Starting point is 00:00:00 A list-nuff production. Activate your internet. Cos the Hamish and the Podcast starts in 3, 2, sorry, still buffering. 1. A hoi-d be best made ham. A hoi-d be best made Andy. A hoi-d be best to Quayton's. Check out the low-i to be best made ham. A hoi to be very best made Andy. A hoi to be best to Quattons.
Starting point is 00:00:27 Check out our hello best to Quattons. Hello, hubby friend. Would you prefer to be the best to Quattons or just a regular friend? Yeah. Probably regular friend. You'd rather be bottom of an honorable out of the top of the fake one. So worst friend. Is that, that's what I mean?
Starting point is 00:00:44 Like least, least interesting. So worst friend, is that, that's what I mean, like least, least interesting. So basically, we would be preparing in mind, it's sort of like, it's like being nominated for an Oscar. It's great to just be on the list. Yes. So you might not win, or would you rather win a Loki? It's a question.
Starting point is 00:00:58 No, I think you're a Quaintance list. I think I would go for the Oscar friend, because in conversation, you can sort of gloss over that you're the worst or you would nominate for the worst character group like Oscar nominated Yes, I'm a friend of Andy's. I suppose it's like are you playing in the Premier League? Yeah, or are you at down the bottom in soccer in soccer or you know, or you happy being in the division below but being absolutely brilliant Okay, well since we're playing the analogy game. Yeah. What about this? It's like, oh, I'm the worst smeg appliance. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Or, or I'm the best pal Sonic. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Now you're turning, Jack. I think I would rather be in that, or the worst smeg. Is that, of course, you're a smeg? Yeah, you're a smeg. That's like being the worst Ferrari.
Starting point is 00:01:42 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or would you rather be the worst Machita? No, I'd prefer to be a VWT. What? A lot of... Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's my dad's car. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Not the T-Rex.
Starting point is 00:01:54 Extremely hard to get. Yeah. We've covered this on a show many times. But however, you know how I said I saw three T-gwans in a row. Yeah, wouldn't mean. I've had another... Someone, someone contacted us on emails, came to my side of the fence. Another triple Tiguan's, I didn't know.
Starting point is 00:02:09 Well, I told Dad about this and he was like, no, I didn't believe the first one. And I certainly don't, he just heard you say that. Now everyone's pretending that they've seen Tiguan convoys. But I saw Tiguan convoys with my own eyes. So I know I've seen one before and I did question the authenticity of the other tick one. We're also going to say a hoi to Amy in Dubbo,
Starting point is 00:02:30 who uploaded on the very easy system at hamishnani.com, what she's up to today. Hey, Hamish, Andy and Jack, it's Amy here from Dubbo and New South Wales. I just want to let you know that I was just listening to the podcast and I was holding it above my pregnant belly and my baby just started kicking along to the podcast when you're having a chat I thought it was really cool because the other day I started playing music to the baby and it showed no interest
Starting point is 00:03:05 So it must be an early little VIP podcast to hear coming in June. See you later. Oh, that is beautiful. Well, when the baby's born, and it's a, you know, it's a fun thing when you have your first kid, it's a bit of a tradition that you set them up a listener app profile. And you input the preferences, what they like. Do they like sport, do they have it more comedy podcasts? So what a fun moment that'll be when you put down just chat as the preferences on the listener app.
Starting point is 00:03:26 Hey, before we get into what we're wearing, everybody, it's been a lot. I mean, I attempted the segue before the alley, but they're hinted, McKeeta, buzzword, McKeeta. We have big brands have been coming at the show, Willie Nealy, right? Obviously, we love the sponsor. Thank you very much.
Starting point is 00:03:44 That's a big one. They're the main... You get your special spot. Yeah, you get your special spot. But Canadian Club reached out to the three of us. I remember I told the story about them having teething issues at the Australian open contest. The Canadian Club Hut was not accepting the loyalty card. They said, a Hoi Hamishanian number six, we're very disappointed to hear that there were teething problems with the loyalty card at the AO bar earlier this year. We do apologize for this and we're looking into it. Is that's all?
Starting point is 00:04:13 Yeah, they said. Didn't we at the time suspect it was Canadian management giving the wrong directive to the Australian to the to the hut? Yeah, it would have been a lost in translation even though we spent so much But just you know a cultural difference that they haven't really caught up with we would have tried to upload this apology And as an audio file, but we're very busy people and they thought that creating the artwork Proofreading it sending it to print printing this because it's a nice letter
Starting point is 00:04:38 They sent delivery it to be packed with some merch for you and then delivering that back to Melbourne from Sydney Was gonna be quicker than trying to upload any audio. It's going to be 13%. It's going to be 30%. It's going to be scanning for the files, folders, open the window. Yeah, anyway, enjoy the pack. And again, since serosapologies for teething issues, yours with gusto, the Canadian club team. Well, we keep Canadian club.
Starting point is 00:04:59 We acknowledge the knowledge of the show. And they've certainly come around. You know what, it smells a bit like a new CEO at Canadian Club. That's what's coming. I heard about the TG, it's used to use the moment to out the old CEO. Yeah, because they've lost touch. So much of a lot of touch. Yep.
