Back Project family, how's it going?
Now, we like to look good in the gym and out of the gym.
That's why you always see Mark and I and Andrew is stepping up on the short, short game,
wearing shorts from Viore and clothes from Viore.
And honestly, the number one compliment that I've seen that I've gotten and even Mark's gotten is,
damn, your butt looks good.
And that's because, well, the clothes we wear make our booties look delicious.
Andrew, how can they get it?
Yeah, you guys both have pretty big wagons uh you guys can head over to viore.com slash power project

weird right now are you insinuating you gobble something what are you gobbling andrew that's not
what i said are you in the closet andrew I mean, from the comments from our last video.
I was just curious what the macros were of gobbledygook.
I've seen Andrew come out of the closet before.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He's like, hey, I found the broom.
That's right.
I would go to the-
Oh, thank you, Andrew.
I'd come out of the closet like, dude, I have a new all-time high in my body weight because
I'd go away myself.
Yeah.
I know.
Yeah. We have in the closet gym there. Yeah. new like all-time high in my body weight because i'd go away myself yeah and now was it yeah we
have in the closet gym there yeah i've never seen you come out of the closet because you never you
know you never go in there to do anything you leave that work for other people i've been out
the whole time do you guys want to watch train wreck now or dog or anything that passed the
fucking time i think actually let's watch the whole
movie we should do that that'd be great you have a power project watch party of
train wreck I've never seen it by the way there was that uh that old show do
you remember Andrew like with the like had the back of like a silhouette of
like creatures watching a movie no and they were like talk trash on the movie.
Oh no,
I don't.
I have no idea.
Wait,
it was like a,
it had a really weird name.
It was like on like adult swim or something.
Right.
Yeah.
Okay.
I've seen commercials.
It wasn't like a whole movie,
but it was like a,
they would just talk shit.
Yeah.
They would just talk shit.
What we should do is there was this one podcast.
Was it a show or wait,
I think it was a show.
It was like a cartoon show.
Okay.
Robot chicken, Aqua team hunger force. Which one show okay robot chicken aqua team hunger force which one is it dude aqua team hunger force um space
robot chicken sounds familiar but it was like robot chickens when he just like flipped through
the channels like yeah and it's fucking crazy and they use those like a claymation a lot of the time
was their art form it was that i don't know they were just like watch like parts of tv shows or movies and they would just talk shit on it maybe it was just a segment of that time was their art form. Maybe it was that. I don't know. They would just watch parts of TV shows or movies
and they would just talk shit on it.
Maybe it was just a segment of that show.
It was great, though.
It would fit that.
I think it might have been a segment of...
It sounds like robot chicken.
In the comments, please,
if you guys know what we're talking about.
We just sit there and watch the new Obi-Wan
and just eat popcorn and just be in amazement.
A lot of Star Wars fans are really hating the new Obi-Wan.
I kind of dig it.
These fans are crazy. They new Obi-Wan. I kind of dig it. These fans are crazy.
They're unreasonable,
I think.
No, honestly,
Star Wars fans
are the most unreasonable.
I can understand it.
The last three movies,
shit.
Like,
they fucked it up.
Dude,
don't talk about
the last three movies.
Quit shoving that in my face.
With your agenda.
How corporate of you to talk about star wars when obi-wan just came out i'm a i'm a corporate star wars show paid by disney dude no wonder i'm supposed to see oh
i did see two plaids up you need to bleep that out of the podcast real talk they can't know
anything about disney there was a podcast that they would watch one movie like once a year,
and they would talk about it.
And it was like a yearly – I don't remember what it was, though.
But they would watch one movie and then just talk about it,
and that was the whole podcast was they would just re-watch the movie
over and over and over and over until they just started getting sick of it,
like literally ill.
We're going to get to some fun stuff in this short little episode but we want to first watch
i've never seen train wreck but mark mentioned this and it's hilarious everybody let's watch it
amy
is that one in a box i've read too you I've read, too. You've read, too.
Is this guy ever going to shut up?
Please watch the movie.
Stop.
No, that's not right.
Don't do this to me.
Why is that, really?
Listen, you always do this to me.
You show up to these places.
You put me in a situation.
I'm a big guy.
Everybody wants to fight the big guy.
Yeah, you are.
Hey, Mark Wahlberg, shut your bitch up.
Mark Wahlberg? Me? Who else looks like Mark Wahlberg, shut your bitch up. Mark Wahlberg?
Me?
Who else looks like Mark Wahlberg?
Your girl?
Mark Wahlberg's like 150 pounds.
I'm 250 lean.
That's right.
I look like Mark Wahlberg ate Mark Wahlberg.
Your muscles aren't a fucking problem.
