A list-knife production.
Activate your internet.
Cause the Hamish and the Podcast starts in 3, 2, sorry, still buffering.
One.
A hoi-do-you, hema!
A hoi, my friend. A hoi-i you, Hema!
Ahojiii my friends.
Ahojiii you, Jacko.
Ahojiii you guys.
And ahojiii.
Usually you come to be honest with me fair.
Usually you have been, I've been enjoying you coming with different positions.
Yes.
I feel like you didn't do that, you didn't research that today.
No.
When I was the hammer, I thought, gee, loose chance here that Jack's going to be the shifter
wrench or something.
Yes, Jacko. The Jack's gonna be the shifter wrench or something.
Yes, this is Jack O. The Jackhammer.
It could have been, which had the beard boys combined,
but a hoi also to Carly, who obviously is the easy system at www.hameshneed.com to tell us what you'd up to.
Ahoi boys, it's Carly from Melbourne here.
I have just caught up after starting the podcast about a month ago,
so I have been listening to it 24-7. I am going to say, I don't know how this is going
to get uploaded. I've been trying all day and it's taking forever. Hey, Michelle, I have
a personal tidbit with you. When you talked about sunny hoarding demands in his wardrobe,
it gave my kids almost like an all clear that it's socially acceptable for them to do the
same. So now I'm currently picking acceptable for them to do the same.
So now I'm currently picking Pips up out of the wardrobe, so thanks for that.
And Jack, needing some Augusto from you, come on.
Oh, she.
I very impressed.
We did establish a Jack Dasto's improved, but he believes she's obviously going back to the start in the last month.
She's listening to early episodes.
Yeah, that's true.
And I think when you listen to them back to back, it is so clear.
Yeah, that he's in peace and troughs.
Oh, sorry, the gusto has been proved,
but yeah, when you hear the early stuff,
that's probably why she didn't say it,
but it might be why she went back just to go,
Hey, you second.
They changed hosts?
Like if they bring a different actor in for Jack,
I better go back and check and enjoy. OK.
It's like Jack at the end of the MbF ad for a hilted shirt.
It's like he's done everything he meant to about wellness
and suddenly he's at the other end at the scene.
That's it, yeah.
He's like a glowing new fresh version of himself.
No, you just does pre-mo, Jack.
Hey, you said that you wanted to take the right...
I'm right on top of this.
Uh, I've got something, guys.
It's...
I constantly think we're probably done
with impulse club because they, yeah.
But of course, that's such a dumb thing to think.
Because my impulse is going nowhere.
Yeah.
And the products are only multiply.
Like people aren't stopping making random things
to put, to sell through targeted Instagram ads.
I mean, the amount of people
I run into on the street and we share this bond. I mean where do the ads come up on Instagram?
Like is it a straw? I just said a straw. It will be a wrap up.
You go, I don't know. I don't know. Remember following drum stop? I'll hang on. I know what's
happening. And why am I, because several times I've gone,
I don't remember following these guys,
like this all happens in a millisecond, right?
And I go, but Jim, glad I did because they've got,
like maybe I made, because I sometimes follow like accounts
that might have like cool stuff that's being invented.
If you're like a concept electric car
or something like a design account,
and sometimes my brain thinks it's one of those,
because I probably follow like six or seven hundred accounts.
So the algorithm, you know, there'd be stuff I don't see,
but then something will come back in from an account
you about like cool cabins that you followed,
like eight years ago, and suddenly it's back
with just for something.
Did you see the drum move that I sent you the other day?
Just why you mentioned drum stuff.
I said, yeah, yeah, yeah, on that.
It may be because obviously there's a growing urge of us to play in cool boys in the front
man again. Yeah. That was analog drums. I got was playing. He was that guy was playing analog
drums and he did this sweet move and I just did it. I mean, we like balances one of the
sticks on the high hat. Have you seen that before? Yeah. That sounds cool. It's on
bleak. Why are you two drummer does thatagger? No, that sounds cool. It's on Blake Whitey too, Drowmer does it apparently.
Travis Barker.
Yeah.
He wiggles it on the top of the high hat.
Yeah, so he can, he can...
He like, let's go of the stick.
He like, I just think he hits it and it plays itself essentially while Hovra does
it, Jack.
Self-playing stick.
Did you do that home?
No, but that's not really a traditional way, But I certainly be up for doing something like that.
It's a laugh after a gig one night, maybe.
He's, I mean, still a dad for a self-playing stick with God.
Oh, funnily enough, there's a thing at the moment
that I was battling with literally last night.