Starting point is 00:05:14 And now, it looks like they've got the right people on board at the top level. Doesn't automatically mean we just start sipping CCs and wearing the jumper. No, no, no. And not that easily bought. Until you, until you who has boughtin' C.C.s and where on the jumper? No, no, no. And not that easily bought. I tell you, who has bought us quite easily. Yes. Welcome aboard to our new jumper sponsor,
Starting point is 00:05:32 Maketa. Specifically the XGT Rones, which I assumed is the battery. Is it? I don't know. We seem to all be wearing XGT branded jumpers. I give us two weeks in these. I mean, is it all we warned, Maketa? We said, look, send us, we actually, I give us two weeks in these. I mean, is it we warned, McKee? We said, look, send us, we actually, actually, we two parts of this.
Starting point is 00:05:49 We demanded from McKee to free tools, if they have follow through. So, I ticked there, and they have also then, I think they took it upon themselves to go, and what about we give you jumpers? Now, they're not traditionally known as a tracksit company, and you can see why. We'll tie around the shoulders, tighter on the forearms,
Starting point is 00:06:06 I think we're all finding. But I think, Andy, Andy thinks that it's a tight forearm jump because traitors like to roll their sleeves up to keep the boy from danger. Yes. Because you don't want a baggy sleeve
Starting point is 00:06:15 getting caught in your circular drop saw or something. You certainly don't, but at the same time, you don't want this much pressure I wouldn't think on your forearm that will be nuisance all day long on the work side, which could drop productivity in other areas. On the work side. Anyway, we promised we didn't say we're gonna wear them
Starting point is 00:06:30 like critique free, just saying they're not an outstanding jumper, but it's nice to be back in something apart from white t-shirt. Warm enough though, aren't they? Too warm. I'm gonna be a big fan of it. I'm gonna say it smells a little bit And like I said put your order in yet for tools
Starting point is 00:06:55 See silly boy when from the best my friend and the enhanish over here They've put their order in now. They're going to town on the jumpers. I take the tools back I said last time we talked about the kid are that I'm on a deWalt battery system I haven't heard from deWalt yet, but I'm... If they sent some kind of yellow hoodie, I would wear it on the show. This is the pay you can't see. You can't have multiple sponsors in the same category, don't you? We keep doing, you've got to be a sponsor. The Mechaeta top for me is just a placeholder until if Dewalt was going to send a cool...
Starting point is 00:07:21 Because you run a complicated sponsor. Division over at your company. You've got three peanut butter sponsors. You're trying to keep all the balls in the air. So you're playing for a crappy team in the hope that you get selected for a better one and traded, so you're thinking? That's right.
Starting point is 00:07:34 And you've got to admit, they're not a great hoodie. Even though, my bag is the hoodie's fine. In my analogy, I'm going to apologize, because I said they're a crappity, they're not. They're great. No. And then we'd love Mikaer as a tool team. I'd just say, they would put their hand up and go, you look, we're a crevative, they're not. They're great. And then we'd love to hear as a tool team. I'm just saying, they would put their hand up and go, you look, we're not parlaying
Starting point is 00:07:47 into men's fashion. It just happens to be something we also make for fun. To be honest, it tells me that they're allocating their energy in the right areas. If they came in with a jump, it's too good. I'd go, now I'm beginning to wonder. Now I'm beginning to wonder if it's too easy for you over there. What else could you be making? Yeah, exactly. What it says to me is someone's going to go, go, go to get on the jump. Now I'm beginning to wonder if it's too easy for you over there at the beginning. What else could you be making? Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:08:06 What it says to me is someone's going to go, go, go to get on the jumpers and I'm like, no, we're perfecting tools. We're tool people. We're doing the tools. Well, can we allocate a bit of time to jumpers from, no. Yeah. Let's get the tools, Rob.
Starting point is 00:08:16 You know, also, for anyone that has a tool, especially in McKayla, a wonderful at this, that has either a pouch or a container, it just, all a tool covering does, it just covers the tool. That's all it has to do. It doesn't have to be a wonderful fit. It just has to be a pouch that's good enough
Starting point is 00:08:32 for that power ratchet or whatever, or a box that just loosely fits the drill. And that's what these jumpers are. They've obviously gone to the tool designers. Imagine the human torso was a tool. Build a case for it, right? A soft sleep on case It doesn't have to be the best jumper in the world. It's just a soft sleep on case for your torso And that's what they've done and so to me it says do your point
Starting point is 00:08:54 Absolutely the right right people in there the right designers, but wouldn't you actually see? Mr. DeWalt Anything from to what so I've got no you won't I haven't heard anything from Duwalsh, I've got a new bike. You won't. But wouldn't you get a tool, so the power ratchet or whatever it is? And if the bag didn't fit properly over it, you'd go, well, they're cutting corners here. Where else are they cutting corners?
Starting point is 00:09:15 No, I'd be happy because you don't buy the tool for the bag. No, but you'd like to see a stud like to see excellence. I'm not saying it doesn't fit over us. I'm just saying it's not designed as its main feature. That would worry me. I would be worried if I was buying tools only for the correct fit of the bag. Can I just say, Jack, oh, hey, I've had a slight peanut butter update. One of you, I'm not going to name the brand because I don't want to keep giving you that.
Starting point is 00:09:41 99 monkeys. No, one of you are other peanut butter monsters. My secondary sponsor. I've had a very well-known beloved expatul, a Sam Wood contact me going, does Jack like some help with Mavis? He's an ambassador for Mavis. He's doing his job.
