Starting point is 00:03:46 restrictions, terms, and responsible gaming resources. Uh, Ocho, the packer, Jarry Alexander Alexander was asked to speak with the media at the locker room clean up. He declined saying he doesn't know if he'll be here next year. He said he had nothing good to say so that he wouldn't talk. Well, I think it's over. Yeah, I think you think it's over too. Yeah, if he's not going to be there, you know what?
Starting point is 00:04:22 There's a beautiful place. There's a beautiful place down in the Midwest called Cincinnati, you know? We gonna have a little pocket change for you, Zaire. We're gonna have some pocket change for you. Come on over there, play a little man to man. Huh? I know you gonna see this.
Starting point is 00:04:37 I know you gonna come down there because Cincinnati has- No he don't. What? No he don't. Why wouldn't he? Why would he? What do you mean? What's he?
Starting point is 00:04:47 You ain't got no pass rush. Y'all about to lose interesting. Listen, we, as I hear Alexander is the top five man to man, man to man. Ain't no such thing as top five when you ain't got no pass rush. You know how that work, that go hand in hand. That's just like saying you a top five or six.
Starting point is 00:05:04 There's a reason why two, hey, with a, time reach up a he tried to get up out of there That they look different if they look different when you ain't got a quarterback that can get you that rock Oh Joe, listen, let me let me let me let me let me let me recruit. Okay, let me go Alexander I know you gonna see it I'm on down to Cincinnati. OK, I'm not asking you, I'm telling you now. If you go somewhere else that had nothing to do with Cincinnati, after I told you, you we welcome you with open arms.
Starting point is 00:05:37 I'm going to beat you up. Hey, you know, it's for my teammate. It's a quarterback in Baltimore. They got Nate Wiggins and they have more than Humphrey. Uh, uh, uh, uh, play the slot. They can kick Jaya outside. That your Alexander. Don't listen to what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:06:02 Don't listen to what I'm talking about. Come on down. He's going to have it suited. He's going to the highest. Huh? He's going to the highest bidder, Ocho. Well, we would be the high. Unless that although I think they still own his rights so they can trade it. They're going to go get the best deal. OK.
Starting point is 00:06:19 OK. OK. OK. Well, I'm out of the outside of the division. I will try. I will try to keep him out of the NFC. But if somebody in NFC offer me the best package, will he go into the NFC? Listen, they don't want him in NFC. Guess what a perfect place for him to go is? Cincinnati. Oh Joe, when last time y'all traded for somebody?
Starting point is 00:06:45 Oh, we traded for that because what's the one- When was the last time? When was the last time? It's not about when's the last time we did something. We're trying to change the culture in Cincinnati. Is that what y'all made Chase play on this contract? Cause y'all were trying to change something? Actually, wait a minute, now you know they don't pay nobody with two years left on their
Starting point is 00:07:06 contract unless you're a quarterback. Now, you told me you didn't care if he had 50 years left. That's if I was the owner. But okay, so with that being said, when was the last, see they got that same owner. Paul Brown was his dad, Mike Brown now. When was the last time they made a trade for somebody? Listen, I think the decision makingmaking comes down to Katie and Troy Blackburn. They're doing a phenomenal job. They've done a phenomenal job in changing. That's his daughter. When was the last time? You still didn't answer me. The champ want to know. I don't know. I don't have it written in front of me right off the top of my head. But we're trying to improve our defense. Why not go and get one of the best corners in NFL,
Starting point is 00:07:47 who feels he will no longer be in Green Bay? Yeah, we gon' get it from the Broncos, pair him up with Pat. No, man, come on. Ah! Come on. Ooh, ooh! Whatever, hey, they gon' lock the range.
Starting point is 00:08:01 They gon' lock down the range. Nah, nah, he comin' to Cincinnati. Ooh, whee! Comin' to Cincinnati. I didn't know that. No, they gonna lock the rain. They gonna lock down the rain. Nah, nah, he coming to Cincinnati. Ooh, whee. Coming to Cincinnati. I didn't know that. Nah, they haven't. We're already putting the beard out there. I know we gonna see this. Zaire, holla at your boy.
Starting point is 00:08:14 My number still the same. Oh, Joe. Russell Wilson plans on resigning with the Steelers. Justin Fields was four and two. Russ was six and six. Is it time for the Pittsburgh to go all in with Justin Fields was four and two. Russ was six and six. Is it time for the Pittsburgh to go all in with Justin Fields? Pitt is expected to work on signing Fields before free agency. So what should the Steelers do? The Steelers lost their last five games, four regular season
Starting point is 00:08:38 and the playoffs. That's five consecutive games in which they lost. What should the Steelers do? You know, that's a great question. That's lost. What should the Steelers do? You know what? That's a great question, huh? That's a great question. Now, what people would say is, well, obviously you lost the last five. Why would you go back to Russell Wilson?
Starting point is 00:08:53 Let's start with Justin Fields and have a clean slate and have him take over from that point. Right. Mike Tomlin, this is a very difficult decision. You know, as someone on the outside looking in, to me, I would I would like to continue with Russ Wilson and see what we can do going into next year. Right.
