We find little nuggets, treasures, valuable pieces of gold in the Joe Rogan Experience podcast and pass them on to you, perhaps expand a little bit. We are not associated with Joe Rogan in any way. Think of us as the talking dead to Joe's walking dead. You're listening to the Joe Rogan Experience Review. What a bizarre thing we've created.
Starting point is 00:00:40 Now with your hosts, Adam Thorn. He'd have been the worst podcast with a best one. Two, one, go. Draw the show. Hey guys, and welcome to another episode of the JRE review. What's happening? Nice to see you again this week, sir. Good to be here.
Starting point is 00:00:59 Toddly, Toddly. Good to be here. We got Brett Weinstein on. We have Dave Portnoy from Bastel and we have Peter Zihan. That was that was my favor. That was a good one. That was a good one. We usually do the faves first. I really did like the Brett one though. So we're gonna we're gonna stick with that and just roll into it.
Starting point is 00:01:23 What's rolling into Brett here. You know, if you've been a Rogan listener for a long time, which a lot of you guys have, then obviously you know Brett and he's an evolutionary biologist. So when he talks about COVID shit for the most part, people should listen to him. And first, people didn't and they Really hammered him for it criticized him and and now I think a lot of what he said on this podcast
Starting point is 00:01:53 Has been proven to be true or very plausible So it's harder to deny you know like let's say there's another Thing in the future that's like biology related and It's a big fucking deal and people are arguing left and right. He might for sure be the guy that you we listen to now And my point is like it's important to find those people It really is and for him to be at a fight through all that controversy early on and still hold his ground and really try and be as rigorous and scientific as he could be. And shit, he just hasn't needed to change his tune.
Starting point is 00:02:32 It's like, wow, it really was as fucked as he said it was. It's scary, it's scary news, man. But what I appreciate about him is he hasn't wavered. He seems to obviously know what he's talking about. And now when you see, they talked a lot about the times coming out with stories, Wall Street Journal coming out with stories about things that were shunned in the past and things that he was getting ridiculed for are now becoming common knowledge or at least being talked about in a way where you're not getting kicked off of YouTube. You know, which is great. So what I would want to believe is that all these people that had the fear of not getting the vaccine are now starting to realize that we were fucking dooped and nobody knew what
Starting point is 00:03:26 the hell they were doing and MRA was not a good idea. That's how I feel now. I was dooped. I got dooped. I'll never take a vaccine again, never. No way. I won't do it. It was nuts that it coincided.
Starting point is 00:03:38 It wasn't just that like that was happening, but it coincided with like basically mass censorship and mass cover-ups and ultimately, you know, it wasn't that beneficial. I mean, you know, if you got to the other end of it and then half the population died and we didn't do anything. And no, and they made this vaccine and it was the only reason the other half survived. And they also had all this mass censorship. You might think, holy shit, I was against that and I would have died if I hadn't had taken it. So therefore, I'm probably too dumb to make decisions and I'm just gonna follow this from now on. They kept me alive. But it wasn't like that.
Starting point is 00:04:26 It was the complete opposite of that. We're finding out that, you know, people are having adverse reactions from vaccines. That they didn't really research. They said it was safe. They had no way of knowing. They didn't research at all Pfizer when they were making it. Didn't like look into whether it stopped transmission,
Starting point is 00:04:48 right, only made antibodies. That's all they looked for. That's not how it was sold to all of us. Dude, it was real clear that everyone was saying, take the vaccine so you don't get sick. Yep. And it's easy to keep saying, oh, they didn't know, right? I didn't know, but it's easy to keep saying all they didn't know right? I didn't know
Starting point is 00:05:05 But it also people had questions and they were like wait a second How can we be sure of this and you want allowed to question it? Well, we just wanted to do what we thought was right because everybody was was wanting to do the right thing and that's they scared us They scared us all into thinking that it was the right thing to do Right, there was a lot of pressure and And then I mean, families were fighting. Some like Joe was talking about. He doesn't even talk to some of his friends still. That were his good buddies because of his thoughts, even now. Yeah, not. It's fucked up. And I mean, it doesn't surprise me. None of this stuff surprises me. It's sad
Starting point is 00:05:42 that it doesn't surprise me that this shit happened. Before we get too deep into that and the specifics of the kind of summary of the whole podcast that I just gave broadly, what about Jordan Peterson? Oh yeah, him getting taken off of Twitter, right? Well, Elon, let him back on. That happened at first. Okay. Now Elon Elon let him back on that happened at first
Starting point is 00:06:05 Okay, now he like Elon's let him back on of course, right, but now he retweeted some criticism to what's his name Trudeau from a conservative politician in in Canada, oh, and now this is when they're saying his license is going to get removed Got it and like the psychology association up there is is not liking him all of a sudden for something Is even practicing anymore? Isn't he just like a YouTube star now?
Starting point is 00:06:37 He's just like selling books and making I mean he listen his books are great He's fucking loaded. He doesn't need to be doing clinical psych up But he has a PhD. He worked hard to get that right they can't take that and more importantly he hasn't really broken any type of ethical Rules I would agree with him. It's all it is. Yeah, so this is just a bullshit cancel culture cancel culture attempt to get rid of him So this is just a bullshit cancel culture, cancel culture attempt to get rid of him. This is scary. Unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:07:08 He's a very helpful person to a lot of people. And look, you don't have to agree with people. It's okay. I don't like Donald Trump. It doesn't mean I think I shouldn't be able to, you know, listen to what he has to say if I want to or not. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:23 I don't think he should be censored. I don't think anyone should be censored. I don't like at least 15% of your ideas and list of my friends. Yeah, there you go. Are we agreed to disagree on? I'm like, no, we're not putting that there. Oh, are you talking artistically, fuck off. Just across the board, bro.
