Starting point is 00:00:00 So yesterday, or actually the night before, my brother's all fired up. He's like, we got to do stuff for the movie. We got to do stuff for the movie. Smelly, hey Smelly, we got to do stuff for the movie. Yeah. So I contact the powers that be. I contact Slingshot Media. I send out a smoke screen.
Starting point is 00:00:20 I send out a high alert. I set out an amber alert. I fucking do everything I can. Make sure there's somebody here to film. I make sure that I am amped up and ready to go. I'm all hooked up on coffee. I'm all hooked up on Kratom and I'm roaming around my house and my brother, who's just, he's just in my spare bedroom.
Starting point is 00:00:42 He's nowhere to be found. It's fucking out cold out like a light like a goddamn bum just uh just sitting there doing god knows what to himself and i mosey off onto the gym end up having a great workout and then i think it was like 10 o'clock you come strolling in to the gym 9 30 9 30 what happened well i woke up I woke up at 8, but you woke up at- You woke up at like 5. No, I have a lot of trouble- Big time snoozer?
Starting point is 00:01:09 I have a lot of trouble sleeping. Also, yesterday was the day of the Kratom rally that I told you I was going to, so that's more what the plan was for yesterday. The rest of the week is to be here to get shit done. I don't know about that. That's not the conversation I had. Anyway. Well, nobody told me, like, hey, be up at this time. Let's go. Like, I don't know about that that's not the conversation i had anyway well nobody told me like hey be up at this time let's go like i didn't know i did uh you're in a text message you're in a text thread said be here 7 30 apparently yeah let me let me pull it up let me just make
Starting point is 00:01:39 sure that it's actually here i actually don't think i ever got it oh you didn't get the message i i don't know i mean while i was snoozing so of oh you didn't get the message i i don't know i mean while i was snoozing so of course i didn't get it but then i came home at like four o'clock in the afternoon and you were completely snoozing on the uh recliner when my work was done yep you're in here uh me and my bro will be at st at 7 30 a.m it'll be good to shoot B-roll for our film. This all, by the way, is my brother's job. This is not actually my job requirement. But it's all stuff that we physically talked about, too.
Starting point is 00:02:18 And then I had to text everybody again because apparently. Where is it? Apparently nobody's cell phones are working. And I had to say, who's coming in? Like six hours later. But where is it? Finally, Andrew and Ryan. Where is it? My text.
Starting point is 00:02:29 I say smelly Andy, Jake, blah, blah. It's a video of something. I don't have this. Like, look at this. These are all my text messages. Like, look, yesterday. These are people that text me. He could have very easily deleted this out of here.
Starting point is 00:02:40 You can't delete text messages out like completely. You have to go through a whole system to do that. No. I'll say hi and see if that comes through. Seriously, I never got that text. It's not in here. Anyway, we were in the same house. I don't know what happened.
Starting point is 00:03:00 Well, you could have knocked on the door. That could have been easy. I did. I knocked. I texted. I sent other texts. Well, what about the old school the door. That could have been easy. I did. I knocked. I texted. I sent other texts. Well, what about the old school way we used to do it? I got nothing.
Starting point is 00:03:10 Dropping elbows. I got nothing. I don't know. I don't know. You know, one of the problems might be that your name pops up in my phone as Bradley Martin sometimes. That's weird. It doesn't happen since I got the new phone. I have situations like that where I go to send somebody a text for some reason if i try to send something
Starting point is 00:03:29 to myself it comes up as as a dave asprey i have no idea why like it has it makes no sense at all it doesn't make any sense anyway i believe it was your plan to shoot b-roll and then you weren't here regardless right i bombed out he bombed out my plan was not to shoot b-roll and then you weren't here regardless right i bombed out he bombed out my plan was not to shoot b-roll yesterday though i don't know that's what no that's what you said on uh let's see today's what sunday on friday why would i send a message to everybody randomly telling them that we need i never actually got it though well aside from the mess that you told me specifically i meant for the week. I said I'll be up there for a week.
Starting point is 00:04:06 No, you said you'd always be sick if they shot some B-roll tomorrow. And you and I even talked about it a little bit. And then we got nowhere. I don't know where that conversation was because I don't think I was in on it. Folks, ladies and gentlemen, Kratom is a great product. But sometimes this might be some of the side effect of being too high on it. I don't know. Anyway. but sometimes this might be some of the side effect of being too high on it. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Anyway, all I know is you said for people to be here. I set it up, and then you came strolling in late. That's all I know. I'm just starting to stick to the facts. All right. Well, I bombed out. That's it. Movie's over.
Starting point is 00:04:40 I'm off the team. I'm out. He's fired. It's all right. What do you think about Vince McMahon starting up DX starting up the xfl uh it's an interesting move i wonder i know like the nfl has been having some issues with the um you know the national anthem and a bunch of other stuff with uh you know players getting in trouble and just all sorts of different things so you know it may be a good move but it didn't work you know years ago so i don't know why they think it'll work now, but also Vince owns the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:05:09 So it's a different move where he thinks he has more control over it and, um, able to like really control it more. But now I don't think he's announced like when they're going to be playing because last time they played. No, I know. I know that part, but I meant like when the season. Oh, when the season is. Because last time they played in the colder weather, they played like more deep into the winter, which was not a good idea last time. Because even when they were in LA, Andy bought me season tickets to go see them in LA. I think maybe you went to a game with me. Yeah, we went.
Starting point is 00:05:40 I went to a couple games and it was too cold, even in Los Angeles. game with me. Yeah, we went. I went to a couple games and it was too cold, even in Los Angeles. So I can't imagine if you were in like Chicago or some shit, how that would work out. It'd probably be way too cold. So when they start the season will matter a lot. They're going to have eight teams.
Starting point is 00:05:59 It seems like they're going to have a little bit more of a, like less gimmicks. They're not going to have like, you know, cheap names on the back and stuff like that. Season will probably be short. They're getting rid of that. Yeah. They'll probably have like eight games or something like that he hate me yeah they're gonna get they're getting rid of all that kind of stuff and making it more like traditional football but i don't i don't see the talent uh i don't know i mean maybe the talent is there to have eight teams of guys that are good there's plenty of guys that don't make teams right now that get cut there's a lot of people asking about like what about tim tebow what about johnny manziel and these different guys and i think vince is saying like as long as you've never been in trouble then you can play in
Starting point is 00:06:34 the xfl which i don't know why that matters because in the wwe the guys are always they they've done some bad bad stuff and they they wrestle in the wwe it's publicly traded company i don't i think he's trying to oppose you, he's trying to oppose the NFL, the stigma of maybe some of the NFL athletes. Um, I think, I think it's, it's a, it's a move that is done at a, it's really well timed because the NFL is, um, you know, a lot of people think it's shitty. A lot of people don't like to watch it as much anymore. The ratings are way down.
Starting point is 00:07:05 There's the thing with the flag. There's, um, all the concussion talk. There's like so many different things going on, uh, that I think that, you know,
Starting point is 00:07:13 he, he must see a niche. There's two things. It's either Vince has a bigger plan and a bigger vision than any of us can foresee, or, you know, who knows?
