Hey guys, I want to tell you about Merrick Health, the premium telehealth clinic owned by Derek from More Plates, More Dates.
Now, when some people think about Merrick Health, they think it's just another one of those testosterone companies or another one of those blood work companies.
But Merrick Health is really cool because, yeah, you can get your blood work done, you can get hormone optimization, but you can also get nootropics.
You can also get Viagra. You can get literally whatever you need from that clinic and they make it very, very easy for you. That's why
we love Merrick. So Andrew, how can people learn about it? Yes, Merrick Health is not just a one
trick pony. But if you did want to get your labs done, we highly recommend the Power Project panel.
That's 28 different labs. That's also going to come with a client care coordinator that's going
to give you a lab analysis, and they're going to work with you and help you optimize your body.
Again, that's at merrickhealthalth.com slash PowerProject.
At checkout, enter promo code PowerProject to save $101 off that entire panel.
Links to them down in the description as well as the podcast show notes.
Idea, fun, and semen?
What's going on?
It looks funny.
Oh, man.
It's so gay.
It's so gay.
Can we say that on air?
Yeah.
Okay, then. We're on air. We're on air? Yeah. I don air yeah okay then we're on there we're on air yeah
i don't know dude okay so did any of that preview show no no no all right guys my girl just took uh
she she she took me to this movie bros watch the preview okay i think we were just watching it we
were just watching i think we can say how gay that movie was because in the movie they
talked about how gay it was it's like it's like not even bad to say how gay it was because it was
super gay about a gay dude about a gay dude yeah yeah yeah did you relate to it a lot
yeah because he was a podcaster dude
it looks funny so the audience is gonna flame me so bad yeah man no i think that movie
was really cool because uh if you're straight yeah yeah no if but like not like you get a
totally different perspective to see see what like that is like there's a lot of things that happen within like
the the gay relationships that's just like we don't understand don't think about it all right
but it's hilarious this is the thing the movie was good there's a lot of people who are gonna
be like oh i don't want to see this woke ass gross or whatever yeah people yeah the movie
was legitimately fucking hilarious i couldn't stop laughing um but yeah
i'm happy i saw it it was good can can you just quick i mean they use the f word in it oh shit
which is this is like oh wow like it's like you know it's like me saying that word like you're
saying the scene where the guy guy is about to take a shot right yeah that's what i was gonna
ask if you can read tell that
oh yeah in the movie so the dude opens the door on the other dude and the dude's shooting some
test right and then he's like hey it's not steroids it's just testosterone every guy does
it at this every guy see it's not test there's not steroids it's so weird how like well i don't
think it's weird but it's so interesting how normal that is now though it's gonna be normal it's in a movie and i mean
they probably did their due diligence and like did some research but they also probably could
have just did like five minutes of research and be like what like how could we make this
ah we'll just say it's not steroids it's test that's what everyone's literally saying now
and it just fit perfectly with the movie it fit perfect yeah they might just already know about it or they just you know they don't
have to do any research so go see the movie bros with one of your favorite bros and yeah just just
like it's just a fucking lighten up a little bit you know wear matching outfits maybe or something
dog yeah when i walked into my girl they're like i think i'll tell you guys i just have this
fucking freddie mercury mustache pink shirt actually it's a purple shirt and like my lulu
leggings people probably thought i was gay as hell are people talking about the mustache or not
really um some people dig it some people don't i dig it though so yeah because some people i
mentioned some people are like he's got a mustache Some people are like, he's got a mustache.
And I'm like, well, he's had a beard for a long time.
That's how you know it's good.
If you can't tell that there's a mustache, that just means that it works.
That one guy we had here, Ryan, the CrossFit guy, I was like, let's talk about this mustache.
He's like, what?
I have a mustache?
Remember that?
That was so weird.
I was like, well, now where do mustache that was so weird i was like well
now where do i go with this because he clearly has a mustache and now he's clearly denying
he was like what i was like what do you mean i thought it was an inside joke between you two
it was i was like what i was like you have a mustache oh my god yeah that was great have
you tried those yet i haven't tried tried these. These are the first time.
Oh, my God.
Do you want to partake?
You got a chocolate one up there?
Yeah, chocolate.
Let's see if we can do this right here.
And what is this one right here?
That is this right here.
Wild berry.
Oh, the wild berry one's probably really good.
Wild berry.
So these are the new protein sweet rolls from Legendary.
They have 20 grams of protein, 23 grams of carbs, and 8 grams of fat.
But they seem thick.
These are good.
Well, this chocolate one has 220 calories total, but five net carbs, though.
Apparently, you're supposed to warm it up for 15 seconds, which we didn't do, but it's so thick.
It's still good.
Fuck. Still good. It's but it's so thick. Oh, my God. Fuck.
Still good.
It's soft.
Mm-hmm.
Oh, yes.
If you're a relative that didn't dig the tasty pastry,
I think they would love this.
Yeah.
Because this is like the inside of the tasty pastry
as like the whole thing.
Mm-hmm.
That's really good.
And it's supposed to burn off like 10 pounds of body fat.
Make you look younger, too, right? Doesn't that make it to us to burn off like 10 pounds of body fat. Make you look younger too, right?
Doesn't that very tell us?
This is problematic.
The collagen.
Oh, you're going to eat too many of these.
This is like, okay.
Tasty pastries.
They're good, but it's like, you can, you can stop.
These are really gooey.
And if you warm this up for like, it's the directions say warmed up for 15 seconds.
This is dangerous territory.
Legendary. Kudos to you.
You like it gooey and moist?
Kind of wet?
Warm?
A little bit.
I mean, I don't know about you guys, but I've had it too wet before.
I mean, it's cool, but it's messy.
What are you talking about now?
Talking about the pastry?
Yeah.
Okay, yeah.
Where were you going?
I don't know.
You're always making shit weird, especially more recently, the mustache.
I think it's the mustache.
I think the mustache is bringing it out, man.
Andrew, you got to talk to this guy. I'm not going to say anything to him because he does jujitsu.
I can't say shit.
Technically, people think of creepy things when they think of mustaches and i'm generally kind of a creepy guy this is true
i mean sometimes i'll you know i'll mask on the must the mustache off i'm a creep the mustache
is catching up to you yeah that's how we're happening this one's a guy the guy that we
just had come into the gym he was looking out in the gym and he was seeing SEMA mess around with this, the parabolic
thing out there.
He looks at me kind of weird and he's like, how long has that guy been working out for?
I was like, he's in here all the time doing something.
And I said, I think he started when he was like 12 or 13.
He's like, shit.
He's like, I need to figure that out.
But he was in good shape.
He was in really good shape. He said he used to be 270 used to be 270 yeah that's crazy dropped a bunch of body fat
just uh just he just started running and eating less and then he got like he lost weight and he
got to like a weird level where he was like uh this is not good like he like lost everything
he was a super skinny um he's like i had no butt
i had no show i had no shoulders like he got like this weird skinny fat place but he couldn't um
he couldn't like unsee fat that's all he saw was fat he's like gotta run gotta run gotta run and
so you know he went to like one of his buddies and he's like yeah man you should lift and so
yeah he started lifting got it evened out weighs like 210 or
something like that yeah 210 solid he looks good but on the note of lifting young andrew
you got to pull this kid up yeah i won't i don't know what's that all about but
teenagers being teenagers we'll avoid that one for a second let's go straight here
that's actually not okay he's 15 that's so i'm in this podcast yeah we don't know what's going on It's teenagers being teenagers. We'll avoid that one for a second. We'll go straight here.
That's actually not okay.
He's 15.
That's why I'm on this podcast.
Yeah, we don't know what's going on.
15-year-old kid deadlifting 700 pounds?
Yeah.
No.
It is sumo, so.
And straps.
And 15.
And he's wearing a belt.
The bar didn't even move.
Yeah, he's using a deadlift bar and it's bending.
One of my favorite comments was like,
the bar moved like 10 inches or something like that.
These comments are so good.
Strength is just going at a totally different level, man.
15 years old. 150 pounds.
God, dude. And he's jacked, too.
I mean, he looks great. Like, how the hell does that happen at 15? Look at him delts.
I mean, I know some people are going to speculate
that he's on shit or whatever.
Fuck all y'all. Who knows?
Whatever.
I know, but even just
hypothetically, if he was or did or something,
whatever. I don't know.
He's fucking 15 years old, weighs 150 pounds, deadlifted 700 pounds.
That's what, over three times body weight, right?
It's 4.55 times body weight.
There you go.
God damn.
That's fucking crazy.
Yeah.
And I mean, 15 years old, how long could he have potentially been working out for, right?
Mm-hmm.
Did he start at five?
Which, sure, go for it at five, but that's still, like,
there's dudes that lift a lifetime that don't deadlift 705.
I was close to my mid-20s when I finally got to the Southern Club,
and this guy's doing it right out of puberty.
This guy probably did start working out pretty young.
Yeah.
Probably, like, I wouldn't be surprised if he was, like, 10 or 11 when he started.
Yeah, or even younger.
But that's what I mean. Also could have, have like a gymnastics background or something you know but i'm just like what i'm getting at is like okay let's let's just be
total creeps and just say that he started doing fucking full-on steroids at eight years old
like is that really gonna help you deadlift 705? Right. You know what I mean? I mean, sure. Yeah, it will help.
Sorry.
But the odds of that actually happening?
Like, fuck, dude, no way.
No.
Okay.
He's not on anything.
But I think we've kind of been talking about this for a little bit outside of the podcast.
But I think people in fitness overestimate the genetic capacities of people in fitness.
They look at people who are genetic elites and they think that that is elite of elite.
And you don't know.
I'm going to mention this.
And this is for another conversation.
But there is this interview where kamar uzman was on
the joe rogan experience and kamaru was like these guys think i'm on steroids if you go back to africa
you got people like this just laborers walking around and people thought that that was a joke
but i've been to nigeria and russ swole we were talking about this he's also been to nigeria
and when i went down there and i saw guys who were just literally workers, these guys had builds of bodybuilders.
But they're not out there lifting like that.
But they have these builds.
And you have this everywhere in the world.
This is just stuff you see on social media.
But imagine if an NFL player was like, fuck it.
I want to do some powerlifting.
Fuck my millions of dollars.
I'm going to do some powerlifting.