And it's like, I think it's called drum.
There might be called drum move or something or drum house
or something.
They're like, you know, we've almost sold it out of them. Thanks so much everyone for buying one
and immediately my idiot brain goes, oh, there's still time. Whatever it is, there's still time.
And it is, you send your money away and you get a kit with the sticks, drum sticks and sensors
that go on the stick and then sensors that go on your hands
and your feet, and depending on how you play, it then can replicate like a 12-piece drum kit.
So, you know, the sound comes out of your phone. So, you can like practice drums.
You're hitting your hair. You're doing hair or cushions or something, and the sensors know where
your sticks are, they know where your hands are,
and they can recreate like the toms or whatever. And my brain is like, oh my god, how lucky are we
that we didn't see this tomorrow. There might be enough time. So that's something I'm battling.
Even though I know I had the opportunity for years to experience what it felt like to play drums
by sitting down at the kit and playing it.
And I did not do it.
In fact, I mean, I loved it in my heart.
I love the concept, but I was kind enough to rent it to Jack
for his music room.
Even harder than to get strapped in every time you want to play
to this end.
No, the main reason I wasn't playing the electronic drum kit,
was because you had to like plug two things out and plug one thing in. That was too much friction in that transaction
for me. I was like, too high a barrier to entry. So yeah, I'm like rolling all my senses
and stuff. He's not going to happen. But for the very first time I think ever, a lot of people
are sending me impulse club stuff. First time ever, we've got a celebrity impulse club.
Hang on, a celebrity suggestion.
Yes. And one of the show's most beloved celebrities has sent me something going,
it'd be very interested in this going. The horse from war horse. No, the man from war horse.
It is our favorite human actor. Human actor. Yes. Jeremy Irvine. When you said you
been the biggest celebrity, I thought obviously the horse
But the horse from war he's our favorite actor of all time
He's 2011 movie Steven Spielberg movie war horse that horse is our favorite actor human actor
Jeremy Irvine the man that's in that film and then it's subsequently many other films and I was supported the horse
Brilliantly beautifully. Yeah. So Jeremy
Irvine and also Jeremy, you know, we all, I mean, this is the man that people would remember in
the Hamish by Andy, sorry, Andy by Hamish days, the fragrance. He got Andy by Hamish into the nostrils
of Pierce Brosnan. Yeah. On the set of Mamma Mia too. He got it. He got it. Molecules of our fragrance
up the hunger of bros. And that is huge.
I have on good authority that he was being a little bit of a pest
when he went around spraying people.
Like we're all spilling blood for it.
I was happy to take the hit.
I was happy to take the hit.
Yeah.
And also, he and I are close mates with JB as well.
Like we got a shared buddy in common.
Who's JB?
James Bond.
That's right.
So we both enjoy going to a Bether and seeing JB.
So there's so much overlap for Jeremy.
On Instagram, since we do our messaging, I'm interested in this if you are.
I will show you a picture.
He must be getting, I dream of getting the quality of ads.
Jeremy's getting.
I mean, Instagram has me down as an absolute dance.
Well, by anything, like I get turds.
And I still buy them.
And that only encourages them to sell me more turds.
I reckon the algorithm has.
I think the algorithm goes, I think this guy is like a real...
You know, into $2?
He's got no...
He's got no...
He's got no taste, but he might want to scratch it, because he's buying a real, you know, into $2. He's got no, he's got no, he's got no, he's got no taste,
but he might want to scratch it because he's buying a lot.
He might have made me one 10 grand on a scratch or something,
but he's got no taste, buying like the worst stuff.
It's clearly gonna fall apart.
He keeps sucking it, he hoovering it up.
Jeremy Irvine, on the other hand,
he's getting good ads at it.
This is like a dutch pencil sharpener called the Hovel.
Have you said, if you guys come across this on Instagram yet?
No.
The O is one of those O's with the line through it.
So I don't know if that's pronounced Hovel or Hovel.
But I'm just showing you a little picture of it here, right?
I mean, that's, it's a solid brass pencil sharpener
that you rub against the pencil, right?
And it does the sharpening, it's not a twister, it's not a twister jacket.
You're thinking, not a staid line, okay?
You think it was a staid line?
I was thinking of one that you turned the pencil in. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, like, okay, that's functional pencil sharpening. This is for the art of pencil sharpening.
It says, this is the hoover and it's for sharpening
woodcase pencils and boy does it.
Wow.
This is, this is, this is,
this is definitely more ery than you though him.
