Starting point is 00:00:00 Today, I'm simply going to be sharing with you things that I like right now. That's it. Not even things that I love right now. No, love is too strong of a word. These are things that I like right now. I feel like my list of things that I'm enjoying constantly changes because even though I am a creature of habit and there are certain things that I always do, for example, I always have my nails done. For example, I love exercise, like I always have some sort of exercise in my routine.
Starting point is 00:00:36 I take my pajamas very seriously. Like I have a very similar pajama outfit that I wear to bed every night. The details are constantly changing. So it's like, yeah, I am a creature of habit. For the most part, my routine always looks the same, but little details are always changing. And so I sort of have this ever-changing list of things that I'm really enjoying at a given moment. And then like six months to a year will go by
Starting point is 00:01:04 and it'll be like, okay, I'm over all this stuff. And now I have a slightly different routine. It's super similar like to the naked eye, it looks exactly the same. But if you actually were to dig into the details, it's a little different. You know what I mean? Ah, okay.
Starting point is 00:01:19 Let's dig in. Things that I like right now, subject to change. This episode is brought to you by Airbnb. About two years ago, my friends and I went to Joshua Tree, and we decided to stay in an Airbnb for many reasons. Number one, because we wanted to have easy access to the Joshua Tree National Park, as well as the cute little downtown area.
Starting point is 00:01:42 We were able to stay in the coolest parts of the city. We weren't forced to stay in the touristy parts. And there's something really beautiful about kind of feeling like roommates with my friends for the weekend. We were all cooking and cleaning together, talking until the wee hours of the morning. We really felt like we lived in Joshua Tree. And that's something that you really can't get at a hotel.

Starting point is 00:03:22 Okay, recently, I found my new favorite snack, one of my new favorite snacks, and I definitely do love snacks and I definitely do get hyper fixated on a snack. You know, it usually happens like one at a time.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Like I was really obsessed with spicy Bjorn Korn. It was like, OK, that's like so hard to explain. I don't even know. If you don't know what spicy Bjorn corn is, you're gonna be like, what the fuck does that even mean? Basically spicy Bjorn corn was this specific brand of popcorn.
Starting point is 00:03:56 The brand was called Bjorn corn. And I liked the spicy variety and it was basically this spicy, vegan, cheesy popcorn, okay? They use nutritional yeast and stuff like that to create sort of a cheesy flavor and it had like jalapeno powder on it to give the spice. It was, it is some of the best popcorn in my opinion that you can buy at a store.
Starting point is 00:04:24 I still love that popcorn. However, my fiery obsession about it is over. I'm not screaming from the rooftops telling everyone to buy this popcorn anymore. I feel like I've already screamed loud enough. Everyone knows. So now I've moved on to a new snack fixation. And my newest snack fixation is the brand Outshine
Starting point is 00:04:48 has this mango tahini popsicle. Okay, so imagine this. It's like a mango sorbet popsicle coated in tahini, which is like chili lime seasoning. It's fucking unbelievable, okay? Now listen, even if you don't have this specific brand of mango tahin popsicle, you can easily do it yourself, okay? All you need to do is take a mango popsicle,
Starting point is 00:05:20 you can either make them yourself with mango puree, or buy mango popsicles at the store. And then all you have to do is like lick the popsicle as you would. Keep a little bowl, okay, on the side that has chili lime seasoning in it. Obviously, tahini is ideal. And just lick the popsicle and then dip it into the chili lime seasoning and then lick it. By the way, even though I have the mango tahini popsicle that comes with tahini on it,
Starting point is 00:05:49 I still am dipping it in more tahini. So that's my snack fixation right now. This honestly makes a lot of sense because I also have been really enjoying dried mango with chilies on it, like chili dried mango, basically like a dried piece of mango with chili seasoning on it.
Starting point is 00:06:12 I've been loving that as well. So like, this is no shock. Like this is a flavor profile that I just love, but now I found it in popsicle form and it's just, to me, it accomplishes everything I want to accomplish. Okay, it's refreshing, it's just, to me, it accomplishes everything I want to accomplish, okay? It's refreshing, it's hydrating, there's probably a little bit of fiber in there, okay?
Starting point is 00:06:30 Helping me poop as a constipated girl. I actually don't know if there's any fiber in there. They might've just strained that all out, I don't know. But it's like the perfect little pick me up. So give it a try if that sounds up your alley. Okay, next. I always have to have my nails done. That's something that everyone who knows me knows about me
Starting point is 00:06:49 is that I always have to have my nails done. I mean, for the last few years, I don't think I've ever been spotted without my nails done, which is kind of funny because I'm not somebody who's known for always looking put together. Like I definitely have my hideous moments. In fact, they're equally as frequent as my cute moments. But what I get at the nail salon is always evolving.
Starting point is 00:07:13 Okay? I get into little routines with my nails. But recently, okay, something changed. I was getting like short to medium length nails, okay? My nails were totally reasonable. Like they were not long. You know what I mean? They weren't eye catching.