Starting point is 00:07:38 Oh, good. Well, truth would always win and would break this pattern if we could somehow, that was the biggest takeaway for me, is like, truth will win on podcasts, and that's why podcasts are so important right now, because they're independently owned and operated. It makes you think that if we were to turn
Starting point is 00:07:59 on the Pfizer's of the world, TV's gone. What's thinking about that today? TV's gone. After listening to this, I'm thinking to myself, if fucking Pfizer's done and who's going to advertise on television, no one watches it anymore except for our parents. Yep. That's why it's old Fox. That's why it's old. Pharmacy. Nobody watches it. Who watches television other than Netflix and streaming platforms? Old people. No one other than old people. Sixty and older. I haven't for I wouldn't even local news. I wouldn't even know what a stop. No, I'm what are we?
Starting point is 00:08:28 We have to call like fucking direct TV. They're fucked and they know it. They're fucking they know it. Right? Nobody's watching it. Maybe this was their last attempt. Like, well, we're gonna be screwed in the next decade. So we better figure out how we're gonna make trillions. how we're gonna make trillions. Because CNN's going down. ABC's going down. I mean, honestly, other than like Jimmy Fallon, and like, you know, it's a nice show. What else is there that people watch, dude? Saturday Night Live?
Starting point is 00:08:54 Yeah. Kind of sucks now. Well, I mean, YouTube has ads. Less your peels on there. But you don't often see pharmaceutical ads on that, do you? Well, the way you just don't know. I mean, maybe they do. I don't notice them as much.
Starting point is 00:09:06 Maybe on Hulu. Fies of might start jumping over to YouTube. They're just gonna start going on to Netflix and YouTube. Because here's the thing with those medications. If they don't remind you to take them or to ask your doctor about them, you never would. Or you just wouldn't know to take them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:21 I mean, your doctor would tell you, but it's like, I mean, he's getting paid off too. It's almost like everyone's sat at home watching Did TV it just make some neurotic and scared yeah, and then they're like shit. I should go talk to my doctor about this thing When actually if he just got up off of your ass to invite them to round walked around for what did he say like 10 minutes? 10 minutes a day for three days a week and you're not only at your stress levels going way down
Starting point is 00:09:49 and cortisol and all that stuff, but your immune system is like... It's like far better. What is it? It was like 300 times better. Oh yeah. 300 times better, just from walking around 10 minutes for three days a week.
Starting point is 00:10:03 Dude, if you think of like kind of like cave people early civilization time, like no, almost, you take like 80, 90% of the people that live today at least in the Western world and their physical output, no one could have survived back then, but that physical out. Even if it was Sean, even if they were the luckiest hunter in the world, they could just stumble out of the cave and just throw a spear and kill it immediately. They say they were that good, like the Michael Jordan of hunting, but also didn't like to move very much. Even that would be more energy than so many fucking people use. It's unbelievable. Yeah, that really is. It's sad. I'm worried about this and then the other people that everyone took it. So there was quote unquote herd immunity, even though it didn't stop transmission so there was never gonna be herd immunity. But because of these lies and the different
Starting point is 00:12:17 and the brainwashing in a sense, I mean. No one really knew what to do. It doesn't matter what side of this you're on. I bet you know someone that you Could communicate with talk to chat with on almost every level and have like pretty civil discourse with Because they're your friend you've known him a long time and now at least with this issue you can't and who knows maybe Ended your friendship. Maybe you can now though. That's what that's my hope People we all should you couldn't a year ago.
Starting point is 00:12:45 Yeah, we should all let go of any hate we have towards other people about this issue. Right. Because it wasn't either of our faults. The information was funny at best. We just thought we were doing the right thing. Both sides thought they were doing the right thing. That's what everyone needs to understand.
Starting point is 00:13:00 Yeah, I don't think any one person in this was like, I want everyone to die. Yeah, like, nah, I don't think so. Do they just thought they were doing the best thing for their body, their body, their choice? Their body, yeah, or even the, you know, who knows, the people around them, like, however they saw it. I just really wish people would realize that if it's their body, their choice, they should let, they should feel that way about a woman's body as well, but we don't have to go there. Oh, no, yeah, of course. I mean, because it's the same thing, everyone.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Yeah. Well, but everybody, that's almost, and it's your body. It's like being a free speech, absolutist. It's like you're guaranteeing that you're allowing some people to say some things you're going to hate. Are you going to hate? Absolutely. But you can't pick and choose.
Starting point is 00:13:44 No, that's not freedom of speech. Yeah. But the same with the body thing. I mean, it's like you should, if you have the right to your choice, mandate or not, then a one and another. Somebody else has a right to do. I mean, that kind of freedom should just be free. Well, it's American.
Starting point is 00:13:59 The, I mean, this was right at the end there, but the Greta Thornberg tweet to to Andrew Tate. That was on the bar still one. Oh, that was on bar still. Yeah. Oh shoot. That was good though If you think about it like I'm thinking about him in a second. I definitely want to talk about him Finishing up some of the non-COVID stuff that he went over and obviously like breads a very smart guy. I know he's a bi-log, evolutionary biologist, but he's also like a really fucking good mathematician and a bunch of other stuff. He's a smart guy. Yeah. Um, well maybe that's his brother. Is his brother the mathematician?
Starting point is 00:14:40 I don't remember him talking about his bro. Yeah. It's, um some Eric and Brett. Um, anyway, is he on the pod with him? He said it was his wife. Yeah, Eric's come on before. No, he does the pub with his wife, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:55 And I haven't heard listen to any episodes of that. I feel bad because I do like him. I am a fan. It's just one of those things where it's like, fuck, there's a lot of podcasts. And also, I know when he comes on It's heavy shit like I don't know about you, but I have a shitload of notes and I can't even remember half of them I have a ton of notes. I would say I Spend time with with my extra time. I'm either reading a book or I will do he room and lab She's with some extra time,, but maybe I need to branch out.