Boy does it sharpen them.
It's a 90 gram block.
Gotta say he's like, wow, 90 grams, that's not light.
All right.
No, I don't know.
It's not really light.
It's pretty light. It's not light. All right. I don't know. It's pretty light. It's pretty light.
Like not when you think of a stateline.
Think of a normal sharpening.
That's really light.
Think of a plastic one.
That's very light light.
It's very light.
It's very light.
But the great thing about the Hoval is it's a 90 grams solid block.
Be careful. Be careful, you better be careful.
Because last time we purchased, so you purchased two of something just because it was heavier
than you'd think it was.
I reckon we're in excitingly the same territory here.
That's two sneakers.
Are you telling me you think a sharpener weighs two sneakers?
You're only a mind.
Do I think you've turned your handshark?
I think you've turned your handshark. I think you've turned your handshark. out in a ways, two sneakers? You're already in mind. Do you think of 10 sharpness jack?
I think you've 10 sharpness jack.
Hey, we just on the hundred.
Yeah.
And we're asked people to grab the most expensive thing
in their house.
And someone else had a mesmerizing coppers via
a big wooden believe another one had been sold.
Maybe they're out there and people
are continuing mesmerizing.
So listen. I believe another one would be sold. No, they're out there and people are continuing to miss their eyes. So this is, it's a 90 gram block of solid machined brass.
Brass this time.
So we're not falling for the old copper scam anymore.
This is brass baby.
And it's highly poached.
This is a direct quote from the ad.
And again, I don't think they'd be putting on the ad
if they didn't mean it.
It is an extremely rewarding sharpening experience.
Oh wow.
Wow.
I love it.
At 90 grams of solid brass, that is a beautiful, that's the pencil sharpening experience that
I'm after.
But if people follow Jeremy Irvine, our favorite human actor. They know that he's stylish.
He also builds stuff in his hair.
GQ from cover guy.
Kind of guy.
That's why I'm loving getting his ads.
Yeah.
I know.
He's sent it to me and I want the algorithm
to think on more of that.
I'm just not sure that what you do with this.
You know, he can, he can, he can, he can,
he can stack and sit in his house and everyone goes,
oh, that's Jeremy Irvine. That sits in your house and people goes, oh, that's Jeremy Irvine.
That sits in your house and people go,
what is that?
What are you doing?
No, no, no, no, people will be like,
geez, you got yourself a hovel.
You do?
I'd say, oh, yeah, you know, that's unbeen.
I think it's time I get to a certain age
where you're willing to treat yourself for,
you know, for your sharpening experience.
Just for my grasp and ship.
I don't know.
I think of putting a little bungalow out the back
and I'd like to sketch a few designs.
Yeah, well, you're obviously serious about it
because you've gone and got a ho.
You know, how you gonna get, how much?
I doesn't say.
But again, that's everyone's world, that's everyone's world.
But he, you know. He lives a life.
If it's under 100 US, should we get it?
No.
No, we haven't even got out of pepper.
Well, you want to spend more than that, Jacob.
I've Googled, is copper or brass more expensive?
And it goes copper, most expensive bronze than brass.
Right.
So it's the least expensive metal.
Right.
It might be tougher than copper though,
and it might be shiny out.
I'm not taking anything away from copper.
That's a wonderful metal.
Mm.
Mm.
We still don't have the peppercarrons.
Yeah, they're coming.
Well, I just don't think we should be spending any more money
or anything until we collect that inventory
that we've got out of it.
The hovel though. I know that you can't, because we're separated by distance here, be spending any more money, anything until we collect our inventory that we've got out of it.
The hovel, though.
I know that you can't, because we're separated by distance here, you can't quite
see the excitement people have.
Because, do they tell you, you can rub the sharpener on the pencil, that's why I made
a do it, and it shapes it off.
Or you hold the sharpener flat and you rub the pencil back and forth over the sharpener.
Sort of a multi-rub setup.
So one is rubbing the pencil on the sharpener, the other is rubbing the sharpener on the pencil back and forth over the sharpener. Sort of a multi-rub setup. So one is rubbing the pencil on the sharpener,
the other is rubbing the sharpener on the pencil.
And you don't get to do that with a staidlar, but jackal.
Well, you can turn the staidlar or you can turn the pencil.
It's going up.
It's going up.
But you look like a beauty.
So you have to move with that. He's sitting.
He's nods, turning this guy down.
Kick this guy out of graphics class.
We don't take sharpening turners in here mate.
You turn the pencil, you're holding sharpness.
