Cans on, cans off.
What's up, dude?
Keep them off.
Oh, this initial part for sure.
Yeah.
I like the vibe, dude.
This is the only other podcast that feels as chilled out as ours.
Oh, really?
Yeah. Oh, really? Yeah.
Oh, that's nice.
Yeah.
And I don't mean to compare.
I just mean that in a welcoming way.
Sure, sure.
Any other show I've done, it's not many, but it's just so produced.
There's at least four or five people there, and I'm like, oh, fuck.
It's funny time.
They're like, you're on.
Yeah.
We edit it, too, so there can be lulls and stuff for
sure we don't try to put too much pressure on ourselves yeah um it's the best way i still
already feel so much pressure it's like yeah if there was more going on it would kill me
should we just uh do no intro song yeah let's just get into it all right hell yeah
All right.
Hell yeah.
Whoa.
Hey.
Are we on?
Yeah.
We're on.
That's it.
Ooh.
In there.
We're, uh.
Way to do an abrupt takeoff.
Yeah.
But, uh, I'll fire it off.
It's like flying out of John Wayne.
Yeah.
Oh, dude, I have yet to do that.
Dude, it's intense.
Yeah. He goes straight up. I mean, I've never even noticed it, but that is, I learned about it a couple of years ago. It fires
me up. Cause the rich folks on the coast don't want to hear the planes overhead. Yeah. Wait,
what is this? At John Wayne, when the plane takes off, it has a steeper ascent because people who
live in like the neighboring communities, which I assume are pretty affluent, we're like, Hey,
we don't want to hear those planes over our heads. wow so it just goes up they just go straight up you better get
those poor people out of my sky that's what they said yeah they're like if it's a private jet it
can fly over yeah that's fine we'll wave to our friends yeah everybody else i always got bob hope
and john wayne mixed up because my my i was with my brother at Disneyland and I had a flight back to school and I'm like yeah I met uh I met John Wayne I drove to Burbank
nice fucking missed my flight I'm like I don't know there's like too many old celebrity names
I don't know yeah they're kind of synonymous with each other yeah not actually but I mean if you're
a kid and you don't know their work yeah I don't know the difference yeah I think John Wayne was a
western guy yeah right yeah with like a pound of beef in his stomach or something like that legend I don't know the difference. Yeah. I think John Wayne was a Western guy. Yeah. Right?
Yeah.
With like a pound of beef in his stomach or something like that.
And then I think Bob Hope was a TV host.
Okay.
Oh, that's right. Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm sounding real out of touch right now.
Aaron, can you speak to this?
Yeah.
Aaron will know.
Yeah.
Bob was a comedian and-
USO tours.
He was famous for that.
Yeah.
He was famous for USO tours and he was a movie star.
Thank you for your stars.
This is me just trying to do, trying to be a 20 year old that's my bit like just who's bob hope you know everything about bob hope but you're not saying yeah yeah yeah i have no idea who
you're talking to i don't know old people that's crazy um yeah i'll just do a quick intro yeah hit it yeah uh i just say like a little
phrase up at the top so sure oh shave my ankles and tell me it's the weekend uh what's up stokers
of stoke nation this is chad kroger coming in with the going deep with chad and jt podcast
guys before we begin i remind you once again that we are brought to you by manscape manscape thank
you so much for keeping our trims pubed for looking after our hogs for making sure that our dongs are looking fresh
and clean um and i'm here with my compadre jean thomas what up boom clap stokers and we're here
with our guest noelle miller welcome to the pod thank you fellas stoked to have you on likewise
man i'm i'm good this is i feel good i feel like i don't have to be on but i'm gonna be you know
what i mean like it's more of a choice yeah yeah you guys have a good vibe in here this is i feel good i feel like i don't have to be on but i'm gonna be you know what i mean
like it's more of a choice yeah yeah you guys have a good vibe in here this is good oh thank you man
appreciate it dude nice i preach yeah yeah um when i forgot who hit me up to do the show but like i
watched a ton of episodes because i thought i was gonna come in here and it was gonna be like
really i don't know why i thought you guys were going to have like an hour of material ready to just hit me with and i would have to be like super on point
and then i watched a few episodes and i the anxiety cleared i'm like okay yeah it's easy
are you suggesting that it's a lackadaisical kind of production here no i'm saying like you guys are
so good at what you do that like i didn't know i just don't know like i watch like your videos
and stuff and i'm like man is this all from the hip or like are they just like some meta geniuses and they
have like three hours of oh you can't come in this nice come on no i swear i swear man i swear
oh thanks man yeah well let the ball licking commence i'm all about your stuff
i'm not wearing pants for this
hey bro sorry i didn't mean to get my nose up your ass
no dude I really appreciate it
it means a lot
I feel like from the
outside perspective
it's kind of tough to understand
the world of it
at least we had a clip post on all things comedy
and half the people understood it
and half the people were like this is not this is not it but go fuck yourselves did you see that's a tough crowd
on there though they're very tough yeah they're they're bill burr fans yeah it's like a specific
yeah he's a genius he has a huge fan base but yeah he's tough i guess you gotta immerse yourself in
the world yeah maybe take a dip in the Pacific Ocean with us
and see if you can get on our wave
I can only
I can only imagine
if you pose some of those town hall meetings in front of them
like I think it would start to gel
where they go
oh
oh wow
like seven hours later they're like oh they're joking
fuck
oh I'm an idiot damn I can't tell sometimes Oh, wow. Wow. Like seven hours later, they're like, oh, they're joking. Fuck.
Oh, I'm an idiot.
Damn.
I can't tell sometimes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, dude, the town hall meetings used to kill me because that was just, that's my favorite thing when people bring comedy to real life like that.
Right.
And the commitment, because that's worse than an open mic in terms of vibe.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
You know what I mean?
And to like commit the way you guys do.
I'm like, oh, man.
Dude, I don't know.
I think open mics are worse.
You think?
If you're in an Eastside open mic with a bunch of smart hipsters who went to Oberlin College
and they all know 19 different intelligent ways to chop you up.
I don't know.
I would die a thousand deaths in there.
It was horrible.
It was good for me.
I think it made me tougher.
Yeah.
Because I was used to being afraid of people who could beat you up and now i was just afraid of people who like would argue with you
after the show yeah i just thought i was an idiot yeah yeah yeah yeah because i was like the smart
guy to the jocks and then i got to them and i was the jock to their smart guy and i was like i don't
even know how to make heads or tails of this yeah then you got off stage and they're like yeah that
joke you had halfway through let's unpack that and you're like well all right this guy's my
professor now yeah exactly yeah i would have liked it if they would have done that they were just like
later dude i was like are we doing anything dude i'm sorry i have to i've had this open mic story
that i feel like no one would ever relate to until right now so i have to share it i'll lay it down
um i don't know if this mic even had a name or anything like that. It was on the east side.
I'm trying to think of any comedians who might be there that you might know.
Nothing's coming to mind.
I go out there, and I lived an hour and a half from this mic,
and I drive out there.
There's like six people there.
You know how that goes.
You're like, what the fuck am I doing here?
I'm sitting there, and there's clearly a couple people that know each other and then a couple strangers and this dude gets on stage he's got really long hair he's got kind of a
vest on it's clearly like an outfit and he's doing some crazy bit and the rant is really
edgy that's all i remember is that the dialogue was super it was a lot mm-hmm and some people are laughing and
We're kind of waiting and I'm thinking there's gonna be this big moment where he like turns around he goes, uh
Psych, you know, this is me and then like he gets into the bit that never happens and instead
Someone shows up and arrests him and they're fully in like cop like uniform
up and arrests him and they're fully in like cop like uniform yeah and i'm believing this for a good few minutes and then i look back and there's like a dude with a gopro and i'm like oh man yeah
and he like he like pimped us all out for like a youtube video wow and then the mic ended
yeah really he didn't even run the rest of it did Did he get to go up? No. That's the worst part of that story.
He didn't finish that.
He didn't get everybody else up.
He set it up?
I have no clue.
He set the mic up, too?
I left that night thinking, like, I wanted to, I think I got it off of, like, open mic
maps or something like that.
Yeah.
You know?
Comedy Bureau?
Comedy Bureau, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Big shout out to Jay Kroger.
Yeah.
And I remember wanting to just find out who find out if there was an email or something.
That was like my Karen moment.
Yeah, of course.
In my life.
I'm like, this is the first time I want to send a strongly worded email.
Like, hey, you bitch, you put this mic up.
It's not real.
I'm in a YouTube video somewhere, and I didn't agree to it.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, that's terribly fucked up.
I'm sorry.
No, it's all good.
It happened. It's just so strange that that world is uh for some reason especially like early on i would just submit myself to it seemed like just so much abuse yeah you know it's like you
go to like you know you go to a mic where they pick your name out of a hat but they have limited
spots you know so you're there till two in the morning and you're just like waiting for them to
pick your name and they don't and you're like all right i
guess i just wasted four hours sitting here yeah on the top of like a chinese restaurant yeah and
then and then the other ones i'd go like the comedy store when i was first starting out and like
they'd be like we have uh we have lucas here he's gonna judge you guys he's a he's a road comic he's
a veteran you'd like judge everyone's yeah you know and he'd just tell you you were a piece of shit yeah you're just like you're like yeah this is
the process i guess yeah you're like well all right i mean i say you have to want to kill
yourself to be a comedian so yeah i'm getting there make you get there yeah yeah yeah and so
like i don't get it why does it have to be that way i don't know do you think it's like an
attrition thing like where because you know everyone else has been worn out it's just that weird fraternity
type stuff where it's like i went through it you're going through it i do think that's it yeah
and i think sometimes like when i when i first got to open mics i would i would fake laugh
at people i'd be like just to help the vibe in the room totally you know what i mean and then
i got to a point where i was like, I think I'm actually helping this person more
if I just stone face them, if it's not funny, because then they'll get to the next evolution
of this joke or their persona quicker.
So I was like, I just kind of got to be an, I think at first it really bothered me what
an asshole everyone was.
But then after a couple of years, maybe it was Stockholm syndrome.
I was like, now this makes sense.
Yeah.
We have to do people.
I mean, I feel you sit in
enough mics and you see enough new people come through and you're like oh yeah this premise
right yeah you hear it all yeah here you go i remember january uh january was always brutal
because you'd see this flock of new people come into the comedy store and uh to sign up for the
monday night mic and you're like
i think that's what it is it's just there's so many years and you're just like all these people
are taking up space now they're taking up you know yeah and it's uh you just get sort of
possessive i guess yeah a little bit and competitive you're just like get the fuck out
heather heather heather maruli she got mad at me she's like you're a casual comic you're not dedicated to it and you're stealing time from more dedicated comics right yeah i didn't that's
that's so funny calling someone a casual within like comedy damn that's i don't know why that
makes me laugh you're a big mma fan right i am yeah that's a that's a common kind of
takedown of yeah he's a casual yeah you fucking casual yeah yeah I mean dude I don't think
you know what's crazy
about MMA fans
is
or
I don't want to call
MMA a niche sport
but in ways
it feels that way
it is for sure
you know like
you have to
really like it
if you show it
to your friends
sometimes
they can just
see the boredom
yeah
come across their
face so fast
yeah
it's totally just
it just looks like
dudes rubbing up
on each other
yeah that always
happens dude this is kind of gay yeah you're like no it's totally just, it just looks like dudes rubbing up on each other. Yeah, that always happens.
Oh, dude's kind of gay.
Yeah, you're like,
no, it's technical, man.
Nothing gay about a half guard, dude.
Yeah, yeah.
Even if it wasn't, it's fine.
No, see the way he's shifting his hip?
I know they're nutsacks
they're touching, but you know.
You get used to that
when you do jujitsu.
Yeah.
You're like,
you get desensitized to it quickly.
Yeah.
I feel bad for their faces.
Oh, yeah.
Because I'll watch watch i'll be like
oh man his face yeah that's all i'm like they just slow my this guy's nose exploding and i'm
just like oh the poor guy that's all i can think i'm like it's just that's just that's i think
that's like one level deeper in terms of like sus for an mma fan is when you acknowledge like a fighter's good looking yeah you're like oh it's like no i'm just saying he's good looking like that sucks for him
you know what i mean yeah because he has more to lose yeah yeah it's always funny to see those
elements play out too when it's like a really ugly guy against a really hot guy oh bro yeah
dude i like clay guida versus roger huerta i that one. I was like, Roger's a smoke show.
Yeah.
Clay looks like a caveman.
Let's see who wins.
I love Clay and his pre-fight ritual, that head smacking.
That shit is so just, you know, that's what MMA is supposed to be.
I love, like, the fights where the pretty guy comes in and, you know, and he's got that,
yeah, man, I just, I got a passion for it.
And the other guy on the other side of the ring is like, I'm butt fucking ugly.
And I'm going to kill everybody.
If I wasn't here, I'd be fighting outside the park.
Yeah.
This is in my blood.
Dude, I almost got into a fight at Pan Pacific Park.
I told this story before.
And I smacked my head before the fight to intimidate the other guy.
I was like, come on, you want to fight?
You want to fight?
And then him and his friends just started going, oh, oh.
And it just made me feel really small afterwards.
I was like, oh, fuck.
You're like, that didn't work?
It didn't work at all.
It didn't work at all.
Man, you ever been in a fight, either of you?
I was kind of jumped one time in Spain.
Okay, word.
Nice.
I was with my buddy and we were hammered.
Damn.
Yeah, but they were like small okay small little guys you know and we were just like i was
i was like 18 okay we were just walking and uh they saw that we were american they're like
which is like a yeah homophobic slur yeah um nice i'm just trying to keep it you know
uh and then i see i'm sorry i'm picturing a bunch
of white dudes listening to this being like oh yeah yeah yeah like way to keep it respectful
yeah um and then this dude in white jeans just comes he's doing like a flying kick at me and
then and then he like kind of hits me like it's he lost a lot of momentum in the air for sure and
so he kind of but i fell over because i was like oh yeah and my buddy will who's kind of hits me. Like it's, he lost a lot of momentum in the air. For sure. And so he kind of, but I fell over cause I was like, Oh yeah.
And my buddy Will, who's kind of a bear, he was just like, he was just like hitting them
and then he just like ran away.
And that's like the most.
And then I had my buddy punch me in the face cause I wanted to feel what that's like.
For sure.
That's the most.
That's a good moment.
Yeah.
It felt good.
I was, I was pretty pumped.
Yeah.
Yeah.
If it's not too hard.
Yeah.
He's pretty big too. kind of but i i personally haven't um i just watched my friends fight a lot like in high
school and yeah that shit i don't know i never understood it like you watch when your friends
get beat up or beat somebody and you see them a couple days after and it just always felt like
i don't know if i ever want to go through that.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
I was also small, too, so I was afraid of it.
But I just –
Same here.
I say that to say, like, to fight.
You know, I guess it's kind of relevant, like, with Jake Paul and all that.
He's good.
Yeah, yeah, he's decent.
And I think people hate to admit.
No, he beat my ass.
Yeah.
I mean, to counterpunch like that?
I know Nate Robinson was kind of wild, but he's an amazing athlete.
I mean, dude, knockout power.
Not everyone has that.
Yeah.
You can't be in the gym working that out.
No.
Have that fast twitch.
You kind of horn with it.
Yeah.
He's got it.
That's pretty nice.
I mean, I don't know if he's going to beat, like, you know, what weight is he?
It's like 168 or something.
I don't actually know.
I would venture like 170 or something.