Starting point is 00:07:22 Maybe he's just has this, uh, this boner for football and really loves it and really wants to be in control but like i would think his money would be better invested in uh and having his own team or something like that rather than uh starting a whole organization it just seems like it's really difficult and i like i know that i'm not interested in it i have no interest in watching it i, the NFL doesn't really interest me that much anymore either. So I just, um, I just watch college football.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Not anymore. I just, I'm, I'm out of sports. Like, I don't care. I don't know why, but, um, you know, I used to love USC football. I used to love watching sports. I think it's because I think sports have gotten kind of crushed by the internet, you know, by social media. I think that people are, you know, they, a while back a stat came out that people are like checking their phones 50 times a day. And then, I mean, that was like two years ago.
Starting point is 00:08:14 And now I think it's like tripled. You know, I think people check their phone 150 times a day. I'll tell you the truth. Like I'm really into lifting. I'd rather watch a video of like. Somebody lift for 10 seconds. Somebody, somebody train in.
Starting point is 00:08:26 I'd rather want like, uh, you know, look at pictures of Mike O'Hearn getting shredded. You know, I, I'd rather like look at that stuff because that stuff inspires me. It gets me fired up. We were just talking the other day about like how certain things on Instagram, whatever, it'll get you pumped up. It'll it's, it's more personal. A lot of things are more personal with the internet than with football but like football still is a definitely a fun thing to get together and watch
Starting point is 00:08:51 and and whatever i'm excited about the super bowl i think the super bowl this year will be great the eagles haven't been in it for a long time they've never won it i wonder if more people are just watching like ufc now like it seems like but maybe that's just like a circle that we have maybe it's just us yeah like because uh i mean i guess the older demographic doesn't watch mma as much because they they don't think it's a sport yeah they still think it's like fighting the ufc has been weird lately too where it just hasn't been that good ever since you know ufc has kind of sucked well william morris took it over i'm actually represented them, so I don't want to say anything bad. But I think that like ever since they took it over, they've been struggling a little bit to find ground and figure it out. But some of the shows, man, look excellent.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Like the UFC on Fox yesterday, the fight night or whatever. It looks really good. Like up the level of the quality of the sets and how they do everything. I do think it's a little bit weird but i guess i'm not opposed to it but i guess it's a little bit weird how the fighters do commentary like i think that's a little bit strange but that's just what they do it's like what they've been trying to do dominic cruz but i think dominic cruz is probably retired right dominic cruz retired but tyron woodley's a champion daniel cormier is a champion and like
Starting point is 00:10:03 that to me is weird it's like you shouldn't have your sitting champion sitting up there, you know, criticizing or judging guys or whatever. It just, just doesn't seem right, but it's okay because it's, they're trying something new. So,
Starting point is 00:10:14 and, and the guys are great at it. Let's get down in the field and hear more from Tom Brady. Yeah. But Tyron, what the fuck? You'd be like, what the fuck?
Starting point is 00:10:21 Why is Tom Brady? Tyron Woodley's being an announcer. He's really good at it. And so is, so is Michael Bisbing. Like they're all very good. Yeah. The guys are really good at it. So it be like, what the fuck? Why is Tom Brady a hustler to be an announcer? He's really good at it. And so is Michael Bisbing. They're all very good at it. Yeah, the guys are really good at it. So it's like not- I think Dominic Cruz is kind of like a natural born heel, but I've noticed that he's already
Starting point is 00:10:34 gotten a lot better at commentating in the short time that he's been doing it. But even, I think- Daniel Cormier seems like such a great guy. Just such a nice, positive person to be around that. Uh, I met Ty. He's fighting Stipe. Yeah. Wow.
Starting point is 00:10:48 He's fighting Stipe for the heavyweight championship. I think, uh, July. Oh man, that's going to be crazy. Yeah. Fireworks going off in July and that going on. You know, it'd be interesting. I think that, um, you know, something that, uh, Joe Rogan said a long time ago is, uh, he said it particularly about, um, you know, something that, uh, Joe Rogan said a long time ago is, uh, he said
Starting point is 00:11:05 it particularly about, um, Crow cop. He said like Crow cop, his head was too small to be a, uh, to be a heavyweight in some ways. And obviously Crow cop is one of the, one of the all-time greats. Uh, but he, he didn't have enough size, but I think Daniel Cormier is kind of similar like where he has a smaller, it sounds like a funny thing to talk about, but he has a smaller head. And I wonder someone like Stipe punched them, who's got a big, heavy fucking fist. It's like, what's that going to look like? He's also an Olympic champion wrestler.
Starting point is 00:11:36 And that's really difficult. But Stipe wrestled the shit out of that guy the other day. And Stipe. We forgot his name now. Yeah, Stipe just destroyed that guy the other day and gano we've got his name now yeah stipe just destroyed that guy it was crazy well i i said right off the bat you're not going to be uh an all-time great with the name francis it's just i don't see how that's going to happen yeah he got beat up by a guy named francis yeah come on francis but stipe is kind of a weird name too but neither one of them have i mean i guess francis and gano has uh he has more of a electric, you know, feel to him.
Starting point is 00:12:08 But man, did you see him like even late in the fifth round, he threw some bombs where he could have still just like knocked somebody's head off. You know, like even though he was so tired and he was so gassed. He had an insane amount of power and it was really, it was really crazy to watch that he even had that level of conditioning because they were kind of talking about how poor his conditioning was. I thought it was like, I mean, I know that he fell apart. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:32 I thought it was pretty, pretty. Yeah. I'll never say that he sucks or anything. I mean, he's a guy that's savage. So for him to last that whole time was kind of amazing to watch even that. I was like,
Starting point is 00:12:41 when is this guy just going to fold and say, screw it, I'm done. You know, but he didn't, he just, and I admire him from that. I was like, when is this guy just going to fold and say, screw it, I'm done. You know, but he didn't, he just, and I, I admire him from that.
Starting point is 00:12:47 I think that's awesome. He's a hard time keeping everything all together. I think due to the, you know, the drug testing, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:53 the drug policies and stuff like that. A lot of guys get busted. A lot of guys get popped. They'll have a fight set and then something will happen or something will happen
Starting point is 00:13:01 after the fight to diminish it. Um, Bones Jones has, you know, Bones Jones is gone for now, but it looks like he'll come back, you know, what a third time. Um, it's just, it's confusing to the fans. And then Daniel Cormier continues to win his fights fairly easy. Um, and you're just like, well, that's that, that title in that, um, in that weight class is owned by Bones Jones, but he can't get his shit together to perform.
Starting point is 00:13:32 And I don't think anybody's looking at it as if they're not, I don't think there's people, a lot of people are like, oh, he only wins cause he fucking, he cheats or does steroids or whatever. People just, I think they recognize that he's supremely talented and he's better than everybody else. Yeah. I don't know that, that likeely talented and he's better than everybody else. Yeah. I don't know that, that like steroids or anything have helped him be as good, you know, like. They always help. Yeah. But what he's been taking has been weird. Like one of them was a, you know, like a boner pills, you know, the last time it was some sort of a steroid that they weren't sure.