Oh, there's the professor.
What's he got?
Oh, over, over.
He's been here for years.
90 grams. 90 grams.
90 grams, the weight of two stickers for a sharpener.
It's a no for me.
Okay.
There's a new, okay, I guess there's a titanium pencil out there.
If we're not interested in sharpening, have you seen that one, Jack?
No.
The ad starts with, it's not cheap.
We could make it cheap, but then it wouldn't be a modern fuel pencil.
HAME
We love all the podcast listeners, and particularly our valued and important ones that go to HamishNenny.com and fill out a form detailing,
a couple of questions including their special skills,
something that they're elite at,
something that people might not know about them
or it's so specific that they're not getting
the proper recognition they deserve.
We're the place.
And this is the forum where we will elevate you
to the level that you deserve to be celebrated
at.
Jackson did exactly that and joins us now.
Or do you, Jackson?
Oh, boy, boy.
Jackson, you came in pretty confident.
Do you want to tell everybody what you wrote into the show?
I'm pretty sure I wrote that I could tell you any player in the NBA, which team they play
for.
Yeah.
You even said even double contracted players.
Indeed.
What does that mean?
It's kind of just like the guys that aren't quite on the team, but are on the team at the
same time.
Right.
Like Andy with the Melbourne stars.
Exactly.
I think it gets to where the uniform is.
Yeah, but he's not allowed to bat. Exactly.
I feel he annoying to have him around, I think.
No, contract.
I've got a very good and amazing job
hydrating the team.
Yeah, he probably doesn't have full player rights.
Yeah, sure.
Well, last season, I think there's 529 registered players
that he's changed constantly.
This is the NBA.
Yeah, the top of our head.
It's right across 30 teams.
The difficult thing for you, my friend, is they're constantly being traded, loaned out,
et cetera.
So you've got to keep up with every single player, and there's new people coming in all the time.
And they do it.
They do it mid season, don't they?
Like, it's not just one draft.
Are they players changing in all the time. And they do, they do it mid season, don't they? Like, it's not just one draft. Are they, are players changing around all the time?
Well, at the moment, it's probably the most in flux
because it's the start of training camp.
So every time usually I was about 10 extra players.
This is what's gotta make it difficult for Jackson.
But how closely do you follow Jackson?
I mean, you get newsletters and stuff and updates.
Listen to stuff every other day,
raid stuff every now and again,
but what, that's
about it. What are you doing the day off? No, holy shit. What are you doing? What are you
doing? You're not as much player info you can on your day off when you're on there.
Like a trash compactor. You can't just keep squashing it in I'll let it shoot it up. Then when it's those shoot is clear put more in Jackson
We're gonna have five players that we've selected for you
You have to tell us what team they play for in the NBA the deal terms which we normally discuss for you to win a coin
We've actually outlined in your opener. We have, it's a long one.
We're ready, Hedge Action.
How do you feel?
We are going to give you play your names.
No, we haven't picked LeBron James.
It's hard to Hedge Action, but here's the deal.
You must guess the team correctly.
Five from five, the coin is yours to see.
We're ready here, Jackson. How do you feel? How do you feel, Jackson? Ready to go.
Okay, let's see. Jackson, five from five in Tardas you just to a one coin coin
Obviously, there's a lot of people that are very into sports So these are the ones that you need to get a honey raise the bar, don't we?
We do raise the bar and and you've got the names you've done the research my have
Let's start with Brandon
Ingram
He's on the pelican in New Orleans pelicans. He is correct
He's on the pelican. In your lane's pelicans, he is correct.
He's a pelican.
He's a pelican.
He's a pelican.
We got this checked.
Do you have a really, I made of yours, Jack's very into MBA.
He said that was an easy one to be fair, Jackson, so they get harder.
Yeah, but that's not a good thing.
Okay, second, did you think for a second this is going to be a walk in the park?
No, no, I've been there.
You've heard enough of these.
Second name, hopefully I pronounced correctly.
Malcolm,
Bogdan.
He's on the paces.
He's in Indiana Paces.
He's at the training camp right now.
That's my sports podcast. That's the correct.
Wow, okay.
Good.
He's good. This is good.
This is good.
Bird up.
Aaron Nesmith.
Er, he's on the Celtics.
Boston Celtics.
And this is the speed I like to hear in these things because, yes.
I'm definitely sitting.
And you have to think, yes, you could have a 530 person spreadsheet.
But my God, you'd be good.
You'd be good finding it on that.
Yep, that's it.
Okay, fourth.