Starting point is 00:09:13 I need them to change the offense a little bit. Just what would you like to see them change about it? Push the ball down the field more. Thank you. Be more creative. You should be more creative. Use your office. Off offensive weapons. Everything seems so predictable. No, you mean offensive weapon. Offensive weapons. Oh yeah. Well, they gotta get somebody else over
Starting point is 00:09:37 there, man. They gotta get somebody else over there. They got they got to they got to one one more weapon to go and pick man. Just just just you know, some. But the thing is, look, if you make a commitment to field, you just got to go with it. Right. I don't think he's really interested
Starting point is 00:09:52 in signing a contract and sitting on the bench. You can't flip-flop back and forth, huh? Yeah. What would you do if you was Mike Thomas? As to get traded. Ocho, sometimes after 17, 18 years, it's time for a new voice. You think so? Because the problem is, is the Steelers are just good enough
Starting point is 00:10:28 to be a playoff contending team, but not good enough to go the distance. And so now you're kind of in no, you're a purgatory. You can't go to heaven, you're not in hell, but you're not advancing. Damn, that's a good one, one. I don't like it though. Do you think do you think the Steelers fan base would like that though? No, because the Steelers look if you go back and look at look
Starting point is 00:10:57 at them for the longest time. They had coach know coach know won four championships in six years. And then it was, he was mediocre. All the eighties, right. They went to the FC championship game, uh, damn Reno second year, uh, the dolphins beat them then after that, they was just mediocre. I think they only made the playoffs like in the last 12 years, like what? Four times coach coward comes in in 92.
Starting point is 00:11:27 He goes to the Super Bowl and not in 95. They lose to the Steelers and they don't go to the Super Bowl until 2005. They win. Mike Tomlin comes in, he goes early, wins, goes back again in what 2011 and hadn't been close since. So the Steelers are okay with that. It's still the same thing about them had three coaches since 1969.
Starting point is 00:11:52 They fired none of them. Chuck Norris retired, Coach Kyle retired. It's hard to walk, man. It's hard getting to that school bowl, man. Getting to that chip is hard, man. It is. to sport a lot of people the Chiefs are sporting a lot of people Because they have quarterbacks that make it look easy. They have quarterbacks that make it look easy man. It's not as the cool At some point time you see the Rams the Rams like we go for it they went all in and they cashed out right That's not what the Steelers at some point in time, you see the Rams, the Rams like we go for it.
Starting point is 00:12:25 They went all in and they cashed out. That's not what the Steelers do. That's not what a lot of teams do. But you see Detroit, they make that big move. They did a great job of drafting. And you know, hey, they don't have a problem getting free agents. You gotta do that. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:12:48 I'm just, and I'm picturing that too right now. I'm just picturing Mike Tomlin in a different, in different attire on a different team. And it just wouldn't seem right. It wouldn't. Andy Reed was with the Eagles for all those years. And they said, bro, we not, we make the playoffs, but we not really going nowhere.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Yeah. And he goes to Kansas City and boom. Yeah. Damn. You got to change something, don't you? Yeah. T.J. Watt doesn't want to go play anywhere else. Let's take a listen to what TJ had to say. I want to be a pitch person that you guys know that. I don't want to leave this place, especially in this. I want to be part of the solution. I've put so much into it here.
Starting point is 00:13:34 I've seen so many guys. I mean, I want to help camp here and get to where we need to get. I want to be a part of the solution. I don't want to leave this place. I love the people here. And that goes beyond just the coaches. It's the fan base.
Starting point is 00:13:48 It's the people, the community. And we owe it to them to get it right. And I want to be part of the solution, not leave here, go somewhere else. It's not my intention. I'm not even sure who even asked him the question like that, where he even has to say that, you know, he's a guy who thought that too, Ocho. Yeah, he's the centerpiece on that defense.
Starting point is 00:14:12 As his big brother. His big brother didn't want to go nowhere either. Tell the people at home where he finished his last two years, Ocho. Yeah, you right. You right by that. When you great and you don't have a chance because all he wants is a chance to really have an opportunity to play for Super Bowl. That's what his big brother wanted.
Starting point is 00:14:35 Same as miles. I just can't picture them. I can't picture them in. That's crazy. I mean, if you think about it. Uh, uh, uh. The markets where? Mm hmm. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:56 Cowboys let him go, say, now they release him. Yeah. John picks him up. Boom. So when we put it with Vaughn, boom. Yeah. I can't, I just, no, we took one of the premier past residents in the NFL, not being a Pittsburgh Steeler.
Starting point is 00:15:13 We're used to seeing them in 90 in a Pittsburgh Steeler uniform and seeing them go somewhere else outside of Pittsburgh. I remember Reggie was a Philadelphia Eagle too. Until he went to Green Bay. He went to Green Bay. He went to Green Bay. Yeah, that's crazy. I mean, hey, it's not like it used to be.
Starting point is 00:15:31 Our favorite players, Joe, me and Joe, Pittsburgh Steelers, Buccas, Ray Luke. I mean, yes, you want to see your historically great players have one helmet, but I also want an opportunity to play for the Super Bowl. That's that's why I want to see. I want to be on that big stage. Right. Steelers not close, Joe, they're not. Let's not kid ourselves. They're not close.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Yeah, think about what's in that division. Oh, yeah, they got to deal with Mark Jackson for another decade. They got Joe Burrow for another decade. They're not close. They're not. Yeah. So now I'm home for another decade. Right. They got Josh Allen for another decade. Yeah. Now, now that I come back to what I told you about one players to be, stop being optimistic and stop being politically correct
Starting point is 00:16:24 and just tell the truth on how they really feel. You know, so maybe maybe he's saying all the right things publicly, which is what you have to do. And behind the scenes, you know, let's age and do the dirty work. Yeah. Yeah, you say all the right things publicly. Yeah. Hey, um, they need the office where they need a play, another playmaker, get a little light, get some more line help. Um, Corners, they need some stuff. Yeah. They do.

Listen to football today on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
Starting point is 00:20:12 podcasts and you will be glad you did. Hope you could join us for the postseason run. Hey, it's Bobby Bones. Join me and former NFL quarterback Matt Castle every Wednesday for our new podcast, Lots to Say with Bobby Bones and Matt Castle. Between us, we have over 17,500 passing yards, multiple New York Times bestsellers, and one mirror ball trophy from Dancing with the Stars.
