Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a HeadGum Podcast. This is All Fantasy Everything, the podcast where we fantasy draft anything and everything from the world of pop culture. On today's episode, we're drafting rappers who act because our guest today is Portland-based rapper and hip-hop artist Mike Capes. His new EP, In Spite Of, is available now
Starting point is 00:00:24 on all streaming platforms. I'm your host, Ian Carmel, and as always, I'm joined by my friends and comedians, Sean Jordan and David Borey. Let's get into it. welcome to another brand new episode of all fantasy everything the podcast that was taught to rumble and not bump gums but today we're making an exception we're making an exception uh-huh hell yeah dude bumping gums is one of my favorite ways to say it too like it's i love saying it don't bump your gums with me i love it we we we really do bump gums on this podcast it's about it's about 90 straight minutes of bumping gums exclusively i'm okay with that all All right. Oh, man. We haven't recorded in a little while.
Starting point is 00:01:27 It's so good to see everybody. Yeah, man. It's been like two weeks, right? If not longer. I went to Hawaii in the meantime. I went to Las Vegas in the meantime. Damn, you really been living it up. Yeah, man.
Starting point is 00:01:39 I've been in my living room with my daughter the whole time. Yeah. Ian has a whimsical-ass IG. He's been real whimsical since getting engaged. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Y'all look like the portraits that are in the picture frames at Ross when you go there. We're going for kind of, we're going for like,
Starting point is 00:02:01 if Ross was an exclusively Jewish storefront, my fiance Dana Schwartz and I, just going to different whimsical locations. I feel like you could be like a character in the New Dallas lately. I would love that. Oh, with my cowboy hat picture? And just like you go into beaches. Yeah. I spent a lot of time on beaches over the last, beaches and then losing at roulette.
Starting point is 00:02:24 So I think I could be a new character on the New Dallas You don't have a system? I am not good at gambling It's crazy roulette, I didn't know how it worked Last time when we were at Las Vegas I think I walked up and straight up I was like So if I put 20 bucks on black and it's black I have 40 bucks and dude's like
Starting point is 00:02:40 Yep, I did it, turned into 40 That turned into 80 That turned into 160 in about two minutes and by then i had been muscled out there were other people in there and i went to get my money and then it all went away next spin it was like three minutes of thunder and i was just like well that sucked i mean i couldn't even take it off when i wanted to it was just you were following the wesley snipes method of gambling on the roulette table. Always bet on black. Yeah, man.
Starting point is 00:03:07 That's not the only Wesley rule I follow. If you look at Sean's life, there's a lot of Wesley Snipes rules he goes by. White man definitely can't jump. I'm always on the money train. That's true. That's true. What about Blade? Yeah, I'm a day walker.
Starting point is 00:03:20 Day walker for sure, man. You do rap. You got to quit mine, bro. I was telling these gentlemen off video, what are we doing? I'm a day walker. Day walker for sure, man. You do rap. You got to keep mine, bro. I mean, I was telling these gentlemen off camera, off video. What are we doing? Off audio. It's nice to have another rapper on the show.
Starting point is 00:03:32 Thank you. It's been a hassle having to explain these two how, you know, rap works. I can't even get the sentences out of my mouth. No, I appreciate you telling me about that. No, I appreciate you telling me about that. When this drops, I mean, you're 48 hours from the public release of Sean Jordan's, or at least the first public performance of Sean Jordan's rap song, Nike and Adidas. Wait, you're playing it over? You're playing it?
Starting point is 00:03:58 I thought you weren't playing it till Denver. You're playing it on Saturday? Playing it on Saturday. Both shows, boy, boy. Oh, I got to get a new hat. I got to get a new hat i gotta get a new hat i'm gonna get one in portland does lloyd center still have stores in it or is that not a thing anymore no it's it's a sad day at the lloyd center man it's tough i go in there i want to donate shit i never want to buy shit it makes you want to donate that's how bad it is it's so sad it used to be so glorious man walking in there we used to be like walking into
Starting point is 00:04:28 like a like versailles like it was palatial once bro the tilt the tilt you remember that man yes they got a tilt next to the movie theater they used to yeah next to one of two movie theaters in like a half mile block by the way because there was the outside one and the inside one both gone it's such a tragedy now like i go up in the food court now just look i'm like man there used to be a movie theater over there an arcade it's a bummer and i love this is a podcast of gentlemen who love malls by the way we're all loving people no no getting around it yeah yeah i love them all that's one of the biggest bummers about this oh what's the mall it has a crazy name the mall you took me to last time I was in Portland, Sean.
Starting point is 00:05:07 Clackamas Town Center? Yeah, Clackamas Town Center. That's a big-ass glitzy mall. Yeah, man. It's fun. It was. It's got a carousel, a movie theater. They got everything I want.
Starting point is 00:05:16 They got a whole weekend for me at that mall. The people near Clackamas Town Center are still a mall-going people, and I really appreciate that. Yeah. A lot of places stopped supporting their mall. Washington Square is even getting a little sadder. That's crazy. That's a good mall. LA has a very strong mall culture.
Starting point is 00:05:34 They're still thriving down here. You can go to Westfield anytime. Do they all fucking say Westfield on them in California? Either they're Westfields or they're owned by the Caruso group and that's like the Grove and the Americana, which are like very Disneyland-ass
Starting point is 00:05:50 malls. Who the hell is Westfield? Is that Rich as hell? We can't talk about that. We'll tell you after we're done recording. We can't be splitting that up. I feel like the Westfield people are rich, but also aware that malls are going out of business left and right. I bet that's a tense Thanksgiving dinner at the westfield house enjoy it while it lasts kids just a bunch of annie ann's
Starting point is 00:06:12 getting passed around uh sean jordan is here sean s jordan on twitter sean cougar melon jordan on instagram sean one night off the leash on in about 48 hours the night of our live show sean jordan's got a hotel and permission from his fiancee yeah i gotta kick it past i gotta kick it past man i'm so stoked like um yeah i and it was it's it's kind of a tough sell because like that kid cries and i'm just like you're cool you're cool you're cool with that and she's like yeah go it's all right so i'm stoked i mean she doesn't want me coming in at 1 30 in the morning all you know ripped up that's why you got a hotel what's the progress on fatherhood how's it going it's all good man it's getting it's getting a lot easier it was there were a couple weeks there where it was like straight up look in the mirror what's you know
Starting point is 00:06:59 what did i do type stuff and i feel like no one's honest about david differs but i swear to god no one's honest about this shit but it's good now she's chilling i really feel like you haven't been listening everybody who has a baby is always like maybe i wasn't listening it's the hardest i was there when my brothers were babies too though so i also remember it oh yeah yeah it's good man cordon is constantly trying to talk people into having kids and i'm like you gotta stop doing that because you are a millionaire who has a nanny. That's a different experience. Well,
Starting point is 00:07:28 the thing is, and I'm not saying don't have it. I trust me. You'll be getting some, some heat from me to have a little baby, dude. I will. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:35 I want Max grown up with, I don't want Max to meet her first Jewish person when she was 28. Like I did, you know? Well, you can, I mean, there's ways you can get around that without,
Starting point is 00:07:44 without having a baby. The only way she doesn't, 28 like i did you know well you can i mean there's ways you can get around that without without having a baby the only way she doesn't max doesn't meet a jewish person other than you and dana until you have a kid so that's just how it's going sean jordan grew up in sioux falls south dakota where they are bereft of jews yeah on a jew inside does that mean upset does bereft mean upset? Does bereft mean upset? Yeah. No. Yeah. It's all good, man. I'm chilling. I'm stoked. We went to the coast. I took mom out to the coast. How about this? Let me get mushy for a second.
Starting point is 00:08:14 Go on. This podcast is the reason that I got to take my mother and my sister and pay for a whole trip on the coast, and I got to put them up in hotels the whole time they're here're here my whole life i've never been able to do anything like that i've never had any money i've been broke not like money defines you but because of this show i was able to like that's a that's been a dream of mine for for years to to pay for them to go on vacation and i did it and it's because of this show yeah man so got your mom on a plane for the first time in like 20 years dog it's she liked it and i'm just like it's funny what you take for granted because i'm like flying sucks bro and she's like i thought it was amazing we're in the air and i'm like you're
Starting point is 00:08:55 right you're right it's amazing she took to those guys yeah man so it's all good i'm chilling beautiful uh david borey is here cool guy jokes 87 on instagram the g is silent on twitter david what are you grateful for oh man uh you know good friends who let me borrow their computer when i break mine in a pinch yeah how did you break your computer i don't want to talk about it man all right come on more than that give more than that made it more interesting i was gonna say get more than interesting i was just say get more than that interesting i was just doing like three things at once were you out there no i i don't i don't think he was certain he was on twitter he was he was googling something and he was using his laptop to be
Starting point is 00:09:36 uh an elk to death to beat off actually he's in the woods i was in the woods trying to get to the forest you know what i'm saying no i was like typing something and then i was on a phone call and i got a package and i went to go grab the package and i just wasn't paying attention and it like pulled down with the cord because my leg was here and then i was like fuck i to do AFV in 40 minutes. Oh, this just happened? This is fresh. Oh, blah, blah, blah. Yeah. And then it's like, I got computer work, pretty important computer work all week. So I think I got to just suck it up and hit the Apple store in the morning.
Starting point is 00:10:17 Pretty important computer work sounds like something you'd lie to someone about if you wanted them to think you were busy. It sounds like I'm going to jerk off somewhere. I'd love to come, but I've got pretty important computer work all week so all the parties on friday no i got emphasis on it was i'd love to come listen to me when i say i would love to come i just i just can't i just can't to your party. I'm going to come to things. I will be coming. How have you been doing, buddy? I'm good, man. I got like a couple gigs.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Next year, you're going to see a bunch of stuff from me, so I'm happy. Come to Faded Denver Thursday, August 19th. We got Will Miles. No Julia Rossi, but Will Miles. i'm happy come to faded denver thursday august 19th we got will miles no julia razzi but will miles and uh come to well no fit afb sold out so you know come just come buy some tickets or whatever also i'm gonna have to be canceling a bunch of dates so that sucks i'm sorry yeah yeah their tweets surfaced so david's gotta just fucking wipe yeah they got they found out they found out what i really feel about chet hayes you're a big chet hayes supporter is that right no but i like that fucking song man yeah that's right i didn't i didn't know it was him when i heard it
Starting point is 00:11:39 mike have you heard this chet hayes song that David's talking about? Don't listen to it. I don't know what it is. Nope. It's, man, it's pretty good. Who is Chet Hayes? It's Chet Hanks. It's Tom Hanks' son. Oh, you said Hanks. Yeah, yeah. Well, his rap name is Chet Hayes.