Starting point is 00:09:57 He's a real one to get paid money for it. Yeah, and you just do it for no reason, occasionally get a $299 cup of battery. You know what I want to be? You know, you get breakfast. Right, so a $2.99. You're not a $2.99. You're not a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99.
Starting point is 00:10:09 You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99.
Starting point is 00:10:17 You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2.99. You're a $2, he's doing that because he's getting paid. Maybe you know, what do they get out of you? Well, I like the product. And I'm going to give
Starting point is 00:10:28 the people a pay for it. So they go, that must be legitimate because he likes, maybe is he likes 99 monkeys. He doesn't like, maybe is enough to be the solo peanut butter sponsor. No, well, I'm not getting paid. So I'm just going to say the peanut butter that I like and if they keep sending peanut butter. In your idea, world jack, do you walk around the supermarket and next to all the products, there's a representative from the company. And so, and the price, you're like, well, I'm obviously not paying for the product, but what will you pay me to consume this product? Well, we'll give you Veggie Mutt for free, really, because Marmite, they're going to pay
Starting point is 00:10:58 me a dollar. How can you match? I do eat a lot of Veggie Mutt, so I would be interested in something like that. Do you think you can say you're sponsored by something when you're not being paid to represent the company or even haven't even been asked to? But they did send, what is it when you get sent a free, I'm an influencer, I guess, with peanut butter.
Starting point is 00:11:20 Yeah, an influencer, but I don't think you can... I confuse influencer though, because you won't commit to one brand. Yes. Yeah, but again, I'm don't think you can... I confuse influencer though, because you won't commit to one brand. Yes. Yeah, but again, I'm saying I like many peanut butter. You've been a butter sub... or like it's all the same. Oh, here we go. Oh, here we go.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Oh, here we go. Belly wrap. Belly wrap. Why is spokesperson? Oh, oh, oh for one of these. Who knew that this would open such a can of worms? So many people being shunned by rustles out there. We've decided that we're going to potentially open it up to if you've been shunned by anyone. We'll follow it up for you on the podcast.
Starting point is 00:12:09 We have, we're not a rustle. We want to reneg on that. There's enough people that have had complex rustle issues that we need to sort out. It's crazy, isn't it? It's like going, we're opening up a, well, we planted some corn, but we plan to grow all the vegetables. And then go, oh my god, actually, there's too much for us to handle with the corn. We're going back to being just corn farmers.
Starting point is 00:12:29 Hey, Jack, I a little listener, Jack, emailed us in at hamishney.com. Jack joins us now. Jack, oh, how do you? Oh, how do I boys? I'd rather than me read out the situation. To me, this ticked enough boxes to warrant a follow-up to the shunning. What I really need to stress to people that are writing in for Shun By Russell, you must know them. They must be friends. You have to suspect the perplexing why they are not getting back to you. You have to suspect as it has the original
Starting point is 00:13:02 Shun By Russell, which is Russell Hercroft, we have completely sorted out that Shunning was an accidental block on the phone. Friendship is burning hot right here. A raging fire of friendship is now heading and that's my dream for all people that have been Shun BioRus. But the segment was born from the feeling of this doesn't add up. We see each other in person, we're friendly.
Starting point is 00:13:21 You get to the phone, it's ice cold. Couldn't figure it out. Now there was a legitimate technological reason of the shunning there. So you can just figure it out. And I hope that we could solve all of the shunnings in the same way. This might be slightly different
Starting point is 00:13:34 because I reckon it might be clear why the Russell's being shunned. But it's certainly unfair. Go for it, Jack. By Jack's being shunned by Russell, sorry. So this is about a four year shunning, but he keeps coming back and then re-shunning me. So it's kind of half exposing your web of lies.
Starting point is 00:13:52 He originally asked if he could borrow my golf clubs. I said, yep, I'm gonna pick them up at my mom and dad's house because I had left them here because I was renting another place. Time. He had then taken them and I had left an ex, I was renting another place. Tom. He had been taking them and I had genuinely forgotten about him boring my clubs until about a year and a half later. I said, hey, Russell, who wishes to guys know?
Starting point is 00:14:13 No, not a restarfer, which we would also accept for Sean by Russell. Hey, Russell, can I borrow the clubs for friends? I'll come in to play around a golf. I didn't hear Dutchman for two weeks. So after suspiciously after, I had already missed the playing golf for them. He responded back to me saying, oh, I think that what my mom does, I have to get back to you. Then he never responded back to me.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Again, after a couple of followups saying, hey, where are the clubs? We the clubs right about six months later. He then responded back to me saying I think my other friend Cooper has got them don't bother contacting him now. He's in hospital. I'll let you know when he gets back to me. Do you know Cooper Jack? I don't know. Could be matter. Could be matter. Correct. So this has been going on and off me responding back by Instagram and messaging and calling.
Starting point is 00:15:11 So Russell and I were friends in high school and have a mate friend since about 12 years later. And I, the golf clubs aren't anywhere to be found. And he keeps not responding to my messages. Okay. Fascinating son by a russ. This is a very good, this is a great case. Am I right in saying here, Jack,
Starting point is 00:15:27 that he just, two weeks later, picks up the conversation as if it's just happening. Is he one of those guys? Yeah, yes, exactly. So is a curious thing, is it? Where you're like, hey, mate, where's this golf club? 14 days go by. Get in there, sorry, I was just having a sandwich.