He's pretty big.
He's not going to beat those guys, but he looks pretty sick.
He's not going to beat Canelo Alvarez.
Nah.
Isn't it wild, man?
He's just going to be a zillionaire.
Jake Paul?
Yeah.
We met Logan Paul at the NASCAR thing and I tried to like get him on camera
to like
I tried to embarrass him
a little bit
like I was like
are you
hey man are you happy
and I thought he'd say
something kind of clownish
and he was like
I just work at it every day
and I was like
very reasonable
damn
okay
you fucking moron
are you happy
yeah
and I'm figuring it out
yeah exactly
I was like alright
damn we kind of all are
aren't we
yeah
have you met
because didn't like cody or what you got did you guys have like a beef with jake or i mean phobia
it's like a couple things there but like so jeff from uh vlog the vlog squad crew he has his show
um and then he kind of set up jake to do a surprise appearance and he wasn't planning for what jake was going to do so jake tries to punk cody and he's like why are you bullying kids and
he's like he's clearly doing it for a video and cody's a pretty non-confrontational dude so the
whole interaction is kind of odd to him like he's like uh it's not that serious uh i don't know if
you've ever seen stand-up or comedy before in general but so then like jake threatens to beat his ass a couple
times and nothing happens and that's it and then um only other scenario where we've run into them
is we actually saw logan on a flight we were flying to new york and then he he was flying with
us and he just looked at us and we looked at him and he just sat down he just didn't even just you know it was just kind
of like a yep and then we just sat down and then that was it oh i thought you just didn't even he
just looked at you and just sat down he might have looked through me i mean like he's got that
much money what did you see in his eyes i you know man i think between the two of them i think jake
is actually the dude just like it was kind of i was trying to say earlier, Jake is the kind of guy who wants it.
You know what I mean?
As far as confrontation and a fight and all that, that's in him.
You look through that guy's eyes, you're like, oh, this kid.
He's just one of those guys.
Yeah, he's just one of those dudes.
But Logan, I feel like looking at him, I don't know.
I think his fight was purely just to do it.
And I think he is a nice dude at the center.
People question his sort of,
um,
wanting to change and all that.
And I think he's,
I think he is actually more genuine than he leads on.
And I think with the whole suicide forest thing,
I think he actually was like,
fuck,
I'm,
I'm,
maybe I'm a bad person.
Right.
You know?
So I didn't,
I didn't see the,
you know,
the on version.
I just, yeah, no, you go, you go. Uh, yeah, I just, I, I can't see the, you know, the on version. I just, yeah.
No, you go, you go.
Yeah.
I can, I can, I can see that.
Yeah.
When we, our brief interaction.
Yeah.
I was like, oh, he's sweeter than pie.
Like all these fans are coming up to him.
They're like, Logan, Logan.
He's like, what's up, bro?
What's up?
You know, he's like, he's like very sweet to all of them.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So.
And how many of us would have made that mistake in the japanese suicide forest i don't know probably no one in this room
i mean i don't know i can't speak to it but yeah probably not yeah that's that's funny
just that night when they're like oh dude we dude, we got it. This is gold. We fucking got it, dude. I can't picture JT just being like, woo, JT.
Get body.
I'm sad.
I'm going to kill myself.
Oh, my God, man.
Yeah.
They were holding that memory card like, don't lose this, dude.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Make a copy.
It's like the photo at Tiananmen Square.
They had to give it to agents to get it out of the country yeah it was that valuable i think they said to people for notes
oh my god so like should we have hit it from a different angle because i think it's still there
and like we could definitely get a pickup shot dude yeah should i dub some audio over yeah oh
my god yeah they went back for a reshoot if we found that out. You did a reshoot there?
Yeah.
We didn't get it with the first take.
No, because when Logan did this, he was turned away slightly.
So we wanted to turn his body more to the sunlight.
He's a DP.
He went over there.
He mapped out the light.
So we know exactly where to put him this time.
Yeah, they have a light hanging from the dead guy's head how else are we gonna backlight
it's just a fucking grip i mean it's fucked up but like it's framed out so yeah
that's exactly it's not in the frame don't worry about it
that's hilarious that's crazy do you ever like do you want to fight like do you ever like want to wrestle or so my buddies fought two of my friends fought amateur and um i think there
was a period where i thought i could have gotten a fight for sure and like i trained jujitsu like
very casually and then um recently i started boxing so i know what like real conditioning
is like now and no i mean i i definitely have an interest in sparring, like sparring, you know.
It's fine.
I made my brother spar me for my 30th.
Yeah.
And it was great.
I mean, I think fighting is so, I'm just a, I'm a nerd like that.
So I feel like, you know, fighting is a, is a cool, uh, like math problem, I guess.
Like interesting to like, think about how to use your body and like what you're good
at and all that. So high stakes problem solving with dire consequences yeah that's what my
lord and savior joe rogan says bro um uh shout out my boy uh i haven't talked to him in a minute but
still uh jose raymond he's starting this like uh do you see this event it was like a comedy and
boxing event like jamar neighbors did it oh Yeah. And like some other comics did it.
I just ran into Jamar.
He said he had his first amateur fight and he knocked somebody out.
Was that that?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
The gym is called 10 Goose Boxing.
So they were going to do another event, but they, I think they had to cancel this because
of COVID.
But yeah, it was, I know jamar has been boxing for a minute and the way i
saw the result was so funny because it was like i was going through people's snaps like trying to
or instagram stories trying to find like a link because i know they live streamed it so i'm like
going on this weird hole of like just people i don't know and then so i get to like someone's
instagram and it's jamar, like warming up.
He's got his Mohawk on and he's like,
yeah,
like I'm ready.
He's just being himself.
And then I go like two stories later to some other dudes page.
And then it's the guy he's fighting like on his knees.
And I'm like,
Oh,
I can clap that.
It's just like,
I got the very beginning and the very end of that story.
So I don't know.
Jamar's built to,
Oh yeah.
Yeah. It doesn't look like someone you'd want to fight. No, no. He's such a crazy dude. Yeah. Yeah. very beginning and the very end of that story so i don't know jamar's built too oh yeah yeah
he doesn't look like someone you'd want to fight no no he's such a crazy dude yeah yeah he's so
funny man where are you from uh i'm from toronto but like i pretty much grew up like la area you
grew up around here yeah yeah yeah like what part so i i lived in like um let me bleep that out i
don't know people my arm this part's weird my fans
are weird so like i'm like don't oh they'll follow up yeah dude like i had a weird experience where
uh these girls like doxed my fucking really my mom and like really yeah so what uh what does
it mean to dock someone again to just like so like they added um someone in my family on facebook and the
person in my family was like sort of unsuspecting and like they pieced that together through like
a weird facebook tree and then um they just started tweeting pictures of like my relatives who
don't fuck with the internet at all right and. And like, and naming them and like showing their names and shit and being like,
this is his,
this person,
this is terrifying.
Yeah.
So I don't know if I want to,
if I say where I grew up,
we'll jump on it.
Did that change your attitude towards how you interact with your fans?
Yes.
Yes.
How so?
Well,
I'm in a,
I feel like I'm in a weird place where that was like my first taste of,
people take it to another level so now i'm really like people don't know where i grew up and they don't really know any
of my family or and i don't even i know it's been a running joke but i've i've just kind of like
doubled down on it like i don't even talk about my race. Cause like people, they just,
a lot of people wrote in,
I asked,
I was like,
Hey,
what are some questions we can ask?
And everyone's like,
ask him what race he is.
I was like,
I'm probably not going to ask.
I mean,
I wouldn't say just cause it's funny.
Like,
well,
it is like kind of like,
you know,
I think a lot of great artists are kind of ciphers,
right?
Like you don't really know much about them.
So you kind of fill it in how you want to.
I mean,
is that what you're thinking a little bit or no?
No, I actually, when i started doing stand-up i i found that by acknowledge like i feel like
every mixed race comedian the set is the same i know you're wondering what is this guy like it's
this uh and i felt like i was kind of like zoning into those uh just tropes or whatever completely yeah yeah and so i started to
just not acknowledge it just to try to say okay what do i have to say if it doesn't have to do
with my face or whatever and so i kind of started zoning in on you know funnier things at least to
me like you know rather than my mom how she looks like the type of abuse she put on me right
right right you know and then like kind of leaving it open to interpretation but like a stupid joke
that i and not attributing said abuse to because of her background her background yeah yeah it's
more a personal choice she made yeah like a stupid joke i'd come up with was you know and it if you
relate you relate you know i said that uh my mom and her siblings were like the avengers
of child abuse like they would like pass around like you know like a house object like fucking
thor's hammer like she'd hit me with it and throw it to her sister um uh no thankfully i didn't like
my cousins would yeah and and or sometimes we'd get like sheep herded it was crazy really there'd be
like 15 kids in a room and then some like uncle running around the newspaper no way yeah and he's
just you know he's he's just trying to you know get a high score like he's just trying to get
whatever he can get yeah yeah we thought that was hilarious yeah like just you know a line of kids moving through the house yeah what are you doing yeah yeah was it a strict house um yeah um in in their own way but like definitely you
like to watch like rated r movies and stuff like that sort of it just depended who like was drunk
and who cared who was in charge yeah yeah yeah yeah and you know sometimes it was like you can't
watch this at all and other
times it was you know yeah come on and so but yeah i think they kind of gave up on it because
we figured out where their vhs tapes were so we had just you know when they were gone and we were
with grandma and grandma fell asleep at 12 it's like we're watching this what were like the movies
that kind of or what what inspired you to kind of get into the career you're in bro i got exposed
to friday soup like at the wrong age i was like six except like mad young and me and my cousin
we started we watched the first 20 minutes of the movie and we're like yo this is crazy like
and uh and you know then we watched the next day and then like I think from
there like I don't know comedy just kind of clicked and then as I got older I
discovered you know stand up on TV like anyone else and what is it about Friday
because I know it's a big touchstone movie for a lot of people I like it I
especially like the end when Craig kicks Deebo's ass yeah throws the brick at his
face but I guess like it's in Tarantino's like favorite movies of the
90s and I don't know if I understand why it's like that significant but i'm also corny
i mean i think for me as a like a kid i think characters like that were just uh i don't know
they're just super compelling and and the the neighborhood kind of looked like where my cousins
lived at the time so there was like a relatability there and then um some of the characters in there
like we'd see around so you know it was like oh that's kind of like you know we were young but
like you could kind of at least i was apt enough to like piece together stuff like i have like this
really distinct memory that was like super funny to me where um there's a kid so clearly getting like jumped in to like a you know a gang or a clique
or something on my cousin's front lawn and my mom is like bugging out like her eyes are huge and
she's kind of looking at my dad like yo like get in the car and my dad is just like he just kind
of looks over at it and he just doesn't he just like it
just escaped him somehow maybe because it was in the night but like you know so it was just sort of
that was the connection for me and like to people on screen and i think i was more casual the
juxtaposition was your dad was just chilling and then this like hyper violent thing is happening
yeah but i just don't throw it yeah i mean like in within the context of friday i think you know
you just catch elements of that.
But also, I think it was a lot of the performance, you know.
Are you a Chris Tucker fan?
Unnaturally, you know.
Yeah.
Like...
I found his stand-up was super influential for me.
Really?
His early Def Jam.
Okay.
Because he just came out and he had this...
His character was so well-defined.
Mm-hmm.
He just came...
I tried to imitate him a little bit. sure that's cool too that's great yeah yeah
in both his sets in depth change can be like pissed off man and dude I would
try to go to open mics I'd be like yeah I'm there were avery the guy every pearson who's on the piano all the time
he's like oh i was like it led me somewhere but you know that was like a stepping stone but
he's pretty incredible like yeah fifth element oh yeah he's like the talk show host that like
yeah i remember i was really blown away by his like seduction skills in that movie yeah yeah
that that too as a kid seeing him go from friday to uh yeah like in
the fifth element you know that that was crazy i think just to see um i think that always like
nailed him as a performer in my mind between like that rush hour and you know yeah and then he kind
of disappeared yeah which was was bizarre it's It's crazy that you say Chris Tucker.
Chris Rock definitely was like my...
Oh, Chris Rock.
Yeah.
It was like...
What was kind of cool was my...
Part of my family was sort of...
They were like, oh, you should be in show business.
Because I was mixed.
Like, that was like, oh, you know, you would do well.
It was like crazy how early they were like plotting that.
Interesting.
Yeah.
And they never did anything to get me in it. it was just like always hammered in my head like oh this
is what you should be doing but yeah they would expose me like chris rock and then as i got older
it was i got a chris rock dvd gifted to me and then chapelle's two stand-ups gifted to me yeah
and then i would just bang those like on repeat on the DVD player
Yeah, so anyway, I know tangent no, yeah
I heard the early Chappelle Chris rock
I mean it was just as a kid when he watched that you're just like yeah, this is incredible. Yeah
Yeah, just blows your mind a little bit. It's funny the stuff
I liked Chris rockin was like it was it wasn't even a stamp. I liked him in like Lethal Weapon 4
He's doing bits in that movie. It's yeah and i watch it back now i'm like oh he's not a great actor but he just had so much charisma it kind of didn't matter isn't
that crazy i think now like modern film is way heavy on performance and versus then i feel like
the rock is like the last the rock and kevin are like the last of personality-based casting.
You know what I mean?
Right.
Like where the whole movie is molded to be like, and then they come in here and they're just going to do themselves.
Right.
You know what I mean?
Interesting.
I feel like 90s was completely about that.
Like, oh, we're going to write the role, but they're just going to be their person,
you know,
whatever they are.
Right.
You know,
whereas now it's like,
I think it's so hypercritical and,
and,
um,
it,
you know,
they need to be a certain way.
I don't know.
Maybe I'm wrong,
but I hear you for sure.
I mean,
I,
I,
I've been during all of quarantine,
I've been on a nineties movie binge.
Cause they,
they just have a feel to them where it's just like,
I don't know if it's cause that's when I grew up, but yeah or you just you just feel like you're like oh it's a movie
like this is it's fun yeah that's that's what i feel when i when i watch 90s movies i think where
you're just like you're just like okay it's not so yeah you know it's not so like it's not like
fine art you're just it's like this just you're having a good time no i mean it, it's not like fine art. It's like this just, you're having a good time.
No, I mean, it's even down to like the editing and the shots.
Like they're, the movies now are so dialed in.
It's like, it's fucked up, you know?
Because they've kind of lost their personality because everyone kind of knows how to make a film like efficiently and effectively.
Yeah.
And I think that there becomes becomes there's just so much emphasis
on the technical aspect and you know i think i mean look at a24 they take stories that
are so should be mundane and they turn that into fine art and you're like wait this is a movie
about a cow like like have you seen the ad for that one like it's literally about like this cow
coming to a small
village and then people learning how to make pastries out of the milk like but you that's
like a 60 minute segment that shouldn't be a movie i know yeah but like you feel like you're
watching this beautiful thing and like it turns you into some kind of bozo where you watch it and
you're like no like milk has this deeper meaning like they shot that in the 90s like it just would
have been so goofy you know like yeah they just would have put the camera down and been like i guess that looks good you know what i mean i
don't know i think there's something to that like your limitations can be your style often yeah if
everyone on the set is like a total pro yeah you're not going to really get any of that character that
you get from like robert altman he's like everyone thinks he's one of the greatest filmmakers ever if
you watch his movie mccabe and miss miller you can't hear a word in the first 20 minutes.
Like the dialogue's unintelligible
because they were so bad.