It's your yapping girlfriend.
Just say fuck you.
I will fuck you.
I will fuck you. I will fuck you.
You're going to enter me?
You hear what he said?
Are you going to enter me?
What are you talking about right now?
I'm just trying to intimidate you.
You're just talking about raping him.
You're not about that life, champ.
I can see it.
I am about that life.
No, no, no.
I will get crazy up in here.
You like movies?
We'll make a movie.
We'll make Mama Say Knock You Out starring my fist in your dick hole this dude has to be the corniest muscle white dude I've ever seen in my
fucking life okay Coco beware you know what you're being an asshole, alright? You know what I do with assholes? I lick them. What? Okay.
Okay?
Yeah, what do you do with that?
Oddly enough, our audience was the black guy in this one.
Or some of them.
No doubt. And that's, that is unlikely.
Oh, God.
Anyway, that was really fucking good good i need to watch that movie john
cena he's i don't i don't think people realize how fucking funny he is people need to watch
peacemaker peacemaker was so good damn it and the boys y'all gotta watch the boys oh get to the
prostate get to the prostate uh either they think we're just making another gay joke or they'll have understood
season three episode yeah we're referencing it never mind it doesn't matter it doesn't matter
but what does matter and what i think is actually really important is we uh we you know we had the
podcast with world's strongest gay and his boyfriend joey and they were in town for world's
strongest man because he was competing so we did the podcast with him and if
you guys see we do podcasts and then we make smaller bits from the podcast called power bites
and um so that people can see highlighted parts of the podcast so then they'll go and watch the
podcast and the power bites are shorter so you know people are more likely to watch a power
bite than a full two-hour podcast so uh it just so happened that world's strongest the gate came
in recently and the bites that we put out came out during pride month and uh some people in
our audience thought that uh it was because of pride month that we were trying to line everything
up trying to line up no it it wasn't like it literally just lined up that way. If they only knew how irresponsible or unprepared or like,
there's no way we would have been able to pull that off if we tried to on purpose.
No, no.
Like, fuck no.
Now, we've had Rob Kearney on the show before.
Yeah, he's been on the show before.
It wasn't during Pride Month, but he was on the show.
I think last time he was on was what was around the time of the Arnold, right?
Yep.
We've had him on before and we talked to him before.
I thought it was a good conversation and I thought it was a good way to get to hear a voice.
Because, I don't know, a lot of times if you start talking with your friends about these situations about um people being gay
it's only it's all like theory and it's all like we're just talking about it but we don't
fucking know anything about it let's talk to somebody who is in it let's talk to he's in a
marriage with another guy you know let's talk to somebody let's communicate and let's uh what are
the problems that they face how are they different from other couples um what are some of the things that um they have in common you know with other couples and i think that was the
interesting thing is like i found their story there was a handful of things that they had in
common uh but one of the major things just being was that they're in love and i think that what
they brought up on the show was
really good about when people think of gay sex and they think of uh males they think of gay sex
and it's easy to kind of go to that and people joke about it and stuff but uh the situation with
those two obviously they're attracted to each other but there's a lot more going on than just
that they're actual couple they actually love other. They care about each other just the way any other couple does.
And they weren't over, like a lot of people were like, you know, there's an agenda here.
We don't need, because the title of the bite that got the most vitriol in the comments was why gay representation matters.
And a lot of comments, first off, there's a lot of people unsubscribing.
And I mean, just to be perfectly honest, I'm happy they're gone.
But there is quite a few comments of people saying, you know, there doesn't need to be any more representation. We see it more than enough. I don't need to see that here. Like we haven't had many gay people on the podcast. Like, and that's not because we're personally not trying to.
It's just because in strength sports, you don't see many gay athletes.
It's first off rare.
We bring on athletes.
Rob is a crazy strong, strong man.
Like as far as his performance, he's at the top.
He also happens to be gay and you don't see much of that.
So we here, we like to understand people's different experiences.
And Rob has a very unique voice and a very unique experience being at the point he is at the pinnacle or close to the pinnacle of a certain sport while also being gay.
You don't see that often.
So I thought and we thought it was pretty interesting to have a conversation with him.
don't see that often so i thought and we thought it was pretty interesting to have a conversation with him um secondly one thing is like on this podcast too i think it's so cool that we get to
talk to people who have who have very different backgrounds it doesn't matter if like if the
background the difference is their ethnicity the difference is they were born in another country
the difference is they're gay.
It doesn't matter.
Different lived experiences are interesting to hear about because, I mean, I get so surprised
when I hear a certain person has gone through certain things where I can't even fathom.
It's like, wow, you dealt with that.
How?
Like, what was life like for you?
