I got a question.
What's that?
You got an 84 clothing line, right?
Yes.
I think I should start an 85 clothing line.
What you think?
No?
That's on you.
I think, you know, I'm really not into fashion. I'm very
cheap, so I think it would be really cool for me
to have an inexpensive
line of clothing,
affordable clothing,
that's on brand for me and
what I represent.
I have t-shirts and
hoodies and sweats, everything for $20.
Yes.
I like that.
That's a good idea.
Canelo defeats Jaime Munguia
by unanimous decision, wasn't it?
I think it was unanimous decision.
Great fight in the fourth round.
He got in the pocket with Canelo.
Canelo hit him with an uppercut,
dropped it.
But also, it was a big night.
The Timberwolves take down the Nuggets on the road.
Cat Williams had his YouTube special, Woke Folk.
I was in attendance at that tonight.
And we had the big fight, Canelo and Jaime Munguia so we're
going to start with the last one which was Canelo Alvarez defeated Jaime Munguia by the fit by
decision great fight Ocho what did you like about what you saw from Canelo tonight well before I get
to Canelo obviously from Munguia Munguia had a good game plan. I think at some point,
obviously you think about Mexican fighters always want to add pressure, always want to come forward.
Volume punching, and that's what Munguia started out doing. First round, he won first round,
fair and square. A lot of punches were thrown. Obviously, fighting in the pocket when you're fresh in the early rounds is okay to do. Canelo normally starts slow.
He doesn't throw as many punches.
He somewhat dissects you.
He gathers information,
catches the rhythm,
figures out your routine,
and starts pouring it on
in the later rounds.
Munguia got dropped,
I think it was in the third round.
Canelo caught him with a hook, quick uppercut.
It was the fourth.
Caught him with a quick hook
and uppercut.
One of the things I would say about
when you're fighting someone like Canelo,
him fighting
in the pocket, as powerful as he
is, where most of his punches,
I don't know what percentage it is,
they're power punches, you got to be what percentage it is, they're power punches.
You got to be careful.
You got to be careful with that.
But other than that, Munguia fought a good fight.
But Canelo, obviously, dude, his ring IQ is phenomenal.
And he just wasn't able to win it.
I don't think Munguia had enough power also to keep Canelo off of him.
So Canelo was down there walking through everything.
Yeah.
It was a really good fight.
Really good fight.
I don't think he ever garnered Canelo's respect.
Because like you said, Canelo just started walking him down.
And then when he saw it in the pocket with him,
he caught him with a one doing the uppercut
and put him to the turf.
That was the first time the canvas, excuse me.
That's the first time Munguia has ever been down.
I think the thing is with Munguia has ever been down I think
the thing is with with with Munguia and he's so much bigger I mean if you look at him he's so much
bigger than Canelo yeah and I thought he could hurt Canelo but he didn't seem to really bother
Canelo yeah he tried some everything he tried to jab him He tried to go to the body, but everything that he threw seemed,
Canelo seemed unfazed by it.
You know, when Canelo fights, he's so
goddamn relaxed, even when he does get
hit. Munguia
threw some combinations
and obviously the first two or three
punches will get blocked in the fourth
to get through, and Canelo just unfazed
by it all. Unfazed
by it all. He always remained relaxed
even if he does get caught.
And it's so difficult.
They make it look so easy.
They make it look so easy,
but it's so difficult to do.
To get in the ring
or have punches coming at you
and someone trying to knock your head off
and just stay calm and relaxed
the entire time.
Which is why, obviously,
they are the elites at what they do.
Yeah, well, I think that's the biggest thing for any any great fighters to remain calm a lot of guys like to gather information
see what you like to do because the one thing you can do because unless you work up a good
lab in the back you're kind of cold and the one thing you don't want to have happen to get that
flash knocked down and now all of a sudden it changes your it changes your fight plan because
you're down already by two if you two unless you can knock him down or get
him out of there. So a lot of times, guys,
especially like a Canelo, like a Floyd,
like the really, really great
counter-puncher. Now, Canelo has
a little bit more power, but he's still
trying to gather information. Okay, this is what he's
trying to do, lead here. Okay, he's going to try
to counter some of my things. So, okay,
let me get into the third,
fourth, fifth rounds.
Normal middle round.
He starts picking it up.
He's gathered all the data that he needs.
And so now it's time for him to put his plan into place.
You know,
you know who else starts like that?
Who that?
They start slow and gather information.
Tank.
Yeah.
You ever noticed that tank?
Always the first one or two,
three,
three, right. The first one through first one two or three rounds yeah he'll let you throw he'll let you throw and if
i mean if if you if you in distance he'll let some off yeah but then as it is again as a round
progress round four or five you start to turn it up and then you know by the time you hit six or
seven now if you haven't punched yourself out but you know, by the time you hit six or seven, now,
if you haven't punched yourself out,
but you know,
you've already slowed down a little bit.
Yes.
He,
he started to ramp it up.
Yes.
That's one thing he has.
Great.
You know,
Mexican fighters normally have great endurance.
They,
they,
they can pressure.
They'll,
they,
if they're going to,
they'll down the shield.
They got no,
they got no problem with that.
Most definitely. Most definitely. They got no problem with that, Ocho. Most definitely.
They got no problem putting punches together and going.
If necessary, hey, if we got to slug it out for 12,
well, it is what it is.
Well, it is what it is.
But Canelo is a guy that he's not going to punch himself out.