Starting point is 00:15:25 I'll check out Dark Horse. I will listen to an individual pod that I get sent to someone's like, it's really good. There you go. And what gets me to do it is if it's like one of the big players podcasts, then I'm like, OK, and sometimes it's good enough to wear up, I'll go on a bit of a podcast kick on in that direction. You know, like listen to a bunch of Sam Harris and then I just kind of float into other shit.
Starting point is 00:15:51 I think that's why it's so hard to compete against Rogan because literally once he has you as a fan, it's so many hours that you don't even have time. It's like you can't even watch another show. You know, pretty much. Yeah Yeah, pretty much what did I I got into On TV or on Netflix. I think it was the getting in cars with coffee with with sign fell Sign fell. That's a great show. It's it's pretty good. I was expecting a better show
Starting point is 00:16:23 Mm-hmm. I like the one with Fallon. Jimmy Fallon, because I love Jimmy Fallon. I can get it. You know, I just, Seinfeld's just a little bland for me. Yeah. A little bit bland. The Ricky Gervais one is my favorite.
Starting point is 00:16:35 Okay, I haven't watched that one yet. Watch that one yet. That episode's brilliant. Okay, yeah. But I just, I like watching that shit because it helps me with this podcast, helps me with the other podcast. You know, just reminders of,
Starting point is 00:16:47 not like you're hard to talk to. So it helps me more with my own podcast when I'm talking to people I might not know. Mm. Just to get that conversation. Yeah, interview style, exactly. Yeah, of course. Yeah, it's very useful.
Starting point is 00:17:00 While talking about that, they said that there was that system that could write shit out that AI. Dude. And then you put in some, here's what I was thinking. And this is just a thought. This is just a thought.
Starting point is 00:17:13 But wouldn't it be interesting for one of the additions of your magazine to use that software? I've already thought about it. Put in a bunch of really cool headers like snowboarding, but then mental health, and then basically like all the kind of categories that you like to hit on, let it write it out, but don't tell your readers until the very end. By the way, this was, and this is just an example of showing what the future is. And if you really enjoyed that and were emotionally pulled into it, understand that this is what the future, yeah, that would just be wild, I think. Oh, we've talked about it.
Starting point is 00:17:47 Writing a story and then actually seeing if AI could write the story as well and seeing if we could tell the difference or if our readers could tell the difference. Something like that. Because they're writing content for people. Imagine if this becomes the future. Did they name a specific website that they were going to? I think they did. Yeah, you can look at that. I didn't write that down. I didn't either, but we can just go back to the, but the podcast. But then I was also thinking
Starting point is 00:18:11 how they faked the podcast with Rogan and, and Steve, the deep fake jobs. But like, how long until there's actually an entire show that exists that is just AI voices and on top of that, let's go one step further, is there one already out, not to be a crazy conspiracy theorist right now? But how do we know? We would know. We would know. Imagine, it's like the top five shows become I just because they're funnier, wittier
Starting point is 00:18:46 They hit all the points. They keep it interesting and we're just like the fucking robots entertaining us right now Well, he talks at the end there about ex machina that the ex machina Mac and I'm sorry. I always called it machina isn't it CH anyways? Doesn't matter but that movie's that movie's pretty old, right? That came out like the late 90s, early 2000s, didn't it? No, no, no, no. Maybe I'm confusing it with something else.
Starting point is 00:19:11 Like, is it a cartoon? It was like a 20, probably like 14, 15, 15, one. Yeah, yeah, it's not that. It's not that. But what I was getting at is if there's no emotion, okay, so it was in 2015 that came out in 2015 Okay, I was thinking of a different movie. I was thinking of some shit on like It was a it was something that maybe came on after the Simpsons anyways doesn't matter
Starting point is 00:19:37 Never mind doesn't fucking matter, but what does matter is if AI doesn't have emotions like the rest of us, don't you think we'd be able to tell? We'd be able to point that out if we were thinking whether or not it was a real human or not while listening. Yeah, but that's going to get better. Yeah, I mean, right now you might be able to tell the difference, but maybe not five years from now. They would just learn what to, like basically they would be listening to you and then the
Starting point is 00:20:07 part of the program would just be deciding what emotion they should be. To pretend to tell. To pretend to tell. Potentially feeling based on their personality program. So then they would just allow that to, they could copy mannerisms. Obviously, they wouldn't be feeling it, but I think, I don't think it's that fucking hard to trick humans, honestly. No, obviously not. Like our lie detectors. But I think that it's not going to take long at all before all the things around us
Starting point is 00:20:37 could just be getting made and played by some sort of program they are. That we just lose control por algún programa de AI. Que nos lo podemos controlar. Nos lo vamos a poner en lugar. Y ahora no sabemos.
He... El barstall es más fácil, en el mundo. Y, creo que hemos is massive online now. And I mean, we've all heard of it.
Starting point is 00:21:45 It's been around for a while. They've got some different shows that are very, very funny. I did not know that they started out as a newspaper. And that it was just really hustled. And he was a salesman before, right? He was selling ads or doing something. Yeah, salesman before, but, you know, I mean, he was selling ads or doing something. Yeah, salesman before, but you know, I mean, he's obviously still a salesman.
Starting point is 00:22:08 Basis, but it's like sales on your terms, right? I mean, this is the pros and cons of doing sales jobs. One, they're hard jobs and not everyone can do it. That's for sure. It's like it's own type of intelligence and that's because it's kind of combined with like maybe the ability to tap into like soci... like... you know, like some sort of like... Social pathic tendencies? Is that what you're gonna say? Yeah, something like that.
