And I got to say, man, you are one of the most underrated players to come out of Indiana.
Like, one of the most underrated players that don't get talked about enough from the state of Indiana.
From your high school career to your college career and into having a decade plus in the league, man.
You have one of the most underrated careers, man.
We're going to talk about that shit today.
But if you don't know who we got,
Etuan Moore, my dog, man.
Appreciate you pulling up on this big job.
Appreciate y'all having me, man.

Now, look, he really out of pocket.
He ain't got that bastard T.O.
He ain't got the T.O.
Or the force that he ain't representing today.
He know his love.
I had a long night, Twy.
He ain't Florida, he at the different, huh?
This about your longevity.
Florida, he a new person.
This about your career, not mine.
I feel you.
For sure, man, we gotta take it back, man.
Like y'all said, class of 07, man.
Growing up, before Hot Tooth,
did y'all ever have any run-ins?
Yeah.
For sure.
I remember the first time
we played against him,
we thought him and my boy Phil
looked alike.
That is funny.
We could be like,
shout out to Phil.
We'd be like,
they twins.
We let it be your twins.
And he came out
and started killing us.
We like,
he played for Indiana Elite.
I'm like,
damn,
this nigga nice.
Like,
who is this nigga?
And we,
but he was cool. He was like he is now. Nah, that ain't a full story. Like who is this nigga? But he was cool.
He was like he is now.
Nah, that ain't the full story. You know the full story.
We was talking shit.
First time.
Nah, nah, nah. Talk your shit.
Hey, I've been way talking. I said I gotta tell the full story. That ain't all the way how it went.
So let me tell you how all the way how it went. So I'm on Indiana Elite. It was actually our
freshman year. Our freshman year of high school and I'm playing with a Island Elite. It was actually our freshman year. You did?
Our freshman year of high school.
And I'm playing with a whole bunch of guys I don't even know.
They just, yeah, you want to come?
We're going to get you some shoes.
And I'm going to, yeah, come on.
Anything free is me.
So, hey, come on.
You just got a pair of shoes.
You get to travel and have fun.
Come on.
I'm coming to hoop.
So I'm with guys that's from middle of Indiana.
I don't know who nobody is. I'm the only dude from East Chicago.
I'm just going out there just hooping.
And I see they team.
It's crazy.
I do remember the dude fielding with them.
Yeah, field cover.
Covered on before the game.
They like, man, you look like my boy.
That's your twin.
They joking on me.
They don't say they laughing.
I'm like, okay, they think it's cool.
They think it's cool.
That's crazy because he had the long braids back then.
You shouldn't go.
Long braids.
First couple buckets I got.
Oh, you think he cold, huh?
You think he cold.
They talking crazy.
I'm on a tent full of dudes, white dudes on my tent.
Probably me and one other black dude.
And they never saw me before.
It was my first time.
Before that, I before that
I ain't leave out of Gary Chicago. So that's my first time even traveling. So what a hoop
first couple of buckets and next couple of buckets. Are you weak as they turned up?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, about 1520, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, I think I'm quiet. I ain't quiet. I'm just super laid back, man. I can't talk and hoop.
Some people are like, man, you be quiet on the court. You just go up like,
I can't talk. I can't function. I ain't gonna lie. I mess up every play.
I'ma shoot something crazy. I can't talk and hoop. So, you know what I'm saying? I always
just be chill and I be mellow. I gotta be calm. So then by one, I probably about 20 points in, I got a shoulder shove and everything.
We just got a little scuff.
I had to push him up off me like, what the hell are you talking about?
You know what I'm saying?
After that game, after that, it was cool, though, man.
But that was our first time running to each other.
I'm like, damn, man.
He tried.
You know what I'm saying?
He wanted to smoke.
He wanted to squelch.
He was killing.
He was nice. He was about the same height right now. So he's like, I want to smoke? I'm like, you want to squelch. He was killing it. He was nice.
He was about the same height right now.
So, he's like, I thought he was a forward.
He came out playing point guard and shit.
I'm like, hell no.
I knew who he was after that day for sure.
Yeah, but since then, though, we've been cool, man.
True.
After that, for real, we just found out like, dang.
I'm like, dang, it's somebody else that's lighting.
You know what I'm saying?
Because I'm from East, I mean, y'all know I'm from East Chicago.
You see.
You know what I'm saying?
Neighborhood kid, probably the kids, but I'm leaving outside of here and I'm thinking
like all the other people from, you know what I'm saying, everywhere else in Indiana probably
like preppy and like, I'm like, dang, hold on.
They just like me.
They talking like me.
You know what I'm saying?
Then we hooped the Indiana All-Star.
No, crazy.
I played against y'all.
Well, I played, hey, let me tell you this story too.
I played against them for three minutes. Oh, yeah. That's crazy. I played against y'all. Well, I played. Hey, let me tell you this story, too. I played against them for three minutes.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But we played when you was on SYF.
Y'all, you, Robbie.
I had one of the best A.A. team ever, too.
Yep.
But every time, though, we saw each other after, man, it was cool, though, man.
For sure.
That was cool.
I actually liked them.
I'm like, okay, they just like us.
Indiana All-Stars
was a time man
oh yeah yeah yeah
oh yeah
we had a real good time
yeah that's when I knew
he was different though
Indiana All-Stars
cause you know
everything was geared
around Eric
like so we go to practice
you know
they was all going
to Indiana schools
I'm going to Wake
so I wasn't getting
no love
but they was
the Purdue versus IU
and practice
he like I got Eric I'm like you
know Eric was average before I already guard him all the time I'm cool he's like nah I got him
yeah what's up like I'm like oh yeah he different I'm like yeah he gonna be nice they would go at
it I'm like yeah it's crazy because I know people used to always try to, like, compare us.
And at the time, I ain't going to lie to you, I thought I was colder than him.
I'm like, I'm colder than him.
He ain't messing with me.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
I look back on it.
Once about time I got to Lee, I said, ugh, I see what that is.
I'm like, I think it was cold.
I'm like, what?
I'm like, maybe way colder than me.
I'm like, he was strong.
He could have went to the NBA out of 10th grade.
I went to that game where y'all played them at North Central.
He had that 50 piece.
You got your leg back?
Yeah.
He was.
Well, I think he got his leg back.
That's what I'm saying.
His career is so underrated.
And obviously, at time period, like everybody every year,
we had consistent McDonald's All-Americans.
But Eric was so good.
But y'all was just right there, too.
It just didn't help because everybody pushed that.
But y'all was, like you said, bro, you were in a state,
a time where everybody was cold.
You had to play everybody good to get that one.