Starting point is 00:07:35 They were very average, a very comfortable average length. And that's what I was getting for the last, I don't know, year or so. I wasn't going super long. When I was younger, like, I don't know, 17, 18, I loved getting super long nails. Oh my God, they were so long. I couldn't do anything with them
Starting point is 00:07:58 because they were so long. And I loved that and that was my thing for a while. And then eventually I got sick of it, but I have done that before, okay? And then, you know, from there, I sort of progressively got shorter and shorter and shorter until they were very short. I mean, like pretty much natural nail length. And I did that for like a year.
Starting point is 00:08:16 Okay. So now you're kind of caught up on my nail journey. I've decided I love long nails again. I just love them. Okay. So I don't think that they're long. You know what I mean? I've had long nails. I would say these are medium long, okay? They're long enough that certain things
Starting point is 00:08:37 are a little bit more challenging, like typing is a little bit more challenging. Opening a can is a bit more challenging. All of the things that bit more challenging. Opening a can is a bit more challenging. All of the things that become more challenging when you have long nails are definitely more challenging. However, they're not impossible. And I've had nails so long that these tasks are like virtually impossible.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Oh my God, that reminds me. In California, almost all of the parking meters, you know, if you have to pay for parking, take credit card. I don't even know if they take coins anymore. I mean, those used to take coins, but now almost all of them take card. And I'm thinking now that I need to get a little tool or something that can help me remove my credit card from the credit card inserter because my nails are too long right now to be able to pull the card out. My card used to get stuck in everything because when I would plug my card in to pay, like when I'm at a parking meter or even at the gas station, the card is stuck in there and
Starting point is 00:09:43 there's a tiny little lip where you can grab the card to pull it out. But you need like your skin touching the card to pull it out. And if your nails are too long, you can't get in there to get your skin on the card to pull it out. You can only use your nails and then you're like trying to get it out with your nails and it doesn't work anyway. So I'm now realizing I need to look online for some sort of gadget that will help me with that. Or maybe I just bring tweezers around. I don't know, I'll figure it out.
Starting point is 00:10:11 But see, I'm not selling anyone on long nails right now at all because it is a challenge. Like it's definitely a sacrifice that you make, okay? However, I just recently cut my hair short and my hair is very short. I've posted a few photos of it online. Like the internet has seen the hair, but I've actually since cut my hair shorter
Starting point is 00:10:35 because I was like, you know what? I can go shorter. So my hair is very short right now. And I love the juxtaposition. There's something cool about the short hair and the really long nails. And I'm just loving it. But also the long nails are fun.
Starting point is 00:10:51 Like I talk with more attitude. I feel like I just love a long nail. It's so cute. Okay, moving on. I really rambled on about that for way too long. Next we have something very weird. Okay. So let me give you a little backstory.
Starting point is 00:11:06 When I was younger, I used to have a lot of stomach issues and stomach issues were in my family. My mom and my dad both have stomach issues and both of their stomach issues are pretty bad but in different ways. Okay, so like I was destined to have stomach issues and my stomach issues. And my stomach issues go through phases. Like sometimes I virtually have no issue
Starting point is 00:11:30 and I can eat whatever I want and do whatever I want and everything's great and my stomach feels good and everything's good. And then sometimes my stomach is in a horrible place and I'm in so much pain and everything's going wrong and nothing's working properly and it's a mess. But when I was younger, my mom would constantly give me different remedies to help with my stomach issues.
Starting point is 00:11:51 Because when I was a kid, I used to have really painful gas and really severe constipation all the time. Cause I had and have IBS, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which a lot of people have. But anyway, one of the things that my mom used to give me was sparkling water, club soda, with a little bit of apple cider vinegar in there. Now, she was never claiming to me or to anyone
Starting point is 00:12:17 that this was going to heal the gas or this was going to relieve the constipation even. She was like, this might just sort of help with some of the symptoms, you know? But it was like one of many things that she would give to me at once to help me with my discomfort. And whether or not apple cider vinegar helps with digestion
Starting point is 00:12:40 or gas or whatever, I actually don't know. All I know is I love the flavor of it. And when I was little, I also loved the flavor of it. I've always loved anything like sour vinegar, like mustard, I've always loved, pickles, I've always loved, olives. I've just always loved that flavor profile. I mean, sour candy even, like I can
Starting point is 00:13:06 eat incredibly sour candy and not even flinch. I love sour stuff, right? So it makes sense that I've always liked the flavor of vinegar. And when I was younger, I like loved the flavor of apple cider vinegar in water in the sparkling water and I Drank it a lot on and off and then for a few years. I like really didn't drink it at all and then now I'm back I'm so back. It's all I drink I drink so much sparkling water with apple cider vinegar in it and has it healed all stomach ailments for me. Absolutely not but Do I feel like it kind of settles my stomach? Honestly, yes. But I don't even want to say that
Starting point is 00:13:48 because it might just be placebo or the effect of drinking water, period. Like, I don't know, okay? And I'm very skeptical of all things. You know, people love to be like, this one life hack will cure everything wrong with you. And I just, that's dangerous shit. And that is one of the worst parts of the internet
Starting point is 00:14:07 is claims like that. So I don't want to add to it. I just like it for the flavor. Okay. But holy shit. I like have my little clear Chamberlain coffee tumbler cup, okay. And all day long, I'm putting some ice in there, putting a bit of sparkling water in there,
Starting point is 00:14:27 and putting like three tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in there, mixing it up and yum, yum, yum. Just drinking that all day. I have it right next to me right now, and I'm gonna have a sip. Yum. Oh my God, it's very fizzy. I don't know what's wrong with me.
