Starting point is 00:00:00 Jake, this past week, I fell on the ground. Oh. Completely. Because of ice? On the ground. Yep. Oh. It was like an ice skating rink outside of my house.
Starting point is 00:00:12 And we were getting ready to go out of town for Texas. And I just ate it. Did people see you? I don't know if people saw me. Catherine heard me. That's even worse. She was like in the complete opposite side. Like she was in our bedroom. I was in like my front driveway. So you can imagine that.
Starting point is 00:00:30 And I was like walking underneath like little overhang by my garage where I didn't think the snow and the rain had hit as much. And so I kind of, I don't know, eased up a little bit on how careful I was and just ate it. She comes outside. Brad, did you drop some of your like woodworking equipment? Sounded really loud. Yeah, they were reporting an F5. They've never had one of those in Kansas.
Starting point is 00:00:56 Wait, is that a tornado? That's okay. You were close. Yeah, there's something about a Richter scale. What's that? There you go. Yeah, okay. Edit, edit.
Starting point is 00:01:10 We'll fix it post. I mean, it hurts so bad. What took the brunt of the fall? Would you say? My, my booty, my bottom. Okay. That's not bad though. Yeah. Yeah. I, but just like the, the feeling where you're like, Oh, I'm going to fall. I'm going to fall. And you, you're like, Oh, I can, I can save this. And then you just, you don't, it really, it stinks, dude. As an adult, you don't fall. Like you don't fall. You don't fall. No, no, no adults fall ever. Like very, very rarely. Spit just keep flying. Very, very rarely do adults fall. And when you do, it just is the worst. Did it put in perspective for you what football players go through? Yes. I thought about that or like basketball players. Cause they fall frequently. Every, like if you don't fall on a plate, something's wrong. You didn't try very hard. Yeah. You're,
Starting point is 00:01:53 yeah. You could have at least dough for that, dude. You know? Um, it was just like, oh man, it was no fun at all. And so, yeah, I was just like, oh, oh, you know, just like making all these noises. And then I also had the revelation that adults don't really cry out of pain. Is that true? Is that true to you? Yeah, that is true for me. I don't think that if I broke my arm right now that I would cry. Like I wouldn't cry like a kid would cry.
Starting point is 00:02:18 I might be like wincing, you know, and making some noise. Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow. Remember that grape stomping video? The grape stomper. Yeah, I was just talking about that yesterday Weird a sound if you haven't seen it was like one of the first really viral videos This girl just basically falls over while stomping on grapes, which makes it slightly funnier cuz like what is this? Well, it's also funny because they're like doing a competition, her and that other girl. She's trying to stomp faster. And then she goes, stop. And then she like does a couple of like cute, like extra stomps and then tries to get out and just eat.
Starting point is 00:02:51 She falls really hard, but you're expecting like a, or like some sort of like shriek and pain, but it's really like deep and weird. Like she turned into a 40 year, like 40 year long smoker all of a sudden. Yes. Just change. Oh no. Like somebody that just like frequents the casinos and plays blackjack at three in the morning.
Starting point is 00:03:11 No. Oh, not 21 again. Oh, oh, oh, the dealer always gets 21. So if you haven't seen the grape stopper video, go look that up. Yeah. But I want you to put in order for me. What? Gosh, that hurt. I heard when i was doing that what today hurts the most from your fall okay your butt sorry bumper
Starting point is 00:03:34 for children for hattie yeah bottom is what hattie says she's she's so southern okay Okay. She's Southern, Southern Bale. Okay. Bottom, your pride. And thirdly, your trust in your ability to walk on ice, which hurts the most. Bottom. A hundred percent. Really? Still hurts. Yeah. Oh, oh, today you're asking. Today, which hurts the most? Oh, I don't think any, any of them hurt, but your, your pride has not been affected by falling as an adult?
Starting point is 00:04:06 No, because... That would hurt me. It truly wasn't like... Wasn't your fault? No, no, it was, of course it was my fault. But I just, I'm not embarrassed about it because I know that I could have avoided it, which goes into the third thing.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Like I do the penguin walk. I'm very good at the ginger walk. We talked about last week. The short strides. Yeah, you know, I do the penguin walk, but then good at the ginger walk we talked about last week yeah the short strides yeah i you know i do the penguin walk but then i thought oh i'm now free i have good traction at this part i can so i can human walk yeah i did a longer stride did not work um did you like almost save it like yeah yes yes that's what that's what made it like more yeah hurtful maybe i guess that's the number two is the answer, I guess, but I'm not truly embarrassed by it. Uh, but that was what made
Starting point is 00:04:50 it worse is like, Oh, I, I was so close to not falling and instead I'm falling and it hurts right now. And it was already like cold outside and I'm like packing up my whole family's, you know, their suitcases and luggage and stuff, to be a good dad but having a pretty bad attitude about it anyway and then i just eat it and there's no fun that's too bad so i also injured myself a little bit this week did you currently trending for me is kicking okay two two stories for you one went to boxing class not to sound like broken record to always have a boxing story but uh-oh i went to a kick boxing class without knowing it a little taibo sure takes two to taibo yeah and it was fine around that thing sure i am a big well whatever but boxing for now uh yeah so it just it's still
Starting point is 00:05:42 pretty much a normal boxing class but every now and and then they're like, all right, let's go jab, cross, jab, cross, and big roundhouse. But they don't, like I've always said, they don't instruct you how to do any of this technique properly. So I'm just trying to kick this probably 75 pound weighted bag and have no idea where to make contact.
Starting point is 00:05:59 And so I feel like at multiple points, I broke my toes. So I was like, okay, don't go toes. Are you shoeless? No, maybe I should have been. No, I don't know. I don't know what the protocol is. No, I broke my toes. So I was like, okay, don't go toes. Are you shoeless? No, maybe I should have been. No, I don't know. I don't know what the protocol is. No, I was wearing shoes.
Starting point is 00:06:10 And I actually wasn't trying to kick it with my toes. That was just lack of pedidexterity, if you will. I don't know if that's the right word, but Dwight uses it in the office. Pedesterity. And so I would make contact with my toes. Did not feel good. So then I would try the shin bone. Did not feel good.
Starting point is 00:06:24 That's got to be the worst. I'm convinced there's no good part on my body to kick something hard with. What about like the arch? Isn't that what kickers kick the football with? Like underneath my foot? I didn't try that. Underneath your foot, there's an endless story. That is an inappropriate song. I'm not going to tell you. Okay tell you okay uh anyway what do you mean by the arch of my foot that to me it means underneath um yeah like the side yeah like so you'd be like half side half underneath i guess like the like passing a ball in soccer like you kick it from the inside how the kickers in football kick no i don't know i watched uh um currently training for me watching some tv show on espn plus called pe Peyton's Places with Peyton Manning,
Starting point is 00:07:08 where he goes all around the nation and just learns more about the history of football in the NFL. And yeah, he did one about kickers. And I think that that's how most of the kickers kick these days is like for the side of their foot. They used to kick straight footed, but now they do not because it's not as effective. And maybe it hurts their toes, like you're saying. If any NFL kickers are listening, like we'd love to have you guys on the podcast talk about it sure um harrison butker yeah harrison butker's a big one big listener listening uh so yeah that happened a long time ago i really can't remember anything else from that boxing class other than just feeling really out of place and i really did not like kicking the bag like during
Starting point is 00:07:47 During the freestyle portion She came over. It was like get all that anger out and then she even said on the microphone Oh, wow, you're not very angry. Are you? It's like yeah, I'm a pretty good life Yeah, that was kind of funny. Anyway, the second currently, or part of my currently training about kicking is I played in a soccer game this week. Yeah, you did. Which you also got invited to. Is it, was it outside?
Starting point is 00:08:14 No, it was indoor soccer. Oh, okay. I thought, okay. That would be crazy. Well, that's why I texted you. I was like, I'm not going to go play outside right now. In the cold. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Yeah, it was indoor soccer. I think I've kind of discussed this on the podcast before. Grew up playing a lot of sports, but none of them were soccer. My dad has even told me since then, he's like, yeah, you probably, he's like, I don't know if I messed up as a parent, but you probably would have been a pretty good soccer player. But I just didn't want to put you in it because I didn't want to grow up watching you play soccer. I have that same thought as a parent right now. I'm like, soccer is like the sport of the future.
Starting point is 00:08:50 Everyone, it's like the safest sport. I just don't want to go to a bunch of soccer games and care about soccer that much. I'm always trying to like, can we spice this up? Maybe get two balls. Maybe get a third goal. Maybe Chinese checkers this a little bit. There's like four teams, like three balls and a golden snitch. And then we just see what happens.
Starting point is 00:09:07 Whoa, that sounds more complicated than my thought, but I like it. Okay. What do you think? My thought was just a third goal, like you said. Okay. And every five minutes. You switch. Yes.
Starting point is 00:09:17 So it's like, like, like for five minutes, one team has to defend that goal. So it's like a power play all the time, basically, because there's two goal know there's that'd be pretty fun that is kind of cool anyway i show up to this uh soccer game with no previous experience playing soccer other than just my friends uh wanting me to play and did you wear those cool like adidas sambas shoes like the black ones yes i bought them years ago just waiting to get invited to come to Sondheim. Well, I didn't know if you were into alt rock back in the day or anything like that. Yes, I was. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:49 I would paint like my ring finger black. Uh-huh. Fingernail. Not the whole finger. Sure. Because that's racist. But just the fingernail was fine. Anyway, dude, everyone who is anyone was there.
Starting point is 00:10:01 We're talking. Butker. Butker. No. Okay. Maybe on the other field but uh garrett gibson who i've talked about the podcast shia labeef yeah yeah yeah um johnny from mexico who i sent to the moon when i went over the uh yeah speed bump on the highway yeah uh a guy named nolan who was a part of our ellen we boughtought a Limo episode when we came through Kansas City and we made the bat, we made a limo love and made a dating rally show. He was on there.
Starting point is 00:10:30 Hadn't seen him since he was at the soccer game. The who's who. The who's who of rec league, Kansas City indoor soccer. Yeah. And then we have, oh, the guy from, okay. Do you remember the team that we lost in basketball? Our league, the team that we lost to in the championship, there was like a set of three brothers and their dad came and watched them play. Oh yeah. One of the brothers was on my team. On your team? Yeah. Uh, which one? The biggest, the biggest one who was not as good. Who I think you got in the most beef with. Sorry, poultry. I, that's pretty common for me. The oldest one, you think like he's the oldest yeah yeah biggest one yeah i think he was i don't know yeah he had a mouth on him he like he like
Starting point is 00:11:10 threatened kevin he might oh yeah it was him yeah kevin threatner yes he was on my team and then there was another guy on my team who i didn't know beforehand but pretty early on into the game so i show up a little bit late so i come hot, straight from the snow onto the field. This is such a common theme for you. I come in hot. I just start boxing. Round one's great. I come in hot. Three goals in the first three minutes. I just enter the field and just shoot. Just the first time I get to the ball, I just shoot it. Didn't even know which goals are. I was just taking shots. Are we defending the two goals right now or is just one goal right now? Our power play, their power play. You let me know. And so pretty, like within the first two minutes, a guy on my team, this is in the middle of
Starting point is 00:11:48 the game going on. He goes, wait a second. Who? I know you. You DJed for Trey Kennedy. Which is a confusing sentence. DJed? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:58 It's like, you're close. You're pretty close. That's right. It's me. Jake Triplett on 105.9 The Trey. Yeah, that's right it's me jake triplet on 105.9 the tray yeah that's me and so i didn't really know what to say and also we're in the middle of a soccer game so i'm like oh yeah we'll talk about that later quarter cross it cross it tasty oscar and so it was cool he's super nice. And we talked afterwards and he came.
