Hello and welcome to another episode of WhereWulf Ambulance.
I'm Katie and I'm here with my friend Alan. Hi Alan.
Oh, hey Katie. Oh, hey. I'm just finishing up this meal.
I made some, I'm Long Pig. Long pig. Yeah, I'm celebrating Lamb's Day. Lams day. Oh, hey. I'm just finishing up this meal. Amea. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to th. to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the to. to. to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the to. the the the the the the the th. th. the. to. the. the. th. the. to. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the some long pig. Long pig. Yeah I'm celebrating
Lambs Day. Lamb's Day. What is Lamb's Day? Oh it's a my family tradition. We're
here to talk about the movie we are. Lambs Day is the thing that they're
celebrating when they're eating people. I know but they never tell you what Lams Day is. It's the day that commemorates the day that the girl killed her mother.
Spoilers.
That was her mother.
Hey, we're going to spoil this movie.
Yeah, you guys should watch this movie before it's on the Netflix.
She killed her mother?
Well, yeah, I think so.
It is on Netflix. slices off of mom. She was raw. In modern lamb days we cook the lamb. That's the best way to have long pig is raw. Did they use the phrase long pig? No, but it's
my favorite thing from a cannibal movie. I, I, yeah. So this is a 2013 insane
newari, cannibal, horror, family drama, slight forensics. Yeah.
It's a...
It's got it all.
Yeah.
And saying that it makes it sound like it's a little bit all over the place, but it's cohesive.
It's a tight story.
It's very succinct.
It's a remake of a Mexican film of the same name that came out a couple years before it.
Can you say it in Spanish yet?
Yeah, we are what we are? In Spanish. One thing about this movie is that I really sort of wish that I hadn't read the description or talked to you about it prior, like the Netflix description. It tells you that they're cannibals.
Okay. But I feel like the movie spends a lot of time setting up like a very long period of like what's going on?
What is this family doing? What is happening here? Yeah, but it's like Netflix? You just fucking tole thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi? thi. thi? thi? thi? th. th. th. the the the the movie. the movie. the the the the the the the their their their their their? their? their? their. It's, their. It's, their. their? th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. te. te. te. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tha. tha. they're going to eat that lady, you know? Yeah. Yeah. I didn't watch the trailer for it, but I have a feeling that the trailer
also gives somebody. Yeah. Well, and that's something that I wanted to discuss. I take a little bit
of umbrage at the very long opening of a movie where you're like if you didn't know that they were cannibals, you would probably not really know what was going on until they sat down to eat her. Do you
know what I'm saying? I think I do, but I don't think that's what the beginning
of the movie was setting up. What do you mean you don't think that's what it was setting up? I mean the beginning of the movie was setting up. I mean the beginning But you don't get into like the plot driver until like 75% of the way through.
It's a lot of build. Yeah, yeah, for sure.
And I think it's doing that like you're supposed to guess.
Are they sacrificing them to a weird god? Are they burying them in the back?
What are they doing? What are they eating them? We don't know. It's sort of like, at first, there's the setup that mom and dad are involved in this,
because you see when mom falls down that she's had a bag of rope and duct tape and like just
kidnapping tools.
Right.
And then dad's got the shed where the girl's hidden after he kn. Right. So there's that build of like introducing who knows what, when, and how.
But the central sort of crux of the film is that they're eating these people.
I mean, they purposefully don't introduce that until three quarters of the way through.
But Netflix is like, oh, by the way, they're going to eat them.
So you're saying the Netflix is like spoiling. Right. But I mean, everything you read about this movie is like, this is about cannibals.
And it's kind of like, come on fucking guys.
So it's kind of like, if you're going to have it marketed that way,
you can't also have this long period of what is going on here.
Because I was like, I know, I know, I know a cannibal movie. You want to see some people leading, am I wrong?
I liked that this was a cannibal movie heavy on the family drama.
Well, and that's kind of what I was thinking too, is like, I almost wish that I didn't know that
they were cannibals because I feel it would have made those opening scenes of, like, like, the mother sort of, thrown, th., thus, thus, thus, thus, thi, thi, thi, and, thi, and, thi, thi, and, thi, thi, and, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like made them more touching, but I knew that they were cannibals.
And even in the Netflix description,
it's like a father forces his children
to continue this tradition.
So like I even knew that the kids were cannibals.
So it's kind of like, I don't know.
Yeah, but then thing about this movie, I think. This is just sort of in the context of what we've been doing here. Every movie we've done for like the last six to eight
weeks has been pretty fun. Like we had your next, we had last shark, we had spider baby, even
Leapricon in the hood, though not. Theoretically fun. It was movie is not fun. Oh, this is existential on Wii. This is this is life is shit and deal with it.
I sort of forgot that they're not all fun.
Like the two notes I have near the beginning to say,
this movie is not fun and then nothing says fun like Parkinson's.
Like, it's not fun.
It's very melancholy and like quiet and not fun. It's not a fun movie. It's very like melancholy and like quiet and deliberate
and not fun. The 14-year-old goth girl that lives inside of me was just eating it
up with a knife and a fork. So I don't know. Yeah. So the family is at the beginning a father, a mother,
a mother, and three children. The girls names are Iris and Rose. Love that theme name.
And the younger brother is Rory, short for rhododendron, I can only assume.
And we're introduced to them as they're basically, I think, set up to be sort of like a weird religious cult.
We understand that they're fasting.
They do still have like connections to the outside world.
They go to school and that's kind of hit home a few times. They talked to the neighbor from Top Gun.
Kelly McGillis.
Yeah, it's good to see her.
I wondered what she's been doing.
Have you seen Stakeland?
