Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey everybody, welcome to Mark Bell's Power Project Podcast. Today's episode of the podcast is brought to you by our homies over at FreeSleeve. Last night in SEMA, I was cooking up some dinner and my elbow's been bugging me. You know, I'm benching, my elbow's just always kind of messing with me. But what I did last night is I threw on an elbow sleeve and I was able to cook while still, you know, using some cold therapy. How yourself have you been using cold therapy? Yeah, no, I love this FreeSleeve because after like jujitsu or powerlifting or bodybuilding type training, I like to wait a few hours, especially after that my joints are feeling
Starting point is 00:00:30 kind of achy. Right before I go to bed, I put on the free sleep on my elbows and knees and it just feels great to be able to move around while getting that reduction in pain. And this is kind of an off thing that nobody really thinks about. When your body temperature comes down at night, it's actually easier to fall asleep. So it actually helps you go to sleep a little bit better, which is, again, great for recovery. Triple whammy. So check it out.
Starting point is 00:00:53 Upgrade your ice packs today by heading over to freesleeve.com. That's F-R-E-E-Z-E-S-L-E-E-V-E dot com. At checkout, enter promo code POWER25 for 25% off your order and free shipping on all domestic orders. I actually did have in Seamus Mike off again, trying to shut him out, trying to shut him up, shut him down. He seems pretty shy, but once he gets to know him, he talks a lot, doesn't he? Actually, that's generally how it goes. That's generally how it goes.
Starting point is 00:01:23 Now we can't, now we can't stop him unless we mute his mic. Hey, how about this freaking Harley Davidson charcuterie board that we got? That's so sick. It's amazing. Harley Davidson. So our boy Brian. Brian. Thanks, Brian.
Starting point is 00:01:39 Yeah, so he's been actually through the podcast. It's funny. It's it's so cool to, Oh, there you go. Uh, to hear him talk about it on the, uh,
Starting point is 00:01:49 in the chat. Cause he was just in here and he's just said he was from Fairfield or Vacaville. One of the two. Cause I think that's where Harley Davidson is. I thought you were going to say that's where the Chukotu reward came from. Well, I mean,
Starting point is 00:01:59 kind of, but I was just like, yeah, dude, get your ass down here. Like you're close enough. Like just come, come train here. And he did. And now he's just like, yeah, dude, get your ass down here. Like, you're close enough. Like, just come train here. And he did.
Starting point is 00:02:07 And now he's just like, he's like a staple on the team now. You know, it's so cool. But yeah, he hooked us up with that. And then look at this. He gave my son, what is it called? A beanie and booties. Harley Davidson. Oh, that's sick.
Starting point is 00:02:20 That's so dope. So, Brian, dude, thank you so much, man. That was way too kind of you. Your son's not even here yet. I know. He's getting gifts. Yeah. That's what's going on with that.
Starting point is 00:02:29 Are you guys like, uh, you guys got a room for him and shit? You got crib and all that. Uh, so it's got his own crib. Yeah, he, he, he does, but it's like not at the house. It's going to be like, it's from my nephew that never used it. So we're going to just like just like yeah we'll take that one so he does have a room it's not ready but i mean if he came like today like it would be fine you know but it's not like there's still shit on the floor and it's kind of a probably too personal
Starting point is 00:02:58 question but did you or did you not purchase him a peck deck yet i got him a bicep board okay good there we go that's a good start yeah baby bicep boards we do now we're working that upper body no legs just upper body it's it's a trip man we we went to the labor and delivery department now i know what it's called um because like contractions are happening and like it's just, we need to go check up on this. How soon are we expecting this? The way it's going, I'm pretty sure he's going to come early, but he's not. His due date was the January 28th. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:36 So I had some contractions this morning. When you text, Mark was like, I'm on my way to the gym. I'm like, I'm taking a big old dump i like woke up because i had to poop that's only happened like five times in my life that happened one time like in the middle of the night and i texted everybody i'm like people need to know about this this is a phenomenon it was like two in the morning one time but this morning i think it was more like 4 30 or something i was halfway awake i think yeah. Yeah. And I was like, oh, my God. What did you eat yesterday?
Starting point is 00:04:09 I had an icon meal on the way home. I did have a, what do you call it? A Quest Pop-Tart. And that might have triggered some stuff. You know, because of the sugar alcohols. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've just never woken up because I had to poop. It's just, that's very interesting.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Isn't it? I never thought about that. Yeah. Never. I've woke up because that's a P, but I've never woken. Poop has never woken me up out of my sleep. I woke up one time and took a monster dump at like two o'clock in the morning.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Wow. And I just had to report it to everybody. So I wanted everybody to like, understand like that. There's some shit going on. Like if I die, yeah, then you'll, you'll know why.
Starting point is 00:04:47 If you guys are listening, just like in the comments section, let us know. Does that happen to you? Has that ever happened to you? Have you woken up because you had to poop? Because for me, that's very abnormal. I've never thought about that. This might be another show. Just talking about this whole phenomenon because Jessica brought it up one time about standing up
Starting point is 00:05:05 and wiping your butt oh god versus trying to do it like seated and versus you know that became such a huge deal yeah yeah okay pause what do you do i gotta stand up to get it all to get it all right wow i am there we go sorry guys i'm so sorry yeah that was well because explain explain i mean i don't am i out of balance and saying that was very african is that wrong is that wrong because i can't do that i don't know how to do that i had to make a beat i think that was like i think you were born with that andrew can you do that on cue like that uh no see it just happened it was instinct but okay so wait real quick because the podcast we had today is really meaty but that what you just said right there you need to explain why like why is it that you prefer standing up i just
Starting point is 00:06:03 feel like i can get in there better get cleaner get you know you gotta kind of like spread the butt cheeks apart and he has a big ass you gotta remember this yeah like this isn't some tiny bum where you like right yes that's how you clean better okay andrew you want to explain i i mean i the odds are way against me it's it's two to one i i just well you know on instagram on the voting poll sitting down one yeah yeah but you can change andrew that's what we're trying to tell you i i have you know it doesn't heat but i have a bidet so i just you know shoot water up there and yeah it does a really good job but i just my thing thing is, yeah, if, uh, well,
Starting point is 00:06:46 pre-bidet is wipes, but still sitting down though. Did you also stand up pre-bidet? But the thing is, if you're standing up, I feel like your, your cheeks are going to. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:55 Yeah. There's some math that happens. Yes. There's some math that goes on there. Yeah. So then I guess you have to force it out, but then you're just, you're there.
Starting point is 00:07:03 But you don't, you don't lock the hips out. You don't just stand up all the way. It's but then you're just, you're there. But you don't have to lock the hips out. You don't have to stand up all the way. It's not like you're finishing off a deadlift. Well, with my back, I have to kind of tighten up my core. You got to get erect. I mean, when you get off the toilet, you don't squeeze your cheeks together and do that and then pull them apart. You definitely don't do that when you're sitting.
Starting point is 00:07:24 You keep yourself open yeah when you're sitting down you're just i don't know about you guys but i'm in there forever trying to clean up like i don't want to leave anything behind so that's that's my issue with uh if i have to poop like kind of close to bed i'm just like no like can you hold it nope i can't and so like last night i was like damn it like this is gonna set me back like at least half an hour because i'm just gonna be sitting here just wiping non-stop sitting down wiping sitting down i got no i got no bidets in tahoe so i've been just wiping and wiping and wiping with baby wipes poor thing i got stacks on the stacks of dude dude wipes which i've never even tried before but i my kids for some, wanted me to take them to Walmart.