I think that actually happened. Right, Mark? And and then some guy i don't know his name but you
mentioned that to me well there's also like you got like francis and ganu right like i mean
yeah it looks insane and like francis and ganu could probably point to like five or six other
guys that probably look a little similar to him he might say his brother or his cousin or like someone I, you know, somebody he grew up with. But, you know, there's, there's tons of genetics around us.
We don't always, we don't always, it doesn't always show up, but every once in a while,
when you start to see people getting into different sports and being exposed to different
things, that's where you start to see it. And for American sports, you know, like football and basketball, there's certain types of genetics
that are good for that.
A certain height is good for that.
There's certain level of athleticism, muscle mass and things like that.
But there's so many other sports in the world.
There's things like gymnastics.
There's things like Olympic lifting.
There's things like gymnastics. There's things like Olympic lifting. There's things like soccer. And you're going to see a lot of different ethnicities and a lot of different genetic mutants, really, in these professional sports, driving the records
to lengths and heights that you've never seen before. And when it comes to something like
powerlifting, you don't really, you don't, I mean, it always helps to be a little bit more athletic, but you're probably going to be on the shorter side.
You're most likely aren't going to be, you can still run into like a Larry Wheels, you know, who's like probably 6'2".
But a lot of times he's going to be stockier guys.
And a guy that squats 900 pounds is going to be a 900 pound squatter and probably not amazing at anything much
else.
Not that he can't be good at anything else, but that's a lot of times what you see.
Yeah.
Okay.
Are we about to have this conversation?
The one that we were having via text?
We can have some.
Yeah.
We should talk about this a bit.
It's interesting.
So number one, to get really good at lifting 900 pounds, you need to build a level of stiffness
and you need to lose other capacities right because if like again i think uh saquon barkley right he can lift a lot but imagine if
like he was just like fuck running and fuck sprinting i'm just going to go into lifting
imagine how much more he'd be able to lift um and from young age maybe he had even though he is
tremendously athletic maybe he already had just a little pinch extra of that stiffness or tightness or whatever it was that allowed him to be strong. So maybe he had
like a propensity towards that or for that. And I think when someone first does a sport
and they're even just pretty good at it, I'd imagine your exposure to soccer, your
experience was probably pretty good where you're like, oh, okay, I'm a little faster than some of my friends.
I might be able to do something like this.
Or at least you're in striking distance
of maybe being able to do some stuff
maybe that you saw some older kids do.
I just wanted to pull this up
because Saquon just ended this guy's career.
It's like he broke his ankle so bad.
Oh, no.
No, I mean, he's obviously fine.
Oh, okay.
See you later.
You guys were saying Saquon's doing super good this season or something insane he is basically their only offensive option
right now and they only have like one loss the giants are on fire yeah he's i mean if it wasn't
for him i would have zero fantasy points you're already playing fantasy football. I'm getting my ass kicked. Andy Triani, right? Andy Triana.
You always say Triani.
I say Triani too.
Triana.
Why do you guys do that?
I don't know.
Andy Triana?
I don't know.
Andy Triana.
Go Superbrain, guys.
Go follow him on Instagram.
He works.
Yeah, works with him.
Yeah.
He works with him and a bunch of other high-level athletes.
He's a brain.
And you should listen to our podcast with him.
It was like three hours long.
He's amazing.
But the crazy thing about like
all this genetic stuff and we were talking about it another day off podcast and some of the stuff
is going to sound super broey but you notice it like for example white guys right when you see
really strong white dudes they tend like there are genetics of all types but at the highest levels
they tend to be really good at strength.
Like when you think of Hapthor, when you think of like some of the top strongmen, even though some of them have – even though they've done drugs.
But think about them outside of – if they didn't.
When you think about powerlifting and then you look at even the way they're structured, they have like huge joints.
They're able to produce a lot of force.
structured they have like huge joints they're able to produce a lot of force um and then when you look at sports that involve a lot of quickness like soccer baseball um boxing boxing who who do
you tend to see oh yeah it's a lot of latins a lot of a lot of latin american people from latin
america etc they seem to be really quick even some of the best soccer players i knew growing up
had this just like insane quickness that there was there was no way that i would be able to emulate they were like some
they were mexican dudes um and you see that a lot on the field so and when you you think of like
sports like basketball or sports that you need high force production and speed you see a lot
of black guys you see a lot of black people um so it's just interesting because it's like different ethnicities have different i guess
at the top level of different types of sports they can exude different types of capacities
and it's really cool the conversation can get dirty when people try to bring a bunch of other
things to the mix and try to think of superiority and shit but if we're just trying to look at it
at what we visually see, there are differences.
Right.
And there is, you know, there is like a little bit of like a track record of some athletes being superior.
And I think it's OK.
It's OK.
It's OK that like, you know, in the 100 meter, you don't see a lot of white guys.
It's all right.
And in the pool, you don't see a lot of black guys.
It's all okay.
No one needs to get too worked up.
It doesn't mean that someone can't cross over.
It doesn't mean you don't have the ability to cross over or that I'm saying anything remotely close to that.
But it's just what you see.
Some of it's exposure.
Like what do you get exposed to?
What sports do you get exposed to? What sport are you going to have access to?
You know, what sport is going to be something that you can do frequently?
Like sometimes something like swimming or hockey.
Hockey is a real pain in the ass or skiing or, you know, any of these sports.
There's like certain sports are very difficult.
Like imagine you're a high-level skateboarder, but you grew up with
no skateboard park, you know, like it would be, it's like harder. Like it's, you have to really
go way out of your way. Meanwhile, there's some other kid that is five or something and he's got
a skateboard park right next to his house. And he lives in Santa Barbara, California, where it's
always nice out where a lot of people or Santa Cruz rather – where they're like notorious for that.
So of course you're probably going to do the thing that the area is notorious for.
And we see that a lot with soccer and we see it a lot with other sports.
Sometimes I think in Ohio, there's an area in Ohio where the kids – like Masculine Ohio I think it's called.
The kids are born born they put a
football in their crib you know sometime they're young they're like a baby boy they stick a
football on his crib yeah uh who was it uh shit was it adriel or adriel maze yeah or
matthias talking about like maybe dipping their toes into crossfit because nice okay because we
were having that conversation like how come there isn't like one or well not one but how come there aren't many
black dudes like in high level crossfit i'm just curious because i pricing huh pricing pricing
because you okay so number one you think of the economic disparity in the united states
and then you think of like well if you're going to be able to go to a crossfit box
the pricing the typical areas that crossfit boxes are are areas that you're not going to see a higher percentage of African-Americans living in those areas.
So they're not going to tend towards CrossFit.
The sport that they're going to tend towards is there's probably a lot of courts around where they live, maybe a lot of fields.
Yeah, that makes sense.
So they can play basketball and football.
See how fucking racist this topic can get?
It's not even racist.
I know. sense so they can play basketball and football. See how fucking racist this topic can get. It's not even racist but it's
like when you think about it
that's why it was kind of interesting how
for example Tiger Woods or Serena and
Venus Williams they got into the sports they
got into because typically a guy
like Tiger you were not
going to see a black dude in golf unless there's a bit of
money involved. He wasn't allowed to go
into the clubs
when he was a kid and he
his dad uh taught him from a young age to just say you know where's the first hole and that's
what he did and he just like i don't think when he was really young i don't think he knew what it
meant yeah i don't think he understood like why he wasn't really allowed in there as he got older
as as he got older it fucking bothered him a lot but instead of like like where's the first hole
he was like where's the first hole like i'm gonna fuck everybody up you want to treat me like this
you're you're all gonna you're all gonna pay and that's i mean he did an unbelievable job he's one
of the greatest golfers of all time fucking crazy and to overcome some of those things is is uh
is wild but here's a question for you guys.
And it's interesting when we get into the natty or not stuff all the time, you know, it's over and over and over again.
The whole topic is super interesting.
Do we admire somebody who – like we can say like some of these people over here seem to have good're upset when someone takes steroids to get somewhere and they recognize maybe like – maybe they recognize they don't have the genetics.
Maybe they thought – maybe they don't even recognize they don't have the genetics.
Maybe they just thought like – maybe they thought to themselves.
Maybe they have a limiting belief system and thought maybe for myself even maybe i thought i can't really
do what i'd like to do without steroids so i'm just going to take them that was my that's kind
of what i thought i didn't think that i had shitty genetics i think i have really good genetics um
yeah i think i like to think that i come from pretty good stock. I was pretty strong.
I was naturally a little stronger than some of my friends.
Not anything wild, but there definitely was something there.
I was bigger.
So lifting weights made sense to me.
I was a bigger kid and I was already stronger.
So that's what I did.
We talked about exposure already.
I had a full weight set in my garage when i'm 12 13 years old
because i had two older brothers like that's just luck that has nothing to do with anything i did
that's just like walk downstairs and there's fucking weights there yeah and i placed a lot
of value on my brothers i was really close with them and i'm still really close with chris
and i really valued my oldest brother being strong.
Like that was like a value thing in my household.
So I was like, I want to do this.
You know, I want to get as strong as possible.
But as I got more into powerlifting,
probably when I was like maybe in like my 20s,
I was like, oh, my powerlifting,
like it's really not done.
The USAPL and IPF and all that stuff, I competed in some of those things.
I did the ADFPA, which was the American Drug-Free Powerlifting Association.
But those guys only went so far.
And they didn't really, to be kind of honest, like they didn't really lift that much.
They lifted a lot, but they didn't lift that much.
Like there was a whole other level of athlete out there.
And I started seeing some of the guys from like Westside barbell and I started
seeing what else was out there.
And I was like,
I don't really care about these guys at squat 700.
Like that's cool.
Whatever.
That's they're walking the weight out and they're squatting 700.
That's cool.
But they were all in squat suits and stuff too.
And I didn't really know if they were drug,
like I already knew about the drug tested versus drug free thing because the federation that I was in, all they used was like a lie detector test.
And I was like, even when I was 16, 17, I'd look at some of these guys and they were veined out and you're just like, I don't know, man, I don't think so.
Like I saw a guy deadlift 800 at like 198 and I just remember all the other athletes were like you know they were like well fuck of course
he won he's he's cheating you know what i mean and it was in a drug tested i have no idea whether
he was or wasn't but like this stuff has just been around for a really long time and it's interesting
if we take uh take everyone's favorite natty person, whoever that might be.
Do you admire that more?
Knowing that that person kind of had it,
we know that you still got to work for it in either case.