Starting point is 00:14:02 And then I tested the B sample and, but you know, there's, there's so many, so many weird issues with Bones Jones. It's like really hard to tell. Last one was like Chernobyl or Trenbol or something. I don't even know. And he said, like, you know, I don't know. He said he never took it. So who knows? But obviously like everybody's talking about tainted supplements and things like that.
Starting point is 00:14:21 And what's interesting about that is I always used to think that when people say, oh, it's tainted supplements, I would say, oh, there's no way. But, um, you know, there actually is a website that the UFC put together where there's over a hundred different supplements that are on the market that have banned substances. And I have a bunch of crap. That's a pretty big number though, to have a hundred supplements that are on the market, over a hundred supplements. They're all just so everybody out there knows they're all from really small brands that you probably never heard of. Uh, but a lot of people take these products, you know, a lot of people make all sorts of
Starting point is 00:14:52 products. So they're out there. Well, our boy, you know, John Cena, you know, he, he knows his, his very income and everything is based off of, uh, is based off of him, you know, passing these drug tests and stuff like that. And so like, he doesn't take, uh, supplements that are, you know, he doesn't take something, you know, you can take anything that's not tested. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:13 You know, I said, I'll send you some slingshot protein. And he's like, oh, well, if that's not tested or whatever, I don't even know the differences between the different things. Yeah. You can't even take it. He's like, I'm just, I can't, you know, I can't take that, uh, take that risk. So for him, you know,
Starting point is 00:15:26 he's, he takes the responsibility upon himself. I think maybe other people just don't. Yeah. A lot of people don't. And a lot of people get caught up in it because they didn't really check in on the supplement or, you know, what was in it or something like that.
Starting point is 00:15:38 And it just, it happens all the time. And that's something that the athlete, you know, John is taking control of that. And that's really smart because he's also, you know, um you know bones jones has been busted so many times for so many different things i think everyone at this point just like he's full of shit you know he's just he's just you know doing this shit uh to try to get an edge or try to get an advantage but i still
Starting point is 00:15:59 think that regardless of all that i think that when people look at bones jones they're just like he's genetically just on another level. When he's in the ring and he performs and yes, there might be like growth hormone or might be this or that. And, um, I'm sure all those things can help, but it's,
Starting point is 00:16:14 it's still very clear no matter what he does or doesn't do, uh, that he's more talented than everybody else. It seems like there might be, um, which sounds really crazy because he's so awesome at what he does. There might be like a lack of confidence or some sort of like insecurity. You see a lot of times.
Starting point is 00:16:30 Yeah, what makes him do it? With Ben Johnson and these other guys. Ben Johnson was like, I took steroids. Yeah, I did. But I didn't take what they caught me with. That's the problem, you know? And so he said, hey, the night before the race, I was a little nervous. I took, you know, blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:16:43 But I didn't take what they caught me with. What they caught me with was put in my beer is what he keeps claiming. He's been claiming that for like, you know, since it happened. Why the fuck is he drinking beer? Because he won the race. He won a gold medal. So he had a beer afterwards. And this guy, Andre Jackson or Andre Johnson or something, supposedly slipped some Winstroll in his drink.
Starting point is 00:17:00 But you know, the thing is, that's crazy is that could actually happen. And that could actually work because you can take Winstroll orally and it'll still work. So I think that, um, his story could potentially be true, but I don't, I don't buy it. It's a, that's a weird, uh, set of circumstances. What are you doing up here in Sacramento? I came up here to Sacramento for a Kratom rally yesterday. You didn't come up here for me? Well, I did.
Starting point is 00:17:26 Or for Super Training? It was kind of small. There was like, you know, 50 people there or something out at the Capitol building. I just came up to support it. I think that it's really important. I have a movie coming out in May that we just actually announced. That's from Kratom right here? Yeah, I think I just announced it yesterday.
Starting point is 00:17:42 The movie's called A Leaf of Faith, and it sort of explores the whole Kratom world and how it's helped a lot of people get off of heroin, get off of opioids, and really attacks the opioid epidemic from the inside out and shows people why this plant's really important to me. It's like a good alternative for addiction. Well, with addiction, we always talk about like harm reduction how do you reduce the amount of harm somebody's doing to themselves and i believe that kratom is a great way to do that if you're on opioids if you're on heroin if you're on you know something that's really strong they have also found uh evidence a lot of evidence actually like it's all anecdotal
Starting point is 00:18:20 right now there's not studies on it yet but we're working towards that um they've shown that it helps people to stop drinking it helps people to stop taking crystal meth so that's as much as we want to put a lot of faith into studies we you know as we're as we're working on this uh nutrition movie and uh just as we're learning more about what goes into science and stuff we're just learning more and more that that uh a lot of this research and a lot of these tests and stuff, we're just learning more and more that, that, uh, a lot of this research and a lot of these tests and stuff and studies are, well, they're complete bullshit. I know that, I know that we rely on them and I know that we, we want, we want to believe in science. There's like something in the psyche of your brain that wants to believe in this study
Starting point is 00:18:59 showed that fish oil reduces inflammation and it does this. Then you get all hyped up and you go take a bunch of fish oil reduces inflammation and it does this, then you get all hyped up and you go take a bunch of fish oil. But the truth is, is that once you start going a couple of questions deep on somebody, they start to go, uh, and, um, or, and they don't really know what the fuck they're talking about. Reduces inflammation. Who the fuck is that? Good. Is that, I don't even know what, is that a good thing? And if, if, uh, fish oil does that from one study, uh, it may not do it in the next study and there's so many different things we can make studies show us.
Starting point is 00:19:30 And so it's- And you're like, what do you mean by inflammation? We don't- Where, what kind of inflammation? How's it affecting the person? I think people need to get the fuck away from studies. I think they're a waste of time in a lot of ways. Well, great thing if people want to go cross-reference it
Starting point is 00:19:42 and look it up is you can go on YouTube and you can look at John Oliver who does last week tonight, his show. That's great. Yeah, he did a 10, there's a 10-minute segment on YouTube, 10 or 11 minutes on scientific studies, you know, and how they're bullshit. So yesterday, one of my friends was telling me that he takes ZMA and he was like raving about how, hey, man, if you can't, because I couldn't sleep. So I was telling him I couldn't sleep and that's why I woke up later and blah, blah, blah. Right. So he said, Oh, if you're taking ZMA and blah, blah, you said, do you know about the study from ZMA? Do you know who did it, how it became popular? And he said, no. And I said, well, if you read
Starting point is 00:20:16 the book game of shadows about Barry Bonds and his steroid, you'll find out that Victor Conti from Balco was a guy that did that study. There were like 17 people in the study. They were football players from a college. Most of them dropped out. Most of them were eating tacos and burritos and not following the diet that they were supposed to be following when they were on it. By the end of the study, there were seven people left and four people had positive results and three people the study that went and zma was a multi multi-million dollar supplement that supposedly help all these people sleep and help all and it may work it may be good it might be fine but according to that study it's all bullshit and that's something that people need to be aware of is a lot of things are like that well it's interesting how people they that's the first
Starting point is 00:21:02 thing they want to bring up you know with something like the slingshot, like, Oh, what studies have been done on it? It's like, who fucking cares? The thing works. People love it.