He wanted to get like this panoramic dialogue
where you could hear everybody talking.
You can't make out shit that bleeds or something.
Yeah, it's like,
but it's an amazing movie.
It's like brilliant.
It's almost better
because you can't hear anything.
You're like listening harder
and you're like,
you're like,
oh, it's a choice.
Interesting.
But you'd never see that in a modern movie
where like, no, they just fuck up the sound for 20 minutes yeah and still put it out it's a
classic everyone loves it yeah that's so great yeah uh yeah i've watched armageddon recently
yeah oh nice i've never had a better time i should go back and re-watch that man damn it's dude it's
good we watched it with the ben affleck commentary too and he's like he's on one it's really funny yeah he kind of shreds the whole movie yeah have you guys seen that movie
um the lighthouse it's like it's newer i didn't like it he didn't like it you go first um no i
mean i i think that that was like a director's movie you know like that that was very um it definitely ran
a little too long but that was like deep i love i watched the how they made it they built that
lighthouse it was such a involved process it took like six months to make and and you know these
crazy things within the set like it was, it was just so much production effort.
And I was like, yeah, I would recommend it to people.
And they'd be like, yeah, dude, 10 minutes in, I was out of there.
And the language is so specific.
He probably, that guy did another movie where he like researched like old dialects and like
he writes them like, I guess as accurately as he can.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Why, why didn't you like, I mean, I guess i just didn't care about like their relationship
that much like in the end when whatever happens happens i was like all right yeah yeah i wasn't
like i didn't it didn't affect me i guess totally yeah that's where i say it's like a director's
movie because you're just purely watching it to be like oh my god and you direct right yeah yeah
you know i um i'm so weird about like that stuff. You just want to be humble.
I get it.
I don't know.
I feel like because it's all sort of like on my own stuff,
I feel like I didn't earn it per se.
Yeah, I paid some guys who went to school for this,
and they let me pretend I'm directing.
Do your Steve job.
You conduct the orchestra.
Yeah, I mean, it's definitely a muscle i'm trying to flex and get better at and um it's uh
people are not forgiving with art especially now like we're trying to make it i feel
what do you mean like online yeah on the internet like the way people receive stuff
yeah like you can you or you know it's a lot of kids clearly with like narcissistic parents who
you know told them everything they did was wrong and that
how they should have done it then they just project that onto you and you're like man i just
i was just trying to make something i'm sorry yeah that is kind of you you do i'll get a lot
of comments on like what you could have done better yeah it's a lot of like you should and
it's like listen your parents might have said that shit about your math test but this is not
the same thing like Like relax. Yeah.
But yeah.
Yeah.
I enjoy it for sure.
Is that what you want to do though?
Like be like a film director?
I think eventually I think it's the thing I'll land on.
Um, I've always, uh, loved it.
And I think out of all the things I try to do, it's probably the thing I'm the best at when, you know, cause even, even with comedy and like trying to do standup and stuff, I always feel this slight sort of, I'm trying to tell a joke that should be a script kind of thing.
Like, you know, I'll say something.
And I've just had so many moments where I'll say some dumb shit to a crowd and they're like, you should put that in a video.
It's the best fit for your expression.
Yeah, yeah, you know.
I think, so yeah, yeah.
Nice.
Who are your, what directors do you like?
I mean, dude, I should not be butchering his name.
Ari, what's his last name?
He did like Hereditary.
Oh, Aster?
Dude, I haven't seen any of his movies.
Man, I just watched Hereditary alone.
Oh, I love that movie.
It's so good.
It's so good.
And it's like, there are moments in there you shouldn't laugh at, but like had me crying.
Yeah.
That's so funny.
Yeah, you should check out his stuff.
I'll watch it.
I'm kind of sensitive to scary movies.
That's why I've kind of avoided it.
Yeah.
That one can be a little rough.
You know, definitely watch it with the lady or something.
Yeah, she's got a more cerebral brain.
She won't get as scared as i do
i i on halloween i was i was out to dinner and um i was like i gotta watch a scary movie my
girlfriend doesn't like them so i'm like i'm just i'm like i'm going home i'm gonna watch
right here i got like 40 minutes in it's like midnight and i was like i'll i'll wait till day
it took me a week to finish it oh man but then i was you know i loved it yeah it's it's crazy i
mean spoiler alert uh when the way he did the the head falling off in the darkness into the
soccer ball yeah you know it's just like and and how he framed the whole thing to look like a doll
house i assume you picked up on that aspect but yeah it's just i think he's got like such cool ideas and and the way he you know does that stuff is super interesting
i mean the you know not to be fucking not to be mainstream but like i think the softy brothers
are super interesting yeah you know just their um i still haven't watched it but they did a movie
in 2014 where they casted like a actual like i think drug
abuser like either she was current or former and they like i think they made her the main character
and um you know i i i picked up on them after watching good time and uh i think that was my
favorite by then yeah yeah i i think uh uncut gems was like very um i feel like that was the
more studio version of what they do.
But I think they're interesting in how they sort of, they bring real life to cinema, which
is, I think, super hard to do now.
But sorry, I'm sounding like a dork.
No, you're right.
It's true.
No, no.
Because the woman that they cast in Uncut Gems, as like the bottle service slash like
Adam Sandler love interest.
Yeah.
She was incredible, but she wasn't an actress. That was just like a friend of theirs from new york and like but when i watched
that movie i'm like oh my god it was like she's like in it yeah so wild and then putting kevin
garnett in there and then i don't know yeah they really do do a good job with that and then just
the tension they can sustain over an entire movie it's almost too much for me i'm like all right
dude like yeah let me off the hook yeah okay j i was like i just paid for a panic attack yeah i think i had a panic attack on my way there anyway so by the time i got in i was like i'm so
fucked yeah i was in the theater i was looking over at people and people were like like their
heads were i was like everyone no one's having a good time no i i have a theory because i watched
uncaged gems first okay and then i watched good time and i i have a theory hate it that
whichever one you see first, you'll like more.
Because it's your first introduction to their style.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Because when I saw Good Time, I was somewhat familiar with it.
Because when I first saw Uncut Gems, I was like, holy shit.
Because the style was so unique.
Yeah.
And I was like, that was incredible afterwards.
And then I saw Good Time.
I was like, it was great. But that's a good time i was like it was great but i was like but i felt a little bit more yeah i just a little i liked uncut gems
a little bit more yeah i already knew what they were doing a little bit yeah yeah yeah but yeah
no i i agree with that i feel even you know even with like tarantino films i think you know uh
uh it's kind of the same thing.
It's not to say that like you figure him out and you know what he's doing, but you definitely,
you're like, oh, okay, this is like one of his movies.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Maybe that's why I like Pulp Fiction the most because that was just my first intro to him.
So I was like, this is like a brand new thing.
Yeah.
And now every time I see something, I'm like, although it does feel like he's gotten a little
bit more like tedious or something like that. Yeah. I think by like- To something, I'm like, although it does feel like he's gotten a little bit more, like, tedious or something like that.
Yeah, I think by, like.
Not to speak ill of the masters, but.
No, I mean, I think by the time he had, like, was it the Hateful Eight?
It was, I think that was, you know, again, it was, like, very studio.
Very, very, when you compare that to Pulp Fiction, I feel, you know, Pulp Fiction just kind of kind of had like kind of what you're saying like that early movie making charm where it's just it's a bit gritty and and um not as evolved i
guess but so are you like wary of working with like within like kind of systems like that like
would you prefer to like make stuff just sort of yeah on your own yeah because i feel you know
they'll steal like the authenticity from it maybe i think what a lot of it is is that um
i said this about stranger things like this the third season the third season i thought was
it was bad purely because of the technical aspect it felt like shots that were just sort of
pre pre-printed and like you know i felt like the whole thing was shot in like 10 days.
It was kind of just like, all right. Yeah. So this is the closeup.
So use that lens and just frame it here and just make sure she's 10 feet from
the camera and it's going to look like this. And then, you know,
it was just like bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, just knock them all out.
And I feel like with studio,
you kind of end up going that way because you have a union and you have to
make sure you're only this many hours and you know, so you kind of end up going that way because you have a union and you have to make sure you're only this many hours and you know so you kind of start you know it just becomes a machine versus
like yeah the stuff i've done all the stuff i've done is sort of indie and it's a bit like
hey man we fucked up on the time like you know i treat the crew right and maybe you know they'll
just like hush hush the meal penalty.
And then you get something.
And in all that madness, something comes out and everyone goes,
damn, if we were union job, there's no way we could have did that.
And so you kind of come away with material that is unique to that workflow
where it's not a lot of money and a big microscope on what you're doing.
Werner Herzog calls it the apparatus. And he's like, the apparatus gets in the way.
All I need is my camera in the jungle.
Do you think like the chaos of being in those like kind of like not hyper professional sets, do you think that sparks more creativity for you?
Yeah, because I'll never forget this.
Like the first short I did um you know the writing
was pretty bogus but you know we had some cool shots in there we it was it was the first thing
i had like produced and directed and like producing you know after that i was like i'll never do that
again and we get to a point in the day where i had just completely fucked us on time and you know completely
overestimated what we were capable of doing and uh the gaffer uh shout out to my guy tom he
i'm panicking and he looks at me he goes hey bud he's like this is filmmaking just figuring stuff
out on the fly and from that point i'd always remembered that and and um i think at this point
now um that's almost like the fun when you know, like, the clock is ticking and you're like, all right, we got 15 minutes.
What's the dopest shit we could do in 15 minutes?
And then, like, then it becomes really dope because then everyone in the room, like, the gaffer and the key grip are like, well, you know, like, I'll hang from that fucking tree, like, if you don't say anything.
You know, and you're like, okay, yeah.
And then, you know. It adds excitement, too. Like, oh oh we're doing something bad yeah yeah exactly yeah people have skin in the game yeah yeah and then everyone loves coming away with
like a war story and they'll like look at that frame forever and go oh dude to get this fucking
a man me and caleb had to do this thing and yeah yeah it's fun i feel like there's a charm to that that kind of
work too that the audience can subconsciously definitely because a lot of times you see artists
who like they'll have something huge that comes out and then they like get their their big sort
of they get a ton of money to do something bigger they're like all right you're awesome yeah here's
a bunch of money and then they like kind of you're like oh now they're super produced and
they lost sort of the that punk charm that that like that drew you in as an audience member yeah
you know what i mean oh 100 yeah and everyone calls it you know like selling out or whatever
but it's not that it's just like oh they just got too much money yeah they made it too easy on them
yeah i think like the only way to beat that is um do
you guys listen to bad bunny at all or like are you sort of i know like mia okay is that the one
hit with drake yeah killer song well his like primary director is dude stills um this guy is
mega talented um he like finds a way to get all that money and i think he's there's such a good
example of like getting that money and doing the most you know yeah so it still maintains that like yeah you know his most recent
music video he is performing like out in the desert with like these kids like skating a bowl
and it's like this bowl that's clearly in the middle of death valley and it's like wow they
really paid a bunch of people to go skate in Death Valley.
That's so much money.
A studio would have been like,
oh, we have one on the back lot.
Don't waste your money.
They paid for an 18-wheeler to cross frame
just for the opening shot.
I'm like, that's dope.
Yeah, it must have cost like 100 grand
and he's just checking it off.
I love those shots.
In The Irishman, there's just this shot where they're just hucking cabs into the river.
They huck like six of them into the river.
Or like Scorsese will do a cutaway of a car exploding.
Yeah, and you're just like, what?
You're like, that's $100,000 for three seconds of screen time.
That's hilarious.
Bro, I just saw a clip of a Limp Bizkit concert.
Dude.
You saw that shit on Twitter? No, but I went to one when I was in fifth grade. Bro, I just saw a clip of a Limp Bizkit concert. Dude. You saw that shit on Twitter?
No, but I went to one when I was in fifth grade.
Oh, word?
No, it was a MTV concert, but he blew up a fucking boat as part of his set.
It's just like out on the water, and he's just hunched over, and they're waiting for
the buildup, and the boat just goes fucking boom.
I was like, yo, that's theest like stage effect you could ever have yeah i saw these comments of
people saying oh man limp this gets corny but and they all have these crazy stories about his shows
yeah it's just i don't know it was just like a cool like he's well he's a director i mean he
directs movies have you seen his his film i haven't he's got one that education of charlie
banks it's about a ruffian who gets like caught up in like a east coast prep school okay like Well, he's a director. I mean, he directs movies. Have you seen his films? I haven't. He's got one, The Education of Charlie Banks.
It's about a ruffian who gets caught up in an East Coast prep school scene.
And there's literally conversations about deconstructionalist philosophy in it.
And you're watching it, and the whole time you're just like, Fred Durst directed this?
Wow.
Yeah, I didn't even know he had a name.
I want to see this.
That's dope.
I just know him as a horny dude who'd like to bring it on stage.
There's clearly some stuff going on up there.
Bring it on stage.
Dude, that would be tenacious.
I would love to have the opportunity to be like,
no, we're going to have a fighter jet just flying.
You're just going to add some crazy shit to this.
People are like, okay.
They're like, sure.
That is the dream.
Yeah, yeah.
We're going to have jet skiers just flying over you.
I did the, not to whatever, but so I put out a music project.
That's not important.
I mainly-
Your album that just came out?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And you're accompanying videos and stuff?
Yeah.
I mainly, so I made the music and then I was just going to put it out.
And I was like, you know, it would be really dope to have like a crazy visual for this.
And then,
um,
I just like went way overboard.
Cause it was like a bit of a sentimental thing.
And I thought,
well,
if I can only do this once,
like why not like do the craziest shit I can do?
It was nuts.
Like you on top of the car.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I appreciate that.
You watched it.
Fucking.
I only bring that up because that was like,
I only got a taste of like that.
Like, Oh, I want to fly a jet over something like um my fiance she you know has just been in the production world
for a minute and through a couple friends she gets the stunt uh court or one of the main stunt
guys from mad max he was the dude who like sprayed his face with the paint and then jumped with the
two spears onto the car so we hit him up and we tell him the stunt and he's like, he's just like some
chilled out Australian dude. And he's like, oh yeah, that's easy. I was like, what? That's easy?
And every producer I talked to was like, they wanted nothing to do with that stunt. Like they
were like, no, that's so expensive. It's going to cost you so much money. And they were talking
about like, you need to buy a car and like drill into it.
And he had the crazy,
I don't want to reveal it,
but he had like the smallest,
simplest setup.
I couldn't believe it.
And,
um,
and like,
so that feeling of like riding that car,
like in the desert with like this fucking,
you know,
jib crane,
like,
or,
you know,
this pursuit systems camera going around my head.
I was like looking at this,
like,
dude,
I'm not even scratching the surface.
Like Tom Cruise shit must be so dope. Like i get why he wants to do all his like yeah
yeah he's like built his life around that he doesn't do the movie unless it has something
so crazy brand new death he's going to space yeah we did a city council speech about that we want to
renew the space station after him dude he's as of hope. He's the man. Guys,
I'm interrupting this podcast to let you know once again that
we are brought to you by Manscaped. Manscaped, thank you
so much for keeping your trims pubed,
for keeping our trims pubed, for looking after
our hogs, for making sure that our
dongles are looking fresh and
clean because
when it's a
holiday season, okay, and you want a
holiday sweater, you want something with reindeer on it that's going to let people know,
holy shit, this dude is jolly.
But you know what else you'll need?
Well-trimmed pubes because you want to differentiate between the fuzzy, ugly sweater you got on your torso and the sweater you got around your dong.
