Starting point is 00:00:00 TGIFF besties. Hello Friday. How are you all doing today? I'm hanging on by a fucking thread. Lee and I are both sick. We feel like shit. We are. I'm not, but I have a pounding headache. I'm highly medicated. What else is new? Is that different than any other Friday? Exactly. Exactly. These aren't my special bills, though. These are the antibiotics and the steroids. Some of you may know that I am in Texas. I'm born and raised here. But what sucks is I'm allergic to Texas. What the hell? So why I choose to live here now as an adult when I've got choices. Damn, you
Starting point is 00:00:51 know, no clue. Masochistic, typical HR person. See, I would have thought Texas would have been like, you know, everyone talks about Phoenix for allergies. And people always think it's so good. It's like the hypoallergenic. There aren't as many allergies there. Someone in Phoenix is probably going to be like, yeah, yeah. That's what people always say. And I would have thought that like San Antonio would be like that, but that comes from nothing other than my gut. So I sound like a real corporate executive.
Starting point is 00:01:16 Maybe in West Texas, you know, because we have every climate in Texas, you know. So where I live in San Antonio, it's just juicy as hell. I mean, it is humid. I mean, the trees are treeing, you know? The plants are planting, spring has sprung. I mean, it is yellow outside with the pollen. It is, and I am so highly allergic. And then we get to cedar season and oh my gosh, you know?
Starting point is 00:01:39 So believe it or not, Texas has a shit ton of trees. It's not the desert. I do not have a horse. I'm scared of horses actually. Well, that's unfortunate with the Kentucky Derby coming up tomorrow. Oh yeah. They scared the shit out of me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:56 I don't like animals that are larger than me. Freaks me out. I'm dead serious. Well, you could get a tiny horse. Yeah. Oh no, that's cute as hell. Thank you. I want a miniature Highland cow.
Starting point is 00:02:10 You know a fun fact, a fun fact that service animals in the workplace, it's like the two, oh God, am I, is this right? It's the service dog, but then also a tiny horse. Or is that planes? Hold on, hold on, please. I need one of those. I want a Mexican cat. on, hold on, please. Hold on, please. I want a Mexican cat. I'm like, this needs to be my like...
Starting point is 00:02:28 Yeah, that's right. I don't know if it's a pony. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've actually seen one out before. Yeah. Yes. I would have a donkey. One day I will have a farm because I've always wanted to have a farm. And I will definitely have a donkey because a donkey is like a large dog.
Starting point is 00:02:48 So I wouldn't be scared of a donkey but a horse absolutely not. You could do the rescue animal thing. You know what I mean? Yes. Rescue cute animals. But where do you rescue a donkey from? I don't know. It's the donkey glue factory.
Starting point is 00:02:59 I have no idea. I don't know what's happening to the donkey. Well that's a good point. No for real. People like they can no longer take care of them because like the cost of feed and stuff. Oh yeah. I've seen it. This is Jamie. This is literally right up Jamie's alley. Oh my God. Yes. You know, Jamie would take, if I were having a bad day, Jamie would bring me in. She'd give me care and feed. She has given me care and feeding. She has the biggest heart and yes. I want a shih tzu farm.
Starting point is 00:03:24 She has the biggest heart and yes, I want a shit sue farm Succulent well, that's cute. Yeah, like a shit sue rescue like farm. I will take any animal. That's my mom's retirement dream That's a great dream. Have you guys seen best in show the movie? Oh, of course So good. I don't think I have so Jamie see I posted that the other day When I pose you posted a thing about if you could watch one movie for the rest of your life. And I said, I think it's best in show for me. And shit series play a big part in that. But I love that movie.
Starting point is 00:03:57 You know, I spied like a blooper or an error in that. If you're a fan of Best in Show, if you haven't seen it, oh my goodness, go watch it. I'm going to Google it right now to see if I've seen it. Yeah, yeah. Jamie, you'd like it. That whole crew has multiple movies love. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It started with this is Spinal Tap. It's with Christopher Guest, Eugene Levy. Catherine O'Hara. Oh yeah, Catherine O'Hara. And so, speaking of Catherine O'Hara, so in Best in Show, in the scene where they're getting ready, they have like a little going away party, they sing God Loves a Terrier and then
Starting point is 00:04:30 they sing and whatever her character's name, which is, you know, whatever out of my mind for right now, this neighbor, instead of saying the character's name, she says, oh, Catherine, when she makes a joke and you can see her mouth it. And so anyway, so those that are fans of Best in Show, you can go back and see it. Oh, a little Easter egg there, a little blooper. Those are always fun to catch. Yeah, I remember seeing that when I first watched it in like 2000, 2001. And you were like, who the fuck is Catherine?