Starting point is 00:08:06 Oh, my God. That was terrible. Where the peasants are. Oh, my God. They hate being, my kids hate being rich. It's terrible. They're like, take us to Walmart, Dad. I'm like, you don't want to know what it's like.
Starting point is 00:08:20 We need to feel normal right now. I'm in there just crying crying walking down the aisles oh my god walmart was insane this weekend yeah this weekend yeah it was just it was too much yeah i didn't go walmart costco all those places are just mad houses at this time of year and you don't know like even the day after christmas is like people returning shit yeah stuff's wild everywhere you go and then it just seems like no matter where you are in walmart like i'm gonna i gotta go pick up some deodorant whatever you stop for five seconds and then there's like 30 people around you like what the fuck this is the most popular aisle in the whole
Starting point is 00:09:00 store yeah and then you're like okay now i'm gonna go i don't know go get some whatever doesn't matter you show up there and they're like they all follow you back you ever been inside like a super walmart before it's fucking gigantic i think there's one right here yeah well i think almost all the airplane in there dude that one in anatomis that mark lobe liner was talking about oh yeah that one's terrible it is it's really bad that's my home walmart yeah that one's no good yeah i would travel anywhere else yeah it's not a good walmart at all it's it's hit and miss actually it's always mess with walmart i've never been to a great walmart that's like oh this is shiny or clean it's kind of weird it's like they have uh you know they got food in these places now too like target like a super target will have food and they have pizza hut inside of target yeah it's wild
Starting point is 00:09:50 see target it's delicious target you know you're you're you're moving up yeah moving on up yeah you pay the extra whatever target tax on top of everything just so that way the floor is not full of diapers yep all right so a lot of people we hear a lot of people talk about you know how terrible 2020 was and um obviously you know a lot of people a lot of people did die i think the stats kind of show that there that more people died in 2020 than any year um, which is that's pretty crazy. And, you know, this virus flying around has caused a lot of controversy and a lot of a lot of political statements on like every single thing on whether to get a vaccine,
Starting point is 00:10:37 not to get a vaccine, whether we should have one this quickly or whether we should take more time with it to wear a mask, to not wear a mask. Should we be more quarantine? Should we have stricter rules uh should we have uh more rules less rules no rules you know you just kind of seen the gamut of a lot of different things uh come to life in 2020 including conspiracy theories i think uh have been um maybe like believed in a little more or at least people are like maybe like maybe some of those ideas that i thought were from lunatic crazy people maybe they're not so looney tune maybe there's some truth to some of it and uh i think you know a lot of people have also taken 2020 as kind of an excuse to let off the gas pedal and to kind of
Starting point is 00:11:26 give up on stuff, you know, because unfortunately, a lot of people have lost their jobs. A lot of people have lost family members. But I mean, we still got to figure out a way to move forward. We got to figure out a way to, I don't know, to continue to make progress and to just try to have the best life that we can. And when I try to think about the way I've lived my life in 2020, I really, I'm appreciative of a lot of the things that happened. You know, my mother died, but she didn't die of COVID, but she did die in 2020. And I would have regretted if I stayed away from her because she's older and because she, you know, she does have preexisting conditions, diabetes, obesity, things like that. I would have regretted that.
Starting point is 00:12:15 I was glad that I was able to be with her and be around her and the rest of my family and stuff like that. So that's a decision that we made. But I guess my main point here is that we can still decide to do things we can still decide to be proactive we can still decide um things are different now but they're not so crazy i mean like let's i find myself i complain way too much about it i gotta be honest i i'm i'm totally guilty and like, my freedoms haven't been impacted that much. I have to worry about what too often the year. Just, yeah, the year wearing a mask, not being able to go to restaurants and stuff.
Starting point is 00:12:53 But it's like really what has changed, you know, not not that much has changed for me personally. I don't like the fact that I guess if I do have a legitimate complaint, I don't like the fact that you can't see other people as much. You can't see each other's faces as much. You can't see people smiling as much. And there's definitely a huge fallout from this whole thing, from a mental aspect of it. But somebody else could argue, hey, look, this is warranted. We need to do this. So I can care less either way on that part of it but
Starting point is 00:13:26 it that part to me um is important that's an important piece of the puzzle but i guess for today i think we should maybe talk about you know trying not to blame 2020 for anything and and trying to figure out let's let's almost forget about 2020 and let's start to think about 2021 because it might be more of the same. And if it's more of the same, let's not play the blame game and let's try to figure out a way to move forward and to make some progress. Yeah. So I had a thought when I was like walking and I was like, wow, that's actually very, very legitimate. So this morning we were supposed to be here at 645, actually six 15, but I got here at seven. Right. And when you texted me ETA, I was like 10 minutes, I slept through my alarm. Right. But it's not necessarily my alarms fault. It's, it's my fault.
Starting point is 00:14:18 Just like how literally when I hear individuals say, oh yeah, I wasn't able to do this or I just 2020 stopped me from being able to do this in terms of my fitness and this, it's just like, it wasn't 2020s fault. There are people out here killing it as far as getting in shape, killing it in terms of changing their fitness. And they don't have access to a gym and they don't have access to weights. They have access to their body and, you know, just doing things outside. But they take that responsibility. They go out and they do what they need to do. And that's the big aspect of things, because at the end of the day, we don't know if 2021 is going to be better. We know that there's a vaccine coming out, but we didn't expect a global pandemic. So what the fuck might happen next year? I mean, it might not be a pandemic. It might just be something else that is way worse.
Starting point is 00:15:03 happen next year. I mean, it might not be a pandemic. It might just be something else that is way worse. Right. So then at the end of the day is, are we going to blame 2021 for everything that we're not able to do? Are we going to figure out how to work in that situation, take responsibility and move forward trying to do something? Yeah. Some people are saying this will last till 2023, 2024. And the economy might not recover totally until around that time too. Yeah. You know, it could, uh, it could take a very long time. And then how do you safeguard yourself against, uh, some of these things?
Starting point is 00:15:31 I think you have to look at what's controllable. Like, what do you, what do you have control over? You don't have control over the gym shutting down. Um, however you do have control over participating. If there's a petition,
Starting point is 00:15:44 if there's something that you can get involved in on a local level to help local businesses stay open, um, there's, there's ways that you can get involved that are like legitimate and you're not, you know, throwing rocks at people or anything crazy like that. Um, on top of that, you can also just say, okay, well, the gyms are closed. That's okay. I'll going to go walk. The streets aren't shut down, luckily.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Walk, run, push-ups, squats, I mean, body weight exercises. There's things that people can never take away from you, and that's your own mindset. And so you can decide what it is that you want to do and how you want to do it. And let's try to rid ourselves of saying, well, that's shut down. Let's try to just find solutions. When you see it, when a hurdle comes your way or something comes your way, you know, just recognize like, okay, well, I'm just going to shift gears. I don't know if you,
Starting point is 00:16:44 I don't know if how many people listening have seen pumping iron, but Arnold talks about his car and he's like, my car could be like on fire. It could get stolen. I can't remember exact quote that he said, you know, it could be happening right now and I could just care less. He's like, I'm training.
Starting point is 00:16:55 I'm focused on that. And I'm, he's focused in his point is he's focused in on what he can control. Somebody's stealing his car. He doesn't have any control over that. That might happen. Some might get in there, hotwire the car and take off with it.