He's going to gather that information,
and then he'll slowly start to methodically walk you down.
But I was surprised with how well he took the punches
that did get through the guard from Munguia.
I thought Munguia could really hurt it,
but I didn't get the sense that he did any damage to Canelo.
Canelo seemed really unfazed by that.
And the scorecards, 117 to 110, 116 to 111, 115 to 112,
all in favor of Canelo.
But I thought Canelo...
He looked good.
He looked good.
He looked like Canelo.
He looked like Canelo.
Exactly.
But this is the thing.
I'm excited.
Obviously, Canelo said in a press conference when someone asked him a question about fighting
Benavidez.
So I'm hoping Benavidez is the next fight coming up in September for Canelo uh if
it's not Benavidez I think Berlanga Berlanga is another one who could be a potential fight for
him as well I think he might save Benavidez for maybe the the latter end when he's maybe ready
to call it quits and and somewhat retire and finish off finish it off like that and give the
fight fans with obviously what we've all been waiting for
is a fight between him and Benavidez.
I'm hoping it happens soon.
Maybe it happens in September.
If it's not Benavidez, I'm sure Berlanger
will probably be the next opponent.
But Canelo, man, real deal.
Real deal, Holyfield, man, all the way across the board.
Yeah, you look at Munguia
threw 127 more punches than Canelo,
but Canelo landed 64 more punches at Munguia threw 127 more punches than Canelo, but Canelo landed 64 more
punches. Munguia was active.
I mean, look, running in
plays, that don't mean you're going anywhere.
So you active, you ain't landing no punches.
That's a good one. And that's
kind of how the fight materialized.
Yeah, he was active. Yeah, he
was throwing, but what done him landing?
Well, you know what's funny?
You know what happened
is I think after Canelo fought
Floyd, he became a
defensive mastermind. He became a
defensive mastermind and worked on his defense to the
point where he always kept a high guard.
He's been very good at slipping. His head
movement has been phenomenal. And you
pair all that with his ring IQ
is you get stats like you
just got tonight. It's someone you
have a volume puncher, adding
pressure, and he's throwing, he's
volume punching, but most of the punches are
landing because Canelo's defense has improved so
much throughout the years. They have.
Canelo landed 44% of his shots.
He landed 50% of his power punches.
Well, I think the thing is that
Canelo used to be a little bit more aggressive.
Lloyd broke him out of that habit.
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. He might not stop him, but he broke him out of the habit he he might not stop him but he broke him with a habit you know my girl said hey boy you got that
okay i might not stop you but i'll break you the habit yeah and that's what happens floyd
after he you know pull uh floyd with a pull counter everything he did man i'm tired of
getting hit upside my head every time i throw something something's coming back in my kitchen
yeah and so he he became a defensive, but he still has dynamite.
And so, like I said, he starts slow, slow, slow, slow,
and then he starts to pick it up after he thinks that you've tired it out.
But like I said, I just didn't think Mugia possessed the arsenal.
Or the power.
The power, the skill, the skill level is, I mean, this is a, you talk about a master.
Yeah.
Fighting a student.
And that's not to say Munguia won't get better.
But he's just not at the level that he needed to be in order to phase Canelo or even let alone beat him.
Right.
So Canelo was Canelo.
Fought a good fight.
He won.
Right.
So Canelo was Canelo.
Fought a good fight.
He won.
I won't bore you guys with the CompuBox number,
but Canelo beat the brakes off you.
Also, I went to the Cat Williams woke folk.
He had a Netflix live special.
I thought I asked you to see if I can get a ticket to come to. I would have flew to LA
and you ain't even called me or texted me back
or nothing. I would have liked to go see the special
as well. But okay, go ahead.
It was good.
Well, you know,
we were close to the stage.
You know, he shouted,
he liked to be incognito and said,
I don't big mouth Shannon Sharp.
Rad to be out. And so tell that little big mouth Shannon Sharp. Ready to be out.
And so it was a great, it was a great.
Cat's cat.
Yeah.
I mean, you know what you're going to get with Cat.
Went backstage, hollered at him for a little while.
Talked to Mark Curry.
Saw Monique.
Gave her a hug.
And then I had to come home and watch the fight and get ready for nightcap.
But Cat's cat.
It's unbelievable. He's
unbelievable. Again, I can't thank
him enough. We're less
than, I think, 200,000
away from being
the all-time, the biggest interview on YouTube
history. Yeah, you're going to get that. You're going to get that.
But that
interview is five years old.
Mine is four months old. Right.
Yeah, you're going to get that. Matter of fact, I got one That interview is five years old. Mine is four months old. Right. Yeah.
You're going to get that.
But he gave us...
Matter of fact,
I got one.
I got one
that would beat the cat interview.
I got two people you can get
and sit down.
You know, right now,
they're in a Civil War beef.
Rat beef.
And if you can get them to sit down.
Oh, Drake and K-Dot.
Man, listen,
you'll do 100 million views
in a day.
In a day.
And I can make it happen.
I can make it happen.
You just tell me to make the call,
I can make it happen.
Well, that would be unbelievable.
Yes, sir.
I mean, we're going to get
into that a little bit.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
My bad, my bad.
I didn't mean to jump the gun. Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. We're going to to get into that a little bit Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, my bad, my bad, I didn't mean to jump the gun
Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah
We're going to definitely get into that
But Cat Woke Folk, his Netflix
special, I was special, was unbelievable
They got a
Netflix has this thing going on
What is it, what is it called?
