Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Mark Bell's Power Project podcast.
This episode of the podcast is brought to you by Element Electrolytes.
You know, the cool thing is that Mark told me about Element last year.
He told me how he was using it before workouts, and he does a lot of workouts faster too,
so he suggested it to me.
And in the past, because I do a lot of lifting, a lot of performance stuff outside the gym,
I thought towards the end of a workout when I'd cramp, it's kind of normal.
Maybe I wasn't adequately hydrated, I didn't have adequate nutrition, so I'd just drink workout when I'd cramp, it's kind of normal. Maybe I didn't wasn't adequately hydrated.
I didn't have adequate nutrition.
So I just drink more water, eat more food, hope everything was OK.
And cramping was normal.
After I started grabbing Element, I started using the electrolytes and they have thousand milligrams of sodium, 200 potassium, 60 magnesium, all the electrolytes you need.
I'd use them pre-workout, fasted.
And I s*** you not.
I don't cramp up anymore it's crazy and it's like the workouts
all go really well even though I don't have food in my system it's really really crazy the cool
thing about element is that they have a lot of great flavors my personal favorite is raspberry
and you can just put a packet in water drink it do your workout it's easy it's simple it's
it's just, it works.
Okay. So make sure that you're not just drinking a lot of water to get yourself hydrated. You're
getting enough electrolytes in your system before you train. It will make a massive difference to
your performance. Yes. You guys got to take your workouts to the next level by picking up some
element electrolytes right now, head over to drinklmnt.com slash powerproject.
Make sure you guys check out the bundles
because when you buy three,
you essentially get one free.
Now, if I want like a little bit of,
like a boost, you know.
I've never heard of that.
Nicotine also helps with a lot of stuff like,
I don't know if it necessarily helps you burn fat.
I know it's an appetite suppressant.
You know, when people smoke,
they lose weight and stuff like that.
Help with hunger.
Oh, yeah.
We can talk about all this on the podcast.
We're on there.
We're live.
We're on now.
We're moving.
See, we're on now.
So, yeah, if you take it with a little bit of kratom, a little bit of nicotine, and it
doesn't have tobacco in it, so it doesn't cause cancer.
The only thing I found with some of the nicotine pouches like Zyn, for example, Z-Y-N, is that
they might give you a little bit of heartburn.
So, you got to mess around with...
Well, they used to have flavored ones. And here in Sacramento,
they've banned all the different flavors.
Heartburn feels terrible.
Yeah.
So it's,
so it's actually nice that they banned the flavors.
Cause I think the flavors are what was giving me heartburn.
And I switched to like the plain,
they're like flavorless.
And when I switched to the flavorless ones,
they don't seem to have that effect as much.
Yeah.
I heard like cognitively too.
Like it can like help you.
Like if you're a writer or something.
Yeah, exactly.
That's what I'm more,
I'm talking about like in jujitsu,
you want your brain to be sharp
and your brain to be quick,
I'm assuming.
And I think things like Kratom,
like the mind bullet potion
that I got right here
that I'm about to take.
Take a shot.
Yeah, let's take a shot.
Oh, damn.
By the way, happy birthday.
I got you this gift.
Oh, here he took it.
It's a little gift.
He didn't have one.
Oh, no, he didn't have one.
Your birthday is December 10th coming up.
And I wanted to,
uh,
get you something based on your social media post.
All right.
And you had posted something about,
um,
about clothing.
And so I found some clothing that was appropriate for you and your fans.
Huh?
This would be interesting.
Yeah.
And the best part is I don't even know what I posted.
That's cool.
All right.
It has a Lululemon packaging on it.
It's actually from Lululemon.
And you were asking people about your shorts and the length of your shorts.
Were they too short or too...
He was asking if they were short enough.
And I didn't think that they were. see i see where this is going i found them a little something something
that i thought and it was on sale too which is kind of amazing there's lots of paper in here
and then the girl that i bought them from was like are you gonna wear these no no no me those
girls are perverts gotta be careful these are three. These are three inches. Oh, yeah. I didn't even know they were made.
Oh, yeah.
I'm hoping that they fit.
They look like some old school, like, school issued, which is disgusting in and of itself.
But I figured that you're dieting now for, like, a little show.
And I figured you can wear them, like, in, you know, in the sauna.
Andy will like those.
These will be fantastic.
Those are three inches.
And see-through.
Yep. Your ass is going to eat those up. so the lowest that they made before was four inches now they're
down to three oh thanks thank you appreciate it see three inches is usually probably pretty normal
for people that wear lulu because the legs aren't so wide right but three inches on you it's like
your dick's gonna be hanging out and
then you're it's like it's three inches it's not gonna be ridiculous it's not gonna be okay we'd
all be in trouble don't wear that here actually wear that here he's gonna wear it here that's
what's ridiculous about it is why don't you just go change yeah go change right now why does he
have to go anywhere just change right here we have covering the weird thing is when bought them, the girl was asking me if I was going to wear them.
I said, no, my brother's going to wear them.
But the weird thing is, I'll probably look pretty good on them.
I'll go put them on in a minute.
Frank.
I mean, why not?
I just took some Mind Bullets.
We'll get ready.
Oh, yeah.
We're about to take off to the moon.
Mind Bullet potion, by the way.
Speaking of Mind Bullet, give us a little background,
because you're the reason why we got mind bullet.
So give us a little background on how this adventure into Kratom creeped up
and how it happened.
So as with everything, I have a bunch of weird friends,
and I got a phone call from a guy named Horseshoe, a.k.a. Luther Raines.
And he's like, hey, bro, you ever try Kratom?
Horseshoe wrestled for WWE. He's about
6'4", 280 pounds. Look, bro.
This stuff will be the best shit you've ever
seen in your life. And so Horseshoe
used to actually tell me that
he took so many opioids. He said,
I would take so many pills, I would get
full.
That's how many pills he would take. He'd take about 100
pills a day. So he's a heavy, heavy opioid addict. So you have a heavy, heavy opioid addict coming to you with know that's how many pills he would take he'd take about 100 pills a day so he's a heavy
heavy opioid addict so you have a heavy heavy opioid addict coming to you with something that's
all natural saying hey bro this shit works and i'm like come on man like there's no way you must
be reformed and you know you must be not thinking straight and so um he said no i want to introduce
you this guy named kelly you want to meet this He wanted me to meet this guy, Kelly Dunn, who owned a company called Urban Ice Organics. And so Kelly came to Sacramento. And
whenever somebody comes to see you, this is when I was living up here the first time, right after
I went to rehab. So I got out of rehab. And the issue that I was having was the reason I was in
rehab is because I was drinking alcohol excessively and taking benzodiazepines excessively to deal with the alcoholism. And I was just addicted to everything.
And I needed to go to rehab to sort of get out of it. And Mark really helped me
a lot with that process. And then coming out of it, I started like lifting at the gym
and I started getting inspired again and started feeling like myself again. But I was in so
much pain that I just couldn't lift. So while rehab fixed the problem
of addiction for me, it didn't fix the pain issue. And ever since I've been working on fixing the pain issue,
that's what I'll talk about a lot today. But the thing was that my buddy wanted me to try this
stuff because he thought it could help me get out of pain. And then the guy that owned the company,
he sort of had ulterior motives, but there were good ulterior motives. He saw Prescription Thugs and instead it just hit him in the heart.
And he said, I was an addict also, and I just want to help the world be free of addiction
and of these pills.
And I think there's a way to do it with this stuff called Kratom.
Back around a second.
What's Prescription Thugs?
Prescription Thugs is a movie that I made about opioid addiction and mainly about opioid
addiction, but mainly about how pharmaceuticals have a clutch on us here in the U.S.
You know, most of our elections are sort of run by big pharma.
If you watch CNN or Fox News, it's like every other commercial.
They're now taking old songs and they're making them into little jingles, you know, so they're
going like trilogy one, two, three, you know, and then it goes
oh, oh, oh, oh, Zampic. When the news is actually on, they're telling you how
dangerous COVID-19 is. Yeah, exactly. And meanwhile, all these prescription drugs are
just killing people left and right. And I just thought it was really ironic. You know, I
saw a 60 Minutes episode with Eminem and at the end they
say for more on the Eminem, it was all about his addiction.
For more about the Eminem story, check out CBS.com, sponsored by Pfizer.
And you're just like, so, you know, the drug companies that are making these drugs are sponsoring the very shows that are talking shit about them and telling you how dangerous they are.
It's all really one kind of vicious loop and vicious cycle.
And I'm not against pharmaceuticals at all.
I think we need them.
And I think we need, you know, right now, it's interesting because we're looking at pharmaceutical companies like Save Us.
And that's what I think is a joke.
It's like most people don't understand how deep this web is.
So if you want to see Prescription Thugs, it's actually free on YouTube as is Bigger, Stronger, Faster right now.
So you can check that out and sort of get educated on what the pharmaceutical industry really does and really is up to but i think uh you and i like growing up we didn't realize that
there was like a lot of other drugs to uh choose from like we had uh alcoholism was in our family
um we've had an uncle die from a drug overdose a brother died from a drug overdose but most of
these drugs are they were fairly common things. They
were heroin, cocaine, alcohol being a huge one. But we didn't really see, like, I don't remember
hearing about anyone really doing mushrooms. I'm sure that Aunt Susan probably did some stuff like
that and LSD and things like that. But we didn't really hear the family ever talk about that. We
didn't know that those things were options.
When you started to get into Kratom, were you like, oh, my God, there's like a whole
another maybe universe of stuff that could be alternative to opioids and other things
that people might be addicted to?
Yeah.
And I also got into this mode for a while.
I think we swing back and forth between the truth and reality.
And I got into this mode where it's like everything had to be plant-based like plant medicines work and everything should be natural and then i tried lsd and that changed all of that
to where i'm like well maybe what's lsd why is that not natural it's just synthesized from chemicals
you know and i don't know exactly how it's made but um i tried this stuff called orange sunshine
and we'll talk about that a little bit later but that would that made me realize talk about it now
orange sunshine i got more to talk about i got more to talk about kratom so i still didn't finish
that so anyway going back to the kratom thing is the guy wanted me to make a documentary about
kratom and i laughed because i'm like well i'm actually like a serious filmmaker i'm not going
to make some movie about some stuff that you buy in a smoke shop and stuff that he sells
and stuff that he sells and i just was like that's really biased and blah blah blah and it's weird
and i don't really want to do that and he's like well you know i can fund the whole thing and this
and i was worried about that because i didn't want a guy funding it that that sold it and telling me
what to do and whatever but anyway i took a couple bottles of it. The guy, Kelly, he left and he went home.
And then all of a sudden, about three months later,
I call him up and I'm like, dude,
I don't know what you gave me, but I feel amazing.
I'm training with my brother.
I feel great.
I'm losing weight.
Stuff is suppressing my appetite.
It makes me feel great.
It puts me in a good mood.
It takes the pain away.
I don't know what you gave me,
but we need to make a documentary about this.
So it was kind of like I flipped it on him.
And I just didn't worry about the whole, you know, it's funny now that I even thought of
that because now everything is funded with special interests.
But back then it was a big deal to fund a documentary with some sort of biased money.
But what I did is I signed a contract with him that, you know, anybody can see.
And it just says that he has no creative control over the film whatsoever.
I was going to make whatever film I wanted to make.
And if I had things in there that were negative about Kratom, that they would be in the film
as well.
And there is some stuff in there that's, you know, I wouldn't say negative, but we do talk
about, you know, some things that may be issues with it.
And I still do to this day when I talk about it and post about it.
What we find is kratom has two alkaloids in it.
It has an alkaloid called mitragynine.
And that's kind of hard to spell and hard to say.
It took me forever.
So there's mitragynine
and then there's 7-hydroxymetragynine.
7-hydroxymetragynine is in a very, very tiny amount,
just a couple granules of it maybe is in a capsule, right?
So you take this stuff,
it's a ground up tea leaf it maybe is in a capsule, right? So you take this stuff.
