Starting point is 00:00:00 I hate gift-giving and receiving receiving gifts is so weird. What do you say? Thank you This is coffee convos with kale Lowry and Lindsay Chrisley. I really want you to be in your feels kale That does not interest me whatsoever I feel very attacked by you a spirited discussion about motherhood friendship family and life in the public eye I'm just not with the fakery anymore. There's a fakery bakery around here. Here's kale and Lindsay Hello coffee coffee coffee. I'm messing up already. It's Monday kale Do you even know where you're at what you're doing? No, no, absolutely. I want a coffee convo's podcast. Thank you so much I was trying to say coffee combos and I said coffee coffee
Starting point is 00:00:41 I didn't have coffee this morning. So that would probably explain Everything do you know that Jackson thought that coffee combos was coffee combos for years? I love him. He's an angel He's like I want to go on coffee combos Yeah, well anytime I put like the subtitles on like my Instagram stories or my tiktoks. It always says coffee combos We don't know why we need to learn to speak. Okay. Yeah, we just need to like annunciate We should speak better. Um, I did just want to say before we get started on this episode that we are Going to try to keep this episode light-hearted
Starting point is 00:01:23 I Just don't feel that We are in a place to where we should be discussing politics on this platform. We Really haven't and so I think keeping this is a place to where we can come and Talk and bullshit About light-hearted things and the bullshit that's going on in our personal lives is where we need to keep it And I just wanted to say that before we get started. So do you want to like talk about a murder?
Starting point is 00:01:57 Yes, so everyone I just want to let you guys know that for we said we're gonna keep this light-hearted But here's the murder that I'm covering next week or next month. I Will be covering the Los Feliz murder house and I heard this Probably a year ago on another podcast and so I kind of wanted to do my own deep dive into it It was very fascinating to me And so and I've also just like tried to keep up with the actual house itself And it's just a eerie and creepy story that I want to cover. So that'll be the true crime for July
Starting point is 00:02:36 Okay. Well, I love that I have actually just done a little bit of research so far and plan to like really work on that in The next couple of days and so I'm interested to find out what's going on I always get interested in these cases that you pick that I literally know nothing about I feel like I pick the ones that people don't know about or that you don't know about and And you pick ones that I should know about and I don't know about I Should be more Aware of my surroundings. I really should. I really really should can I actually tell you about that a little bit?
Starting point is 00:03:16 Um, I am the most clueless human being that I think has ever walked the face of this planet. I Am so in my own world and it's not even intentional. I don't think like I'll be going into the grocery store not paying attention to my surroundings or whatever and one of these days I feel like I'm going to be a person that ends up on The news where I've gotten like mugged because I haven't paid attention to what's going on around me. I Am sort of like that as well I mean I current events have to be like I never see them firsthand People always have to tell me and then I'm shocked and it's like two weeks old
Starting point is 00:03:57 But when it comes to like I recently saw this video of this woman putting her children in a car in the car Yeah, and it was basically like About how like scary it is and I'm like when you turn your back to The world and you're putting your kids in the vehicle. I will literally if someone tries to approach my car will literally start screaming I don't even care if they like don't mean to do anything But like do not come near me or approach me from behind while I'm putting my children in my car So like when it comes to things like that I'm aware, but everything else like don't ask me for current events
Starting point is 00:04:33 Don't ask me what's going on. I don't know what's going on. I literally live under a rock So We're gonna work on that. Yeah, I will say that we do not watch the news in my house And I would love to know how many other families Live like that as well. This has been going on for some time now. I hate having the news on I think it's morbid and It really like changes the mood and the vibe in my house and I'm big on energy and I'm like, uh, I don't really like want that in my house Mm-hmm. And so if I'm finding out anything
Starting point is 00:05:08 It's like highlights that I have seen that I have intentionally gone online to look for right so like News on there not trying to find out that like Billy Bob got murdered next door like in my local news Like I'm not trying to find out that information, but like maybe more like what's going on in the world like We're gonna be talking about the Brian Laundrie notebook like stuff like that I am intentionally seeking out to like find that stuff, but outside of that I'm not watching the news in my house and it literally creeps me out. Did I tell you about this about? after I had Jackson that I think I went through Postpartum anxiety and when I would watch the news