Starting point is 00:12:27 So he doesn't follow me or Trey. I don't think he's a big social media guy, but his wiser. Yeah. Can you imagine? He just came to the show that we did at Kansas city. So that's his only like experience with me or Trey. So that's what he meant by DJ Trey Kennedy. Cause that's what your role kind of was right at that one i guess i mean i would consider more of like an opener for him oh
Starting point is 00:12:50 no no no yeah you're right i was thinking the ones before you actually did the tour never mind i'm sorry you're right yeah you didn't yeah you literally did a stand-up yeah so i yeah uh but anyway it was fun trying to like figure that out because he was like yeah my wife's a big fan of trey so i bought her tickets and i don't even really know who he is, but I recognized you from it. Nice. And so that was kind of fun. And that was the show also where I think I talked on the podcast, the like PowerPoint or like the video didn't play. And I had to go up and stall for like five minutes.
Starting point is 00:13:18 And he had really good things to say about it, which made me feel good. It's like in my head, I think I did good. It was nice to hear Stranger Jeff affirm me on the soccer field as well. So yeah, it was really fun. And I was starting to think like, okay, I've been boxing. Maybe I'm in good shape. No. No.
Starting point is 00:13:35 For indoor even? Indoor is like way smaller field, right? Way smaller. Yeah. The game goes so fast though, because there's not really ever out of bounds. Like it just bounces off the wall. Yeah. That was a fun aspect of it. I'm trying to get into this geometry of it multiple times where i'm trying
Starting point is 00:13:49 to like there's a guy in front of me and also you have to understand like i you know when you first started playing basketball and you you can't really dribble with your left hand and especially can't dribble it like without looking down like you have to just look down at the ball to dribble that's what it's like the entire time i have the soccer ball like i I can't really look up to see where my teammates are because it's hard enough for me to even keep control of it. Yeah. However, that didn't stop me from trying to like pass it to myself off the wall.
Starting point is 00:14:12 That didn't go great. You know, like I'm trying to get around this guy. I don't have any kind of soccer skillset, but I'm like, well, I can hit it off the wall and then run around it. I'm faster than that guy.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Yeah. That was fun. Didn't work great. But anyway, you'll have to come next time because there's no expectations and it's a around it i'm faster than that guy maybe yeah that was fun uh didn't work great but anyway you have to come next time because there's no expectations and it's a rec league and uh garrett was a really good college soccer player so that's right he kind of carries the team yeah gary's team he carries um yeah you want to be the goalie and i thought it was like outside and I was the goalie for this huge, uh, huge goal. I was going to stand there and then get embarrassed about every, you know, 18 minutes or so.
Starting point is 00:14:51 And I was like, that sounds awful. I don't want to do that. But now that I know it's indoor, that that's, that's a game changer, which hindsight, I should have known that it's January, but I didn't know how hardcore they were. Yeah. No, people do softball leagues in January. Yeah. They're crazy. Yeah. What, you have anything currently training, Brad? Anything with kicking or non-kicking? No, the currently training in my life,
Starting point is 00:15:16 I've been reading a little bit. Oh, cool. I don't read very often at all. So a little bit is like kind of a thing. Good job. And so I've been specifically reading this book, Nick Offerman, who's Ron Swanson. Um, he's a woodworker. He's like, he's like genuinely Ron Swanson in real life. That's not that far off from who he is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:35 I mean, whatever, not politically or whatever, but I think, yeah, woodworking wise really into whiskey, blah, blah, blah. Um, so he has this woodworking book that I've just been reading a decent amount of recently and that's cool. Um, but yeah, the currently trending, I mean, that's currently trending, but the interesting thing that I want to talk about on the podcast, I hate to put my wife on blast too much. Um, and I think this is lighthearted enough. That's not really like, it turns out she can't read. I don't know how I never noticed this. She's like, Catherine, that's the, but she just, so, so one of the weird quirks about Catherine at night, like going to bed, she like, let's say she's done reading her book and she's on her phone and I'm trying to go to sleep and her bedside light
Starting point is 00:16:25 is still on like a lamp. Yeah. Her lamp is still on. And I think to myself, Oh, I could sleep a lot better if that lamp were off. So I asked her, Hey, do you mind turning off the lamp? And she does not like turning off the lamp yet. And to me, I'm like, you're just using your phone, which has a backlight on it why does it matter if your lamp is turned on or not it's just like i it does she doesn't have a good reason for it or anything and i don't know maybe you're on her side of this because i know that you don't turn off your light until like right before you go to bed right like you you're not really on your phone too much at night is that true i really just don't even go in my room until it's like bedtime
Starting point is 00:17:03 until it's like boom you're ready to go and then once i get to my bed i don't even go in my room until it's like bedtime. Until it's like, boom, you're ready to go. And then once I get to my bed, I don't go on my phone. I just like. Yeah. And I know you don't have experience sleeping with your wife, you know, next to her in bed. No, not really. So anyway, it's just an odd quirk that Catherine has where she's, she like has this irrationally strong opinion.
Starting point is 00:17:19 I think it is. Yeah. In ISO about like, I don't want to turn off my lamp yet. Is it? I have some theories she does sometimes but it's like reluctant and then i feel guilty about it and then i'm like i can't fall yeah just you know it's it's yeah just catch story two okay so on one end it would make sense if she was reading like one of those old kindles where it's not backlit and it's super dark then you would need a lamp but this is a cell phone phone. This is an led screen. Yeah. You can get very bright. Does she,
Starting point is 00:17:49 I mean, she's smart enough to know you can turn down the brightness all the way. Right. Cause I've been in dark rooms where it's like, Whoa, I hate how bright my phone is. This is really annoying. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I wonder what, what is the difference in just turning your brightness all the way down? I don't know. I bet there's somebody out there listening right now that's like, yeah, I get it. And if you do, please let us know. But to me, and she like does it. That's what I'm saying. Like she understands my thought process.
Starting point is 00:18:14 I think she's like annoyed every time. And I'm like, why is this annoying to you? Like, what is it? What am I doing? What am I asking that's so ridiculous? I don't know. I really, I don't know either. I'm trying to think of the possible scenarios.
Starting point is 00:18:29 Like if she's like, well, what if I need to go to the bathroom? They don't have to turn the lamp on and it would wake you up. First of all, no, you don't turn on the lamp. You turn on your flashlight or your phone. See, I can't even think of anything that makes sense. Here's the answer that she has not told me, but I bet is the answer is there's some study out there that somebody read an article on facebook one time that's like uh the face or the uh are you pregnant and not using lamps oh oh you're done um no the back light on your phone when it's dark it makes you not sleep as well or something well i told you
Starting point is 00:19:03 that like a week ago. Did you? Because you were saying you couldn't be a sleepy boy. Oh, yeah. There's a core. Yeah. So there's all sorts of correlations between your phone and sleeping and stuff. So maybe she thinks, well, if it's brighter and I'm looking at my phone, it doesn't affect my sleeping as much. If that ends up being the reason, I have a solution for you.
Starting point is 00:19:23 They make glasses, non-prescription glasses. Oh, don't get me started on the blue light glasses. What? I can't get you started on that? Go ahead. Go ahead. I mean, that's all I'm saying. If that is the issue, Catherine's worried about the blue light that she's intaking.
Starting point is 00:19:35 Is that the answer to those things? Yeah. Those things just seem like the best and worst. I like... Brad, I'm trying to get you to sleep more. I'm getting the lamp off for you. No, no, no, no, no. You want the lamp or not with the lamp?
Starting point is 00:19:46 I think it's a genius like placebo thing that like, like marketers are just like, Hey, use these glasses. Cause like, like the lights on your screens are like really bad. Like do you use a screen? Do you use a screen in your daily life? And they're like, yeah, well, you know, I'm a woodworker. So I don't have like a computer screen very often,
Starting point is 00:20:02 but I have a phone. You have a phone. Oh yeah, that's enough. Oh, that cancer in your pocket, three to four minutes a day is enough to just give you glaucoma. And it's like, it's like all these people. And then it's like, of course, I think a lot of people love glasses because they're like a fashion statement. So people are like, I have an excuse to buy these sweet looking glasses and pay. And they're only $40 to Oh, to keep cancer away? Sure. They're just, I don't know. I understand that I am not educated and it could be completely wrong in this blue light discussion.
Starting point is 00:20:31 But I remember seeing somebody I know that had bought these blue light glasses. And I was about to talk to Catherine and kind of make fun of them about it. And I was like, oh, by the way, did you see Phil in the blank just got those blue light glasses? Yeah, I've been asking her about those. Exactly. She's like, yes, I was thinking you should get some of those. I was like, me? Why?
Starting point is 00:20:49 You're the one with the lamp on. You're the one putting on the lamp. Brad just bonked his head. Guys, we've got some new shelves in here. And they look awesome. You'll see them on Instagram.com this week. Ghost Runners Podcast. Yes, that's the account.
Starting point is 00:21:01 You can't just go to Instagram.com because I doubt we're on the homepage. They might be. Someday. Explore. Who knows? Yeah. But yeah I doubt we're on the homepage. They might be someday. Explore. Who knows? Yeah. But yeah, be careful moving your head back. These shelves look awesome though.
Starting point is 00:21:10 We've got all sorts of decor in here. And feel free to, well, I was going to say send us stuff. We don't have a PO box yet. So feel free to create us a PO box near Overland Park, Kansas. And then begin sending us stuff. And then let us know what it is.
Starting point is 00:21:23 And then like that could be your contribution and somebody else can start sending stuff to that. Yes that yes oh that'd be fun if like five people do this we have five different po boxes that we have to check every time how fun would that be how do you boxes work do you have to go like physically to them or is it just like an alias that will then sit no i'm serious no it's not making fun of me i'm okay sorry keep going what is your theory what's it i want to hear more about the second theory. No, shut up. Because the first thing you said is the right answer. I want to hear more. That makes sense that that would be the right answer. First of all, the PO box literally being somewhere that you have to go and tell me more about this alias that we might have to have.