Starting point is 00:22:38 I don't know if I don't think it's sociopathic. I believe that it just... Look, there's a difference between, it depends on what kind of salesperson you're talking about. It's either the type of salesperson who's there to help someone or the type of salesperson that's there to make money. It's a huge difference. And I'm under the side of wanting to help someone and that actually helps sales.
Starting point is 00:22:59 It's like the reason why I love the book, The Go Give, or so much. But I don't know what kind of salesman Davis. I don't know. Yeah. He seemed like a pretty legit dude when it came to the Alex and, what's that podcast, the daddy podcast, where the gal got taken off, Alex and what's her name?
Starting point is 00:23:21 I have it written down. Anyways, that was towards the end of the pod, but Sophia. Alex and what's her name? I have it written down. Anyways, that was towards the end of the pod, but Sophia. Yeah, so that was a big contract. But he seemed like he took that like he seemed like he was a nice guy when that came out. He basically said I'm going to give you guys both 500k and sign another contract for a year and the Sophia Sophia didn't take it because her boyfriend was being a douche and now Alex just got what a $60 million deal with Spotify last year on her new show and now she's just running herself so good for her.
Starting point is 00:23:57 But he seemed to take that well other than saying he doesn't like Sophia anymore but you know, it sounds like she kind of tried to fuck him over. Yeah. He didn't go into like major lawsuit mode and any bullshit like that. I guess the show is probably just growing so fast that it took him a while, but they realized, oh, we, we, yeah, we undersold this and now we're stuck in this contract. And then they were frustrated, you know.
Starting point is 00:24:25 No one's fault though. Like that's a good problem to have. Yeah, I mean, it seemed like they were getting a little greedy if you asked me. Exactly. And it seemed like that was his take as well. Let's say that it didn't take off anything like that. Well, then what Dave did for them would be huge. Yeah. So, hey, it's a lot more than you had. Chill out. It's business.
Starting point is 00:24:42 It's business. Give it a year. Maybe you'll learn a lot from this, but people just see green and escape velocity cash and they're like, the escape velocity, dude. Everyone wants that. Right. And why we can't get the truth out. And then they're coming for you as soon as you make that money.
Starting point is 00:25:01 Yeah, that was one of the more interesting dialogue that I was hearing about was that particular story. I didn't know about it. I've never listened to the podcast, but once I looked into it, it sounds great. Too beautiful women talking about one night stands awesome. Yeah. Have you listened to it? I haven't.
Starting point is 00:25:23 But it sounds great. I can see what it is. I'm sure, I but it sounds great. I can see what I'm sure I mean, it's either good or bad. I'm sure it's not in between well if you look at like quite a few of the top podcasts They're like the crime ones and and that and it's like the true crime which a lot of women listen to like yeah There's a lot of women that are listening to I. I don't know if it's more than men. I think it's more. It might be. It definitely isn't a Rogan show, which is the biggest one, but there are a lot of shows
Starting point is 00:25:54 that are kind of female focused and... Oh, no. No. 46% female, 53% male. Is that right? May of 22. Okay, so about even split Which is I think that that just speaks to the value of podcasting across the board It's like it's not one of the other. It's for everybody
Starting point is 00:26:15 It's it looks like the gap is was closing it used to be more women back in 2019 It was it was more women listeners than men, but is now toppled to the other way the other direction. Yeah, huh? What do I flipped? So Dave what else do we got for Dave? Oh 41 million prescriptions for Adderall. Oh, yeah I'm one of the fuck. Oh, we don't have any people do you think that could be? It's hard to say I know often do they give you a do you think that could be? It's hard to say. I mean, I often do they give you a prescription usually once a month.
Starting point is 00:26:47 I typically don't take it on the weekend, so like every month and a half. Month, okay, so month and a half, let's say. But yeah, you're supposed to be once a month. Let's say it's like eight times a year. And you can only get it once a month because it's a controlled substance. Okay. So they're pretty strict about not doing refills until you're out All right, so if that I mean that's still like three million people a year if that's in every month prescription
Starting point is 00:27:15 Yeah, that's a lot of people Well, that does a sense of the United States is messed up. Well, and that's just after all they're not they're not counting the other five different Prescriptions you can get they're not counting Riddle in they're not counting the Vance There'scriptions you can get. They're not counting Ritalin They're not counting the Vyvance. There's like seven different kinds you can get I mean I used to take out the balls, didn't like it, made me angry. So then I got on Ritalin and I take less amounts and it seems to work really well. It doesn't make me as angry. Okay, still you still fucks up my temper a little bit. Does it? Yeah, but I have a temper. Yeah. Trying to calm that down in 2023, bro. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:49 Maybe, maybe quit your meth addiction then, bro. Maybe. What did you think about the coffee hydrating you? That was a nice one. They started, they talked about that right at the beginning. Yeah. I've heard that before. No, I knew that it did. I mean, I'm pretty sure that certain
Starting point is 00:28:07 beers can hydrate you. If they've, if the percent to alcohol is low enough, think about it. The kombucha has half a percent alcohol. I love kombucha. So if you had like a two and a half percent beer, and that, I mean, that has a lot of liquid in it. I think they just, okay, so a diuretic is something that causes your kidneys to make you want to pee. So you just pee more frequently than you would if you hadn't taken any sort of diuretic.
