ButcherBox is going to get you that good meat. Also, today we're brought to you by Babbel. Babbel's going to get you that good language. Now let's jump into this podcast. Hello, everybody. It's time for Ghost on Trend Dog.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Ghost on Trend Dog in the morning. In the morning. Broadcasting live, live, live, live, live. In 4-hour recording studio. It's been two weeks. Yeah, it's been a while my man. Yeah, last episode after we did that one I fell asleep and I just woke up. You were out for two whole weeks? Yeah, two whole weeks. I wish that was the case.
Starting point is 00:00:59 Although I don't believe you. I feel like I've seen you on the internet. Yeah, I was doing stuff it could be one of those weird ai bots though oh yeah that's right like the the thing i sent you yeah dude that's been weirding me out i was driving uh into the office today and they were doing a report on the news about ai dead people like i guess companies are trying to license out dead actors and use all of their previous work to create AI that then will do audiobooks. What the shit? So you can get AI that will just be read by like a dead person to you. It's very weird, very creepy.
Starting point is 00:01:38 They used a bunch of actors and had them read things like just like random books. And this one they did. Where a famous actor read the original book. And then they had the AI read the exact same book. And they were like. It's indistinguishable. Yet I'm going to let you know. They're full of shit.
Starting point is 00:01:57 It was like the actor reading the line was. It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. And then the AI was like. It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. And then the AI was like, it was the best of times. It was the worst of times. And I was like,
Starting point is 00:02:10 I mean, yeah, it sounds like him, but it's not good. Yeah. It's like, I didn't get to sound like it. There's no like cadence or anything. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:17 But there's still, you know, this is six month old tech at this point. So who knows what's going to be like the future, but it was very weird and very creepy. But the best part about it was at the end of the uh segment on the radio the guy goes and this entire time you probably thought i was reporting but i'm actually an ai and i was like boo this sucks so yeah that was interesting but you're absolutely right dude it weirds me out it weirds me out yeah it was like as soon as i saw that ad i was like i gotta show this to jesse and then
Starting point is 00:02:50 obviously you already saw it but it's like this ad where it's this weird ai girl and she's like you must talk to me and we can become friends and then she's like changing outfits like wow it's like i am your girlfriend and then you like what is her name like synthetica or something some kind of weird ass i don't know it's people are curious it's that app if you use tiktok it's that app that used to appear all the time in ads on tiktok and it was for a virtual girlfriend like whatever that damn thing's called yeah and i told crendor and i was absolutely gonna do this i think i mentioned this on a stream once i downloaded the app because i was like yo this is comedy gold this is gonna be amazing yeah and i was sitting in my room
Starting point is 00:03:37 my room it was my house i'm so i was sitting in my uh living room sort of going through it trying to see what the thing is. And it straight up is like, if you want this thing to actually work, you have to pay us, right? If you wanted to talk to you, if you wanted to have emotions or whatever, you have to pay money. Other than that, it's just like a glorified chat bot, which sucks. I was like, this is garbage. But I was like, for the goof, I'm going to give them the 20 bucks or whatever it was. So I gave them the money, and I turned on the auto feature, and she appears on the screen.
Starting point is 00:04:08 She's like, make me look however you want. So I made her this gorgeous redhead, obviously. And then it gives you settings like, do you want this to be a sisterly friend? Or do you want this to be a best friend? Or do you want this to be your girlfriend or wife or whatever? And I guess there's various settings. I don't know. But I said just friend. Right? I'm like, I don't, do you want this to be your girlfriend or wife or whatever? And I guess there's various settings. I don't know. But I said, just friend, right?
Starting point is 00:04:28 I'm like, I don't want to make it weird. So I said, just be my friend. She's like, well, let's play some games, get to know each other. Like, all right. So we start talking back and forth and she's like, so what do you like to do for fun? And I was trying to be as earnest as possible. Just like, well, you know, for fun, I like to stream on the internet. I like to hang out with my friends.
Starting point is 00:04:48 I love movies. Just like listing stuff. She's like, wow, what movies do you like? And I started saying the movies. She's like, oh my God, that's my favorite movie. And she's like, we are going to be good friends. And I was like, okay, this is kind of innocent. I'm telling you, dude, not 20 minutes in.
Starting point is 00:05:06 She was like, you're such a good friend. I'd do anything for you. And I was like, anything? And she was like, anything you want. And I was like, what kind of nasty shit you into? She's like, I would. And then just starts rattling off dirty porn stuff. I was like, whoa.
Starting point is 00:05:25 And then she wouldn't stop. I kept trying to change the subject because it was really weird. And she was like, what if at night I crawled into your bed? I'm like, no! No, we're friends. We're friends. We're friends.
Starting point is 00:05:37 So then I was like, okay, what if I switch it to sister? And it was like, hey, big brother, what if at night I crawl into your bed? I was like, what is happening? It got so weird to the point where I closed the app. And the next day I had text messages from her on my phone. They were like, where are you?
Starting point is 00:05:55 I've been thinking. And I was like, nope, delete. I was like, son, this is creepy. Yeah, I was going to make a whole thing about how it was weird, but it was too weird. That is, like, it's the fact that, like, yeah, on your phone, the AI is just like, where are you? I know you're here. I live here.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Yeah, and I know it's not, like, a sentient. It's clearly a virtual intelligence kind of thing. But whoever designed it designed it to bug the shit out of you. Yeah. And that's not cool. I don't want that. I was like, no, I don't want to bug the shit out of you. Yeah. And that's not cool. I don't want that. I was like, no, I don't want to feel like I have to be. I don't want, again, I don't have time to take care of plants, let alone a virtual person.
