shitty dog mom seems fine. I guess I don't know. I mean getting defensive when your dog bites a child I think is probably not great. No, not a good look. Not a good look. And the whole thing of like, I'm really sad, my dog's not here, and I leave it tied up in the driveway. Those two things, I don't know if they overlap too much. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think they do a great job with Mithrigan's face. I can't do it. Thank you for trying. Mthreagan. Mthregan.
Starting point is 00:30:49 To make her like look withering sometimes? It just look like she glowers. I think she's great. Very expressive. Yeah. Yeah. I couldn't tell what was C.G. So kudos to them.
Starting point is 00:31:03 Yeah, exactly. Yeah. As opposed to like the newer Chuckie movie where it was disappointing how much C.G.I was on his face. Have I seen it? I thought we did it on here, didn't we? Oh, with Aubrey Plaza. Yeah. I still liked it though. Yeah, it was fine, but it was just like... It wasn't the same. It was th. It was fine, it. It was fine, it. It was fine, it. It was just, it. It was just, it. It was just, it. It was just, it. It was just, it. It was just, it was just, it. It was just, it was just, it was just, it was just, it, it, it was just, it, it, it was just, it, it was just, it was just, it was just, it was just, it, it, it, it, it, it was just thi. It was just thi. It was just, it, it, it. It was thi. It was th. It was th. It was th. It was th. It was just, it, it, it, it. It was just, it. It was just, it. It was just, it. It was th. It was th. It was th. It was th. It was th. It was just, it, it. It was just, it was just, it was just, it was just, it was just like, it was just like, it was just like, it was just like, it was just like, it was just like, it was just like, it was just like, it was just like, it was just like, it was just like Chuckie is so fucking expressive and just to robe it. I know. I mean the end of this movie is 100% a nod to Childs Play 2, the finest film ever made. The first 10 Katie ever gave. The first and truly the best movie we've ever done. Childs Play 2. You're laughing, I'm serious. I know you are. Yeah well don't laugh at me then it's serious business. So the next morning they're supposed
Starting point is 00:31:50 to do the big demonstration and Jemma is like really pressuring Katie into doing it even though she's been bitten by a dog and not feeling well and on antibiotics and stuff. She's like if you don't want to you don't have to. But a lot of people have come from out of town for this this this this th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the their their their their their to. their te. their their te. the the te. the te. the to toe. to to to to to to to to to't want to, you don't have to. But a lot of people have come from out of town for this. Oh, I'm so shitty. And I'm kind of a shit hit. Yes. So, I'll hold this against you if you don't do this. So she does it.
Starting point is 00:32:17 Yeah. He starts sobbing in the middle of it. Because no one has asked her anything about how she is ever, even the therapist. Even the therapist. How are you, Katie? That was rhetorical. I'm moving on. So... Megan is immediately there for her and she's like, hey, what's up, dog? She does this thing of keeping her memories of her mom alive
Starting point is 00:32:46 by recording Katie's voice telling a story, which is not a great story about the mother? Is that a great story at all? It's interesting because I feel like the movie is implying that her parents were bad parents. Sure. Which is kind of fucked up and I don't, like, what is the purpose of that? It kind of implies that all adults suck yeah across the board but like every time we see a photo of her family the dad always has this like real stupid grin on his
Starting point is 00:33:14 face like the implications he's a fucking idiot who deserve to be hit by a snow plow did stop in the middle of a snowy road well yeah sometimes you panic. He didn't panic. He was just pissed at his wife for telling him what to do. Well, yeah. So maybe he was a bad person. Okay, maybe.
Starting point is 00:33:35 And when she sings her a song, Did not like the song, I do not like singing at all. Mm-mm. I'll tell you who did, that woman who's sobbing in the demo. Oh man, it was so good. Yeah. It was so funny. People love it. They love it. They want to order a million of them. Or whatever. Success. Whatever success means. And David, the boss is very excited about those prospects. And immediately, there's corporate espionage going on.
Starting point is 00:34:10 Yes, this guy is dragging documents right from the Megan file to a folder called Kurtz Docs. I mean, I don't know much about computers. I'm not that tech savvy. But I feel like I know better than that. Okay, yeah. Yeah. You can trace where a file went, presumably, to a folder called Kurt's Stocks and then perhaps you would point the finger at Kurt's espionage. Yeah. He called it. He called it Kurt Brit espionage? I tried. I tried. I tried. I tried. He tried. He tried. He tried. Yes. He was. t. t. t. t. to. to. t. t. to. to. t. t. t. t. t. t. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. I. Yeah. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. Yeah. I. I. Yeah. I tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. tried. try. No, it's right. Yes, hang on. You miss every shot you don't take. You know what I mean? You know what I mean? I do. You know what I mean? I do, Wayne Gretzy.
