Hey guys and welcome to another episode of the Joe Rogan
experience review where we review good old Joe Rogan.
And what is he up to this week?
Join us always by my co host Pete, Peter, Mr.
Ackinson. How are you, bud?
Hey, I'm doing pretty good. How about you?
Hmm. Yeah, not bad. The winter weather is moving in big cold
front or whatever they call it in the US and it's
hit Tennessee with some snow that really we weren't expecting. It's more snow than I know.
Yeah, it's snow. It's a little bit. I guess this is like El Nino stuff. I don't really know about that.
I guess that means it's weathery. It's extra weatherry. It's lovely and sunny
where I am. Ooh. Okay. Yeah. Getting some sunburn on my freshly shaved head.
Careful. Yeah. Careful. Put some aloe. Aloe on your scalp. Aloe hat. All right.
Who we got this week? So Rogan was talking to Charles Wesley Godwin.
I don't know much of his music.
I really want to check some of his music out.
Seems like a cool guy.
And Duncan Trussle was the one that turned Joe on to him with a good music choice there. And some old friends coming to visit Rogan,
Jim Brewer, one of the guys Rogan started comedy with played a pivotal role in Rogan
really pushing himself to become better comedian after following Jim. Yeah, Jim, Jim had like an absolute kill. I don't know if
Rogan Bond first or Rogan may have had Jim open for him. And Jim was so good that it
made Rogan nervous and then Rogan Bond. Anyway, either way, Rogan really kind of went back
to the drawing boards and said,
I need a push harder, I need to get better at this, which is the best attitude to have.
And then Good old Jim Norton, who is God bless him, one of the stranger comics out there
but an absolute OG, total legend.
We'll see if we have time to get to him.
It's difficult to review the comedian friends of old
because they've been on a bunch
and then they often just start chatting
just two old friends about what's going on.
And the difference is, look at Charles,
you get kind of a breakdown in history of who he is,
what his journey is,
how he got to where he is.
When you get Brian Redband on or other comedians
that have been on lots of times,
almost like Jordan Peterson these days
has been on so much that they don't give you
the whole dialogue of who they are, where they are.
It's just what they've been
doing recently. So you work with what you got. Yeah.
You work with what you got. Anyway, Charles Wesley, Godwin. Let's, let's, let's I'd like to hear it. I'm gonna see you. I'm gonna see you. How was your day? Good.
Good.
I'm gonna see you.
I'm gonna see you.
I'm gonna see you.
I'm gonna see you.
How was your day?
Good.
I'm gonna see you.
I'm gonna see you.
I'm gonna see you.
I'm gonna see you.
I'm gonna see you.
I'm gonna see you.
I'm gonna see you.
I'm gonna see you.
I'm gonna see you.
I'm gonna see you.
I'm gonna see you.
I'm gonna see you.
I'm gonna see you. I'm gonna see you. I'm gonna see you. I'm gonna see you. I'm gonna see you. Just keep an alright's long They can watch us chase those dreams they never even knew
Oh yeah, hell yeah
This guy's good
I don't know if I'm allowed to sample that much of anyone's music probably not
So if you're listening Charles, I really apologize
And I don't know, I don't know what the move is there
If you want me to change it, I guess
I probably can. But also, you know, we are kind of reviewing you. So I think it's part of
it. Very good. Wholesome. So full. Yeah. And it sounds like he's from the area that you're
in, that Southeast, that kind of Tennessee
time. I think he was like Virginia or something, right? He was saying hill hill folk, mine
people. No, I think just good old good old American. The the thing about musicians and I know
a few that I feel are very talented and many other people do,
and they really haven't broken through, right?
Yeah.
And then you hear someone like him
and you're just like, ooh, this is,
this is a kind of next level.
This is better, you know, even though,
it just seems so difficult
to really kind of break through with music.
Like I bet there's been a lot of very talented musicians that didn't quite get there.
They just didn't have that break.
But then again, often you hear someone like Zach Bryan who, um, Charles is like open
for and Zach's kind of taking him under his wing to kind of
give him a lot of exposure.
And there is like a level of quality that just gets kind of ridiculously high and it's
undeniable.