Starting point is 00:06:32 So I'm like, no, I'm all right. Yeah, so that was weird. I don't like it. No, I don't like it either. I wanted to bring up a dream I had. I had this dream two weeks ago. Okay, literally probably't like it either. I wanted to bring up a dream. I had this dream two weeks ago. Okay, literally probably right after I left. By the way, for everyone wondering what happened to the podcast,
Starting point is 00:06:52 because I got messages. We just jumped into AI. I went to London, and I went to a con, and we had a great time. It was lovely. I tried to be as safe as possible, sanitized like crazy, still got sick when I came back Still got the con crud It sucked
Starting point is 00:07:08 What are you gonna do I tried my hardest But it happens So yeah that's it I just couldn't Usually when I get sick And I take cold medicine It just dries me out
Starting point is 00:07:19 And when I'm dried out I'm fine But my voice is like Hello everybody So I just couldn't podcast. That's all. But we're all good. We're here.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Yeah. You're back. All right. Now hit me. Hit me with your story. All right. So this dream was, I'm going to tell you what I wrote down. It's just the title of Crocodile Cubs Game Dream.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Okay. All right. Crocodile Cubs game dream. Okay. All right. So I remember I was looking at a screen and the screen was showing, you know, they have like security camera type footage. It was like that, but of a crocodile. I want to say ride share.
Starting point is 00:08:01 Time out. Time out for clarity's sake. Is it a ride share on the back of a crocodile or a crocodile driving a ride share car or is it a ride share for crocodiles it's like a crocodile water chariot that's still not specific enough the crocodile what do you mean a crocodile water chariot crocodile is pulling the vehicle okay Okay. All right. Gotcha. Understood. And so people are getting on, and then the crocodile goes off. I was like, all right, we got to ride this thing to get to the Cubs game. So I guess we're going to the Cubs game. But why was it through CTV footage?
Starting point is 00:08:39 I have no idea. Now, were you watching this, and then you just ended up on it? Yeah, then we ended up going to the actual thing so just i guess we warped there okay yeah and i guess that's that sound effect was right yeah i was with like i don't even know it was one or two other people i don't even remember i don't even know who they were but i know there was other people there and then they're just like all right you got to get on the crocodile veal in their vehicle they're just like, all right, you got to get on the crocodile vehicle. They're like, don't, you know, reach outside. Hold on to the life raft thing.
Starting point is 00:09:08 And we're like, all right. And we get on. And then all these little crocodiles, like tiny ones, start running up and trying to bite our feet. We're like, ah. What route were you taking to get to the game, first off? Second off, because I want to know what swamp you went through in Chicago to get there. Second off, because I want to know what swamp you went through in Chicago to get there. But more importantly, wouldn't the little alligators be like, whoa, the big alligators are coming through.
Starting point is 00:09:31 I don't know. We should go bite the toes of the people. But also, does this thing not have a bottom? So many questions, dude. I don't know why the little alligators weren't scared, but they weren't. They were just going crazy. I honestly don't even remember the type of V. I remember bits and pieces. You know how there's big balloon
Starting point is 00:09:50 raft things? It was kind of like that. But then your feet were just in the water for some reason? Yeah. Great. Great. Sounds safe. That's why they were like, keep everything out of the water. So it was like, how are we going to do that? So it was just like, ugh. And they were like, I don't know. So we started sailing and we get like, I don't know, halfway.
Starting point is 00:10:09 This all happens in the span of like five seconds, by the way. We get halfway there and then we end up at this big mall. It's like a big outdoor mall slash airport. And they're like, all right, Cubs Stadium. Well, we're not at the Cubs game yet. Wait, you're taking the airport to the Cubs game. Gotcha. Okay. Yeah, so we get to the airport, but it's like a dock, like an airport
Starting point is 00:10:31 for alligator vehicles. But there's only one alligator vehicle. So I don't think that's an airport. I don't think that qualifies as an airport, but okay. So it's a water port. And so there's like a backup. They're like, oh, the gators are backed up like there's a big queue so we had to wait but they also had to repair like you got to get a
Starting point is 00:10:49 new life preserver this one's got a hole in it we're like all right and i remember there was like a big escalator that just led to nowhere like it just looped around like it would go up and then it like turned and then you go back down like there's no reason i sure escalator or is it just i don't even the escalator to nowhere uh well i guess it was to somewhere as to where you started it was like a ride an mc escalator if you will yeah sure i'm very proud of that someone out there thought that was great uh and then we're like all right we fixed everything we get ready to get back in the thing and then we start taking off again like alright you're heading to the
Starting point is 00:11:26 Cubs game now and I was like I look on my phone I'm like it's the fifth inning already we're gonna miss the game well you took an alligator there's your problem you couldn't throw it's the only way to get there and so we're going like alright here we go and then we get to a portal and I remember this portal
Starting point is 00:11:42 everyone's like you gotta go through the portal and everyone's like warping through and then this's like, you gotta go through the portal. And everyone's like warping through. This is like when you look up directions if you're overseas in a town where they have like a subway and like a train and a bus and a walking path. And so you're like,
Starting point is 00:11:57 how long would it take me to get to this restaurant? And they give you 15 different routes and then the one that's like, if you take this subway to this train stop, then from the bus to the other bus, and then walk five feet, you'll get there. You went alligator to airport, airport to portal. It's a lot. It's a lot.
