Season two, huh? That first season was a doozy
wasn't it that was a lot of ups and downs yeah a couple twists at the end there a couple twists
along the way but we did uh thankfully make it here to season two yeah um we did get picked up
for a second season so that was the big relief right there that was exciting i would say last
week's episode if you haven't listened to it, go listen to it.
That may be the funnest podcast episode I can recall.
It's definitely up there.
Yeah.
Do you feel like you've recovered from the hangover party that is episode 260?
I'm still hanging a little bit.
It still kind of does feel like it.
Like this is just a little, I mean, it's just not as exciting, 261.
It's like, huh, when are we going to get that 10-year reunion party
is going to be a ways off in the distance so far.
I shouldn't say that this episode is not exciting.
We do have some exciting things planned.
It's a great episode.
Our part probably isn't as exciting.

Okay, before we get too far into this,
it might be helpful if we backed up,
or back up might not be the right direction,
but we lifted up, went up to about 10,000 feet.
I was hoping we'd visit this area again.
Yes, we need to get up to about the 10,000-foot level.
And at the 10,000-foot level,
that's the best spot that you can see the whole duration of this podcast.
The vantage point.
Yeah, the vantage point.
And that's probably the most important part about taking people to the 10,000-foot level.
Yeah, people that really resonated with people.
They like going to 10,000 feet.
We're going to take this episode 261 all the way to 10K.
Talking about feet.
Buckle on in.
You're going to get the full view today.
And that's just what we're going to do every episode from now on.
We're going to take you to 10K.
We got that view.
Someone made the meme that was really funny that they said i was the
jim halpert from episode one of uh yeah where he's like i sell paper and paper products oh i sound
really boring yeah that made me laugh because of how accurate yeah that was fun it's that kind of
like sums up just the podcast in general though like hearing back on that that's true uh also
you know what was a has i don't even know if this was
last episode or what episode we talked about it but i keep getting messages and tagged and things
about this we had a pretty heated discussion on this the first time pizza and milk yeah was that
last week i don't remember now i think it was weren't we talking to a guest when we were talking
about pizza and milk or was it just you and i i don't even remember now either and no no it was last week. Weren't we talking to a guest when we were talking about pizza and milk, or was it just you and I? I don't even remember now either.
No, no, it was last week because I mentioned about the apple pie and the alcohol.
Ah, yeah, there you go.
So it was last week.
That's what we were talking about.
Several people latched onto that one too,
and most people agree that you are totally wrong,
and I agree with them too.
No, I've gotten both.
Oh, you have?
Yeah, like someone take me in a page today where it's
it was literally a pizza dunking it in milk i saw that okay i didn't know if that was serious or not
well i like that i don't think what i'm saying is we're not the first people to bring up the
discussion and because several people were like message and said i love pizza and milk i love
nothing better and then several people said that's gross it's gonna i'm gonna have to put that in the poll because i probably we legitimately got upwards of like
20 messages about people talking about pizza and milk that's what i'm wondering is if it's just
is it are the people that are latched on one or the other is it specific to pizza and milk that
they're doing it or is it just the people that really like milk?
Like if you love milk,
you're probably going to like pizza and milk.
If you dislike milk,
you're probably not going to like pizza and milk.
Yeah.
I don't know.
We'll find,
we'll have to find out.
We'll do some more research on that.
We'll get to the bottom of that.
I mean,
I just got,
I was just shocked at how many people had,
I was surprised the reaction that that did get out of people.
It was, there was quite a bit of talk on that one.
Was there any other notes from episode 260?
We got some pretty good feedback from people and which is good.
Cause we had fun with it.
A couple of people that have listened a long time made the comment that they,
what they did miss is how, um,
that just was just like three DMS that i got about this like they didn't
they kind of had forgot about how we used to talk about our training and oh they said one of the
things that they liked at first was that uh it was just like average guys talking about their
training they didn't weren't list having to listen to like these world record guys like it was a
little maybe more relatable because it's like oh yeah, yeah, it's just dudes. Yeah, just regular gym goer.
Right, right.
Just lifter A and lifter B.
Lifter A and lifter B.
That's a pretty hot topic, too.
It is a hot topic.
Yeah, I don't know.
We'll probably talk.
Your training is definitely more exciting than mine.
I'm currently working my way from being average to savage though at the moment we're
both going average i don't know if it's boring because we're both going from average to savage
so i don't know if that's that could be considered boring but i did just break the news to you today
that i i signed up for uh i i'm not just saying i'm going to do a powerlifting meet i legitimately
signed up and paid the money i paid them the money for a powerlifting meet it's uh june 26th and the
beautiful black hills of yeah
so that's pretty exciting because this we were saying this is your first one in since my first
powerlifting meet since 2017 that's a long time that one would have been i i did that one in
chamberlain yeah i was gonna say that was that an apf yeah so i'm wondering what month that would
have been it was usually like february wasn't it i always thought it was in february so february 2017 so
it's been four years since i've done a powerlifting meet i did a couple strongman competitions after
that but be the actual first powerlifting meet knock on something yeah that i get to do i think
my last one was 2018 yeah it would have been 2018 about a year after that. Because then I technically only took one year.
I took one year off and then, well, no one did any last year.
Right, right.
Yeah, so the last one you did would have been probably about March 2018 in Sioux Falls.
Which it's like, damn, that's three years ago now?
Like, that's crazy too.
Yeah.
The one I signed up for is a USPA meet.
Will be the first one of those I've done.
Which, USPA is way bigger deal than it was in
2017 the last time I did a meet yeah so that's I'm excited about that because the deadlift bar
and also the prevalence of um knee sleeves versus knee wraps a lot of people being into knee sleeves
in that federation still and then also yeah so are you doing sleeved or wrapped sleeves okay yeah
for sure I would I I would have no I never had ambition to do wraps it's just that like that's
kind of it was but yeah right so and then also like they use a monolift and stuff like uh they
don't use a monolift they use a combo rack and yeah which i would prefer to use like a yeah not
squatting enough for that matters i guess it's gonna be the deal breaker but so that i'm excited
to be signed up and i don but so that i'm excited to be
signed up and i don't know if i said this to you or ross in the gym today it feels like um
just like a week post having signed up i'm feeling like my training's going better already or it's
like there's something there's something out there now all of a sudden yes there's a target
yeah so that's i guess it'll it'll be exciting for you i'm excited to see what happens for your
training now but it's probably way more exciting for you it'll, it'll be exciting for you. I'm excited to see what happens for your training now,
but it's probably way more exciting for you.
It is exciting.
It is exciting.
Have something to go after.
And I've kind of like got my plan for the, I'm doing a, I just,
I'm finishing kind of a heavier week this week where I'm kind of testing
some higher numbers.
So I have a good baseline going and then I'm deloading next week.
And then I kind of have a deloading back to average
before you go back fully savage and then i have uh i'm essentially cutting out the first
seven week block of that program and i'm doing the last uh 12 weeks give or take is that how
long it actually is well there's really 21 weeks total yeah i didn't look i didn't look that far
ahead yeah there's three seven week
blocks basically so i'm actually going to be doing the peaking block for the first time cool yeah
and i squatted 500 pounds for the first time since i that's right yeah yeah uh that went all right
and i didn't re-tear my acl or something that's always always a win there so i was happy about
that yeah not re-tearing anything but i think it it's the signing up for a meat effect that already is feeling lighter.
It made your, like, it means bulletproof.
It's like, oh, no, we got to hold up now.
He's got this meat coming up.
There's something on the line.
Yeah.
And the guy that, what is his name?
Alberto?
I'm probably messing it up.
The guy that runs squat oh yeah yeah yeah puts on
the meat and that's right that i'm doing so yep because they've done one they did one this will
be the third because i saw him when i signed up it's the black hills the third annual black hills
classic it's a june june 26th all right yeah so now it's time to get cereal. It is very cereal.
Get that bread.
And we should probably get something to drink too while we're at it.
Okay, Tanner.
I'm just going to give you a quick tip on this what's in the can.
So this is a what's in the can.
Well, kind of.
I'm going to say we've had this one in the last two months.
Okay.
Is it the bubbly?
Well, you'll just have to decide what it is.
Is it the...
I'm giving you that hint.
It's not champagne again.
It's not champagne. This is in fact... It's not that hint. It's not champagne again. It's not champagne.
This is in fact...
It's not a warm apple pie.
In a can.
It is not a warm apple pie.
Do we get to have a...
Are you going to have an apple pie every week?
I should.
You know, McDonald's isn't that far from my house, Tanner.
Let me give it the old smeller test.
I actually thought these were gone.
And I found them back in the fridge.
Hiding back in the sparkling water fridge that's good that's tasty um god i get so confused over the different ones
that i thought this one might confuse you a little bit. Because what was the one a while ago that I thought I was going to say cherry?
Oh, and then it was lime cranberry.
Is this lime or cranberry lime?
Is this cranberry lime?
It is cranberry lime.
I was curious if you'd say cola again.
You know how I figured out this is cranberry lime?
Because that same thing happened where I took the first sip,
and every time the first sip, I'm like, cherry, that's cherry.
And then I was like, wait a second, this kind of tastes like a cola to me.
And then I'm like, wait a second, a second again.
When it's cherry and cola, that means it's cranberry lime.
Yeah, I just wanted to give you that.
I didn't want to take you all the way down the cola road again.
I thought maybe I'd get you with that.