Yeah, our competition was crazy.
And there's an amount of dudes that made it to the league, too.
Man, I tell people all the time, like, man, our competition, we was,
and everyone, like, nobody dug no smoke.
Everybody wanted to play against each other.
It was all love, too, at the same time.
Even with y'all, like, it was just so crazy because Pike,
even in them years where he was going 22 and 4, yeah, you got to play Greg Oden.
And if you get lucky and beat them, you get Eric Gordon.
Like, that shit's crazy.
Then you had Carmel
with Joshua Roberts.
Yeah.
Then we had people like,
people forget,
like Dominique James
that was called.
Richmond.
Shit,
we played Juwan
and then when he was
at Franklin Central,
they beat us one game.
Like,
damn,
Juwan.
You know what I'm saying?
We couldn't really escape
an NBA player,
really.
Yeah,
the basketball,
I feel like Indiana
High School basketball
the best in the country. Yeah. I mean, for other people, they might want to argue that, but for me, I feel like Yeah, the basketball. I feel like Indiana high school basketball the best in the country.
Yeah.
I mean, for other people,
they might want to argue that,
but for me, I feel like it's the best.
Especially that era, for sure,
that golden era here,
everybody had a NBA player.
Everybody had multiple D1 players.
Like, you couldn't duck that smoke.
But you said that 07 class, man.
Y'all was different.
Like, all across the board, though.
Like, everybody who got drafted,
and then y'all going to college.
You know what I'm saying?
Did you know y'all almost played college basketball together?
No, I didn't know that.
No, he the reason I didn't play college basketball. He said it.
It's crazy because I just took my high school team to Purdue,
and I was telling Coach Painter, like,
I had committed to Purdue,
but they had no scholarship for me.
For real?
Because of you.
Oh, no, man.
Maybe we'd have made one.
He can put his hat on just like that fox on here.
Why didn't you do somebody else?
I grabbed my Purdue hat and was like, hey, I'm going to Purdue.
And he was like, we don't got no scholarships.
Because –
I got to holler at Coach.
He ain't going to be here this weekend.
He was just telling me he was like It was between Me and you right
But he was like
He knew you and Robbie
Was going to school together
Or something like that
Right
And he was like
I ain't about to pass up
On Etuan and Robbie
For you
Like really
You're in a different position
You'd have been playing a point
And I was like
But we all could have
Played together
He was like
Yeah it wasn't
I would have taken
No chances
I was like damn But I wanted to go to Purdue bad bro You'd have been i would have taken no chances i was like damn
but i wanted to go to purdue bad bro you'd have been that's why you went away for it
i'm gonna get some black and gold yeah for sure would have been so nasty
that'd have been crazy and then when i met y'all at the end of all stars i'm like
i swear coach prosser had died that summer.
Right.
So they was like, you can leave.
You got like 30 days to go wherever you want to go.
Right.
And I called my mom.
I was like, you think we should call for a dude?
My dad was like, hell no.
They didn't want you there.
They didn't want you there.
Why you want to go back there?
I'm like, shit, it would have been fun as hell.
Juwan, you talk.
They cool as hell.
Even Rob.
People ain't know Rob was as cool as he was.
No, for real.
We hooked together in high school and Valparaiso probably what, 35 minutes from East Chicago.
I'm saying I didn't went over there, hung out with him, kicked it.
He cool, real cool.
Rob Markman Yeah, real cool.
And was cold, like obviously in college, but high school too, like Scott Mardae.
That's what I said, for y'all to win, y'all regional up there and then come, like it was
a lot of pros up there.
Yeah, for sure.
Rob Markman Yeah, a lot of pros up there. Yeah. Yeah, for sure.
Yeah, a lot of pros.
It's crazy because even like in my high school team, we had like six set like 71 dudes like
on my high school team.
That's crazy.
That's tough.
That motherfucker Kawhan was tough.
Shout out to KK.
Boy, he was cold.
Oh yeah, he was cold.
Kawhan short.
Yeah, he could have moved to college so easy.
Oh, so easy.
He used to come to open gyms when we were at Purdue.
That thing about he a lot.
D-Lyman. He 6'4 open gyms with Purdue. That thing about D-Lam. He's
6'4", 3'10",
3'15", and he coming out there
killing
some of the dudes that was starting. He come out there
shooting threes, posting them up.
Light on his feet, bro. Light on his feet.
Who was the other dudes y'all had, man?
Angel. Yeah. Angel, yeah.
Where the hell he come from, bro?
I don't know what angel came from.
Hey, you don't find a seven foot KD coming.
Nah, bro.
He was cold.
Angel Garcia, boy, came out of nowhere.
It was nice.
It was cold.
Y'all did not need that addition, bro.
Y'all did not need that addition.
Yes, we did.
We come one out of it.
We needed him.
Him and Kawhi in that front court.
That was cheap.
When he was dribbling the ball, I'm like, who the fuck is that? Man,
he got house.
Bollies.
Crazy.
I was like,
that's only English word he knew.
Passable,
passive.
Yeah,
that's all he knew,
but man,
he was nice.
He was definitely nice.
For sure,
man.
And then obviously,
you know what I'm saying,
you going to Purdue,
having a crazy career at Purdue.
How's it been seeing them with the recent success
and back in that time period?
How was that playing in the Big Ten when the Big Ten was
the Big Ten? Everybody was
lit there. Man, it was nice.
It's crazy, man.
I ain't had cable when I grew up.
Purdue was one of
the only few teams on TV. Purdue
and Illinois. Them was closest
to me.
Me, I was watching their game.
I'm like, man, dang, I wish I could hoop somewhere like that.
So, going there was like crazy.
I'm like, oh, dang.
When they first offered me a scholarship, I'm like, y'all sure?
Y'all want me?
You know what I'm saying?
It's because you just don't know.
But, man, going there, especially Glenn Robinson for being our way.
Big dog.
Us looking up to him.
That was crazy to go be on the same court.

Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
At that time period, y'all were so
good, but who was the part of the hardest matchup you
had in college? Who was that one player
because you were just like, that was the coldest person I've
played against? Out of the Big Ten?
Just in general.
Because you know, y'all had long seasons. Y'all was going to tournaments
long and stuff like that. I don't know.
It was crazy because we called Steph
when he was at Davidson. You got to chase him around. He was going know. It's crazy cuz we caught Steph like and he's at Davidson
You got to chase him around he was going crazy. Damn
Obviously every Turner
Easy not to pay a return in college was crazy 611. I mean six seven point. Oh, yeah
Man, it's a lot of you so many is it's just it's hard to name but those couple people I say we I said Thomas
Another look are you was going crazy at Washington? I I remember Isaiah Thomas my boy he was tough um but yeah it was crazy
man ATB climbing on Twitter kind of sort of like you like y'all kind of like downplay your career
but just be fun like you know Evan was cold yeah yeah you know this is hard you don't just walk
your way into the number two pick man national. Nah. National player of the year. And player of the year.