Starting point is 00:21:10 You put it on and you bench press 10% more. You put it on and it takes away pain. Kratom, take Kratom. Did it make you better? Did it make you worse? That's your study. Do your own study.
Starting point is 00:21:20 We just had a conversation last night about Kratom and said, I was like, I am against selling something that can get somebody off of heroin and gas stations. But then again, I don't know if I'm against it. I'm not sure. I mean, like if we're looking for harm reduction, right. And somebody is going to say they're on their way to their drug dealer and I stop at a gas station and decide, well, I'll just take some Kratom instead of like, you know, it's like that's harm reduction right there. There's it's available.
Starting point is 00:21:43 It's easy to get. You don't have to go to a doctor. It's not hard. But then again, I'm like, well,, it's like, that's harm reduction right there. There's it's available. It's easy to get, you don't have to go to a doctor. It's not hard. Um, but then again, I'm like, well, is it powerful? You know, but it's not more powerful than Advil Tylenol. It doesn't do more damage than those drugs. Uh, pain wise, it, it makes you feel euphoria. And what I find is really interesting is, um, in this country, we have a really big problem with people being happy. So everybody's walking around miserable, depressed on antidepressants, saying that they're stressed out. You have kids that are like your son's age, like 13, 14,
Starting point is 00:22:12 walking around talking about stress, anxiety, social anxiety, how they can't talk to people. They're on their phone all day. They can't communicate with people in class. They can't communicate with their teachers. And everything's sort of like falling off the rails, you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:27 And, we're, we're looking at the wrong, uh, we're looking at the wrong solutions for those, you know, for those things like kids that are 13 and 14 shouldn't be feeling stressed out and they shouldn't be,
Starting point is 00:22:38 you know, it's just, we just live in a different world right now that's evolving and changing. And it's, you know, they, you know and it's, you know. You know, they say, you know, one thing with like something like common sense is that it just doesn't exist as much as you'd like to think, you know, is replacing heroin with Kratom a better habit? Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:02 Yeah, it just is. bit yes yeah yeah it just is um because even though kratom let's just let's just hypothetically say that kratom in large doses is harmful um they're still not uh you're more than likely i mean uh the people i know that use kratom i haven't seen them uh be out in the streets i haven't seen them like strung out on kratom. I've never seen anybody like, yeah, I haven't seen or heard of somebody, uh, um, you know, not paying attention to their kids, somebody, uh, just going all in and selling their body or selling other things to get ahold of Kratom, like to do any and everything that, right. Like that's people, people are having traded sex for heroin and cocaine and all these different things. Right. And it's, so it's, um, do you think it's important, you know, being
Starting point is 00:23:49 a former or not even former, but being an addict, is it important to trade your habits? I, you know, people say that back in with something else, you shovel it back in with something else. People always say, or you, the same, the same people say this, right? If you talk to somebody in a rehab facility, they'll say, you need to replace your bad habits with something that's more mindful. And their idea of that is replacing like doing drugs. With cigarettes. Yeah, with cigarettes basically. Like take one bad drug and replace it with another lesser bad, however you want to say it. But like in, in rehab, they want you to replace like, they,
Starting point is 00:24:25 yeah, they want you to replace your, uh, drug of choice with more mindful activities. Like maybe like going to a meeting or hanging out, you know, with a new friend or do it, you know,
Starting point is 00:24:34 doing, they say more mindful, like, uh, maybe, maybe volunteering. Those things aren't related enough. Probably.
Starting point is 00:24:39 They're not related enough. Yeah, exactly. So like, it's easy to say, Hey, replace eating that Snickers bar with a walk you'd like fuck you yeah i want a fucking snickers but look if we talk about trading one
Starting point is 00:24:49 thing for another and trading habits and it being bad i traded all the sugar i eat for protein and fat and in doing that i've made myself a lot healthier a lot stronger a lot better off and i'm gonna live a lot longer because of it and And I traded one thing for another. So there are, I think there are varying degrees of things. And I don't think like, look, I look at it when people say you're trading one drug for another, I look at it as like, I'm trading a drug, a hardcore drug that was invented by big pharma to make me addicted to it. I'm trading that for a natural plant that was put here on the earth for us to consume that's a big difference that's a big jump but people want to say well it's a plant and it's a drug and it's blah blah you know and i like to put things in a box but uh you know a lot of people are dying and that's the thing that people don't understand while this is all going
Starting point is 00:25:38 on and people are arguing whether something is addictive as coffee or not there's 18 000 people a year like our brother that are that are we're losing to this kind of thing you know right like actually in 2015 52 000 people died of drug overdoses that's a record uh nobody else has that record and uh nobody else wants that record but we the united states who's supposed to be like one of the richest countries in the world one of the most successful countries in the world we have a lot of people dying off of drugs and sugar and everything else, right? All these addictive things that are supposedly, you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:12 There's 52,000 people that in some way died for no reason. Died for absolutely. Yeah. Because they were in like, well, because they were in pain or because they were, some people, a lot of people seek it out. Yeah. But a lot of people just start out like I did. They were just in pain. I guess not even for no reason necessarily, but they died in a way that could have been preventable.
Starting point is 00:26:30 Yeah, it could have been preventable. You're always going to have. Some of those traps. I think like all throughout society, we've always had drunks and, you know, addicts of something or people that did excess of one thing. They get fixated on one thing and they just keep doing it. Well, there must have been. It's always going to exist. excess of of one thing they get fixated on one thing they just keep doing it well there must always gonna exist you know in human evolution there was a switch at some point where you could where you potentially had the option to be a bum you know whereas maybe when we first started out
Starting point is 00:26:54 you probably didn't have that option you had to work you either ran with everybody else or you slowed everybody else down and you probably killed yeah if you were in a tribe of like hunter gatherers and you weren't you were a man and you weren't out hunting and gathering some of the stuff you hear about the spartans and stuff i mean you like throw you off fucking cliff yeah you're too short or too slow or to this or to that you're fucking done you're gone i would have been off the team i would have been like right i been the first guy off the cliff probably yeah because you know i have a lot of a lot of issues that i want to get i would have got ousted away. Who do you think is going to win this football game?
Starting point is 00:27:25 Eagles or Patriots? Yeah, that's a tough one. I know that the Patriots, I think everybody thinks they have it, you know, locked in with the Super Bowl last year. It was just incredible. That's crazy. You know, like comeback and everything like that. But they were getting their ass kicked. Yeah, they were getting their ass kicked.
Starting point is 00:27:42 I don't know. I mean, I don't know how good the Eagles are with foals, but I remember like a couple of years, I think it was only two years ago. Like Nick foals was awesome. I think he won like seven games in a row or something. He already had like seven touchdowns in a game or something, something crazy.