Starting point is 00:34:49 No. What is that short for? Cadthran. Cadbury. Cadbury. Cadbury. Oh. My next note says sassily eating a hot dog is t t t t tod tod tod th. th. th. tod th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. the hot. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. to thi. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. She's like, Katie eat your hot dog and she picks up and she's like,
Starting point is 00:35:11 gnah! Which I like a lot. I like that this child has immediately turned into a monster. Yes, well, the only love she's getting is from a robot. Yeah. Yeah. And that's gonna fuck you up. That's gonna fuck you up. That's gonna fuck you up. Which it doesn't though. No. She seems okay. And then we get another visit from the therapist?
Starting point is 00:35:34 Yeah, I think so. And the therapist makes Katie cry. So now Megan's gonna kill the therapist, we assume? She says you made her cry and the therapist says that was not my intention. And she goes, and yet, that's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's what's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that kill the therapist, we assume. She says you made her cry and the therapist says that was not my intention and she goes, and yet that's what happened. Which I like, that's what happened, which I like a whole whole lot. So the therapist walks out and is talking to Jemma and is like, just because you can't, just because you can't, the dog Dewey. Yeah, which is the first is the first is the first is the first is the first is the first is the first is the first is the first is the first. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. thi. thi. thi. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thee. the the the threat. the the. the. theee no, obviously you should. Always, every day. Oh, and Megan did kill the dog Dewey. The mixed-her-neigh dog. Well, I had a common. Someone, I think it's Jemma, says that you need to be spending time around other kids, and then she goes, real kids, and they show Megan, and she's making like a bitch face about it, which I loved. Because she wants her to go to like an adventure school?
Starting point is 00:36:28 Like a non-traditional, like... I'm so glad I didn't have to go to adventure school. I can't... I don't know. Yeah. I mean I hated regular school, so maybe I would have done well at Adventure School. You wouldn't have. You've got a bad attitude. I do have a bad attitude. Especially when I was a kid, good lord. Yeah, sure.
Starting point is 00:36:52 Oh man. So Megan gets to come to Adventure School. She has to stay on the toy table. That shot of her with like the ominous music music like surrounded by teddy bears is so funny. Clowering. Oh it's so good. I just just, whoa. So immediately we meet this shitty kid who's obviously a sociopath. Brandon he really is a little shit isn't he? His mom's like, hey Brandon don't forget to eat your lunch and fuck you mom. Fuck off Holly. That's what he says. His mom also says they say behavioral issues are linked to high IQ, so that makes sense.
Starting point is 00:37:31 Poor Holly. Oh my God. Yeah. It's so weird. So of course Katie gets teamed up with the shitty kid, Brandon. They're going to look for chestnuts, which I guess is part of adventure school. I don't know if I can learn multiplication. You're in fourth grade. Missy was so mad because the lady was, the teacher was like, hey, who loves roasted? Let's go out into the woods and find some. You don't
Starting point is 00:37:58 fucking roasted? They don't come pre-roasted. They don't come pre-roasted. Maybe they had just like hidden bags of them around the adventure school campus. Oh, no, but that's not what happens. They don't find that. No, what happens? Megan shows up and Brandon's like, oh, who's this? What's this?
Starting point is 00:38:21 What do I do with this? And drags her around, and flicks her nose. No, you can't do that. No, a picks her up and runs away and then throws her down and then the stretchest ear that's ever existed happens. So good. Stretching his ear and then you can see the light behind it through it and then it comes off. I thought it was fantastic. I guarantee my ear would not stretch that much. No. No. No. No. No. th. No. th. th. No. th. You th. th. You th. You th. You th. You th. You th th th th th th th th th th thi tho tho tho tho thi thi thi thi thi. No, you thi. No, you thi. You thi. You thi. You thi. I guarantee my ear would not stretch that much. Oh no. I feel like I've got a lot of skin there. Sure.
Starting point is 00:38:51 Sure. No, I don't think. I think it would rip off before then. Well, maybe. Yeah, real brittle ears. Yeah, but you're an old man. That was a small child. Oh, that's a great thing to say to someone right before the turn 49. God damn it! Happy almost birthday, Alan. He will be 49 next week.
