Happy Monday, ghosties.
Jake, I have a...
Oh, sorry.
Oh my gosh.
Jake, where's Timon?
Where's...
Is he...
Oh my gosh, dude.
Wait, today is May 4th.
Yeah, he's in China.
Oh, I totally forgot.
Holy cow.
I was just sitting here for fun.
Yeah, just like getting the framing right.
And then you're just there.
Forgot Jake isn't even here.
What do you, how do you, how do you start a podcast
without the guy that starts the podcast?
OK.
Let's do it.
Let's do an ad.
No, that's ad reads are in the middle.
Let's just cut this part out and let's just
start from the theme song. Okay, cool.
Okay.
Uh oh, ooh I think this tight beat means that it's going down with some random thoughts
and white meat too.
Midwest best friends eating fast food on repeat.
So come along, let's have some fun and go ahead, get on your feet.
Cause it's a ghost from the Spock County. All right, here we are timing.
Brad, Jake is in China.
He's going to be joining us later.
I am really excited.
So Wednesday, we're going to recap all of China.
We're going to recap my time with my family in Branson,
which is so fun.
I'm trying to save all that
because I can't wait to talk about that
with Jake specifically.
Yeah, I can't wait to hear about China.
Dude.
I was thinking like we need five episodes of Jake.
Maybe we should.
Maybe honestly we should record like the Wednesday episode
and if it bleeds into Monday's episode, like.
We should get Isaac on I feel like for.
Sure. That'd for sure. Yeah.
That'd be great.
Yeah.
And so I don't know what the, the rest of this episode is going to be with Jake is going
to interview his business partner out in China.
So I don't know what they're going to cover there, but I, not even intentionally, but
now it's kind of being intentionally.
I have been really bricked from Instagram, AKA.
I haven't really seen any of his stories. And so I've only seen like the reactions on the Facebook group every once in a while of
like, I'm living for these stories.
These stories are hilarious.
Catherine, every once in a while is like, yeah, Jake said something funny on the story,
but like, I don't know the context.
I don't know what's happened.
So it's going to be like, you know, I've always been like, I'd be so jealous to watch the
office for the first time.
Like these people are doing like, like some be so jealous to watch the office for the first time.
Like these people are doing like, like some people are going to be able to watch me react
to things that they know about already.
Yeah.
For the first time, cause I, I have no idea.
The best experience for yourself.
Yeah.
There was, there's, I, like, I saw a picture on the Facebook group the other day of like
some kind of roasted dead bird head thing.
And I'm like, what is going on there?
So anyway, really excited
to have, have Jake back in studio. He's getting back, he's getting back super late Monday
and we're going to record super early, not super early, but early in the morning Tuesday.
So I don't know if he's going to be completely jet. I mean, he's going to be jet lagged.
I don't know if he's going to even have slept before that or whatever. He's a, he's kind of a bionic man.
So anyway, but this episode we are going to just do,
it's kind of an evergreen episode.
We're not really going to talk about anything
super current right now.
We're just going to kind of go through,
we're calling them game changers.
I think we've done something similar before,
but just things in the lives we're going to,
I'm going to call some friends of mine, friends and actually one, uh, in the lives we're going to, I'm going to call some friends of
mine friends and actually one, two, two family members, um, friends and family members and,
uh, just kind of hear something that's a game changer in their life right now.
I kind of texted them earlier, uh, this week and was just like, would you be interested
in doing this?
And I gave them the idea of like, this could be a game changer.
It's like a serious thing.
Like, you know, I've been, I've really loved this quote or this person really affected my life or whatever.
Or it could be like super, super lighthearted. So, um, excited. I think we have like six different
people we're going to call. Um, and, uh, yeah, so I'll get started here, uh, shortly. Let's, uh,
yeah, let's go ahead and I'm going to, I'm going to call my, the, the, the save the
best for first.
Uh, one of my biggest game changes in my life.
My mom, I feel like I don't think my mom's ever interacted or been on the podcast or
anything like that.
Uh, but she's such a special woman to me.
And on some levels, I think Jake, Jake's mom and my mom are similar in the fact that like,
I think they're both fun.
They're both like sweet,
but they're not ones that are like,
oh, I just gotta be on the podcast.
Whereas our dads are like, throw me on there anytime.
You know, would love to be on there,
would love to sign autographs.
So anyway, but I was like, mom,
this will be a fun little thing for you to do
if you want to.
And I believe that my humor is way more from my mom
than from my dad.
So not trying to put too much on her here.
She's hopefully she's not going to like over.
She's going to be so funny.
So let's call.
Let's call mama here and see what she has to say about some game changers.
Sweet.
A lot of times she answers.
Hello, Brad.
Hello, Brad.
Hi, mama. How are you?
You're on the podcast.
Hey, everybody.
Yes, you did it.
You've made it after five years, six years.
As my podcast mom, you're on the podcast.
Yes.
And how do I sound?
You sound wonderful.
One of my favorite things.
It's just me and Timon in the studio today because you know, Jake's in China.
Yeah.
I'm going to go to the studio.
I'm going to go to the studio.
I'm going to go to the studio.
I'm going to go to the studio.
I'm going to go to the studio.
I'm going to go to the studio.
I'm going to go to the studio.
I'm going to go to the studio.
I'm going to go to the studio. I'm going to go to the studio. I'm going to go to the studio. I'm going to my favorite things, it's just me and time in the studio today.
Cause you know, Jake's in China.
Um, one of my favorite things my mom does is she has, I don't think it's, it's not an
Apple watch.
It's like a, some kind of fitness watch though.
It is an Apple watch.
I graduated to Apple.
Oh, you have.
Congratulations.
Well, for the longest time she would answer, she could answer the phone on her watch, but
she couldn't actually talk on it.
Like she could like remote say, you know, answer, but then she would, she would have
to get to her phone.
So she'd just be yelling, you know, from across the room, Brad, I'm coming.
I need to find my phone.
Well, I didn't want to miss your call.
Yes.
Thank you. All right. Well, okay. You're to miss your call. Yes. Thank you.
All right.
Well, okay.
You're the first one I called mom.
You're the, I was like, I gotta say the best for first here.
You're my game changer for this week.
But I kind of, yeah, I kind of explained the idea of game changer to them.
Do you have, what is your game changer these days or forever?
Yeah. Well, if I put you on my speakerphone, let me see if you can still hear me.
I think that's fine.
Can you still hear me?
Yep.
Okay.
Because I want to look at my notes.
You know, I have notes.
That's my mama.
Yep.
Yep.
That makes sense.
Well, you know, back in 2020, the fall of 2020, I retired. So that was a really big
game changer. Yeah. And so then, but today you're talking today. Well, whatever you want
it, whatever you want to say, open, open book. Yes. I am obsessed, maybe even a little addicted to jigsaw puzzles. I am. I look forward to coming home from
wherever I've been and I can sit and do my jigsaw puzzles. We're on the podcast.
He just walked in from today today was national day of prayer.
Good job, dad.
It's not dad's turn.
It's mom's turn on the podcast.
That's what I was trying to nicely say.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay, so yeah, when I'm out and about, I'll say, oh, I can't wait to get home and work
on my puzzle.
And it's set up in my living room.
And I'm going to be in the living room.
And I'm going to be in the living room.
And I'm going to be in the living room.
And I'm going to be in the living room.
And I'm going to be in the living room.
And I'm going to be in the living room.
And I'm going to be in the living room. And I'm going to be in the living room. And I'm going to be in the living room. And I'm going to be in the living room. And I'm going and about I'll say, oh, I can't wait to get home and work on my puzzle.
And it's set up in my living room and I can watch on my TV, my podcast friends.
I can listen to books. I just am in a world of loveliness. But I will say that I have to set a timer
most days, so I won't spend all day there.
OK, it's kind of like your brick.
Like you have to like have like limits on your screen time.
Is your puzzle time? Yeah, absolutely.
And sometimes I think, well, should I be doing this?
But yet what is the difference of reading a book, sitting?
Sure. Yeah
reading doing a puzzle
sit
crocheting which I don't do
But you could you know, yeah, I know how to cast crochet stitches on
So
Yeah, sometimes I'll even say, do this before you can work
on your puzzle. That's good. Okay. Yeah. Just like a little bit of like a motivation. I
I'm, I'm all about that. That's great. We, uh, we had French fries at dinner last night. We went to
Meddy's, uh, but they had to eat their chicken and their rice before they could have any French
fries. So you do the same thing with jigsaw puzzles. You gotta eat your veggies before you have your jigsaw.
There are certain things out there that like are kind of looked down upon if you do them
too much, like we'll say video games or yeah, watching too many TV shows.
But I don't think people are looking down on puzzles yet.
Oh yeah.
You know?
Especially yes.
Did timing want to say something?
I was just going to say,
yeah, I wish that puzzles were the thing I wanted to spend less time doing. I was on my phone all
the time. I'm like, yeah, it'd be great if I was setting limits for how much I was putting together
a puzzle. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I think you'll see it. Maybe you won't see it because
you're so young, but you'll start seeing things that it's good for seniors.
Okay. And I'm not in high school or in college.
Really?
Okay.
You're AARP senior.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
My birthday is September 24th, Brad.
Thank you.
Thank you, mom.
Okay, that's a great game changer.
Well, okay, we need to call some other people.
Do you have anything else?
I mean, that's kind of putting you on the spot,
but anything else you want to say before we get off?
I know you have some notes.
Yes, I do love Good Ranchers, especially the chicken.
All right, good, good, good, good plug.
That's a game changer for sure.
It really is, it really is.
Yeah.
And if I have to take a meal to
somebody, it's always good ranchers chicken in the dish. That a girl. You never lose.
That's right. I love that. All right. Okay. All right. We love you, mom. Love you. Okay.
All right. Bye. Nailed it. What a natural. Yeah. I can remember her. I mean, she's always
been a puzzler. Yeah. I don't know. I always appreciate like my mom was so good at like
if, if, so my dad and I were really into sports, watching sports, you know, whatever. And my
mom could take it or leave it, but she would always sit in the room with us either on her
computer or you know, what
they're doing a puzzle or something and just like include herself while we're watching.
And so at least she can like kind of be in the conversation or whatever. So yeah, that's
sweet that she talked about puzzles. That's cool. Yeah. Okay. All right. Let's yeah. Any
let's move on. Let's do another one here. Um, this guy's been a friend of
the podcast for a while. He's been on an episode before. Um, so I'm going to call him and see
what he says. I, you never know how this guy's going to answer. I'll just say that. Okay.
What's up my skinny boy. Gunner, my boy. How are you, brother? Oh, we're just plugging away, trying to provide for the family.
Come on with it. That's good. Yeah, so you're at work right now. Yeah. But you're taking
time to be on the podcast.
Yeah, don't tell my employer.
Okay, I will not tell Cerner that you are doing this.
Exactly.
I will not tell T-Mobile. Brother, hey, we are just calling some people. I know I texted you this earlier this week,
but a game changer in your life. I want to,
I want to hear what you have to say.
Uh, I got a long list. Let's go first.
First game changer shout out to Garrett Gibson. Okay.
Just get Garrett is your game changer.
He is the one who has changed the game. Okay
therefore game changer
just little small talk hanging out at the old Paola trip and
He lost his workout partner and
so I got to inherit him as my workout partner because we already go to the same gym just at different locations and
We're about three weeks in I'm just absolutely grinding together. And I've never been so sore in my life.
Really?
Which is good.
Yeah, that's not totally true, but it's mostly true.
At least my upper body.
Let's go, dude.
I mean, he has gotten considerably stronger,
like noticeably, like he is jacked.
So you're going, if you're gonna look like him,
then congrats, dude. Thank you. That's awesome
Yeah, I guess you throw in creatine as another game changer. Okay. Yeah
That that stuff works. I will say yeah
What I don't know
Totally. Okay. Yeah, give you your number two coming in hot
pure Casey
Okay, your boy is a
Taking off the deck boards of his deck and I'm gonna put down some new ones. Okay. Your boy is taking off the deck boards of his deck
and I'm gonna put down some new ones.
Okay.
The beautiful, wonderful Peter Casey
is going to help me accomplish that.
He helped me with my deck.
I know.
Yeah.
The big deck.
That's right, huge.
I don't be average over here, but.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's, but we're gonna do some nice material, not the brag.
We're putting the treks down.
Dude, treks, I wish I would. I'm trying to, yeah, redo mine with some treks But we're gonna do some nice material not to brag. We're putting the tracks down dude tracks
I wish I would I I'm trying to yeah redo mine with some tracks for sure
That's awesome. What color just cuz we're 30 some years old and that's interesting
Yeah
Heck yeah, dude, and I gotta see my dad which is always a delight. Yeah another game changer. Love it. Okay yeah heck yeah. The game's changed over here.