Come on, man.
He was cold.
He was unstoppable.
He pulsing people up, locking people up.
He's 6'7".
He's mismatched.
Yeah, E.T. was like that.
For sure, man.
Obviously.
Oh, go ahead.
If you wasn't going to Purdue, where else you was going to go?
It's crazy.
Other schools I like.
Tennessee.
Tennessee.
Tennessee and Georgia Tech was one of the other two schools I like.
Georgia Tech. Yeah, I like Georgia Tech was one of the two schools I like. Speaker 1 – Georgia Tech. Speaker 2 – Yeah, I like Georgia Tech, Paul Hill, you know, like I said, I would look
for some familiarity, so you know what I'm saying?
I like Paul Hill, you know what I'm saying?
I'm like, I probably can relate to him, you know what I'm saying?
He, you know, doing his thing at Georgia Tech, seeing the guys that went down that wheel,
buying them and you know what I'm saying?
Speaker 1 – Jack.
Speaker 2 – Jack and them, seeing their guards, go out there and ball out. And then Tennessee, I just like their style.
They was playing fast up tempo, trapping.
You know, Bruce Burrell, he was pretty cool too.
Yeah.
Yeah, so those are the two schools that I like.
But then I tell my J.J. them that they messed it up, man.
You know what I'm saying?
They all like, man, we should go to school together.
So I'm like, all right, perfect.
Let's go do it.
That's a hell of a class they had together.
No, that class really changed the whole thing for Purdue.
Y'all got it cracking again because Dave, Dave T, he like a distant cousin.
They ain't really have it going like that yet.
They was up and down years.
Then y'all came and it just turned. Ever since then, Purdue been a powerhouse, really. They ain't really have it going like that yet. They was, you know, they was talking about up and down here. Yeah.
Then y'all came and it just turned.
Never since then, Purdue been a powerhouse, really.
Yeah, and it's crazy.
It's cool for Indiana.
Just, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
How they turned Indiana back up.
Yeah.
Because IU, they same thing.
They had been kind of up and down for a little bit.
So, just the whole state.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
Represent.
But, like, Purdue getting, like, UNT, Toronto, it's a little different to getting like are you getting like Oladipo and then it was like more representation for people
from like yeah the city yeah yeah for sure now obviously you had a crazy career you know saying
it's time to declare how was that process for you um man that process was crazy I mean people
always ask me to ask me the question like man did you always like dream going and you always
knew you're going to be I'm like nah I was just hoping man, did you always dream going to the NBA? I'm like, nah.
I was just hooping first just because there wasn't nothing else to do.
It's either hoop or getting trouble.
So I'm going to say I'm going to fall in love with this basketball.
So me, for real, I didn't really realize I can go to the NBA probably
until my sophomore year.
I don't know, after my sophomore going into my junior year.
My first couple years, I'm just hooping.
I'm just having fun.
I'm like, man,
if I can go overseas
and play some cheese,
I'm straight.
It's going to be more
than I grew up.
I can be a little decent cop.
Yeah.
I don't say you can be
in the house,
give me a little Cadillac,
give me a little decent trip.
Are you going to wear the Caddy?
I said, give me a little Caddy.
I'm straight.
He's straight.
He should kind of go.
He said the Caddy.
I'm straight. Real trance lady. I ain go. He said the caddy. I was straight.
Real trance lady.
I was going to make the lead.
But for real, Jeff T was one of the dudes that inspired me for real because I saw him
hooping and balling.
I saw him get ready to go to the lead.
I'm like, dang, these same dudes that I'm hooping against, they going and they my class.
You know what I'm saying?
So I'm like, damn, if they can do it, then I'm. Like now I'm like if they can do it and I'm sound like I can do it too.
It wasn't like it wasn't like no India like I was like, it's like I'm better than like
dang.
Hold on.
But on the same car flag.
Yeah, that's my class.
ET.
No saying all y'all guys that I'm saying was in my class.
But it's crazy especially you was used a big one.
I was like man Joe from a ball.
He don't say from Sam same type of doing like that. But it's crazy, especially you, you was a big one. I was like, man, chill. I'm like, dang, he ball leaguing. You know what I'm saying?
He from, you know what I'm saying?
Same type of doing.
Like dang, I feel like, you know what I'm saying?
I got a shot.
So after that, like my sophomore going into my junior year, I did all the extra stuff
before.
I wasn't really even lifting weights or none of that.
I was just hooping.
Rob Markman, Jr.: Damn.
I ain't never had a trainer before that.
Nothing.
Like I just used to hoop.
You know what I'm saying?
But then once I got somebody that showed me how to work out and show me how to do stuff then
it was over after that.
But yeah, but it was crazy, man.
Pre-drive.
You know, I'm going out all the workouts.
I had probably about 14 workouts.
I'm like, man, I know all these things I was driving.
Why they got me coming in?
It's so crazy.
You got to do it.
Yeah, you got to do it.
Some of the teams, I like, man, you got the 15th pick. I know I ain't going no 15th.
Come on, man. I'm barely on the draft board. Y'all got me going here working out for number 15.
But it was cool though, man. Pre-draft process and then getting drafted was a long night for me.
55th pick. But I feel like everything happened for a reason.
For sure. For sure.
Like you said, to be second round pick
and have a decade in the NBA, it's crazy.
It's a lot of first rounders who fizzle out
and don't get to that second contract.
For sure. Man, you've been in a couple
cities, man. I mean, unbiasedly, what's one of your
favorite cities you've played in?
Played in? I mean, it's crazy.
Unbiased? I mean, how am I not be biased?
I mean, me playing for the Bulls is crazy. I mean, I'm growing up, like I said, again, I ain't had a cable.
So only game that came on the team was Bulls and some of the Pacers, but I'm channel nine,
WGN, you know what I'm saying?
I'm getting all them, you know what I'm saying?
And growing up during the mid-90s, Jordan era.
Real.
I mean, it's just surreal.
I mean, I never could even dream of that, you know what I'm saying?
That I'd be playing for the Bulls. You know, I never even dreamed of that, you know what I'm saying, that I'd be playing
for the Bulls.
You know, you'd be outside, Jordan, doing moves, but you know what I'm saying, you never
really thought.
You thought you had to be lucky to make it that far, you know what I'm saying?