Starting point is 00:20:37 So where else are you gonna find a show with that much athleticism and football insight? Based in Nashville, we're more than just your basic NFL show. We talk sports, but we talk pop culture and music and a little bit everything, because we got lots to say. I texted you and you texted me back. Now, I don't know if you have the update,
Starting point is 00:20:54 but like all the little thumbs up and heart and stuff, like it's all colored. They changed it. And the heart's a little pink. It felt like I told you I loved you. I'm gonna be honest, it was a little pink. There was something sentimental when you sent you send it, it was like, do I send the heart now?
Starting point is 00:21:09 I don't like the color edition. It's extremely pink. Listen to lots to say with Bobby Bones and Matt Castle on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts. Oh, Joe Baker says dumb stuff from the laws were were on were wear on me for a while. How long did it take you to get over the playoff loss? Oh Joe. Well, well, oh, shoot.
Starting point is 00:21:38 Normally during the regular season, there's a 24 hour rule. Playoffs is a different ball game. Obviously, I didn't go to playoffs much, but I remember the loss to the Jets. Not only the loss to the Jets, I remember my abysmal performance against Rebus. Obviously, one of the... Oh man, that man didn't know more you. Hey listen, one of the greatest, one of the greatest, one of the greatest DBs of all time. You say you're one of the greatest receivers. Can I finish? Okay, go ahead with my bad. One of the greatest DBs of all time and one of the greatest seasons of all time for any DB, that 2009 season.
Starting point is 00:22:09 So obviously I was upset at that. It took me a little bit longer to get over, not just that loss, but me not being able to contribute in the way I felt I should have been able to in that loss in 2009. So maybe, maybe by the week, maybe by the week. And not only that, I went back watching, watching tape over and over and look at all the things
Starting point is 00:22:28 that I could have done, all the mistakes that I did do on why things didn't go well for me from an individual standpoint. Then I looked at us, looked at the game again in its totality and why we lost offensively. And it was just, it was, it was, it was, it sucked. It sucked. So about a week after week, you know, I kind of, it was, it was, it was, but it sucked, it sucked. So by about a week after week, you know,
Starting point is 00:22:47 I kind of let it go, let it brush off and just took my time off and enjoyed my off season. Depends. The Jacksonville lost never. Um, about a month. Cause you replay it over and over. What could you have done differently? A month. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:15 Jack and Bill, you never get over that. Right. Cause you know, we had to superior team. They outplayed us that day and we lost. It was really that simple. We got away from what had gotten us there, which was Tereya running the football. All of a sudden we want to throw it all over the yard and that's not what we were.
Starting point is 00:23:34 Thank God Mike didn't make that, ever make that mistake again. TD ran us home. That's why in eight games, four of those games he had, TD played in eight playoff games. Four of those he ran for 150 or more, which is an NFL record that Derrick Henry just tied. Seven of those eight he rushed for 100 yards. The only game he didn't was that first game
Starting point is 00:23:56 against Jacksonville, he had 91 or 14 carries. All the other games he was well over 100 yards. Yeah, I mean, it hurts, man. When you put the kind of time in and, uh, the kind of time that you put in to be great at a craft and then I think the thing is what Baker is that he farmed the ball and it gave, gave Washington the momentum back into this ball game. That's what stings. That's what really, really stings.
Starting point is 00:24:23 Um, you know, having a drop in a big moment and, you know, I don't think you ever get over that. Unless you win, I mean, yeah, I mean, I still think about Jacksonville, but it's a little easier because I did end up going three more times to the, you know, get into the soup, both three times or two and I won. But I still think about that. I could have had four. Maybe we could have won three in a row.
Starting point is 00:24:53 So there's a lot of things that, you know, you you you get in your own head sometimes and, you know. You think, what if? And I hate that because I've done, you know, And I hate that. Because I've done, you know, I've done that. And like, damn, think about that in a relationship sometimes. What if? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:16 What if I what if I what if I what if I gave someone what I gave football. Hey. Do you understand if you put the kind of time in discipline and fortitude and want to study in time that you put in a football into a partner? And you were you'll be you'll, you'd be the best husband man. Boy, a woman would. You know what? That's that's my thing. You know what? Oh, Joe, I might have to go back. I might have to go back. I might have
Starting point is 00:25:55 to go back to. Well, II know what she told me. I know what she told me. I know. Both of them told me the same thing. I'll I'll share with you. Wait, don't say it yet. Wait, let me give a pen and paper now. No, no, no same thing. I don't say it yet. Wait, let me give a penny pin for that. No, no, no, no. I go see it on there. I go see it on. OK, OK, OK. Yeah. OK. I know why. She told me why.
Starting point is 00:26:17 And both, I mean, two therapists told me the same thing. Right. Neither knew the other because they were they was, you know, 20 years apart. But they told me the same thing. Why I'm like that. Why do what I do? OK, OK, OK, OK. And that day I was I really thought about it yesterday and I did homework today. Now we talked about relationships and we
Starting point is 00:26:38 talked about therapy and you told me how therapy helped. But it got to the point where you just couldn't do it no more. You couldn't do it anymore because you were doing so much. You were starting to lose a sense of self. No, so I would. Hey, yo. Rare. Yeah, so I did my own homework.
Starting point is 00:26:58 I did some research and my research was more so looking at the prices, looking at the prices, you know, and it's kind of it's kind of hefty, it's kind of hefty. So I'm thinking instead of me, instead of me getting going to a therapist, I mean, I could I could slide to one hundred dollars. Oh, you know, if you know, you talk to me. Yeah, yeah. You know, you could be the mediator, you know, I already know you $5,200. So I can pay you $5,200 and you can use that.
