Starting point is 00:00:00 You know, thanks for what you do with your podcasts and all the rest. You're doing a great job. Hope everybody keeps tuning in. You get a lot of good info, a lot of insights, understandings of how to get strong, how to stay strong, how to use your strength. You do a great job, dude. You make things better than they are in real life, I think.
Starting point is 00:00:15 If you don't follow Massanomics, y'all do it. Social media, website, everything. Massanomics! Massanomics! science everything massonomics welcome back everyone for episode 316 of the massonomics podcast the lifting podcast about near finn my name is tanner and my name is tommy 316 just like uh austin 316 just like it or what was what's the action is it john 316 or i think so i think it is but john 316 i think and i don't know what that's about do you i think it's about stone cold
Starting point is 00:00:54 steve austin that's what it was about yep something about a stunner yes yes vince mcmahon or oh hell yeah more impersonations this week on the Mastodonomics podcast. We do have a lot to get to this week, Tommy. We've got Ray Williams as a guest coming up. We also have a very special surprise guest. It'll be the mole. All will be revealed. All will be revealed this episode, right?
Starting point is 00:01:19 Mastodonomics tell all. And that will be before Ray Williams. We'll get to that. So everyone's, we got a full house in the live listening Discord crew party. It is. It's a very active Q&A tonight, like more so than. We actually had problems. We couldn't get on ourselves because there's too many people.
Starting point is 00:01:36 We'll have to look in the future of how we get that. Maybe some more people can get in all at the same time. We haven't had that problem yet. So that's a good, new, exciting problem to have. have great problem to have you know what else is good what spud inc our good friends over at spud inc uh i was going to tell you have i ever told you about the hillbilly supra deluxe pulley system you have not but you have my attention okay so what i'm going to tell you about is the hillbilly supra deluxe pulley system what this is is the super serum soldier to the top selling econo pulley system spud inc being the first to bring the home pulley system to the market several years
Starting point is 00:02:15 before the pandemic they also aspire to make their products better and even more long lasting than they already are after all everyone wants the bigger and better version. So, after much testing and perfecting, the Spuddy team came out with the Hillbilly Supa Deluxe pulley system. It's brutally more handsome and built to defend the universe. They added many upgrades for this one. The HSD pulley system uses a thicker gauge steel casing with a nylon pulley. They added a more durable
Starting point is 00:02:45 nylon cable with ball stopper attachment to catch it at the top. Those features create a higher loading capacity while maintaining a smooth superhero pull. It still comes with the 18-inch load pin and short ab strap akin to the regular Econo pulley system system but that's the only resemblance there the next edition was an adjustable nylon strap for the pulley in summation it made this like the best at home pulley attachment you could throw on top of your rack that's out there so if you're an at home gym user and you don't have any pulley set up right now go to sputting straps and check out the hillbilly supa deluxe pulley system and i would say not only if you don't have any pulley set up right now, go to Spud Ink Straps and check out the Hillbilly Supa Deluxe Pulley System. And I would say not only if you don't have a pulley system, but you have an existing one, it's not that great.
Starting point is 00:03:31 You need the Hillbilly. You need to upgrade. Hillbilly Deluxe. And that's found at spud-ink-straps.com. Thank you, Spud Ink. This show is also brought to you by our good close personal friends over at the strength co grant brogy can i tell you a little bit about big grant please do he was born in the late 80s much like ourselves nearly two decades after buddy caps began lifting in the late 90s grants
Starting point is 00:03:58 brother jordan bought him the new encyclopedia of modern bodybuilding by arnold schwarzenegger and grants love for weightlifting began. In 2001, Grant joined the local YMCA, much like ourselves again, and began training with weights. In 2009, Grant discovered the book of starting strength, and in 2012, as a lieutenant in the Marine Corps, he began teaching Marines this method. In 2017, Grant opened his first gym in Costa Mesa, California,
Starting point is 00:04:23 and the Strength Co. was born. In 2020, during a major iron shortage, Grant sought to bring back quality manufacturing of Olympic barbell plates to America. His innovation, adaptation, and can-do attitude brought about the greatest plates made in decades. The plates were accurate, antifragile, and instantly became the go-to plates
Starting point is 00:04:40 of hundreds of lifters at the Massanomics gym. Hundreds of lifters being a generous number of lifters at massonomics gym so go buy some strength co plates they're the best plates ever and i think they're just coming out with the 35 soon so get some 35 pound strength co plates the discord already has a theory that they might have to add 2022 grant was named the mole of massonomics into the timeline but we all will be revealed won't it tommy it will soon enough so that's the big aside from having ray as a guest here that is the big headline of this episode is we're going to reveal the mole and along with the mole reveal comes the announcement of our new contest that will be coming and have we said that that's part of it
Starting point is 00:05:19 have people heard that i think people generally know so we do have a new uh basically an instagram massonomics contest that's coming here that we're going to get to the details of all of that. But we can't really spill that before we spill the beans on who the mole is. Yeah, I just, I can hardly talk this episode. I don't want to let anything slip. I know. I keep thinking about that myself. I just have the mole just blazed into my brain.