Starting point is 00:04:52 No, I didn't. I knew exactly. She's the mom from Home Alone. She's like, you know, that was my context when I first got into those. But like Lee, Jamie, if you could watch one movie for the rest of your life, what would it be? I said The Sweetest Thing. See, is that Cameron Diaz? I haven't seen it though.
Starting point is 00:05:07 And Christina Applegate. Oh my God, it's hilarious. It's very raunchy. And well, that sounds right up your alley, homie. Yep. Yep. Oh man, see, that's hard. That's hard for me. I think my favorite movie of all time is The English Patient. But I don't know. I know, and that's some shit just from its cinematic quality. In my head, I was expecting you to say Pride and Prejudice or Lee to be like, oh, I once watched this PBS documentary that was.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Well, that's what I'm saying. I really don't do the movies. The movies I'm watching over and over are like Star Wars, like I've seen, you know, like the toy stories over and over, or things that aren't my favorite movie. I'm watching over and over. But I just like them because they're easy. Guardians of the Galaxy. I probably watch that 50 times because I just put it on in the background to play with my phone. You know what I mean? That's like the complete opposite of the English of the English patient.
Starting point is 00:05:58 What I'm saying. But you have so many layers to your Lee onion. That's what I. Yeah. You know, it's complicated. And I love it. I love it. But, but you're telling me, I mean, Lee, I'm laugh and I'm laugh because let's tell you're sitting there on like a Sunday and you're looking, first of all, like I'm looking at like Bravo TBS, like those channels for my like, like Devil Wears Prada, you're going to flip to them. Let me just sit and casually watch the English patient.
Starting point is 00:06:20 See, that's what I'm saying. Like that's my favorite movie, but I can't watch it over and over and over. Like, I'm watching shit like Guardians or like a Marvel thing, you know what I mean? Like over and over. Yeah, it's complicated. But I am watching the documentaries. I'm watching all of them. Yes. Love them. Okay, sorry, I've hijacked. Well, not sorry. That's the thing. Don't say sorry. No, this is happy hour. Thank you. I'd rather talk about that than, you know, like, what work? Hopefully people have something more interesting than water in their hands like I do. Something
Starting point is 00:06:53 bubbly or caffeinated or both. I should be feeling a little more ragged because it's my first week back from vacation. And so those weeks can feel like a marathon, but I'm actually feeling pretty, pretty charged up. I set myself up by blocking out the first couple days I'm back, like catch up on stuff, you know, blocked out. And so I haven't really spoken to anybody this week. And that's been helpful for my mental health. Yes. Speaking of May, it's May, mental health awareness month. So that's a fantastic segue. I don't know if you planned that, but it was brilliant if you did.
Starting point is 00:07:24 I sure did. Sure did, Lee. Sure did. That was brilliant. Thank you. We're all for that. You know, I'm a big promoter of the mental health. So happy May.
Starting point is 00:07:35 Hopefully you all, hopefully your employers, but if not, hopefully you are taking some time for you and your mental health. Do you all celebrate mental health awareness month? I don't know how you say that. Like, is that something you celebrate or honor or? How do we talk about the months like that? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:53 Jamie's, I wish we had the, Jamie's eyes are giving daggers to the screen. So look, Jamie, what are you about to say on this? Is your mental health shit? No, I'm probably just like, I'm probably just like glassed over from the take. No, but I think it's important that every company, you know, do something to recognize that and not preferably not like a lunch and learn that you're acquiring employees to attend about their mental health,
Starting point is 00:08:25 but you know, just be aware and, and, well, this should really be all year long and not just the month of May. But what have y'all seen in companies that have been successful? Yeah, well, I know I sent y'all a screenshot from the CEO of LL Bean, you know, we have no connection to him or anything, but Stephen Smith is his name. And he posted something on the LinkedIn about how for May, they stay off socials. Right. And they encourage, you know, others to do the same and just take a break. And they give their employees what they call outdoor experience days, which, of course, is so on brand for them.