Starting point is 00:28:37 Coffee is a diuretic and that's why people say, you know, that it's, I guess alcohol is too because you pee more or maybe not, it just dehydrates you's, I guess alcohol is too, because you pee more, or maybe not, it's just dehydrate you, but yeah, coffee is that. So that's why they're like, oh, it is dehydrate you. Well, no, it just makes you pee more, but you're still getting a lot of liquid in your system. Well, why can't you see the same thing about booze then? Because booze is different. Sugar? No, it's the percent to alcohol. So the lower the percentage, which is what I was just saying. Yeah, because of the competition
Starting point is 00:29:08 Beier then maybe that alcohol would be low enough to where you could all day just drink it But if you tried to sit there and just drink vodka and expect to live I Mean no, I got your liver is gonna hit you real quick. Yeah, not only will you destroy the liver But there's there's not enough water in there. You wouldn't stay hydrated, you wouldn't clean it out. Kanye getting canceled. That's kind of the end of this that I want to hit on. It's like when they brought that up again,
Starting point is 00:29:39 you know, I've been like wondering and watching what's happening with him. And obviously he said some wacky shit, watching what's happening with him. And obviously said some wacky shit. But what's new, he always does. This is just like by far the wackiest. But it really sounds like he's done so like, what was the last thing another anisimetic thing? Yeah, I mean, he's dead again. Oh, dude, he's been doubling down. He's done him multiple, multiple times. He hasn't backed off once. Oh, he's a dumbass. So now he was a billionaire.
Starting point is 00:30:07 Now he's lost the Adidas, lost the agents, lost all sorts of things. I mean, what he still be able to do is produce music on his own. Yeah, just produce music. And make it go back to music. Go back to music. Yeah, he's not gonna be broke.
Starting point is 00:30:23 But that really is like the first kind of billionaire that just got canceled. If you think about it, it's going to call out to Kim to give us the real juice on Kanye. She's got to have some good stuff. She should just write a book. They probably signed NDA. Oh, you know, they did. You know, they did. You know, smart. Yeah. The only other thing I was going to say is it was interesting. This isn't new news But just how if Rogan wasn't the number one podcast when he was bringing on some of the guests in the past oh About Spotify and yep, and how he would have been crushed well They so what was it Rogan's friend said hey?
Starting point is 00:31:01 You're the number one show in 91 countries. Right. And if you were the 10th biggest, no, he said, if you were the 91st show in one country, you'd be out. You'd be out. That's more like, it's more like our rankings, which I'm still very proud of. Great. Thank you, fans. Thank you, Rogan. Yeah, we're not hitting, of course. Yeah, fans. But we're not hitting, you know, multiple country levels. So yeah, of course, you need to keep your head under the radar. Like, they get you in trouble real fast.
Starting point is 00:31:34 But truth will come out and podcasts. Come on. But it's also that I think, look, Spotify is like, whether you've seen the documentary on Spotify, it's on Netflix. I watch it. I think it is actually a Swedish documentary documentary on Spotify, it's on Netflix. I watch it. I think it is actually a Swedish documentary because it looks like it's dubbed.
Starting point is 00:31:49 Oh, I saw it. I saw it. Yeah, and I didn't want to read this subtitles. Yeah, no, but they haven't actually dubbed now. Oh, they dubbed over voice. Yeah, they dubbed it. Yeah. I have to watch it.
Starting point is 00:31:59 The Dub one is doable. Anyway, it's like interesting how like really progressive forward thinking that they are like and you know, it makes sense that they because the sweet and it made sense that, you know, even though they've fucked over some artists and other things that people get frustrated about, there is like this kind of freedom of behavior attitude that they have that it explains why they like the idea of Rogan. And he's paid off, dude. He's paid off.
Starting point is 00:32:30 Dude, they don't give a f**k to people. They cause people to be like an extra. They like the idea of Rogan because it brings in the money. Okay, let's start there. I'm sure they're cool people. Obviously, they didn't cancel him, which was cool. But like you just mentioned, if he was making them so much money, a bunch of money he would have been canceled.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Here's a question, and maybe someone can email me and explain this because I can't quite figure it out. Spotify's top artist, I think is Taylor Swift. That makes sense. With 79 million downloads a month. Wow. That makes you. With 79 million downloads a month, right? That makes you the best. Yet a song is only what, five minutes? Yeah, okay.
Starting point is 00:33:12 Okay. Right. So Rogan is getting about 12 million downloads per episode, right? Or at least within the first 30 days, you would assume. So, and that's per episode. So we've got 12 million, I'm doing the math, as we speak. Time is... It's just Drake is actually the biggest one.
Starting point is 00:33:33 Okay, how many a month? Oh, let's see, monthly, most monthly listeners, the weekend is number one at 94 million. Okay, so let's just say 94 million for his five minute songs, roughly. Yep Yep. So Rogan has three hour podcasts 12 million people Roughly or downloading his show. I think it's something like that Yep, and he has what on average per week. Let's just say three on the low end, right? So 12 million times three
Starting point is 00:34:03 times four For like the amount of weeks. It's more. Yeah, it's more dude. It's fucking 144 million downloads per month. I mean, it's not that much more. We're looking at almost a hundred million for the weekend. Yeah, yeah. That's one song or whatever.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Think about it. That's 50 million more, which is significantly more. That's 50% more. Plus, significantly more. That's 50% more plus He sure goes on for three hours, right? So he can capture that attention for that much time That's a considerable amount like because you then you could also almost multiply the time in as well Because I'm sure Spotify look at it is like overall streaming Who is overall streaming the most? I mean, he's through the roof.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Yeah, if you look at time wise, you look at time wise, it's not even a comparison. Well, but it's not even a comparison if you just look at downloads. But time wise is insane. It's not the difference. I will say that I'm very surprised that Coldplay is on at number 11 on here. They're pretty good. All right. I knew you're going to say that twice in concert and I loved it both. that Coldplay is on at number 11 on here. They're pretty good dude. I knew you were gonna say that. I knew you were gonna say that.