Netflix is a joke
Where they have 300 hours at 35
different events, different comedians
doing their
thing. It's from May 2nd to May
12th. Obviously, Cat
had a big headline. He had a big special tonight
that streamed live on Netflix
that was unbelievable. So, thanks
Cat. Thanks for taking care of me and my boy
CJ, who's the produced EP of
Club Shea Shea. He and I
went and checked it out.
It was unbelievable. It was great to catch that.

That's Patrick Claibon, Steve Weiss, Nick Shook,
Jordan Rodrigue from The Athletic,
and of course, Colleen Wolfe.
This is their window right now.
This is their Super Bowl window.
Why would they trade him away?
Because he would be a pivotal part of them winning that Super Bowl window, why would they trade him away? Because he would be a pivotal
part of them winning
that Super Bowl. I don't know why,
Colleen. Catch the podcast, the NFL Daily
with Greg Rosenthal every day.

And who doesn't want that? Listen now
on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts.
The Timberwolves go into Denver, beat the Nuggets, and still game one.
So they've stolen home court early.
Anthony Edwards was sensational.
43 points.
He was 17 of 29, 3 of 7 from the 3, 6 of 6
he had 43 points, 7 rebounds
3 assists
a steal in 2 blocks and only 1 turnover
he was plus 10
go ahead
I have a question
is it safe to say
Michael Jordan
Kobe Bryant
and Anthony Edwards
all had that mamba mentality.
The difference is
is Anthony Edwards has that
mamba mentality with a smile
on his face as opposed to Kobe
took everything serious.
Is it safe to say that?
Yeah, they definitely have similar personalities.
Basically a kill mindset.
We know Mike had that kill mindset.
Yes.
Yeah.
But he's...
From the outside,
he seems more charismatic.
He's smiling.
That's what I'm looking for.
Yeah, he's smiling, making jokes, talking shit.
Yeah, yeah.
But he's something special.
He has now 16 playoff games,
and he has three games of at least 40 points in his young playoff career.
At 22 years, 273 days,
Edwards become the second youngest player with 40-point playoff games
after scoring 40 versus the Phoenix Suns.
Only Kobe Bryant, who was four days younger, did so at a younger age.
That's crazy, man.
Anytime you can say,
you know what, I did something,
and I'm in the same breath as Kobe,
I'm in the same breath as Jordan,
I'm in the same breath as Chamberlain,
or LeBron.
Yeah, you're pretty.
Especially this early.
So I have another question for you.
Now, you know my basketball knowledge
and my basketball prowess
is nowhere near as in-depth
and deep as yours.
Yeah, but you're improving.
You're working.
I'm improving.
I'm getting better.
I'm getting better.
Is it safe to say
that brother Anthony Edwards
is top three in the NBA right now
and has the potential to be the face of the league
when LeBron is done playing?
I think we're going to have to.
Or am I off track?
You're not far off.
One of the three best players that's currently playing,
I don't think anybody's taking him.
If I got a team, I don't think anybody's taking him over Luka. I don't think anybody's taking it. If I got a team, I don't think anybody's taking them over Luca.
I don't think anybody's taking them over Yoke.
Not currently playing.
That's in the playoffs.
Yeah.
He and Jason Tatum probably fighting it out.
Uh,
Jalen Brunson is in that mix also.
Ooh.
Uh,
Ooh,
wait.
So you said Jason Tatum is okay.
Now you got me.
Now you got me.
So are you saying Jason Tatum is better than Anthony Edwards?
No, I'm saying that they're in that...
Because I think JT is going to be first team all NBA.
And I think Ant-Man, he might.
But I'm thinking more second team.
But it's close.
I think the two guys right now...
Luka and...
You're not taking Ant over Luka.
And you're not taking him over Yoko.
So now,
if you're fighting it out,
him, JT,
and Jalen Brunson.
But...
Hey, that's a good one.
We talk about two different positions now.
Yeah.
I mean, Yoko is a four, right? He played positions now. Yeah. You know, I mean, Jokic is a four, right?
He played a four.
Five.
Okay, that's right.
I'm tripping.
Luka plays a four,
unless he played a two.
He's a point.
He's the one.
He's a good point.
He's a goddamn one.
He's that goddamn big.
Yeah, exactly.
And then you still got Shea.
So if Shea... Oh, I've got an eight, Shea's going to be first team all NBA.
He's nice.
Yeah, he's super nice.
He got that same killer mentality, too.
Yeah, and he got a smile on his face.
Obviously, we know Ant-Man is the most athletic of that group.
Right.
But he put on a show today.
He had it all.
He had it all, finishing at the rim with both hands. He had the a show today. He had it all. He had it all.
Finishing at the rim with both hands.
He had the three ball going.
He had the turnaround going.
He had everything.
He was blocking shots.
He's sensational.
And I think the thing is,
like I said before,
you let him get the taste in his mouth
of blood of what it's like.
And he understands
that in order for me to be what I want to become,
I've got to do this in the playoffs, and I'm in the playoffs.
Let me make him remember your name, son.
Yeah.
When Denzel said in Remember the Titans, make him remember the Titans.
Yeah.
And, hey, you're going to remember the Timberwolves.
43 points.
I mean, a sensational performance.
42 minutes, 17 of 29, 3 of 7, 6 of 6, 43 big, big points.
And I thought the big yoke, Rudy Gobert,
I thought they did an incredible job.
And Nas.