Starting point is 00:15:41 I was like, yeah. I'm not sure if I think that we've cooper, but you don't know, and doesn't sandwiches. Yeah. I'm not sure if we're thinking of Cooper. You don't know and doesn't exist. Correct. We probably know why he's being shunned, but being shunned as in Jack's being shunned by a Russ. The clubs, he can't find the clubs. Can't find the clubs.
Starting point is 00:15:59 They're somewhere very inconvenient. It's lost them or given them away to someone. So I suppose what we want out of this situation is Russell going, yeah, I've lost them, forgive me. And then relationship can go back to normal footing. Well, it's what we want is some honesty, don't we, from the Russell. And this is where I, I love, I mean, we all have dreams. I know and I dream that 10 years time on the podcast, we're still doing chan by russ, and it's harvesting the results that we've had so far
Starting point is 00:16:29 with Russell Houdcroft. But the success of chan by russ hinges on the russ being a great honest person. Now, of course, we got lucky with Russell Houdcroft, but let's be honest, that's one of the best russles in the world. Yes. I'm not just saying that because we're in the middle of a red hot friendship. Jack, I just thought we'd be in that honesty.
Starting point is 00:16:51 Call your russle now if he picks up. Will you feel comfortable enough just us just diving straight into it? I would actually. I can say, okay, just give me an honest answer. Where are they? No, one thing we do here is we call him if you pick up, we say it's time for you on the podcast and you're part of a great segment. Yeah, right?
Starting point is 00:17:11 And then we'll play in the opener. Yeah. Yeah. And you really want the Russell. You wanted to feel the full glare of the search lights on him and him to break down and just be honest. Okay. Good luck.
Starting point is 00:17:23 I don't want to wriggle Russell. We're trying to get it. Hello. Is that Russell? Yes, it is. Go, Tammy Schneider here, mate. Tell me how are you? I'm good, yourself. Russell, you get terrific, mate. You got nominated for a great new segment. That's why we're calling you out of the blue. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It sounds, um, that sounds concerning. Should I be concerned? No, no, all right I don't know if you listen to the podcast or not, but you know, you're on the podcast at the moment We welcome you Would you like to know the title of the segment?
Starting point is 00:17:55 Sure thing. Okay, let's do it Not trying to complain to one of cause of us, but you have been shown by a rust Oh Plain to one cause of us, but you have been shunned by a rustle. Oh, shunned by a rustle. Is the segment you are part of rustle as you may have guessed, as I'm sure you're aware of your name, you play the role of rustle. Yep. Now, the question you may be asking yourself right now is,
Starting point is 00:18:20 what is shunned by a rustle and B, and if you've accurately concluded that it's a segment where we have an instance of a Russell shunning someone, you might be thinking of yourself who was my shunned. Well, I was thinking I remember one of you is getting shunned by Russell. Is that not right? That's right. That's where this came from. Yes, that's correct.
Starting point is 00:18:39 Yes, that's correct. Yes, that's correct. Yes, that's correct. Yes, that's correct. Yes, that's correct. Yes, that's correct. Yes, that's correct. Yes, that's correct. Yes, that's correct. Yes, that's correct. Shun by Russell, turns out he wasn't. He just accidentally blocked Russell how across the number on his phone. And so it was appeared like he's being shunned. The feeling was real, but actually Russell
Starting point is 00:18:49 felt like he was being shunned by me. Yes. And there was a two way shunning. And that's what's great about this segment often. It's just a simple misunderstanding that really clears everything up. So now, my case has been closed to the satisfaction of the listeners.
Starting point is 00:19:03 Your case is open at the moment, Russell. Russell, do you think of anyone in your life who might have heard the segment and gone, I think I've been shunned by Russell, a friend, someone that has a lot of deep affection for you, but might be confused at some behavior as to why you're not getting back to him. Oh, it's actually, oh, you just gave me a hint, you said him. I'm shunning a lot of people, are we, Russell? And not a gender binary shunner.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Too right. I'm glad you specified that. It's someone who you borrowed something from, who then feels that they had a lot of trouble getting back in contact with you to retrieve the thing. It's been a long time, Shunning. I'll put it that way. I got it back. Shady, I hope from the Shunning. So long that you don't remember his name.
Starting point is 00:19:57 No, no, no. It's been recently brought back to the forefront. I call him J. Ho, but he's otherwise known as Jack holiday. Yeah, okay. Yeah, we've got the same name. And I'm shunning him over a set of golf clubs, no, that matches the file notes that we have as well. Yeah, position from J-Ho that he's the statement of fact he's put forward. So we do have J. Ho. Jack, we know how to say hello to Russ. Hello, Russell.
Starting point is 00:20:31 How are you, J. Ho? I love the extent that you've gone through to get these shitty clubs. Russell's coming out of the fence over you, Haynagan. It's, unfortunately, Jack, I feel like it no other place to turn. That's why we offer this service. Yes. Okay. Look, I've got some great points of defense here
Starting point is 00:20:52 because J.H.O.'s quality level of communication skills actually turn out to be quite below average. Okay. No, it's not a man slinging fist. It can this be, it can be, I suppose we're making a lot of noise. We're every rustle, it's pretty good. But yeah, so you would like to go, oh, you've been trying to reach out,
Starting point is 00:21:11 but just, you keep missing each other for technical reasons. I'll give you a short and sweet over the past three years about it's gone about. So me and Jaho, we mate, right. At school, we were super tight, we used to hang out a lot. So I think I was around 21 or 22.