Starting point is 00:27:29 That can go to the fee. So that'll be your therapy paper. Bingo right there. This man tried to hire a therapist with money he already owes somebody. Oh Joe Ed Reed is headed to high school. He was announced as the new ed OC at Chamblee High School. Right down the road from the crib. Chamblee. You know, oh, Joe, it was a.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Is he all in my all in my arms? Whoa, whoa. You got a little too comfortable, but okay, come on. Uh, you see, Air Reed, uh, is the, uh, new OC at Chamblee, Chamblee High School in, uh, in, in, in Georgia. Okay. Okay. It's a little suburb of, uh, you remember one time Ocho, he was in the running to be the head coach at Bethune. At Bethune Cookman.
Starting point is 00:28:23 And then when he, when he got to the establishment, you know, it wasn't it wasn't. Fit to his liking. And normally you have, though, you have a talk with with the powers that be at the institution, you know, but he, you know, he took it the wrong way and kind of put it put it on the airways. And they didn't they didn't like that. You know, I'm happy for Ed. I'm happy for Ed and it's a great opportunity
Starting point is 00:28:50 for that school and they got a good one. Boy, they got him a good one. They do. I wish you could have got that job or which things could have worked out better for him at the Cougman. Yeah. Yeah, that would have been nice. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:05 Yeah. It'd been really nice. Uh, you see Eddie George at Tennessee state, uh, coach prime was at, uh, at Jackson now he's at CU D Jack, the Sean Jackson is at, uh, Delaware state. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, Mike, Mike Vic is at a Norfolk. So, uh, I'm a...
Starting point is 00:29:28 Well, shoot, since all these players getting coaching jobs, what you wanna put your hand in? I don't. You just told me they don't make enough money. I mean, shoot, I mean, the kind of money, I mean, not like we, nevermind. No, I'm good. You probably could do it, but I don't have the patience, I know me.
Starting point is 00:29:44 Man, listen, you mess around and put me in an atmosphere like that where my body is still willing and able. I'm still in shape. I'm gonna be in the way because I'm gonna be out there suited up and holding that whole uniform, cleats and all. No, I don't.
Starting point is 00:29:59 I want no part of coaching. I'm smart enough. Yeah, Heinz Ward is at Arizona State. I think Heinz Ward is gonna be a coach, go be a head coach soon. You're a receiver coach, I think. Yeah. Okay. I mean, there are a lot of guys.
Starting point is 00:30:13 Hold on. Antoine Randall is in Detroit. I think Keenan McCartles is in Minnesota. Yeah, yeah. But I just, no, I'm not. That helps. I want no part of coaching. I know that's a fool. I ain't going to hold nobody on that.
Starting point is 00:30:31 Oh, Joe, the reports, there are multiple instances in which Jimmy Butler skipped morning shoot around and insisted on taking private flights separate from the team. This is what ultimately led to a seven game team suspension. Oh, man, I wish I met. Man. I look private PJs aren't cheap. Right. And I know I I might be mad. Hey, I know I ain't spending my money. I'm not spending my money. I'm flying on that team playing. I might not like playing Riley. I might not like that situation
Starting point is 00:31:07 but I'm not coming out of my pocket. No 100 plus thousand dollars. Yeah. Today from Miami. You at the bottom. Ain't no cheap play unless you go in Orlando. Right. Right. But you know the A, they be playing in Portland. They be all over. Oh
Starting point is 00:31:21 dude. Yeah. Listen, you you uncle, you got to remember now, you got to understand and remember the kind of money they making. They making a different kind of money, boy. Yeah. A different kind of money. I'm talking about the kind of money they make is ocky. I call it ocky.
Starting point is 00:31:36 Oh, but here's the thing though, Ocho. You do that. I mean, yeah. I mean, but you spend, I mean, how long was he going to do it? Maybe until things were resolved internally. I will be on that plane. I'm a little bit aged and then resolve it.
Starting point is 00:31:58 I believe my agent and resolve that I resolved it by coming out my pocket. Right. Oh, no. Right. I cannot do it. Now maybe he got a hookup or something. Oh Joe that he gets one of the discounts. Hey, maybe he has his own. But I think the smart thing to do is to get hours in one. You know what I'm saying? Have a timeshare says I'm going to get, you know, spend a hundred hours. Yeah. A hundred hours probably cost you two, two mil. What? And it's so funny. It's so funny. I'm acting excited about two mil. And I'm thinking about it like I, you know, I hear all the stories, you know, our circle is all the same, you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:37 And I'm thinking about there's a certain person. I ain't saying her name because I'm not one that, you know, drop her name. But when you gamble, you know, tip to me, it ain't nothing for me to lose or win. And I'm not talking about. I mean, I didn't talk about Jordan, I'm talking about, you know, you know, heavy gambling, you know, I used to gamble like that. But you know what? I. When you you can gamble like that, if you can look at those chips and don't see them as money.
Starting point is 00:33:06 They're just objects. And I can no longer do that. I started looking at it, I started thinking like, hell, that's a, that's a year of my mortgage payments right there. I just got there on the table right there. That's a year of mortgage payments right there. Damn, that's my son's tuition. That's my son tuition for a year right there. Damn, that's different. My son's tuition.
Starting point is 00:33:26 That's my son tuition for a year. Right there. That's my daughter's tuition right there. I like I'm done. Because I can no longer. Well, when I was when I used to be able to like, oh, five thousand, ten thousand. I ain't nothing. I didn't. I didn't. I didn't think about it, Ocho. But once I started looking at it and it started like, oh no.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Yeah. And you know what? You look at it at a different lens when you're done playing. So you understand the value of a dollar when you're done playing. You don't have that money coming in like that. Like, you know, when it's coming in fast, we do it every week.