Starting point is 00:09:05 But, you know, they really believe that spending time outside, getting some exercise, sunshine, vitamin D, all that fun stuff really helps with mental health as research, of course, too. And so I think that that's really great because it starts from the top down, doesn't it? Like when you see your CEO taking a break from social and then, you know, going hiking or spending more time outside, taking advantage of those days off, I mean, that's huge.
Starting point is 00:09:33 Yeah, and I think it's really important to take days off. I loved that. We'll put that on our socials, the screenshot of that and what that looks like, and I completely agree it's so important. One thing I've seen in organizations is taking the opportunity, like a lunch and learn, lunch and learns can be important for certain topics, but that's not like some companies will be like, here's a lunch and learn or here's like a social media post and that's it.
Starting point is 00:09:56 But think about the underlying, like it's not, like one is, okay, what are we doing? Are we providing an EAP, employee assistance program? We've talked about that on the podcast, but that's one thing. But also, not just treating the band-aids of mental health and things like that, but really getting at the source. And that workplace stress can be such a source of that. So thinking about, do we have managers? Do we train our managers on how to be supportive of your team taking time off?
Starting point is 00:10:22 If someone makes a mistake, how do they deal with that? I mean, to me, I'd much rather work in an organization that goes and tries to create an autonomous, reasonable environment than just one that it's like a complete stressful shit show, but like, oh, but we have this thing on top of it. You can take advantage, but you don't actually have the time to even make your mental health appointment. So that's pretty important to me. The other thing you said, Lee, is like, he's a CEO. It's so important to model that as a leader from the CEO and everything to your team. Like I earlier in this week did a video about Jamie Dimon and his work, which the chairman of JP Morgan, but his approach to return to office. But more notably, right after that, he was being interviewed by, I think,
Starting point is 00:11:05 the Wall Street Journal. And her question was, oh, on your rare day off, what do you do? And I really take issue with that statement because there shouldn't be this flex of like, I'm so busy, I don't take time off. But I've sat through so many meetings where people say that. Like, I never take a vacation.
Starting point is 00:11:22 I know we're all too busy to take a vacation. Like, that's completely unhealthy. And so stop there. And that's another thing, I never take a vacation. I know we're all too busy to take a vacation. Like, that's completely unhealthy. And so stop there. And that's another thing, I think, for organizations, is to champion time off. It's a great time as summer begins in the US and in a number, however you describe it, in the hemisphere, not in other aspects of the world.
Starting point is 00:11:38 But anyway, think about that. And so I just think modeling that leadership. Like that hustle really isn't cute, that over hustle. Like to me, it's like no longer cute. You know, when people talk like that, I'm like, oh, you know. Get a fucking life. I know, but really. You can innovate without burning yourself out.
Starting point is 00:11:56 And the best, the best sustainable companies in my mind, like LL Bean, I love LL Bean. But I love what you said there about, you know, just talking about it or putting a post out about it. Like, for me, I'm like, can we stop talking about it and just like start doing real things like these outdoor experience days? Right?
Starting point is 00:12:15 Because a lot of folks stress it's coming from the workplace. So they don't want to just keep talking about stress while in the stressful environment, you know, like, like do something, you know, actually do something. Don't just talk about it anymore. And if you're a leader, you know, what can you do within your scope, you know, and your sphere of influence, and you name it, you know, for your team? Definitely something to think of, especially this month.
Starting point is 00:12:43 It's a good thing to, it's a good prompt for chat GPT. You'll always hear me. What would you do? I would go in and put a prompt and I would say if I'm a leader and this is everyone so stressed and it's mental health month, but I want to create real change for my team, what are things I can do? Love it. You can talk at it.
Starting point is 00:12:57 You can talk to it. You can tweak it. Oh, this is my team. Oh, we have a global team. So sometimes people have to. Again, some of this stuff isn't wizardry, but it'll give you really practical solutions. And it's like having someone on demand. I mean, a lot of times we all get questions a lot of times. And to varying degrees, we don't accept messages largely because we can't get them all. But
Starting point is 00:13:18 if there's messages you're thinking about sending to us as podcast hosts or things, we're happy to talk about some things we get on the show, but also go to ChatGBT and put that in. Like, what can I do? It's not a wizard, but it can give you some really practical ideas. See, I'm going to try that because I wonder, would it really? It will, right? It'll give me just really some hands-on practical tips.