Yes I love it dude. That's awesome. I play different games now. Yeah good. All right those are two game changers
Garrett and Peter. Yeah that's it for now. Love it dude. I love that they're people you know like
that's that's how it should be.
Like the people in your life.
Yeah.
At the end of the day, those are the things that are going to change the game no matter
or more than anything.
So love it.
Love it, dude.
What kind of personality you have at work compared to outside of work?
Like are you pretty goofy?
Like, do they know that you're crazy at work?
Yeah. I borderline unprofessional.
Like, what are you wearing right now? What are you wearing?
You know, those really tiny polos that Jake got us?
Yeah. The bad birdies.
I wear those about three times a week.
OK. And they're a big hit with the 50 year old mothers.
50, 65 year old
mothers. I'm pretty goofy for the most part. I mean, I stay in business when it's time to stay in
business, but I'll jump into people's meetings I'm not invited to and say a couple of words and just
nobody's told me to stop doing that. So I think it's somewhat okay.
Dude. Yeah, I would love, I love it.
I love everything about it. That's fun.
Alright, well thank you for, thank you for your game changer.
I'm gonna, I got, oh I got a call from another person trying to get on for a game changer here.
So I'm gonna, alright love you bye.
Easy transition here.
My guy! What's up?
Hey, don't let me jump the gun.
You literally, literally jumped the gun.
I was talking to Gunner and you called me.
Don't take it back.
I would love to jump the gun.
My whole goal in life is to get just a cut in line and to get in front of that guy.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is Will Severns on the podcast here.
We've talked about Will plenty of times on the pod here. Co-host of
the Table Setters podcast, co-host of Table Setters with me. How are you brother?
I'm great. I wanted to call. I'm about to go on a run. Okay. And if I called you, if
you called me five or 10 minutes later, I'd be huffing and puffing. Who knows? I could
be on a run right now. You don't know. Um, this is, this is my pace right now.
That's how, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Talk about that. Is that your game? Well, what's your game changer?
We're talking about game changers here. Yeah. I got two for you. One I wasn't even planning on,
but here we go. Mood follows action. So I'm about to hit a run. I won't tell the audience how far
it's going to be or how fast it's going to go, but I'm going
on a run and that's the truth. Mood follows action. Mood follows action. Yeah. But I can't, I can't
own that one. That's Rich Roll. And the next line, here's the game changer is RTO. RTO. Have we
talked about this? We've talked so much. I think so. What is it?
Time doesn't know.
Time is with me here.
RTO.
So my brother and best friend and I love RTO.
And it is from one of our favorite authors,
Brennan Manning.
And he had a line that was RTO
and it's relinquish the outcome.
And Brennan Manning was a pastor, author, speaker,
and someone asked him one time,
what do you do when you speak to a crowd
and you wonder, you know, is this gonna land
or is this gonna resonate with people?
And Brandon Manning says, RTO.
I said, what do you do after, yeah, relinquish the outcome.
They said, what do you do after a big speech?
And Brandon said, I go home, I drink a Diet Coke,
and I go to bed.
And I think the importance is in our lives And Brandon said I go home. I drink a diet coke and I go to bed and and
I think the importance is in our lives
Whatever we're doing whether we're public speaking or whether we're applying for a job or whether we're
Asking a girl on a date
You got an RTO you you do what you do and you don't think twice about it you get out of there and whatever happens
Happens you release it to the Lord.
So yeah, in other words, like you're saying,
like relinquish the outcome as in like,
don't worry about what's gonna happen.
I mean, yeah, yeah.
Like just go and do what you believe is the right thing
to do and just let, yeah.
Have open hands for the rest of it.
Okay.
Yep.
You know, you line up, where do I go to college? You line up three, you pick the hat.
You say, boom, here, here's where I'm good.
Well, you relinquish the outcome. Anything in life.
Um, that's such a great word. I mean, like there's so many times I'm thinking of
in my life, can a cuck being one of them? I mean, I think out of, I would say at
top five things, decisions I've made, you know, effective like things
in my life.
Can I cook is definitely on there.
And so many of the other things have stemmed from Kennecock, including this podcast, including
my marriage.
Like, yeah.
And like, yeah, I definitely thought about it to an extent, but it was also just like,
I'm just going to go and just, I don't know.
I'm just going to go.
I hear it's kind of cool.
And so I'm going to go.
And I think this is a good idea.
Like, but it wasn't like, you know, pros and cons list and really thinking through every single
aspect. That's great. RTO baby. Okay. Love it dude.
RTO, let's get it. Thank you for having me on Brad. This is so fun.
Yes, brother. Will Severins, everybody. Yeah. Go on that run and we'll post some table sirs
podcasts soon enough
with stuff like that.
Come on, love you buddy.
See you.
Have a good day.
See you.
See you, buddy.
I can't wait to listen to table setters.
It's gonna be cool.
Dude, it is, it is fun.
We've recorded three episodes so far,
recording our fourth one this week.
And he's, he's just a good dude, man.
I mean, he's just, he's a different, different
style, different pace than Jake in so many ways, but at the same time, he's like super
goofy. I don't know. Have you met Will? You know, his brother drew chicken for some drone
drew. Yeah. Yeah. At least like once or twice. Okay. He is super like so many of my friends
are just so lovable, man, including Will. Will's just like one of those guys that he's got a smile that lights up a room
kind of thing. And he's just, yeah, he's sweet. So, um, anyway, it'll be it.
Yeah. The, the podcast has been good. I've just, in so many ways, we just kind
of sit down. He kind of has some kind of idea of what we're going to talk about
to an extent, but like we just kind of flow. Yeah. And even though it's more
intentional than the Ghost
Runner stuff is, it's still been really fun and easy going.
And so.
That's great.
Cool.
Fun.
OK, Willy Boy.
Willy J, as they call him.
That's great.
All right.
Let's move right along here to actually, oh, we
talked about doing some, let's do that at the end.
Let's do some Facebook reaction at the end. Let's just do all the game changers here. How about
we do this game changers, uh, Jake's thing. And then, uh, we'll do like, we'll kind of
sandwich it with some Facebook reaction. Cool. Yep. Um, Oh, New York, New York is calling
me. It's not, it doesn't say scam. So I'm not going to answer it. Yeah. And sorry,
we're doing a podcast in New York, New York. Well, shoot.
Was that Broadway though? I could have been, Oh, they, they heard, dude,
we were going to talk about this on Wednesday with Jake,
but I went to site and sound in Branson. I, I'm not even,
no, what are you laughing about? No, I'll just, it's, I just,
I can't wait to hear you. Dude. I think it's better than Broadway.
You think so that might make me like an old dad saying that but like it is on it was unbelievable, dude
Yeah, so I can't wait to hear about it. We'll talk more about it. All right next guy up
Celebrity of the pod here
Hey, what's going on
What's going on Steve Steve Triplett?
How are you, brother?
I'm doing good, my friend.
How are you doing?
I'm great.
Now that I have a triplet finally on the podcast, just been me in time in this whole time.
And I'm like, I don't know what to do without, you know, some, some gold Stratford in me.
So I have not talked to him barely.
We've texted very little, uh, and I have not even seen his Instagram updates.
So I am like almost blind to what's going on over there.
And I'm really excited when he gets back to hear all about it.
Have you talked to him much?
No, I say him attack just said, Hey, I appreciate the Instagram because he was putting on quite
a bit, you know, yeah, just so we know they're okay.
So you didn't see that. I wish I could pull
it up because I guarantee you he's a hungry boy. Oh really? Yeah. He's struggling through. I mean,
yeah, I think it put on something. He goes, I know people are going to give me a hard time for
ordering pizza, but here's what I've eaten in the last three days. And there wasn't a thing on there that, you know,
it was disgusting.
Jake is dying.
I bet, man.
I mean, yeah.
Whenever he said something last week about like,
yeah, it's not gonna be good for the shredding, you know,
when I'm vacation, now I'm going to China.
I'm like, dude, you might eat 400 calories a day in China because you're not gonna find anything to eat. So
Yeah, I'm fairly picky and I don't know I just but we were joking I said, you know, I I think Isaac's personality's like
Yeah, I'll eat it. They'll they'll throw it up
Talking I bet Isaac I bet Isaac is a king over there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I cannot wait to hear about Isaac.
I do feel like, yeah, he's going to like win some hearts real quick over there.
I agree.
Yeah.
He's going to be a king.
Yeah.
He's just going to be towering over everybody else.
Yeah.
Just, oh my gosh. It's I'm a king. Yeah. He's just going to be towering over everybody else. Yeah. Just, oh my gosh, it's I I'm so excited.
Yeah.
I think time and said, we might have to have five episodes about China because I mean,
you know, there's just going to be so much to, I mean, it's just crazy.
Like I was texting Jake the day before he left and I was like, Hey, before you leave
for China.
And then in parentheses, I was like, which is just such a crazy thing to say, you know,
can you please drop off some pickleball paddles for it? It's just like, like he's in China. I it's just
hard to even fathom the idea of that, you know, I will be glad when he gets home. Yes,
I bet. I feel that way even of just like, it's just not, not, not, not, you know, it's
not known. We don't know what's going on over there. So anyway,
um, all right, well, we're, we're, we're calling some different people talking about a game changer,
Steve. So, uh, do you have a game changer for us? Something in your life that has just changed the
game? I would love to hear about it. Absolutely not. No, but I, I did think, and I thought, well,
it's not really a game changer because you can't you really don't have control over it
But I would say after spending a week in Florida
Game changer is make sure your kids when your kids get older Brad
Just make sure they marry somebody that awesome. Yeah
You know Trish I were talking about because you know, I know the kids really don't want a vacation with us, you know
Oh, please
Well, I mean, you know
With her other options are probably I'm sure they're in the back room
I like when I we probably need to do this mom and dad sure
Yeah, but you know Caitlin Braden and Jake and Rachel came down and you know when you get older
You know, I would say your kids are
probably your closest friends. The contrition I've been talking about, if they said,
hey, we're going to take you on the greatest vacation, pick two other couples. Well, in our
lives now, it's like, oh shoot, we picked Caitlin, Braeden, Jake and Rachel. It was just so fun.
We picked, you know, Caitlin, Braden and Jake and Rachel. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I was just so fun And I think Rachel told me no on the trip one time I asked her about something and she said no
That Rachel you made my day
Thank you for
Finally telling me no and so yeah, she's finally comfortable enough to say that to you
Yeah, I think it was really hard for I can't even remember now when I asked her. She goes, no. That's amazing. Yeah.
You know, and then we were just talking to, you know, and then their families, you know, I mean, I think I've talked to Coop twice this week, just texting and stuff. And then
Braden's mom and dad, you know, we tried to go on vacation with them, but Braden's dad just, he just works. He's a farmer, right?
He's just, yeah, had a hard time to probably take off.
Braden said he's never finished a vacation with them.
Really?
He just can't handle it.
Yeah, because they were gonna go on the cruise
with us last year, and Tammy was all about it.
And she's like, I don't know what Dave's gonna do.
She said, because I guarantee it,
day two, he's gonna be getting off that boat coming home. He's gonna be, yeah, he's gonna be like, how do I, can I guarantee you, they too, he, he's going to be getting off that boat coming home.
He's going to be, yeah.
He's going to be like, how do I,
can I, can I maintain something on this boat?
Or can I call somebody about something interesting?
Well, I love, I mean, yeah, that's a great thought of like,
you can't, you can't control it.
Like you said, like you can't control the idea of
who your kids are going to marry, but at the same time,
what a big deal that is for, yeah, your future
and like for your grandchildren.
So lucky.
Now we prayed, I mean, good Lord, it was years and years
and years of praying for it, but you know,
you still get lucky.
Sure.
But yeah, Trish and I just, we've been talking all week
just about how blessed we are with our kids' choice
of who they married.
In fact, I even texted Steve
Cooke this morning. We are so, so lucky. Yeah. That's awesome, man. I love that. That is a
game changer. Yeah. Because I mean, that is the biggest, that's the biggest life change you've
had in a long time probably is going from, you know, just having two single kids to having two
married kids. And all of a sudden,
that's a, yeah, that's a,
your life is much different in the last two years
than it was before.
So love it, man.
That's great.
I've always talked about,
because we would, when the kids were single,
we would always say,
this is the best time right now
because we don't have to share them with anybody.
We know they're gonna be here every Christmas, every Thanksgiving.
And then we were a little bit nervous about, okay, well now we're going to have to start
sharing them.
But no, we love sharing them.