Starting point is 00:21:59 No, I think this is a great idea that post offices should do. So shut your mouth. I don't like that. You're laughing. I like the soccer idea a lot. so keep it going okay it's it's basically like um i can't i can't think of anything to compare it to but instead of saying we're going to send it to whatever one two eight nine four rigs street uh we send it to p.o box um one two four And P.O. Box 124. Just forwards it. Okay, the postman. Yeah, yeah, forwards it. The postman then sees,
Starting point is 00:22:29 oh, okay, post box 124. Sends it to your address directly. That's smart. It's like having a VPN for like your... There you go. I was trying to think, there's got to be examples out there. One of my top five skills,
Starting point is 00:22:42 I've had a casual resume that I put on there, is quick analogies. Okay. I think I'm gifted in that area. Yeah. So if you ever need one, text me. I would love to help out. Yeah. Like that one, VPN. Also, I love the blue light conversation because I feel like we're starting to get to the point where once an episode, we're just pretty off about things. Last week, it was the dog breeding thing. We were so convinced, like, I'll get a male dog. You get a female dog female dog it'll be easy i had so many people be like yeah that's not how it works at all like people texting me so apparently and i don't understand this either so i'll probably come across pretty ignorant and stupid but female dogs are only in heat like twice a year okay
Starting point is 00:23:21 so well how yeah that's fine oh i didn't oh i didn't know that and well it's just like a woman i mean you can't you can't get a woman pregnant any day of the month do you know that i know about that okay ovulation yeah that's all we're gonna say oh i know about that oh yeah but i was just my idea right yeah but that's still i mean theoretically let's whatever either way we were off a little bit about dog breeding so we're probably way off about that because i'm kind of with you like yeah maybe this is just people trying to like scare market us into buying things we don't actually need i just think whatever this is such a micro analysis but like like, I think we're
Starting point is 00:24:06 in this generation right now where scare, like scare mongering, fear mongering marketing is like so prevalent. I don't think that they're all inaccurate. Like I think that maybe blue light's a real thing. Yeah. And maybe like there's a real issue with us and like watching our screens too much is going to mess up our eyes. But I think there's lots of products out there that people are like, oh, I got to get this and this and I can't eat this kind of food and I can't, I can't have anything that has this kind of fat in it and I can't do this and I have to have all my probiotics. And like, it's like this, it's like all these, and it's, it's not like it's just our generation. I think it's been like that for lots of years, but I feel like with the wealth of access that we have to all these
Starting point is 00:24:45 social media and like all these different ways of promoting these new products, it's just gone rampant. It's easy to read a couple of articles and feel convinced that you need something like, yes. Or yeah. Or even like, or even just like half of one article. That's where that all takes me. Or even like a headline. Oh gosh. Yeah. You see that thing in Missouri, Missouri has, yeah. Phones. Coronavirus is in Missouri. We're moving to Kansas. iPhone 11s see that thing in Missouri? Missouri has, yeah. Phones. Coronavirus is in Missouri. We're moving to Kansas. iPhone 11s have GMOs in them. Yeah. Don't get me started on GMOs, man. I learned enough about GMOs from my friends who are big ag people. GMOs are not bad, guys. Write it down.
Starting point is 00:25:17 Okay. People are going to disagree. I'll write it down. GMOs, not bad. Yeah. I feel like pretty often you hear like, this is going to be the new smoking. Like how smoking, we didn't know it was bad. Like sitting is the new smoking is what I heard. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:31 So sitting, soda pop. We should stay up. We should stay real quick. So sitting, soda, cell phones. I just thought of something else too. Yeah. All the time you hear about, or they, yeah, like GMOs and stuff like that. Or like, this is the, gonna be the new smoking that we're going to be so surprised 20 years
Starting point is 00:25:48 from now that people were doing this so commonly. I have a theory about our thumbs. Have I talked about that on the podcast? I'll say it again. I think there is a chance that when our generation, especially the younger generation, gets to be in our 60s and 70s, all sorts of thumb problems. No generation of people, mainly starting with you and I's generation, no generation of people have ever used their thumbs so much and in a unique way of talking about texting than our generation has. So I kind of this theory that like-
Starting point is 00:26:14 That's a bold statement, or that's a broad statement that I don't know if I agree with, but definitely in the way that you're talking about with texting. What do you mean? I mean that back in the day, there was a lot more manual labor than there is today. Yeah, but that's like with all your fingers. I'm saying like no, like with strictly just your thumbs. I don't think there's ever been anything, any kind of like technology or anything that has like involved your thumbs so much.
Starting point is 00:26:35 Like every single day, we use our thumbs at a crazy amount compared to any other generation in history. That's interesting. So I just think there could be something in the future that like, oh, we all have thumb issues. We got to change the way we text. Interesting. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:26:51 It's just one of those dumb things. I have all sorts of theories about stuff that is mainly stupid. I talked about my theory about you get your bladder really full. Like you haven't gone pee all day and you've just been drinking water and you're like, I'm going to have a bladder infection. Like it is about to burst. I cannot wait any longer. But even when you get to that point, then you start chugging more water until you really, really can't hold it. And then you finally start peeing. My theory is as you start peeing, could the water you're currently drinking get to your bladder in time to where you, the flow
Starting point is 00:27:23 never stops. So when you finish that bottle of water, then you start drinking another one into where you just pee forever. What are you talking about? Do you know what I'm saying? Like theoretically, how fast does water get to your bladder? Not that fast. Is it 90 seconds? No. It's longer? Yeah. How long? Don't know. I think it would be fun. I think you could die. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:46 You ever hear about hold your Wii for a Wii? Hold your pee pee. Hold your potty for a Wii. It was called. What are you saying? It was a promotional thing. Is this for our Taiwanese listeners? You doing a little segment on them?
Starting point is 00:27:59 Hold your Wii for a Wii. No, it was back when the Nintendo Wii came out and you had to drink a gallon of water and then you had to hold your urine. Like you, you, you like had to refuse to go to the bathroom and the person that refused to go to the bathroom the longest would win a Nintendo Wii. Who did this? I'm pretty sure somebody died because they held their urine too long. Huh? Hold your Wii for a week. Never heard about this. Did you compete? No, I did not. Good for you, dude.
Starting point is 00:28:28 It's for your long-term health. Oh, one other theory of mine that I just thought of. So when we dream, sometimes our real life... These are so random. These are like, they're not correlated at all. I'm surprised I can even remember them because whatever. You know, sometimes when you dream dream your subconscious gets meshed with like what's really happening in real life like your alarm sound like makes its way like your
Starting point is 00:28:50 alarm going off in real life on your phone finds a way into your dream where like someone's using that sound through a megaphone or something you know i'm saying okay is that not happening i'll accept that i don't i can't think of specific times but i'm sure yeah yes i'm sure there's random things in the dream it's like like, how'd that get there? But yes. Okay. Well, maybe I'm not explaining it well enough. Like as something is happening in real life, like someone is like nudging you to wake you up,
Starting point is 00:29:11 then your dream, like something's starting to happen to you where you're getting pushed or whatever. I think it's a pretty common thing that people have experienced at least once. My theory is you take someone who is blind and is fluent in Braille and you get them like within their first like, know 10 minutes or 15 minutes of sleeping like when dreaming is starting to happen i think maybe i'm wrong about that but whenever you're like most likely to dream then you take their finger and you read them essentially like a short story in braille so my theory is that are they subconsciously intelligent enough because they're fluent in it to pick up on what their finger is reading and you can manipulate their
Starting point is 00:29:48 dreams? No, I don't know. Why do you say no? Why are you so negative about this thing that we have no idea about? No, that's great. Great idea. I'm not saying it's an amazing idea, but at least entertain it with me. Sorry. That's just, that's just, first of all, I don't know how you think. Isn't that fascinating? Like that we could be manipulating people's dreams if they can read Braille. Maybe. Can you think about like, are we manipulating people's dreams that can like listen to music while they're, you know, doing something like, is that, is that manipulate somebody's dream?
Starting point is 00:30:22 Like, yeah, but all that would be is just like maybe some background music in the dream. Like I'm thinking like you could make this person be the main character in whatever kind of dream you want to give them. Like you can really, really manipulate it compared to just nudging them or just playing a sound. Inception 2. Sure. Coming out in November. Yeah, I don't know. I should talk to.
Starting point is 00:30:40 Talk to Leo, Ellen Page. DiCaprio? Yeah. Okay, gotcha. I was thinking like a psychologist or like a neuroscientist well sure han zimmer also he's a music composer um yeah well but he did inception so he knows about inception i mean he just composes the music but yeah i'll get in touch with him uh anyway we need to pause real quick for our sponsors of this episode.

It's wearing a jacket you'll be taking off because fall doesn't want you feeling cold all the time.
Starting point is 00:32:40 No, sometimes it wants you feeling way too hot. Oh, and that jacket you wore? Now it's draped on your elbow, overheating your arm. While you cool off with your Starbucks vanilla sweet cream cold brew and the rich Parmesan, Monterey, and cheddar of the new three cheese and egg sandwich. That's the feeling of fall. And it's only at Starbucks. Thank you for listening to that. I don't know what else to say. So I posted about my net worth on Instagram because there's like one of my friends brought it to my kitchen like look how much you're worth and I found this article there's a bunch of different ones they're all wrong obviously but I posted on Instagram that was worth 14 million dollars and then like the very next, I was in a video with Trey. So I get tagged in it, got like a thousand new followers. And my most recent post is that I'm worth $14 million.
Starting point is 00:33:33 A lot of people not totally getting the joke. Right. DMs were got a little weird, like so many people like saying how much they need the money, like the sob story about how they need some of my money. Some people telling me that I shouldn't be bra story about how they need some of my money. Some people telling me that I shouldn't be bragging about it. Got all sorts of things. So lesson learned. If you guys are out there and you're about to get tagged to Trey Kinney's video, don't put up something like that. Polish it up. Yeah. Beforehand. Yeah. It was. And then the very next day I finally did formal Friday.
Starting point is 00:34:02 Yeah. And I think people really started to think I was worth $14 million. And that Navy suit felt good. I actually didn't get to go. You did look good. I didn't have a chance to go home in the middle of the day. So I went to a friend's birthday dinner in a suit. Didn't really want to be there in a suit because everyone was dressed pretty casually. Well, it is one thing if it's like, why are you in a suit? Oh, I had a big presentation at work today.
Starting point is 00:34:22 You have no reason to be in a suit. I had to tell seven different groups of people. Oh, I made a New Year at work today. You have no reason to be in a suit. I had to tell seven different groups of people. Oh, I made a New Year's resolution to wear more suits. So I put one on this morning and I didn't have time to go home, which is kind of weird. Oh, okay. All right. Why your resolution to wear more suits? Just because.
Starting point is 00:34:41 Just because I like suits. Because it sounded fun. It's just nice suits and and I like Seuss. Yeah. And then a bunch of people were like, oh, so you've seen How I Met Your Mother? And I'd say, no, I don't know what that means. But I haven't. Suit up, man.
Starting point is 00:34:54 But I've met, what's his name? He has three names. NPH. Neil Patrick Harris. Yes. Do you know that I met him one time? Uh, no. Juggled with him in Central Park, New York City.
Starting point is 00:35:03 Juggled? We made a video. With Jugglin' Josh? Mm-hmm. Or with, yeah, your other juggling friends. Good to clarify. Good to clarify. No, it was with Jugglin' Josh.
Starting point is 00:35:13 Really? Yeah. He's a juggler, huh? Yeah, big time. Old Doogie Howser. Yeah, he is actually really good. He can like juggle five balls. He, yeah, I did watch How I Met Your Mother.
Starting point is 00:35:23 Big fan of the show. Gotcha. And is very, very talented on that show. Like does very many funny things. Like lots of different skills that he displays in that show. And one, just from an acting standpoint, from what I know about the show, you know Patrick Harris, very gay man. Yes.