No, this, this again on first taste
having it been a while again it tastes like cherry cola to me this tastes like a cherry cranberry
lime yeah i do not get the lime at all in that one no this tastes like a cherry coke to me and
it is very good it is really like this one for sure for jd powers yeah definitely absolutely
and people should drink that one yeah we had uh i don't know maybe maybe
you have a different plan of what's next on your list no you can go for it i was just thinking of
this is actually usually we record one podcast episode per week yep but this week uh we what's
that yesterday that was that already just yesterday god it was yeah i was gonna say
that was a couple days ago yeah that was just yesterday that was yesterday that's weird a little over 24 hours ago that's weird that that was yesterday
yes it is uh we recorded an episode of the podcast with uh silent mike and jim mcdee of the 50
percent of the 50 percent yeah fax podcast so that was super cool yeah it was a lot of fun
that's coming out jim didn't know exactly yet when, but he saw it maybe about mid-April.
So sometime in April, that'll come out.
I don't think we want to go into the details of what it was.
No, we don't want to give it away.
You want to listen to it.
But it was a video.
It was a video podcast.
So wherever they put it, I mean, you can just listen to it.
But also, I'm assuming they're going to put it on YouTube.
We did record our beautiful faces in full HD.
So you can see us talking to Jim McD and Silent Mike.
And it was a fun episode.
Yeah,
it was,
it was a lot of fun.
I really liked it. We haven't,
we haven't really done one like that before.
So I didn't know if it was going to be 30 minutes or however long,
but I think it was well over an hour.
Wasn't it?
Yeah.
I wonder if it wasn't even like almost an hour and a half or something,
but they both really liked it too.
It was a lot of fun.
Like in typical massonomics fashion.
I think we had quite a bit of fun doing it and the one thing i would the one note i would make of it is what you said um this
maybe this was i don't know because we talked for a while after we recorded there too yeah and i
don't know if this is while we recorded or afterwards but you said if this was four years
ago and you would have told us we were going to be on a podcast yeah i don't remember if this was four years ago and you would have told us we were going to be on a podcast.
Yeah.
I don't remember if it was Drew and recording or not,
but right.
How did you say that?
I said,
uh,
if this was like five years ago and someone told me I would be recording a podcast with Jim McD and silent Mike at the same time,
like I wouldn't have slept for a week.
I would have been so jacked.
And I'm still very excited.
Yeah.
Still now.
I think of less of them at,
I don't want to say
this in a negative way yeah like before they used to be like oh my god who are these people now i
think a little bit more of them as peers a little bit yeah they're peers still really excited to do
it but yeah yeah before if you would have told me like when i was really into the power cast that i
would ever talk to those guys at the same time we've and it helps that we've recorded episodes
with both of them before so So we're familiar with them.
But it is just funny how much things do change over time.
Right.
To where it's like, yeah, the middle of my day on a Tuesday is going to be sent talking to Jim McD and Silent Mike.
Yeah.
It was very cool, though.
I'm excited for that one to come out.
Hopefully, everyone that...
If you like the Mastodonomics podcast, I'd say it's a must listen.
It is right up the Mastodon alley it is it is like it's something like it's almost shocking that
we hadn't done that episode already right right that was that was a lot of fun they've they've
got uh i also think that they've got some good ideas over there like with their formats and what
they're doing and stuff so good stuff yeah and it has been a while since we were on someone else's podcast
and we're so used to running the show we want to hear so there's times where it's like you want to
talk about god this isn't my show like i don't need to like direct the way the cut because it
not not that i didn't like what they were doing but no there's points where it's like oh we would
have we we're going to talk about this but it's like no no that's not our job to structure the
way this is going so let's let them lead it and let's just be the guest i also we talked about that too and i
also got that feeling too where it's like they did a good just as they do a very good job like
there's not not like correctional that we need to correct it's just like just the feeling that
where you're like well when we do the masonomics podcast we we do this and say this so yeah you
just got to pull back right there's spots where you'd interject and be like, all right, let's,
we're going to transition to this point.
Do some dumb joke that we have.
It's like, well, this kind of doesn't make sense
to do a lot of this on their show.
But yeah, that was really fun.
That'll be out in the next couple weeks here.
So you guys should definitely be on the lookout
and check that out when it does come out.
Yes.
Next on the list, Tanner, we have,
this one surprised me the other day.
Just out of nowhere, I'm watching TV and there's a Geico commercial that comes on starring
World's Strongest Man, Martins Lisas.
And I'm going to see if I can play some of this here.
Hundreds on car insurance and a whole lot more.
So what are you waiting for?
World's Strongest Man, Martins Lisas.
Actually, you know what, Tanner?
Why am I putting this?
We literally have a thing.
We literally have a thing where I can plug in and i'm trying to like put my speaker up
i mean that didn't sound bad it didn't sound bad but come on tanner we're not trying to not sound
bad we're trying to sound good yeah walter did you know geico could save you hundreds on car
insurance and a whole lot more so what are you waiting for world's strongest man martinez leachies
to help you break down and he had a little accent martin's leachies oh yeah a little a little different way so yeah i probably the
right way i don't know boxes okay we gotta back up there's a second guy could save you
so what are you waiting for world's strongest man martin's leachies to help you break down boxes
what am i gonna do to you? Let me break it down for you.
And he's just like out on the boulevard,
dropping rocks on this guy's boxes,
smashing trash cans on his boxes.
Down!
Down to the recycling center!
Thanks, Martins.
You're welcome.
He's pulling the garbage truck.
Yeah, doing the strongman pull.
If you like this video.
So I was kind of surprised.
Geico has these really, as far as, I was going to read the comments here,
but they're turned off, so I can't do that.
Geico does have kind of these random commercials of getting weird things on.
The lizard is Geico too, right?
Yeah.
Is that still a thing?
Yeah.
The Geico Gecko is still on stuff.
But I'm really curious how you land on someone like Martins.
He didn't just win World's Strongest Man, you know?
No, yeah.
I mean, yeah, he's not the most recent World's Strongest.
He may have been the most recent World's Strongest Man at the time of recording. I guess, yeah, true, yeah. I mean, yeah, he's not the most recent World's Strongest. He may have been the most recent World's Strongest man at the time of recording.
I guess, yeah, true, true.
Especially when you're working with, like, big agencies and ad budgets.
Like, that could have been recorded a year ago,
and they're just getting around to doing it now.
Also, he lives in California.
Maybe, like, he has an agent or something.
You know, like, maybe something like some sort of hookup
towards maybe he's been trying you know you know what geico commercial they need to make they need
to say like um i don't even know what how does that start it's like um you know how happy you
could be saving on car insurance it's like yeah and it could be as happy as the masanamis guys
drinking sparkling soda, sparkling wine.
And they can just have us talking here, doing nothing.
That would, that would be a, that's a, that's a surefire win.
What about flow?
What is she, what is she for?
That's a progressive.
Why is that still?
Why is she still on TV?
Like, doesn't, doesn't everyone hate that?
I assumed, I don't know, but there's just more of them all the time.
There's more and more.
Now she has a whole party of people that she's't it like doesn't everyone get like isn't like don't you
hate it when those come on well see it's the thing with like having a spokesman for a company like a
long run i guess geico has the gecko which they've had forever and what about the general they have
the general and shack do kind of general and save some time they actually did i just saw a commercial
for the general the other day where they're like they were like almost making fun of themselves
which actually gave me made me like them way more because their commercials always looked really
shitty you know that really bad cgi general guy yeah but they someone they were like had this
really serious like um this really serious uh commercial like all these people like i don't
know if they're like getting a will read to them and it was like really dramatic and someone's like um i just switched to
the general art no i think this person gets like all of the assets because they just switched the
general they said their commercials were really bad but i looked into them and they're actually
a pretty good company i'm like okay you're making fun of them themselves here so i like that but
tanner uh do you know what geico stands for
little piece of trivia for you here no government employees insurance company fun fun fact for you that certainly must not be relevant anymore i wouldn't think so yeah
i did just before i forgot i have to say this um when i was saying something about
reading a will there i have a piece of follow-up from probably 200 episodes ago for you okay um
i think people have been waiting a long time for this a long long time ago you made the suggestion
to watch this the show succession on hbo oh yeah and i'm a few episodes into it okay yeah so i'm
just reporting like it i like it it's it's
kind of different well it's weird because it's like produced by will ferrell and adam mckay
yeah yeah um but they do so it is like a serious show but they kind of do the office thing a little
bit where there's kind of like it sort of feels like there's a camera crew following them because
it's like doing like the quick zooms and looking around thing right yeah but i can't quite figure
out like if that's intentional,
like it's supposed to feel like there's that part's throwing me off a little
bit.
I know it's exactly what you're talking about,
but then they'll go like whole chunks of the episode where they don't do
that at all.
And then they'll make it feel like really like someone's holding the camera
again.
That's the,
the been the weirdest part to me,
which is a very minor thing.
But other than that,
I have enjoyed it so far.
Is that on HBO?
Yeah.
I'm kind of an HBObo guy tanner the other thing that this this ties into south dakota yeah what is it called there do you
know who marvin hemeyer is marv hemeyer should i it's tread tread is the name of the document oh
yeah i watched that one yeah marv hemeyer yeaher. Yeah. The guy from Castlewood. Yeah.
Castlewood.
Okay. So you know he's from Castlewood then.
I was going to talk to you about this like six months ago and I totally forgot.
Yes.
Marv Hemeyer is his name from Castlewood.
And anyone, so anyone that hasn't seen this, it's called Tread.
It's on Netflix.
Netflix.
It's a documentary.
It's a guy from a small town in Colorado.
Well, he's originally from South Dakota,
but he moves to Colorado.
Right.
And he's not far from us.
Is he,
he's not from Western Northeast,
South Dakota,
but he's like Western,
Western,
Central,
Western,
South Dakota.
Well,
Castlewood's not,
it's right next to Watertown.
Yeah.
Right.
Right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So it's,
it's like,
yeah.
Sorry.
Eastern.