And then we get real close to this coin.
Dylan, winder down.
He's on the cab.
He's on the cabs, and I didn't even pre-enhanced his name right.
I think it's wind, wind, wind, wind, wind, wind. He's on the cabs. didn't even forget his name right it is
Sheep is has dealing with as he played at all
No, I think he broke his back last year actually
Okay, I don't think we picked a guy who hasn't it's that place on. Yeah, I think we're wishing the best.
Wow, okay, it comes down to this.
It's down to this.
And, Anne.
Anne got the bonus question.
Correct.
Are you excited to see him play?
Again, I hope I get the name right.
But final name, we have very little success on this show,
especially to give Joe the Brink the Tipping Away coin.
This is huge.
CJ LB.
He's on the blazers.
Paul and Charlie.
He's gone.
He's gone.
He's gone.
And I know you!
He hasn't played either!
Is he just not in because of his hair?
He does have a gigafra!
And what are we talking about at the trial
as he on the training camp right now?
What's CJ up to?
I think he's a rookie.
I'm excited to see him.
Definitely.
Which is also interesting.
He's got started again.
Interesting inside and to, you know, which players you're excited to see play.
Well done.
Thank you very much Jackson. You've got yourself a coin.
Amazing. Well, that's worth it.
That's worth a coin.
That's worth a coin.
The speed is phenomenal. Appreciate it boys, thanks for that.
Hey, time for another one of these.
Are you slithing, Slithy?
A lot of people have been writing in and I appreciate them.
It must be similar to when you were backbying things wide open.
Still am.
I'm like in a big, big case in the moment.
OK, yeah, sure.
That's why unfortunately quite a lot of case files are parling up.
And I tell the captain,
mate, give me more man.
And he screams at me, the city halls given in budget cuts.
I won't bother you with it.
Well, it's an ongoing one with the Hell Star ratings,
isn't it?
That is true.
It's quite working away on our Pulitzer.
Thank you for the people that have said them in.
Often I write back and saying,
sorry, there's just not enough to prosecute
because you can't say it's the vibe of a song.
It's going to be,
people go, look, check out the vibe of this one.
It sounds like, you know, it could be an edge here and says, go, look, check out the vibe of this one. It sounds
like, you know, it could be an edge here in some sense. But Ed did some good stuff that was
popular. So people are either going to mimic it or he was inspired by things that vibe.
The influencing is not, not favorite. I guys want to do this one a bit differently. I want
to play you a song. And you guys tell me what it is. I think you'll recognize it.
song. You guys tell me what it is. I think you'll recognize it.
Yep.
Jack knows.
Oh, that's baby, baby, baby. Is that that right? Road traders. Road traders, voodoo child. Yep, great. I didn't know the actual name of the song,
but I'm sure I've seen it on an ad. Yes, what? Network 10 promo.
Guess what? What? That is not Rogue Traders' Voodoo Show.
Don't tell me someone's ripped off the traders.
Yes.
Now, I don't know whether the traders have traded it.
Like, I don't know what they do there.
I know for unorthodoxy, you're quite Rogue.
So, quite Rogue swaps.
I'm not sure if they went to a dark car park and hand it over.
That's the kind of way they tried.
Because the way they tried.
The best was in the road trailer.
She would often come into meetings, I think, and they would go,
she'd go, where's the couch?
And why do we have all these beans?
And the bassist would often go,
I saw an opportunity and I took it.
It's just, you're not allowed to make these rogue trades.
That's who we are.
Where's my drumstick?
Well, we have a hundred sure-ups.
That's not what I want.
I see, I'm not sure whether they met in a dark alley
with Olivia Rodrigo, who is a very famous singer.
Yeah.
Actually, she's got a lot of hits out at the moment.
This is one of her most recent ones.
Yeah, great.
That's going around the moment.
Anyway, so we don't normally prosecute fledgling artists, but she's so massive now.
I think she's had nearly a billion listens to one of her songs on Spotify.
So that wasn't Rogue Traders what we heard.
This is Rogue Traders.
So if we go back to, yeah, that's where, you know, that bass would have come in with baby
baby. If we go back to Olivia, this is how they change it up when they come
with their lyrics
I'm so insecure I think that I'll die before I drink and I'm so caught up in the
news who likes me and who hates you so it's called brutal the song it's just
kind of doing the rounds and radio at the moment.
It's singing. Dinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn So, rare for me to eat a lot of the candy drummers. You know the deal.
And my feelings have never let us down.
An emotional drummer.
An emotive drummer.