Starting point is 00:11:54 I don't want to get into this. He's the white boy summer guy. Jamaican accent? Yeah, that's right. Yeah, that guy. That guy. David's a big fan. Listen, I didn't want him to snap either. I didn't want him to snap either david's the guy who told
Starting point is 00:12:08 him he could do the accent that has never been true i don't even like it when sean tries to do rizza i actually why are you saying pics it'll come up naturally this episode if it was ever going to naturally come up let it come up this episode. Excuse me. It can still come up. It's where the impression came from is going to come up this episode. So let's just say either way, faded Denver, uh, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:31 and then just look at my Instagram and Twitter and stuff. Stuff's coming. Beautiful. Uh, my capes is here. What? Uh, what?
Starting point is 00:12:39 Uh, what? Uh, at my capes on Twitter. That's Mike. M I C capes, the traditional spelling, uh, my capes on Instagram, that's Mike M-I-C Capes, the traditional spelling.
Starting point is 00:12:46 Mike Capes on Instagram. Mike Capes raps. Mike Capes raps on Instagram. Concrete Dreams, Cold Blooded Volume 1, and now In Spite Of, dot, dot, dot, the latest release. So it's so good. In case anyone's putting two and two together, Mike is a rapper, a musician. And they're all so good in case anyone's putting two and two together mike is a rapper a musician uh and it's inspired they're all so good in spite of is so fucking good i think tired is probably my favorite song on there oh it was the one i've been listening to the most i've been you know i go through little phases but it's so fucking good man thank you bro yeah take my time on it made me puff my chest out
Starting point is 00:13:23 when i was walking around the neighborhood i love it's so fun i'm just walking around like what's up urgency was the one that's number three right you like urgency bro i like urgency i had to fight i had to fight for that one one of the homies like nah man take that one off i'm like fuck really no that was that shit is i won't say his name though it's i will say it's nice that you have people in your circle who will say so even if they're wrong like they were about urgency it's nice that you have people in your circle who are like telling you i'm not feeling this and giving you like feed feedback that's not always positive even if you don't agree with it it's good to get that it's good to get like that kind of feedback you need that type of circle around you to make sure it's different
Starting point is 00:14:03 perspectives you know i mean yeah for sure is it like a small like yeah like having a nice small circle of people you can trust and be like be like for real this isn't going to do anything to our friendship tell me what you think like i need to know yeah we all trying to get better so yeah exactly when we when we put stuff in the group chat it's more so about embracing that embracing the feedback sean tried to wear a yellow hoodie for a while it just didn't look good on him i tried it one time wasn't fucking with him yeah it was bad i did okay i did a subway commercial i was feeling myself and they were like you can keep they go you can keep the hoodie i kept it i wore it one time and ian's like hey what's up with that hoodie and i told him he's like nah and i never i never wore it again
Starting point is 00:14:46 he was like nah it is that is a lot of yellow on white right i'm not saying you were wrong man you're right i don't think yellow is really good on anybody unless it's muted it has to be muted yellow yeah it wasn't it was uh it was yellow yellow yeah it looks good it looks good on jim carrey in the mask and that's about it that's the one and he's got green skin he's green he's got green skin it goes well yeah now mike if you'll if you'll believe this i used to back in the day i had a yellow pair of cross-color shorts that were i don't want to say size 44 and then a yellow cross-colored button-up shirt that i wore nobody ever told me no on that so it took the 90s bro it took 30 more years or whatever it was to get in to be like hey no on the yellow
Starting point is 00:15:30 gear dude like all right it's an accent color yeah it's an accent color yellow is an accent color i just got a yellow hat and uh i'm gonna be wearing it so we'll see what you think of that hope it's not a packers hat or lakers hat no no it's a spitfire they're all spitfire hats it's a yellow spitfire hat can we come around on fuck the lakers right now fuck the lakers before we go any further right now get the fuck out of it mellow too for fucking what why right what are you doing what are you doing why are you doing that they got a geriatric clinic in LA right now, man. Everybody. They really do.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Yeah. Whole team wears orthotics. Whole team wears orthotics. Whole team smells like Icy Hot. That's why the Blazers had to switch jersey sponsors because now. Oh, my God. It's just, I like, I like Russell West westbrook too i always liked him for some reason uh and now he's on the lakers and i'm just like oh do they have to fucking ruin everything that'll
Starting point is 00:16:34 be the wackest ring the whack the wackest ring they're not getting a ring i don't think they are i don't think they are either that's a weird combo man who can shoot on that team like who can ad is their best shooter and he his bones are made out of fucking raw pasta yeah hey you can't stay healthy man i just can't wait for like the the sub tweets that lebron gets off about russell westbrook going like eight for 32 in like pivotal games. It's going to be, it's going to be a tense situation over there. No, he's not going to want to play with them.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Like he's not going to want to play with it. You're not going to want to play with Westbrook. LeBron is going to be looking across the locker room and Russell Westbrook is going to be wearing, like, he's going to be dressed like andre 3000 in the bombs over baghdad video just shooting like 30 percent from he's got shoulder pads on in a basketball locker room he's dressed dressed like he's playing every other kind of sport except basketball yeah what are you gonna have buddy healed what the fuck did i do and i say that loving russell westbrook it's going to be great speaking of basketball players
Starting point is 00:17:45 none other than damian lillard portland trailblazer great called my capes our guest the best rapper in portland just want to point that out yeah much appreciated man just want to point that out if in case any of our listeners haven't gotten the message yet check it please please check his shit out you're really gonna like it we earnestly oh yeah it's it's it's really really really good if you like rap or if you're thinking about trying to like rap this is a wonderful way to do it do you have any shows coming up yeah uh i got one on saturday at a uh at a market and then uh two more this month and then in september october november i got stuff lined up where where can people find that?
Starting point is 00:18:27 Oh, well, I post everything on Instagram. It's MikeCakesRaps. And then Twitter, too. Same thing. That's awesome. There it is. That's where people can find it. Anything else you want to let the people know about before we get into the topic today, Mike? Support independent artists, man.
Starting point is 00:18:43 Buy their music on Bandcamp.camp yeah that's the best place to i send streamers up top but go to bandcamp buy them buy the actual music i appreciate both but that direct money hard hard to hard hard to what hard to you can't pay rent off the likes and it's almost and it's almost just as hard with streaming royalties i had a quite the rude awakening when i did my stand-up album i i had a number in my head for how many people were gonna buy it and how much money that was gonna balance out to you and i was off yeah it was very funny because just from just from when i recorded now my no idea i went in blind and then uh you know i got the first check i was like oh all right a little different than i thought it was going to be so yeah buy it buy it
Starting point is 00:19:29 is what i'm saying definitely yeah you have to you have to be like one of the people we're about to draft to make any money off of uh off of off of streaming yeah i don't know how good it is uh my name is ian carmel at ian carmel on twitter at at Ian Carmel on Instagram, at Ian Carmel on Jewish Civilization VI on the Nintendo Switch. I think my fiancé is getting tired of my Nintendo Switch. It may end up floating in a pool in the backyard at some point. You got to take the ring back after that, bro. I think I'm spending too much time on it. She's being really cool about it and she hasn't said anything, but I can feel her patience running out with the amount of video games I've been playing over the last two weeks.
Starting point is 00:20:06 Does that mean that the pool is back on the list of things that are, I know you kind of sidelined it for a while. I might put a pool in, but now I got to help pay for a wedding, man. So that pool might be sidelined for even longer unless. Malloy's not going to be happy about that, man. And I know a lot of your life goes towards making Malloy happy. He wants me to buy a boat too. All of these unsound economic. What's he going to be happy about that, man. And I know a lot of your life goes towards making Malloy happy. He wants me to buy a boat, too. All of his unsound economic. What's he going to ask?
Starting point is 00:20:28 I also want you to buy a boat. I'd love it if you bought a boat. I'm not going to say it. We have a friend, Michael Malloy, who's always trying to talk me into buying a boat or putting a pool in. At some point, he's going to ask me to open a restaurant that he's not involved in. Just like all the worst economic decisions one can make. Anything on water is a bad economic investment. Completely bad economic investment.
Starting point is 00:20:50 Yeah. Think about it. What about jet skis? What about jet skis? That's a bad investment, bro. You can get your money back on a jet ski, right? Jet skis don't appreciate. Jet skis is an investment item.
Starting point is 00:21:02 You don't appreciate jet skis. I think that's your problem. A jet ski is like a patek philippe or a van gogh man that's that's only gonna appreciate value i think it's i bet you a jet ski is worth what like a vintage pelly pelly is worth like you talk to a person that don't fuck water man so all that shit okay i don't fuck the water, man. So all that shit. Okay. I don't fuck with water. Do you fuck with Pelly Pellys? Do you know where I'm coming from as well? You know, it's a little before my time, but I've seen them. Yeah, I didn't have one either.
Starting point is 00:21:33 It's a lot of leather, bro. It's a lot of leather. I don't know what that is. What's a Pelly Pelly? It's like an Averix. You ever seen an Averix? Oh, have I? Yes.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Yeah. I sure have. Did I want one? I sure did. Everybody wanted an Averix. Yeah, definitely. Yeah. I sure have. Did I want one? I sure did. Everybody wanted an Averax. Yeah, definitely. That name is fucking cool. Averax is a cool.
Starting point is 00:21:51 Averax sounds like a character Wesley Snipes might have played. Uh-huh. Facts. Averax. If you got an Averax on, you could have a Ducati somewhere. Yeah. Within like a three block radius. Like it could just happen.
Starting point is 00:22:04 You can get to it in the dark. You always know where your Ducati is if you have an Averax. it could just happen you can get to in the dark you always know where your dakotas if you have an avarex i don't think you could get one in sioux falls i don't think you could even get an avarex in sioux falls i really don't i got an avarex sweater from uh burlington coat factory shout out to my mom it was a big deal shout out to burlington coat factory for having large sizes back when nobody else did definitely they pioneers they did they really had some hits in there that was looking out except for the like big daddy Arlington Co-Factory for having large sizes back when nobody else did. Definitely. They're pioneers. They did. They really had some hits in there.
Starting point is 00:22:29 They was looking out except for the Big Daddy shirts. The shirts that said Big Daddy across them. Ian is no longer a Big Daddy, man. I'm not, but I carry that pain with me and will forever. Shirts that say Big Daddy, they know you're a Big Daddy. The shirt doesn't need to say it. They can see you. Why do I got to tell you twice?
Starting point is 00:22:44 They can see me. What the fuck? Big like why it's big already bro yeah fuck you it's a 4xl shirt out of necessity they know it's a big daddy shirt don't fuck man that shit killed me i would go to casual male xl and there'd be a t-shirt that says here comes big daddy with like a t-shirt in a basket with steak fries in it. Why do I have to fucking wear that? Why do I have to fucking wear that? My life is hard enough. I can't fucking ride a roller coaster.
