We're doing a little bit of girl code. Unpacking some intriguing gossip that's been hitting Instagram and TikTok and discussing how it might feel to be on the other end as a young woman living a real life of disturbing social commentary enjoy i actually hate to say it but i am excited for this i really am i'm going in completely blind for this all i know is wing said we're going to discuss some gossip. I don't know what it is yet. Right, so basically, this is almost going to be a bit of an Easter egg.

If you listen to a few podcasts, this will probably have come up. And I don't know quite how we're framing it, but I just almost wanted to fill you in. into it so i'm not coming in fully um acquainted with what the fuck is going on but just hear me out so this uh story happened to initially take place believe it or not on the girls bathroom podcast famously okay sofia and chintzia as we all know and i hate to say i'm lifting their content directly and placing it onto ours but so the setup is kind of they're getting dilemmas from people people are sending in their dilemmas right and they're being like look this is my advice this is what you should tell your friend this is what you should do blah blah blah yeah so setting the scene so this kind of uh this gossip this hot gossip fresh off the press crash off the bathroom floor it stirred me it kind of stirred me up a little it kind of riled me up i might even say yeah so basically they get this dilemma right and they're reading it out yeah and the dilemma the gist of it is basically hey i'm a friend

in a trio yeah one of my friends went off and she's essentially started having an affair with a man. No. Who she met on his stag do. Yes. Wait. I'm already confused. She had an affair with a man that she met on whose stag do? On his stag do.

On his own stag do. He's engaged to be wed. Wait, are these three men? I've already fucked up. It's three girls, I'm assuming. If they're writing men i've already it's three girls i'm assuming if they're right yes yes yeah three girls but the one girl was writing in saying hey i need some help because my friend is having an affair with a man that she met on her husband's or fiance's stag do no oh what who the fuck stag do was immediately not listenable who's stag do is this it's the guy is the affair man stag do he's having an affair now with the mate should i start from the beginning

yeah i'm really sorry who's having the affair the mate is having the affair i'll tell you i'll tell you i'll tell you go from the beginning right well they do a thing they call the man brian a girl right say it's me yeah okay and i'm writing into the girl's bathroom yeah yeah let's say i hate to say it you're the one who's having an affair okay i've only done this to myself through my confusion yeah i'm so sorry right so they're reading out they're saying oh we've got this girl wing here she's saying she has a friend called seffy yeah and seffy went away she went on a trip to australia and on her trip she met a man who was engaged to be wed to another woman yeah and he was out for his stag do when she met him

and they got talking yes yes good it's now it's landing good that making sense now we're all understanding we're all on the same page not good not good you're on your stag right it's deeply fucked up they get talking you know hijinks ensues and one thing leads to another they initiate a full-blown affair and this girl is saying i'm in love with him we need to have a life together he's the one and you know that's what sephie's saying running oh god this idiot she's so dumb i know i know we're real people by the way so there's just a caveat there real people yeah wing is writing into the guy's bathroom saying help my friend sephie is delusional can we take us helping now i understand because it's helping it's keeping it clear he's keeping it clear she's saying seffy is delusional she's having an affair with a married

man with a man who's you know engaged an engaged man i don't know the sound of her but yeah go i don't know the sound of him mostly seffy is convinced that this man who's engaged to somebody else is gonna leave his fiancee you know they're meant to be together they're gonna live together because they're moving across australia and whatever blah blah blah he has many successful businesses some of which he runs with his fiancee oh this is a disaster the fiancee in question has a million followers on instagram shut up i swear to god who to god who well so that's where we leave it okay the episode and i believe so for your insurance you say you know this is crazy this is not good whatever you know hope everyone's okay sends well wishes cut to episode

ends you know crickets whatever life is unfolding cut to people have gone around looking thinking who could it be who could it be who is the fiance in question she's been revealed and she's posted a statement on her instagram how fucked is this this is terrible anyway as a little old seffy we it got me kind of cut up thinking about all these things of like you can be responding to a um listener dilemma from poor old wing talking about her poor old friend seffy and it's just all innocent and you announce it on your podcast and it's you know it's you're making money off the podcast it's entertaining and it's also like real people and then the person whose story has now been put everywhere is like it just i felt bad for everyone involved

apart from the guy obviously yeah of course i felt bad even for sofia and chintzy having to read and it's like now i just god if we saw someone put an instagram story up being like yeah it was discussed on the girl's bathroom blah blah blah you know we're not together anymore blah blah it's just an interesting social media has allowed for so many different um arenas and like almost like the ways that we can choreograph betrayal now it's not just simple as like it's not just you know center stage one spotlight one woman show it's like full length feature film it's spanning it's podcast it's major and it just tripped me out a little bit and i don't know what my thoughts are but i just wanted to first of all present to you the hot goss off the press second we'll send our well wishes to everyone involved yeah i really do jesus and just kind of let that in let that hang for a sec of a nice