Starting point is 00:35:40 In a show very much like women. Would never know. Yeah, absolutely. So that right there there good for you sure i think i would not be great playing a gay man on tv i think it's um well you know i don't know i think it's almost weirder uh eric stone street plays a gay man oh on modern family and he's not which is also very interesting because i just think to myself because he's a k-state alum and a case like a chiefs and royals fan every time i see him i just forget that he's not gay like you see him in public and you go to slap his butt you're like
Starting point is 00:36:09 oh wait he's not gay i can't slap his butt you know that you've always known that let's go get a burger one of the podcasts that i listened to they had this whole bit one time which is really funny because they're watching some movie where it's just like hyper masculine, like super testosterone, like looking and sounding guy had to play a gay guy in a movie. And I guess he just did a terrible job. And so they were making fun of that. I'm just like, hey, who in here is gay, huh? Who else likes dudes? Because I like me some man meat.
Starting point is 00:36:41 Yeah, I love dudes. Anyway, it's pretty funny. So yeah, all that to say, guys, I am, I am worth so much money and it's only going up. Found a new article that said it was worth $55 million. So things are happening fast. Um, just send me your Venmo and I'll definitely give you money. Well, followers are, you know, intangible. Like you don't know how much a follower is going to be worth someday. It's kind of like Bitcoin. And so that's what I've heard. That's what I've been hearing on the interwebs. Do you know that I've invested in Bitcoin? Have you invested in followers with a Z? Uh, is that a company? No, I have not invested in the company followers. I didn't know that you invested in Bitcoin. Are you still invested?
Starting point is 00:37:24 Yeah. It's gone up and down. Yeah, it's pretty volatile. And I really didn't even, I probably shouldn't have put the amount of money I put in. It was just like, I wanted to be a part of something. I remember it was a pretty substantial, like it was more than I was, like I was kind of surprised. Like, oh, you must be worth $14 million.
Starting point is 00:37:38 It was just like, it sounded fun to be a part of, which is probably a silly reason to invest. It's the only investment I've ever made. Like, this is cool. This is fun. No IRA, but I got Bitcoin. Yeah, I'm just hoping it blows up. So we'll see.
Starting point is 00:37:53 Speaking of volatile, I, unfortunately, maybe fortunately, oh, I think I did mention this on the last episode of the podcast. I watched my first full episode of The Bachelor this past Monday. Oh, you definitely mentioned it. Did I? Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Because I also, I went on Trey's podcast this week and we talked about The Bachelor. So
Starting point is 00:38:10 having trouble remembering who knows what. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're in two relationships. What's that old quote about the wolf who chases two geese will go hungry? Mm-hmm. The wolf, no, it's the goose who wolfs it down too quickly will get hungry again soon. And he becomes a silly goose. Yep. Proverbs 419. Yep. Look it up.
Starting point is 00:38:39 419A. You don't want to look up B. It won't make sense. Okay. you don't want to be something way different it won't make sense okay anyway watch the bachelor this week and i think it's my last time watching it is it there's nothing i mean the main thing driving me to watch it is the followers being like love the bachelor recap you got to do more of it truly truly because there's nothing in me that's like i want to see what happens next week like i've been watching you been watching other shows and stuff and like that gets me coming back but not the bachelor so much i'm like really looking into your eyes right now to see if i believe you i think i do okay thank you yeah
Starting point is 00:39:13 at first i was like no way you're enjoying this i i really don't think i am that much but here's my recap real quick peter peter the pilot peter peter pilot pickle pickles peppers also from the bible oh ponches ponches peter yes oh yeah yeah still pickled peppers okay either one you're talking about okay he finally kissed a black girl last monday he finally finally kissed a black girl uh he was hangered up on her for a while i'm not gonna do any more of those no no no okay come on no no no no and it happened to be on mlk day so i was like good for you nice check twitter no one else was having that same commentary i was like can we not give a little love for mlk and whatever this girl's name is no No. I was happy for him though. Okay. Good for him.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Trying to think of any airplane words as I give my recap. No, you're fine. I'll try to think of them for you. Okay. Which I can't think of anything else but pretzels right now on the airplane. Surely there's more to do with, oh, wing. That's what I was trying to think. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:19 I was trying to think of wing. Like he really winged it. Yeah. So one girl pronounced the word lingerie lingerie lingerie also was surprised that no one else was talking about that on twitter she just said that she's winged it she's yeah she just linged it just linged it lingerie you're kidding lingerie that's that's your show that you're watching right now you're like i'm watching this this is good like this is the show that people swear by.
Starting point is 00:40:46 He, at one point, Peter Pilot, told, I would say, between six to eight girls individually in one-on-one sessions, there's just something about you. There's something special about you. That specific phrase? Yeah. Like, said it the exact same way. Just so many different girls. And I was like like you know this is
Starting point is 00:41:05 going on tv right like you understand how this could possibly make you look yeah he was fine with it i guess i haven't talked to him personally about it but that seemed crazy to me that he willingly being recorded said the same thing to like six different women yeah uh that's that's really gonna take off nice uh the well do you have more well yeah like how are you gonna feel if you're the girl that wins and you look back on the season and you watch oh i'm about to sneeze i think no no it's coming back nope it's back it's gone it's gone okay um how are you gonna feel if you're looking back and you see not only you see this whole season of him kissing other girls that's bad enough oh Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:45 But also see him saying all these very special, but not really special things about all these girls. That can't feel good. Using the exact same line on all these girls. Or even just like. You're going to be like, that's my man. I'm so glad he chose me. Like, I've never seen. Those poor other girls.
Starting point is 00:41:59 The final few episodes. I don't know what they look like. But I would guess, based on what I've seen of the show, that I bet he tells the multiple girls he loves them. I would guess when it gets to the final two or three. Maybe he says that I don't know about every season, but I'm sure yeah sure it's happened before and that cannot feel good being the girl He chose and like oh so a week before you chose me you told another girl you loved her days before hours Who knows? Yeah three An airplane thing three Three flights ago.
Starting point is 00:42:25 Three knots. That's close enough. They tied three knots. There you go. If he was a sailor. Oh yeah. That's sorry. That's okay.
Starting point is 00:42:33 That's naval. Uh, yeah, whatever. There was a, something happened. It's a previous episode that I haven't seen where one girl stole another girl's champagne. I talked about this in episode 37, where I was like, apparently I'm being called a bully. And the other girl's like, you should talk to her. And then she's like, no, I can't. That wouldn't solve anything. Well, they finally talked this episode. And when I say unproductive, I mean it to the fullest degree.
Starting point is 00:42:57 One girl's just like, so I heard you calling me a bully. She's like, yeah, I said that. And she's like, I just don't know why you would say those hateful words so this girl's hateful and she was like well the reason i called you that is because you called me a bleep bleep a mother bleep and bleep to my face and behind my back so that's why i called out she's like i just don't think you're using that word properly bullying is serious that is that is not bullying what i was doing to you that is not bullying, what I was doing to you. That is not bullying. So that's going nowhere. Really just infuriating to watch. But then they bring up this whole incident that started it. And she's like, I just don't understand why I would have never thought.
Starting point is 00:43:36 I liked you at first. I would have never thought you were a champagne stealer. The other girl just totally plays into it, starts crying. I am not a champagne stealer. That was a sentence that she said.. I am not a champagne stealer. That was a sentence that she said. I am so not a champagne stealer. You are a champagne stealer. That's what sent her over the edge is when she started crying.
Starting point is 00:43:53 No. I was like, this is not real. I feel like they got thrown a couple extra thousand dollars. Like, hey, if you just play into this stupid thing that we set up from the beginning to get her to actually take the champagne. We'll like move you to the next round if you play into the champagne like segment. So that was unbelievable. And I'm trying to think. Only other thing I can think of.
Starting point is 00:44:16 There's a girl named Alaya. I thought her name was Alaya at first, which made sense because she was Alaya to everybody. The pen is royal blue. So, oh, there's a girl. I don't know her name, but I just keep calling her Rihanna because she's mixed and looks a lot like Rihanna. Oh, na, na. What's her name? Yeah, nice. Nice, Brad. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:38 Oh, man. I feel it. We got the shelves in here. So, call us. Call you Shelvis Presley. Oh, yeah. Because you're a woman. Oh, yeah. Shaking them hips.
Starting point is 00:44:49 Santa and his shelves. What did you say? Santa and his shelves. Oh, it's Santa and his shelves. So Rihanna, at one point in the show, just out of nowhere, just owns Alea. Just stands up out of nowhere, which totally just, you know, put herself in the power position, stands up looking over her. So smug, it just, just so smug. So arrogant. Just looks down at her and it's like, Hey, I've been noticing some things
Starting point is 00:45:15 about you. And here's the deal. I know that you've been doing pageants for the last like eight years of your life. And I think because of that, you know, how to put on for a camera, you know, how to be a better version of yourself than, you know how to put on for a camera. You know how to be a better version of yourself than you actually are. I put on for my camera, on, on for my camera. I put on for my camera, on, on for my camera. Then all the other black girls started like, kind of doing that. That was by far the coolest part when they like went into that. Yeah. When they just did like, yeah, flash mob. Yeah. I was like, wow, did they plan this they plan this chris harrison got in on it yeah he said well that was the big issue is we'll be right back after this commercial break after this flash mob yeah they started like throwing
Starting point is 00:45:52 champagne in the air and then kelsey got upset she's like that's my champagne you can't use it for this flash mob it was crazy dude okay no but actually it's getting my eyes oh oh oh ow ow in my eyes this podcast is just off the rails dude maybe that's why the bachelor's so great it just creates all this but she's just like and everything she's saying makes sense like you've lived this pageant life i think that's all you know all you know is to be this kind of fake prim proper girl and you're just not even being your real self not to any of us especially not to peter not on the cameras yeah she's making this good point and alea doesn't have much to say about that she's just kind of gets teary-eyed so then it creates this whole thing where peter's trying to figure out yo is rihanna telling the truth yeah alea comes to her
Starting point is 00:46:40 to him and it's like that's not true i'm'm being so real. What you see is what you get. This is real. This is me. Yeah. A great showman. Yeah. Isn't that a song? Oh, that's not how it goes.
Starting point is 00:46:57 This is me. Oh, Leia. So that was the second flash mob they did, which is awesome. Give me Peter. I was like, how many more flash mobs are there going to be? This is amazing. So that happens. And then.
Starting point is 00:47:15 This show does sound good. It's crazy, dude. I don't know why you're stopping. And so Peter's like, okay, I believe you. And she's like, I've never. She talks to the camera. That went amazing. I've never, she talks to the camera. That went amazing. I've never felt better.
Starting point is 00:47:27 And so then Peter goes and talks to like all, like five different other girls. He's like, hey, what's this with Alea? Is that real or is that fake? And they're all like, oh no, she's fake. We don't trust her. We don't like her. I just feel like she's got something special.