Starting point is 00:13:39 I have two more short courses coming out on LinkedIn, learning on this and how to use it. And like one of them was for learning and development. And development, and one sneak peek I'll give you is that I said, hey, what if you had a meeting today and you're like, oh, God, I just want to do something different for my team. So I wrote, can you give me a 30-minute learning opportunity for my team? And I said, I'm an IT support manager. And it was like, sure.
Starting point is 00:14:01 And it gives me all boosting, oh my God, you're such a great manager for thinking of these things. It's real, like it talks to you like friendly, more friendly than Google. It's jokes, yeah. But it's like, these are the materials you need. Don't forget a prize for your people. Nice, thank you, Chachibiti. But it says everything you need to do say. And this was like a scenario that I'm not an, I don't work on an IT support help desk.
Starting point is 00:14:21 I can't help anyone with IT. But it was a really cool exercise that I'm like, God, I would love to do this with my team. And so, yeah, like again, like sometimes you got to ask it multiple times to give you different ideas. But that's, that's one way I think it can help make people efficient and effective. That's clever. Yeah. I mean, God, you've called me clever and brilliant. So I think I'm going to hang up now and jump off the call.
Starting point is 00:14:41 I know, right? While you need it. Go to kraken.com and see what crypto can be. Not investment advice. Crypto trading involves risk of loss. See kraken.com slash legal slash ca dash pru dash disclaimer for info on Kraken's undertaking to register in Canada. What about you, Jamie? Anything else that you've seen in organizations? I like the idea of the outside time. I also like volunteer time, like paying employees to go do something, to volunteer, and not anything like, for instance, I know I worked at one place and we always had one annually in May for Second Harvest,
Starting point is 00:15:38 but like go do whatever you want to volunteer your time at. Not that Second Harvest is not an amazing organization, but I think that's cool. I like also just the idea of this is going to be a walking meeting. Like even though we're all remote and we just walk and there's nothing that we need to worry about notes wise or you know, putting anything up on a screen and it's just a walking meeting. So everyone, if you feel like it, get outside and go for a walk while we're on this
Starting point is 00:16:04 meeting or bust out your treadmill. I love that too. Hmm. I haven't heard of that. I like that. But also, you know, it's not just work. There's more to life than work. There's life life. And so the other night, I went out with a woman, Trisha Sanders. She's fantastic. I texted Lee and Jamie. I'm like, God, I just love her. She runs High Five Strategies. And she's become a good friend and is a friend of the podcast. But she and I met, she's from St. Louis. She came to Atlanta. And so we met and we were going to walk in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. I had to shift plans just to do a personal thing. And so we ended up meeting and walking
Starting point is 00:16:36 on the Atlanta Beltline, which is beautiful. It was outdoors. And instead of getting a drink, we got popsicles from King of Pops, which is like an Atlanta awesome popsicle thing. And so we just went for a walk. And so last year I'd done this with a friend, but even outside of work, when you're getting together with someone, sometimes it's a drink and sometimes you can do that. But even though this is a happy hour, I'd be perfectly fine getting together with my friends. But like go for a walk, have like, but even like we had a popsicle and like I went home, I slept great. I felt great the next day and we had a really nice conversation. And so that's a substitute you can do in real life as well.
Starting point is 00:17:08 A white car popsicle would be good. Well, they also have alcoholic popsicles there. We did. They do. And so I'll just undermine myself completely. But we had non-alcoholic popsicles. It was cheaper as well. You'll save again, you'll you'll save money. So this is, you know, Dave Ramsey goes into the HR lane. So we'll go into the Dave Ramsey's lane and give the financial tip of if you don't spend money
Starting point is 00:17:30 on alcohol, you'll spend less money probably. So anyway. Love it. I love a good popsicle. I'm an ice cream person. Or gelato I saw on your story this week. Oh, yes. I went to the bagel place, which is the second time I've ever been into a bagel place. The first was when you all visited and I know you all like bagels. We don't really eat those here in San Antonio. I'm Hispanic in San Antonio. We do breakfast tacos, right?
Starting point is 00:17:57 Any tacos, anytime. I mean, I just, that was my second time there. No shit. I went to, it was by the urgent care and I was starving. And so I walk in there, I thought that was gelato, but it's schmear. Oh, that was schmear. I thought the same thing, Jamie.
Starting point is 00:18:12 I literally, I was meant to comment on that. I was like, bagels and ice cream, like fantastic, wow. There's a lot more gelato here. It's a hot ass place here, right? So there's lots of ice cream places and whatever, you know? So I thought it was gelato. Now I need to go back and look at that picture and zoom in on the flavors. Yes. And then I saw the salmon.
