Starting point is 00:00:00 I'm no astrophysicist, but I'm gonna go on record and say, just like The Inconvenient Truth, this is the most scientifically accurate film ever made. We saw GeoStorm, so you know what that means. This guy is hard. Jimmy! If sportsa nigga grow baby in this belly. Rock a brownstone vest while whipping Justin the Kelly.
Starting point is 00:00:29 Maybe see a burlesque show with Nick Ro. Just a sucker, punch the odd, life of Timothy Green Sharp needle, the bird, Demik, how we stayin' alive? They call it in the badass and he's on the line Crankin' 88 minutes, cause they cool his eyes Cause a bagged gym, Barney lookin' kind of nice Paul and Drew gettin' literal, Jason is gettin' laid June is makin' sure all the monkey shots gettin' paid
Starting point is 00:00:59 They judge a bunch of movies while they makin' the grade Here's a real question for you, how did this get made? Hello, people of Earth and hello, people of Largo We are live here in Los Angeles for a very special How Did This Get Made? All-Star Edition We have a great show tonight We are talking about the movie Geostorm And I can't do that without my co-host Jason Manzucas
Starting point is 00:01:28 Yes! Welcome, welcome Jason What's up, what's up jerks? How we doin'? Jason, I'm doing- I'm usually closer to the piano Do you want- you can move your chair Oh no, this is not gonna end well
Starting point is 00:01:51 Uh, I gotta say, Gerard Butler Killing it baby! Love it! Unstoppable! I'm here to say, at a certain point, I stopped taking notes Cause I was like, I love this movie I love Geostorm! Geostorm! There was a moment in the beginning of this movie
Starting point is 00:02:17 Where I was like, oh, I thought it would be crazier And then 45 minute sets and then you're like, oh fuck, there it goes And it doesn't let up I kept being like, when's Toby Ziegler coming back? Spoiler alert, never to be seen again Senator Toby Ziegler This is, uh, it's a great movie, especially- Geostorm!
Starting point is 00:02:43 I would like for that to become a thing I would like for people to just start screaming Geostorm in public And then not answering questions as to why you did it I feel like the proper response would be to yell that kumite I feel like that would be the call and response Perhaps, or Hurricane Heist We're coming for you, Hurricane Heist We see what you're up to, we're coming for you
Starting point is 00:03:09 It is coming to this podcast Unfortunately it was not in theaters long enough for us to coordinate a podcast recording But don't worry, it'll be in the iTunes store soon enough We are very excited to bring, I think, one of our favorite people on the show Speak for yourself She is someone who hates a trash can fire She hates movies in the future Please welcome Jessica St. Claire
Starting point is 00:03:48 Welcome Welcome, Jessica Thank you Thank you So exciting to have you here and to put you through this Yep, well, the only thing that makes me more sick than a post-apocalyptic future movie Is one about a natural disaster That takes place in the future
Starting point is 00:04:10 That's right, one year in the future, right? Uh-oh GEO STORM I say GEO, you say STORM, GEO STORM GEO That's great Guys, we're having a great time on a weeknight
Starting point is 00:04:29 Thursday night, bringing it We have a very special guest tonight I've been wanting to have this guy on the show for a very long time You know him from the hit MBC show Superstore He's going to be in the new movie Blockers Coming up, please welcome Colton Dunn GEO STORM GEO STORM
Starting point is 00:04:54 That's right, that's right This is a thing now Yes If you want to tape your friends screaming GEO STORM in public Just tweet it to us at whatever our Twitter is Get those Instagram stories going of just yelling GEO STORM in crowded places Yes, in crowded places and maybe there should be some sort of Like what Colton just did, like go down on one knee or something
Starting point is 00:05:21 Point up to the satellite array Point up to the sky, I think you should have to get higher I think you should, everybody should stand on a chair Point to the sky and scream GEO STORM And then if you have like, if you're with a friend One of you should be on earth and one of you should be in the moon Like so you have a balance So you're the brothers, so you're the brothers
Starting point is 00:05:41 GEO STORM and then someone points at you GEO STORM with a bro GEO STORM and then you're like GEO STORM This is our bababooey I was excited Colton because when I talked to you I said, oh this is the movie we're doing You're like, already seen it So you were already in
Starting point is 00:06:01 In the theaters, you saw it in the theater No, no, I didn't see it in the theater, I wanted to But the timing didn't work out The timing didn't work out I felt like this movie would have been fun in IMAX Like this would be, I mean this is what it's made for I feel like Do men like this movie? Is that what's happening?
Starting point is 00:06:22 Do men like this movie? Are you guys legitimately you like this movie? You like GEO STORM I liked it in the world of what we're forced to watch You fucking liked it, you piece of shit You liked it Here we go You pieces of shit like this movie
Starting point is 00:06:41 Ma'am, by the way You know what else I wanted to see? Some space sex Zero G Zero Giz Zero Giz Zero Giz Zero Giz
Starting point is 00:06:57 Zero Giz Zero Giz Zero Giz Is that what happens by everyone's frozen in the Sahara? Zero Giz It's just like One of my favorite scenes in this movie is It's, you know, it sets up in the beginning
Starting point is 00:07:13 Like there's been all these horrible things The heat wave that killed 2 million people In one day, that seemed suspect It seemed weird, everyone in Madrid was just like Ay, ay, ay Okay, what? Do we have to issue a disclaimer? Just on the floor
Starting point is 00:07:29 I'm so tired We are legit Six minutes into the podcast You are lying on the floor Having possibly committed a hate crime She called me too I'm so tired Guys, I had a long day
Starting point is 00:07:45 I had a long day I had a long day Guys, I had a long day I'm just saying what I feel I'm hashtag authentic tonight So deal with it, right? Ma'am, please stop hashtagging things I like hashtag authentic
Starting point is 00:08:03 Because when you click on that Very specific things related to you come up So, at one point In the movie, people in the desert They're all frozen But this is what the movie is like I think showing all these cool images But all these like this army
Starting point is 00:08:21 Of men come out with guns Pointed at a frozen village As if like Mr. Freeze is there It's like there, like this is like We've already established we're in a world Where crazy natural disasters come But then the team that goes in is like The army like, what the fuck?
Starting point is 00:08:37 We're gonna shoot down They're the UN The militarized UN force With their guns To me like sums up this entire movie It's like That sums it up? Nothing really makes sense
Starting point is 00:08:53 It's a cool image, like they're in town Looking like okay But it was from the sky There was no evil plan We're in a world where crazy shit happens But nothing makes sense Gerard Butler is an astrophysicist That doesn't make sense
Starting point is 00:09:09 How about this? I agree with you, that doesn't make sense That they have the worst Well first of all I thought Gerard had a pretty good accent But the other one Wait, a pretty good which accent? New York
Starting point is 00:09:25 It was Canadian accent Better than his brother Who just watched like Taxi Driver a bunch That was what he was basing But then they had to say we were born in the UK That was fucking crazy One Scottish, once from the UK
Starting point is 00:09:41 And the brother who worked for the State Department Looks like he's 12 He's 38 But he looks like he's 12 years old And get a haircut Yes, I agree You don't have that job With that shaggy a haircut
Starting point is 00:09:57 It was just like a wish I agree Gerard needs to take a shower Nope, I'm all in on Jerry Butler I am all in on him That dudes must be Beautiful I want to smell his neck
Starting point is 00:10:13 By the way I hear you Without him knowing That's right Jerry Butler would be in prime for a cologne I would like a Jerry Butler cologne Jerry Butler cologne Yes
Starting point is 00:10:29 It's called like Butler has fallen By the way, this movie references Jerry Butler movies All the other satellites are named after his movies Like Rock and Roller Is a Gerard Butler movie And there is another one Oh, the Butlerverse?