It's a ground-up tea leaf, and it's in a capsule.
And it comes from Southeast Asia.
And basically, it's got a couple little granules in it of this stuff that's really highly addictive.
And that is like it comes from the drying process when you dry the plant.
It doesn't come from when the plant is growing.
So there is a way to actually separate out that alkaloid. But once you, again,
the FDA, once you separate out an alkaloid, now you're working with an adulterated plant and now
it's a drug, right? And so it changes everything and you can't sell it as just metragyny. However,
I'm working around that and finding ways that we can isolate that, not isolate that, but where we
can extract the entire plant without actually drying it, which is actually a whole other thing that I'm working on right now.
And I have a patented technology, not that I have, but somebody I'm working with has
a patented technology that can take raw kratom leaf, turn it into an extract, and be the
world's first non-addictive opioid, which would just be insane if we could do that.
But these things are pipe dreams because they take time, money, and then once somebody finds
out about it, they're going to try to crush it.
So it's just the drying process.
It comes out of the drying process, yeah.
But here's the thing.
It's like I compare it to almonds, right?
If you're on a low-carb diet and you have a handful of almonds, you're fine.
But if you're on a low-carb diet and you have six handfuls of almonds, now you're going from seven carbs to like 57 carbs.
You're upping the carbs way up beyond what 57 carbs or something you know you're up in the
carbs way up beyond what the keto diet would allow but just one handful would have been okay
what people do with kratom is they take you know 10 grams a day or 20 grand mostly even more like
20 grams of it a day and they only need a maximum of like four or five grams a day and so they're
taking way too much therefore the small addictive amount becomes
a big addictive amount, and then they become dependent on it. And we actually personally
at MindBullet have never had one single complaint that I'm aware of because I do a lot of this stuff
and a lot of the social media of anybody being dependent on it or addicted to MindBullet because
we advertise it responsibly, we sell it responsibly, and we talk about it responsibly.
And I say, hey, don't take a whole shitload of it.
It says to take two capsules.
And if you want to take more, you can.
But don't crush the whole bottle in a week.
Did you see what Mark and I did the other day?
No.
Did you take a bunch of it?
We took two potions.
Two potions each.
But we're veterans.
Don't try that at home yeah i was
gonna try that they don't yeah um yeah interesting and how did it feel
i remember the first time you took the potion was at the olympia i was there with urban ice
and you took that potion and you were like the happiest person i've ever seen i know
it's great that was a really fun day i talked to so many people at our booth
know it's great that was a really fun day i talked to so many people at our booth i sold a record hip circles dude i sold so many hip circles i remember i sold a hip circle pack
and like the just a regular traditional hip circle because they just had to have it
and it's like yes we do and i'm like yes you do but i already have four or five of them you're
like listen you don't have seven or eight and then after you sell it did you give everybody
that guy was so nice after you sell it you give him a hug dude i was like you don't
know why like no idea why high-fiving everybody and then i look over at inseam and i can see he's
floating just as high as i was that shit was fun that's the thing it's like we like i think andrew
is the one who mentioned it but it's like creating makes you feel like you want to give somebody a
hug or like it makes you feel like you're getting a warm hug and you want to give hugs.
Well, have you ever done mushrooms?
No.
Okay, we'll get to that.
Yes.
That's like a big, big hug.
Do you have some with you?
Oh, maybe.
No, I don't have any with me.
Shorts and mushrooms?
It's a whole show.
Hey.
Mushroom heads falling out of shorts?
What's interesting is that...
Hey, now.
Super Mario. That was i know there you go um kratom led me into all these other things that i've found recently what happened was um you know i mark
and kind of tell you like i was in la i got to a point where um i was taking kratom every day
but i was just kind of getting depressed like I was trying to get all these projects off the ground.
We were trying to make a keto movie.
Let me just pause you for a second.
I think sometimes what happens to people
when they find something that they really enjoy,
and it almost doesn't matter what it is,
they sometimes will do it so much
that they don't know what being idle
is supposed to feel like.
Yeah.
Being idle is normal. However, I think that being idle is supposed to feel like. Yeah. Like being idle is normal.
However, I think that being idle, I think a lot of times people will feel alone.
They'll feel loneliness.
They'll feel sadness.
They'll feel depressed.
They'll feel misunderstood.
They'll feel inadequate.
They'll feel isolated.
Yeah.
And those are all normal feelings that everybody feels.
And I think a lot of times when people get hooked on Kratom or hooked on
drugs,
I personally never been hooked on a drug like that.
But from what I've seen,
it appears that when people come to me and they tell me what they feel or how
they feel,
or even you shared with me how you felt,
I'm like,
I feel the same way pretty much every day too.
Like I,
it's just different, you know, it's different. It's different for the same way pretty much every day too. Like it's just
different, you know, it's different. It's different for me. Like we all feel that. And maybe it's not
for me, maybe it's not every day, but you know, maybe you have bouts of it and it comes and it
goes. And for people, it's just at different degrees. But if you're always not even always,
but if you're getting high often, you're getting high and then you're going low, you're getting
high, you're going low. You don't know what normal feels like i think something else for you
that you've described to me before about painkillers is you would say like everything
hurts so bad but then i was like well how do you know if everything hurts so bad if you're using
painkillers all the time i think you're desensitized you know just poking you just putting your my
finger on you'd be like you know that fucking hurts yeah it's like how is that possible but it's because i think i think the drugs lead into some of that
not to discredit the pain that you were in no i think if you talk to dr drew who i've talked to
several times and you have as well he'll tell you the same thing it's called hyper i think it's
called like hyper analgesia or something where you oh yeah you become like resistant like you
you basically hurt more because you're taking the painkillers.
So if you take opioids, because I used to say the only problem with opioids is I'm going to run out or I'm going to die from taking too many.
And that was the only problem I had with it.
Right.
But the real problem is that you create oversensitive, sensitive, like pain receptors and then everything hurts even worse.
And so then when you get off the opioids, you have nothing to really fix that.
And your opioids, your opioid receptors will never, ever reset back to normal. They just won't.
And what I actually found through this process and so, you know, I moved I moved back up to
up here because I was depressed. I was living in L.A. and this is way before the pandemic.
And I just moved up here to be around Mark. And I was trying to figure out what to do next. And I
was trying to make a movie on keto. And that wasn't going really well because
we had a bunch of momentum. And then we filmed a bunch of stuff. And then things would kind of
stop and go just because the nature of making films. And, you know, I didn't want to I kept
stopping making a keto movie because I didn't want to be wrong. I realized, like, hey, I can't I
don't know enough about this yet. And it's going to take a couple of years to actually really know actually really know about this and mark always says like you're not an expert until you've done it you know
and i had not even gotten to a point where i was like ripped yet you know and then i tried carnivore
and all of a sudden i got really in great shape that helped with my pain a lot but even that
got to a point where i exhausted that like i swung too hard on in that direction on carnivore and
thought carnivore was for everybody and everybody should do it. And then I came back to reality and said, like, you know what, I'm actually still in a lot of pain. And I was telling people, yeah, the inflammation actually came from me just being fat and eating really excessive calories all the time.
And that was more than being carnivore could ever do.
And I think a lot of people that are experienced, like trying a carnivore diet, I would challenge them to just try tracking their calories and being really honest.
Yeah, any diet.
And then even talking to you and Seema, when you told me, like, you know, I think it's really good to track because you learn a lot about yourself and i just was going whatever like i
mean not like i wouldn't listen to you you're shredded and awesome but i i just didn't want
to do it like i was lazy and then after just enough of watching videos on youtube and keep
coming back to you you were shredded all the time i'm like dude this guy like tracks shit like he
knows and then you said well i don't do it anymore. Cause I know what I eat now. I know what I can eat. And I just said,
you know what? I just need to learn that. And so I went and did that and, um, learned just a real
whole lot about myself and a lot about what I could eat and what I shouldn't eat. And holy
shit, I'm eating like 300 grams of fat a day. What happens if I drop that to 90? Well, you lose a lot
of weight and you get in good shape. And that's still a very sufficient amount of fat you know for me but what that all led me into
was doing more and more research and talking to a bunch of people and i talked to dr tony huge of
all people and he said you know what if something like dings in your brain he said have you ever heard of ibogaine
for your pain okay and it went ding and i go you know i just started recalling i go well i talked
to the top leading expert on nor ibogaine who's which is a synthetic version of ibogaine i talked
to her at university of miami when we were doing the kratom movie because she was telling me that
ibogaine and kratom could possibly be you you know, this double whammy for opioid addiction.
And I didn't really know anything about Ibogaine.
And then I heard another podcast where a girl was talking about, I think it was our boy
Robert Sykes, Keto Savage, who I love.
So listen to his podcast.
He was talking to some girl and she was talking about Ibogaine, but she was talking about
it for depression.
And she said, it's just like somebody turned the lights back on, you know, and I was just alive again. And I kept going like,
that's what I need. I would walk around just like in my head thinking I need help, like mental help.
I'm going mentally insane. Like I'm in so much pain. I hurt. I can't figure out what to do with
my life. And I'm 47 years old at the time. And I'm like, I'm a loser. I'm worthless. Like my brother is so successful. Look at me. I got nothing, you know. And I was like, I need I need something. But, you know, as Mark says, everything actually comes from, you know, within you, within from inside you. I didn't really need something. I just needed to be pointed in that right direction.
to be pointed in that right direction.
And when Tony Hughes said to try Ibogaine,
I think part of it was having so much hope in the actual process itself.
I think that really helps the process.
But I'll tell you, like, I had a,
so I met this guy and he was out in Denver
and he said, hey man, I can treat you.
I can come out there.
Well, right when he was about to come out here, the pandemic hit. So fast forward to
March, right? It's March 16th and he's like, I can't come
out there, but I'm going to send this other guy out. He sends this guy, Jim from Boston
who's a total cartoon character. And this guy, he like
first of all, he gets in the car. He's like, hey, how you doing? I'm Jim. I'm from Boston.
And he's hilarious. And he's older. He's like, hey, how you doing? I'm Jim. I'm from Boston. And he's hilarious.
And he's older.
He's like 58 years old.
And he's like, I go, how?
I'm sorry, I'm talking.
I'm like, how many times have you treated people with Ibogaine?
He's like, ah, just a couple.
I'm like, oh, shit.
And I'm like, I could die today.
And so Ibogaine is probably the strongest.
I would call it the master psychedelic.
They call it the alien molecule.
Scientists have never seen anything like this. What it does is it is a tree bark from Gabon, Africa, that was actually found by the pygmies
and the pygmies use it. I can imagine like pygmies being like fucked up on ibogaine,
you know, dancing around the forest. But the pygmies use it actually as a religious ritual
and it's called a reset. And it literally this is going to get people really excited,
literally resets all the neurotransmitters in your body.
So it resets your opioid receptors.
It resets your testosterone receptors.
It resets all the receptors in your body, like back to a default state.
And the mechanism of it is sort of unknown.
But they look at cells afterwards, and the cells are like completely repaired and fixed.
And all this crazy shit happens that nobody really knows about yet,
but there's a lot of research being done on it.
But it also, besides resetting everything,
it can interrupt every single addiction known to man.
So whether it's gambling or alcohol or pornography
or whatever it may be, any sort of drug,
it can sort of just basically stop that addiction dead in its track.
I had a 30-year chewing tobacco habit.
I would chew usually like just once a day, and I hated it because it's gross.
Nobody likes it.
There's nobody that would rather have you do it than not do it, you know.
I always had a cup to spit in.
I always had a gross spit cup everywhere.
Sometimes drink it by accident.
Yeah, I've done that when I
was drunk. And I just
didn't want to do it anymore. But also, I was
really, really depressed.
I was in so much pain. Like,
I hurt my knee deadlifting on
my sobriety birthday.
Like, a couple months before,
I had pulled a, you know,
700-pound deadlift with the wagon
wheels. So I cheated a little bit.
Wagon wheels and trap bars and straps.