reminder of like oh god we're all on this earth together sharing the same earth and you might think you're getting away with something god i don't think you're going to get away with it much longer it does show the connectedness doesn't it like if those things are happening essentially in kind of different countries or whatever it's like no no no it's one earth we're all connected it's crazy and this guy they'll find each other on the internet through the same podcast totally that's mad totally what the hell i don't know what my thoughts are on that it's alarming it's alarming very alarming so alarming i think let's talk about the man because i feel comfortable talking about him on the gossip front yes my opinion is

that the whole thing has done girl b who i don't know who that is the girl that was in the fiance no no it's done the fiance a favor massively yeah like i do think it's like jesus it's better like it's so much better to find out when the fucking stag do did you find out then but hopefully you found out before you signed anything but jesus christ they've been together months they share businesses they share business like their lives are wrapped up in one another but all i can say is it's just like before yeah i don't know if they have kids or anything but that's the thing that's like if you've got kids involved here that's the real fucker oh god yeah i hate the man is that yeah yeah i have an absolute distaste for him already is that a

fucked up thing to say i said send him to the stocks is that too much no the stocks is fine stocks you don't die in the stocks you just get like oh yeah humiliated yeah fair enough you're thinking of like the guillotine yeah i'm thinking i'm thinking the hanging tree the hanging tree yeah you are but no the the fucking stocks that's just public shame go on you can handle the stocks you can handle the stock jesus you deserve the stock bring the stock men love stocks if anything all i hear about is stocks stocks and shares jesus christ exactly um it just put the fear of god in me a little bit something i also think that is scaring you you're putting yourself in sphere and chintzy's shoes i did yeah humor me for a moment i imagined we were in a glossy

imagine we're not in our own home imagine we're not um kind of poorer uglier less successful just imagine just humor me for a second that with these amazing young girls mega star podcasters yeah yeah just imagine i know it's silly guys it's hard to get there but just try just try and imagine for a sec i think the because i've seen some comments of people being like oh no i don't want to say that i just i think it's a difficult one to know what the well just the idea of like you know the public then took it upon themselves the girls and it kind of speaks to quote-unquote girl code which we could get into but it's like this listenership of millions of women have then taken it upon themselves these kind of civil detectives have taken it on themselves to seek out this guy and seffy and you know whatever's maybe not seffy but they've they've sought out

the fiancee the girl with the seffy jesus christ but it was effective it worked it worked but i don't let's not continue it we all know who they are now okay i didn't do this i'm not involved in this you didn't you didn't but it makes me wonder because a good element of the dilemma that the girl had brought in is like i'm gonna say it one more time she was like sephie's not listening to us oh god and they said and they said that in this trio of friends they both said to sephie do you not feel bad for the fiance and sephie says no i don't feel bad because she's keeping me i'm gonna have to put a statement out i do i never did this this is not me i've never met these people i've only heard of this five minutes ago same time as you listening right it's not me but there were some comments that

like the girl sent photos of like oh yeah you know i don't know i don't know but then it's also like you know this man cheats on his fiance and now poor old sphere and chintzy are in their gorgeous studio are having to like be wedding crashers do you know what i mean yeah yeah it is tricky but then it's and it's just it's it's so if anyone's in the stocks it's the fucking fiance who's had so many people come to her and be like look i found out through this podcast episode where somebody's and is that how the woman found out yeah it's horrific yeah podcast hey who'd have them oh god what are we doing shut it down oh god that's horrific it is i do think there's a kind of responsibility in certain ways to like if you are sharing really personal information that you can that the public can trace back to individuals

there's definitely such a thing and there's definitely a need for it i just don't necessarily love the label of it isn't it such a sad state of affairs when it's like oh it's the it's times are so dire and desperado that these girls have to come together to have each other's backs and be like if you get publicly humiliated defiled and defamed i will try my best to get it back to you i'll try my best to let you know so embarrassing it's like god that's how bad things are that it's like wouldn't it be nice if we could just be like, hey, guys, when you propose to us, don't cheat on us on your stag day. That would be nice. It should go without saying. It should go without saying.