And you want to make a statement that's saying, you know what?
I know about fashion for the upper half of saying you know what i know about fashion for the
upper half of my body and i know about fashion for my dink and i know how to properly take care
of it i've got ball deodorant on there i've well trimmed pubes and uh my bell end is fully It's epic. Free.
And, guys, the performance package is the number one wish for gift of the year.

is the Weed Whacker. That's a nose hair trimmer.
It's excellent. 9,000 RPM,

admitted that long nose hair is a major turnoff,
so get rid of that stuff today with the
Manscaped Weed Whacker.
The Lawn Mower 3.0.
Best for your balls, butt, and body.
I Manscaped my chest area.
I wanted to go you know keep the
hair but trim it up a little bit so it's not too haywire and i did that with a lawnmower 3.0 and it
was super easy dads can't stop talking about it tis the season ho ho ho jingle all the way
freaking uh you know that arnold schwarzenegger movie and i bet you had trim pubes in that
i bet you arnold schwarzenegger trims his pubes.
I know it. He manscaped his way
to the top of
entertainment, government,
and real estate.
And he's one on the call sheet.
So when one on the call sheet
is trimming their pubes, that's
permeating throughout the rest of the crew.
Then he got, rest in
peace, comedy legend, comedy genius,
Phil Harmon, he's shaving his pubes.
Comedy legend, comedy genius, Sinbad, he's shaving
his pubes. It's going, Jake Lloyd,
the nine-year-old kid on the movie who would later be
in the Star Wars franchise. He's
trimming, he probably doesn't
have pubes, but he would if he could.
And it's just, it's
going all the way through. It's setting the tempo.
It's snowing pubes from the legends of our time absolutely and you can snow your pubes onto you know everyone

go deep 20 at manscaped.com send back to the show your songs are so good by the way i was
watching the music videos and like i I listened to them a few times over
because they're just like, they're really well done.
Oh, thank you, man.
They're super, yeah.
I was just like kind of rocking out.
Oh, man.
Damn.
Like the TMG stuff?
TMG, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Good word.
With that stuff, you really did a good job of like, it's like funny,
but it's great.
It's good to listen to as well.
Oh, thank you, man.
Yeah, we try to toe the line.
It's a hard thing to do, you have a swag too like in the video in your latest video forgive me i forget the name sophia sophia that's right uh there's a part where
your eyes turn back to normal but you kind of like do this thing with your like jack i was like
dandy's you got like a swag i wanted to
talk about that too i noticed that instantly when i watched your music videos i was like
i was watching i was like oh he really commands the frame oh damn thank you like a proper uh i
don't know like hip-hop artist or superstar yeah yeah is that something you practice like those
close-ups like how to drill that little facial expression no i just kind of think i just try to separate myself a little bit and i try to just purely look at it like okay if
i'm delivering the track and the tone of the track you don't want the subject to be too it's purely
like a technical thing like i'm just like all right just performance yeah like don't deliver
this in such a way that but is that a part of you that you're happy to get out um man that's it
that's a good ass question i've never thought about it like that yeah i've truly never thought about it
like that because when you watch like donald glover do music he there's this part of him that
i was like oh i get why he had to do that because like you can't do that in stand-up
yeah no you can't have your shirt open and be like
i mean no i man that's that's like that's the craziest question anyone's ever asked me.
No, I've actually never thought about it like that.
It's just purely, I try to keep it pretty humble.
I try not to get on frame and be like, I'm the rapper now.
You know what I mean?
Okay.
I just try to think, okay, visually, what gonna make the track like kind of have a complete experience.
You know,
if we're kind of fucking around on camera,
it might pull people out of it.
And so,
you know,
just maybe be a bit more serious about it,
but yeah,
that's,
yeah.
Just commit to the part that you're playing in that moment.
Sort of.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Cause with TMG lyrics,
it's super,
um,
man,
that song,
you know,
it's, it's's crazy i assume you're
familiar with fantano yeah he fucking like hated it and really he was like yeah uh someone like
linked me a cut of him like like really hating the song and he's like it's it's so bad and it's
it's not parody of anything and blah blah blah and um i don't think he watched the music video
and it bummed me out because i'm like
oh dude this song was just purely like what if your fleshlight was like a person right you know
like that was the inspiration for the girl with the robot head and all that like yeah you know
the whole backstory of that was just uh oh wouldn't it be funny if like the the video girl was like ai
yeah you know and then well i think that i think that's that's brilliant to to to do it that way but wouldn't it be funny if the video girl was AI? Yeah. And then...
I think that's brilliant to do it that way
where it's not so clearly parody.
Oh, thanks, man.
Because we did a music video one time,
and a lot of JT was sort of like,
yeah, you've got to do this as sincerely as possible
because if you go too far in the Weird Al kind of realm,
I feel like it's sort of like
when people are watching it,
they're like,
is this like,
this is like really good.
They're sort of like,
I don't really know what I'm seeing,
but I like it.
I think that's the best way to do that.
Yeah, no, I completely agree.
Isn't it crazy how with Weird weird al he was like the dude for
like comedy music and then yeah now it's like you there's no one who could be like that guy
right he was like the only guy for a long time right at least when we were younger right yeah
yeah i mean no i think you're right it was like randy newman before him and right now yeah that's
about it that's kind of like i guess indicative of hollywood and stuff then too
it was like they just picked one person yeah like yeah there's only enough room for one person in
that spot yeah i was kind of thinking about also do you feel like i feel like audiences today have
a better understanding of what the performer's thinking when they go into certain projects so
they almost allow you to do more stuff yeah they would have in weird hours of time.
That's such a good point, man.
That's such a fucking dope observation.
Yeah, it's so true.
I think that definitely helps to do stuff.
And then they're rooting for you and shit.
Yeah, I think Sophia is a great example.
I think that's what pushes us to ride that line
is we kind of fall back on the fact that,
ah, everybody knows we're just having fun with it you
know and or we that's what we assume and uh so yeah like we have that comfort to go all right
let's push it like let's not let's maybe make the jokes a little less obvious let's not you know
because for a while going in the studio was like all right let's get a fart ad lib you know just
put it in there somewhere and you
know then it's like okay people know we fucked around maybe we tried doing without it and it
just sort of steps up from there but yeah that's that's it is crazy to think i mean i even isn't
that so weird like the paras parasocial thing like when you feel like you know a creator or a person
and you're like watching their shit and you're like oh man that's that's
so rogan he would do that and you're like this fool doesn't fucking know me yeah i don't know
no it's interesting though it's i think especially with podcasts it put the audience in a relationship
where they're really rooting for the person they're listening to yeah and you can like chart
their growth yeah which i think makes it i don't know it's a more interesting experience for them
than just yeah having a detached relationship to like an actor most definitely it's a more interesting experience for them than just having a detached relationship to an actor.
Most definitely.
Do you guys ever feel sort of...
Like when you get on, when you record, do you feel sort of an obligation to be your best self?
That sounds really goofy, but sort of...
Do you know what I mean?
Yeah.
You kind of want to represent for the people that listen to you and make sure they're happy and that sort of thing. Like, yeah, you're like,
I want to be like 20% vulnerable, 20% funny. I'm like, this is the question that I expect of me.
Yeah. Yeah. But then you also have this part of yourself that's like, but I also have to honor
myself. Right. I might not give them what they want, but in the end they'll love me more for it.
And then you get the hate comment and you're like, you should have not told that joke like that. And you're like, oh fuck. Yeah. Like you've changed comment you're like you should have not told that joke like that
and you're like oh fuck yeah like you've changed and you're like i have changed huh yeah or maybe
i was always this person yeah yeah i think uh i think it's it's part of that but i also kind of
i always i don't know if i want to like uh show them like uh growth sure maybe yeah it's sort of like every time it's like i want to i want them
to sort of be like oh he's like he's improving i think that's sort of maybe that's sort of the
goal maybe it's just in competition with myself no that's i mean i think i think uh i mean to
your credit dude like i think stand-up definitely like hammers that mentality home you know
that's why I love stand up it's like it's all on you
and you can sort of like
it's just you can see
that instant kind of like
I had a good set boat
I mean I have no issue saying dude so I was at
a west side mic one time
and I had
gone there with some
bullshit jokes um i don't think i ever ended
up going on but you had got up and you you were like murdering oh i was yeah really yeah
and i but i remember like watching you perform and i'm like i'm like it like inspired me and i
was like yo that shit was fucking hilarious
like I just remember
this like strong
like
impression you had left
cause
it
I appreciated so much
how dialed in
just the whole performance was
and
oh thanks man
yeah and I watched that
and I thought
man like
that's what stand up is
you know
and fuck anyone in this room
that's not laughing
like that's what you're supposed to be
you're supposed to get up there and like do your thing wow thank that makes
you feel so good thank you yeah because i you know i tweeted tweet i treated stand-up so much
like going up there and spitting out tweets like just dumb premises and whatever and and so see it
go up there and like commit i'm like i'm like disrespectful that I'm coming here with my fucking half-ass.
Wouldn't it be funny if like, what am I doing here, bro?
So, yeah.
Oh, thank you. I think it was the Chris Tucker influence because he came up.
And him and Sebastian Mascalco.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like, when I watch Sebastian, he walks up there when you watch him live.
You're laughing right when he walks up there when you watch him live he's he's you're laughing right when he walks up yeah
because he he like he's he's mastered his physicality and his presence so much that like
just being in his presence makes you laugh which like chapelle has i think naturally but i think
i respected like sebastian and because you can tell he he created that yeah so we're i'm you
know chapelle obviously worked on his craft a ton,
but he sort of had that naturally.
He was always kind of like,
yeah, how do I get that?
But like Sebastian, tons of natural talent,
but you can tell he really sort of like
created this persona.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
I feel he's sort of the, almost like one of the last of that sort of um
style of comedian yeah i feel like that's like sort of big now like you know i could be wrong
because i feel like modern comedy is so much like knowing the person knowing their name and the way
like stand-up stories are now I feel like it's so serious.
Like so many comics,
I feel get on stage and they're like,
yeah,
so I was molested and everyone's like,
like they're supposed to laugh at that.
Yeah.
And,
and it's,
it's this weird shift where I feel like you don't see a lot of performative
standup.
Does that make sense?
Or yeah. Bullshitting here. I don't know. No, I know what you mean. see a lot of performative standup. Does that make sense? Or yeah.
Bullshitting here.
I don't know.
No,
I know what you mean.
Like,
it's kind of most of the people's accent was kind of steeped in some
pathos,
but you don't get these people who are playing like pure characters.
That's why I love what you guys do.
Like,
you know,
I love watching your videos.
I'm like,
I mean,
this shit is like amazing.
Cause it's like,
it's just such commitment and it's not sort of,
you know,
cause I'm,
I'm,
I'm guilty of the thing I'm critical of,
which is I would go on stage and sort of lean into my trauma.
And then you realize, bro, this is not therapy.
Like, you're not supposed to get up there and be like, yeah, it's like this happened when I was five and this happened when I was eight and this happened when I was 12.
So that's funny, right?
You know, everyone's like, yeah, I guess.
Like, you know, but yeah.
Especially open mics.
I'll use them as therapy, though. Like if something happens with me, I'm like, I don't know how to process I've, I've, especially open mics. I'll use them as therapy though.
Like if something like happens with my, I'm like, I don't know how to process this.
I'm like three open mics.
You're so good at it.
You're able to, to, to bring that, that you're able to talk about what's going on and make
it hilarious.
Oh, thank you, dude.
Yeah, man.
I was going to ask you about, so you're like, what did you call it?
Para, parasocial relationship.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I've never heard that, but, uh, like, cause your you call it? Para. Para social relationship. Yeah. Yeah. I've never heard that.
But, uh, like, cause your relationship with, with your fiance now, like, I feel like following
you, it's like your, your fans are super invested in it and it's something that people engage
with.
Is that, I don't know.
Does that, what is that like?
It's, I'm not, I'm not a really, um, I know I talk a lot and I'm like willing to share a lot, but I'm weirdly private.
So, you know, I'll mention, I'm like, I'm happy to talk about things that have happened to me or like things I've seen.
But your experiences.
Yeah.
But, you know, when it comes to like sort of like real time stuff, you know, I don't, I don't really say like too much about like, oh, me and my fiance are going to go do this or like that.
And, you know know i'll let sort
of time marinate and let them crop up so like to have people um genuinely care about our relationship
i mean just flat out it's it's it's it's a weird world for me like to you know i've made this joke
before but the some some people that follow me on the internet they care more about me than my
own parents in ways like you know like i just mentioned casually that i had like i still have
eczema as an adult and i got all these people dming me like you should try this cream and i do
this cream for my eczema and like i think it would be really helpful for you like all the way down to
i got on twitch the other day and someone's like, oh, your arms are looking better.
I'm like, I mean, I noticed that as well today, but I didn't realize you were paying attention.
You know, so it's this, you know, I don't know how you categorize that or how you're supposed to treat that.
It's still new, you know, like I don't.
But so you consider yourself kind of
private in a way yeah because you know it's like me and my girlfriend go out and all that you know
i i don't post stuff like that like my day-to-day interactions are sort of whatever i think like a
big moment like you know us getting engaged i think it's a big deal and i think that's something
i would have told friends anyway so it's, I'm comfortable posting something like that. Cause
it's like, Hey, we're engaged. But, um, other than that, yeah, I, I, I do struggle, I think,
to open up because if you look at anything I'm ever posting, it's like, I'm either telling some
dumb joke or I'm sort of in character or like I'm in like an office, but you don't ever really know.
Like, yeah, but I feel like I know you do from watching your stuff. Yeah. Yeah. office, but you don't ever really know. But I feel like I know you.
Do you?
From watching your stuff.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Maybe I have a weird perception of private.
I don't know.
No, it's interesting.
Because I mean, there's definitely stuff I don't talk about, stuff that I like probably will never talk about.
Hopefully I'll get to a place where I feel comfortable enough to talk.
Yeah.
But then I do share a lot too.
Yeah.
But it's this weird, it's kind of just intuitive.
I'm just like, oh no, that one stays back.
This one can go out.
Yeah. Yeah. Maybe private's kind of just intuitive. I'm just like, oh, no, that one stays back. This one can go out.
Yeah, maybe private is not a good word. I think maybe I use that word because I have like a, because I'm me, obviously.
I have like a strong sense of what I'm holding back, I guess.
So I think in that way, I say, yeah, I'm private because I don't share whatever.
Did you watch the David Dobrik breakup video with his girlfriend?
Yeah.
Because that to me, it felt fake to to me like they were being too nice to
each other during it oh bro yeah i mean they knew what they were doing that's what i mean i wanted
to be more like the movie closer where she's like i left you for someone and he's like oh
yeah i wanted to be like raw oh man yeah go ahead no that's it i just i just wanted some more viciousness in it i guess yeah that um
that shit was like i'm man they probably sold so much merch off of that
like i know when when that was over like when they were like
they like high five like we killed that shit, bro. Yeah. We daft each other. And I say all this and I've only met David once and he's like only,
he was only nice.
So,
you know,
I'm sure he's cool.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But nah,
man,
I mean,
yeah,
that,
I don't know.
That was crazy.
I think they knew what they were doing.
Yeah.
And they're kind of like,
they're like,
I just love you so much.
And she's like,
I love you.
And we met her.
She hosted like a Quibi dance show. Yeah. I had no idea. Yeah. I didn't know. She was awesome. Yeah're like, I just love you so much. And she's like, I love you. And we met her. She hosted like a Quibi dance show.