Sorry.
I would say Eastern.
Yeah. Eastern, Central, South Dakota might be the. Sorry. Eastern. Sorry. I would say. Yeah. Right. Eastern. Yeah.
Eastern central South Dakota might be the best way to put that one.
Yes.
Eastern central South Dakota.
And I'll also,
after I watched it and kind of looked it up,
I'm like,
I'm going to look on Facebook for the last name.
He Meyer.
I had a lot of people that were like,
like mutual friends or one friend removed.
And I'm like,
somebody is related to this guy.
I mean,
we're talking about a place that's what hour and a half down the road like it's not that far like
these people are related to this dude so i wonder how they felt when the when this came out but
so he essentially built a tank from a uh dozer yeah in and he was like this expert welder so
he welds all of these um walls around it but then fills them with concrete so
they're even more reinforced mounted 50 cals in it and uh basically everyone in the town that he
feels did him dirty like the neighboring construction companies and the city hall and
everyone like that he goes and bulldozes all of their buildings and destroys all of their property
and it goes on for hours and the thing is extremely slow.
It's a bulldozer.
It crawls.
It's moving like a couple miles an hour.
It's actually the scene from Austin Powers
when the guy's like, stop, stop.
We're coming at him with the steamroller.
That's essentially what happens in this town.
I mean, we're laughing about it.
It's not funny.
It is essentially what happens in this town
for like an entire straight day.
Just, no, no.
Like, he's going to the library.
No.
They go there and like get everyone evacuated.
But Oh yeah.
He's not going to be here for an hour.
And when you're watching,
it's easy to be like,
well,
this is what they should have done.
But like at the time I,
you know,
I really,
and I,
uh,
he did like shoot himself at the very end of it too.
But,
uh,
certainly dude went crazy.
Yeah.
And there was definitely,
so yeah,
the whole thing was the man felt slighted by everyone in the town.
And there was some weird things where it's like somehow they almost got him pushed out of business sort of.
His business had a lot of really bad luck things happen to it.
Well, the show does a kind of a good job of showing it in two lights.
Like they first show you like, yeah, Marv got screwed by everyone.
And then they show you like, oh, got screwed by everyone and then they show you
like oh wait or did he really get screwed at all or was it all just like and i also feel like
stances that yeah and i feel like it's so we're talking small towns and small towns will also
look out for their own so you know no one's gonna be like oh yeah yeah we fucked him over like you
know they're not gonna do that so you gotta wonder like there still probably is a little bit where
it's like yeah we're still kind of covering our bases on that one like maybe we
did a few things we shouldn't have especially after all this happens and even years later when
you're probably going to be like yeah we didn't do anything to cause that like oh why would you
want to admit to that right yeah we kind of pushed that man's buttons to the point where he went on
this rampage like yeah no one will admit that so but yeah i'm sure like obviously you don't do you remember that what would it actually happen no
because wasn't there what was ronald reagan uh oh reagan died like the next day and that's what
took over i remember it though i do i do not i do not remember that at all it was like 2005 or
something like that yeah i don't remember i barely had a recollection of something like it in my head so yeah i you would think now with with uh just smartphones and social media that
something like that would be like all over yes all over tv but i always meant to bring that up
because of the south dakota yeah back there yeah that's that's uh yeah kind of an odd
an odd connection but a connection nonetheless, right?
Okay, what else do we got on the list here, Tanner?
Oh, geez, we're kind of almost running out of time.
I don't even know if we have to go through anything else.
Maybe we'll just get this show on the road.
Yeah, we'll get the show on the road, as they say.
Okay, let's read some ads.
We've been staying up at 10,000 feet for most of the show.
We have.

Buddy Caps first started lifting weights in the late 60s and began powerlifting in the mid-70s.
At the time, he was working for Image Barbell building gym equipment.
Around 1976, a local machine shop started making Olympic bars for them, calling it the Image Bar.
In 1977, Image Barbell became Champion Barbell.
It was then that Buddy started looking at the bars with an intent of changing them for the better.
In 1979, Buddy bought his first lathe to begin addressing the known issues.
In 1980, his passion, drive, and purpose now had a greater mission.
Buddy set out on his own to make what he believed was the greatest bar he'd ever seen and trained with,
and the Texas Power Bar was born.
It was strong as a house with the best knurling and was maintenance free.
Hundreds of state national international world and massonomics powerlifting

Thank you, sponsors.
Should we get old Pistol Pete on the...
Let's get it going.
All right.
Here we go. what's up guys hey pete you're on the massonomics podcast with tanner and tommy what's up pete
not too much what about y'all not much we're excited to get you on here it's uh it's been a
long time coming yeah i mean i've known about you guys for so long, but better late than never.
That's right.
One thing I wanted to mention,
even before we got started too much,
do you know you're coaching,
you are coaching a guy that lifts at Massanomics Gym,
Big Matt, and he just did a meet here.
Where did Matt, he competed in Northgo in fargo north dakota lately and
recently and what did he deadlift he deadlift like 770 around there yeah yeah uh yeah i think he
pulled 771.6 so 350 kilos and he probably honestly had a little more but yeah um i kept telling him
i'm like man you could pull 800 over 800 at your next meet for sure.
So I'm pretty excited to see what he can do in the future because he's just blown up.
You guys have seen it.
Yeah.
Matt's not a small guy.
No, Matt's about 6'5 or 6'6.
And over the time that you've been coaching him, I mean, we've watched it firsthand.
like over the time that you've been coaching it.
I mean,
I've watched it firsthand.
His,
he has got,
we can vouch for your coaching firsthand here because I have watched him just get insanely strong over the last few years.
Like,
like have a chain of months and months and months of PRS.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He's pretty amazing.
And he pushes himself like he puts in the work.
So he's just,
he could be something special if he keeps going
yeah when matt's in the gym the energy's not low that's for sure i totally believe that yeah
no that's good stuff yeah yeah i've never actually gotten to meet him or anything but i'm uh
i can only imagine how big he looks in person because i know he's about six five two eighty
so it's like man yeah yeah Yeah, yeah, for sure.
So some of the stuff you do, you know, I mean, I think our first exposure to you ever had to have been through YouTube.
Like, I think that's where you're from. For me, for sure.
And I think that's probably, especially when you start thinking of, like, I guess if you want to call it earlier fitness YouTube, like, what, 2014-ish maybe?
Yeah.
All your videos in the basement, those are iconic i feel like for
a lot of people yeah i mean that's kind of how it all started because i got on youtube when there
there really wasn't anybody up there there weren't too many videos and like if i would type in
deadlift like literally i'd be lifting more than anybody on there so i'm like all right let me
start throwing these up and um they kind of caught on and it was
all fueled partially through the the bodybuilding.com forums okay which i i don't i don't
frequent it anymore because it's a pretty uh pretty gnarly place but it's a little rough on
there and so not my cup of tea anymore but that really pushed everything into the the forefront
so so just post the videos up and post on there and then everybody will go crazy about them.
So are you saying there actually are people that still use the bodybuilding.com forums?
Well, I know like the miscellaneous section.
I mean, that's just a whole different world of madness.
So I stay away now.
I can't deal with that anymore.
Were you pretty active on there at one point in time then?
Yeah, I mean, literally all I would do is the biggest part of the forum
that was huge was the miscellaneous, and I would just post my videos up,
and they would go to like get a million comments,
and everybody was like, holy crap.
That's kind of how George Lehman started as well.
So he was on there a little bit.
It just blew up from there.
So it was pretty cool.
That's wild.
I didn't really know the connection.
I knew the YouTube, of course, but I didn't really know the connection with the bodybuilding.com forums at that point in time.
Yeah.
That's cool.
Do you know what your biggest video on YouTube of all time is?
Well, it's the one I put up for one of my clients in Montreal.
He all got the bar kicked out of his hand
when he was dead lifting.
Yeah, and that's fairly recently too, isn't it?
It'll be about two years in August.
It went viral.
It got like 15 million views.
I didn't realize that was one of your clients
because I think I first came across that
video like when it happened i think i found it on reddit i think actually i think it was on like
maybe even the front page or it was high up because that's where i remember running across
it right before the show here we're doing a little bit of research and i was actually surprised to
see that video on your channel i didn't realize that was one of your clients yeah i mean i the
thing when i posted it too like i didn't know it was going to
go viral like it was the craziest thing and it got posted everywhere and every fitness influencer
made a video about it but like the whole lead up to that was the guy was like every time he would
deadlift like somebody would make a big deal about it at this gym it was like the canadian
planet fitness essentially yeah and so like this had been going
on for months and that was just the culmination of like the worst incident but it had been happening
for a while so like i just was getting fed up with it because the guy could hardly deadlift at this
gym and i'm just like i don't want to see what people think of this and the next thing i know
i was getting like calls from newspapers. So it was crazy.
Damn.
Oh,
and the thing,
well, one thing with that video,
two people should know is like,
it got demonetized.
So like,
there's no money being made off it.
Like you think,
Oh,
it's got all these views.
Like when we,
when we,
for when I first put it,
put it up and he put it up on his channel,
I split the monetization money 50,
50 with him and then
youtube has like these rules now they're super strict they like anything offensive
like you can't make any money off it so they completely like pulled it and like shadow banned
it gotcha okay what about outside of that one then what are some of the next most popular ones
that you've had out there because i mean with doing it that long that you've got a shitload of videos on youtube it's funny because it's not
really even my lifting videos necessarily i've got some that have a lot of views but it's once
talking about steroids and that's what everybody uh gets interested in so i made some the first
guy to come out talking about steroids openly was b Lloyd. Yeah, I remember. And then shortly after him, I honestly believe I was like the second.
And I just made some videos, and they kind of blew up from there.