Starting point is 00:10:47 You're in provost You're talking about the Butlerverse, wait a minute I don't think he's in that movie Nope, that's the other angry guy Who is it, do you think? You know Did he throw a phone at somebody? Russell Crow
Starting point is 00:11:03 You're correct I wish Gerard Butler was in that movie I'd watch that movie again Which one, Gladiator or Perfect Mind? You're in provost I thought it was like a year in Italy A good year A year in provost
Starting point is 00:11:21 Wait, what's a year in provost? That's a book Oh, it's a book? No, no, Diane Lane That's Tuscany That's under the Tuscan sun Conversations getting good That's Tuscany
Starting point is 00:11:37 You don't even know the name of it You said that's Tuscany That's Tuscany And then you did A middle-aged lady dance Like you had nailed it That's the Nancy Meyers Version of that movie
Starting point is 00:11:53 That's Tuscany Everybody's in linen That's the movie I'd like to see Where everybody's wardrobe comes from Cheetos We digress You know that you're in store for a good movie Where the first line of the film is
Starting point is 00:12:13 You have to excuse me I came from outer space You know, it's like, yeah, I'm in I'm already in, you got my money Did you guys feel like his character Was unlikable from the get? Who, you're right, Jerry Yeah, because he comes in
Starting point is 00:12:29 To this, like, commission But they weren't even being That dicky to him He's an hour late, and he's being A real prick about things But in a charming way Can we talk though right before he goes in? Oh, yes
Starting point is 00:12:45 What's that about that monologue? Should I play this scene? The monologue, but I'm talking about that This guy, right? Did everybody write zap in their notes? Oh, this guy, who's playing for real? Yeah, first of all, they're supposed to be in DC At
Starting point is 00:13:01 At a Senate committee And he pulls up to a chase bank They don't even try it Here we go, this is uh You're awesome You're the Dutch boy, right? Man, I need to shake your hand Okay, tornado
Starting point is 00:13:21 Zap, blizzard Zap, monsoon Zap, zap Everybody down here owes you, Jake Lawson If you need anything You just ask Why is he looking down? Oh, yeah
Starting point is 00:13:41 And then he walks into the Senate hearing Adjusting this man's tie That he's just stolen from them Yeah, he takes that guy's tie That's the hole, that's the hole And then late, but the tie, inexplicably So short As if it's a piece of comedy
Starting point is 00:13:57 Or something that later he's walking around with Like a child's tie Yeah, that was a really weird choice He's a scientist, he doesn't know how to do that He only knows how to punch people in the face Like a good scientist does What I don't understand is Why does his brother, his brother's just
Starting point is 00:14:13 Texting him, stop, stop, he does it like 17 times, right? Why doesn't he text him, hey I was named head of this thing I need you to behave, right? Or if I'm gonna fire you That's news he could use Again, there is no reason
Starting point is 00:14:29 For him to be this Confrontational in that opening He doesn't seem like he's on trial It just seems like a normal Test, I don't, it doesn't seem like Well Toby Ziegler is like All upset The Ziegs is bringing it
Starting point is 00:14:45 Yeah, oh, I'm like Can you tell I've just finished All four seasons of West Wing Before Aaron Sorkin leaves After, when Aaron Sorkin leaves West Wing The show is awful You know he never watched it
Starting point is 00:15:01 After he left, I never watched it I did actually watch a couple, and it's garbage Anyway, so Toby Ziegler is here He's the center, and he's like We pay for the ba-ba-ba And it's a fight that is pointless It is a fight that is unnecessary It's a scene that is just meant
Starting point is 00:15:17 To show that this guy This guy doesn't listen to the man This guy plays by his own Fucking rule It's like a shitty fight because You know, we paid for the set I didn't see you up there That's enough turn of phrase
Starting point is 00:15:33 I'm against you as the audience now But then he goes even further He's also like, I don't remember seeing you up there There was a plumber up there Who looked like you Which is like, you know The guy that handles shit That guy
Starting point is 00:15:51 You piece of shit But I'll be honest, I walked out of that being like Fucking Jerry Butler He doesn't give a fucking show to Toby Ziegler What for? I kept thinking about how psyched Toby Ziegler was, that he had all those papers In front of him, because if I was the Ziegs
Starting point is 00:16:07 I wouldn't have studied my lines I would have just printed them out You know what I mean, and he's just looking down Looking like he has business, you know I would love To be cast as Like someone on a senate panel Yes, you could just shuffle those papers
Starting point is 00:16:23 Just with papers and tiny reading glasses Yeah, yeah Again, and I don't even know Why they're there Because they don't even know what the panel is about You don't have any context To anything Isn't it all about that America's taking it back
Starting point is 00:16:39 They want it all out of control Three years are giving it away Three years Oh wait, is there a time jump? Yeah, oh there's a time jump Yes, 2019 Whoa That's how he builds all those cool solar panels on his mobile home
Starting point is 00:16:55 Okay, okay, okay I did not catch that By the way, also just love that he Moved down to, like a lot of things are happening In Orlando in this movie It's like the only city that doesn't really get that much play It's like, they're in Orlando And I got them
Starting point is 00:17:11 Oh, you know All the big Republican And Democratic National Commissions in Orlando In Orlando I didn't know that was Andy Garcia Oh, come on Wait, what is this? What I wrote down
Starting point is 00:17:27 Was equally offensive Colton, not cool Colton, not cool That's rude It's not time for that Who did you think it was? Well, I wrote down, who's playing the president? He's a nice looking Italian
Starting point is 00:17:47 I feel like I genuinely feel like You have the You have the institutional racism Of a grandmother Who's a nice Italian boy Playing the president as if we'd ever Elect an Italian
Starting point is 00:18:07 And that's exactly what I thought to myself I was like, well, that's interesting And then I wrote Quote I want the Italian Meatball hero I think I felt like watching him Wait, you want an Italian
Starting point is 00:18:23 Meatball hero? What's happening? I've also never heard anyone refer to As an Italian Meatball hero Well, watching a movie Andy Garcia, you wrote a note saying Who's playing the president Seems like a nice Italian man
Starting point is 00:18:39 Then you wrote Her own thought So that's dialogue In your notes I could go for an Italian Meatball hero right now Unquote Maybe that's the quote she thought Should be on the poster of the movie
Starting point is 00:18:55 What is going by I don't know guys, it was really tired And then he did a lot of pen acting Which is true, I didn't think Garcia brought it For the first 75 to 89% of this movie He didn't have a lot to do But he also was giving me
Starting point is 00:19:11 Dead eyes, that's why I didn't know it was him When he came to life Is when he said, I'm the goddamn president of the United States I'm like, there's the Garcia we know and love From what? From what? Name One Andy Garcia
Starting point is 00:19:29 Movie I'm going to make this easy Name one Andy Garcia Movie Okay That was a shot in the dark That was a shot in the dark Love it
Starting point is 00:19:45 Casino? Casino? Casino? You should have quit while you were ahead Take your win, that was a big win for you That was a big win Holy shit You are on fire tonight
Starting point is 00:20:01 Also he looks a little bit Romney Doesn't he, in this film? You know, there was someone in that scene That looked like Steve Mnuchin I seem like a... I bought it, of course Wait, how are the extras? I almost bought it
Starting point is 00:20:17 Instead, I rented it three times Oh no That's more than You paid more to do that Where? I have learned from this show That I need to buy it Because I'm never going to watch it in one
Starting point is 00:20:33 Three times Oh, it's not going to downhill Six days you tried to Six days you tried to watch You stole That doesn't bode well for the movie And by the way, if I just owned it I'd watch it all the time
Starting point is 00:20:49 I mean, that's the thing About this movie, like the prestige There's a great second viewing of it You got to see all the... Now that you know the twist You got to see All the subtle stuff at Harris All the foreshadowing
Starting point is 00:21:05 Here's the thing, here's the thing If you want to have Your movie Seem as though the bad guy Is Andy Garcia as the president Yeah Don't cast at Harris The media camera
Starting point is 00:21:21 Moves to Ed Harris I'm like, well, there's the bad guy I disagree I'm going to tell you why I am your average viewer I.e. I'm dumb dumb I'm a dumb dumb I saw Pollock as I was calling
Starting point is 00:21:37 I didn't forgot his name And I said, thank god Pollock in the Italian We're in good hands Let me be clear You're saying Ed Harris from the movie Pollock Right? Is he Polish?