Starting point is 00:18:28 I was like, what type of fucking gelato flavors that? And then it like, oh my God, that's all cream cheese. Oh my God. Can you imagine if you got a scoop of that? Oh, gosh, because I was about to order the birthday cake. Can I just get a scoop of the strawberry? Like that is that is green chili and red chili. Yes. Yeah. So anyways, but it was delicious. I may get into bagels. I don't know. Yeah. Those are really good bagels.
Starting point is 00:18:54 Delicious. And rainbow as well. Those were delicious. Jamie and I are very predictable. When she showed, I was like, Jamie and I are like rainbow bagels. It looks pretty. It is. I have the mentality of a 12-year-old, so I'm like, rainbow pickles. It looks pretty. It is. I have the mentality of a 12-year-old, so I'm like, rainbow.
Starting point is 00:19:07 I am. Combined, we're either 24 or 107, so there we go. Oh, gosh. But it's been a crazy busy week for all sorts of other things, too, right? Like on the legal front, Ashley, do you have a legal update for us? I do.
Starting point is 00:19:23 We're getting tons of questions on all the drums. We are and I'm going to be on the clock like it's a reality show. But I was so high level. I was on my cruise last week, which was great. Did not end up in cruise jail. We'll leave it at that. It was a good time. But on Tuesday, there were two last Tuesday, there were a week and a half ago now, there
Starting point is 00:19:41 were two big pieces of employment law news in the US. And these do impact, we have global audience. Like one is non-competes. And that's actually a huge issue globally. Australia, the UK are two of a number of countries that are actually looking at non-competes themselves. But so in the US, the FTC, Federal Trade Commission, issued its final rule basically banning non-competes in the US. So I saw a ton of headlines that are like, no more non-compete. And we had a longer episode you can listen to that we get into explanations of these. But basically, even if this rule goes forward, it's called a final rule, it's not going to take effect until September 4th, which is the Tuesday after Labor Day. In my personal view, probably
Starting point is 00:20:19 not going to take effect then because there've already been three legal challenges. And two of them are in Texas, Lee, your state, which tends to be favorable to these employer groups. And both judges that two of the cases are in front of are appointed by President Trump. And so if you're internally, people are like, what's happening? You can say, yes, this ban is scheduled to take effect, but is being challenged and it would not be surprising to have it struck down in court to at least halt it. And then it would depend on what happens in the election. It's one of the very few things. So if President Biden were reelected, then his FTC would probably keep charging ahead. But if it gets to the Supreme Court,
Starting point is 00:20:58 I also think they would personally think they would strike it down. If President Trump were elected, my guess is his FTC would back off from enforcing the rule. So it's one of those things That's interesting flip side is salaries exempt salaries. This is specific to the US But if you're exempt most exempt employees have a minimum salary now of thirty five thousand six hundred The Department of Labor has looked they're seeking to increase that the forty four thousand almost in July and almost fifty nine thousand in January So right now, if you're in HR, legal or finance, you're in spreadsheet land trying to figure out what to do. There has not, as of when I'm recording this and what I can see, there has not been
Starting point is 00:21:32 a lawsuit filed. 100% positive that's about to happen. And this very similar happened in 2016. It was struck down by the court right before it was going to take effect. And so I would anticipate that that would likely happen, that it would like at least potentially get halted before July. So what that means in HR land is that you are going to be doing a lot of work and like live the last minute, maybe nothing will happen. That's my personal opinion. We'll see. But it is really hard for employers right now to see like things that are going to happen. Are they? Are they not? And so this is what from employees, I think is helpful to know, even if you're not in a lot of this is what from employees, I think is helpful to know,
Starting point is 00:22:05 even if you're not in a lot of our audiences, not in HR, but to know when these things happen, it can be really complicated and trying to figure out what to do and map out. In HR is generally not the one that's like, let's not pay people. They are the ones that are like, ah, God, how are we going to deal with this
Starting point is 00:22:20 and modeling things out with finance. But anyway, point is that my personal opinion, although these have made really big waves, I wouldn't expect either of these to take effect. I think Puth will probably get at least halted temporarily. And then it would depend on what happens in the election. When this literally happened in 2016 and President Trump was elected, they
Starting point is 00:22:39 ended up having a compromise. So the amount didn't, you know. So anyway, from a legal thing, his people were like, ha, we're not going to appeal. We're good. We'll let this lie. And then they kind of came up with this compromise. So the amount didn't, you know, so anyway, his look from a legal thing, his people were like, we're not going to appeal like we're good. Well, we'll let this lie. And then they kind of came up with this compromise amount. That's why the amount now is 35,600. So anyway, that's salaried. So it's salaried exempt. Have we seen any movement on the minimum wage?