Starting point is 00:27:58 And he was doing all these great things. And then he like really bombed out and everybody in Philly hated him. And then now he's back and doing really well again. So if Nick Foles played like the Nick Foles that played a couple of years ago, that was doing really well. I think you have, you have a great game, you know, we'll see. Hopefully it's just a good game. Didn't the Eagles have another quarterback playing for a while and then
Starting point is 00:28:19 somebody else came in or I don't know. Carson Wentz. Oh yeah. And he was doing really good. Yeah. He's awesome. And it's sort of like the same situation that the Raiders had last year, but they had David Carr and he got hurt right before the playoffs and they didn't make the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:28:31 Everybody thought when Carson Wentz went down that the Eagles had no shot. And so everybody wrote them off and said, oh, there's no way they can win, but they won. So they're, they're there and they deserve to be there. And it'll be really interesting to see. I would love to see the city of Philadelphia win a title. Win something. Yeah, I'd love to see.
Starting point is 00:28:51 I would, you know, obviously Rocky Balboa, Sylvester Stallone. He's from Philly and he's pulling for them. And I see his post about them and like stuff like that fires me up. That'd be pretty cool if they won. But you know what? I'm not going to count on it because the Patriots are too damn good. It's an East Coast battle, no matter what, no matter how you slice it. The Patriots are going for their sixth Super Bowl, and this would be the first Super Bowl victory that the Eagles have ever had.
Starting point is 00:29:16 You know what I would love to hear? I would love to hear the guys like talking shit, like the East Coasters talking back and forth because you have like philadelphia fans are brutal and um and people from boston are brutal i mean like they must just be going at it right now i'm sure everyone's really fired up did you remember uh like the last time the eagles were in the super bowl uh i believe is when they had donovan and mcnab and remember terrell owens oh yeah all that mcnab and said he was fat fuck and that he was he was tired in the super bowl and uh to who wasn't really super popular with the uh media no you know he was kind of just always uh kind of a pain in the ass and just had weird ways
Starting point is 00:29:58 of drawing attention and stuff but um he was he was so irate and so mad mad that McNabb was too fat and not in good enough shape because he scrambled on a couple of plays and he just, you know, he said he was like throwing up in the, in the huddle and that they would have won the game, you know, if he was just in better shape. And, uh, you know, I don't think anybody really heard Tio because, you know, he, he kind of got that cry wolf thing. He talks so much shit that people at that point didn't really listen to him. There was a really interesting scenario that happened where we talked about it when we were doing bigger, stronger, faster, where there were a bunch of Philadelphia fans.
Starting point is 00:30:35 I think it was Terrell Owens. One of the guys got hurt in some sort of way. I mean, hurt their knee or maybe. Well, T.O. played in a Super Bowl with a broken bone in his leg him so so yeah it was to right so i remember like he was a savage in the game he fucking yeah before the super bowl though they um they went to like a bar in philadelphia and they were like asking fans about like well do you think you should get the steroid injection the cortisone and they're like the fans are like literally cheering give them the shot give them the shot give them the shot you know shoot him up shoot him up yeah and so you have one side of the world saying like steroids are bad another saying well if it's a steroid that's going to help them
Starting point is 00:31:13 get on the field shoot them up and they didn't they didn't care about torell owens they just wanted to hey man put a drug in him and get him in the game they didn't really care about him want that whoever's in that body to fucking catch a touchdown. They want that piece of meat. Yeah. To catch a touchdown pass for him. And so they can brag to their friends, you know, but it's, it's really interesting that people would say, you know, put somebody's, uh, put the game winning the game over somebody's like longevity and health. You know, like he could have got screwed up forever. You know? Yeah. People don't care.
Starting point is 00:31:42 They just, they want their team. They want their team to win. They just, they want to see. I'd probably team to win. They just, they want to see. I'd probably be guilty of that too. I'd say shoot him up. Yeah. Why not? Yeah, it should be a good, I'm excited to watch the game and, uh, you know, Tom Brady
Starting point is 00:31:55 and Bill Belichick, they'll be prepared. They, they know better than anybody else that, uh, you know, the, the toughest thing to beat is an underdog, somebody that other people aren't given a chance. And the more people paint the Eagles into a corner, probably the more fearful the Eagles will get because Tom Brady was that guy. When Drew Bledsoe got knocked out by Mo Lewis of the Jets, he set in motion a dynasty that became unstoppable.
Starting point is 00:32:23 But when Tom Brady, you know, got in that first Superbowl and the first victory they had you, there's that image of Tom Brady just putting his hands up, you know, out, out, up above his, above his head. And he's like, I don't even know what happened. He's just shaking his head. I think he's looking at his family or looking at his friends or something. And he's like, I don't even like he was in disbelief of how he kind of got
Starting point is 00:32:44 there. And so I think they know how dangerous somebody like that that's in that position like Nick Foles is in. Tom Brady's awesome. I mean, I saw this. I think Dana White posted Tom Brady with like a huge beard. Like saying this is Tom Brady, like 20, you know, 2050 or something like that. And he's like still playing with this big, long beard. And it's like, you know, how long can like that. And he's like still playing with this big, long beard. And it's like,
Starting point is 00:33:05 you know, how long can that guy last in the NFL? Like, he's not really, I mean, he's not really slowing down. Tom Brady, you know,
Starting point is 00:33:12 when he was with Michigan, um, every chance they had to not use him, they didn't, you know, every chance they had to use, um, use the other quarterback that you,
Starting point is 00:33:23 I can, I'm drawing a blank, but drew Henson, maybe. Yeah. Drew, he was a baseball player too, right? Yeah. And he, and he had quarterback that you, I can, I'm drawing a blank, but Drew Henson, maybe. Yeah. Drew, he was a baseball player too, right? Yeah. And he, and he had a look, he had the, he was a prototype looking quarterback.
Starting point is 00:33:31 He was six, five, and he was strong and he was in good shape. And every time they had a chance to play Drew Henson, they played Drew Henson. And every time Tom Brady had a chance, they won nearly. And a lot of times he would help the team come back and he was showing signs of brilliance, but he was too slow to this. Circling back around to what we were talking about, like with studies, right? Like, oh, well, in a study, Tom Brady wouldn't pass the test, right? Because like he's too short. This guy ventures 315.
Starting point is 00:34:00 He's too short. He's not strong enough. He's not fast enough. You know, he doesn't have what it takes. And so the other guy does, right? So they'll put the other guy every time, right? Like a lot of people don't get looks. Remember that happened to Doug Flutie forever when he was with the Bills.
Starting point is 00:34:12 It's like, how many times are you going to fucking pull him out of the game? Remember how good Matt Dogg was at football? He didn't really get recruited anywhere because he was too short. Right. But then everywhere he played, he did awesome. So it's a hard thing to deal with is, like, you get judged on your size, and then you have a bunch of guys that are 6'5".