of like a guy cheats on someone there are whispers of it like in season three for example it gets crushed they promise that nothing happened then season five the guilt eats them alive and they end up telling them oh actually i did cheat on someone and actually because of the shame of that i then cheated on you 10 more times and i just shoved it all down and oh every who knew oh yeah all your best friends knew by the way it's like there are so many cases like they're probably 25 i don't know cases throughout the whole season the whole thing of main chelsea was like were people trying and trying and trying to bury things and of course it comes out the added fuck layer of that as well is season three everyone starts

hearing the whispers of you know maybe someone's had an affair here maybe someone's cheated here and 100 behind the scenes and behind the camera the producers are going fingers crossed i fucking hope he did yeah and they're fucking definitely they're um they're counting their cash when when it comes out in season five they're buzzing and they're having a big party this is just a maiden chelsea thing but often other members and it probably happens in all fucking reality shows but other members of the cast probably happens in actual reality other members of the cast come forward to the producers and say i know what happened because

was talking in this clip i think for vanity fair someone i just saw a clip of it on tiktok she was speaking obviously super eloquently as she would of course about her characters and the film salt burn and just you know the writing of it and the making of it etc etc and she was talking about um some of the different characters in the film and she was saying um now i'll be interested to hear your thoughts on this so you're gonna have to hear me out and then yeah you know so she said something along the lines of he's not a nice character but i am not nice and i don't know anyone i don't know any characters that are nice and i don't know anyone in my real life who's nice

because i just don't think that's a thing and I think when more people are honest with themselves they can see that they're not actually nice and I was kind of like okay that's that's you know it's a statement yeah yeah it's a point I get it I mean I have a podcast we say things I see how it you know it could be said I get it and it was kind of troubling me because I'm like you're trying to say i'm not nice but then i was like well i think i've met nice people and then i was like oh but i like you know i like it and i you know it depends what you mean is not like nice doesn't mean perfect goes without saying well it's almost like everyone can be nice but they also have loads of potential in them to be bad did she say nice or did she say good i think she said nice honestly but anyway yeah that was

her point so i was kind of i'm not i was feeling a little bit troubled i find a little bit of cynicism i think that's what unsettles me about the statement of like i'm not nice no one i know is nice no one is really nice nice is a funny one to use nice nice nobody's nice oh is she really posh she is to me but is she yeah but then someone commented saying it's a of course she thinks that coming from like an upper middle class southern life and i was in the stands going here here and i was ringing my bell send her to the stocks i was i was um there was something that was affirmed in me of like oh yeah no people in newcastle are fucking nice i know they are people who haven't lived your life are nice i've seen it and i do think it's if not um kind of wholly and comprehensively and absolutely and objectively true at all times it is an interesting

marker and an interesting nod to a certain group of society being raised differently ethically differently with you know yeah there's a completely different code of ethics like that you get raised in a way that's like your dad has been cheating on your mum throughout your whole life and you think he's the best man you've ever known yeah my dad is a good man yeah he's done a lot for this family yeah right and the whole concept of community means something completely different just because you don't need it in the same way totally totally so that's how i feel i'm not trying to i'm not saying i'm actually not saying rich people equals bad people because i'm not no right and i love taylor swift and i you know the more the merrier give her more pay her more even but i do think in the realms of the world that

we've created up until this point wealth breeds evil oh there's no denying come on let me get away with that guy but this is why i don't i'm not coming for you pay taylor swift more money like i do think being a billionaire is fucked i think it's absolutely immoral disgusting fucked thing to be oh great but i do agree that yeah just money like extreme basically hoarding wealth yes and there is something about that old money sort of um well me and my mom were talking about this recently because we have some friends that are quite old money and we were talking and but then like i have some people that i know that are quite like new money sort of vibe and we were talking about these two kind of examples because we'd seen them in quite like of vibe and we were talking about these two kind of examples because

we'd seen them in quite like close succession and we're talking about the old money people and we're talking about like how there is such a like a frugalness with money like it's really like not spendy it's really like the reason that they are rich now still when actually probably there hasn't been much like they haven't worked a job in 200 years there's been no work done it's all inheritance on inheritance on inheritance and like property on property and property because it's like moving that money keeping that level of wealth is like yeah but you because you've been eating just like potatoes and like you wear the same jumper that you've had for 40 years sort of vibe like there is a real like um inability to spend money and it's like that that gives me that like um

i was saying it reminds me of the lannisters of like um what it's all us against the world like it's all us like we need to keep this within the family it's all about the family and there is a and i completely agree with you that that the community thing then just goes because it's all about the family and there is a real and i completely agree with you that that the community thing then just goes because it's all about keeping the stuff within that family that's kind of my point i don't really know but yeah it's interesting hey niceness is an interesting thing to put into that i would love to know whether she said nice or good because nice i don't know i don't believe or good because...