He's definitely got it, whatever that is.
Whatever that is.
Also, he's in the right area of the world.
I think he lives in Austin.
Yeah.
I think North Korea would be a bad spot
for him to be this good.
Yeah, or maybe even in South Korea,
they like a different kind of stuff over there.
Techno, I would imagine.
Stuff you can film when you're Galaxy Samsung phone.
The, uh, a pop.
They like some heavily produced dance, dance numbers.
Get that.
Nice.
Got to have confetti.
Any boys?
Yeah, what the it is is unusual, but, um, it's nice to see even if you don't listen to certain types of music.
That's why I love it when somebody turns me under a type of music I don't listen to.
It's like a whole genre of music that I generally don't put on and they're like, do, but seriously
check this dude out.
And it just crushes.
It kind of goes beyond this genre.
I'm like, whoa, I never even listened to that type of music.
And then, you know, you used to play like a lot of, what, bluegrass and kind of stuff
with fiddles and banjos, I remember.
A lot of fiddling in my day.
And of a peltic music, both music.
Yeah, you're a big fan.
And it would generally never have made my playlist.
I mean, maybe some of the more Irishy sounding stuff,
but often you would put some tracks on
that would just like, oh, this is good.
What this is, just for whatever reason resonates with me.
And I don't know, I wouldn't have expected it too.
This guy does something very similar.
I like it. His voice is amazing.
He mentioned that he was only an intermediate guitar player. He started late.
Yeah, he still thinks he's not that great. But how good do you need to be? Not everyone needs
to be a Jimmy Hendrix, right? I mean get a good tune, get fantastic lyrics and
you know strum four chords. I think they say that a lot about the Beatles
music. It was not that complicated in general.
And for Beatles, right?
They made some money. They got into, you know, he was, he was struggling, not that long ago, 2021, really struggling.
This is the type of story that Rogan loves.
It's like the comeback story, you know, redemption or just kind of like perseverance.
You know, he wasn't making any money, hemorrhaging money. 2021, COVID, shut everything down.
They weren't really touring the same way.
I mean, that happened to a good friend of mine,
Rob Linus, who's a musician, excellent musician.
And I knew when I lived in Santa Monica,
same thing got shut down.
All of a sudden your revenue is done.
Charles was barely able to pay his group, you know, like half the money that they should be making. And what was really cool is they pulled together and said, Hey, who
cares? We're in it. Let's go. I believe in this, you know, that's a real brotherhood.
That kind of trust. I mean, don't get me wrong.
Paid off for them in a big way.
I'm sure they're doing very well right now.
That kind of loyalty speaks, but it also may have not done that.
So you got to give it to them.
That's brave.
That was a wild time.
Did they weather the storm then?
They did okay?
Sounds like it.
Well, I mean, they're doing great now.
Yeah, they're doing great now, but back then, I mean, they weren't getting paid much
to start with, and then they went half pay.
That's something.
Great.
They were able to keep it going?
100%. That's really cool. And then he starts opening up for people that had some big
names. And Zach Bryan kind of took him on the road. And Zach has such a fan base. I mean, it's massive.
But that guy's phenomenal.
And with that kind of exposure, I mean, everything just blows up then.
It pays to have some people like Duncan Trustle tell you, tell Joe Rogan about your awesomeness.
That's for sure.
It's a big deal. It's a big deal.
But look how close they were to not making it.
This is the thing.
If you believe in something, you've got to have faith.
I mean, it's harder to do depending on what your circumstances are.
If you have a huge family, if you have a family at all, kids,
I mean, it's hard to take those risks because you feel almost
negligent. But if you believe in what you're doing enough, I mean, to not do it, imagine
if, if enough of them kind of stepped forward and said, you know what, let's go back to
what we were doing before. We just got to pay our bills and survive. The whole thing
would have shut down. And what a shame. They would have thought about that. The whole rest of their life. How close could we have been?
How close?
I don't know, man. I'm all all for people to push.
And they got the multiple skills and they do that. Then it's a life not wasted. That's for sure. They did the right thing, picking the risk.