Starting point is 00:21:53 No I just want to make sure You're identifying him for that role And not by his potential Polish origins A Pollock in an Italian Or running the White House What could go wrong?
Starting point is 00:22:09 The minute Ed Harris is there He's the bad guy I thought we're safe with him In fact, I was very upset I've never been seen with Ed Harris Those baby blues I was like, yes This guy is like a father figure
Starting point is 00:22:25 To who? To the Scruffy Air Kid He loves the Scruffy, but by the way I go to your point If you're going to cast or cast doubt on Andy Garcia Let him do something that seems evil He doesn't give you anything He was nothing
Starting point is 00:22:41 But that's not Andy Garcia's fault That's the role What he was doing was pen acting Right Great pen acting, but that wasn't Given You know, he's teaching a master class In pen acting
Starting point is 00:22:57 You got to sign up for it on masterclass.com Guys, I thought you bought that shit Oh, I did He's 180 dollars You buy the whole year-long pass and drop in I was so bored Martin Scorsese Is it good?
Starting point is 00:23:13 Wait, are they sponsored? No, they're not sponsored Well then, fuck you masterclass Masterclass is like It sucks you in because That's of all the different angles What?
Starting point is 00:23:29 They're shooting you from the side, from the front We got Steve Martin for 2 hours, 10 episodes Let's go That doesn't seem worth it It isn't Just 2 seconds of Aaron Sorkin Where he said he never watched anything of season 4
Starting point is 00:23:45 Passed season 4 I like it Did you watch any of these masterclasses? No I can't even find time to see Geostorm in the theater He doesn't have time I think that they are
Starting point is 00:24:01 Yeah, Aaron Sorkins is up and down Here's my question And this is for you guys here on stage But for you guys in the audience as well I have seen the entire movie I'm still not sure The fiance isn't part of
Starting point is 00:24:17 the scheme Yes, she seemed evil She seemed suspicious Yes The whole movie Yes, I never really I never trusted her I never let myself love her because I thought
Starting point is 00:24:33 I thought she was going to get killed I thought she was going to turn on us I thought she was going to be working for Ed Harris And I thought he was going to maybe end up with the one who was hacking in The chemistry was there with him She's cute, right?
Starting point is 00:24:49 She's from Atlanta and she's also in Deadpool I was into her, but anyway That was a surprise The interesting thing about this movie too is to jump to the end and spoil her But when Gerard Butler saves the day She's the first one that approaches him and goes
Starting point is 00:25:05 I'm his Not the time for that She says that three times To Gerard Butler Yeah, okay, fine, that's my brother That's the president, why are you It's not like, they play that moment like John McLean and Al Powell
Starting point is 00:25:21 and Dyer, it's like Hey, they're finally face to face They never had any communication He doesn't know her Nobody cares Everybody in this movie has multiple near-death experiences
Starting point is 00:25:37 that they are unfazed by They are It happens and then it's over and it is literally as if it never happened They are cool as a cucumber Jump back in and quip their way
Starting point is 00:25:53 through the next scene I will argue that's when they see friends of theirs die in front of them Port, what's his name? Oh, who? Describe him Imagine though how horrible it was to act in this movie because most of your scenes
Starting point is 00:26:13 are just to a camera Because it's like How great is it to watch two grown men crying over a video conference at each other That's not good writing Aaron Sorkin would tell us that And he will
Starting point is 00:26:29 be in your master class How come nobody knows who Gerard Butler is He built this whole thing We know who Elon Musk is He would be on that level, he would definitely be on the cover of
Starting point is 00:26:47 magazine Jake Lawson? I don't know, who cares He's so disrespectful to him The most famous dude The whole team is like Oh, another American? Who cares? This guy is a piece of shit
Starting point is 00:27:03 And it's like, he's Jake Lawson Jake Lawson? Like the... Don't you know what he looks like? By the way Is this a joke? I'm asking this in a way that I'm going to play at this scene I didn't think it was a joke, but I don't want to
Starting point is 00:27:19 fuck it up either So in this scene Is this a joke? I played for a joke Here it is You look much older than I would have thought I mean, you look good
Starting point is 00:27:35 but your physical appearance does not match the amount of time it has elapsed in your life I think you might have improvised that in the dead It's a faux pas that you would never make, you wouldn't go
Starting point is 00:27:51 you look older for years, right? And he looks exactly the same He's also someone who's not old So does that mean for that guy, he thought like a 20 year old invented Dutch boy? Is he thinking like
Starting point is 00:28:07 I always pictured the guy that built all of this as a teenager And again, I'm a person who works on this spaceship that this man built and I have no idea what he looks like We saw him He looks the same
Starting point is 00:28:23 We're talking about the difference between 45 and 48, that's really what this whole movie is covering Which is nothing Totally the same ages basically I just felt like that was a moment where they're like
Starting point is 00:28:39 they're so reaching for comedy, like it's like he really put his foot in his mouth You look older But then we'll cut to one of the other people being like Oh boy, here we go I felt like somebody did
Starting point is 00:28:57 a last minute pass on the script Well, you're smart Because I will tell you I heard that on this podcast And the last It feels like these monologues were put in because someone's like you know what, we gotta humanize these characters
Starting point is 00:29:13 Let's put in, let's bring in you know, Eve Ensler with the vagina monologues to like give us some monologues You did punch up on this I'll bring in Well, I love this Eve Ensler, but if it's an action movie
Starting point is 00:29:29 you bring in Jerry Brockheimer which is exactly what they did They brought in Jerry Brockheimer after the movie tested so badly and they spent $15 million on two weeks of reshoots to make the movie kind of
Starting point is 00:29:45 and it wasn't even directed by the same guy Wait, Dean Devlin Oh, sorry, go ahead Did he also make the other natural disaster movie? He produced Independence Day and the day after tomorrow The day after tomorrow, that's one of you The one where like ice is
Starting point is 00:30:01 freezing up, his whole thing is that's where the city freezes Oh yeah, burns the books in the public library But yeah, that's the part you remember And then just to put it in perspective, this movie started shooting in July of
Starting point is 00:30:17 2014 and finished shooting in February of 2015 It's a long time So what did Jerry do to the script? Was he the one who was like brought in to be like let's talk about their dead parents
Starting point is 00:30:33 Is that what he would You think Jerry like gave I'm trying to figure out what were the reshoots Do we know what they added to it? No, they don't say specifically I would imagine it's most of the movie Like
Starting point is 00:30:49 Like Like 15 million dollars for two weeks Okay, you're in the car Run over to the set, now we're shooting this It's like they're shooting I think it's a lot of the disaster stuff though I do think it's like the big disaster scenes
Starting point is 00:31:07 Hong Kong, Tokyo I'm getting that thing when he's in the space when he's in the the space pack and he's like his body takes such abuse when his jet rocket goes off That made me laugh so hard
Starting point is 00:31:23 It's been terrible when you see someone fall and you laugh by accident you don't mean to but that made me go fall I mean he was fucking right he was like grinding on his own head he was like the trench run
Starting point is 00:31:39 from Star Wars but with Gerard Butler his body He would not have survived any of the movie But not being in charge of your own jet pack like that's funny to me Okay
Starting point is 00:31:57 There's a big sex under it, we're good They most likely probably added in the ending where they just took gravity They just took the movie gravity and were like let's do gravity at the end of our movie The fact that Uta stayed is like