Starting point is 00:35:07 I see that twice in concert and I loved it both times. They're not better than fucking Sir Elton John, okay? And Sir Elton John's 16 on this list, Coldplay's 11. So let's calm down. Sir Elton. And he's from England too. So let's go, Elton. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:35:20 He's been riding his own wave of songs for like 50 years and still singing the same one. So God bless him. él ha sido en su vida de las sombrinas de 50 años y aún está haciendo el mismo. Así que... ¡Gables! ¡Este es el número 2, ¿no? ¡Ve a ser, a ser, a ser, a ser, a ser, a ser. ¡Mum! ¡Wow!
Starting point is 00:35:34 ¡Yikes! ¡Está en el primer década de música aquí! ¡Vamos! ¡Vamos a terminar con Pita Xean! con Peter Zierren. trápalo.com I don't think it was all depressed. I don't think it was all depressive news. I think a lot of it was actually kind of cool. It's kind of good because ultimately the story is America wins. First out the America. Yeah, let's make some sense of this. I mean, look, I gotta take it with the grain of salt because it's just one guy with some stats, okay. Dude, he's a smart fucker. I'm not saying he's not smart.
Starting point is 00:36:51 I really like this guy. I actually would like to read one of his books, or he has several books. And I had never heard of him before. Had you heard of him before? No, I think I may have seen some of his clips pop up like on Reels on Instagram and just not known who he was because I did recognize his kind of voice and the way he was speaking.
Starting point is 00:37:14 But yeah, I wasn't very familiar with him. Very interesting, the numbers. I mean, just to start out. I'm glad I am now. I'll tell you that month. Just to start out with the... I had no idea how many lives had been lost in Ukraine and Russia. That was fucking crazy. No. To think about...
Starting point is 00:37:32 And talking about how the Russians are just going to keep throwing bodies at it. That... If we want to start about depressing shit, that... Yes, that was depressing. To think about how many lives have been lost over this small piece of land that Russia wants so badly. And how much money is going towards it now. But then for him to turn around and say, Russia's fucked. In his mind, it seemed like he thought Russia was going down.
Starting point is 00:37:56 It does sound good for Russia. Which is what we want. Well, I mean, what do we want? I'd rather just be a piece with everyone. Well, if by we, I mean, what do we want? I'd rather just be a piece with everyone. But if by we, I mean the US, what I mean by that is, is if the conflict is gonna happen, which it is, it's not going anywhere, it's not gonna stop. We want Ukraine to win.
Starting point is 00:38:16 Of course, of course. I'm not saying I don't want war. I'm totally with it. I want Ukraine to win. I just share it in our best interest as Americans. Once they fuck off back to Russia and give this up I feel so bad for the people of Russia. How many times have you had those stories where they like a whole family had like one potato for a week And then there was like cannibalism and yeah, it just like they've had it hot
Starting point is 00:38:39 Those poor fucking people no wonder they're so tough. Well, they so up they said two hundred fifty thousand ukrainians have lost their lives uh... and two hundred thousand troops in russia what so many people what i had i had absolutely no clue is that so many people so then he basically said there's plenty of solid reasons to root for ukrainians russia only has so much leadership and they do not have a replacement generation I that was crazy news to me. That's wild because because Putin's just such an egomaniac
Starting point is 00:39:11 He just doesn't trust anybody. No. Yeah. He's just like once I'm done. I don't give a duty I don't think he has kids and he recently within the last 10 years or so divorced his wife Well, and they're saying they remember he doesn't give a fuck Parkinson's or something But they don't really know because all the fucking shit that comes out of the out of Russia is fake. Like we don't know if the news is real or not. What really made me feel a lot better is when he discussed nukes and he was like, yes, there's four options here.
Starting point is 00:39:42 Number one, you know, they nuke America. But the problem with that is, even if it could happen, it's like, we know exactly where poo is. Yeah, it's a death sentence. And we tell him, you're like, we, I think we let him know, you know, maybe we just,
Starting point is 00:40:00 I wonder how we do that to just fucking troll him. Like, we tap his phone and every day we text him We're like, oh, I see you taking a shit today. Yeah, right? Just to scare him have a nice day The United States of America just every day. He's like fuck I got to change my number But think about it. He's like okay. That's super funny But that's why we know because we probably are doing shit like that. Yeah, all right That's how I do it if I work to the CIA I'd find that hilarious and I'm not saying I would actually want to kill him ever I'm just like let's just let him know where he's at. Oh, I would I'd be like oh I see you're eating roast beef for then I enjoy it
Starting point is 00:40:34 And then just send that all right So the second scenario was Nukie Ukraine. Why would they do that? They fuckable the land they need the land They want to be that they need the port and They wanna be the. They need the port. And then what was, then another one was like maybe potentially doing like Poland. And fuckin' up a supply chain. He was, Peter was mentioning that in order for them to get all of these ports in the supply chain areas,
Starting point is 00:41:00 they would have to take over Germany, Poland, Ukraine. There was several others like Erzbekistan or I don't even know. There was like five other countries. There's no fucking way. It was like over 180 million people or something. You'd get out of it. Something insane.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Yeah. Or 200 million people. I mean the EU for one is the European Union. Not gonna happen. I think they all part of that treaties would have to come together and fight those battles themselves. It's like invading Europe will be a pain in the ass for anybody. I think they all part of their treaties would have to come together and fight those battles themselves. It's like invading Europe will be a pain in the ass for anybody because they'd all stick
Starting point is 00:41:30 that they'd have to stick together because of those treaties. So he's not doing that. So what Peter is saying is basically Russia's fucked. Yeah. Because all the money's going towards Ukraine. They don't have any leadership. They just got oil. That's it. have any leadership. They just got oil. So and then he also was saying that China is screwed too
Starting point is 00:41:48 because they have this crazy dictatorship leader who seems a lot like Putin. I don't know enough about this guy. And they're saying that because of their situation and them not having any younger generation because they didn't have kids and there was that whole one One kid protocol that they had for what the last 50 fucking year dude's a long time so they're saying my life for sure I Think it said something like what did it say okay? It said a hundred million people oh And we really don't know how many people live there because again we don't know if the news is real same as russia we don't know if the news that they're giving us is true or not right but they're saying that
Starting point is 00:42:32 s there the sixty year olds is like sixty and older is most of the generation in china so they're fucked to uh... so they're not gonna do anything they're not gonna throw any nukes down. Yeah That was it was wild What did they say their labor increases much higher so now China? There's Peter was saying they haven't advanced much in the last 13 years Putin lied to the to the President of China as well so they don't have a good relationship anymore. Yeah. We won't sell the Chinese anything just like we won't sell Russia anything anymore so
Starting point is 00:43:10 they're fucked because we import or we export everything to them. We just give it to other countries. They can't get anything. None of these countries are going to give them anything. So they're screwed. I didn't realize that America was like the best land for growing food, the best land for transporting in mass, because of the rivers.