I it's a life not wasted. That's for sure. They did the right thing. Taking the risk.
100% I mean, Joe talked about remembering a lot of comics, comedians that he knew early on that
so many funny people and but the road is treacherous and it takes more than just being funny.
Like you got to show up. You got to be disciplined. Hard work.
You've got to just keep coming back.
You know?
Was it this one he was talking about the 10 years,
if you have 10 years comedic hammering experience
out on the road, then you're not an expert yet?
Yeah, 100%.
With comedy, it's different.
I, music, there are plenty of phenomenal artists that came for,
I mean, Taylor Swift was world famous at what, like, 18. I mean, she may have been playing music
for 10 years before that, but she didn't have, like, 10 years of road gigs, you know. It's like,
almost no comedian is at their best and crushing it until they're
At the earliest maybe 30
This is why comedians like Eddie Murphy are such outliers and even though she a pal is seen as the goat
It there's a good argument for it being Eddie because he had some of the best specials ever it. I think like 21 to 23 like way too soon
to be that good way too soon. But yeah, comedy is comedy is
like getting a black balance you get to it. It's it's brutal.
It's painful and you're going gonna get some injuries. That's my take.
You got to stick to it. Oh yeah. And you got to go through those tough times,
which this guy did. And you know, I think that plays into the music too. I mean,
music is like the most beautiful poetic example of like these challenges happened and you're going to find lyrics in it.
I mean, you would hope so.
You know, Joe even says out of like a thousand open micas that become professional
comedians, you know, it's like maybe one,
ever gets the point of really selling tickets or selling on a show being the
draw to sell a show.
I mean, I sold tickets once for a show, being the draw to sell a show.
I mean, I sold tickets once for a show I did, but the only tickets that I personally sold
were people that I knew that were my friends
or someone I was dating that came to the show.
It wasn't like some random person I didn't know,
saw my name on the flyer and was like,
I need to buy a ticket to this. No. If. If you get to the I need to buy a ticket stage like that's very rare.
That's very rare and very impressive. What else did you enjoy about this guy? Pete. Is
look. He's got the look. Got the look. That's a big part of it, right? As a musician,
you got to have a look. You have to have a look. You're look cool. He should not be wearing
dockers and a tucked in polo. No, this guy's rock star. Mm-hmm. Can't be wearing a tuxedo
t-shirt. We're not actually now. You probably can do that. Oh, he could. Yeah. I'm back when you say that.
I'm like, I'm going to go see that show.
This guy's a pro.
I like me.
Sima, Donald country, country, picture, blah.
Mm hmm.
As country as you might think yourself, there's always somebody who's more of a cowboy
than you.
Right.
I think this guy out cowboys me.
Lussy doesn't do any cowboy stuff.
He talks like it.
He talks, he talks the talk.
Let's see if he walks the walk.
He sings the walk, I guess.
He brings up one of my favorite points about Rogan.
He's obviously a Rogan fan.
So listen to Rogan.
But he kind of went into that famine mentality
when they're the abundance mindset.
And you know, it sounds cheesy, but it really does work.
It's like being, don't be jealous of people being spired.
And so many people get jealous.
So many people like, oh, that guy just does that.
It's dumb.
And then they find they're excused and I like it.
But really, most people are looking at other people's success
and wanting it for themselves.
Now maybe they don't want to do it in the exact same way that the individual they're looking
at did it, you know?
I mean, I guess bar criminal behavior and, you know, insider trading, Nancy Pelosi, but
if you're doing it in an honorable way or a way that doesn't
commit crimes or hurt anybody, then why should anyone shift on you? And people like to do it.
People are resentful and those people when or anyone that thinks that way is way less
likely to get ahead.
And you definitely don't want to be friends with those people. Once you figure out who they or anyone that thinks that way is way less likely to get ahead.
And you definitely don't want to be friends with those people. Once you figure out who they are,
get away from those people, they will bring you down.
They're jealous of the outcome,
but they're also jealous of the ability to put in work.
You still know how to put it, put in the right work.
100%.
100%.