Starting point is 00:47:41 Right? Is that what he said? No, all the other, yeah. All the other girls are just not defending her at all. Like he's trying to do his due diligence to like let's see if this is true or not all the other girls do not back her up and it still shows he's like i just don't know what to do it's just like every other girl is telling you how awful she is and you're just like i just don't know i don't know how else i could ever find out if she's being real it's like maybe trust every other person and And it was just,
Starting point is 00:48:06 there's just too many parts of the show that are just unrealistic and that I don't think I'm going to keep watching it. If there was like maybe one more flash mob, I would have been in. Yeah, like one more flash mob or maybe like a Harlem Shake or something like that. But there's nothing like that. I just, obviously I'm not going to because I'm married,
Starting point is 00:48:24 but I think it'd be kind of fun to like, see how uninteresting I can make that show. Like if you just bother the producers to death, be like, I'm just going to have like, I'm just going to respect the heck out of these girls. I'm not even going to like, I'm going to hug them. I'll give them a hug whenever we're done hanging out. That's all I'll do.
Starting point is 00:48:43 And just asking lots of questions, give him compliments. Even the ones I send home, I'm going to talk and clearly communicate that I still respect him as a woman, you know, just like, and, you know, just like make it as drama free as possible. It's very hard for me not to put myself in the shoes
Starting point is 00:48:58 of Peter the whole time. And yeah, but I think those like casting directors and the story producers are just so smart like they know exactly what they're doing they're getting the exact people who are like still normal but like able to be like almost not manipulated but able to be swayed by like reality tv and cameras in a way that like makes them kind of not act like themselves that's my theory oh yeah and they're being recorded 24 7 yeah so they're gonna be able to find ways anyway no more bachelor but no more no more bachelor no more s'mores so anyway i've
Starting point is 00:49:34 talked a lot what do you you got anything what's going on dude um should we make some super bowl predictions yeah we should because i don't have much that i don't have much going on that okay that's fine interesting um yeah let's make some super bowl predictions let's talk about it first let's give a quick recap chiefs are going super bowl versus the 49ers chiefs main strength say it with me their offense oh okay i didn't totally understand the sentence he said before that chiefs greatest strength greatest strength is their offense this is their greatest strength 49ers greatest strength. Their defense. It's the classic unstoppable force meets a movable object. Is that right? Yeah. Okay. Okay. I didn't know if I got those. Yeah. Yeah. So I think it's going to be very fun. We watched or I watched film of the
Starting point is 00:50:20 last year that they played each other. Oh yeah. We torched them. We killed them. We scored 35 points in the first half. Do you realize that? I do now. I did not realize that until I watched the replay. Granted, their quarterback was injured. I don't think he got injured until like the third quarter maybe. So it was a little bit of an asterisk.
Starting point is 00:50:37 Like we're not playing the exact same team, obviously. We're not the exact same team either. But I think that we're going to score some points in this game. I heard the over-under is at like 51 points. I'm not a betting man for sports, but if I were, I would bet the over for sure on that, first of all. I think there's going to be at least 60 points scored total. Okay. Let's hear a point prediction from you. Okay. Point prediction total or just a score?
Starting point is 00:51:03 Like the score, I guess. Chiefs are going to score. They're going to get theirs. They're going to get 45 points. Oh. And the, uh, 49ers are going to get, they're going to do all right as well. They're going to get 31, 45, 31 Chiefs. Wow.
Starting point is 00:51:21 Chiefs are going to win the freaking Superbowl, dude. What are we even going to do? How do we even celebrate that as a fan? What do you do? I've already, I've thought, I've thought about it a little bit. What have you you thought? Here's what here's what I thought. We definitely make a video at that parade. Oh my god. I don't know why that just now dawned on me. We do we do live podcasts. No! At the parade. Vlogcast. On a float with Patrick Mahomes! Oh! And we have a parody. I'm on a float. I'm on a float, yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:51 It's going slow, yeah. Yeah, we do that. I'm with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, yeah. Nice, yeah. No, but I've thought about it. So our dear friend Peter, who we've talked about on the podcast before. Peter Pilot. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:04 Peter, youth pastor, has to watch the Super Bowl, has to host a Super Bowl party. Poor Peter. Much to his chagrin. Pretty much all season long has not been able to watch anything with us because he has youth group on Sundays. I just felt so bad for him, especially these playoff games. He's watching it with middle schoolers. Oh, man. At least they've been winning because, yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:21 Yeah. Because he is definitely as big of a fan as we are. Yeah. It's not like he's a lower tier and so he just doesn't make it work like no he would do anything to be with us watching this game so my first plan is to drive his job yeah well we'll see next season's a long ways away you know um my first plan is once we win to drive and pick up peter okay okay because i i want to experience at least some of it with peter that's nice um for his sake and mine uh selfishly and then we drive wherever downtown westport i don't care like wherever we can the plaza i'm so happy just
Starting point is 00:53:03 thinking about it like i'm just honking my horn consistently rolling down the window you know just saying the most obvious phrases like chiefs one super ball you know like it's awesome like stuff like that those are fun phrases oh yeah and they're they're true and um and then we end the night by taking all the collective money that we have, $14,003,000, probably, and putting it all on red roulette for the Chiefs. What a way to end the night. Yeah. Do you imagine a casino after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl?
Starting point is 00:53:39 It's going to be hard to even bet on red because everyone else will be there doing it. Oh, yeah. It was your chips. It was my chips. We all got chips on red. Well, well yeah no one's betting on black ideally the super bowl mvp will be a chiefs player whose number is red at the roulette table oh baby unfortunately patrick mahomes is black let's see if uh number 32 is because matthew i can see him or maybe it's probably gonna be an offensive player let's see Is it just even and odd numbers? Like are even numbers red? No, it's kind of random.
Starting point is 00:54:06 Okay. Just Google roulette wheel. Travis Kelsey's 87. They don't go up. They don't go up. Tyree Kill's 10. Let's see. Oh, come on.
Starting point is 00:54:17 Just give me a chart. Just Google roulette wheel. Hey. I'm going to do this. I'm going to beat you there. All right, bud. Number 10 is black. That's Tyree Kill. school like roulette wheel hey i'm gonna do this i'm gonna beat you there all right but number 10 is black that's tyree kill um what's damian williams 32 no that's uh tyra matthew he's 26 oh tyra matthew 32 red oh um zip number 14 sammy watkins red red 14 for all the marvels baby
Starting point is 00:54:46 yes no way that's amazing all right so we need or darwin thompson who you also like irrational love for darwin okay so mainly sammy watkins or tyron matthew who's our isn't he 23 no he's 20 no let's be honest. Our main two options are Sammy Watkins and Tyron Matthew, who are definitely not our top three options if you were a betting man, but that's okay. If they are Super Bowl MVPs. Tyron Matthew could absolutely be a Super Bowl MVP. Yeah, but I doubt he's like in Vegas.
Starting point is 00:55:17 I doubt he's one of the top like three even for the Chiefs to be Super Bowl MVP. I just think offense, it's so much easier to get it as an offensive player. He would have to like do two interceptions, one of them being a touchdown or something like that. And like play one snap as quarterback and throw a touchdown pass probably. He would have to do a lot. Either way, that sounds so fun. Yeah. Okay. Great. Oh, I hope they win. They're not going to lose. Mark my words. I'm not superstitious. I'm telling you right now, they are winning the Superbowl. That prediction 45 31 you so i had some thoughts earlier about what my serial prediction was going to be because almost everyone is saying yeah there's gonna be some points scored but
Starting point is 00:55:55 it's gonna be a close game i think most predictions you see either by friends or experts are like you know 31 28 35 31 or whatever and you kind of took a little thunder away from my prediction. Because my end was going to be, no, it's okay. Chiefs by three touchdowns. It's bold. I love it. But why not? Right.
Starting point is 00:56:12 Why not? Why not us? Why not? Here's the deal. So specifically, just before I forget, what did you say? 45? 31. So two touchdowns, 45, 31.
Starting point is 00:56:22 I'll say 38 Chiefs. Love it. 17 49ers. 17. Yeah. Chiefs are shutting them down. Yeah. 21-point spread.
Starting point is 00:56:32 I love it. Well, I mean, how many points do you know, like the point differentials for the first two wins of the playoffs for the Chiefs? No. I know it was over 20 for the first one. And it was, I don't know what it was. 11 for the second one, I think. Okay. 35-24. Both those was, I don't know what it was. 11 for the second one, I think. Okay.
Starting point is 00:56:46 35, 24. Both those games, they started off very poorly. They started losing by 24, then losing by 10. And won both games by 10. Right. So if in theory, which this is another prediction of mine. In theory, they start off very well, which I think they will. Then, yeah, our predictions can absolutely come right.
Starting point is 00:57:05 True. So fun. Because I don't think they're going to let off our predictions can absolutely come right. Oh, so fun. Cause I don't think they're going to let off the gas pedal at all. They shouldn't gas pedal, gas pedal, cheese, Superbowl, cheese,
Starting point is 00:57:12 double one other bold prediction, which I really hope happens. And then we could stop talking about the cheese for you guys. But you know, my home has had a few like crazy plays in a short career. If you guys don't know one time, a few, yeah. Well, so many crazy, he don't know one time a few yeah well so many crazy he's only had two seasons and he's had so many crazy things happen one time he threw a no
Starting point is 00:57:31 look pass in a football game this is unheard of a third down and a big crucial play to playing the ravens third down play like i've never no one's ever seen or heard of a quarterback doing that like in basketball happens pretty often but he threw a no-look pass to a receiver. Also last season, he was like getting chased down by one of the best defensive ends in football and is running to his left and puts the ball in his left hand and then throws it left-handed and completes a pass. For like six yards,
Starting point is 00:57:55 like a decently long throw for your offhand. So he's had a couple of plays like that, that are like, you know, iconic Mahomes in a short career. My prediction is he makes one of those again. I don't know what, but something where it's like, we've never seen a quarterback do this. I hope so badly that he does it on like the biggest stage.
Starting point is 00:58:11 I love it. That'd be so sick. I had the thought earlier this week that he was going to pull out the no look pass again. Because you remember he did it in their very first week this week and he totally missed Travis Kelsey. And yeah, so he hasn't done it since. I do remember that. He overthrew him in the end zone a little bit.
Starting point is 00:58:27 In the preseason, he was working on a back or behind the back pass. Did you ever see that video? No. It was awesome. How far can he throw it? The video was like not very far. It was like five yards. Oh, I'm sure he could throw it so much further than that.
Starting point is 00:58:42 Oh, yeah. I just, that was the video. Okay video okay well edit it to make it longer but it was really cool because he like did like some misdirection as he threw it i forget exactly how it worked but it was like it was pretty sweet i want to find that video let's put it on our story this week so everyone can see it because i want to see it so bad it's really cool like he's played he's played two full seasons in the nfl and he's got more highlight film footage than almost anybody ever. Like, he's so good, dude. He's so good.
Starting point is 00:59:10 He's going to be the greatest NFL player ever. And he's on our team. I genuinely believe it. It's so awesome. Yes, it's nuts. This is not even like fake enthusiasm. No. I'm this excited about him.
Starting point is 00:59:19 Yes. A grown man who's 24 years old. It's amazing. Oh, I can't wait. I could post so many videos, but I won't. One of my friends last week called me insufferable. Oh, really? Yeah, he was a Titans fan, quote unquote.
Starting point is 00:59:36 And I don't think I was being super negative. And he's a listener of the podcast, so he can defend himself. But I don't think I was being like super negative or super annoying. I was just excited for my team and he he later took it back he's like okay you weren't sufferable i was just frustrated but i have so many photos that i've saved on my phone since like on twitter that i think are awesome i could post so many just of him of yeah just cool shots of like or like cool like graphics that people have made or like, like I could post 10 pictures a day, every day leading up to this.