Now you literally will go on things together.
Yeah, like you're saying, like you'll go on vacations all together, which is so fun.
That's amazing.
So it's, you know, it's, so yeah, sorry. I have no wisdom for you and I have no way to control
what game changer is, but for us it's definitely the kids
and their selection.
So,
Hey, I think, I think wisdom is pray,
pray for your kids' spouses.
I think I'm convicted by that of like, all right,
I'm not, I'm not doing that super consistently right now.
So, and that's a big deal.
So yeah, well, maybe, maybe that's the wisdom.
You will when she starts dating the wrong guy. Right. Yeah.
You'll be a little Billy Graham when she starts dating the guy.
You're like, oh, all of a sudden I'm an evangelist on the streets.
Yeah. Showing people my daughter's picture of like, hey, yeah.
Oh my gosh.
Bo's going to bring home something, oh no Bo.
Yeah, yeah, your prayer life definitely increases
over your children, and I can promise you that.
I can believe that.
I know that's not the right way to do it,
but that's the truth.
I love it, man, that's great.
All right, well hey, thank you for talking to us
and being willing to get on here.
We needed some kind of triplet in our presence here.
So if we can't get the wonderful Jake,
we'll settle for you, Steve.
Well, I appreciate what you guys do.
And so I'm gonna put you on the spot.
Are we going to Silver Dollar City this year as a group?
I don't know yet.
I mean, I don't know about this year.
Well, I don't know.
I just went this past weekend, Steve, with my family.
We went to Sight and Sound in Silver Dollar City.
And Branson is so fun.
So no matter what, let's you and I go to Silver Dollar City
with my kids.
How about that?
What did your kids think of it?
They loved it, man.
I mean, and we had really open expectations of like,
maybe we'll be there for one hour. Maybe they'll be there for, you know, man. I mean, and we had really open expectations of like, maybe we'll be there for one hour,
maybe they'll be there for, you know, whatever.
And we were there like almost the whole day.
We didn't even scratch the surface though
of all the things you can do there and all the shows.
You know, we missed the him sing, Steve.
We really wanted to go to that.
So no, they loved it though.
I mean, they were just enamored by everything.
They were looking around and seeing and everything.
So it's a blast. I mean, yeah were just enamored by everything they were looking around and seeing and everything so
It's a blast. I mean, yeah, everything about it
They would love it honestly and yeah, anyway, it'd be so fun. So let's make it happen. But yeah, I can't promise anything
we haven't talked any kind of other events besides the Gulf Shores event, but
Would love to it was a fun easy event last year would love to. I mean, it was a fun, easy event last year.
That was fun.
It was special.
Yeah.
So, yeah.
All right, brother.
Hey, have a great rest of your day
and thanks for joining the pod.
All right. See you, brother.
All right. See you, man.
Good old Steve.
All right, Tymon, May 11th.
Do you know what that signifies?
The 11th day in May.
That's right.
Catherine's birthday.
Also, Timon, don't forget it's Mother's Day.
All right?
I think Father's Day, you can forget it if you need to.
I don't think that the fathers care that much.
Mothers care, Timon.
Yeah.
When you think about, we just talked to my mom earlier in this episode.
You think of a mom, you think of resilience.
You think of care.
You think of love.
You think of all mom, you think of resilience, you think of care, you think of love, you think of all these different wonderful things.
And that's why your mom needs, yeah, needs to be appreciated on this Mother's Day.
And so we are sponsored today by Cozy Earth.
And I'm not saying it's the only way you can sponsor or support love, appreciate your mom
on Mother's Day.
It might, but it might be, it's, it's, there's no proof either way. It might. But it might be. It might be. There's no proof either way.
It's certainly one of the ways.
I am getting my mom some pajamas.
Mom, whoops, that's a spoiler alert, I guess,
but I'm getting you some pajamas
for Mother's Day from Cozy Earth.

And tell them we sent you.
Yeah, tell them the Ghostrunners sent you. That was a good game changer. That was a good game changer.
I, uh, yeah, I think, uh, I think that's something, like I said, we're not, we're not thinking
about, I'm sure you're not thinking. No, not yet. No, not really. But at the same time,
I'm sure your parents are thinking about it and how old were your parents when they got
married? Do you have any idea?
I think I want to say my mom was like 20. That was like 20 other like eight years apart. It's like, okay, maybe is that crazy to think about? Like you're like, you're almost as old as that is
pretty wild. Cause you're 19. Yeah, almost 19. Okay. Yeah. This month. Holy cow. When's your birthday?
So I don't forget. Holy cow. Okay. Birthday month. We got Bo May 5th. Bo's May
5th, Catherine's May 11th and now you're May 15th. Okay. Yeah. All right. Remember that
Brad. I'll put that in the calendar. Everyone wish happy birthday of time and on May 15th.
That way I'll know. Yeah. Then I got to get married, I guess. So that's crazy. Huh? Isn't
that crazy? That is crazy. Wait, today's May 1st. Is this when you move in?
I actually moved in on Monday. Oh you did. Yeah, okay here
It was like 25 minute drive instead of well like 22 minute drive instead of 35 Wow
Yeah, baby. Yeah, what have you okay? So today's Thursday you moved on Monday. Yeah, what have you?
Talked to me about yeah, just being in a new spot. I don't know. I mean, yeah, it's what have you noticed?
I think, yeah, it's been a game changer.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Say, let's talk about it.
But yeah, it's like, I don't know
if I have that many crazy things to share.
It's just been cool.
Like, I just feel more flexible.
Like, I'm more central.
I can like, oh, someone wants to like hang out for a second.
Sure.
I mean, I'm in Olathe.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And you're pretty close to the highway, which is always so nice. Yeah. It's great.
I mean, this is just like kind of sounds silly, but like it's very relevant. Wifi is like so much
better than at home. So like, this is like my job. I can like where I live, I can also like work
comfortably instead of at home. I was like, I gotta go to the library or like find a,
Yeah. You would always like stay here to like upload everything. Yeah. So I can upload stuff there.
library or like find a, yeah. You would always like stay here to like, oh yeah. What everything. Yeah. So I can upload stuff there. Um, that's crazy to think of like things like that.
I know. Yeah. And then, yeah, I'm still like trying to figure out stuff I can decorate my room with.
Okay. But what do you, what do you, posters? What are you, what are we thinking? I don't know.
Yeah. I mean, I want to, maybe I'll put like a family picture up there, but like,
I think I have this like, um, a couple Bible Bible verse like hanging things from my old room. Okay
I don't know. Maybe posters of some kind. Cool. Yeah, Hattie just had what was called a wanna Mart last night
So like she has a one on Wednesdays and at the end of every year
They save up all these Oh wanna dollars or bucks or whatever
That's papasos that they can spend after they like memorize scripture, they get whatever
these bucks and she bought a massive, massive, like would take up not that whole wall, but
like a large part of that wall of like a old or no new Testament map of like Israel.
And like, so if you need anything for your wall, uh, how do you, how do you would have
to like, you know, approve of it?
I think she probably wants it for her room, but it was so much bigger than I think she realized.
And so she's like, I don't know where I put this. That's funny. Anyway, I just thought
of that. Like, you know, you got some Bible verses you got, you know, Israel up there
with Bethlehem and yeah, whatever. Anyway, that's yeah. So have you gotten grocery shopping
yet? Yes. First day. Yeah. I was like, wow, pretty expensive. But then, then again, it was like a lot of things I like, won't buy very often.
Okay.
That'll last me a while.
I mean, I'm one person, you know, you kind of invest in a jam and so that
lasts me like several months, you know, you'll be, yeah, you'll be fine on jam
for a while, right?
Uh, there's that Aldi by you kind of, you know, that is like over by my mom
calls it the secret target.
You know, the target down there.
There's like, I really haven't explored much yet.
Okay, down 151st, like whatever,
there's like a Tripotle target.
Oh yeah, I know where that target is, yeah.
There's a, my mom calls it the secret target.
Because it's like no one ever goes to that one.
Okay.
That Aldi is like supposedly the best one in Kansas City
because like it's really close to the headquarters,
like the regional headquarters. And so anyway, if you're going to Aldi, yeah.
Yeah.
There's like a neighborhood Walmart type thing. Like, yep. My dad, my dad's a big neighborhood
market guy right there. So you might run into him. Isaac ran into him multiple times there.
That's awesome. Getting bananas and orange juice or something. But, um, cool. But yeah,
I'm excited. It's been fun so far. Yeah. Yeah. You and Grayden hanging out. Uh huh.
Fun dude. That's, that's great. And you're there for five months. What's it? What's the duration?
Four and a half. Okay. Yeah. Till like mid September. Fun dude. Yeah. That's so, I mean,
it's just, it's like, you're getting the best of both worlds as far as college goes. Cause it's
like, yeah, you're getting the fun times, but like also, you don't have to, you're getting paid. You
have a job that you like, you know? So, and it's nice because I'm not,
it's not like I'm stuck.
It's like, I know I can head back home if I need to.
I can also find somewhere else in like in several months.
Yes.
Yeah.
I'm excited.
That's great, dude.
All right.
I'm gonna, I'm gonna try to call Catherine.
I don't know if I've really confirmed
whether or not she wants to do this.
So she answered, she just texted me a picture and said, when you have zero food for breakfast
at home, but you're a fun mom and go to Chick-fil-A for breakfast.
She is fun.
Mom, she's taking a selfie with all the kids, but, um, so it might be chaos.
She might not answer.
She might not even be around her phone, this girl, but, um, would love to hear what she
has to say about this topic.
Your call has been forwarded to voicemail.
Ouch. Do you have a personalized voicemail?
I think I did for a while. And then I would like, every time I would happen to
like remember I had it, I would listen back and hate it. So I just like set it to the default.
I should probably take mine off. I think, yeah, I think mine's pretty bad.
For the longest time, I think we talked about the podcast, but Isaac's was like him from when he first got his phone,
when he was 12 years old or something. And he sounded so mad about it. He's like,
this is Isaac. Thanks for calling my phone. Leave me a message. Thanks.
He left there forever. All right.
I like making it a secret of who we're calling.
Yeah, that's great.
Let's call this guy.
I'm in suspense.
Yeah.
See if you can guess who it is.
It's a guy.
It's a guy.
OK.
Hello.
Hey, buddy.
Who do you think this is, Timon?
Scott?
No.
No.
Hello. Hello, can you hear Scott? No? No. Hello?
Hello, can you hear us?
I can hear you.
Can you hear me?
We can hear you.
I'm trying to.
I didn't tell Timon who we were calling,
so I'm trying to have Timon guess.
OK.
Oh, man.
No pressure.
I don't know.
I thought it was Scott for a second.
I answered this phone call from my glasses.
Oh, gadget guy over here.
Gadget guy, baby.
That's funny.
Gadget guy.
Gadget guy.
Would you consider,
Tymon, would you consider yourself a gadget guy?
I think I'm like a half gadget guy.
Half, half, yeah.
I don't have like the-
Tymon, Tymon, if you're gonna do anything in life,
do a full send, okay?
You're right.
There's no half gadget guys.
Be a full gadget guy or don't be a gadget guy.
Don't be a gadget.
That's a good word.
That's the decision you have to make today.
Okay, from here I'm gonna go buy a bunch of gadgets.
I think, TJ, I think when I first like-
Spend as much money as possible on gadgets today.
Great, yeah.
They'll never go obsolete.
Nope.
They'll never create a cheaper, better version. Yeah. They'll never go obsolete. Nope. They'll never create a cheaper, better version.
Yeah. I think when I first labeled you as a gadget guy, you were almost offended by it. And now
you're really leaning into it. I'm accepted that. Yeah. I think Brooke's support of it has helped me
to accept it. That is that that's marriage for you right there. Like all of a sudden it's like,
yeah. Brother, how are you? I'm good.
I just recorded the walk in love podcast.
Okay.
So I'm locked in on podcasting right now.
What's the, what was the summary of walk in love today?
Today was, what are you saying no to in this season?
And it was all about just like when we say no to something,
we're saying yes to something or we're saying,
or when you're saying yes to something, we're saying no to something.
Sure. And like how to balance that and the rhythm of that and all that kind of stuff. So it's good talk. Brooke's kind of taking over the podcast. Cool. A little bit since I've got so much going on. So she's coming up with topics and I'm just showing up.
I'm just showing up. That's kind of fun.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's a fun, fun feeling of just like,
all right, let's do this thing.
Cool.
All right.
I'll shout out your business real quick
for anybody in Pennsylvania that wants to sell,
or wants to buy solar roofs, go to TJ.
Well, you don't even have to buy them, do you?
There's no buying involved.