All right, let's jump over to good old Jim Brewer after covering Charles, but I like that guy. I got to check out more of
his music. I recommend you guys do the same. If you want to hold some, you know, family
fun. That's how I described him. All right right Jim Brewer. Good old Jim.
I remember this guy.
The first time I ever saw him was in the movie Half Baked by Dave Chappelle.
He has some of the most incredible little monologues.
When he was super high in ordering pizza, you remember that scene?
Is that the one we just know I care, which one that is? Oh it's so good. Let's play it.
You lose our munchies tonight yo. That me.
I guess sad to be me. What do you guys want?
Get some sour cream and onion chips with some dip man some beef jerky some peanut
butter get some hot and diced ice cream bars make sure chocolate gotta have
chocolate man some popcorn bread popcorn graham crackers graham crackers is the
marshmallows little marshmallows and little chocolate bars and we make some
some more this man yeah that's what I'm saying. Yo, what a f***.
Well, it's a celery, grape jelly,
a capped in clunch with the Luke crunch berries.
Peas is, we need two big peas is made.
Everything on them with water,
a whole lot of water,
and...
Bunions.
That's it.
Yeah.
Haha, I gotta have fun.
That bit is like really for anyone that's smuggled weed in high school and got that level
of stone, you know how hungry you can get.
You know all the weird stuff.
Yeah, and it's during that time in your life when you
can literally eat cereal every day and, and your shape stays mostly the same. Like you're
very resilient. So just take it down. Yeah. Just. And it's see, a com with the spoon he's driving into the McFlurry the soft serve the red
smarties the hot fudge and there's
the swirl move and the raptors
fans are eating it up. The
see a com swirl McFlurry for
a limited time at participating
McDonald's in Canada excluding
Quebec. Jumping into it that movie
has so many great bits. I think
I'm going to watch it tonight.
It's so good. It's been a while since I watched that for sure. But legend,
legend of a guy. Legend of a guy. How did they start jumping in? Oh, go ahead.
What were you gonna say? Oh, I was just about to say that my first time I saw him was in set in life as the goat boy. Oh, brilliant.
Brilliant.
He had really good characters in that.
He hated working for that show.
One of the times he was on Rogan, he talked about it and he fucking hated SNL.
He was late.
It was cutthroat.
Everyone's out for you.
Yeah.
He's not into that kind of world, but You know, that's how it goes. How did they get on to to the Gaddafi stuff?
It seemed like they started with it pretty much
Just about how public opinion can shape our our reality like and
Gaddafi was good for Africa bad for the United States because he didn't he wanted to get away from the dollar
He was doing good stuff for Africa, and for the United States, because he didn't, he wanted to get away from the dollar. He was doing good stuff for Africa.
And you know how we, we don't like that.
We don't like when other countries are doing well and then are doing what we tell them.
Well, I think it's more that we don't want them to not do what we're telling them, right?
It's like, you don't, I'm sure the US has an entity.
I mean, this is an interesting thing that
actually was brought up on Rogan once,
is like if you look at, you should look at countries,
nation states, as corporations, companies, okay?
Because they sell bonds, I mean, they basically are like,
in a sense, like on the stock market in a way.
And they have currency, you can buy into that.
That's a form of trading.
So they basically are the same as a company, but there are company that has their own military.
And then when you look at the United States, there is no, let's say they're all corporations, right?
We just name countries as corporations, corporations as corporations, everything is like that.
Anything that makes money.
The US is the history of the world's biggest corporation.
And they happen to be backed up by the biggest military force of all time.
Right?
So, if other countries are jeopardizing that, like any company that is protecting itself,
they're going to respond.
And if they have the ability to control the media or put some influence on it, spin some things,
they're gonna do it.
And now, I'm not saying that this Gaddafi guy
was a great guy, I don't mean that at all.
But it's like, if you're trying to take
the petro dollar away, that's a big threat to us to us and then he was I think he was part of one of those big canals
That were gonna be really useful in that area you for trade and things like that and
It was it was just a bunch of things started to align that didn't work for us
And I say oh, so don't be me, but I mean the US, I'm a citizen here. I love
this country. But also sometimes I'm like, eh, maybe we could have found a different way.