That's an interesting thing.
But in the comments, like we'll read some of those comments. It's just so interesting how
immediately, I guess, disturbed certain individuals were about just hearing about two other people's
experience. Like you won't understand what that's like because number one, like I don't have that
many gay friends. Like I have a few, but like that's, that's not many. I don't talk to these
people on a daily basis just because they're not my close friends right so it's interesting to talk to somebody that's from a totally different
community and see what life is like i there shouldn't be any type of problem with that
we don't really have this in our society that much i mean they're i understand where people can
maybe be like annoyed or threatened in some way.
Because when you watch TV,
it seems like every sitcom has some sort of gay representation
and it's got a mix of just like this podcast right here.
Gay guy, a black guy.
Yeah, let's make sure you can picture NBC probably doing that
and piecemealing it together.
I will say, recently I have been seeing, cause they do something called, um,
I don't know what they call it, but I've noticed lumping where it's like, they're like, okay,
well we do need a person of color, but we do also need somebody who's not able bodied.
So let's just cram them in one.
We'll get the black guy in the wheelchair.
I'm like, bitch, can't we just have him?
Like what the fuck i'm seeing that
but anyway keep going so i didn't even know what quote lumping was but as soon as you started i was
like oh i know exactly what you mean yeah lumping it lumping it all together it's like fuck we
forgot five different people now let's put it all in one but we are we are in like a different time you know we're in we're in a different time and um
people are more open to having like representations of each other it's not the 50s it's not
uh you know or the 60s where the newscaster comes on and he speaks very quote-unquote white and he's
uh you know got the suit and tie on and real buttoned up and he's got a very particular
message like there's a lot more going on these days than uh than just that and i i think it's He's got the suit and tie on and real buttoned up and he's got a very particular message.
Like there's a lot more going on these days than just that.
And I think it's a good thing.
And I think it's a good thing to explore and it's a good thing for all of us just to kind of like understand how different people are.
And then I think it's totally fine to have an opinion of these things. That's part of living in America, part of having free speech.
It's part of – it's just part of America.
You're entitled to your own belief.
You can have your own belief.
But what frustrates me and annoys me is when people are outwardly angered by it so quickly.
You know, like, did you even listen to the bite?
I mean, this is why I don't look at comments,
especially when it comes to YouTube stuff,
because I don't think people are making a legitimate judgment call.
It's not like they assessed.
I heard both sides of the conversation,
and here's what I ascertained, you know?
They're not like making a really educated comment.
They're just mad and they think that we're virtue signaling or we're trying to make money off of something.
But literally, Rob is a friend.
I communicate with him all the time.
I communicate with him year-round pretty much, and especially around his big competitions.
I always wish him luck, and I'm a friend and a fan of his,
and I wish him continued success.
And so, yeah, we just had him on the show,
and we just want to kind of uncover and expose.
I mean, where else are you finding where top high-level athletes are out
and they're talking about it openly?
You're not really seeing it that much in public.
I mean, there was like a football player a few years ago,
but like is there more than one NFL football player?
Come on.
Just pure numbers-wise, yeah, of course there is.
Are there other power lifters?
Are there other people out there that haven't opened up
and haven't talked about it yet?
That's why we're talking to him,
so that people don't have to hide their identity and hide who they are.
Yeah. One of the comments on the full length episode that, you know, kind of like whatever caught my attention.
But somebody who just they were like, I don't know if they weren't trying to be respectful, obviously,
but they were just like, hey, like, just talk about the lifting and exercise.
Leave the relationship out of it or leave the bedroom stuff out of it um because it was a couple right they were a couple and we we
got into some of the relationship stuff yeah they're basically saying let's talk about the
lifting keep the relationship stuff somewhere else don't shove it in my face and my my my first
thought was like okay well we've had many couples on the podcast. Are you going to go to each and every one of those episodes and be like, don't talk about the relationship stuff?
Because we definitely talk about that shit.
When we talk about Ben Patrick and Celia Patrick's relationship, there's a lot of people who are like, this is goals.
But it's because they could relate to it.
That's the thing.
They could relate and it was comfortable.
So something was just, well, not slightly for just it was comfortable so something was just well not
slightly for just some people but something was different and people freaked out yeah
it's i think it's okay if people think it's like if you think it's gross that's fine it's your
opinion you're entitled to it i just don't understand like being outwardly mad at somebody
or or being malicious towards somebody yeah you can think that that's not for me. I would never do that.
I think that's different.
I think that's weird.
I think it's strange.
But to outwardly say it or to outwardly go on the computer and type and try to be hateful,
I just don't think you're contributing much to anything. Yeah.
There's a few comments that take the religion aspect of it, like, oh, this is sinful, et
cetera.