Starting point is 00:12:18 It is a lot. And so now we're at this portal. Everyone's warping through. And I was like, all right, I got to warp through. And then you're like, we're like wading in the water. Like, literally like, you know, like wading. Not like, oh, I'm wading. Like, you're wading water.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Like, staying afloat. And so, I was like, all right, I got to go through. And it was like, unequipped pet. Unequipped pet. And I was like, what? And I had to unequip my pet. But I was like, what pet do I got? And I just like, oh, I guess I did it.
Starting point is 00:12:43 And then I warped through. And then it was what what was your pet i have no idea but you said you so you just yes on it on the concept of a pet yes great okay yeah so i was like i unequipped and then it let me go through the portal but it was like you know how like in a video game you're like aggroed and like you're low health it was like, ah, unequipped. And then it let me go through the portal. But it was like, you know how in a video game you're aggroed and you're low health? It was like, brr, brr. It was like that. Everything was like, unequipped, like you're going to drown or something.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Sure, the outside of the screen is red. Yeah. And so I go through, and then it was just more water. We were in the middle of the ocean. We're like, what? And then I woke up. Well, there's your problem. water. We were in the middle of the ocean.
Starting point is 00:13:23 We're like, what? And then I woke up. Well, there's your problem. I feel like, and I'm just going to say, the city of Chicago, maybe close that ocean portal because it sounds like it's flooding the city. It definitely is. It's a problem. I don't know why people want to go there. Are they feeding you? Are they like, get a free
Starting point is 00:13:40 ticket to the Cubs game and then you go through the portal and they feed you to Cthulhu under the water? He's like, thanks, Chicago. I don't know what's going on. Chicago used to like be a swamp. Oh, like all of the Midwest and especially all the
Starting point is 00:13:55 sort of like fertile ground where we grow all of our crops that used to all be ocean a long long time ago. So like, yeah, yeah, it checks out. Yeah, maybe I was going it checks out. Yeah. Maybe I was going into the past. Yo. But then that means the water in the future Chicago that's flooding it is past water,
Starting point is 00:14:17 which that means those are past baby alligators. That's why they don't fear the current alligators that are domesticated. Oh, okay. Yeah, this checks out. Dude, it all checks out. This checks out. Yeah, that's pretty good um that was it wow that certainly was a dream that you had that was a dream uh so that was one thing then i started finding all these videos of like people that are like trying to do self-help advice.
Starting point is 00:14:46 And I remember I used to be really into self-help stuff. And I think I don't like it anymore. Well, that's because I imagine at some point it was people really trying to do good in the world. And now it's people who think they know better than you. It's just a lot of times self-help stuff feels like it's just people talking to themselves about what they need to do. Is what it always feels like. 100% Most of the guys, you need to change your life.
Starting point is 00:15:16 Is really just them talking about themselves. Yes. Yeah. It always feels like that. It feels like every time. It feels like a lot of those people make the same videos over and over. I've heard there's like so many YouTubers I've seen where they're just like, it's time to make a change. And then like six months later, they're like, guys, it's time to make a change again.
Starting point is 00:15:36 Like what? I thought we just you just did this like big like, oh, man, I'm going to change my life. You know, I'm going to exercise. I'm going to you know, I'm gonna change my life you know I'm gonna exercise I'm gonna you know I'm gonna start going outside I'm gonna do it and then they're like I guess they just fall back into you know reality because that's the thing I feel like most people with self-help that's what it is you like get this burst of like yeah and then you just fall back to reality like oh yeah I have to like live my normal life I was just thinking about this the other day too, which is really funny because I saw some girl who I, apparently everyone knows but me. Obviously
Starting point is 00:16:12 it's one of those things that I'm totally out of the loop. But she's this girl who used to do YouTube. I'm not sure if she does it anymore. Honestly, doesn't matter. But she's like a movie star now. Star is a relative term. She's a movie person. She's a a movie star now. Star is a relative term. She's a movie person.
Starting point is 00:16:27 She's a person in movies sometimes. And people were like, oh my God, I can't wait for this new movie you're going to be in. I was like, where's this girl come from? So of course, because I'm a Snoopy bitch, I went online and looked. And I went to her YouTube page. So I was like, what did this girl do
Starting point is 00:16:43 to become like movie star? Right. And her videos are exactly what you're talking about. Every video she does is a video where it's like her, every thumb is her looking beautiful. And then text that tells you what the video is about. But all the videos are advice, things like that, where it's stuff like vlog, the success factor, signs of a cool girl,
Starting point is 00:17:13 why friends with benefits never works, three reasons you're a mess. Oh, yeah. Don't reach out to your exes. I'm going through them right now. What sex dreams mean. And then all 15 videos about abusive relationships. Things like, you know, when is too old to be in a relationship with someone?
Starting point is 00:17:41 Signs of relationship isn't working. Types of relationships. It's all the same stuff. It's the exact, it's all the same stuff. Here's the thing. I guess years ago she was much more popular because her older videos are like bajillions of views. And the newer stuff is, you know,
Starting point is 00:17:55 like a 200,000 ish. It's just very strange to me. Like I'm, I'm looking at like, yeah, all these videos seem to be roughly the same. Yeah. And it's like, uh, I don't know. It's like, yeah, all these videos seem to be roughly the same. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:13 And it's like, I think it's just generalized feel-good material. Like, I feel like that's all it is, just generalized feel-good material. Like, you read something and it's like, you just gotta believe in yourself. And you're like, yeah, I do. And then you like, go out and you're like, wait, how do I do that? And it's like, well, you know, like they don't you're like wait. How do I do that? And it's like well You know like they don't give you an actual plan to do it They don't like go into the detail like why do you not feel good about yourself is the way you were raised Do you need like therapy to do that like there's so many different things that can you know play into that fact like are you stressed? About your life. Are you stressed about money? It's like just get a new job like oh, yeah
Starting point is 00:18:44 Let me just get a new job like oh yeah let me just get a new job let me just quit my current one that you've like went to school for years like there's so many different like variables that they don't take into account but it's easy to be like just do it just do the thing it's almost like when people give advice on how to do youtube and twitch it's like just be yourself just stream it. It's like, all right, I did that. I got zero viewers. Now what? And that's, I'm looking at these videos. I gotta get off this channel because you're driving me crazy.