Starting point is 00:34:32 Well, the Patriots are king of that. Like, you're getting judged by how you are on the field. Yeah. That's why they're winning football games with white wide receivers. Most people would think that's a fucking handicap. Yeah. And I don't know why that seems to work for them but like it just does but they always get these like little guys that are well
Starting point is 00:34:49 it's just people that they just so happen to be white probably but it's just a lot of a lot of players i'm sure there's a lot of african-american players on the team that haven't been given the right opportunity either that's a bit and they're flourishing as well you know they're they're doing really well so well it's a big deal and And you dealt with that in college, like playing football, you dealt with being small and having to play nose guard at, you know, 210 pounds against guys that were 300 pounds going to UCLA, USC and those kinds of schools. Yeah, being undersized and being a certain, then you have to figure out, okay, I'm in this position and this is where the coach wants me to be. How am I going to figure this out? You know, okay, I'll figure it out. I'll try to just get stronger.
Starting point is 00:35:28 I'll try to gain weight. You know, you just try any and everything. Okay, maybe I just need to be faster than the other guy. Or maybe I need to do this. Maybe I need to do that. And that's what I've done in life, you know. Well, speed is a huge thing, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:41 So if you can make up with speed. I remember being outside of Gold's gym one day. Or what if you just don't give up? I remember being being outside of gold's gym one day or what if you just don't give up i remember being honest you just don't what if you simply don't give up what if you always play to the whistle that other guy is going to give up you know if a play lasts eight seconds the guy's going to give you a good strong burst for three or four and if you just don't give up that guy's going to be like fuck i wasn't expecting that guy to make that tackle i remember feeling really stupid one day i was outside of gold's gym in venice and there was these big guys there and they they were all football players i think um sean merriman was there and stuff and i was like hey what's up guys how you doing talking to them and whatever and then um sproles came up darren sproles and i
Starting point is 00:36:18 was like oh i say i was like i shake his hand i'm like oh hey how you doing buddy i'm chris do you play football too yeah and he's like he's like yeah and i'm like, oh, hey, how you doing, buddy? I'm Chris. Do you play football too? Yeah. And he's like, he's like, yeah. And I'm like, oh, what's your name? He's like, Darren Sproles. I'm like, dude, like, holy shit. You're the best guy ever. He was, but he was like my height.
Starting point is 00:36:36 And he was like, he was, you know, lean. And I just couldn't believe like, holy shit. This guy's so good. Yeah. Darren Sproles, five, six, 180. But I felt so stupid. I was like, I was like, what do you, you play football too? Like, like, what do you, what do you do, buddy? You know?
Starting point is 00:36:47 And he's like, I had Darren Sproul's nice to meet you. And I was like, holy shit. You know, and he's standing there against like guys that tackle him like Sean Merriman and no one can catch him. So Jack Tom Brady, you know, he's, I think he's 40 or some shit like that or 41. Uh, he's been at it for a long time. It's been amazing.
Starting point is 00:37:05 But, you know, he was never given the right opportunity. He just would, he would never give up on anything. He'd always keep trying. And eventually he kind of cracked the code. And eventually, you know, he went to the NFL. He got the opportunity. When the opportunity came, he was always going to be ready. He was always going to be prepared.
Starting point is 00:37:23 And he even told the owner of the Patriots, he said, uh, this, you know, picking me up is going to be the greatest move you ever made just because he was very confident in himself. And he knew the amount of work that he put in.
Starting point is 00:37:34 And I saw one time in an interview, they said, um, Hey, you ever feel like going back to Michigan and being like, you know, saying to the coaches and some of the, you know,
Starting point is 00:37:44 the newspaper, people wrote those articles about how drew Henson was better and this and that. He's like, you know, saying to the coaches and some of the, you know, the newspaper, people wrote those articles about how Drew Henson was better and this and that. He's like, you ever want to go back and be like, fuck man, I told you so. And he was like, I don't have to. Yeah. That's the greatest thing ever. Like, you know, that's, that's the way it should be. You know, your silence will, will shut everybody the fuck up.
Starting point is 00:38:03 Do you want to go back to Santa Monica college? It seems like such a backward step, right? You want to go back to Santa Monica college and argue with your coach that, that you didn't play when you're a multimillionaire. Like, no, that would be so stupid,
Starting point is 00:38:14 right? Like, Hey man, I told you I'd make it one of these days. I do, you know, something you said, all those things are all part of it,
Starting point is 00:38:21 you know? And so if Tom Brady, uh, was, you know, put in Drew Henson's position, if he was their guy, if he was Michigan's guy, he wouldn't be doing what he's doing now. Yeah. He wouldn't be working on a Superbowl.
Starting point is 00:38:32 Maybe the, the, um, the thing that Tom Brady would do would be go back to Michigan and thank them. Yeah. Say, thank you. Thanks. Thanks for not believing in me, because if you believed in me, I might've not made it here. You know, if you believed in me and the road was easy, I might've not trained as hard.
Starting point is 00:38:46 I might've not, you know, fought the way I thought on the field. I might've not taken the chances I took. I might, you know. And that reminds me of our boy CT Fletcher who, you know, needs a heart transplant and CT has gone through so many things with his dad over the years, over and over again. You know, he was always waiting for his dad to say oh son i'm sorry you know for the for abusing you when you were a kid and this and that and ct finally got to the point in his life where things came around so so full circle and
Starting point is 00:39:15 ray felt good enough to go to his dad and he went to his dad and told him the exact opposite of what you think he'd say rather than saying hey you son of a bitch yeah you robbed me in my childhood you know you shouldn't have beat me you shouldn't have done this turns and that he went to his dad and he said uh hey dad you know i hope you uh forgive me for holding all this resentment uh you know from the rough childhood that i had and his dad cried and they hugged and like somehow they have a better close relationship and it's not perfect but no it's not really great but it made him feel it made him feel better it doesn't change the fact that ct fletcher's dad's still a piece of shit he still is and he did something very wrong and uh that he can't change that he can't go backwards in a race i think also
Starting point is 00:40:02 like um you know ct's he's facing a lot right now. I was, um, you know, I, I've been working with him on some stuff and, and trying to do some stuff with them. And, um, right now I think people should know he's actually at a point where he can't really do much anymore. He's, he's pretty much bed. Like I wouldn't say bedridden, but he's at the point where, um, he's not making any videos or doing anything.
Starting point is 00:40:24 Well, there's it, I mean, it's very possible that he's not with us in a month from now. How sad is that? You know, or a week or two weeks or whatever. I don't know how I'll handle that. Like, I don't know that there's anybody on the planet that's as unique as him. You know, there's nobody that's like him. There's nobody that gets, you know how excited he gets if I call him? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:43 Or if you call him? Yeah. Or anytime you call him. Yeah. Or anytime we've ever walked into his gym and stuff, he's. Mark Bell. Yeah, he's so. How the heck, super training gym. He gets all fired up. Yeah, and he gets all pumped up, you know, so.
