Starting point is 00:00:00 So what's it like to buy your first cryptocurrency on Kraken? Well, let's say I'm at a food truck I've never tried before. Am I gonna go all in on the loaded taco? No, sir. I'm keeping it simple. Starting small. That's trading on Kraken. Pick from over 190 assets and start with the 10 bucks in your pocket.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Easy. Go to kraken.com and see what crypto can be. Not investment advice. Crypto trading involves risk of loss. See kraken.com slash legal slash ca dash pru dash disclaimer for info on Kraken's undertaking to register in Canada. Bet mode activated. The ScoreBet app here with trusted stats and real-time sports news.
Starting point is 00:00:35 Yeah, hey, who should I take in the Boston game? Well, statistically speaking. Nah, no more statistically speaking. I want hot takes. I want knee-jerk reactions. That's not really what I do. Is that because you don't have any knees or? You are listening to the Joe Rogan Experience Review Podcast. We find little nuggets, treasures, valuable pieces of gold in the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast and pass them on to you, perhaps expand a little bit. We are not associated with
Starting point is 00:01:14 Joe Rogan in any way. Think of us as the talking dead to Joe's walking dead. You're listening to the Joe Rogan Experience Review. What a bizarre thing we've created. Now with your host, Adam Thorne. Might either be the worst podcast or the best one of all time. One, go. Enjoy the show. What's up, motherfuckers, and welcome to the Joe Rogan Experience Review. As always, join by, whoa, coming in with my co-host Pete. What's cracking dude?
Starting point is 00:01:50 What's happening Adam good to see you brother. I know we got some good. Hello everybody this week good guess We got Craig Jones Holland Williams Duncan Trussell who even knows where to start with those legends of people So I don't know where to stop and start. Yeah We had Craig Jones on. You know, Craig Jones is an interesting cat. Like in the world of jujitsu, you know, he gets shit on a lot for not winning a bunch of tournaments and things, but he has a great attitude. He's funny. He shits on everyone.
Starting point is 00:02:22 He's still a badass and Kick my ass for sure Oh yeah come on And he comes on Rogan No chance And he's yeah he gives no shits dude No shits Where do you even start with this guy?
Starting point is 00:02:38 He's got an interesting style that's for sure Yeah he's also going up against ADCC Like same weekend, same event. What do you think about that? Balls. He's doing his own. Tournament, yeah. Okay, so his tournament is gonna compete
Starting point is 00:02:55 against the Abu Dhabi Combat Club, ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship. Yeah, yeah, same weekend. Best in the world, do you think? So he's gonna try to rival that? He's a rival in Saudi money. No, but yeah, it's like Saudi money, but like they don't make a lot of money when they win. He's offering a million dollars to whoever wins.
Starting point is 00:03:18 It's about time those fighters got paid a lot more. I think. Well, I mean, it's, you know, it's not enough to get Gordon Ryan there because he makes so much money from his, from his like instructionals and other things, but it's close. I mean, if you made that 10 million, Gordon Ryan says goodbye to ADC and he's only competing at this. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:03:51 And for most of the fighters, they're on board with this. So why would you not follow the money? In the UFC, it's a bit different because, and Dana has a good point. It's like you can fight for some of the other fighting organizations and they have million dollar awards that they give out for champions. But if you become the champion, ultimately you make a lot more with the UFC. There's tons more exposure. So the ADC might have that. Yeah, but it doesn't.
Starting point is 00:04:29 I don't know. I don't know if it does. I don't know if ADC and the jiu jitsu thing does. It's like, what do you do? You got a plaque, you got $10,000 and a certificate. Cred. Yeah, maybe. Maybe you can like put on you
Starting point is 00:04:46 know some some training things and and do a do like an instructional. Don't those guys fly them out and like have them like give a like personal instruction instruction to the princes or something? Probably. I've heard of this. Throwing Lamborghinis at them. Like in a car. To be fair, they're already in geese, so they're ready to go. Karate pajamas that look like karate pajamas. They're ready to go with the geese.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Yeah, but $10,000 compared to a million, like where would you be on that? Like think about that in any area of your life. Let's say that you were that good at anything, right? And it's like you're a race car driver and you could do, you know, the fucking Daytona 500 and they're like, if you win, get 10 grand or you join this like wacky new thing and you win a million. I mean.