Starting point is 00:32:23 I told you I lived here But not only did she stay she kept her presence a secret until there was a good review She was in the corner of that room waiting for him to float in
Starting point is 00:32:39 He'll never pick the right door He'll never pick the right door That's such a crazy He'll never pick the right door so I'll wait here so when he does it It was so funny that sort of like neat cute little scene they had is happening
Starting point is 00:32:55 while the entire place is exploding We don't have time for anything We don't have time We have to call things back But you want there to be time for her to get a haircut A little off the ends I don't know
Starting point is 00:33:11 Somebody told her to take that hair down a quarter of the way She also was like oh you know what and maybe I should get in a space suit in case this whole thing implodes first in a zero G situation A zero G situation What I really like about the movie
Starting point is 00:33:27 and we're probably glossing over it is I like the genuine mystery Who killed Mac Moog? They got it figured out so they sent up the astrophysicist to do some investigative That's really the premise of the movie is someone killed someone up there
Starting point is 00:33:43 you gotta solve the crime When Gerard in that scene you just kind of showed a little bit of when Gerard Butler gets there he is suddenly somehow in charge of all of the things happening at the base He's in charge of both the anomalous
Starting point is 00:33:59 event that happened in Afghanistan He's in charge of the man who is the murder that happened where the man was ejected on the space station and there's another third thing that he's also somehow in charge of Jared Kushner's situation over here
Starting point is 00:34:19 I would love it Gerard Kushner That's a movie I would see Gerard Butler is Jared Kushner It's another... Jared Kushner's cool man
Starting point is 00:34:35 In the Trump White House has fallen He's a tough guy Oh my goodness By the way, they have a lot of guns in that fucking spaceship It's like you would think there would be some sort of vetting process
Starting point is 00:34:53 Hey, maybe we don't need to bring guns up there and they would have a scanning system but everyone's got guns They got guns like underneath tables like fucking mobsters Too many guns I thought that the guy who's in charge of security
Starting point is 00:35:09 who you think is the bad guy at first I thought that he and the secret service guy were the same person Don't they look similar? They have a similar look, I can see that I was very confused Also, the secret service guy
Starting point is 00:35:25 didn't speak for a large portion of the movie so you never heard his voice to differentiate them but I get that He also looked like Mr. Bean, I thought I agree I wrote that down, I thought he looked like ahhh I also thought he looked like Mr. Bean
Starting point is 00:35:41 That's awesome How much better would this movie have been? Because the backup Mr. Bean would just like float through ahhh Mr. Bean Mr. Bean He's trying to put in codes
Starting point is 00:35:59 he's like It's the other door Mr. Bean That's your next movie That's the perfect That's the wrong door Mr. Bean It is the perfect Mr. Bean
Starting point is 00:36:15 scenario that's in this movie already This movie is Oh my god, I want them to make this with Mr. Bean Oh my god Start a petition nerds Geostorm 2 is Rowan Atkinson
Starting point is 00:36:33 and Gerard Butler I thought Geostorm was a good name for this movie but there's another movie there's another name that called out to me maybe you'll see what I mean, here we go Dutch Boy Dutch Boy
Starting point is 00:36:51 Dutch Boy Dutch Boy Dutch Boy Dutch Boy Dutch Boy Dutch Boy Dutch Boy Dutch Boy
Starting point is 00:37:07 Nice Dutch Boy is said a lot in this movie What a silly thing A big problem I have with the title of this movie is that it's also the title of a shitty car I don't know of anybody out there
Starting point is 00:37:25 The Geostorm It is a legit car that existed Since the people know They must have been really pissed about that though, right? You know what, I had the pleasure of actually meeting one of the producers
Starting point is 00:37:43 Whoa We're looking at pictures of Geostorms In Canary Yellow Guys Somebody needs to buy us a Geostorm that we can paint How did this get made shit on
Starting point is 00:38:01 and drive around solving crimes Geostorms Wait, so tell the story This is a great thing you were saying A friend of mine was a producer on Geostorm He was about to leave and he said
Starting point is 00:38:23 What do you go to work on? Geostorm And I said Oh, the car? Yeah, I'm restoring a 1993 Geostorm His response was What are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:38:39 And I said The car, the Geostorm and I Googled the name and then showed it to him and he went No No What an unattractive car
Starting point is 00:38:57 It's got no, just like, no luxury to it You know what the working title for this movie was? Volkswagen Shirako Oh my god But Dutch Boy would have been tough too Dutch Boy would have been a bad thing As a paint company
Starting point is 00:39:15 Also, it's not like really like You wouldn't be like, oh, was that new action movie? Dutch Boy That sounds like a Michael Hanukkah movie It's a different movie You definitely get a different line outside of the theater for Dutch Boy You have a building burning
Starting point is 00:39:31 Dutch Boy Wait, in the story of the little Dutch Boy It thinks don't go well for him, right? He tries to plug it with his fingers He tries to plug it, but then what happens? I mean, I never got further than that part In the story
Starting point is 00:39:47 I think he like realizes that he Maybe that he runs out of fingers That started using his toes That's a different movie too Somebody here knows what happens He stays in the town Oh, he does, okay But does he have to stay there for the rest of his life?
Starting point is 00:40:07 Oh, okay The whole story's about like a little kid had to put his finger in it until a Mason showed up It's about to break A finger just does not cut it Dikes don't typically leak They weaken until whole sections are washed away No finger will help
Starting point is 00:40:23 when that happens This, I think, is like breaking down the bullshit of the Dutch Boy I love that somebody's like, this is bullshit This is impossible Nobody could do it Is this Snopes for fairy tales? It's like, why the little
Starting point is 00:40:39 Bucks Boy never puts their scramb, I have a problem with The likelihood that the prince would find Cinderella in order to put the shoe on her foot If the witch is touching their fingers, how come she wouldn't know it was
Starting point is 00:40:55 a stick? Where's the skin feel? Advertising in this movie was spot on the best reference that goes, hey man this isn't a chrome book Ugh I've never referenced a chrome
Starting point is 00:41:11 book and also Gerard Butler drinks his beer with the coarse light so prominently either He's just drinking but yeah, chrome book really stuck out to me because it's like this isn't a chrome book
Starting point is 00:41:29 I thought it was good I I'm sorry When is the president showering? On the plane? Apparently on Air Force 1 at some point the president likes to take a shower. They set a whole thing up. This is clearly an area where
Starting point is 00:41:45 there was some rewrite because they set up this whole thing that the president's going to take a shower and then they're going to steal the codes from him and then they just never talk about it again we never see them on the plane
Starting point is 00:42:01 and it would be such an easy cut to cut out that whole plan he just goes along to the democrat but no, they keep the whole plan in there and you don't find out until like three scenes later that there was no codes to steal There's no codes to steal because the president is the code Yeah
Starting point is 00:42:17 Oh, okay But that showering thing was so weird because like, did I miss a scene? Hang on though I think a lot of that is just the people knowing that if people see Andy Garcia in a movie, they want to see him shower
Starting point is 00:42:33 It was to keep the audience and speak a bunch of the seats Everybody knows, stick around folks Gotta see those Italian meatballs Yeah, get ready for an Italian meatball hero That's a spicy meatball Jason, I
Starting point is 00:42:49 wrote down what did you think of the idea of taking a shower on an airplane with that water? No, here's the thing The water on planes is not clean Don't wash your hands in it Don't drink it Where's it coming from?