Starting point is 00:21:28 I'm turning 28 in like a few weeks, right? So three years ago, I get a message, and it's like, hey, mate, can I get those golf clubs back off you? And I was like, yeah, yeah, they're in my parents' garage. And he's like, cool, sounds good, sounds good. And at the time, I didn't have a car, so I couldn't just drive him over and drop him off. So I was like, oh, I'll leave him out in the driveway.
Starting point is 00:21:48 And then my parents moved house, didn't hear anything back from J.O. about it. And then a year later, around the same time, actually, he must have like a mate annual golf next together and play golf, no other days. Well, it sticks to the fact he rustled, he and no other day for it. Stick to the fact that you Russell, K.P. Jax, you're out of it. Okay, yeah. So I get another message about a year later. Hey, mate, can I grab those golf clubs off? I thought we sorted this out. So I call Mum and Dad at the new place.
Starting point is 00:22:18 I'm like, hey, those golf clubs still down in the garage. And they're like, yeah, we'll have a look. So we go to sort it out. And then nothing happens again. And I try to hear from him again for another year. Down in the garage and they're like yeah, yeah, we'll have a look so we go to sort it out and then Nothing happens again, and I tried to hear from him again for another year. Oh, right So hey, don't you a moment day give 18 go you we have a visual in the clubs or are you shunned by a mom or shunned by a dad there? Yeah, so no, I was I was shunned by J. Oh, they had Initially found them in the most recent attempts to source them. They are Unfindable. So, okay.
Starting point is 00:22:47 Okay. So, this is the third year. This is the third year. Okay. What we're looking at is some lost golf clubs. But we're also looking at a Russell that by his own admission has been shunning someone to not admit that they're lost. Is that fair, Russ? I can, I'll give you the reasoning though.
Starting point is 00:23:05 So I, this is actually a tip for tat on the shun front, right? OK. So I was like, OK, let me look back through my correspondence with my sister and my mom and dad over the past couple years around that date to try and figure out what had happened. And then I look back through my history with Jack in messages trying to figure out what had happened. And then I looked back through my history with Jack in messages trying to figure out what had happened. And I realized that there had been a bunch of times when I bumped into J.H.O. and we'd said, oh, let's link up and recopy and then I'd message him and then he'd never replied.
Starting point is 00:23:36 Oh. And I just thought to myself, I'll sell his golf club. This guy doesn't deserve golf club. He's been shunning me for like the whole time. I've been shunning him. He's going to happen to me. This is exactly what happens because you escalate the shunning. And you can start thinking unfair things about the other party. Russell, Russell thought you were shunning him as well. Ham and it turns out you were, but accidentally. Jack, how do you respond
Starting point is 00:24:05 to the lack of linking up with Russell? I will say that he's probably correct in a couple of times. You haven't caught a great catching up with him. Yeah. I've been in my fault. So this is great. This is exactly what's going on. You guys come out guns drawn and then just before the gunfight happens, you go, oh, you're smith and worse and go, yeah, I love smith and worse. Yeah, it's all your best friends. And you're about to have a gunfight. You're bonding over your love of the firearm you chose to take to the battle. So this is what Shun Byras is all about.
Starting point is 00:24:40 It actually uncovers a friendship that wasn't dying. It's ready to be raging hot again, like Blake Hercroft. Yeah, it's ready to rage. Have the golf clubs just vanished? Did you sell them? Did you just go, they've been thrown out? Someone's taking it.
Starting point is 00:24:55 Well, yeah, look, even my mum's clubs are better. So I think they were just looking at these things taking up space in their garage and they were like, oh, it's given me some kid that doesn't have golf clubs. I bet they did. All the time. You just introduced a charity angle to it?
Starting point is 00:25:09 Yeah. It's probably better used by a sword. It's easier than it got me. So, Jack, are you happy to let the clubs go if it can return the friendship? I will let the clubs go. If Russell made you guys meet a couple of bees, so sorry, make up. How do we feel about that, Russ? Yeah, well that entails us having to link up J.H.O.
Starting point is 00:25:34 So that's on your answer. I was thinking, well, should point out, you know, he has struggled to be in getting conflict with you. Look, we've done all we can. You've got, you can link up now if you want your free beers. And there's a little bit of interest in sending you to do so. Exactly. Thanks very much for closing this case. I can't believe we've ended up with another Russ and Shunny coming back together.
Starting point is 00:25:56 Wonderful. Let's do another one soon. I am a triumphant return of this segment after last week. And man, I'm trying. I was absolutely, was it solved of all allegations, as opposed to all suspicions dropped against Pino. I saw him with bow and ten eyes to eyes in the flesh. Not only is he telling he's an incredible man. Pino of course from Zio Pino's in Sydney. The number one destination for not just pizza,
Starting point is 00:26:25 I know that's in there, but it's a full restaurant. Is this the first time we're playing it this year? I think it is. Because we went to play it and before we could go to play it, the case was bought against Pen. So Jack is the first person that's going to play it this year. Hit us up at hemishinary.com saying he wanted
Starting point is 00:26:41 a chance at the pizza title. Jack, what are you? Oh, hey boys, happy birthday Andy. No need, good on you Jack. Now Jack, you were the first person playing under the new hat system of pizza lotto. Did you know about the hats? I did, I'm very excited.