But I was able to pull.
But it's not an Encima 700, but it's 700.
But I pulled that and I also pulled, you know, pulled my knee right out of the socket.
I mean, I just killed my knee.
I basically tore my ACL partially.
I never got it fixed because I couldn't,
I didn't have insurance or anything.
I was just like,
screw it.
I'm just going to lay off of it for a while.
I actually couldn't walk and was on crutches for about two weeks,
just skipping around on crutches with it.
But I just was like letting it heal up,
but it never really healed up and it would always hurt.
And it would kind of like go away and come back,
go away and come back.
But when I did eyeball gain, what was so crazy is I woke up the next day and I was going, I don't think my knee hurts
anymore. I was like completely blown away. And for about, I would say about seven months straight,
I had zero, absolutely zero pain in my knee. Lately, we've been pushing it really hard and
training really hard and pain will come back in my knee, i feel like it's overuse and i don't feel
like it's i tell mark i gotta be careful with what i say because ibogaine like i would have
this chronic pain in my body where i'd be laying on the couch and i would honestly i just don't
mean to sound like a pussy but i would want to cry because i'd be like i can't even get up off
the couch what is wrong with me?
I work out every day.
I eat just meat.
I'm doing all these things, but I can't seem to line things up.
Things aren't working out for me for whatever reason.
And then he'd say, well, try this.
And I'd try that.
And like, that would work a little bit, but not all the way and try this.
And I try, you know, and also I would, to be honest, rigorously honest with myself,
I would try stuff, but I didn't have enough heart to try it all the way.
So I'd try something for like a week or two, and then I'd bomb out.
Oh, we talked on previous shows about you even just trying to back away from stuff, and that's always been a problem.
Yeah, it's always been a problem.
What Ibogaine does, though, is it allows you to detach from everything.
So I did the ibogaine what i did is i
had so this is actually really funny on march 16th the day before everything got shut down this guy
jim he comes out from boston he literally gives me a couple pills i made a movie about it called
ibogaine's that's on youtube you can go watch it and i have a website called ibogaine's.com where
if people want to inquire about getting treated, they can do that as well.
But Jim basically gave me a couple pills.
I got violently ill for about four or five hours to where I felt kind of the worst I've ever felt in my entire life.
Like this isn't really pleasant.
You know, he told me it was like a lot shorter than I thought.
So maybe it was, but I was definitely tripping. Like you have a, it's a hallucinogenic drug.
So you definitely hallucinate.
I was seeing all sorts of stuff.
Jim is like an old school bodybuilder.
He used to train Paul DeMeo and Mike Matarazzo, old school bodybuilders and work with them a lot.
And as he's talking, he's like, ah, Mike Matarazzo, blah, blah, blah.
And he's going like this.
I'm like,
dude,
you look like Drax from guardians of the galaxy.
He was like blue and purple.
And like,
he looked like Batista.
I don't know why,
but like,
that's how I was seeing him.
Yeah.
And then he would talk and he's just after a while,
I just started signing like Charlie Brown's teacher.
I was asking like,
Hey,
do you see all that shit on the TV?
What is it?
What's going on?
He's like,
nothing's on the TV.
The TV is completely off.
I was hearing loud buzzing noises.
I just had this crazy trip.
And then he gave me another pill.
And, you know, this is all a process.
It took like hours and hours.
You said you were ill.
You were like throwing up and like shitting and stuff.
Yeah, I was throwing up really bad for,
I thought it was hours,
but he told me it was like 15 minutes to an hour. Like,
he's like, it was no more than hours, probably like 15, 20 minutes where you're really sick.
And that's what I thought it was like a really long time. I don't know. He's like, well,
that's how it feels sometimes. Um, but anyway, I was high for three days. I was high for three
days straight. I talked to him on the phone a couple of times. It was weird. Once you talked
to him while he was on Ibogaine. Yeah. actually got high it was like game over what happened was i saw like a bright white light um they say that ibogaine
scrubs your receptors clean basically you know it scrubs all the opioid receptors clean everything
it actually felt like there was a scrubbing bubbles you know on the commercials felt like
the scrubbing bubbles were in my head i felt like axl Rose in the welcome to the jungle video where he's in the
electric chair and he's got that thing on his head and he's been shaken back
and forth and stuff. I felt like that.
And I felt like I would shake and shake and shake.
And then I have an explosion like, right.
And the explosion was like, there goes anxiety.
There goes depression.
There goes pain.
And I had all this trauma from mad dog's death that I never dealt with because I was high when he died. And I'm like, you know what? I got to try to talk to Mad Dog. They say you try to try to talk to Mad Dog. And so I talked to Mad Dog and he was like, hey, man, everything's cool. It was just that simple. There was no big religious weird thing. I mean, I know I didn't actually talk to mad dog, but I thought I talked to mad dog and he just said,
you know what,
man,
everything's cool.
This is where I belong.
I didn't belong down there with you guys.
It was too much for me.
I'm actually really happy where I am.
I'm where I'm supposed to be.
You know,
some people just aren't meant to be cut.
And I think this is maybe stuff that Mark told me and it was sinking in
subconsciously.
But when I came out of it,
I was just okay about everything.
Like I couldn't even believe it. I was like, what just happened? You know, it's like, it's one of those things
where it's like a revelation and then you want to go tell the world. But I do realize like six
months after doing it, or actually a year after, almost a year after doing it, I feel like maybe
it's not such a good thing to go tell everybody to do it. But when people are at the end of their
rope, I think this is the option. But also i've been in rehab with a lot of people who fought really
really hard to get clean and they just couldn't see the light but maybe somebody would start out
with something like marijuana or maybe they would start with kratom or maybe they start with
mushrooms not that they do the same thing but maybe i do think that psilocybin mushrooms or
or even just going to someone for help, just consulting.
Exactly.
I think there's baby steps in there.
But I do think that psilocybin mushrooms can do a lot of the same thing for a lot cheaper.
And and they're going to be legal pretty soon.
I think I think we're moving more in that direction.
So I've experimented with psilocybin since then and some other things.
But let me finish the eyeball gain thing really quick.
When I after I did the eyeball gain and i realized like i could walk i also realized my shoulder that
i couldn't couldn't move past like here was like now well now it's kind of up here it's not better
it's not 100 better but i think that it just did so much to fix everything that it was unbelievable
i was always flat i mean i'm flat-footed but I would walk, I'd always be kind of up on my toes.
What it did is it relaxed everything to the point like, you'd ask Mark, I can squat deeper
now.
Like I feel, I just feel better.
You're squatting great today.
I just feel so much better.
And so fast forward, like, you know, a couple months and after the pandemic, you know, I
got kind of depressed from the pandemic.
I'm single.
I'm home by myself. This sucks. I'm single. I'm home by myself.
This sucks.
I don't want to be here by myself.
I'd go out to the grocery store just for fun.
That was my fun.
Didn't talk to anybody all day.
I kind of isolated myself from everybody.
Also, people would call me.
I just wouldn't answer.
What are we going to do?
It's a pandemic.
You can't go see anybody.
You can't hang out.
Who cares?
You can't even come to super training.
It was closed, you know?
And so during that time, I got really depressed again and shut in.
And I just scheduled another eyeball game journey just to see, well, you know what? I'll try it again. I have access to it. You know, the guy who's doing it has been helping me out in sort
of in exchange for getting him clients. Cause I kind of just know everybody through everything
that I do. So he's like, well, you can get me a bunch of clients and in exchange, I'll treat you.
So I was like, well, that's cool because it's a couple thousand dollars to get treated. Usually
it's like up close to ten thousand dollars to get treated. Wow. And it's got you have to do it in
certain places where it's actually legal. You can't do it everywhere. So you have to do it
either in like Denver, in Santa Clara, in certain place, Oregon.
Now it's been decriminalized.
You have to do it somewhere where it's decriminalized and people can get it.
And also, like, you got to kind of trust somebody.
You know, I don't think it's something that you buy off the Internet.
I mean, my guy buys it off the Internet, but he knows the source and he's worked with the source a lot before and things like that.
So it's just really interesting.
I did. So the
second time I scheduled it was for October 25th in Denver. I'm like, I'm going to fly to Denver.
I'm going to do this. Well, on October 24th, on a Saturday morning, um, I was watching Mark's kids
and since it happened early in the morning, my phone was off and Mark walks in and he says,
Hey, get up. Mom's dead. And I'm like, what? He's like, yeah, mom died. And he was just kind of very, you know, like
he's very smelly, like very, uh, stoic, but that's how he always is. And I just started crying. I'm
like, what, like what happened? And he's like, I don't, I don't really know. We just get,
get your clothes on. We got to go over to dad's and, and like check it out and everything. And
I was just like wrecked you know what i mean
like the whole world just came crashing down in a in a minute and before that i was having so much
you know i was sleeping i was having a good dream you know and then i wake up to that and it was
just horrible and so we go over and we see my dad and i was like you know i'm supposed to go to uh
denver tomorrow and do this eyeball game trip but i can't go man like i i was telling and then mark
and andy were both like, no,
you should just go do what you were supposed to do.
Like if you, if you have that set up,
cause I was also going to help some other people get treated,
but I was going to take a, you know, take a smaller dose myself.
What's called a booster dose.
So I went to Denver, did a booster dose.
And I don't think like I cried during the whole thing,
the ceremony and thought about my mom a lot, but I came out of it going,
you know what?
Your mother's a legend.
Like nobody's done what she's done.
All she wanted to do is be a good mom.
She ended up being in a movie that's affected millions and millions of people's lives.
That's helped millions and millions of people help people talk to their mom about drugs,
helps people to talk to their mom about steroids.
It's helped people relate to their family better. It's helped people feel good about
themselves. And like everything, I just looked at it as I spit, as I talk, so I'm excited, right?
But I just took that death and turned it into joy, you know? And they say with enough love,
all pain becomes medicine, right? And so I love that quote because it's like, you know, just my
mom would have dumped love on the pain, you know, and if you dump enough love on the pain, that becomes your medicine.
And so I just became so almost like happy that she was out of pain, that she wasn't suffering anymore.
She didn't have to deal with with, you know, she wasn't happy.
And but she wanted she put on a happy face every day. But inside, she I know she wasn't happy because um but she wanted she put on a happy face every day but inside she
i know she wasn't happy because she was in so much pain and i knew exactly where she was coming from
and it just sort of shifted my perspective on everything and i've just been so strong throughout
the whole thing and i i really think it's because of using psychedelics that i didn't like break
i told mark i said you know it's kind of amazing when something bad I didn't like break. I told Mark, I said, you know, it's kind of amazing.
When something bad would happen before, like when Mad Dog died,
I just started drinking and taking drugs like crazy.
Not even like subconsciously, I just did.
I don't know why, but when my mom died, it just,
you know, after I did that Ibogaine thing,
I was just like, I didn't even think of drinking.
It'd be like the last thing I'd ever want to do now.
And now I look at it as, what would be the last thing that your mom would ever want you
to do drink or do drugs but i think there are drugs you know not do the drugs that i was doing
before yeah that were bringing me down a bad path wow so as far as i began is concerned uh you did
that again where did psilocybin come into the picture?
Did you do that afterwards?
We're doing a little bit of that in between.
Psilocybin kind of came in wherever it could come in.
So what happened was I knew a couple of people that could get it.
I had a couple of friends from like Instagram who were like,
Hey man,
I kind of live in your area and I have experience with mushrooms.
I'm like,
Hey,
let's meet up and talk.
And I didn't really expect to get anything from it.
But you'll find that people with mushrooms are so much different than drug dealers.
Like normal drug dealers are like, all right, man, it's $40 for this much.
With mushrooms, people just want to give them to you.
It's crazy.
So the first time I actually did mushrooms was with our buddy Carlos.