At this point, I don't even think it's really worth the time to
go into that because again i mean i'm christian but you know you're supposed to love everybody
i know the bible says that that's sin but at the end of the day it's like treat them with respect
as you would with any other human being and it's just it's it's somewhat sad the bible repeatedly
talks about how everybody's a sinner everything there's
a lot of sense and everybody is a way to do it but yeah yeah like aren't you not supposed to cut
your hair or some shit like that i don't fucking know like there's a lot of depending on your
religion there could be like a lot of rules yeah that even though i was i was raised christian
i've gone through the bible multiple times um there as i've as i've gotten older i've just
begun to just think a lot deeply about certain beliefs in the Bible.
And it's not so literal.
But, you know, one thing that I think is also kind of, you know, I appreciate that even though we have people on that we may disagree with certain things, we're able to have a conversation about it.
Like that's what this podcast is about.
It's about learning a lot of things, getting the fuck out of our echo chamber.
And one aspect that I was thinking of was I was like, okay, why are some of these dudes leaving some of these comments?
I mean I get it.
Maybe there's like they got nothing better to do, et cetera, because I haven't left a mean comment on anything.
Like it just kind of seems like
a waste of time. But if I would make an avatar of what some of these dudes are, and I've looked at
some of the profiles just to kind of see, it's generally an individual that lies within the
other side, right? The other side being a majority. There were some comments of people saying
representation doesn't matter. We have more representation than anything these days.
And how it would feel to be someone who, you know, media and everything you've always
represented positively and what everything that you've been done has been seen as right and
correct for years and decades. That's how it has
been. And to suddenly have individuals who are gay, individuals who are of other ethnicities,
and like I think in the United States, I think black people make up about 12% of the population.
We are a minority and gay people are also a minority as far as the population concerned and so are other ethnicities but to see so many other things I guess represented as much even though they are
not the majority I could understand how some people feel threatened or feel as if some of
their territory is being taken because of this representation.
The title of the bite was Why Gay Representation Matters.
At the end of the day, we're not saying here that gay representation needs to be the thing,
but America is a melting pot of different types of people.
You go to Sweden, you're going see like that's where they make white people
these European countries you know I mean you're not gonna see many black people many Mexican people
whatever like I've asked people from some parts of those countries if they like a lot of times
they've never seen someone that's black yeah you go early you go I know a few guys in Japan that
are black and like they're like man some of the questions I get from people, but I get it and they get it.
They're like, yeah, like, you know, some of these children, they look at me, they're like, oh, oh, they don't understand what they're looking at.
Why is he so dark?
Like, it's understandable.
There's nothing malicious behind it.
But like, obviously, that is not the majority.
You go to Africa, that's where black people are made.
So you're not going to see that many white people or other people over there.
And it's like you come to the U.S., everyone's trying to come here.
Everyone's trying.
It's like it's an amazing place to be.
So much fucking opportunity.
But we got to understand there's a lot of different types of people here.
And media here, people want to see themselves on screen.
Go ahead.
I think when something's for somebody, people automatically think that that means it's against themselves.
It's not.
So like there's black colleges.
There's all kinds of different things in this country where people are like, well, isn't that racist?
Like why is there a black college?
It's like I don't – do I got to explain this to you?
Like, this is fucking so stupid.
Like, of course there needs to be like, you know,
there needs to be people in our community that take charge
and that start things that they feel have holes in them.
And so whether it's black or Spanish or whomever,
starting up something that they feel is a good idea to get more representation and to drive funding in a particular way or maybe do things that weren't previously looked at in that community as much, it makes tons of sense to draw attention to it. So like gay pride month, people, you know, they get upset about that. They get upset about black history month.
And sometimes you hear people say,
well,
it should be every month and it should just be history.
And back to the point where Andrew was talking,
I agree.
I would love to sit down with Joey and Rob and just talk lifting the entire
time,
but we're not there yet.
Like hopefully next time they
come on the show we can just fucking talk about training yeah and then maybe sucking dick gets
popular
and maybe they got some good tips for our ladies you know you never know
have our ladies come think about that hey man dude they gotta know what's going on
anyway anyway you see my point who knows how to pleasure man i mean better than a man have our ladies come think about that hey man dude they gotta know what's going on anyway
anyway you see my point who knows how to pleasure man i mean better than a man
we can't like fuck we went there we went there that's my boy cheston he's like i would he goes
you know i give you the best blowjob i'm like get the fuck out of here
yo i'm like get away from me the amount of people all like actually Yo. I'm like, they're going to go away from me.
The amount of people,
like,
actually,
it was a few people.