Starting point is 00:17:07 He has control over how he looked at that time for the Olympia and to become a legend. And I think we all have that mindset and think about the interpretation that you have of 2020 versus somebody else's interpretation. You might have a relative or a friend that's close to you that has kind of fallen off the map and they drink all the time and they're just to 2020. You know, they're blaming 2020, right? You also might have maybe it's yourself or maybe it's somebody else that, you know, on the total opposite spectrum, they may have lost their job, but they started their own company or they, you know, uh, they, they got another job somewhere else and they're
Starting point is 00:17:52 flourishing and they're super happy and their, their family life is great and all these other things are great. So what's the difference between the two? If we all, if we live in the same country, the main difference is just a decision, just a choice. So like, what are the things that you can control exactly like uh there's a few people come to mind in my life that i know that are waiting for the vaccine as the saving grace um still out of shape they're still overweight but they're
Starting point is 00:18:16 waiting for the vaccine and you know at the end of the day it's like you have all this time you had a year you had your life right but this year i think has been a year that has kind of uh woken a lot of individuals up to what being out of shape can do what uh having bad health habits can do um in terms of you know being open to getting a virus like this and actually having it be deadly because I mean, yeah, people with underlying conditions like asthma, things that are kind of unavoidable. Okay. You, you maybe can't avoid that, but if you're overweight, if you drink a lot, if you don't take care of yourself, you don't sleep and you're just not in shape, that's something
Starting point is 00:19:00 that you very well can change. And this year has been a year that has shown, Hey, if you don't change that, if you get this, it could be deadly. But if you just lose some weight and get in better shape and get healthier, if you get this, you're probably going to most likely going to be okay. Right.
Starting point is 00:19:16 And a lot of people this year just didn't make the decision to change. They made the decision to wait. They made the decision to keep the habits, but instead complain about the Corona virus, not necessarily take ownership of what's going on with themselves. Right. Whereas I've seen a lot of people also make massive changes, make massive changes without a gym, going out, walking, doing exercises at home, dropping a lot of weight and being in a healthy sphere of their life yeah and i can't remember any time and at least you know in recent memory when like um people's health in regards to like their fitness was like at the forefront of like most conversations as far i mean maybe not so much on like you know mainstream media like they was like never
Starting point is 00:19:58 really discussed about you know having a healthier diet with less underlying issues and all this other stuff was like you know the root cause of why people were dying. But I just remember I had seen somebody, either they tweeted it or they posted on Instagram or something that for the first time ever, me being a fitness enthusiast wasn't weird. It was like, oh shit, like, damn, you actually, you had it right this whole time. It was like, yeah, that's really, if we're going to take one positive out of all that, that's, like, damn, you actually, you had it right this whole time. It was like, yeah, that's really, if we're going to take one positive out of all that, that's definitely one of them, right?
Starting point is 00:20:33 Yeah, it wouldn't be that weird to see somebody like doing lunges down the street. Oh yeah, absolutely. Walking down the street. I mean, you don't see it that commonly still, but you would just, you would get it at this point and you'd be like, oh yeah, cool. You know, I've, I've seen people before, like just at like Starbucks or in a coffee shop to start doing some squats before. And you're like, that is,
Starting point is 00:20:50 that's different. You know, like that's a little weird, but I think in these times you'd be like, Hey man, like get after it, wherever you can after it, you know,
Starting point is 00:20:56 wherever you can, or we can sneak in a couple reps, trick and go for it. There's this guy that walks around with a 45 pound barbell around the block. That's great. He'll go back to his garage and do some squats and he'll run around like this guy. He's he, what in quarantine though?
Starting point is 00:21:10 He did that shit so much. I'd see him every single day, walk around the block with his 45 pound bar. What a pain in the ass. The weights on it. It was great. Yeah. What a pain in the ass,
Starting point is 00:21:20 right? Yeah. That's just hardcore, man. It's great. You know what? Real quick, go take
Starting point is 00:21:25 a lap with a barbell right why is walking up steep hills so difficult real quick altitude i don't know i went i went with uh ryan and um ryan and carlos we went with auburn and did this hike and the first part of the hike was super steep right and ryan you know fucking ryan he's just gonna just just go right and i was behind him fucking ryan he's just gonna just go right and i was behind him and carlos is over here also like a fucking billy goat or something that's a great way to put it yeah right it's a billy goat yeah and carlos and me are over here suffering i'm just thinking in my head we're gonna roll and do all this shit but walking up a steep hill it's like god what is that it gets to be annoying after a while too like if it's
Starting point is 00:22:06 going on for like more than 10 minutes you're like this fucking sucks fucking ryan was like oh yeah guys it's just going to be 20 more minutes of this 20 minutes later about 10 more minutes it's like no but it was great it's it's brutal and then when you're done doing that and you start to like walk back downhill you're like getting sore from like walking uphill, which is kind of pathetic. Cause you're like, why am I getting sore from walking uphill? But going downhill is kind of tough because you got to kind of put the
Starting point is 00:22:31 brakes on the whole time. And all you feel is your, your knees killing you. But yeah, walking up hills, brutal, like, you know,
Starting point is 00:22:37 doing it in a Tahoe at altitude is really hard. Plus it's cold. So you really can't take like good deep breaths. That should remind you of new york yeah oh yeah for sure yeah it takes takes me back yeah we've been having we had an awesome time up there i'm still going back and forth between uh hanging out up there but it's great like making snowballs and making you know a snowman and doing uh you know doing some sledding and and things like that and just watching my kids
Starting point is 00:23:05 experience that they haven't experienced that much of that before and then my nieces and nephews and stuff like that you know going down this uh hill and it was just really cool because down the street like maybe 10 minutes away there's a area that they that they kind of paved with a bunch of snow they took a bunch of snow and they they made like these little hills and stuff. And it just looks pathetic compared to what we have in our backyard. So my kids are like, my kids are like, Hey,
Starting point is 00:23:30 what are they doing over there? And they're like, Oh, they're like, that hill looks really small. I was like, yeah, we have almost like a cliff that we're going down in our backyard.
Starting point is 00:23:38 The kids almost come smacking right into the house. They come down there so fast, but geez, yeah, it's been, it's been a lot of fun, but going, you know, going on some walks out there has been really tough i did uh i did a hike out there too and and you know the ground's you know slippery and it's kind of it's kind of sketchy
Starting point is 00:23:54 here and there you weren't using normal shoes or were you using yeah no i have like hiking boots and stuff like that and um but yeah it's still it's i mean it's not that sketchy but but it's not it's not the safest thing in the world but it's not that sketchy, but it's not, it's not the safest thing in the world, but it's, it's fun, but you can't breathe worth of shit just because you're going uphill. And because of the, uh, the altitude, I don't know if I'll ever get used to going uphill. It's, it reminds me of the, uh, the stair master. Like it just always burns your legs.
Starting point is 00:24:19 Like, I'm like, what about for you? Like when, I mean, you're in great shape. What about when you do, um, like I see you sometimes use the bike in the gym. Does the bike always just burn the fuck out of your legs? That's the thing. It's like, do you ever get used to it? You get used to it. You get used to it.