Starting point is 00:26:56 It was, I must admit it was a huge incentive. Okay, so can I, you've got yourself a hat? Just by being on the phone and being selected as today's participant, you already have a pizza lot of participant hat. That is black and white, cheap. If you, the quality is fine, but the printing is obviously cheap. Should you win, you will get the three color red, color printed, three color printed, yellow, red and black.
Starting point is 00:27:22 You will get the three color printed. Red winners hat. Yes. He's a lot of winner. Is the, obviously, the fond. I think it has a bit of a rope across that separates the peak and not hold back. And that was the name. Yep, crown of the hat.
Starting point is 00:27:38 That's right. Like an admirals. It's sounding very nice. It's got you. It's a very nice. Hey mate, you would have followed the Pino's, I suppose, accent saga. Great to know that he's obviously... He's all clear now.
Starting point is 00:27:53 So we're ready to play. Have you got something in mind that you're going to pick as a pizza? Don't tell us. Or are you just going to... No, look, I feel like that the key to pizza a lot of is sort of asking yourself what sort of pizza people would order today. So I feel like I wanna consider a few variables for fri and make my decision.
Starting point is 00:28:14 And also it's important to read the vibe of the restaurant and Pino himself. Okay, let's give Pino a buzz. Pino. Hello, Pino. Pino's a Pino or Buzz. Hello, it's your Peno. How is that Peno? Hello. It's Hamish and Andy here. Is that Peno?
Starting point is 00:28:32 Sorry? Oh, can we speak to Peno please? Oh yes, yes. Do you want to speak with you? Oh, I'm sorry, I have a little laugh here. Oh, my gosh. Hello. Hey, Peno, it's Hamish and Andy.
Starting point is 00:28:43 Hey, how are you, my friends? Hey, hey, hey, hey. Yeah, Peno, that's Hamish and Andy, how you going? Hey, how are you my friends? Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, to see a man change here comes. Oh. Oh. Sorry. I don't know. You didn't know who he was. No. No. But now we do, now we do friends. Peno and I, we had a pizza there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:15 We're delicious. Delicious pizza. Peno. Oh, it was very good. We had a good decision. Yes. So Peno, we've got Jack standing by. He wants to play pizza a lot, though.
Starting point is 00:29:24 If you're still up for playing it. Yeah, yeah. Jack, say hello to Pino. Hey, Pino. Hey, how you doing? And let's play very well. I'm great. I know. That's good.
Starting point is 00:29:35 Let's get into it. Let's get into it. When you're having a try to guess the pizza, I've had a lot of... Pizza lot of... Okay, here we go for the first time in 2021. Pino, the first question we have for you is without telling us the type of pizza,
Starting point is 00:29:56 is there a pizza in the oven? Yet! Hey! You beat in the oven. Okay, okay. Pino. Okay, the next... Jack, sorry, Jack, we so. Hino. Okay, the next... Jack, sorry, Jack, we need you to tell us.
Starting point is 00:30:07 What is the next pizza to be ready coming out of here? Oh, am I allowed to ask Hino a couple of questions about the other... No, yeah, the... Yes, Hino says yes. Okay, you can have one question. Oh, one question. Okay, Hino, what's the weather like outside? It's a little bit hot, a little bit hot. A little bit hot, okay? Great.
Starting point is 00:30:33 Oh, ice cream pizza. Jack, what do you find out? 25 degrees here. 25 degrees, that sounds very pleasant. Okay. Jack, what's your guess for the next pizza coming out of the oven? I'm gonna go with margarita. Margarita, yeah, you okay? It's not a few in there. What's the next one here? What's the next one to be ready, Peno? Margarita is okay and the next one, eh?
Starting point is 00:30:58 But what is the next one coming out? What's the next pizza coming out? Mitlaven. Mitlaven. Ah! Ah! So close, tease. He's in a mid-delab. He's in a mid-delab. Oh! Oh! Oh! So close. T's.
Starting point is 00:31:07 What's that? He's in a red. He's in a red. Here we go. He's in a red or in a red. He's in a red. It's just not next out. Oh.
Starting point is 00:31:15 You're way too old to know that one, huh? Oh, well. So close. That's the fun of the game. Thank you very much, Pino. No problem. Cheers, world-owned. Thank you, you too, my friend.
Starting point is 00:31:23 I'll be right back. I'll be right you. Thank you, my friend. Thank you again. Have a good day. Thank you. MUSIC Hi, I'm Special Skill Time. It was Harry who wrote in as very important podcast as saying, his special skill, he can discern what a type of pie it is, the brand of pie, from taste and texture alone, any supermarket pie. We've been down a familiar, a similar path, same woods, different path, same forest, same flavor forest, different path. We've traped us down before with dim sims,
Starting point is 00:31:57 but never a pie. And this got our attention on it because we just thought, look, will you take visual aid out of a pie? Yep. That is impressive. If he can select from one of the commonly available supermarket brands. And so we booked the most important border in the biggest border in this company has. We did. And Harry flew down on the cheapest flight. To eat the cheapest pies. Harry is coming in to guess a pie.