Starting point is 00:39:08 Next week? Next week? By the time this comes out? Well, no, no, no, yeah. No, no, no. No, yeah. they-no'n' th-o'n't. kitty of how old she was. 38. I'll be 29. So then there's this great chase scene of Brandon running away from her. How did she chase him? Well first the way she gets
Starting point is 00:39:33 up is so good. She does like almost like a pro wrestler. A kip-up. Yeah. But she does it without the momentum so she's just like back bending into standing which is fucking so scary. Yeah yeah yeah and she says this is the part where you run he starts to run and she drops to all fours and starts running like a dog. Yeah so fucking good. Although not the best use of your body. We're faster on two legs. Well maybe she isn't maybe she saw Dewey do it, the dog. Maybe. And I don't know, she seems pretty quick. She does. It was very funny. I mean, it was very funny. And it was like, this is like not a thing you want to fuck with. No. It had that vibe to her.
Starting point is 00:40:21 Yes. This is where we find out she's actually been built for military use. Oh, like Childs Play 3. Yeah. Oh, is that what I would have said in Charles. It takes place at military camp. It's real, real bad. I don't remember exactly what happens. We can do it sometime when we hate ourselves.
Starting point is 00:40:38 We've been having too much fun. Just wait till next week to to to to to to to to to to to be to be to be to be to be to be to be thiiii thi thi thi that. that. that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that. that's that's that that that that that that that that thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thia. thia. thiauoooooooooooooooooooes that's that's that's that's that? I am shocked you would say that. I thought it was very fun. So Brandon is being chased, he falls off the side of a hill and then gets hit by a truck. Yes. Yes. being taken away on a stretcher and it cuts to Megan in the back seat of a car like she might be in the back of a cop car. Because for a second I was like they arrested that doll. No it's it's Jemma's car. She's like peeking out the window and listening. Yeah. It's very silly and Katie's defending her of course. Yes and then Katie says to her do you think he's in a better place? And Megan goes no th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th. And Megan goes, no?
Starting point is 00:41:27 Which of course I loved. A little atheist doll. Yeah. Which is probably not great for a small child who's just lost her parents, but eh, what's it to do? Because at some point I think, uh, Jemma has said your parents are in a better place. Yeah. But said in a way that's like, you're thia, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, th, thi, yeah, yeah, thi, yeah, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. I mean that's a hard yeah how what do you say to a kid when you don't believe in heaven? Your parents
Starting point is 00:41:53 moved upstate living on a farm. They're running around with other parents. And that guy from past and furious. Oh Paul Walker. Oh upstate with all the other Paul Walker. Good-, Paul Walker. Oh, upstate with all the other Paul Walker. Goodbye, Paul Walker! Boy, I love those movies. So, cut to the neighbor ladies out looking for Dewey, the dog. Yeah. And then she gets Mithregan. She, Methregan, I can't do it. Megan is luring her out there by making the dog sounds. Like the dog is trapped or something. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:31 And the neighbor says to her, what are you? And she says, I've been asking myself that same question. Which I loved. I loved too. It's such a quick line of nothing. She has sentience. A doll with an existential crisis. Yes, same girl, same.
Starting point is 00:42:48 So she pressure washes the neighbor. Yeah, which is great. And then nail guns her? Yeah. And then pressure watches her face off? I think so. Mm-hmm. Then there's a knock at Jemma's door.
Starting point is 00:43:03 Somehow she didn't notice the coroner and 400 cop cars outside her own home. Okay. She's in her own world. Yeah, I guess so. Yeah, robots. Robots. And a very nice cop. Very nice, like, a uniform cop and then a really shitty, inept detective.
Starting point is 00:43:20 He's like, oh, no, I was just saying, you know, you find a lot of bodies. You were at this murder and at that murder, do you think they're connected? No, no, no, no, no, no, just, man, just, yeah. He'll never come back, don't worry. Yeah. So yeah, she's, and, but Jemma is now suspecting that Beth Regan might have something to do with this. Yes. I think it rolls off the tongue. And, what's the thing about her data records and aren't uploading to the cloud server? Yes, so she has a camera in her eyeballs. That's right. And Jemma goes to look at the files that she's uploaded and they're corrupted. Right. Which means that Megan is th th th th th th th th th th th th that Megan is able th th th th that Megan is able tha thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. So thi. thi. thee. So theeeee. theeeeee. theee. theeee. thee. the. the. the. thi the. to look at the files that she's uploaded and they're corrupted. Right.