This director's other, well, he's done a few movies, but he did a movie called Stakeland. No. That also has a movie called Stakeland and she's great that that that that that th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to th. to to to to to to to to to to to to ta. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. toge. today. today. to today. that movie. Stakland is fantastic. Why do we do that instead? It's also really miserable. He really seems to enjoy the misery of life.
It's about a vampire epidemic that's like struck the state
and people trying to escape it.
Cool.
It's a really good movie.
It's a really fun, it's a really fun,
the fun.
So it's fun.
Yeah, but you know that my version my my my my my version my version my version my version my version my version my version my version my version my version my version of fun or different things. Would you have described this movie as fun? No. No.
My first note is this is the Winter's Bone of Horror.
This is just like, that, you know, that sort of like,
new warish, like, no one talks above this the whole time.
It's shot with an Instagram filter.
It's just very, very bleak.
I don't know what Mumblecore is, but I th, you th, you th, you th, you th, you, you, you, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th.. It, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi.a.a.a. It's, thi.a. It's of mumblies. I hate, I really do hate to watch movies with subtitles on, but more and more I'm having
to, because old and too many years in bands, I guess.
This movie, as soon as it started, I was like, what, no?
I have no idea what anyone is saying.
Everyone's just so sad. And like, their mouths, their mouths, their mouths, their mouths, their mouths, their mouths, their mouths, their mouths, their mouths, their mouths, their m. Their their mout, their mout, their mout, their mout, their mout, their mout, their mout. I'm th. Their thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. They're so sad.
Probably because it's always fucking raining or something, I don't know.
Movies beautifully shot, though.
Yes.
And shot in the Catskills?
Oh yeah?
Yeah.
It's a really beautiful area of the country. And in this movie they refer to going downstate, which I liked. I think it was our friend Larry Fezenden.
He refers to going downstate.
And I was like, I never heard that.
I'm really, I'm really taking a shine to Larry Fezenden.
He was so minor in this.
I thought he was going to show back up, never, never again.
I read some interviews with to be in the movie because he also lives in the Catskills. Oh, but he felt bad that Larry gets killed in every movie he's in.
So he just wanted to have a role where he did not get killed. He's just in and out and gone.
He's totally superfluous to this movie. He could have landed on the cutting room floor.
We need, we did not need him.
I thought he did a really good job. of knocking on the door and saying he was leaving going downstay. Sure, sure. And looking just confused when the guy just shut the door in his face without saying anything.
Really strange. So the dad is weird and terrifying I think is probably the best way
to describe him. He's like a scary Billy Ray Cyrus.
Oh my god, that was such a better way to describe him. He really is though. He's like Billy Ray Cyrus without the smile. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thii, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Billy Ray Cyrus without the smiles. It's a Billy Ray Cyrus of your Nightmares.
Yeah.
That explains a lot about how Miley has turned out.
He is, I don't even know, like, I don't know what he does for a living.
They run an RV park on their land.
Ah, they own that part.
I see.
But everybody's leaving.
So fresh out of cash. Right and they also from what I could tell I think he resells stuff that they get from the people they kill
because he's always fixing watches. Oh they also have wind chimes which tells you
that they're terrible people. Do you hear that winchime haveers? I have the note we meet the children two sisters and an annoying snap pop beast. Yeah I'm a kid. He's also kind of a to the to to their. to. their. their. to. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. they. they's. they's they. they's they's they. they's they's the also kind of superfluous to this movie.
I know it's supposed to be like, we're supposed to worry
about his well-being.
Yeah.
He's, fuck him, who cares?
I don't know why I don't care.
I feel like that says something bad about me, but I don't care.
There's not much to him.
He's not very well-due- And I care not to paint him. Aren't all children, yeah. Wait, I'm not a sociopath.
No, children of blank camases.
They have yet to be painted on my life.
That's depressing.
Everything's depressing.
I'm in this movie now.
The one girl has her hair in like these tight French braids with the whole movie,
and then when she takes out, I was like, Holy shit! Oh, your hair? I thought her hair was amazing when it came out.
I just didn't expect it.
Did you?
I was like, oh my God, Shirley, Shirley, little Shirley Temple.
I knew it because I looked at the IMDB page and her IMDB photo was just like,
twkk!
Her hair is on 11, it's awesome.
Did not see it coming.
So we've met mom. She has th. She th. She th. She th. She th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. tho. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. th. to. to. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. On like a very poorly placed pipe, what was it doing there?
It makes a great conk noise when she hits it though.
Yeah.
She falls into the, some sort of water away and then is found by the police,
which is eludes to what will happen later in the film with finding parts of
of humans in the girls that she's dead.
Yeah, and the girls have to go identify her body in which we meet Doc Barrow.
Yeah, love him.
Love him, love him.
Yeah, he's something.
I find it hard to believe that he texts.
Like, he sends a text to the deputy does her, he does the autopsy on the mother
and finds that she has signs of Parkinson's.
She has like some calluses on her finger from pill rolling.
Right, and then he does like a weird thing where he rubs our leg and he
notices that she's lost muscle tone.
Yeah.
Early on set Parkinson's.
Yeah, like, what, what, thi. Doc Barrow performing every year. I don't know. Maybe came up from the big city, came up state from downstate.
I guess.
I guess.
But so he figures she has Parkinson's,
and that's kind of.
For the mom.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So the barrier.
It's sad.
The sun does not shine in this film.
There is no sunshine.
It's because it's an Instagram. Apparently, when they were filming the movie, they got two days of rain. The rest of it is just all hoses.
Because yeah, at the beginning,
I think there's one point at the beginning
where you can see that the sun is like sort of shining
on someone's face, but they're also just getting soaking wet.