Starting point is 00:32:24 They'll be perfectly cooked for him to guess the pie. They'll be perfectly cooked for him to get the pie. If it's in the supermarket freezer, we got the guy. He'll try to get the pie, to get the pie, to get the pie. Whatever got the... Harry, welcome. Good day. We've booked out the most important board room Whatever the go, that's... Harry, welcome. Good day. We've booked out the most important boardroom at this whole company for this. Four tunes are decided in this room.
Starting point is 00:32:52 It empires rise and fall, but today nothing more important is on the table, other than can you accurately determine which type of supermarket pie you're biting into. That's hopes up. Yeah, okay. Taste and texture alone. Yeah, that was a rule. We're taking out the visual element because that's a separate skill.
Starting point is 00:33:12 One, we all decided it was a lot less impressive. Now, currently if I'm wrong here, but you have provided to the producers of the podcast during the week a list of approved pies. How many was on the list? Seven or something. Seven or eight?
Starting point is 00:33:24 Seven or eight, Seven or eight. The only reason I mentioned it is I want to, I believe this is, so we picked three from that list. Right. It's impossible to really get, I mean, for you to get three in a row, the odds of you guessing at a minuscule, I'm just framing it for people to be like, is this an impressive skill? I believe this is phenomenal if you can do it, because people think they can taste a pie. But let's be honest, once you've, once you're in the thick of it, you can't see the visual cues.
Starting point is 00:33:51 Yeah. There's a lot of subtleties I assume you're looking for. Yeah, practice during the week. I practice last night. Yeah, I'm seven different pies. Head to go. Seven. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:34:01 We heard it. I really did. If I hadn't seen people see them that position before and tell us they're amazing to their skill, I'd leave it then through, I'd land around very hard into the roof. And similar situations, I would be terrified for us right now, but I still think we've got a good challenge on our hands. What are you looking for in the variations from part to part? I couldn't tell you wanting gradientradiant, some tastings, all that sort of stuff.
Starting point is 00:34:28 It's just, I'll eat it. I don't know what's telling me that that's a 420, or that's Mrs. Maxx. I just know it. I've had that many parts in my life. But not all great players are great coaches. I mean, that's a different skill coaching. That's passing the knowledge on it.
Starting point is 00:34:41 You just are a natural. To make it clear, the list was every single available pie in the frozen section at Supermarkets. So that, we couldn't get any more. That's true. So I think that's fair. You must get free from free today. That's fine.
Starting point is 00:34:57 And because it's taste and texture alone. Blindfold. Is it going to be on like a spoon? Or do you like it? Or do I get a full pie? Because I don't need, I don't need pies with color. Okay. So I'd like it how I usually.
Starting point is 00:35:10 Sorry. Yep, I apologize if that was insulting to have a knife in front of you. Okay. Why, why is that you don't need them with the color? Because I reckon what makes good pies a structure as well. Structural integrity. If it falls apart when you're eating it,
Starting point is 00:35:24 that's not a good pie. Like a building. Yeah, if it falls apart. Exactly. If you're seeing the if you're desk, the worst crumbling day out, you often think, I will rate up by base, the 50% structure and 50% taste. Structure is huge. I'm definitely getting that from you and you think the knife and fork is a get out of your free card for a poorly structured pie. Yeah. So if there was poop inside a well-structured part, still could get a... As long as we have...
Starting point is 00:35:49 As long as we have a crutchy, puffy top and a well-held base, I guess. Queen's queen, through it. Could still qualify. Are you ready? Yeah, I'm going to lie. I hope these are coming in too hot because that's the other risk we run here.
Starting point is 00:36:04 I think I'll be right. I think it should be fine. Harry, pop that on. It's a one coin coin. It is one coin coin. And it must be all three at the end. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Pop it down. One quick question before we begin. I notice you are wearing a sports watch. Yeah. Doesn't have a heart rate monitor in it. Yeah. Because we give an idea of your heart rate at the moment. Because you look very relaxed, but I would love to know what you're doing. 85 in it. Yeah. We get an idea of your heart rate at the moment, because you look very relaxed,
Starting point is 00:36:25 but I would love to know what you're doing. 85. 85. 82. You look at our pretty fit guards, how your resting's probably around 60. So slightly elevated at the moment, but not panicking.
Starting point is 00:36:35 Not panicking, yeah. But I'll say that actually, it takes actually just a little bit of extra blood rushing to the mouth, to the taste buds, priming them. That's it. Okay. Just in learning the troops up there. To taste troops. priming them. That's it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:45 Just in learning the troops up there. The taste troops. It's been getting battle. Michael, bring us a pie. Here we go. A pie, a cast mic. Pie is being placed in front of you. They're the very man that's simple Simon Mac on the way
Starting point is 00:37:00 to the fair. You can, you'll see you'll feel a plate. Yeah. And then you'll feel a pie see you'll feel a plate. Yeah. And then you'll feel a pie. You'll feel a circular pastry disc. That is a pie. Okay, you may eat. It's a little fair, we're punching across there.
Starting point is 00:37:18 Yeah. Structure? It's a thin pastry, pretty hard. Just gotta get to the middle though. Takes a few bites. OK, that's fine. I love the live process, the live chat of the process. To the observer, Harriet, does seem like you have struggled to meet.