Starting point is 00:23:13 Everybody looks at me when I get on a plane. You can definitely buy a suit, Big Daddy, and we put the mustard states on the lapel for you. You're all good, Big Daddy. It's in the back of the store so everybody has to see you walk around. God. Those shirts fucking suck bro big daddy i don't maybe the fucking chinese company that like made those maybe that's a more flattering thing in the original mandarin but once it made the translation it's just like it's terrible bro you've never had a chinese guy
Starting point is 00:23:44 call you big daddy it doesn't feel good i'm walking into and out of a buffet i have and it's terrible bro you've never had a chinese guy call you big daddy it doesn't feel good i'm walking into and out of a buffet i have and it's and it's said in two different tones john give us an impression david stop it trying to give my man's a trope there's gonna be one bummer impression on this podcast and that's gonna be it and it's gonna be when i do rizza eventually it'll come up that's the thing of which we are gathering here today actually kind of two here sean jordan do a rizza impression but also to fantasy draft rappers who act now the way we determine the order of this draft is through a game, a rollicking game of rock, paper, scissors. Play between the three of you.
Starting point is 00:24:27 We throw on shoot. Mike, David, Sean, playing rock, paper, scissors. Here we go. Rock, paper, scissors. Shoot. Oh, Mike. Mike wins. Odd person out.
Starting point is 00:24:38 Oh, you have the odd person out. It's the three-person rock, paper, scissors rules, which means, Mike, as the winner of rock, paper, scissors, it is incumbent upon you to determine the order of today's draft. But before you do that, I will remind you it is a serpentine draft. What is that? What is that? That's a great question for both of you. Sean? It's as the Olympics just happened.
Starting point is 00:24:59 Ah. Boy, I hope I haven't used this. But it's like a game of volleyball. boy i hope i haven't used this but it's like a game of volleyball so it you serve on one side and then it goes over to the other side and then they have to set and then spike it over back over so then the other side uh they bump it and then they set it and then they spike it back over and then they bump it they set it and they spike it back over so it's kind of just you go one side over to the other it hangs out that side for a little bit and then back over to the other it hangs out and then back over there it hangs out until um sweden gets a gold medal was it sweden
Starting point is 00:25:37 sweden seems like a place that would be good at volleyball. It might be. Tall. Tall people. Tall. Tall. Basically, what it means is if you pick fourth in the first round, you pick first in the second round. Gotcha. Back and forth like that.
Starting point is 00:25:55 Micah, that was a good explanation, wasn't it? It was hard to follow. I've done like 200 of them. So they got to be different every time. Practice makes perfect. Mike, with that in mind, what will the order of today's draft be? Well, I'm definitely going first. There it is. David is in Denver.
Starting point is 00:26:13 I associate that with the Nuggets, so you'll go last. There it is. Perfect. Fuck you, dude. That's where I want it. Fuck the Nuggets. Ian goes second because he's from Portland, like portland like me that's right rip city rap city john you you go third sioux falls all right the sky force that's all i needed right there
Starting point is 00:26:34 someone else saying sioux falls in a in a nice light that's fun to hear thank you i appreciate the word sioux is spelled cool yeah it is man that's in there i'm saying x might come up there might be an x in this draft at some point you need to calm down i'm sorry i'm showing your hand man i'm sorry i was so excited to do this like i wanted to do this for a long time this is very fun i'm very excited yeah we've had this one on the hopper for a while i'm excited too yeah we will get to mike's first pick right after this short break this episode of all fantasy everything is brought to you by babble uh if you want to learn a new language the best way is to uproot your entire life you drop everything you're doing just go to a brand new country you figure it out from there but this isn't the talented mr ripley all right you're not Jason Bourne. We're going to talk about some life insurance stuff real quick. Now, 40% of people with life insurance wish they'd gotten their policy at a younger age. Of course you do. I wish I'd done everything at a younger age. That's neither here nor there. Policy Genius, essentially, it just helps you get the life insurance you need fast so you can get on with your life. With Policy Genius, you can find life insurance policies that start at just $292
Starting point is 00:30:00 per year for $1 million of coverage. Some options offer same-day approval and avoid unnecessary medical exams. So I have life insurance. It had nothing to do with me. It's my wife, did everything. But it's tough. It's a hassle to go through and get. You have to research it, which I don't like researching anything. If I buy something, I just go into the person that works at the store and say, what is right in the middle? What's not the best? What's not the worst? And that is how I do it. With life insurance, obviously, you want to be a little bit more careful about that. But how do I know where to start? You know what I mean? I have no idea what to do, where to look. Nobody does. And that's what Policy Genius does. They just go in,
Starting point is 00:30:42 they find and compare all the best quotes for you. They just go to all the nation's top insurers, and then they give you your best options. They're just a few clicks, and then you're going to find your lowest price. And their expert license support team is your advocate. They work for you. They're not getting bonuses. They're not getting anything like that from certain insurance companies. They're not out there being smarmy. They just want to help you out. They're answering the questions, handling the paperwork, shaking the hands, kissing the babies. They're doing it all for you. And if you don't have life insurance, I know it sucks to talk about or to think about, but you're just going to stick people with the bill. You're going to stick your loved ones with
Starting point is 00:31:20 the bill. Don't nobody want to do that. You know what I mean? Get covered. I don't want anyone inheriting my debt. And then they see what I spent money on. Probably. I don't need all that nonsense in my life. Get it covered. Get an insurance policy. Get it handled. And like I said, Policy Genius gives you unbiased advice from a licensed expert support team. They have thousands of five-star reviews on Google, Trustpilot from customers who've felt the benefits of their service. So get on it. Don't wait. Don't hesitate. Don't procrastinate. Oh, yeah, I got a song on Spotify as a rapper. That's neither here nor there. Don't put off life insurance. Make it easy with PolicyGenius. Yeah, we're back. Welcome back to All Fantasy Everything, the only podcast that has ever existed, the only form of audio media that has ever existed, except, of course, for the collected works of one Mike Capes, in spite of, available now on Bandcamp. And if you don't have two dimes to rub together on Bandcamp,
Starting point is 00:32:24 you can grab it on streaming. You can also listen to it on streaming. But if you have a couple extra shekels kicking around, get In Spite Of or any other of his albums. I know y'all got them P-loans out there, man. You know what I mean? That's right. Put it for good.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Use it for good. If you buy one of Mike's albums, you can actually write it off. Tell your accountant I said that. It's a tax write-off. That's actually true. That's actually true. Satire Law covers this whole podcast.
Starting point is 00:32:52 So that's actually true. You can do that. Mike, you have the first pick and the rappers who can act or rappers who act, whether they can or not. That's not everybody who can act. We'll come up. What is that pick going to be? I think I'm going to go Will Smith and just get that out the way.
Starting point is 00:33:10 Oh, yeah. Yeah, man. Yeah, of course. This draft had a clear number one pick, I feel like. He's more of an actor than a rapper, but he did go platinum. He did? A couple times, didn't he? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:23 Because did he go platinum? And he won the first Grammy. He won the first rap grammy and they boycotted right def jam boycotted yeah i think that's right yeah yeah he didn't pick it up i'm pretty sure he he's my michael he's my michael jordan what are you i think i believe you mean our sam buoy he's your sam buoy uh what oh oh my god fuck i thought that was gonna come from this guy over here bro no I believe you mean our Sam Bowie. He's your Sam Bowie. What? Oh, my God. Fuck. I thought that was going to come from this guy over here, Brett. No.
Starting point is 00:33:51 We hurt the ones we love the most. Mike, what's your favorite Will Smith performance? Like movie? Movie. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, let's go. What's your favorite movie? And then what's your favorite song by Will Smith?
Starting point is 00:34:05 And is the answer to both Wild Wild West? Fuck no. That would not be either one insane no way it's a catchy song it is yeah it's a catchy i like uh seven pounds yeah okay i haven't seen seven pounds i gotta watch it that's a different will smith he's not works my friend you will. He's not just playing himself like he does in every other movie. Yeah. So, yeah, that. And your favorite movie by him. Or no, favorite song by him. Favorite song, Just the Two of Us.
Starting point is 00:34:35 Oh, yeah. Now, Dad, this is a very sensitive subject. Yeah. Was that Jaden? Yeah. That wasn't Jaden. That was the older one. It was the older one, right?
Starting point is 00:34:43 Yeah. Yeah. I didn't know there was an older son. was the older one yeah yeah i didn't know there was an older son i thought jayden what i didn't know i didn't know that okay all right do you is will smith a good rapper i we i enjoy his music he made summertime man come on yeah oh shit that's the song yeah yeah i'll pick that one summertime is an astonishingly good song. That song is fantastic. It could come out tomorrow, and it would still be like, this is perfect.
Starting point is 00:35:10 It's a perfect song. The production's amazing. That's cool in the gang sample. He also had that one song. There was Nightmare on My Block. Is that what it is? Nightmare on My Street. Nightmare on My Street's really good.
Starting point is 00:35:21 What's the song? Sometimes I get nervous. It's just to start to stutter. With Shaq on shake shake shake the room tick tick tick boom yeah i love that shit like eight years old that was when he had the he had like a when everyone's wearing the he had like a bulletproof vest and cargo pants like when that look was going on oh yeah yeah yeah yeah like for real it was i feel like he helped create that i mean he helped move that along because that feels like the whole a bulletproof vest and cargo pants is like how they sold the movie bad boys yeah yeah somebody just walked walked into an office at universal and said bulletproof vest and cargo pants and then they were like here you go here's 180 million
Starting point is 00:36:02 dollars yeah yeah what else he had you know the freshman's theme song obviously i count that as a dope song and like all the other like miami and men in black and stuff it was all catchy it's all really good like music you know will smith when will smith needs a hit in the i hope that's king i hope the king uh what is it the where he's venus and serena's dad king uh what richard king richard movie yeah yeah it sounds terrible you're saying a hit movie wise he needs a good movie it's been a minute i thought he needs i think he needs a rap song naz is back he could ghost ride again his son can ghost ride for him jayden's not bad. Yeah, that tape was actually pretty good. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:45 And Willow is incredible. What is Willow? Is she still making music, Willow Smith? Yes, bro. Her last EP is crazy. I gotta listen to that. I haven't heard anything since With My Hair Back and Forth, which it feels like. Oh, you're about to be amazed, dude.
Starting point is 00:36:59 Really? Willow Smith? But Will Smith movie-wise, yeah. I mean, he had that aladdin movie which like maybe on its own would have been watchable but like you can't play a character that robert williams played that shit was insane the whole time i was watching that i was like who let this happen they they've given the romance storyline we're now the genie fucks i don't want to think about the genie fucking i did kind of assume that the genie fucked yeah i assumed the genie fuck but i wanted him to be
Starting point is 00:37:29 like a fly below the radar stick man you know what i mean i didn't need like i like that i like that can run my lap baby never had a friend like me fuck that could mean a lot of different things, depending on how you interpret it. He got to clean that carpet. Yeah. Will Smith, first pick, great pick.