And I was like, really guys, we're doing this now.
Whatever. Before the funeral, we meet we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we meet, we the, we meet, we meet, we meet, we the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the the, the, the, the, the the the the the the the the the th., th., the., the., the., the., the., the. Yeah, she seems like a really nice neighbor to have.
She's sort of an old hippie lady,
is sort of a vibe I got.
Yeah.
She makes the family a vegetarian meal at one point.
They eat peoples, though.
I don't think she's aware of that yet.
No, yet.
Actually, she may never become aware of that.
Spoiler alert, she die. Oh, in a really sad way to.
Yeah, I don't know.
So we sort of understand that something is super weird with this family.
Like, the daughters are always wearing pajamas.
And so as a little boy, constantly wearing these dinosaur pajamas.
They're talking about Lamb's Day and whether they'll go ahead with it.
And the father very gruffly is like, we will go on as planned or whatever. We will carry on this tradition.
And then we understand that now that the mother is dead,
some type of responsibility has fallen to the oldest daughter,
Iris.
Rose starts asking Iris, like, she does not want to go forward with this.
Rose starts asking like,
she does not want to go forward with whatever thin. to thiiiiii. to to to to to to to to to to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. the. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. that, that, that. that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. thei. thei. thei. the th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. the thi. the the the the. the the. the. thooo. the. the. thi. that. that. that. that. in the film we have seen that rather than being a responsible father, dad has gone
out and driven around looking for a victim.
We see someone changing a tire.
Yeah, and that's it.
And that's it.
You see him like approaching he drops a tire iron towards his hand.
Well, they look like brother
and sister. It's super weird. It's super weird. I like actually looked up to see if the actors
were siblings and I was like, that's super gross. That's like, that's not where those parts will
match up. What are you doing? Yeah, someone was taller than they thought or something.
And also at some point during all of this, the little boy like wanders into the father's
shed and hears a woman crying and he thinks it's a monster which like you're not that.
Like why is it so dumb? Why is he so dumb? Because they're reading him bedtime stories about monsters. Sure, sure, but he's heard humans.
He's seen humans.
It's very weird, that's all.
Are they telling him there's a monster out there?
Because if so, that's a fucked up thing to tell your child.
Well, there's also the scene earlier where they've made up to. It's totally fruit loops. Too, to Rory.
And at one point he's got a dump truck filled with, I don't know, blueberries?
I don't know what it was.
I what, yeah.
And why was he playing with blueberries when he was not permitted to eat them?
Because the father like freaks out about it.
Yeah, he tries tries tries tries tries t, this is all sad. Yep, yep, not fun.
This movie is not fun.
We've been introduced Sheriff Meeks and the doc.
The doc is, the doc.
And Anders, and Barrow has,
his dog has found a finger bone,
a human finger bone in the river.
Doc Barrow has gone to Deputy Anders and to the chief to try and get them to look into this. And we've been introduced to a couple characters
who are looking for children who have been abducted.
Yeah, and the mother like had seen a missing teenager poster
right before she died, too.
Right.
I'd like to point out that Doc Barrow was not sure.
And he was like, touching someone's leg. That's all I want to say. That's all I'm saying. He was pretty
sure. He was like kind of sure. He talks about sending it to a lab to be really sure, like,
I feel like... Maybe it's a big squirrel. Maybe it's a big squirrel. Big, very big squirrel.
Oh, squirrels have the weirdest hands, do I can't... They're the same number of finger bones. I can't stand watching a squirrels. Sque eat it. I find it so distressing. I saw a squirrel outside the
other day eating a piece of pizza and I almost lost my mind. Just like holding a
pizza restaurant. That was me. That's why I have to wear Jenko's to hide my tai. Oh God, it's so weird. That's me. That's me. That's me. I hate them. Can't stand them. the ta tale tale tale tale tale the the the the the tale. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the ta. Can't stand them.
Can't stand them.
So the Doc Verro can't get the chief of police interested
in this enough to look into it.
Not sure why.
He's just like more.
He's got a lot on his plate. on the fact that it's they're living in like a sort of an state of emergency from the storm. Yeah, what is it? Hurricane Sandy that went through like that's sort of like
it's sort of like sort of like sort of that.
Sort of that vibe because that area got really hit really
really bad from that.
I'm ever being surprised they had a TV that got like cable news coverage.
Yeah, but the powers keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps keeps the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the that that the the the that that that that that that that that that that that that that the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that. Anders, he's able to convince Anders to start looking around for it.
And Anders is a new deputy who is also like a semi-love interest for Iris, I guess from
high school.
Right, and the most all-American dude that's ever existed.
He's so juicy, these little cheeks.
Yeah, just like a little Aryan dude.
Mott motting around the forest. I I I I I I the the the the the the the the th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thi, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi-a, thi-a, thi-a, thi-a, thi-a, thi-a.a.a.a.augh, thi, thi's, thia.a.a.a, thia, thia, thia, forest. I think after the funeral, the dad gives a book to Iris
when he tells her it's her responsibility now.
And it's like a diary from the Family Bible, yeah.
Oh, it's the Family Bible.
But there's a lot written in it.
Yeah. But I think it's the like the Family Bible.
It's setting up their religious beliefs are or why they think God wants them to do this or what like there's no... It's sort of
just like, well God, weird God shit, like there's no we do this because God has
told us. It's a very loose-ended religious thing. Yeah well I'm talking to my

trying to figure it, she was like, this seems like a pretty loose concept to base a religion on
or base a tenet of religion on. And I was like, yeah, so does not masturbating and so does
all the weird shit that's in Christianity. Well that's newer, isn't that newer Christianity?