Starting point is 00:22:58 Not federally. So so not federally because Congress isn't doing Congress isn't doing jack shit. No, it hasn't changed. But what you're saying, yes, we've seen movement. And so that's why it can be hard to be an H.R. in payroll because the states then, states, cities, are doing their own minimum wage. And so it makes it just super complex to try to not mess stuff up.
Starting point is 00:23:17 And so yes, you're seeing a lot of movement. So it's like some places are still at the federal minimum, which is $7.25 an hour. Then it goes all the way up to DC, which is $17 an hour. So it's, yeah. So that's, so no, you're not like, it's, you're just not seeing that because that, that has to be done by Congress. Like God forbid we pay people what they're worth and like, I don't know, a living wage.
Starting point is 00:23:42 Don't get me started on that. Well, and it's hard because then you'll see like in California and you're seeing this a lot. So California, like San Francisco, you're seeing these like bumps up the living wage and then companies are like, okay, we'll just raise our prices. And they'll have like things that are like, now you have to provide health care to people. And so they'll have like health care supplement on their receipts. And so it just, it just makes it super challenging in America. And anyway, I anyway, I say to employees, it's really hard.
Starting point is 00:24:08 Like the realities of living on $7.25 an hour. Mm-hmm. Fucking sickening. Yeah. That's what I made in 1999. Or it was six something maybe. But think of how many hours. Like I worked at Kmart or 425 when I started working at Subway.
Starting point is 00:24:22 But even still now, like just in today's dollars, like it just is really hard. And so those, but those employers that are going ahead and increasing that you can win and just providing that increase can can mean so much to people that like literally are stressed about money every every second of their lives. Yeah. Well, just know if you're listening to this and you're not in HR, I have never met an HR person who didn't fight for increased wages. I mean, the things we have to do, the hurdles we have to jump, the multi-year plans, strategic plans we have to put together to
Starting point is 00:25:01 try and get there because it's quote, not in budget that of course we're creating, but whatever. But all of the, you know, just all of the internal battles to try and convince leadership to invest in this space and wages to just stay competitive in a market, to, you know, maintain equity. I mean, whatever the case may be, oh gosh, it is such a battle, but I just like to put it out there. I've never seen an HR person, you know, not fight for that. So if you're low at work, it's trust me, HR knows and they're doing what they can. But it's your it's your leaderships. But vote
Starting point is 00:25:38 with your feet. This is an HR happy hour topic right now. I know normally employment lawyer Ashley will not come out to play on Fridays, but, um, but I just know in like, in my, in, in my newsletter and I'll put it in the HR vesties Instagram, I'll hijack that a little bit just for what I'm, what I'm doing yesterday, my newsletter yesterday. So I'll that I just included two talking points for people just as examples, not legal advice, um, not professional advice, but just examples of things you can say internally. Because I did, I've gotten like, I do these videos, I did one from The Cruise. But this
Starting point is 00:26:09 is my thing, I did it from The Cruise because I saw these come through and I'm like, I like sat, I recorded it three times, twice, I did not shower, then I went and showered. I looked really, thank you. But it was like, kaka, kaka. The audio is awful. I uploaded to TikTok. And then I put it on, go to put it on Instagram. And I'm like, kaka, kaka. The audio's awful. I upload it to TikTok. And then I put it on, go to put it on Instagram. And I'm like, okay, good, go to dinner. Then I look, people are like, where's the ending? Only like a few minutes of it,
Starting point is 00:26:33 of this 10 minute video uploaded. People on Instagram assume, people will generally assume the worst. People are like, where's the rest? And I'm like, huh? And I look, I'm like, God, I don't know. So I'm trying to upload it. It's not going through. And I'm like, I'm sorry, the rest is on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:26:46 I'm not on TikTok. Jamie saw a comment and she chimed in for me. Thank you. I actually there was, I was so annoyed. I posted it on my stories on horrendous. And I had this woman DM me and say, I don't know what kind of marketing ploy tactic this is to get me to go to TikTok to watch the whole thing. So I, being the person that I am, am like, oh, hey, I was like, I just, I think all of it just didn't upload. I literally sent her the link from your TikTok. I go to your TikTok, send her the link. She's like, I'm not watching that on TikTok. I'm like, okay, no worries. And like, I'm not expecting her to come back, you know, then she comes back again. And she's yeah, I'm like, I literally was like, Google's your friend at this point, because I'm like, bitch, Ashley is not paid to give you this
Starting point is 00:27:37 information. Like Google's your fucking friend, Google. And she's like, I'm just exhausted. And I'm dealing with all this stuff today. And I'm like, that is not Ashley's or my fault. And so when you uploaded it again, the next day, the full video, I sent it to her just to be a cunt. God's drama. Yeah. So like, I wanted to say that in case it wasn't obvious. I don't know how it did. I have no idea. I'm trying to connect to Wi-Fi. I was really grateful because my husband was very nice. And I know sometimes if you, for working couples, if one's working harder, sometimes the other takes it out on them.