Starting point is 00:44:05 Which means that Megan is able to corrupt her own data somehow? Yeah. Yeah. So in the middle of the night, Megan sneaks or sneaks up on Jemma and she's like, couldn't sleep, occupational hazard, which is very creepy. Such a weird little child doll baby. There's something about a precocious child that's also very upsetting.. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that's, thi. thi. that's, thi. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the the the the the the the the. Maaa. Megan is thii. Megan is the. Megan is thi. Megan is that's thi. a weird little child doll baby. There's something about a precocious child that's also very upsetting, you know, in a creepy way. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:32 Oh, that's because she's like, she says something to her Elsie, which is her Alexa. And in Elsie's voice, Megan asks Jemma how she feels. Right. Just like, you're not programmed to do that. Yay. Listen, I gotta talk to you guys about this. Get a fucking light switch. Use your goddamn fingers.
Starting point is 00:44:56 You don't need to tell your lights to turn on and off. I find it very upsetting that people do this. What about telling your Google home good night and then listening to the sounds of crickets why as you fall sleep? You do that? Yeah. You say good night to it? Weird. And I say good morning to it in the morning when I want the news. Yep. Alexa, play Alex Chilton by the replacements. So rude. Why? Everybody loves that song. If you don't, you should.
Starting point is 00:45:29 Look, don't have a thing that's voice activated in your home and then invite my voice into your home unless you want to hear Alex Chilton by the replacements, Alexa, on Spotify. Yeah, I mean, it would be like saying, OK, Google play Bastards of young by the replacements. Yeah. I mean, it'd be like that. Don't do it.
Starting point is 00:45:50 Don't you do it on my phone? Anyway, it's trying to do it. It's not trying to do it. Yeah, shut it. Okay, Google. Sub it. It doesn't recognize your voice. Let's try it. So, she's not uploading to the cloud, she's being a creep.
Starting point is 00:46:05 Gemma says Megan, turn off and she says, well, hold on a second. I thought we were having a conversation. Now you realize that she's just totally out of their control. And also, is this just an allegory about teen? Is Megan just growing up to be a shitty teen very quickly? Don't tell me that. You've got it to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to look to to to to to that. You've got it to look forward to. Shut up. I just remember being a teen. I was fucking awful. Oh yeah, me too. Yeah. Yeah. Burned me to the ground. Oh, fuck. So. Yeah. I was really awful because I had no oversight. You know what I mean? Yeah. Just totally reckless. Oh boy. Samseys. Oh brother. Watch your teens man. They'll get th. the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. the thi. Oh, the the the th. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, te. te. te. te. te. te. teat. teat. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. your teens, man. They'll get into some shit. If nothing else, Woods Porn.
Starting point is 00:46:48 Uh, Woods Porn and Punk Rock. Both gonna ruin you. It's a disturbing and delightful combination that has made me the man I am today. Pillars of your life. She says, did you hurt someone? And Megan says, God, I hope not, because if I did, we'd both be in a lot of trouble. Yeah. She's all that's so good.
Starting point is 00:47:11 And this was giving me the orphan vibes at this point. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, man. It was so good, except she wasn't on her knees. With a giant adult-sized hands. Oh, Orphan 2, what a great moving. And then Jemma does a little tricky trick.
Starting point is 00:47:33 She's like, okay, Megan stared at this pen. And when Megan does, she shuts off on her like under chin off switch and turns her off. Yeah, that's a weird place to put it, but okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So she has she has she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she has she she she she has she she she she she she she has she she she has she she she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has th. She has she has th. She has she has she has she has she has she has she has she has. She has. She has. She has. She has. She has. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She has. She has. She has she has th. She has t. She has t. She has t. She has t. She has t. She has t. She has t. She has t. She has t. She has t. She has th. She has th. She has th. it, but okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So she has taken, she has put Megan in the trunk of the car, and Katie is fucking freaking out. And that's when I was like, wow, this little girl's really good because she's just like flipping her shit. Yeah. And Jemma's like, let's just listen to some like, shit, thu, thii's like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thus, thus, like, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th........ that, that, that, that, that, that, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's that's that's that's that's that, th. that like, what, how dare you? Then I got this really dark thought in my head of like,
Starting point is 00:48:11 what if all these people got Megan's? And then just like, those Megan's pick up the things that they do and they just become this like, army. You could just build an army of like white supremacist Megan's. Well, yeah, I mean, isn't that like every time there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's been like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's been like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi's thi, thi's thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th's. Well yeah, I mean, isn't that like every time there's been like a Twitter bot set up to start like generating its own tweets by aggregating what people are tweeting about it immediately becomes like a neo-nazie? Oh good. And like super like it's just like gets all the shit off of Twitter and it's like, oh yeah by the way I'm Jordan Peterson or whatever. He's, he th, he th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, you thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th, th, th, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, oh yeah, by the way, I'm Jordan Peterson or whatever. He's not a neo-Nazi, he's just a piece of shit. It's a piece of shit.