So that was crazy.
All my folks get to come see me, come to the games.
Tickets was crazy.
Everybody needed a ticket.
Rob Markman I was going to say, I couldn't imagine.
Most of y'all playing for your hotel team, that's a focus.
Everybody's trying to pull up.
That's what's fair. Rob Markman I got a little I can't. I got a little smart with it.
I got a little smart with it, though.
No, because everybody want to come to the game with LeBron.
Are you playing the Celtics or something?
Yeah.
I had to spread it out.
Yeah, I ain't got nothing for this one, but you come.
Charlotte.
When we're playing.
Awesome.
What up, yo?
What you talking about?
We about to play Detroit. You want some tickets? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You got to spread them out. I 1. Speaker 2. Speaker 3. Speaker 4.
Speaker 5.
Speaker 6.
Speaker 7.
Speaker 8.
Speaker 9.
Speaker 10.
Speaker 11.
Speaker 12.
Speaker 13.
Speaker 14.
Speaker 15.
Speaker 16.
Speaker 17.
Speaker 18.
Speaker 19.
Speaker 20.
Speaker 21.
Speaker 22.
Speaker 23.
Speaker 24. Speaker 25. Speaker 26. Speaker 27. Speaker 28. Yeah, I got a little smart with it. I had to sort it out.
Yeah, I ain't got nothing with this, but you come to the next one, you free on Thursday.
You know what I'm saying?
But it was cool though, man.
So everybody come see me, watch me ball.
So it was dope.
Rob Markman For sure.
Man, that Bulls team, you know what I'm saying?
Crazy.
07 class again, you and D Rose on the same team.
That's fire.
That's crazy, because D Rose, man, he's another one I know, 07.
Yeah.
I've been knowing him since middle school.
First time we hooped together, too.
Crazy.
That's crazy.
It's like first time me and Jeff hooped together.
We was in a sad gym in the high school, man.
You remember that?
Yeah.
We was like a little, I ain't even had no bleachers.
None.
Right, right.
They had a wood stick.
It was like a tight-each gym.
It was like a tight-each gym.
What was that?
Nah, I'm telling you.
The gym was like.
Oh, yeah. They had wood sticking up and everything. I don't know like Pike East Gym. What was that? Nah, I'm telling you. The gym was like. Oh, yeah.
They had woods sticking up and everything.
I don't know where they had it.
But D-Roll, same thing, man.
You know, me from East Chicago, Indiana.
I was kind of crazy.
I always got to explain that to people.
Oh, you're from Chicago?
I'm like, nah, it's technically Indiana.
But a lot of people, they just run with it.
But it's cool.
I get the best of both worlds. I'm on the border. So I get they just run with it. But this school, I get the best of both worlds.
I'm on the border.
So I get the best, you know what I'm saying?
I get the best of both worlds.
And D-Rose only being probably, what, 20 minutes away.
We was in middle school.
First time I saw him, man, he was crazy.
What?
We like seventh going into eighth grade.
And I'm telling you, he down jumping from the free throw line.
Yeah, he was crazy.
And middle school, we on a little side jump. I think we like Proviso, East High School, something a little like auxiliary. You know, he down the jumper from the free throw line. Yeah, he was crazy. And middle school. We on a little side jump.
I think we like Proviso East High School, something a little like auxiliary.
You know, you got the gym.
You got the gym upstairs to the side.
Man, he up there for the free throw.
I'm telling you, man.
Like, no lie.
So I'm thinking, so when I'm young, like I said, I haven't been out really outside much.
I'm always hooping 30, 40 minute radius.
And I'm like, I'm thinking I'm the coldest dude, you know what I'm saying?
Where I'm from.
I saw him.
I'm like, I went back to the crib, you know what I'm saying?
My neighborhood.
I'm like, dog.
I got to see this dude.
I'm telling you.
His whole hair is the border.
I'm telling you.
I'm like, man.
I'm telling you.
He can go to the Lee out of 8th grade.
Hey, I went back home to my mama.
Daddy, yeah.
I'm like, man.
I saw this dude. I was crazy. So that was cool for us, and daddy. I'm like, man, I saw this dude.
That was crazy.
So that was cool for us, you know what I'm saying,
going way back then to be on the same team.
I think that's what the craziest parallel is,
even for the career for EJ and shit.
It's just like, if you're not going around to places,
these are the best niggas everywhere.
But they really are, though.
It ain't even just you being biased.
That's the best you've seen.
No, they're better than everybody everywhere.
Everywhere. Them two almost going to college together in your class's the best you see. No, they're better than everybody everywhere. Everywhere.
Them two almost going to college together in y'all class is crazy still.
Oh yeah, that's sick.
Them playing AAU was crazy.
Mean Streets.
Did y'all play Mean Streets?
Yup.
Played in the Peace Jam Championship.
I'm mad they boxing won me too.
They boxing won you?
You was cold.
Shout out to my boy Reggie Rose. Man, that's my guy. Before the game, he said, Speaker 2 Speaker 1 Speaker 2 Speaker 3
Speaker 2 Speaker 4
Speaker 1
Speaker 2 Speaker 3 He wouldn't let me touch the ball. But it was crazy, man. Them two, they was electric.
It's crazy because he offered me.
He tried to get me to come play with them two.
He rose.
Like, yeah, come over here, man.
Man, you're going to be crazy.
And you can shoot.
So they going to get.
I'm like, nah, ain't enough balls over there.
Balls.
Oh, yeah, balls.
Enough basketballs.
My bad.
My bad.
Nah, for real.
If you would have played on 18 because we played them in the big time Final Four.
We was beating them by like 20.
Eric crossed me at half court and dunked on this dude named Tommy Freeman, right?
You know what I'm saying, Tommy?
Right, right.
Boom.
Crowd went crazy.
They caught a charge.
Reggie jumped on the court.
Got a tech, went crazy.
Right.
So, you know, Indiana shit, we started kind of like holding the ball a little bit.
Man started going crazy.
Like, we sick of that white boy stuff? Like they going crazy on us.
So we start trying to hoop, man.
Eric went for like 40 in the second half, bro.
They beat us about 20.
We was up 20.
I was like, yeah.
Talk about, he was a different monster.
Come on, bro.
He was trash.
Literally, like bro, out of 10th grade,
he could have went to the league and averaged 15.
Out of 10th grade.
He was already training like that.
The last two years of high school,
he was just, he was really high school, he was just,
he was really just wishing, he was just having fun.
He was already 2'10".
He fit the description.
He could have went to the league out of his 12th grade.
Out of Southmore, it's crazy.