Starting point is 00:05:53 I would think that like something was gonna happen to my baby and so I just had to literally turn it off I did fleet Facebook Because I would be scrolling through my news feed and see like articles pop up and it would be like cancer centers of America or like children's health care of Atlanta and All kinds of stuff that would like make me think that something was happening to my baby. I Used to be addicted to the news like I used to leave it on all the time and then it just like I Don't know if it affected my mental health or what but I was like, okay I'm done here like I can't do this because it was making me say like I watched this documentary about
Starting point is 00:06:29 Tree man in Indonesia and I was pregnant with Isaac and I was like, oh my god, like my child's gonna come out with this Wait, what what is We're getting off topic. No, I know what three man is I'll send you a picture But I'll send it. Let me Google it right now You literally can't talk about it and then be like we're getting off topic when we're literally on this topic Okay, well, it was I want to say it was on like TLC or something It's kind of like you with the news like you felt like it was like an omen or something like something like that on that commercial It's gonna come for
Starting point is 00:07:10 Jackson or happen to Jackson. It was literally like that for me. Yeah, I'm sending this so Kristen can also post it So yeah, I'm you need to tell us all about what this is because there's other people who are listening who also don't know Who the fuck tree man is they probably all saw it on I think it was on TLC or The news or health oh time magazine new science It's basically oh it was on ABC news. Okay, so I knew I knew what I was talking about Tree man syndrome is it's like I want to say like warts kind of He looks like he's covered in bark, but he's not covered in bark it's According to CNN
Starting point is 00:07:57 He's been suffering from I'm can't even try to pronounce this EV also known as tree man syndrome a case was similar A similar case was profiled in an ABC news program in 2008 So I must have seen a rerun or something or I saw it on TLC. I don't know But it's it's associated with HPV and it's a gene mutation. Okay This is Incredibly rare genetic condition. So I'm thinking that like you might would have known about it if Isaac was gonna have this Yeah, probably yeah, you know, I mean I'm not trying to like Say that this is unrealistic because obviously this is like really
Starting point is 00:08:41 For real. I'm looking at this person's photos and Kristen can post them But it says that it is an abnormal susceptibility to HPV of the skin and it is Resulting uncontrolled HPV infections resulting in the growth of scaly Shit that looks like tree bark. Yeah on the hands and the feet. Yeah, bless his heart Yeah, I think there's like two or three people like this in the world. Yeah, wow Wow, well, I loved it That's what you were under the impression that was gonna happen to Isaac. Yeah
Starting point is 00:09:20 Well, I didn't know was a boy or girl either so that I was just like my baby Oh, this was when you were pregnant. Yeah. Oh my god, Kale, and then you thought I was gonna come out with tree bark hands This is not real Oh my god, okay, wait, I need I need an update on the cats. I Saw you getting a little crazy post-in Hot neighbor hot boyfriend Elijah, oh, he has his own acronym in the group now in the Facebook group. They call him HNBF hot neighbor boyfriend, and I'm like, yes, I fucking love this. Kale's been posting pictures on there you guys. Yeah
Starting point is 00:10:08 And he still hates the cats, but he doesn't bother with them Like he just doesn't like he helped me change the litter yesterday just because I actually had to change the litter box And I dropped it on the floor and then you Like try to clean it up and I broke the vacuum. So then he got his shot back out and he was like, just let me do it like wide He wanted he hated my guts. He fucking hated my guts. He's like, why would you use like the home vacuum for that? I just didn't think of the shop vacuum. Is it a shop back or a shop back shop vacuum used in like a shop I'm pretty sure but Did like turds go everywhere? Yeah
Starting point is 00:10:49 Had to sanitize. Yeah, it was just not good and I said this was worse than like bone situation and your mud room Yeah, absolutely. It was because I don't know if anyone on here listening on here has cats but like cat Waste just and I don't know if it's like a combination of the waste plus the litter Is so foul smelling and I have the litter boxes in a closet and then I Elijah cut a hole in the closet I'll post a picture um so that they can you can't smell it And um, they go in and out of the closet to go to the bathroom And so when I pulled it out and then I dropped it. I was like, this is so fucking foul
Starting point is 00:11:25 Like I this is so foul who came up with the idea to like Have this animal that needs to use A litter box and you can't just like let it outside. Let it take a dump and like come back in like who We need to find them. No, but I think I think some people do let their cats out to go to the bathroom They do. Yeah, like I think some people have like indoor outdoor cats and they literally Just go potty outside Do you not think it's super weird that like people have cats that like never go outside?