So those always get a lot of attention.
People just love them.
What do you think is the deal?
People just can't get enough of that.
The curtain's being peeled back to the magic.
People are seeing the inner workings, and yeah, people can't get enough of that. It's like the curtain's being peeled back to the magic. People are seeing the inner workings, and yeah, people can't get enough of it.
Yeah, and it's very saturated now.
Everybody talks about things pretty openly because what we've come to realize at this point,
no police are coming to knock down your door or anything and arrest you.
So back then when I first made those videos, there was a genuine fear that like you
would get arrested for speaking openly about it. That's why no one did. So Boston Lloyd was the
first one to kind of like break that door down. But I mean the pun right there, but no, we were,
we were all like, we all, everybody was scared. Everybody was scared to like,
say you took steroids or anything. And now like everybody just talks about it like it's normal right right were you were you pretty like did it take you a while to decide to finally do it at
that point in time like were you worried yourself or did you just say screw it and we'll do it you
know let's get it out there like how did how did you make the decision yourself yeah I definitely
had to think about it a little bit and i was pretty scared because no one besides
boston had done it so i was like man i don't know what's gonna happen here but i kind of justified
it because i was like well i'm kind of like trying to trying to uh taper down and not take
trend anymore and stuff and obviously i went back and tried a few years later but um yeah it was
pretty scary at first but then the last few years, like nobody cares anymore.
It's all, it's just out there. Yeah. Right. Right. It's normal. Right. Um, but you have,
I mean, as long as we're talking about it, I, you know, I've watched the video. I think you
said at the time of the video, you're like 120 days post, uh, um, anything, you know,
any test or anything, any, anything, any, anything, any, just, just natural supplements,
I think is the way you phrased it. And is that, what's your long-term plan? Then would you
go back on at some point in time for meats or what, what do you think?
Yeah, so I've, it's been 135 days. I've lost about, um, 38 pounds since I came off.
Is that with dieting too? Or is that just purely just being off of stuff?
I've been dying hard and a lot of cardio, but I've lost a ton of muscle ton, like from where
I was before. Cause at my peak in July of last year I was 262 pounds
and one day I was 212 so um damn but and then I was about 252 when I came off so I've lost a ton
of muscle but I've been dieting really hard um doing a lot of cardio and stuff like that so it's
it's not just from coming off but obviously that that played a role. Right. How do you feel then at this body weight? Do you feel good?
I feel the healthiest I've ever been. Not even close. Like by far. Um,
I'm trying to honestly, I'm going to start competing at 90 kilos or 98,
which seems crazy.
That doesn't even seem real when you actually say that.
Yeah. My last couple of meets were at 275, like light 275.
But still, yeah.
I wanted to get my blood work as perfect as I could.
It's pretty darn good at this point.
It's almost perfect, if I had to say myself.
And so I lost all the weight.
One of my main motivations was obviously regain my fertility,
have a child, hopefully.
And then the other thing
at that point I kind of took on a life of its own and I started becoming motivated to like get rid
of my sleep apnea because I don't want to wear a CPAP I hate them so I'm like I'm just going to
try to lose all the weight and get rid of it which I have my sleep is 100 times better now and then
it became like trying to live as healthy a lifestyle as I could to prolong my life so
right I've become kind of obsessed with blood work and like,
how are my organs functioning and all that kind of stuff.
And that's not to say like, I, I do want to do a couple of meets on nothing.
So I'll probably do a meet this fall, do a meet next winter. Um,
and then another meet in the spring,
I want to do like three meets on nothing except natural supplements.
And then at some point I do want to get back on like a little bit of tests and do a meet
and then do a cycle. Actually, I do want to do a cycle again, but it'll be like stuff like
testosterone, primavol and anivar instead of like trend balloon and anadrol and stuff like that.
So really, really mild compounds. And I'm going to try to keep my weight down and stay at 90,
some really, really mild compounds and I'm going to try to keep my weight down and stay at 90,
90 kilos. But I definitely want to go on a cycle at some point. And then I'm just going to come right off again. I'm going to do the post-cycle therapy and do what I did here. Cause I feel
great right now. Yeah. Yeah. So you can look at it that way. It's more of a short term, um,
uh, thing you want to do to like an actual cycle right right right right right yeah which is
probably you know that's a that's a difference versus just not coming off for that you know I
feel like you have with your knowledge of the blood work and everything like that with cycling
like you probably feel pretty comfortable that you could do that you know lay out a cycle and then come back off of it and and get back to uh you know the healthy markers that
you're tracking like get back to those in a reasonable amount of time i suppose yeah i think
uh i think i could do this cycle and still have healthy markers okay given what i'm gonna run and
then given what i know now how to do this yep i mean like i was on
for nine years straight and didn't come off anything never ran hcg like and and i've recovered
completely fine like did it what's starting to happen is myself and there's a couple other guys
on youtube are kind of like ruining the stigma that if you go on steroids you can never come back
yeah because we've all bounced back like normal right and it's shocking like how could the body after nine years of um
something detrimental and abusive like that how could it come back perfectly fine after four or
five months you know it's it's remarkable but i think i'm not condoning anything like i wish i
hadn't done a lot of stuff i did, but it's pretty fascinating.
Do you think you're the exception or do you think like that is like that most
people could come back?
Yeah.
Most people could come back if they could handle it mentally.
I think most people,
the mental aspect is the hardest part.
You lose tons of muscle,
tons of strength.
Um,
there's periods where you have no libido,
you feel terrible and it's just, you have
to ride out the storm, you know? Yeah. So you said nine years ago. So how long were, how old were you
when you first started then? I had turned 20 about four months before I started. And was it like,
even like, I mean, was it just like a, yep, let's do this right now? Or was it like a debate that
you had in your head for a while? I was like, let's do this. I was around guys who did it, and they were like, I was jealous.
I was like, these guys, I'm putting in the work.
They're getting ahead of me, and I was ahead of them before.
And so I almost just did it out of jealousy.
I was like, I want to hang with these people.
I can beat them.
And it was just like a friendly rivalry in a way,
but it was very serious,
very competitive.
And, uh, it was like, you know, I was around the Lily bridges and like Chris Hickson and stuff and I wanted to hang with them.
So, well, you did like the backyard meat of the, was it what we call like the backyard
meat of the century and like, uh, a few of those really cool meats that were going on
at the time.
Right.
Yeah.
That was like my first big meet.
And I was like trend out of my mind at the time I was so how old how old were you during that meet oh gosh i want to say like 21 okay so
this is only maybe okay yeah so this is kind of fresh into that journey then you know that was
that was 21 and uh and that's also like an all-time that video is like an all-time youtube
classic like the people that are on that video could also be like a who's who or where are they now thing.
Well, I look at all these old videos of meets and such and just general lifting videos.
And I'm like, man, I look so unhealthy compared to now.
It's bad.
I look at myself.
I'm like, holy crap.
And I remember at those times, my skin complexion was a disaster.
I had so much acne and it was it was
disgusting you know and looking back on that now i'm like i just was so reckless there was no
thought but like i remember going in the super training meet backyard meet of the century and
like i was on 700 trend the last two weeks and like you know you do one rep warming up you can
barely breathe after that stuff like that so
it was but you're you're in your younger 20s like you think you're invincible like you don't even
think about health like yeah all that matters right now like do you yeah for sure do you think
you could have if you were to obviously i mean you even said that you'd do some things different
if you were able to it's kind of a double-edged sword, though, because doing what you did,
you did get very strong and also very recognizable within the sport.
A lot of notoriety for it.
You know, like built up a big following, and, you know,
it's probably part of the reason.
Like you got successful, and that was part of the equation i suppose but do you think you could
have gotten just as strong as you did and doing it uh like through cycles and maybe a safer way
that you know more about now do you think you could have still gotten that strong oh if i if
i did like proper cycles and proper training yes I, if we're saying like without steroids now.
Right, right. Cause just, yeah. But doing it more the way you're talking about doing it going forward, utilizing it going forward.
Yes. Because another thing that happens, this is, no one talks about this stuff. It's funny. But, um, if you're on for a prolonged period of time like that, even after a few years, like you can take anything
basically, and you don't feel much because your receptors are so, um, down-regulated that, or I
guess up-regulated is the word. Yeah. They're so up-regulated that you're not even like feeling
it. You're not even getting much out of it at that point. So like, if I go on a cycle now,
I'm going to blow up because everything's so down regulated that it's just
going to,
I'm going to be so receptive to everything.
And that's,
so I think cycling actually could have maybe done better if I'd like actually
gone off for periods of time and like try to get stronger naturally before
going back on.
Right.
So I do wish I'd done all that,
but,
um,
I see what guys are hitting nowadays and I'm like,
I just don't believe very many people about being natural anymore.
Like, I just.
That is kind of the thing.
It is weird just how strong so many people are.
Well, I have the firsthand experience of both sides, so I'm like,
I don't believe it.
Like, I had a good deadlift naturally but it was on like
i had some bumper plates on there and stuff it was it was obviously made it easier but like my
bench wasn't very good my squat was like 570 um and obviously i started before i got to my natural
peak you know i should have waited a long time like john hack did who was actually a friend of
mine like i was around the guy a lot well you're both from Wisconsin, right? Yeah, I got him a job
as a bouncer. We
trained together at times. He used to
look up to me when I was in college at the gym and everything.
We're not super close, but we were around each other.
You guys grew up in the same area then?
Yeah.
In college for a few years,
like we were both at university of Wisconsin.
So,
right.
Right.
I always questioned,
I even questioned whether John was natural back then.
And now like in hindsight,
he was,
but I still am.