Starting point is 00:43:05 It's coming from inside the plane It's gross You're better off using a wipe or a Purell after you By the way, don't use the bathroom What are you going to do if you have to go? Well, then you go But I'm just saying, like do your biz
Starting point is 00:43:21 before you get on the plane and pray to God you don't need to step into that bathroom I saw a woman walk into the bathroom in bare feet And I was like Shame on you
Starting point is 00:43:37 That is disgusting I do gotta say There was one time I was on a flight It was an overnight flight I like to take my shoes on Get on the plane This is soggy piss socks
Starting point is 00:43:53 This is socks Yeah, they weren't enough And I walked in the bathroom You had a geostorm in there I've never Never made that mistake Here's what I've never in my life seen
Starting point is 00:44:09 a clean airplane bathroom floor If you're lucky it's just covered in piss If you're lucky if you are unlucky, i.e. on Southwest there is a full
Starting point is 00:44:27 turd on the floor perhaps diarrhea Did you see the thing that helped on the Delta fight? In the blankets In one of the blankets there was a big piece of shit in the blanket
Starting point is 00:44:43 Look at me I'm not surprised Nicole Byer found a human shit folded up in a blanket on a Delta plane Look at me Cool as a cucumber, you know what? I don't touch those blankets
Starting point is 00:44:59 You know why? Cause I knew there was human shit in them years ago Yeah Yeah I'm not kidding It was sealed It was sealed Wait, so they just seal those up
Starting point is 00:45:15 They wash them and then seal them up They don't wash them Why would they wash them? Do you know stuff? I feel the same way You're not like a flight attendant though You don't have inside info Okay, then you don't need to keep talking
Starting point is 00:45:33 She found a piece of poop We would love flight attendants, pilots to come forward and tell us what to do That's tough stuff You know what I thought was nice about the spoon? There it is What?
Starting point is 00:45:51 We are now looking at Nicole Byer's What is this? Oh, it's a BuzzFeed article But about it, but there she goes Your Delta, the grossest thing just happened on my flight opened my blanket and there was literally a piece of shit How does that happen? It looks like a little Chihuahua is in there
Starting point is 00:46:07 Like, doesn't it? Yeah, they offered her 250 bucks What? That's not right They eventually refunded her first class ticket and gave her 50,000 pounds I'm not kidding Nicole Byer should currently
Starting point is 00:46:23 what flight, what airline? Delta, she turned down the offer Should currently own Delta She'd like to tell everybody her story Yeah, she turned down the offer Okay, I would like to only because we're offered to not tell the story and she was like
Starting point is 00:46:39 By the way, if you're going to try and get someone to not tell their story don't give them $250 While we're at it only because we're looking at Nicole right now please everybody do yourself a favor and watch Nailed It on Netflix Holy shit
Starting point is 00:46:55 Watch it stoned, it is the funniest show on television From the get go, it's hilarious Oh gosh, I'm going to take this piece of shit off our screen But it is great The show is great and Nicole is hilarious She's very funny
Starting point is 00:47:11 By the way, there are so many weird things in this movie, like Ed Harris' character His name is Decom I had the subtitles on it Decom, D-E-K-K-O-M I was with the subtitles That's not a name I've ever heard
Starting point is 00:47:27 It just seems like that these are the choices that I get obsessed with Also, they're trying to be ecologically conscious They'll drive a Fiat and they'll drive a self-driving car and we'll do our action scenes in that
Starting point is 00:47:43 but it doesn't really Sincere question Because we get very close to full Geostorm in this movie Seconds away Seconds away from full Geostorm By the way, the Democratic National Convention going on without a hitch
Starting point is 00:47:59 I told it because the world is blowing up Totally fine How many people die in the events of this movie? I'm gonna say many, many millions of people Easily But it's still considered a total success
Starting point is 00:48:15 It's a win It's a win It's treated like we save everybody except anybody who's a minority Yes The minority dies in the movie Except the girl in the bikini
Starting point is 00:48:31 Does she survive? She survives, but she is never the same I mean It's so Yeah, because all those frozen birds fell on her head A tsunami of ice This is my friend This is Jerry Brock
Starting point is 00:48:47 I mean This moment right here They become ice creatures Everyone is dying Yes, yes, yes Except for the one girl in the bikini Looks back at boyfriend's head Cars aren't getting out of the bird
Starting point is 00:49:05 They're falling Birds, frozen birds, that was the scariest part of the movie And they are real frozen birds You're the great visual though I hope we don't A real frozen bird in an airplane That's a problem Let's wrestle for the plane
Starting point is 00:49:21 We'll tear her apart She But we don't know if she survived That's all we see of her She survives because she's in the early part In the later part Where the rest of it happens When like the whole, that's like only
Starting point is 00:49:37 She comes back In the latter thing When there's true destruction Over the world That's it though, that's the big idiot That was earlier in the movie There's another freezing scene The first signs of it going down
Starting point is 00:49:53 Regardless, there's so many Because you know, Ed Harris Has targeted all of our enemies Everywhere in the world People are being Just massacred with tidal waves All this stuff, so I'm guessing Like 20 million people
Starting point is 00:50:09 Dying in the events of this movie Yeah, easily And we're cool with that You're in a world where Literally a lightning bolt is blowing up Like a giant Like a sports stadium I think we're just gonna be like
Starting point is 00:50:25 Hey, we're gonna start over, start fresh In a weird way, Ed Harris got what he wanted Not many people are left I mean, it's gonna be a new world anyway And that was a half a geostorm I mean, that was That was their plan They did so much exposition
Starting point is 00:50:41 And unfortunately Most of it was left to that little girl She had to kind of deliver It was a heavy lifting She deserves an award She deserves an Academy Award Because she's having to deliver some really stuff She sets it up, she takes you out
Starting point is 00:50:57 At the end, she sets it up But during the biggest part of the movie She's watching it on TV She's watching with She's watching with her mom Yeah, and she's like, and that's my dad Well, also, she's like I don't want you to go to space
Starting point is 00:51:15 That's the only place that's safe This planet is dying She was like She, I think, has powers That she knew something was gonna happen Oh, okay, hold on She's a mutant, hear me out New mutant
Starting point is 00:51:31 She is already knowing what's going on She's a new mutant who gets worried About her dad going to space That's her mutant power She can foresee bad events In her dad's future That's it, it's very limited But very powerful
Starting point is 00:51:47 By the way, does self-destruct Is that a thing that ever exists? There's no self-destruct on anything Nobody has self-destruct And then the other thing Which is like, oh, and it's irreversible Which seems like a real design flaw Like, there should be a
Starting point is 00:52:03 You should be able to say, no, don't do that Why did he want it to self-destruct? Why did he program it so it could Self-destruct? So it wouldn't crash into Earth But that also doesn't take into account That it would just burn up as it hit Earth's atmosphere My question was