Starting point is 00:24:33 Like, uh, I was, I was noticing the other day cause I came in here because Chris is the day before Christmas. No, it was Christmas morning. Yeah. So I was doing the bike again and it's like after like after about 10 minutes if you have a pace you just you just get used to it Yeah, it's weird, but that burn just stays. It's just this like light burn. That's continuously in your legs the whole time It's annoying doesn't go away. It's just annoying but it doesn't get worse. No, right? It's not worse. It's not terrible He's got not like quit on it. Mm-hmm, even though you want to yeah
Starting point is 00:25:03 You could go for you go for the honesty at that point almost as long as you want it's just when do you want to stop but it doesn't get worse which is nice yeah there's something special about feeding into that though and there's something special about like wanting to do more of that and and wanting to get the reward from it i think it's really easy to experience that and it'd be like i'm pretty uncomfortable and this is pretty annoying. And you're like, I'm going to do it for another minute. And then you just stop. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:30 I think it's really easy to give up on it. And if you can figure out a way to stay in it and to get a good amount of work done, I think, you know, over time, I mean, I don't think I know over time you get addicted to it. And you're like, I want to have that feeling again. And when you don't do that on a given day, you're kind of irritable. Like you're not yourself. You're kind of a dick. You know, you're just different that day. And it becomes so important to you to make sure that you get that done.
Starting point is 00:25:57 I think, you know, we hear people talk about financial freedom and everybody in some way wants to be rich. financial freedom and everybody in some way wants to be rich. But a lot of times I don't think people want to put the time and effort in to do all the things necessary to get there. The same thing is true with your body. Like people are like, oh, fuck, you know, I'd be great to have a six pack or, but the sacrifice that comes with that and the amount of, uh, food that you have to say no to and the amount of drinks that you have to not drink on the weekend and so forth. You're just like, ah, like I'd rather just I'd rather just kind of stay the way that
Starting point is 00:26:31 I am. And I think that's why people do stay the way that they are. But I think if if you if during 2020, you know, let's say this, you know, pandemic has gone on for like a year, basically. But let's just say that you didn't know what to do about it for a while. And so the last six or eight months, you could have made a decision to learn more. You could have made a decision to read more. You could have made a decision to exercise more.
Starting point is 00:26:57 You could have lost some body fat in that six-month time frame. I would even go as far to say you could have very easily lost 10% of your body weight, which a lot of studies show that when you lose 10% of your body weight, you get the majority of health benefits. So even if you weighed 300 pounds, if you got down, if you lost what, 30 pounds, got down to 270, which is very doable when you're that big to lose that amount of weight in six months is fairly simple. You could have made a lot of progress towards that. And then when it comes to wealth and some of these other things, and the reason why I'm bringing up money and the reason
Starting point is 00:27:35 why I'm bringing up your body is because the healthier that you are, the easier it's going to be for your body to fend off these various viruses that might be causing us problems, right? And just illness in general. And then the same thing is true with your finances. The more financially strong you are, the more financially stable you are, or the more financial freedom that you have gained, the longer you can go with things being fucked up with the economy, like you don't have to. I don't have.
Starting point is 00:28:11 I don't have one friend that has really been sweating it. That is well off. They're like, man, like, we don't know what's going on. This shit sucks, but we're going to go online more. We're going to do this more. We're going to do that more. And then when I ask almost all of them, there's one that comes to mind that I can think of that took a pretty good hit, but it's like you went from 3 million to 2 million. You know what I mean? Like,
Starting point is 00:28:39 you know, it's, it's, it's a hit and you do have mouths to feed and you do have employees. So any sort of hit like that can be a really big deal. Cause it's not, you're not taking that money home. You know, it's just like what your company's bringing in. But for the most part, all these people, what they have in common is they just shifted gears a little bit and they just kind of moved into doing something slightly different. They made a choice. And now you can kind of say, well, okay, well, it's easy for them because they're ahead. Well, that's what we're trying to share with you today. Figure out a way to get ahead right now. You might be buried. You might be kind of under it.
Starting point is 00:29:07 You might be heavy. You might be broke. I was those things as well. To start to gain momentum, it might take a while. You might be talking in 2032 about how you started making changes in 2020 because you finally said, or 2021, because you finally said, fuck it, i'm going to stop blaming everything else and everybody else and i'm going to take full responsibility for everything hey real talk i know a guy kevin he's 23 24 it's kevin pack a former client of mine power lifter back in 2018 i think in 2019 he decided to learn how to do drop shipping online with random amazon items which he you, he, you know, he didn't really store in his place, but he just learned how to do it in 2019. Had a rough six months. And this year was his first six figure profit at 23 years old.
Starting point is 00:29:56 Wow. 2020. By learning how to do drop shipping online. Like this, it's not like he created a product. shipping online like this it's not like he created a product he's literally just learned the process of selling things on amazon learned the process of being a distributor right he doesn't take being the middleman and this was his first six-figure profit year like he he he profited six figures on his own so 23 and he just learned that there's so many things yeah there is money to be made everywhere and even if you just look in one category one company you look at amazon there's like thousands
Starting point is 00:30:31 upon thousands of ways to make money through amazon you or i or any or any one of us actually can be an amazon influencer we can have an amazon i have halfway set up like an amazon cart i never really pushed the button to like make it final, but anything that you use for jujitsu, anything that you use, um, element, any of this stuff that you use, um, you know, you get a tiny percentage of a tiny percentage of something, but so what, you know, and it's, there's so many different ways to, uh, to make money. If you use your mind and you really start to think about it and maybe start to think, um, more along the lines of like, well, I don't know what the
Starting point is 00:31:11 next two, three years are going to look like. So I'm not going to open a gym or I'm not going to do, you know, or I'm not going to open a standard gym. Maybe you'd have to open a personal training studio where you can get away with some different things or whatever, but, you know, start to start to think like, where are some areas that you can make money? Where are some areas that you can earn a living? And maybe you can do it while you're sitting on your ass, so to speak. I mean, you still have to work for it. You're always going to have to work for it. But in that guy's case, somebody would look at him now and be like, oh man, well well, he just he doesn't have to really do anything. But he did have to do a lot in the beginning. And maybe it is true.
Starting point is 00:31:49 Maybe he can do a little bit less now, but probably more so what's even probably more true is he's probably working harder than ever to try to figure it out even even better so he can continue to move, continue to move forward. But there's just so many things that you can learn during these times. And we've talked about this before, about like financial literacy, like learning about mortgages, learning about loans, learning about insurance, learning about investing, learning about like, you can, like, I think you've mentioned on the show many times, like people have like some spare time now.
Starting point is 00:32:24 you've mentioned on the show many times, like people have like some spare time now. So, you know, rather than, rather than going on Pornhub all day, you know, go on Pornhub for half the day and, uh, you know, fill, fill your mind with something, uh, that could be useful to you down the road. Um, you know, by looking at how to invest, I mean, there's so many different options in terms of, you know, hopping on the internet and YouTube and so forth. That's one thing I think we had Grant Cardone on and I think also the guy that works with your company. This year has been a, there's been a lot of people that have, I guess, gotten into just investing this year just because of everything that's happened, even myself. And it's not as
Starting point is 00:33:05 hard as people make you think it is. Like it's, it's, it's, you don't, I mean, I'm not out here day trading or anything, which is not what I plan on doing, but like my money has done a lot just by letting it sit in the market. And I, it's not hard. It's just like being patient with it and letting it sit there for a very long time. But that's another thing that like you can learn. There's a lot of great YouTube channels that kind of make it really easy, make it really simple. Get some basic information and get going. And what about starting jujitsu? What about starting some sort of martial art or boxing or something? I mean, I know a lot of the gyms are limited, but there's still there's still a lot of options. I know I have a handful of friends that I know do yoga religiously from home off of an app, you know, so there's a lot of there's a lot more options than I think that we know, I think we get crippled by, you know, the media. And I think if there's anything that's amazing that came from 2020, it should be that we should be very,
Starting point is 00:34:10 very skeptical of the things that we see reported and the things that we see reported over and over and over again. I was watching the news just like maybe like a week ago and I wasn't really paying a lot of attention to it. And it cycled through, like it went through like a second, you know, like replayed or whatever.