Starting point is 00:12:00 It's like did they not get bored in that house like bored in the house and I'm in the house board I don't think so. I think they're cats My indoor cats don't go outside and then my outdoor cats have never been inside Okay, this is just weird. I need more information on cats I feel like it's a whole another Like you could probably create a whole podcast on just like cat people alone Yeah, for sure. I'm like cat plant lady. That's me All right, you guys so you know that we all have favorite photos from like vacation family events birthdays or pets
Starting point is 00:12:37 I have pictures all around my office and I always get canvases done So I just love that and if you want to get one done like myself and give a really good meaningful gift You have to try first art gallery. They created us the coolest thing I was actually at home with suburban dad whenever it came and he was like What is this photo that you have ordered and I was like I just totally forgot about it It's really really cute I'm going to do these probably for Jackson's bedroom because I think that they are absolutely Precious and if you guys have never heard of first art gallery
Starting point is 00:13:11 They do professional hand-painted portraits created from any photo And it's truly affordable prices You can combine photos of people or places that you love into one painting Which I think is also a cool concept and they have a team of world-class artists And they will work with you until every detail is perfect Their user-friendly platform makes it easy to order a custom-made hand-painted portrait in less than five minutes So very quick very easy And you also get the final painting ship to you very quickly as well

Did you love your skill? I absolutely loved mine and it was such a surprise because it does take about two weeks So when I had gotten it, I was so I just loved it so much. It was so cute. I put it right in my dining room I also forgot to say that they also do

Starting point is 00:14:58 Here's the number again text the word coffee to 69 000 for a $35 discount code today I'm lindsay chrisley join me for the southern tea It's a weekly heart to heart from this southern girl and boy mom who's just trying to navigate life Nothing is off limits. I just need to tell you
Starting point is 00:15:42 That I've been like on the struggle bus at my house like really really bad And it made me Really think about the bus that I had boarded when you talked about how natalie had like come and helped you like Get everything cleaned up at your house and stuff. Mm-hmm. And then I took a like just little glance over around this place and I was like Holy shit like it literally looks like a bomb went off and I know other people can relate to this where it's like you let like one thing slide Oh, yeah, and then the whole and everything else it just becomes a shit show
Starting point is 00:16:17 It becomes a slippery slope that like you cannot get control of Mm-hmm, and it's like I need a trash out company to come and Get all this shit out because I don't know where it came from And I would like to blame it on the fact that like I have been so busy That I just kind of leave stuff around and then haven't been picking up every day Um, but I have definitely had time to be able to do that. It's just pure neglect and so um I just wonder what people do when that happens because for me
Starting point is 00:16:54 I just start purging everything Yeah, I'll just throw shit out. It's going in the trash. It's just easier, right? Yeah, it's way easier And I'm like, oh my god and then I look around and I'm like, okay. Where do you start right like when you get in that situation where your house becomes such a dumpster fire You're like at what place do I begin? to clean up this place Right like when when do I start and when do I just let it go and where?
Starting point is 00:17:27 and like so my pattern of Starting to clean was like, oh, I should clean the guest bathroom like that would be like a good starting point But it's like that doesn't even make any sense. It's like there's nothing going on in that guest bathroom And I don't have any guests. So like why would that be the first place that I start like maybe The laundry that is over piled in my living room would be like a great place to start But if you are anything like me Washing and folding laundry is not the problem. It's the putting away
Starting point is 00:18:00 That sucks ass. Nobody wants to put the clothes away if you're One of those people who puts laundry away immediately and or unpacks your suitcase immediately You are a psychopath. You're a immediate serial killer. Yes Like not gonna lie. I went to The beach with suburban dad and I'm pretty sure that my suitcase was in the garage at least two weeks and I would take Trips intentionally to the garage to fetch things out of my suitcase That I needed
Starting point is 00:18:35 But I refuse to put it away Like it's my mindset is like I'm going to use everything out of my suitcase until it's used and then it will take care of Cleaning it out. I isn't that so smart. Yeah, that's so smart. I want to know what other people do like if they come home immediately unpack their suitcase and Start their laundry and like really have it all together or if you're like me and you just get it out of the back of your car Open it up in your garage. Never bring it in your house
Starting point is 00:19:06 And go out there to get like sports bras and like weird shit out Because that's what I do like I will I will intentionally wear outfits that were in my suitcase Until they are all dirty and make it inside the house because they've been on my body And then I've taken care of two things. I've taken care of my outfit and then also It's made it to laundry Good bye Lindsay. I'm hanging out. I'm the smartest person you've ever known Hey, can we you know that tiktok trend? Um it's like
Starting point is 00:19:39 She's a tin or like he's yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah that one. Uh-huh. Okay, so I saw this Thing this morning when I was getting ready and I was like, okay I've got to ask you all these questions. Okay. Okay He's a tin But he's made you question your sanity on multiple occasions zero. You're a fucking zero But why you have to say why you I'm not quite like I have already done that So you might be the finest motherfucker. I've seen in a long time But the second you make me question my sanity the first time we're done
Starting point is 00:20:18 We are done Okay um I'm gonna say that Back in my olden days like last year um He'd still be a tin because the crazier the better. Um the crazier the situation the better Now
Starting point is 00:20:39 I'm with you. I'm like, okay. If you were causing me to question My actual existence like at that point. We're done. You're a zero to me and like never ring my hotline again Ever not your hotline that hotline bling in Okay He is a tin But his snap is in his bio five No, he's immediately a zero like okay, but if it was his cash app that would be a zero for me Okay, well, yeah, I mean