Like, literally, I'm like, man, ain't too many people saw like that.
Nah, for real.
He was for real.
He was legit.
What's the best team you done played on?
I think I know, but it's your career.
It's your career.
My best team in the league?
In the NBA, yeah.
My best team?
I don't know.
That's hard to say because, I mean, my boss in my first year was crazy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
We played them.
I wasn't really getting in the game.
They might put me in for a defensive substitution,
getting there for three seconds. Come on out.
Ruin them stats real quick.
See, I could be averaging
12, but you throw me in
for three minutes, come out.
He'll throw me in for two positions.
He told him about that shit.
He killed a career stat.
Now I'm averaging three for the team.
Hey, you know,
a kid's looking at me. Oh, he on the average three seconds. I don't know that.
It's a process.
It's a process.
You talking about that all my time?
They might throw me in.
You know, Doc is, man, throw me in into the second quarter for the last 40 seconds or
something, like some crazy might be in foul trouble.
Yeah.
Here, just throw you, like, little stuff like that.
But it was crazy.
But I don't know.
My Boston team was crazy, man.
I mean.
The Pelican team was crazy, bro.
The Pelicans team, yeah.
I know I heard y'all talking about that before.
Yeah, we all thought we, for sure, we all thought we was going, we thought we had a
chance to win the chip, for sure. That's one of the most talented teams that don't get spunk on enough. That was a squad. Yeah, that all thought we for sure we all thought we was gone. We thought we had a chance to win a chip for sure.
Rob Markman That's one of the most talented teams that
don't get spot on enough.
Rob Markman That team was sick just with Boogie and AD
bro.
It was like a twin titles.
It was crazy.
It was a day you had really three combo guards.
I'm saying I'm playing a small for but I'm really but I really get played a point and
two so it's like no you know what I'm saying?
It was crazy.
Like we had mismatches.
Then we off and guard anybody.
I heard though too.
He like, yeah, I was okay switching with Drew.
I was switching too.
You know what I'm saying?
That's why we must switch.
For some respect.
You know what I'm saying?
I can play defense.
I can lock up too.
But yeah, so it was crazy, man.
We was playing so fast, man.
So Bullion get hurt for sure.
We definitely thought we had a-
Rob Markman Yeah, I was sick, bro.
They had a score. But yeah, so it was so it was crazy man. We planned so fast man. So bullying get hurt for sure
We definitely thought we had I was sick, bro
We all started clicking no I'm saying everybody started knowing a role so start, you know, you know what it feel like where you ain't really
Even got to talk no more. It's just okay automatic. You already know
Yes, do that pistol action
Set the slip the screen I hate that shit was crazy. No because the thing we used to do that. I used to do that pistol action. Set to slip the screen. I used to hate that shit.
It was crazy.
No, because the thing, we used to do it so fast.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Pistol.
People, they know it's coming.
They know it's coming.
Man, he used to push off and get the little pass from Doe.
Drew was hella good at that shit.
I used to be like, bro, they playing too fast.
Team used to play us.
They'd be like, man, slow down.
Like, man, we used to be flying.
It was so crazy.
We was playing so fast.
Sometimes a boogie won't touch the ball for like five possessions.
Hey, man, slow down.
Y'all that ball too goddamn fast.
Man, y'all flying and setting up the court.
Damn, slow down.
He get me.
He gonna give us one or two.
He gonna give us one or two touches.
Man, y'all slow your ass down.
Y'all flying.
I'm like, shit.
My nigga needed his touches.
For sure.
Man, that's great.
Yeah, that was fun.
And to hear y'all talk about it, he's still doing it to this day.
To see Drew Holiday still killing, like, start off even with y'all still killing.
Like, how is that to see?
I mean, now he in Boston.
Like, it's just crazy to hear, like, all this stuff that y'all talk about.
And now to keep seeing it, then people will start to acknowledge it.
Because he was back there when Drew went crazy and locked up that.
Oh, yeah, yeah, man.
That was sick.
That was sick.
I mean, Drew, he went all the smoke.
He ain't ducking no smoke.
You know what I'm saying?
That's one thing.
You know what I'm saying?
I've got on the team with him.
Best player on every team.
Like, it's either you're going to bust, you're going to mess him up,
or he's going to mess you up.
There ain't no in-between.
You know what I'm saying? Either he coming at you or you going at him.
So that was one thing.
Every night, you know what I'm saying?
He was a competitor.
And that's my guy.
That's probably one of my teammates that I've talked to the most, you know what I'm saying?
After the league.
Good dude.
What you going to be here?
Who?
Drew.
Ah, Drew.
Wyclef.
That's my guy, Wyclef Drew.
Nah, Drew's cold, bro.
Yeah, people don't understand.
Like, even, man, think about when he was in Philly.
Like, man, how cold he was.
Yeah.
Like, man, handles was crazy.
Yeah.
Man, he used to be so athletic.
Like, man, he used to take off on with that left hand.
Man, Drew was cold. It's dope to see
him still doing the same shit. Still
playing hard, still killing, still locking people up.
It's a good thing he got some good knees.
I don't know what he did.
I don't know what he did.
I don't know what he did.
Playing under the rim.
Playing under the rim.
Slow down, bro. It's not N1, my nigga.
Mike Colley's still in the league
chilling, bro.
Under the round players, bro.
Under the round players.
I'm so right about that.

I got to ask you, man.
Obviously, you still tapped into the game heavily.
Who are some of the young guards you like?
You say young who?
Some of the young guards you like.
Guards?
I mean, man, you name it.
It's crazy.
Shea.
Shea go crazy.
Nice.
Oh, man.
Shea go crazy.
You can't even speed him up.
Like, he be in slow motion, but he's so crafty.
You know what I'm saying?
Get them fouls.
Obviously, you got Ja.
I mean, you know what I'm saying?
You'll forget about Ja.
You know what I'm saying?
Out of sight, out of mind, everybody just keeps forgetting about him. But man, he a beast. I mean, you got Maxie. Nobody expected for
him to be as good as he is.
He's cold.
Yeah, Maxie, you know what I'm saying? For him to do what he do, it's crazy. But yeah,
it's just a whole bunch of guards.
Yeah.
Cole, I'm going to give my boy Cole a shout out. That's my boy. My boy Cole. He right here in Orlando.
I'm going to show him some love.
Yeah, man.
Orlando looking good, too.
Oh, yeah.
Orlando, hey.
They're going to be something to reckon with.
Man.
Looking real good, man.
For a while.
He was in the running for six minutes.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
They got a nice young core, man.
Yeah.
They got a style of basketball, too.
That's kind of tough.