And you guys all know Carlos. Yeah, yeah so los he's just the man so carlos was like hey man i know like you get depressed and bummed
out about your pain and this and that and i i just think i can and this is actually before i did
um ibogaine too he's like i want to take you on a little hike and um we'll take a hike and
you know we'll take some mushrooms so we took a hike up in marin and we drove far we take a hike and, you know, we'll take some mushrooms. So we took a hike up in Marin and we drove far.
We took a hike and I kind of didn't feel anything, but Carlos was so high and he kept laughing
at everything.
I'm like, I don't know if I feel anything, but I had a great time.
And the other thing I realized that when I just took mushrooms, a kind of a small amount,
I usually can't hike and I usually hate hiking.
I usually be like, fuck this.
I'm not going hiking.
It's terrible because I was always in pain,
but I realized that I,
and this is before I did the eyeball game and I realized I'm not having any
pain.
And I was like,
are psychedelics like good for pain?
He's like,
I don't know.
He's like,
I just feel great when I take them.
I feel love.
Yeah.
I was like,
okay.
So then I did it again with Carlos and I realized I'm not in pain.
And then Carlos and I did acid.
Oh,
and acid was like going down. It seems like, but I'll tell you when I did mushrooms, I, and I've done
like a lot of mushrooms too. I've done like a high amount of mushrooms every time for me. And I don't
think this happens with everybody, but a lot of people have really bad gastric problems. Like it
kills my stomach, like worse than anything.
I'll get nauseous for a couple hours
and I actually don't really like it.
I feel really uncomfortable.
But then through, of course,
you know, through the magic of the internet,
I found Lemon Tech.
And Lemon Tech is really simple.
It sounds like for a very technical term
for basically grinding up the mushrooms in a coffee grinder
and dumping lemon juice on them and
waiting 20 minutes.
And it activates a psyllabin that's in psilocybin, which is the active ingredient psyllabin.
And the lemon activates that.
And then you shoot it down like a shot of whiskey, you know, but it's just a lemon mushroom
drink.
Wait, wait.
Actual whiskey or like a.
No, no.
It tastes like it.
Oh, like a shot.
It doesn't taste like whiskey either. It tastes like it oh shoot it down like a shot like a shot it doesn't taste like whiskey either it tastes like lemon and mushrooms which is gross okay but i'm
saying like like a shot just you know shoot it gotcha because it's like a little bit of lemon
juice and you know it's not a lot of liquid it's not like a big glass or i found that you can grind
it up and put put it in coffee and so i've done it both ways but when i did the lemon but coffee's
not coffee will help activate it quicker, but
coffee is not going to turn it into psyllabin, which is done in your stomach and in your
liver.
And one or the other, I'm not really sure.
I'm not too much of an expert, but I know that that's what it does.
When I did that, no gastric distress at all.
Zero.
And I just got like off to the moon in about 10 minutes and it was amazing.
And like,
I don't know if you ever taken,
have you ever taken like a THC edible?
No.
Don't lie.
I don't know.
Your mom's not watching.
No,
no,
no.
I don't know if it had T like these things.
It takes a long time to kick in or not.
It takes a long time to kick in.
Oh,
edible,
like edible marijuana.
Yeah.
But I don't know if maybe there's
no it has thc if that's what it is so you know unless it's a cbd edible which would be weird no
it wasn't a cbd so it was edible and you got high from it yes okay so you couldn't control it though
like you didn't know when it was gonna hit nope when it was gonna kick in nope but like that's
what's great about this mushroom concoction is it kicks in in like 10 minutes does it kick in
faster when you do the blending thing yeah okay yeah we blend it well the the lemon's what makes it kick in mushroom otherwise could
be like three hours something like that right um usually it's about like an hour to maybe 90
minutes a little uh more unpredictable but also especially with food right also like i gave you
a thc product that's supposed to kick in in five minutes, and you said it took like two hours.
But that could have been because you had food in your stomach.
You might have had a hot drink.
There's a lot of reasons why it could have delayed that.
You got anything you want to pass over here?
I do.
I actually am working with a company that has a THC product that kicks in within five
to seven minutes.
What is it?
It's going to be called High Caliber.
I like it.
And it's 100 milligrams of THC that kicks in in like a couple minutes.
This podcast is really going to change.
It'll be like around this date.
People are going to be like, there's something different.
I don't know when it happened.
There's a company out there called Pro, I think it's ProTerps, T-E-R-P-S, which is like terpenes that are in.
I think it's ProTerps.com.
I want to say something like that.
ProTerpsManufacturing.com.
Anyway, so they have a patented technology that can take raw cannabis leaf, extract the entire plant,
so it's full spectrum, take all the cannabinoids out of the plant, put it into a powder that bypasses the liver
and kicks in in like five to seven minutes.
Nobody's ever heard of this product.
Nobody's ever heard of the technology. And it's already patented. So I can talk about it a little
bit. Um, but that's another thing that I'm working with because like I said, if we can get the
technology from that and use it with other things like maybe psilocybin may, you know, cause
psilocybin is going to be legal soon, maybe create them. So it's like, I'm trying to find investors
for them and trying to find different people to
help.
And right now,
a lot of great people have their money in psychedelics.
If you look at Kevin O'Leary,
Mr.
Wonderful from shark tank.
I love that guy.
That guy is amazing.
All his money's in psychic,
not all of it,
but a lot of his money's in psychedelics.
Tim Ferriss dumped like $30 million in the psychedelics,
you know,
and he's really,
I don't know if it was all his money, but he's put a lot of money into it and he's really at the cutting edge in the
forefront of this whole psychedelic movement but i try to get in touch with these people to tell
them about eyeball game and what it does and it's like kind of nobody ever gets back to me on stuff
so it's what is uh it takes time to to get it out to get the word out you know, do you know some of the history is like it seemed like the 60s and 70s were like a time for that and
Peace love and happiness and all that and then it's like so how did they have an amazing?
How did they get deterred like what happened like something like it seemed very progressive at that time and then they disappeared
There's an amazing documentary called the sunshine makers and the sunshine makers is on,
um, I think you might have to get it on. I think it's on maybe on to be for free or one of these
free streaming, but just look up the sunshine makers. You can definitely rent it on iTunes.
Um, so, uh, sunshine makers is about orange sunshine LSD, which is actually amazing. It's
just like a really high end, well-formulated, uh, it's a highly formulated LSD formula that is just better and lasts longer.
And these guys were making it,
and this actually parallels a lot of the stuff with our boy Dan Duchesne,
who was the original steroid guru.
Well, before Dan Duchesne and steroid gurus,
there were like LSD gurus, guys who followed Timothy Leary.
Maybe some of what the SARMs guys deal with. exactly and so there's always cutting edge people out there
and these guys were it's so amazing to see how these guys were like making it in there i want
to check this out it sounds cool making it in their basement and stuff and so then so you see
all these things that are showing yeah then it got into like everybody trying to scare well yeah
everybody trying to scare you right but none, everybody trying to scare you. Right.
But none of that shit happened to me when I was doing LSD.
Like I didn't see any of that.
I just had fun and I felt great.
And, you know, so.
How long did it last, by the way?
12 hours.
That's that's the downfall of it.
You're locked in.
Yeah, you're locked in.
Holy shit.
So when I.
12 hours. But you have so much love
the first thing i thought of when i did orange sunshine is like i'm like i want to give mark
two pills and just tell him hey go to the beach house with andy or whatever and take this i don't
know if they would but like i just think it would it would elevate everything he's already doing
because it i mean it made me so creative.
Like I had writers,
I had writer's block for six years.
I did orange sunshine LSD and I cut a whole trailer for my meat movie that I
want to do in like two days.
And that usually takes me a month,
you know?
So I was just on fire with ideas and like,
you know how to do things.
And I'm not telling everybody,
Hey,
go take this.
You'll be really creative.
If you're not creative already,
you're probably not going to become creative, but I am creative. And I'm not telling everybody, Hey, go take this. You'll be really creative. If you're not creative already, you're probably not going to become creative, but I am
creative. And, but there's just, so what happens is if you look at a brain, you got to look at
brain scans of people on LSD and people on mushrooms, it connects things that have never
been connected before or things that, um, you know, so like maybe Mark has an idea and it's
like over here and he's got something else over here. But like it brings them together.
Yeah.
I mean, people would know this from like getting a runner's high or exercising in some way or even going on a walk.
Like sometimes you think of something when you're doing these things.
And I'm not saying it has the same power, but a lot of times you connect the dots when you're doing something else.
You know, if you're sitting there and you're like if you're like man i gotta come up with a different move because this guy keeps breaking
me down and when i do jujitsu it's not going to come to you thinking about it that way it's going
to come to you when you're like taking a shit or something something random that gets your mind
going in a different direction especially after a workout after you lift or something i bet you
that you're all your shit's just really stirring at that point you know yeah and there's also thing
a lot of things that people don't know it's like why is apple the best like the biggest best one of the
biggest best companies in the world as far as being successful well steve jobs was into all
these drugs you know and a lot of people that we know that are really successful are into these
things and it's all over silicon valley i mean think, oh, these guys are just really smart dudes.
And, like, yes, they are.
They're really smart dudes.
But when they get into psychedelics, it goes to a different level.
They actually found that, especially with Ibogaine, which is weird because nobody really does Ibogaine,
but they found that Ibogaine and some of these other psychedelics can actually grow new brain cells.
And I don't know too much about that, but I'm just seeing hints of research, right?
I just read a study, which is really interesting because my big focus is getting people out
of pain.
I don't want people to feel like shit because I felt like shit for 47 years before I found
Ibogaine, you know, or 45 years before I found Kratom because Kratom was a first step.
And also I credit the carnivore diet was a good step.
I found those things at 45.
I don't want people to have to go through that.
But I think that, you know, I think that if you look at the studies from San Diego State,
they have a study that's like the psychedelic science of pain.
And it's an article that you can read.
And three researchers at the University of San Diego
sort of ran into the same thing I did.
They're like, hey, we had people take psychedelics,
and they're telling me their chronic pain is gone.
Can you imagine if this is a cure for chronic pain
when we have this gigantic opioid epidemic out there?
And then to get people off the opioids,
we have things like Kratom, which can help withdrawals,
and we have things like Ibogaine
that can help really severe withdrawals. So I think like with the right people and the
right focus, we can wipe out this whole epidemic if we really wanted to. We're going to see what
Joe Biden does because Hunter Biden is actually an Ibogaine patient. So things get more interesting.
How did you find out he was an Ibogaine patient? Was it before all this stuff or after?
The interwebs.
People have been talking about it.
They said he went to Mexico and he got treatment.
And I really hope that that's true because I feel like, you know,
I look at it this way.
I didn't, I, you know, I wasn't like a big fan of Joe Biden,
but like, I think that if I can get to talk to these people, like that's,
we got to rather than like go out Hunter Biden.
He's a bad guy.
He was a crackhead.
Why not embrace him and say, you know what?
We all make mistakes.
I was an addict, too.
Let me go talk to Hunter Biden because I probably actually relate to the dude.
You know, he's probably cool.
You know what I mean?
And so that's something that I really think like that's what I want to try to do.
You know, and Mark and I, to try to do, you know? And,
um,
Mark and I,
we went to a,
a rally for Trump and he knows,
uh,
Don jr.
And so a lot of people got so mad that I went to a rally,
but I'm like,
I didn't go there to like pump up Donald Trump.
I went there to get closer to the,
to the people that can make a difference.
If it helps me to make a difference,
like I love everybody anyway,
especially when you do psychedelics.
But yeah, we're not like sworn into the Republican Party.
I'm not sworn into shit.
I don't attach to anybody or anything.
If Biden is president, I'll support him.
But it ain't over yet.
Yeah, it ain't over yet.
But you know what I'm saying?
Like, let's let's try to figure out how to get to the right people so we can talk to
the right people about it.
Going back to your original question five hours ago about how this got all, you know,
damn to hell, it was I don't know exactly why, but a lot of people like they have an
agenda like so Joe Biden actually go back him.
His agenda when he was in Congress in 1990 was against steroids.
And he made those bastards when he punched the table in your movie. Yeah.