Starting point is 00:21:12 Obviously, why are you trying to get paid on? Facebook instagram twitter The amount of accounts that I see especially tick tock That have their cash up in their bio. I just don't understand because Maybe I don't know maybe I should put my cash up in the bio and see what happens But no way people are paying these random people But like why would you like because I've never scrolled by someone's like Instagram or tick tock and been like, yeah, let me cash up them 20 bucks
Starting point is 00:21:40 Like I've never I mean I've done that for go fund me's because there's like a story and like you're seeing why and You know, they pull at your heartstrings a little bit, but To see a cash up in your bio. I don't know No, we're alarmed by it the snap. It's just like hey, you went from a 10 to a 5 because you put your snap in your bio um Maybe take it out and you'll go back up to a 10, but like we're not doing that anymore We're in our 30s. We're not putting our snap in our bio. Okay immediately if I know that you have a snap You're a zero. I'm like that is the shadiest app that I feel like so much fuckery goes on in there
Starting point is 00:22:18 It's just alarming. Like I legitimately know people who Have conversations in snapchat or used to have conversations in snapchat just because it deleted like after it was open And so I'm like if you're having conversations like that that you need the security that it's immediate Immediately deleting then you shouldn't be having that conversation in the first place, right? I agree I Wholeheartedly agree with that or like you're saying stuff that you had no business saying in the first place Yeah, and it just makes me feel like you're a coward and like you have a small ween because I just it's just sketchy like I just like if we're in our 20s and 30s like what are we waiting for conversations to disappear for like it just feels weird
Starting point is 00:23:00 Okay, also Don't lie about this when I ask are you sending nudes in text or on snap? Yeah, well when I used to send nudes it would be in text because if I'm gonna send it. I'm gonna fucking send it And you are just living on a prayer that it doesn't get out Well, if I I know who my nudes go to so if it gets out, I know who did it You know what I mean? You know the leak. Oh a hundred percent Oh my god I'm so dead. Oh, you know what would be so funny is if you like bamboozled people sending like fake nudes
Starting point is 00:23:39 Oh my god and then like I would feel like him Kardashian because she like didn't she like tell like multiple people different scenarios and then Figured out who the leak was Yeah Amazing you're like, I love that idea. I love that for her Okay, so I need to know what everybody thinks about snapchat. Is it the sketchiest app ever? And do you also agree with us? Say yes
Starting point is 00:24:03 He's a 10 but follows girls that don't follow him back zero does that is a zero Zero like first of all Why do you need to be following those girls like if I am entertaining you? What business do you have to be following bitches that you don't even know? Yeah, no, I know no why why would that even be a thing? I feel like this is a big conversation actually like You go to a man's instagram And you see that he's following
Starting point is 00:24:34 All of these women he's comp you Because you know, we know how to spy and we know how to investigate we tap on These women's profiles and we look and see if they've liked this person's photos If they've commented in their comments Um all this stuff and then that's immediately i'm giving away all the secrets right now Um, that's immediately how you know if that person is like Possibly in communication with that person or if they're not, you know, right, right, right, right, right I just it's just weird like we're too old to be following like
Starting point is 00:25:09 I don't know like if it's a celebrity I get it because it's like cool We want to see like what they're doing what they're up to but if you're following girls that are like You know of in real life and they're not following you back. It's like that's a hard pass That's just weird. Okay. The last one He's a 10, but he takes fucking ages to reply Okay, that's a zero because he's not interested Yeah, like what are you doing that's so much more interesting than me? Um, actually I have a story about this. So I there was briefly someone that I was interested in at one time
Starting point is 00:25:42 and he He he pursued me like he asked me To hang out and things like that, but then he would take forever to reply come to find out He had a whole girlfriend and so then I was just like I didn't know that at the time even when I stopped talking to him like I got I got the hint very quickly It was like, oh, you want to hang out on your time, but you're taking forever to reply to me Um, and then I took that hint like I'm not dumb like if you take Two days to reply to me or two fucking hours three hours and you're just like not getting I do it too
Starting point is 00:26:15 Like I've done it too. Um, and then you try to come back like later on when they broke up and it's like no Like absolutely the fuck not I have a big opinion about this. So I don't like overlapping situations and I just think that that's shady um There are situations where it's like, okay, maybe somebody's in the ending phases of something and then They see somebody On social media or something and they're like, oh, well like that girl's cute. Like maybe I'll try to slide
Starting point is 00:26:47 but it also puts everybody in the situation at a disadvantage, right because it's like, okay You're doing wrong to if this is a man doing it hypothetically, maybe women do this too, but if You are doing this you're putting the girl that you were with at a disadvantage, right because you haven't Clear it all of that up and ended it and put it into the perspective where it needs to be You're putting yourself in jeopardy because now you Look shady and then you're gonna have to deal with the repercussions from both sides and the event that they find out And then you're going into a situation. Um, if this was me hypothetically, I would be going into this situation
Starting point is 00:27:32 open and honestly and maybe going on a date with this person and not Knowing that they were still entertaining another situation It's just shady like why why why do these situations happen? And have you been a person that's been in this situation or On the receiving end or on the giving end? Both Both? Yeah
Starting point is 00:27:56 So then tell me why like if you are on the giving end of this Why do you do it? Well, I wouldn't do it now Well, no, I know but I'm saying like what was the justification like then like what would your justification have been then? Um hurt people hurt people Kind of shit like that kind of yeah. Yeah. Okay. You know what I mean? Like I I don't think I realized that at the time but like that same type of um What is it called like that same type of like situation?