Starting point is 01:00:09 You have like a folder in your phone called like Patrick with a little heart emoji. It's not just Patrick. It's like Chris Jones is in there. It's higher Matthew. Like there's one where, where Andy Reid,
Starting point is 01:00:17 did you hear what he said? What he did after the game was over. He said, I had a cheeseburger and went to bed. I have a picture of Andy Reid and then the quote underneath it. I had a cheeseburger and went to bed. Save that picture because I thought that was awesome. That's funny. That's my life motto. Anyway, lots of photos we could show, but we will start with the backwards pass and go from there. Super Bowl Sunday. Can't
Starting point is 01:00:38 wait for it. It's going to be awesome. Yeah. Let us know how you're celebrating. Yeah. Thanks, guys. So let's get into voice memos. I think we have three this week. This first one, I mainly laughed the hardest when I got the notification because it said, well, I guess I won't spoil it, but listen to this voice memo. It's from, I think, episode 37. I talked about this randomly and had no idea this guy listened to the podcast. It's awesome. Jake, Brad, Ghostrunners. this randomly and i had no idea this guy listened to the podcast it's awesome jake brad ghost runners it's nutcase psycho clean hands homes coming at you live still clean hands and actually
Starting point is 01:01:14 i also have my baby the week here with me and it turns out she's my wife hey ghost runners we have a little something to tell you. We figured we'd give you some background to the story that y'all talked about on your episode last week. So while I was four years old, I had actually just slipped out of service. Pastor Hosey wasn't quite as engaging as he probably should have been for my four-year-old self. And I ran to the bathroom, washed my hands, and whenever I came back, he asked me to look at my hands and tell them if they were clean. So I said, I told the entire audience, considerately. I washed them. They're clean.
Starting point is 01:01:51 And he has a pure heart. And my heart's pure. So just wanted to say that we appreciate you guys. Keep doing what you do. Have a great week. Sick them and lick them bear cats. Isn't that awesome? First of all, it's funny that he listens
Starting point is 01:02:06 because are you friends with him? That's the main thing that surprised me. Every week I continue to be surprised by personal friends of mine that listen to the podcast who have never told me they listen to my podcast. Not that every single person needs to tell me, but it's like, I think if I listened to one of my friends' podcast, at this point
Starting point is 01:02:21 I would have said something like, I've been loving it. I'm enjoying it. So not that you need to or not that I'm like mad or anything. It just like, that is so awesome. It makes it that much better. It's like Grant Holmes, listen to that episode. But to your point, let's stop, talk, talk and talk about that for a second. If you are a friend of ours and you are listening to our podcast, let us know that you're listening by going to apples.podcasts.com and just leave us a review that has a prime number in it. But no pressure. I don't feel like you need to.
Starting point is 01:02:48 It's always shocking. Seriously, once a week, I find out a new friend who's been listening to every episode. Like, oh, I had no idea. That's awesome. I had no idea. So it's also so funny that he remembers that too. Because I didn't know if that was memorable to him or not. Just like a random thing you say one time.
Starting point is 01:03:02 People must have just erupted laughing. So he's like, yeah, I awesome well i love the backstory now that we know that he literally had just cleaned his hand i didn't know that so that's great rather than like some little kid that's like yeah being pestered by his parents like hey you need to you need to keep your hands clean they are they are and then the pastor's like are your hands clean or dirt they're clean you know like he literally had just got back from the bathroom. That's amazing. Wow. So just so awesome. Grant, you're the man. Missy dude. Gosh, we, uh, we in high school baseball, someone, this is right when Tropic Thunder came out, that movie, which, uh, pretty unpolitically correct in hindsight. Like there's blackface in it. There's like some other stuff that's in it.
Starting point is 01:03:49 Mainly with the character. There's guns. There is violence. Yep. But there is a character that Ben Stiller plays called Simple Jack. And the way that he kind of looks in that movie, I think it was like Grant got a haircut in high school baseball. And everyone's like, you look like Simple Jack. And so then he got the nickname Simple Grant. Okay it was like his instagram handle it might still be his
Starting point is 01:04:09 instagram handle i don't even know actually but every time i see him post on instagram like ah that's awesome still got the nickname we gave you like 10 years ago simple grant it really stuck i mean why change a screen name you know why change like a username once you have it keep it yeah that's your brand baby that's great yeah so that's voice mode number one. Thanks for that grant. Yeah. That was really, that made my whole week. Yeah. Jake texted me like right after he was really excited. He thought it was really funny. So thank you. Hey, Jake and Brad, this is Taylor from Oklahoma city. First time caller, long time listener. Um, on the last podcast, you guys asked if anyone was emerging onto the on-ramp
Starting point is 01:04:45 while you guys were talking about it and I was um I'm in the car a lot for my job and just wanted to say thank you guys for such a fun podcast I listen to it all the time I also recommended the podcast to one of my friends who was on a 19-hour road trip and she listened to you for the entirety of the 19 hours which is pretty fun because I'm pretty sure the record is 18 hours. So that was pretty cool. My question though is if you guys were in the car for 18 hours or 19 hours, who would you be in the car with and where would you guys be going? All right. Thanks. Bye. That was awesome. That was a good one. Thanks, Taylor. Yeah. First of all, thanks for merging. Good job. We've had so many people. thanks for merging good job i hope you merged later did you merge later last second yeah have you feel like i've had so many people tell me they were
Starting point is 01:05:30 listening to that point too like people sending us pictures and like screenshots there was one and maybe it was her that said she was like merging and like yeah did a screenshot while she did it i probably had six or seven people like tell me they were merging when we talked about it here's the thing we should do one right now. What's another thing? If you are taking a drink of something. Oh, how cool is that? I don't know. We knew it. Oh, that's so crazy.
Starting point is 01:05:57 Are you using a straw? You just put it back down and you took another drink oh two drink we called it wait are you telling somebody else that that you're telling about this experience are you typing to us ghost hunters podcast instagram right now oh my gosh this is crazy oh you crazy person okay what were you gonna say you're wearing your blue light glasses as we speak? Can you turn the lamp off? No, I was going to say, it's just a funny nature of how it is. You said like six or seven people commented or told me about it. I think genuinely 99% of the people that listen, listen not because of you, but they got here because of you.
Starting point is 01:06:44 Meaning you have,, I don't, I don't really broadcast this podcast to people. Not that I don't have friends. I have plenty of friends that I could broadcast this to. I just don't, that's not as much my style. It's not as much my social media brand. I post furniture. It's not even like a personal Instagram for you.
Starting point is 01:07:00 It's like, right. You pretty much only have a business. It's pretty much. Yeah. Yeah. So it would be strange to promote this podcast. Almost, almost hurt what hurt the Ellis Cousins Crazy Brand a little bit. Um, but so anyway, I get, I have a like really close group of 12 people that I play fancy football with. Uh, and we have a group me that is texting each other
Starting point is 01:07:20 50 times a day. Um, and so I get feedback on there and I get feedback from some people at church and my family. That's about it. Besides the people that send us stuff through ghost runners podcasts, our Instagram account. Uh, so any feedback that you've seen is probably the same feedback that I've seen. Like, I don't, I think you get way more feedback that are sent to you personally than I get feedback that's sent to me personally. Cause like people have my phone number because they're like my friend. They're like, dude,
Starting point is 01:07:46 yeah, I've been listening to this and I, yeah, I think, you know, whatever this thing. Yeah, totally.
Starting point is 01:07:50 I was merging right here. Yeah. You know, why don't you let me know that, huh? I'm just kidding. You're in the 1%. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:07:57 totally. Which I'm, I'm, I understand that because yeah, you're the one that has lots of followers on Instagram and you had 20,000 this week. Did you really? Thank you. You were just like 17. Weren't you? That's what I on Instagram and you... I had 20,000 this week. Did you really? Thank you, Tree Candy. You were just like 17, weren't you?
Starting point is 01:08:07 I was telling Isaac today, I was like, whoa, I have 20,000 followers. That's kind of a lot. How did this happen? That is a lot. Why do I have 20,000 followers? I remember back when you were like 5,000. Not that long ago. That was almost weirder. Like I had like 6,000 followers as a youth pastor. Like, why do I have 6,000 followers as a youth pastor?
Starting point is 01:08:24 Anyway. That is crazy. It's not, yeah, I'm not trying to be braggy. It's just like, oh, that's weird. That just felt like I just woke up and that happened. Um, that's wild. She asked us a question. I think she asked us, first of all, I think, yeah, she asked us about the 18, 19 hours. Who are we with? Oh yeah. I love that. The record, the record is on 19 hours. Yeah. Who's going to break it? Taylor's friend has it right now. There's no way way of verifying it but i would love it to hear if anybody has listened to us for 20 hours straight that's so silly uh maybe like a relay for life you know they just they just blast us on the loud speakers at college yeah relay for life really for life 24 hours we did it it's called a relay for wife and it's like a baby the week themed it's just a speed dating
Starting point is 01:09:05 but it's actually not speed dating it's like very slowly cancer research is not involved at all and you don't actually talk to the people you just listen and if you guys both laugh at the same time like oh okay let's start walking um okay but i think you have there's something really special about you there's something about you. Yeah, that's what it was. 18 or 19 hours, man, it would take a lot for me to do that, first of all. What was the question specifically? What would I listen to for 18 hours straight? Let's go back and listen to it.
Starting point is 01:09:35 I don't remember. Hey, Jake and Brad, this is Taylor from Oklahoma City. First time caller, not time listener. It's at the end of the... On the last podcast, you guys asked if anyone was emerging onto the on-room while you guys were talking about it. And I was. Can you just fast forward to the end of it I know okay Like where are you playing it from That you can't just fast forward
Starting point is 01:09:54 I've I've I've Oh nice Yeah you were giving me a crap Oh My question though is, if you guys were in the car for 19 hours, who would you be in the car with and where would you guys be going? All right. Thanks.
Starting point is 01:10:08 Bye. Okay. So I did not have the question right at all. Who would I be in the car with? Where would I be going? Yeah. I mean, my first answer is I'd be with Ty Gatewood and Kyle Brown in a limousine. Sure.
Starting point is 01:10:21 Going to Jimmy Fallon this time. Oh. It's probably like 19 hours to new york we bought a jimmy one of our first ever uh radio interviews we did while we're still in maine limo didn't even have breaks yet and we're on the radio somehow i don't know how they even happened but this radio host is like okay so i'm learning that like jake and ty you guys knew each other but kyle you're kind of uh you know an outlier here how'd you get connected and like was it hard for you to get convinced to come on this trip and uh out of nowhere he'd never like made this joke
Starting point is 01:10:55 before he's like i was actually in the middle of my own project uh kimmel i bought a horse and i had to postpone that to come on here. And it was really funny. I think about it. It was a great joke. Great one-liner. So yeah, I'll be driving to New York City in a limo with Ty and Kyle, I think. What about you? I'm going to go outside the box. Obviously, the answer is my wife.