So do you admire that more
or do you admire the guy who's just doing his thing
and pushing it as hard as he can?
I don't really know why we got to be negative
towards either one.
There is always the caveat of like, well, that motherfucker is lying to me,
like blatantly lying to me.
And that one is something that I, I would have to agree.
Like that's not, just don't ever talk about it.
I don't think it's fair.
I don't think it's fair to really really to really like blatantly lie about stuff um we all lie everybody lies but like
you're lying and you perpetuate a lie and you do it over and over and over and over again it's just
like it's just kind of it's bullshit really that's what it is but again i don't know it's just a
weird thing like do you admire the guy
that's like got the genetics and he says he's natural and he's fucking jacked and he's doing
some really cool stuff you know what i'm do you guys kind of know what my point is i'm having a
hard time like putting like exact words to it are you saying like does somebody let's just say at uh
at 40 years old me and nsema end up looking similar in a good way.
I look more like him than he does like me.
But if somebody goes back and they see images of Encima at 16
and they see images of me at 16 and they say,
oh, Andrew, you took stuff and you got there.
That's exactly what I'm talking about.
Would they be more behind me?
Because it's like, oh, that's a good underdog story.
He did take stuff, but he told people that
he took stuff versus in sema who was natural but he already looked like that right is that what
you're trying to say something along those lines yeah yeah because i do see that like we i saw a
comment today somebody was like oh let's see the pictures of in sema when he was uh in sema soccer
physique that's on my instagram too yeah and my thing is like well it's just gonna it's
just gonna piss you off even more right like it's gonna make the haters hate even more because he
was jacked back i was lean i was lean i wasn't as big as i am i wish i was on a little bit of
shit dude oh people oh my god 2006 anabolic steroid handbook did that fall to your fanny
i don't know i pulled this out of the library today
why is the trend thing marked i think 1976 1992 i was 14 yeah around the time i got this book
guys it's a fucking joke this is marks god damn too late why are you throwing me in the bus
that book was bought for the company there's a It's our company library book.
There's just a bunch of police officers outside.
He just sold Mark out.
I just know at this point,
I cannot joke for more than 10 seconds on this podcast about somebody taking me seriously.
Yeah, I saw the comment where the dude was talking about
saying that you were on SARMs or something.
You admitted it.
I was like, where did you get that one from?
That's a good one.
I got to pause for just a second.
One of my favorite things that's going on right now is how Paul Saladino continually says he's not on any hormones.
It's like, bro, no one's accusing you of it, so fucking relax.
Paul, you look great, but no one's really accusing you of it, so settle down.
I mean, Paul is lean. He looks looks fantastic he's probably in good shape there's probably a lot of older gentlemen that
are like oh you're on hrt but he's not so there's a few yeah maybe maybe maybe maybe not Paul, we love you, man.
We do.
But I guess we don't after saying that.
You're pretty much just saying, Paul, you're not looking that impressive.
That's what you're saying.
You're not that jacked.
That's all right.
Paul, you're jacked.
Don't let that get you down.
Of course you won't let it get you down.
You're Paul Saladino. He'll be fine.
I'm going to go out and surf with him and just drown in 10 seconds.
And he'll be like, see 10 seconds and he'll be like
see motherfucker like that's why you keep the muscle mass down you float better when it's low
dog hey all right but real time matt when matt when he was here at the gym and then he was like
uh what kind of workout are you gonna about do i'm like i'm just doing some shit he's like well
if you want to have a real workout come squat let me know and i was like in my head i was like
motherfucker i'll take you down right now but i didn't say that but i also love you matt i forgot what he was talking about hey matt let's
see how strong these legs are oh there you go you know wrap them up i know right it was a motherfucker
isn't it dude so but when it's like how far do you want to take this you know like i bet i can do this
better than you like and you
you fucking dunk a basketball or something and then you do something else against someone like
all right well the ultimate test is there's only one way to have ultimate test you fucking
fight against each other right and then someone pulls out a gun that is the ultimate test
doesn't matter how much jiu-jitsu you know but if you have better aim maybe
yeah but when matt was here like i was just fucking innocent bystander.
He was.
I forgot what he was talking about exactly, but he was like, like, look, like I wouldn't
cut.
He points at me.
He's like, I wouldn't come to you for like leg advice.
I get it.
But at the same time, like I was just here, bro.
Like I was not a part of the conversation whatsoever.
Andrew, I'm just fucking right here.
And he's just like, I wouldn't go to you to try to, like, build up leg size, right?
And I'm like, I guess not.
What the fuck?
Andrew pulled out his assignment pad from his back pocket and wrote, make him look like an asshole.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
That's great. Yeah. I love when people chop you down like that. Oh, my God. That's great.
Yeah.
I love when people chop you down like that.
I was just here.
I just existed.
And I don't even know.
Oh, my God.
Anyway.
That's too good.
Yeah, it's great.
So we were talking about Insima having it naturally versus someone uh maybe getting enhanced and then getting to the
same thing people can get behind one if they're quote-unquote honest versus i think you should
really get behind both if if if you know you just think i mean if we're thinking about logically i
mean both people have to work hard for it and i i do like lying is like a fucking side thing that
is fucked up yeah and i mean this doesn't okay it or whatever like this is still
gonna everyone's still gonna be pissed off but like i like what you said you were just like
yeah steroids do make it easier we all have access to it like why are you mad at me because
i went down that road like you can too like there's nothing nobody's really you can either
choose to do that or you can choose to say i I'm going to stay in this pocket and I'm going to do what I believe is right and I'm going to work hard and I'm going to continue to make progress.
There's nobody in strength training and there's nobody in fitness that would think that you can't have continued progress.
Now, the progress is going to change here and there, but you can make progress for a really fucking long time. If you start at 15, you can make progress into your 40s and into your 50s.
And now we're seeing more and more people push that boundary out a little further.
And maybe the progress is slightly different.
Maybe you switch to more endurance because you're not as strong or you don't want to lift those same weights anymore or whatever the case might be.
But we all know we can improve.
We all know that we can get
better. And so I think whether you choose to do them or choose not to do them, you just pick a
lane and then you try to continue down that path and just try to keep shit positive the best you
can, I think. Yeah. One thing that I think is important too, though, is I think people
underestimate the amount of development that happens when you're a kid,
which is why I'm happy that we talk a lot about like nutrition and habits from childhood and
how important that is for parents to understand for their kids. But like, for example, Brian
DaCosta is another person. If you look up Brian DaCosta on Instagram, he's someone who gets used
to being on drugs all the time because he's maintained a lean physique. He gets really lean.
He gets really lean. He can stay pretty lean, but he's been doing stuff since he was a kid he didn't start doing
compound movements until seven years he was in until his seventh year of lifting and then he
was able to gain a lot of strength but i i think people think that people think that certain people
have had it but i don't think people recognize like look at him look at him people don't think people recognize, like, look at him, look at him. People don't recognize how long some of these guys have been doing, maybe not just weightlifting, but athletics.
You know, guys who have been, men and women.
Is he on the fake natty list?
Like, does people try to blast him all the time?
Yeah, people try to blast him all the time.
First comment, drug-free question mark, and I'm sure everyone's going to be like, no.
And then an estimate of, like, about how much do you think he weighs?
Brian, I'm not sure. I don't really really know his height i'm not sure of his height but if you just look at his physique whatever
height he's at he's at the upper end of that probably weight like if he was if he was five
nine i would assume maybe he's 190 or something let me ask you this who do you think who do you
think is like really overthinking this?
Or who's like thinking, like when I look at these guys and I see the way they're built, I'm kind of more like, hey, that's fucking awesome.
Like that's really cool that that guy can do that.
Or seeing that kid that lifts 700 pounds.
Oh, yeah.
The place I'm going to, I'm not going to a spot of like holy fuck man this kid's probably on a lot
of juice who do you think is doing that like who like is it younger kids you think are doing that
or well i think we had to remember how new social media is because i was thinking about this the
other day um when i was when we were lifting we would look at magazines or we would look at
internet forums or whatever but we were never able to literally interact with the people that we were fans of.
So, for example, I couldn't interact with Greg Plitt.
I couldn't see what is Greg Plitt doing each day?
What is he posting up each day?
What is he showing?
I couldn't do that.
But now I think that there is – because of the access you have to certain people and you can see how they're working out, they're selling programs, you can see what they're doing every single day.
There's a level of closeness that people feel.
And I think that kind of warps how they look at these people.
Because now it's like, you know, some people listen to the podcast.
They're like, wow, I feel like we're friends.
Or Joe Rogan.
They feel like they know him.
Right.
podcast, they're like, wow, I feel like we're friends or Joe Rogan. They feel like they know him. Right. Um, and I think that makes it easier to number one, if you don't like what somebody's
doing and you see it all the time, I think it makes it easier to be like, oh, they're just,
uh, you know, they're, they're lying about it. And also I think the people that do that are
people that are newer to this whole thing, but I get it. If, if you were on year two or three,
and then you see a Brian to cost, or you see a Russ Swole or whatever and they're putting out content every day, it seems like a goal that's very far away.
Even though we do know that your goal should be to become the best version of yourself in whatever you're trying to do, you're inspired by something they're doing and that something is going to be decades away for you if you're trying to achieve that.
So I think it's just, it's odd.
But then also, I was thinking about this too.
Greg and, for example, some people make these Natty or Not videos,
and I was talking to this Atlas Power Shrug guy,
and Andrew, I sent you an IG page.
He gets a little angry about people on gear, right?
Yeah, Atlas Power Shrug.
Check his page out.
He does a lot of heavy zurchers and shit.
He's very strong. He's very strong.
He's very strong. But I was
messaging him back and forth because, you know,
Greg will make these videos and say,
oh, these people have genetics
that are 99.9% and
blah, blah, blah. And as much as I understand
that, going back to what I mentioned about the people
in Africa,
and this isn't
just about black people, but this is also about just the US population.
But I'm going to specifically talk about Africans. This guy's from Ghana. His gym,
you can see his weights are real, his rates are real cheap. He can't afford much. And there are
a lot of Africans that train out of his gym. But the African Americans in the United States
currently are the, most of them are the individuals that came here on the transatlantic slave trade.
So you have a certain percentage of people that are here now, but a vast majority of those people are still in Africa and still in all these other places, which you do not see.
They cannot become influencers.