Starting point is 00:37:58 But yeah, been a while since he's had a good movie, but he's made so many good fucking things. He's in the Hall of Fame forever. Oh, it's time for me with the second pick okay i have to take just because there aren't as many women on this list i think is there as as there are men i gotta take queen latifah i gotta get queen la unity that's a unity who you calling a bitch who you calling a bitch yeah dude that's all her queen law and juice so dank i feel like queen latifah comes up a lot on this podcast she comes up she does every three weeks yeah she is a goat big goat vibes she's fucking she's fucking great
Starting point is 00:38:39 i feel like we've talked about this too but that romantic comedy she did with steve martin where you like kind what which one was that bringing down the house bringing down the house and you kind of and you buy it you're like okay yeah just because they're both so i think like a hallmark of a good romantic comedy is you buy even if it's an insane premise you buy it just because of how charismatic the two leads are see now like right my favorite thing that dana has done and let me cut you off my fiance is given you uh now you have you say the sentence my favorite thing about romantic comedies are the hallmark of a good romantic comedy yeah a year ago you wouldn't have been saying that i love i probably love this i love it continue i spent i spent a lot of time thinking about and like sleepless in, for example, which is a movie about a stalker, like a woman who flies across the country to watch a man and his child from across the street.
Starting point is 00:39:31 That's fucking weird. It's fucking weird. It's weird, but you buy it. Good movie. Because Meg Ryan is so charming. And you're like, okay, I love that. She's so charming. I'll buy it.
Starting point is 00:39:41 That's not a weird thing. You know what I mean? And like Queen Latifah is on that level she hasn't done a ton of other rom-coms but she's so charming in that movie where you're like yeah i could buy her and fucking steve martin having a relationship but also like her in chicago oh my god she's fucking amazing in chicago she's like act act live it man that's i think that's her second best rap song oh shit the theme song to living single yeah man that's her second best rap song. Oh, shit. The theme song to Living Single? Yeah, man.
Starting point is 00:40:07 That's a slap. Don't make me do it. You remember it. Go ahead, do it. Go on. I can't do it. I was waiting for one of y'all. You know, it's Living Single. Hey.
Starting point is 00:40:16 In a 90s kind of world. I'm glad I got my girl. Keep your head up. What? Keep your head up. That's right. Whenever this life gets tough, you got to fight. My homegirls standing to my girl. Keep your head up. What? Keep your head up. That's right. Whenever this life gets tough, you got to fight. My homegirls standing to my left and my right.
Starting point is 00:40:30 True blue. We tight like glue. That's a slap, actually. She was really going for it. Hell yeah. Back when theme songs were like not theme songs. They were just songs. Yeah, just songs you would put before a show.
Starting point is 00:40:43 Yeah, when did that change? They used to just be songs. It was like, oh, it it's a dope song i feel like the office blew it for everybody yeah although there was that song somebody mixed of like a little wayne rapping over the office theme that was pretty good whoa i bet that'd be good man that guy really can do anything they i think it also changed with streaming a lot like people now just skip past it we're back in the day they used to have tv theme songs used to be something where they want you they wanted you to be able to hear it in the other room and have time to run over and like get to the show yeah that's true but i mean queen latifah set it off you know fucking i'm looking at imdb right now she's in the bone collector dude she's in the tv show bone collector right she's in the the no the oh what's it called the uh
Starting point is 00:41:32 equalizer oh that's terrible yeah it's on cbs so it's i have to say it's really good it's really good but that's great yeah but yeah her denzel and angelina jolene the bone collector you know i saw her the other day that was good she's in uh stranger than fiction that we is she's the the editor who comes in to like help him out yeah kills that shit she can play so many different like she's got so many different pitches she can like play so many different speeds man queen there's not there aren't a lot of people like queen latifah that's like a that's like a surprise she doesn't have an EGOT yet, like level actor. Right. Yeah, she's great.
Starting point is 00:42:10 Queen Latifah, we've talked about her a lot on this podcast. Sean Jordan. It comes up. My turn. Oh, and Dana Schwartz, who can hear me, wants me to say that she loves Last Holiday. Yeah. Oh, is that with Jack Black? No.
Starting point is 00:42:24 No, that's The Holiday. Last Holiday Oh, is that with Jack Black? No. No, that's The Holiday. Last Holiday is... Hold on a second. I love Girls Trip. That's what I was... Oh, yeah. Girls Trip's amazing. That's a good one.
Starting point is 00:42:34 Oh, Last Holiday. Is that one where she thinks she's dying? No. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She only has a few weeks left to live, so she goes on one last crazy vacation. Last Holiday. They wanted John Candy for that, and they put queen latifah in it instead and was still good that's the level of queen latifah i bet you that could have happened in a lot of movies you could have
Starting point is 00:42:53 been joking or serious there's equal parts and automobiles i like steve martin and queen latifah all right queen latifah man meatballs she's a queen man come on oh sean jordan time for your first pick tupac oh of course yeah absolutely he got me out of there. I was going to pick him next. Tupac, I think, would have been a better actor.
Starting point is 00:43:29 He's my favorite rapper of all time. Not everybody shares that opinion, but me personally, hands down, to me, it's by far and away. But I think he would have honestly been a better actor later in life. I think he was poised to go that route and i think his roles show it like he if you watch above the rim there's not a lot of good acting in that movie and it's just too like tupac and bernie leon was in that movie dude don't do that yeah well i'm just saying like it's not it's a good movie i love that movie don't do that but don't do that to leon i'm not doing anything to leon yeah trust me wood harris was in that movie i love that movie but i'm just saying it was and marlon went yeah you're that's a wild way marlon way is terrible let's start dude he's so cool and that's what i'll preview marlon
Starting point is 00:44:16 wayans is not good in that movie but that movie is fantastic you gotta be a good looking dude to be named wood though huh he is a good looking dude he is that's what i'm saying like wood harris you gotta look like wood harris to be like if you were like a regular looking dude and you're like hey this is my friend wood you know big stick yeah hey you do know you do you know his brother is wood harris his brother's an actor. His brother is the bald guy from the Madea movies. Remember he was in a wheelchair? He's bald headed and he was beating his wife and shit and then
Starting point is 00:44:53 he gets hurt somehow. Bro, he's on Law and Order too, I think. I gotta look it up. Hold on, I'm looking it up too. I haven't seen a ton of Madea movies. I didn't even think about that he had a sibling. You probably recognize him. Steve Harris. Oh, this guy. Steve Harris. How do you go from Wood to Steve?
Starting point is 00:45:12 Wood and Steve, dude. Or Steve to Wood. I think Steve came first. That's his brother? He's on the practice. Blow my... Wow, okay. Wood, dude. Oh, Wood hair says real name is sherwin okay that makes more sense but that makes like way more sense anyway tupac he was fantastic tupac movie above the rim for
Starting point is 00:45:42 sure oh i love that movie and the soundtrack because he kills that soundtrack it's got my two favorite tupac's well it could change any day but pour out a little liquor and pain are so dope to pour out a little liquor you want to see a seventh grader who thinks he's tougher than he is get me get me listening to pour out a little liquor and just walking around the mall it dude that song will make you feel 11 feet tall it is so it is such a good song it was on i think it was on the thug life cd like he was trying to push them like the saint lunatics you know he tried he tried he did try and hey they're still around man they do dj vlad videos but i'm just saying like that song is so good and like how were they getting those colors were they also dying them or was that
Starting point is 00:46:26 just a saint lunatics thing oh you ever heard that song um uh cool with it by murphy lee that's a good ass song yeah there's some good saint lunatics affiliate songs yeah anyway i died just but like in the end of above the rim to a murphy lee song yeah i just found out about it's really good but just what yeah what was that day what were the stones that led you to that island walk us through the archipelago i bet one of you two brought it up at some point i did not for sure i haven't brought up murphy lee in a long time hey yo i'm laid back and funky but i'm cool with it you know that song it's really good anyway i only remember the hook song.
Starting point is 00:47:05 The end of Above the Rim when Marlon comes up and shoots Tupac and pour out a little liquor's playing. It's just, I don't know. That's right there for me. That whole scene. Dope song. Dope actor. I feel like Tupac was acting all the time, though, too.
Starting point is 00:47:23 His greatest role might be Tupac Shakur. Yeah, yeah. That's what I'm saying. Like, fuck, that's where we go. No, we're going to squash that. I thought you were going to say juice or something, bro. No, no, no. Oh, wait.
Starting point is 00:47:35 I forgot about juice. Actually, that was. Well, juice is like, you know, what everybody says turned Tupac kind of nuts because he like fell into Bishop too hard and like started. That's what they say. Kind of crazy after he played Bishop. like you know he was in poetic justice that movie sucks except for oh yeah that movie is bad bro oh my god when was the last time you watched it hey look man it's just classic man oh yeah it is classic but it's bad the same way i love belly
Starting point is 00:48:02 i love belly i'm not saying it's like- Poetic Justice is terrible. Belly is terrible. I swear to God. I'm going to tell you why Belly is terrible. I swear to God. It's shot very beautifully. It's like-
Starting point is 00:48:12 Yeah, it's beautiful. It's like Queen of Slim, how Queen of Slim is a terrible movie, but it's shot well. Yeah. I didn't watch it. I saw that Freddie Gibbs video a bunch. It's not good, but it is gorgeous. No, I'm being harsh on Poetic Justice. It's not, but it just doesn't hold up the way bad it's pretty bad but tupac is a good part of it
Starting point is 00:48:30 the name is justice and she likes poetry that's why they named it that it's very on the nose but anyway tupac tupac for days there it is number one pick for me tupac it is weird that that's what john singleton did after boys in the hood i will say that he went from boys in the hood when he was like 25 and like a USC student. And then the next thing he makes his poetic justice. Do you think you got Janet Jackson who doesn't act at all? Yeah. You know,
Starting point is 00:48:54 what's funny is it was like, there was like a skeet, like truffle butter thing when they could say Poonani on like VH one before anybody knew what it was. And cause she'd be like, you want to smell my Poonani? And I'm a kid like, Oh, they can't say that on vh1 but they did for years until someone was probably
Starting point is 00:49:12 hipped him like hey you know that means vagina like oh well all right we can't play it on vh1 at noon on a sunday anyway tupac do you think i mean like going back to him acting how much of it of like do you think of being like a successful rapper is creating a character a little bit like he created the whole character i mean he he did create a character and he was one of the most successful rappers there was i think i think he was him i think he just got swept up by the wrong influences shook night we could just say Suge Knight. Because he was very pro-black and all that shit beforehand. And he got shot, went to jail, got that case, came out,
Starting point is 00:49:56 and got with big Suge Knight and turned him into a super blood. So then people take one small aspect of your personality and start really pushing you down that street kind of thing too hard, and he fell into it? You look at what Tupac, there's that interview with him when he was in prison when he when his hair was growing out and stuff and like yeah the stuff that he said he knew he always knew what he was talking about like there's an interview with him where he's i mean years ago and he's just like you look at someone with 20 million dollars and this person has nothing of course some shit's gonna go down and you're like I mean, he always knew what he was talking about.