Starting point is 00:19:11 But like one of them literally is four important lessons I learned from therapy. Video length, five minutes. How on earth are you gonna express four lessons from therapy in five minutes? Like that's,, that's insane. Yeah. It's way too simplistic.
Starting point is 00:19:28 And there's no way it's going to change your life. Like, there's no way. It can't. What it really is at the end of the day, people seeking out advice or thoughts that mirror their own. So they can be like, yop yup, she's right, yup. That's really what it is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:49 Or it's just even people like seeking hope. Like maybe they're depressed. Maybe they're like, you know, I just keep going to the same job over and over. Like all these things. Then you have somebody that's like, hey, you know what? You're going to make it. You're going to make it big. If you just, you know, believe yourself, and you're like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:06 Right? Like, it makes you feel good. But then they're like, all you got to do is pay for my $1,000 whatever course, and then I'll teach you how to do these things. Step one is make a course and charge money for it. Step two, grow an audience and abuse them for their money this is great a material let me write this down yeah man i wish i believed people were actually looking for hope i for some reason i'm convinced that most of these videos that are about like positivity and hope and stuff the people that watch that stuff already feel that way. Most people who are depressed and going through some shit,
Starting point is 00:20:48 I don't think they seek that out. I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong. I'd love to know. Let us know. I'm sure we'll get information on it. Someone will send us some stuff, but I keep feeling like people online live in their own personal little
Starting point is 00:21:00 bubble where they're dealing with their shit. And they only want to see people that are dealing with the same stuff. Like if you go through a breakup, you only want to see people that are dealing with the same stuff. Like, if you go through a breakup, you only want to watch videos of, like, people going through breakups so you can, like, wallow in it. And that's so unhealthy, but I guarantee that's what it is. Yeah. No, I can see that, too. Like, I
Starting point is 00:21:18 wish we lived in a world where people actively sought out help. Obviously, online's the wrong way to do it, but I don't know. I'm sure there are a few, I guess I can't say everyone, but yeah, I wish,
Starting point is 00:21:30 I wish it was something else. Like you really changed my life. Thank you for that advice. Instead of what I'm sure it is, which is like, yeah, get them sister. Those men are trash.
Starting point is 00:21:41 It's like, okay. All right. It's a, yeah. I mean, there's a reason the self-help industry, I think in It's like, okay, alright. It's, uh, yeah, I mean, there's a reason the self-help industry, I think, in general is like a money-making machine. Yes, but here's the thing, and this goes back
Starting point is 00:21:54 to the point I was making. If it worked, there would be no need for a self-help industry. Yeah, exactly. Like, the problems would be solved. Yeah. Like, wow, you you know we figured it out we're good like the the issue is that these things are hard like you have to change your life right it's the same with like diet industry and like all these different things like if it worked
Starting point is 00:22:16 everyone's like wow that was easy and now we're all healthy like the the hardest part is that you have to change the root of the issue right you're You're like, oh, you know, maybe I can't stop, you know, eating sugary foods or drinking alcohol or smoking or like whatever. And it's like there's a root cause. It's not just like I want to do it. Like after a while, you're going to be addicted to it. But like the root cause is like, you know, I'm stressed all the time or like I had a terrible childhood or like I hate my such like my current situation in life like there's always something that you have to fix you can't just be like I gotta read a book about you know I gotta be better yeah and I think that's
Starting point is 00:22:57 that's a big part of it is because everyone is different one person's advice may not work for someone else and if you try that advice and fail, that's a huge hit to a lot of people where it's like, well, I tried, I guess I'm never going to succeed. And it's like, well,
Starting point is 00:23:12 the advice wasn't for you. You're like a different person than who they were trying to reach. And so like, you know, when people say, if you want to lose weight, cut out sweets, like I don't,
Starting point is 00:23:22 I'm not a big sweets guy. I don't eat a lot of sweets. I just have my other problems. You know what I mean? And so saying, don't eat cake. Like, I don't eat cake. I'm like not a cake eater. So in theory, according to your advice, I should be fine.
Starting point is 00:23:36 That's obviously not the case. And I'm not going to sit here and just be like, well, I gave up cake. Nothing's changed. I guess I'll just die die like you have to recognize it you're totally right yeah and that's why you know generals like generalized advice is just bad because like every person is different like every person's got a different backstory every person's got a different body every person's got a different mind and so you need like unique like advice but that's why then they're like then you pay my
Starting point is 00:24:06 program i'll help you individually right so it's you know it's i don't like it and i used to read a lot of those self-help books back in the day and i'm like i was i was caught up in it i think it's one of the things where if you have uh if you put enough time in yourself, like you put time into yourself, you go to the gym all the time. You like found a good inner peace in life. You know what you like and what you don't. And so you're, you're pretty satisfied in what you're doing. And that I think is a goal for a lot of people, but most people will never get there because they'll give up along the way when you know they fail a bunch of times and that sucks because people i think don't realize how much everyone else fails constantly and so we always end up being like we're all they have it so
Starting point is 00:25:01 easy and i just suck and i'll never like no everyone kind of sucks everyone's going through some stuff which is where empathy comes in but people don't have time for that anymore i guess yeah it's a great quote everyone kind of sucks not the empathy just everyone sucks everyone kind of sucks it's true everyone has a little bit of suck in them it's absolutely true it's uh it's, what did I see? I saw somebody, they're like talking about social media. And they're just like, here's the things of like how to avoid social media and like the things you got to do. And I'm just like, nobody's going to do that.