You know, with those big lineups.
You know what I'm saying?
Everybody, 6'6", a taller.
They was starting Markel at the point.
He's 6'5", 6'6".
And everybody else 6'8", a taller.
Man, that's tough.
They all locking up.
Yeah.
Coach Mose, too, man.
He doing his thing.
He be cold. he got the extension too
right he'd be oh yeah yeah yeah that's yeah that's nice man first time coach you know what i'm saying
hell yeah i'm being out you know what i'm saying one of us that's that's pretty cool yeah because
we we've not get that same grade so that's that's why because a lot of times you see like you see
situations um most black coaches get really tough situations where they gotta turn around a whole
bunch before they get a chance to even reap the benefits.
And for them to turn around so quick, that's fine.
Yeah, Orlando's a turnaround.
I mean, a lot of people on the outside probably want to look for them to be as good as quick
as they were.
But when I came back and played here, what was that, two years ago, a year and a half,
something like that.
But man, I'm like, yeah, they're going to be all right.
Nah, they got a squad.
They're going to be good going forward. They're probably going to be like right behind Boston next year
if they take that next leap.
Behind Boston?
If they take that next leap.
They're going to leave flags.
They got the, like you said, they got the big lineup.
They can switch one through five.
They got everybody talented.
Man, they play together too.
I can see that.
That ain't a bad take.
They need a bucket though.
They need a bucket.
I mean, if P5 take that next leap and just become the guy guy, they got it.
They just need a little bit more shooting.
Yeah.
A little bit more shooting.
A lot of people saying Malik Monk would look perfect on that team.
Malik Monk?
They need a guard who can score.
Maybe not Malik exactly, but they need a guard who can score for sure.
Malik Monk.
Malik can go get him a dub a night though.
They don't really need a guard that the school if somebody's made some shots.
You don't need no dub a night.
Somebody get you
a solid 15-14
by a kid timely.
They need like
saying about somebody
hit them timely shots
like when you need
somebody make a big shot
big play.
Yeah.
No sense
but you can depend on.
Malik need the pill now.
He's like
y'all got me fucked up now.
He's a stat.
He's saying
I don't want him
to leave Sacramento bro.
You know him and De'Aaron Fox
was my favorite
backcourts ever.
They need like
an Austin Reeves.
The Magic,
they ain't gonna get him.
But they need like,
cause he can make shots
and he can still
handle the ball and stuff.
That's true.
They not get him.
Yeah.
That's what a player
they need.
Yeah,
somebody like,
I mean,
Wolfie Purvis,
no,
I ain't letting him.
They ain't getting him.
But like Malik Monk might be too much. He too much. I need me the ball that needs. Yeah, somebody like, I mean, it would fit perfect, but no, I ain't letting him. I ain't getting him. Like Malik Monk might be too much.
He too much.
I need me the ball,
bro.
PB,
I fuck with you,
bro.
Somebody like Dante DiVinciso
would have been nice with him.
Perfect.
Dante DiVinciso?
Oh,
man,
he would fit in so good.
Somebody could get a bug at timely.
Yeah,
I don't need him to be 20 every night,
you know what I'm saying?
I need him to get 18 to 20
when it matter,
and then look explosive, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, need to get 18 to 20 when it matter. And then look explosive.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah, that's perfect.
Like, somebody like him be perfect.
But, I mean, he ain't going nowhere.
They might be able to get, like, bogey.
Bogey?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
That'd be nice.
They get bogey.
Yeah, that'd be nice.
Yeah, bogey would be nice.
If he stay here, you got to keep him healthy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
If he stay healthy, yeah.
Bogey nice.
Man, yeah, because the Eastern Conference,
that young talent is up there.
They got a chance. It's pretty weak
over there.
They got a chance to win.
Niggas was hurt this year.
Milwaukee was hurt.
That's a lot of injuries.
Don't mention hurt now when the
patience was moving on.
Nigga didn't say nothing about it.
Eastern Conference final. I don't give a
I told you. I don't care
I don't care
I'm not rolling with the Pacers this year
Nah that shit is Fugazi
Let us enjoy my season bro
It ain't even the season
Let me enjoy my season bro
That shit is Fugazi
That triggered me bro
Pacers had you for a couple years
I had my one and only year
I love playing for the Pacers That was for a couple years. Man. They had me for one. I had my one double year.
I love playing for the Pacers.
That was the best year of my life, but.
Oh, man.
I hate this show.
I hate this show.
I would. You think it's live?
You say he's a horse, but that's the best year of his life.
You say he's a horse, but that's the best year of his life.
I had freedom, bro.
You know how it is when you got freedom?
Yeah.
I ain't have freedom with the Hawks, bro.
We was the Spurs bro
You had to do it
A certain way
That's your career
I got the Indiana
That's your career
I got the Indiana bro
They was like
You can do whatever
You want
Just pass the PG
After that
You can do whatever
You want
You say he on the mic
He ain't keeping it real
Right now
Yeah I'm keeping it real
I'm talking as far as hooping
Now off the field
Respect
Respect
My first You say I don't tell you Say that No real shit though I'll be fucking with him Talking about his hoop. Now, off the field. Respect. Respect.
My first.
You said,
I don't tell you to say that.
No, real shit, though.
I'll be fucking with him.
Like, I even got,
I'm like, bro,
why do you want to come here?
Like, he's loving
the Nappers through and through.
So, I know he was going
to play for the Pacers
eventually.
Yeah, no, that was cool.
I saw you got 44, too.
What was that?
What that was about?
So, yeah.
I was in high school.
Ask your niggas about 44. It So, yeah, I was in high school.
Ask your niggas about 44.
It's crazy.
When I was in high school,
I wore 44 because I wanted the bigger shorts
and then like,
uh,
all my friends,
we,
I grew up on the west side of Indianapolis.
So,
like,
it was to represent them
so I could do that.
Oh,
it's just,
it's a wild shit.
So,
that's why he was back there
pulling that shit.
He was trying to pull on you.
See,
I knew it.
He had the brain at the door. He had the center of the brain sitting there.
He was trying to bully me.
My fucking brain is stinking.
That's why I was mad all the time.
He definitely was fast.
He definitely was.
Oh, shit.
It was crazy.
So, man, funny story.
My brother was at the game and he nine years older than me, so he ain't even used to get
to come see me play a lot.
And he saw me playing against y'all and the game we got into, he like, you know, I'm going
to play.
I'm going to play.
I'm going to play.
I'm going to play.
I'm going to play.
I'm going to play.
I'm going to play.
I'm going to play.