But yeah, anyway, Hillary Clinton and good old Barack, they helped get that guy killed.
Yeah, they certainly did. And he did not die brutally.
Yeah.
They was rough.
They shoved up his butt hole.
Yeah, he got but hold.
Damn it.
Dude, that's not how you want to go.
I think that that's a pretty much a, that's how people like that go.
I think when Benito Mussolini probably also went like that.
Mm hmm.
Well, dude, they're burning the candle above fans.
Saddam, they were having wild lives
where they got to do whatever they wanted
for a very long time,
and they probably did get up to all sorts of shady shit.
Well, let's be fair,
because you would, if nobody checks your behavior.
And, you know, eventually, maybe it's karma, but somebody's going to put
the kebash on that and not in a fun way. So you decide, do you want the high highs and the low
lows, or do you want to just kind of stay more chill? Let's stay high until they get a bear net in the
butt. So that's what happened. Have you seen Sasha Baron Cohen's the dictator?
I think that was based off of Muammar.
It was? Yeah. I thought it was like a sedam thing, or maybe a compilation of all of them.
Probably a mix of the two. He had his karate virgin bodyguards.
Oh yeah, that was Giddafi, right? The women that would protect him, but like new karate and like,
was super hot.
It's super hot.
Oh, yeah, Libyans.
You think you think he would make them like fight amongst themselves.
And then he would just bang him all.
I think he called him his nuns.
And then sure he was, he banged him all.
Oh, yeah.
Wow. Good. I'm going
to have to do a little more research on Gaddafi. I, I, we need to know more about what our
countries up to and there are our methods and our goals here. Mm-hmm. Yeah, or at least some
of the banging stories. That'd be, it's just fun to read. It's fun. It's good reading. It'd be like, wait a minute. You did what?
Hats off, sir. Hopefully there was no trauma caused.
Come, blah. They got into it. It was a typical
Rogan conversation with his, with his good buddy. They went,
they went, they did a lot of well with a lot of wherewolf talk.
So excellent. We werewolf impersonations.
They were, I don't know, Joe could do that.
Brewer is hilarious just because he will start kind of, he gets so excited and then he'd
just be like, and then he just kind of go off on this tangent
and it's almost like his excitement is so high
that he can't make sense of the short little point
that he's trying to make.
Because it did, like often didn't come through.
And it's very much him though to do that.
He just keeps saying stuff like, imagine, you know, but what,
imagine, you're like, imagine what, you know, it's like, I know you're talking about,
I get the same way when I get excited, I'm all over the place.
I get it. I got it. Well, he doesn't, I don't even think he smokes weed or does any drugs
or even drinks anymore. And he still sounds like the biggest stoner on the planet
Yeah, he looks
Squinty he's squinty. He looks sleepy. Yeah, he's a perfect
Persley with Jim
Hmm, what did you think about the new study that
Do you think about the new study that finds that the PhDs, I guess it's not a new study. I looked at it.
It was a study from 2021 July, but the vaccine had been released then.
It showed that the PhDs, the most highly educated in our society were the most skeptical
of taking the vaccine and what the vaccine was.
I was interesting because we didn't hear
anything about that back then.
We really didn't know.
It was just mind the science, trust the science
and the scientist didn't trust the science, turns out.
Well, that said something.
It also makes sense.
It's just something that they say
and one comes to like the Fauci was lying.
There's no science behind the six foot distance masks.
Might be bad for you.
Well, yeah, six foot social distancing. masks might be bad for you. My blah blah blah.
Yeah, six foot social distancing.
I personally saw comedy shows closed down in Venice because there was basically the police
came in to shut it down.
It really was what it was was a noise complaint and nosy ass, you know, neighbors that
wanted to snitch on people around them. And the police came, they were like, they had
measuring tape between the tables. And even when it was that like six foot, they still
found a way to close it down.
So they had an agenda.
They came into like, close them.
I don't know what the agenda for the LA police was
other than shut everything down that looks fun.
But they came in, they had tape measures.
We were like, the tables are six feet apart.
And they're like, well, you know, there's too many people in this small area. And I'm like, is that a law?