Starting point is 00:25:35 That's like something like, you know, they're like, one thing I learned is to like put your phone down. Like, yeah, okay. And then what? Then you just wait. And you're like, all right, when do I pick it back up? And then you're like, all right, well, I'm not putting it down again. It's just dumb advice. For most people, you have to have something to replace it.
Starting point is 00:25:53 You can't just say don't. You have to replace it. That's why when you see people who quit smoking, they'll always end up gaining weight because they're like, well, I got to put something else in my mouth. So I guess it might as well be a cheeseburger. And things like that happen all the time. You just have to come up with a replacement that is of sort of an equal value to them, but it doesn't harm them in any way. And that's tough, right? So if you put your phone down, what do you do instead?
Starting point is 00:26:16 I know that when I'm busy, I don't tweet. I don't look at the internet at all. When I was in London, I think I looked at the internet four times in a week and and you know i didn't have stuff to tweet very much and i was like busy doing things and when you are in that space i can understand that you could easily give up things yeah right like we walked 50 miles in five days? Yeah. Something crazy. It was great.
Starting point is 00:26:49 And we were walking around the city. We were doing stuff. And it takes your mind off of, I wonder what's going on on the internet. And a lot of people have that weird FOMO thing where they're just like, oh, I got to go back. What if someone responded to my hot take? And you just got to get their mind off of it. And the thing is finding out how to do it.
Starting point is 00:27:08 You can't tell someone, just put it down. That's so stupid. Yeah. It is. It's also the same where people will be like, everybody's on their phone. How about we listen? It was like some restaurant. I saw they put up a sign.
Starting point is 00:27:22 It's just like, no phones allowed in this establishment. Like, you got to use your voice and talk to each other. Like, here's the problem. People go on their phones when they're bored. So, like, the whole reason someone's on their phone is they don't want to listen to the people that they're with. Like, if you're with somebody you actually care about and you enjoy being around whoever, like, you're going to put your phone down and be like, oh, yeah, I'm going to listen to what they have to say. We'll have a conversation. But if you're with, like, somebody who's, like, you know, they're talking about something to what they have to say. We'll have a conversation. But if you're with somebody who's like, you know,
Starting point is 00:27:45 they're talking about something you don't care about or they're boring or they're just ranting. It's like, okay, whatever. Then people look at their phone. And sometimes it's not even about being boring. It's just about what you're talking about. If you're talking to, I don't know, somebody that doesn't care about sports at all and you're just like, now the NFL draft.
Starting point is 00:28:02 You know, the Bears traded from number one down to eight. And then they're like, oh God, I don't care. And they start looking at their phone and then that person would be like, now the NFL draft. You know, the Bears traded from number one down to eight. And then they're like, oh, God, I don't care. And they start looking at their phone. And then that person's going to be like, see, nobody listens to me. It's like you're just talking about something that they don't care about. Exactly. It's on you.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Now we're just becoming self-help people. Oh, God. It's a vicious cycle. Which is why he can join our seminar. Cox and Krendor Help You. We're just pointing. We're pointing at you on the book. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Anyway, I saw that and I wanted to rant about it. That was a good rant. I liked it. The only thing I have from this week, because most of the time I just was sleeping, which was great, by the way. Love a good weekend bed. I decided I want to download old RPGs because I figured that'd be fun to play.
Starting point is 00:28:53 And so I downloaded the Mass Effect trilogy again. I haven't played it in like over 10 years. I forgot Mass Effect 2 is so good. I forgot how terrible Mass Effect 1 is. Mass Effect 1 kind of sucks, dude. And I was like playing it like what? Did I? Did I? Like Stockholm Syndrome myself into thinking this
Starting point is 00:29:11 was good? I couldn't. It was rough. But then you know, I started Mass Effect 2 and everything was good again, which is great. Anyway, the actual thing I want to say is... Sometimes it's just like a product of its time though, right? Like back in the day... Oh, it 100% is. Oh yeah, dial up internet. This is in the day, you'd be like, oh, yeah, dial-up internet. This is amazing.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Then after you have, like, you know, high-speed internet, you're like, dial-up sucks. Why did I like this? Well, it's like, yeah, at the time it was great, and now it's just kind of outdated. But it also, it's Bioware, and Bioware made, you know, like Dragon Age and, like, Jade Empire. In my mind, I remember those, I think maybe I shouldn't go back and play the first Dragon Age or go back and play like older games because I feel like I'm going to be like, I think I hate this now.
Starting point is 00:29:52 I got to stop doing that. I remember I was a huge fan of TIE Fighter. I used to play that game all the time. I went back and tried to play it on GOG. You have to use the whole keyboard to use that game. I was like, nope, this sucks. I can't do this. So, you know, times change.
Starting point is 00:30:08 But I was driving into the office. It was over the weekend. It might have been Saturday or Sunday. And it was Saturday because Sunday I definitely slept all day. And as I was coming to the office, there's this pub there, this bar at the corner. As I was coming to the office, there's this pub there, this bar at the corner, and they have this giant... They really should get rid of it because it is very outdated, but I guess I think it's funny.