Starting point is 00:43:28 Like we can just send things down there. Think about that, right? Why that's so important. It's like, well, what do we need rivers for? We can just drive on the roads. Not when we don't have oil. Right. Not when things run out, but rivers flow.
Starting point is 00:43:39 It's cheap. It's cheap. Well, if they're flowing the right way, they go that direction. You just gotta get in it with your fucking We can move stuff potentially all over or at least over a lot of our land Really effectively more importantly we can grow the food. We have giant lakes for water, right? I mean well, but how crazy is it for so this guy is saying that the Chinese are gonna be fucked in within 10 years
Starting point is 00:44:07 How crazy is it for so this guy is saying that the Chinese are going to be fucked in within 10 years. Yeah, one decade. Yeah, and there's We're not talking about a century here. Also, there's nothing they can do. No, they say they import all of their food and energy. Well, but is important Yeah, this isn't even speculation really because it's a population issue It's like people can't live longer than they're gonna live. We've shown this for thousands of years. And they're all old. They're gonna die, guaranteed. And they do not have people to replace them. And no one wants to immigrate that. Somebody wasn't thinking about that. They fucked up, dude.
Starting point is 00:44:34 I feel in a way, I feel bad for them. Those poor people are gonna have to live with no help. Well, and, dude, so I'm looking at these stats again. He said it would kill 500 million people within a year if we put sanctions on the Chinese So if they try to fuck with anyone Like us or any of these bigger countries that have power They're screwed. They have to Pornly have the resources, but that fuck I feel like a lot of people are always saying oh China's gonna do this and China's gonna take over
Starting point is 00:45:02 I mean, I kind of had that mindset too. People have been saying it right because they build everything But it sounds like they were very wrong According to this dude. Yeah, I mean, I don't know But I've heard other people say and stuff like this. I've heard Elon say things like this about I'm having some kids. Yeah, it's 100% it is not a joke. No for real real. It's, he's like full real, you need to have like 10. No one, they said it's one tenth of the price to move stuff around on ships, and we have all the ships. Yeah, dude.
Starting point is 00:45:32 Crazy, man. Yeah. Well, we need to start learning Spanish for one. Hello, the Mexicans. Oh, oh, oh. Our awesome. And so is South America, and I would love to see that connection happen.
Starting point is 00:45:45 And we're not just using our friends down south to make shit for cheap labor. I've got a few, indeed, that when it comes to connections, we've got to combine. Nations are colder than corporations, because they're so much bigger. That we forget that they are, because they're like, oh, they help other countries or give them charities, dude, I think you could look at a nation as like a giant organism and it wants to survive more than it wants any other nation to survive. So it will always position itself, you know, it just do it in a way to where it maybe doesn't look so bad to the rest of the world. If it's clever, but it's always going to position itself to be in the best spot.
Starting point is 00:46:33 I would love to pump a bunch of money into South America too. And bring up the economies there so they're not so poor. And they feel like they have a good life. But I think the people that run governments realize it's actually in a weird way better to keep other nations struggling and borrowing money off you so that you have all you're more likely to survive. How's just the sad reality? Yeah, I know that makes sense, but it's shitty. It sucks. I mean, I had never heard of the, what is it, the Cinelloa gang taking over
Starting point is 00:47:09 all the gangs in South Central and all that shit. I mean, I just never thought about it. Makes sense. Crazy, dude. Dude, literally, he said since 2004 until 2014, so from, for 10 years, from from 2004 to 2014 the dropping gang related crimes Was it like plummeted Mm-hmm in according to what Peter saying it's because
Starting point is 00:47:34 All these cartels were fucking people up. They didn't want them to be running the drugs. They wanted to be in control of the drugs But then how about the just one gang? Well, then way less fighting. It was interesting for Joe, of course, who wants to legalize all drugs, which I tend to agree with, but I don't think about the other consequences that would happen. He started getting into that too about how the murder rate in Mexico has skyrocketed because the cartels, but even if you were to get rid of that, they would just get into another sort of thing, like whether it's avocados or any other thing
Starting point is 00:48:10 that makes money, it might not make as much money as Coke. But they're going to do anything to make money. They're still going to kill motherfuckers. Yeah, but that's a bit of a weak argument because they're just going to make way less money for a while until, you know, he just won't, and then if it's also the thing that they're dealing in is legal, why would they,
Starting point is 00:48:33 they would just run it like a legal operation. I didn't know, I don't know. That argument didn't really stick with me. I was like, I don't think this guy thought that through all the way. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, it makes sense with the dispensaries that now you have a different set of problems, right? Because the feds still won't take money.