I'm very doubtful of what a lot of people claim and like,
you know,
what's really going on behind the
scenes right so like i've worked with hundreds of clients and i've only had like a couple
naturally benching like 400 plus you know and like that's out of hundreds and stuff like that
so i'm always like really skeptical yeah and same, same with 700 plus pound deadlifts from natural lifters.
I don't really see that.
Especially like that's the one that there seems to be these people that come
out of the woodwork that have these enormous deadlifts.
All these people that are like 200 pounds or less can pull over 700.
And well,
there's a,
you see that more with,
with sumo or that.
Yeah.
Right.
So you can be natural and have a crazy sumo deadlift, which I've seen many, many times.
I think conventional, it's a little more, you don't really see that where someone's
got to like a ridiculous deadlift naturally pulling conventional.
Um, but sumo is sumo.
It wasn't even really a thing like five years ago or, you know, back when it was like the back end of the century.
Nobody was doing sumo now.
Everybody's doing sumo.
So a lot's changed.
Yeah.
Would Pete ever pull sumo?
No, I've tried it.
I still like, I don't like it as much as conventional.
I think conventional is more respected.
I just, there's just a couple of reasons, but I have clients who pull sumo,
you know,
I've got nothing against it in that sense.
Yeah.
But it's just not for me.
You brought up,
brought up your blood work a couple of times and I did watch the video where
you're going over your blood work.
I think it's probably your most recent one.
And I was like,
holy shit.
Are you like the,
the,
the level of knowledge you have on this?
I'm studying.
I'm like, where, where did you accumulate all that knowledge you have on this time studying i'm like where
where did you accumulate all that knowledge on the blood work because i'm like i'm pretty sure
this guy would know more than if i asked my doctor about the like about blood work
yeah it's funny uh i've uh i've studied the heck out of it because i've almost become
as obsessed about getting healthy as i was about getting strong. So like now I look at it,
like I don't want to like back in the day, all I cared about was being strong. Well, you know,
I didn't care what weight or anything or consequences or what I did to my body.
Now it's like, I want to be as strong as possible, but also be as healthy as possible. And
that's, that's a big thing that's missing from the strength game right now.
Power lifting, like people aren't doing that.
I'm trying to bring in a new wave of lifters who care about their health a little more,
get routine labs, and are smart about what they put into their body.
I want to pioneer that.
The consequences are real.
If you mess your kidneys up, that's no joke.
It's stuff like that.
I made all the mistakes, so I'm no better than anyone else,
but I believe I have hindsight to offer now.
Right.
I do think there is starting to –
it feels like there's a lot more people coming around to the idea of longevity.
I think it used to be like,
all right, let's just get the best three or four years at most that i can and then that's it but it does seem like there's more people like looking at
a long-term plan with with lifting yeah and i even wish i did i did so many reckless lifts and like
trained at uh at 100 all the time and it just just, it wasn't smart, but you know, live and learn.
My body's kind of beat up now. Like I can't even really squat anymore to be honest. Like my,
my hip is so destroyed and, um, I just, I can't even get under a bar and like squat anything
respectable. So I paid for it myself, but it's just trying to teach the, teach the guys now how to do it better basically.
Yeah. And well, that's, you know, like say 10 years ago or nine,
when you were kind of starting, like talking about the steroids thing,
it being such a taboo thing that, you know,
it's kind of tough cause there's not the, maybe the knowledge,
the open conversation to help maybe someone that has made the decision that
they want to do it.
Like,
since it's not as open,
it's probably harder for them to find the pathway that is the safest and
healthiest way for them to do it.
And while try,
you know,
simultaneously trying to hit these strength goals and stuff,
we're probably pretty helpful with people like you and others like that,
that are maybe have been open and honest and able to provide a little bit of guidance.
Right. Because I would guess that, you know, when you were 20, those resources were pretty far would be hard to find, like if they existed at all.
Yeah, for sure. It's starting to change. And, you know, I get where guys at their peak peak like i'm not i don't think i'm in my
peak anymore obviously but i still i still hopefully uh i have some ambitious goals as
far as prs i want to hit but i think guys in their peak are like scared to speak out speak
out about what they're doing you know for for whether it's sponsorships or just being stigmatized
i i think a lot of people are hesitant like you don't really
see big name lifters um openly talking about things and i i get it i've been there you know i
just uh i think people i think this this sport people need to to worry about that a little more
yeah and it's just it hasn't been a thing at all so like i've been around all these guys i've done
it myself like nobody's nobody's getting blood work you know right and that's just the tip of the iceberg like
you know i also i also like started doing like a 24 to 30 hour fast every single week
and this is to just like you know replenish my cells and give my body a break and all this stuff
there's so many benefits to it so uh minimizes uh cancer risk all
sorts of good stuff so there's just things i've looked into and i'm doing things differently now
like keeping the weight down trying to be as lean as possible it's less wear on the body wear and
tear on the body and healthier on the kidneys as well so yeah i just i just want more guys to like
start to adopt that mindset.
You know, we'll see powerlifting's evolved big time.
Five years ago, there was not even close to the amount of competitors is now and it's blown up.
So like the numbers back then, like an 1850 total I had at one time.
Yeah.
And that was ranked number two in the two 42 class.
And now that wasn't even ranking.
Yeah.
That's crazy thinking about now.
It'd be like top 50 maybe maybe yeah but it's it's it's just kade weber had like a 2000 total
he was blowing everyone away number one by far and you know now nobody even knows who he is so
it's just yeah like what did john hack do at his last at in uh was it it was 2000 something wasn't it yeah
so i don't know 21 i think he's over 21 now yeah yeah and that's he did a two-way class as well
yeah i mean granted he's not he's the exception to the rule not still not common but yeah it's
just wild uh and we
weren't necessarily planning on talking the whole time to you about steroids but it is just interesting
and people do love there is something about it that people just like want to hear about no matter
what well yeah and i mean they they get you stronger like they work it's the one thing that
definitely works that you can bank on being a factor well
the only thing that happens is and i've even been guilty of this but like the guys who take stuff
want to downplay how much it helps and like i mean i've done it myself i get it but it helps
like crazy you know and yeah i see all these guys now like people doing drug tested meats taking
tons of sarms and stuff like that that is almost as strong as steroids.
Like like RAD 140 is a SARM that's basically as strong as some of these orals like Anadrol and Dianabol.
And they're like passing the drug test.
And like, it's crazy, man.
I saw a meat.
I saw a drug tested meat, USPA.
The guy who won it.
No way he was natural.
No way.
And it's just, it's like, I hate that crap.
You know, like he.
Yeah, that is the worst part.
Because it's like, you do have tons of options.
I mean, there's probably more options to compete untested than there is tested.
Yeah, it's just, I don't know.
I just, it's very hard to know who's telling the truth anymore. So it's kind of, I think it's frustrating for a lot of guys and a lot of guys are like
either completely skeptical of what everyone's hitting naturally, or they just get, uh, get
down about it, you know, seeing guys blowing them away.
Yeah.
So in your training now though, so you're on the other side
of this and you, you know, you're dieting, losing, losing weight intentionally, but also losing
muscle. I mean, mentally, is that, I mean, are you, were you prepared for that or has it been
tough mentally? It's not tough mentally anymore because all my natural hormones are bouncing back.
So I feel pretty good. good and like i feel way healthier
i'm not like scared i'm like killing myself so that that hasn't been too bad but uh it's definitely
weird to like deadlift 200 pounds less and it feels hard you know it's just it's a complete
like today i benched like 320 um for my top set my top single for the week and i mean it feels heavy you know and like i was used
to benching the fours no problem so right it's a it's a completely different change but i also feel
like i feel like if if i'm any higher than like the 198 class i can't hang with those guys unless
i'm taking trend and i haven't taken trend in three years and over three years and like it's
not something I want
to do anymore. Cause it makes me a psycho and like ruins relationships and stuff. And, um, I,
everybody takes it to be the best. So it's like, I don't feel like if I'm two 20 class or two 42,
I don't feel like I can hang at all with those guys without it. So I'm like, what do I have to
do? I have to get as lean as possible, get to the lowest weight class I can and I can you know take some other stuff and I can still kind of hang a little bit but it's pretty hard
to compete with people naturally unless you're like under 200 pounds yeah because they're gonna
be how tall are you Pete I'm six feet exactly so yeah and you I mean when you're saying around 200
at six feet I mean that's pretty lean, 200.
Yeah, like I said, I was 215 today.
I was 212 on Monday.
But the lowest I could possibly diet would be like 200 because I'm already super lean right now.
There's not much left to go.
But I literally, I'm like, if I'm 220 and I'm not taking Trent,
I can't compete at all.
I mean, it's not – like you could even take – this is what I say.
You could take every other steroid at once, and it wouldn't be as good as taking Tren.
It's not the same.
They could put that on the bottle and sell it as a marketing slogan.
What's the worst one for you it comes with tons of side effects and it's bad for you and it'll make you psycho but like that stuff a little bit of it blows away every other steroid by far so
it's like i you know it's not a coincidence guys that like my best total was on that that was my
last meet where i hit a pr total like since
then i haven't had a pr total because i haven't been taking it i've taken everything else but
it's not the same so it's just uh when you see these meets like the current us open and all that
that's what everybody's everybody's doing so it's just not if you're not doing that you gotta find
some other way some other way to motivate yourself and like like, for me, it's just, let me get as lean as I can get as light as I can get as healthy as I can. And, you know,
let the chips fall, fall where they may as far as strength. Yeah. I mean, you're obviously a
competitive guy or goal oriented, goal driven and everything. So it just, it's probably very
important that you have like those health markers and that you're so aware of that now, because you
just can switch the focus and be like, ah, I hit a new PR. I hit a PR on my, you know, my lipid test, you know, like,
you know, like, like my blood test is better than it's ever been before. It's a PR.