Starting point is 00:14:47 This is so weird. It's like such a weird thing, but I just love it. And it's probably not great for my teeth either because there's so much acid and like constantly drinking vinegar. Like my teeth are probably gonna fall out, but it's just a phase. Like I'm really into it right now.
Starting point is 00:15:04 And then at some point I'll like have like one a day and then it'll fizzle and I'll have like one a month. You know what I mean? Like it's just a phase, but at least I'm drinking water. Okay. Next, I was really in like a workout class phase for a while there, but I really started to get sick of it I was really in like a workout class phase for a while there, but I really started to get sick of it and exercise is very important to me
Starting point is 00:15:31 because it's very good for my brain as an anxious control freak. I don't know, there's something about exercise that really helps me, calms me down, puts me in a good mood, distracts me, but also gives me time to think, very meditative for me. I love it. However, it only has all those positive benefits if I'm actually enjoying the workout I'm doing. Like, I have to enjoy it. And I started to get sick of the workout classes and stuff like that. Just was getting repetitive for me. So I
Starting point is 00:16:03 started running again. I had like a running phase a few years ago where I was running outside and it was delightful, but eventually I got bored of that and then I went to workout classes. I go back and forth, but I'm back on my running grind. This time though, it's a little different because I'm focused on running on incline.
Starting point is 00:16:26 And let me tell you, this is one of the worst workouts I've ever done. However, it's also one of the best workouts I've ever done. I can't explain it. I actually don't dread it, which is so weird. It's weird because it's so hard and horrible, but for some reason I'm like enjoying it. It's so weird.
Starting point is 00:16:43 So basically what I've been doing pretty much every day is waking up and running up a mile and a half long hill. Okay, maybe it's like 1.3 mile long hill, but it's basically like a whole mile and a half long hell. If you, okay, let's just round up to a mile and a half to make me feel good. I think it is a mile and a half, but it might also be 1.3 miles.
Starting point is 00:17:14 But let's just say one and a half. Okay, anyway, I have a hill in my neighborhood. So, you know, I just walk outside and there's my hill, but I will say it's one of the hardest things I've ever done, but there's something about it that I like. I honestly, I think one of my favorite parts about it is that I don't think it will ever be easy.
Starting point is 00:17:37 You know what I'm saying? Maybe in like five years, but it's so, it's such like a hard thing that I'm constantly failing. Like I'll run like for a minute up the hill and then I'll get tired and I have to walk for like 10 seconds and then I run again and then I get too tired and then I walk again and it ends up taking me like 20 minutes or whatever. But it's so challenging mentally and physically, but it's also so satisfying because once I get to the top and I get to run down, there's something so nice about it.
Starting point is 00:18:10 And so that's been interesting. And I feel like I really release a lot of endorphins from that. Like I feel really good at the end of that. And also if I'm feeling too tired completely and I'm like, I don't wanna run, I can just walk the hill and that's great as well. And also exhausting, but just in a different way.
Starting point is 00:18:25 But also I like being outside too and I feel like I don't always go outside if I don't have like some sort of exercise going on outside. Like all my work is indoors, you know, I don't have any work to do outside. So I'm often indoors all day. So it's nice to go and run in the morning outside. Yeah, I'm into it. Listen, not everyone has a hill. So if you don't have a hill, all good. You could do something else that's like running but a level up. Like you could like do sprints on your street or you could like, I don't know, the options are endless, but I do think running outside is so good for the brain.
Starting point is 00:19:08 Running, walking, anything outside is so nice. And it does take a level of discipline and nobody's gonna tell you to do it. That was the thing I liked about a workout class was I'd go to the class and they'd be like, okay, now it's time for you to run. And then I would run, right? Whereas when I'm running up the hill in my neighborhood,
Starting point is 00:19:29 no one's there to tell me to do it. So it's harder to motivate. But, and also it's free, right? That's the other thing too. When you pay for a workout class, you're like, okay, I'm definitely gonna go because I fucking paid for it. I don't wanna waste that money that I spent on it. And even same thing with a gym membership.
