So Broden got to meet Bobby T. for the first time last week. And we are, full disclosure, we're banking these two. Bobby T. is here for a second podcast, but Broden literally just met Bobby T. We're still in the fallout from that. What does it feel like having just met the probably the most popular Auntie Donna character

there's ever been? I'm conflicted. Yeah, wow, okay. Tell us about that, Brody. Well, I like the energy it's brought to the room. I like that there is this glimmer and glint in your eye in both of your eyes, how that came in and why you're getting joy from this

we don't need to go into. But I am conflicted because of the other side, every time that Sam puts on that voice, it makes me feel sick a bit and it grates on my ear. So you don't like Bobby T. Now that's very interesting because if you've listened to the old... I said I'm conflicted. Yeah. If you've listened to the last two episodes Well I said I'm conflicted. Yeah. If you've listened to the last two episodes you would know that Bobby T has taken the Aunty Donna world by storm. If we had a pre-edited package we'd throw to that right now.

Yes we would. Or you'd imagine that like, Bobby T has taken the world by storm and then we cut to like footage of Bobby T. But that is the story so far. Bobby T came into the podcast two weeks ago. He blew me and Mark away with, well Sam was playing it with this fresh approach to a character based on a real person but with an absurd layer on top of it. I went to high school with Daniel Eck. She went to high school with Daniel Eck who founded Spotify. So this is all based on a true character. You know all that from the first episode. Second episode, we wanted Broden to meet Bobby T.

In that time, Bobby T. blew up online. The Reddit community went crazy. The Instagram community went crazy. One person even heckled Broden at his live show, which we would never encourage and never recommend. Also someone heckled me at my show about Bobby T. so it wasn't just a Broden thing. No. But don't heckle my shows. Everyone was heckling us about it. You had some stuff about Bobby T. It wasn't aimed at Broden. No. We all had it. You guys are crazy for

heckling us all. I know. I was getting yelled at down the street. Yeah, crazy stuff. Broden finally met Bobby T. Loved Bobby T. Yeah. Yes. Loved Bobby T. Bobby T is funny, hilarious. And now we've got Bobby T back on for another week. Maybe.

Permanently. Potentially. That all depends on, you know. Sam, you agreed to that? I've checked Bobby T's schedule. Go check Bobby T's schedule. But, Sweden. Next week we'll be playing around with one of our better known concepts to see if Bobby T fits into funny mums and dads or fits into land party.

This week we just want to spend a little more time getting to know Bobby T. So this is Bobby T month, obviously. Yeah, yeah, because Broden hasn't been able to fully feel the magic of Bobby T. Because as much as Broden, I see Broden saying he loves Bobby T, he's into it, you don't seem convinced. You're giggling Bobby T right now? No, I'm just looking at Sweden in Sweden facts. Oh, right, see Bobby, Broden's getting on board with Bobby T.

Yeah, nice, nice. And I, no doubt, because Broden can see now the genius of Bobby T. A character that makes sense, works. Do you live in Stockholm? Yeah. Okay. And what's life, did you grow up in Stockholm? I grew up in Stockholm and I go to school, high school with Daniel Eck. Did you catch that?

Did you catch all that? Yeah, so I went to school in Stockholm, I went to school with Daniel Eck. And what school was that? I'm real. You're real. I'm a school. So, Bobby T is a real person. Bobby T is a real person.

So Sam, I think for a documentary. You can break, you can break. Were you on a documentary? They make a limited series about me. Limited series. And Bobby T was a character in this series about Daniel Ek and Spotify and how it rips off artists and Sam decided well... Is that a real character?

Bobby T's a real person. Bobby T's a real person and what Sam thought would be interesting is what would happen if I took this real person with a real gripe with Daniel Ek who went to high school with him and I added an absurd voice to it. He brought it to the podcast, took me and Mark a beat to get on board. Yeah. They make show about me called Playlist. Playlist. Playlist.

They make show about me. Took me and Mark a beat to get on board. If anything, I don't think we were even on board by the end of the episode. Sam was a great character. It's not Judas. Yeah. But the fan response was so crazy. We all had comments, heckles, all of us equally.