Starting point is 00:37:38 Yep. What is the meat telling your mouth? It tastes very cheap. OK, sure. I'm going to go home brand. Do you wanna name it a coleslaw woolies? Or would love to. Sorry, before you say that, Harry, I,
Starting point is 00:37:56 all right, I've just, I saw how you operated, you watched you for it, I've swiped up a few times to get your heart rate. You're at 92 now, so you've got 10 beats a minute elevated for where you were. We'd like you to confirm Colesal Woolies. If that's the direction you're going in. I want to say...
Starting point is 00:38:12 I want to say it's Woolies' home brand. It's Coles' home brand. You know, you know why? I didn't get that, that's that's the comparison I would have been able to pick that because the home brand pie is a very different taste from other meat So I reckon if that one comes out second and I've eaten something before it I reckon I would have got it because Have a little what we're gonna do is we'll bring in another pie Yeah, because at the moment it's gallant, it's certainly not.
Starting point is 00:38:45 At the moment you're throwing. Yeah, no, no, not at all. The moment you're zero from one, but with a lot of honor. Yeah, the display you put on is phenomenal. You just haven't been able to keep the goal. Yeah. Let's I'm just checking you know what, check it. 90. He's done 3,000 steps today, because it has been a big day getting down from sleeping. Yeah, keep it spot. It's probably very cheap.
Starting point is 00:39:17 It's not 11 flights, it's theirs. Okay, sorry. Okay. Back to how's that pie theory for you? Still early. Still, you still on the for you? Um, still early. Still, you still on the cross level? Yeah, okay. I could also see one of the little logos on his watch
Starting point is 00:39:31 was the Pie icon, which is Pie's per day for last city days, and he's at six. Well, what do you think? If I'm honest, I'm really struggling with this one. Okay. Finding it hard to recognise. Appreciate your honesty. What's bamboozling you at the moment is the spice mix,
Starting point is 00:39:45 the meat mix, the texture, the structural integrity. Yeah, I reckon it tastes like a certain pie. 12-3 process, name the name. It tastes like it could be a sardines. Right, but it doesn't feel like it could be a sardines. But it doesn't feel like a sardines. A sardines in the 4 and 20s clothing or whatever. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:06 I got to go sergeants. It's the only thing that's coming online. I'm not happy with that. What if I said it was a female pie? A female pie. Who's married? Two perhaps Mr. Mac. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:40:19 Oh, no. This is Mac. Yes. This is Mac. It is. Far out. Got Max. Yes, Mrs. Max. It is far out. Got an angry Harry here on the out. I think we leave it there.
Starting point is 00:40:32 It was like I think. Okay, now that you know that Mrs. Max Harry, what's he thought? I'm sorry, disappointed. Take the blindfold. It's a long flight. I've got an idea. As an exciting twist, after we've just had two,
Starting point is 00:40:48 not quite landing on the money, we've got the other pie in the room, speed round. In 10 seconds, Mike runs it down, you chomp, and with your mouth full, you have to yell out the name of the pie. All right, and exciting. So, like, I have the blindfold on, right? No, no, no. We're just going to do it really fast,
Starting point is 00:41:02 so this is what, because you've already seen the pie, so I can't do it. You can't do it. This is like at so this is what, because you've already seen the parts of the lowly matter. You can. You can. So this is like at the end of the Olympics, if you like, crash out of the hurdles. Yeah. Just as you're leaving, you pick up a discousness. And we're going to just to see you maybe you could.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Yeah. So here we go. What is your speed round? Go. Fastest cam. Fastest cam. Three, two, one. Put the part out.
Starting point is 00:41:22 Go. Finally good. Say it. say it. Ball fours. It's a herbivorous. It's a herbivorous. The bird was exciting. Harry, we'll get you a token of no value.
Starting point is 00:41:40 Please don't. When you get a tribute any of you want to, but we will tribute no value what's up. It was an honor to have you on the show. I want to, but we will tribute no value what's up to the Hawaii. It was an honor to have you on the show. Again, we find ourselves in a similar position. You can train and train and then you come to the Big Arena. It can sometimes get a better view.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Never give up. You keep on, we'll keep on. That's it, and I suppose a long flight home for you isn't it? It will be, yeah. Mainly because we book you and check once in an off-and-delay. There will be no catering on the flight. We obviously opted that ticket, but you've had three half-piles, so you're all good. Hey guys, it's Mike here from the Hey Mission Andy team, just popping in at the end here
Starting point is 00:42:17 to remind you that season two of the Remembring project is out now. You can catch it every Monday, wherever you podcast. Here is a look back at this week's episode where Hamish really tries to maximize his radio holidays. I think I flew around the world at the end of 2007. I think that was the year that I went with Ryan, our mate. Yes. The day the show finished.
Starting point is 00:42:41 Yes. We went straight to the airport, flew around the world for six weeks, and I landed the morning of our first show finished. We went straight to the airport, flew around the world for six weeks, and I landed the morning of our first show back. Yeah, so we went into the top. I was delayed one day, because I had food poisoning in LA on the way home, and then I landed on the morning we were doing our first show. So when we got back in and our producer Sam was like,
Starting point is 00:43:01 all right guys, it's been six weeks, what are you thinking? What do you got? What do you got? What do you got? Food poisoning. I've got empty guts and a hard level of gatorade in my system. There you go guys, new episodes of the Remembering Project every Monday and all of season one is still there. If you want to check that out as well,
Starting point is 00:43:19 we'll catch you next week. Thanks for listening. The Hamish Nandy podcast will return next week.