Starting point is 00:19:46 If you have a gym membership, you're like, well, I'm paying X amount of money per month for this goddamn gym. Like I'm gonna go as much as I can. So, psychologically, it is harder to motivate when your exercise is completely free. Oh, I'm running around in my neighborhood and no one's watching and it's just me against me
Starting point is 00:20:09 but I do think that it's so delightful and so therapeutic and it is kind of awesome that it's free, you can do it whenever you want. And also I think there's something nice about getting into the routine of walking or running outside because then if you ever travel, it can be really nice to like go on a jog and explore a city through a jog. Like recently I just had a meeting in Minneapolis and I was only going to be in Minneapolis
Starting point is 00:20:38 for like 24 hours. And so I woke up and I was like, you know what? I'll go jog around Minneapolis randomly. So I just jogged around Minneapolis and it was a fun way to like see a lot of stuff in a short amount of time. But what's also been weird about my new running routine is that I don't listen to music. And the reason why I don't listen to music
Starting point is 00:20:59 is because I don't feel safe with my headphones in running around. I don't feel safe with my headphones in running around, I don't want some shit. Like listen, chances are nothing bad would happen, but it is good to be alert and to listen. You know, somebody might drive off the road, you know, somebody might have like an angry dog or something, I don't know, it's just,
Starting point is 00:21:23 I like to be sharp when I'm running in my neighborhood. But now I'm like, this is great thinking time. So I've been, because the run isn't that long, just doing it in silence. And it's actually nice. It makes it even more meditative. If I were running like a fucking marathon, I would need like something to listen to or else I'd be completely miserable. But because running this hill is like somewhat short and I'm like getting a lot of exercise in a short amount of time,
Starting point is 00:21:56 weirdly not listening to music is like totally fine. And I don't know, I think it's actually kind of even more meditative. And I like do a lot of thinking and problem solving during it, so it's good. Okay, nobody cares about me running, like it just is cringe. Next we have compression socks.
Starting point is 00:22:13 I will say, and I'm gonna stop fucking talking about running after this, but I do think that compression socks really help with like arch support and ankle support. And like, I got two pairs of little running socks. I wash them once a week, it's disgusting, but I really do think that they make running more comfortable and I would absolutely recommend
Starting point is 00:22:39 little compression socks. Also, supposedly they're good to wear on the plane for some reason, I need to look into that. I just keep seeing people be like, don't forget to wear your compression socks on Also supposedly they're good to wear on the plane for some reason, I need to look into that. I just keep seeing people be like, don't forget to wear your compression socks on the plane. I mean, probably because, I don't know, we swell on the plane and, wait, let me look into it.
Starting point is 00:22:55 Why? Why would people wanna do that? Oh, weird. Okay, according to American Heart Association. Oh, since the dawn of the jet age, travelers have been warned about the risks of dangerous blood clots while flying. In recent years, those warnings have often been accompanied
Starting point is 00:23:14 by advice to wear compression socks. I didn't know about blood clots while flying. I've never heard of that. And that is gonna ruin my day because I already hate flying and have enough anxiety on a plane. Like I don't need to hear this. And I guess it's just saying that wearing compression socks
Starting point is 00:23:32 on the plane can help with circulation. I don't need to read this, I'm done. I can't read medical stuff online. It gives me a fucking panic attack. Moving on, I have been traveling a lot recently. And as I just mentioned, being on a plane gives me really bad anxiety, like horrible. And when I'm on the plane to help alleviate
Starting point is 00:23:59 some of my anxiety to help distract me, I allow myself to watch YouTube shorts. I don't watch Instagram reels. I don't go on TikTok because those platforms and those algorithms are a bit too addicting for me. But I watch YouTube shorts, okay? Because YouTube is the only app I have on my good phone, the phone that I carry around with me all the time
Starting point is 00:24:24 that doesn't have social media on it. My bad phone has all the social media on it and that one stays turned off until it's needed. Anyway, I do have YouTube on my good phone. Sometimes I delete YouTube off my good phone because I get kind of addicted to it and I have to delete it, but I don't think YouTube is as addictive or toxic as other platforms, so I am more flexible about having it on my phone.
Starting point is 00:24:50 But because I've been traveling so much and I've been on planes so much, I've been watching a lot of YouTube shorts. And I will say my YouTube short algorithm is so, it's so innocent, okay? Like I'm not getting anything toxic. I get a lot of the same stuff. I get a lot of organizational reels, okay?
Starting point is 00:25:13 Now I will say, I get a lot of videos of people like organizing their pantry, putting everything into little containers that they bought from the container store, organizing underneath their sink, putting everything in a specific drawer, bin, or whatever that they bought from the container store. It all is very maximalist. It all is very extra.
Starting point is 00:25:36 It all is sort of wasteful and unnecessary. However, I cannot stop watching it. I love these types of videos. I also love watching moms, like doing like mom, like mom routines, okay? Basically these videos are about, they're basically moms taking care of their babies and cooking.
Starting point is 00:25:56 But mainly it's the cooking. I'm not really, to be honest, watching about the babies. Not that their babies aren't awesome, but I don't really care. I do love watching cooking videos and I'll watch any type of cooking video, but for some reason the algorithm is feeding me these moms
Starting point is 00:26:13 that just cook every day and film it and post it. And I just can't stop watching it. And then last but not least, obsessed, obsessed, obsessed with food reviews. People going to restaurants, especially highly rated restaurants, like something that's on most highly rated on Yelp or like New York Times top 100 restaurants
Starting point is 00:26:35 in New York food lists, like all these different highly rated restaurants, people going and trying them and giving their own opinion cannot stop watching these types of videos, which actually leads me to my next thing that I've been liking right now beyond YouTube Shorts and these specific YouTube Shorts, LA Times top 100 restaurant list.