They're like,
man,
I see why these Power Project guys,
they make all these gay jokes on you.
They were closeted.
Like,
can we not joke around?
Fuck it.
Hey,
I am what you want me to be.
So,
hey,
whatever you think I am,
hey,
baby,
that's what I am.
Yeah,
Eminem has a good song about that.
What's it called?
The Way I Am. Oh, I think that's what it am yeah eminem has a good song about that what's it called uh
the way i am oh i think that's what it is i am whatever you say i am if i wasn't then i don't
fucking say yeah yeah uh and then it and i say i just wanted to read uh at least this one comment
then you can uh read some we should read some good ones too though. So this one is just from FS44.
So FS number four, number four.
If you're gay, then just choose not to be.
We live in a society, so become useful instead of spreading harmful ideas to satisfy your virtue signaling needs.
Five thumbs up.
So five likes. And then comment under that from Single Mom,
who happens to also have a rainbow color on her avatar, which is weird.
100%.
And stay away from my kiddos.
Four likes.
So that's just wanted to...
That's really weird.
That sounds so odd that it almost sounds like facetious in some way.
You know?
It's like...
But that's like some of the... I don't like say the word toxicity,
but like the toxicness of the comments.
Just choose not to be.
Yeah.
Oh, you mean, oh.
Perfect.
Thank you.
I can be accepted everywhere.
My parents will love me.
I'm sorry.
I'm just like, get the fuck out of here.
When I had Jene Croc on years ago, you just get into these topics where you're like, this is a really, really hard life.
I don't think anyone's really – Jene, formerly Matt Croc as a powerlifter, most of said insert pronoun there.
Very complicated.
You know, Matt had two children.
He was married previously.
And then as Janae was still married for a while,
like, and then never had surgery.
So was still, still had male parts,
but identified as a female.
What was cool though about having Janae on the show is she explained,
this is fucking complicated.
You're confused?
She's like, I'm fucking confused.
Like, I'm thoroughly confused by my own actions.
She's like, I'm working on it.
I'm trying this transition, but it's just hard.
I'm trying this transition, but it's just hard.
And she just kind of explained like how hard it is to manage herself and then all the outside world.
And so that's why a lot of people in those positions will go to clubs. That's why those people are attracted to gay pride parades and things like that.
gay pride parades and things like that.
It's like, it's as frustrating as it might be for some other people,
it's really doing a lot of people a lot of good
because they don't have anywhere else to go
because they're outcasts of society in a lot of ways
or they feel that way.
At least from the stuff they've shared with me.
We haven't talked to a lot of gay people
and we haven't talked to tons of trans people or anything.
Just in the two experiences I've had, it seems like a very difficult life.
I don't think anyone's out there trying to live that life to try to be different or because being gay is like in fashion somehow.
I don't think someone's like going out of their way to experiment with it.
So I think stuff like that is really just kind of horrible in a way.
Power Project family, how's it going?
I want to talk to you guys about Within You Supplements,
which is developed by Mark Bell.
The cool thing about Within You is that it's not a crazy supplement line,
just has a crazy amount of unnecessary supplements.
They stick to what is necessary.
Whey protein, electrolytes, and the electrolytes are dope
because they have amino acids and they have zinc.
Then there's fasting gum.
So we talk a lot about intermittent fasting on the podcast, and this fasting gum has apigenin,
rudin, and caffeine, which can actually help you prolong a fast.
It's really freaking cool.
It was developed by Mark and Joel Green, who we've had on the podcast multiple times.
So you guys got to check it out.
Andrew, how can they get it?
Yes, that's over at markbellslingshot.com.
And at checkout, enter promo code POWERPROJECT10 to save 10% off your entire order.
Links to them down in the description as well as the podcast show notes.
Yeah, man.
It really is.
And that's why, again, it's like I get it.
I get some of the guys.
I'm going to say it's probably mostly dudes, probably mostly guys in the majority.
So probably mostly white guys that were getting kind of angry from it.
And again, from the vantage view of kind of always being the majority, from the vantage view of always being normal,
you see yourself around in almost every community and definitely every school you're the majority.
I was the only black kid in many of
my classes um i get what it's like to be like oh that's not me that's not right that's not what i
grew up with that's not what everybody told me is correct actually it was wild because it was only
back in what 2012 that gay people couldn't get married and like we think about that now at least
you know some of us think about that now like it's
ridiculous i mean even if you don't agree with the lifestyle of certain people you're then just
going to cut their right from being able to be married to each other like that's kind of stupid
but like when that was being voted on there were a there were a crazy amount of people who were like
yeah it's adam and eve not Adam and Steve. There's no,
like,
why should they be able to get married?
Cause they're fucking human beings who love each other.