They were better than me.
They beat me out.
Not because I had better talent,
because they used something
artificial, whatever. I get his point, whatever.
But he actually ignored
all the medical experts, every single medical expert
from the American Heart Association.
All these people came in and
said, hey, you know what? We don't think steroids are actually that dangerous for health reasons.
So we probably shouldn't make them illegal or schedule them this high.
Maybe we schedule them lower or whatever.
And that was more their recommendations.
But he just said, let's ban them all.
And, you know, people go, look what Joe Biden did.
He's working for the kids.
He's fighting for the young kids out there.
And he looks great.
And I get it.
Right.
But there's there's consequences to these things. And there and he looks great. I get it. But there's consequences
to these things. And a lot of people
want to gel for steroids. And it's the same with LSD.
Charlie Manson.
That's a good horse to ride
when it comes to
trying to scare people
about what these things can do. His whole
group was high on everything all the time.
They murdered...
There's also all these crazy things with Charlie Mansonson and lsd and the cia actually giving it to him and
here's the difference and this is what everybody needs to understand everything's dose dependent
you know like that's the poison is in the dose or whatever how do they say something like that
it's fine that's good enough some there's some sort of saying makes sense but it is it's like
almost everything's okay like sugar's okay
but not if you eat a ton of it you know it's a plant it's a plant it's almost almost everything's
okay cocaine is used in medical procedures all the time like there's all sorts of shit that's
like okay for certain reasons wait it is yeah oh yeah it's like um anesthetic okay yeah did not
know that well it comes from a plant, too, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So all these things, none of them are really that bad.
They're used for something.
That's why they made them in the first place.
And what happens is they find ways to have scare tactics.
Like back in the day, if you watch Bigger, Stronger, Faster, I had a clip of reefer madness.
They're like, oh, all these people go insane from smoking pot. And I bought into all of it. I bought into Nancy Reagan doing the just say no campaign.
But what I didn't know, because I was a young kid, I didn't read her daughter's book that said my mom
was a drug addict who would pop amphetamines before she'd go up in front of kids and tell
them to just say no. And you're like, this is such a crazy double standard. Like Nancy Reagan
was really popping amphetamines.
And what was your post that you had on Twitter about the war on drugs?
That was pretty cool about Oregon.
I said congratulations to drugs for winning the war on drugs because drugs just stuck it out.
And I ended up winning, you know, and they and they what they did.
And a lot of people need to understand this as well.
They decriminalized everything in Oregon.
So it's decriminalized yeah everything pretty much so you can't get in trouble for having
a personal amount of drugs including anabolic steroids so let's all move to oregon people are
going to be yoked yeah all these bodybuilders out there but it's the new abu dhabi yeah right
but that doesn't mean it's legal to just go up there and start dealing drugs.
Right.
So there are some weird things with that because I, but I do feel that Oregon, so like you
have Oregon and Oregon state, which are great universities.
And I think they're at a real, well, I think they're at a real advantage not to do drugs.
OSU's about to be jacked.
It's going to come out with some creative shit.
Yeah. Nike, you have like all these tie-dye shoes and shit.
What I'm saying, though, is that by having great universities there, I think they will be able to do the studies.
Because when I was doing the Kratom movie and I was talking to Dr. Chris McCurdy down at University of Florida, he'd been researching this stuff for 13 years, but he basically had to shut down his lab several times because every time the FDA would issue a new warning about Kratom, he'd have to shut down his lab.
And his students who were there trying to get a PhD and stuff, they had to wait.
They had to put their semester off and all this crazy shit just because these drugs are illegal.
They wanted to make them schedule one drugs.
And if you do that,
you can't do research on it.
It halts the research.
So I think what Oregon did is great for research.
And I think you're going to see a lot of studies coming out of places like
Oregon and Oregon state and whatever schools are there.
Okay.
So I'm still curious about,
I guess,
psilocybin, right? Yeah.
Because we're talking, we were talking about Ibogaine and Ibogaine seems like it's a little
bit, at least in, it's out of reach.
It's out of reach.
And it's a little crazy, but maybe perfect for some people that are really suffering.
Yeah.
If you're really suffering.
Yeah.
But I've been hearing about psilocybin on a bunch of podcasts, articles, et cetera.
So in terms of psilocybin are from, from what you know of it, since you've done a lot of
like looking into it, what are the real benefits for people in terms of using it?
And then what are the potential dangers of psilocybin if you think there are really any?
I think the main benefits are mental health.
And like right now we're in the middle of a pandemic and I think people either grounding up a bunch of psilocybin and taking it, um, either microdosed. So a
microdose is like when you actually don't feel anything, but I hate when you don't feel anything.
I like feeling stuff. So for me, I don't really subscribe to the microdosing, but microdosing,
um, say like your girlfriend wanted to take it, but she's like, I don't want to, like,
I have to go to work every day. I can't take take psilocybin but you can take amount that's small enough that after
about a month builds up in your system and really starts to work really effectively for just sort of
raising your mood there's been a lot of people who are suicidal and they've done studies with
microdosing that shows that a lot of um these microdosing studies show that psilocybin mushrooms
can be four times as effective as any antidepressant on the market.
We know what happens when kids take antidepressants.
We saw it in Bigger, Stronger, Faster.
It could be contributing to suicide.
I'm not saying that it is.
I'm saying that it can be a contributor to suicide, just like the steroids could have been, right?
Could have been either one.
We don't know.
just like the steroids could have been, right?
Yeah.
Could have been either one.
We don't know.
Plus a kid withdrawing from steroid use and taking antidepressants,
that puts you in a really bad position
when you're a kid and your brain's not fully formed.
One thing I should say,
I think anybody out there that's listening to this podcast,
if there is anybody that's under like 25,
I don't think they should mess with any of this.
I think that like,
and I don't mean to be like an old man
and I'm 48 years old.
I'm like, ah, you kids, you know, don't mess with it.
But the thing is, your brain's not fully formed.
I would hate to see, like, Mark's son get into any sort of drugs or alcohol before he's 25.
Because if he can kind of just hold off until you're 25, you know, it's like your brain's fully formed.
You can make good decisions, and a lot of bad things just don't happen.
Let me just kind of expand upon that.
I have a very close family member who did some things before the age of 25. They were like 22.
Yeah. Right. Not the same. Yeah. Not the same. And it was some light stuff, but they had something
within their genetic structure that kind of flipped a switch and they were not the same.
You know, Mad Dog got into all this stuff really young and he was already mentally
unstable when he was young.
He just had a lot of issues.
You know,
he would strike out in baseball and he'd throw the baseball bat and,
you know,
yell at the coaches and all these things.
So for him to mix drugs in when he was like 16 and 17 was just not a good
idea for him.
And it led to him dying at 37 years old from whatever he died from.
Like we don't even really know,
but I know that that's the reason is drugs and alcohol got them there,
you know, and it's just really sad because relationships too, you know,
relationships, you know, I don't even know what you would do, you know,
with a kid, your, your son or whatever,
that wants to be in a relationship when they're like 14, but it's, um,
not that it's negative and not that it will lead to problems,
but it just can, it just, it holds a lot of weight.
Well, relationships when you're 14 usually don't last and that, and it causes heartbreak
for kids and it causes teasing and it causes all this other stuff.
All these things that are very difficult as an adult, I would just multiply it.
I would just say it's, it's a lot harder on a kid.
And then a kid who's 15 the kid is 15 or 14,
uh,
is going to be pissed off is going to be,
you know,
feel isolated alone.
Like that's very,
very normal for kids to feel that way.
My parents don't understand me.
Nobody understands me.
I don't want to talk to anybody like all those things.
I mean,
it's,
I think every teenager experiences some of that.
And,
and so I think that,
uh,
you guys are right. A hundred percent, but it's, yeah, it's hard to figure out how to, you know, pull them back on some of that stuff.
And now there's more information than ever of people utilizing a lot of stuff and becoming
very famous and, and kind of getting ahead, whether it be steroids or whether it be, you
know, we talked, uh, early today about, uh, like Jimi Hendrix be you know we talked uh early today about uh
like jimmy hendrix yeah you know he died at like 27 or something crazy amazing too yeah
but do you ever went down still talked about today do you ever have those conversations
with your kids or does it not come up yeah no we've we talk about all kinds of stuff um we have examples you know we have
we use real world examples we have examples in our family of yeah you know histories of
well jake remembers mad dog right yeah oh yeah man dog man dog yeah yeah yeah he was really young
when mad dog died yeah yeah we have uh examples of that and i also talk about drugs very openly like hey that
i don't i don't see anything really wrong with them yeah uh however you can lose control and
especially if you're young um and then if you lose control then it interferes with your life and
you're not able to you know do a lot of the things that you'd like to do so while getting high is
probably fun and probably cool,
if you start to get addicted to that, that's probably not great.
And you know what's really interesting is like the things that kids want to do,
like drink and, you know, well, they want to smoke pot now,
which I don't think is that bad, but it can, you know, turn into laziness and whatever.
But, you know, people say there's no good drug and bad drug.
It's like a drug just sits there.
And but I I kind of disagree with that in ways where a little bit like food, right?
Yeah.
It's like I kind of agree.
I get it.
But also, I feel like alcohol is the worst drug on the entire planet.
And it causes so many bad things and breakups of family families and the way people look
like it ages the shit out of you.
It's just horrible, you know, and the way people look, like it ages the shit out of you. It's just horrible, you know?
And in very normal amounts, it's okay.
But I feel like nobody drinks it in normal amounts, especially in America.
I mean, if you, I don't know if you heard.
You drink it to get drunk, right?
Yeah, people, and to get a buzz.
And people talk about how they would drive, you know, during the pandemic,
they drive around the dumpsters is full alcohol bottles,
you know,
and we're drinking ourselves to death and it's pathetic and it's,
it's gross.
And it's like,
I used to do that.
I know what that's like to drink yourself to death.
And I just wake,
would wake up every day bloated.
I look so old,
you know,
my skin looks like shit.
I think it's a little bit worse than what you were doing in a sense, not from a moral perspective at all or anything like that. But I think it's worse
because I think that people don't, I think at that time you knew what you were doing was wrong.
You just didn't know how to stop it. Yeah. I couldn't, I think that what people are doing
today, they have no recognition that it's a huge problem. Yeah. And it's just sad because I,
like I said, I don't think it's bad to drink. I think it's bad to drink all the time.
And then, um, you know, again, with marijuana marijuana you can just overdo that too i was before you
know during the pandemic i was spending so much money going to the dispensary and buying a bunch
of edibles because i thought like i was well i'm just bored i'll just take them and it got to a
point where i would take like two or three edibles in a day and they're like really strong like 100
milligrams you know and i'd be like joey diaz popping edibles but the thing was they got to a point where it did absolutely
nothing yes and i could take tolerance yeah i could take 300 milligrams of thc and just you
know drive to the store and like i'm telling you like completely fine and yeah to me like
and it's expensive that like that can end up costing a lot of money i don't you know it's expensive. That can end up costing you a lot of money. I don't have money like that to be blowing on stupid shit.
And so I just made a pact with myself that this next time when I did Ibogaine, I felt like that was an addiction.
And again, to get out of addictions, you need to be rigorously honest with yourself.
You need to say, you know what?
I'm addicted to marijuana.
I know it sounds stupid, but I'm addicted to it because I go to the damn store every day. I'm like, I'm not going to
go to that store starting when I get back from Denver. And I haven't. And to me, like, that's
awesome because it's like not like I'm not saying I'll never do that again. I'm just never paying
for it again. You know, like I'm never going to go spend money on that again because I don't want
to. If I'm somewhere and somebody has it and whatever, I feel like doing it, maybe.
But I feel like I get to be what Mark says, made of something different.
You know, be made of something different.
Don't buy into the bullshit and don't buy into the crowd saying that you got to, you
know, you got to do this or that.
And I'm just done with, I'm done with stuff that's negative.
I'm done with stuff that's going to hold me back.