So when Greg is saying someone like Simeon Panda is on drugs and all of this, as much as I can understand it, I've seen people that are bigger than him.
I've seen people that like if we were able to take more people from there and bring them to the United States, there would be more black people in the NFL.
Like it's just I'm not just saying this about black people.
I'm saying like this is this is how it comes for all groups.
This is how it comes for all groups.
In the United States fitness industry, there is only a certain amount of people that are able to create content at scale where we don't get to really see the genetic diversity of all these other people because many people can't afford to do that.
So I just think we underestimate genetics in the fitness industry.
We underestimate what we believe is elite. What we think is elite in fitness is not elite. It's just maybe the ability to gain size. But elite is when you see NFL players, when you see NBA players, when you see track athletes. These people just choose not to lift weight. But if they chose to come into this industry and lift weight, they would blow everyone out of the fucking water.
I think even the top bodybuilders by the way i
agree and i think like um there's in each in each ethnicity there are so many different versions
like there's people that are from um like i i'm so horrible with this So if I fuck any of this up, please don't clip this and cancel us.
But like in general, you know, there's within like the white culture, there's so many different kinds of people.
I got people like Hapthor Bjornsson.
Like you have like monsters like that.
You have Brock Lesnar, you know, and when they play football, they talk about corn fed white boys, right?
Gronk.
Gronkowski. Yeah. Gronkowski.
Yeah, Gronkowski.
And there's a lot of guys with a ski name at the end.
There's a lot of like the Thor's daughter and all these different guys from all over the world where you see like it's pretty obvious when you talk about height.
Like when you talk about height, it doesn't seem to like offend anybody or bother anybody.
Yeah.
But it's quite obvious.
It's like, oh, well, a lot of people from this country are like 6'3 and up.
You know, a lot of people from these regions, maybe Iceland, Sweden, some of those kinds of places.
Germany.
Maybe some of these people in some of these areas, maybe because of the nutrition they got or maybe because of genetics and because of all different kinds of things, maybe they just evolved to be a little taller.
Maybe there's a group of people that evolved to have a little bit more muscle mass.
Maybe there's a group of people that evolved to, I don't know, maybe even be more coordinated or maybe even be able to see a little bit better.
You know, or just like it could be something so small.
There's probably tons of shit that we don't know quite yet yeah um in olymp when you start to
see people going to a sport you start to have a little bit better understanding of it in olympic
lifting they have so many talented like the chinese olympic lifting team is so good they're
so good at what they do and a lot of a lot of times it has to do with their
body size. Like it's a little bit, some of the greatest Olympic lifters of all time are also
very large. So it doesn't mean that just because you're like large, you can't be good at Olympic
lifting. But some of these lower weight class, maybe a little bit like Mexican people in boxing,
some of these lower weight class people in China, they're like, I mean, these
guys, you don't really even ever even hear of any of these athletes.
They are so fucking good.
These guys are squatting 600 pounds, 500 pounds for reps, front squatting 500 pounds with
their ass to the fucking ground, weighing 140, 150, 160 pounds.
I mean, it's completely insane.
140, 150, 160 pounds.
I mean, it's completely insane.
And so I just think it's helpful just to know, like, there's a lot of different genetics out there.
But there's no reason to put a limiter on what you can do because, again, you can get a lot better. and if you're somebody that is going to pass on your genes,
make sure you pick somebody, no.
When you're going to pass on your genes,
with that kid that you raise,
there are so many great things that you can provide for that child
to help ensure, you're not trying to turn them into a mute,
well, maybe you are.
You're not trying to turn them into like a real mutant or anything,
but why not give them all the tools?
Why not make sure that they don't,
they don't become fat.
I mean,
not like somebody being overweight,
like that's a huge limiting factor.
Let's say that the kid wants to play basketball,
but now he's 14 and he weighs 200 pounds.
It's like,
fuck man,
it's going to be a lot harder for him to play basketball now.
You know?
So if you,
and even beyond that,
the shoes that we put our kids in,
being conscious of the way they sit
and what they, you know,
how they sit and what they eat.
I mean, what you consume,
that's a huge piece of the puzzle.
So the, there's tons of genetics
and then there's epigenetics.
And maybe some of these athletes
that we see that we think are freaks,
we think are mutants or whatever.
Yeah, okay.
I guess we can kind of call them or think whatever we'd like.
But they probably also spend a lot of time not overeating.
And they're probably fairly lean.
So it's like if you want to give a kid a shot, you want to kind of emphasize that they have good nutrition, that they have good – like they're actually getting nourishment from their
nutrition they're not just eating you know chocolate milk and french fries and stuff like
that here and there right yeah um so again kind of going back to just adding on to what you're
talking about so like for you have mexicans yeah there's there's a lot of really really good high
level championship boxers like my uncle he won golden gloves very like fast um yeah yeah absolutely
holy shit yeah the one that told me that soccer was lame so fucking you know it's like oh i gotta
listen to this guy but like even even in uh in woodland we had a guy vicente something he ended
up signing with golden boy um like he was a little bit older than me but like it even in my small ass
town of woodland in like one of like the worst
areas where it's like super low income there was a gym in there like you had to like drive into this
fucking ghetto just to get to this even more ghetto gym but like kids were like if you started
at like 10 years old it was too late for you you can still do it but by all means like just
understand that like it's kind of over already yeah play a lot of catch-up yeah again unless you're athletic like if someone was
athletic came in at 10 maybe they could have a chance but otherwise nope so like they're i don't
want to say they're bred for it but like if they come in at five they're just like okay this kid
has a shot like and he shows like interest and he's actually you know he's coordinated or whatever
so again they're
kind of our bread to start doing this from the get-go so a lot of it is going to be genetics
because maybe his uncle or his dad was also a boxer and he started sooner or it could just be
the fact that he caught on and it's like oh shit like this kid's actually gonna be pretty good but
again it goes back to like the epigenetics and stuff and something i always go back to with like sean baker you know like um this weekend my son ate basically carnivore
at a table where my nieces ate nothing but uh it was just like bean burritos basically
um they're very active they all play soccer they're all does that make you uh kind of anxious
a little bit yeah because i was just like damn
they're eating like no i mean beans maybe right i think that has a little bit of protein
there's in semen eating more protein i sent you guys that panda eating eating the bamboo right
i don't remember i'm gonna send it to you now so we can show everybody but it reminded me of
yeah but so again so real quick uh you know sean baker
explaining to me that like yeah you're putting your son in that like top one percent of his age
group by feeding him this way and i'm just looking around the table and just like damn like i wish i
could just feed my nieces the same way but like that's just one they're not used to eating that
way so they would have fucking hated me but my son was doing good you know and like i i'm happy that
he does like that he's going to continue to eat that way because growing up like i i think i'm
i've i had an opportunity to be able to say i had good genetics but because i ate like shit and i
didn't move it looks like i had bad genetics because i was just like stop playing a sport
i stopped playing everything yeah so like from basically like i could walk i was playing sports all the way up until like sixth grade i
stopped playing baseball because like fuck dude kids were starting to throw the ball really
fucking hard at that age but you also mentioned that up until that point you were like the best
guy on yeah yeah up until then yeah absolutely that was so right up until then so like fifth grade that's
when things kind of started getting weird because the kids were getting bigger than sixth grade it
was like over but yeah up until that point it was like i was either like the one or two best guy on
the team like by far because oh i could run straight you know we're talking like elementary
school so it wasn't like i was like hall of fame or anything and then in junior high after eighth
grade i stopped playing basketball because the same thing.
Kids were just like way stronger and faster than me.
But I stopped moving and I never ate good anyway.
So like I could easily just be like, oh, I have fucking shitty genetics because look at what I look like at senior year or whatever, you know, rail thin, tall, goofy, whatever.
But it's like well yeah dude
you you didn't move and you didn't eat like of course you're gonna look like you have bad genetics
but it could have been the epigenetics like it could have like could have caused this to happen
well and look at when uh we've had a bunch of guests come in and show you stuff you're pretty
damn good at mimicking a lot of it i remember graham just showing like and and i think a couple
people have actually just given
you a boost of confidence by mentioning something to you. But like, Graham was like, oh, Andrew,
you could do this. And Graham went from being on his knees to jumping up and he landed on like
one foot. And you were like, okay. And then you tried it and you did. And like, well, you had a
total look of surprise on your face. And Graham's like, yeah, I knew you could do that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I mean, thank you.
I appreciate that.
Because I have my older brother, that's how I learned how to throw, how to run, how to catch.
Because I would just look at him and be like, oh, I do the same thing.
And because of that, that's why I was usually the best guy on each team that I was on.
But again, before people, you know, freak out or whatever, it's like we're talking elementary school, right? It was very young.
But at that age, it was very, very fucking obvious.
I was the kid that played all the important positions.
I was a pitcher and first baseman and everything in the middle just because I was the only one that could actually catch a damn ball and throw it straight or whatever.
But think about that.
If you didn't end up stopping when you stopped because there are certain kids got bigger. But like let's say you dive into something that maybe was more your forte in terms of sport and you just kept developing.
Because I think every single person has that point of resistance when they're a kid or whatever.
When like maybe they start to go behind but you figure out something just to keep things going in that direction.
Things would be very different.
It's literally just not stopping.
And your environment was playing a role initially.
Absolutely.
Like your brother,
your brother was part of that environment
that taught you things to be ahead.
So all that needed to happen
was just to literally keep it going.
Yeah, if I never stopped playing soccer,
I would have been so much better off.
My brother did get a full ride,
but he just was like,
I don't really care about school.
And he just went to work and said,
didn't even graduate.
Yeah.
Because he just didn't give a fuck he eventually went back and you know
got his uh whatever diploma whatever the fuck it's called ged there it is um for myself yeah if i
didn't have my uncles telling me that soccer was you know for girls is literally what they said
ironman i would have definitely stayed playing soccer and i would have definitely thrived because
i was pretty fast for my size you know and again um i sprouted
pretty quickly like considering like other kids my age i was usually uh one of the taller ones
yeah but i just remember i thought it was so interesting that dudes that were like my height
were like super uncoordinated like literally like tripping over their big ass feet and i just always
thought that that was interesting just like that's. Funny thing that you're mentioning though,
is I remember when I was younger,
I was the kid that was like,
didn't have the greatest coordination when I was,
but,
but this thing,
when I was like 16,
I started playing soccer again.