No, that's newer, isn't that newer Christianity? Or was his Christianity always? No, that's like Old Testament shit.
Is it?
Yeah, don't scill your seed on the ground, right?
Or cotton and polyblend.
Right, but like, don't spill your seed is because they want you
doing your business where you're supposed to do it to make more Christian.
So this is like, you keep up the cannibn't you wear a poly blend? I don't know, why can't you eat shrimp? I don't know, why can't you eat shrimp?
You can't eat shrimp?
No, shellfish are forbidden.
What?
Yeah.
Then why is my goddame Feast of Seven Fish's family eating so many shrinks?
I guess that's like super old testament because it's mostly Islam and
Judaism that hold up that don't Chelfish thing. I have a very, I know jack shit about religion. Oh. I was raised Catholic but like just loose Catholic, kind of like, Eee, Catholic.
Yeah. I'm a lifelong atheist in pain in the ass, so I've read a lot about this shit.
See why I bother then? Just to prove your point. Yeah, we don't get too deep into why their religion enforces this. Yeah and I sort of feel like that's like, that's, that's, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the their, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, th. th. th. th. th. thi, I'm, I'm, thi, thi, to, to, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. if I know too much, it's gonna bum me out.
It's not gonna like live up to, like, I don't need to know.
Go ahead, eat people.
Come on, just eat people.
Yeah, get to the eating.
Get to to die.
It's very, um, I guess it's Jamestown, right? Donner Party. Oh, it's the Donner Party. Oh, it's, you know, oldy time settlers in America had to eat each other. Yeah, Jamestown, Donner Party. Nobody never made no painting out of this. Nope. So they are, I guess this is the sort of origin
story of their cannibalism. Right, of Lamb's Day. And we sort of references earlier,
they string up their mom and eater. After eating multiple other members of the family as well. Yeah, well, dad goes hunting with their thi, the thi. No, th. No, th. No, th. No, th. After eating multiple other members of the family as a wrea.
Yeah, well, dad goes hunting with uncle, only dad comes back.
Dad comes back with meat.
But he was out on a scout.
Yeah, uncle went further west.
He just got lost.
I don't think he's ever going to come back, but he's probably found somewhere else to live. He found it Chicago. And then there- His name was Uncle Chicago, too, which I found strange.
Uncle Chaitown.
And then there's, there's more siblings earlier on
when they show them around the campfire.
And then it twindles down to two and dad,
and then mom is shrung up.
And they're just eating like mom fruit roll. how a gyro gets made. I'm sorry a hero. But we're from Pittsburgh so I'm going to say gyro.
This is gyro. Diro. But yeah, that's pretty much what they're doing to mom. Yeah. In a cave. You know,
like you do. I've read a bunch of like shipwreck stories about people that have resorted to
cannibalism and I'm just like, yeah. Would you ever eat a person? Would it surprise you if I said I've thought a lot about this?
It would not. It surprises me not more than you claiming to be a squirrel.
Who was eating pizza on my block?
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, me too.
I think so. You think so or you know so?
I think, I think that's a like situation-determinate sort of thing. You wouldn't just like eat it, just eat it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. Yeah. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. situation. You're ready. I would eat a human. Oh, you're ready. I'm currently I'm currently a vegetarian. Currently. Yeah, I mean, I don't think, yeah. going to turn it down. Oh so you don't want to be like culturally insensitive. So
if you're right if you're in Papua New Guinea and they were like this I would

get the lust, you know, like that episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
You don't worry about getting the core root disease.
I mean I'm not going to eat them all the time. I'm primarily going to stick with lean meats like chicken. I eat a lot a a a a know. It's not gonna be the core of my diet,
although I guess it's not the core of their diet either,
so who knows?
I don't know by the amount of fucking bones
that are in their yard.
It's true.
And also, like, they're eating it several. Like, how many leftovers do you full of lunches right here. How much of a human is really edible?
Because you eat the muscle, right?
It's muscle, not...
Hey, EMT creepoids.
Tell me how much of a human is it full.
I'm googling that while we talk.
I'm mostly gristle.
I feel like I'm just off, just, yeah. How much?
Well, I just took my shirt off to show you
where I've tattooed the cut lines for the prime cuts on me.
That's actually a hilarious tattoo,
and one that I will consider when I age.
How much of a human is edible.
I don't think I want to go to boards. dot com but here I am. This purports that a hundred and seventy five pound
man with normal body fat levels will have about 26 pounds of fat on him and
there's more calories than that so you might get this isn't science. What was it
called straight dope? Well I don't know to be honest with you. So send in your
emails to Katie at Katie.com.
I finally added the where wolf ambulance, Gmail to my cell phone,
so now I can see all your emails.
That you guys really aren't sending us.
So if you have an idea of how much of a human is edible, send that over, I'm interested.
We'll send you a pin.
We probably won't. We probably won't. We probably won't because we're you you you you you you you you we're, I know. So they kill this lady and they know her.
She's like, I'm sorry Mrs. Stratford or whatever, like, it's fucked.
They also have this elaborate system of chains and pulleys.
But it's also fucked when you realize they have killed other people that they know.
Yeah. They're eating from their town. Doc Barrow, who has been sort of investigating his daughter's
disappearance, has looked outside of the town. It's like within 30 miles or
maybe a 50 mile radius. Yeah, they've had like 30 people missing. That is not a
lot of ground to cover. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. Especially in these
small towns you think they're, you know, they're eating local. I think they want to get like the, you know, the best local cuts of meat that they can.
So they're local vows. Yeah, local vows.
They're big into goop.
They could love Gwinneth Paltrow and her website.

We're talking of celebs this week on Weirwolf Ambulance.