Yeah, I had no idea.
Yeah, I didn't know.
And she was awesome.
Like really, really cool person.
And super good at her job.
I think that kind of goes to what you were saying earlier.
Like when the audience knows the person.
I think there's almost, I think you can see it, especially on the internet.
Some people are comfortable almost like lying or like they know what they can get away with.
That's a shitty thing to accuse people of and I don't want to say whatever.
But I feel that some people toe the line of, oh, well, they care about me.
So maybe I can – it's not like they dial stuff up or –
I totally know what you're saying.
and you know like there's only they dial stuff up or i totally know what you're saying with it well they'll say something that like happened to that where it's like
uh a lot of time they're just sort of just like you know trying they're sort of like
they're pulling sympathy from people maybe a little bit yeah like they're trying to evoke
something that maybe wasn't there yeah i think the the micro version of that is like
white girls on tiktok with glasses like in a Walmart parking lot.
Like, you know, tapping their phone being like, so this guy, sis, tries to flirt with me.
And it's like, no, this story is not that.
It's very regular.
It's very mundane.
But they know their fans will eat it up and it's going to get like a million likes.
So they're just on that bitch.
Like, well, there's sort of like the, uh, the, uh, I call it like the, like the victim mentality of like social media these days where it's sort of like, this might sound like conservative or whatever, but it's like, it's like, look at my, look at how I'm a victim.
Does that make
sense i said yeah for sure does it sound no it doesn't sound bad you're right oh i don't know
i know people who are like i've worked with people who are like the meanest assholes like the meanest
people yeah like just vicious to everyone in the office you just jump just yeah jammed under there
and then when they're on social media they're like the most magnous. They're posting about like all the hardships they've been through.
And they're very good at it.
But if you actually spend time with this person, they're really not nice.
And they're kind of hard to be around.
I almost feel that there's so much, and cut me off whenever because I talk way too much.
No, go ahead.
I feel like with the internet, it's so common to borrow from other people.
You know, like the most obvious and egregious example of that is like, you know, kids in the suburbs, you know, gangster rap.
And they're like, I want to look and, you know, I want to be like that and whatever.
But I feel like now there's almost like this weird blurring of someone goes through something really traumatic.
And it's almost like it's this thing that you're talking about where people like want to relate to that in some way.
Or they see that people, you know, offer some kind of affection and maybe they sort of, you know, want to bar.
It's just like it gets muddy real quick and and i think there's so
much of that now on social media where you know there's like there's people who actually go through
shit and then people who want to seem like they've gone through shit because they think that's what
they need to be to maybe be respected or interesting or to be interesting yeah and it's like they don't
realize like no you're just interesting if you start by saying like, so I'm pretty fucking boring.
It's like, Oh, that's a kind of romanticize like the trauma experience.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like I, I recently started going to therapy and, and dude, nice.
How's that going?
It's dope.
And, and, but I, I realized how so much of that stuff used to in ways that people would
not pick up, but like would carry through like maybe my writing and my joke telling
and stuff and, and, uh, or, or the way i looked at the world and you know i look at that stuff now and i
look at that material and i think fuck man i'm so glad no one would figure out like that was the
issue and i'd never want to go back to that place that's like a dark place and i think people who
um maybe haven't experienced real tough shit,
they don't fully understand.
You would never talk about it in a romanticized way.
It's fucking awful.
It's too hard to talk about.
Yeah, or, you know, I think even rappers,
when they talk about stuff they went through,
I think people misconstrue that there's real fucking pain there.
I was listening to some
song recently and there's like these these two dudes rapping and uh they're going back and forth
trading lines and the lines out of context seem so like they seem comedic because they're so
brutally honest that these are not rap lyrics like they're like they're documenting what
happened to them as kids it's like i was only 13 when the house got raided and like if you hear that line
and you step back you're like oh dude like that's fucked up like are you okay
and someone would hear that and be like fuck that is so dope yeah and that guy
is just like he went through it and he even he's so young he doesn't realize
like that's that's something you feel and that's why you're saying it on the
song was like fuck dude like you should get help for that like that's something you feel and that's why you're saying it on the song was like fuck dude
like you should get help for that like that's like gonna stain you forever that's like 50 cent
when he's like i lost my virginity at 12 to like a 30 year old woman but it's okay i was ready
yeah and you kind of believe it because he's 50 cent but at the same time you're like
wait like that's not should we all yeah yeah yeah yeah like fifth are you all right yeah and it
sounds cool to you know if you alright man yeah and it sounds cool
to you know
if you don't think about it
but then you think about it
you're like
maybe that was traumatic
yeah
like maybe
he can't trust women now
because of something like that
or something
yeah
probably seems fine
sorry I'm not trying to
have a bad habit of
it made me think
because I think I've had
trauma in my life
but it's something
but because my life was good
yeah
in a lot of ways,
you know,
like super financially secure and grew up in a nice place.
I don't even,
sometimes I have trouble just even admitting to myself.
That was a big part of therapy for me.
It was like just acknowledging that it was okay to feel sad about that stuff.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I think like,
that's another thing people get fucked up is I think they think trauma has to
be this really dark,
like,
you know,
it was something deep. Like, yeah, you were like assaulted as a child or something it's like sometimes it's not that
heavy like sometimes it's just like your dad is like a weird tick and he just puts it onto you
and it makes you an asshole and you don't realize it you know yeah um i was in therapy for like
two months yeah and i i had that thing of like i i felt uh guilty for like feeling bad or
yeah or people would be like like this like you know this this guy's the problem or like you know
it's like this this family member is like to be like no no no like they've all been everyone's
been great to me like yeah and and that's been true you know that's like
true for the you know definitely for the most part but it's like uh there was like a guilt
factor that like i think you were kind of talking about where it's like it's hard to acknowledge
some things because maybe for me because i'm so like i don't want to put that on other people
maybe yeah what it is but it's like, I'm like, no, no,
my life's awesome.
Everything's awesome.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And it's like hard to admit certain things and,
and you just feel bad for maybe cause you like love,
you know,
it's like your family or something.
Yeah.
You just don't want to admit that they've done something.
No,
that's super real.
When I think,
I think for me too,
it's like,
I'm like,
well,
that would only fuck up like a pussy.
Like you'd have to be a pussy for something like that to fuck you up.
And then I have to sit there and just be like,
well,
in this way,
you are a pussy.
Doesn't mean you're a pussy all the time.
Doesn't mean you're a pussy all the way through.
But in this one way,
that's just who you are.
And that fucked you up.
And that's okay.
Yeah.
You pussy.
I just imagine my brother just being like,
the fuck are you talking about?
Like,
yeah,
let's go cut down this tree.
My brother always makes me do manual labor.
Yeah.
It's a good way to work through feelings for sure.
Maybe that's what he's doing.
I don't know.
Yeah, that's why blue collar guys, they're either really chilled or like their wife is scared of them, I feel.
Like it's like one or the other.
It's never never you know because
yeah blue collar dudes they get through it they get that pain out yeah yeah they go hack some
shit down right and then they come home and they drink and they're like it's all right man yeah
there's more more than one way to do it yeah yeah or like yeah they have like they have too much
trauma and cutting the trees wasn't enough so they get home and their wife's like okay i put out the video games just just don't talk to him after seven yeah yeah okay
okay we just the noises it's gonna be loud again but what do you think what do you think's killing
that dude like if he could actually express to his wife what's killing him like would it just
would it be something small stakes or would it be some or is it heavy i almost feel like it'd be
something like i just don't think you really like me like that might be our wound i always feel that because i'm i was
you know i still am completely guilty of small shit just like you know that's what the funniest
part is like after you go to your first therapy session and you watch inception you're like oh
this is just yeah oh this is just like mad at his dad like that's all you know like he's yeah like like
when they when he gets that's every steven spielberg movie yeah yeah like when he gets
the pinwheel and he's crying and he wakes up on the plane it's like oh yeah that's all of us like
i had like a couple nights ago my my girlfriend i had a great night together we're only a couple
months into our relationship and i told chad about this i walk her to her car to say later
and i just go hey be good and then she be good. And she just started laughing at me.
And I was like, yeah, be good. And then she was like, that's such a dad thing to say
for two days afterwards. I was mad at her. She finally was like, Hey, is something up?
And I was like, yeah, it kind of hurt my feelings. I said, be good. It was good communication. No,
it was good. But it was another one of those moments where i'm like hey look like i'm a huge pussy but that really fucked me up
and to her credit she's such a good person she was like hey i hear you i feel really bad that
i did that yeah that's okay and the fact that she could accept me when i was talking like that was
like a big thing for me but like afterwards i was like who the fuck cares dude but that is so
funny man that's like that ended up cares dude but that is so funny man
that's like that ended up it's see that's a great 90s movie right there that's the opening scene
right there be good be good that is such a dad thing to say then she fucking peels off and you're
like the fuck well and my dad does say that i was like yeah my dad does say that. I was like, yeah, my dad does say that. He's a great man.
He's a great man full of wisdom.
He's looking out for people.
God damn, man. That's hilarious.
No, but yeah, I think that can fuck up a blue collar guy easy.
I think that's what it is with a lot of those blue collars.
I've seen blue collar dudes argue sometimes.
And after a couple minutes, you're like, dude, these guys are crazy.
Yeah, yeah.
I saw one brother do another brother.
He had an idea for a booze company.
He's like, I want to do individual shots. And then his brother was like this is the dumbest fucking idea i've ever like when you tear down someone's idea like their creativity
it's the dumbest fucking idea i ever heard he's like he's like first of all like binge drinking
then what he came up with all these like logic reasons why it wouldn't work and then his brother
just took a beat and looked at me he's like i hope one day you have an idea and i can hurt you as bad
as you just hurt me these guys are tough dudes they fight they're hunters and shit but i swear that was like the
root of their division was just not supporting each other's ideas and shit isn't that weird like
how creative shit just weirdly turns into like a marketing pitch yeah like and no one asked for it
i always felt that like with a stand-up bit you're like you have this like invisible fucking board
You're like this is the premise your friends like I didn't pay for this man
Subjugate people to it. Yeah, like these are the tags
Yeah, when someone's like I have an idea
Just on my face
Just blow a load on me dude instead of that unless you're on your knees fucking like licking it up, being like, you're the
greatest creative genius ever.
It's like, you know, you're going to crush them.
Is that, is like with you and Cody, do you guys, I'm always curious about like how people
do that stuff.
Like, are you guys really supportive of each other's ideas?
Yeah.
I mean, it's like, um, there's never, you know, if we're ever like pitching, mentioning
an idea or something, we're, we're pretty like, like, yeah, you should do it.
Like there's, there's never like, eh, I wouldn i wouldn't you know we never put that in each other's minds like i think everything for
us is like yeah like free game like fucking do that how do you disagree if you don't mind me
asking um whenever like we work on i don't know like music or whatever we we have a pretty
logical way of approach i think
it's just from engineering like just because we used to work in software we approach everything
in that way and so we never have egos necessarily about our ideas like we'll kind of put something
up and it's open for like we almost hit it like uh like if you do that someone might perceive you
this way or or this and that.
It's like,
it's very sort of,
it's a lot of reasoning.
It's logic.
It's not like emotional.
No,
no,
no,
it's,
it's,
I've,
I've never shot something down or negated something or,
or wanted to modify something because I didn't like it.
It's just more like,
you know,
I think if you do that,
it might,
it might put this taste in people's mouth.
And it's like, are you going for that?
And other stuff, I think it's sometimes more the opposite where we personally get in our heads.
And then the other person has to be like, no, fuck that, man.
Just say that shit.
Like, no one cares.
Like, no one's thinking about it like that.
Like, you know, do that.
And this is for stuff you guys work on together or like ideas if like you're doing your own video.
I think like when we're doing like our own concepts, we we're pretty good about just like leaving room like for each other to like have that experience.
Like, you know, when Cody wants to work on a personal project, I never I don't, you know, because we do so much work together.
I don't want to add the additional like, you you know because it could be like super meaningful to him and i'm i'm not i'm not trying to be in there like his partner for his
personal project i'd rather him not have my voice in his head and he's just like he can go after it
and then see the results for himself i would because my thing is i never want to
like shoot him down like put something in his head that makes him completely change what he's
going after and then he fucking is not happy with what he ended up doing you know what i mean like
i would rather just you know if he comes to me and he's like hey i'm thinking about doing this like
i'll give my opinion but only if he asks me but you know i never want to get in the weeds on his
personal projects because i want him to have that and he respects that with me as well you know like
i wrote and produced a short and he was never going to be like,
well,
let me see a script.
Well,
like who's in it?
Like,
how are you doing it?
Where are you shooting it?
You're like,
you know,
he,
we both have that respect for each other where we know we want to do our own
things.
And like,
you know,
cause then in that way,
I think it starts to become our project.
And then it's like,
well,
you know,
then it's just, it's like, you, you know, then it's just like,
we might as well do this shit together.
Because I think we naturally have this back and forth relationship.
So I think it's impossible for us not to dissect something
as soon as we bring it up.
Like, I'll laugh sometimes when we fucking just message each other,
like, shit, like, oh, did you see the Jake Paul fight?
It just starts turning into a podcast right and like without fucking anyone asking for it to be that
way and like we're just you know so i think it's also hard for us to discuss shit with each other
without it turning into you know a project i guess yeah why did you guys link up or like um
you want me let me read this real quick.
Guys, this is wine in this coffee mug, too.
How are you doing on time?
No, yeah, I'm just making sure.
Oh, yeah, we can skip to the next part, too.
Yeah, yeah, no, let's hit it.
I know my girl is making food.
Oh, nice. What's she making?
Steak and potatoes, man.
Oh, nice.
Classy.
That fires me up.
Anyway, yeah, sorry. I don nice. Classy. That fires me up. Yeah.
Anyway, yeah.
Sorry.
I don't know if that was a good answer.
No, it was great.
No, it was great.
I'm super interested.
But, oh, yeah.
How did you guys eventually think of it?
Yeah.
So, Cody, weirdly, like, we knew each other through Vine.
Mm-hmm.
Cody, weirdly, like, we knew each other through Vine.
And we had recently just kind of come into contact through Vine. And then I went to work for Fullscreen.
Are you familiar with them?
Maybe not.
Yeah.
Yeah, I worked for them as, like, a web developer type role.
And then he got hired as an iOS developer.
And he, first first day sits on the
other side of my desk and then so from there he just kind of walked in I was
like what up and he's like what the fuck he's like you work here I was like yeah
and so off that like we kind of clicked just because in the realm of comedy
you're not gonna meet many software devs yeah so yeah from there we just kind of clicked just because in the realm of comedy, you're not going to meet many software devs.
Yeah.
So,
um,
yeah,
from there we just kind of like traded ideas and start working together.
And then we,
he started vlogging and then I would help him with that.
And then he kind of,
you know,
then I had introduced him to like H3H3 and then that whole like reaction format and then
he's like oh it's kind of interesting and then we had come across some weird video some like
blowjob robot and he was like dude we should just like try a reaction video to this and then like
that it was just sort of like uh let's try this let's try that and then it just evolved into where
the fuck we're at now just crazy to think nice do you feel a lot of pressure to to continue sort
of adapting to like new trends like new platforms um or do you are you kind of like uh you know we
have our thing and we're just gonna keep pushing at it yeah i think we're pretty good about sticking
to like we know what we're good at you know and i think a key part of what we've always done is just don't try to us being on tiktok
like it better be a fucking good reason you know what i mean or it better be a very casual reason
yeah you know we we better not be on there like you know we're doing it tomorrow yeah we're gonna
be trying to figure out how to be tiktokers tomorrow no but that's funny like that's you
guys fucking around but i mean it no but that's funny you Like, that's you guys fucking around. But I mean it. No, but that's funny. You know, like, that's very genuine.