Like it's,
I get it.
I'm not gay or not gay,
whatever.
But if they,
if they love each other,
they should be able to do what they want to do in the free United States of America.
Come on,
dog.
It's not that fucking wild.
You know,
is it something that we're able to reproduce that way?
No.
Nope.
Is it different?
Apparently, right?
Because if – it's out of the norm, right?
Like if it was – if we could reproduce that way, like that would be the way.
But it is different and then people just – I think they just get, I think they feel threatened by it.
And again, I point back to when something is for a group
or for somebody,
even if it's just something as simple as a compliment,
you're thinking like, how come I don't,
what about me?
Like, how come I don't get a compliment?
How come you're not talking about me?
And it's like, well, in this situation,
we're highlighting this person or these particular people.
You are probably getting highlighted.
I mean, it's almost like a conversation with a child.
Like today is this person.
Today is Andrew's birthday.
Like you don't get a present on Andrew's birthday.
Shut the fuck up.
Obviously, you're not going to talk to a kid that way.
But sometimes I think that's the way we are as adults.
Someone's like, hey, Andrew, nice shirt,
and then you're feeling left out.
What is my shirt, stupid?
I think that's a lot of times we feel threatened by that,
just simply other people getting attention
and getting a focus shifted on them.
Like real talk,
99% of the people we've had on this podcast have been straight.
Like let's really think about that.
99 or like 98, right?
We've had Matt and Janae Kroc and Rob Kearney twice.
And I don't know if there have been any others in there, but we do it once.
And the angry white boys come out to play.
And again, I have nothing against white people at all.
I got to say this.
But looking at the comments, looking at the avatars, it was angry white boys.
So, I mean, come on, y'all.
Like, it's not that big of a fucking deal.
I want to comment.
I want to read this comment from somebody.
And it was a positive comment.
Speaking on representation in general, me seeing more ADHD and autistic athletes, bodybuilders, and nutrition experts open up about their condition has carried me further than anything.
When someone can look into a community and see a place for themselves, they're able to visualize success in a way that wasn't there before.
We should want this for everyone. And I got to say, again, like coming from a minority point of view, an individual who you're not seen as much, you don't seem as much of yourself in certain fields, in certain outlets or whatever.
It's nice when you see somebody doing something that looks like you at a high level because there's an aspect of seeing anybody do something at a high level,
which is like,
yeah, that's great.
But when,
honestly,
when,
when I,
when I've,
when I was younger and I saw like black people working in a fucking hospital,
I was like,
God,
that's really cool.
Cause I don't see many other kids in my classrooms that look like me or,
you know,
like black dude on the show Scrubs back in the day.
Hey, Kurt.
He was really he was really fucking dope.
But it is important.
Like y'all got to understand.
I mean, I get it.
You see yourself all the time, but certain people don't get to see themselves much.
And when they do, it really does mean something.
And the reason why it doesn't mean something to you is because it's normal for you.
But for myself or for anybody else who isn't a majority, when you do see someone that looks like you that's killing it, you're like, hey, what's up?
Like there's a point of commonality.
So there's nothing to hate about that.
There's nothing to – it's just so – it's wild to me who uh said that comment
that was yeah that was great that was like yeah he's actually in the discord insight yeah he's
in the discord his profile is the adhdm but he's a trainer i forgot what is his uh all the people
coming out talking about depression and anxiety and then other people like, what other people feel that way too. Yeah.
Fuck. And you know, they're like, oh shit, I didn't realize, uh, that if, you know,
now it's relatable. Some, but that person might say something that somebody else said the exact
same way. Uh, but now it's more relatable to them and maybe they'll go do that workout and maybe
they'll help themselves get out of the stress and anxiety that they have. And just to that point,
like I've only been depressed one time.
I told you guys about it when I couldn't run when I was 13.
But, you know, fitness for me saved me out of that.
Right.
So sometimes when I hear people that are going through certain things as far as anxiety and depression, one of my knee jerks reaction is like, go fucking work out.
Go get some sun.
But again, since like that's not my like that's not my perspective. It's like, oh, you're going through this, this.
That's a unique experience that I've never dealt with before.
All right.
What you're dealing with is special.
That is a unique experience.
Let me learn more about it.
That's all we're fucking trying to do.
We lack experience in many areas.
Oh, yeah.
So we're trying to talk to as many people from
different experiences as possible so we can understand their worldview that's why i think
it's like that's why i'm really interested in learning other religions why primarily because
it'll help me understand why certain people think the way they do about certain things
because if all i knew growing up was christianity and i bump into some person who's a muslim or
some person who's a budd some person who's a Buddhist or some
person who just grew up in something else and they say something to me, my knee jerk reaction
is going to be, but if I understand where they're coming from, maybe I can actually have a fruitful
conversation rather than just ramming my ideology down their throats without even listening to them.