And now Bobby T is back for a third consecutive week. That's how much the fans love and respond to Bobby T. The best character in the Aunty Donna podcast. And Broden agrees with that? Yeah. Yes you do, of course you do. You'd be crazy if you didn't. Yeah. But you agree, you agree, right? Yes, I said I agree. You think you've, Bobby T is funny? I said I agree. But would you say you're a wolf or a lamb?

Fucking, I'm a wolf. You're a wolf. I'm a bear wolf. Yeah, so you lead. What's that, white ones? What's those white ones that are extinct? A dire wolf. I'm a dire wolf.

Well, not anymore. Not anymore. No, they are, they are extinct. They made them. I thought it was a mythical creature, the dire wolf. So yeah, you know, when you believe something, you would never just say, you'd never follow the pack. Never. No, you're a leader. And you love Bobby T. A dire wolf would follow the pack though, because a dire wolf-

Not the alpha. You're the alpha wolf. Yeah, well you asked me if I was a wolf or a sheep. And a lot of studies have found that the concept of an alpha within a wolf or a dog pack is incorrect. They were misreading signals. But in a lion, you know, there's a clear lion lady. The woman. The male of the pack.

The women go hunting, that's right. The men just sit there. And then another elf will come in and when the old one gets old, they'll try and go in and they'll kill the cubs of the last male's litter. Nice. Gobble them up. So that's interesting that you're the kind of person who wouldn't just follow... You wouldn't just follow.

Bobby T isn't that funny, Broden. Broden, Broden. Broden, Broden. When we first heard Bobby T, it was a bad day for Sam because the character didn't quite land in the room. Wasn't as much of a home runner as maybe Sam thought it would be when he brought it in. And so Zach and I looked to each other and we went, well, what are we going to do here? And at that moment, Broden, we made a decision because we thought, sure, we don't have the character we hoped we'd have, but we do have an opportunity here. Yeah. We have an opportunity to do the biggest social experiment

ever committed on a podcast ever. And to maybe get our friend Broden to learn a little something about himself, maybe reveal a darker side of him that he wasn't aware existed, and get him to be a little more honest. So what did I do? Broden.

Broden. What did I? The episode that you weren't allowed to listen to, there was actually a reason why you weren't allowed to listen to. Sam, do you want to fill Broden in a little bit on this? On the episode? Who are you really? This is Sam Lingham, he's the head writer.

Okay. Yeah. Now Bobby T's a real person, Broden. And, he's the head writer. Okay. Yeah. No, Bobby T's a real person, Brody. And he did bring the character of Bobby T. He was in a limited series, she was in a limited series called Playlist. It's also just everyone, the thing is everyone in that series is real

except for Bobby T. Ah, Bobby T's like a fictional. I remember this from the episode, you had to explain all of this to us. Sort of was, I guess. How did it play out on the day? You came in, you had to explain all of this to us. It sort of was, I guess. How did it play out on the day? You came in, you did Bobby T. Yeah, I did Bobby T. You stopped and you said, what's going on? Yeah.

Explain to us what's going on. Then I did it some more. Yeah. And then you, Operation, Prank Broden, Operation. I wouldn't call this a prank. I would call this the greatest, the single greatest psychological experiment involving the greatest amount of participants ever committed in the history of podcasting. Because it's really interesting what happened. What did you learn?

Well, I'd love to hold a mirror up to you now so you can see exactly what you emotionally and psychologically what you've just been through. You think this has been successful for you guys? I think we proved something. Broden, this is not for us. This was for you to learn a lesson about yourself. Shall we tell him what we told the fans to do? Yeah, I think we should.

So that organic response to Bobby T. That those comments in the Reddit, those comments under the videos, even the disagreements, even the fact that not everyone was on board. A point that I think you took to make that this was possibly real or was real because of the disagreement and the variety in the opinion.

That's not what I think. Yes it is. All of that Broden was orchestrated by us and of course executed by our beautiful, amazing fans. Last week I was talking ill of them. I spoke poorly of them. I said I would cut off their noses. No, that was all part of the ruse.