And I think coming from you guys, it's hilarious because people know you're going to do it funny.
I think.
I made one tonight.
I'm trying to find the line.
I think people took it seriously.
You're trying to find your TikTok voice.
I'm trying to find my TikTok voice.
Absolutely.
Like, I don't know if you watch these.
You're hot, dude.
You can do it.
Oh, dude, thank you. I don't know if you watch these you're hot huge you can do it oh dude thank you i don't know if you watch you too um and you too um we can all do it um but i don't know if
you watch like the big tiktokers like he's like 20 million dudes who like you're just like watching
them and you're like it's like they're they just do videos they like limp sync yeah but they're
not even really like hitting the words correctly and they're just like and you're like that could
see 20 billion yeah and you're like you're like all right let me get on there well i feel like
an old man but i'm like and i don't like this kind of thinking but i'm like these dudes need
to get their asses kicked oh yeah absolutely i never want to be the guy who's, like, accusing people of, like, yeah, I don't know.
It's just not, I'm not into that kind of ribbing.
But I'm like, every time I see them, I'm like, dude, these dudes need to get fucked up.
Yeah.
Not, like, permanently, but just, like, at least bullied a little bit.
Yeah.
That'd be a great TikTok.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Me just driving around.
I'm sure some of them will whoop my ass, but I'm not scared watching their videos.
You should just, you know, you should steal half their TikTok and like halfway through
the dance, it should just hard cut to you being like, this kid needs his fucking ass
beat.
I bet you that goes 20 bajillion likes.
Yeah.
And then he comes over to my house and he's like fluent in Muay Thai and I'm catching
knees and elbows all over the place.
Bro, I just have to quote this real quick.
One of my old managers when I worked at T-mobile he was like um he's like a
blue belt and and jujitsu and he i remember talking about a street fight and he said dude
uh the last like one of the last street fights or something he had got into was this guy was like
drunk in a bar and they were both pissing in a bathroom. The guy's getting into it with them,
and they're in this small bathroom,
and they're fucking pushing each other.
Then it starts to get into a real fight.
So my boss, he puts them on the ground,
and they're fucking grappling on pissy bathroom floor.
Love it.
He's like, dude, I'm on top,
and I feel this guy hip escaping.
He's like, we're full on grappling in a fucking bathroom.
And he's like, oh, this is like, this is like modern day.
You know, people train this shit.
I'm not some special guy, you know, on the block.
And it's like, it's so true.
Like I feel now more than ever you get in a fight with some young kid and he's like,
cool, man.
I go to the UFC gym and you're like, oh, you're actually going to beat my ass.
This is fucked.
I always think like, uh, if, if i was ever in an altercation or something
i would try to get to the bar but hey do you do like athletic stuff like play d3 baseball i was
like okay yeah do you fight now he's like no i just do commercial lending okay yeah okay so you're
like kind of a regular guy i can handle this yeah i'm like you won't hurt me too bad yeah
um do you want to answer some questions from listeners?
Yeah, definitely.
Let's do it.
I got to pee real quick.
Hit it.
Sorry, am I running longer than most people?
No, we go long.
Okay, word.
We're like, you know, we follow that Joe Rogan model.
Hell yeah.
All right, well, let's get into some questions.
Hell yeah.
Your Excellencies, Chad and JT, title of this one is, Is She for the Streets?
This is a little long.
I come to you both seeking counsel.
Before lockdown, I met this girl at a party, and the two of us clicked pretty well.
Next thing you know, quarantine strikes, and I was teased with only two previous hangouts,
never ever leaving my house.
I became pretty close with this girl.
We FaceTimed almost every night, and I could feel an emotional connection.
After we were able to go out, we saw each other at small group gatherings, but I could
never make a move.
When summer rolled around, I left to stay in San Diego until late August.
Me realizing I messed up, I tried to keep up FaceTimes.
I was surprised to find out that we got even closer, and I fell even harder.
That whole summer, I thought about coming home and starting something between me and this girl.
I was even getting the thumbs up from her best friend when asking if I should ask her out when I got back home.
However, as soon as summer ended, it got weird.
The red flag came whenever I asked her to hang out. We'd still see each other at parties and she would always
cuddle up on me. But when asking to hang alone, something was always on her schedule. I dismissed
this though, because she had only, she had some personal stuff going on at home and never wanted
to go out was consistent with all of her friends. Well, October comes around along and from a side
comment by the girl's best friend, I find out that she had in fact been hooking up with a san francisco kid since summer i live in la by the way this is not the
first time she has let on a dude and then screwed him over i guess i got fooled because she never
changed up her behavior and maintained uh and remained to be flirty even after coming back
from sf each weekend i never confronted her about any of this but instead only slightly
distanced myself recently her friends have reached out saying she wants to hang again Oh, nice.
Do 100 push-ups, man.
Forget about her.
Oh, I like that.
Nice, dude.
Yeah.
Nah, bro. It's over over for you unless you unless you know
you want to get used if you're into that you know go for it but it's all right i i'm sorry
was i supposed to jump in there i've no no yeah uh you gets to my honor yeah you first of course i um not totally agree
i like that do 100 push-ups yeah uh let it fuel your fire you know you can you can uh i i had
something like this happen to me in college and uh what'd you do um i cried yeah did you really
i cried to my mom nice and that's not still think about her. She still motivates me.
Hey, I'm big on Twitch.
I do this a lot.
Tasteful toxicity is what I like to promote.
So you want to be tastefully toxic.
That T squared.
Fuck her best friend.
Oh.
Wait, how is that tastefully toxic?
It's not tasteful at all, but, you no it's it's it's effective yeah if you want if you want to be in the ring with her
yeah i think that's a way to to get around on her for sure yeah yeah no that'll that'll and you know
honestly with the way she's working using you to feel attractive so she can hook up with this other
dude and not put her insecurities on him i I mean, it might actually activate her to be more into you.
Yeah.
Little dueling lovers thing.
Yeah, yeah.
And you don't even have to bang her best friend.
Like, you could just flirt and just be a little too much with her best friend, you know?
Just get that Kristen Cavalieri from Laguna Beach in you.
Yeah.
Go to Cabo and then just sort of like matt
tell her i love you to her best yeah just mouth it yeah or you know you just look at her you're
like god damn because you know the best friend's sick of her antics too yeah so then you're kind
of hooking up at her yeah you're both doing it as a way to kind of like be like hey we're tired
of your yeah just your main character bullshit just say some slick shit to her go to her best
friend while you're all at a party and be like why do you hang with her you're too you're way too good for her she's like i'm
fucking shut up you're like no i'm serious all these hot guys pay attention to her why look at
you fucking stupid but if you want to just keep it individual i just get ripped yeah yeah yeah
keep it solo do your 100 push-ups. Get fucking hot.
Get hot and then look like the dude she's hooking up with currently.
And then say no.
Yeah.
Yeah, just get hot.
Channel that hotness into some extra productivity at work.
Everyone wants to promote the hot guy.
And then...
Dude, that reminds me.
When that happened to me in college, I actually had a quarter uh i wait on the quarter says i had a quarter abroad hell yeah
in uh australia nice and i went to australia gold coast got super tan yeah just with the doctor
lifted a ton of weights but then i came back and i realized me lifting weights is not the best look
but i did i really how i just get thick it's true he gets too bulky i get too bulky it's
still okay yeah nice you know i care
i care no no yeah because i came back my brother that's like some real best friend shit right there
that right there like he gets too thick when you look you look you look great oh thank you but when
i when i do i just i there's no definition it's oh you're just like thick thick got it and you
have such a nice toned physique oh dude thank dude, thank you. You're kind of inhabiting your ideal physique, I think.
I appreciate.
So, yeah, but I learned that.
But I did crank out weights.
I felt good.
And I came back and I was like, what up?
Yeah.
And she still wasn't down.
But it let that fuel me in later parts of my life.
Yeah.
And it hurts to be like, you know, kind of used by somebody.
I mean, I'm not saying she was using you, but, you know, she was. She was. in later parts of my life. And it hurts to be kind of used by somebody.
I'm not saying she was using you,
but she was.
She was.
You were serving a smaller function in her life
than she was serving in your life.
And that can be a hard thing.
You're FaceTiming every night.
I know you're saying some fucking,
you're saying some boyfriend shit.
Right.
And that's not the kind of person
you want to be with anyways.
Nah.
She's not your person.
Nah. But so you find your ideal want to be with anyways. Nah. Nah. She's not your person. Nah.
But so you find your ideal physique and go from there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And buy all the same shirts and hats as the guy she's hooking up with currently.
Dude, yeah.
Yeah.
Make her so down the line that she's like, fuck.
And maybe become friends with the guy, too.
Yes.
Because oftentimes, i'll think
about all the guys that my girlfriend could be hooking up with instead of me and i'll get kind
of like fearful no but then i'll get to know guys like like like that like tall brawny guys and
they're all full of insecurities too so sometimes get to know your enemy and you realize you guys
actually have a lot in common yeah yeah it is great getting to be boys with the guy you're like
they like see you hanging out together you You're like, yeah, Brian?
He's awesome.
Yeah.
What do you want?
Dude.
And you're like, yeah, Brian told me how he...
And then Brian will reveal to you
his limitations and insecurities.
He's like, you know, I actually don't have sex
as hard as I wish I could have sex.
I actually feel like she has a lot of expectations for me
because I'm so big.
But really, I like kind of like soft, gentle sex.
And you're like, I heard Brian's not into getting rough with you.
Yeah.
And then you're super... Then you yeah and then you take advantage of his vulnerability with you yeah and then you're sitting there you're telling her like you know brian feels how i look on the inside
who would have thought yeah yeah you can just poison the whole thing yeah i love it if you
got the sweat equity to put into it.
Toxic friendships.
What up, Stoke Lords?
I'll just jump into it.
I have always naturally been attracted to abusive friendships.
Throughout high school, I was the bitch in my friend group.
I was the butt of every joke and simply didn't get any respect.
This became my default position as it naturally carried over into my college years.
I was willing to put up with shit just to feel included. These kind of relationships were all I knew. Damn. I often end up ghosting them simply because I didn't like the way they treated me. I am now conflicted because I am very lonely and sad,
feeling like I wasted my developmental years with people who were actively destroying my self-confidence.
Feeling alone sucks, but it honestly doesn't feel much worse than being around my old toxic friends.
So now what?
Should I even bother giving my old friends a second chance?
How do I come to terms with the fact that all my old friends were abusive towards me?
How do I move forward and break the cycle of getting into future toxic relationships relationships what was it about me that put me in a position in the first
place what do you guys think thanks you act like a bitch i'm sorry that's my favorite thing to do
is wait for a long-winded you know i think he's actually being too hard on himself like the way
you're like oh is there something about me that makes me the bitch i think that's like
kind of a person who's been abused will often blame themselves i think you just got unlucky no i
think you i think you are a nice person and you let people who have their own issues like you
didn't you didn't understand that they made you their scapegoat like you didn't get that part
like you're just a genuine dude and when they're like fucking with you you're like oh man that's all right like you're just you're just a nice guy so i think i don't think
you should consider yourself a bitch i think if anything they should be paying you uh fees
because you endured all their bullshit and he was the glue he was yeah yeah yeah if it wasn't for
you all those insecure uh punks that they were,
they wouldn't have what they had.
They would have turned on each other.
Yeah.
We would have been a bloodbath.
Yeah.
So if anything, they were the bitches, man.
You was the cool guy because you rolled with it,
and you're now realizing you don't need that shit.
So good on you.
I say fuck it man if i think you're better off finding your way than going back to that you know what i mean like yeah you know what i mean like like yet you have
the chance to get away from that so get away from that man and and yeah it's almost like he's on a
new path of sobriety yeah sobriety from toxic relationships yeah and stay on stay on the path
i mean it's going to be uncomfortable and weird for a while but if you do stay on this path
i'm confident you will find those genuine friends and and and solid relationships that will help you
out i'm sorry i had more in life i'm sorry i started with the you acting like no no no
look i mean it's it's it's part of the conversation for sure.
It needs to be.
I feel bad, dude. I probably don't say it enough.
Yeah.
No, I mean, you know, listen, I'm a big proponent of 100 push-ups.
100 push-ups solve so much shit, dog, I think.
I think every time you feel like you're being a punk, do 100 push-ups and you will realize you're not a bitch at all.
Look how strong you are, bro.
Well,
yeah,
cause that's a good point.
Cause we feel like bitches,
but really what it is,
it's just action.
It's just what you're doing.
It's how you're reacting to things.
It's what you decided to do in the face of it.
Cause we all feel weak and not confident and sad and all those things.
But just like,
if you look at the end of your day and you look at what you did,
that's the way you kind of chalk up how you actually fall on that spectrum.
And if you come up short, you're not a bitch.
But we're just trying to have as many good days as we can.
Yeah, bro.
And you're going to go to that 10-year reunion.
You're going to pull up in a modest car that belies your incredible success.
Exactly.
In your professional life and in your personal life.
Your girlfriend's not going to be there yet.
She's going to show up an hour late because she was busy at a shoot.
She had some kind of shoot.
Yeah.
Yeah.
She comes in smoking hot, totally tastefully dressed, unless she wants to get freaky with
it, which you totally support.
And then you'll just be totally cool with everyone.
You'll be glad to see them.
And then at the end of the night, they'll be like, hey, let's keep hanging out.
And you say, yeah, yeah, yeah, maybe, maybe.
But you won't.
Yeah.
You won't.
Because you'll be on to newer and better things.
And you'll be meeting up with your crew the next day at Buffalo Wild Wings to watch football.
And the crazy part is you didn't even know it was your high school reunion.
You just got called by a friend to go eat there and you just happened to stroll in and you were just so
cool about it you're like oh yeah i didn't know you guys are doing oh man what up what the fuck
happened to your hairline dude damn it was so good to see you man you look great bro yeah sorry i can
afford that propiche i'm doing great yeah i got the air plug man. This is good right now, and you're wearing a dope suit
Yeah, just cuz just cuz and that's the best dress there
Yes, I'm by accident. Yeah, and I do you want to do and you're like no I'm on the limitless drug. I'm good
Pretty fully integrated my drug abuse into being my peak self
Dude, he should get an ice bath to just get a big freezer
Yeah, you're good, dude.
Yeah, no, you're fine.
Sorry you got unlucky with some shit bags.
You're going to do all right, bro.
All right, last one.
Hey, what's up, Stoke Lords?
My name is Jason.
So yeah, I've been working out super hard, and I've been going sleeveless ever since.
Super proud of the definition of my tries, and I like to show the world.
But here comes my problem.
I live in Michigan.
It's getting cold as fuck.
I've tried every which way, but it looks like I just can't pull off no sleeves all the time
during the winter here.
How do I win the love of my life, my huge crush, Rebecca, if I have to wear sleeves?
He's living where?
Michigan?
Michigan.
Michigan.
Dude, I would go with, you know, sometimes you want to leave more to the imagination.
Yeah.
So maybe you'd go with like a nice, super tight waffle shirt. You know what those are? to leave more to the imagination. Yeah. So maybe you go with like a nice super tight waffle shirt.