Starting point is 00:28:08 And that can feel even worse because you're stressed and they're like, oh, you're always working. My husband was like, no, it's cool. I was like, I really want to record this because I've talked about it. Like, no, I don't feel like I'm like, I'm not the world expert on this stuff. But I do feel like I've talked about it. So fair enough. I'll put out this video kind of explaining it because I sat there and read these freaking rules because I'm a nerd. But anyway, he was like, no, no, it's cool. I'll take the kids. Come on, come and join us. So I felt all good. I really like I do not cry very often about work type things. I was so upset because I'm there on vacation with my family and I'm like trying to like, I'm trying to be helpful and
Starting point is 00:28:44 make sense of make sense of things. And it just like, trying to like, I'm trying to like, be helpful and make sense of make sense of things. And it just feels so shitty to have people assume the worst in you. So if you're those people and you're at work, you don't like people assuming the worst in them. Like I don't, I don't give a shit about TikTok. Like, you know, I put things all over the place. Anyway, so that didn't feel so good. So the next day, finally I took, it kept like airing. So I then spent like hours like trying to work on it, like get it to upload. The next day it finally uploads. It's like a quarter of my face.
Starting point is 00:29:09 It's like me super zoomed up just like my buddy, our good buddy Dan from HR who we love. We'll get that. But I'm like real close in the face. I was so embarrassed. But I'm like, here's the full video. And someone else had written that. Sorry, I was like frustrated yesterday and like. But don't take it out on some random person on Instagram. Like, oh, anyway, I don't want to get fired up.
Starting point is 00:29:31 Turn it happy for happy hour. But anyway, you're giving a big talk next week. So next week, we can't wait to hear how that goes, Lee. I know. Yeah, I'm traveling. And so I will share that next week. Hopefully I start feeling better and can perform, you know, all of those fun things. So excited for you.
Starting point is 00:29:50 Awesome. It'll be good. Get it, bestie. I know I'm trying to get it. Get it. But I hope that you all have a great weekend and Jamie feels better and you keep feeling good, Ashley. I feel great.
Starting point is 00:30:04 It's derby. It's I feel great. I know you do. It's derby season. I know. My parents are throwing a huge party at the villages for the derby. If you saw my Instagram stories, my dad texted me asking how you can prevent jello from sticking to jello shot cups. And I wanted to be like, I don't know. How would I know that?
Starting point is 00:30:19 But anyway. Well, if you spray a little bit of Pam. The coconut oil kind of good. Someone else said coconut oil. Someone else said syringes are good. Yes, I do like the syringes. You can buy the syringes at Party City. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:33 So if you're an Asia besties listener and you happen to my parents derby party at the villages, please tag us. I want to go. I love to love to see that. You know, and Cinco de Mayo. Yes. Oh my gosh. Fantastic.
Starting point is 00:30:43 Love Cinco de Mayo. I love it. I love any holiday that revolves around traveling. You know, and Cinco de Mayo. Yes, oh my gosh. Fantastic. Love Cinco de Mayo. I love it. I love any holiday that revolves around drinking. Yeah. Yeah, and celebrating independence, all these things. So, all right. You're like such a dork.
Starting point is 00:30:57 Jamie just a little shimmy over there. She's all excited. Oh gosh. But we hope everyone out there has a wonderful weekend. I hope I feel better. And happy Mental Health Awareness Month. However, you choose to celebrate. Amen, honor, support, celebrate all the verbs. All of them. Bye besties.