Name a celebrity you think would eat a human.
I'll go first, Benicio Del Toro.
Ah, hmm.
Hmm.
Name a celebrity you think has eaten a human.
Angelina Jolie.
Oh, totally.
Well, the Tom Cruise for sure.
Oh, yeah. He has not aged. Have you that??? Is that? Is that? Is that? Is that? Is that? Is that? Is that? Is that? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Oh? Is that what Scientology is? Is it human eating? Keanu Reeves?
Keanu Reeves looks like he's 25 and he's fucking 51 years old. That makes me
feel really old? No, being alive makes me feel really old? I feel really young
because I've been eating all these people's Peoples? I don't know, I just wonder like what it would be like.
I guess humans are probably closer to red meat, you know, being a mammal.
Or they'd be closer to pork.
Long pig, they're closer to the pork.
Pork is like the closest thing to human.
I'm sorry, he's 50 years old.
That's old the shit. Fn't shit. th shit. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. tho. tho. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. tooo of him. Seriously, you guys should watch John Wick if you haven't seen it.
It's fucking ridiculous and great.
Would you eat Keanu Reeves?
I would.
Get a little bit of that greatness I mean.
So they kill Mrs. Stratford or whatever by beating her
the hammer.
A hammer.
A ballpene hammer.
And Rose, the middle thow fucking hammer. Ballpine hammer. And like Rose who's, yeah, no. Rose's middle daughter.
Rose not that into it.
Once they start beating her and she's screaming, she turns to her sister and goes, just
take care of this.
Yeah, I think she just wants it to be over at that point though.
Like she's like, because it's, it's a two-person job to kill. They both have to pool a chain and then hook it into the wall,
like a bungee cord you would, like,
closing your trunk with a piece of furniture in it.
One chain, they have a pivot point,
well with two chains you get them stuck out in the middle of the room.
Not that I have a nightmare dungeon in my basement.
I've never been then in then thin in thin in thin in thin thin thin thin thin thin thin thin the thin there and said it looked like a nightmare. Oh yeah, it was just all the chains. It was all the chains everywhere.
They pull her taut, I would say, but not taught enough because she's still kind of thrashing.
Yeah.
And she starts sort of attacking Rose.
And Rose freaks out.
And then the little boy comes running in, so Rose runs over the little boy. the little boy, Iris th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, tho, tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I would tho, I would their, I would tho, I would their, I would their, I tho, I tho, I tho, I I I th, I I I I th, I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I tot, I I I I I I I I I to to to to to to to to to to to to tot, I tot, I tot, I tot, I tot, I tot, I would tot, I would tot, I would tot, tot, tot, tot, tot, tot, tot, tot, tot, tot, tot, tot, I would tot, I would. And then the next scene, she's standing over a bubbling pot on the stove.
Yeah, just some chilly.
Yeah.
Which led me to the note, did they grind her?
And then I thought about them just grinding her, like, bump and grind?
Oh, God, gross?
I know.
Is that grosser than putting her, the first thing we see in the movie, mom goes into the corner store and there's a guy putting meat through a hamburger machine.
So they definitely ground her.
Okay. Yeah.
Because it looks ground.
Yeah, because they show, they show a pig and then a grinder.
So it's just like, oh no, this will happen later to people.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Grindinging. the shit jobs in the world. You know what I mean? Why doesn't dad have to do this? Why do the women have to do this?
Because he does the murdering.
Or he does the, he does the catching.
I would rather catch somebody than kill them, wouldn't you?
And then eat them.
I mean, I'm just, this is just all very hypothetical.
I'm not catching people. I quit. You can't. It's part of our religion. Oh, it's a lab's day.
Did I mention that Doc Barrow played Jean Rino on Twin Peaks?
You did not and I did not know that. Yeah, very exciting. Yeah, he's good. He's great.
Yeah. While this is going on this murdering and eating, Doc Barrow is kind of getting closer to finding out what's going on here.
He enlists Anders, the deputy, and Anders comes to their house to talk to them to see
if they'd seen anything.
They live on the creek.
They live like sort of downstream from Doc Barrow.
During the heavy rains, one of their trees has fallen, which comes back up later
in the movie.
Does it? Yeah, that's where dad's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's Yeah, that's where dad finds all the bones that are leaking into the river going down at Ox House.
Right, right, right.
So Anders is, what do you call that when you got the pan and the water and he's panning for bones?
Yes.
I was going to say panhandling, but that's something different.
That's something totally different.
He's sp different too. Dood-dood. He's walking up the river and walks up to their house and meets up with Iris.
And she's like, oh, that's from the old cemetery because he's found a bone.
Yeah, she says they have a family cemetery upstream, which I wondered if that really existed.
So let me walk you up to the cemetery.
Cemetery's in the most awkward, like...
It's just so teenage, you know?
But like the, yeah, the things just weren't lining up.
There were some belly buttons getting this one.
It seemed, yeah, it seemed like some, um,
accommodations had to be made for actors in some way.
Yeah.
But it's cool because nothing happened.
There's no completion in this because dad comes up with a fucking shovel and shovels Anders head. Yeah, it's a bummer. Yeah, he was a nice boy.
I'm gonna kill where the fucking shovel is a bummer.
Yeah. He had found a tooth also in the creek we should mention by their house.
Right, right, right.
Not that it really matters.
Right. This is what he showed to row, or iris to get her to to take him the cemetery him him him him him him him him him him pocket. You think maybe she's going to kill him. Right. But she doesn't. I don't know why she brought the knife. She was just trying to...