And Nas Reed.
Well, Nas Reed went crazy in the fourth quarter. And Nas. And Nas Reed. Nas went crazy in the fourth quarter.
He did.
He did. He gave him, I think he gave him,
he probably gave him like 13 points.
Like 13, 12, 13 points.
He dropped 14. He dropped 14 in the
fourth. Like it wasn't nothing. Yeah.
They needed all that. But I thought
Rudy Gobert and I thought Carl Anthony Towns
did a great job. Yolk shot nine threes you can live with that that means he's not close to the basket exactly
they're keeping him out there they're keeping him out there and he was he was he he's not he
yoke is normally really really efficient he was level of 25 209 he was 32 points, a nine assist, and what?
Eight rebounds.
He's normally...
You don't get very many playoff games
where he doesn't give you at least a double-double.
Now, we know he's going to give you
double-doubling points, but it's normally a rebound
and assist. A lot of times, he's going to give you a triple-double.
But I thought their size...
I thought they did a great job
mixing it up up and they started
carl anthony towns on him they put rudy gobert on gordon wear him down a little bit no they call
him to wear him down a little bit that i think the thing is look gordon is not the threat rudy
gobert and so now look for rudy gobert to come help and he just really blocked blocked a couple
of shots coming from the weak side.
And so that's what you need.
Because we've seen Yoke
do a demolition job on Rudy.
Carl Anthony Towns a little bit
more athletic, a little bit more physical.
But he got him
in foul trouble. That was a really good job. That was
a really big win for the Timberwolves
considering Carl Anthony picked up
his fifth foul early in the fourth and had to go to the bench but anthony edwards and naz reed like you
said naz reed's coming in get him 14 points and ant-man doing a demolition job the entirety of
the game that was really really they needed that they needed that so they've stolen home court
yeah they've stolen home court from him early on. Go ahead. You heard
the media ad joking.
What can he do?
Yeah. Against the Wolves.
Three bigs.
Carl Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert,
and Nas. Yeah.
Yeah. And he
said to me, maybe he need a duplicate of himself
out there, a clone.
You know what? He's a comedian.
He has not dry humor.
That's what I'm looking for.
He got dry humor.
The fact that he can laugh, the fact that
he's still in good spirits and can laugh about it
after losing game one,
it lets me know whenever they have
game two, which I'm assuming is what?
Monday, maybe? Monday or Tuesday.
Monday.
He's going to go out there and have a goddamn game.
Oh, let's know. He's going to go out there and have a goddamn
game. But here's the thing.
Jamal can't continuously start
slow. Now he got it going a little
bit. But if you remember the first half,
he has zero points, right?
He did. I see.
Here we go again with me not understanding
you want to get your players in rhythm the head coach whoever the head coach is
you want to get your players in rhythm call plays for those players those individuals
you got to shoot the ball early the earlier you shoot the ball even if you do miss if you do hit
them you get in rhythm a little bit hit them you get in rhythm a little bit
faster if you get in rhythm a little bit faster it's no different than when you're out there
playing you catch a ball yeah if you catch a ball you know what that does for you inside and what it
does for you mentally right the confidence it shoots out the roof you get you you hit a layup
you hit you hit something you hit something mid-range boom now you're confident out the
roof now you get into
a rhythm of the game. The game
doesn't have to go through you, but
you feel that much more comfortable shooting.
And from that, I'm assuming
you'd be efficient. I mean, that's just my
thought process. Well, he just missed some shots early.
I mean, he shot great. I mean, he's the point. So he
has the ball in his hands. He can
take the guys off the dribble. He just missed
those shots. The shots that were going in against the Lakers,
they didn't fall today.
They didn't fall, yeah.
They didn't fall today.
A lot of guys, I mean, you look at some of the shots
that Yolk was missing.
They went in.
So I thought maybe play Reggie Jackson a little more.
Reggie Jackson played really well
in the little 14 minutes that he played.
He had five.
He was plus 15 while he was out there.
I think he should have played a little bit more.
But I think Murray will turn it around.
But they're going to have to be on their best behavior now.
They're going to have to be on their best behavior.
This Minnesota team, they really believe that they can beat the Nuggets.
They played them tough.
The Nuggets beat them last year in the semifinals.
Right.
But each game really came down to the wireifinals. Right. But each game really came
down to the wire and they executed.
And this game here was
nip and tuck and I thought
I was like, okay, they're going to get them
the Nuggets know how to win games like this.
They've been in battle tested.
Give the Timberwolves a lot of credit. The team
did an unbelievable job of
every possession, maximizing every possession.
Did a great job of forcing a couple of turnovers
to create extra possessions.
So the Timberwolves, they're not in awe.
They're not fearful of the defending champs,
and they got their work cut out for them.
Trust me, they got their work cut out for them.
Oh, Joe, the moment every rap fan has been waiting for
has finally happened.
Friday.
Let's go! K-Dawg, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake Battle came to a climax and explosion of song.
The day started with Kendrick's 616 in LA, which followed Drake's seven-minute barrage of Family Matters.
On searing seven-minute dance track, Drake unloaded on everyone from Rick Ross to The Weeknd to A$AP Rocky.
Drake used Family Matters
to levy some major accusations
that Kendrick Lamar, namely that he
abuses his partner and that the child's
father supposedly is Kendrick's long-time
collaborator, business partner
David Free. The song should have
been in the talk all weekend.