Starting point is 00:52:19 At a certain point You are tracking two Different clocks One is time to Geostorm, it says And then the countdown of that And then the other clock is time to Self-destruct
Starting point is 00:52:35 Which is so lazy It's so lazy You have two ticking clocks That's Jerry Brockheimer Two clocks I watched it I noticed you only have one ticking clock At a clock
Starting point is 00:52:51 I'll get you a clock for $3 million The entire reshoot was Just inserting the self-destruct Plotline into the Geostorm plotline When you do think of the movie, it doesn't make sense Because they wrap up all the bad guys And there's about 30 more minutes left
Starting point is 00:53:07 Of just Geostorming Ideally The people on the ground should be wrapping up The bad guys and the people on the face should be wrapping up that But it's like, no, that one plotline stops And then the other one just kind of continues It's weird
Starting point is 00:53:23 You can't get ahead of the pacing of it Also, when shit Really goes bad You've got 40 more minutes To figure that out Is that common for a disaster movie In fact, it is In our
Starting point is 00:53:39 Exhaustive research In our depressing amount of research Yes, there is usually Too much time dedicated Because I thought, boy, that's a lot of loose ends That's a lot of time to tie up those loose ends Let's go talk to our audience Here and see if they have
Starting point is 00:53:57 Anything they want to bring up A Thursday night audience And I'll remind the audience That you are playing for an amazingly Gigantic Poster of Geostorm That was donated to us by the people at IMAX Is the IMAX
Starting point is 00:54:13 Geostorm poster It is comically large If you have a king-size bed, you could use it as a blanket I'm going to go out on a limb I'm going to go out on a limb and say, it's too big It is too big All right, sir, your name Your other title for the film Geostorming
Starting point is 00:54:29 Your question My name is Brian I have a question Why is it so hard to kill Jarod's brother's character? I mean, first, just Point his rocket straight into the sun And just shoot it off, or just point it to Mars And just let it go
Starting point is 00:54:45 And then my second question is Why is it so hard to kill the other astronauts When that little weather thing or space plot is going off crazy Why not just open up all the windows And kill that first astronaut, dude Why just have that thing go off like a pinball? Can we also point out that the guy Who is involved in the cover-up
Starting point is 00:55:01 Is also in the room When that thing is being swung around So, again, that was not in the original script Clearly, they decided later Who is swinging that thing around? Is somebody Literally has an Atari Control stick It's like those cranes
Starting point is 00:55:17 There's some kid controlling it In like a Chuck E. Cheese My favorite part And I know it's stupid, but he's like When Jarod's brother's like, run! It's like, we're all gonna die He's like, alright, I gotta get these guys to move Everybody in this movie, I'll be honest
Starting point is 00:55:33 Should have died It would have been more Are you guys a group, or are you guys a do- No, you're- I'm serious, now, what's going on over here, Paul? Two people, like, I normally go to people But now people have come down to me I don't know, and what's in that guy's-
Starting point is 00:55:49 Is he a doggy bag, or what is he for? To go bag of food? Oh, you have guests with you That's necessary Oh my gosh This is, alright, so these are Explain them, these are ball caps from San Diego Yeah, I'm with the Commander's
Starting point is 00:56:05 Short of Scotland 21 I'm supposed to be at my Commander's for well this evening But I got my tickets for how to get a Skimay podcast So, obviously I got ball caps For both Jason and for you, Jessica Oh This is so nice of you, thank you so much Thank you so much
Starting point is 00:56:21 Thank you so much Paul, do you- Well, say your name again Cody, thank you for these hats Now, this is the military thing, right? Yeah, so Talk to me about This movie
Starting point is 00:56:37 As a military man What are you seeing? How am I- Like, this is pretty much Exactly what would happen Well, I mean- Does this look like the military of the future to you, Cody? I think if it is the military of the future I want to know where the technology is
Starting point is 00:56:53 That he can go without any Equipment into outer space When he'd first docks leaving Cape Cranavrol In there too, he's wearing no gear This is the first movie I've ever seen And he's just like Elon Musk on his own Private jet jet What the hell?
Starting point is 00:57:09 Also, like, think about how much money It took to send that one shuttle With one passenger To the station That's millions of dollars Someone else who needed to go We are also in a future where there are like 30 NASA rockets
Starting point is 00:57:25 Just waiting to be launched It's almost like a bus station Just jump on a shuttle, bro I wanted to go back To just two quick points here and keep moving along You both, you and Jessica mentioned With the overwrought dialogue Of Hannah the daughter
Starting point is 00:57:41 I loved it in minute one where she says They knew this was extreme weather But they didn't know what extreme was And then when you're mentioning Paul, when she said she's going Out in outer space, he's like, yes How did you know that? Don't talk to me like I'm a child You little snot nose brat, you are a child!
Starting point is 00:57:57 She's literally 12 years old She's a full sass Your last point is that You were mentioning with the rewrites and everything done The director that Jerry Brackheimer hired To do this was His partner on CSI, Danny Cannon Whose only other major directorial
Starting point is 00:58:13 Effort was the 1995 Sylvester Stallone sci-fi opus Judge Dredd Steve Pikes! I think that you deserve You're going to get this big IMAX I'll give it to you Great work, Cody!
Starting point is 00:58:29 Alright, this guy, you've raced out of your seat To come to me I know that's how it worked in Austin But we're not in Austin, we're here Hold on, are you from Austin? No, I moved there for two years And I went to the Time Cop episode Oh my God
Starting point is 00:58:45 Yeah, well yeah That's Texas I love that you didn't see people rush to the front And then you did it Alright, well here we go, sir I'll be honest, you came in hot And I was like, ooh Ooh
Starting point is 00:59:01 I got ready I got ready, I was like, this guy's coming for us What You came in like a comet To freeze us Alright, so sir, your other title of the movie And your question My name is Rich, my other title would be
Starting point is 00:59:17 The Butler Did It I like it And then my question, you guys touched on it Earlier about how the scene Where like, you look way older than you're supposed to be So my question was like, do you think it's like A PA watched them shoot the scene Where Jim Sergius was talking to the
Starting point is 00:59:33 The daughter and was like, when my dad and I were your age We had our own code and it's like He was her age, Gerard And Gerard would be like 30 And went to the director And was like, we gotta like Add something in here About like how much older he looks
Starting point is 00:59:49 If they were supposed to have some sort of connection That's true, right? Cause how much We're only 10 years different Yeah, 38 Gerard has really lived, he's lived a life He's lived a life So, but yeah That code was really good
Starting point is 01:00:05 And the way they deciphered it, great One of our new heads that's getting made shirts Oh, check out those shirts It's a Miami connection inspired shirt Alright, so sir, your name, your title My name is Ben My title is Gio Stormy Daniels Oh!