Yeah. And I honestly, I get over the moon excited when I, when that happens, I'm like,
when I know that I'm healthier than 99% of the people walking around or I'm the
healthiest guy to meet, like, yeah, I'm, I'm pretty excited about that. Cause I'm like,
I'm, I'm, I'm going to, you know, I want to live a long life for my, you know, to be with my wife
and stuff. And so I don't, I don't want to just like be one of these guys who pushes the gas hard
and then passes away in their fifties or even sixties. I'm like, you know, I want to live to
be 80 or whatever. And so that's a big part of it and like i have some natural goals that keep me motivated i'm like
i want to hit it my next meet where i'm not on anything i want to do a 402 bench which would
be double body weight i've never done that before and then i want to deadlift 750 um so those would
be pretty big that would also be a relative body weight pr for deadlift
so i'm kind of like okay i can get relative body weight prs or aim for those right keeps me it
keeps me motivated because i'm not gonna be pulling 900 pounds but i'm like well if i could
somehow get to uh the most i've done relative to my body weight that'd be cool yep yep that's cool
so that's what keeps me going and it it's very motivating. Like it's,
it's very rewarding to, uh, to progress now for sure. I'm like, I know I'm doing it all on my own.
So it's, it's kind of fun. It's a new challenge. Yeah. One other thing that I think, I mean,
surprised me until I was actually looking through is the sheer amount of YouTube videos you actually
have. Like you're really active on YouTube and you have been for what, six, seven, eight years now?
Yeah.
And I don't know.
This is more on Instagram.
On Instagram, I got like shadow banned for like two years.
Like I would put stuff up and it would not be seen by anybody.
And like I would get like a fraction of the views. Like I used to get like 70,000 video, a hundred thousand on
any Instagram video. And like the last two, three years I was shadow banned. So like nothing came
through. So I wasn't getting any views and like, I lost a bunch of followers. And now like in the
last month or literally the last last two weeks the shadow ban is
gone so it's super strange because like these uh these social media sites can kind of like
yeah they can control i mean we we see it all the time with our stuff it's like we we have stuff
that i mean in our minds we think is way funnier way better than stuff we normally do and it gets
it gets no likes nothing yeah and then something that's really dumb.
We'll just take off because the algorithm starts pushing it in front of
people.
And it sucks.
Cause someone like you that has as many followers that you do and you do a
lot of coaching and a lot,
a lot of stuff that a lot of your thoughts,
business comes through online,
your livelihood.
Yeah.
Right.
Right.
And that's like,
it really sucks that it's outside of your control.
A lot of times. Yeah. It's not, it really sucks that it's outside of your control a lot of times.
Yeah, it's not, you know, back when I had all the views and stuff, I was more in it for myself.
Like it was more of an ego thing.
Yeah.
And now like I basically have social media to like keep my business going.
And I don't get as many views, but I get a lot of clients through because people see what I'm doing with people, with other clients. And so it's, it's, it's still fine, but it's just,
it's really funny. Cause like within the last two weeks, my,
my Instagram videos have been blowing up again. And I'm like, what the heck?
You know? And for, for three years, nothing like nothing.
And then all of a sudden now that Instagram likes Natty lift.
Apparently I'm like, that's all it took
and youtube is kind of the same way like they'll bury your videos if you
throw you know do something controversial or throw off the algorithm it's frustrating because
it didn't used to be like that when instagram first came out it was just in order of who
uploaded the most recent video on your feed now it's like a whole freaking thing if they don't, if they don't like something or whatever, the computer,
like it'll shut you right down and you're screwed. So yep. That's a,
it's interesting to see that now. I'm like, I don't know what's changed,
but thanks I guess.
Yeah.
Another thing that you do on YouTube that we really like is the freaking delicious foods thing that you do that you've got going on.
And you kind of review, you know, a lot of different snack foods and junk foods.
People are probably overlooking in other food channels.
Right, right, right.
And we do this thing on the podcast every week where we always drink these different sparkling waters, you know, so just flavored bubbly waters.
Have you ever done any of those on Freaking Delicious Foods before?
No, I mean, I haven't done anything like that.
And we didn't make one for, like, two years just because, like, we've been busy, you know, opening the gym and stuff.
You know what that's like.
And we just got away from it but
i'm like man we gotta bring this back it's just fun like it doesn't get a ton of views but the
people like it like really like it you know they're diehards for it so we just let go to
gas stations and grocery stores and find random junk food that looks interesting and like try it
out it's been fun yeah i think you need to try us uh like a la croix on there or something and
It's been fun, man.
Yeah.
I think you need to try us like a LaCroix on there or something and give it your ratings.
I'll try it.
I'll definitely.
My parents drink those, so I'm like, all right, I'll try it.
Isn't LaCroix a Wisconsin company?
I think it is.
I'm pretty sure it is.
That's why.
Yeah.
That's probably it.
You guys got to try, though, these Snyder's pretzel sticks freaking that's the real deal that's the sour
cream and onion you can find them at walmart snyder's pretzel sticks sour cream and onion
all right we'll get it on the list yeah i'm it's it's like i i tried that on the last video and i
was like holy crap like this is amazing so so is that if you had to pick like in the hall of fame for freaking
delicious foods would that be one of them oh yeah like they're legit what else would be in the hall
of fame gosh that's a tough quote oh you know what the okay this is to get me more i'm obsessed
with food now too because i'm dieting all the time so i'm like that's all i think about i'm
obsessed over it because i have one cheat meal or cheat day per week it turned into
a cheat day now because i'm like i gotta get my cravings out of the way yeah so i'll uh i'll gain
like five pounds during these cheat days and like the the other six days of the six days of the week
i'm dieting hard i'm doing cardio and whatever so i'm still losing weight it's fine but um
screaming sicilian pizza brand their philly cheesesteak pizza is the best pizza i've ever had
so is this a frozen like or what people people hate on frozen pizzas but i'm like this is this
is incredible so where can i also uh i don't know if you have them out there kroger i don't know if
you have in south dakota uh maybe walmart they carry some of them but they don't carry that one okay i'll have to do some looking yeah yeah okay and then i also like the detroit motor motor city or motor style
pizza company and something like that detroit style pizza company and they make like a five
cheese bread pizza and that is the bomb i'm pizza is my favorite food for sure like fried chicken and pizza we gotta ask you
something we've been having this little debate the last couple episodes here where um first of all
do you drink milk do you like milk so i grew up in wisconsin i used to go crazy with it but i do
not anymore i just drink uh i don't drink it. I use it for cereal, almond milk.
That's it.
This is a tough question because the question is
do pizza and milk go good together?
Yes.
Tommy and I are on the opposite sides of the fence.
I love pizza and milk together.
Not saying that they just go together
but Tanner specifically brought up,
he kind of said there's nothing like pizza
and a big cold glass of milk.
And I was like, well, I think I'd pick a lot of things
before I'd single out milk with my pizza,
but that got a lot of reaction from people recently.
Yeah, I mean, I think,
I don't know if milk would be my first choice,
but milk and pizza can go well together.
I just haven't had milk in a million years, like real milk.
Yeah.
I just do the almond milk on just in cereal.
Cause I do like cereal for cheat,
for cheat days.
Not normally though.
I eat boring food.
That sucks.
But yeah.
So you are,
you're,
you are,
would you say if,
if you,
you're having a cheat day and you're going to have pizza,
would you lean towards frozen pizza over getting pizza from one of the big Would you say if you're having a cheat day and you're going to have pizza,
would you lean towards frozen pizza over getting pizza from one of the big pizza chains?
Hell yes.
Okay.
People rag on me, but I'm like, I think frozen pizza is way better than the chains. Frozen pizzas come a long ways.
There's so many options. There are a lot of. Like there's some, I do. There's so many options.
There are,
there's a flavor for everybody.
Yeah.
You don't,
you could,
there's a million of them.
Like there's one for anybody,
like no matter what your style that you're going to find one,
it's amazing.
And the thing with the only reason I'm doing like takeout now is because
the,
our oven got like fried.
So I can't make any,
um,
it's an electrical issue. Somebody, somebody wired something wrong and it like fried so i can't make any um it's an electrical issue somebody somebody
wired something wrong and it like fried the oven but so that kind of sucks i have to replace the
oven part but yeah so i've been doing papa john's with philly cheesesteak but it's not the same
it's good don't get me wrong it's just not like and we got marco's pizza
frozen pizzas are, I mean,
there's no better food.
I'm telling you guys.
I do like a good frozen pizza.
And I like it from the standpoint of,
I don't have to go anywhere or even interact with anyone else.
These frozen pizzas you're saying though,
like,
are they,
as far as frozen pizza goes,
like,
are they in the premium price tier?
Are they like under like $8?
Yeah.
These,
these pizzas will be,
I think they're about seven, eight bucks. So I get the more expensive ones. As far as frozen pizza goes, or are they like under like $8? Yeah, these pizzas will be,
I think they're about seven, eight bucks.
So I get the more expensive ones.
As far as frozen pizza goes,
I mean, that's like the high class right there.
Yeah, but I mean, if you look at it like,
okay, you get a takeout pizza.
Oh yeah, no, it's still way cheaper.
Unless you go to Little Caesars.
Oh yeah, Little Caesars. Oh, Domino's does have, you know,
like the six for three or whatever their prices. They actually are pretty cheap too. Yeah, Little Caesars. Oh, Domino's does have the six for three or whatever their price is.
They actually are pretty cheap, too.
Yeah.
Little Caesars is very cheap.
I don't know what they make that out of.
It tastes okay, but it is the cheapest ingredients known to man.
I don't know what they're making out of, but they have a way of making that just feel cheap.