But K-Dot, it was like a two-minute
drill. You know in a two-minute drill, Ocho, what you
do? You call two plays
you call one
and you
hey
we gonna call this one
and we gonna come right back up to the line
first one on one
second one on seven
we got two plays called
so what Drake didn't realize
that when
he came out with 616
he already had something in the chamber
knowing that you was gonna respond
so
by the time we listened to that beat
like oh yeah
that that
boy Drake going at this ninja.
Yeah.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
He done dropped.
Dropped it.
He done dropped.
He dropped it.
Listen,
hardcore hip hop fans,
I think this is something
that they've all needed.
I think this is, this is good for needed. I think this is good for hip-hop.
Two of the best in the game
allowing their beef to show and display through penmanship,
even though they hate each other.
I think it's great.
Drake is good at what he does.
Kendrick Lamar, a lyricist.
There's so many layers to dissect
when you listen to what he's saying.
It's dope.
I like it.
I'm thoroughly enjoying it.
I'm not a hardcore hip-hop fan,
but remember when George used to release
and the line used to be around the block,
around the corner?
Yeah, yeah.
Because everybody waiting.
That's how I am right now when it comes to the quarrel between Drake and goddamn Kendrick.
I don't follow their careers and know the ins and outs of all the insults and allegations that are being said.
So I'm learning everything on the run as the albums are releasing.
of being said so i'm learning everything on the run as the albums are releasing and i'm not really jumping and and jumping and dissecting it and and trying to find out did he do this or did he do
that i'm just and i'm just enjoying it yeah because as a fan of rap in general i think it's something
that that i think it's something that we need it's exciting and it has me on the edge of my seat obviously goddamn kendrick dropped it
dropped again today and drake dropped yesterday which was really really dope very very creative
oh man hit the man you beat your partner says it's self-defense because she's bigger than you
yeah listen the the fact that drake added the to it, he added the visuals to it.
I mean, listen, the creative aspect and just the stabbing and the poking at each other.
I like it.
I love it.
Now, I can't dive deep into it and dissect it like a Joe Budden can or some of the people that are really embedded into hip hop.
I can't do that. All I can do
is sit here and tell you I'm enjoying
I'm enjoying it from
both sides of the spectrum as a
fan from the outside looking in
and the fact that they're getting
it done with the pen
and ain't going no further than
that. They getting and doing it in the
studio. We ain't talking about no gunplay
we ain't talking about no fighting. We do what we do best that's getting the doing it in the studio. We ain't talking about no gunplay. We ain't talking about no fighting.
We do what we do best.
That's getting in the studio, behind the mic
and using the goddamn pen.
I like it. Oh, man. I mean, the way he
hit ASAP, he's like,
oh, yeah, you talking about you doing what you was doing.
Check the timeline.
He went at my cousin.
Listen, I was
finna jump in. I was finna jump in.
I talked ASAP yesterday.
I say, bro, just let me know.
But I ain't want to do that.
He went at Ye.
Did you hit a line at Ye?
Like, oh, man, they are so strategic.
And if you don't listen, you'll miss it.
If you don't listen, you'll miss it.
And, like, dude, that's the elite of the elite when it comes to
writing
and creativity and
the art that goes into
making the beef, man.
Listen, I'm
like, the fact that Drake
is like 20 versus 1.
Oh, yeah. Hey, he's shooting
at every goddamn body. But here's
the thing. Right now, he's the top dog.
So, if, hey, let's take your enemy as the enemy to me, too.
So, hey, let's get him.
Forget fighting amongst ourselves.
He's top.
Let's go get him.
Let's knock him off.
He's Thanos right now.
He's Thanos right now. He's Thanos.
When I think about it,
you know, Drake, the fame, the money.
Kendrick.
Kendrick is the type
where it's not even about the money.
It ain't even about the fame.
He's releasing music
in a diss track
wholeheartedly
with a dislike for Drake.
Like from head to toe,
his essence, everything about him.
You can tell by the things that he's saying
and the way it's written
and the passion behind it.
He literally disliked this individual.
And this spans,
now that I've done the little bit of homework
I have done,
it spans from way back almost a decade.
Almost a decade. I'm like,
but goddamn, I thought
everybody in the industry got along because
obviously it's like football. Everybody
knows each other. Think about it,
everybody knows each other. It don't matter what team
you play for. We all
know each other. And if there are
there are very few cases
of people that generally dislike each other that And if there are any, if there are, there are very few cases of people that generally
dislike each other that plays
in the NFL.
Well, because here's the thing. I thought
the same. I thought it was the same when it came
to, came to rap. Okay, 50 Cent,
Ja Rule. There have been some other beefs.
LL, LL, who did you say? LL
Cool J and, um...
Oh, uh, Kool Moe D and, um,
Kool Moe D and LL.
Jay-Z and Nas.
I mean, it happens seldom.
Biggie and Pac.
I mean, it's not like reoccurring every single year.
So it's like...
Ice Cube, NWA.
Yeah.
You had Remy Ma going at Nicky.
There was a couple of bars
between Nicky and Meg
earlier this year.

So is this rap beef?
Is this the significance of it as big as Jay and Nas was?
Or is it bigger being at the time the change? There's more people involved.
This is like World War III.
You know, you can have a war going on between two countries, but
when you have the entire world going at it
now, this is what makes it bigger.
Because this was just Jay-Z and Nas.
But now you got,
so now you got some of the biggest. You had
J. Cole that was involved. J. Cole
like, hey man, I can see where this thing's heading.