Starting point is 00:05:50 I'd go for the million. Well, but what if you were concerned that it was gonna fuck your reputation with the previous organization? I guess I wouldn't care. Yeah, it's a lot of extra money. I wouldn't care. Yeah, it's a lot of extra money. I wouldn't mind. Also, I think you don't have to just do one or the other.
Starting point is 00:06:11 You just have to do one that year and then the next one, different one next year. Yeah, but they might not want you there. They might be like, nah, you suck. We don't want you over here. I wish him the best of luck., you suck. We don't want you over here You know, I wish him the best of luck. I'll tell you that. Hmm Have you seen his only fans? No, is he don't? He hasn't only fans bless. I think it's for I think it's jujitsu instructional only
Starting point is 00:06:42 Yeah, I don't have it. I swear Pete has it. So he does only fans for a jujitsu instructional like get it up. Look it up. Yeah, he seems he seems like he is more focused on money than like being the best jujitsu guy, which also fair play to him because you know, if you get really good, but you're also a bit lazy, isn't that cool too? Like can't you just be a bit fucking lazy and also be pretty dope at what you do
Starting point is 00:07:26 Nothing, that's my that's my whole life motto That's how I live I like Craig Jones he's a he's nut yeah is the beef real between him and Between him and Gordon Ryan or is it just kind of playful? I don't know Gordon seems hard to get along with to be honest between him and Gordon Ryan or is it just kind of playful? I don't know. Gordon seems hard to get along with, to be honest. Now, Gordon's an extreme winner. So if you don't have that mindset, he isn't gonna appreciate what you're doing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:00 You know, I mean, think about it. He's trying to be the very best that ever was that ever will be moving forward, like absolute crush everyone. And if you're not putting that energy in there and trying to be that good. And you're a bit good and he can constantly tap you. And then you talk shit about him. Like that's his motivation. He's going to be like, well, you're, you're dumb yeah you know yeah so Craig Jones does have an only fans love that
Starting point is 00:08:33 and I think they're a jujitsu instructionals all right yeah arm bar arm bar defense sequence armor escape. It's. Yeah, I bet you that would be a great a great subscription instead of just wasting on all those online prostitutes. You guys quit it. Excuse me, dude. Not you, Adam. I'm just saying give those ladies a chance. OK, sure.
Starting point is 00:09:04 I'm more of an analog guy. Do you think that it'd be one of those moments at the end of your life where you just have to look back and you're like, oh, I had four only fans accounts and you feel terrible? I don't think so. I think it's fine. Wait, if you had one you made for or you subscribed it for. Well, yeah, I think mostly if you bought it, I think the
Starting point is 00:09:30 what if you look back on life and said, I think the people selling it are like, oh, yeah, nailed it. Made money. My pictures are on the Internet. Good. I'm a grandmother now. Well, yeah, OnlyFans is, you know. Don't do it, ladies. Stay in school. It's definitely better if you're on the top end of that, if you're making money. But if you're buying into it, I just I wonder, you know.
Starting point is 00:10:06 I don't want to be judging, but I'm a little bit judgey. Yeah. Well, so it's like I get it. You know, it's tempting. But like what porn is free online. Like that seems like a bad investment. It's not fiscally responsible for five minutes at the most of enjoyment. Yeah, I mean, you're getting like obsessed over one person. Does it matter?
Starting point is 00:10:32 I think it says something about the degradation of our culture. Interesting amount of people online. It's a while time anyway. It's not this isn't this isn't Craig Jones. It's back to Craig. Yeah, back to Craig. So he's got the tournament. His only fans is hilarious.
Starting point is 00:10:53 What do we got? What do we got? There's a picture of him in a singlet, a wrestling outfit, and you see full dong. This podcast is brought to you by DraftKings. You fucking tapped in the dark web on this one or what? I didn't.