Starting point is 00:50:25 Are you talking about the one from when he was a kid? Mm-hmm. Well, I was mixing up two interviews, but yeah. He just always knew what he was talking about. And I just, he,
Starting point is 00:50:33 I don't know. I just, I love Tupac. I've always liked him. I think he's the best. And I think he would have been an amazing actor. And I think he would have ended up doing good stuff, I think,
Starting point is 00:50:42 in life. I don't know. He just got swept up. Yeah, by like a shug night. I mean, that's hard to do when you're like, you're rapping about it all the time.
Starting point is 00:50:48 And then you'd like, it's accessible for you to live that life. So you start living it. I mean, he was, he was 24 when he died. That's crazy. It's insane.
Starting point is 00:50:57 It's insane. And the amount of the stuff he did, I wasn't even paying for the bus yet when I was 24. The only way I could have died at 24 is alcohol poisoning or like eating too much old spaghetti factory like if there were a number of jager bombs that you could have died from that's what would have done it for me when i was 24 mike do you think do you feel any pressure though to put like as a rapper do you feel like there is a way a pressure to like portray yourself a certain way in order to like gain like
Starting point is 00:51:25 gain notoriety or like access to certain things or do you think it's more important to be like an authentic artist i think it's most important to just be authentic to yourself even outside of an artist you know i mean i feel like shit if you want to stand out you be yourself we all one ain't no two people alike so i never feel pressure to when i was younger and doing music yeah but i feel like as you do this more you find purpose in it sure it's like it's not you know i'm okay with being myself 100 i'd rather be meeting somebody else i've found that's true in stand-up comedy too is like at some point like all the only thing you really have is that you are you and if you try to like do something else it's like well they can replicate that but what they
Starting point is 00:52:08 can't replicate is like individuality and like unique voices and stuff like that facts that's just girl like growing up i mean just being like a dude at growing up and now i'm just like i cry all the time and i talk about it like embracing who you are and what you're about you know that's i think it's just growing up i think tupac would have yeah i think he would have grown up anyway now i just start crying right now you you start crying i don't want to nah nah the day i have a kid i'm definitely gonna cry oh dude i was crying it's it's a i mean that's a whole nother thing but i mean just the other night i was she was sleeping i was just looking at her crying i was just she's beautiful she's breathing and i was just like i can't believe it's a fucking
Starting point is 00:52:54 human you made a human yeah and and she's doing all right sean must have another kid somewhere he doesn't know about because he's been crying the whole time i've known him damn dude i mean that in a good way and i thought we were friends rip my face off we're dear friends david bory time for your first and second picks as it is a serpentine draft all right so i don't know for first if i want to go like somebody who's making the most money or somebody who's like got the most acting gigs oh yeah i think i'm just gonna go for acting gigs amount just like as a guy who has turned himself from a very notable rapper to like a straight up working actor yeah that's method man yeah yeah method man is in everything all the time i feel like belly is gonna come up a lot but him and belly is like my favorite from state to state like yeah man his camo suit forget about it yeah yeah man method man is just
Starting point is 00:53:54 like he's like a legitimate actor like he shows up and stuff i was i just i just watching watching power book a ghost but did you see the show teenage bounty hunters that was on netflix no you were talking about here's an example of him just becoming a working actor right because that's like a just a netflix series it had nothing to do with rap or anything like that he was just playing like a bounty hunter in this netflix like comedy that was geared towards that teenage girls and he was fucking great in it see that's what i'm saying is like because a lot of times rappers come in and it's on some rap shader like yeah you got this part because you're a rapper some corny man is yeah but method man is just
Starting point is 00:54:34 an actor he's like at this point he's just an actor what is it also is it he's like he's a method man like six three and like perfect he's just like yeah he's really tall yeah just like a perfect looking dude like he's very castable women love that guy yes they do our friend Marcelo yeah he didn't even know her name he called her tall bitch for months she loved it
Starting point is 00:54:57 I saw it I saw it I went to the taping and he's like what up tall bitch i was like this like this guy's amazing that's amazing he's good he's really good and shit he was great i mean he was in the wire of course he was like fucking great in that oh my gosh he's been on law and order yeah like he's just everywhere he just is he was in fucking garden state yeah that fun little bellhop rolling garden state that he had you know what i mean yeah he's just like in all kinds of shit
Starting point is 00:55:29 i still think how high is funny he was funny and how high is still funny yeah yeah man met the man all day you start it's you start to see like that the qualities that make you like a like a success in certain arenas can translate to others where it's like oh of course this dude who was like a prolific and amazing like rapper then took those same qualities to like acting and stuff and like poured himself into it the same way sure because that's that's how you know someone's like really good but also like really working at it is they take those small roles like if you go look at his imdb it's like he's in a sketch on inside amy schumer and then he's doing like he's doing like a two episode arc on this like Fox sitcom.
Starting point is 00:56:08 And then he's doing like this kind of, it's like what we want to do. You know what I mean? It's like those kind of acting arcs and shit. No, yeah. That's what I mean is like he clearly takes it seriously and is like about it. You know what I mean? Yeah. He's just like, he's a real working actor and it's not not corny at all
Starting point is 00:56:25 and i appreciate that and he was in belly and he was in belly a lot of my picks were i was gonna say i could have just picked belly as like an umbrella yeah noz is a terrible actor he is and he wants it so bad we'll have that conversation in a matter of minutes i bet that's one of my favorite rappers. There's only one other rapper who I think wanted to be an actor worse than Nas. He's not going to come up in. All right. He might.
Starting point is 00:56:54 I have a guess, but we'll get to it. Yeah. I bet you know. Is it pain in the ass? I didn't know he was an actor. He's more of an actor turned rapper. Pain in the ass, if you want to be honest about it. Yeah, yeah yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:57:05 David your second pick second pick gotta gotta gotta get him he's still on the board it's big money I'm picking Ice Cube yeah yeah yeah yeah of course now indulge me favorite Ice Cube song favorite Ice Cube movie I love this I mean fuck favorite Ice Cube
Starting point is 00:57:22 one song see I bring it up because natural born killers side connection song yeah sure badam yeah yeah that's so good that very specific time in life that song takes me to yeah it's funny but it's the dang song this isn't like his most lyrical are we gonna go around sure yeah oh yeah not as most lyrical but like you can do it just like fucking really loud when you're drunk come on yeah man that song came out before i had sex and man did it make me want to have sex yeah but not the kind of sex you can have in your first like quarter of your sexual career you just look down you're like i didn't do it like he did no yeah she did not put her back into it or i did not put my back into it
Starting point is 00:58:12 i've never used these muscles like this this is more of a no vaseline situation if we're being honest today was a good day too yeah man hit her with the bop gun real quick oh we gotta run you know how we do it oh oh oh oh natural born killers is my favorite cube song for days cube and dre i love that yeah that's fair um favorite ice cube movies friday dude i mean it's you know it's gotta be they gotta be menace or not menace boys in the hood boys in the hoods up there yeah uh fridays are up there uh i even like three kings i love three kings yeah the movie is fun that's one of those sneaky like critics love that movie it's one of those sneaky ones that looks like it's not going to be good, but it's good.
Starting point is 00:59:07 I'm mad none of you said Anaconda, bro. Anaconda's good too. Sean, I do have to point out that Mike said fuck critics in spite of an album that you can get now on Bandcamp. Everybody should go ahead. What's the exact line? I really like it as someone who does not like critics. I think it was definitely fuck critics. Yeah, fuck critics. Again, in spite of available now streaming and on bandcamp make sure you pick it up all family everything hell yeah ice cube what's the the where he's the police chief the fucking 21 jump street 21 jump street he's very funny in that oh he was good in both of those he was really funny in those and you got barbershop i was just gonna say i also like barbershop never saw beauty yeah man ice cube he wrote friday like he wrote that's crazy he hadn't
Starting point is 00:59:53 wrote a movie that's crazy he just that's amazing we know he wrote friday because we saw the movie straight out of compton where he was sitting at the computer writing friday saying you got knocked the fuck out hey baby how's friday coming like if you're in the real world if if if that's your wife she would she'd be like hey how's the movie or script or whatever she wouldn't be like how's friday coming that's ridiculous wouldn't you turn around and be like stop calling it friday just call it the movie or whatever what do you what are you it's being untitled ice cube project come on hey baby how's friday coming stop interrupting my process that's how it's coming how about that does anybody else wonder though i feel like dj poo must have had a lot to do with it too
Starting point is 01:00:36 oh sure yeah he's hilarious absolutely you know i didn't know he was uh writing a partner in that until like a couple years ago i had no idea and i also didn't know he was a writing partner in that until like a couple years ago. I had no idea. And I also didn't know he was red. I had no idea. No idea. That's like the best acting in the world. Showing my ignorance. But yeah, Ice Cube is my second pick. Yeah, he's amazing.
Starting point is 01:00:55 He's a really funny actor. Don't love a lot of the posts he makes about my people, the Jews. But I just feel like there's a couple of wires crossed there. That might happen working in Hollywood. I'm not going to judge them too hard i don't know i don't know i don't know they do call the holly weird a lot of people but having said that i definitely would have taken them had i gotten back around to me yeah i love ice cube uh sean jordan time for your second pick see now this is tough because i feel like there was kind of like a mount rushmore and they're gone.
Starting point is 01:01:25 Oh, no. Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J are both still available, Sean. They're not in a lot of movies, though, man. They're in enough. You've never seen Big Money Hustlers? They're in Big Money Hustlers. Or the Western version, Big Money Hustlers. Hustlers, David.
Starting point is 01:01:39 Excuse me. Excuse me. I'm going to DMX. Got to go DMX. Really? Yeah, yeah. um i'm gonna dmx gotta go dmx really yeah yeah and i'll go because so i'm thinking romeo must die and exit wounds for days and then belly which will again come up a bunch but then like dmx just again a very specific part of my life but man did i listen to a lot of dmx you know what i'm talking about did you watch a lot of exit wound dude i had we used to call it
Starting point is 01:02:05 dmx at wounds because i had the soundtrack and you still do call it dmx i still do call it dmx at wounds that's changed ain't no sunshine when it's on david don't talk to me about did i all i remember about exit wounds was like every one of his lines was like a rap ad lib you know what's funny is like every single line was like what diamonds you know what i remember about those movies is he was wearing the whole time he had on what appeared to be wet leather the whole movie every frame you're like somebody dry off x's leather before they shoot he's wearing a white beater underneath with like just yeah with like a padlock on you're like dude somebody dry that man off
Starting point is 01:02:52 he didn't even he showed up with that he brought his own wardrobe there is broken glass all over the set and he is soaked and he's wearing leather help that man out now dmx man um i love him i love him in belly i i think belly is a good movie i love him in belly and i think he's he's he's hilarious in belly he's gnarly he's he it's belly is the closest they got to being like just be dmx i guess and he was like all right fine tommy is dmx he's like the closest version you're gonna get what. What's the one where he comes back and he has a tape or whatever and he's telling his story in this old school
Starting point is 01:03:29 Cadillac. He kills a prostitute with battery acid and a needle and all types of shit. A movie he was in? Ah, fuck. I thought that was a movie. And his son is the one who ends up killing him.