I only want things that are going to move me forward.
I've shared with my kids
too that a lot of great things have happened
with people being high.
I try to explain to them that
it's not all bad.
Where would Adam Sandler movies be?
Right.
But Eminem is a great example.
Or Jimi Hendrix mentioned earlier.
But I think a lot of great poetry. A lot of great writing, a lot of great ideas, inventions, creations.
You mentioned Steve Jobs.
And the list of that shit goes on and on and on.
So I want my kids to just understand from the get-go that sometimes people utilize these things and they pay off.
And sometimes people use them in a way that just helps them deal with life.
Again, just like diet tools, right?
Yeah.
There's tools.
Tools of the trade.
Kids use video games on their phone to deal with their life, right?
Yeah.
They use Instagram and whatever else.
And how can you tell a kid not to play video games when people are making millions and
millions of dollars doing it on Twitch?
So it's like, you know, there are exceptions to everything.
Me and Jake have an ongoing joke.
You can't play video games your whole life.
And then we both laugh and we're like, but can you?
But you kind of can, you know, and we laugh about that.
So Russell, he's my friend from the gym here.
And Russell, he loves video games.
And he goes on Twitch and he plays and he makes like 60, 70 bucks a night.
And it's not bad, but he's like, hey, man, it's just spending money.
I can buy more steaks.
Yeah.
Because he's doing carnivore diet.
And he says, well, you know, I feel bad and guilty spending all this money on steak.
Well, there he goes.
He's got a steak fund from like Twitch, right?
Yeah.
And that's just kind of a really cool, interesting thing that you can do something like that.
Mm-hmm.
That's it.
Just playing games, you know?
I got to hit that guy up.
What you got over there,
Andrew?
So,
I mean,
so much to unpack from everything you've been saying.
unpack it.
Thank you so much.
But as far as like psilocybin,
just because I think me and Seema are definitely interested in that.
But is the experience anything similar to like having some of those edibles?
Yeah,
kind of similar,
but not the same.
It's like,
um,
everything sort of like everything sort of brightens up and looks different and
looks like edibles.
You get high and things are kind of funnier and maybe,
you know,
but with the mushrooms,
you don't have like crazy visions,
but you'll see things as like beautiful.
And if you take a lot of mushrooms,
you also see the dirt and everything.
So like when I first did a massive, what they call a heroic dose of mushrooms you also see the dirt and everything so like when i
first did a massive what they call a heroic dose of mushrooms i was like this this apartment is
disgusting like i started cleaning the shit out of everything so in a way it was positive though
yeah because it made me see all the flaws and all the holes but then you walk outside in the nature
and you're like oh my god it's so beautiful out like i can't believe you know that this is real and you get like you kind of feel a little
stupid when you're with somebody else because you're like oh i can't believe how beautiful it
is man you know but it's all love and you just love whoever you're with you know going with
carlos was like the funniest thing because we're just like i love you bro you're great man you're
so awesome and then like you just i don't know
you just it may but it makes you feel that way for a long time afterwards i mean you know you'll go
home and you'll feel that way towards your family as well and i think that that's what's cool is
that these things have some staying power to them especially if you do them several times you know
you were talking about having a bad back i think so did it? Nope. Mosquito. Damn. I'm not totally sure yet, but I think I sent you the psychedelics of pain.
Yeah, he sent me that.
That hearing blood.
That thing's going to get the most jacked.
Yeah, he's going to be jacked.
Hopefully he injects us with some of that.
He's going to be the CEO of the company.
It's Mosquito.
He's going to come in all jacked.
So to clarify, nothing moves.
All of us are going to be chasing that mosquito.
Come on, come get me. But nothing moves when you're on psilocybin right that's what i was
wondering like you're not gonna see like a deer moving across no i think with lsd you can have
like more of those kind of hallucinations especially at higher doses that happen you
uh not really but things kind of looked weird um i look when you look at your phone it's like whoa like the best thing to do is stay
away from technology actually so if you talk about and people should know some of these names like
terence mckenna and is sort of considered the uh he wrote a book called like food of the gods and
he's sort of considered the top guy on like psychedelics he's on joe rogan and stuff and
there's a lot of stuff you can look another guy i love and if. And if you ever do acid, you have to watch Midnight Gospel.
It's the funniest thing ever, especially if you're on acid.
Have you seen it?
I've seen the show, but I haven't been on acid.
Yeah.
So Duncan Trussell is kind of amazing.
And he's Duncan Trussell.
I think Duncan Trussell is one of the best podcasts.
He always talks about psychedelics, but he also talks about some of these teachings from
some of these gurus have used psychedelics.
Like there's a guy named Ram Dass.
Oh, yeah.
I've heard of Ram Dass.
Yeah.
And so Ram Dass does all these, you know, very like I think he would like like Mark
would like it because it's very, very intelligent and very scholarly.
Like and he's giving you all these teachings about life and saying all this cool stuff.
And I think that I think that stuff's important and it goes with it.
I don't think you need a shaman.
I don't think you always need somebody there like that.
But I do think you have to have some spirituality into it because I think if you don't, you're just kind of missing out.
So one of the things that's most amazing is I did what they call
a heroic dose of mushrooms, which is five grams,
because a friend of mine gave me a whole bag and I started eating them
and it started to get kind of fun.
And then I threw on an M and M song and I was just like,
what would M and M do?
M and M would eat the whole bag.
And so I just ate the whole bag and all of a sudden I,
I just went on a trip like to the moon.
This is in that trip.
I definitely saw like weird stuff and weird,
you know,
weird things really happened.
And again,
it killed pain just like the eyeball game.
Like when I came out of it, I felt great for weeks, you know?
So I do think that psychedelics can kill pain.
It could probably help your back.
I can't say like, oh, it's going to heal your back.
I don't know what it's going to do for you, but I can tell you what it did for me.
It made me feel amazing.
Some of it might give you a different perspective on your back or how you feel about yourself.
One thing you guys should both know is that when you do any
psychedelics, well, you guys should know, when you do
psychedelics, you realize that everything's
bullshit. Everything.
This election, this is bullshit.
Who even cares? You don't, nothing
affects you anymore. Like, I don't
care, you know? Well, you realize it doesn't
in a good way. It doesn't actually affect your character.
What it does, it helps you detach. It you detach impact that at all you detach from other things right and when
you detach from other things it allows you to think clearly on your own and be your own person
because you're stuck and yeah you're everybody's stuck to something right we're stuck thinking about
other people's bullshit they were stuck to our ideas we're stuck to wearing a mask not wearing
a mask you're stuck on it you just not worry about it yeah yeah if you don't worry and you just do the right thing as you know it all the time i think
you'll be okay and when you realize everything's bullshit it actually really helps you it's the
guy in high school who doesn't give a fuck about anything he gets more pussy than anybody yeah
he just doesn't fucking care you know he's just chill yeah and that's and that's what people are
attracted to because when you're attached to things, you tend to defend them.
You tend to get you know, it makes you aggressive.
Like, oh, I think this guy said this and blah, blah, blah.
And you argue with people who cares.
Like I see on the Internet all the time on Twitter.
And I just I'm going to start refereeing because I see people will go after like people that I like will go after people I like.
So, you know, there'll be a tweet from, you know, some carnivore versus some other guy who's trying to shut him down.
And it can all remain nameless.
But I like.
I know who you're thinking of because I'm thinking of that.
But I like both guys.
And I want to say, guys, we should get together and do some mushrooms.
Yeah.
Because that would be the way that they could talk and they could come together and they could actually agree.
And they could agree to disagree, but they can come out of it going, I got your point, bro.
I love you.
And walk away rather than all this Twitter bullshit.
It is so immature and it's so stupid.
And when you take mushrooms or LSD, you realize all that stuff is bullshit.
You just don't care.
You kind of become like Mark is very stoic,
and I'll see somebody wrote something about Slingshot,
and I'll want to go crazy on the guy,
and he'll be like, ha-ha, that's funny,
because he's already detached from a lot of things.
Yeah, yeah.
Just that's a trait that he has, I believe.
But also, I think it's a muscle that he developed.
A couple years ago, I bought him a book by Ryan Holiday called The Daily Stoic.
And I think he read it and somehow just sunk into his brain.
But I think that, I don't know if that helped or not, but I think that like that kind of stuff.
I've researched stuff.
Yeah.
That is similar from that point.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I think that that's important is I think anybody should actually look at The Daily Stoic because the Daily Stoic and Mark said something before that was great.
He said, oh, you know, these runners high and they kind of happen naturally and not to discount the psychedelics, but not to discount the natural things, the natural things.
So what we do in this country is we are dopamine chasers.
Mark went to Bodega Bay and did like what he calls a dopamine fast.
And that's even hard to do because everything's dopamine.
You have sugar, it's dopamine.
You have this.
So dopamine is chasing the girls,
chasing pornography,
chasing TV shows,
chasing likes on Twitter.
But serotonin is when your mom says,
you know what?
I love you, sweetheart,
and gives you a big hug.
That's serotonin,
and there's nothing like it.
Duncan Trussell was just talking about it the other day.
I've spent thousands and thousands of dollars on drugs, probably millions on drugs,
to get high, to get to a certain point where I could feel that serotonin in my brain and be happy.
But when my kid was eating pancakes that I made the other day that were really healthy,
and there was nothing bad in them, and he said, wow, daddy, these are yummy.
He's like, that's that I couldn't buy that drug.
They don't sell that drug.
And I think a lot of people are missing out on the real life, real world serotonin.
And sometimes people don't have that.
But you've got to search that out.
You've got to look for the things that help you produce serotonin and go after that.
Like a long walk in nature. Serotonin and go after that. Like a long walking nature.
Serotonin is a time investment.
Yeah.
You know, it's going to cost you time.
You teach your kid how to tie their shoe and they're like, Hey, look, I tied my shoe.
You're proud of me. And you're like, you can just start crying over a tied shoe.
It doesn't make any sense, but you're super pumped that they were able to implement something
that you showed them.
And it probably took you months to do it.
Or you go brag to your friends like, Hey, today, like, um,
Jake's learned how to play the guitar and Mark is so pumped about it,
but I love hearing about it. Cause it's like, it doesn't really,
there's no like, Oh, he's really, you know, you learn, you know,
it doesn't matter,
but it matters so much to him that that's what he'd rather talk about.
And to me, that's really cool.
And it just shows you like that he's a good dad and he's like that,
that that stuff's important. You it just shows you like that he's a good dad. And he's like that, that, that stuff's important.
You know, I think right now.
I just want to see my kids find something.
I don't really care what it is.
I don't care if he sticks with music or not.
Like, well, it seems like he's doing pretty good with it, but whatever it is, I'd love
to see him find something.
Cause I know how powerful that can be, you know, us finding lifting and say right now
our best friend is our dad, you know, like my mom died and my dad gets up and walks with us.
And, you know, he's always got crazy stuff to say and we love listening to it.
But we've just been hanging out with him a lot.
Tugger.com.
Yeah, just go to Tugger.com.
That doesn't sound okay.
I'm going to do it.
Go to Tugger.com first and we'll get back.
We'll come back there.
But my dad has been.
That was pretty good speed.
Mr. Miyagi.
You must become the mosquito, my son.
I got it.
My dad has been just awesome as far as, you know, just being close to him is what gives me serotonin.
So I'd rather stick close to him.
Well, not after he looks up Tugger.
But I'd rather stay close to him than try to chase dopamine in other areas.
Tugger.com doesn't exist.
Wait, Tugger as in T-U-G-G-E-R?
I'll find it.
Type in the Tugger, I think.
I don't know.
Tugger.
Tugger, like T-U-G-G-E-R?
Yeah, our dad watched some show about like, I don't know, some show that like a how-to show.
You guys are probably aware of it.
It's really popular, but it was like how to cover your furniture.
And it was all this stuff about covering and covering things and covering
this and covering that.
And so this guy,
as he went on this exploration of all this stuff that you can cover,
uh,
he ended up finding a guy that like covers his dick with something to help
like stretch it out.