Yeah.
Cost up front, we're gonna lower your electricity bill.
Wow. First energy, Med-Ed, Penn Power, West Penn Power. I'll just announce an eight and a half
percent increase. PPL announced a 16% increase. Whoa. Rates are going up. They're going up, baby.
But not for you. Not if you have solar. Not if you have solar. That is crazy. Everything you've
told me about it's like, why wouldn't you, so if you're if you're interested go to
Check out TJ going solar in PA comm right and
Yeah, tell him tell him the Ghostrunner sent you I always I always like when people say yeah
Oh tell the big daddy sit yeah
We'll upgrade you did not send anyone yet.
I believe in you.
Find some people in Pennsylvania to send his way.
So yeah, make some gadgets.
Request and people will be here in no time.
That's right.
1000 bucks.
All right, teach.
We're doing, we're doing game changers today.
Okay.
And yeah, serious, not so serious, whatever you have for us.
We've just been calling some different people
around the globe hearing about some game changers.
OK, I got one that I'm looking at right now.
So I'm in my office right now.
On my wall, I have this thing called the big A calendar.
Yes.
The A can stand for whatever you want it to stand for.
But it does say A, and then it has two hashtags after it.
So okay.
So it's probably a three letter word.
Yeah, it's a three letter word, but that's how I spell awesome.
So I call it the big awesome calendar.
Okay.
My daughter's always like, what does the A mean?
It means awesome.
It means awesome.
Yeah, big awesome calendar.
Yep.
So it is this guy named Jesse, or some guy sells it.
If you look up big A calendar online,
you'll find his website.
It is the whole year on one basically giant
like whiteboard calendar.
And it, so I bought it this year,
but I didn't buy it to like plan my year out.
Although I do have some things on there.
Like we have the fall collection
The Christmas collection have some trips that I'm doing. I have my 40th birthday weekend, which Brad is coming to hello
Hello
He just has to put it on the calendar. So Katherine knows about it
No problem, I'll call her after this yeah, yeah
But I've been using it. So I have all the I
bought these like sticker sheets with like little colored stickers, like circle stickers. And so
it's all the things that I want to track this year. And every day that I do one of those things,
I put a little sticker on the day of the block. Okay. And so I'm looking at April, March, February,
and January. And I see all these stickers filling it up. And it's like, okay, yeah, actually, I'm looking at April, March, February, and January, and I see all these stickers filling
it up.
But it's like, okay, yeah, actually, I'm doing stuff.
I'm moving forward.
I'm accomplishing the things that I hope to accomplish.
Because I think in the moment, you sometimes feel like, have I done anything with my life?
Have I done anything today?
Like, do I prioritize anything?
Like you can kind of sort of feel that like chaotic swirl.
The calendar is the game changer that has helped me not feel like I'm not doing
anything with my life, but not in the way I think it was originally designed
for. So yeah, that's my game changer.
I love that.
I, yeah.
And I love, I mean, I was going to say that that, if that's not gadget guy,
that's at least gadget guy adjacent.
Yeah, that's gadget adjacent. It's like, uh, you know, it's, it is, it that's not gadget guy, that's at least gadget guy adjacent
It's like, you know, it's it is it is paper, you know, it's yeah board paper like, you know, it's not
Technology, but yeah, I look up there and then Brooks started using one as well because he says they sent us to by accident I was like you guys want this back now. Keep it nice
So Brooks using one and she's tracking her old the things that matter to her right now is hers
Does the a stand for awesome for her too? Yeah, okay good for her
That is cool though he's like
Yeah
that's how long did that take on the front end to like do all that like
Like are you writing stuff down on there a lot or is it more?
Just no, it's it's literally just Like, are you writing stuff down on there a lot or is it more just?
No, it's literally just like I have,
so there's one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
eight colored stickers.
There's a purple one, that means LOI,
that means I presented solar to someone.
Light green is they sign it up for solar,
dark green is they got installed.
Pink is date with one of my four girls
or all four girls at once or a combination of girls.
Red is date with Brooks, blue is workouts,
yellow is Bible reading and then orange is Sabbath
and or like a vacation day.
Cool.
And so yeah, so those are just the stickers that I have
but it's been super helpful.
And then I have like, you know, we do a tea of the week
for walk in love. So I have all those like little pictures of those posted up there. So I kind of know okay that one's coming
Let me get that ready all that stuff. Yeah, I love that
I love the visual see the full year. Yeah once yeah, cuz it kind of shows you like oh I did like all this has happened already
but we still have more than half a year to go sure and
Yeah, and it's there's something really satisfying about putting up those
stickers every day. Yeah. Yeah.
It feels very accomplishing.
I like that. I like that a lot. I don't,
I don't know if I'm going to commit to it quite yet because I don't know where
I'd put it in my small house. But besides that, I like the idea.
My house is so big. You know, it's like a mansion.
You're doing just fine, brother. You know, just fine.
Hey, last week I gave you a hard time on the podcast.
Did anybody tell you about it yet?
No.
We were just talking randomly about,
what episode was that, Tyman?
I don't remember.
I think it was Monday.
I think it was Mondays.
Yeah, it was Mondays.
We were talking about just like different ways
that people say different things.
And I haven't confronted you about this personally,
but then I can find-
Gosh, I'm gonna get so mad right now, aren't I?
No, no, not at all.
Yes, get so mad.
No, I'm just kidding.
I don't think it's any-
Oh, watch TJ raise your breath.
I think it's truly just like a regional thing
is that you say the word where a bunch of people,
like the NCAA
basketball like that, that play like March madness is an NCAA basketball. What tournament
tournament? Yeah. You say tour and I said, like you say T O R R tournament. And I say
turn like T U R N tournament.
And I say tournament too.
I think that was like, I think you have no accent towards
like the Northeast except that sounds like a tournament.
Tournament.
I don't say water or anything like that.
But like, you, cause we were talking about Bethki
and like integrated and you're like, yeah,
we're having a tournament.
And I just like loved the way you said that I was like who are you
right now and so Jake and I went off on yeah let's go let's go to Brooklyn and
get some hot dogs and you know whatever with the. The Tour de France, Tour de France.
Tour de France, Tour de France, yeah.
I would say Tour de France.
You would say Tour, Tour de France.
Yeah.
We're going on the Tour de France.
Hey, what do you think about that?
Hey Jimmy, we're going to the Tour de France
to watch Lance Armstrong.
Dude, you're decently close to Baltimore.
Do you know, like, have you heard their accent very much?
Their accent is wild.
I try to stay away at all costs.
I've heard a few people like talking like Ravens fans,
oh, Joe Flacco.
I don't know, like the way that they say that.
Anyway, Tymon, did you look up the big A calendar
and did you use safe search when you did it?
Yeah, I made sure to turn on incognito. No, I actually looked at I'm like, I kind of want this. Yeah, this is really
cool. I mean, you're good. That's if you get that you got you've got full gadget guy. That's
my that's my transition. Yeah. Yeah. I think I tell you guys one story about solar that
I think you'll really like, please. Okay, So I'm in my first week and most of this job is going door to door, which like when you
tell people that as a man in their late thirties, they're like, are you addicted to drugs?
What has happened to you that has caused you to take a door to door job?
Whatever.
So I'm in my first week.
I'm going door to door.
It's mostly pleasant.
People are honestly super nice.
Some people say no very nicely.
Some people say yes, like whatever, it's no big deal.
So I'm in this neighborhood, I'm like,
it's a hard thing to do.
Like you have to like work up the courage to be like,
all right, I'm gonna do this,
I'm gonna do this for a couple hours.
Even if I get 500 no's in a row, I'm just gonna keep going.
And so I'd have one of those days
where I was like feeling discouraged
and I go to this woman's door and knock the door
and I can hear dogs barking.
And so I'm waiting there and this elderly woman,
maybe in her seventies, maybe pushing 80 comes out
to the front door,
but she is only wearing a very thin light tank top
with nothing underneath.
And so immediately I feel very uncomfortable.
My eyes bounce straight up.
I'm like, oh, hey, what, you know, oh God.
Like literally tongue tied, which is not common for me.
And then her dogs start to try to run out the door.
And so now she's holding back dogs.
And just imagine the motion
of holding back dogs and shaking from side to side with an eight year old woman with
a very light tank top on. So I left that house immediately. And I called Brooke and I was
like, I think I got to put this shop. I can't, I'm not cut out for this. Oh
My gosh nothing ever
Like you know, it's just like you look at yourself in the mirror like but then I went home
I looked at my calendar and I thought hey, I got some I got some stickers on this week. I'm gonna
Yeah, what color was that sticker?
I've actually cut it out.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No day will be like, yeah.
December 12th ever again.
That's the thing you were doing in the winter too.
What's she doing in the winter?
The winter was rough.
Yeah.
The winter is rough.
But what's she doing in just a tank top in winter?
Yeah, I don't know.
I don't know.
I literally don't know.
You were just like so many questions I had, but I could not ask them.
And I was just like, you know what? You're not interested. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Trust me. She's like, no, come on in. I'm interested. You're good.
No, no, no. I'm allergic to dogs. So, so, so put those dog, put those away.
I mean, put the dogs away.
Just cover up your dogs.
Cover up those puppies. We'll see you later.
Oh my gosh. That is, you know, I mean, that's gotta be the biggest thrill of the whole thing is every time you knock on a door, you never know who's opening that thing or what the,
what the house is going to look like.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I have other stories about just the houses we've been in.
Most of them are great, but there's like probably 2% that you're just like, am I going to die
in here today?
Yes.
Is this where I get murdered?
This is why you have the gadget so that if you do die, they can figure out exactly what
happened.
They can track me, they can find me.
They've got all my data.
They know where I am.
How are those glasses sweet?
Have you seen those Meta glasses?
I've heard they're Meta Ray-Ban ones.
Yep.
Cool.
Those look super sweet.
So yours look like they're prescription, though.
Is that right?
Yeah, mine are prescription.
So I'm excited about all the content, like the point of view
content that I can make. Cool. I'm excited to see it content like the point of view content that I can make cool. I'm excited to see it
That's fun, man. All right, we have one more calls
I'm gonna call Jensen next. Do you want me to say anything to Jensen?
Here's my
Impression of Jensen. Oh, I don't have any game changers. My life's perfect. I'm best best friend
I'm going to a tournament
Fancy rich guys. Oh, he's so fancy. It's so rich that youth pastor life you faster salaries is
flowing
It's so fun, all right, buddy. I love you. I'll talk to you later. I love you too, man. See you. He does have like this like hilarious.
That's so funny. Cause I was thinking like, does TJ, has CJ met Jensen? I was like,
yeah, that's yeah. No, he's never met him. Uh, but I kind of, I, I really became really close
friends with Jensen and TJ within like
the last, or with like the same year.
Yeah.
And so, so much of like, whenever I would hang out with TJ, I'd be like, yeah, you know,
and Jensen does, he's like enough with the Jensen stuff.
But apparently Jensen is one of his best friends in Ohio.
It says the same thing about me of like, all right, you know, like who's this Brad?
The new guy.
Yeah. That's funny. So, uh, yeah, all right, you know, like who's this Brad? The new guy. Yeah.
That's funny.
So yeah, let me, let me call Jensen.
See if he's, see if he's available here.
All right, Tymon, I have a problem.
I need to vent it real quick.
What is it?
I don't know if it's you, if it's your problem.
Like if you're the one causing it or not.
Okay.
But 85, over 85% of grass fed beef
sold in the U S stores is imported.

He's fun. This is Jensen, ghosty Jensen, who became a friend. 1004. He said he was
wrapping up a meeting. They're praying. So you think 1010 is good enough for
them? How long is his prayer? I mean, what, what denomination, you know? Yeah.
Still praying. He said, Oh baby. And he's texting while praying. That's
funny. That's amazing. Uh, I think that we've been recording for a while here
time. Well, are we recording the video timing?
We are, yes.
Believe it or not.
Man, you felt so bad about that.
It's one of those things, I think,
I really get excited to extend grace to other people like that.
Like you were like-
And I was thinking like, man, yeah.
I mean, if someone did that that I was involved with, I wouldn't, it'd be fine.
I had to keep telling myself that.
And yeah, you were encouraging, so yeah.
But man, I was beating myself up.
Oh, I remember, yeah.
There was one time in college,
my friend and I both led worship on Sunday mornings.
I had different churches.
And I borrowed his guitar, pedal, tuner or or whatever kind of expensive, like thing that you need,
like you need to tune your guitar every single time or else you're in trouble.
And I brought it with me to church,
did not see his text asking about it for a long time.
And I just remember he texted me back and he just said, no problem, dude,
grace abounds or there's grace or something like that.