Starting point is 00:34:04 Oh, it's different. It's different. You know, when it's coming in fast, week to week, every week, oh, it's different, it's different. You know, everybody- It's hard to get off money now, Ocho. Oh yeah. Like I had, like, I got a Range Rover, Ocho. It's 2012. Right. It was a 2013, but I got it in October 2012,
Starting point is 00:34:17 cause you know, the year, the 13 model came out in October. I got it the year before, yeah. Ocho, I got 37,000 miles on the car. Well, you wanna get it up off your hands? No. And my, my, my pageant line with Shannon, you know, hey, you hadn't bought anything and you hadn't bought, well, actually, I just bought my mama a car.
Starting point is 00:34:36 Let me get the earphone. It's on your seat, Joe. I just bought my mama a car today. Right. Wait, what you got, what you got, what you got? A E350. Right. Right. What you got? What you got? What you got? A E350. Boy, you got money, boy. A E350.
Starting point is 00:34:51 Yeah, I got a, uh, I got it. She got a little E350. Damn! Well, you don't be playing, boy. Nah, nah, nah. The whole thing is, uh. Tell, tell, tell, tell mama sharp I say congratulations. Yeah, she tell mama sharp, I say congratulations. Yeah, she probably been driving all around to my, thanks baby for my car, I had to stop at Walgreens to get my medicine. I said, you could have had that medicine
Starting point is 00:35:17 sent to your house, mama, you trying to show that car? You think you slick, mama. My mama show off for sure, for 1000% for certain. Let her cut it up again. Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But you know, I bought her a car many years ago. She had that car. She didn't wanna tell me that's my baby.
Starting point is 00:35:33 I had this car, this is my gift. I said, mama, if I buy you another car, it's a gift too. I'm confused. But it's just, I just had it for so long. Yeah, she traded it in, guess how much they gave before though Joe? How much? $500.
Starting point is 00:35:47 I paid $250 to have it towed up there. So in other words, in other words, she got $250 for that damn car. So that just told, that showed you the type of condition the car was in. Right. Oh man. Oh, but nah, she happy, she happy she got her car.
Starting point is 00:36:03 She can profile her to her to her and her girlfriend. They go to, they go to the casino, she go to church. So hey. You play, she go, she play bingo too? She, just the slots. Oh slots, okay. Just the slots, yeah. Yeah, she don't play no bingo, but nah, she, she, yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:21 She happy with that. Hey, I told her I was gonna get her something and I got her that. So, I told her I will get a son. I got to that. So got my brother something last March. My sister said she goes, she don't want to say she like a little car. I got I got I got one. I got one coming on the way, man. And I bought my sister Kiel. Yeah. Man, she loved that car.
Starting point is 00:36:42 You got lucky. Mine, my daughter getting ready to graduate. I made a deal. She said, baby, she say, Daddy, if I graduate early, can you give me a car? See, I can get you a car. OK, that ain't nothing. Then she told me what kind of car she wanted.
Starting point is 00:37:00 And now I got it. Now I got I got a key in my word. And she said, she won't you want to do wagon. Oh no oh no oh no. I say she a she say she wanted you wagon. I say baby like you have all these different type of calls that that you can you can choose from. Are you sure you want to do it. different type of cars that you can choose from. Are you sure you want a G-Wagon? No sir. Then yes, he said yes. I say, well, hold on.
Starting point is 00:37:28 How you gonna pay your insurance? How you gonna get gas? He said yes. Once I graduate, I'm gonna have a job. I say, well, I tell you what, when you graduate and you get your job and you have some consistent revenue and income flowing in, I'm gonna get you your G-Wagon.
Starting point is 00:37:44 I'm gonna stick to my word, I'm gonna get a G-Wagon. I'm gonna get, I'm gonna stick to my word. I'm gonna get a G-Wagon. I can't get all that kind of money. Listen, that's gonna be a ripple effect now. Cause if I get that G-Wagon, what you think else gonna happen from the rest of these? Of course. You know? Nope.
Starting point is 00:37:59 But it's all good. Listen, I got 50 left jobs. I can't complain about Nate Daniel. I can't complain. Hey, I got 50 left jobs. I can't complain about Nathaniel. I can't complain. Hey, we gotta be reasonable. Yeah. Cause the maintenance and the upkeep on it, they pop the A. Hey. No.
Starting point is 00:38:17 All right, listen, I should have thought about that, about what, 21, 22 years ago, you know? No, you should have put a limit on it. Say, hey, this is what I'm spending for a car. Right. But they don't ask for nothing. That's why, you know, I told you how mine are. They don't ask for nothing.
Starting point is 00:38:34 Holidays, birthday, that's it. No, I can't get it. I can't get it. Your first car? No. This ain't our first. Oh, no. This will be our second. So, you know, I'm gonna take her from,
Starting point is 00:38:47 you know, a little starter car and let her graduate a little bit. Let her have a little fun. Let her live a little bit. Let her live. Let her live a little bit. No, no, no, you gotta make them hungry. Okay. Oh, she hungry. She hungry. She hungry. That's why she graduated early. G wagon. Hey, what they thatagging. Hey, but that ain't, that's what, hey, that's what I, I just, no, I ain't finna, I ain't finna, I ain't finna, I ain't finna, I ain't finna start that. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And plus, I already got the kids a car.