Starting point is 01:11:18 Just her? Yeah. How do you stay home? Yeah. She gets antsy about hour 15 or so uh but my favorite person to go on a road trip with is my cousin joel that's my answer i'll go on a road trip with my cousin where are you going uh we are going to the grand tetons tetons the grand tetons the two tones have you ever heard that song? We belong here in the Grand Tetons.
Starting point is 01:11:48 I have heard that song. You want to know how I've heard that song? How? Because I was a religious follower of Ellen. We bought a limo. You said you didn't watch every episode, so I didn't know. I didn't actually. So how did you know?
Starting point is 01:11:59 Because I saw that one. Oh. Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah, but that is how I know. No, I had not heard it before that, though. Well, I don't even know where the Grand Tetons are, but I would like to go to every national park. They're a good one.
Starting point is 01:12:11 It's one we didn't give a lot of time to, unfortunately. We were only there like less than a day, but they were cool. Yeah. Where are they? Northwest? They're up there. Yeah. I don't remember.
Starting point is 01:12:20 You don't remember either. It's kind of a blur. That's fine. I want to say somewhere. It was like on our way to Yellowstone, I think. Okay. So somewhere in Wyoming, I think. remember. You don't remember either? It's kind of a blur. I want to say somewhere. It was like on our way to Yellowstone, I think. Okay. So somewhere in Wyoming, I think. Okay.
Starting point is 01:12:29 Colorado. If you guys know, leave us a five-star review. Let us know, please. Yeah, I have no idea. Thanks for the question. Yeah. Taylor. Taylor from OKC.
Starting point is 01:12:38 Oh, we're going to... Taylor, come see our show. We're going to the tower. I don't remember the date, but it'll be announced today, Probably when you're listening to this, come see us at the tower. Not Brad. Brad might be me and Trey. Okay. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:12:53 Brad's a loser. Brad keeps waiting. Like he's almost hits the space bar and then I keep talking. He almost hits again. Then I keep talking. Okay. I'm done. Hey, somebody said in a Trey Kennedy video that I need to be in it with you guys next
Starting point is 01:13:04 time. Did they really? Yeah. Did they tag you and say that? Yeah. All we need now is Ellis Custom Creations to be in it with you guys next time. Did they really? Yeah. Did they tag you and say that? Yeah. All we need now is LS Custom Creations to be in it. And I was like,
Starting point is 01:13:09 yeah, let's go. Imagine your business, your woodworking account being tagged in a video. They'd be like, that'd be awesome. I think it'd be,
Starting point is 01:13:17 oh yeah, I mean, it'd be awesome. Oh, I'd get inundated with cutting board orders, you know, because I can ship those.
Starting point is 01:13:22 So anybody can buy a cutting board order or, you know, t-shirts or I could probably for the right price, ship a dining table. I just think it'd be so confusing almost as a viewer. Just like, did he tag the right account? This is like a woodworking. This doesn't have a picture of him anywhere. There's no human even here. That's a table. That would be funny. Okay. Third one. Last one. Hey guys, this is Joy in Florida. A couple episodes ago,
Starting point is 01:13:46 Brad suggested the song Wildfire by John Mayer and I downloaded it and really loved it. And I was thinking a good new segment could be song recommendation of the week. I say Brad suggests this song because I have a 14 year old daughter and she kind of already suggests all the same music that Jake does. Song recommendation of the week is great. Good way to find new music. Also let you know, I am rooting for the Kansas city chiefs to win the super bowl because I know you guys love the chiefs. Everyone have a great day. Bye.
Starting point is 01:14:20 I love that. That almost, that almost validates the Jack, Tom Cruise thing for me. Like, I'd rather be known for good music rather than, you know, good looks, I think. I gotta say, started off great. Her name's Joy. Loves the podcast. Jake, you have the music recommendations of my 14-year-old daughter. Okay, but real talk.
Starting point is 01:14:45 How far off is she? She's not. And I feel like I've always been very unfriendly about, like, I'm so shallow with my music. I just like whatever can make my hips move. It just hurts to hear it from a girl named Joy, much less. I would have preferred her name be Agatha or something like that. If there's any Agathas listening, I apologize. Agatha Christie is probably listening.
Starting point is 01:15:06 Oh, man. All right, Brad. Well, show off your skills. What's your song recommendation? Okay. Song recommendation of the week. Also, wait. This is coming from the guy who said no one listens to new music anymore.
Starting point is 01:15:18 Yeah, that's the thing. Remember when you said that? I was about to say something that was like, I'm just going to say my favorite songs. Well, she said Wildfire by John Mayer. She's never listened to that song has been out for a long time, but it's a great song. I'm just going to give classic songs that maybe people haven't heard. Yeah. I'm going to give two, uh, one for the very classic you'll find on one-on-one, the Fox kind of music. Um, and one that's more just classic to people who think that being born in 1990 is like really old. So the first one is Sweet, colon, Julie. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 01:15:49 Home, Alabama. Sweet? No, sweet as in like comfort sweets. Sweet, Judy Blue Eyes by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Or maybe it's just Crosby, Stills, and Nash. Anyway, great song. Longer one. It's a ballad, but it's great.
Starting point is 01:16:05 And the second one is just a classic. I think it has a great little, I don't know, cool music to it. Great beat. Great little tag thing. 1901 by Phoenix. Remember Phoenix? No. Okay.
Starting point is 01:16:19 You'd remember the song, I think. Okay. It's a good one. So those are my two song recommendations. Those are classic songs that are not revolutionary. They're not going to, you know, knock your pants off. Ew. But they'll get you going.
Starting point is 01:16:33 Do you have songs that will knock my pants off? Because that's something I'd be interested in. Let me think. Think of the Pants Knockers. You have a playlist called Pants Knockers? Pants Knockers. I should make one for the podcast. Yeah, we should make a Ghostrunner Spotify account and share with everyone a playlist called pants knockers knockers i should make one for the podcast yeah we should make a ghost run to spotify account and share with everyone a playlist called pants
Starting point is 01:16:48 knockers there's a you don't watch parks and rec very much but uh tom haverford uh he has like a critique or a curriculum for uh his playlists um like whenever he's being a dj and like the only critique is is it a banger okay is it a banger if it's not a banger it's not on my phone you know nice and so pants knockers pants knockers is way better yeah just just it's just all bangers um i can't think of them off the top of my head you know what what's that one after we're done recording you tell me you think of one and then we'll play it at the end of this podcast perfect so you guys listen all the way through and as you're listening to it just imagine okay imagine my pants are off okay but here's here's the deal with good music is that sometimes you have to wait a while for it
Starting point is 01:17:31 you have to you have to feel the music out so we might have to listen it might be like two minutes before it really starts you know like like your pants will be on for the first two minutes potentially it sounds like you already have the song in mind i do i just don't remember what it's called so you're gonna it's a full song we're going to play? It's got the best bass drop that I've heard in years. And it takes two minutes to get to there? That's the point. Okay.
Starting point is 01:17:52 You don't just, you don't just want to listen to a song. I don't know if it's two minutes, maybe it's 45 seconds, but you don't want to just be like. No, no, no. You're right. You know, but all your, all your videos are always like, and then it's like. Okay. I was more caught up on like, if it's actually after two minutes, that seems unlike most songs.
Starting point is 01:18:07 Like, well, that's a really long time to wait to get it going. Yeah. It might. It's probably. Probably just like one minute into it. Sweet Judy Blue Eyes though. You're going to have to wait a big six minutes before it gets to the really good. Oh, geez.
Starting point is 01:18:17 In the air tonight. One of the greatest songs of all time. Maybe the greatest song of all time by Phil Collins. Doesn't, doesn't kick in with that uh tom drum kind of thing you know until later on i feel like sweet judy blue eyes is just like an audiobook that you just recommended everyone like wait till like the 36 minute mark and then that's like one of my favorite parts so yeah precious based on the novel push by sapphire yeah great great audiobook hilarious song listen to it guys oh man i love, I can't even tell. I think she was
Starting point is 01:18:48 probably trying to be pretty, uh, pretty, she was trying to kind of cut deep when she said that, but I couldn't tell at first, like if she was being serious when she said the thing about a 14 year old daughter, or if it was like kind of a little bit of a dig, like, I hope she doesn't even have a daughter. She just said that just to try and make fun of me. Just made that up. Yeah. We looked into your Instagram account, Joy, and you just have one newborn. I don't know what's going on there. You did that just to make me feel bad.
Starting point is 01:19:10 Joy from FL. Yeah, that's the only one I see here. But anyway, thanks for the voice memos, guys. Please continue to send them. If you don't know how to get to the voice memos, just go to Apple Podcasts. After leaving your five-star review, there should be a description under each of our probably like latest 10
Starting point is 01:19:27 episodes. At least I put it in every single one. Oh, from now on. I put it, that Lincoln, there you go. So the link is on every single description of our,
Starting point is 01:19:35 on both, uh, Spotify podcasts, probably anywhere else. So thanks for sending them. We love, we love receiving them. It's always fun.
Starting point is 01:19:42 Anytime we can get feedback and get you guys to add your creativity to the pod speaking of receiving feedback we have gotten so many reviews we typically average like eight or nine reviews a week this week 21 that's so many this is gonna be so hard to decide a review of the week we're gonna have to combine a few because almost all of them are like like paragraphs and paragraphs like they're all like very well written awesome reviews yeah yeah let's just i don't even know where to start someone wrote us a spoken word which is awesome it's hard not to be like that's the best but i have one that i really really love that i texted you about remember that yeah that one's a good one yeah while you're pulling that one up uh we have to give a shout out because a couple episodes ago there was a
Starting point is 01:20:28 girl who asked for a shout out but accidentally left us a four star review yeah and i went back and she hasn't changed it yet so now we got to give it to her sister uh so shout out to best big sis brooke for the five star review and not your idiot sister who we won't name. It's probably given us four stars. That's too good, man. Shout out, Brooke. We have a... One person said that their roommate works at Tallgrass.
Starting point is 01:20:55 So random. Yes. And a lot of reviews this week are specific to like, I've seen Brad at Chipotle. I saw Jake at... That was the one that I was like, I can't even enjoy Chipotle in
Starting point is 01:21:05 peace. Come talk to me. I am such a normal person. You not need to be worried about talking to me, please. Like what if we just, he asked about like staying or what types I can't keep up with that conversation. I can't relate to him. Golly. His friend is worth $14 million. He's probably so out of touch. Yeah. Yeah. He's, he's rubbing elbows with the Kansas elite. That's not our indoor women's soccer team. No. Um, so the one, the one that I sent you this week that I just really, uh, got fired up about, not that we don't get fired up about our friends and family and, uh, people watching or even the people coming from your Instagram. That's great.
Starting point is 01:21:47 But there's just extra fire here. This is just extra fire for me. Tell them why. From ToeJay with two Ys. So probably ToeJay. I'll just give you basically a synopsis of it is that she said that her friend Katie introduced her to it. Not just Katie. Kate McGinty.