So, that's eight chords, right?
Dan and Dan.
I'm just trying to see if any of the same.
You're the, you know, you guys are guitar, right?
Yes.
Well, that's exactly the same pitch.
You can, I, I hear from you, the Haymon, is slightly slow.
I felt that they slowed it down. I didn't count that it is slightly slower. I felt that they slowed it down, I didn't count it.
Counts that they slowed it down, I felt that they slowed it down.
With LL Song's loose, it goes to the lab.
And this is, we haven't even adjusted the timing at all.
So you'll hear the difference between the slower and the faster one.
But there's no pitch adjustment.
This is it going one for one. MUSIC
Pretty nice.
Yeah, it's really close.
I mean,
marching a lot.
We obviously know that the road traders were first to market.
Yes.
With this.
Have we seen?
Was Cam another one of the guys in the road try to see if we can.
Yeah cam, great. Amazing memory. You know I never forget a face or a name.
Have we seen cam you know with a lot of something lately like are we seeing him
with a hundred sofas or something. As he been trading, that's he trading. Do we see him with a lot of barrels of crude?
Yeah.
Oil.
Is he sort of seen a gap in the market and gone, I'll take that trade.
The other thing that I want to play this because Marshy went the extra level here.
He has managed to isolate the rogue traders audio like vocal over a livea Rodrigo instrumental and vice versa.
This is my favourite bit when ando knows he's got someone guilty. It's like watching the
prosecution sum up for two hours. Really enjoying, uh, really enjoying our Stringy Mac. Hmm. Interesting that you said that you are in a pick me
for that day. When we have CCTV that someone looks a heck of a lot like you entering the
bank full. I mean not a spooker.
Say, for jury, it's just nodding along.
It's a banger that he's made, but it's...
Yeah.
Or is it?
It's a banger.
It's a banger.
It's a banger.
It's a banger.
It's a banger.
It's a banger.
It's a banger.
It's a banger.
It's a banger.
It's a banger.
It's a banger.
It's a banger.
It's a banger.
It's a banger.
It's a banger. It's a banger. It's a banger. It a spooker. It's a jury.
It's just nodding along.
It's a banger that he's made, but it's...
Yeah.
Or is it...
Is it that a banger here or the clang of the jail cell?
Slabbing shut behind Olivia.
So, Olivia, going to give you a warning
because you're young and good like with your career?
Yeah, no. Some of you would love your other songs. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Ando, there's one issue we...
Well, we're not trying to put it to bed, but...
I would say, I think I know what you're talking about. Yeah. Well, it's more of a... It's kind of like, this is our one shot at a... A scoop. We don't have ports as an Australia. We have P bodies.
What do we have?
What's the jack watch the journalist award?
A walkie?
Walkie.
Walkie's.
I think P bodies also America.
Yeah.
This is our shot at a walkie.
Easily.
Easily.
Usually it goes to a walkie.
We are all walking.
Start of a walkie.
I reckon we get this job.
It's ours to lose.
It's ours to lose.
It's ours to lose.
It's almost a runny world here.
We've gone so deep on something that we keep.
You know you're under something
when you're an investigative journalist,
when you get a bit of like,
look, look, it's all fine.
Appreciate your inquiry, but let it go.
And then push back.
And when you go to the official body of it
and they don't want to come on,
that's when you know you're under the same thing.
Well, of course talking about the health star ratings
on some food, It's all started
about a year ago when somebody that's trying to make health conscious decisions when they
shot both for myself and more so for the children, because you do owe a very, very double
policy on nutrition when you're a, you're a parent, um, want a bit bit of, well, bacon's okay for daddy, but guys, we do try and limit
our bacon. You know, you get drawn to the health stars, which you assume we're invented
as some sort of scientific way of going. Five stars, very healthy, no stars, very bad,
but we, however, the more you dig into the health stars, the more you're more like, how are they
making these happen?
A friend of mine texted me during the week to say as someone who values his health, he's
going to drop down a bag of salted beenuts from Nobby's, because it has a four and a half
star health rating.
I mean, half off.
Half off.
Half off.
Perfect.
You would assume.
I mean, you assume, you half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, half, in the health stats. Yeah, there you go back and check the photo. Oh, kale just got him on the bob.
So you just didn't get any.
How is this possible?
Meanwhile, poor old Salah cream, not the devil in my opinion.
No.
Part of a well-balanced diet, poor old Salah cream
is languishing at half a star.
Half a star.
Maybe that's why it's called Salah cream.
Just really down that.