Let me get on the bottom here. I'm about to exit
stage left. So you had J. Cole
in it. You had, you got Drake.
You got K-Dawg.
You, the first, and then now,
you got Chris Brown and Quavo going at it.
Right.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I forgot they going at it.
Yeah.
Hey, I ain't know Chris Brown know how to rap like that.
Yeah, for sure.
Yeah, okay.
Yeah, Chris.
Hey, Chris is one of the most talented individuals.
He is.
That I ain't know. I ain't know, Brian.
Absolutely.
Oh, yeah.
They're talking about Eminem and Benzito.
They went at it?
Oh, they've been beefing back and forth.
Who that?
Somebody else was going back at Eminem.
Oh, Mariah Carey.
Mariah Carey.
That's not even rap, though. Who Mariah Carey Mariah Carey that's that that's not even rap though who Mariah Carey going there
with you remember Mariah Carey Eminem was going at it oh yeah yeah yeah well that's what you know
they supposed to have a relationship you know try you know yeah yeah yeah yeah I'm supposed to have
a you know yeah yeah yeah I don't know man I like it I just like like like you said, this is this is would be the World War three of rap beef.
And it's I like it. I like it. It is dope.
You know, I again, like I said, I can't dive in and dissect it the way some of the people that are really good at it.
Obviously, I mentioned Joe Bud's name. He's really good at it because this is this is what he does.
This is a part of his craft and his art. But, dog, I'm waiting on Drake to drop.
I don't know if he's going to drop tonight.
I don't know if he's going to drop in the morning.
But I'm just waiting.
Kendrick opens his song talking to Drake's son, Adonis,
telling the six-year-old,
Dear Adonis, I'm sorry that the man is your father.
Let's be honest.
It takes a man to be a man.
Your dad is not responsive.
Kendrick follows more revelation,
claiming that Drake and his label
Ovo Sound are involved in
sex trafficking, even compares Drake
to Harvey Weinstein.
Share power and viciousness meet the grams
and the timing, adding to the belief
that Kendrick had access
to people in Drake's camp overshadows
Drake's release.
Views have gotten personal, anticipating Kendrick's
execution field like it landed
the most impactful blow.
Well, that's what you do.
Look,
if we beef
and we beefing,
oh, I'm going.
Everything is a green light.
Everything is a green light.
But I thought
when you beef,
I thought the key
is at off limits.
I thought the key
was off limits.
What did Park say?
F you
and the click you claim.
West side,
we come equipped with game.
You claim to be a player.
We bust a bad boy.
Y'all suck for life.
So ain't nothing.
Once you take it there, once you take it there.
Yeah.
What did I tell you, Ocho?
When they go low, I go to the basement.
I go to hell.
If they join me in the basement I'm going to hell
so don't be talking about
oh we're no kid
I'm not in hell now
what you taking that for
I just thought
this is
when I heard the line
and the message
and he used Adonis in it
I said okay
this is serious
this is serious
like they not bullshitting
and I didn't think,
I thought there was always
some type of decorum to have
when you do have beef with somebody
where certain individuals
are off limits.
Mothers, kids, spouses.
But...
Man, they're dry about what they do.
They with a mama, grandma,
everybody else on the porch
if I got beef with you.
Right, right, right.
So all that stuff,
that used to be,
maybe that was the old guard, like kids,
I think, that was in Scarface.
No kids involved.
Oh yeah, never, never, never, never, never.
Never, never.
Once you come at me,
I got the, hey,
I'm going to let the hammer go.
I'm getting everybody.
Mom, I'm talking, hey.
They letting it go on both sides.
They letting it go.
Hey,
so,
that's,
hey.
Matter of fact,
it's so funny
when I think about it,
right?
Kendrick
and goddamn Drake
going back and forth
is no different
than a seven game
NBA series.
Because that's what it's like.
Yeah.
They going back and forth,
back and forth, back and forth back and forth back
and forth and when you really listen to it despite the things that are being said and i know the
allegations and all that stuff that's being said i know that that stuff is serious or whatever
but dog just the the excitement for me as a fan on the outside looking in you know i'm not on
nobody's side i'm not cheering. I'm just enjoying
the beef back and forth.
I'm enjoying it.
If you come for me
and I didn't send for you,
I got to send you away.
Hey, my man, how your
wife and my kids doing?
Oh, yeah, I'm coming.
I'm coming.
Hey, that hurt, man. I'm coming.
You asked for this.
That's what you wanted?
That hurt.
Don't, hey.
Whoo.
Yep, yep, but hey.
Man.
Just the thought of it.
Like, I'm not a rapper, but just the thought of someone taking shots at McKee
and taking shots at Real.
Like, that just, That's just a thought.
You showed them your kids?
See what I got to do?
Now I got to put that
thought in your head.
Huh? Hey.
Now I got to go get a DNA test.
Now you talking crazy.
I got you looking at your people sideways.
Right. Hey, but man, looking at your people sideways. Right.
Hey,
but man,
let me ask you a question.
Who,
who numbers this?
Is that your,
oh,
you,
you paid a note over there.
Such as such,
such as such.
Right.
My bad,
bro.
Hey,
I just happened to be in the neighborhood.
Ooh,
don't play don't play
that sting
that's going to hell
and all gloves off at that point
oh what you mean all gloves off
I never had gloves on I've been dirty
what you talking about
y'all playing.
Like I said, don't play.
If you want to play, we gonna play.