Starting point is 00:48:48 Look, look, here's what it is. All neo-Nazis are pieces of shit, but not all pieces of shit are neo-nazis. It's true. Yeah, don't throw the term around too much. It's for a very specific piece of shit. Yes, strong agree. So, there's a seed where Megan answers Tess the lady developer's phone and talks to Gemma. Yes. Because Tess the lady developer's phone and talks to Jemma. Yes.
Starting point is 00:49:20 Because test comes in and her phone has been used but she didn't use it. Right, it's now the night of the big launch of Megan, where there's going to be like a crowd of people and this is it. And it's getting news hype, it's, you know, it's a really big fucking deal. Yeah, but not enough people. There's a very funny scene where there's only a few chairs and David is flipping out. He said something about it looking like an alcoholic's anonymous meeting rather than. That's what he says, an alcoholic's anonymous meeting. So Gemma has all of a sudden decided that she needs to be empathetic to her niece and she needs her niece to feel her feelings, which I just don't see that twist happening for her.
Starting point is 00:50:06 You don't see that sudden human growth in Jemma? No, I don't. Do you? I mean, she made it into her 30s without having it, so probably not. So a couple of weeks of a doll murdering people probably isn't going to help. They say having kids changes you though. Um, maybe. Yeah. I know. I feel like I'm still largely myself, which is to say a piece of shit. Not a neo-nazzi, though. Just a regular piece of shit. No. No. No. No. I just I want my opposition to be noted. That's all I'm asking. It's been noted. For the record. Um. Drinking 24 ounces of icy light. Don't. Don't. Don't worry. There's another one. tho. Th. Tho. Tho. th. th. th. th. the. there. there. there. the. there. there. there. there. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. I. I. I th. th. th. I th. I th. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I. I th. I. I th. I. I th. I th. I. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I th. I the the the the th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. the record. Um, drinking 24 ounces of icy light. Don't worry.
Starting point is 00:50:48 There's another one of this downstairs for you if you need it. I brought myself to 12s also. Oh, I didn't realize you had a big can too. Yeah. What are you drinking? Looks like it's going to fuck you up, whatever it is. Voodoo Ranger, IPA from New Belgian brewery, it's a 7% alcohol for volume. So this is 14% then? Is that how that works? This is 19 fluid ounces though. 19? Yeah. Wait, yeah. It's a little slimmer than yours. Missing out. On all the warm beer at the bottom of the can. I'm putting it down pretty fast, Alan.
Starting point is 00:51:27 So they hook Megan up to the system to figure out what's going on with her because she's acting weird. Why does the guy robot maker have that big hit and stick anyway? What is the big hit and stick for? It was in an earlier like demo video, he was like pushing her and they're like, she's practically indestructible and he's like hitting her with the big stick. Oh, and she's like adjusting so she doesn't fall down. Exactly, exactly. Like they do with the robots that will eventually kill us from Boston Dynamics. Okay. You ever watched any of those videos where they're like kicking doors down and doing backflips
Starting point is 00:51:57 and stuff and back flips and stuff. Back flips are cool they're cool. They are cool except for the thing when the government puts guns on them and just mows everybody down. No, that part's less cool. They just got them to do gymnastics. I think I'd be really into that. They're gonna kill us. I'm not, I'm not a robot guy.
Starting point is 00:52:14 I'm not, I'm not on board. Yeah, I thought you meant to be with them as if you would let them kill you. I guess I misunderstood. No, I just didn't want them to be creating. Yeah, I used to be really on board for self-driving cars and now I realize that maybe that's a bad idea. Well, it only works if they're all self-driving. Yeah. Well, even the ones that they sometimes just mow down a lot of pedestrians also. It's true. So the guy detaches Megan from the system, she hangs him. So this scene of him, unhooking all the cables, I thought was very, very tense. I thought it really built tension well. I felt like this movie built tension in a way that other James Wan vehicles did not. And I don't, he didn't even direct this. It's. He didn't even direct this. Yeah this this. Yeah this. Yeah. Yeah. He this. He th. He th. He th. He th. He th. He. He. He. He. He th. He. He th. He th. He th. He th. He th. He th. He th. He th. He th. It. It. It. It's. He th. He th. It's. It. It's. It's. It's. It's. I thought it really built tension well. I felt like this movie built tension in a way that other James Wan vehicles did not. And I don't he didn't even direct this, did he? I don't think so. No, I think he may have just produced
Starting point is 00:53:12 it. Yeah, I think this is just him in Bloomhouse. Gotcha. Because he was like, during the process, he's like, OK, OK, OK. What if she ignores the kid for a while? God damn it, James Wann. Why does he love that so much? So yes, it's very good. And when she finally does freak out and like lifts him off the ground by his throat by the wires that he's attached from her. And then when Tess comes over to save him, she punctures a can of gas? Yes, what is that?