Salah was cream.
Yeah.
Which is also. Every right to be. So it was crazy. So it was crazy. So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy.
So it was crazy. So it was crazy. So it was crazy. So it was crazy. So it was crazy. on the stars, how do you not? It was a rumor that came up that the, because you know, why would you nominate yourself? Because you also can choose not to play.
Why would you nominate yourself
if you're only a half style?
You know, you're a comedian that got a half a star
with you, you just wouldn't put it on the poster.
It's not a good ad, it's not a good ad.
So, you know, it goes around and around,
we kind of go, you know, the official people,
I think their line to us was like, oh look, you know,
we can't tell you how we do it,
but rest assured it's all fine.
Because there's something like that. Something like that. Yeah. So we're like, oh, look, you know, we can't tell you how we do it, but rest assured it's all fine. Something like that. Something like that. So we're like, I'm like, I'm never evolving.
It's different. We wouldn't want to bore you. You don't want to bore you with the
information now that is untrue in a week's time. Yeah. Okay. Then I get an email from Marcus.
Just when I think, okay, we've exhausted all the leads here. And I'll be honest, at some points in this journey, I go, look, are we being harsh with the health star people?
Are we being harsh for noticing that crinkle cut chips are for and a half star, but beer cut,
same beer-battered pub style, same fry, just not crinkle cut is a four star. Are we,
is there something we don't know about the shape of the cut that makes the chip healthier?
Is there something we don't know about the shape of the cut that makes the chip healthier?
You know, maybe this isn't just arrogance for not chips are in the forester category by across the board confused just how would the fact that then they're not the general of health
but they're all a tenant kernel. Marcus writes and he goes looks like the plot thickens when it comes
to star ratings. When you it would. Marcus has seen with his own two eyes, something phenomenal. He joins us now,
a Hoi Marcus. A Hoi boy. How you going? Yeah, good. And thank you for standing by us. We thought
we'd try and get you quickly, but, you know, obviously it's a passionate issue, so sometimes it goes
on tendons. Some hours later, after you were put on hold. Marcus, we really appreciate what you've
seen and what you've come to the show with. It's still a pain inside of the fence. Yeah, what you tell Andy what you've seen.
Yeah, sure.
So we went away for the weekend with a group of friends, did a big group shop group order.
Got all the basics, got some some cereal for the weekend and came back home and took a
lot of the leftover food with us. Went to the pantry next day for breakfast,
two identical packets and some time of bread.
One with a four and a half, the health star
ready the other with three and a half stars.
Oh!
Oh!
Same product, same product.
A whole star differential.
Yeah, couldn't quite...
Same size box, I mean, I know it shouldn't matter,
but same size box. Ask, ask, ask. So there't quite say. Size box. I mean, I know it shouldn't matter, but same size box.
I asked ask ask.
So there's a difference in the box.
One is 1.25 kilos.
The other one was 730 grams.
I mean, but it should not matter.
No, no one's assuming you're eating the whole box.
It's cereal.
Exactly.
So what else?
I mean, were they both from this year like, I mean, there is no variant
of saltana brand. So like you can have saltana brand light or lower sugar or now with less juicy
saltanas to reduce the sugar content. Yeah, well, I thought it could have been potentially,
you know, a different type of brand, different type of saltana, more raisins. But no, the ingredients on the back are identical,
all the nutritional information, identical. So like sugars, killer jewels, all of that
stuff per 100 grams is like the exact same. Exactly the same. And even on the, with the
hell star rating, so give the you the categories next to the hell star, whether it gives you
like energy, the saturated fats, your music, etc. All identical.
Big set of stars.
So what unbelievable.
Is there a packet that is like significantly older than the other?
No, the both would have been purchased in the last month.
So going back to the weekend away, Jack does.
Jack's going over there and all.
I was thinking one was a year old. Yeah. Yeah, no, no, no.
All I could come from America or something, but I'm just trying to get my facts straight
here. So one was purchased on the weekend away in the group scenario and you bought that
one back to the house and that's to your regular house. That's how you ended up with two
boxes to compare. Can we ask, where you live Marcus and where was the weekend away?
How far away?
Well, I'm in Brisbane, the weekend away. I was up in New South, so a couple of hours.
So, sunshine coasts to Brisbane? Yeah, no, it's not me. Not talking.
Yeah, he didn't go into a whole different country or something. No, I mean, that's the
fascinating thing here. So, within that, somehow, what the health stars are getting mixed up. I mean, Marcus, just quickly, a couple
of you prefer for your own health to consume salt, butter bread in noosa or in Brisbane.