Starting point is 00:48:55 So now there's armored vehicles and cars and people getting robbed at dispensaries. So that would be happening if Coke was legal. True. Unless that was his biggest argument. He's like, look, I'm not saying it's better or worse, but there's other problems that you may not think about that happen if you can't use banks for your money. But that's the federal problem.
Starting point is 00:49:14 Yeah, but we have a friend here that runs a big marijuana company. Yeah, and he's working in cash. Yeah, and he's not getting a rest like Rob Dullet time, dude. This is not happening. No, but he's a scared of it. Yeah, but okay. So you're scared about all you've got actual Mexican gangs killing people on the street. Right.
Starting point is 00:49:31 How is that at a comparable again? It was a pretty weak argument. Yeah, I get it. Game rev though. That's terrible. No, I get it. Not well. I'm still I'm still in the Rogan camp on this one.
Starting point is 00:49:41 I think all drugs should be legalized. And heavily taxed, just like lead, maybe not as much, maybe not tax as much. Tax system is a little, they're getting two tax, you know, tax. But if it's the choice between, hey, do you want like legal, pure cocaine with a 40% tax on a whole no and you go to jail? Of course, Yes. No, and you go to jail. Of course. I just don't want to. I just want to go to jail. If you like that stuff, you're going to, you're going to get in there.
Starting point is 00:50:10 I don't. I don't. I don't. I just don't believe that it would, maybe it would spike consumption for a while, but education would become clear. You'd start looking around and seeing, oh, wait a minute. So Fred and John and whoever, they do a shitload of cocaine all the time and their lives are kind of falling apart.
Starting point is 00:50:29 I'm going to stay away from this thing, right? It's like that's kind of what happens when drugs get legalized. There will be some people that will fuck themselves up on it. I mean like alcohol, there are plenty of people in the US that fuck their lives up by drinking too much, but they're also, I of people in the US that fuck their lives up by drinking too much, but they're also, I would say more people that see alcoholics do what they do, or know someone that is and say, I'm not drinking them.
Starting point is 00:50:53 I get it. I mean, I'm looking this up right now, because I was curious. Marijuana youths among teens has not increased in states that have passed medical or recreational marijuana laws in the past 25 years. That's, so there you go. And the interesting fact.
Starting point is 00:51:07 It is because I because that was the other thing he said he's like, well, Joe asked him, do you think more people would use Coke if it was legal and he said, absolutely, I don't necessarily think that. I don't know. I think there needs to be education. I'm sure. Education. It's still going to be super expensive.
Starting point is 00:51:21 It's not like it's going to be cheap. But overall, a lot of what Peter was breaking down and looking at and he's probably looked at a lot of stats and things to i think i think that he's his specialty is more this like international understanding of yeah how these countries are moving and what they're doing since world war to i think this was more of an opinion for him that's true because if he, if he didn't have the stats. If he knew about it, he'd have that stat. He would know, oh, that's not going to happen.
Starting point is 00:51:50 Not as expertise. Yeah, I think it's just one of those. But like, think about it. So birth rate is a problem, though living in the US seems to be a great spot to be. Yeah. I just got back from England. I was there for a month and obviously like coaches
Starting point is 00:52:06 are different and you know we speak the same language for the most part. But you know there's different attitudes, there's different feelings for things, there's like different national you know kind of loyalty. And like the people that live there want to live there. They would think that the idea of moving to America for a lot of the people I know would just be like, oh no, I couldn't deal with all this. And you know, we're happy here on our little island. But when I look at the differences, I'm like, I don't know how you are.
Starting point is 00:52:36 You only are because you haven't seen America. Is what I would say. It's just like they, I don't think they got much in the way of natural resources. They're good farmers. I'll tell you that much. That might be their saving grace for how small they are and how many people they have there, which you would think would be a big problem for growing food. I think they're very good. A lot of land.
Starting point is 00:52:58 No, it's not a lot of land. No, I'm saying it's in comparison to the bit like buildings, right? There's a lot of farmland, even though it's a small area Yeah, like a lot of like you said a lot of people still farm exactly They're not they're not putting buildings over top of the farm There's a lot of people still farming. Yeah, they've done it well on that island for thousands of years So the very effective at doing it till we run out of fertilizers that could be their resource But yeah, it's not like they have oil, gas, and fucking, you know, any of these,
Starting point is 00:53:27 it's not like steels coming out of the ground, but they don't have a lot of national resources. So when things start falling into pieces, an America can like hold it up. It's like, Britain, England will be there with a hand out. We got it. We got it. We got it.
Starting point is 00:53:43 We're allies. Let's go. Oh yeah, well, help them out. We're allies. Let's go. Oh, yeah. Well, help them out. But like, where else are we supposed to live? I want to live in China. No, I wouldn't even go. Don't be in Russia. On vacation in Russia right now.
Starting point is 00:53:51 Fuck no. That seems so dangerous. Why? They're very rescue. No thanks. I like CBD. Mm. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:59 That's not funny. That's not funny. Sorry. She's out. That's true. They did a hell of a trade well I would recommend I would yeah man good week I would recommend Brett and Peters for sure yeah if you like Dave listen to it I didn't think there were too many
Starting point is 00:54:14 bangers in that one but Brett and Peters yeah podcast this week but some but just like a boss lot of good news man a lot of good fucking facts out there yeah I got to learn more about that Peter guard for sure And I think that he's someone to watch especially if In the next 10 years one of his predictions is I mean we're gonna start seeing that happen soon It's like surprise even made out of COVID Anyway We're not getting new folks. That's what I'm thinking. So feel
Starting point is 00:54:45 good about that. And until next week, see you later. Adios amigos. Thank you.