And they didn't need to justify at all. They didn't they didn't come back at with anything.
They just kept ignoring us and then shut the whole thing down.
They kept like unplugging the system
that had the mic going because one of the comedians was like heckling them while holding the mic and they didn't
like that. And look, I know they were doing their job. They were probably told
something. It's not that fault. But who's telling them anything? And then we
we then we years later find out that six foot was just made up, it wasn't science, it was like someone said it
and it sounded good.
Is that how we do science?
Remember when he was like, trust the science, trust the science.
And trusting the science is just doing something that sounds good.
At Salesforce, we're all about asking more of AI.

What about when those surfers are getting arrested for being in the ocean?
Yeah, dude.
I saw one of that happen.
Did I ever tell you about that?
I think you may have.
Yeah.
Well, that may be why you know, but it was also like big news. I saw one of the
people that I knew have that happen to him. He tested the body of mine. And he was like,
What's us inside?
My body was like, get down to the beach. Someone's getting, oh, one of my bodies is getting
arrested. And I went down, I like, I barely knew the guy. He came into the bar a few times,
but it was the whole thing was just the spectacle I had to see with knew the guy. He came into the bar a few times, but the whole thing was just the spectacle
I had to see with my own eyes
because so much of this was like,
have you seen this with your own eyes?
Are you seeing this happen in front of you?
And that wasn't happening.
A lot of people were like, oh, the hospitals are full.
I'm like, have you gone there?
Well, we never needed to have to do all
of the research ourselves. And then of course, even the term research now has has like a little
star next to it. And on social media at the bottom, it's like COVID-19 review by some fucking
dumb government agency that you need to look at before you listen to
this.
It's like, hey, research is just like looking into it yourself.
Sorry, I'm not a researcher, but I saw this happen and it was not good.
Not good.
Got arrested.
Not good.
And I've heard someone else say, how will we ever trust you again?
Why should we ever listen to you all again in the regards to this sort of thing?
And I'm not bored.
Yeah, but you know what?
You can't have that supposedly if you want to be Sam Harris and the followers of Sam Harris
because you got to believe institutions because they're the only thing that holds society together.
I do not agree.
I'm sorry, Sam Harris, but I feel like that holds society together. I do not agree.
I'm sorry, Sam Harris, but I feel like institutions
need to gain our trust, the trust of, let's say,
the ignorant.
And if you can't do that, then the only way you can
lead moving forward is with tyranny.
And you're not going to get to do that in the US.
So you either gain our trust again, or you continue doing what you did.
But yeah, you fucked up, nerds.
I'm not a big one in institution, I guess.
It's interesting that Sam is because he wants to tear down the biggest institution,
which is the churches.
He wants to do away with all that stuff, which is ironic, right?
So I guess you can pick and choose your institutions these days, what you believe in.
I don't know.
Follow the science.
Follow it.
All right.
Well, we got monkey attacks.
That was a, that was a fun conversation.
Even hearing Rogan just describe like, God bless him.
He's so fun.
When he's just kind of think him through a problem, he's like, oh, okay.
I think you can get this monkey
and slam it into the ground enough times and take it out.
It's like, let's take a second, just a step back
and realize this is the most listened to thing in the world.
And I'm not taking anything away from what he's saying
because that is a fun little scenario to just carry out
from like a masculine point of view.
And then always do this.
Well, but also when people listen to him,
and I've had girls that have dated be like,
oh, they'd hear a clip from him,
and he's like, oh, they'd be like,
just smashing a monkey into the, I'm like, listen, you've got to understand how men's like, oh, they'd be like, just smashing a monkey into the, I'm like, listen,
you've got to understand how men's brains,
it's like, we're not trying to smash monkeys
into the ground.
But we thought about it a lot.
We thought about it.
Like, I'm sure I'm not alone in this
when I remember as a little kid,
like, what would I do if a dog attacked me?
Oh, I would choke, I'd take him down and choke him out. We have to think about this stuff. It will happen.
You got to think about it. Well, it now, even if it doesn't happen, it's like they
will win. We want to feel safe with the men that they're with. And they don't need men
that can kill monkeys and choke dogs out. But I would recommend that you have a man that is at least considered it once.