And even when I was 13,
because I was growing so quickly,
but the kids that were wrecking were those smaller kids.
Some of them,
Mexican kids and Latinin american kids they
had this ability to move in coordination that the big kids just couldn't handle or do they
were wrecking everybody it's because they were in that ballet folk folklorico is that like what is
that what is that it's just uh so it's ballet but it's ballet folklorico there you go i couldn't
fucking so it's just that when they do this fucking mexican dancing and shit looks like they're sea walking so i think that's where
they get it from yeah man so it doesn't all come down to size it comes down to like some of the
ways you're moving and some of the things you're doing but it also is just not stopping yeah that's
that was my problem i stopped yeah do you think you were maybe not as coordinated um
because you weren't playing at that time?
Or like what do you think happened?
Well, yeah.
I mean I had to – everything was good until I got Ashkut Slaughter.
Did you play soccer when you were – okay.
Yeah, 6 to 13.
And then 13 to 16 I had to stop because of Ashkut Slaughter.
I was growing too fast and I couldn't run.
And then 16 I started playing again.
So I was playing a bit of catch-up.
I gained a lot of weight in that time because I started lifting.
But I had to play catch-up.
But starting to work on all that coordination stuff, I started catching up pretty well.
And then I got surgery again, my foot.
But yeah, what I think is like – because I look at my cousins, for example, right?
My cousins – I have a bunch of cousins in Nigeria on my dad's side.
And I kind of see the way they look.
They don't lift.
Okay.
They don't do as they don't do near the physical activities and stuff I do.
And they have good frames, but they're not looking crazy.
The thing is though, with my environment, I was lifting since I was 13.
I was playing soccer since I was six.
So my environment allowed me to be able to do this because if it was just it was just purely
genetics why are like my cousins are big but why are they not like built they look like they could
get built but it's like they weren't doing it for and even if they lived here and had a gym
like they just might not have the same they might not care that much yeah but i don't like it that
much this is the thing i think people would be surprised though because of all the people that
we see on social like russ brian da costa sam okonola all
these people that i've mentioned they've been physical for a long time and i'm talking about
more than lifting they played a sport they did something that primed them and prepped them
for what they're doing now and even stan efforting you knowerding, Chris Bumstead played a sport. Dana Lynn Bailey played soccer.
Eddie Hall was a swimmer.
You see, I think it's more than just – I think it's like lifting is good,
but as you're seeing too, like you did sports,
and you're getting back your ability to move in all these different ways,
and you're seeing how you're now – your new capacity is unlocking a lot of things
for stuff you're doing in the gym, stuff you're doing with running, stuff you're just doing during the day.
It makes a difference.
It makes a huge difference.
Andrew, you have that panda?
Mm-hmm.
This is Encima.
As soon as he pops open a legendary pop tart.
The sweet roll.
Sweet roll.
That's just pretty accurate. I really want to open another one am i gonna be that fat on air wait till we get off oh i'm sorry you need the uh audio oh shit my bad what is this audio
dude it's unbelievable it's the best part all right how cute that thing is that thing would tear you apart get the claws
oh that sounds amazing it's just rifling through some bamboo yeah
oh chew with your mouth closed bro yeah i wouldn't i wouldn't do that dude
why does that sound so good though
it's so cute my wife sent this to me the other day and i was like i immediately just thought
of and seen i'm like as soon as he fucking tears into something it's over with but yo
polynesians all right oh man we would talk about this too polynesians are another group of people
where there is a certain amount of polynesians in the United States, right?
But you see when they – in the NFL, you see how big they can get.
Now, over there, there's even more and a lot of them are playing rugby.
But you see how big those people can get in a good or a bad way, right?
But they just have the ability – joints, everything.
They just have the ability to get huge bigger than what a normal
their fucking legs a lot of times get massive yeah and you're like is that just like genetics
or is that because of what they do or probably combination right a combination and when you
were mentioning olympic weightlifting let's not forget about the eastern bloc countries are
dominators in that right so like people from the middle east and eastern bloc countries dominate
olympic lifting peds i was gonna say peds but like there's something that probably allows them Like people from the Middle East and Eastern Bloc countries dominate Olympic lifting. PEDs.
I was going to say PEDs, but there's something that probably allows them.
Like there's something within an aspect of that ethnicity that probably – I don't know.
Is it ethnicity race?
I don't know what to use.
That allows them to produce – I'm the worst at it.
I think we should probably use ethnicity.
For some reason, race just sounds real Hitler-y.
That's a good term. maybe we should stay away from that
one um oh man hitlery yeah because let's use race you just start thinking massa and then you go
master race and that's just like oh we got to stay away from okay so it gets to be ugly he was uh
talona hofu hofuanga i fucking tear what pronouncing shit but the 49ers best fucking uh defensive player
this year he was polly or is polynesian sorry yeah uh polynesian high school player of the year
so there it says in his wikipedia if i fuck that up i'm sorry ben rothlisberger talked about troy
palomalu and he's like he's like troy would show up like in sandals and he's like this is
professional football and the motherfucker's out there in sandals and he's
like intercepting passes and shit yeah in sandals yeah because they're like they're like like they
were just doing like seven on seven drills like it's you know it wasn't like the most important
thing yeah and they're like dude you like you're gonna kick those off or whatever he's like no i'm
good you need to intercept the ball and does all this shit remember those blitzes that he would do
yeah this guy like athletically,
and it's so weird when you see him
in an interview now,
he's so kind
and he's just so chill.
You're like,
this makes no sense.
He was so fierce.
With all the hair.
Yeah,
his hair going crazy.
Yeah.
He was amazing.
He had beautiful hair.
That's who they keep comparing
this 49er player to,
obviously.
I've never seen anybody
quite like him.
I mean,
he was unbelievable.
Yeah.
Fearless, just like a fucking madman
pull up some highlights but yeah i was yeah that that had me watching a lot of like rugby
highlights because then i started looking up a lot of polynesian dudes oh yeah i see that one
guy who just trucks everybody oh that was disgusting the guys were running people over
like bo jackson and tech mobile back in day. People were just popping off this guy.
Man, that shit's cool.
Rugby.
Rugby's a fucking great sport.
Hey, dude, what's going on with the Jets?
They got a really good team this year.
The Jets are fucking doing great.
I was just looking at an old Jets game right here.
But, dude, yeah, they got that rookie Garrett Wilson.
He's doing good.
Zach Wilson, the fucking quarterback, he looks like he could be the real deal.
Yeah, I'm not going to get too excited.
Yeah, don't.
They're doing pretty well.
They've won three games,
which is three games more
than they've won in the last two years probably.
Quick question for both of you.
You guys are both big NFL football fans,
but as I was looking through the comments
of these rugby videos,
I saw a lot of people who were like,
and Americans think they're men
because they pay attention to football.
How do you two feel about that?
Seeing rugby versus football.
Yeah, I think rugby is an amazing sport.
I don't know a ton about rugby,
but I think something needs to be done in the NFL.
I think something needs to be done soon with the helmets.
These guys are getting fucking hurt, man. And it's not cool. It's not good. And guys in rugby get hurt all the NFL. I think something needs to be done soon with the helmets. These guys are getting fucking hurt, man. And it's not cool. It's not good.
And guys in rugby get hurt all the time too, but it's just like they'll separate their shoulder.
Yes, they might get knocked out, but you get knocked out in a sport like
that or you get knocked out in MMA, you get knocked out from a punch or
knee combo. Maybe someone just caught you on the chin. The overall
abuse that your brain took
you know accumulative for one fight that you got your ass kicked in is smaller than it would be if
you were boxing because in boxing you got gloves on and in football you're wearing these helmets
but the helmet that was meant to protect you is now i mean it's now clearly hurting you obviously
like you ride a motorcycle or something makes sense to wear a helmet because you don't have any control if you if you fall
or crash or whatever but in football these things are being used and and they're being used as a
weapon that's what i was wondering and man more and more like it's like gross man i love football
but like i was watching the lsu game maybe two weeks ago, the opening kickoff guy,
like,
I don't even really know what happened to him,
but he potentially may have gotten paralyzed.
He's a fucking 19 year old kid,
you know?
And it's like,
what needs to happen?
What needs to happen for this shit to get like shut down or thought about more?
Like,
like let's just hypothetically say that Tom Brady dies in the field.
What happens the next week? We just play brady dies on the field what happens the next
week we just play again or like the what does the nfl take a week off because one of the quarterbacks
got hit so hard he died like the miami quarterback he got really jacked up i don't know man there's
not not in a good state um i contacted uh chris nowitzki i think that's how you say his name
uh he's been studying this stuff for a long time.
He had some CTE.
He was a former pro wrestler.
And I'm trying to get him on the podcast to talk about this stuff a little bit more.
Because I love football, but I don't like seeing people get hurt, man.
And this is just like...
Oh, fucking hell.
Yeah, this is just getting to be...
It's too much, man.
It's too much even for...
Again, I'm a huge fan.
I love seeing the big hits.
I love seeing all the stuff.
But I don't know what's unique about the last maybe two years or so.
But people are just getting crushed.
And I don't think they're aggressive enough with these protocols they got for concussions.
And unfortunately, everybody might call them a pussy or whatever.
But like, man, if you get concussed, you might need to be out for four or five weeks.
And everyone's going to say, well, that's your season.
And it's like, well, that's your life.
You know what I mean?
So if it blows your season, like that's a sport that you're in, but we're not going to let you go.