Starting point is 00:28:26 But it took me once I got out of it to realize why I was doing it. Does that make sense? Yeah, totally We know that shopping for new clothes can be super time consuming and stressful, especially with four children So I finally let stitchfix do all the work I've been using this for over a year and when it comes to looking good stitchfix has my kids and me covered So you can just say goodbye to endless browsing and hello to fresh picks curated for your style and taste I absolutely love this because all four of my boys are so different When you log on to your account, you'll be able to say yes or no to certain looks

So first the show name is called swingers anonymous And the filming time is about four weeks Um, and the pay is around 20 000 Um, so if you're good with all that, I just want to know what interests you about swinging What interests me about swinging?
Starting point is 00:40:02 The lifestyle is what you're referring to correct I would have to think about it before I gave some hard answers Uh, have you and your wife set boundaries? Um, as far as your marriage goes, um and swinging Uh, yes, but we haven't really taken part in that Got it. Okay. So are you both interested in men or do you prefer a female? Uh, personally a female got it. Okay. And then would you want to swing with friends or people that you've never met? Well
Starting point is 00:40:40 Probably someone that I've never met. Okay I don't know maybe both Okay, so we would probably start filming within the next week or two Um, what does your job schedule look like? Um, I can do whatever I need to do got it. Okay Awesome. Okay. So I think the next step would to be would be to get you and Shall we on to do a questionnaire just to see like if your answers are similar or how different they are? Um, and then we can go ahead and go from there. Right. Okay
Starting point is 00:41:16 So, um, if you're good with that, just talk it over. I'll send you an email with contact information Um, and then we will go ahead and get you over the questionnaire. Okay. Yeah, absolutely. That'd be great. Okay, perfect Well, I look forward to hearing from you soon. Hey, kale. Do you want to tell them what's going on? I'm gonna ask you. Okay. Keep us posted Blank twice if you need help But thank you so much for being on
Starting point is 00:45:42 Thanks, dad. He is not with this shit Summer adventures can turn into a lifelong love of learning, especially when the whole family shares the joy and excitement of discovery Kiwi Co delivers monthly crates of signs and art projects for kids of all ages and kids at heart And they include everything you need to complete each project so you can bring it wherever summer takes you I absolutely love this I do not want to run to the store and get 12 things that I need to do Create a project or an experiment and I love that Kiwi Co has crates for every age that my children are at. So Isaac's 12 Lincoln's eight and lux is four. They even have crates for Creed who's about to be two
Starting point is 00:46:24 And so each crate is seriously fun and the exploration of science technology engineering and math It's really cool because it's all hands-on activities like creating giant bubbles and experimenting with ice cream The kids love this and I always keep them on hand for rainy days in the summertime Funny story Jackson was blessing me out the other day about how I want him to do all of these educational activities Over the summer. I was like, well, we can do something else. What do you want to do? And he goes, well, what about one of those Kiwi crates? So Kiwi crates really has it figured out Honestly, I think these are so cool Your kids will be so excited to see these arrive in the mail the day the box is open
Starting point is 00:47:02 So excited to see these arrive in the mail the day the box arrives will be their favorite day of the month I can promise you that and you're going to be so surprised at how high quality the materials are too These are real engineering science and art projects for children And they'll be able to explore new worlds and rediscover familiar ones even without leaving home If you guys haven't listened in a while I love to do these when I know that we're going to take a vacation somewhere to try to match up the crate to To kind of wherever we're going. So I think that that's really cool too And like keel said, nobody wants to go to the store to get 12 different things to do a project

Starting point is 00:49:39 Well, I'm so glad that we got to do the pranks. That was really great Um, yeah, wait, I had to tell you this story. I've been dying to tell you I was gonna text you about it, but I went to Goodwill for the first time Did you love it? No, I didn't love it I loved it because Jackson loves it But like he was laughing the whole time that we were walking around and he was like mom Do you think you're gonna find any treasures here? And I'm like Not the treasures
Starting point is 00:50:06 Like I don't think I'm gonna find any treasures here But I'm mainly not looking because I have a dumpster fire at our house that I need to clean up before I bring anybody else's treasures there Um, but we were waiting in line to check out and people get really serious about this Goodwill stuff like These ladies were in there. You could tell they were like regular Goodwill shoppers. They were in the line. They were like, do I really need this? This is 50 cents and like I don't know if I need it and stuff and Jackson was like Like these people come here all the time. So all of a sudden I smell this foul smell and I'm like, what is that smell? And I look at Jackson and I'm like looking around and there's this old lady in front of me and she's got her buggy like all the way full