Starting point is 00:12:36 I'm peeling back the onion. It's not cool. Dude, dude, you need to like you and your cyber. We got a Jamie on the episode. He's going in deep. All right, so so that's how he makes money and Couple I look but also it's a bold move that he's going fucking full-on Against ADC like in the jujitsu world. It's like this is a fucking bold move, dude. I
Starting point is 00:13:06 Don't even know what he went ahead and withdrew a million dollars before the episode yeah and put a million dollars on the table that's crazy no one ever jose like rogan was like i've never seen this how crazy is that the guy's worth like half a billion and he's, I've never seen this much money. Like, what do you think the most cash Rogan ever with drawled like 10 grand? That's a good question. Yeah, because look, if you have an unlimited bank account, why are you just carrying around a bunch of cash? You wouldn't be just like buy everything on credit.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Yeah. And you say all right I'll text you that I'll text you that hundred thousand here in a little bit right from there And then there he is with a million dollars slammed in front of him It's like it was like loose bills Rogan was like Together he's like what does this guy trust you? Well, he's like, give me the million or I'm going to find a bank that will. Mm hmm. Yeah. So, look, obviously, Craig has good support and
Starting point is 00:14:19 it's going to be fucking interesting to see how this goes. I think a lot of people are going to jump ship, dude. I hope so. I hope, I don't want it there to be a monopoly anymore on this stuff. We need to, they need to better fight it as we made. Dude, the fucking Saudis should be like giving away millions and billions for these events. They are nothing but cash. Maybe let's see. You need to empower these young fighters and breed the strong ones.
Starting point is 00:14:55 Yeah. Maybe not billions. Get them into breeding programs. Give them a million, right? Yeah, a million at the least. Come on. Yeah, come on. They could step it up. This would be good for them. Oil shares. Be good for them. All right. Let's jump over to Harland Williams.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Harland, what a lunatic. What a hilarious comedian comes on and kind of trolls Joe, honestly, with I, you know, got attacked by a bear. And, you know, just chaos conversations Joe was struggling to like keep track of like where the conversation is, but they've known each other 30 years. So it's like Joe gave him so much space to be a lunatic. And it's weird too, because like, Harland likes to do his comedy like he's dumb,
Starting point is 00:15:49 but he's not dumb. He has like good information. He's a hilarious. Dude, he's great. Well, he's a legend in one of the greatest movies of all time, Half Baked. So good in that, so good, pinnacle. But you know. He's 61,
Starting point is 00:16:10 he's from Canada, huh? Yeah, Canadian, starts talking about like, how the fish got into the Great Lakes after the Ice Age. And they basically stumbled on the fact they may have come up with the most important question of all time, like how did that happen? And then they started to like piece it together. Holland had some knowledge about fishing,
Starting point is 00:16:38 but like how do you think that happened? So there was like an ice age, there was a huge glacier, it melted away, and then how did the fish get in the Great Lakes? When it recedes, there's huge body of water and all the fish can escape that, like the little area where it's still connected to the ocean, and so these fish that travel from the ocean to the to the to the great to the lakes
Starting point is 00:17:10 become trapped in Iceland that's why there's trout there Trout are spawned in freshwater and live in the ocean but if you trap them in freshwater they can still live and survive and eventually they and they can breed as well but they prefer to run to the ocean and back. So they just don't do that part of their life cycle. Well, and they just get on with it and they become endemic species and start speciating, becoming more diverse. Wait, wait, wait. So this ocean trout.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Yes. And fresh water trout. And they're the same thing. Rainbow trout are a species of trout that go to the ocean when they can, but when they get locked in a lake, they are called rainbow trout. Huh? Yeah, and they're huge fish. They can get up to like five feet long and weigh like. 70 pounds holy shit
Starting point is 00:18:06 But we trap them all trouts in the United States are remnants of that same thing they got trapped inland And they lost their connection. They just like slope in from the from the river ways You've seen those in those salmon the salmon that jump up rivers and stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Those are coming from the ocean. Okay. They lay their eggs and die. But if they get trapped inland, they can still survive without going into the ocean. And is that basically how all freshwater fish exist?