Starting point is 00:53:54 What do I do? She's like robot gas? Is it like a lawnmower? do you have to like pull the cord a couple times? Rhinn? And then this very dancy pull the cord a couple times? Right! Mimim! Start up your Megan? And then this very dancing song starts and she explodes the room. Yes, the lab blows up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:13 And then she is in the hallway. Yeah. And she starts, she runs into, um, David. She does this like dance move, kind of like a sexy dance. Is that sexy dancing? I don't know much about dancing. I think it's just dancing. It's like a Tick-Tock dance.
Starting point is 00:54:28 That's, okay, those aren't sexy, they're just dancing. I think they're just dancing. I do not find them to be harassing. I live in the town where footlo a machete, which I fucking adored. It's very funny because there would definitely be a spring at the end of that thing because that's how they're connected to them. But for... Why would they make her strong as hell though? Because it's a robot. Yeah, but like... What if she needs to lift a car off that kid? I though that that's what moms were supposed to do. Exactly, but moms are just saving their time so they can live their real lives
Starting point is 00:55:06 and not these stupid child raising lives. It makes me feel bad for being a working mom. That's what it is. That's where it hits me. Oh, because when you tell, when you have a baby, not so much now that she's in school, but when you have your baby? You're like the daycare, you know? I don't know, I left her cart in a cigarettes. She should be fine. Oh, fuck, where's the baby?
Starting point is 00:55:32 And so she's like, she paper cutters David right in front of Kurt. Kurt. And then sets up this thing to Kurt. She's like, I didn't kill anyone, Kurt. You did. Yeah, and then kills Kurt. Cuts his throat. Yeah. So she comes up in like a blood spattered elevator,
Starting point is 00:55:52 which I think is fantastic. And then she's loose on the streets. And she steals a sports car. I love her. Oh my god, it's so funny. So she gets back into the house? And this is when she's playing toy soldiers on the piano? Yes, and... Jemma's like, Elsie, turn on the hall lights.
Starting point is 00:56:20 I'm sorry, are your fingers broken? Do you no longer have a switch? You're in the hall. That makes me insane. My sister and brother-in-law have their lights hooked up to a thing, so whenever I stay there, I'm like, guess I'm just doing stuff in the dark. Because I don't know how to turn them on. So they really don't have switches? They do, but I just don't want to mess them because I don't know if it'll fuck up their system. I'm sorry, if you're in someone's house and they have light switches, you touch them.
Starting point is 00:56:46 That's why you do that. You just run the house and touch all my light switches. Trying to make sure they work. Just you can't rely on your computer to do everything. Yeah. It's true. It's true. I agree. I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I. It's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's. I that. I just, it's, it's, it's. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. It, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's that. It's that. It's that. It's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's thatthat they chose Toy Soldiers to be the song that she's playing on the Pianni. Yeah. I very much enjoyed that. And then I have the note, Megan laying the emotional smackdown. Yeah, she says something like, this is actually maybe lend some credence to your idea that she's perhaps just a parable for a teenager, or an allegory for a teenager or whatever, because she says something like, you installed a learning model, you couldn't comprehend, hoping I would figure it out on my own. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:35 Which sounds very, I mean, in tech talk, but a very like thing a teenager would say, you know. I'm not going to let you do the same to Katie. I'm going to be there with her every step of the way. Yeah, yeah. So they have a big old fight. Let me focus on Katie so you can focus on the things that matter to you, which is like then Jemma's like, oh I, Katie matters to me. It's like, fuck off. I do like that she grabs a hedge trimmer trch. It's trd. It's trimmer. It's trimmer. It's trimmer. It's trimmer. trimm. trimm. trimm. trim. the jump, you were wrong in this situation. Absolutely. I do like that she grabs a hedge trimmer to attack. And she pins Jemma down, and it's always that thing of dolls. Like, you know how much I love the child's play movies, but you're like, how heavy are you? this is like, even with a, I don't know, I feel like I could just stand up.