And I've ever since then, I've always been like, yeah, all right. Like there's always great. Like it's like, yeah, who cares if we didn't have
video for, you know, especially because if you know, you know, on the other end, if I did something
that would inconvenience you, you would be like, yeah, dude, it's okay. Stop, stop. Whatever.
Catherine just texted me and said, should I call you back? So she's calling me. Great.
My beautiful wife. Hello, baby. Oh, hi. How
are you? Good. You're on the podcast. Oh, good. You're a fun mom. I'm a fun mom, right?
That's so fun. So here you are, chicken biscuit. Come on. That's good stuff. Yeah, that's good. There you go. Hey, how are you? We're talking
about game changers. We've gotten some fun ones. We've talked to my mom, Will Severns,
Gunner, TJ, Steve Triplett, somebody else. Oh my gosh. Talk to everybody. Maybe you,
maybe you're a little, yeah. And then Jensen's going to call here in a little bit. So Somebody else. My gosh. Talk to everybody. Maybe you.
Maybe you're a little, yeah.
And then Jensen's going to call here in a little bit.
So do you have anything in your life either right now or forever?
You know, what was it?
What's a game changer when you think of game changer?
What do you think of?
Oh, let me think of game changers.
We went to Branson last weekend.
We had a lot of fun and I slept pretty poorly both nights because the mattress
we were in had a hole.
I could call it a bowl.
I basically slept in a bowl.
Um, and I say that because game changer, I've since I've been home, I've been
sleeping so great on our mattress.
Yeah.
Change is a good mattress.
I know that makes me sound like I'm 80, but no, um, invested
in a good mattress people. That's what I, yeah. 100%. Ours is tufted needle recommendation.
Yep. I love it. It's actually the more firm one. Um, I forget what they call it. What
is mint? I think my NT. Yes. Which when you and I were buying it, I didn't want this one. I like softer beds.
I think we need more firm.
And I was nice and didn't say anything.
So I didn't think I was going to like it, but I like it.
It's great.
Yeah.
Because maybe if the-
We've been working for years and years and there's no holes or bowls.
Yeah, we have no bowls.
No bowls in the bed.
No bowls in the bed.
That's what I always say.
That's why I'm always so passionate about talking about Cozy Earth because of like,
hey, if you can sleep well, like everything else is transformed.
So yes, that's good.
I know.
I sleep in my Cozy Earth pajamas and my Cozy Earth sheets with my Cozy Earth comforter.
Yes.
And I sleep amazing.
So it must be working.
There you go.
That's so good.
Okay. That's a great game changer be working. There you go. That's so good. Okay. Um,
that's a great game changer, Catherine. Thank you. Uh,
Oh, you got more. Okay, sure.
I slept really well last night. That's great. So, yeah,
I wonder why, like specifically last night.
I mean, I haven't seen that. I'm saying I've been thinking as well every night since being home and back in my bed.
OK, yeah, it makes a difference.
100 percent because that bed was comfortable in Branson.
But if it's not your bed, you liked it.
Yeah, yeah, I did.
I did not.
OK, I get my juices flowing.
Tell me a couple of the other game changers that have been shared.
I mean, we've had we've had all sorts of different things. Rosie, Rosie.
Stop.
He was trying to happily let him do that.
Oh, Rosie girl.
My mom talked about her love of jigsaw puzzles.
Will talked about an idea called relinquish the outcome, RTO.
TJ talked about this calendar that he puts on his wall.
That's a big, a super big, awesome calendar.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Let's see.
Steve Triplet didn't really have a great one.
He said, but he said having spouses or having your kids marry great spouses.
I know.
Maybe think I need to pray for Hattie and the rest of the kids' spouses more.
Sure.
And Gunner had two different people,
Garrett Gibson and Peter Casey, that's his.
So.
Oh, that's nice too, Garrett.
Yeah.
I mean, I'm Gunner.
Gunner.
Do you have any more?
It's okay if you don't.
I'm Hattie, don be quiet, please. Thank you.
Any other game changers?
Um...
I don't know.
Half-cloth has been good for me lately.
Yeah, you're on the coffee train
every day now. You were trying to go every other day.
I am talking about becoming a mom.
I was even talking to a friend in Branson of how
I feel like I'm getting close to being a mom that has
an afternoon cup of coffee. I think I'm reaching that friend in Branson of how I feel like I'm getting close to being the mom that has an afternoon cup of coffee.
I think I'm reaching that point in life.
You know, was that I think I'm about there.
Was that friend in Branson, your celebrity excited crush or not a celebrity crash?
Have you?
Sorry.
No, we haven't talked about it.
Oh, you want to tell it? Sure. Yeah, real quick.
Okay.
At Silver Dollar City, I was standing in line to order food for lunch and you had some kids
with you probably taking them to the bathroom or something.
So anyway, so I was standing there in line.
It was like looking around and I was just thinking of like, okay, well me being from
Texas, I know a lot of Texas people, but now we live in Kansas City, we know a lot of
Kansas City people. I was like, maybe I'll run it like, you
don't run into someone we know here, we have Kana connections,
that would be kind of fun. And so I'm kind of looking around,
and I see this one guy, and I'm like, Oh, he looks kind of
familiar. Do I know him? Yeah, I think I do. Yeah, I think I do.
I think that's Tyler Vining and then his wife, Madison Vining, which maybe half
your listeners will know.
Maybe a lot of ideas.
I'm talking about 10% of our listeners.
I bet.
Yeah, I know.
Your father, I mean, she's big.
She's big.
A lot of time is looking up right now.
There's no way time a dozer.
Yeah.
I mean, it's been doing it for years and years. Anyway, it doesn't matter. She lives in Tulsa,
lives on a, on some land and has a bunch of kids. Home schools sold essential oils for a while. Now
sells raw milk. No, no, no. I don't know what she sells now. Doesn't matter. Anyway. And so I,
it's the right kind of when I saw her is when you walked back up.
I was like, oh my gosh, Brad, that's Madison Bynum.
And typical Brad, you were like, oh,
you should go to say hi.
Oh my gosh, you should say hi and that you love her
and you love all of her.
And typical Catherine, I was like, no, why do I agree?
Like don't do it.
Yeah.
No, and I could tell from the way you were talking
that you were like, I'll do it. And I was like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, don't do it. Yeah. No, I could tell from the way you were talking that you were like, I'll do it. And I was like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no lunch and you again were gone. Maybe you were getting a refill or something. I don't know where you were. I was, I was taking the kids to go to the bathroom like four different times.
Doesn't matter. Yeah, I know. Sorry. Um, so anyway, so then you walked back up leading
Madison Vining to our table and she just like walks up and it's like, hi, and I was like a little
bit starstruck, but also I'm not, I mean, I like her.
I follow her obviously, but I'm not like an all in.
It's not like I've bought all her products.
I don't buy every link she put.
Like there's another influencer that I follow.
You know who I'm talking about, Brad.
But if she posts a link, I'm probably buying three of them because I'm just like, well,
okay.
And so I'm just not quite that way with
that. And I still like her a lot, but anyway, so it was a little bit awkward because I was like,
oh gosh, do you think I'm like a big super fan because I'm not that super of a fan.
So anyway, um, so yeah, she came up to give me a hug and talked. It was very nice and very normal.
Yep. So there you go people followed Madison Vining if you'd like to. Sure. There you go. Okay. So game changer is have a husband who does things even when you don't want
them to. I guess. I'm just kidding. All right. I'm going to call Jensen back, but thank you for
sharing this. It was a fun, fun memory. And it was for the record, it was like, I was coming back and
they were like crossing paths with me me I did not go and like intentionally
Talk to them. Okay. Okay. Okay. So alright. I love you. Thanks for being a great wife and mom
All right, yeah
All right that yeah, it was fun
That is funny
Because because if someone like and I know that she has like 500,000 followers, so she's like big, bigger.
But like if someone comes and says hi to me or if someone ever says like, I saw you at McLean's, I didn't want to say hi.
I'm like, always say hi.
Like, please.
Like, I don't know.
Maybe I'm a lot smaller in fame than Madison Vining, but still I'm just
like, gotta.
So, yeah.
All right.
Let's call Jensen real quick and we'll wrap this bad boy up.
Cool.
Bro.
What a prayer.
That was a, that was a, that was a, I'll tell you what's not a game changer. I'm just joking. They say don't let your prayers just, you know,
like just draw on forever.
Yeah, they're pretty like the Pharisees.
Right, yeah.
Yeah, I was, he's right, I was religious this morning.
My bad.
My bad, dude.
How are you, man?
Oh, excellent.
Yeah, who do we got on here right now?
Are you riding solo? No, it's me and Big T. What's up, Jensen? Oh, Big T, what a dude, excellent. Yeah. Who do we got on here right now? Are you riding solo? No, it's me and me and big T. What's up, Jensen? Oh, big T. What to do though?
I just talked on the phone. Well, I just talked to Catherine, but right before her was TJ, my friend, and he has an inside joke. I think I've told you about this because you said Jacob's kind of the same way where it's like, oh, you're going to call Jensen next. Oh, great. Let me guess. Great.
Let me guess. He has huge biceps. Yeah. Let me guess. Yeah. He was like, he's really rich.
He's going to some fancy event and you know, all these different things. So, uh, it's out.
And I was like, yeah, that youth pastor salary is just, just knocking down doors. Healthy
budget at the church. That's right. Plenty. That's how. That's nice. So anyway, hey, let's talk about
your game changer. I know I text you about it. If you yeah, what's it go to game changer?
What's that mean to you? Game changer. Well, what did what did CJ said? Did he give like
two? It was he just pretty clear and concise. Just one answer. TJ.
I got a couple.
I got a little note running.
Please.
No, everybody's different.
That's what's beautiful about this is.
Okay.
I would love to hear your note.
Okay.
Great.
Here we go.
Number one, ghost runners get away, baby.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
We got one male spot left.
Hit that like, hit that subscribe button.
Sign on up people.
Hit that subscribe button for the getaway.
Two, you ready for this?
I like to pack a go bag.
So whenever I leave my house, like I typically like spending my day going from like nine
in the morning, nine at night.
And I don't really like going back home
to grab anything. So I just pack a bag full of everything that I would probably need. So like
change of clothes, toiletry bag, towel, and I just go for it. Really? How often are you needing the
toiletry bag? I guess for like deodorant or something? Like if you go like work out or whatever?
I wish that was my answer, but actually I actually I like wait actually still haven't brushed my
teeth today okay you just like literally are getting out the door with this bag
I'm gonna get it yeah but then also like I like eating breakfast and then like I
don't like doing brushing teeth and then breakfast so I wait later in the day to
do that interesting Interesting. Okay.
And most people probably don't
because they don't have to go back.
Well, most people probably don't
because they hate themselves.
Yeah. Yeah, I know.
I like that though.
Next one. Okay.
Yeah, thank you.
Phone wallet.
Really?
Yeah, love.
Really?
Yeah. You trying to get your hips out of place, bro. I don't know
what it is. Like every time I see somebody that has one of those, I'm like, you paid
too much money for that. And so you're forcing yourself to like it. That's how I feel about
those things. Well, I got mine for, you know, bargain. It was like 2331 or something.
I know exactly how much you're paying the exact change.
Okay.
But you because why?
Yeah.
Why is that so good?
Jensen?
Well, yeah, it's a great question.
I mean, I think that I was having sciatica.
I was having like pain in my hip because I think I was legit just sitting on my wallet
all day.
But then also I realized like I would pull out my wallet like, why do I even have this
card anymore?
And then I was like, this doesn't even have cash in it.
This literally just has receipts from like 2014.
You know, it's like all these things that I didn't actually need.
And then it was super helpful.
And like whenever I travel, like go to certain
places, I could just like, you know, look at my ID, put it back in, I could put my little
like plane ticket in one of the slots. But here's the problem. The downside of it is
when you go to take pictures. Actually, there's a picture that I took on the pheasant hunting
trip where I was literally holding my phone like an old man, because in order to take
the picture, you like have to like move one of the flaps out of the way.
So I'm controlling it like an iPad.
Me and Jake are putting on the eye black
and I'm like holding, I'll send it to you.
We were like, I was like holding the phone
like an iPad, like an old dad.
Yeah.
I was trying to find it.
So yeah, cause you have the phone case that flaps open.
Like it's not just like a, you know,
cards in the back kind of phone case, right?
Right. Exactly. Yes. It's, it's the one that flaps over. So like it has kind of a built-in screen
protector, I guess you could say. Yeah. Here you go. I'm sending it to you now. I'm like trying to
take a picture of Jake putting on. Yeah. We'll put that on there.