Starting point is 01:03:49 I will have seen that by tomorrow morning if you find a name out i'm about to find it yeah man um and then i love in like yeah you get your romeo must dies and your exit wounds and he he knows karate you're like okay all right let's i mean i'll live in the fantasy world but you know it's ridiculous i'll play you want to play a game here, Sean? Sure. Yeah, I do. DMX has a lot of famous roles, but then he kept acting and he was in some stuff that was more directed DVD.
Starting point is 01:04:16 Oh, no, don't do him like that. I'm going to play a game with you. Was this a DMX movie or not? Okay. Wait, so you're just making shit up or it's a real DMX movie? Either it's a DMX movie or not? Okay. Wait, so you're just making shit up or it's a real DMX movie? Either it's a DMX movie or it's not, and you've got to tell me. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 01:04:32 Lords of the Street. DMX movie. DMX movie. Lords with a Z of the Street. Lords with an S. Lords with an S. Originally titled Jump Out Boys. He played a character named Thorn.
Starting point is 01:04:43 Thorn. All right. Derailed. titled jump out boys he played a character named thorn thorn all right derailed all right now stop there's a rapper in that movie but i don't think it's dmx so i'm gonna say not a dmx movie not a dmx movie you're right yeah but that movie's gonna come up trust me lockjaw rise of the Kulev Serpent. What? Shaggy 2 Dope movie. No, that's a DMX movie. Straight to DVD. God damn it. He calls it straight to DMX when it goes to DVD. I found it.
Starting point is 01:05:14 Okay. Never Die Alone. Oh, I remember the ad for that. That sounds like he came up with the title and they made a movie around it. He plays a character named King David in it. It's a good movie, bro. Dude, and David Arquette's in it. I might watch that. No joke.
Starting point is 01:05:30 I might watch that. So lately, Max has been going to sleep like pretty much about nine. And then I'm up till, I don't know, midnight or so, just having my chill time. It might be spent watching a DMX movie with headphones in my remote tonight. That's how I got to do it. So I don't wait. Are you sure you don't want to wait for her to be like, you know, become aware of her surroundings and watch it with her?
Starting point is 01:05:49 I feel like if I get it in there on the subconscious level, like I'm trying to do, then she'll just be aware of it when, you know, it'll be like, she's always known DMX. Yeah. Like you, like you're, you know, you've always lived in water so you can swim kind of thing. Yeah. Tiny Lister also in, in, uh, never die alone. I still got the bike rest in peace to both of these guys yeah man so dmx dmx it wounds all day amazing uh time for my
Starting point is 01:06:15 second pick there's still some talent on the board here there is some talent on the there's a lot of rap talent on the board not a lot of acting chops left on the board i don't think i'm going there's some there's some acting chops i'm gonna take somebody who i like a lot more as an actor than who i like as a rapper but i'm gonna take donald glover oh damn i didn't even he did not make i didn't even think good job i didn't even think of that that's a goon yeah that's a real good one he's really atlanta of course amazing show the martian he's funny in the martian he is funny in the mart he plays the frazzled scientist right in the martian yeah like the guy who comes up it's almost weird to be like he's actually good in this movie
Starting point is 01:07:00 because i mean he was kind of an actor first but although he was kind of doing both at the same time but he's also like he's got some songs that you know that are like pretty good dude he had that what was the jam where everybody was animated like migos and everybody's animated in that summer it feels like summer that's a good song feels like summer i love that song that was like my summer song like three years ago i love it feels like summer that and uh sober i'll never be sober yeah he's got good videos too and then redbone obviously i don't know that's not rap that's like yeah that song is really good no he's a great i i don't know why people started or am i crazy do people start giving him like saying you're a whack if you
Starting point is 01:07:37 listen to childish gambino or is it am i just making that up i don't really i'm not a fan like that but he's he's talented though but you're not like it's not like you hear it and you're like oh i don't like it it's just like it's out there just not for you i like your stuff that's not rapping way way more sure when he hit those notes in redbone i didn't believe it i had to watch it like on i had to watch him on like late night because i'm like there's no fucking way that's donald glover singing oh yeah he hit him at the grammys too didn't he didn't he like singing the grammys yeah that's sick man don't you write that grammys in you don't remember it's funny you should bring that up that's a great pin yeah you have a great pin sir
Starting point is 01:08:15 is it glide does it glide well when you put it on it's a uniball absolutely it's a uniball i use that to write the grammys and uh Don't ever let me to your house. I'm taking all the pens. It's a Pentel RSVP. You can have one. RSVP is the best pen on the market all day, man. I'm saying that's the only one I write with. Well, no, that's not true.
Starting point is 01:08:36 Because I also... You got a feather pen. Yeah. You got a feather pen. Yeah, it's kind of true. It depends on who's getting the letter but i might i feel like you're a head writer of a late night television show you could get away with being like oh no i only use quills i could i could become a quill guy i don't think anybody
Starting point is 01:08:58 would be like oh fuck him because you gotta be like i got the emmy i got me and we need the monologue done as soon as i'm done writing it all right you'll have it and then you just dip the pen in the quote all right i gotta write this and then hand it to one of the assistants to dictate all right and then a dragon has to seal it and then it goes to your desk just a wax seal on it man i might have to become that guy i don't know where that ends though probably at a renaissance fair i mean you get a you get you get a falcon and you move to the woods that's not bad with force the wood terrace yeah and he talks he talks to the falcon in falcon yeah
Starting point is 01:09:37 that's force what it could do in a falcon noise i've come to the woods i'm forest in the woods oh shit jenner so oh donald glover actor uh i never saw him as lando calrissian i never saw solo but you know i don't think he's why people didn't like it. No, it was all right. It was all right. Mike, time for your second and third picks. Y'all left some.
Starting point is 01:10:11 Y'all left some. It sucks when you go first and you have to wait so long. It does. Yeah, there are some big ones on the board. There's some fruit on the tray for sure. Hey, man. There's two, like, huge. You know, hey, man,
Starting point is 01:10:22 I got to take one of them big guys off the board, man. That's LL Cool J. Yeah. Oh, yeah, dude. Take of them big guys off the board, man. That's LL Cool J. Yeah. Oh, yeah, dude. Take LL Cool J off the board. I have to. Of course. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:29 Yeah, yeah, yeah. The only reason I didn't take him one pick ago is because his hat is like a shark's fin. That's the only reason. Oh, I thought it was because of Head Sprung. No. You know what I realized? He calls himself Big Willie in that song, Or he says like Big Ellie or whatever. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:47 Big Ellie. He says a lot of crazy shit. He says a lot of crazy shit. Period. End of sentence. What song is that? Is that the doing it song? Or is that the roundaway girl?
Starting point is 01:10:57 No, that's Headsprung. Oh, Headsprung. Oh, Headsprung. He says, he, she, bloatitious. He she blow tissues. Do you think he wrote down blow tissues? Like, do you think he wrote D L O W with a quill? Thought about it.

Fuck. gotta take a break now he was dressed like a fucking you got served character in that video too yeah dude fuck i thought a marion was gonna come out man i saw like a video of him talking about that and apparently instead of he she he's saying is he but just like heavily stylized or or or hear me out or there was a pr representative who got into uncle l's ear he was like why don't you why don't you say that you weren't saying what you were really saying do that on the news from here on out i feel like missy elliott probably wrote that yeah man around the way girl that song still i love it and he that was another we tried we

I'm just saying, those are my IST picks, though, for songs and movie. New Jack City and Colors. Colors, that song. Colors. That'll make me want to fight right now.
Starting point is 01:16:58 You don't know me. I am a nightmare walking psychopath. Psychopath. King of my jungle, just a gangster stalking. It's so dank. I was listening to the other day. I forgot how much I like is Six in the Morning. Police at my door.
Starting point is 01:17:13 Shadida squeaking across the bathroom floor. That's the song I was going to pick. What is the name of that song? Six in the Morning. I thought it was going to be something crazy. Can someone please tell me the name of that what is that song called and what's the movie mike what are you picking can i just pick law and order svu yeah it's not a movie absolutely i love that did you ever see that movie i think gary bucey was in it's called surviving the game maybe with ice tea where he's like a human, where they
Starting point is 01:17:45 hunt a human and he's the human they hunt. No. Yeah, it's crazy. He has like big gnarly dreads in it. And he is like, I think it's called Surviving the Game. It is called Surviving the Game, yeah. They pick him up and like they put him in a forest, essentially. And they're like, all right, we're hunting you.
Starting point is 01:17:59 And then he marks everyone. It's a dank movie. It's him and Rutger Hauer, dude. Rutger H howard that's who else is in it charles s dutton rock rocks wood harris's brother yeah what else is brother f murray abraham's in it and john c mcginley too that's a packed cast dude i just watched the first season of rock i forgot how good that movie charles s dutton's no joke man that show was dope rock was really funny and he's in menace too he's a great part of menace which will come up
Starting point is 01:18:29 later so don't worry about it but i don't see you don't see a lot of dudes that look like ice tea with that exact style you don't i love the stories about ice tea i get most of them from david but like the one where he like he didn't know that rappers didn't use their own guns and stuff, so he just had his own guns. The cover of Power, that's his Uzi and that's his girl. And his whip. Somebody gonna say 50 Cent? Probably.
Starting point is 01:18:56 He's bad at acting. By the way, since his name came up, is that the other person who you said wanted it more than him and Nas? That's what I was thinking of. That guy really wanted to be in movies. No, there is one other guy who, I mean, you guys aren't going to pick him. You don't know that.
Starting point is 01:19:14 I guarantee you haven't seen any of the movies that this man is in. David, that's a bold statement. I'll save it. I'll save it. I mean, that's a bold, you know me, that's a bold enough statement. I know, that's true. I'll save it. I'll save it.
Starting point is 01:19:24 I'll save it. Man, Ice-T's had a long and interesting life, dude. He was in the military too, right? Yeah. He was also a gymnast in high school. Whoa, what? Yeah. Ice-T's a crazy guy.
Starting point is 01:19:36 Ice-T's a wild guy, man. He's a gang member. Motherfucking drug dealer. Pimp. He used to diamond thief. He used to rob jewelry stores. Honorable discharge from the Marines. He used to die a diamond. He used to he used to rob jewelry stores. Honorable discharge from the Marines. He's an orphan.