He might have a bit of a game plan.
There's a fine nuance to choking out a colota smunky.
Hmm.
Well, there's a, did you see that clip of the Indian guy, the poor Indian, sweet Indian man sitting
on the ground with his monkey coming up to him and then, yeah, it sinks as canines into his scalp and rips off like three by six
inch piece of its head. Oh, yeah, it takes his hair off. Oh, to the bone. I was in a Buddhist
monastery in Sri Lanka once and I have a picture of this on my Facebook.
Don't go to it, folks.
But it's me crouching down and I went to feed this monkey
and there were a bunch of them.
I think they were, I don't know what kind of monkey they were.
Not bad boons, they were smaller than that,
but their faces weren't hairy.
They had skin-looking faces. And all of the faces were gray, but their faces weren't hairy. They had like skin-looking faces.
And all of the faces were gray, but there was this red face monkey.
And I knew, I was like, oh, you the ginger of monkeys.
I knew it was a problem.
It was either the king of the monkey people in that area
or just a ginger monkey.
The worst one.
Well, it was the boldest.
And he came up for a snack, and I fed it to him.
And when he took it, he also lunged at me to bite me, and my response was not intended,
but just like reactive.
And I booted it.
So, and I apologize.
I apologize to the monkey and to the people, the Buddhist monastery because it's a non-violent
place.
And you need to respect that.
But I was scared and I just kicked it.
So I booted this thing.
Well, the people around and the Buddhist there did not see me feeding it and doing anything
They just saw this white guy kick a monkey and they were not very happy
But they are fucking vicious dude
They'll steal your babies
Dude, I went to give it like a piece of like crackle or bread or something that I had
I was like, yeah, he's come up, he looks cute,
he's just asking for something, you could tell.
And I had to give him a boot.
I mean, it was a small one, but it was so aggressive.
I mean, there's just, they whole energy behind them.
It's like, they're terrifying, dude.
Yeah, they're scary.
If they wanna be.
Hmm. All right, what was this about the Nazis? They're scary if they if they want to be Hmm
All right, what was this about the Nazis we got some notes here. Oh
What we got here oh
The sword fighting Nazis. Oh slice in that face
They'll do each other and almost intentionally get cut in the face to but look that much more hardened
Hmm it would work.
Yeah, I heard there was some fake Nazi cutting though. I think they did that too. They intentionally
like, that's real cuts, but you know, maybe you don't always get it from a duel, but they were
doing, they were cutting each other with swords. How lame is that that you have to cut yourself to be
swords. How lame is that that you have to cut yourself to be cool.
It's a lot about that. I think you would know though. If you had a bunch of you in a room, and you had some real hard and fellas that have been doling, and then, you know, some
tech nerd walks in, and he's like, Oh, yeah, I got in a big duel last week. And everyone's like,
really? Why did no one see this?
What was the move that did you in there, Carl?
Within within a two or three minutes of interrogation, they would know that guy's full of shit. And then it's it's so much more
pathetic than not even having a cut to do it yourself.
They did it to impose. They were like, they want to do it yourself. They did it to impose. They were like, they want to do it to guys who are in the business of scaring people.
So they thought, well, this isn't if you look that much more badass. Might as well do it.
At Enterprise, we know you're constantly on the move.
Getting this. Thanks, Mom.
Fixing that.
You reach a destination. And then it's on to the move. Getting this? Thanks, Mom. Fixing that. You reach a destination. And then
it's on to the next. And when life is moving at the speed of, well, life. Enterprise is
right there with you, around the corner and around the globe. We'll keep you moving
forward. Enterprise, for lives and drive
Yeah, they did a lot of shit that it really didn't think through
Yes me while dueling is is tough. I will give him that for those that did it that is tough and
It's kind of surprising me. We're still doing it up until that point, but you know
It'll do in the six. They were trying to take on the whole world. So, you know, they had to toughen themselves up. They almost won.
We do.
Yeah, well, I do not condone that behavior.
No.
No, McDonald, no McDonald has a bit about the Germans.