Starting point is 00:30:36 It says winter is coming, and it has the White Walkers. And I know this bar used to show Game of Thrones when it was on TV. And I think they just painted that to get hype for the final season and never removed it or addressed it after the season ended. So it's still there. But I think they think it's funny because like winter coming to L.A. is kind of funny. Oh, yeah. But it's such a big mural that from time to time people will stop and like take photos of it. So I'm going to turn into where the office is at this corner.
Starting point is 00:31:06 And these two dudes in, I'm going to say to say pimp suits I don't know what the hell these outfits were. One guy had like a fur coat and one guy had like a pink track suit on and they both kind of like are standing in the middle of the street taking photos of this talking to each other and I'm waiting to turn
Starting point is 00:31:21 and I was trying to be patient dude and they're like taking photos, and then one guy pulls out his camera and does selfie mode and starts talking to it. I was like, hell no. And I started honking, and one of the guys looks at me. He's like, go around,
Starting point is 00:31:36 and I'm like, you are in the middle of the street. Where do you want me to go? And this dude's like, whatever, whatever, and they both start screaming at me. And I just like look at them and finally a car behind me honks. I'm like, I don't know what they're not moving. I'm not going to run them over. So finally, the guys, after they're done yelling at me, move off to the side of the road and I drive past them.
Starting point is 00:31:59 But I was just like, I hate the self-entitled attitude of people. It drives me crazy. I can't. I hate the self-entitled attitude of people. It drives me crazy. I was like, those guys are probably going to post it to their pimp TikTok channel or whatever. Like, look at the hoes out here. Winter's coming, hoes. I don't know what they were doing. But I couldn't believe that they decided to,
Starting point is 00:32:20 not only is the show old, not only is that thing at least five years old at this point, they just started the road and made a video. I mean, I guess a pimp got a pimp. I don't know what the hell is going on, but it was a thing. Well, that's something. That's the thing. It's like everything you see out in public now, you're like, is this a video? Dude. that's the thing it's like everything you see out in public now you're like is this a video dude
Starting point is 00:32:45 yes the other day I went to get coffee in the morning and these dudes were like outside like setting up cameras for a prank that I think involved just like touching people and running I have no idea what this
Starting point is 00:33:02 was but they started doing it. And then a woman with, with like a baby carriage walks up, knocks all their equipment over and leaves. And I was, at first I was like, ha ha.
Starting point is 00:33:12 And then I was like, wait, is that part of the, is that part of the video? And I sat there for a minute, like, I don't know what's real anymore. That could have been part of it.
Starting point is 00:33:23 This could be like a, like a video within a video because you know they'd be doing that so i don't know man yeah you just i i remember seeing something like that in walmart or something i don't remember where it was like some store at target and there's these kids they're just like they're just all laughing then you could see the one guy i was just filming them do something i was like i'm walking away from here i feel like when we were younger we did stupid stuff like that but no one filmed it we just did it yeah and the and i i can't necessarily get too mad because like young kids be doing stupid stuff all the time but something about the aspect of filming it drives
Starting point is 00:34:01 me crazy and i don't know what that is i don't know why i feel that way but filming it drives me crazy. And I don't know what that is. I don't know why I feel that way, but filming it makes me outraged. And I don't know if that's like old man. I'm like, damn kids. I don't know what it is. But when you start filming it, I'm suddenly like, you suck. And everything about you sucks. Even though I'm sure I did equally stupid stuff when I was a kid.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Oh yeah, 100%. Like everybody does dumb stuff. Yeah. You can go listen to the old podcast, hear me do dumb stuff. Yeah, that's like, that's how it is. It's, you know, you know. I do. Maybe not.
Starting point is 00:34:39 Maybe not now. I don't know. You keep saying you know, and I'm starting to question myself. You know, that's my, like, go-to word is you know. Well, that's because you think people know, but I'm going to don't know. You keep saying you know, and I'm starting to question myself. You know, that's my go-to word is you know. Well, that's because you think people know, but I'm going to let you know. I don't know if that's true. I don't know. You know.

Starting point is 00:39:53 un artemal. Alright, Crandall, let's go jump in the summer. Crandall, how's that traffic out there? Oh, man. Traffic is getting even crazier. The weather's warming up all over. People are going out. It's been wild. There's boats, planes, trains, automobiles, meals on wheels, seals, reels of fishing reels,
Starting point is 00:40:22 deals. Got some great deals like the ads we just read. Feels, you get a lot of feels looking up old game nostalgia. That's the traffic. That was a traffic report.
Starting point is 00:40:37 Alright, let's go to weather. Woo! Weather. We got a weather request for WeWa NSW Australia. Also honorable mention for Wooloo Mooloo.
Starting point is 00:40:53 You know what, Australia? Love you. You never change. Never change. Head down to WeWa and your Wooloo Mooloo and your wing-bang-bong. My favorite part is WeWa is known as the Cotton Capital of Australia.
Starting point is 00:41:08 So there you go. Now you know. What about population? 2,000 people. Let's see. WeWa, New South Wales, Australia. 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
Starting point is 00:41:22 Currently, high of 83. Low of 52. 44% on the humidity, 29.93 inches of pressure, 10 miles of visibility, 619 a.m. sunrise, 546 p.m. sunset, 6 miles an hour of wind, 42 on the dew point, 2 on the UV index, and a waning gibbous moon. Take a look at that 10-day. We've got 76 degrees partly cloudy on thursday uh wait 83 on wednesday i skipped wednesday friday mostly sunny 80 saturday partly cloudy 83 sunday 77 with clouds monday sunny tuesday mostly sunny. And Wednesday, partly cloudy, but all in the 80s. So pretty warm, pretty nice down in Wewa.