Starting point is 01:00:21 Gio Stormy Daniels! Gio Stormy Daniels! Gio Stormy Daniels! There it goes! Alright, so You should sit I'm gonna be honest I'm gonna be honest
Starting point is 01:00:37 Diminishing returns from here on You can sit and go out a champion You could go out a hero Or you double down, you double down How you think? The smartest The smartest person Ever on the show
Starting point is 01:00:53 No one has shown No one has shown such Restraint No one has shown such restraint on this show Go down Like you had an amazing question You've nailed it in every possible way That guy, take a fucking lesson
Starting point is 01:01:09 Guys That guy gets it Alright, ma'am, your name, your title The movie and your question My name is Adina Chemtrails Flat Earth And other conspiracy theories And The director of this film, Dean Devlin
Starting point is 01:01:25 Is the creator of Librarians and Leverage Do you think this is originally created As like a ragtag team of scientists In the space station For TNT as a TV show It's an interesting It's an interesting question The Dutch boy crew
Starting point is 01:01:41 The Dutch boys I actually know Exactly how it was created And it's pretty amazing Take a look at this clip right here About how it came to be This started really from A kind of naive conversation
Starting point is 01:01:59 I had with my eldest daughter Who was six years old at the time Where she was just starting to learn about climate change And she said to me Why can't we just build a machine to fix this And I started to try and talk to her About
Starting point is 01:02:15 Geoengineering, the science of it And why it's difficult to do And there's moral questions and unintended consequences But then I realized the best way to explain it to her Was a bedtime story And this is really what Geostarm is It's a cautionary tale It's a fate
Starting point is 01:02:31 Oh my god He kills 20 million people In his bedtime story Here's what I'll say It is true That because of this video Dean Devlin's children were taken away from it That's right
Starting point is 01:02:49 But let us be clear This should be seen In a bedtime story Please show this to your children But also What a horrible thing to do to your kid If your movie could possibly fail To be like
Starting point is 01:03:05 Well it was all your idea Can you imagine That little girl in school Your dad's movie sucked It's your fault too You made your dad make a third movie Third movie By the way
Starting point is 01:03:21 Your name I will give money To parents who video themselves Bursting into their kids' rooms And screaming Geostorm While they're sleeping While they're sleeping I wanted the parent
Starting point is 01:03:37 Tell The sanitized version of Geostorm To their kids Then there's a girl on the beach And she started running As the birds started falling She froze to death They touched the frozen boy's hand
Starting point is 01:03:53 And it broke off because he was dead Name your title of the movie My name is Megan And I think you want to keep it simple And just do Geostorm bedtime story My question is Or more I just want to get your thoughts On the fishing story
Starting point is 01:04:11 That they tell Your messages What's actually going on Just your thoughts on that Because then they continue to have conversations That are not at all encoded So I wasn't really sure What the thought process was
Starting point is 01:04:27 Well I think the second time He brings the hacker She fixes it But what I wanted to see in that moment Was Gerard memorizing the script Because he'd have to have written it down He had to Word perfect to the number
Starting point is 01:04:43 And so I would have liked to see that scene Of him trying to cram all those lines And also for him to be like I have to think of a story Because the story is fake He says who we never went fishing That never happened So he makes up a fake story as a memory
Starting point is 01:04:59 That has to be word for word specific Because of the code I don't understand though What's the number? Certain numbers correspond to different words If you only pick the first The ninth word But also you could also just listen to him
Starting point is 01:05:15 Tell the story And anytime he says One word in the story You know that It is the word That he's trying to tell It was the worst code ever Sabotage
Starting point is 01:05:31 He says I sabotage Paul are you talking to someone Who has a notarized letter with them? I came over because of the sheets of paper The writing is so tiny On it but here Sir your name, your title, your question My name is Trevor
Starting point is 01:05:47 Trump's America Also the DNC is happening This takes place in the year 2022 Which is not a presidential election That's weird Your friend should have gotten on that Colton I have the actual story
Starting point is 01:06:09 Typed up that's why I was It doesn't work the code whatever it is It's the phone number The phone number So the code would be His phone number which is 1-999-295-5871 Which I don't
Starting point is 01:06:27 So it's every The first word So the code Would actually be proof of sabotage The part Mechanism course Spy trust no one I would love it
Starting point is 01:06:49 I would love it I would love it if part of The World War II Native American codebreakers right there The wind talker I would love it if part of the movie Was about the fact that he Had done the code wrong
Starting point is 01:07:05 And Jim Sturges was like What the fuck does this mean What a major fuck up that would have been Oh my god that is amazing Well sir first of all I'm going to give The guy who missed his His No the guy from San Diego came down
Starting point is 01:07:21 You get the giant Look how big the IMAX poster is Whoa Cody Give it up for Cody For our code breaker Specialty Fast and Furious Post Really good
Starting point is 01:07:39 I love that we Have become the podcast that gives out posters For everybody's college dorm room If you drop off anything at the front of the theater we'll give it out Alright so We're giving out chagall prints next show The kiss It is now time for second opinions
Starting point is 01:07:57 And I was struck by lightning By a convoluted plot But the people on Amazon got second Opinions Second opinions Yeah Cody
Starting point is 01:08:13 Amazing Alright San Diego bring it in again Here we go these are five star reviews Cold from Amazon We'll just get right into it They're very interesting 27% are five star reviews
Starting point is 01:08:31 There's 425 reviews So far and Let's get into it right here this is from a guy Called renaissance man If you're gonna make a partisan movie Just go 100% In either direction So you can at least please one group
Starting point is 01:08:49 If not take out all the politics And just make it an American movie Or a neutral movie It seemed like they were trying too hard to make it a pro U.N. anti America Pro global warming movie They oversold it to us all And under delivered to everyone
Starting point is 01:09:05 Progressives are good Patrons are bad U.N. is great But U.S. is in charge wow Just give me a good disaster film Pretty please and don't try to brainwash me While you do it You're one of the stars
Starting point is 01:09:23 Pro Pro global warming Yeah And then Another one One of my favorite ones from Jeff Connolly It is what it is And I loved it
Starting point is 01:09:39 Five stars From Connor Peterson One word Perfect My girlfriend and I watched it in the theater And it made her cry Three times Beautiful
Starting point is 01:09:55 Dot dot dot dot Still don't know why Why is he sitting next to his girlfriend Like every time she tears up He's just like clocking it like once It's once This is the other one that I liked From a Kindle customer
Starting point is 01:10:13 That's what the name of the credit is I enjoyed this movie CGI was great And the story had enough mush to appreciate Relationships between brothers And a father and a father and a daughter No sex Perhaps that's why no one liked it
Starting point is 01:10:29 Five stars So Every now and then I read these These are one star reviews And this I'm not advocating the opinions here But I will read
Starting point is 01:10:45 I'll read you out some of these Alright First of all Whoever wrote this is a leftist snowflake And managed to push Every political talking point Pushed by that miserable eight years Under Barack Obama
Starting point is 01:11:03 I mean Andy Garcia How can you go from Godfather 3 Yes If you're a lefty Or just part of Hollyweird You might like this movie One star
Starting point is 01:11:21 Propaganda movie that falls flat By the Henry Does that guy think Andy Garcia has only been in those two movies? I think And nothing in between Maybe you thought that was the apex This movie cost
Starting point is 01:11:37 120 million It grossed 221 million It did? Here in the States 33 But this movie is made for Overseas in a big way
Starting point is 01:11:53 You don't need to know English You don't need to have the sound on To understand what's happening in this movie Because this movie came out this year The biggest movies this year Last Jedi, Wonder Woman This movie is so far 77th On that list
Starting point is 01:12:11 It was beaten by Fate of the Furious And it beat Disaster Artist And the tagline of this movie Two of my favorite ones Surf's up Way up No, no, no, no Nope