It looks like a dad, like proud of his son.
Honestly, a pretty cool picture though.
That's pretty fun.
That's hilarious, dude.
Yeah, Catherine actually has the same kind of phone case.
I mean, not, yeah, hers is a flapper
and she's never complained about it.
So hers is like magnetic, like the phone is magnetic to it so she can take it off when
she needs to. But, um, okay. Is that, that's, is that third, third out of three or how many
do you have? That's three. Okay. I just got one more. Okay. Okay. Are we, are we okay?
We doing all right? You still with me guys. You're a pastor here. Yeah.
Let's lock in.
Let's get out of here.
Okay.
So James for one has been, we talked to him the other day is that what causes fights and
quarrels among you, it's because your passions are at war within you.
I love this because I feel like my problems a lot of times feel like they're circumstantial,
but really it's just because like I'm not getting what I want.
It's just like helpful. It makes my problems feel a lot more simple where it's like, I think that I'm just, I'm not necessarily just upset because of this problem. I'm upset because
of how I'm responding to it and not what I want. So there you go. Say it one more time.
James four one. James four one. What is it? Say the verse one more time. James 4-1. James 4-1. Yeah. What is it?
Say the verse one more time.
Oh yeah.
What causes fights and quarrels among you?
It's because your passions are at war within you.
Yeah.
So good, dude.
Yeah.
So good.
Yeah.
Also Ghost Riders Getaway.
Truly a game changer because that's where we met.
So we'd be having this phone call for the Ghost Riders Getaway.
Wow.
That is true.
Yeah. And now we got June Golf Trip coming up, baby. Come on with the Ghost Riders getaway. Wow. That is true. Yeah. And now
we got June golf trip coming up, baby. Come on with it. It's gonna be so much fun. Yes.
Yeah. Jensen's got a sabbatical coming up that I'm yeah, doing a little pheasant hunt
adjacent kind of thing. But with golf, it's gonna be awesome. Yeah. So far. So, all right,
buddy. We love you. We'll talk to you later. Thanks for thanks for
sending us that wisdom. Hey, all day. All right. All right. See you guys. Bye.
Good times, man. Yeah. Phone wallet. I'm going to, he kind of sold me on that a little bit. Like I really, I don't know if I'd love the flappy thing, but I can see like he made me think about,
man, my wallet is kind of just like, like one or two cards
I use and a bunch of stuff I don't. And it's like, I could get behind that. Maybe I, I
definitely are you an Apple pay guy? No. Do you have a credit card? Yeah. I had like a
tattoo pay debit card. I didn't even have a credit card. Cause that's what, once, once
you get on the Apple pay train, like I'm, I'm keeping my wallet in the car a lot of times. If I know where I'm going and I know they have Apple pay,
I'm not even bringing the wallet with me, but I will say those, I, those flapper flapper
ones little, I don't know.
You know what? Like everyone that has them, I don't know. It's like one of those things
where it's kind of like androids where it's like, do you really like it? Or are you just
like, you know, committed to the of, no, it's better.
But everyone that has one is like, no,
I really like this a lot.
So anyway, all right.
I just texted that picture to you and Jake.
And Jake just responded, oh, good.
So I'll say something for the Chinese,
something for the Chinese to remember you by.
That's amazing.
What a picture.
All right, I think Jake's going to have quite a bit of an
interview as well.
So let's just sign off here.
We'll do reviews of the week and jingle and everything like
that next week.
Yeah, let's sign off.
Thanks for listening.
Thanks for working with us when we're doing kind of a
different kind of a week.
But it was fun doing a little game changer here.
Still with us?
Everyone still with us here a week, but it's fun doing a little game changer. So with us, everyone's still with us here.
No, but yeah, let's, let's take it away with, with Jake in his interview here from China
and Wednesday is going to be a banger of an episode.
Thanks for listening guys.
Oh yeah.
Wait, once again, still, still a spot left open for Ghostrunner.
So come to the Ghostrunners getaway, whatever.
This is not the end of the episode.
So don't leave yet, but just whatever.
Love you guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, we interrupt
whatever the heck friend time we're talking about.
Coming to you live from Da Nang, Da Nang?
Da Nang.
Da Nang, Vietnam.
We've got a special guest today.
You've heard me talk about him for a year and a half now.
He hails from Boston, Massachusetts.
He started the entrepreneurial program at Yale.
And I always knew he was smart.
And yesterday I learned he has a perfect SAT score.
Matt, so now you-
I should have kept that to myself.
Yeah, just yesterday I learned Matt's SAT score.
It was like perfect basically.
And I was like, I'm shocked, but also not surprised.
That was a different era of my life.
I don't know if I can do that today.
I forgot when I said the moment I said, like white people don't score.
That is exactly what you said.
Very impressive.
But no, thanks for being on the podcast.
Because like I said, people heard about you forever and want them to get to know you a little bit.
And I also know you, you're pretty exclusive in your podcast.
You don't do podcasts with anyone.
No, no, I've only done two in my entire life.
And you did one in 2017.
One in 2017 that has, I think, four views.
Four views, where can they find it?
SoundCloud.
That's where all the best- Pro Influence is the name of the podcast.
All the best podcasts go. Exclusive advance.
Okay, so let's get into it.
First question, we always ask our guests this question.
Who is Scott Peck?
Wow.
Describe Scott.
Okay, okay.
So I've known Scott Peck for,
I guess almost two years now.
I would describe Scott in a number of different ways.
I'd say sometimes he can be like an 18 year old in a 33 year old's body.
And sometimes he can be like the most reliable consistent person I've ever worked with.
I don't know if everyone knows this, but Scott and his wife Sam run Friday's customer support.
And when I was working on my previous company, we were used to working with outsourced customer
service agents in the Philippines, and it would take months to train them.
And we'd have to do daily QA checks.
But I remember we started working with Scott and Sam back in November, the 2023, like three weeks in,
they were just like off to the races, able to do everything completely
autonomously.
And now I just like forget that customer service is even a thing at Friday
because Scott and Sam do such a great job. So they are awesome.
But also Scott is just hilarious. Like always the guy in the group chat,
he's just saying things that are like borderline questionable, but he toes the line very, very well. And I respect him for that.
That's such a good description of Scott. Because yes, we have. So what's funny about this is we've
been working together for a year and a half, but this is probably, is this the fourth time I've
ever seen you in person, maybe? I think that's right like we're building this company together largely over
The phone we've done like two retreats right like we had
Arizona we went to Texas you came to New York for like three hours and played baseball there
And then this has been yeah like a full week together
And yeah, I think what I'd say is like you and Isaac are just like some of the easiest people I've ever traveled with.
Oh, well good.
It has been so smooth and relaxed and chill.
Uh, so it's been solid.
It has been.
I'm excited.
I think I'll share a lot of Asia stories next week when I'm with Brad.
Yeah, you're going to have a lot.
Have you been like keeping track of them or is, are they just all up in the dome?
There are some days where I do a good job like writing out like something, oh good podcast
stories, but the other days where I'm like, oh my gosh, I've got three days, never written
anything down.
Yeah.
But we've taken so many pictures that I think I'll just scroll through my photos and instead
of like jocks and memories.
Yeah, pictures and Ray-Ban meta classes, videos on roller coasters in the mountains.
I just put that on my surf story like last night and I woke up to so many DMs.
I thought this was gonna be so full of, wow, what a cool POV, my view.
And everyone's just like, I kinda got sick watching this.
Yeah.
I'm like, it was my first time ever recording it.
I was going down a mountain.
Yeah.
I think you need to just like have your head like straight, like the whole time, like can't
turn.
Yeah. Now I've learned, but yeah,
people will give no grace for me
recording up like my head down a mountain.
Anyway, okay, so yeah, you said your first company,
referring to Verb, Energy Bars,
was that actually your first company?
Did you have any kind of entrepreneurial ventures
as a kid or high school or anything?
I was thinking about this the other day,
and for a while I was like, oh yeah,
Verb was like the beginning
of my entrepreneurial journey,
but it turns out that it wasn't.
And yeah, when I was about like 14 years old,
my dad and I got into saltwater fishing,
and I was like really big into mon-life fishing forums
in like 2009, so if you go back to this fishing forum
called The Hole Truth, like a boat hole, I had a
username which was Tuna1001.
And my dad and I got into tuna fishing and when I was like 14 years old, I started building
fishing lures in my parents' basement and selling them on thewholtruth.com.
And I was looking at like old photos on my phone the other day and I found like my post from 2009
Where I had like built this fishing lure and like sold it for $90
I think I only did it with like two of them because it took like 20 hours to build once
but that was kind of like
the beginning and then when I was a
freshman in college
My brother who was like 15 at the time
tore both labrums in his shoulder.
So he had like-
From fishing?
No, from doing pull-ups, I think.
And so he had like a cast like here and then a cast here.
So we couldn't move his arms.
He was really bored.
And he went to my parents one day and he was like, I want to buy a drone.
This is like early days of drones. And my parents were like, we'll front the money,
but you need to pay us back.
And so he came to me, he's like,
how can we like make money with a drone?
And we came up with this idea to put the drone up in the sky
and make videos for like real estate agents
to show like the homes that were on the market.
So we did that.
My brother actually did that throughout high school,
the first half of college.
But I'd say that's where the roots were planted.
The seeds were planted, yeah.
That's cool.
Because I had a feeling,
even though I didn't know the answers to those questions,
I was like, I know there's no way
where it was the first thing you started.
Yeah, it was the first real thing.
Because I remember learning when we were at Austin, I mean, yeah, you're not that old you were in college
And then eight years ago or something like there was no entrepreneurial program again before you guys. Yeah
Yeah, I mean so there was like a very like light touch entrepreneurial program
but no way for undergrads to like learn about like the fundamentals of starting a business. And I had a roommate and like my freshman
and sophomore years who was very entrepreneurial as well.
And one day he came to me and he was like,
what if we just started the club on campus?
And the goal of which was to create businesses
as undergrads.
And so that's where like, that's where it started.
It's just so crazy.
Cause I think so many, I mean, especially just like me,
Midwestern-er, I think so many, especially me, midwesterner,
I just think like, oh, Harvard, Yale.
Oh, I mean, the whole thing's entrepreneurship.
Yeah, some colleges are very good at it,
but I think Yale was amazing for many other reasons.
This was maybe one area where it was lacking a little bit.
The guy you started with, your freshman year roommate,
what's he doing now?
So he actually started a backyard ice hockey ranking, ice hockey rank company in college.
And they would build like traditionally building a backyard hockey rank would take like multiple
days, you'd have to like, you know, put a bunch of wood together and then like fill
it and take a long time.
And their concept was we can build a backyard hockey rank in under an hour and like ship
it to your door
And they were a birthday party or like just like for people living in cold climates
So like have an ice hockey rink in the winter
And yeah, they were like very successful and he I think did that for like five or six years
After college as well, I don't know if he's still doing it still
But I think like we started the club and we
created successful businesses but I don't know how many have like followed if that makes sense.
I did. I do know that it still exists. So good for him. Yeah. All right, Tyman. I have a problem.
What's your problem? Is it your fault again? Could be. I ran out of beans today. Oh wow. I ran out of, I ran out of, I don't, we don't have Pinto.
We don't have black. We don't have Lima. We don't have green and we don't have coffee.
Oh man. Coffee beans. That was the one that I was really worried about. Yeah. I ever garbanzo.
I could take your leave, but really want those coffee beans. Yeah. Yeah, man. Honestly, like
kind of snuck up on me. I had
not ordered more Main Street Roasters. The nitro taps out. It's just a sad day. So I
think Catherine had to, she went and got some from the store. Said it's not as good. Said
we need some more Main Street Roasters. So I'm going to go to mainstream roasters.com
today to order my single origin coffees. I'm a big Colombian. Uh, you know, I, I, I support
their coffee, not their cartels. I've always said that. Great. And Shakira and Shakira
and Sophia Vergara. Yeah. I love modern family. So, um, yes, they have single origins. They
have, they, they make all their coffee in small batch. Basically what I'm trying to
say is that the coffee is good. I can tell you all the technical details, but just know it's good. It's affordable and you're supporting.
Oh, did you just drink some right there? Yeah. It's affordable. And you're supporting a small,
wonderful family owned business in Indiana, Northeast Indiana, Nappany, Indiana. So Mainstreetroasters.com
use our promo code GRKC and get 10% off today.
Another wonderful way to support, appreciate, show love for your mother. So go to MainStreetRoasters.com
today, use our promo code GRKC, get 10% off. You're not going to regret it. So go today.