Listen, I just thought
of that now.
Just a thought.
Hey, I've been sitting on these.
I keep telling about you. I've been sitting on these.
I got a thousand of them.
I'm on number 12.
How we gonna do this? I got a thousand of them. I'm on number 12. How are we going to do this?
I got all day.
Oh, man.
How does it who you got winning?
I mean, if you had if you had to pick, I think it's all on preference on who and what you like.
Yeah, it's just like anything.
If you if you like a guy, you're going to believe he's winning.
If you like the other guy, you're going to believe he's winning. If you like the other guy, you're going to believe he's winning.
Right.
I just want to just leave my guy out of that.
You know, right now, for me, for the longest time, I always, Park was my favorite.
Oh, yeah.
But that Weezy F baby.
Yeah.
That little N ain't the BF weird.
Yeah.
You notice, you know, not very many people go at Weezy.
They can't mess with Weezy.
No, not very many people go at it
because all you're going to hear
is that lighter flick.
And when that lighter flick,
you know what time it is.
You know what time it is.
If he the same,
I ain't got no Ghost Rider, though, Joe.
I ain't got no Ghost Rider.
I'm coming straight.
Man, look, you know,
Wayne from right here, man.ne wayne from right here now wayne from right here him and him and jay-z and i'm sure
there are other artists that can do it jay-z right here yeah off the top of the head so how does the
end though if you don't have a favorite right now between kendrick and drake how does something like
this end do you see them making up years from now
similar to how Jay-Z and Nas did?
Or is this something that's going to be on
running since the
hatred has been almost a decade long?
And now it's just boiled over to this
point. Yeah, I think
all can be forgiven.
You brought my wife
into it I brought your kids into it
it is what it is
we gonna put it down
and we gonna move on
but
that's gonna be a while from now though
don't think that
I'm still in the lab
just in case
you know what I'm saying you know what I'm saying a lot of times still in the lab. Just in case. Just in case. You know
what I'm saying? Yeah.
You know what I'm saying? A lot of times, you know, my grandma
used to cook stuff and put it in the freezer.
Right.
Just in case. I let it fall
out and tear your ass up again.
Oh, man.
But that's how, like I
said, me personally, i do think it's manufactured
i think because we haven't talked about the rap game we haven't talked about the hip-hop game
like we talked about it in the last four to five weeks yeah in a very very long time you know we
kept asking is hip-hop dead is this genre music dead well based on what we're seeing over the
last six to eight weeks it seems like this genre hip-hop rap is very much alive but but this is
the thing now we have a beef going on now who i feel sorry for right now or other artists right
now in the rap game that have projects they want to release. I think this hurts the timing of their projects
because the beef is going on and everybody
talks about Kendrick and goddamn Drake.
They can't release their music.
I don't think it would do as well
as far as numbers and streams are concerned
because Kendrick and goddamn Drake
are going back and forth.
But all it does,
all it's doing is helping
Drake because what, Drake's done 10 billion streams now.
It's going to help Kendrick.
All the guys that's beeping, people are going to go back and listen to their music
and see how close the diss tracks are to what they like, some of their stuff.
Because Drake always been sneaky.
K-Dot, you know, he calls, K-Dot, he always rapping like he's trying to save the slaves,
you know, free the slaves.
But, I mean, man, you know, free the slaves. So...
But, I mean,
they're clever. They're clever
with that. Very, very strategic.
Very strategic
in all that they're doing, especially Kendrick.
It's like Kendrick knows
the moves he's gonna make, and he's anticipating
them. And so far, if I'm
not mistaken, he's been damn near
right or damn near close.
But I like it. I mean, I
like listening. Like I said, I don't
really...
I don't spend an enormous amount
of my time during the course of the day listening
to rap, but
I find myself
listening to sites that was talking about, okay,
Kendrick dropped this. Okay, I'm listening to that. I'm like, okay,
I kind of like this. I listened to Drake. I was like, okay, okay.
Nice comeback. Nice comeback. Then K-Dot did what he did. I'm like, okay.
But I'm like, okay, how long are we going to continue this? Right.
And listen, the funny thing, how long we can continue this,
they're so good with the pen. This can go on for a very, very long time.
For a very long time.
It can continue going.
Or I can make that call and you can be the mediator
and we can have a club shea shea
and have them squash things right there on the show.
Right there on the show.
You know, it might be a situation, Ocho.
I was sitting down one time.
I was talking to this young lady.
And she was like,
Shannon, how long is this going to go on?
I say forever.
And I say when forever ends.
So this might be a situation.
Yeah.
Somebody going to have to call the truce.
Yeah.
Yeah, and I think,
didn't Cardi B have a saying?
When we beef beef we beef forever
hey this might be it ain't no i don't believe it's gonna be any general leads going to
appomattox courthouse with the white flag said okay we done had enough nah nah it don't happen
but uh it's been it's been a hey like i said I think it's gotten people back into listening to rap, listening.
People are staying by like, okay, is he going to drop?
When is such and such?
Everybody that Drake touched on, are they going to have something to say about Drake?
And everybody Kendrick touched on, is they going to have something to say?
Or are they just going to be like,
hey,
move to the side.
Y'all take off.
Let them go out.
Let them go.
Yeah.
Ah,
I like it.
You know what?
It's so funny.
They're,
they're in such a,
what's the word I'm looking for?
Both of them are in demon time right now.
Yeah.
Going at each other.