Starting point is 01:12:31 And this one is This one is a little That's amazing That could legitimately be The subtitle for The Son of a bitch Escape from LA
Starting point is 01:12:47 When they're surfing through Down the LA river or whatever Not this, that's crazy You barely see surfers And then the other one is This one that I really like This is a longer one And as we're controlled
Starting point is 01:13:03 Heaven forbid, those same things Should ever control us That's too long And as we finally end up here One person's opinion needs to be heard That is of course Of Joondyne Diane Arangiel Who did not watch the film
Starting point is 01:13:19 And she'll tell you about it right now Hello, Largo I'm so sorry That I'm not there tonight So you can enjoy that In my stead I am so sad to not be with you All tonight and as always
Starting point is 01:13:37 So relieved to not have watched Geostorm I was actually thinking Paula asked me to see if I could take a swing Of what this movie's about And it's obviously about a It's a storm, it's a storm movie It's a geostorm
Starting point is 01:13:53 So I'm not even going to address that I would like to say that I find this trend Of natural disaster movies To be troubling I feel like we are as a society Normalizing This kind of fear we live in
Starting point is 01:14:13 Of hurricanes and tornadoes And all sorts of Horrible Environmental events And these movies Can help us work through Those fears And
Starting point is 01:14:29 Actually disconnect us From the Very real reality That we can do something about these events Those geostorms I don't know No I don't really know what a geostorm is
Starting point is 01:14:45 It sounds like a global type of storm That people are going to be running from And it's only going to pick up power And speed as it goes on But I do take issue though With this idea Of there's been a wave
Starting point is 01:15:01 Of these natural disaster movies And I question that Because it makes The audience feel better About our environmental situation Because we can control it We can watch it We can say that's out there
Starting point is 01:15:17 Away from me, I have nothing to do with that The reality of course is A lot of Students Of the land There's a ton we can do about it So Chew on that, have a great night you guys
Starting point is 01:15:39 This looks phenomenal I love her in a necrative Unbelievable Rock in the necrative, anything Anything that we didn't talk about That you guys want to talk about Anything we want to bring up The only thing I was thinking is
Starting point is 01:15:57 I thought That it was going to be tough For that ex-wife Because I thought When she was seeing him blow up Maybe she was having thoughts Like she wanted him back But then he gets off the shuttle
Starting point is 01:16:13 And there's the brunette And she has to take that in For her daughter Do you think that Jerry Butler and Uta Get together You don't stay on a ship And go like hey I'm still here
Starting point is 01:16:29 Because you just Are committed to your country You do it for the dog Plus they go through events that are Heroic He grabs her twice while she's falling through space Like they have to She's German so you're not
Starting point is 01:16:45 Going to get a lot of emotion out of her We got to go out on that For real Do you think We all agree they have sex When they get back right? After they go through a lot of PTSD training Do you think they use protection
Starting point is 01:17:09 Or are they like listen We just went through stuff let's just get it done Gerard doesn't waste his Seed like that If you're going to have sex He is putting it in you Don't say seed Wait you have a problem with seed
Starting point is 01:17:25 You got to water that butler garden No you know that Gerard has like his own Lamb skin condoms he sewed himself Wait what You think Gerard Butler Is out back sewing condoms What out of like
Starting point is 01:17:43 Out of like sheep intestines What is this It's not quite haggis It's just my dick wrapped in a sheep's A sheep's intestine But it'll do It'll work This dam will hold
Starting point is 01:17:59 Dutch boy Because I feel like the other way To have gone was He lost his wife he lost his child And then he would come back And reunite with the family I feel like if Jerry Bruckheimer Was in charge from the very beginning
Starting point is 01:18:17 He would have seen that The daughter should have been on the tarmac That is Connie That is Nick Cage Comes back to Monica Potter And the daughter and boom And I feel like I don't need you to tell me I'm right
Starting point is 01:18:33 I feel like I feel like what we were kidding Was kind of like one of those Blue apron things We've opened the box Are we plugging blue apron now In the podcast is that what we're doing No longer a sponsor on this show
Starting point is 01:18:49 Can I talk to you about Green Chef then Oh really Sustainable ingredients I'll tell you what I ate a pair of bonobos the other day They were delicious I will say though that It's like you opened up
Starting point is 01:19:11 A beautiful creative blue apron food All the ingredients are there Crazy Exactly There's a daughter There's a relationship There's this other thing about She doesn't want to fully give over to the brother
Starting point is 01:19:27 It's all there But in transit Sometimes when you open blue apron Something would have spilled A Greek yogurt spilled Never though because the packaging is so good Of course They got confused
Starting point is 01:19:43 Wait they aren't currently not We gotta get them back Because I'm just here to say They give you diarrhea And I've never had any packages Open when using sunbasket A locally sourced I'm just saying
Starting point is 01:20:01 This movie is best paired With Amazon Fresh And a delta blanket With a human turd in it I had forgotten that Guys we've gotten a lot Done tonight Oh my goodness anything else
Starting point is 01:20:21 Anything else to talk about from the movie I mean so much I swear to god I thought that fiance was in on it It was a whole movie I thought she was bad news So much so that when they are together At the end I'm like Be careful man
Starting point is 01:20:37 I would also like to point out That when she's introduced When he first sees her She's just standing in the hall And she's like I can't talk to you I'm working Behind a closed door She wouldn't be able to get to him
Starting point is 01:20:53 If he needed her I would wait for a secret service person But here's the thing And we can remember Season 3 West Wing Mark Harmon is assigned to C.J. Craig Alison Janney's character They want to fall in love but they can't
Starting point is 01:21:09 Because he's assigned to her As a secret service agent Well that's bodyguard Bitch Or some could say that's the bodyguard Bitch Fair enough Alright
Starting point is 01:21:25 So Colton what do you have coming up You have a big movie right now If you get a chance Go check out Blockers You're very funny in that trailer Oh I am I enjoyed your performance I don't know

Starting point is 01:22:01 I'm playing a real nasty bitch On a show called American Housewife That'll be Sometime Sometime soon that will happen Yeah and then I'm just like hanging out In my pajamas a lot Hey you and I also did a

Starting point is 01:22:33 Jason Well Hmm I mean if you want Like tune into the Brooklyn Nine-Nine show You know why not I would say definitely Definitely tune in
Starting point is 01:22:49 You should 100% tune into Brooklyn Nine-Nine If you do You might see me on that show And then also You know that's about it Just hanging out I will quickly plug The show that I produced
Starting point is 01:23:09 But I also have a small part in Called the Amazing Gale Pile It's a really funny Show it's the fourth season It's now available on Amazon It's bizarre it takes place behind Like the inner workings of a home shopping Network but the show is so
Starting point is 01:23:25 Much more insane and Hilarious than that description I will tell you but the Amazing Gale Pile Season four on Amazon right now Prime I would imagine Yeah and that's what it got there I would oh sorry You didn't ask but I was going to say
Starting point is 01:23:41 If you want to watch this movie I would say 100% watch But wait until it's on HBO Go I don't think you need to pay For it or at all Three times Three times
Starting point is 01:23:57 When it hits cable or whatever Get in on GeoStore But I would also recommend having another project Going on in the house Check in on it Like a crafting But I will say too
Starting point is 01:24:13 Like you got to give the movie about a solid 45 minutes to an hour Before the real Where it becomes really worth it Here's the thing you can kind of be paying attention Until the first person Says GeoStore Right
Starting point is 01:24:29 At which point tune in real hard Because from that point forward This movie is unstoppable That is exactly it It is full blown butler B We all agree That's how you should watch it
Starting point is 01:24:45 We all are there The conversation will continue on our mini-episode You can call 619 P-A-U-L-A-S-K That's 619 Paul asked And also right after this On after time Yes What's it called?

Starting point is 01:25:17 The only way to make it better is if I say Geo you say Geo Geo GeoStore A big thank you to Abel Halley For cutting these big July ideas Up in the booth