Starting point is 01:19:49 Bro, his obituary is going to be very interesting when he does. Yeah. He drinks breast milk. Yeah, he drinks breast milk. I saw that this week. He drinks chocolate milk because his wife is Coco. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:06 He loves Coco, man. He loves hot Coco with marshmallows. He's fucking doing it. I bet he's made so much money off of SVU, too. Oh, yeah. And he talks so much shit on Twitter and don't give a damn. Oh, yeah. He's the best at Twitter.
Starting point is 01:20:20 I love it. I love people that are on Twitter where it does not affect them at all like twitter to ice tea is like what do i give a fuck about twitter so he just says what he wants and it's awesome he has a tweet about it when he's like i show up talk a little shit and then log off and it's like that's the only way to have fun that's the only way to do it in a healthy way that's the game ice tea man that's a great fucking pick. Good job. That's sick. Body count, too. Not just a rapper. This dude is different. And he did it all with a lisp.
Starting point is 01:20:51 He did it all with a lisp and a perm. Well, a lot of it with a perm. I could do a lot with a perm, too. I'd like to see you with a perm. That's not a hindrance. Nobody was like, oh, my man's got a perm. He can't do great. I think if I had a perm, it wouldn't help me out a lot i think it would hinder you look like the guy who brings me fresh ink for my quill if you had a perm i don't think
Starting point is 01:21:14 if i got a perm i don't ever think i would ever say ever yeah that was easier after i got a perm you would definitely look like a a fancy ass french bike rider yeah like i would cross the street if i saw you coming just you regular you but also a perm i would cross the street to get i would because i don't know what that guy's on that's too much of a wild card that guy in that spitfire hat with that permanent yeah yeah maybe if i was trying to convince people that i was like a not that good at being a pimp pimp then i would be like yeah it was easier with a perm for people to think that i saw a guy with a permit uh costco the just the other day yeah how was that he had a permanent one short so i was very confused it was like three different errors it was a while it was a while i couldn't tell where he was coming what was he buying what if
Starting point is 01:22:14 he had a grocery cart full of persimmons dude that's a twitter handle russell persimmons east bay from the waist down baby russell persimmons you might see that on twitter when persimmon season hits which is like a month away i did see him in the produce though first but then i saw him over by the supplements. Oh man. Was it me? Or is it you? It's me. It's me.
Starting point is 01:22:48 It's you. I'm on my third pick. Ooh. All right. I'm going to take them. I'm going to take from the Fast and Furious franchise and also from acting really well on his own videos. Chris ludicrous bridges.

Starting point is 01:25:12 fucking silly dude his videos are hilarious he's funny in his videos non-daddy davido's yeah he's great and i feel like his character here's the thing that speaks to him being a good actor his character in the fast and the furious movies that's not how i that's not his rap persona at all it's like a very different dude i feel like that's not how he really is in real life he's playing like kind of a he's like a tech nerd right by now he's like a tech nerd yeah like a really like ludicrous's character in the fast and furious movies would think ludicrousris the rapper was silly and frivolous. He's a grown up. He's a grown up. And that's
Starting point is 01:25:49 Range right there. It's a man with range. Feels like a midget is hanging from my necklace. And then he had that in the video. Yeah, he did. Was that stand up? Yeah, he could really do it all. God. Ludacris, dude. Chris Ludacris Bridges. Sean Jordan. Sean Ludacris Jordan. Starting point is 01:26:55 funny the best part of getting to the greek he's so fucking funny in that movie it is hilarious to me so fucking funny his favorite show show is The Biggest Loser. Him and his family are watching it. They're all wearing Kobe jerseys. It's Biggest Loser time. It's daddy's favorite show. It's daddy's favorite show. He's fucking hilarious in that movie.
Starting point is 01:27:16 I need to watch it. Dude, you gotta watch it. He's great at it. I got two kookaroos. Yeah. You got no kookaroos? I got two kookaroos. Is it Jeffrey?
Starting point is 01:27:24 Yeah, man. yeah yeah you got no kookaroos i got two kookaroos is it jeffrey yeah man and like the music just like he when he gets it right to me is a really good rapper he doesn't always get it right to me but when he does it's fantastic um so and he's responsible for enough music that i you know i'll i'll call that too but so pound for pound puff daddy all day. What's the song I'm thinking of? What's the one, the big one with him and, um, that,
Starting point is 01:27:48 you know, the sun don't shine forever. Victory. Victory. Yeah. Victory. That's still that song where Busta Rhymes plays a gargoyle in the music video.
Starting point is 01:27:56 Oh yeah. I forgot the video was huge. That song where they had to put the mic in another room because Busta was rapping so loud that they're like, I guess just move it in the other room that video where dennis hopper hunts p diddy from a helicopter dude speaking of surviving the game yeah i remember that because it was all over like mtv as it was like at the time it was one of the most expensive videos of all time yeah it had like a huge world premiere right yeah it was awesome was it like hate me now yeah yeah yeah level of production that when that came out and he walked it back and then more money more problems he's great in
Starting point is 01:28:30 all about the benjamins all about the benjamins fantastic shout out to jada kiss shout out to jada kiss i don't know if you guys saw that but he's gonna live forever man that shit was this shit was incredible sean brother love i think he calls himself now combs david time for your third pick i mean i gotta pick drizzy right oh shit oh yeah damn yeah for sure i thought i was gonna be able to get him later too yeah it's come on he's has i mean i haven't watched degrassi i haven't either but it's a good show him in sketches and acting in his own music videos dude and all that shit he's so funny i still think he's gonna i still think he's gonna pull the flip i think you're right i think he's gonna end up if he's
Starting point is 01:29:18 gonna be in a gary marshall type valentine's day new year's eve whatever one of those movies he's gonna be in one of those romantic comedies and murder it and then he's going to be an actor like all of a sudden and then he's going to get a dramatic role he's going to kill that like james bond yeah man drake drake's bond dude that'd be so tough i never even thought about that he's canadian which is a protectorate of england it fucking counts he could be james bond yeah i can see time for a canadian james bond he's so funny in his fucking videos he's so funny what's the one what's the one you love sean with uh chris brown he's so funny in it it's um blind as a bat it's the you love me no the one with chris brown though it's um

Starting point is 01:30:47 Boy, who said that to him? KG? KG, apparently. God, that's gnarly. Honey, that two-year-old's taste is good. That's so good. Just to tell you. That's one of those where you're like, ooh.
Starting point is 01:31:02 Oh, man. If that's true, if that whole story is true that's buck kevin garnett said some stuff man yeah yeah i bet i bet he has he's normally they look at if i'm not i don't want to repeat it on here but the stuff he said to charlie villanueva was out of line even kevin kevin got he had a citizen about the eyebrows right it was the yeah yeah yeah the eyebrows the no hair anywhere maybe some kind of medical condition that causes you to have that same thing okay chemotherapy lots of lots of stuff just to get an edge on the basketball court but it worked you
Starting point is 01:31:34 know anything is possible anybody that wears rubber bands to pop themselves when they fuck up on the court is crazy that's fucked up that's like the guy in the Da Vinci code putting that metal thing around his leg, but on the basketball court, that's Paul Bettany. I do know that's Paul Bettany. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:51 I wouldn't think Paul Bettany is, is a, is it such a tiny role as a psychopath? And now he's Paul Bettany. Is that your next pick? I was vision vision. Don't rap, bro.
Starting point is 01:31:59 No. Okay. That's right. Uh, who is your next pick though? Your fourth pick. Oh, wait,
Starting point is 01:32:03 no, it's my fourth pick. David, your fourth pick. I picked Drake's my fourth pick david your fourth pick i think drake my fourth pick listen i'm doing this off the strength of one movie oh shit yeah yeah that's what we're getting to but i don't give a fuck because it's one of my favorite movies i'm taking cameron because of paid in full i can't believe paid in full it just came up we've been doing this an hour and a half paid in full just comes up that's my favorite movie bro david can you show him the paint or

Starting point is 01:33:05 You feel like you in the 90s or the 80s when they shot that. Yeah, it makes me feel like I'm in Martin's apartment. When I moved to LA, David and I started hanging out because, I don't know, we never really lived in the same city, and I'd never seen Paid in Full. And I thought it was one of those next day air, kind of like a jokey movie. And David's like, are you out of your mind so he showed it to me i was like oh this is a very serious dramatic intense and dope movie i had no idea yeah it's incredible you know who's in that you know who's in that movie wood harris
Starting point is 01:33:34 steve harris's brother wood it'd be so funny to find out where wood harris lives and just go to his coffee shop every day and be like aren't you you Steve Harris' brother? Every day I see you, but you're Steve Harris' brother, right? What do you look like? You look like Steve. Yeah, you look like Steve Harris. You look like Steve Harris a little bit.
Starting point is 01:33:56 You look like Steve Harris. Let me get that hair off your head. Yeah, you look like Steve Harris. Wood Harris is clearly the more famous one. God, you could do like a thing as a Steverison personator if you're ever hard up for money like yeah if you had like a shitty tv i would buy you i can see that paid in full man oh wait cameron yeah and then the rap bona fides you know yeah i mean despite what happened to msg the other day i still love cam what was the other one that goes with hey ma it was hey ma and then what's the other one not ready for that it was just like they made them
Starting point is 01:34:28 look man it was slaughter time yeah man it just made me i said it on twitter i was like the locks made me feel like we're it was okay to grow up yeah yeah we were like okay just like solid powerhouse and then dipset was really trying to get by on being flashy and charisma joel's looked dirty i hate to say that like it's just not a good i hated it i hated the whole thing dipset was it was just really bad it was really really bad and i used to like freaky ziki's presence. I do like that. What was that song? I love that song. Cameron has a million songs.

Starting point is 01:37:43 sean join me for a pick all right we got a couple passion projects on my list for fourth and fifth this gentleman as far as i know was in one movie and as far as i know had one song that ever made it to uh i don't know more than 100 years but i'm picking mc8 as he was in menace to society and he did straight up menace so hey wax that's worth it. And he did straight up menace. That's worth it. AWACS, that's worth it for real. In the beginning of this, when I was talking about how I used to see like how someone dressed to be like, if I do that, I'll look like that. So AWACS in menace, he has on an Atlanta hat that's this color scheme. He has on like just a normal button up shirt, light blue t-shirt underneath khakis and chucks.
Starting point is 01:38:21 And I'm like, if I get that kit, I'm going to look like if i get that kit i'm gonna look like a whack and i do not look like a whack but i just remember man his toothpick like the whole everything about him and menace is so so on point and so dope and then straight up menace is like a perfect song it's such a good song mellow super 90s sounding but like in the best way oh i love it he was also on that track on a kendrick's uh not his first album but on a good kid mad city i think on mad on mad city he was the way your grandma's day guy right that was him no no no he rapped on it yeah he rapped i thought that was him talking too okay i thought that was him being like where your grandma's day he also had all that who banging record stuff.