I'm going to play. I'm going to play. I'm going to play. I'm going to play. I'm going funny story. My brother was at the game, and he's nine years older than me, so he ain't used to get to come see me play a lot.
And he saw me playing against y'all,
and the game we got into,
he's like, bro, you know they from in the Napa.
It might be a whole bunch of them.
He's like, they got to fight.
He's like, man, you don't give me a jump.
No, but that was cool, though, man.
But that's the story, man.
That's crazy.
We go way back.
Man, that's crazy, man.
Shout out to the 07 draft class, man.
Indiana guys, man.
Like I said, man, we give you your flyers.
You definitely one of the people who deserve it.
One of the most underrated players.
It does not get talked about when we talk about players from Indiana going crazy, bro.
Appreciate that.
I bring him up every time.
Did you?
Oh, go ahead.
No, go ahead.
I'm just saying, I just bring him up every time.
Him, Eric, all them dudes that was on the Indiana All-Stars.
I talk about it all the time because I was like,
it was no team better than us to ever come out of Indiana All-Stars, bro.
Everybody on that team.
No, no, no.
We weren't even close.
Everyone knows.
So, you know what's crazy?
You know how the junior All-Stars play the senior All-Stars?
We was killing it.
We beat them by like 40.
They a year, two years older.
We killing them.
I'm talking about not even close like killing them.
It's crazy.
It's crazy.
That was my class.
Hold on, niggas.
Oh yeah.
Y'all ain't want no smoke.
Y'all ain't want no smoke.
Y'all smack 06?
I ain't play.
They play, but they smack them.
You did play.
Remember it was like three games, like a North, South and it was like a couple of years
or something.
Our senior year I played.
Our junior year I got in trouble.
I ain't even play.
Y'all smack 08. Oh yeah, y'all would've killed trouble. I wouldn't. Oh, okay. I didn't even play.
I was like, oh wait, oh yeah, I would've killed him.
Oh, hey, we murdered them.
That way, you know.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah.
Yeah, it wasn't even that reason to play them.
We beat them different times.
Chick-fil-A?
We beat them like 50.
Chick-fil-A?
Yeah, yeah.
So you ain't even have to go to sleep at night.
Nah, we was running around the hotel.
Y'all been to Delta?
What? Damn, man. Man, we was going to eat at MCL and shit. Y'all been in Delta?
We was going to eat at MCL and shit.
Y'all was pre-gaming MCL?
That was our pre-game MCL, bro.
Damn.
Oh, yeah.
17.
That's crazy. I ain't never going to forget them days.
I was like, ah, these dudes is cool, bro.
They my homies for life, bro.
Hey, man.
I had one of the most fun times, though.
Funnest times playing basketball at Indiana All-Star, man. We had a ball the most fun times, though. Funnest times playing basketball out of Indiana.
All-star, man.
We had a ball.
We had to make our own fun, too, because we had some games.
I was in Evansville.
I'm like, man, I ain't never been in this stuff in Indiana before.
Like, we down.
We went to, like, Martinsville.
We was like, we just.
They went out of pocket for having us in Martinsville.
Y'all playing in Martinsville is crazy, man.
No, we was in some places, brother.
I was like, hey, hold on.
I know y'all from Indy, so y'all might be used to this.
I'm from way up north, so I wasn't used to going to some places.
So we put, I'm saying, more of the story.
We made our own fun.
No matter where we went, every city we went to, we was clowning, man.
We had a ball.
We making our own parties, man.
It was crazy.
We had a time.
Man, it's a good thing we didn't have no cameras. Nah,. Man, it's a good thing we didn't have no cameras.
Nah, no cameras.
It's a good thing
we didn't have no cameras
and phones.
Man, we had so much fun.
We just had a tub.
Yeah, don't stories that,
man.
You know what I'm saying?
If you weren't there,
then you wouldn't know
about it.
We was clowning.
We had a ball.
I remember y'all
just came, bro.
Your freshman year,
y'all played Ripple.
Y'all came down.
Oh, dang dang you remember that
yeah
that's what I knew
that's what I
I used to be hating
but you killed us
did you hear what was that
yeah
yeah
this nigga
yeah
walking the gym
you feel me
you swaggy
y'all had them
big ass
weak ass
outfits on
they came in like
a college team
3X
3X
medium looking like a college team. Three X. Three X.
We only wore a medium. It was two X.
It was two X.
It was too small.
They put my nigga at the par four, bro.
Man, that's great, man.
He take it way back.
You played par four, bro.
You had like 20 and 15, bro.
Crazy.
You know what's crazy?
That was my second high school game.
Yeah, that was my second one.
Yeah, I know.
It was always one because we used to pull up on y'all. Yeah, that was only my second one. It's crazy. So you say that
because at first I thought I was going to be, I thought I was going to be 6'8". Like
he said, I was the same height. I ain't grown that much. I was already like 6'2". You know
what I'm saying? I'm a first year and I'm saying I'm handling, but so I used to see
T-Mac. T-Mac was my favorite player.
Don't worry about it.
I'm not mad,
but Mac was my favorite player.
He was my favorite player
growing up,
so man,
I always was like a big guard
since I'm sixth grade,
you know what I'm saying?
I'm five,
five,
ten,
sixth grade,
point,
you know what I'm saying?
Point four,
so,
you know what I'm saying?
I thought I was going to be
six,
eight,
so,
you know what I'm saying?
I thought I would be like
a point four,
so it's crazy. No, that's what I'm saying. I said I thought I was going to be 6'8". So, I'm going to say, I thought I would be like a.4. So, it's crazy.
That's what I said.
I said, damn, he played just like me.
Other side of me.
My nigga was on the first stretch forward with the light on him.
That's why you did the hand dribble.
He used to always, he used to always have like, damn, he do.
I'm like, hey, he's out of hands.
So, when did you start playing guard at AEC, though?
So, it's crazy.
Like he said, by the time he saw me playing, I mean, he was like, man, he playing a point,
but I started training.
Once I saw I wasn't growing no more, I'm like, hold up.
It was probably really, really like my freshman year.
Okay.
I started training.
I'm like, hold up.
I ain't growing no more. I was 6'2 at the start of the year,. I started trying. I'm like, hold up. I ain't growing no more.
I was 6'2 at the start of the year, end of the year.
I'm still 6'2.
I'm still 6'2.
So, man, after that, I'm like, okay, I got to get my guard skills straight.
It's crazy.
And I couldn't even shoot threes.
I know.
You had a post game.
If post game, I should shoot.
I was crafting into the hole.
I used to have like a little wide shot.
But I had my godfather, Coach Bobby Miles.
He took me under his wing, you know what I'm saying?