Starting point is 00:50:53 and I'm like, okay. So either she shit herself or my son did and like, I don't know Which one it was and Jackson was cackling and so embarrassed and he was like shoving his face into my stomach and he was like Mom, doesn't it smell like perfume and I was like, he was farting wasn't he? Yeah He was like, doesn't it smell like perfume and I was like, no, it absolutely doesn't it literally smells like shit He was like, well, it was that lady right there and he was literally pointing at her asshole and
Starting point is 00:51:39 He was like, it wasn't me. I didn't let my gas slip. It was her and he was so loud about it Wonder what that lady was thinking. I don't know and I was like, oh my god. She's heard this whole Whole conversation somebody's shitting all over themselves and I'm just trying to get out But I just wanted to let you know for goodwill shoppers. I was pleasantly surprised. It was a lot cleaner than I expected It was a lot more organized than I expected Um, and Jackson loves that damn place Um, have you guys tried yard sales yet? Jackson goes yard sailing with will Will is such an old soul like I used to go yard sailing with my grandma all the time
Starting point is 00:52:20 And my grandma like lived and thrived For yard sales. She did what did you guys find? Well, she found all kinds of stuff. Sometimes I'd find like baby dolls and stuff like that But I mean my weekends were spent yard sailing with grandma with my mom. Um, that is so cute But you didn't learn how to be thrifty No, um I didn't know Bone thrifts a lot and she gets a lot of cute stuff from from goodwill
Starting point is 00:52:52 There are some people that like literally can put whole outfits together from like thrifting and stuff And they'll look super cute and I'm like if I went there and got an outfit. I would look like I was Good, I would look homeless for sure straight up straight up look homeless um outside of that Jackson told me that He was not Uh, gonna be spending the night with will he was gonna be spending the nights over here And that he was just gonna go and play with his dad. So I want to talk about this. Um
Starting point is 00:53:27 I want to know if you've ever had this experience with any of your kids. Okay Um, you don't have to call them out specifically. I only have one so like it's very clear who I'm talking about right and I think that it kind of has a little bit to do with, um different rules at different houses mm-hmm and I'd love to know if you have experience with that
Starting point is 00:53:51 And maybe your kids opinions being skewed based off of like the different rules and like Does co-parenting look very differently for you during the summertime than it does the other months of the year No, it's exactly the same. Um Aside from like um like this week Lincoln has basketball camp
Starting point is 00:54:16 Um, and I it's my week But because I have to record and stuff like that hobby is taking him for me Um outside of things like that. I don't know they look it looks this pretty much the same I think well, I'm more flexible. So like Joe and V and them they all went to ocean city over the weekend. So I'll get Isaac back today. You know what I mean? So yeah yesterday. So like more flexible Yeah, I feel like We're pretty flexible. Um in the past couple of weeks just
Starting point is 00:54:46 especially like, um If Jackson wants to sleep in or something and then it's gonna like fall on will's day and then he'll get him at like Three o'clock instead of 10 a.m. You know like that. Um But have you ever had that experience where? Your child is like, I'm just gonna stay here and then I'm just gonna like do that there and they think that it's literally like I'm in a cherry pick all of like the best options and like formulate my own plan And you guys don't like have a plan as parents Isaac well and for a little while I thought that maybe we should go by what Isaac wanted
Starting point is 00:55:25 Like if he wanted to stay extra time at Joe's or he wanted to stay extra time here, but the therapist was like, no Like you can take his feelings into consideration But ultimately you don't need to be doing what he wants. You need to be doing You know, you guys are ultimately the parents the final decision makers things like that. So Um, but yeah, no, he used to do that too Like, oh, I'm gonna go to my dad's when family is there and like when they're doing fun stuff But if we're doing nothing, I don't want to go and it's like, mm-hmm. That's not how this works Yeah, so I try to explain to Jackson. I'm like, okay
Starting point is 00:55:57 You know, you spend same amount of time with dad same amount of time with me Um, and If anything's going on that's like special, but like you're not doing anything at my house and like His family is doing something special. Then like, of course, you can participate or like and I hope that Will would do the same thing for me, right? Um, I don't know because we really haven't Reenan to that too much. I've reenan to it more like on his side than mine but, um,
Starting point is 00:56:26 Yeah, I think that Jackson's just under the impression at this point that, um He has his own opinions and like he wants them to be known and now that he's become more comfortable with The fact that we are divorced now and like we do our own things that he gets to pick and choose He's like, well, you know, I really do love playing with my dad. So like We can play basketball, but I'm gonna come here to sleep And I'm like, well We can play basketball, but I am going to sleep over here. Yeah. And like when I dropped him off this morning He was like, dad, I just want you to know that