Starting point is 00:34:29 And it was just, it just seemed like they were just trying to make all this different stuff stick and nothing was really sticking. You know, there was like these racial reports, there was COVID, there was this, there was that.
Starting point is 00:34:41 And they just seemed like I started to kind of pay attention to it more. And I'm like, this just seems like it's negatively charged. Like there's a negative, there's a negative component to it. And I, I'm not even trying to give it a negative component. I'm trying to look at it, uh, as objectively as I can and trying to just look at it with a very open mind. And I'm like, no, that's actually kind of negative. Like they're not, they're putting a negative spin on it at the end. Even just like something like with Trump. So they say, we just got a hundred million vaccines secured.
Starting point is 00:35:18 You know, they say the United States got a hundred million vaccines secured. states got a hundred million vaccines secured the next thing that they say is that donald trump is denying americans money because he won't sign this new thing to give people 600 bucks they conveniently left out the fact that our president at the moment is still trump right and that he is part of securing those hundred million vaccines. If we're going to shit on him for everything, we got to give him credit every once in a while for some stuff too. Yeah. He is the president during the time of COVID.
Starting point is 00:35:54 So he can get blamed for that. I can, fine. That's, go for it, right? When 9-11 happened, the president at the time got blamed for it too, right? So things happen on your watch and you don't handle it the best way, then you get blamed for it. Right. When 9-11 happened, the president at the time got blamed for it, too. Right. So things happen on your watch and you don't handle it the best way. Then you get blamed for this. The way it goes. That's part of being a leader. But I just thought, like, oh, how convenient, you know, and then even aside from politically. They were like there was an incident where a Hispanic guy got shot by a police officer.
Starting point is 00:36:26 And then they're going to the streets and they're talking to the people and they're talking to guys and people in the community. And we're talking to the people in the community. They were like, yeah, you know, they thought the guy was waving a gun around. The police officer didn't really know. And like so when they actually went into the report it's like oh well there was a lot of danger that was happening and uh this guy was kind of like on the streets and so i'm like at first though they're trying to make you feel like this is a racial thing they're trying to pull you in that way and they're trying to like kind of tug
Starting point is 00:37:02 you along but as they got into it a little deeper they didn't really have much of a i mean it's still a story that somebody got shot and killed but we're horrific we don't want that to happen but i was like man it's just like they just keep throwing they're like throwing jabs at you all day they're like what are you gonna bite on you know all news networks are just like that there's no one that's better cnn is just like fox news except cnn's love fox news is right and they just do the same shit they do the same thing um it's terrible to watch yeah on the note of the cop thing i mean we had ryan tillman on the podcast right if you guys you guys if you're listening if you didn't see that podcast you should but you should also go check out officer tillman's page i have learned a lot about police interaction with just general suspects, white, black, Hispanic, Asian, whatever.
Starting point is 00:37:47 And he he is very, very good at explaining the things that go on or what like what a cop has to think about before shooting an individual. And he explains it all. He explains the danger. And when you see somebody get shot, yeah, you get the chills for a second. But when he explains why that happened and the rationality behind why it might be justified or don't get me wrong, he also has a lot of instances where it's not justified. He explains this cop was fucked up in doing this. You get an understanding on why that job is so dangerous. It changed a lot of my viewpoints there. Do you think some of the things that happened in 2020 with black people and police officers? Do you think it was do you think it is helpful in the long run?
Starting point is 00:38:31 Kind of what has been exposed and kind of what has happened? Yeah. Long run. I think it's a long run. I think it's going to be of benefit. I do because now police police are being even more careful with interaction. now police police are being even more careful with interaction um but it's like the the immediate kickback of it all with the you know defund and abolish the police and and the a-cab like this it's like we're swinging one way we're not going to totally come we're gonna we're gonna find a
Starting point is 00:38:58 middle ground right so i do think it's helpful because, I mean, it is important for police to, I mean, police better. Right. And if we can improve that, you know, even though their job is immensely difficult, if we can improve that somehow, that's going to be good for everybody. But right now we've just swung too far a little bit in one specific direction against them. And we're going to swing back. Like we're going to swing back and it is going to be overall good for us. I think in general, I hope that that's the mark of 2020. I hope it's like, okay, a lot of shit went down in 2020.
Starting point is 00:39:34 That's different. But hopefully we can reassess and reevaluate a lot of the things that we were doing. You know, just as an example, like why was protective gear a thing? Like, you know, I don't know anything about the medical community, but it just seems weird to me that like. I mean, we've we've been on this planet for a long time and we're aware of viruses and we're aware that things can hurt us in this way. And then we don't have masks and stuff like I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm fairly confused by that. You know, maybe somebody can explain it to me, but somebody should have done some math and we should have been a little bit
Starting point is 00:40:17 like, let's just agree. They should have been like at least a little bit more ahead on that. You know, like I can understand if, if you can say, Hey, look, there was no way to predict it. Sure. I'll give you that. But to like totally be behind on that and have to wait months and months for more protective gear and stuff just doesn't, it doesn't add up. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. And I just hope that we can reevaluate a lot of the ways that we handle things. Um, police officers, how they get trained, you know, somebody saying, oh, OK, oh, wow. OK, they only only responsible for firing their gun like once a year.
Starting point is 00:40:50 They only get, you know, another training session in once, you know, whatever, whatever the case is. And they say, OK, well, that's that's not great. We've got to figure out, you know, what's something logical that we can actually make happen. And then. Just extend that out everywhere. I think a lot of people are recognizing that our education system needs to be reevaluated because I mean, businesses are reevaluating the way they do things because other things are the other way of doing things just costs so much money and time.
Starting point is 00:41:21 You got to be here nine to five every day. Yeah. Like, fuck man man that takes a lot of time can i can i be there from 12 to 3 on most days and then you know just check in here and there for some meetings like as long as i'm doing the same amount of work sound good all right sounds great you know think things like that i think hopefully 2020 will be a year where where people are like hey let's just reevaluate how we do a lot of this shit yeah let's do it better so many people are working from home now yeah yeah it's great yeah um but kind of getting back to the uh to the main topic of the episode and specifically
Starting point is 00:41:56 the title and i don't i don't want to pick on this person i've never seen them on the live stream before but basically they're they're just saying it's really easy for us. And specifically you Mark to talk about how everything is everyone or everything is everyone's fault. Like it's your fault. It's not 2020 is fault. He's saying it's easy for you to say that because you weren't shut down. Um, in his opinion, I think it's a, he, uh, you didn't slow down at all. Like you didn't really stop doing anything and I'm just trying to explain it. And this is one of those conversations where no matter what you say, they will have a better answer or like a more doom and gloom answer.
Starting point is 00:42:36 Right. You know, so what do you tell somebody like that? That's like, Oh, what's easy for you, Mark, because you weren't shut down. You know, I do think that luck is a factor in life. You know, I really do believe that. And every once in a while, you just, you know, life throws you some shitty things here and there where you're unlucky. And life throws you some things every once in a while where you're very lucky. Luckily for us here at Slingshot and Super Training, we haven't had to slow down. We haven't had to release anybody.