You know what those are?
Nah.
Oh, like the mesh.
Yeah.
Where you can see skin underneath.
No, you can't see skin.
But I actually like that idea, although that is still kind of cold.
Yeah.
Swinging from the rafters at a WeHo bar kind of vibe.
But it's like when you go skiing and you wear like a super,
you may just get like a tight turtleneck so you can see the definition,
but you don't get the full enchilada.
I like the waffle shirt, like what Neo would wear in The Matrix.
Yeah, yeah.
Some shit like that.
Yeah, do that.
I mean, like a mesh tee.
If you get a good O-neck, if you're built like that and you
have like a little bit of collarbone creeping out, you know, subtle trap, you're like, Jesus.
Yeah.
I also think going with the arms is kind of the obvious move.
Yeah.
You know, that's a very dude way of thinking about it.
It's like the big buys, the big tries, you know, the showpiece muscles.
I think if you really want to catch like a classy lady, one that you can really build
a life together, it's not
the arms, it's the legs. You go with short
shorts. Yeah. And you wear
long sleeve turtleneck up top and then
short shorts that are just showing off
your quads and your hammies. Yeah.
And she knows you've got that strong base, dude.
That base, that kind of rock that
she can build a church on. Yeah, baby holding
base. Yep. You know what I mean? And then
I think you want to go for bonus points.
You get some kind of wrist accessory
that cuts off just enough circulation.
Get a little bit of veinage in the dominant hand.
Ooh.
Love that.
Just subtle, you know?
Like, hey, did you need that condiment over here?
I got that for you.
Iron grip.
Yeah.
So now you got the quads and the grip.
She's like, Jesus. I'm seeing that hand. I'm just imagining it holding me by the back of the head with fingers
in my hand yeah yeah just running through my hair just controlling my cranium do you think
regardless of of your hog size too oh accentuate the bulge yeah yeah go for it even if it's a
small bulge like let her know you're like yeah it's you know this is my bulge yeah yeah go for it even if it's a small bulge like let her know you're like yeah it's you
know this is my bulge yeah let her know up top little silver back gorilla dick yeah you guys
train before us we were also on the small dick train no i love the t-shirts bro oh thank you so
good that was chad's design hell yeah genius man i need one of those. We'll get you one. Hell yeah. Yeah, bro.
I think, I mean, you know, coming from, you know, a career built on a Peter Pecker, go for it, man.
Don't be afraid.
I think what you want to show more than your arms is your stability, your humbleness.
You know, that stuff carries through in everything.
Let's go.
And then as she's discovering you,
she's going to like find the traps.
She's like,
Oh my,
you had tries as well.
You're like,
I never skipped tries,
baby.
She's like,
fuck.
And you had the modesty to hide that.
Yeah.
Like what would have been an adoring public.
Oh yeah.
That goes a long way.
Yeah.
It's like when you do something,
you save a life.
You don't tell anybody until a couple years later.
Yeah.
And she's like, you were the one giving CPR. cpr like yeah i saved that whole school bus of kids yeah that's cool i would uh i would uh just keep giving her surprises to underneath
you know like you're not wearing underwear you're wearing a jockstrap you know yeah you pull off
your pants you just got weird underwear yeah that's genius yeah
compression shorts yeah she's like there's so many there's so many layers to you and you're like
yeah you're like oh yeah yeah never give her what she's expecting yeah yeah that's what you get
michigan baby also if you got a tiny pecker do i think jujitsu is good for that yeah about like
top pressure and all that stuff so you can really maximize your depth just learning about like uh grappling leverage
yeah you know if you can uh get a little jits in even a month's worth you know that's all it takes
yeah just a little little bit of gi training you know i mean that's that's important in michigan
as it gets cold yeah if you can slip off off all four of her layers in a very clever way,
just from knowing how to undo the gi,
she's going to be like, this guy is something else.
In a classic English novel, Far From the Madding Crowd,
the kind of like Svengali seducer of our protagonist,
he gets her in the woods, he's like a drunk soldier,
and he chops off her entire dress with a saber.
And that's like him liberating her sexuality.
See?
Yeah, you should do that while she's about to hook up with another dude and be like,
see what I did for you.
And then leave.
Let her hook up with the other dude.
But she'll be thinking about you the whole time.
Yeah, you kiss her on the forehead and you say, be free.
She's going to be like.
Yeah.
And then the sleeveless guy is going to be sitting on the other end like well what's up
and she's like i can't go for this right go right to you and well yeah he's a proficient
sword play for sure yeah that's cool dude i want to be one of those guys like undercover
who's really good lightsaber choreographed yeah you know yeah and just show up at attorney and
just fucking wreck it dude yeah if any of you guys want to start doing that with me, we'll choreograph a lightsaber fight.
Love that.
Just show up to Attorney.
I'm down.
Down.
Dude, wouldn't that be sick?
Yeah.
That would be pretty hilarious, too.
If you just had the full Darth Maul.
You're like, yeah, is that Noelle?
Yeah.
You're just like, you put your hood up and you leave he was kind of dope that was crazy never talk about yeah yeah no did i see you at the lightsaber
nah man i was no i might have made an appearance yeah i think i passed through but i don't know
is that no well sorry no that seems like a good beat to end on yeah yeah hell yeah dude thank you
no thank you guys man this is truly um you know i'm i'm a fan i have no shame saying it bro oh
the fan of you as well oh thanks guys Yeah. Happy to come back. Dude, we should definitely have you back.
Yeah, I'm down.
For sure, yeah.
I was, like, stoked about the Lazy Manscaped read.
That's what I'm going to call lazy.
That's my favorite shit.
Thanks, man.
You should hear our ad reads.
We are terrible.
We can stop, but, yeah.
All right, let me get up out of here.
Yeah, thank you, dude.
Dude.
I'll just hit you with one of these.
Yeah.
I'm sorry
I know we've already been in tight space
I got tested on Saturday
I'm good
I'm with my dad a lot he's immunocompromised
so I just worry about getting it to him
we've been shooting so much stuff lately
I get tested frequently
awesome
thanks man i'm
good though all right nice um dude uh what was aaron aaron's a legend sorry he was sitting
there listening to us flirt for a fucking hour yeah hit me up dude yeah yeah we'll do man great
night man thank you so much what's that i fucking put up a tiktok and it's uh let me see let me see
no i don't want to show you i'm too embarrassed i think it feels it feels serious let me see
let me see no no i'll do it after this is funny to talk about on the pod though let me see all
right oh i was trying to be like one of those dudes that's a joke I understand where you're coming from.
Dude, I respect it.
It's brave.
You're a brave dude.
That's not easy to put out there.
Well, I'm trying to do like...
You're on your path, bro.
I'm trying to do it like parody.
Whatever it is, I like it. I think it feels too sincere.
That's okay, though.
That's a good starting place.
Look, I like it.
I like that you're doing it. I like that you're doing it.
I like that you're taking chances.
Other people are sitting on their heels.
You're out there in the world.
You're banging it out.
Dude, I mean, how hilarious would it be if our TikTok just blew up from us doing that shit?
Well, I signed up for TikTok because my dad texted me the other day.
I'll read the text message from my dad.
Aaron, dig this, dude.
This is my dad, career advisor.
One of the least tech-savvy people in the world.
Got this one at 7 a.m. on a Saturday.
You and Chad need to get on TikTok.
Getting major detraction and direct competition to Instagram.
This should be done ASAP.
I signed up a day later.
Look, I listened.
Dude, that's cool. I'm glad you're're on there i'm excited to shoot this thing tomorrow
i think we can make some super funny ones i think so too because there's where the guys
like in bed you know and he's just like not gonna lie i miss her and it's just him just
doing and you're just like what the fuck i do that stuff daily anyways i just don't put it
on tiktok i've recorded my face singing songs all the time and I just don't post it because I know it's hugely
unlikable. But
I do it daily. I walk around
my apartment every day
rapping to music. Pretending I'm looking
at a camera and pretending like I'm the lead
performer in a music video. That's cool. So I've been waiting
to get deputized into something like this. Yeah.
We'll figure it out. For sure.
Dude, look, you can't
hate the platforms that are popular you
can only adapt to what is no we're tiktok guys now we're tiktokers we're tiktokers guys we got
news we're on tiktok now and we're looking to really take it over so for all you lip-syncing
smooth hip shaking fellas out there we're coming for Super hard. We're about to go deep on you.
Yeah.
All respect to what you do.
All you hot 18-year-olds, you better watch out.
Daddy's home.
Daddy's home.
Daddy's home.
About to do some fucking nice TikTok to some Tom Petty music.
I'm about to pull my dong out and lay it down on the table.
About to show you how to lip sync to some, you know, John Hyatt.
About to show you how to be shy on cam because you miss her.
I miss you, babe.
Here, let me TikTok right here.
Can you put this camera on me, Aaron?
Tom Petty?
You're all I ever wanted.
Yeah. Tom Petty? You're all I ever wanted Yeah So tell me what to do now
When I want you back
I don't know if that's gonna work.
I was lip syncing NSYNC, I Want You Bad.
Aaron, can I try it?
You're all I ever wanted Yeah Can I try it?
That was good. That was really good. You're natural, bro. Keep going. Keep going. You're all I ever need.
Yeah.
So tell me what to do now.
Cuz I want...
I can't...
Yeah, let me try. Let me try again. Let me try again.
You're all I ever wanted to do what to do when I wanted you back.
Dude, that was passionate.
That was passionate.
That's 20 million followers right there.
You're all I ever wanted.
Yeah.
You're all I ever needed.
Yeah.
So tell me what to do now.
Because I want you back
you're all I ever wanted.
Yeah, because here's the thing.
This is what TikTok got to the root of.
We all want to be the lead singer of a boy band deep down.
That's right.
That is the thing.
That's right.
But some of these guys, it's not even,
the reason I think they need to get their ass kicked
isn't because they're pretending to be in a boy band.
It's because they're not pretending hard enough
to be in a boy band.
Right.
They're half-assing it.
They're leaning on their cuteness.
They don't have a routine.
They don't have good facial expressions. They don't have a routine. They don't have, like,
good facial expressions.
They don't know the lyrics.
If you're gonna do it,
commit to it.
Dude, should...
Yeah, you just got me fired up.
Should we actually commit to it
and, like, do the fucking dance?
Yeah, we should do it for real.
I'm not gonna fucking TikTok
like some pussy
and, like, barely do
the fucking dance.
Yeah.
If I TikTok,
I'm leaving a fucking
pound of blood on the floor.
Dude, I'm about to show the world my bulge yes yes we're the dude i came to tiktok from activists to boy
band let's go to tiktok stars and we'll find activism within the tiktoking as well
after i hit that boy band you know verse and that dance expression
then i'm gonna hit him with a little bit of protect the motherfucking environment
after that oh dude sorry i didn't mean to get ballistic on you there aaron can you
can you all i ever wanted yeah we're horny yeah it's a horny tiktok
dude this is you're all i ever no one's doing that on tiktok yeah no one's got that energy
oh dude we gotta hump hard on yeah we're gonna hump like we mean it yeah we're gonna hump like
we haven't humped in a while all this safe sexuality these t boys are doing? Yeah. They haven't been in the gutter.
Can you believe that the inspiration to our TikTok careers is being recorded?
How often do you see that?
This is the genesis of the moment.
How often do you hear that?
You don't hear Dave Chappelle and Neil Brennan saying we should make a sketch show?
You're not in the West Village in 1960 when it suddenly springs in Bob Dylan's mind,
Bob Zimmerman at the time, that I got to take folk music in a new direction.
You're not there in 64 when he says, okay, I got to go electric.
You are here today when we decided that TikTok needs a little more raw.
Needs a little more raw and uncut.
It needs a little more raw and uncut energy. It needs a little daddy. It needs a little more raw and uncut. It needs a little more raw and uncut energy.
It needs a little daddy.
It needs a little age.
These 17 year olds
have had their run.
Yeah.
It's time for you guys
to get some of your
vinaigrette.
Just spraying
Paul Newman
fucking
almost said salsa
salad dressing
all over you.
Aaron are you going to
do a dance with us?
Aaron you're in. I am not. are you gonna do a dance with us aaron you're in
i am not aaron you should do the new dad dance when when uh when you're on paternity leave and
you're just like no maybe i know i like it i like it how does a dad dance i don't know
yeah something like that i think there's a hand clap at some point. Maybe you're carrying the baby.
Or you could go like this, like you have the Bjorn.
I like that.
Yeah, can we strap the baby to you so you can be a little more free with your hands?
I think that could work, yeah.
Okay.
Okay.
Well, now we're talking.
Because Noel, he's making me think like a director now.
And now I'm thinking about visuals and dynamism.
And I want you to have your hands
Aaron I want the baby on your chest with his face facing the camera we start on a close-up
of the two then we zoom out and then you're dancing like a boy band freak
all right should we get into it yeah should we keep pushing
Chad what's your beef of the week my beef of the week is when people try to tell us how to say
pokey um i know it's poke i know but i think and this is i'm not saying this beef because of
amenable that's gonna be my beef okay and that i literally wrote this down before that
whole exchange cool so just to clarify this is not me like subconsciously being
working out something yeah i feel you yeah i get it yeah i just you know you know people are like
it's poke it's poke it's poke and i'm like i know it's poke i know you know i love pokey i love poke
more than you could ever imagine i you know nothing boosts my stoke more
and i totally get that you think i don't know how to pronounce it but i do know how to pronounce it
but i'm personalizing it to me you know i call it pokey jt calls it pokey for us pokey is a state
of mind you know i don't really know what i'm trying to say here but you know it's like i
just want to let the world know i know it's poke but i like calling it pokey
one of the saddest days of my life was when i let some of my boys bully me out of saying
salman i used to call salmon salman and then strider actually when he was a darker man a
younger man before he found this path of of pure stoke, when he was a darker man, a younger man, before he found this
path of pure stoke and enlightenment, he was like, dude, you're not unique. You're not original.
Stop saying Salmon. Strider said that. And I let it, and I let it, and I didn't show him in the
moment, but he got me. Strider said that? Strider said that. Like that? Yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. He
brought it to me hard. Whoa. He went deep and and he cut it out of me. He cut out.
But now, in retrospect, he wishes I still.
He's like, dude, you know, I kind of miss when you said salmon.
Yeah.
So there it is.
Yeah.
Pokey, pokey.
It's how it pokes your heartstrings.
Yeah.
It's how it pokes your taste buds.
And for me, when I eat pokey, I say pokey.
Yeah, so that's my beef
I love the way you went up at the end that's great
Aaron what's your beef of the week
my beef of the week is with my back
just went out on me
picking up Christmas decorations
this weekend
and I've been in pain ever since
Nick George
our friend and teacher in ways of the body he he'll say this, and I don't want to be annoying like coach and on movement,
but the mistake adults make is that when we bend down, we'll bend over to pick up stuff.
And you should move like a child does.
A child, when he picks something up, will crouch down to grab it.
I generally do that because I'm very aware of it and I don't want it to go out.
But it was in a precarious position
so I just kind of had to do it.
Dude, it's the worst.
When you've got to reach past
the midline with your arm
and you know that shoulder's vulnerable,
sometimes life just gets you there.
Yeah, and I also want to
co-beef with NSAIDs.
Like, hey, can you relieve pain
and not ruin my stomach?
That'd be cool.
You know?
Here you go.
Like Advil and stuff.
Yeah.