Starting point is 00:57:05 We're gonna like play today But when it comes time for bedtime, I am going to hers Oh, but that's like his comfort I think that's a little bit what it is. He said that he just, um, Feel safe whenever it's with his mom. And I just wonder if that Has anything to do with the fact that I was home with him for so long Um, and it was just me and him, you know, like while we'll work if that has anything to do with it or If he's just maybe more comfortable at this house, like I don't have any idea and I don't know if any other people have ever had experience with us
Starting point is 00:57:40 I'm sure people have but I think it's like And I'm not saying all boys. I'm totally not saying all boys, but there is something special about I would say most boys and their moms like I really wholeheartedly believe that because I would say Isaac, Lux and Creed would all Most three out of four of my sons If they could pick they would stay sleep here and go have fun with their dads during the day Yeah, see I want to be there. I want to be there. I want to be there. I want to be there I want to be there when mom and dad are taking time to look after their dads during the day
Starting point is 00:58:14 Yeah, see I wonder if it's boys then I would I would say I don't know what it is because I'm not trying to be sexist or genderist or anything like that But there just is something about boys and moms like it just it just is like Lincoln is a man's man's man's man's man So like he would be with hobby at all times and then come see me sometimes Yeah I would, I would be willing to bet money that if they have the option to go spend all days
Starting point is 00:58:44 with their, with their dads and then come home at night, they would do it. I think it's just because they have so much fun with your dads because you're doing like, you know, fun stuff, fun stuff. Like, yeah. And let's make no bones about it that Jackson absolutely loves Will. And wants to play with him all the time and wants to know what he's doing at all times and like all up in his business. But when it comes time, like for something to be done or like he's sick or sleeping somewhere, he wants to do all that here. Oh, 100%, 100%. And then while we're on this, do any of your boys still try to sleep with you? Yes. Lux. You're like all of them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:38 Lincoln sometimes and Lux all the time. So I actually go lay with Lux in his bed until he falls asleep. So Jackson just thinks it's a slumber party at all times at my house. And I'm like, okay, well, maybe I'm just like more lax on the rules here. But I would venture out to say I probably still was sleeping with my parents when I was like 10, 11 years old, like we all did, we would all just like pile up in the bed together as if we only had one bed. And Jackson will still do that at my house, but he does not do that at Will's house. And I will get suspicious calls around like 11 p.m. where Jackson snuck his phone and he's calling me and it's like a whisper. And it's like dad's already asleep and I'm in my bed very scared. And I'm very scared of what?
Starting point is 01:00:34 Like a robber, like, is there like some suspicious things going on at that house? And he's like, well, no, I'm just alone, like in my bed. And I told him, I'm like, just go and get in the bed with your dad. It's 11 o'clock at night, like go get in the bed with your dad. So he like creeps in Will's room. And he told me that he slept on his rug because he didn't want to risk the chance of waking his dad up and him being pissed off. Oh, my heart. Jackson, I hope Will lets him because they're not going to be this little forever. They're not going to sleep in the bed forever. Just let them don't even be pissed off. I know. And that's so sad. I'm just like just but some parents are very much like that. And I would love to know the parents that are listening to this.
Starting point is 01:01:18 If you are more will or if you are more Lindsay and Kale. I so it's weird because the one the two that I co slept with. And there was no like rhyme or reason for why I did it was just like different circumstances for circumstances for each kid. But I breastfed Lincoln for a full year and co slept with him for like two years, maybe three. And then Lux, same thing, like breastfed and then co slept. I did not co sleep ever with Isaac or Creed. They don't ever try to come in my bed. Like luck, Creed will come in the morning. Like when he gets up, he'll come like climb into the bed and just like hang out for a minute. But like he doesn't, they are good sleeping all by themselves. But yeah, Lux and Lincoln, they're they're my co sleepers that will still sometimes
Starting point is 01:02:09 sleep with me. Do you feel like they are less emotional beings and the ones that do sleep with you or more or no? No. Isaac's very emotional. Lincoln is not or he is but he won't show it. Lux is he knows how he feels. He knows why he feels that way. He will tell you why he feels that way. And then Creed, I haven't quite figured him out yet, but he's a mystery. He's a mystery. When you're running a small business, every second counts and you can't afford to waste a single moment. Starting point is 01:04:22 of the page and enter code coffee. So our entire lives are on our phones. And if you've been listening for the last couple of weeks, our technical difficulties on this podcast have literally been on our phones. So Lindsay and I have both recorded from our phones. We use them to do our podcasts, plan summer vacation, listen to podcasts. And so they're really, really fragile. And the feeling of dropping your phone is the worst, especially when I am getting kids in and out of my car. I need a case and screen protector for protection and bodyguards is proving that cases don't have to be like big, bulky and just too much to be protective. So they're all designed in the US by their team and they're built for both protection and style in mind, which is really nice.