Starting point is 00:26:56 Okay, this is basically a list made by the LA Times newspaper of the top 100 restaurants in Los Angeles. And I have basically told everyone in my life that we're gonna try every restaurant on that list. I have to try every restaurant on that list. I actually just went to one last weekend. It's called Lolli Bella and it's an Ethiopian restaurant. It was amazing
Starting point is 00:27:27 food, amazing food. And so I'm so excited for what's next because there's so many different ones. You know, I would have thought a New York Times top 100 food list or like LA Times top 100 food list would be all like Nobu, stuff that like you need to make a reservation for six years in advance. Honestly, I don't know about the New York Times list because I haven't really looked at it, but the LA Times list, there's a lot of stuff on there that like you don't need to book a reservation before the price is totally reasonable, which is really cool. So it's not like all super exclusive like nobody can fucking get in, what's the point?
Starting point is 00:28:05 But my recommendation to you, especially if you're somebody who like is a foodie in a way, if you live in a town who has any, there's any sort of food scene happening, I do recommend reading blogs about it or going on Yelp or whatever and like making a restaurant list or like if you're going to go on a trip soon like do research and find the best restaurants,
Starting point is 00:28:30 most highly rated restaurants. There is something really fun about it. I'm really enjoying it right now because I do love food and I actually would argue that in some ways I am a foodie. I'm like a vegetarian foodie who's very picky. So do it that way you will. Actually, let me give a shout out to this girl. I'm gonna tell you right now who inspired me to do this specific thing on YouTube. Her name is Caitlin Lavery, K-A-I-T-L-Y-N, L-A-V-E-R-Y at Caitlin Eats on YouTube.
Starting point is 00:29:06 She probably has other platforms, but I'm not on other platforms, so I wouldn't know. Anyway, she's going to every restaurant on the New York Times top 100 list. And then I was like, wait, I wanna do that because this looks so fun. So now I'm trying every restaurant on the LA Times top 100 list.
Starting point is 00:29:25 So shout out to Caitlin. She really inspired me and I love watching her food reviews. So God bless her and moving on. Looking for a path to accelerate your career? Starting point is 00:30:48 If you don't know what I'm talking about, look up zigzag metal headband. I do love these headbands and I don't just love them for aesthetic purposes, although I do like the way that they look because I think they're like the coolest sort of headband. They're the most edgy. All other headbands sort of look too sweet for me.
Starting point is 00:31:06 I'm like, it's too sweet. You know, like it makes an outfit look more juvenile, whereas the zigzag one can actually look kind of batty coated, you know what I mean? I love this, especially with my short hair. It looks really cute. Okay, short hair with a little metal zigzag headband. Honestly, honestly looks really cute. Okay, short hair with a little metal zigzag headband, honestly, honestly really cute.
Starting point is 00:31:29 And it effectively pushes the bangs back for the workout. But also I can fully dress it up and like style it to wear out because it has this cool little edge to it. I love the zigzag headband. I just think it's a great accessory. And it's not something that's completely underrated. Like I definitely see people wearing them here and there but I'm just here to remind you that it is the best headband in the world and no other headband can compare. It's the most comfortable, it's the cutest, and it's the most edgy and cool. Moving on. Gum. I've
Starting point is 00:32:03 been chewing a lot of gum. I'm in like a gum phase. I definitely am an oral fixation type of girl. And right now I'm just loving gum. My favorite, Icebreaker's Peppermint, okay? This is simply the best gum. I really do think it is the best. It blows incredible bubbles. It's super soft.
Starting point is 00:32:23 The flavor is delicious. It's like the perfect minty flavor I mean, I just think it's perfect and I've loved it for a really long time. Like I go way back with this gum probably ten years the only thing that I just figured out literally last night is I do think that aspartame which is a artificial sweetener the aspartame in the gum, I think, is giving me a stomach ache because I'm having a lot of gas
Starting point is 00:32:51 and a lot of stomach pain recently, and I do think it's from the gum. So I might have to start chewing aspartame-free gum, which is not nearly as delicious. It's like diet Coke has aspartame in it, okay? Again, it's an artificial sweetener. It does provide like a really, really convincing fake sweetness, which is why it's, you know, in things like diet Coke
Starting point is 00:33:14 and sugar-free gum and all that. I'm sad. I love the icebreaker's peppermint, but I feel like the aspartame is ruining my stomach because it's really bad for your gut microbiome. Like, you know, all the little happy bacteria in your stomach turn very sad when they see aspartame come in.