It's not that crazy. Yeah, I agree 100%. So I wanted to read another comment.
This one's pretty short, but just to,
because I'm pretty sure a lot of people,
maybe I'll say the word triggered,
were maybe upset when you said about
like who the comments are coming from.
Yeah.
This one is from the white devil from the Bible.
Never thought I'd be saying this,
but it's time to unsubscribe.
Oh, yeah.
And my thing about all that is it's like we're 740 something episodes, which means we have, I don't know how many videos total, but over a thousand at this point.
Yeah.
And this is where you're like, that's it.
Like, how close were you like to the last straw if this is it?
But also, if this is the one thing that like you just, nope, that's it. Like how close were you like to the last straw? If this is the, if this is it, but also if this is the one thing that like you just, Nope, that's it. Like then I guess, yeah. See you
later. See you fucking later. Cause I don't want to hang with you anyways. And I got to clarify
too, because I, I totally understand how different, different groups generally hang out with people of
their group because they feel more comfortable. So I know that there are some people in the audience that when I said white guys or whatever, they think like they see me,
they see I'm a black guy, they see that I'm saying this and they think that I'm like against them or
something. A majority of people, even though this comment section was super vocal, right? Angry
people are vocal. They'll leave angry comments comments right right i know that's not a
majority of the audience i also know that there are a lot of people who are white that listen to
this podcast and i need them to understand because most white people don't have that many black
friends or hang out with black people so they have an assumption of maybe what black people
think about them but i'm gonna like say i have nothing against white people and most black people
don't have anything against white people either most black people don't have anything against
white people either so i'm i need to continue to clarify that so that people understand like
a i don't have anything against you but some of you some of the some of the cats in the comments
section like you can you can see what their profile is like you can see what they're like
like you can tell who they are and those individuals i don't give a fuck about like they can say as many wild
and mean things about me or whatever um but at the end of the day like those dudes hey kick rocks
bruh like we don't need you here our audience our audience uh probably isn't very diverse so
that's probably part of it if it was diverse i mean maybe we would see something different
it's actually fairly diverse It's actually fairly diverse.
If you look in the Discord, there's quite a few men, there's quite a few women, there's quite a few people from different – it will be a majority of white dudes.
But at the end of the day, like white dudes are majority of the population.
So like you don't expect it to be any other way, right?
But I mean with that being said, it's like –
At this point, I think that white people are just a lot more represented.
And I think that there's a huge wide array of people that are no longer just white.
Oh, yeah.
And I think that that like off-balance thing that has been coming for a really long time, I think has some people scared,
not even,
I'm not talking like,
I'm not talking about like white power bullshit stuff.
I'm just talking about a lot of people in general.
I think they're seeing a shift that there's a lot of mixed races.
They're seeing a shift.
There was that thing that Sina did years ago where he was like walking down the
street and rattling off what a typical American looks like these days.
And a typical American is just becoming less and less white over a long period of time.
And also in terms of our religion, people are like less religious,
although I think we're seeing like a little bit of a comeback of religion.
And then also politics.
Like they're no longer is it like you're either on this side or on this side.
Yeah.
There's so many young people.
It's going to take a while for all that to kind of sort of even itself out
and maybe end up with a party somewhere in the middle.
Maybe we'll have three parties at some point.
I just think there shouldn't be any parties, but people think that's crazy.
Once I started learning about like voting and the parties i was like why are there two separate
sides what the fuck is this oh wait these people believe all this stuff in this category and then
these people just believe everything that's opposite of the other category i was like what
that sounds ludicrous what the fuck is going on here yeah
it's yeah politics is a dangerous thing man because like once i mean that's why like there's
a lot of things i'm not as far as the left i agree with but there's a lot of things on the right that
i agree with meaning i agree with a lot of like liberal stuff and conservative stuff so when
somebody asks what what what's what side are you on like motherfucker i'm like there is a
lot of things where each side like i think this side has it right this side has it right and that's
a that's where a lot of people are because like there's just too many fucking extremes but the
wild thing is when you start paying attention to certain things like you know we know what social
media how it works when you start watching one thing from like Ben Shapiro or the Hodge twins, your whole feed is, is filled with straight
things. That's why like, again, on this podcast, that's why I dig that we have different conversations
because it opens us up to listening to differing ideas, things that we may disagree with, but
it gives us a benefit because I want somebody to disagree with me and I want
somebody to explain to me why they believe I'm wrong because then we can start poking
holes in each other's ideas and come to where some truth actually lies.
