Hey folks, Aaron here.
Welcome to Deeper Lore, a bonus episode that's designed to be a topical guide to the most
recent episode of Lore.
Now as I've explained before in the past, Deeper Lore is here to help you find similar
episodes to the one that just came out.
With so many episodes in our catalog now, over 300 at this point, it's pretty difficult
to track down specific ones.
So this is meant to be a big neon sign that points you in the right direction of other
similar episodes.
Want to go deeper on a theme or a topic from folklore?
Well, that's what Deeper Lore is all about.
It's not a gimmick to grab more downloads or an effort to just sell more ads.
It's honestly my attempt to help out all of those lore superfans and those brand new
listeners who might be overwhelmed who want to learn more about the topic they just heard about this week and see what else
we've covered over the last decade.
You know, to go a bit deeper, and thus the name, Deeper Lore.
So for this week, for episode 262, Broken Lines, we head to the Emerald Isle for a tour
of the haunted and infamous Charleville Castle.
One thing that I loved about this particular story
is that it sort of has two separate adventures
for us to go on.
There's the castle itself and the reports
about its ghostly inhabitants,
but then there's also the family that built and lived in it
and their own absolutely freaky story
that transpires over the years.
But after making this show for almost a decade,
this certainly isn't the first castle episode of lore.
In fact, we've explored quite a few of them and I think that there are some that you would absolutely love to hear about. After making this show for almost a decade, this certainly isn't the first Castle episode of lore.
In fact, we've explored quite a few of them, and I think that there are some that you would
absolutely love to hear about.
So here are three of my favorites.
First up, episode 51, Within the Walls, is a fantastic tour of a number of spooky old
castles.
This classic episode ticks a number of boxes, and fans have always loved it, so I have to
recommend it.
Do check it out.
Next up, download episode 68, The Tainted Well.
This one is all about the legendary Lep Castle, and it's a journey that still haunts me
all these years later.
Family secrets, frightening apparitions, and ancient history.
How could anyone say no to that, right?
And finally, go listen to episode 117, Bones.
For this old episode, we head to Japan, and I know, we usually associate the word castle
with massive stone edifices, and Japan has a more beautiful approach to the concept,
but friends, that does not mean their fortresses are any less terrifying.
The story of Himeji Castle in particular is going to stick with you for a very long time.
So there you go.
Follow up this week's brand new episode with a trip into the past.
Episodes 51, 68, and 117 are waiting for you in this podcast feed.