Starting point is 00:40:56 He's got a lot of charisma. I have a friend has an app called Cameo, called book, it's like book cameo, right? And you book people to give shout outs to people. So I said to him, you know, I can like Cali muscles on there. Yeah. I said,
Starting point is 00:41:08 I think CT Fletcher would help your, your app. Right. So CT goes on there and he's making more money than anybody doing these little 30 seconds shout outs to people because people love him so much. Like the love is so strong that people like, I want CT to shout out, you know,
Starting point is 00:41:24 to me, I want him the yell and say motherfucker and everything yeah so so what he does so um he had people right like right into him say like look i'm gonna pay you you know 50 bucks to send a video to this this guy and uh and tell him to fuck off you know and stuff like that so he's gotten some crazy so he's like now i'm not saying this but your friend and he's like he wants me to tell you fuck you you know and people love it and then the people that get the message actually like it because they're like oh man i got told you know i got told by ct fletcher you know and and so i think that that's just a testament to like how awesome
Starting point is 00:42:02 he is and you know yeah you know i shot a video recently for YouTube and just basically said that he's been somebody that's inspired me. And if he's been somebody that's motivated and inspired you, uh, let's pay him back. Let's pay him back by motivating, inspiring him and something that he could use right now, which is something no one ever likes to talk about is just finances. He needs more resources to be able to be in a better position so he can get the heart transplant that he needs. And maybe just,
Starting point is 00:42:29 you know, go on his site and buy a, buy a damn t-shirt. Yeah. Yeah. Just support him. However, try to buy something.
Starting point is 00:42:33 And if you don't have money, if money's, uh, you know, not send him a message. Yeah. Send him a message, throw an eggplant up on his Instagram or something.
Starting point is 00:42:42 Tell him, tell him what's up or just, you know, like more of his stuff or subscribe to some stuff. It doesn't have to be hard. It doesn't have to be painful. You don't have to go and buy $10,000 worth of t-shirts or anything, but I think every little bit helps. And he's somebody that, uh, has done a lot for us. So why not spend a little bit of time with him and get him fired up. And when you see how he is with his family, like I got pretty tight with him and to see him, uh,
Starting point is 00:43:04 with his kids and everything and how much love there is there. I think there's seven kids and all of them work, you know, with him, for him. They're all there doing the YouTube videos and setting up his appearances and doing, you know, all this crazy stuff. It's just amazing to watch, you know, his son, Junior, his daughter, Natalie and Samson and all those guys. Those are the ones that I'm, that I know. Well, they're just, they're always there.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Like you can go to CT's house anytime. And some of the kids are there. They're just always there. And that's how it's always going to, you know, always going to be. And so, um,
Starting point is 00:43:36 I think that that's really important. He's got like, really, it's cool that, uh, we had a second wind with him, you know, he had his power lifting career.
Starting point is 00:43:43 And then, uh, for a while he disappeared. And then somebody was like, you should make a YouTube video. And there was a YouTube video that was shot by Cali muscles, uh, YouTube guy. And then boom, you know, then he's back, he's back on the scene and he's back. Uh, you know, and a lot of people, millions of people started to learn about him. I mean, he's, uh, one of the first um fitness based uh people to
Starting point is 00:44:06 have over a million subscribers legitimate icon in the business right in the fitness business and the thing is that um like look at what he's done it's so it's like crazy to um to think that somebody you know like who else do you know that would be like in their 50s that's like i'm just gonna start a youtube channel and get 2 million followers. Like that's unheard of. I mean, like the audience is young, you know, you know, that you deal with it all the time. The audience is young. They're looking for like the young blood, the new people, but most of the time, older
Starting point is 00:44:37 people don't click. Yeah. They don't click, you know, and that's, and that's the problem. But you know what it is? He clicks because he's real. He's always himself and he's, he's motivational. You know, I think that's probably what it is. Extremely motivational. And a lot of people need, they need, they need that motivation. They need something to kind of kick them in the pants. They need something to get them started.
Starting point is 00:44:55 How have you, uh, been able to stay motivated? You know, like you, you came through a lot, like you lost a lot of weight, you've had hip surgeries. I mean, you've had all kinds of things to overcome an addiction. You had all kinds of things to overcome an addiction you had all kinds of things that uh would put most people out most people would just put their hands up and say oh fuck it man i can't figure this out how have you been able to just fucking stick around i don't know it's uh yeah everything is you know so i guess um a big part of it is like always believing that there is something bigger out there. Like for some reason, I always thought that like I would be really successful. I always thought like I had all these pictures in my mind and I'm not even close to where
Starting point is 00:45:36 I want to be. And it's kind of like, so I guess my mindset changed. Like before when I was doing drugs and drinking every day and everything, like I was a bum. I wasn't living up to my potential, but I would really say the way that I stayed motivated is you. I think that's the number one, the number one key is having somebody in my family that I inspired, that I brought into the gym, that I said, Hey, this might be pretty good for you. good for you. And then you sort of turned around to this whole thing where like, now I feel like, you know, lazy if I'm not doing, you know, doing what you're doing or keeping up or, um, but also I think like our dad and our mom, they just have, they have so much love. There's like,
Starting point is 00:46:21 there's just always so much love there that, uh, it's hard to fail. It's hard to, it's hard to like look them in the eye and know that you're like doing drugs or drinking every day. Like that's, that's an impossibility. Like to, to like, look like I couldn't go back to doing that and look our dad in the eyes and say like, I know you're proud of me. You know what I mean? Like I get choked up talking about it because he's so awesome. And like, when would our dad ever sit home and drink and not, you know, not take care of his, uh, his kids or responsibility? Like never. So what the, what the hell was I doing?
Starting point is 00:46:47 Yeah. I think, you know, it's, uh, man, you know, like when, when somebody just, when somebody just forges forward every day and you just don't allow yourself to slip, you know, um, you keep yourself on a short leash, you keep yourself accountable and you keep yourself, uh, tied to things tightly. These things are important. Your family's fucking important. You know, your, your kids are important.
Starting point is 00:47:11 I just said this to you before we were just having a conversation at Starbucks with some of the people that, that work for you. And I was just saying like, you don't really, you don't really, you, you have insecurities and you have like weaknesses, but like, you don't ever show it to me. And like, that actually helps me because I'm always like, I'll come to you and be like, well, I'm just afraid that this is going to fail. I'm just, I've never heard, once heard you say that. And I'm like, well, maybe, maybe that's the answer is to not ever think that it's never going to go your way. You know, think about like your, your favorite movie, you know, for us, it's Rocky, you know? And, uh, you think about like something happens in Rocky or something happens in Braveheart.
Starting point is 00:47:50 Each time throughout the film, something happens and then it causes a reaction for something stronger to happen. You would never be inspired by watching somebody who would see something that would piss them off or make them mad or or would entice them to go do something to take an action against something and then they would stay on their couch and they'd flip through instagram like that wouldn't be a motivating movie no instead you see something like in rocky when uh when they're when they're in the meat locker and they're both frustrated about their life and paulie says it's cold inly says, it's cold in here. You know, it's freezing in here. And he punches the meat. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:26 And then Rocky fucking pushes him to the side. But Rocky's not like, hey, let me get that out of my Instagram story. Can you hit that again? But hey, from this angle, oh shit, it's a little bit dark in here. We need more light. They're not doing anything like that.