But if we just listen to people that believe the same thing that we do and look the same
way we do, then everybody else that's somewhat opposite of that is wrong and they're living
life the wrong way.
else that's somewhat opposite of that is wrong and they're living life the wrong way.
Like you got to be open to hearing another side out, hearing that conversation.
And that's why you got to diversify your feeds a little bit. These days you got to be deliberate with diversifying your feeds.
So maybe you got to follow people that you don't necessarily agree with and listen to
some of their shit so that you can get some of the nuance on the other side.
Because I would, I would, you know, there may be people in this audience
who are either liberal or conservative, whichever one.
But you'd be surprised if you actually have a conversation with certain people
and especially reasonable people on the other side of your belief,
how reasonable some of the things that they believe are.
Because liberals look at conservatives and they think,
oh, they're just, they believe in this and they believe in Trump
and they believe in this. And then when they have a conversation with somebody who's an actual
conservative, they're like, oh, it wasn't so bad. And the same thing when a liberal,
when a conservative has a conversation with a reasonable liberal, like it's like,
but when you just listen to all these people and you get this algorithm and you get stuck in this
echo chamber, then you think that the liberals are this and the conservatives are this and you become one of those
people who's just on one side and unreasonable and if you saw like a um a title of a youtube video
you might get inflamed without even reading it or without even watching it you know and i think that
happens a lot and that might have been the case of what happened here and in addition to that I see that a lot on like Instagram
and stuff
because I a lot of times just drop stuff on Instagram
just like dump it on there and I don't
have it have words and stuff
you like to start fires Martin
I enjoy that here and there
but a lot of times the information is in the actual
video because I've been shooting videos
forever and I like to talk and explain
stuff in videos
and then people will like crap all over it and I'm like I don't you clearly just
didn't let you didn't listen to the video at all the other video spoke about ABC and it clarified
everything in the video and so I think sometimes they just they might read a small amount of text
or just see what's in that like little cover picture and they'll just make negative comment on based on that.
But they didn't listen to anything else.
They didn't try to gather any more information.
Yeah.
Did you have any more comments you wanted to highlight?
Let me take a look.
There were, there were some other good ones, you know, cause like, you know, I was thinking of reading some of the bad comments on air, but then I was like, you know, it's kind of like the thing you don't want to do
with school shooters. You don't want to say their name.
You don't want to bring them
the attention that they're seeking
by doing what they've done.
And I don't mean to compare.
I just had a tragedy that happened. I don't mean to compare this to that.
Because this is by no means that.
But the concept is what I think.
It's like, a lot of these people are leaving these comments
so that someone can look and then respond angrily and pay attention to them.
And I'd rather not continue to give attention to that.
And I'd rather go to some of the positive things that we heard in the comments.
It doesn't hurt at all.
I mean, you're anonymous, so you can trigger somebody else or you can get someone else to jump on your bandwagon with you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But there were some other good ones.
I need to wait till that new app comes out
where you're not anonymous anymore.
Oh, is that actually something that's happening?
Like some Black Mirror shit?
I just made that up just so people are like,
what?
But it's definitely coming.
Yeah.
I mean, I'm sure like, you know,
kind of super nerds can find you.
Yeah.
Oh, this one's actually pretty good.
I mean, you could just Google search somebody
and then pay a super nerd.
So like anybody can do it.
Yeah.
Hey, I'm a religious woman.
My faith says all sin is equal.
Breaking Shabbat, eating pork, being gay, lying, stealing, adultery, gossip.
But shame on you folks in the comments because the point of this podcast is to have people with different lives, viewpoints, ways of being on the show to hear from them.
Because it is not going to kill you to hear from another viewpoint in a respectful manner i've learned so much from the power project
homeschooling religious psalm uh power lifter oh she's a stay-at-home mom and even while i do
not agree with this point of view i respect it and value them as free humans to be able to compete
in a sport without people shitting on what they have done what they have chosen for themselves damn y'all be kind damn that's an amazing comment it is i have to find that that
one's getting pinned yeah yeah it was a really good one um from cassidy sloan oh is that sloan's
abroad yeah she's in the discord she's hey sloan's abroad what's up she keeps she'd be killing it for
us nice um but yeah man just fucking be. It's not that big of an,
I like that eating pork and being gay is the same thing.
That's what I got.
That's what I got out of that message.
Hey,
Hey,
Hey,
but yeah,
when you look,
man,
so when you look at the Bible,
man,
all sin is,
all sin is created equal as shit.
So eat pork,
be gay.
Just please, and anybody listening, not in the same day.
You will go directly to hell.
H-E double hockey stick.
That's right.
Andrew, take us on out of here, buddy. I'm going to die over here.