Don't be sad in the morning, be happy in the morning, right. That's what we all want. So, right?
masonroster.com, Jr Casey. All right. I just checked the camera is still recording. We're good.
Nice. Okay. So then you start verb, I guess. What makes you start verb? Yeah. So it's sophomore
fall and my friend and I have started this entrepreneurial club
and we had decided that at the end of the semester we were going to have a
pitch day and like everyone in the club had the pitch a business idea and we
were like two weeks out from the pitch day and I had absolutely nothing and I
was like oh my gosh I am the guy who started this club and I have nothing
and I'm like studying for exams and one night,
it's like 9 p.m. and I decide to walk to a local coffee shop
and grab a coffee and a granola bar.
And I had always been health conscious.
Like I was drinking soy milk when I was 15
and my parents really didn't like that
because I would smell up the whole house.
But I walked to this coffee shop,
grabbed a coffee in a granola bar
and looked at my receipt and it cost like $7.
And I basically thought to myself in that moment,
like what if you could kind of fuse the two
and create a caffeinated energy bar
that you could deliver for under $2
to be able to get an energy fix conveniently
and easily at an affordable
price.
So that was like where the idea originated and then I pitched it to the club like two
weeks later.
And then I was extremely lucky because we basically divided the club in half.
There were like two winners.
Half the club worked on one idea, half the club worked on the other idea.
And in that group of like six or seven seven The two people who ended up like sticking with me and becoming first co-founders and like my best friends
Yeah came out of it. That is so it goes like the inception at the beginning
You were the head chef you were like creating natural caffeine. Like how did you learn? Oh, yeah
I mean, honestly, it wasn't like super scientific at first. Like we went on the internet and we looked up like
energy bar recipes.
And we just like started tinkering with stuff
in like local bakeries,
but eventually got like a little bit more scientific
about it.
And then got to a point where we were like working
almost every night in a local bakery.
We'd go in there at like 8 p.m.
make like 200 energy bars.
We have to like put them in the freezer
because they had like chocolate chips.
And then take them out of the freezer,
put them in like bags, heat seal them
before the chocolate chips melted.
And then we deliver them to people on campus the next day
and be like, you have to put these in your refrigerator
and eat them within two minutes
of taking them out of the refrigerator
or they will melt everywhere.
But it worked and like momentum kind of
built pretty quickly on campus and eventually we were like working every night in this bakery and
our friends were like what on earth are you doing? You can't hang out anymore because you got to go
put your apron on. Yeah seriously. What's going on in there? Yeah I think there's some shenanigans
happening in this bakery. Totally. So you have some proof of concept okay we're getting rid of
these things pretty easily around campus
Yeah, and then you're like, let's learn how to do e-commerce
Yeah, so we
Basically were like at this point in time. We can't keep up with demand, right? And so
We started researching
manufacturers and it turned out that like if you want to make energy bars at scale the minimum amount that you can make is like
$10,000 or 10,000 bars, excuse minimum amount that you can make is like $10,000, or 10,000 bars, excuse me,
which would have cost approximately like $10,000.
And we're, you know, sophomores in college,
juniors in college with no money in our bank accounts.
We're like, how are we going to get $10,000?
Start making the Pish and Lord.
Start making the Pish and Lord, baby.
And one day I went to a talk at Yale
that was given by the founder of Business Insider.
His name is Kevin Ryan. And he talks for like an hour and afterwards I'm like,
come on, like, summon energy to like go up to this guy and give him a bar and a business card.
Yeah.
So I give him a bar and a business card and don't hear anything for a couple weeks.
And then like two weeks later, I'm eating lunch and I get a call from a New York number and I pick it up and it's like, hey, this is Tevin Ryan.
I love the bar that you gave me.
Like what flavor was it?
It was like our original oats and cocoa formula, like the chocolate shift one.
And he was like, do you need any help?
And I said, oh, we're actually like looking to find a manufacturer for the first time.
And he wrote us like a $5,000 check after this like phone
call we had and that was like half of the funds that allowed us to do our first production run.
So from there we like found a manufacturer out in Washington state, spent like a bunch of months
figuring out like how to take what we had built in a bakery and like scale it to a production line.
And then we were able to produce
like our first run of 10,000 bars,
got it delivered to my fraternity house on campus.
And we basically stored like this palette of bars
in the frat house and every day we'd get orders in
from other students and just like deliver them
all over campus.
That's such a cool image of you guys doing that.
Yeah, it was really cool.
And we totally thought this was gonna be it.
And we got into this really cool summer program.
Because they were straight from the crunch to the 5K.
It was like an investment.
So he had got equity ownership from the company.
Yeah. But we got into the company yeah but we got
into the summer program and we basically spent the whole summer being like we're
going to take this formula that worked on our college campus to other college
campuses come back to the fall and we go to like five other college campuses for
a full day we're like giving out sample bars being like two or five bars and I think we
sold like five bars per day on average on every single campus that we went to.
So that clearly like wasn't working.
Andre and I both started looking at like other full-time opportunities because this way it
was our senior year.
And then we came up with an idea to basically make a smaller snack-sized bar that was only
90 calories as opposed to a heavy 250 calorie cliff bar with caffeine, more targeted towards
a female customer.
Cool.
Launched a website, and then that's where we started getting real orders coming in from
people who weren't college students, who were a little bit older, who had like actual disposable income.
And then I got this one of the luckiest things that's ever happened to me.
One of them is actually meeting you.
But one of the company products.
Yeah, that's one of them.
But one of the other most lucky things that the luckiest things ever happen to be is I got on a call with like an investor and I had pitched
like over a hundred investors during the summer and the fall and they don't raise
like a few hundred thousand dollars and that pretty much across the board had
gotten those like you guys are college students you haven't like validated the
concept sales are very low.
But I get on a call with this investor who works
for a firm called Global Factors Capital.
And he, you know, here's my pitch and he says,
Oliver's gonna be in New York tomorrow.
Do you wanna meet him?
And I'm like, who's Oliver?
And it turns out that Oliver is a German billionaire.
And I'm like, okay.
So I get on the train the next morning, like wearing my like suit, go down to New York City and pitch Oliver for seven minutes.
And like the side room in the Crosby Hotel, seven minutes in he interrupts me and he says,
You remind me of Mark Zuckerberg, would you like $250,000?
And I was like, Sprechen Sie Deutsch.
What? Like, are you kidding?
But he was dead serious. We shook on it. And then I just left after seven minutes
and like walked outside just in complete, like utter disbelief.
But a couple of weeks later, like they wired the money into our account.
And that was two weeks.
Was that like a nerve wracking two weeks or did you feel like they basically said,
like, you're good.
Like, this is a green light.
And I'm just like, this is so surreal.
And that was what allowed us to go full time after graduation.
So that was like November of 2017.
And then they graduated in May of 2018 and we're kind of like off the races.
So that money helps you purchase more bars, make more bars, you need to pay yourself a
little bit to justify.
Exactly.
Yeah.
So it's crazy, just like incredibly lucky.
Yeah, I don't know.
Yeah, if you're a business owner out there, find your Oliver.
Exactly.
Exactly.
I don't think there are many of them. But we got very lucky.
Okay, so I'm sure you could talk about VIRB for hours and hours and hours and it's really interesting.
But to kind of wrap it up, you've made your exit from VIRB.
Congratulations. Tell everyone how much money you got from the exit.
Zero dollars.
It's like, I've actually been scared to even ask how much you got screwed out of.
Yeah.
I assume.
I mean, I have an idea.
I mean, it is millions and millions and millions of dollars.
Then you get it was definitely unfortunate, but I'd say like on the whole amazing
journey, you learned some great lessons.
But yeah, it was like a wild, I guess, almost seven year ride or seven years post college and about like five and a half years in, one of
our investors unfortunately put us in a very, very sticky situation that we did not expect
at all.
He reminds me of Mark Zuckerberg.
Yeah, exactly.
I don't think we are going to have coffee or dinner at any point in the future.
When we finally sold the company after a very prolonged process, he was like, oh, let's
totally grab beers in New York. I don't know if this is the right path forward for us.
We learned great lessons, and I think I've already applied
a lot of those to Friday. Like when we were in the early days of Veriburg, our investors
were like, you should grow at all costs. Like it doesn't matter how much profit you're making,
like just grow your revenue. And you know, we were selling energy bars and had an 11
person customer service team and a 10 person engineering team. And it was it was really cool but I think like when we
went out to start Friday we were like let's do something very different. Let's
like bootstrap the business like no external capital because of the
situation that we've been through and let's just like take our time growing it
like the right way. I love your mindset, Arthur,
because it's just hard for me,
I think for anyone to wrap their head around,
like you started this business.
Yeah.
Am I correct to say you did over 100 million
just in online sales?
Pretty, pretty close to that, yeah.
So, I mean, I can't imagine what your stake
would have been worth, and you came out with zero,
and you're just like, it was a good experience though.
Yeah, I mean, I think like,
it's like you just went on a roller coaster ride.
People talk about the like stages of grief, right?
And like when this first started to go south,
I was like really in denial for a while.
And then there was certainly a fate,
like a prolonged phase where I was just like,
waking up every morning, like angry.
I can't believe that this external source
is trying to ruin my baby.
Because if you talk to my friends,
verb was such a core element of my personality.
And when it started to struggle,
it felt like my baby was having a rough time. But towards the end, I think I saw the writing on the wall and I was like,
this unfortunately is not going to work out and it makes a lot of sense to just like try to find
a more positive mindset and come out of here saying like, hey, it was a hell of a journey.
I found like, you know, my two best, two of my best friends in the whole world,
who also work on Friday
and you've gotten to meet.
Yeah.
And you know, it's just like onto the next chapter.
And you know, now we're in Vietnam,
like hosting a pickleball tournament in a city
that I didn't even know existed a couple of weeks ago.
And yeah, I just feel like very grateful and
Well, it's very impressive hats off to you
Um, all right, let's talk about Friday real quick and then we can go back to hanging out here being a sure. Sure
You name
You Audrey and Ben decide hey, let's work on a little something on the side. Yes, you throw out the names Friday
You like the name. Meanwhile,
I'm telling Issa, it's not, hey, I think I want to start this thing. I want to call it Friday.
How early into it did you find out, did you see that WeWork also existed? Yeah. So I guess we
started talking about building a pickleball company in like early 2023. And Audrey, Ben and I, those were the co-founders,
had for a long time talked about finding some way
to like spend our Fridays working on something
like different and fun.
And we were going to call it like Friday adventures.
So I had gotten really into pickleball in 2022,
realized that like there was not a like really high quality
accessible paddle brand on the market that was also like fun
and sort of inclusive.
And we started concepting that, yeah,
kind of beginning of that year and then decided on Friday
in, yeah, like I think it was February
and then immediately like applied for the trademark,
got our first inventory.
I don't think I saw you until like May,
like when did your first post go viral? I think I saw you until like May. Like when did your first post go viral?
I feel like it was probably like May of 23.
What I remember is I think probably around the time
you filed for a trademark,
I knew I was gonna call it Friday
and it looked and there was no active trademark.
Totally.
So thank goodness it didn't, you know,
the timeline was what it was because I was like,
all right, full steam ahead with name of Friday. I from every our first post was like June 23rd always in June
Okay, your first post was June 20th. It was something like that like right around the same time. We're like, yeah
Are you kidding me? Yeah, and we had started like sort of selling paddles in like May
So we had a license kind of smart. Oh, well, I don't know if I'm allowed to say this. Oh, okay. Well, you know
Well Matt did a smart thing. I did a smart thing I don't know to like prove that there was demand here sure and you knew it would sell. Yeah exactly
So yeah, you make a little post and Joe. Yeah, but then we started selling
So maybe you were you like kind of lightly paying attention to us. Totally
I was like, oh, this is like another Friday and I went to Andre and Ben. I was like, hey, this is like another Friday. And I went to Andre and Ben, I was like, hey, guys,
there's this other Friday on Instagram.
They're doing pickleball content.
Should we be worried?
And they were like, oh, it's just comedy.
Like, it's probably fine.
And we saw you guys were like, what is it?
They're going to be out of business in six months.
Totally.
And it was like we had a paddle that had like bananas on it.
You know, there's, you know, there were paddle brands
popping up like left and right at the time. Right.
And then so they all know the story, There were paddle brands popping up left and right at the time.
So they all know the story, but just to refresh for everyone, I'm about to go on stage.
Or no, to rewind just a little bit, I'm about to sign.
I've actually never said the numbers, but whatever.
I'll go for it.
We're about to sign a two-year $300,000 contract.
An insane amount of, like that doesn't happen in content.
That's not like a normal thing if you're like,
oh, Jake's been like rolling in it for a while now.