Starting point is 00:39:17 I got everybody a car. They left debt free. Yeah. Oh, Joe, now it's time for our last segment of the evening. It's time for Q and A. Abraham Sawa, Uncle Ocho really put the cap in nightcap. Jenny Averill, I knew Ocho was trollin' and the chat is shaded. Quick to turn. Congrats, Aunty Rail.
Starting point is 00:39:44 Of course. But I'll text Ocho, I'll say, see? I'll say, now a lot of those people, oh, I love Unc and Ocho, but quick, they were quick to try to drive that wedge in between Unc and Ocho. You see that? But see, sometimes you need to see it for yourself.
Starting point is 00:40:03 Because, and that's why I tell people, everybody that jump into my, oh, I'm happy, I'm excited. They not, they really not. And sometimes you have to see it for yourself. And I'm glad we got an opportunity to see, damn, do we got people that's very excited for us, that cheer us on and sincerely and genuinely happy? Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:40:23 But there's a lot that pretend they're happy and excited and all the while, well, I sure hope they break up. I sure hope they break up because we got something going. They know, because here's the thing, Ocho, a lot of people that do what we do, they know what they do. Yeah. And they see what we do and they know what we do. So they know.
Starting point is 00:40:44 Yeah. Yeah. They they see what we do and they know what we do. so they know. Yeah. Yeah. They know most definitely. Listen, I mean a lot of people you know my my my supporters my followers. Uh they they were they were they were saying some some mean things you know so they apologize to y'all for for trolling today, but but sometimes you need to see oh Joe you gotta see who really in your corner. It's like when you tell somebody, no, and they say, okay, I understand, bro. You don't mean so good to me so many times.
Starting point is 00:41:10 Oh Joe, I ain't got no problem with you saying no, but it's when they say no. And like, well, damn, bro, you got that money like that. You can't break your ball off again. Yeah. Then you know. Yeah. Mm hmm. But listen, I'm again, I'm happy for her
Starting point is 00:41:28 and all that she has going on, obviously, you know, with her real real estate company, you know, Netflix stuff she had going on with Netflix, you know, show coming out. Yes. Very 22nd. Then obviously the podcast up under our umbrella. And this is this is what it's all about. You know, you know, having someone on your side that you can continue to help elevate and whatever it is they have going on. It's a beautiful feeling, even though, you know, now what is not a joke is that things aren't where they should be between us. I'm
Starting point is 00:41:58 not going to be honest with you and in chat, I could be honest with y'all too. Yeah, continue to work. Yeah, yeah, it's rocky. It's rocky. So the fact that I can compartmentalize and separate the business side of things and work on the pleasure side later on down the line, whatever, I'm excited to be the moderator and then be our therapist. But other than that. Yeah. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:42:30 What we got? James Colby. Whoa. Y'all ninjas got me. Boy, I was hot during the humble baddie signing. First, fifth all balled up. Good luck to all involved. He done pulled an R-thode or something, Ocho. He done pulled the art photos, Ocho.
Starting point is 00:42:46 Look, man. We excited. Yeah. Because here's the thing, Ocho. They like, man, you don't put no black people on. Okay, we put black people on. Man, you should have, well, damn. Everything ain't gonna always be perfect. It's not gonna always be perfect
Starting point is 00:43:04 in order to put your people on. Right. We're trying to give people an opportunity. I've been very, very fortunate to be in a situation where the volume gave me an opportunity and we've been able to build this thing from the ground floor and be able to help people. We're able to do that with 520.
Starting point is 00:43:21 We've been able to do that with Bubble Dub. Now we have humble baddies. I go now to get three more. We're going to wait. We go now. We scowl. We look at and we're going to try to bring three more up under the umbrella. Provide an infrastructure. Be able to produce this. This is your vision. What do you want? But we have we believe we have the people in place.
Starting point is 00:43:39 We have the distribution to help this thing grow to what you believe it can be. Right. I thought, oh, well, so much. Hey, did you put any thought into that wilderness show? Me and you in the country, hunting, catching. Oh Joe, you ain't never shot a gun in your life. That's the whole point of having the show You teaching me how to hunt how to how to how to catch squirrels and bears and deer and skin them and eat them so if we don't catch if we don't catch no food if we don't catch no fish like we starved oh i'm not gonna starve because i know how to fish i know how to hunt so like it's like a
Starting point is 00:44:23 wilderness show punk and ocho in the wilderness, like Survivor. Ocho, but here's the thing. When are we gonna have time to shoot a show? Man, we gotta find time, man. We gotta find time. Ocho, you like having 50-level jobs. I'm trying to scale back. Nah, I ain't trying to scale back. I ain't trying to scale back, because I'm subscribing. I'm trying to scale back. No, I ain't trying to scale back.
Starting point is 00:44:45 I ain't trying to scale back. Cause I'm, I'm trying to scale back. No. I mean, I'm about to have to hit the road. We about to have to go work. We just activated Florida, Illinois, Baltimore, Virginia. I'm about to have to hit the road for, for the portier. Okay. Okay. Okay.

We're talking about the MVP race. Is Josh Allen gonna pull it out? Lamar Jackson? Can Saquon Barkley even break the rushing record? Can the Steelers keep up their momentum? We talk about everything.
Starting point is 00:47:54 We break it down. Stats, analytics, and of course Chris Rose is bringing his perspective on being a pro in the media world as well. Listen to football today on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts, and you will be glad you did. Hope you could join us for the postseason run.
Starting point is 00:48:16 Hey, it's Bobby Bones. So where else are you going to find a show with that much athleticism and football insight? Based in Nashville, we're more than just your basic NFL show.
Starting point is 00:48:41 We talk sports, but we talk pop culture and music and a little bit of everything, because we got lots to say. I texted you and you texted me back. Now, I don't know if you have the update, but like all the little thumbs up and heart and stuff, like it's all colored. They changed it. And the heart's a little pink.