Starting point is 00:43:11 We've just been growing. And 2020 has been the best year for us. We had the best Black Friday ever, the best November ever. December is going really well. Things are firing on all cylinders. However, um, these are all things that we've been really working towards for a really long time anyway,
Starting point is 00:43:29 and we've spent more money too. So while we are doing well and making more money, we have, uh, been proactive in trying to make sure that that happens. Um, there's other things where, you know, I don't know if you want to call it luck or what you want to call it, but like, you know, years ago I made the gym free, you know, like, so
Starting point is 00:43:52 does making the gym free and having a lot of free content out on the internet, even before I ever sold anything, having years and years of free content, does that somehow like stock up my wellness piggy bank, you know, of like nice things, nice shit that I've done that maybe I'll get some nice shit thrown back my way. Like, I think it does. You know, I'm not too weird about like karma and stuff like that, but I think it's helpful when it comes to this exact situation. Yeah, it would have been terrible if they were like, hey, for whatever reason, you can't have any,
Starting point is 00:44:32 you can't ship anything. You know, then I would really be like scratching my head. I'm trying to figure out how to make money. But as sad as that situation would be, because we would have to let go of employees, we would have to do so many things. We'd have to like kind of shut down a lot of the YouTube stuff. Um, there would be some things that I would still be able to do and I'd be able to, I would hope that I'd be able to shift just from all the things I've learned over the years. But I also understand, like, I'm in a privileged spot. You know, I could say that I earned it or however you want to say it.
Starting point is 00:45:16 But, like, I'm in a good spot to where I would be protected, you know, where I would still be okay. I would still be able to figure things out. But I would just, you know, I would just protected, you know, where I would be, I would still be okay. I would still be able to figure things out. But I would just, you know, I would just shift gears and anybody out there, no matter how bad you have it, it's still a decision. You know, we've talked before on the show about kids that get abused by their parents. Sometimes kids are physically abused, sometimes emotionally, sometimes sexually,
Starting point is 00:45:43 sometimes it's the most horrific upbringing that you can possibly imagine. And in one household, a kid decides to, you know, be Shaquille O'Neal and another household, the kid decides that he's going to spend a lot of time in and out of prison, you know, for various crimes and things like that. And so like, what's the difference between the two? Well, that somebody made it.
Starting point is 00:46:07 I mean, Shaq is seven feet tall, right? He's a fucking monster, but there's other situations, you know, there's other professional athletes and there's other people that have, um,
Starting point is 00:46:17 and not even professional athletes. There's other people that have made successes of themselves that, that have come from real shitty, dark backgrounds. There's other people that have come from really wealthy backgrounds with a lot of great things going on and have done shitty and horrific things. So in my view and in my life experience, it always just comes down to choices. Now, you might have to make a lot more choices to get yourself out of the hole that you're
Starting point is 00:46:42 in, and it might be way harder, but I still think that you, that you can figure out a way to do it. Um, a good example is, uh, my cousin, um, picked up an extra job because he just didn't know what the status of his own job was. And he, luckily he never lost his job, but he was like, I'm'm just gonna get a job now because i don't know and uh he lives in new york and at the time there was a crazy amount of deaths in new york and even had uh employees uh pass and stuff like that so he was like i don't even know if they'll let us go into work anymore i don't know what will happen so i'll just pick up some extra work. And so he was proactive. And so I think, uh,
Starting point is 00:47:27 I guess that's my thoughts on it. Yeah. No, that's, that's perfectly well said. And, you know, and I'm not even,
Starting point is 00:47:33 I'm not even combative with this person either. Like I agree with them. You know, I, I agree with, with, with a lot of what they're saying. Like I'm fortunate that I wasn't depending on people physically being in my
Starting point is 00:47:45 building. Um, but I also made a decision a long time ago. I made a decision a long time ago to not trade hours for dollars. So I, and I, I did it with an invention, you know,
Starting point is 00:47:57 which is fucking weird and hard to figure out. But, um, I, I didn't want to try to trade my time for somebody else's dollars. And I made that decision long ago and also knew I never wanted to work for anybody. These are all things that I figured out over a period of time and they kind of let, they led me to where I am now.
Starting point is 00:48:17 Yeah. And then, you know, my thing is, you know, my, my wife lost her job in the middle of everything. You know, our household income was cut in half. You know, I barely even ever heard you talk about it have you heard him talk about it no not until this point because i i chose not to because we decided like okay this is what's happening um she's a beach body coach like you're now focusing 100 on that and we'll be fine so my thing was like okay maybe it wasn't necessarily her fault to like, just act, not accidentally, but like not pay attention to what was going on to be like, oh shit, maybe I should try to find another, you know, type of employment like your cousin.
Starting point is 00:48:53 But it was our decision and it was up to us to see what was happening or, you know, take in what was happening and then just pivot from there. Everyone's been saying that word pivot, but we just took it all in and we made the best of it and we didn't complain we didn't cry we didn't mope around we didn't you know uh she didn't receive that 600 like a week stimulus thing or whatever that was i can't remember why but for some reason she didn't get it and um we we didn't we just we kept going like yeah you know like so when it when it comes to like this title about it being your fault had we lost our house had we not had enough money to feed our daughter and something get you know even worse with that then yeah that would have been our fault but we took charge and we took full ownership and we just said no we're not gonna you know give up we're not
Starting point is 00:49:39 gonna whatever you know sell everything to try to just stay afloat like we're just gonna keep kicking ass and that's what we did that's the idea here yo like if you're listening in you're like fuck you guys it's you know so much misfortunes happened and a lot of people have died and you know if you're listening and that's where your mind is you got to understand like we're not saying bad things haven't happened we're not saying that a lot of people are in very different positions where things may have hit them worse. We're not saying that that doesn't happen. We're saying that at the end of the day, each individual does have to take responsibility for what is going on to them. Right. And try to figure out a way to make things happen.
Starting point is 00:50:22 That that's what we're like. You can't dispute that. You can't sit around, put your hands in the air and say, it's all 2020 is fault. Cause if you do that, then you're just letting everything happen to you and you're not taking any action to have an effect on what's actually going on.
Starting point is 00:50:35 That's what we're saying. And we think everybody, no matter in what position they are, has some power to do that, has some type of control to make those things happen. Yeah. I think, you know, Jocko Willink, you know, talks about extreme ownership quite a bit. And he talks about an incident that happened and they had to report to whoever the higher up authority was.
Starting point is 00:50:57 And I think Jocko was the highest ranking officer in the room other than the people that they had to report to. And it's a room of eight soldiers or something, right? And they get in this room and Jocko's really pissed and stewing about the whole situation for a while
Starting point is 00:51:20 and he's trying to think about whose fault it is and all these different things and what he's going to tell the higher-ups and everything. and finally when it comes down to it and they get in this room he stands up and he's you know states his rank and states what happened and everything and um you know in in military terms uh he basically says this is this is 100 percent falls on my shoulders i want to take responsibility for this this is my fault is 100% falls on my shoulders. I want to take responsibility for this. This is my fault. And another guy gets up and says the exact same thing.
Starting point is 00:51:50 Another guy gets up, says the exact same thing. Another guy gets up and says the exact same thing because it doesn't matter who, who's like, it doesn't matter. They're taking responsibility, all of them, because they weren't able to complete the mission the way that they were supposed to. And I think, unfortunately, I think they might've lost a person or two. And so when,
Starting point is 00:52:10 whenever you have a loss in life, whenever you're, whenever you're, uh, whenever something happens to you like that, you have to take responsibility for it. You have to, you lose your job.