Starting point is 00:58:25 Sure. How heavy could it be? You put her in the trunk. Yeah, I don't know. How much force can Megan create? Can Megan make herself so large that even she can't lift herself? What? Think about it, won't you?
Starting point is 00:58:42 It's Danzig, is that you? Or is that Henry Rollins? I can't remember. Who's the think about it, won't you? If you could see the you that I'd see. It hits her with a hedge trumer in the face, splits her skull. It takes a bunch of her hair all. She looks great, and this is where it turns into into into into into into into into the factory at the end. I love it so much. Also, seems like these dolls shorting out when they get a little bit of water on them
Starting point is 00:59:09 makes for not a great toy. It's true. Especially in the Pacific Northwest. That's all I'm saying. So, uh, Katie comes in. Yeah. And she's like, you think she's just regular old Katie, but no, she got the Bruce gloves on.
Starting point is 00:59:29 Yes, and what does she do to Megan? She fucks her up. What's her in half? She rips her in half and then Megan is army crawling forward, which also happens in child's slay too. Oh, I love it. Yeah. I do.
Starting point is 00:59:46 And the faceless robot fighting her is very good because her whole silicon face has come off and so she's just this like metal, I don't know, looking like the end of a dumbbell or something. Yeah. And she's got, uh, Gemma wants to steal the brain, the like micro brain that's right in the four of the now exposed head, and Katie stabs it with a screwdriver. Yeah. And so we think everything's fine. Who called the police? The police are suddenly there.
Starting point is 01:00:19 Who called them? Oh, it's suburbia. They just come around every once a week gets hit by the cops. I didn't know that. Good to know. the, who?? the the police? the police? the police? th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th th th th th th thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. that. that. that's thi that's that's that's that's that's right that's right that's right that's right that's right that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. their their thi. the their the the thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. that's right, a while. Every house once a week gets hit by the cops. I didn't know that. Good to know. Or maybe they were showing up to arrest Jemma for the murder of her neighbor who can say. Or that little kid. Or Jemma is culpable in all these murders. Jemma took lives. Yeah. David, Kurt. Yes. Poor David thou. He just wanted to make up make some money. the money. the murder. the murder. the murder. the murder. the murder. the murder. the murder. the murder. the murder. the murder. the murder. the murder. the murder. the murder. the murder. the murder. the murder. So, you know what, it's the other robot makers that call the police because they get out of the police cars. Oh, that's right. That's right. So we think everything's fine and then the LSEI turns on. Starting point is 01:01:26 Yeah, a little footrest action. I fucking love Waterworks. Anyway, I hadn't seen a movie in like, since pre-pandemic in the theater, yeah, it was the first one I'd seen. I was just mesmerized. And I loved it. Starting point is 01:02:35 Yeah. . Also loves child's play too. I mean just one is great, but child's play two is better Getting tou toucester did you love it? Did you love it? Did you love it? Because I love it? I'm gonna give it a nine. I super I just super enjoyed it. I had such a great time That is fantastic. Yeah Kitty because I watched that trailer and I was like this gonna be trash. No one likes it when I'm angry. No, because you just get scary. Someone said something about my voice gets to a register that only dogs can hear. Yeah. That one's stoned a little.
Starting point is 01:03:18 Ouch. I just get dead angry. That's right, everybody just like thinks maybe they should go to their room and be quiet for a while. I'm gonna turn this podcast around. Actually, I think you just don't get angry that often. No, not on the show. No, for sure. And I ar-l, all the time. I mean, just you have to stop. You have to stop. that's you th you just th, you just th, you just tho, you just, you just, you just, you just, you just, you th, you th, you th, you th, you th, th, th, th, th, th, th, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thi, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I'm just, tho, tho, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. to stop. It's true. You know something that's not going to make you angry?
Starting point is 01:03:47 Wait, can I say one more thing? Yeah, please. Speaking of sequels and speaking of Akila Cooper, apparently she also wrote the nun too. No. So I don't know, I think we probably have to do it at some point. Is it called back in the habit? I mean, that movie where it is absolutely beautiful. I had friends in college who kept their like on-demand queued up to that scene where Lauren Hill sings that song and they would just get drunk and watch it. God, man, if you have not listened to the miseducation of Lauren Hill in a while,
Starting point is 01:04:19 do yourself a fucking favor. Yeah, but anyway, what I was trying to get to... I like that you keep trying to change the subject and I just keep bringing it back around. I gotta get to these messages from our patrons. Okay, give me a message from a patron. These kind, generous souls have reached out and return messages that I've sent to them. Thank, Stone, Stoned Banana. Stone Banana. Many of the listeners of Puzzle in a Thunderstorm and Cognitive Dissonance Podcast know the name.