Starting point is 00:33:36 And I have such an oral fixation that I'm chewing gum like all day. I love this gum so much, but I do think it's hurting my stomach, but it is amazing gum. So if you don't have as bad of an addiction to gum so much, but I do think it's hurting my stomach, but it is amazing gum. So if you don't have as bad of an addiction to gum as me and you have like one or two pieces a day, you should do the icebreaker's peppermint. I think it's the best and at that point
Starting point is 00:33:56 you're having such a small amount of aspartame that you probably won't have the stomach issues from it. Enjoy. Next, you know what? It's sort of fall time, the weather's getting a bit colder. I whipped out every single fall candle that I have. Okay, right now I have lit right next to me Bath and Body Works cinnamon caramel swirl just burning right next to me. I have a caramel corn flavored one burning in my dining room. I have a Chamberlain Coffee pumpkin spice candle burning, but then I also have a Chamberlain Coffee
Starting point is 00:34:29 matcha candle burning like right next to it. I have a sugar cookie flavored candle burning right now. I have like eight candles burning right now. Now don't worry because I'm sitting very close to all of them and they're mixing together in my house, making this very weird, sweet fall-like smell that is sort of untraceable. Nobody really knows what the smell really is,
Starting point is 00:34:51 and that makes sense because it's nine different flavors happening at once. However, I am loving the candle. I'm loving the smells. It's fucking fall. I'm leaning in. I'm gonna lean in this year to winter because I feel like I tend to be really pessimistic
Starting point is 00:35:07 about winter, like, oh, it's so dark, so early, and like, fuck, and I get kind of sad about it. And it's valid because I do think that summer is obviously more fun in a lot of ways, but I do like fall and I do like winter, and I'm gonna really lean into it this year in a way that I haven't in a really long time and really try to enjoy the cold weather spirit.
Starting point is 00:35:33 And that starts now with my cinnamon swirl ass, caramel corn ass candles, pumpkin spice ass candles. You know what I mean? I just seem like fucking getting the sweetest flavors I can and just lighten them all up. And the thing is, a lot of these candles I've had for years, I'm just going through them.
Starting point is 00:35:54 I mean, hell, what's the point of having all these candles in my garage if I'm not gonna use them? My goal is to actually finish all the candles I have. Because I feel like a lot of us over consume candles just because we get like excited when we're at like Bath and Body Works or like, I don't know where else do I buy candles? Like Target or something.
Starting point is 00:36:15 Like, and I'm like, oh my God, there's so many good candles. And then I never actually go through all of them. So my goal this autumn and winter is to actually go through as many of my candles as I possibly can. Okay, next, the other night, okay, I was watching music videos in bed. I love doing this every once in a while. Like once every six months,
Starting point is 00:36:39 I need to lay down and catch up on every music video that has come out in the last, six months, you know what I'm saying? But also like watch random music videos. I don't know, I'm not just watching new ones. I'll also like randomly stumble upon like, I don't know, some weird music video from the 80s that like I didn't ever stumble upon before.
Starting point is 00:37:02 I just love going down a music video rabbit hole. But I do think it's fun to watch the ones that are coming out now. Like I have a particular affection for that. There's something particularly entertaining about that. And so the other night, I was really leaning into the newest pop music videos. Okay, like watching as many of them
Starting point is 00:37:23 as I could possibly find. And one of the ones that popped up in my recommended was Die With a Smile, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga, okay? And I was like, whatever, sure. Clicked on it, okay. I know, I know it's obvious. I know that this is really, really obvious, but I grew up with Bruno Mars on the radio.
Starting point is 00:37:48 And I think because of that, I took him for granted. I don't know what happened in my brain because I always thought Bruno Mars was good. It's not that I ever was like a Bruno Mars hater or something, but I was never like, oh, I'm a fan of Bruno Mars. You know, like he's really good. It was always like, oh yeah I'm a fan of Bruno Mars. You know, like he's really good. It was always like, oh yeah, he's good, moving on.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Because it's almost like I was so overexposed to Bruno Mars that I just took him for granted and I didn't even realize how fucking incredible he is. And then this video comes up and I click it and I haven't watched anything Bruno Mars has done in years. Okay, I like forgot. Also because his genre of music is not what I normally listen to.
Starting point is 00:38:30 Like I don't listen to the pop of it all like that as much unless it's on the radio or whatever. So again, I just like haven't heard Bruno Mars anyway. I watched this Die With a Smile music video. It's obviously Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga. Anyway, I watched this Die With a Smile music video, it's obviously Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga. I get choked up and realize that Bruno Mars is so good. And I forgot. Like I was just sleeping on Bruno Mars for years.
Starting point is 00:38:59 Bruno Mars, and then I went back and skimmed through his discography and I was like, he is so good. I like took for granted how talented Bruno Mars is. I love Bruno Mars. I am a real Bruno Mars fan. If Bruno Mars has a show in Los Angeles, I will go. I love Bruno Mars.
Starting point is 00:39:21 I think he's fucking amazing. I knew Lady Gaga was amazing. I knew Lady Gaga was amazing. I think Lady Gaga is also like very, I don't know, she has a very different like internet presence than Bruno Mars. Like she's much more, she's in the zeitgeist in a very different way. Like I can't explain it,
Starting point is 00:39:40 but I feel like everyone loves Lady Gaga. Like I feel like less people are sleeping on Lady Gaga than are sleeping on Bruno Mars. Bruno Mars is a massive artist, by the way. He's the biggest artist in the world, probably. He's not, but he's very close. But I just took it for granted. Does that make sense?