And he like, man, he like, man, if you want to have a chance to go to the league, you
got to be a guard and you got to learn how to shoot.
Man, he used to come get me like six o'clock in the morning and bring me to the gym, have
me doing form shooting and all that.
Changed my whole shot.
And, man, that was big.
You know what I'm saying?
So I always give him credit.
Yeah, I'm in debt to him forever.
He was a dog, bro.
He said, my nigga's undersized me.
Look at me out there.
And it's crazy.
I used to always, you know, since I was in high school,
I always looked forward to coming to Indy, you know what I'm saying,
coming out there to hoop against all the teams.
So that's crazy. Nah, bro, you's crazy I was a scout early bro I said once he make it out that's the truth
we used to go to Chicago play y'all and I had people out there I'm like who these niggas is
living like this y'all was wrong had people out there and I'm like, who these niggas is living like this?
Y'all was wrong but I said, boy they finna break that motherfucking ring.
Niggas hanging out after the game.
Oh yeah, you come to that, man, you come out high school games is crazy, man.
Like I hold all our neighborhoods was behind us.
Like you come to our game, our whole bottom section is all dudes from neighborhood.
They talking crazy. And y'all was arena yeah yeah the hardest high school gym that we played in bro
yeah it was tough it was you said that before yeah like that was oh yeah yeah yeah i never
came up with that it was tough willie frazier autumn my dog yeah i'm tapped in they're my big
bros right for sure For sure, man.
Listen, man, we appreciate you rocking with us, man.
We got to do this again, man.
We got to do this again, man.
We got to get that dead love, man.
Chopping it up with the homie.
For sure, man.
Oh, yeah, man.
Next time I got to come to Nap Town, man.
I got to come through, man.
Oh, yeah, pull up, man.
What you got going on, man?
You want to speak on anything you got ahead
or what you're doing there?
Any new business ventures you want to speak on?
Oh yeah, for sure.
I like all money.
Anybody want to invest in them, I'm saying, get your money, just bring it to me.
Nah, I'm asking you.
Nah, I'm just laughing.
Turn 500 into 50k?
Yeah, if you're going to triple your money, nah man.
But now I'm saying just transitioning to the other side, going on two years being out.
I knew towards the end of hooping probably like my last two, three.
I'm like, oh, it's winding down. I'm saying what I'm gonna do next.
Like I went for free agency before I went to New Orleans.
I had probably like half the league called me. I had probably like 14 teams called me.
And after I left New Orleans, I had probably like three teams called me. He had probably like 14 teams called me. And after I left New Orleans, I had probably like three
teams called me.
Then I went to Phoenix.
After I left Phoenix, I had about one to two
teams. I was like, okay, yeah, it's winding down.
I started seeing that trend, man.
Let me make sure I get
my, you know what I'm saying,
get all my cheese, you know what I'm saying, set my future
up. So I started getting into some,
first I started doing real estate. You know what I'm saying regular single flipping homes and stuff like that
then I got to some commercial real estate um one of my um coolest projects I got to do aviation
development okay Dallas that's pretty cool um you know so uh you know just transitioning to that
business uh for sure has been I've been pretty cool you know and you know hey man transitioning to that business side. For sure, bro. Has been pretty cool, you know.
And, you know, hey, man, it's a blessing.
Got to keep it going.
You know what I'm saying?
That's a fact, yeah.
Also, I might try to do something in basketball.
I want to try to, you know, get maybe to some front office type stuff.
You know what I'm saying?
Is that going to be, you know what I'm saying, get my suit and tie?
Nah.
Nah.
Nah.
Jeff talking to Jeff talking to me. I don't need a suit, man.
Nah, you don't need a suit.
He's talking to you right now. That's cool. I'm working on my look, bro. Don't come. talking to me. I don't need a suit, man. Nah, you don't need a suit. You just work in a polo.
That's cool.
Work in a polo, bro.
Don't come.
Don't dress like I did, though.
I pulled up like this to work, bro.
I was out of pocket.
I was out of pocket.
Like you pulled up?
Yeah, I was out of pocket.
You got to tell me that story.
You got to come on.
We got to tell me.
What happened?
You say you...
So I was working for the Hawks, man.
I was a scout.
My first meeting,
we had a six-hour day.
I pulled up in an outfit like this everybody
else came with polos so i was still in hoop mode like you know i'm still thinking i'm the guy like
you're about to walk in we're about to chill about to do these meetings and i'm forgetting that i'm
on the other side of the basketball now i'm in the front office i don't get on the court
so i was all out of pocket i felt so out of place i'm looking at everybody i'm trying to get up and get water and like
right so they won't like sit in the back so they won't notice me but nah i was out of pocket but
i knew that wasn't for me i knew it wasn't for me that's what that was your first i mean outside
the mars that's your first time getting the job yeah that was my first job i was working at a
grocery store bro so i ain't really that's buying a job to me's why I was working at a grocery store, bro. So I ain't really, basketball ain't a job to me.
It was like, that's something we would have did for free, right?
Right.
But working in the front office, I was like, dang.
Bro, I tell people all the time, I ain't make it playing basketball.
I'd have been hooping at the Boys and Girls Club anyway.
Yeah.
Just for fun.
Just for fun.
It's facts.
But yeah, man, I say, you know, I just try to, you know what I'm saying?
Obviously, I love basketball and I always mentor young guys and guys that's in college, guys that's, you know what I'm saying? Obviously, I love basketball, and I always mentor young guys and guys that's in college,
guys that's, you know what I'm saying, that's in the league still.
So I'm like, and I'm watching all the games.
So like, man, why not try to, you know what I'm saying, stick around the game and, you
know, being a player and going through every step.
Like, I was a starter for four, five years, came off the bench for three, four years,
then had two years where I was kind of playing,
barely not playing.
So, I'm saying I didn't got a taste of everything in the league.
So, why not try to give back being a player?
They need more players, more guys like us that understand what's going on.
And we can, you know what I'm saying, relate to the younger guys now.
Because guys coming in at 19, like my first year, like, yeah, he was on the old team too.
But my first year on the team, man, we had like eight dudes that's like 33 and older,
you know what I'm saying, when I was in Boston.
So now I'm in the league a lot younger and, you know what I'm saying, just try to bridge
that gap, you know what I'm saying, front office.
And, you know what I'm saying, some of the players, I feel like that's something that
they need a little bit more of and, you know, help give a little guidance.
So, I feel like, you know what I'm saying, somebody like me would be a good candidate.
So, I don't know if y'all see this.
Tap in.
Hey, listen.
I'm looking for a job.
Hire me.