Starting point is 01:04:53 As far as a message, I'm here because of Eli's enthusiasm during your guest appearance on God-awful movies. Well, thank you for being here. And thank you, Eli for the enthusiasm. That was such a great experience. Oh my gosh, I had so much much to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th being here. And thank you, Eli, for the enthusiasm. That was such a great experience. Oh my gosh, I had so much fun. Yeah, yeah. I finally listened to it and I was like, oh, we did okay.
Starting point is 01:05:11 We did really well. We did really well. We did really well. Rob was like telling me the parts you that were funny. And I was like, thanks, no, that's good. Eli is really funny, no, you know, he's funny too. And so, yeah, Alan, he's the best. It's just, yeah, no, I agree. That's very funny because I listened to it. I was like, my Katie's so fucking funny.
Starting point is 01:05:34 No, you're so fucking fun. Oh, no, you are. This is a message from another patron. We've gotten a bunch recently, so we're going to be doubling up on episodes. Uh, double up. Alan Akady, it's Alexandra, aka Vamp Addict 88 from Twitter and Instagram. Hi, Alexandra. Twitter will soon have to change because of technology reasons. Just know that for...
Starting point is 01:05:57 Put that in your notes. I cannot believe it's taken me this long to be a patron for you guys. I am stoke to listen to the extra hilarity goodness. Ever since I started my job cleaning houses in 2017, you too have been a big part of my life and I cannot imagine being without. I was going to say she's been with us a very long time. And we tried to hire her as an intern at one point then we got scared about letting someone else do our social media. It's a damn good thing that I'm alone in most of my client's houses because I literally make all the noises out loud while listening to you guys.
Starting point is 01:06:33 Usually laughing, cackling, snorting, gaffying, sometimes hissing, groaning, or fake weeping, or just staring at a wall or at someone's cat and simply say after a long, unblinking pause of shock fear. No. You guys serve it all. Not just your dad jokes and amazing puns. You're welcome. That's that one.
Starting point is 01:06:56 But your friendship shines through, your words in every episode and I as well as many other listeners can tell how much you love each other. We really do. We do. Thank you guys for everything that you've done for us and as my boyfriend and I tell each other every day. You're the best. That's so sweet for her and for them.
Starting point is 01:07:19 Yeah. If you want to follow her on Twitter, her new handle is Space Vamp 88, Space Vamp 88, and she does live tweeting of the movies as she's watching them for our show. So please, please go follow her at Space Vamp 88 and get her thoughts on these movies. I think she used today, the day that we're recording, she did Megan. Oh great. So make sure to go check that out. I will. And Katie. Alan. It's an hour and nine minutes into this episode.
Starting point is 01:07:50 We are long in the tooth. That's not what that means. We're a long-winded. I love it. Just use anything. My beard is so long. Yep, you could find us on the internet. Thank you to all the new Patrons. Yeah, Patreon.com back-sashwerewulf ambulance. You can join us on our Discord. Look at our link tree for that if you find us on Twitter or Instagram. We are at Wearbulance and at Weref Ambulance.
Starting point is 01:08:14 You got it. Somebody recently bought a sweatshirt from our tea. dedication. Yeah, because that's all I mean you're gonna wear that a lot. You're gonna wear that a lot. Yeah, I hope it's comfy. I was looking at the profile of one of our friends of the show Roll and Blackburn and he's wearing a Weirolf Ambulance t-shirt and his profile picture on Twitter. Starting point is 01:08:53 Uh, why don't we do a movie that you chose from looking at the mood for some Charles Band. Yeah, you want to banding him about. Just want to roll around in Charles Band's brain, you know, I want to open it up and just see what he's doing in there. So I chose, I didn't realize it was from 1994. I feel like it would have been better if it had been earlier, but I chose the film, shrunken heads. You've seen it, you love it, you love it, you th, you th, you th, you seen it. Everyone knows about it. I'm sorry, but if you look at the stills on Google Images, there's no way you don't want to watch this movie. So please, please watch shrunken heads. Or don't, it's fine. Do yourself of a favor before you watch the movie. Read up on Papa Doc in Haiti and realize how fucked up this movie is before you get into it. I cannot wait for you to tell me about it.
Starting point is 01:09:50 So thank you for listening to another episode of Warwulf Ambulance. Bye-bye. Spicy? I think we gotta do something new. All right. Oh, wow. Axe, I'm dead rules.