Starting point is 00:48:57 It felt like I told you I loved you. I'm gonna be honest, it was a little pink. There was something sentimental when you sent it. You're just like, do I send the heart now? I don't like the color edition. It's extremely pink. Let's have lots to say with Bobby Bones and Matt Castle on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcast,
Starting point is 00:49:13 or wherever you get your podcasts. No fake 97. I don't know why I looked up and thought Ocho was Vanessa Williams and soul food. Junior, Uncle Ocho loved the show and the work you put in it. Keep keep it going, Kings. Now back to football. Are you worried about the Chiefs not playing ball for so long? No, I'm not. If it was a listen, if you look at the college teams that all had a biweek, you saw what happened to them. That is not the same when it comes to NFL teams. Players
Starting point is 00:49:51 need that rest. If you really want the first piece so you can get that biweek so players that are nicked up, they can heal up and be a little bit more healthy come time to the not division around. What round is that? It come time to the not division around. We're around is that. It's a division. Oh, the division around this week. We just wrapped up wildcard. This was the final wildcard. Now with the division around, you get that one seed and you get that that week off.
Starting point is 00:50:16 Man, players love it. Yes. Love it. Yes. Yep. it's. But and plus, they've been here. Oh, this is what they normally do. They normally have the one seed. So it is not like it's not something they're not used to. That last year was different. They were the three seed ended up having to take their show on the road.
Starting point is 00:50:41 But one thing we learned about the Kansas City Chiefs, it doesn't matter. They got one five. And as long as you got one five and you got big red and they call them plays, they good. You got a chance. They good. Dab Smith said when the Vikings needed Darnal the most, he vanished 14 to three point of season if you're going to Cancun a week after everyone else yeah he just he didn't have you know look he didn't have a whole lot of time but sometimes you just look and i mean uh sam darlin's what sam darlin is he's a guy he he's not gonna make a whole lot of plays outside the play sheet what you call he can operate he's not like lamar he's not like uh uh uh he's not like josh allen he's not a guy that's going to be able to get off
Starting point is 00:51:28 script and if you know something breaks down, he's going to be able to make it work. That's not who he is. Oh Joe. You got to understand that. Just understand who he is. He had a phenomenal season. But the question is, do you believe he could replicate that? If you do, do you believe this was an anomaly or this is the new norm? I think it's a new norm. Yeah, I think it's a new norm because of what he has around him. I always say a quarterback is as good as his supporting cast unless you are special tier
Starting point is 00:52:00 one quarterback that can elevate the players around you, regardless of who's on your team. As long as you got Addison and Hockerson and Justin Jefferson and Aaron Jones, you will be just fine. What we got here, Justin Rodden. Vikings need to let Sam walk like they did Kenan. For Mike Evans, he'll be all pro every year. He's must see TV NFL needs to add more spots to the roster. Well, I mean, they've added a slot.
Starting point is 00:52:34 They take a fullback now. It used to be two running backs and the fullback never got added. They have a slot DB. So I mean, I don't, they got to what they got edge. They got edge rushers. It used to be just D and, uh, it's always, it's always, it was two middle linebackers, three outside linebackers, two D and three D and the three D taffers. I think that's how it used to be Ocho.
Starting point is 00:53:08 With three safeties and three corners. Cause they used, I think that's how it was. But you know, they did away, even the Pro Bowl, they used to take three running backs. Like, okay, if you take three running backs, who blocking? So you want Barry to block for Emmy or you want Emmy to block for Barry? You ain't about to get no rush yards.
Starting point is 00:53:31 Right. Just saying, I'm just letting you know, you just know you're gonna throw it. And it used to be all the left tackles. Now, you know, you got a right tackle that can be an all pro because it used to be all left tackles that were all pros and left some right tackle
Starting point is 00:53:44 had some phenomenal season. Right. But for the it used to be all left tackles that were all pros and left some right tackle had some phenomenal season. Right. But for the most part, it was left tackles. But now they take that. But, Wok Dog 44, Terrell Prime to hire y'all if he goes to the Cowboys. Hopefully he won't take the job.
Starting point is 00:53:59 He ain't gonna hire me. He already know. I talked to him too, but he know me. I want no part of coaching. Yes. Oh nobody's down. Don't hire me. Let me come play for uh veteran minimum. Uh Samuel Griffith. Hey, Nightcap just received some of the new nightcap gear for my birthday. If you're a Bengals gym, would you trade your marches for Travis Hunter? Hell no.
Starting point is 00:54:29 You need a guy that's gonna produce the points. And you're not, ain't nobody gonna trade you, ain't nobody gonna trade. But first of all, why would you do that? You weak in your office if you do that. Like Ocho said, you know, you can't do that. You weak in your office if you do that. Like uh like Ocho said, you may you know, try to make a deal to try to go get Jair. I mean, he's going to cause you. But no, I'm not trading. I'm not trading Chase for Hunter.
Starting point is 00:55:02 Um uh Mario Rubio Shannon. Uh where would you rank in terms of tight end? Ojo, where would you land as all time receiver? I'm top five. That's my final last, so I'm going with that. I'm Tom, I'm 85th. I, I don't know. I'll let y'all rank. All I know is I got everything I could out of my ability. I played as hard. I'll let y'all rank. All I know is I got everything I could out of my ability.