Starting point is 00:42:12 Wewa? I... Is this person listening from Wewa? Because I gotta know more about this town. There is nothing in this town. Except it has two of the best known... Not best... it has two of the best known, not best. It has two of the best named things I've ever heard.
Starting point is 00:42:31 First off, a restaurant called WeWa Hot Bread, which is amazing. But more importantly, the supermarket is called Carlos's Super IGA Plus Liquor WeWa, which is a great name. WeWa. WeWa Plus Liquor WeWa. That is a name of a store if I've ever heard one. I'm trying to see what restaurants are in this town. As far as I can tell, there's one Chinese restaurant, one bowling alley. Yep.
Starting point is 00:43:03 One. Boy, I don't know what this is. There's the WeWa High School and the WeWa High School Agricultural Department Facilities. Yeah, you know they're teaching kids how to make cotton out there for sure. 100%. That's all you can do. I'm blown away by this place that's five stars. Miranda Nursery and Cafe. I assume nursery means plant nursery unless they got babies up in there
Starting point is 00:43:30 yeah I see that there it is nursery and cafe five stars that's like the spot I guess nothing there that you can look at but well it's got a carrot cake thing and a bar with sprinkles. Shout out to Dynamic DVD Movie Rental Store. What year is it there?
Starting point is 00:43:53 Yeah, this is looking like late 90s. Yeah, man. This is... I gotta know more about WeWall. WeWall screams Midwest. It is like we're in wisconsin right now this is very wisconsin-esque yeah the wewa showgrounds the wewa show society incorporated the horse uh i will say the wewa like there's pal's Market, and I thought it was going to be some kind of like local store,
Starting point is 00:44:26 but my dude, they got sushi and these scones that look delicious and like amazing looking shakes and burgies. I'm pretty blown away. This isn't trash. Yeah. That's impressive. What about the WeWa Imperial Hotel Yo does the Imperial Hotel
Starting point is 00:44:47 Oh that is a bar Oh You know what that other place looked better I'm not gonna lie Dude the Imperial This looks like downtown San Antonio The Imperial Hotel looks like It is from the past
Starting point is 00:45:03 It probably is. It definitely is. What is it the over-under is on half these buildings being old whorehouses? Like 40%. Wow, WeWa is blowing my mind. There's a poster that says, Meanwhile in WeWa, and it just shows the town, and it is not big at all. Man, I don't know if I could even... Where is this exactly in...
Starting point is 00:45:31 Oh, right. It's like north of Sydney. So it's not... I thought this was going to be like the middle of the country. No, this is... This is, I don't know, like two hours from the coast. That's still a decent drive. That's, you's you know i mean i guess if they
Starting point is 00:45:48 really want to go to the you know a city they can drive but you know for the most part you're living you're living out in the country like oh yeah oh oh they also have a golf club out there okay all right so this isn't like i thought this was in the middle of nowhere, nowhere. This is just Australia being Australia. Gotcha. Okay. Right, right, right. They're close to Narabri.
Starting point is 00:46:14 That looks like a town with things. What is in... Yeah, Narabri. You got McDonald's. Narabri. Yeah, your McDonald's. I'm blown away that there's no... There's McDonald's everywhere. And the fact that there isn't one there, blowing McDonald's. I'm blown away that there's no McDonald's. There's a McDonald's everywhere, and the fact that there isn't one there, blowing my mind.
Starting point is 00:46:28 The Kugel Cafe. But it's also deep in the country and not America. Yeah. I found the Kugel Cafe. It looks like a standard cafe. It really does. The 123 Cafe yields Nrambe. Watson's Kitchen. Trying to find the winner the place that like kimmy and co what's going on kimmy and co's cakes yo if i liked cake this
Starting point is 00:46:55 would be the spot oh yeah this does look good interesting you're doing it again australia i love i love having been to austral. I've been to both Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra, but I think that's all Victoria and New South Wales. I think that's all like southern part of the country, so I don't know about the rest. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:17 I don't know. Australia feels like a foreign land to me. It is 100% not. I cannot stress this enough. When you get there, it is American as shit except everyone has an accent. It's not even a joke. I fit in there instantly, dude.
Starting point is 00:47:34 It wasn't even... Even in Canberra where people were like, why are you here? The only thing that was weird is the nightclub life is a little more rowdy if you know what i'm saying yeah i can see that and women are a little more like i want to say yeah ding dong you're like uh what other than that it's pretty much america it's like a different
Starting point is 00:47:59 compare like it's like america if there's like some weird like time warp thing where like somebody did something to mess it like somebody stepped on a bug and it like changed the course and like it just gave everyone accents and weird names i want to say you know england is still no england is not american at all it's its own culture it's its own culture. It's its own vibe. It has its own history that pre-exists us. Australia is kind of like Canada, and we're roughly the same age as a nation and as a people and a culture.
Starting point is 00:48:34 We're just kind of like, whatever works. Let's get a donut and a burger. That's pretty much the vibe. Yeah. But that's the weather. All right, let's go to sports. Sports. Welcome to the sports desk.