Starting point is 01:39:06 You remember the hood still got me under. I gave it a shot, but I didn't, I wasn't, I didn't like it, but I, I like straight up menace enough and menace to society enough to where my, ever since then,
Starting point is 01:39:16 it's been like, I don't know. I just love that dude. He also, I'm finding out right now, voice the character on grand theft auto San Andreas. Yeah. Yeah. Of course he That's awesome. Yeah, yeah. Of course he did.

Starting point is 01:39:36 I want to kind of get into in some voice acting. I need the insight on that. Yeah. That shit would be fun. You're on a podcast with one of the right guys right now.
Starting point is 01:39:46 One David Morey. That's a man involved in some voice acting. I want to be like a fucking zebra or something. I'm a lawyer. Wait, I can't talk about that. You don't mean voice and you just passed the bar recently in the state of Colorado. You did?
Starting point is 01:40:01 No. Oh, shit. I was about to give you a big congrats, bro. You fucked that up for me and you. That would be amazing. That would be... Yeah, MCA. MCA. Excellent pick. We'll keep it moving just in order. Time for my fourth pick. Oh, man.
Starting point is 01:40:18 There's one that I'm surprised you haven't taken. Really? Yeah, knowing you the way that I do, there's one that I thought you would have taken by now. And you might be forgetting about him, which is going to be kind of fun if you are, because I'm going to take him if you don't.
Starting point is 01:40:34 Well, I'm going to take somebody just... If we're going based on one performance again, I'm going to take a man who was in the movie that I fell in love with on VH1 and then subsequently watched a million times, ATL. Oh, okay. Oh, yeah. I'm taking TI. the movie that i fell in love with on vh1 and then subsequently watched a million times atl oh okay oh yeah i'm taking uh i'm taking ti clifford harris for the win yes yo cliff cliff he when you saw that movie you felt you could you were like oh you could for sure do this again
Starting point is 01:40:58 you could for i thought i'm surprised he hasn't been in more movies after that but i think he just needs a role that he can play more i don't know i thought he was great in it well i think he's kind of busy right now yeah what what is he what is he doing right now i'm off uh uh it's not going good oh is it not legal issues oh no yeah him and his wife oh boy oh no and i just took him oh well no no he didn't do anything to his wife Oh boy Oh no and I just took him He didn't do anything to his wife Not in the way that you think Oh really You just gotta go down that

Starting point is 01:42:01 enjoy his music i sat next to him on a plane once from LA to Atlanta for the Super Bowl. Did y'all talk the whole time? No, no, no. The man could not have been wearing more instruments that screamed, I don't want to talk to this 350 pound Jewish guy sitting next to me. He had like sunglasses, headphones, a hood on, a neck pillow over the hood. Like it was very much leave me alone. But he did give me a cold because he was sneezing

Starting point is 01:43:42 That was the first time I heard someone call someone nephew and i was like oh that's tough you saw him drop that terminology you picked it up and it's in your pocket to this day you still call people because it's so much more biting because like he started cousin and it's like enough people didn't start it but like he you know he was the one that made it popular and then enough people started saying he's like i suppose i should start calling people nephew now it's so sick oh jody this jody and murder was the case man did you ever watch murder was the case that old that old death row movie oh no it was it's like a 15 minute death row movie with all of them like the whole all
Starting point is 01:44:24 the early 90s players from death row. And, uh, it is fucking bad, but it's fun. It's fun, but it's terrible. Anyway,
Starting point is 01:44:30 check it out. It's on YouTube. No, it's hard to pick a song by Snoop. It's really hard. But it's definitely from the no limit era. I think we can all agree on that. You think so?
Starting point is 01:44:41 No. Gin and juice. Fuck it. Let's, let's let's be that guy sure uh i'm gonna go pump pump i love pump pump oh yeah it's in above the rim that's that was where it's in above the rim when he's working out that first workout sequence that's the motion of your body be the key because we be the motherfucking g funk family you know what you're talking about man my sexual eruption for me and they're turning to sensual sensual seduction on the radio yeah i hate that because that song is about a sexual eruption you know you hear like all a doggy style and like it can all make me feel a certain way like if you put on what's my name i just like i go straight back to the skating i was just gonna say i think what's my name

Starting point is 01:47:43 We don't have to look at him as a rapper no more he's just a fucking icon no he's he's snoop dogg he's just i saw him in a room i saw him in a room with michelle obama and samuel jackson and he was the only person you couldn't take your eyes off of him man i bet that's true that's why it was amazing he walked in and they were talking he's like what's happening what's happening what's? And he was just wearing like crazy. And like, he's just the most charming guy I've ever seen in real life. Yeah. My second one?
Starting point is 01:48:12 Yeah. It's between two, but I'm going to pick one. Common. I'm going to go Common. All right. That's fair. Common makes his announcement. Dude, that song, The Light, Common's song, The Light, is so.

I love this. Gotta be something for me to write with. Queen, I ain't seeing you in a minute. He said, if heaven had a height, you would be that tall.
Starting point is 01:48:41 Yeah. Put that type of shit in... Put that shit in your motherfucking valves what get the will out if heaven had a height i'm gonna walk out right now and say it to her and see what happens i'll be right back for any skateboarders listening uh common was they use that in chris cole's part in four and one like 41 or something they use that song yeah bro like in the b the album b bro is so yeah that shit is amazing from the intro yeah and then you cut to you cut to the song you did with john legend for selma still real good song i mean years and years
Starting point is 01:49:17 and years later yeah yeah yeah he knows all that and he's a good actor man he is he's like a legitimate actor yeah he's a real actor you can he's like a legitimate actor yeah he's a real actor you can't even it's not like yeah it's not like a joke and he's one of those dudes too where you look at him you're like man you're perfect looking like him and it's kind of like meth where you're like you're you're all huge and perfect looking like yeah you're gonna be an actor of course that's like 45 you can still spin on your head and yeah you just you just look amazing you could just probably deadlift a thousand pounds if you felt like it, but you don't feel like it. Is that a cat?
Starting point is 01:49:47 It's my cat, Eddie. Eddie, dude. I love cats. I got one. I do, too. Oh, she doesn't want to be held right now. Dana laughed me out of the room, but it still felt good to say it. She's going to remind you about that later, bro. Yeah, I think so. You know what she said earlier?
Starting point is 01:50:04 I kind of liked you. I've been rolling around in the old noggin. Sticking with me. Common's in a lot of shit. I mean, not bad shit. Like, he's in a lot of movies. He's like really works. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:50:21 Are we still talking about Common? I was gone. He just seems so fucking positive, too, man. We stopped talking. Ian just comes back in and be like, no Common, though, huh? He's in a lot of good movies. I mean, he's in the John Wicks. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:50:35 No, I know, man. Common's ill. I like him. Bro, have you seen him perform? Mm-mm. No. That dude is one of the best performers I've ever seen, bro. Ever.
Starting point is 01:50:44 Really? Bro, he was here in portland he freestyled for five minutes straight off people in the crowd and things about portland wow five minutes straight bro i gotta be honest i would not have normally that going to see common live was not a thing i would have considered until just now i'll go see him now bro he's amazing he's amazing bro. His whole setup was like a Broadway play on stage. Each song made sense. He'd be
Starting point is 01:51:11 sitting in a chair, the lights would get dim. It'd be like some therapeutic shit he rapped about. It was like acting at the same time. He's a showman. Yeah. What's that song that before you lock my love away? Testify. That shit is crazy.
Starting point is 01:51:27 That song is so good. Taraji P. Henson, like, oh, this shit is great. Yeah, the queen pin. This bitch did the crime. Common. This bitch did the crime. That's like promo on like some old album shit. Some single notes.
Starting point is 01:51:48 Tell me, I'm going gonna make my final pick and tell me if this counts and i kind of have a feeling it doesn't but maybe idris elba rests in england because we can't okay yeah dude i could play it's boasty i mean he's it's dope i just saw suicide squad it's dope. I just saw Suicide Squad. It's good. This is kind of a. It's real good. And he's so fucking good in it. The fact that he, like, they haven't let that man play James Bond and maybe now he's too old. It's fucked up.
Starting point is 01:52:16 And he's half Sierra Leone and what, basically, we're the same. Yeah, I was going to say. He is fucking such a good actor he's so charismatic that dude just like oozes off the screen he's so fucking cool i feel like i feel like he's so hot they don't even let him be charismatic that often yeah i think you're right because it'd be too much you know what i'm saying because like because he was so charismatic in suicide squad and i was like why didn't i i was watching it i was like why didn't i know he was funny like that when they let him walk when when he walks through the women's ward of the prison in the beginning of suicide squad and all the women in
Starting point is 01:52:54 there just go fucking nuts it's very funny yeah it's very self-aware and he's good on i mean he's good on that boasty song and i listened to some of the other stuff is it good i've been seeing it on hbo is it is it good suicide squad yeah it it will make you forget about the last one yeah okay i really like i really enjoyed it i thought they did a great job it was fun it was like really really good yeah job feel it's a real dumb good time it fucked me up when i found out he was from england bro when i heard him talking his real voice oh yeah i thought he was stringer bell i thought he was stringer bell i thought he was you know daddy's little girls that that movie i thought he was oh yeah yeah yeah black american i was like oh this motherfucker has a real accent oh idris will brough you up he's killer as stringer bell too
Starting point is 01:53:40 yeah i forgot about that yeah i'll say bruv he'll say in it i'll say bruv i'll say in it bruv well damn damn now my last pick is not going to be anywhere near that a sife bruv sife bruv all right can i go all right it's time for your pick bruv rizza sure oh shit here come that impression this is where i got it so when he's in funny people which is what i think he's hilarious and he's talking to seth rogan and seth rogan he goes man i can't be here working at autos it sucks and resi's like what's too good for autos man auto this bitch see this bitch on a house man autos my lotto you guys probably thought resi made an appearance on the show for a second but that was me that was actually me doing it and then it's bobby digital to be the ho to be the be the one
Starting point is 01:54:25 dude i used to sit and scream that in my car to be man to be can i tell you i got that album when they did like the bmg 10 albums for 10 cents shit uh-huh i got bobby did i was too young i was like it's a good and being like i don't i don't get it you don't like it oh man i still like it now i didn't but i mean when i was 11 or whatever every party had in wu-tang he was always my favorite well him and math but like most of the time rizzo it was funny because i didn't know who he back before he was like one of the names you knew i'd be like who's that guy that like is making up words and you know it was rizza who's that he rhymed jersey four times and the same four lines he rhymed jersey doing a buck 90 in a throwback jersey anyway yeah man rizza was it worth it to do the impression yeah yep yep yeah yeah it was worth it yep i'll say that was the best the
Starting point is 01:55:22 impression has ever been yeah that is what I will say. I got a killer DMX impression. Let's hear it. Yeah. You really want me to do this right now? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're deep enough. Yeah, come on.