Starting point is 00:55:27 I played as hard as I can every time I could. Every time I stepped on the field, I tried to represent the Sharp family, my grandma, my family, my brother, my sisters. I tried to represent the Broncos or the Ravens. I tried to represent the fan base that I was representing. I got all I could. I squeezed this orange and got every drop. Yeah. And then when I couldn't have
Starting point is 00:55:48 no more juice, I ate the orange and then I used the orange peel for zest. I had nothing left. So wherever the fan base want to rank me or whoever is ranking it have at it. But I love my career. Yeah. Seven round draft pick out a seventh round pick career. Yeah. It's your head. Seventh round draft pick. Uh uh seventh round pick uh uh from an HBCU. Pro football Hall of Fame. My um numbers up in the stadium with that crest beside it. I think I did okay. So, whatever whatever whatever they say I am, I say top five but if you want to
Starting point is 00:56:19 say I'm somewhere between top ten, I can deal with that too. Yeah. Man, I can deal with that too. Yeah. Man, I don't. Jeton justice chat. My dog's waggiest tail when he sees, must be the dog person or something. Yep. I love animals.
Starting point is 00:56:40 Animals love me. Yeah. Like I said, I'm gonna give me a farm, but I really want me a mini cow, a mini goat, a mini horse and a raccoon. Wait, if you gonna have a farm, you gonna need more than four animals. I ain't gonna have that kind of farm.
Starting point is 00:56:56 Well, you just said a farm. It's only one kind of farm. No, no, no, no. That's a farm. You talking about a ranch. Oh, you want a mini farm to go with your mini animals? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Give me like two, give me like an acre or two. Okay, okay. I like that. I like that. They got friends. So the cow be a friend to the goat, the goat be a friend to the horse.
Starting point is 00:57:20 Then I got to keep Titus because Titus is going to be chasing him. No, Teddy is chasing Titus. We like whatever. Right. Dr. Frankie Bellamy, what it do? Oh, do you think you love animals so much because they show you unconditional love? I'm sure it's challenging trying to find someone who loves you as deeply and unconditionally as you want them to. I just I mean, growing up around animals, I've always I've always I've always had this love with animals. I've always said that if I ever came in this is the money I'm gonna have I'm gonna have pets. I've had dogs since 1992. Yeah. And then when I got in the apartment they wouldn't let me have the dog because I had two
Starting point is 00:58:01 Rottweilers. I let my sister take them. And then at that point in time, I started renting a house. And so I've had dogs. We grew up with dogs. My grandmother, we had dogs. Now we didn't treat the dogs like I treat my dogs now. And you know, people don't get mad, but they was tied up under shit. They wasn't walking around.
Starting point is 00:58:21 My grandfather and my uncle had hunting dogs that we had in pen. You know, my uncle, them had hunting dogs that we had in pen. You know, we had they had black and tan. They had red bones, had blue ticks, Trey at Walker, things like that. You know, bloodhounds, not a bloodhound. Mr. Grant Hunt had a bloodhound, but they had hunting dogs. My uncles, they were big hunters.
Starting point is 00:58:40 My grandfather used to have dogs, but we had, I think he only had one by the time I was around named Joe boy But I've always I love pets Yes, no matter. I mean I yell at Titus and he get upset He'll go get his pen and I say I'm sorry, bro. I ain't mean to yell at him. He come out. He just as happy Teddy don't care you yell at Teddy Teddy like Go go with pajamas on he he ain't pay you no attention. Right.
Starting point is 00:59:10 You know what it is, dog? I have devoted the kind of time to the relationship like I have other things. That's my problem. That's it in a nutshell. I like that. That's it. That's it. But they try to, Doc tried to make me get emotional.
Starting point is 00:59:52 Elijah Moses, hey Uncle Nojo, second day, second day, my 24th, two days is my 24th birthday. Can I get a shout out some advice for being in sports media? If the Eagles don't win the Super Bowl, does Saquon not getting the record? More of a disappointment. Well, happy early birthday. Hopefully you do something fun. You got something mapped out. Bro, when you get into this space, just understand what you're going to have to sacrifice. You see sports are played on the weekends. They also play during the holidays. Are you going to be okay being away from your family? Is that okay? Sometimes people forget that. Like I want to do this, the X, Y,
Starting point is 01:00:28 and Z. But do you understand what comes along with X, Y, and Z? Yeah. They're going to have to be sacrifices that you're going to have to make. And if you're not willing to make that sacrifice, you don't deserve to be successful. So that's, that's what I tell people that want to get into the media space is that you do understand that sports happen on the weekend holidays Thanksgiving Christmas New Year are you willing to give that up are you willing to sacrifice that then do your partner understand that that's what you're gonna have to sacrifice? So, yeah, it's gonna be more disappointing if they don't win the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 01:01:11 Hell, it's gonna be disappointing if he didn't win the Super Bowl because I believe you could have had both. Yeah. See, they're not mutually exclusive. That don't mean because if he got the record, he wouldn't win the Super Bowl. And if he won the Super Bowl, they could have got the record.
Starting point is 01:01:22 Why couldn't he get both? He could have. Yes. Yes. Tremendous said, hey, Uncle Nocho, tomorrow's also my birthday. Can I get a shout out? Also, do you believe certain quarterbacks like Lamar only get judged by what they do in the playoffs?
Starting point is 01:01:40 Tremendous, happy birthday, man. Early birthday. If you're on the East Coast, it's your birthday now. No, all quarterbacks, that's Lamar caliber, get judged by what they do in the playoffs because that's the ultimate test is the playoffs. That's the highest test that you could take, Ochoa. It's like you're a fourth year law student
Starting point is 01:02:01 and you gotta take the highest test. You know, you gotta pass the bar. The playoffs is the bar and you keep taking it and taking it until you pass it. Yeah. So no, Lamar go get judged just like just like seven L way got judged. All the quarterbacks get judged, especially bro. You realize Lamar is, I believe he's gonna be a three-time league MVP. Crazy work. Three! Yes yes.