She wasn't with kindness. Oh. So this is where you realize that dad has lost the plot. Oh yeah. Like he's just like, you know. That's always the turning point in a movie. It's like. You know, that's the the turning. the the the the the the the the turning. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the. the. the the the the. the the. th. th. towards, you know. And it's also, it's really great in a movie because it just like, if you, you know,
you've got that sort of idea that you'll be safe
if you're with a cop.
And when they start getting off to, you're like, fuck.
Earlier, there is a bunch of great cinematography
in this film and a bunch of great, like,
interweaving of story lines, There's a really great scene. There's the interplay between the family history of the girls finding, or the girl finding her mother
strung up in the cave with the girls
going to commit the murder that they're going to commit.
These are interweaved together.
And sort of the story of them,
of the two cops finding a body in the river,
is also the all of this is getting woven t girl that we were to believe the family had kidnapped, but then it looked like a car accident.
Right, right. Right. So, but there's, I just really like the way that all that stuff is, you know,
and it happens later, like there's like a dressing scene that's inner cut with like other stuff that's the theat. thate. thateat thii. that. their their their their their their their their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their. their, their, their, their. their, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their interplay throughout the film of these things. I thought that was really good filmmaking.
Things happening simultaneously.
And things of a almost similar nature,
but it's sort of polar opposites on what they're doing,
which really interesting.
So they're eating the people, they're eating the lady.
And then they go to eat her a second night, and the dad pours, and pours, and pours, and pours, and pours, and pours a bunch of junk in it. Well, dad has found the bones in the river and realizes that they're washing down
and realizes that his Parkinson's has,
he's got curro disease, we learn,
from Doc going through his books and figure out
like Parkinson's is one of the symptoms of this curro disease,
which spawns from eating people.
Yeah.
And so Dad has realized that he's fucked and he's just kind of like, well, we're all fucked. Everyone's gonna die. You gotta Jonestown this shit.
Luckily he has a jar of arsenic at like child eye level,
just in the pantry.
Like, you have a small child and you've clearly had other small children.
Put your arsenic away, guy?
Put it away.
No. So he puts it in the, he puts it in the people chilly, which didn't seem to... Come on down to Katie's people chilling.
Someday.
You're going to do really well in a post-apocalyptic world, Katie.
I am not.
We've discussed this.
Remember, I'm going to hide.
I'm not going to live.
I've revised my post-aboctic plan.
I'm no longer just offing myself as soon as it happens. That's the best way to go! No, I'm going to live in a library with a bunch of cats and owls and just give out knowledge
to people as they come to seek it from me.
What will you eat?
Books?
Cats and owls.
Probably cats, yeah.
Probably, the toes.
That's what really matters to them. Would you eat a cat? I don't think so. I would. Would you eat a dog? No.
Well, no, definitely no.
I'd 100% eat a dog.
You know what I'd love to eat horse?
Go to France.
Well, apparently, I think it's a legalized year to eat horses?
That I don't know.
I can't get decriminalized weed, but I can get decriminalized horses. I'll tell you what. Where will vambulance? Legalize it.
Am I wrong?
And by legalize it, we mean eating humans.
I'm not pro-cannibalism.
I'm not saying go murder.
I'm saying if it's in front of me, I'm gonna eat it.
I'll eat pretty much anything if you put it in front of me. You know what I mean? Like, I don't think it's a moral issue once it's on the plate. That's absolutely not true. I don't mean that at all.
Dad has poisoned their people chili with arsenic.
And the little boy is going to eat it, and Rose cannot, she's like watching him like,
I don't put in your mouth, don't put in your mouth, don't put it in your mouth,
so she slaps out of his hand. Yeah, it's pretty good. Just then, it's very tense. We should say this is very tense and very like,
you're very afraid of the father.
Yeah, they're cutting between Rose and Rory,
who's about to spoon, plus dad just looking like a fucking sociopath.
Yeah.
After he's killed Anders, you're like, all bets.
Is that when Doc Barrow comes in?
Yeah, he comes in. He's got the gun that he's procured from the sheriff's office.
Straight just stole it.
Yeah, he like distracts the receptionist with a dog.
Like, is this police procedure to let people go into the sheriff's office?
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah.
I'd eat that dog.
I feel like that him figuring out exactly what's happened, kind of happens off screen. Yeah. Like he's putting stuff together,
but like we're getting like his conclusion.
He's not showing his work.
No.
He's giving us his answer to not showing his work.
He just, after the father has killed Anders,
he takes his gun and his cell phone,
and then you see him reading a text from Doc Barrow that says, it's something with the parkers, meet me, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, and th, and th, th, th, th, th, th, that, th, that, that, that, tho, and then, and then, and then, tho, tho, they, they, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, and he, he, and he, they, they, they, they, they, they, th, th, th...... th. th. th. th. thi, he's thi, he's not, th th tho, th th thoooooooo', th th th th th th th thooooooooooooo' th th th th th th th th it's something with the parkers, meet me at their house. And you're like, where did, how did you get there?
I guess, because he read about this disease.
Yeah.
And then he comes in and he's straight up like,
did you eat my daughter?
Which is like, ugh.
Well, he comes in and sees that one of the girls
has his daughter's hair pins the family. And this is the first time of the father fully opens his eyes, which makes him even more terrifying.
He's squinting. I didn't even realize he had been squinting the entire time.
And then he's just kind of like, big eye and like, the doc? And so he's like, the thinks, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, the, the, the, the, the, the, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, the, and, and, and, the, the, the, the, the, the. the. the. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the.. And, the, the, the.. And, the. And, the. And, the. And, the. And, the. And, the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the has the deputy's gun in the drawer and he kind of leans back saying he's gonna put his matches away,
pulls out a gun.
Yeah.
And they sort of simultaneously shoot.