Starting point is 00:52:21 You got a question. You got a question is, did the entire company fold up? Like, is the entire company gone? If the entire company is not gone and they got rid of you, you still have to take that's unfortunate and that sucks, but you should still look at yourself in the mirror and try to figure out why that happened. It's probably going to be for the better is what I would say, because you'll find
Starting point is 00:52:45 something that fits you better and that suits you better and that you can do a better job at. But if you're being honest, there's probably some situations where you were a little bit lazy, where you were a little bit complacent, where you just kind of were like, this job is, you know, I got insurance, I get a paycheck and I get to kind of roll through here every day. And just another number, and it doesn't really matter what I do and don't do. Just don't do so little that you get in trouble. And don't do so much that you get rewarded either because you don't want to raise any red flags on anything.
Starting point is 00:53:19 I just want to kind of just chill here and collect my check. A lot of people do that. And I think, you know, whenever anything happens, I think it's important that you shoulder the responsibility and say, I'm the one that allowed myself to get this fat. It has nothing to do with a divorce. It has nothing to do with, you know, coming off of drugs or whatever the thing is. You hear people, you say all kinds of stuff like, oh, well, I stopped smoking so that I gained 50 pounds. You see, it's not, but it's not from not smoking.
Starting point is 00:53:51 You didn't gain weight from not smoking. You gained weight because you developed a different bad habit. And so that's the dialogue to run through your head. And we're not saying like, we're not saying like, put yourself down. You know, we're saying admit there's a situation and then try to find a solution for it as quickly as possible.
Starting point is 00:54:11 And I think all three of us are saying the same thing. It's our belief. The fastest way to find the solution is to understand where the problem is, is that it's you. And once you fix that and once you admit that, then you can then it's easy to move forward from there. Absolutely. fix that and once you admit that then you can then it's easy to move forward from there yeah absolutely and i've always and something that you know with stoicism and there's this whole year about um you can control what you can control and you can't what you can't the whole mindset of like you know yeah like i dude i love summer like summer is just the absolute best i was pissed that we didn't do a lot of things you know this year but it's how it you know i couldn't control that whatever i guess i could have because we could have like still went outside the lines or whatever but it was how i interpreted it all
Starting point is 00:54:55 right like how i received it like was i bummed that we couldn't you know go out on the on the water or whatever it's like yeah that could have really kept me down. But instead I'm like, no, let's chill at home and let's, I don't know, whatever, watch tire King and have fun that way. Like I just, I don't want to keep using that word pivot, but I took whatever,
Starting point is 00:55:14 you know, what's happening. I just made the most of it. Right. Cause I can't remember what, what the exact saying is, but kind of like how you just, your,
Starting point is 00:55:22 your mind can control so much and it can you know just like i said make a positive out of a negative and i think that's what i've learned a lot this year and i think people are still struggling with oh yeah no you know like you know we're you know how you said like oh i wish i can or not wish but like i am upset that restaurants are closed down or whatever it's like okay but maybe taking stuff to go and eating at home can be pretty freaking awesome too so this is how you interpret it or cooking a meal up yourself yeah but that that's i think you know you you did mention the um one of the big things is the lack of uh social interaction for a lot of people like
Starting point is 00:56:06 i'm fortunate enough that we were still able to come here and do some work and do things with people but like there are individuals in my life i know that just like they they don't work at work anymore they work from home um and they're not hanging out with people like they used to in those ways and it really does affect them and that's one thing where I'm just, that's a tough one. I think. I don't think anyone, any of us like that at all. But I do also think that that's still a decision from a lot of people. Like some people are compromised.
Starting point is 00:56:35 So they, it's not, it, they don't have a choice, right? Yeah. They got to be smart about it. But there's a lot of people that are still choosing to like not go and like meet because you can still go to like starbucks and shit i mean you can still go places you can still go for a walk you can still call up your friend your dad or whoever you can still call up your brother or whoever whoever you got in your you know whoever is your buddy you could still see him um it might be harder and you know i don't know certain, maybe people live in different states and stuff, but there's always,
Starting point is 00:57:08 there's always an option. Andrew talked about like going out on like a boat, you know, it's like, well, maybe in your particular area, they don't allow that. But could you drive a couple hours to, I mean, I'm just saying like, there's, there's always, there's always a way, you know, there's always a way around it. And I think a lot of people are it. It's easier to have excuses in 2020, I think.
Starting point is 00:57:30 Sure. Because they're like built in. And so you can say that you're sad and upset because you're not seeing people. But are you really, quote unquote, trying? That's true. Because you could you can. Right. Like, I'm trying to think I'm trying to'm trying to think about what I'm restricted from doing.
Starting point is 00:57:48 I'm not restricted. I have no restrictions in terms of getting into my car. I have driven across a bunch of different states. I have driven a bunch of different places. I've even flown a bunch of different places. I never had one person stop me at any time telling me that I couldn't go anywhere. I never had one person stop me at any time telling me that I couldn't go anywhere. I never had one person question who I was visiting or where I was going or when. I know that some of that happened during quarantine, but I never experienced anything like that. Think about the restrictions you have.
Starting point is 00:58:17 What are you restricted from doing? Are you restricted from going outside your house? Are you restricted from walking? Are you restricted from going in your car? from going outside your house, you're restricted from walking, or you're restricted from going in your car. If you're not restricted from going in your car and like driving places, you're really not that restrict. Like the invention of the car is like the greatest thing that ever happened to the world
Starting point is 00:58:36 pretty much. Cause you can kind of go just about anywhere other than through the sea. Right. But you can drive yourself wherever the hell you want to go. That's a pretty good amount of freedom. There's no soldiers out in the streets, you know, preventing you from doing certain, you know, from going to get a cup of coffee or going to pick up some takeout or
Starting point is 00:58:59 whatever the hell it is that you like, whatever the hell it is you like to do. I think there's still a lot of options out there. So, um, I know it, it feels, it feels like we're really restricted, but I,
Starting point is 00:59:11 I just, I would like for everybody listening to the show right now to think about the restrictions that you have that are placed on you that are different than what you've had in the past. Cause the only thing I can think of is, uh, you just, you cannot go into certain places without wearing a mask
Starting point is 00:59:27 that's true um i think they have implemented curfews here and there in some places so they don't want you out in the streets at certain times um you can't eat in restaurants right here it's actually oddly enough in certain counties in rose can, but yeah, you can't eat in restaurants. Yeah. Yeah. But there's a couple like, but this like pretty just imagine that it's, imagine that we don't
Starting point is 00:59:55 know anything about this virus, right? And imagine if somebody said, hey, like what if something what if something happened and you were restricted from not eating a restaurant for a year you'd be like oh no i would that would kind of be unfortunate because i i kind of like to go out to eat but that'd be the end of the conversation you wouldn't be like oh my god like are you serious a whole year of not eating in a restaurant like i i i'm out of
Starting point is 01:00:23 here like i'm moving to fucking canada or whatever like you wouldn't make that big of a deal you'd probably be like oh man that's that doesn't sound great or if i said hey you know there's these viruses are coming and uh we're all gonna have to wear masks quite a bit like i i think that i think you might be like oh man like that kind of sounds a little a little intrusive but i'm sure i can get used to it would probably be the next thing you'd say like all right well if we have to wear them i guess we'll fucking wear a mask yeah you know yeah yeah no i think things are things are much better now actually obviously than they were in the
Starting point is 01:01:01 middle of the year because they were closing down trails and at a certain point like yeah i was actually just gonna say that like when we were down i got to be yeah in in bodega when they shut the beach down and you know i think that's still happening right now really yeah i mean not necessarily bodega but like i've seen stuff where certain places yeah certain places where it's like this is unsafe get out of here and it's one guy on the beach go to to Walmart instead. Yeah. But I mean, I like, you know, that's when like everything was pretty much closed down.