There's no free lunch,
but, like, do we have to pay that much?
Yeah, you know?
Does the tab have to be that heavy?
My Beef of the Week is with myself.
Chad and I were doing a Zoom,
going over some creative ideas,
and he's been using a new word in his lexicon, amenable.
And I'm psyched on my dog,
always curious, always expanding his vocab.
And in my rigid mind,
I thought there was only one way to say it.
And I came in hot with the correction.
I said, it's amenable.
And then Chad fired back with a fuck you.
Which I totally understood.
And I was like, bro, I'm just looking out for you.
And then he was like, no, it's all good.
You were like, I always want to be sharper with it.
Always.
Chad is a beast.
He always takes all commentary in stride to just be the most dank chat he can be.
And then I told my girlfriend the story and then she dictionary.com did.
Turns out you can say amenable.
And that's actually the way that dictionary.com
says it oh really yeah so i was saying amenable and coming in all arrogant about it and it turns
out i wasn't even right you can say amenable are amenable so i should have been more amenable
to how you were saying amenable well i appreciate i preach the correction i preach the beef i i wrote you an apology saying sorry
yeah no and there's no i can't i can't think of many people who would uh do that so i was like
wow jt's a he's a different kind of dude sorry yeah no but it didn't warrant an apology like
but i appreciate it well i mean especially if i'm wrong i had to apologize
yeah i was just like i was like wow he looked it up afterwards no i didn't look it up oh right
right because i was like i thought i was like oh wow he looked he felt bad that he looked he felt
he felt bad i did that's why i brought it up to her i was like i feel bad and then she was like
let's check it out and then it was amenable and. And I was like, well, now I feel dumb. Yeah, no, it's all good.
Yeah.
I appreciate corrections.
I respect that a lot about you.
Yeah.
It's a beast mentality.
Who's your babe of the week?
My babe of the week is getting a clean bill of health from the doctor.
I went to the dermatologist, you know, because I'm out in the sun a lot, I'm bronzing.
And to be frank, I wanted to get my hairline checked.
Nice, dude.
Because my hairline, and my brother's have this,
it goes back here, but it's always been that way.
But I'm like, I just want, you know,
but if you look at it from a certain profile,
it can be like, oh, it looks like it's receding. been that way but I'm like I just want you know but if you look at it from a certain profile it
can be like oh these it looks like it's receding so I'm like you know I know it's always been this
way but what if what if it is receding and the dermatologist I was like she's like so you're
here for your skin I'm like first my hair let's get to the important stuff and so she looks at
and she's like it's not thinning and I was like yes and then she looked at it and she's like, it's not thinning. And I was like, yes.
And then she looked at my skin.
She's like, looks like your skin is good to go.
And I was so fired up, you know, because I was dreading that point because they're like,
I just felt like they were going to be like, oh, you're out in the sun way too much.
You're screwed.
You're going to get skin cancer tomorrow.
And they're like, you look good.
And I was so fired up.
Like, I almost did a burnout.
Dude, my voice cracked.
I almost did a burnout out of the parking garage.
Thanks.
I almost did a burnout out of the parking garage.
And it's just, there really is no better high than a clean bill of health.
It's the best.
It's like, going to the doctor is so scary because you're just like, all these nerves and stuff. nerves and stuff you're like oh they're gonna tell me the worst shit i've ever heard in my life and then they're like you're fine and then they're like you're healthy when they say
you're healthy literally i there's i it's hard to find a better feeling than that i think
yeah that's awesome dude congrats um thanks man yeah so yeah it's my babe
happy you're healthy dog oh thanks man and what's your baby of the week who's your baby
my baby of the week is eating holidays oh we should have more of those yeah like we have
sure we have like cinco de mayo for mexican food maybe uh we have saint patrick's day for weird food
but we should have more like gather up and eat together holidays obviously during covet it's
a little bit unsafe uh and it's proven to be such uh and a weird thing this year but
uh generally speaking uh we should have some more holidays where we can just eat
i love that that's yeah dude i'm totally on board with that a pizza day
hell yeah yeah that could be easily applied to a variety of holidays yeah let's go um
all right this is a my baby of the week is Grayson.
Grayson P.
He's a listener of ours.
Nice.
And he messaged me in April and he said,
JT real talk.
I know it's been a while since I last DM you,
my man,
and I apologize for that.
I hope that you can forgive me,
but I'm coming at you with a predicament.
Here's the deal.
I need a girlfriend.
What are your thoughts?
And can you help me find one?
So I responded,
my dog,
why do you need a girlfriend?
He said, bro, I've been living it up in the single life for a while now without simping.
And I just think it's time to settle down a bit.
My college freshman year is over and I've been taking this quarantine as time to reflect.
I was listening to Nameless by Lil Keed and it just locked in my mindset that it's more likely time to find the one.
And I said, dude, I think you'll find one.
I think you'll find the one without much struggle.
And if it does get tough, try not to fret. Very trite advice, but I, but I don't know if there's much more to it.
Try and be busy. People are attracted to busy people. He said, dude, I'm hella busy with school and getting that grind in delivering pizzas. It's just finding your Tinder check, Bumble check.
Just none of them are hitting that niche. I just said, keep going. If your friends got girlfriends,
ask them for an assist. Um, and he said, dude, can you hit me
with an assist? I'm in Dallas, which is far, but you never know, homie. And I said, dude, I don't
think I can be of service. A lot of context there. Smash cut to this Saturday. JT, what up, dog?
Just wanted to give you a little update on the girlfriend situation I got going on. I listened
to your advice. I take some narcissistic pride in this.
And he goes, and here I am dating this amazing woman. I kept it simple, didn't fret and try to
keep busy. It happened to be one of my best friends. That was the perfect candidate for my
girlfriend. And here I am feeling happy and appreciated. I appreciate the advice given
many months ago. Peace out for now. P-Dawg. I love it. Beast. Nice.
That's awesome.
Chad, who's your legend of the week?
My legend of the week, dude, shout out to him, though.
That fires me up.
Right?
I love the Stokers, by the way. I have another legend, but first off, I was streaming with Kevin last night.
We played with some Stokers.
another legend but first off i was streaming with kevin last night we played with some stokers dude they're always like the smartest dudes and like like and ladies too and just like the cool
i mean in this instance we were playing with just guys because only guys volunteered we would have
happily played with ladies but they're all like yeah i'm in medical school and i'm not you know
and they're like you know yeah i'm studying law or just like
and even if it wasn't that they're just like very like awesome guys to chat with they're never like
like it's just always like it always like kind of blows my mind not blows my mind just always
very sort of like whenever i interact with stokers i'm kind of like oh i kind of look up to the
stokers you know what i mean totally like every time i talk to him i'm
like wow that guy's like way cooler than me it shocks me sometimes yeah yeah i'll do the instagram
lives and i'll bring people on and talk to him yeah i just be like the coolest fucking guy you've
ever met from like australia yeah yeah they're always so awesome so i just want to give a shout
out to the stokers i mean you guys are the best so grounded down to earth yeah versatile yeah hot good at war zone yes they fucking crush at war
zone very grateful it's cool just well spoken and just like it's just an honor to uh to have
these people in our lives so um and then on top of that greg norman's hog you know i gotta give
a shout out i don't know if you saw that photo the golfer yeah dude have you not seen
this photo he's got a big dick oh nice best photo shark they call him yeah the shark dude
okay so greg norman the golfer put up a photo of him walking with his dog and um
he used to fold on sundays in tournaments. That was kind of his reputation.
I guess carrying the weight of this beast.
What the piece?
Oh my God.
He's ripped too.
Yeah, so Greg Norman is walking on the beach in Jupiter Island with some swimming trunks on.
And he's got the biggest outline of his hog.
And it is just incredible.
It is one of the best hogs I've ever seen on the gram.
And you just look at it and he's just walking with his dog.
It's just the most...
If we were to have a photo to represent America to aliens, I would choose this photo.
photo of like to like represent america to like aliens i would choose this photo you know a ripped guy walking with his like golden retriever with a huge freaking dong i love all the comments just
everyone just saying dude you got a great big dick way to go dude my favorite my favorite comment was
the one he's like this guy goes nice hog player the surrounding posts have 40 comments, and then the one with his huge dick has 540.
Dude, I wanted to...
That's what a big dick does to us.
I wanted to comment on it, but you limited the comments.
Oh, really?
So you can't comment on it.
Because you know what that would have gotten like.
Oh.
Thousands of comments.
It would have been never ending.
thousands of comments um it would have been never ending but i because i just wanted to say like dude you inspired me with your you know gargantuan dink um so i just want to give a shout out to
greg norman i mean you're an inspiration to us all um i think you're an all-american dude
he's australian
still all-american you's an all-american dude um this is a country of
immigrants yeah no he's got a mammoth meat appendage he's got a fucking lord
byron dong he's got an epic epic poem, more like an epic piece.
He's got a katana.
You know, he's got...
Hattori Hanzo created that dong.
He was long off the tee and big with the woods,
but that's not the only place he's carrying a big shaft.
That's not the only place he's got a big shaft.
I mean, you can tell that bellend is just out of this world.
You know, it's not just the length. It's the thickness. It's the size. It's the shape. It's the only place he's got a big shaft. I mean, you can tell that bellend is just out of this world. You know, it's not just the length.
It's the thickness.
It's the size.
It's the shape.
It's the contours.
He's got a complete dick.
Checks a lot of boxes.
It's so big.
It's really big.
I'm a fan of his forever, too.
I love the hats he wears when he golfs.
Some of the comments.
He's a vulnerable big dick dude, because he's he's tanked it in
some majors napper leon goes pipe what is that i'm just looking at the comments this guy napper
leon goes pipe um and his wife is walking with a limp behind him. Wowzers.
Do you think he knew when he posted that that his dick looked so big in the photo?
I don't know, man. I don't think he knew, but I think he was happy when he saw the response.
Yeah.
The shark is rigged.
I'll just do one more.
No, keep going, dude. Um.
Because the caption is a man and his dog.
And the guy goes, more like a man and his hog.
Why is dog so funny, man? it's just the best thank god we have dicks not not as men but thank god we have dicks in this world so we can laugh at them as comedic
fodder yeah yeah they add a lot to our our lives yeah hard not to laugh at a big dick
they crack you up.
We keep them hitting all the time.
And then when you see one,
you're like,
it's funny.
I get why we cover it.
We don't want to spoil the joke all the time.
Aaron,
what's your dong of the week or legend of the week?
Uh,
my legend of the week is key and peel.
Oh,
no,
I've been rewatching it on a HBO max and it's,
it's still as funny as it was when I first saw it.
And,
and it's not dated at all.
I mean,
the only,
the only really dated stuff is the Obama stuff because it's just,
that was the time and that's who was president.
But like,
and he does the best.
I think he has the best Obama impression of anyone. Oh yeah yeah um but yeah it's just it's so it's just so hysterical and
there are obviously some sketches in there that are like still so relevant like culturally yeah
but um it's just amazing how it didn't age like in a negative way.
Yeah. I've been watching some sketches lately.
It's so good.
They're amazing.
Yeah.
Jordan Peele is like,
I don't know his,
his energy and his performance is so good.
Yeah.
Both of them are really good,
but I've always Jordan Peele.
Some so unique about the way he delivers his lines.
That's awesome.
Uh,
my legend of the week is Maggie Rogers recording artist.
Oh hell yeah.
Pop star. Um, you know, that's awesome uh my legend of the week is maggie rogers recording artist oh hell yeah pop star um
you know she had her breakthrough on that uh viral clip of pharrell uh pharrell williams listening to
her music in class and him just being blown away by how good it sounds and just it's a great clip
to watch because you get to literally see him just discover that he's sitting next to this like
budding genius and um yeah it seemed like she just came out fully formed with like this entire sound that
she knew how to execute and how to express herself through.
And I don't know, her music is so good because I really only knew her hit Alaska.
And now I've been going through all of her music and it's just like, it's, she doesn't
have a ton, but every song is a banger.
Love You For A Long Time, Dog Years years um leave the light on all just incredible
songs very distinct and yeah she's just a special special special talent and artist just uh i don't
know you can't even imagine her like being born from parents you're like i think some gods just
popped her out into a river and she just crept up on the sand and just like just grew up different and
unique to the rest of us and just developed into this artist that yeah i know it's hard to compare
she just came out of the waves out of the waves exactly i tried to do impersonation but she's like
i can't do that was good she's sui genesis yeah sui genesis i think that's how you say it i'm
being a little hyperbolic but i've
been digging her music a lot lately it's really really good and she's she's awesome um chat what's
your quote of the week um i realized i forgot to do one from kelly slater first surfer it's never never-ending there's always some wave you want to surf nice dude at all his
quote baby my my quote of the week is another Jimmy world lyric it's from a
song you were good off the album damage this is the chorus it's you were good
you were good and you were gone I and you were gone. I believed you all along.
Yeah, it's sad, but baby, here we are.
It was good, it was good, then it was gone.
Oh, nice.
My chord of the week is Pharrell from that aforementioned Maggie Rogers clip.
Hold on, I've got to find it.
So he basically says, I'll do an approximation.
Pharrell says, after he hears your music, he goes,
I have zero things to say about that.
I have zero things to say about that because it's singular.
He's like, it's like when Wu-Tang Clan came out.
You could either like it or not like it, but you couldn't judge it
because there was nothing to compare it to.
And he says her music is like that.
And he's like, and to do that, you have to take risk. And you have to be frank in her music is like that and he's like and to do that you have to
like take risk and you have to be frank in your music and in your choices and uh yeah i just think
that's a really uh accurate way of describing what uh interesting art is like and that's just
so cool to be something that like you can't even judge it because it's so wholly its own i feel
like the coen brothers are kind of like that you know i don't know hip-hop well enough to truly
judge it but i think like yeah wu-tang clan and then i don't know hip hop well enough to truly judge it, but I think like,
yeah,
Wu-Tang Clan
and then,
I don't know.
And Pharrell is nice.
He tries to be like
egalitarian about it
where he's like,
and we all have that in us.
I don't know if everyone
has that in them,
but I think it can come
from anywhere
to kind of echo
the sentiments of Ratatouille.
But,
yeah,
I think we should all
be seeking that for sure.
For sure.
Chad,
what's your phrase that we're forgetting after it?
Dude, your dick is showing in that photo.
Nice, dude.
That'll get bros hyped up, dude.
If someone said that at a party,
you'd go on zero to 100 quick.
That Tesla acceleration.
Into fucking Yahoo land to point out
Aaron

and i'm pretty hyped up on learning it it's a rip shit rip shit means to be enraged or otherwise
highly emotional i like that dude i'm about to go rip shit dude dude i'm feeling rip shit yeah
it's one of those nice words where it's like, it's kind of smart because it's obscure,
but then at the same time, it's like, you know,
highly, like, it's kind of ugly and relatable.
You know what I mean?
Because you kind of hear it and you know what it means.
Yeah.
Like, dude, I'm rip shit.
Even without hearing it, you know what that person means.
Yeah.
Yeah, I like that word.
That's good stuff.
All right.

do we have
Helix beer bongs coming out soon?
So keep an eye out for those.
Because Helix is the best in the biz, baby.
Helix beer bongs are, if you want to get the party started,
and I know we're in Corona and everyone's like, you know, it's weird times.
But I'm just talking about, you know, even if you're Q-teaming,
even if you're in the Q-team, if you want to get the party started
with just yourself and maybe like, you know
whoever's in your crib with you
pull out a helix
and suck it down