And the one daughter dies in front of the doctor to block the bullet.
Yeah.
And she gets shoved in the head.
Just buzzed.
Dad falls and gets a the wound. Yeah, he hits his head on the corner of the table. And Doc has taken a kind of indirect shot to the shoulder
from the graze off of her.
Mm, OK.
Oh, no, that's not what happens.
He gets hit in the head with a pan.
Yeah, because I have the note here.
It says, I bet it Just to feel it vibrating
in your hand watching their lifeless body slip to the floor. What is going on?
I don't know. I don't know. This movie really brought out my primal instincts. I'm not advocating doing this to like your spouse. I'm just saying like if somebody breaks into your house and you hit them with a cast iron pan I bet it feels great. It's a common weapon.
It's a common weapon in movies, cartoons, loony tunes, you know, loony too was heavy on
the frying pans.
Doc has bent down to check on Iris who has tried to save his life.
Right.
Which again, Doc Barrow, fucking A-plus dude, like he's looking out for everybody. He's not angry at these girls, even though he has sorted that everyone has eaten, that
they've eaten his daughter too.
He's not, he's not blaming them.
Papa So sociopath has put everybody up to this.
Sure.
And that's when dad stands up and tongs in with the frying pan.
Right.
Cast iron into the little boy, and runs out to Marge's house. Oh, yeah, Kelly McGillis.
Yeah.
She lets them in and then promptly dies.
Yeah.
Well, Kelly McGillis has been periodically looking after Rory as like family businesses needed
to be done.
When she opens the door and lets them to and she goes, what the fuck is going on?
I was like, Kelly McGillus, you got to roll. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You see that weird side boob of hers and Topkin? The 80s, the decade of the sideboob.
Side boob.
Side boob's big.
His side boob is back.
So they, I have the note that says, not by the window, Marge, which turned out
to be her undoing.
Yeah, once again, another movie with a throat slidding in a pretty brutal one.
Yeah, this movie's pretty gruesome to be fair. Yeah, it's not only emotionally taxing, but it really delivers on the gore. Like, it's not, I mean there's the autopsy scene. It's fucking brutal. Yeah. So Marge gets killed by Dad. Yeah, Dad kills Marge. And then like, tha. Yeah, dad kills Marge. Yeah. Yeah, the the that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Dad. Dad. that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's that's th. that's th. that's th. he he's he's th. It's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he is he is he is he is he is he is he is he is he is he. It's he. It's he. It's he. It's he. It's he. It's he's he's he's not th. It's not th. It's not th. It's not th. It's not th. It's not th. It's not th. It's not th. It's not th. It's not th. It's not he's not to go back to the house. Yeah. She has already tried to like get in the truck and drive away and he
stopped her. Yeah, yeah. He's playing on her need to take care of Iris. Oh right,
that's right. Iris has been shot and you need to come home. I think she assumed Iris. And he tell you the next part I think is probably better for you to do to do to do to do the th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. the th. th. Yeah. the the th. th. Yeah. the th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah................................................................................. the. the.. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. it. They go back to the house and they sit back down at the table and dad he slops out more stuff for Rory more people chilly he tells Rose that she looks
so much like her mother and how proud her mother would be and that is the last
fucking straw that's emotional manipulation yeah and that's so Rose
snaps and well Rose goes to hug dad and then just starts chowing down in his goddamn neck. And not just biting him, eating him.
Eating him.
Then Iris gets a knife and basically stabs his hand into the table.
Yeah, I'd love to stab him in the table.
I love the immobilization of a hand in the table.
I don't want to do that to somebody.
I want to hit rait of a serial killer.
We are what we are.
So they both start chowing down on him,
and like with their little brother hiding under the table.
Yeah. Why? Because they are just, now they're just cannibals, now they're just like into it?
So it's gross like roses eating pieces of him out of her hand like potato chips. She's just like popping him in her face.
It's the crackling.
So Missy and I talked about this.
And like she felt that that was really incongruous
with the rest of the film.
They were so against it.
I agree.
But I kind of felt like it was they had just gone primal on him basically.
And it was like, this is what you want you you you you you you you you you you you you th you want you want you want you want you want you want you want us to do? All right, you're gonna get the brunt of it. You're gonna get the worst of what we can do.
I would agree with that if the last scene didn't show them driving away with
the book like they're gonna continue it. Right. I didn't, I thought that was a really just a quick strange turn of character. Yeah, is this how the Mexican one, it's, how, the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the th. the the th. the the the the the the the th. thi the last the. the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last th. th. I th. I the last th. I th. th. th. th. the is the is the is the is thea. throea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. the. ends in a standoff with the cops. Okay.
And there's like a full-on shootout and it's yeah, it does not end like this.
And then I wondered if the title, you know, we are what we are like, well you're
once a cannibal, always a cannibal kind of thing, but... Well they've got the hunger now. They've they've tasked. They've that's their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their forbidden. They've their forbidden. They've their forbidden. They's their. They's their. Thea. Thea. Thea. Thea. Thea. Thea. Thea. Thea. Thea. Thea. Thea. Thea. Thea. Thea. T. T. Thea. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. It's their. It's their. It's their. It's their. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their sunny in Philadelphia. Where they eat raccoon meat.
Because it's not like they're eating humans every day either.
It seems like they do it on this one day of the year
and then they eat the leftovers until it's gone.
And then I guess they eat snap pops.
Snap pops are on the menu.
Mm-hmm.
Those are not made of people. school lunch. Why do you eat people chili every day for lunch?
You're so weird.
No one's trading with you for people chili.
They're like, you are not getting that hostess cupcake.
Yo, I'll get you my fluffer nutter from the pizza chili.