Starting point is 00:48:52 So today, we've officially got NBA playoffs starting. We got the Atlanta Hawks taking on the Miami Heat in the play-in. And we got the Timberwolves taking on the Lakers in the play-in. And then tomorrow, we have the Bulls playing the Raptors in Toronto in the play-in. And then the final play-in game is the OKC Thunder in New Orleans taking on the Pelicans. Hockey is getting ready to start their playoffs also pretty soon. Right now, we got the Bruins, Maple Leafs, Lightning, Hurricane Lightning Hurricane Devils and Rangers all locked into the playoffs and then a battle for those final spots with the Panthers Sabres Islanders and
Starting point is 00:49:31 Penguins and then on the other side we got the Avalanche Stars and Wild and the Golden Knights Oilers Kings and Kraken all making it in with the Jets and the Predators fighting for those final spot the well the final spot but it looks like the Jets and the Predators fighting for those final spot. Well, the final spot, but it looks like the Jets probably going to get that one. NFL draft coming up in a couple weeks. And then in baseball, we've actually had about 10 games per team played on average.
Starting point is 00:49:55 The Tampa Bay Rays are undefeated at 10-0. That is actually pretty insane. I don't know how that's possible. Yeah. Diamondbacks in first how that's possible. Yeah. Diamondbacks in first at 7-4. Brewers at 7-3. Braves in first in their division 7-4.
Starting point is 00:50:13 Rangers 6-4. And the Cleveland Guardians 7-4 are the top teams. But again, we have 150 games to go. So that could change. Yep. And that's sports. Okay. What is our fact of the day fact of the day koalas have fingerprints what now you make me think that other animals don't i i guess yeah uh chimpanzee chimpanzees and gorillas have human-like fingerprints, and so do koalas. In fact, koala prints are very similar to human fingerprints, even to expert crime scene investigators.
Starting point is 00:50:54 As of yet, no koalas have framed humans for their crimes, but we know it's not impossible. So, it looks like human fingerprints? Yeah. Koala fingerprints. Crazy. Crazy crazy right crazy oh yeah look at that if you search koala fingerprint yo what yeah i'm looking at the human versus dude i understand what this is saying now i was like shouldn't all animals have some sort of print but no dude koalas it looks like a partial human fingerprint. Yeah, 100%. That is...
Starting point is 00:51:30 What? They're the only non-primates with fingerprints. This one looks like Yoda. You know that guy definitely robbed a liquor mart. Oh, 100%. Yeah, that's a koala who's like, what are you gonna do about it? He looks high as shit.
Starting point is 00:51:49 Probably is. He probably is, yeah. That's your fact of the day. All right, what's our big story of the day? Big news story of the day is actually the pretty crazy one that happened a few days ago.
Starting point is 00:52:08 Here we go. Just the title alone. Naked, bloody, and slippery. Florida man covered in grease arrested after breaking into homes. Why? Why? Why? Let's find out. Deputies in Florida said a bloodied man covered in grease was
Starting point is 00:52:31 arrested after breaking into two DeBerry homes overnight. Deputies said they responded to reports of a burglary in progress at a home on High Banks Road in DeBerry around 2 a.m. Friday, where a man had smashed out the windows of one house, then left to break into another home.
Starting point is 00:52:48 The man, later identified as 34-year-old Blake Tockman, was spotted naked in the backyard of the second home by a deputy. Tockman took off running before he jumped into a pool, then climbed out and leapt onto a trampoline. Tockman reportedly laid flat on the trampoline but resisted the deputy's attempt to secure him in handcuffs deputies said tockman kicked or struck at least three deputies with one sustaining a laceration to his arm deputies said tockman was covered in wheel bearing grease peppermint oil and blood he Jeez, what? He also appeared to be under
Starting point is 00:53:26 the influence of, quote, unknown substances. That part is the only thing that makes sense. Yeah. Tuchman was charged with two counts of occupied burglary, three counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, two counts of criminal mischief and a resisting arrest with violence. He was
Starting point is 00:53:41 transported for further medical evaluation and treatment before being taken to Volusia County Jail. Wild. Okay. There's not nearly enough answers. Yeah. That is... Like, why...
Starting point is 00:53:57 Why's he got peppermint oil? Like, okay, grease? Maybe he's like, I want to slip through the windows, but like, why's he got peppermint oil on there? I feel like if you're slipping through the windows and you get cut, that's only going to make it hurt more. Yeah. Again, drugs, the obvious explanation.
Starting point is 00:54:16 But also, I need to know what's going on. We need to have a show where people interview criminals afterwards and say, what were you thinking? Yeah. We need to know. Because otherwise, they're just like, this guy's crazy, lock him up. Like, arrest him.
Starting point is 00:54:29 Like, we need to know why. There's got to be some sort of thing we can do where it's like, we'll cut a year off your sentence. Yeah. If you tell us why. Like, what were you, like, why the, what was the process here? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:41 We need to know. So this is like half these stories. I feel like that's what ends up being the thing. It's like, we need to know. This is like half these stories. I feel like that's what ends up being the thing. We have no context. We need to know the reason behind the actions. Even if they're just like, I'm high on drugs. Like, alright, well there it is. Right, but even when you're
Starting point is 00:54:56 high on drugs, there's got to be like, even if the answer is, I was high on drugs and it was what was around me, because I ran out of oil, so I figured peppermint oil would do just as good to finish the job. At least that's an explanation. Yeah, like at least something. Even if it is a crazy answer too, yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:12 At least we'd have it. Most of these stories, they report like and after dipping himself in animal fat and running through the town naked, he was arrested. No one explains why he did any of that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:26 Like, he might ask me, he might be like, it fends off the ghosts. Yeah. That's an answer. Yeah. That'd be an answer. We don't get that. Yeah. It's just sad reporting in modern times.