Starting point is 00:18:40 They were like originally salt water. they were like originally salt water. Maybe, but I think that there's always been freshwater and there's always been freshwater fish. But there's all there are a lot of species that do go back and forth, like eels and sturgeon, probably. Maybe not sturgeon, they're freshwater, aren't they? Yeah, but if you think about it, like, freshwater with, like, the way the Earth moves around, like, it would just create pockets of freshwater. And it's like, why would anything get in there? What does one of our favorite guys say, Jeff Goldblum, in the classic Jurassic Park? Nature will find a way. Alright, alright, alright.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Yeah, I'm with you. I'm with you. And since you know him, I'm into it. Well, we're buds, but I don't know him. Well, you met him. You met him. Alright. He pat me on the head one time.
Starting point is 00:19:46 All right, let's jump over to Duncan Trussell, and let's finish up with him. We're doing a shorter episode today. Duncan comes in with an incredible outfit, starts talking about AI, and we're going hard on AI. They wore their outfits longer than they really ever have on a podcast. And they're talking about the idea of,
Starting point is 00:20:12 Duncan talks about razor spiders. And we're just talking about AI killing robots, right? They just went around killing women and children. That's what he talks about. He like if that started happening, we'd be really against it and Then they kind of bring up the recent turmoil that we've had in the Middle East and he's like well if You know that sort of death is happening there We'd be pretty upset about it You know that sort of death is happening there We'd be pretty upset about it
Starting point is 00:20:50 You know totally however Since it's happening the way that the humans do it. We're just like oh, it's war and that's it That's the sound of fried chicken with a spicy history. Thornton Prince was a ladies man. To get revenge, his girlfriend hid spices in his fried chicken. He loved it so much, he opened Prince's Hot Chicken. This is one of many sounds in Tennessee with a story to tell. To hear them in person, plan your trip at TNVacation.com. Tennessee sounds perfect.
Starting point is 00:21:32 This is a paid advertisement from BetterHelp. As a podcast listener you've heard from us before, today let's hear what members have told us. One member said, I would recommend my therapist 1,000 times over. She has truly changed my life. Another member said, I would recommend my therapist 1,000 times over. She has truly changed my life. Another member said, the day after my first session, my friends and family said I sounded like myself again for the first time in weeks. You deserve to invest in your well-being. Visit betterhelp.com to see what it can do for you.
Starting point is 00:21:57 That's betterHELP.com. War bad. It's heavy. War bad. It's heavy. And I guess the more we rely on AI for everything else, we would probably eventually rely on it for war making as well. And that sounds terrible, doesn't it? Well, you know what's fucked up about it?
Starting point is 00:22:16 It's like, does it? Like think about, think about how upset people are with like stuff in the Middle East, right? And you know know who's getting killed and it's like dude I'm not here to say where the propaganda is and like who's focusing what on what and if it's revenge or genocide or just like legal justice for like the attack. However, you know, it's like little kids are dying, right? So since we don't have to make up any rules about war or give a fuck about it and all be politicians,
Starting point is 00:23:00 it's like easy to say for us, like that sucks. That sucks, dude. And when you throw out the hypothesis that there is like these like spider robots that run around the entire human race and like only attack women and children and like only attack women and children and we have to destroy them that would be a top priority. And in the same way anytime that happens anywhere else on the earth even if they didn't exist that should be our top priority is like I don't know
Starting point is 00:23:43 it's like kinda reasonable to think about. Just from this way of thinking. Right. Yeah, he is a wordsmith. He captures my attention whenever I hear him talk. Yeah, yeah. He makes me confused about many points that I think that I thought I knew. And then I'm like, Oh yeah, I'm dumb. I'm dumb.
Starting point is 00:24:08 He comes around it from a different angle that I, I, um, I'm trying to get into his podcast as well. He's got a really successful podcast. Dude. He's so good. He's so good. Yeah. It's like, it's a hard one.