I love our fans and they were in on the joke and they executed it perfectly. There are around a hundred thousand people maybe that listen to this podcast and they together... Are you sure about that? I don't fucking know. But they, let's say ten, and they played you like the fiddle that you are and this is the lesson. Fuck did you call me? A fiddle? We said to them, we said to them, don't be too full on about it. We said, make it subtle, make it seem like you just like the character. And they did it beautifully. We said to them, make sure you scroll through the Reddit or the comments and that if there's already a lot of positivity, don't engage or just like upvote things.

And that's exactly what they did. They were so subtle with it, Broden. To create an environment in which you would step into to reveal something that maybe you didn't know about yourself. Which is? Which is, Broden. You tell me what I learned. That I don't think you think for yourself.

When you first met Bobby T. You fucking what? When you first met Bobby T, we asked you what you thought. I get it, I get it. And you said, Bobby T is so funny. I'm pretty sure you said it. You said Bobby T is hilarious. You wanted to have Bobby T on.

This is recorded, cunt. We've got Bobby T on, Sam. Sam is here, is he not, Sam? Yeah, I'm here. Sam is here, is he not, Sam? Yeah, I'm here. Sam is here. Why is Sam here for this episode? You agreed. You thought it would be a wonderful idea

to keep Bobby T on as a guest because of how funny they were and the response. At one point, I said to you, Broden, we're happy to cut Bobby T, it's your choice. And at that point, you made the choice to keep on Bobby T. With no pressure from us. We just simply offered you a choice and you made it. Isn't that interesting?

We practiced to remain neutral the entire time so that the decision ultimately was yours and it was and you chose to keep Bobby T because of how funny you thought they were and the reveal today Broden is that Bobby T is a trash piece of shit character. No, it's a fine character it's like I'm it was worth a shot didn't quite land and yet we don't have to be too mean to Sam about Bobby T. No, no, no it's not about that. It was an alright idea. It was an alright idea. It was an alright idea.

It just didn't stick the lamb in. And yet you were adamant that it's the funniest character that's ever been on this podcast. How are you feeling right now? You must be feeling pretty crazy, pretty nuts. Pretty wild. Must be looking inward a lot. I'm in shock. Yeah, yeah.

Yeah, yeah. The first little things I probably need to bring up is I never was fully on board with and I was pretty clear with my... Easy to say now. Interesting. That's interesting you would say that. Then why did you agree to have Bobby T come back? Because you said, don't you think that Bobby T should come back?

So you're easily influenced by those around you. I would say I'm agreeable in this dynamic, yes. So you have a problem saying no? I would say in this circumstance where there is no stakes. Yeah. So you're saying so. So. So.

I would say in these circumstances. Yeah. I was more than happy to sit through 30 minutes of this character, if it made everyone happy. But your gut, your core, your core. What do you want me to say? What would make you feel better, Mark? What I'm saying is, is the truth that lived in you told you that Bobby T wasn't all it's hyped up to be, but you still, but yeah.

Oh, I would argue, Mark, I would argue that Broden started to believe that Bobby T was really funny. Yeah, I would second, I would second that. Yeah. I'll second that. Yeah. I altered it. Don't alter. How did that feel? Y'all turned to look to me at the same time

then for an answer. How did that feel when you heard all this hype about Bobby T. And it was so subtly played by the audience. They really didn't go too hard. They yelled it out to me on the street. Yeah, and at live shows and on the street. I will just reiterate We we didn't ask them to do that. No, no, no, we wink then. I don't know

Oh, very clear. We were very clear with them be subtle about the love for Bobby T Don't overhype it because it but and that's what they did. They were so subtle about it. Don't think that's true. No, I think they were. And how did that feel when you started seeing this hype for Bobby T? What were you thinking about Bobby T? I went, there's some sort of anti-joke happening on the podcast. Wow.

I was fully convinced it was funny. Let's just stop recording for a second. Really there was nothing, there was nothing good inside you. Initially I thought it was bad but then.

And then one year, like we got a big enough audience that mass you know that it tipped and then reviews went oh they've always been great. That's something I truly think happened. Go on. And that's sort of what's happened to you today. Yeah.

Yeah. Go on. Just want to hear a little bit about whose decision it was to keep Bobby T around how that came about. Me? I did. Can you tell us about that? I decided to bring him back for another episode.
