We both watch this on the same day unbeknownst to each other. Yeah. It's a super low budget, I would say. A Charles B. Pierce film. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's not perfect. No. There's a lot of weird physical comedy in it. Mostly with the Charles B. Pierce. Yeah. As a deputy name of Spark Plug or something like but it's it's good. Yeah. MST 3K heads out there would know him as the guy from Boggy Creek to the legend continues. No I did not know. That's a Charles B. Pierce the original Boggy Creek. A Viking. the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Yeah. Yeah. That's a Charles B. Pierce film, along with the original Boggy Creek, and a Viking movie starring Lee Majors, that is fucking beautifully terrible. He's made some real shit movies, some really great movies. And the original town that dreaded sundown is probably like his most accomplished. Right. Came on like 1973, I think and it's set in 1946 and is loosely based on 76 Whatever

Whatever it's a long time ago because it was supposed to be 30 years after yeah, well whatever it's set in 1946 and loosely based around the moonlight murders right? Which were a real series of murders that happened in that area at that time and I don't think they ever caught the guy. No, if I recall correctly. So, and setting up this film. this film, which is one thing that I really liked about this movie is, it references the old movie. Like thi, meta of that. They live in a

world where this movie has existed. This statement will come back to haunt me at the end of this. Sure. But this movie is like if the film scream were totally based on one film. It's like all of its genre references are this one movie pretty much. Yeah. Yeah. Played by an actor from Law and Order. Oh, really? So is that guy? Because Edward Herman's in a couple episodes of Law and Order. This was his last movie, which is a fuck sorry guy. Anthony Anderson, of course, those years on Law and Order. And then the guy who plays the Charles B. Pierce's son was in like an episode of SvU that I had like casually watched on Netflix several days prior and I was like, oh that's the father Shea or whatever. But this is a series of actors from Law & Order and also Lumberg from office space. So good. He plays such a good asshaw, I really do like Lumberg. The boyfriend at the beginning of the movie.

Corey is such a boyfriend at the beginning of the movie. You know what I mean? Yeah, it's like a burlap sack with the eyes cut out, no mouth cut out, which I think is very good. It predates Halloween by two years in that slasher genre and it has the best kill with the trombone.

No shit. Yeah. What is it called? It's called Killer Legends. It's made by the same people that did the Cropsy documentary. So which also explores the same them. And it's really interesting. So yeah, the phantom was something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something something. I'm really excited about that. I do like that in that first kill, he is staring at them and they catch him.

And normally in a horror movie, when one person sees the killer, the other person's like, hey, what are you looking at? And they turned around and they're gone. But he was just fucking staring and I was like, that's good. I did. That's creepy. I loved that. Yeah. And then he then it like to it took on like it that's when I knew that this movie was going to be mean. This was not going to be a nice horror like the Town that Dreaded Sun Down is a movie about a serial killer

who does like dastardly things to people yeah and it's still fun. This movie is not fun. Not fun. I really don't like the talking killer. Honestly, I wouldn't have been surprised about the end of the movie she had taken the hood off and been to kill her. Look, that's how dumb this was. It's a, yeah, it's basically a who done it, which I like. And has a lot of red herrings, which I also like, but it ultimately makes no sense. Well, the timeline in this movie is just like, boom, boom, boom. It's just going to be at Halloween. Do you? Thanksgiving graduations? Sure, everyone does. You draw your hand turkey and put a little graduation camp on it. That's adorable. She lives with her grandmother who is played by, what's her face from alien? Lambert? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. She's great. She also has the saddest line in this movie, which I think we'll probably get to later.

The next thing I have says, this is so Scooby-Doo. Yeah, well at some point Anthony Anderson shows up as lone wolf Morales. Did they ever say his name the name was lone wolf? what? He's like, I prefer a lone wolf. There's like a scene where he's talking about calling me Lone Wolf, which was just harping back to the original movie because it's such a weird role for him. It's such weird, underdeveloped, underdeveloped role, yeah. Can we just move on to the two guys that are parking in the car? That's why I was saying it was so scubby-do because they're in like a abandoned amusement park. Yeah. And like Mr. Withers is going to the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. that's going that's going that's going the th. thi thi. that's going thi. that's going un, un, un, un, un, un, un, un, un, un, un, th. Like if you just want to watch people die and like there's no joy in that death. It's just, it's a miserable mean movie. I thought all the acting was fine, all of it was competent.