Starting point is 01:05:06 This weekend, I actually put my bodyguards case to the test in Promptu. I was trying to plant outside and dropped my phone on my porch and it is brick and this sucker had no issues, not even any scratches. So I don't know how that happened, but I'm super impressed. These cases are engineered to protect your phone from eight feet, 10 feet or even 12 feet drops. The cases are slim pocket friendly. So you barely even know it's on your phone. And that is so true. I used to be the queen of like a big case. And now I just have a sleek one and feel so great about myself. They have tons of colors and styles to choose from. And if you're anything like me, you're constantly changing out your cases to match your outfits. So I think that this is
Starting point is 01:05:48 absolutely perfect. Jackson also has it on his phone and loves it. Remember when a screen protector breaks, it is saving your phone and bodyguards knows this. So they offer free replacements for the life of your device. You only pay shipping. And when you buy from bodyguards, a portion of your purchase supports your charity foundation called Relief Haven, which gives back to local community as well as abroad to help children in Africa, escape child labor and gain education and self reliance. And if you guys listen to us, you know that we love a good give back. So I think this is absolutely amazing. So you guys can go to bodyguards.com slash coffee to protect your phone today. That's bodyguards with a Z at the end.com slash coffee to start protecting your
Starting point is 01:06:28 valuable phone today. Speaking of mysteries, did you see the news about Brian Laundrie's notebook? Yes. Yes. Did you read any of it? I actually called Kristen because I was driving and so I put her on speakerphone and she read it to me. I don't buy it at all. Like I do not buy any of his story. Why not call the authorities at any point? Why continue to make her look like she's still alive via Instagram and texting her mom? Like if he would have called the authorities and not done those other things, I might have believed it, but everything else I'm just like, no. And then there were so many signs of abuse and like the footage from the cars, remember when they got pulled over or whatever? Yeah. Like there's just too much to believe his story. Like I just and
Starting point is 01:07:16 the fact that his parents knew and I really feel like the note was more so not to tell the story and confess to Gabby's murder. I think it was more to protect his parents. Okay. So before I say anything on this, I just want to say if you or someone you know is a victim of domestic abuse, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233. This is a trigger warning based off of the things that I'm about to read. The article that I like the most on this coverage was the Fox News article. And I just want to say, do we think that they, I'm a bit crazy, but like a handwriting sample, do we think that like this was compared to like other writings of his? I didn't even think of that. But I mean, I would hope they would, I would hope they would compare.
Starting point is 01:08:17 I'm just saying this was supposedly like underwater for multiple weeks. And although, you know, there could have been the protection barrier or whatever. I'm just weirded out. And then like the fact that the parents knew exactly like where to go and find him. And then the way that this note is written. So there is an actual PDF or whatever of the entire note that we can post on the Instagram, but just for time sake, the notebook said, please do not make life harder for my family. They lost a son and a daughter, the most wonderful girl in the world, Gabby, I'm sorry. He also wrote, I'm sorry to my family. This is a shock to them as well as terrible grief. I just want to say, and not trying to be a conspiracy theorist or anything. And if Kristen
Starting point is 01:09:15 wants to chime in to this part of the conversation, as she has also followed this pretty heavily, Chris Laundrie was the person who stumbled upon this dry bag that later turned out to belong to his son. And the notebook was collected by the FBI that morning. And that's the notebook that contained the confession. And so to me, there's just like, this is a little suspect. I agree. I also agree. Yeah, I definitely followed it. You guys knew my thoughts that I didn't trust the parents at all. I still don't. I found it very suspicious that that area had been searched prior, never found anything. And then this dry bag appears as soon as his parents decide to help look for him. Definitely think that's weird. It said something about it being submerged for like
Starting point is 01:10:09 five weeks. And to me, seeing the notebook pictures, you would think there would be way more damage. Agreed. That was like weird. So the fact that I could read anything that was on there, and it had been underwater for five weeks, and I get it, it was in a dry bag, though. But still, like, I would just assume, if you know what it does to a body, the dry bag's not going to withstand five weeks of being submerged. No, I don't know, though, because I have dry bags, and I do think it would withstand five weeks. Really? Yes. Okay. Yeah, they are, they are really, really durable. And I mean, I've taken, I've taken them on like jet skis, boats. I think it definitely would protect it, but I do think that the parents had something to do with it. Mainly because it
Starting point is 01:11:03 was so positively skewed to protect the parents. I thought that that was like a little odd, the fact that they were the ones who found the dry bag, or the dad was the one who found the dry bag, who's to say that he didn't put that in there. Yeah. I mean, this is all speculation, right? Like, I could be totally wrong, but it's just suspect. No, I'm right there with you when I read that note, and I'm seeing if I, okay, I would think that if I were writing essentially a, you know, confession slash suicide note, I would not be consistently saying that my parent, please don't take this out on my parents. Please don't take this out on my parents. Right. That's why I think it was more for them than it was a, it wasn't really a confession. Yeah, it was very, well, I also just,
Starting point is 01:11:50 I do not buy what he's saying happened whatsoever. Regardless. I don't buy that part either. Agreed. So outside of that, I think that a good place to in this episode is a long going thing that's been something that we've navigated for a period of time. And it was brought to my attention this weekend, checked my DMs, and evidently, Brianna had posted clickbait about me and my parents recent conviction. And I just want to say that if you stand on the fact that you don't like drama, you don't like beef for people to get over things, so on and so forth. Like maybe don't continue putting yourself in the place that other people have to defend themselves, and then it wouldn't be talked about. I'm not really sure how clickbait works, because I have never participated
Starting point is 01:12:51 in that. I don't like the idea of preying on other people's downfalls and monetizing off of that. I will also say that maybe the focus should be more so on Brianna and Chris getting their story straight about the graphic tee and the conversation with Nessa, and less concerned with me, things going on with my family, and so forth. So I don't know if anybody has anything to provide to that, but I'm good with leaving it there. Period.