Yeah, it's – I don't know.
I haven't had too much Little Caesars because like i said i was
doing frozen and then i was stuck with papa john's because they have the philly but uh
i i literally all week long i think about for that one day like i compile a list of what i
want to eat like i think every day i'm like oh maybe i want to add some donuts this week to them
to that cheat day yeah and you know like i obsess over it i'm like what do i want to add some donuts this week to them to that cheat day. And you know, like I obsess over it. I'm like,
what do I want to add this week? Okay. It's freaking crazy.
That's how hungry you get.
But could you, could you do the diet that you do without having that day?
No, I would just binge.
I would just freak out and binge like every night.
Cause the cravings get bad in the evening. You're just like about,
about 6 PM onward. I just started like having cravings, like insane. Cause you're just like about 6 p.m onward i
just started like having cravings like insane because i'm not as busy i'm not doing stuff
you're trying to like stew on it yeah i'm watching tv and trying to you know it just it sucks but
you know i wouldn't even i'm telling you guys i wouldn't be able to do this diet if it wasn't for
my lifting goals like if i didn't have the goal to compete at 90 kilos this diet would have
went out the window a long time ago that's the only thing keeping me motivated like i want to
hit these numbers at 198 i'm very motivated to do so but if that wasn't there i would have been
screwed like that's what that's what keeps me going with the diet because i i'm hungry all the
time you know like i've lost 50 pounds. Like it's tough.
It's really tough.
Like I just want to murder some food.
But I save myself that one day.
And if I do it right, it doesn't set me back to where I'm not.
I still have a productive week.
I still lose weight in the end.
It's not like it's a net loss.
So I just give myself that one day to like freak out and get all my cravings out of the way.
And then. Makes sense to me.
That's a good way of doing it.
Pete, we've got this game that we play with every guest.
It's called Overrated, Underrated.
And we've got a series of topics for you, about four of them here, that are special Pete Rubish topics.
And it's just your job.
We'll give you the topic, and you decide whether it's overrated or underrated and you can
elaborate it as much on that or as little as you want to but you do have to decide overrated or
underrated and this is a pretty serious intense game here so oh i'm down all right all right
overrated or underrated front load washers i mean underrated that's that's what we had in the basement like right behind the deadlift
platform like that's a classic so we we actually used to have the top load but like we switched
to the front load then all my videos were with those in the background so i gotta go underrated
well i do are those is that washer and dryer set still around yeah i think it's a maytag or something i don't know yeah
i'd have to ask my dad but yeah it's just iconic so they are iconic underrated underrated for sure
probably you probably have to be i mean as far as maytag goes there probably can't be too many
people that have more views on youtube with maytag washer and dryers than you should
you should have had a maytag sponsorship yeah i mean i feel like that'd be good for everybody but
yeah we endorse we endorse everything this guy's doing in front of our wash machines
yeah that'd be awesome right you know that'd be a good sponsorship to have very handy and practical
yeah yeah uh they probably make
they probably make ovens so you could get your your uh pizza fix the full kitchen set you know
get that stainless steel you're probably right yeah okay gosh i love some pizza
all right overrated or underrated hawaiian shirts
uh overrated i mean here's the thing though i'm not a big fan of them but i have like hawaiian shorts
so i'm kind of going the other route and then my dad has like a his midlife crisis i kid you not
was he got like 100 hawaiian shirts like nice ones like he would search them out no he would
like get on ebay and like look for the nicest ones like he would like this was serious like
he did this for years so if you go in my parents closet there's like 100 hawaiian shirts but they're like super
nice rayon you know like really nice material and yeah so he would say otherwise but uh that was his
thing like so where do you think the inspiration for that came from from him i have no freaking
clue that was just one day he needed him i'm telling you that was his
midlife crisis yeah 100 percent uh haven't you said you're you you are a have you mentioned
that you'd even like to move to hawaii at one point in time live there oh yeah i try to do i
mean our gym's named after there i i got i've i got a bunch of shirts that are uh or shorts that
are like hawaiian print um it's it's basically we go there
every year like we want to move there eventually it's just very expensive yeah have you been cost
of living is crazy have you been to multiple islands there i have uh my wife kelly is not but
she we went to maui like 44 or 5 years ago the first for the first time and she just fell in
love with it.
So she's pretty dead set on going back there.
And we have friends there.
There's like one powerlifting gym on the island with calibrated plates and stuff, kind of like yours.
And we're friends with the owners, and they like buried us and everything.
And so we go back to visit them.
I train them.
They're my clients.
That's cool. We've got relationships over there and we,
we love Maui.
So I've been to the big Island when I was a kid and I went to Oahu and I
loved them too.
But I've always wanted to go to Kauai,
but I,
Kelly has always like dead set on Maui.
That's her thing.
So I'm cool with it.
It's fun.
I did the big Island a couple of years ago and I mean,
it's a,
it's a cool place. Hawaii. I mean, Hawaii was just, it's beautiful. It's fun. I did the Big Island a couple years ago, and it's a cool place.
Hawaii in general is just beautiful.
It's really awesome.
And what people don't realize, every island is very different from one another.
They're very different.
If you go to them, they're nothing like each other.
It's like their own country, almost.
The vibes are different.
The things to do are different the scenery is
different it's just um they're all they're not just grouped into like you know hawaii like it's
not just one big place almost it's like its own individual islands so they all got their own
flavor yeah if you move there someday though you can just raid your dad's closet and you'd have a full outfit.
I'd be set.
The wardrobe's ready to go.
Well, shoot, you can go everywhere over there shirtless.
You don't even need a shirt.
It's chill.
It's like whatever, you know?
It's actually warm.
It's not like Wisconsin weather.
No, they were telling me they think it's cold when it's like 75.
I'm like, what?
God, it's cold. I'm like, what? God, it's cold.
I'm like, what?
You guys know in South Dakota, brutal.
I think, did we have 60 mile an hour winds this past day ago?
It's been freezing.
Yesterday's high was like 34 degrees or something like that.
How far are you guys from Sioux Falls?
About three hours. We say not not far but it's like a
three-hour drive yeah we're north really yeah yeah we're almost what about uh rapid city that's
about five hours but oh my god every time we do a power lifting meet we either have to go to sioux
falls or rapid city like that's our that's the close yeah that's where we would do meets at or
fargo north dakota yeah i've wanted to i've wanted to do a meet in rapid city because kelly's never been there and
i went there uh when i was a kid and i loved it yeah i loved it as far as like tourist stuff goes
i mean it's oh it's awesome it's awesome they in the badlands yep there and there's a bad land
there's usually a couple meets out there a year i just signed up for one in june of this summer
that i'm doing out there.
Like you should, you should definitely, uh, if you could plan one out, right.
They, they do USPA ones out there now more commonly.
So, uh, they run a few.
I got a client doing that one.
Okay.
Right on.
So he's coming down from Canada, but geez, can you do that?
Can they do that?
Like, can they with COVID?
Right.
Like I think I,
well,
it's on the fence now.
He was saying that we hope,
we hope he can.
Cause I think he can pull 800,
but I'm like,
I don't know.
I think he could pull 800,
but we don't know if we can get into the country and come back without.
Well,
that's,
I think he can get,
get here. So he could probably do the meat.
It's like,
yeah.
He said something about like,
they're very strict about coming back into the country so
that's the hang up yeah but uh he was going to come down to rapid city meet that one you're
talking about and yeah i definitely i i love rapid city like i have childhood childhood memories of
it and it was awesome so it is awesome we go We both go there quite often, too.
Okay, overrated or underrated?
Brett Favre.
Underrated just because he's a Packers legend. I mean, I know Aaron Rodgers took over,
and now it looks like they're trying to run him out of town in another year.
But they're all legends, so we've been lucky to have really good
quarterback play for like 30 years so from two guys i can't that makes it easier to be a good
team for sure it's kind of strange how they're trying to like they're very weird about rogers
about like him coming back and stuff it's it's strange so i don't know what's going to happen
it's kind of disappointing but let's hope they know what they're doing.
Time will tell.
We got a lot of Vikings,
Minnesota Vikings fans around here.
That's what,
you know,
Brett Favre was a Viking.
That's true.
And he was also a New York jet.
People do forget about the jet.
Yeah.
The Viking.
People don't know that.
Yeah.
South Dakota is a big Minnesota Vikings state.
That's their primary team.
Over here, it's probably 70% Vikings, 30% Packers.
Well, very western part of the state, you have some Broncos fans too.
Yeah, Broncos are over there.
What about for college teams?
I mean, I know you guys have South Dakota.
Well, yeah, some people are, I guess, SDSU.
But really, it's still a separate category.
Yeah, if you're talking big schools,
like people like University of Minnesota, Nebraska.
Nebraska, that's what I thought.
A lot of Cornhuskers football fans.
And then really, it's just whoever's good.
Like, there's Texas Longhorns.
You know, I think they're fans everywhere.
There's Alabama fans, Auburn fans.
It's just whoever's good. Alabama fans everywhere. There's Alabama fans, Auburn fans. It's just whoever's good.
There's a ton of Alabama fans around here.
Sure, I'll be an Alabama fan.
They're going to be in the national championship every year.
There's a 50% chance they will win.
About a 90% chance they'll be in it.
I can't stand it.
There's tons of them around here in Tennessee.
It's brutal.