Starting point is 00:39:59 Anyway, I'm now just in love with Bruno Mars. I think he's unbelievable and I think he's perfect. It literally got me choked up and his music genuinely like is very feel good and it's just like good clean fun and I just fucking love Bruno Mars and I feel like a mom being like, I love Bruno Mars, but it's true, like I love Bruno Mars.
Starting point is 00:40:20 Like moms are always like, oh my God, I love Bruno Mars. And I love like, wait, who else do moms like? Like Fergie or something, or like Black Eyed Peas, or like my mom loved the Black Eyed Peas. Actually, she really loved Fergie. I can't even remember, or like, oh my God, Colby Kalei, that's it, that's a good one. Like my mom would be like,
Starting point is 00:40:46 I love Bruno Mars and I love Colby Kalei. Oh my God. You know what I'm saying? But now I'm looking back and I'm like, Bruno Mars is amazing. And I just feel bad that I've been sleeping on him and forgetting how good he is. Okay, moving on.
Starting point is 00:41:00 Next, so I recently bleached my hair. So my hair is now very blonde again. And I've decided that this time I'm gonna do everything in my power to keep my hair healthy. And something that I noticed over the last few times of getting my hair bleached was, okay, where it really starts to fall out and break off is in the back of my head.
Starting point is 00:41:22 Why? Because of sleeping on fabric that creates friction with my hair, right? Like cottony fabric creates friction on the hair, makes it break, right? I did some research online and I saw a few things, but most importantly, sleep on silk. And I was like, and I tried the silk pillowcases before
Starting point is 00:41:50 and I liked them, but I'm like such a crazy sleeper. Like I like pushed my pillow all the way off the bed and then be like rolling on my back and then like, yeah, like half the time I wake up and I'm not even sleeping on my pillow anymore, you know what I mean? Like, I don't know. So it's like, maybe I do a little like bonnet. The other thing I like about that as well is that
Starting point is 00:42:13 when I travel, I don't have to like bring a silk pillowcase with me. So I bought this sort of like silk bonnet. And according to the internet, silk and satin pillowcases are gentler on hair than cotton, which can cause friction and breakage. And also a protective cap can help retain moisture and fight frizz. Because also when your hair is bleached, it can get frizzy so easily. So anyway, I'm sleeping in a bonnet to protect my hair. I think it's going really well. So far, it really feels like it's working.
Starting point is 00:42:48 And I'm feeling like my hair, the first few days I bleached my hair, I felt like the back of my hair was very frizzy and was already, it wasn't breaking, but it was definitely like drying it out kind of and making the, I don't know, just was not good. And I've definitely seen a difference. From the executive producers of Lost.

Starting point is 00:44:02 So I definitely have, you know, a haircut happening right now, which I'm loving. But my favorite part about it is the way that it allows me to dress down, okay? This is something I'm really enjoying right now. Because when my hair was sort of long and brown and just very average, like nothing eye catching about it, you know, I felt like I really had to try to make myself feel presentable.
Starting point is 00:44:30 Like it took a lot of effort to feel dressed up or like I was expressing myself when I was going out. And I'm somebody who really enjoys using clothing to express myself. And I felt like it took a lot of effort to put together an outfit that felt expressive enough. Whereas now, because my hair is so expressive, the rest of my outfit can be chill
Starting point is 00:44:56 and the outfit still looks, it makes every outfit look like a vibe. I really do think having a riskier haircut, something that maybe less people choose or like, I don't know, maybe something that's like, something really, something that really has a vibe attached to it, right? Having hair with a vibe, I think,
Starting point is 00:45:19 is sort of the cheat code to having like a consistent vibe every time you go out. Like it's just like, you always have a vibe going on if you have a really vibey haircut, you know what I'm saying? Vibey, I hate the word vibey, so cringe. I would unfollow me if I heard me say that. But like, let me give you an example, okay?
Starting point is 00:45:42 The other day I was going to an appointment, okay? And I am somebody who kind of likes to look somewhat put together when going to an appointment, right? When my hair was long and brown, I would have probably ended up putting on jeans and like a low fur or something and like a belt and like a top and all in an attempt to sort of have a vibe and feel dressed, you know, and feel presentable.
Starting point is 00:46:06 However, now that my hair is like shaggy and bleached and like whatever, I put on black sunglasses, black like yoga pant sort of soft sweat pant things, black Ugg boots, black sweatshirt. And just because of my hair, it looked like, it looked so much cooler. If I had put that on with my brown hair,
Starting point is 00:46:32 I would have been like, oh, okay. But it has such a cool, naturally a cooler vibe because of the hair. And I'm just loving the fact that I can dress down now even more than before because the haircut speaks so loudly, you know? It's just like it makes everything easy. Like I can just wear an all-black outfit to go out for dinner one night and it looks like a vibe because of the hair. I can wear like a simple little dress or something with like a boot and it's like
Starting point is 00:46:59 whoa because of the hair. Not that I really wear a dress a lot but you get the idea. So basically I'm enjoying taking advantage of my new haircut and wearing comfier clothes because it automatically looks cooler with the hair and the hair is the cheat code to a vibe. So, okay, two more. Stick with me here. I've always preferred a red-eye flight
Starting point is 00:47:22 because I love the idea of time travel. Like, oh, you know, you get on the plane, you fall asleep, you wake up and you're there, you know, if you can fall asleep anyway, which I've gotten pretty good at. And, you know, like, I mean, sometimes it's hard because depending on where I'm going and what time, I don't know, like, it depends.