Starting point is 00:48:38 They're living in that moment and they're getting fired up and they're getting motivated right in that very moment. I know it's a weird analogy, but that really is how shit needs to be. You need to keep forging forward. You need to keep putting one foot in front of the other and not think about how down you are about something. Of course you're going to be fucking down.
Starting point is 00:48:56 Anytime you go up, you're going to be down. Something that you said to me, I think that people can get as an analogy. That really makes a lot of sense. We do a lot of, in super training, we do a lot of in super training, we do a lot of pushing the sled, you know, and stuff like that. And, um, the tank, yeah, the tank we use. But, uh, you said to me one day, um, if you just don't look where you're going and you just put your head down and you just put one foot in front of the other, you'll get to your goal. And so I applied to that. That was was like i don't know the first time you said it was like a year ago to me and and i was like so when i'm dieting when i'm like trying to
Starting point is 00:49:31 stay on this keto diet i think every day like i'm pushing the sled with my head down i don't care where i'm going one of your guys just asked me how long have you been eating like this because you know you look better every time i see you and i'm like you know what i don't really that's uh aaron i think right yeah he lost like 60 pounds aaron lost 60 but to me like the best thing is that the best thing is not me losing you know 50 pounds or whatever it is the the thing that i like is that that guy aaron who's a great lifter he's got got kids, you know, and, and he's a big guy. He's well over 300 pounds. So for him to get down in weight and be around for his kids and be like, he's talking about playing with his kids and going for a walk with them now.
Starting point is 00:50:15 And, you know, things are better now, you know, and just to hear those kinds of things. Yeah. Jessica Smith, her dad's down under 300 pounds, you know, and he's, he was up over 400 pounds. dad's down under 300 pounds, you know, and he's, he was up over 400 pounds. I think a lot of times you don't know the depth of, um, you know, how you inspire people either, because like a lot of people won't really come up and just like, tell you, you know, like, Hey, that's stuff that will last forever. That's not even like, it's on a different level than motivation or inspiration. That's, uh, that's just literally being able to change someone's life.
Starting point is 00:50:43 You were able to give them enough momentum to, to carry them through to where they can kind of get over the hump. The interesting thing though is, is that, and it's hard to grasp when you're on the other side, you're not feeling great about yourself. The hard thing to grasp is that you will, you will feel a lot better.
Starting point is 00:51:00 And not only will you feel better, you'll feel fucking awesome. Yeah. There's all these corners every single day that you have all these opportunities to cut corners you know all these top opportunities to stall you have all these opportunities to fall behind think about where you're falling behind when you get in your car and you're about to go somewhere fucking get there don't fuck around on your phone when you when you park somewhere and you're about to go you're about to go into somewhere fucking get the fuck out of your car and get there your phone will always be
Starting point is 00:51:28 there it will be there later on there's nothing urgent that you need to see there's not a text message there's not an email there's not a fucking instagram post that you have to see at that very moment there's no one ever stop wasting your time when your alarm goes off in the morning wake the fuck up get up and get going. Think about it being a race. Everything's a race. Everything's a competition. Get out in front of people and you won't even have to look at things being a competition anymore. Yeah. Well, there you go. I just got beat up for waking up late again. I think I'm not sure about that, but no, but seriously, I, you know, you're right. A lot of people just, they're not doing
Starting point is 00:52:03 right. And so what I get, what drives me crazy is I go on Instagram. People tell me all the time, maybe you should post more. You should do YouTube videos. And I'm like, no, I'm doing shit. I am not there to inspire you or motivate you. If what I do motivates you, that's great. But I don't, that's not what I'm, it bothers, it bothers me when people like, all I want to do is motivate people. Well, to motivate people, you got to make a movie.
Starting point is 00:52:31 You got to make a slingshot. You got to bench a certain weight. You got to look a certain way. You got to, you know, you have to do things better than other people do them to inspire them. There's no other way around it. Is Michael Hearn going to give you some intelligent speech that's going to change your life? Probably not. But if Michael Hearn simply shares his life with you and how he lives his life, that could change your fucking life forever.
Starting point is 00:52:53 And you could be extremely motivated because that guy fucking lives his life day in and day out being a bad motherfucker. You know what's great is- He's just always making the right decisions. And you look at him, you're like, fuck this guy. I can't handle it anymore. Yeah, he's one of the people that, it was like one of my first friends
Starting point is 00:53:09 in California. He's great. We came up together and so we had. But it's annoying. You're like, fuck. That's what I'm saying. He's jacked.
Starting point is 00:53:17 He's shredded. It's like, I almost want to apologize to Mike O'Hearn sometimes for the resentment I feel towards the fact that like he's so freaking perfect. Like you're like, well, he will continually wash his hands of people. You know, he's not going to he's not going to get it.
Starting point is 00:53:33 He's not going to get his hands dirty. He's not going to get stuck. A lot of people tend to get stuck. They get stuck on the words that you say and make no mistake about it. He's using that and he's using that negative energy as coal to fucking stoke the fire that's inside of him. He's definitely using it. And it's like, if anybody thinks he doesn't have like- But he'll just say, I'm proud of you, bro.
Starting point is 00:53:52 And then he'll fucking walk on. And you're like, oh my God. I just told him he was a dick. He has just as many- Why is he telling me he's proud of me? You know, it's great. You made that Mike O'Tren, you're not my friend video. And he's like, I love your brother, man.
Starting point is 00:54:03 Your brother is so funny. And he's like, not sure if it's real or not he doesn't fucking know he doesn't know and he doesn't care because he's like that stuff doesn't affect he has a wonderful life he created a wonderful life for himself and that's what a lot of people those are the examples we need to uh to look to i think you know and you can say what you want about him i've known him for like 20 plus years and um it's just like every day, it's the same thing in like in and out, same thing. He's got a whole like legion of people that sort of follow him around the gym. And what's really great to see is that like these waves of workout partners, like come into the gym. I was one of them came into the gym, trained with
Starting point is 00:54:39 them for a couple of years. I dropped off. I probably lasted longer than most people, but most people come in and like last a couple months with them, you know, cause he'll say, be here at four in the morning, you know, let's go. And,
Starting point is 00:54:49 and they're squatting, you know, squat like 700 pounds or close to it at like six o'clock, you know, five o'clock in the morning. How old is Michael Hearn? He's 48, I believe,
Starting point is 00:55:00 or 47. He might've turned. And if you want to find where he is, you go to Gold's gym at four o'clock and he's on the fucking step mill or whatever. Every day. And his dog is right next to him. Not on the step mill. The dog is on the treadmill.
Starting point is 00:55:12 That would kind of be amazing. His dog does go on a treadmill, right? Dog goes on a treadmill. Yeah. Striker. That's awesome. Anyway, guys, that's all the time we got. We're going to bring this one in.
Starting point is 00:55:23 Strength is never a weakness. Weakness is never strength. Catch you guys later.