Starting point is 00:24:20 Right. And then, you know, beyond that you've got that you know they talk about the idea of like okay so they start making AI robots and they're babies baby looking and they can run a hundred miles an hour imagine that they can just drill themselves into the earth so they can hide and maybe just they can just drill themselves into the earth so they can hide and they can just they can just like fire up and blow Poisonous darts on everybody Like think about that. Okay. Okay. I'm thinking I'm getting in my head. Yeah
Starting point is 00:24:59 Yeah, just like think about that little scenario for a second and like What what how do you even start with this? What do you shake in them? Is it you got to get a hold of them? They're fast, fast, baby. Grease them up those things. You're not catching those things. I think that's the first movie.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Lube them up, lube them up. And then just shoot them out. Yeah. Fire them out. What's what's the point of that scenario? I lost the point of that one. Well, it's just that like what would
Starting point is 00:25:37 happen if we did that with war? If we just designed a killer baby robot. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So why why go to adults? Why? It's easier to kill adults. It's like hard. Like you just see babies running at you. It's like, that's something else, dude. You know, just get a couple of drunk uncles over there. They'll take care of them No, that's that's bad. It's a joke. No, that's great. That's hilarious
Starting point is 00:26:20 I mean, you know it's it's like that. That's what's gonna be weird It's like do they do they move forward making AI? like what's going to be weird. It's like, do they do they move forward making AI, like, robotics that are like very much not connected to humans, right? They already have those dogs. They have the flying machines that they've come out with. The RAF just did one. It's firing missiles is doing its thing. But in a way, wouldn't it be a smarter move just to like connect with like puppies and babies and just, you know, it's like things that also emotionally affect us so we don't even know. We're just like, what?
Starting point is 00:27:03 Look how cute that puppy is. And it just pow, pow, pow, takes out the village. What if we already developed this technology and the only way to combat it was an EMP caused by a nuclear explosion. So they did that and we forgot all about it because everything else was wiped out. We've already done, we've already gone through all this
Starting point is 00:27:22 before, that's interesting. What, wait, what? Well, like, what if what if this already happened? And the reason why we don't remember is because we had to nuke them. Oh, so we got to nuke them again. We got to nuke them again. Nuke them again. We had to do the same.
Starting point is 00:27:41 You're saying we have babies and puppies attacking us before? I'm for killing the AI babies. Yeah, but I mean, if they're cute and they're like, cool. What if your sex bot, your AI sex robot had a baby, your AI baby birthed out and then now you had you're responsible for killing it? Hmm. Hmm. That'd be that'd be wild if like your AI sex bot could call you up and be like, hey, I'm pregnant. if like your AI sex bot could call you up and be like, hey, I'm pregnant. And you're like, what?
Starting point is 00:28:25 I don't make like, I'm not, there's no way. And they're like, no, we have your DNA. But all they do is just take your like profile and you're like all your, all the things that they've learned from you to like recreate you. And then like, no, we've introduced that as half of the program to this
Starting point is 00:28:46 child and all of a sudden DNA becomes programming and it's like I've made this it's half of you like do you want to raise it and you're just like wait what okay I I mean I don't know. Do I have to pay for it? Like, why am I on this? I feel like an AI baby would pay for itself. You get some returns on that bad boy. Yeah, but dude, if it looked just like you and it was like, daddy, like, it ain't like look the same. Where would you be? It's like crying. Just want you to hold it. I'd have to explain it to you, that's like crying. Just want you to hold it. I'd have to explain it to do that for sure. Yeah. I mean, could you though? Dude, but that's the problem, right? It's like Disney movies with bears and whatever. They just make you love them. It's like, if it looked at you and it was just like a baby and it was like Pete
Starting point is 00:29:49 And you're like I can't I can't treat you like a vacuum cleaner You should see I treat the vacuum cleaner. I do not want to treat it. Yeah, maybe like that That's that's that's wrong. Anyway, you look at it. I don't know. I feel like there's something there anyway, we're gonna call it a day and this was a lot of life a lot of life happening on this on this side of the The podcast world. So yeah, yeah, we're calling it short for this week So we're gonna get back into it in the swing of it with things soon Tune in next week for more and we love you and later