Starting point is 01:22:01 Yeah, our girl. Our Australian babe of the week. Babe of the week. Yeah. A babe of the wake. Yeah. And a boy, boy, boy, boy, inty. Yeah. Our girl, our Australian babe of the week. Yeah. A babe of the week. Yeah. And a boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, babe week. Um, yeah, she introduced her to it and said she had to listen to it. Um, and she ended up really loving this podcast, uh, that we do called the ghost runners. Um, anyway, she listens every time she's in the car. Um, and
Starting point is 01:22:24 it's just cool. Basically she just says really nice things the car. Um, and it's just cool. Basically she says really nice things about us. Um, and she's even written room for the chiefs. Um, but the thing that's the coolest to me is that like she had no, no reason to like us coming into it. Like she didn't,
Starting point is 01:22:38 she's not related to us. She's not friends with us. She didn't watch your Instagram videos and be like, Oh, that guy's really funny. I'm going to listen to his podcast now. And it sounds like she didn't even come over from Trey or, you know, there's no connection. There's no connection. And yet she really, really enjoys us to the point where she's listened to every single episode. She's finally caught up. She said, uh,
Starting point is 01:22:56 after starting to listen in October and that's just like, that's really, that's really cool to me. Like it's one thing we love, we love all these people. Yeah. That obviously came over that already think we're fun and funny and whatever. Yeah. It's one thing to make your mom laugh. It's a whole nother thing to make the girl a stranger down under, down under. Yeah. It's just, it was really cool to see that of like, Holy cow. Like that's just, I don't know, whatever. That was one of the first things that gave me some confidence about this podcast early on is like everyone came over from my instagram you know the first five to ten episodes for the most part yeah and they were enjoying it and enjoying you
Starting point is 01:23:33 so much and that gave me a lot of confidence like okay they have no prior knowledge they have no idea who this guy is at all and they think brad is so funny okay we might have some legs to this thing yeah that's true that's hard to make strangers laugh if they don't know anything else about you which is like so fun to me like to think yeah okay like the ultimate challenge yeah yeah yeah yeah so thanks for not knowing me guys which kind of makes me feel like we've talked about this before i think that you're not as funny as me that i'm not as funny and that i should post i'm just teasing teasing i uh i have 20 000 people on instagram who already like me and think I'm funny.
Starting point is 01:24:05 Why am I not making more videos? Yeah. You know, why don't I do more with my own Instagram? Yeah. I should. Like those people already like me. It's going to be so easy to make them laugh. Truly.
Starting point is 01:24:16 That's, I mean, look at Trey's videos every time people die. Every single video. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, my review of the week, uh, I guess I'll just choose one that we got today. Uh, just cause it's, it's a great observation. It says, and their username is tall grass love. So that segment really hit home with people, I guess
Starting point is 01:24:36 says my absolute favorite part of almost every podcast is when Brad makes a joke and Jake doesn't get it, but he is so supportive that he tries his hardest to get in on the joke and in brad's very short explanation generally surface generally surface level and generally referencing a movie it kills me every time and if jake gets it he yells dang it and kicks himself for not understanding immediately what a duo that's like such a specific observation uh and i guess i i like it because that's like a rule of improv you know yes and yes and just always like uh i i don't think i've like been noticing that i'm doing it but it's cool to be noticed for like oh yeah i'm just trying to like always go along and like always entertain you're like yeah sure yeah okay well i can go down this path
Starting point is 01:25:21 i don't know what this is about but let's keep going so it's funny that someone noticed that because uh that's a good quality. My jokes are just so above you is what I'm reading. I mean, just the wittiness. It's crazy. My gosh. Think of this stuff. I'm here with Chris Rock or something.
Starting point is 01:25:35 This is crazy. Chris Rock. Every time. Every time. What do you want, a cookie? Oh, shoot. Thanks so much for the reviews, guys. 21 in one week is so cool and we read every single one of them and really appreciate you guys so yeah oh there was one
Starting point is 01:25:51 person that i thought this was a fun one calvin beck ill or maybe it's calvin beck the third i'm not sure um assuming the chiefs from the super bowl what chiefs players names do you like for your new baby brad i mean besides tyreek and Tyron, which are like first two to come to mind. It's Samuel, it's F, or it's Watkins. I don't know what else you want me to say. There's no other, there's no third name, fourth name. I'm trying to think. Samuel Ellis, Watkins Ellis.
Starting point is 01:26:21 Samuel Watkins Ellis. Or F Ellis. Fellis. Fellis. What up, Ellis. Fellis. Fellis. What up, Fellis? Fellis. Hey, Fellis. Come at you from Jake's basement.
Starting point is 01:26:30 Remember that one hit wonder from like 2007? Probably DJ Felly Fell. Remember him? What was his one hit wonder? It had T-Pain in it. He sang the chorus. Dang it. I can't remember it.
Starting point is 01:26:44 I was pretty like hipster in 2007. Oh, you were listening to like Wildfire by like John Mayer and stuff like that? Yeah. I was going to Mute Math concerts. Oh, it was the song. Sufjan Stevens. Feist. Get Buck in Here.
Starting point is 01:26:57 Remember that one? I remember a lot of songs that had Buck in it. Get Buck in Here? Nuck if you buck. That's an important one. If you buck. I know that one. No it get buck in here knock if you buck that's no you but i know that one uh no get buck in here it had uh diddy acon ludicrous and little john in it that was the only song he ever made that guy didn't make any more yeah songs that was it yeah it's so much backing he was like uh like a dj cal thing i think you were just like a curator and producer and gotcha
Starting point is 01:27:20 made one hit and he was out so that could that can be another one. Yeah. DJ fellas, DJ, Feli Ellis, Feli fella, whatever. Nice. So would that be your answer? Something,
Starting point is 01:27:32 Samuel, Samuel F. Watkins. Yeah. Sam. That's except my, my cousin just named his boy, Sam.
Starting point is 01:27:37 So maybe not truly, but, uh, man, there's so many good ones. I really do just want to give more shout outs, but maybe, I don't know, leave us a DM on our Instagram ghost runners podcast and let us know if we didn't shout out your podcast review and you want more feedback on it. Cause I truly love,
Starting point is 01:27:56 these are all so good. So many, like somebody said they spent 50, they have a friend who spent $1,500 on a nice coffee machine. I forgot about that one. That's crazy. That makes Isaac $600 seem like a steal. I made my first latte today on it. Yeah? And? Yeah. It tasted good. Okay. I did it all by myself. It tasted well. Like well water? It did taste kind of like well water. Had something wrong. My milk was expired, I think. well they do good is that what the english teachers taught you and aletha wondering anything that happened this week and then we can wrap this up for the record i know when to use which i was just i was just it's a random inside joke that we used to do a long time ago the joke joke jokester i got tagged in something from a friend
Starting point is 01:28:43 from high school and says he tagged me this video and said it looks like you guys were like 10 years ahead of the curve there's this video that's been blown up on instagram twitter and i think it was originally a tiktok of these guys doing these trick shots these funny different things where they're throwing like gummy bears into their friend's mouth like you would open a public bathroom guy sitting on the toilet like throws a gummy bear in his mouth dropping it from like a parking garage into his mouth and it's just like it's just like blown up really popular in 2010 i made a video uh called gummy bear air where i did this exact thing it was like a four minute long like dude perfect type video yeah i got all my friends from
Starting point is 01:29:19 high school and we just like we spent like weeks and weeks doing like the best of the best shots like uh on the playground from a parking garage in a bathroom like we did the exact same shots they were doing and nothing ever happened nothing ever came of it we were 10 whole years too early for that trend i thought it was crazy i didn't even i didn't even thought about that i feel like you're 10 years too early for tiktok really it wasn't the it wasn't the trend i feel like trick shots were big in 10 years ago you didn't get it out to enough people probably yes i guess because because surely yeah surely you weren't the original like whoa this is a great idea we'll do crazy trick shots no but with with food with inanimate objects. I think people are doing that. Well, I mean, a basketball is inanimate, but food is. Okay, okay, okay.
Starting point is 01:30:07 Whatever. I just thought it was a cool coincidence that this thing that's going viral is an idea that I had 10 years ago and executed very well, but it never got the traction. You're a genius. Because there's no TikTok or whatever. Just like the Braille. The Braille. Hey, if you're blind out there, let me put your fingers on some stuff and let's test you. All right. That'd be so fun. Okay. We can wrap this episode up because I think Isaac is trying
Starting point is 01:30:31 to get some woodworking done in the garage. And I told him, uh, please wait until we're done. Cause it's loud. Sure. And he understood. So we'll wrap this up. Uh, thank you guys for listening to episode 38 i believe and feel free to follow us on instagram and anything else brad leave us a review leave us a voice memo i appreciate all the people that have ordered ellis custom creation shirts if you're interested in ordering one hit me up i'm gonna order them this week probably so and you can always order more but yeah holler holler at your boy all right i think it's time for brad to hit us with a jingle to end things okay gotta be chiefs chiefs related of course like a tech nine song is everything in okay i don't know what like what else whether our list are from gates of city well no no the the. The song is going to be the lyrics. Oh, I see.
Starting point is 01:31:25 I see. I see. That makes more sense. Like, what is a Chiefs song? Okay. Whoa, Chief Super Bowl. Whoa, Chief Super Bowl. We're going to the Super Bowl. This is Miami flow. We got Jake and Brad. Best podcast I've ever had.
Starting point is 01:31:53 Whoa, Chief Super Bowl. Whoa, Chief Super Bowl. Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam. Bam, bam, bam, bam. Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam. Whoa, Patrick Mahomes. Bam, bam, bam. Whoa, Patrick Mahomes Bam, bam, bam Whoa, Patrick Mahomes Bam, bam, bam
Starting point is 01:32:10 He's not from Birmingham Bam, bam, bam Way down in Alabama Bam, bam, bam But we got Travis Kelsey Bam, bam, bam And Sammy Everwalkins Bam, bam, bam
Starting point is 01:32:19 Whoa, Chief Super Bowl Bam, bam, bam Whoa, Ghost Runners Every Monday Whoa, cheese Super Bowl, bam, bam, bam. Whoa, Ghost Runners, every Monday. Wow. Was that good? Was that well? Did I do well?
Starting point is 01:32:41 Isaac's clapping upstairs. You like that? You like that? You like that? Chiefs! Oh! Goals! Runners! Chiefs are going to the Super Bowl!
Starting point is 01:33:03 And they're gonna win it all! I don't even know if we need to play the pants knocker. That did a number on me there. I'm getting... My heart rate is fired up from thinking about the Chiefs right now, dude. BPMs. I'm gonna give a quick woo. Okay. Woo!
Starting point is 01:33:19 Cheers! I used to do this thing probably like two years ago. It was when I was making a lot of YouTube videos I don't know if it was related but for like a couple months straight every day I would scream really loud
Starting point is 01:33:31 at least once I don't know why I wouldn't do it around other people no one knew I was doing it but I would just find a time every day to just like woo and it was just kind of fun
Starting point is 01:33:39 and then I just stopped it got you going yeah I don't know why I did it it gets the people going or why I stopped but yeah it just feels good it gives you energy it's like a way to produce energy out of nowhere in your body hit it one time
Starting point is 01:33:48 hit it one time you know what i don't feel good feel that echo in our basement we're working on it guys we don't we don't know send us some stuff and we get us a p.o box p.o box and send us just a ton of foam paneling because that's's what we need, basically. Okay, this episode has been ending for 10 minutes now. Thank you guys for listening, and hold on to your britches, because they're about to get knocked off! Here's the song Brad wanted. Yee-haw!