If you're a Tennessee Volunteers fan, that's legit like you have to suffer every year like you're a diehard
you're legit like you they're never that good like there's always some disaster going on
and then people root for them i respect that but like alabama is the easy way out i don't know
are you a badgers fan then or 100 not even die hard die hard football fan
badgers and packers like that's what i those are the sports i live for watching you know
love it like i'm i get so into it i get really upset if they lose and stuff
you know what you were saying with the volunteers though like it's the same thing with basically
being a minnesota sports fan is you know there's going to be some type of epic collapse and then
you just have to come back the next year and support them whether it's i mean if you're a
timberwolves fan there just isn't a chance for a collapse yeah it's just nothing there been good
ever i mean the vikings will blow something and then the twins might give you a sense but then
they're going to lose the yankees in the first round of the playoffs so yeah i've we've seen
that a few times yeah okay last one here on overrated
underrated and we're going back to food and we're we're we're hoping you know what this is if not
we will have we'll call an audible here but overrated or underrated dots pretzels have you
oh yeah those are those are legit no i i'll say underrated because i've tried them and uh
that's basically what these pretzel sticks I was talking about are.
They might be like a Dots knockoff.
Snyder's is an established brand.
They've been around forever, but they made pretzel sticks,
which look exactly like the Dots pretzels.
Right.
But what I like about those are the sour cream and onion seasoning.
It's amazing.
But I've tried Dots, and it's really freaking good.
People don't even know.
They are good.
Yep.
Those are at the grocery store right next to our gym.
They're made in North Dakota.
Okay.
I didn't know that.
They're amazing.
Yeah.
First time I tried them, I was like, wow, this is way better than I thought they'd be.
I was blown away.
Yeah, not too bad.
All right.
Good stuff.
Oh, we're going to add in one extra bonus one.
Since John Hacks from Wisconsin, we got his take on this,
but we need to get your take now.
Overrated or underrated, making a murderer?
Overrated.
I mean, I kind of watched it a little bit, but it was like, yeah,
there's better stuff out there as far as like true crime. I'm not like a true crime guy but i i do get into it sometimes like i'll
watch something i'll be like that's crazy um but i don't i don't watch true crime very often but
so do you remember like any of the characters from the show all right not really like kelly
gets way more into that than i do my wife does so she's fascinated by that stuff
you weren't you didn't grow up uh in manitowoc uh then and you weren't friends with like steven
avery or brendan no we were we were in this we were in southern wisconsin like northern
wisconsin's like a different state almost it's just yeah it's very rural and like just different vibes
completely than the city life of the south right like madison stuff so john and i were
i mean the other as well as we were around cornfields that's all there is around there
too but outside of the city like where john grew up and stuff mount horup it's just like
cornfields and stuff but yeah like tennessee there's no cornfields
wisconsin it's like cornfields everywhere like that's what that's what there is yep so it's
weird yes uh well good news uh pete you passed overrated underrated you got a passing grade so
that's oh i appreciate that we can we can put the show out after yeah uh no you know
what i remember but one thing about south dakota pronghorns everywhere oh really that's more of a
west river thing yeah yeah like out at rapid city and stuff yeah that would be and like the badlands
and yeah yeah you can see them everywhere yeah yeah yeah i. Yeah. Right on the day, but.
Yeah, right, right.
No, that kind of covers most of what we wanted to talk to you about,
I think, today.
Is there anything else you need to get out there?
You know, where do people get at you if they're interested in coaching
and all that stuff?
Yeah, my email is just prstrength1 at gmail.com.
So you can find that on like YouTube and stuff
and yeah just hit me up on there
and get going with you
so that's about it though
awesome cool
that's good stuff Pete I'm glad we got to get you
on here finally
yes sir yeah I appreciate it guys it was awesome
cool thanks Pete
yes sir appreciate you guys
yep see ya
bye
Pete Rubish oh we didn't ask him about Awesome. Thanks, Pete. Yes, sir. Appreciate you guys. Yep. See you. Bye.
Pete Rubish.
Oh, we didn't ask him about.
Cool beans.
Cool beans.
Beans.
Cool beans.
I wonder if he thinks cool beans are a good snack.
Oh, that's true.
He should have cool beans on freaking delicious foods.
One bag of cool beans. One bag of cool beans.
How many would be in the bag, though?
Probably like five.
Or two. Or two.
Or two, yeah.
A number between one and five, I guess.
Pete does get two cool beans though for his performance
on the Astronomics podcast.
That was very interesting.
I don't know that we've ever really talked to anyone
on the podcast about steroids before.
We didn't really talk about lifting a whole lot,
but we've never, I don't think we've ever really talked about steroids on the, I mean't really talk about lifting a whole lot but we've like never i don't think
we've ever really talked about steroids on the on the uh i mean we're both we're both natural
tanner so we have nothing to add to that conversation we don't but it's like just
interesting for us to yeah i get at least someone that's going to be honest about it yeah like it's
just it just is compelling it is you know it just is like myself included people want to hear about it it's just
like i want it's like this thing that is a really big part of elite lifting yeah a lot of people
don't talk about right right definitely talk about it more now than they did five years ago but a lot
of people still do not talk about it at all right not that they have to but no no it is interesting
to hear that side of it yeah yes it is cool beans very cool beans yeah
we get kind of if we hit two things pretty hard with pete it was the steroid stuff and the snacks
which i love the snack food stuff just as much as steroids and snacks yeah right they're like
perfect podcast yeah that was cool beans we do have uh some new drops lined up coming out soon um probably
actually so we're recording this on march 31st so
let's see we don't we won't have anything out yet by the time you know not by the time you hear
this but we won't have anything um within the next week or two it
will be on right and we have just so much freaking stuff and that's not yeah i mean we don't want to
we don't want to downplay what's coming up next but the next not only the next six months but the
next just the rest of 2021 is just crazy what the stuff we have we have in the pipeline we have uh
and just like we're getting stuff moving and getting so many things
like lined up and on the way here like it's just it's all it all takes a little while to just keep
all the balls rolling at the same time and like we are doing it that is a good way it's a lot of
we're rolling a lot of balls at once like that is literally what we're doing it's like you're not
trying to keep the one ball boulder rolling up the hill we're running back and forth like
trying to keep like the six boulders constantly trying to push one boulder rolling up the hill. We're running back and forth trying to keep six boulders.
Constantly trying to push these boulders down the hill.
They just keep showing up.
Yes.
So I'm really excited, though, about the stuff we have coming.
We have some great stuff coming.
We do have some really cool stuff coming.
It's funny because we have so many drops and new stuff that we're planning that i'm already moved on
beyond like the next drop we're already looking two or three ahead well i'm already like my
excitement over that is already like it's like oh that's not new yeah like that's not new anymore
like because that's been in the works for so long we still haven't even gotten it out there so i'm
like excited about like the third drop from now right now but i think it's it
probably you know a lot of massonomic stuff has for the most part um if it's popular it's stuck
around right for a long time right um this year it probably will start to switch to more of a
um if you don't get in on it the first time not saying you'll never get it but it may not be it
might not be restocked or it might not be in stock permanently
like some things are just because we are going to do a lot less restock yeah just because we're
starting to get so many more items have too many things no thousands of different items like stock
at all there would be if we physically can't hold on or manage like yeah you know we're not walmart
like but we could be maybe we are are Walmart. Maybe we are Walmart's
secret, uh, like subdivision. Um, but yeah, so I, that is a really good point. Like it's going
to switch. It's kind of transitioning now to a lot less restocking and things might come back
eventually. But to that point, if you see something that's new and you want it, uh, don't
wait. And that's not like
yeah and if something's really popular like we're gonna get it back right but um a lot of these
things that we do we do have a lot of things in the store and um things kind of might disappear
they might not might not be moving as fast um like things like that probably won't be around as long
so right uh yeah you're not gonna want to sit on things yeah the real question is are we gonna have
breaking parallel shorts that is the real question is, are we going to have breaking parallel shorts?
That is the real question.
That's the question everyone wants to know the answer to.
The internet seems to think we should.
Unfortunately, nobody's going to get an answer to that.
But that's what everyone wants to know.
To be continued, right?
Yeah, to be continued.
What we do know is, please, for the love of God, don't buy our hats.
Tanner had to buy more boxes to ship the hats in because so many people are buying our hats. Tanner had to buy more boxes to ship the hats in
because so many people are buying our hats.
Thankfully, we're almost ran completely out of hats.
So like, yeah.
Well, and I guess if we just run out of hat boxes,
we just, people can buy the hats.
We just don't have to ship them then, right?
You're just not even going to get them anymore.
Do we have any breaking news over there?
Pete goes, I should have asked, he just messaged.
He goes, I should have asked y' just messaged. He goes, I should have asked you all overrated or underrated wall drug.
That one is for sure overrated.
Far overrated.
Marketing?
Their marketing skills, I don't think anymore.
But at one point, their marketing skills were maybe the most underrated marketing skills.
And you know what I really respect about their marketing skills?
That it's billboards.
Lots of billboards.
It's lots of billboards.
Their marketing is underrated the place very overrated very free ice water
just like every other civilized place in the world can you put a price on free ice water
now that you say it tanner and i think about it no you can't you can't really put a price on
free ice water there is no there's no price you
can charge for it yeah i guess the only thing they have is uh if you're going to the badlands
it is like the last gas station you can take before you go to the badlands depending on what
direction you come in from i have stopped at that wall gas station like close to the interstate many
times i remember being a little kid and my grandparents took me there one time and even being a little kid being like this is lame yeah this is not fun
fall drugs so extremely overrated like not even like yeah not even their marketing games on point
but everything else way over yeah uh also podcast wise you could uh tell a friend about the podcast we like it if you're telling friends
leave us a five-star review we like it if you're leaving us reviews and become a supporting member

I'm all right with guilt-supporting memberships.
Yep, we'll take that, too.
Yes.
Is that about it?
I think that's probably everything.
There was one more thing that I wanted to talk about today, Tommy.
One.
I saved the very best thing for last.
One more thing.
Yes, the very best thing for last.