Where's it? Health, theater, we total. That's true. Where was the foreign half? Where was
the three and a half? The four and a half is away. Oh, three? Three and a half is at home.
Interesting.
Maybe it takes until you're state of mind, you're all right.
Oh, oh, you're out right now.
You're walking, you surfing, you're looser.
You know, we assume, I mean, the cereal's not healthy,
but we assume you're living a healthy life.
And that will counteract some of the sugars.
It's possible. I've got another
theory here and I don't want to generalise here that that's what theories do. So bad luck.
So you got an older population in noose of retirees and whatnot and they're much more health
conscious. You know you really try and you're starting to really knuckle down and go okay no more
messing around the next 20 count you, the next 20 years count.
And so if you're Kellogg's or whoever's putting the star on,
you make it seem healthier on the Sunshine Coast.
But you don't know, why don't you see me healthier everywhere?
No, you get in Brisbane, you go, you know,
because you know you're lying,
you're taking a risk, like I say, it really is a three and a half.
So if you had to fudge it anywhere,
you'd fudge it out on the sunshine coast,
then back in prison, go look younger population,
a bit more caution of the wind,
happy to take a few risks with the body,
three and a half will do for them.
Because you know you're gonna audit it in the bigger cities.
Yeah.
You can always point to that to go,
we're telling the truth.
Another conspiracy theory.
What's your conspiracy theory, Mark?
So I just had a look at the packets, and one thing I've noticed on the four and a half star rating packet. I've just noticed on the front it does have a sticker saying it's proud, it's proud supporters of hockey Australia.
On the healthier one, it's got the sponsorship. Guys, they're the top.
And I have helped out.
I'm not going to have to do it.
This is your sole tone of play.
You're in the Caleb.
I've felt out about our major sponsor of hockey Australia.
You're deeply in the sand.
They couldn't believe they got a total of round.
Just make sure Andy doesn't hang up on Marcus.
Now we don't know who to trust.
I have to recuse as a way to say it.
Yes, you can.
Because to recuse, I'm so curious,
but both the Elves are prosecuted.
Bunt are hockey Australia ambassador.
Marcus, it's a very interesting theory, of course.
We're not accusing anyone of anything,
but an interesting theory that you bring up to,
it's almost as if the conversation has happened
where hockey Australia has said,
look, we'd love to have you on board,
but we can't have our logo next to three and a half stars.
I mean, we're a five-star outfit, ideally, four and a half minimum.
And then, and then, Sultana Brand said,
give us two days and you have a million new boxes.
We'll get an answer about a hockey Australia I reckon. Interesting on that. So he's
he's there's two things that are happening here. I've got down at the factory where they're putting
the the the hell star rating on. They're either down there just making it up. Spray
anamon with a machine gun. Willy-Nenilly, summer one, summer five, summer 10,
summer nothing, they just spray them on.
You're not really looking at the stars.
That's happened.
Human error, I suppose we have to allow,
we give a nod to, perhaps it was a human mistake.
Or the health star people are so good
that they're individually looking inside the boxes and going.
This one has a ton of salt harness in it.
We know that's where all the sugar
is. I just can't in good conscience put a four and a half on this, which it usually is.
Unfortunately for this box is abnormally high salt harna contents. For this box and this
box alone, I'm going to have to three and a half. And then the next one, yep, that's more
like it, four and a half, four and a half, maybe just, and you just unluckily happen, Marcus, to get one of the boxes in Brisbane hand-labeled
as having too many saltanas and reducing its nutritional value.
I mean, is that possible?
It is, but it's definitely possible. It's hugely inefficient.
It's definitely possible. Marcus, thank you very much for joining us.
Last question, on that theory, Marcus, when you look inside the boxes, do they seem to have
the same amount of saltana density?
Oh, yes. So do appear to be identical from a number of saltanas. I'm looking at the top
of the box and you know, with saltana, they clickery fall to the bottom.
I bet. Yeah, that's from the top down view. It was pretty similar.
I should do that actually in saltana, but I'm basing this purely. I think I'm right here.
Pure of the fact that the saltanas are the high sugar bit, right?
Because we all like, you know, you want to spoon for with two or four salt-towners.
You don't want to just the brands.
Well, I'm using the brand, isn't the brand, the brand, the good bit, right?
So the Salt Towners are your treat in Salt Town and Brandy.
Do we ever see a world where they sort of have a sliding scale down the box to go, by
the time you get to the bottom here, it.