I saw the UFC getting a little gross, too, sometimes when they're allowing some of the fighters to fight for so long.
see getting a little gross too sometimes when they're allowing some of the fighters to fight for so long like rampage jackson and some other dudes you're just like man i just please please
like don't let the guy fight again um the d like uh diaz like i'd love to see him like i think he
retired but like just he fucking did it man he's one of the greatest of all time he's amazing i admire the hell out
of him i think he's made i think he's dude i love that guy like that guy is so full blast
and he's such a uh epitome of like a fighter it's really cool like i think he's uh you know
he's kind of a loose cannon but like he gets done with a fight and he's pretty whooped and they're asking him questions and he's like yo fuck the rock and they're like what he goes yeah i don't fucking
care about the rock you know and then he apologized a little bit he's like i don't mean to you know
say anything about the rock but he's like if you're gonna have someone give a strap to somebody
have it be you know mike tyson or something like that yeah yeah it was but like that's just that
guy he's always that way he's always gonna fight all the time for everything but i just don't want to
see people getting really fucked up yeah i love nate diaz i forgot which fight but they the post
fight interview they asked him like who he wanted to fight next he's like man everybody sucks it was
so good i love that but i think you're right dude there's going to be some changes coming very soon to the nfl um you can't have somebody freak out the way that uh tua did on the floor like that
like and not have some kind of reaction i think the issue is um he went under concussion protocol
the week before yeah i'm telling this because in semen probably this is all news to you um so he
he got hit really hard a week before and when he
fell the week before he landed on his butt and like then and rolled to his back and then he
slammed his head pretty hard so was that that dolphins guy right there that had that yeah and
it wasn't that particular play that play got like thrown down which was way more violent so this
play it didn't look as bad because he like rolled he rolled and then he hit his head but you're like well he hit his head but he's got a helmet on his head on the ground it just didn't
look that bad but then he got up and like he was kind of confused and i think he like held his back
so people thought he like hurt his back but then he like stumbled and he fell yeah and then he
stayed in the game i think for a little while right yeah he he underwent concussion protocol
whatever the fuck that is like the miami dolphins
uh like staff right and i was getting they got so much heat because they're like no you're good to
go go play seven days later got potentially concussed again and uh dr uh bo hightower
actually broke it down and he was just like yeah this is what your body will naturally do like when
you get can get this type of concussion again your body will naturally try to like block itself
because it has no idea what the fuck's going on so your his body naturally like his fingers got
all dislocated and shit yeah it was to cover himself up because his body was like dude you
got fucked up we need to protect ourselves right now and so like it was a different type of like
concussion compared to what he got i guess the week prior but But the issue is just like, okay, if this was UFC
and you underwent concussion protocol, you couldn't fight for,
I forgot how long.
I think it might be like-
Six months.
Yeah, something crazy, right?
And again, that would be like, well, good luck next year, kid.
Yeah.
Which sucks, but like, dude, man, what if, dude, yeah,
what if something worse happened?
And now that people are talking about,
he's like getting ready to come back already.
And I'm just like, God.
It's tough.
I don't know what the answer is because that's millions of dollars being moved back and forth.
I actually think they need to get rid of helmets.
I was going to say.
I legitimately think that. This is somewhat uneducated, but I've seen before where people in rugby have talked about how rugby is a bit safer.
Because since they don't have helmets, they're a bit more – like even when you watch rugby tackles, they're more tactical with the way that they take somebody down.
Yeah, you can think about it way different without a helmet on.
Yeah, yeah.
Like if you watch it, you're like – even the most savage tackles still seem to be safer.
And it also includes the way that guys hit the ground because when I think. You bring up a great point. You're not trying to
knock each other out when you're playing football. You're trying to tackle
the guy. You think about collegiate
wrestling or something like that. How many knockouts
are there in collegiate wrestling from trying to tackle
each other down? I realize it's a totally different
sport and it's one-on-one and stuff like that,
but you're going to have a
way different strategy. Those NCAA
guys that are going in for
double legs and trying to take somebody else down they're not trying to like ram their head in the other guy's
head because it wouldn't be a good idea for either guy it wouldn't be like so like when if anybody
were to just go watch some rugby highlights just watch some rugby tackles you'll see like number
one the way they tackle is different but number two the way that they actually when they take the
force of the tackle they're better with manipulating their head when they hit the ground.
This might not be the best example.
Oh, best example?
Because these are just hard hits.
But look, look.
Yeah, those are great.
He dipped on that one.
See?
Yeah.
But you see.
He's just getting fucking rocked.
You know what's cool about it, too, is you know that some of these guys
know that they're going to get blasted.
You see the way they hit the ground.
You see the way they tackle.
You're not getting speared like you would
when you see stuff in the NFL.
It's like they tend to handle
forces better. I could see that.
Yeah, that was a great tackle.
I don't know.
Mark, do you think it's
too late to start
moving the helmets because
like they're kind of already going 100 miles per hour yeah they're still going to go 100 miles per
hour without a helmet that's what everybody that's what everybody will say and that's what
everybody think but that's what needs to be done that's crazy nfl needs to lose their fucking
helmets or have some sort of um some sort of version of a much smaller helmet. What the fuck was that?
You know, I know football got like banned in the United States at one point
because there was people dying and they didn't have,
but that was also a long time ago when like the football players were like fat dudes
that came from the war and that were drinking all the time.
You know, it's like we've got a different breed of athlete nowadays.
So, yeah, I think something needs to be, something do you see that the way they go in for the tackle but then the way
that they they they're they're not just their heads aren't just tapping the ground the way they
handle force seems to be much more skilled too it seems like when they get rocked they're they're
kind of getting more points on the floor like every person's kind of catching themselves versus
like the uh the dolphins quarterback he just fucking let kind of catching themselves versus like the Dolphins quarterback.
He just fucking let his head get smashed on the floor or on the field, I should say.
Yeah.
Yeah, I think maybe that could work and it can kind of go back to being more athletic
because, right, when somebody does get rocked,
they don't even show it on the replay anymore because they want to hide that.
So maybe moving more towards that direction because like it would change the sport i know
people would be pissed and the players would be pissed but i just think i don't know they got to
figure out some sort of movement i don't know how they do it i don't know if it's tried by the xfl
first or one of these other good idea yeah i mean the xfl hasn't even really officially
well maybe it did start last year or something but it's just getting underway some of these other football leagues that are
starting up and i want to say that i heard about a league that doesn't have helmets but i i don't
know i don't know if i just like thought that up or if i actually saw that somewhere but dude think
about this these nfl players have been used to tackling and landing and doing this in helmets
for so long yeah if you just take away
their helmets they're still big athletes there's going to be a lot of fuckery that happens because
unlike these rugby players who have been doing this for a long time and they know how to handle
that with no helmet on these nfl guys might still handle shit the same way and that could it would
change the sport a lot too because i don't know what you do about the interior linemen you know
in football there's there's five offensive and five defensive linemen.
They basically just kind of slam into each other.
But football players are not taught to really do much of anything with their head from the time you're young.
You don't ever hit anybody.
You're not supposed to hit anybody with your head.
I remember going to a football camp, and some of the guys on my team, they were all excited because they had these marks on their helmet.
Yeah.
And, like, they had, like, indentations in their helmet.
Like, you know, they were, like, smashing people with their head, right?
Fucking hell.
And we had a Joe Colecco who played for the Jets.
He was a defensive lineman.
And he was a pro bowler.
I mean, he's like a legendary football player.
And he said, hey, he's like, I want to see.
He was a defensive lineman.
He said, I want to see the helmets of some of the defensive linemen.
And all these kids that had all these marks all over them were holding up their helmets.
He's like, your helmet should never look like that.
He's like, use your hands.
And he's like, use your head.
Like, be smart, but don't ram your head into people.
And from the time I was young, I mean, will they show you how to do a form tackle?
A form tackle does not involve your helmet at all.
This stuff of, like, people, you know, head hunting and stuff like that, it's a much newer thing.
And you're trying to really dislodge the ball.
And even guys like Ronnie Lott,
some of these guys that were accused of targeting just the head
and trying to knock guys out,
I guess maybe they took liberties here and there,
but most of the time they were hitting pretty clean,
and a lot of times they were getting the person and the ball.
It didn't look like they were launching launching themselves with their own head which is
really foolish because when you launch yourself with your own head you're more at risk than the
person that you're going to hit yeah i don't think we would accept football uh any less violent
though um when i say we i mean like americans because uh over this past weekend uh tom brady
got sacked. Clean sack.
He just got spun around a little bit, and then he hit the floor.
Yeah, and the guy threw him down like a little tiny extra.
A tiny bit.
Like a fucking tiny bit.
I think the guy was excited.
And roughing the passer was thrown,
so that's a 15-yard penalty plus first down.
So it's a fucking series changer.
And it's just like all the comments that I've seen on Twitter were like,
I guess we can't tackle in football anymore.
We're going to have to play two-hand touch by this time next year.
And it's like, well, fuck, dude.
I kind of want to watch Brady play a couple more games too, but it's tough.
I don't think they'll accept it.
There's a lot of things that are fucked in this country, and they're not going to change.
And football is probably one of them. But would like to see some sort of like action towards
something different so people don't keep getting hurt someone's gonna die someone's gonna die in
a football field i think the reason why you care so much because like some people might might hear
this and be like oh no it's just football man i think it's because number one you've played and
like you you really understand both of you guys actually you guys really understand what
goes into these athletes bodies because you've been an athlete so you actually have some sympathy
towards them because sometimes i see some people commenting about this and it's just like
they're talking about athletes like they're just chess pieces like these aren't human lives that
potentially have families that have people that care about them too and when one of them's out
like you mentioned andrew it's just the season but you don't realize their life is now affected and once they're off the field no one's
going to be talking about them again yeah that's how pete that that's how it is yeah i i mean i'm
looking at like injury updates like trying to like set my fantasy football lineup and in that
i'm seeing people like fuck come on kenan allen quit being a bitch like you know to get back on
the field and i'm like dude he pulled his hamstring like like he's kind of fucked for a little while
you're sitting on your couch and you don't even know what it's like to have a hamstring because
you can't feel your fucking hamstring you sedentary fuck yeah it's never done one leg
or they did one and got a cramp and that was it yeah and they're like i'm out yeah
i said fuck that oh my god But they're making millions of dollars.
That's what happens when you make millions of dollars.
That's true.
I can hear that comment right now.
I can hear him.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's tough.
Hopefully, I don't know, man.
I don't know what can be done.
Let's see if we can pull up this clip of Dana White.
Dana White.
Was that on YouTube?
I'm sorry.
It was kind of all over the place.
It was on Instagram.
It was on YouTube.
Basically, Dana White got in shape.
He had a guy consult him.
And basically, I believe he did a telemeter test, which is a way that they can check the length of your telemeters.
I don't know exactly what that means or what that says, but they can supposedly kind of tell how long you can live and um you know a lot of people that listen to the show a lot of people that know the
ufc they know dana white and they've seen him probably go up and down a bit and uh me being a
big fan of the ufc and seeing dana white you know throughout the years his body change here and
there sometimes i'm like oh my god he looks he looks pretty good like looks pretty muscular looks like he's into like a bro workout hitting up his body change here and there. Sometimes I'm like, oh my God, he looks, he looks pretty good. Like looks pretty muscular. Looks like he's into like a bro workout, hitting
up some bench pressing here and there. Um, but, but sometimes he looks like kind of bloated and
kind of unhealthy and you're like, man, like the guy has enough muscle mass on him and he's young
enough to like kind of turn things around. So it'd be cool if he just did. And, and, you know,
he's got the resources and stuff to do so.