No, this is insane.
And we can't sign the contract fast enough,
but I'm like, I should do my due diligence.
I should have a lawyer look over it.
And this lawyer is the one like,
it's taking forever to get back to me. Self-, like we really had to sign it Friday. I'm telling them I'm gonna do diligence. I should have a lawyer look over it. And this lawyer is the one that, it's taking forever to get back to me.
Self-, it's like, we really need to sign it Friday.
I'm telling them, me too.
I would, you know, I'm trying.
They don't sign it.
Or my lawyer doesn't get back to me by 5 p.m.
I have a show that night in Las Vegas.
It's like 6.45.
I'm about to go on stage and Isaac says like,
hey, do you see this DM?
It's from the other Friday account.
They say that they have a trademark
on the word Friday. Yeah. They were like, oh my gosh, we were just about to sign this contract.
I guess we're going to have to like change our name or something. Like we have to. And credit to
you from the get-go, you were not like, there was no season to sys. There was no back-off. There was
like, hey, you guys are awesome but I just technically you had probably change your
name yeah yeah but let's hop on a phone call and then yeah we did hop on a phone
call and I remember on the call you were like and maybe we could like even you
know change your name we just work together yeah and I'm over thinking like
well you know the $300,000 deal on the table like the contract on the table we
tell you and you don't even bat an eye,
oh, we can figure something out.
Internally, I'm like freaking out.
I'm like, what?
What is this?
We can figure something out.
Matt did not end up giving us that much money.
I want you to know that.
We won't tell you that equity deal.
Wait, I have a question for you though.
Was it like a 51-49 where you were really, really torn
about which direction to head in?
Or when we started talking about building a brand together,
were you really inclined to sort of go down that path?
No, you made a really good pitch.
It was really hard.
I mean, it was like, wow.
Almost immediately, we got the call,
that sounds pretty fun.
If he's serious about actually matching your offer,
or maybe matching it with equity somehow,
I think immediately we were like, why join Goliath when we could join David?
It'd be so much fun to take down the big companies together to have a vested
interest in it and your track record.
I think also did a lot for us.
Like you've gone over a hundred million and DSE already.
And like, this is your like fun company on the side.
And it was like, I think we're going to be good hands.
Yeah.
And now it's my maid.
And so let me ask you, why did you sign us?
What did you, did you do your research on me?
So I definitely did my research on you,
but I think when we decided to build Friday,
we were like, we want to build a brand that's fun
and very different from the super performance focused
YOLAs of the world. And I also at the same
time realized that like this was becoming an extremely competitive market and was thinking
to myself like how can we find an edge right? And like we had decided to go to the market
with a like value oriented product. But that can only take you so far. And I thought, okay, what if we actually had like,
these three guys and their comedy like as the face of the brand. And in that way, you'd be able to
generate, you know, hundreds of 1000s, millions of impressions for free organically, like every
single month. Yeah. And that was kind of like where I clued into, okay, maybe this
could be like a really good solution to. Yeah, I mean, it's just a testament to
like you just a lot of the stuff is coming to an end. Because I think at the
time, it was like so shopping that you guys wanted to give us ownership in the
business. Yeah, but I think it makes much sense because I work so hard now
because I'm so well motivated.
Totally.
To do it.
No, it's been like so awesome.
Like I tell people this all the time,
I'm like Jake, Scott and Isaac are like,
three of the best people I've ever worked with.
I feel like I've been gassing you up a lot on this trip.
Well, yeah, it's good to go.
I mean, the podcast listeners know,
I'm like, you guys gotta meet Matt,
he's the smartest guy,
and the actual really wants to meet you.
So it's just a good, just good center for you.
Yeah.
I got to come out to Kansas city.
You know, I know my mom grew up there.
I haven't been back in a really long time.
So it is.
Yeah.
We've been choking.
So we got to Southeast Asia.
They're just the cost of living.
It's just like crazy low here and an effort to get Matt to move to Kansas city.
I just gonna keep acting like the prices here are very normal for Kansas City compared to New York.
Like it's like kind of a big sample. It's like a one dollar cocktail. Yeah like oh man that's kind of
expensive for Kansas City. Yeah I'll do it though. It's uh we're trying to get this. Yeah I mean it's
been a fairly convincing pitch. Like I actually thought about it last night in the elevator. I was
like wait what if I did think about it?
You would be the king in the city, dude.
You and the whole would be the same neighbor.
Oh, that's certainly not.
Certainly not.
All right, let me ask you just a couple more questions.
You are extremely humble for all that you have accomplished
and everything, but I want to give you an opportunity
to not necessarily brag in yourself,
but when it comes to your skillset
in entrepreneurship, building a business,
what is it specifically that you think like,
you're the best at or like,
what comes the most natural to you?
Interesting.
I think like having now started like a couple of companies
and like, Verve really saw that like,
through the growth stage, right?
Where like, at one point in time we had,
as I mentioned, over 30 employees.
I think I've realized that that stage of it
is much harder for me.
The management and layers of decision making.
And I think what I've learned is my favorite part
of the process, and I think where I excel
is in the zero to one phase
where the business doesn't exist
and you have just a rough idea in your head
of like, okay, here's what could be created.
Throw out your stuff at the wall.
Throw out your stuff at the wall
and then actually building a plan to create that thing
and then get it to sort of lift off
or escape velocity or
whatever you want to call it. I think like that's where I can shine. So we're so we had
a good run but we are screwed. We grow any bigger than we are. No, no, no. It's like
we are so small and scrappy right now. We are very much in that sort of steeper part of the growth curve.
And I think I'm just someone who gets bored fairly easily. And Friday has just been such an exciting
journey so far where it feels like each and every day there's a new challenge or problem solved.
Yeah, parents.
Exactly. That's a fun one.
Mow some other things.
Mow some other things. Um, some other things.
I, uh, I've kept the big thing out.
Like, I should probably, I'm very public, I'm pretty transparent about everything, but
I'm like, I even know better than to say the big thing going on.
Hopefully in like, a year we can talk.
Yeah, yeah.
And we'll come out of the other side doing just fine.
Exactly.
Okay, so, uh, last thing, I've had such a fun time
doing Friday alongside you and I've joked with you before,
I'm like, I wonder, you know,
can we see what our next business is?
Can we see what's coming this Friday?
I'd like to pitch you some businesses now.
Oh my god, okay, okay.
And you tell me what you think of them.
Maybe choose one that you'd like to run with alongside me.
Great.
The parking lot, the dogs only petting zoo.
You go to these petting zoos and it's like gross goats
and it smells bad.
Totally.
What if it was just golden retrievers,
as far as I can see.
The barking lot. Wow.
Two, a sock subscription service, the sock market.
Yes, yes.
I just, I like the S&P 500 maybe,
different ones you could do with feet, I think.
Wait, can you explain how that one would work?
It's just like socks all get like holes in them
after like three or six months,
and what if you could just have like fresh socks,
like once a quarter?
Yeah, or even, yeah, yeah, that's it.
I haven't thought about it any more
than thinking of the word soft market.
Okay.
So that's about as far as the business has gotten.
Cool, cool.
A type of coffee that helps improve your memory,
and we call it deja-vroo.
Okay, so it seems like you like puns.
Well, we'll move on from those.
Okay.
Silent Velcro.
All the benefits of Velcro teach way quieter.
Okay, how often do you use Velcro on a daily basis these days?
It's been a couple years.
Okay, okay cool.
We can find a market.
Yeah, I think so. Like shoes.
Maybe like Velcro shoes will be in vogue in like, you know, forty-five months.
In vogue? Okay, you frickel.
Gosh.
Um, okay, I wrote one-handed umbrella. I don't remember what that means.
Oh, it only takes one hand to open and close it.
Oh, cool.
It's cumbersome.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Something that just like, it's Spectre Gadget,
closes back.
Well, we're gonna be in Taipei tomorrow
and it's gonna be raining.
And I'll tell you, Taipei is really good at umbrellas.
Like when I was there, they had these like super,
cause it rains a ton, it's really hot all the time,
they had these like super lightweight,
like featherweight carbon fiber umbrellas.
So I think we could do some like market research
while we're there.
And then potentially just like bring their umbrella
to the US market.
Because like I have not seen a single umbrella in the US
that like is as light and easy to use
as the umbrellas in Taipei.
Taiwan is like leading the umbrella industry.
They are like-
I think so. Like semiconductors and umbrellas. Like that's what they specialize in.
They go hand in hand. I don't know. Planet of the Vapes.
I just, I'm shocked that no one has done it. Last two, True Crime is like in an all time high.
I think it went to take a band to this.
And also like what Liquid Death did was their marketing where it's like scary,
but it kinda works.
But Serial Killer is the name of it, but it's like a serial brand or something.
So cool. I actually have a friend who's working on a business.
I don't know if I can say it. I'm just gonna say it.
It's called Death Prep, and it's like liquid death,
but for like breath mints and like toothpaste and stuff,
so it like eliminates bad breath,
but I think that that's actually a really good idea.
You like the cereal.
It's quite healthy.
I do, I really like it.
Sweet.
Last one.
Invite only Starbucks.
Extremely exclusive.
Or anything. Invite only Costco.
And then it's just you get the whole...
We only left 20 people at once.
What's different about the liked experience?
Invite only.
I already said...
They still have frappuccinos.
Yeah, it's in the name
Nothing else changes. Okay. What if they had salted coffee? That's something we discovered in Vietnam. That's we had that very very good Yeah, yeah, I know it's like electrolyte and use it dude. It's hard to know
Is the food and coffee really good here or did we just come from Campanies?
It's really hard to tell. I think we came from eating pigeon
You know, I feel we have to talk about that. I don't want to eating pigeon. You know?
You'll get to talk about that.
I don't want to spoil it.
We'll get to talk about that.
When I looked at that bird on the plane,
I said, what is that?
I think at one point we had like three or four bird heads
going around the table and they were all different birds.
Yes.
And not even like good parts of the bird.
Yeah.
Anyway.
All right.
I think stock market.
That's your, oh yeah, I forgot.
You got some of your favorite.
If you have some of your favorite.
Wait, you said S and feet by Puncher?
I just came up with that on the fly.
I don't know.
Okay, okay.
So I know of a business called Bombus.
You might actually know it.
This great e-commerce stock brand then they've done very well
But their socks get holes in them fairly easily
They technically have like a happiness guarantee where you can like mail them back a holy sock
And then they like inspect it and send you new ones
But I think that like I would subscribe to a sock
Really? Yeah, I would yeah, it's probably I don't know. I think we should do it or not, you know, all right
Sorry about that one. Yes. Here it goes. That also run or umbrellas. Honestly the umbrellas bite by actually
Pretty fired up about the umbrellas right now. All right, thanks for running the podcast
I know you were a little apprehensive to do this. Yeah. No, it's been a while
this is a lot of fun, but go show some love to Matt and
You live in New York and want a husband feel free to really show some love to Matt. Yes, please
Yeah, thanks for trying dude. Yeah. Thanks for having me go have lunch. All right. All right
All right. Yeah, once again
Thanks. Thanks to Jake for coming on. What a great interview. That was amazing interview. We've listened to it for sure already
It's not like he hasn't recorded it and we're just saying that
Yeah, timing
What are you gonna do the rest of the week now that Jake's not here and you don't have to record pickleball?
I got a lot of pickleball editing with the no cattle releasing like yeah, honestly my work is like increased. Okay, it's great
Yeah, and it's fun cuz it's nice because like he's the exact opposite time zone.
So we can't communicate.
It works well.
So he never has figured it out.
Like, yeah, we're both up like late enough in our own.
Yeah.
It works out.
What time is it over?
Like, what's, what is the difference?
I think in China it was like when it was, so it's 10 30 now, I think it would've
been 11 30 PM PM in China.
Yeah.
Cause Jake just responded to us.
I think in Vietnam, it's like the exact same,
just a 12 hour difference.
Okay.
I'm pretty sure it's yeah, 10, 30 PM there.
That's so wild, man.
Yeah.
It's just, it's so weird.
It's like someone I know, like, yeah,
it's a strange, strange thing.
Find my friends the other day.
I was like, that's crazy.
It says Jake's in China.
And so I zoomed out the globe, you know?
Yeah. And literally he
couldn't even fit in the same screen as the rest of the people. Like it was like, what in the world?
Like he's just so around the earth. Yes. You had to like go. Yeah. It was either you had to see Jake
and Isaac, or you had to see the rest of my friends. So, um, just incredible wild Jake's got,
and Isaac has just, yeah, they're what a blessed opportunity to be over there and I hope yeah, everything's going great
but yeah, we'll be back on Wednesday with another episode a
