What happens when a professional football player's career ends
and the applause fades and the screaming fans move on?
I am going to share my journey of how I went from Christianity
to now a Hebrew Israelite.
For some former NFL players, a new faith provides answers.
You mix homesteading with guns and church.
Voila! You got straightway.
He tried to save everybody.

your father is your OG of girl dads.
We see this a lot now.
Everybody's talking about girl dad.
Oh, he's really a girl dad.
Hashtag girl dad.
Talk to us a little bit about your father.
Because I think what was portrayed of him, he was very protective of you.
He didn't let anybody speak sideways to you or about you.
And if he heard anybody, even the commentators, even the interviewers,
because Venus, I remember he checked someone that was trying to question your confidence
at a tournament. So I remember that very, very big. Yeah, I think that it went viral for the
last couple of years. So interesting. But I think people love that because it's good to see kids
being protected by their, their dad. So it's definitely a dad and daughter moment.
And yeah, yeah, it's super special.
Yeah, and it's good to see, especially black kids
be protected by their fathers,
because that's not a story that we often see.
And it's a story that's not told enough.
And it happens, as you know, it happens a lot.
But that aspect of a black man and a black father is never told.
And so everything that he's done for our family and, you know, just is such a good story overall of just telling it as a black man.
And I really appreciate how it was told.

That's Patrick Claiborne, Steve Weiss, Nick Shook, Jordan Rodrigue from The Athletic,
and of course, Colleen Wolfe.
This is their window right now.
This is their Super Bowl window.
Why would they trade him away?
Because he would be a pivotal part of them winning that Super Bowl.
I don't know why, Colleen.

And who doesn't want that?
Listen now on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Did you guys ever think your father was too hard on you?
Was this too much?
Were you practicing too long?
I mean, this is ridiculous.
No, I don't think those words came out of our mouth.
We loved what we do, you know?
And we, it was, he made it fun.
And, you know, obviously there are days you don't want to go to practice.
There's still days I don't want to show up to practice.
But you just do it because it's like what you have to do because you know what you if you if you want
to reach a goal then you have to work to reach the goal you just can't sit at home so but my dad was
always um just so innovative and so amazing to work with and also still to this day his brain like moves at a way faster pace than anyone i
ever met and um but he's also the most loving dad and um the most caring dad and yeah he it's it's
really it's we we just feel really special i think we're just happy to have a relationship with our
family that we do have and we don't sit back and think
about tennis too often it's what we do but when we put the racket down we put the racket down and
we're just fortunate to have that beautiful support and just a regular family when we put
the racket right you know it's really good that's what we like about this the film it also captures
this family aspect of the movie and we we're all so close, you know?
It's just like everything we do, we want to do it as a family.
We want to always have just time together.
And, you know, it's so amazing that everything
that Venus and I have been through,
every championship we've won, everything we've done,
it never changed our bond as sisters
and our bond as a family unit.
And, you know, we are really appreciative of everything
because all our sisters were there for every part of the way as well.
And, yeah, so it's really good to see that we stick to our roots no matter what.
When did you realize that we're special and we're going to do really great things?
Well, early on, our parents told us that's what we would do.
And obviously we put a lot of work in behind it, but when you're a kid
and your parents are feeding you this information, who knows?
So thankfully we had all that positive feedback going straight in.
Did you play any other sports besides tennis growing up? We ran track for a little while.
Yeah, that's
not in the film, but we were encouraged to know who we were off of the court. So that was more
of a personal journey of do pursue things that you love, but tennis was always at the forefront. We'll be right back. Wake up with football every morning and listen to my new podcast, NFL Daily with Greg Rosenthal.