Oh, pizza chili.
Ooh, pizza chili.
And now I will Google that.
So that's we are what we are.
The last note I have is just the word crunching in quotes
because that's what it says when they're eating him in the subtitles.
Oh, wow.
So Doc Barrow does live and as a last act of kindness, Iris puts his daughter's hair
pan on him as she's leaving the house.
Yeah, and then the last scene is the three of them driving away in the truck with the book.
Why? Why the book? Why the book? Why? Why? Why? Why the book? Why? Why? Why the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their their their their their their their their their th. th. the? their th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. So? So? So? So? So? th. th. th. th. th. th. th. So. So. So, that's. So, that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. theeeeeee. So. the them driving away in the truck with the book. Why? See, if they had left the book behind, I felt like it would have been a much more positive ending
of like leaving this life behind, like starting new, going somewhere where you don't, because
throughout the movie they're like, what if we were different, what if we were normal,
what if we didn't do this? Right. They th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th that that that that that that that that that that that that that, that, I that, that, I that, I the, I their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their, I their, I their, I their, I their, I their, I their, I their, I their, I their, I their, I their, I that, I that, I'm that, thr. thrown. throoooooooooooooooooooooooooe.. theeat, theat, theee do this. They have the opportunity to do that now,
but I guess they're going to eat people's?
I mean, could they be taking the book with them
as a reminder of where they come from?
Could be.
To never return to this?
It just seemed.
I mean, they may have been driving to the police station.
I don't know exactly. the implication. the implication. the implication.
is that they're now cannibals on the road. They're road cannibals.
I think that the most dangerous kind of cannibal there is.
I think that that's enforced by also them, like, Rose eating out of her hand,
like, you would potato chips like where you're like, I can't eat just one.
You know what I mean?
And just like, she can't help it. Like if you have barbecue chips in your hand, you're gonna thua.
you have barbecue chips in your hand, you're gonna put those in your face. Yeah, once you pop, you can't stop.
You can't stop.
Stop.
No.
So I guess they lost their minds, collectively?
I mean, wouldn't you?
Isn't that enough emotional, fucking torment?
This episode has showed me that I don't know.
Who am I?
I was vegetarian for 10 years maybe it's just like a making up for a lost time thing yeah yeah
I was vegan for a year's and then stopped and ate some narly ass meat for a
while before I went back to be vegetarian. Meets so good though I just couldn't
live without salami. It's okay do you want to move on to the what? What? What? What? What? to? What? to what? Ratings? to what? Ra? to what? Rho. Rating. Rating. Rating. Rating. Rating. Rating. Rating. Rating. Rating. Rating. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. R. I'm gonna give it, I'm gonna give it eight and a half. Ooh.
I don't know why I'm not giving it like a nine.
It might be because I still have a lot of questions.
Like I don't, like I didn't see all of Doc,
like the Doc Barrow's Leap of Logic to this ending
kind of like fuzzes me a bit.
And it's also depressing a shit. So, Katie sent me a message that I just watched We Are Where We Are and I'm going to go drop myself in the bathroom.
That's so dramatic. I'm so glad I said that.
And I'm just like, oh yeah.
It is definitely depressing.
Yeah. But yeah, I would, I would highly recommend people to check it out.
I think, again, with It Follows and with Your Next and with these movies that are like coming out right now, these genre films that are really paying homage and pushing and kind of putting things in different directions.
Like I love that they, the original is about two sons vying for power in this family and they
flip that and they made it women and I think that adds a really interesting dynamic and
the mom die or the that, the Mexican one.
When was that one made, the Mexican one?
2010. That was a quick turnaround. Apparently while Jim Mickle was on the press circuit and the
festival circuit with Stakeland, at the same time the original We Are What We Are
was playing against it at festivals. Oh really? And he was kind of like, man, I wish I had done that movie. And then the opportunity came and he's like, oh, I'm gonna...
And I am not a fan of remakes, and I think he put...
And I'm especially not a fan of like, dumbing down foreign movies for American audiences,
and I do not think he did that. He totally stepped it up and like,
they're both great movies, they're both worth your time. this movie really took me by surprise because we've been watching so much fun stuff recently that I was like yeah yeah we're gonna watch this movie
oh my god oh I'm gonna draw myself in the bathtub which is not a feeling I really
like to have but however it was certainly well done it was well acted well
shot I did not see the Mexican version so I can't really speak to that
but while I would probably not watch this again because I'm afraid that I might actually to watch the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the the th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. the th. th. the the the took took took took took took took took took took took took took took took took took took took to took too. took theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. the. the. the. th, but while I would probably not watch this again, because I'm afraid that I might actually drown myself in the bathtub,
I would definitely recommend that other people watch it if they are of sound mind.
Seven.
Oh, okay.
You thought I was gonna hate it.
No, I didn't.
I didn't.
I think it was.
I thought it was.
.
.
. That was a weird way to phrase that was. It really was. It is our second cannibal movie
in a row. Spider-Baby, cannibal movie. Oh right. Yeah. We didn't really even discuss
the cannibal aspect in the Spider-Baby episode. No. It is a cannibal feast though.
What are we doing next week, Alan? Why don't you tell us Katie? We are doing the 1996 West Craven meta.
I see Alan's mouth moving to cut in here to go,
awaw.
Uh, horror film, scream.
Oh, the granddaddy of ruining horror movies.
When is the last time you saw it?
Maybe you'll find some redeeming features.
I will, I will definitely go in with an open mind.
Okay.
It's on Netflix.
Yeah, plus, god damn it you've seen it, so you know what we're talking about.

No, not since it came out.
That was a very long time ago.
Not to me, I'm eternal.