Oh, the best.
Winning, almost winning the world twice.
Yeah.
And they went to war again with the world.
So he's a great, great comedian. He's the greatest soul.
He's the greatest. Well, they actually went on to show some videos from there
about actual duels that we do now with the, with the, the, uh,
armored up guys with blunted weapons going at each other.
Friend of mine does that actually.
No, it's like the nerdiest thing you could do, but it's also very dangerous.
Do you think you could take him?
This guy is 6-1, about 3-50. He's a former wrestler. He is an X ax man. I put on his stuff one night. We were
had we were getting pretty loaded up. Wait, wait, what is an ax man? He's an ax man. He's
the guy that would be with the ax. You know, he's a big, a big husky gentleman that would
wield an ax. He's training in an ax. Yeah, I don't, I don't want to go against that guy.
No, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he go against that guy. No, he will he put me up. I put on his gear and he was he didn't have any on and
He's there's moves just like everything else. There's training
Trained versus the untrained and he's gonna smash you
He did he put put it to me a little bit, but he didn't
You think if you went full force he would wreck you
Yeah, no shit. Yeah, if we were all in both an armor with weapons
He's been he's trained far more than me. Oh, wow
That's amazing how liking style fighting. Yeah, that's brutal
Like smash and slash you smash people then you slash people smash and slash
So a bit of pillaging the people get really injured doing this.
It seems like they would be points in your armor that would just be a big problem.
Well, the ultimate goal back in the day was to kill your opponent.
And that's find a weakness in your armor, slight of blade in.
Hmm.
Smash their face in with your shield.
But nowadays it's more like knock them over. So mac them a few times if they if they tap they tap
Wow, that's cool you got to do that
Yeah, and knowing you you would you would just like put on armor and give it a shot
I did it give it a shot. You you like to do that. I love that. It's fun.
All right, last bit, downtown LA.
Get in with it.
Zombie movie.
I can attest, you know, when I left in late 2020,
I left early like Rogan.
I went back September 2020 and it was,
it really was like a zombie movie.
The homeless out of control, just nuts.
I mean, it was such a disappointment because I love that place.
It was so great.
It was great when we were doing comedy.
It was great just to live there.
Like obviously Venice had a large homeless community, but there was like an understanding,
you know, people kept to their own and things worked.
There was a society amongst a huge homeless community. Obviously, down in Skid Row, it was worse.
Like, it wasn't, it's not good for the homeless, like, really anywhere, but there was just a balance there.
It wasn't like the police had to harass them all the time or felt pressured
People didn't feel unsafe
You know, there was just a place for everybody and that changed and
I've been back a couple of times since it seems to have settled down, but there's
There's a different energy there now. It's not the same
You know, I mean I would have recommended any one young
that's just kind of exploring adventure, like at some point in the US to go out to LA,
the kind of definitely Venice Santa Monica area, if you could.
But now I don't know. I don't think I recommend that.
It's unaffordable, as well as very dangerous. Mm-hmm.
Maybe come back around. I mean everything does in time. I say will. I think it will.
But it was ugly. What's the people get ran off? I think it has a swing a little bit further.
Well now News newsams giving free healthcare
to illegal immigrants, which is they did people all over the world deserve healthcare, but,
you know, America phones, baby. I think America needs to come first in America. Yeah.
And the immigrants coming in here aren't just our neighbors to the South Mexicans.
They're the Africans, they're the Asians, the Chinese, so it's our countries getting
interesting.
It is.
It is.
Well, we don't need to bang on about Gavin Newsom until Biden drops out of the run and they try and put him in.
And then I will, I will campaign hard against Gavin. I'm afraid because I, I really don't like
a lot of what I saw from that guy. He's bad news. He's bad news.
Kind of like our Californian Justin Trudeau. Oh, yeah. 100%.
That's a great way of putting it.
Great way of putting it.
Anyway, that's the week.
And thank you guys so much, Gals and non binaries for listening.
We appreciate you as always.
And Pete enjoyed it.
Let's hit it next week and see what we got going on.
Love the Rogan world later folks.
Bless y'all. Bye.