I don't think any of the people that they're calling out
can release anything
that will be as good as
the tracks that we've heard so far.
I don't know if I'm saying that the right way.
It won't hit the same.
Not that I'm saying that they can't do it,
but I'm just saying
the work and the craftsmanship
of what's been released on both sides
has been so good.
I think it just
wouldn't be smart
for anyone else that's been
called out to say anything right now. Just let
those two just go at it.
Yeah. I think the thing is,
but the question is, when it's all
said and done, when we look back on this,
will anything that they release, will it rival Hit Em Up, Tupac?
Will it rival No Vaseline?
Will it rival Ether, Nas, Remy Ma, Sheether?
When we look back, let's say 10, 15 years from now, what do you think?
When we look back on this, when we think about the beefs, rap beefs, do we feel any of these will be mentioned?
Now, obviously, they're going to be mentioned because we got two heavyweights going at it.
But when you think beef, you automatically hit them up, no Vaseline, ether.
When you think beef, you automatically hit them up.
No Vaseline, ether.
Just like... You know what's funny?
When I think about all the beefs
that have come out,
I think Kendra's
aspect in his delivery
is so fucking complex
that you have to sit there
and you have to dissect and actually think
and use your brain
to really put the pieces
to the puzzle together to understand what he's talking about right if you don't know everything
in its entirety right on what he's talking on what he's saying right i think that's i think
that's what i like about kendrick when he disses obviously drake is straight to the point and you
understand exactly who and what he's talking about because he delivers in such a way where you can
understand it right away and And with Kendrick,
there's so many different layers that you have to
fucking peel back and put together.
You're like, oh shit, okay, now
I get it. Yeah, that's what he meant.
I don't know, it makes it that much more interesting.
The thing is, here's the thing.
I think
most people think Drake, whether you like
him or not, I think right now
commercially he might be one or two.
The thing that made
Biggie and Pac, they were
universally regarded as the one and two.
Now whatever
space you want to put them in, you want
Pac one and Biggie two, you want
Biggie one, Pac two.
And so when them two titans
came together, Pac would hit
them up and then Biggie came back with,
who shot you?
And then what?
It was probably what,
about three, four years later,
I think Nas came out with Ethan.
No Vaseline.
I mean, hey,
and Cube said,
hey, I had something.
If they was going to respond,
I had something already recorded.
Something in the chamber.
Yeah, I'm something. If they was going to respond, I had something already recorded. Yeah, I'm ready to
unload again.
That's crazy.
Ah, that's crazy.
I'm enjoying it. I'm just waiting to see
who drop next.
But you know what I'm saying, you know.
I done got
to, we done got too old.
We done got too old to battle, to be
Ocho. I'm 50. I'm about to be 56. Oh, no. We ain't never too old. We done got too old to battle, to be old. I'm about to be 56.
Oh, no.
We ain't never too old.
We got a problem. So, if somebody
slap you, you gonna turn another two?
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Okay, well, there you go. You ain't too old.
You ain't too old. No, no, no, no, no, no.
No, I'm just saying, you know,
the thing is with me, look,
I kind of felt like Drake
because there was a period there when everybody
seemed to be coming for me
right and I was like bro
all that other y'all can say all
the stuff I got 15 baby
mamas and I got all this stuff but there's a
certain jacket I don't wear that size don't fit
me so don't play with
my name I got kids I got
grandkids.
You want to call me up? Let's have a conversation.
Explain to me why you feel
the need to say that.
What made you say that? Did somebody
tell you that?
Well, the way he acted,
he had an orange purse and he had this
and he had that. No, no, no, no.
Everybody knows at this point in time,
when you,
somebody,
Oh,
it's coming out.
Yeah.
As much money as Drake had,
he couldn't hide.
He couldn't hide that.
He had a kid.
Right.
So you mean to tell me somebody in my position,
he can hide that.
Come on now.
Right,
right,
right, right, right. Yeah, you're right. So that was my thing. I'm like, Hey bro, come on now right right right right yeah you right
so that was my thing
I'm like hey bro
come on now
don't play with me like that
but sometimes
sometimes
oh you got to tussle man
ain't nothing wrong
with a tussle
I ain't trying
I ain't trying
I ain't trying to mess up my money
hold on
you ain't going to mess up your money
ain't nothing wrong with
listen
you in LA
so you have to take
you have to
you have to become part of the
culture. If somebody say something to you,
you got to tell them to run you a fade.
You know? Matter of fact,
your name... I'm going to give you... I got
a nickname for you. I got a
nickname for you. Your name is Big Squabbles.
Your name
is Big Squabbles. I ain't trying to toss it
like that no more, Ocho.
Ain't... Oh, your hip's going to be alright. But here's the thing. All the ninjas that was I ain't trying to tussle like that no more, Ocho. Your hip's going to be alright.
But here's the thing. All the
ninjas that was talking ain't trying to see
me like that anyway. They just talking
from a distance. Right, right, right,
right, right, right. Ain't nobody going to run up on me
and say what they were saying on
social media. Man, stop it.
Nah, nah. You swole,
man. Nah, I ain't that swole.
I ain't going to play no games. You grab one of them boys and shake. You ain't that swole I just don't play no games
hey
well you grab
you grab with them boys
and shake
you ain't even got to hit them
you just shake them up
shake all the change
out of his pocket
so that's all I'm saying
cause see me
that's why
that's why I don't
play with people's names
I don't call people
out their name
right
cause they
everybody don't