Starting point is 01:01:34 But like where we are over the hump for the most part of this, I don't think they're going to try and do that type of BS again. And 2021 is going to be another good year. It should be another good year. Yeah. I mean, everything we've learned this year like you learn that you don't necessarily need the gym you don't know you can get a lot of work done at home yeah or wherever the hell you can find a floor you can get something in yeah there's no 30 minute or 20 minute drive yeah to the gym and 20 minute 30 minute minute drive back. And you don't have to worry about if the place has a shower or whatever, you can just train
Starting point is 01:02:09 at home. And if you need to take a shower, your shower is right there and your food is right there. You can cook up a bunch of food. You don't have to wait. I think another thing that you recognize too, is how long it takes to go to a restaurant. It takes forever. It does. It takes a while to drive there You know And then
Starting point is 01:02:25 A restaurant Like nowadays I don't know They seem like they take Longer and longer The more often That I would go But like
Starting point is 01:02:32 It seems like You're there for like an hour Pretty much Every time It's like I don't know It seems It seems a little excessive
Starting point is 01:02:39 It's nice to be waited on You know It's nice to have a meal You know Cooked for you I guess by somebody else But People are still doing A lot of that anyway.
Starting point is 01:02:47 Still ordering off of like DoorDash and whatever else. But I guess the main thing, the main thing that we're talking about here is don't don't put your arms up and blame 2020 when all you're doing is ordering a bunch of junk food off of these different apps, you know, and i can't do anything and i think a lot of people have a tendency to once they have one bad experience or once they hear something is one way actually sometimes they don't even have to experience it they just are like oh i heard this i heard the trails are closed so i'm not going and it's like you were never going on the trails anyway i know i know there's a few people i know who legit did that i was like you weren't gonna do going on the trails anyway you're fine oh god oh no I know there's a few people I know who legit did that I was like you weren't gonna do that shit anyway
Starting point is 01:03:30 oh the gyms are closed you weren't gonna fucking go to the gym anyway you never had a membership I was going and then they shut it down I've been thinking about it for a long time oh my god there's yeah there's a lot of that there's you know again back to back
Starting point is 01:03:46 to the media talking about you know the doom and gloom and so now you just you automatically have that mindset like everything sucks because you know people just you know everything and then yeah the gym's closed so now i can't get my exercise in and you know yeah the one thing somebody did bring up though that did suck really bad was when everyone bought all the toilet paper it's like what the hell yeah that was weird so that's when i got a bidet exactly yeah it was the the last straw was i think we got like a like six rolls of toilet paper off amazon for like 25 bucks or something i was like okay nope we're we got to do something and yeah i ended up getting just you know uh cold water
Starting point is 01:04:32 bidet which isn't that bad like like it's legit like not like a thing like i don't even think about it oh your butthole is probably a million degrees it's pretty it stays pretty warm it's insulated yeah packed in there so if you use it so hold on pause pause because i have a question i like getting in steam every once in a while like that yeah if if you're using a bidet do you use it and then stand to wipe so with my so i've done i've done studies on my on my day and uh there's no reason to wipe oh so like yours also has a dryer i has a dryer yeah damn it okay you beat the system okay yeah i mean i've i've tried to what i've wiped a bunch of times like test it out and i mean every once in a while it's messy enough to where you're like yeah yeah i should probably dash by white as well
Starting point is 01:05:24 i was thinking of what specific situation could it be messy enough where you still have to wipe. And it's the one where you hold too long, where you don't make it to the bathroom in time. Right. It's not like you kind of mess yourself. You just it just kind of comes out and just see a little bit. Well, you got deep cheeks. So we're safe. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:46 well you got deep cheeks so we're safe yeah yeah yeah the uh the water that comes out of my uh bidet could like make these uh rogue like the psi or whatever it's called or the water pressure is so strong it could like laser cut it yeah no there needs to be some regulations on that because if you slip like because mine is just like a manual like knob right like you just kind of go and it it's not like you know it's not very intelligent it just is kind of like pressure pressure smart toilet yeah it's just like a little bit of pressure a little pressure and also you're coughing it out your mouth like it's like it'll launch you off of that toilet but yeah that thing gets in there i think colonic style i think it's really worth it man it is i can't go anywhere with i mean i hate not having it imagine carrying around the toilet
Starting point is 01:06:32 the toilet lid like you're on the airplane like excuse me like you sit next to somebody you hold onto a toilet but could you imagine on an airplane though because that toilet that toilet paper is fucking see-through oh yeah it would be huge it would be so helpful my why they don't my bidet was 900 bucks but it's worth every penny my my bidet was it pays for itself every day my my bidet was about 30 900 both of them are worth every single penny yep that's one dude
Starting point is 01:07:11 legit one of okay so what's funny is like they have so the same company the same company makes one for like 700 bucks and like one of our friends yeah one of our friends got one for his wife and she was so mad.
Starting point is 01:07:26 She's like, it doesn't have the seat warmer. She's like that. You just gotta make fun of them every time. Oh, and the seat doesn't go up and down. Bullshit. You can push a button on the little controller to make the seat go up and down. One of my absolute highest goals in life is to have one of those $900 bidets. I was going to say,
Starting point is 01:07:45 that's what, you know, like when you sit down on that, you're like, I'm a good life. It's worth every penny. It changes everything forever. So you can go based on where you are in life,
Starting point is 01:08:01 based on how expensive your bidet is. I have one one i'm fantastic i'm doing great i still don't i need to get one to at least get on the mat which one do you have the tushy one or whatever it's called no uh mine is bio bidet yeah it's just like it comes it pops up on amazon like sales all the time but in the middle of the pandemic i couldn't find that shit anywhere so i i ended up finding a deal on like a like a two for like a little bit cheaper and snatched that shit up real quick so you have two bidets in the house yep that's a status right there i know mine does like the oscillating like you go
Starting point is 01:08:34 and then i go have you have you tried it because when i went to his house the first time i sat down and i was just there for like 20 minutes back and forth and all the settings in in uh in his beach house yeah i was like finally and i'll just i'll just hang it out in there for like an hour you're on there kind of like doing a little bit of a dance too you're like kind of moving your chest make sure you get everything all cleaned up so mine doesn't have all those it just has uh it's funny it's got a picture of a butt and then another one i think it's just like a female like symbol whatever because it's got one for the back and one for the front
Starting point is 01:09:14 yeah no i know that symbol that that it looks like a it's like that right yeah yeah i was like are those ovaries whatever it is i can't look down at it i get aroused exactly well if you hit that button i mean you might be hitting your balls with the water which might be great probably yeah that gets messy though might be a lot of pleasure it feels good a lot we need to we need to get a bidet sponsor no we do yeah we need somebody to i think tushy does podcasts that's what that's called right yeah yeah tushy tushy i've heard howard stern talking about it before there's a couple there's a couple bootleg ones that you
Starting point is 01:10:00 can get on like bootleg bidet.com what it's a what's amazing is uh and this awesome i've done the research trying to find a bidet they'll take like uh like a tushy video and they'll just blur out tushy and then like superimpose like their shit brand literally shit brand uh over and it's like dude like you guys aren't even trying at this point it doesn't look the same and you know you end up getting like no one notices though you're in media though you notice like you could see these things people know this there's no way that they can't oh god it's like your phone's not just greasy all of a sudden like it's blurred out for a reason that's so funny i would like to see your legit reaction on sitting on a low clclasp bidet. After coming off your...
Starting point is 01:10:45 Pure disgust. Just come out of the bathroom. Yuck! That was a terrible experience. You guys live like cavemen. Oh, God. That was great. You guys probably use ice packs and you don't use