And he's got the people around him to kind of support him.
So anyway, it was just cool to see that he finally made a decision.
But, you know, some people sometimes need to be backed into a corner.
And they need to maybe understand how dangerous eating highly processed foods could be.
And how dangerous, like, just overeating can be.
We do it for decades um i don't really know anything about dana white i don't know if he parties or
whatever but i'm imagining like when you have the resources that he has probably gets to have you
know extravagant dinners here and there and he gets to drink and stuff like that and so
that shit adds up it shows up on your waist and it shows up on your face. But he made a commitment and he turned things around.
They don't have the new blood work from him yet.
So I guess they have like previous blood work that showed that from this guy's interpretation of his blood work.
He's like he got about 10 years to live.
I emailed you that short, Andrew.
Okay, thank you.
And he's supposed to like get a more recent blood work done.
And they want to kind of prove like look at what this
diet did the cool thing is
it's the ketogenic diet which won't
die and won't go away
no matter how much people want it to go away
but something like these
little sticky buns from legendary foods
kind of fall into that category of being
keto but sometimes when people
go on these keto diets they kind
of think of these
keto foods and this is kind of like all the stuff they eat or they do the fat bombs and
they kind of do, you see it all the time.
You see it with people trying to get rid of gluten and they have gluten-free brownies
and you're like, that's not what we were trying to do.
Are you eating another one?
Are you eating another one?
Well, it's protein and it has less than one gram of sugar, so you're fine.
How come he's so jacked?
Is it just from the collagen from the legendary sticky buns?
The anabolic steroid handbook.
It could be that or the mustache.
Joking.
Joking.
Those ones taste like the like the donuts like gas station
donuts which i'm pretty sure like in in like not not good and like to go out and buy those
like that's not the first place you go to when it comes to a dessert is there literal little
pieces of chocolate chunks there might be there's pieces of chocolate legendary you have outdone yourself
my friends it's unbelievable right yeah there's chocolate chunks in here bro there's little mini
like chocolate chunks how do they do that without sugar i mean and we still haven't warmed this up
i just oh 190 calories it's really good that's amazing and 20 grams of protein they got varying calories i will say that
uh like the chocolate one has 220 calories but they're freaking phenomenal they're really good
they did a great job i mean ron penna i mean he's i've been trying to tell people yeah but he's like
goddamn batman over there so real quick because we've been talking about it so it's eat legendary
dot com uh promo code power project to save i about it. So it's eatlegendary.com, promo code POWERPROJECT to save.
I forgot how much, but it's in the description.
Make sure you guys go check that out.
Sorry.
Anyway, so we ended up kind of taking a little breather there, Mark,
until you got back so that way you could hear the whole thing.
Good.
Thank you.
Thank you.
And tell you when you're going to die.
And he's right within a month.
You're killing me right now.
How crazy is that?
That's crazy.
I connect with this guy.
And they come in and they do my blood work.
And they scrape the insides of your cheeks to do your DNA.
And the following Wednesday is when my results are supposed to be back.
So he calls me.
All I'm talking about is finding out this date.
And he says, I'm going to come out personally and walk you through your blood work.
And I'm like, motherfucker.
I don't need a cliffhanger for that.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Exactly.
So he ends up coming out.
He sits down for three and a half hours and goes through my blood work.
And I'm all fucked up.
Everything else that could possibly be bad is bad.
He gave me 10.4 years to live.
This guy can take your blood and tell you when you're going to die.
I saw one of the other clips, too,
that was showing him getting a little bit better shape and stuff like that, too.
It was showing him being leaner.
But basically, he looks good.
He's got a little bit of abs going on.
If you type in Dana White on Google.
I want to say that he lost 35 pounds.
Some people were like, he looks the same.
But you see so many different images of Dana White,
you don't know when anything's from.
But yeah, if you're following him a little closely,
you'll see that he has made some major improvements. I've been a huge proponent of a ketogenic diet for a really
long time. And I think it's a great place for some people to start. I do think that eliminating a food
group is sometimes a really good idea, especially for those people that feel like they just can't
get momentum and they can't uh or not can't but they
just having such a hard time uh adhering to you know a nutritional protocol sometimes it's good
just to say you know what fuck carbs i'm just not going to eat them yeah especially if you overeat
them quite a bit one one interesting thing about um like i was telling you guys over text the you
know andrew you remember in a i'm burping you remember in a, I'm burping a lot. You remember in the book, You Are the Placebo and a bunch of other books, there have been mentioned where like, you know, let's say cancer patients were told that they had six months to live or a year to live. And then literally they'd make it past that boom and then they die because they'd expect and that like, that's what they were going towards.
respect and that like that's what they were going towards i think it's kind of somewhat risky for a doc to say okay with the way your trajectory is going i think you have 10.5 years because they're
going to be some people that start making lifestyle changes like dana who are like okay i'm gonna
shift everything i'm gonna live past that but some people might really take that to heart and they'll
be like fuck we have 10 years right and maybe they'll live those that 10 years and then they'll they'll die because there have been so many cases where
phantom death you remember phantom death phantom death is when i think there are a few people who
this is it was like one of the leading causes of of dying from covid right i was just fear i yeah
yeah yeah i'm not sure if it's called phantom death but there have been there there were people that like uh have like died from certain illnesses but they actually didn't
end up even having the oh yeah i don't know if it's called phantom death i feel like i'm
misspeaking with that phrase but yeah because they munchausen syndrome or whatever it's called
very uneducated on this but that's sounds like Sounds like a snack. This is that kind of thing. Yeah. That's where that's risky.
But you can change your lifestyle factors so that – I don't know.
The delivery is odd.
Yeah.
I'll put it that way.
But was the doctor he went to specifically for that sort of thing or did the doctor – did he go to get like his labs checked like at Merrick Health and then they were just like, hey, dude, we got to talk?
I think he measured his telomeres too. Okay. So it was like a thing that he wanted to know then, right at Merrick Health. And then they were just like, hey, dude, we got to talk. I think he measured his telomeres too.
Okay, so it was like a thing that he wanted to know then, right?
I believe so.
Yeah, specific like DNA tests as well along with the blood work.
I think he probably was looking for something that could give him definitive information on like what he should do next.
And he probably just was, I don't know, like maybe,
maybe he had other health complications.
Maybe he just wasn't feeling well.
Yeah.
And he was like,
what the fuck?
Like this sucks.
Um,
cause that's what happens is like sometimes people,
they,
they can't adhere to a nutritional protocol for a while and they'll just push it off and
push it off,
push it off.
And for Dana White,
it was never like a body weight thing.
It wasn't like he was hanging out like super obese or anything.
He just had some extra weight on him that he could have lost
that could have made him healthier.
And so over a period of time, that extra weight, I guess,
accumulated and turned into something that he wanted to make a change with,
I guess.
Yeah, Paulo Costa said Dana White's on the secret juice.
I saw an article mentioning that. Paulo Costaa was like he's on juice and paulo
costa is a fighter that everyone thinks is on stuff he's not
huge but yeah there's a jack for a fighter the
video there's a video clip of uh nate diaz
talking about how everyone's on shit and then it cuts to dana white
he goes they're like uh yeah i forgot who they asked him about they asked him oh if it surprised
him that bones jones uh tested positive or something he's like everybody's on steroids
and it just cuts to a clip of tina white but yeah he's probably using some uh trt i mean
people are using that kind of stuff they're using using protocols like that for health, you know.
So I don't know.
I don't know, like, you know, what to say on that other than, like, if you get your hormones optimized, it seems like it can help you a lot with weight loss.
And it seems like weight loss is a big enemy, you know, just trying to lose body fat and trying to get control of your diet is a, is a huge thing for a lot of people. I'd imagine that when he showed that picture,
let me put it back up here. Um, this image probably had a lot of people saying, Oh,
he's on shit now. Um, but I would imagine all those blood markers that were,
cause he's just said everything was fucked like i'd imagine they're
probably a lot better now right yeah and i guess him and his uh doctor from what i saw they said
that they don't have that blood work done quite yet but they're going to get it and hopefully
it would be cool if if it would be cool if there was some like reverse in that but uh
you know this is like a this is like 12 weeks later,
but I don't know,
like,
I don't know if they reversed anything,
you know,
like just cause he got abs doesn't mean anything.
Got it.
Okay.
I mean,
it really doesn't mean a whole lot,
but we do know if you can drop,
you know,
about 10% of your,
uh,
your body weight that you usually do,
uh,
help with a lot of your markers of health.
So yeah,
he probably accomplished that.
Have you guys seen if he's getting more hate or praise for like a 12-week transformation i have no idea no idea okay i'm
curious but i want to ask both of you guys this because i was talking to smoky in the gym the
other day um and we were talking about like testosterone and he was he mentioned a pretty
interesting analogy because i was like dude like i'm i use you know red light glasses i make
sure to get morning and evening sun my nutrition is in check and i like i was wondering like if
people just did some of these practices for a prolonged period of time their testosterone
would probably go up because you know we've heard that like back in the 20s and 30s like our
grandfathers or whatever they had a higher average testosterone than most young men do now
and then smoky mentioned something interesting.
He's like, yeah, I'll do some of that stuff.
You take stuff to like to the next level because you're wearing blue blockers.
I'm not going to do that.
But he then asked me, he's like, what is some habit that you, you know, you couldn't do
without, right?
That speeds up your progress.
I'm like, well, getting good sleep because that allows me to do everything else well.
So I get to recover well.
He's like, well, taking some testosterone allows me to kind of like cheat code a little bit like it's
to get to like levels of i think he mentioned like 800 to 1000 nanometers per deciliter he's like
i don't have to have everything in check for me to be able to be at adequate levels right i can i
can go without the blue blockers i can get decent sleep and it's like that he
mentioned it's like uh if i because i was asking him this too and sorry to ramble on guys but this
is where the question stemmed from i just remembered i asked him hey if you know if a
young kid gets on test how can you explain to them like if you're doing that you're going to feel
really good but why would you ever want to stop right if you go from if you go to feel really good, but why would you ever want to stop, right? If you go to feeling really good while on HRT, why would you ever stop doing it?