Stretches out your foreskin to kind of make you like you were uncircumcised.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Right.
And it's got like a weight attachment.
So our dad is very embarrassed by any sexual stuff.
Stuff comes on TV that has any sort of sex stuff on it or whatever.
Yeah.
He'll leave the room or like he's just uncomfortable with it.
Like, and we've never talked about it or anything, you know, anything,
anything like remotely close to mentioning a penis or about it or anything you know anything anything like remotely
close to mentioning a penis or a vagina or fucking anything like he just has always been it's always
been a spot that he just would rather not talk to with his kids you know understandable all right
okay and so then he's describing this thing to me and he's telling me he's like yeah this guy's got
this weight he's like it's amazing what they're showing he's like he's got this weight attached to his dick and he's like
and he's all shaved and everything so you could see it and i'm like what the what am i listening
to yeah yeah and he so i told him i said it was hilarious so i told my dad i said listen because
we one of the things we've been doing to connect is talking about tv shows yeah and so i go hey
you got to watch how to oh yeah podcasts and stuff yeah hey, you got to watch How To. Oh, yeah, podcasts and stuff.
Yeah.
And so you got to watch How To on HBO Max.
Okay.
And it's a show.
It's called How To.
And it's a guy, it's amazing.
A guy, there's like six episodes.
A guy takes a camera and he goes out in New York City
and just finds the weirdest shit and films it.
And you never really see the guy.
He's just filming people.
And there's all these crazy episodes about this crazy thing.
But one of
the last one of the like fourth episode is about covering your furniture and he it leads him to
talk to this guy and this is it the tlc um tugger right here it's this thing but you can i mean you
can look that up i don't know do i want to look it up ultimate well the guy said a superior outcome
yeah the guy said it gives you better sex so i'm with lauren shouldn't have that part i mean i'm in I don't know. Do I want to look it up? Ultimate control superior outcome.
Yeah, the guy said it gives you better sex.
So I'm with Lauren.
Shouldn't have had that part chopped off.
I'm in the car and I'm with Lauren.
And my dad's like, hey, did you watch episode five about the guy's dick?
And I'm like, what?
And Lauren is dying laughing.
And he just keeps going on and on about it. He couldn't stop talking about it.
And it was just, it was great.
But that's serotonin moments, you know?
Basically is what I'm trying to say.
Go get yourself a tugger.
Hey, get one for somebody you care about for Christmas.
Tug someone you love.
So what it does.
Oh, wow.
So what this does is it restores the elegant simplicity, restores slack skin.
What it does is foreskin restoration is about better sex.
Undo some of the damage
of circumcision.
And the guy
is so into his product.
It's sort of like
Smelly trying to sell
a slingshot.
You know, it's like
he was so into it.
Like, you gotta see this.
You won't believe it.
He was so pumped.
But remember he said,
oh, the guy shaved
and everything.
So you can really see
how it works.
I was like, what?
Yeah, we're still kind of.
But that's our family.
That was a walk I could have missed.
You know, I could have went with missing that one.
See, and my mom wouldn't let that show fly.
So before, he wouldn't have never watched that show
because Rosie would have shut him down.
Yeah, now who knows what he's watching?
Yeah, no idea.
Incredible.
All right, Bor, what about creativity?
Out of all the different ones that you've experienced, which ones do you think are going to help you the most?
What helped me the most was Orange Sunshine LSD.
I directly used it for creativity.
I did a movie I told you called Ibogainz, I-B-O-G-A-I-N-Z on YouTube.
I didn't really promote it that much because I'm hoping to get some people together and
work on a feature-length documentary.
I think what I can do is do a film about psychedelics that does for psychedelics what
Bigger, Stronger, Faster did for steroids and sort of get these
things like really out there, but also connect some really good personal stories to it that are
really interesting and fun and funny. And so I'm trying to do that. But as far as creativity goes,
I had like, I guess I had, I want to call it writer's block, even though I know Mark doesn't
really think it exists, but it kind of does in a way where I would write.
So I didn't have like writer's block where I couldn't write.
But every time I would write, I would be like, this is garbage.
I'd scrap it and start over.
My problem wasn't writer's block.
It was I could not finish it.
And after I did Eyeball Game, I actually when I just did Eyeball Game just by itself, I finished it really quick.
You know, I just I finished a movie in like a month and so then after i finished after i did the eyeball game um i was trying to make i'm doing i have a movie
that i'm pitching right now called meatheads it's about how mark and i are just meatheads but how
eating meat can really change people's lives and change the environment forever you know basically
if we do things right and talking about that,
talking about the goods and the bads of diets and what we've learned on this journey after bigger,
stronger, faster, it's really probably end up going to morph into more of a project about Mark
and I and how, you know, what happened since bigger, stronger, faster. Cause I think if you
start putting all that stuff together, it really is going to teach people how to come to a conclusion
about their health. I mean,
he was 330 pound power lifter and I was an alcoholic drug addict mess after bigger,
stronger, faster. So how did we use the, not just meat, but how do we use these tools that we learned in the gym to become better people? You know? So I was cutting a trailer for that and the
producers, they all live in LA and they're like hey man netflix
really wants to see something and i was just like oh shit like i can't can't do anything so i
literally did the orange sunshine lsd and the next day sat down and i cut that trailer like
in like a day and it's really like kind of intricate and there's a lot of shit in it
and i just had the ideas just came you know and a lot of times the ideas came
when i was listening to a song so i was watching one of my favorite shows of all time called
succession i don't know if you guys ever saw that heard of it you have to watch it it's one of the
best written shows ever in the history of television okay and um yeah i was watching
succession and uh the the theme song it's about family and it's like the theme song. It's about family. And it's like the theme song in the beginning
is really cool.
And it has these shots of all them
as little kids running around. It just reminded me
of Bigger, Stronger, Faster.
I'm like, that's it.
I didn't even have a name for the movie, really.
I didn't have a theme for what the movie was.
I was like, that's it. My brother and I
are just meatheads. But we learned
a lot of shit. And I just started talking. And I started writing it down. And I went and recorded it. My brother and I are just meatheads, but we learned, you know, we learned a lot of shit and I just started talking and I started writing it
down and I started,
you know,
went and recorded it.
Nice.
And when I went and recorded it,
put it all together,
everybody's seen it so far as like,
this is amazing.
And so,
you know,
we have that pitch out to like several people right now and we'll see what
happens with it.
But as far as creativity goes,
that,
that was off the charts.
Creativity.
I've never had.
So I,
like I said,
I took hundreds and hundreds of milligrams of THC
in the past year, and I stopped doing that
because it wasn't getting me anywhere.
All it would do is make me tired,
and then the other thing that people don't know about,
and I think THC has its place.
Like I told you about high caliber.
I'll use that for certain things.
I think THC's great for pain,
and it's great for pain pain and going to sleep.
And one thing that helps me with a lot is I have crazy, crazy dreams that wake me up.
THC actually stops you from dreaming.
So in a way, sometimes that's really good for me because I don't have dreams when I,
when I take it.
But lately I've just been having the wackiest, craziest dreams.
Sometimes they're fun to try to like remember and I try to like write them down, but lately I've just been having the wackiest, craziest dreams. Sometimes they're fun to try to like remember.
And I try to like write them down, but they, you kind of forget them in like, you know,
five minutes of being awake, you forget it.
But some of them have really affected me.
But you know, I just, um, I think as far as you, you know, you want to go with creativity,
I would say the LSD was amazing, but I also think the mushrooms are just as good for all.
I think they, they're so similar, but my feeling with the mushrooms is they've always hurt
my stomach personally, and they've always gave me a different feeling.
Like when I do the mushrooms, I don't know how to explain it, but it's not as happy.
It's great, but it's not as happy.
Which one is more dissimilar to edibles?
Because I hate that experience.
You hate the edible experience? Yeah, I do not like it. Oh, the L dissimilar to edibles because i hate that experience you hate the edible experience yeah i do not like it oh the lsd is nothing like edibles nothing like it at all now
i have a question where to get it ls as far as lsd is concerned not not where to get it but you know
we were talking about why do these things have such a you know negative stigma outside of the
manson stuff when i hear lsd immediately i'm like oh shit i was too
i thought it was for losers so yeah so so explain to us like there there has to be like there has
to be some legitimacy behind the whoa when it comes to lsd where is the danger as far as yeah
i think so the danger is um set and setting. And I think that in the 60s,
it was all free love and happiness
and people were out in public doing these things.
The way that Terrence McKenna would say to do them
is in a dark room all by yourself.
Yeah, don't be watching your kids and shit like that.
Yeah, you don't go to a rave.
You don't go to a party.
These aren't party drugs.
These are heavy, heavy psychedelics
that are rewiring your brain as you do them. So when I said before, you should look at brain
scan patterns of like LSD and what it connects. And why would you want to be running around a
concert with that going on? Maybe it could be fun, but also maybe you need to do it on its own
after you do that, because like, that's not a good place to get therapy.
And so a lot of times it's set and setting.
Most of the time it's set and setting kids.
We go to school high on LSD.
It's a worst place to be,
you know? So I think a lot of it's that I don't know.
I've heard of people having bad trips,
but it's always at a concert.
It's always at some bullshit.
I'm like,
Oh,
maybe they're drinking.
Maybe they're drinking.
I was,
I was hammered and I took a bunch of mushrooms and it was awful. Well, that's why it's fucking at some bullshit i'm like oh well maybe there's your bad trip maybe they're drinking alcohol i was i was hammered i took a bunch of mushrooms and it was awful well that's
why it's fucking awful like plan it out you know i think um you would love this you fast before you
do it the more you fast the better it hits you and the more you fast like the better it's going
to help you do all the therapeutic stuff you want to do. So you fast, like do a long fast, almost 24 hours and then take the mushrooms.
And then after you take mushrooms, I think I don't have any science behind this, but
I think I just crave fruit.
So this is actually amazing.
Carlos and I did either mushrooms or LSD.
We did LSD and we were in Davis by my house and we walked from my house and we walked
like, I think we walked over 10 miles,
like all like just fired up all walking through Davis.
We're laughing at everybody.
There's like the,
the park is shut down with police tape over it and stuff.
And we're looking at like,
this is so sad,
you know?
And we're just waving at everybody,
like saying hi to everybody.
And Carlos won't wear a mask.
He refuses to.
So I said,
we were walking so far.
I'm like,
I'm so hungry and so thirsty.
I have to go in.
And it's not a feeling like you're drunk either.
Like you're in control of this.
I need to go in a nugget and get some food,
but I'll get food for both of us.
Cause you don't have a mask.
He's like,
all right.
He's like,
just give me a couple things of fruit.
Like,
you know,
so I thought he meant like a couple little containers, but he just meant like
maybe one container. I couldn't decide what fruit I wanted and it all looks so good because it was
so colorful. And I bought every, I bought every single kind of fruit. Like I bought strawberries,
blueberries, pineapple, mangoes, grapes. I bought everything. And I brought out this giant bag that
I could bear, two bags. I could barely carry it.
And I go,
dude,
I just spent $75.
So I bought seven between fruit and like two waters.
I spent $75 at nugget and we like,
but we smashed it.
Like we smashed half of it.
We took the rest of it back to my house.
Watch that midnight gospel show.
And by the next day,
all that fruit was,
was gone.
So you definitely crave fruit.
Well, I do something sweet. Yeah. Something sweet sweet but at least it's like you know obviously fruit and not i mean i i kind of blew it out the next day but um you know fruit not quantity is not
good but i think fruit would be better than than some other things you could eat if you're high
you know yeah do you think that uh you know getting through that writer's block is just what we can call it right now do you think some of that had to do with uh
taking the lsd that just maybe you got some more ideas or do you think that it just made you not
really care about what other people were going to say about i think like that too it gives you a
different perspective but also it actually gave me the ideas it like handed okay it felt like it handed me the keys you know like here you go that's why i wanted mark to try go
you know what he invented the slingshot without this shit what the hell he invent with it you
know like i don't know maybe nothing but it's i always like to see you know i think it's steroids
for your brain put it that way yeah this is your brain on steroids that's great because i just
didn't want it to be one of those things where like,
Oh no,
I just don't care,
but I'm still not creating,
you know,
you have to already be creative.