Starting point is 00:47:44 Like, it's not always easy to fall asleep, but I've always preferred a red eye or a late night flight because I never want to spend the daylight hours on the plane. I'm like, that's the date, I wanna be outside. I wanna be doing stuff, which makes no sense because I often work indoors and I'm indoors all day. So it's like, what the fuck am I talking about? So I've always avoided daytime flights and I've always, always, always stuck to late night
Starting point is 00:48:12 flights or red eyes for the most part. But two days ago, I flew to Minneapolis, Minnesota for a meeting and there wasn't really like, I mean, it's a three hour flight. So like you obviously don't need a red eye, but I was like, you know, I guess it makes the most sense for me to fly sort of during the day. On the way to Minneapolis, I had a late night flight.
Starting point is 00:48:41 And let me tell you, I had a really hard time on this flight because I could not fall asleep and I was having like really bad back pain on this flight for some reason. So I was just very uncomfortable. I also like didn't really have enough energy to like work on anything, but I also couldn't sleep, but also it wasn't a red eye flight. It was too short.
Starting point is 00:49:04 So I was like, what do I do? Anyway, on the way back from Minneapolis, I had a daytime flight and I got a bunch of work done on the flight. And I was like, you know what, I think I've been doing this all wrong. I should start taking daytime flights and working on the plane. It's actually totally a vibe. It's more comfortable because you're not trying to force yourself to go to sleep. And it's equally as good of a distraction
Starting point is 00:49:30 working on the plane as sleep. Like sleeping is a good distraction, but it's more stressful because you're kind of depending on being tired and being comfortable enough. And it's just, I don't know, it's pretty hard to sleep on the plane. But getting worked on, it's like, work on something. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:49:48 And time flies. And weirdly, I got into the flow state so easily on the plane yesterday. I was like, this is, or two days ago or whenever it was, I was like so locked in. And I'm somebody who has really bad plane anxiety, which is also why I like to sleep on the plane because sleeping distracts me from my anxiety, of course.
Starting point is 00:50:08 Getting work done on the plane also distracted me from my anxiety. So I don't know, I don't know, maybe I like a daytime flight now. So I guess I'm saying I like a daytime flight now. Okay, last but not least, I am talking about a Chamberlain coffee product, but this is the only product that I'm even remotely affiliated to, okay? Nothing else has anything to do with me, okay? Like Bath and Body Works is not paying me to say that I love their caramel cinnamon butthole candle, okay?
Starting point is 00:50:38 But Chamberlain coffee is my company, and I do have a favorite from it, and it's got to be the oat milk lattes, and they're in a can, and they're really good. And listen, a lot of people hated our first canned latte because it wasn't sweet enough. And I don't know, it didn't work out. A lot of people didn't like it, okay, which I totally get.
Starting point is 00:50:59 So we made it even better. And it's been out for a while now, but I fucking love these, and I drink them almost every day. In fact, my favorite thing ever though is to have one of the oat milk lattes after my workout. There's something about it that I just, it just tastes so good. Like after I work out,
Starting point is 00:51:18 I want something kind of sweet and refreshing and caffeinated too to like keep me going for the rest of the day. I fucking love having one of these. Yeah like after I work out I want something sweet and refreshing and fun and caffeinated to keep me going for the rest of the day. There are lots of flavors vanilla, cinnamon bun, salted caramel, mocha, cake batter, brown sugar, there's a fuck ton of flavors, and they're all really good. And if you hated the last one we did,
Starting point is 00:51:49 you should try this one because it is really good. I get hating the last one, okay, I get it. Listen, I liked it, but also I have weird taste, but like I get it, I get the vibe, okay? I completely understand it. It was a polarizing flavor, because it just wasn't sweet and I get it. And we had issues with it. Listen, but this one is fucking, I'm saying with my full chest, I truly
Starting point is 00:52:13 love, love, love, love, love, and I'm drinking them every day. So that's why I have to include it here because as often as I'm drinking my fucking sparkling water with apple cider vinegar, I'm also drinking that. Although actually, no, I'm only having like one of the oat milk lattes a day, whereas I am having like three apple cider vinegar drinks per day. It's very weird. So I actually am having more of that.
Starting point is 00:52:36 Anyway, if you want to find those, those are in retail stores now, Target, Albertsons, and more. So go find those if you want a little easy oat milk latte in a can and you don't wanna have to make it yourself because I get it. In the afternoon, you just wanna grab something, okay? That's the fucking vibe.
Starting point is 00:52:57 Anyway, those are the things that I've been liking right now. Let me know what you've been liking, okay? What are you into right now?