And Smokey was like, yeah, I mean like there doesn't make to be any reason why I'd stop now since I've already been doing it.
It'd be like if you started getting bad sleep.
Like obviously there's no reason you would fuck up your sleep.
That's what I would feel if I stopped taking testosterone.
So it's an odd thing.
It makes you wonder.
Like, there is a certain age where maybe you do want to get on,
but do you ever get off?
Is there ever a reason to get off?
If you –
People used to.
Yeah, I was going to just real quick.
You'll have a way better –
But you used to off of crazy dosages, right?
Yeah, they used to cycle, yeah.
Yeah.
Before you give, like, a legit really good answer mark um i would just say like if you're just you hate pinning yourself like on a regular basis like uh i mean you got to deal with fucking
injecting yourself multiple times a week like that's a literal pain in the ass sometimes so
it's like i could imagine somebody being like,
uh,
whatever we'll say,
20 years old being like,
no,
I'm going to do this forever.
It's like,
well,
fuck dude.
What if 20 years in,
you're just like,
God damn tired of it.
Like you're fucked.
Like you have to keep doing it at that point.
I mean,
again,
40,
maybe I'll say 10 years.
Cause at 30 years old,
you should still have plenty of testosterone,
natural testosterone,
but you've already crushed it for 10 years and so like i mean we'll say two pins a week for 10 years straight it's a lot of needles that are being injected i'm just having a lot of fun with
what i do you know i love training i love running um because i chose to do performance hunting drugs a long time ago.
I just have chose like I think this is what I'm probably going to do for a long time.
I might come off at some point and test that out as well.
I think I'm young enough to fuck with that and kind of see what that would look like.
I mean, why not?
And even if I went back on, all it would do is give me like more results just because I would,
you know,
I would,
uh,
resensitize yourself.
Yeah.
Basically.
Yeah.
Resensitize myself.
And,
uh,
it would be like starting all over again,
you know,
in some ways.
So halfway would suck,
but halfway would be like a great challenge and would be a lot of fun.
I think people just got to feel it.
They got to like,
kind of think about what they think is going to be best for them. And, um, uh, performance enhancing drugs has been like,
it's been a pretty big part of my life. Like it's, it's, uh, it's been, it's been a tool that has
assisted a bunch of stuff that I really enjoy that I really love doing. Yeah. And probably like in SEMA probably feels great every day learning new stuff
and tackling some of these things.
And I feel the same fucking way.
You know,
I just made a different,
I made a different choice.
We're just on a different ends of the spectrum when it comes to that.
But I,
uh,
I made the choice.
I feel like everything's clicking and everything's going really good.
Um, I just got more blood work done.
I'll have the results back on that.
But I've been pretty consistent over the last couple of years with getting blood work done.
I've had things be off before.
But, you know, we've ran through some of my blood work on one of the shows, right?
And we've talked about it forever.
And I've had things come and go and go up and down and like there has never been anything
except for when I was heavy when I was power lifting that was like a real red flag you know
there has never been anything like where it's it's been wacky but I have had a red blood cell
count be high and like you know some shit like. But those are things that I track that I watch. I pay attention to it and I don't want to just because I like PEDs, I don't want to be unhealthy.
You know, I don't want to just, you know, completely, uh, throw out other aspects of
my health. And I do realize that they do carry some dangers. So, um, when I get the blood work
done, I try to be as diligent as I can with it. Uh, but also,
you know, to like,
I don't know,
a reasonable extent,
like how far do I really,
you know,
do I want to like be on the spot with every fucking thing that I do?
I'm working on it.
It's like a work in progress.
I try to do a little bit better at each thing all the time and I'm getting better sleep.
I'm lifting better.
My mobility is getting better.
Like it seems like everything's continuing to improve.
And it seems like I can continue to improve at a bunch of different things all at the same time.
So for me, it feels good.
I just don't feel like I have any reason to change it.
So if you're somebody that's young, that's like trying to up you know, up your game and you're trying to, you know,
get stronger and you don't necessarily, like performance enhancing drugs is not where you
start. And I know like I've taken them for a long time, but it wasn't where I started. Like
just start lifting, start running, start doing some of the things, whatever it is that you want
to do, play around with it.
Mess around with some supplements.
See what happens with some supplements.
See what happens with eating more food.
Eat six times a day.
Try to eat 10 times a day.
I mean, I remember times of consuming 400 grams of protein and 500 grams of protein.
I remember times of consuming 400 or 500 grams of carbs and doing all kinds. I'm sure you did a bunch of different stuff. I did the inch on the arms in one day program. I've done
German volume training. I've done every fucking thing that you can kind of think of almost. I've
tried a lot of different stuff and it's all been, it's all been fun. And then I just got to a
certain point where, you know know i wanted to kind of
make a push to do something slightly different to be able to take things to another level and
i personally felt for myself that i needed to do that for somebody else it might not look the same
way they just might make a decision to compete and just fucking work harder and maybe they don't
decide to do peds so just figure out like i don, like, I don't think there's any reason, like, everyone gets so worked up over this topic all the time.
But you got to just pick what you feel is going to be good for you.
And you need to clarify, I'm not like, I'm not anti-TRT or HRT.
What I'm actually, I'm anti-TRT and HRT for young guys that don't actually need it.
They don't need it.
I agree.
Especially young guys who haven't gotten their habits in check.
Like, let's say that they're, they're drinking a bunch.
They're barely getting sleep.
They're half-assing their workouts.
Like, no, I'm actually anti when it comes to those guys.
You're going to look half-assed though.
Yeah.
You're going to look half-assed.
You're going to take some shit.
You're still not going to look that good.
You're still not going to be that strong.
So just fucking chill. Like get some good habits together first. Yeah. But for, for, I mean,
even if you're in your third, like late thirties or forties or whatever, if you, if you want to
go that route, at least have your habits in check, go for it like that. That's fine. Um, and again,
even if you're in your twenties, you're an adult, you make whatever decision you want to make.
But those are the guys that I'm really just like,
just stay away for a while.
Because you just see that way too much
with 18 and 19-year-old dudes.
And of course, again, they can make their own decisions,
but you see that, you're like,
what if you just lived it for five more years, bro?
Like, what if you just really came in
and liked this lifestyle?
You might find that you never need it.
Maybe.
That's kind of cool.
But the big thing that I just don't think young guys don't think about is what does
happen when you want to come off?
You know, like what actually does happen?
Because I don't think they think about that shit.
You know?
It's never talked about what happens when you come off steroids, but it sucks.
I mean, you can get, I mean, erectile dysfunction is really fun.
Like that's a really awesome one. A lot of times acne happens because of, of the hormone change,
like because your hormones are dropping. Sometimes it doesn't happen for everybody
when they first go on stuff. Your mood could change a lot. Your kind of brain chemistry,
and especially for younger guys. I think most men um who are in their like late 20s and 30s
and 40s and stuff think back to when they were like 16 or 18 and they're like yeah i was like
i'm pretty aggressive sometimes you know when i was younger and imagine if you're younger and you
go on a cycle and you you know get big and strong and then and you're excited about some of this new
growth and you are pretty happy with a lot of this progress that you're getting,
and then you cut that shit out because your parents found it in your bedroom or whatever,
and you got to come off stuff.
I mean, it's a very dangerous position to be in
because not only could you find yourself being angry,
you could also find yourself being very depressed.
So people
need to be, what kind of person are you? You know, are you the kind of person that has depression
and things like that? Well, testosterone can certainly actually help you on a more positive
level when it comes to something like depression. However, it's still not, I mean, I've said it in
Bigger, Stronger, Faster. The movie's fucking really old at this point. I said, steroids aren't for kids. And I, I, I would like to see
young people and even someone who's just young to lifting, even if you're 35, but you just started
lifting, pour some time into it. And, and I don't know, like what, like just, why not find out what's going to happen
if you work hard for 30 days?
Re-evaluate at the end of 30 days.
Like I stuck to all my habits,
all the things that I wanted to do in the gym.
I did all of them.
I stayed true to my nutrition for 30 days.
You'd be shocked, four weeks.
Four weeks, you can make crazy progress.
Dana White made some of that progress in 12 weeks.
He lost 35 pounds.
I mean, he might have set himself up to kind of stay this way.
He'll have to still work for it.
And he could have used PEDs for this as well.
But you're going to be surprised and shocked if you can start to develop habits
and start to stick to them for a while.
If you can start to accumulate them for 30 days, 60 days, 90 days,
I mean, I could sit here, I guess, all day
and tell you how fucking dedicated I was
and how cool I was when I was young
before I ever took anything
and probably you won't understand or believe me,
but I worked really hard before I ever took them.
I had a lot of good habits before I ever took them.
I was obsessed and loved training,
probably even more so than I do now.
I fucking loved it.
It meant everything to me to go to the gym every day.
I mean, I remember leaving school and just being so excited about like going and going
to the gym.
And like, I knew I was going to go home, have like a protein shake, didn't have the pre
workouts back then.
And, you know, turn on the fucking Rocky music basically and give me the rocky montage i'm
going to the gym like with my brother or whatever i mean we were obsessed with it we would follow a
fucking snowplow to the gym like my mom was like oh you guys aren't allowed to go to the gym you
don't have a you know got a snow day is we didn't have school on a day where it snowed too much
because the streets are too bad and the school bus can't pick you up we're like mom as soon as that snow as soon as that snow plow comes by we're following
that fucking thing right right to the gym and that's exactly what we would do i mean we were
obsessed with it and always have been and probably always will be and there's not a ped that's
probably going to really turn you uh into a person that's going to make really strong decisions towards the things that you love.
And so if you're not, if you don't have the habits baked in,
then I just think it's not for you at the moment.
Yeah.

My tip today is a quote.
Smelly's tip is,
your mind is a tool to exploration,
not to drawing conclusions.
So keep an open mind and keep exploring,
keep messing around with shit
and don't have it just be a conclusion.
I think it'd probably be useful for a lot of people to,
rather than make a statement and put a period at the end,
just turn that period into a question mark
so that you can keep asking
questions and keep finding good answers.
Strength is never weakness.
Weakness is never strength.
Catch you guys later.
Bye.
Bitch.