Like you're,
you're already in that mode.
I see you in here busting your ass every day,
sitting on this computer and,
you know,
talking to people and doing,
you know,
video chats with people and adding shit to the website.
So you already have that.
It's just going to make that more,
uh,
more betterest. Sounds like fun. Smelly would say. Yeah. Um, adding shit to the website so you already have that it's just gonna make that more uh more
betterest sounds like fun smelly would say yeah um and then as far as like uh so you keep mentioning
this orange sunshine yeah okay um kind of going back to like bigger stronger faster where you guys
were documenting things but because it was a documentary so you were kind of safe
uh do you feel like there's anything you should be like worried about as far as
like,
not necessarily promoting this drug,
but like,
you know,
you know,
our demographic,
some young people do listen to this podcast.
Well,
so what's your stance on that?
So it's hard to get first of all.
So like,
first of all,
nobody can get orange sunshine.
It's like really hard to,
I mean,
not nobody.
I know how to get it,
but I think most people can't get it anyway.
So I'm not too worried about that.
But what I am, you know, what I would say is just be cautious with anything.
You know, like I said already, don't take these things if you're under 25 years old
and your brain isn't formed.
If you choose to do that, that's your own fault.
You've been warned.
You've been told, you know, you know um you know i these things are
scheduled and illegal but i feel like all that stuff is dropping down and people don't really
care about it that much and so i i just have never been afraid of the law as far as that stuff goes
like and don't get your information from one person you know look it up like research it like
you're really considering it um you know, look in a couple different areas.
So you're more until you feel comfortable.
The other movie to watch, I think people should watch the Sunshine Makers and they should also watch Fantastic Fungi because that's got a lot of great information about mushrooms.
But what you realize is that mushrooms are sort of the source of all life and that maybe mushrooms are the reason why, you know, our brains grew.
Maybe the reasons why we were good hunters and all these things about like.
So this is another thing that people need to realize, because I got into a kind of a fun argument with Pastor Jim or my dad's pastor.
And now I don't even know it was an argument.
We're just talking about it.
And he was like, well, Chris, you know, sometimes you open those windows and you you can't come back out.
You know, you open those worlds and you can't come back out of You open those worlds and you can't come back out of it.
You know every single religion is based on psychedelics, right?
Uh-oh.
Yeah, every single religion has basis in psychedelics.
So once you say that, it's like, what are you going to say?
Christianity, the one that we, you know.
Burning bush.
Yeah, it's all psychedelics.
And so it's like it's really hard to deny that these things are part of our history, part of our heritage, part of who we are as human beings.
And we need to embrace it rather than run away from it.
One thing I'm curious about, I know we've kind of harped on this, but when I think of some of the stuff you're talking about, as far as creativity is concerned, right?
It makes sense.
And it makes sense that you will be able to maybe figure out things or certain dots are going to connect.
But the one thing that kind of, I guess, makes me apprehensive is what if you feel that, oh, now, if I really want to get there, I have to do this to be creative.
Like every time?
Every time. Because I feel like if it unlocks some things that are so good and you feel so.
So you think that right
and you're like i want to do this every day and at first i did want to do it every day i want to
do mushrooms every day i need more mushrooms let's get it i was telling everybody you got to try
mushrooms right they start to lose their luster like it's just weird they they're not addictive
drugs at all okay and so if you have an addictive personality and maybe you get into that realm,
but I have a very addictive personality. I just never feel like I need to take them again. You
know, I have, um, so actually, you know, Lauren and Lauren's my, my ex-girlfriend and she's here
right now. Even she just popped into the room. So she was so afraid of doing psychedelics,
but she wanted to do them because of trauma.
And that's why I think most people, you know, should look into them.
If you have trauma in your life, you have some.
So she was dyslexic, dyslexic, learning disabled, all grown up.
Teachers told her she wasn't smart enough.
She wasn't good enough, you know, whatever.
And that really just kind of killed her, you know, like and she ended up graduating graduating from college from Temple University and all these things that she could be really proud of.
You could be really proud of that.
But when somebody when you're like four years old tells you that you're not smart, you believe it and you carry that through your whole life.
And it makes you just hate school, makes you hate learning.
It turns you off to learning.
So I when I first did him, the first person I thought about was like, oh, my God, what if Lauren did this?
This would like completely change everything.
It would change the way she thinks about things, the perspective on life that she has.
And it was like, so we did it.
And as soon as she put it in her mouth, because you have to let it dissolve under your tongue, LSD, like dissolved under her tongue.
And she started crying because she was so scared of what was going to happen.
And then like two hours later, she was the happiest person I've ever seen.
And she was so grateful that she did it.
And she's kind of like she so she only did a little dose
and she got to feel what it was like.
And she went on a walk and she saw a cat
and she boiled it down to all of her fear and all of her
anxiety was a stupid little cat because she hates cats. And so that was the anxiety and fear that
she'd been carrying around her whole life. And you have this whole big, beautiful world,
but this fucking cat, you know, and it's just going to, and she's like, you know what? The
cat's going to be there no matter what I do.
It's always going to be there.
But my, my goal and my mission now is just avoid the cat.
The cat is those teachers.
The cat is all the negativity, the cat, you know, it's going to always be there, but just walk right past it.
And it's so insignificant to this world.
It doesn't matter, you know?
And I think, you know, Mark had a lot of that stuff growing up with, uh, you know, being put in different classes and told, oh, you're not smart or whatever. And
he goes and invents a slingshot. And it's probably the smartest person, literally the smartest
person I know in the fitness industry, not because he's got a PhD or something, but because he's
rational about every single thing that he does and he thinks it through all the way. And I think a
lot of people don't do that, you know? And so I think that, um, he's the most balanced, like one of the most balanced
people, you know? And so it's like, I don't know. I think these drugs are really, really powerful
to help people. And I don't see them as being negative or addictive. Now she wants to do it
again, right? Yeah. She's shaking her head. Yes. So she wants to do it again, right? Yeah, she's shaking her head yes. So she wants to do it again,
but I think after she does it again, she'll be cool.
Like she hasn't been jonesing for it.
You know what I mean?
She's just like, hey, when you get more of it,
like let's do a bigger dose so I can really experience it.
Also, the other thing that you need to know,
this is great.
I had a friend gave me two pills of orange sunshine and I'm an idiot.
He's like, whatever you do do don't take it two days
in a row because take it two days in a row you just won't feel it the next day and it was so
good that i was like you know what i don't think this guy knows what he's talking about i'm gonna
take it the next day didn't feel a single thing you need to wait about a month in between taking
lsd before you can feel it again so how do you get addicted to something you have to take every month?
You know, it's like, like every month, here we go.
I got to get, you know, it's like, you just, that addiction doesn't work that way.
Addiction's a 24 hour clock, you know, kind of, we have to have more and more.
Yeah.
Addiction is a real easy thing though, too, because it kind of part of the definition
of it is just that it interrupts, you know, the stuff that you normally plan to do.
It interrupts your job and interrupts your relationship.
So being high can certainly do that.
And so even just if you're high occasionally, but I think to your point,
it's something that you do when you have time,
you don't do it necessarily when you're,
you got a day of work ahead of you or all those different things.
You have to kind of take your time with it.
And people should be way more apprehensive about having a beer than they should a psychedelic.
Oh, yeah.
In my opinion.
And, you know, like when I actually looked up deaths from mushrooms and all this stuff,
actually, just in psychedelics in general, you look up deaths.
Remember in bigger, stronger, faster.
I show that list.
Well, the death chart for psychedelics, you have a better chance of getting struck by
lightning, which is like, yeah, really, really hard. Yeah. So that's kind of crazy, though. You know psychedelics, you have a better chance of getting struck by lightning, which is like really, really hard.
Yeah.
So that's kind of crazy, though.
You know, like, wait a second.
I thought they killed all these people.
No alcohol, tobacco and food, you know, and poor sleep and poor hygiene, you know, and those kind of things.
That's what's killing people being lazy.
Is it like is it expensive?
Like how much is like a like one of those capsules that you were just talking about?
I traded a couple Piedmontese stakes for it.
I mean, I don't know.
So there's gold?
Well, people.
So it's two flank stakes about?
Yeah.
People, people, like I said, the people I know are like, it's all about love.
And so that's how I get it.
I don't know how other people get it.
And I'm not going to like answer people's DMS about where to get it.
Cause I,
I just don't know.
I literally,
I know,
I know like two people,
three people that have gotten me different psychedelics.
And hopefully this podcast brings in a flood of people going,
Hey bro,
I got you because it really,
no,
I,
what I would like to do,
I want to bring in,
you know,
I want to be able to help you guys.
I want you to do it.
So now, you know, you guys have a able to help you guys. I want you to do it. So now, you know,
you guys have a great podcast and a beautiful platform here to spread good information. And
I'm not saying the information we're going to spread is everybody do mushrooms. But I say is
like, if you have experience with it and you have experience and Mark has experience with it,
we can actually now start rationally talking about this on a bigger level and take it somewhere
better, you know, rather than it just be, you and take it somewhere better, you know,
rather than it just be,
you know,
okay.
I,
you know,
I know a little bit about this and I'm not going to help anybody. I just think the purpose of these podcasts actually help people.
Hopefully I'm going to try some psilocybin for sure.
Definitely.
We'll hook you up.
There's ones called penis envy.
Oh,
they actually look like a penis.
The mushrooms actually,
I thought it was a picture of in SEMA on the cover.
So there's
all sorts of different fun uh in a banana hammock yeah fun mushrooms if you guys want to look more
into mushrooms and there's a lot of mushrooms that aren't uh psychedelic that do a lot of
like a lot of other good things like lion's mane is really good for pain and a lot of these are
good for like depression and stuff that don't you don't actually feel them but they definitely help
and there's a lot of studies to back it up turkey tail mushrooms help a lot of
people with cancer and i hate saying that because whenever something's for cancer it's like oh you
know people like fuck you it's you know it's not i'm not saying it's going to cure cancer but
paul stamets and people should look up paul stamets.com s-t-a-m-e-t-s or just look up paul
stamets in general listen to him on Joe Rogan he's amazing
he's sort of the mushroom king
and he talks a lot about it on Rogan
guys like
Graham Hancock talk about
Graham Hancock's the guy that talks about all the ancient cities
and stuff on Rogan but he also talks
about Ayahuasca and he's very knowledgeable
on Ayahuasca. Have you done that?
I have not done Ayahuasca so the difference between
I'm glad you asked the difference between Ayahuasca have you done that i have not done ayahuasca so the difference between that's i'm glad yes the difference between ayahuasca which is a natural form of dmt and
then dmt which rogan and mike tyson talk about all the time the difference between like those
um two things in ibogaine is they say that ibogaine is like an inward journey so you
journey within yourself to figure out what the hell's wrong with you and fix it. And with ayahuasca, you like journey out into the world and find things that are like you want to change in the world or you want.
Like it's more of I don't know how to explain because I haven't done it, but they say it's more outward experience.
But also I hear great stories of DMT where people say that they did a DMT trip.
It only lasts 15 minutes.
That's kind of the beauty of DMT.
Not ayahuasca, but like actual smoking DMT.
It only lasts like 15 minutes, but people are like, dude, I smoked DMT,
and I spent four months at a job that I hated.
Like in the trip, like four months I had a wife, I had two kids,
and they have no kids and no wife.
They have all these experiences.
They said it felt like four months.
Yeah.
And Joe Rogan talks about this joker that's flipping him off and telling him he's a fraud and all this stuff like that.
And it really affected him.
But when it came out of it, he's like, don't be a fraud.
Just be honest.
Be yourself.
You know?