Starting point is 00:05:40 The mole will be revealed, but it can't be revealed just quite yet. And subconsciously I get scared it's going to come out. Yes. Tanner, we're kind of circus goers ourselves it can't be revealed just quite yet. And subconsciously, I get scared it's going to come out. Yes. Tanner, we're kind of circus goers ourselves, aren't we? That's true. We both went to the circus. We actually went to, we sat together at the circus. We both have an appreciation for those finer, obscure skills, don't we?
Starting point is 00:05:57 Yes, we do. Circus is a heck of a entertainment show, isn't it? It's a real crowd, really draws a crowd in this part yeah this part of the country here um it was an incredibly packed house they said it was turn people away at the door yeah luckily we both made it just in time we had some of the last season we did and also we all have kids young enough that one you make it through the to the first intermission and it's like we're out of here yeah the circus has two or three intermissions now we only make it to one yep uh i was entertained though i would have liked to stay longer i've seen
Starting point is 00:06:29 it like every single year and it never changes but uh but why ruin a good i actually don't i don't mind the circus at all i think it's yeah somewhat entertaining and a good value with with the kids the kids love it so yeah it's good enough for me. Absolutely. We had a few. What about the ugly water? Oh, yes. That's a pretty important announcement for us. Yeah, I didn't really know what was going on. I just saw some stuff in the Discord talking about ugly the one day.
Starting point is 00:06:58 And so I, like when I see anything going on in the Discord, I don't understand it. I just got to go Google and get to the bottom of it. Because the Discord, there's too many messages to get to the bottom of it right away. Apparently, the company has closed up shop. Looks like it. That's what it seems to be. I still have
Starting point is 00:07:13 maybe a couple six-packs at home but now I'm coveting them. It's like, ooh, this is a collector's item. In the little bit I was reading, it looked like they were a UK company. That's what it sounds like. And it also sounded like their, at the time, president, CEO, whatever it was, stepped down, was it like last November or something like that? And then they named someone else.
Starting point is 00:07:38 And then after that, it seemed like things were all downhill. Like it pretty much went into radio silence at that point. I think they went wrong with never get securing that massonomics podcast well i definitely didn't help their cause that's for sure um it's something i was reading though it said that they were a pretty small company they only had like eight employees really which was shockingly small especially when they it said they were in uh what was it a bunch of cvs's and some other things but yeah it goes to show that uh how hard i guess it is to scale a beverage company true um i guess what i would say is they didn't sponsor the massonomics podcast then they went out of business yeah are
Starting point is 00:08:16 you a business owner do you want that to happen to your business right so draw your whatever lines you want like clearly they failed because of the lack of an active community, and that's one thing we can promise. Yes. Promise any sponsors a very active community. Exactly. So goodbye, Ugly Water, it seems like. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:34 Sad to see them go. Goodbye, Cherry Cola. Yeah. Goodbye. The Dr. Pepper one. Dr. Pepper. Cotton Candy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:43 We had that one on here, I think, before. We had quite a few oddballs like i'm having a hard time remembering some of our most highly rated uh cans definitely most discussed cans yeah there was no shortage of uh conversation around any of their flavors no so yeah it's a sad one yeah r.i.p speaking of that cedric uh mcmillan yeah too and massonomics tie-in when we went to the year the one year that we did watch the full arnold um our that was our first year ever at it first year at the arnold and the only time we actually went and watched the bodybuilding bodybuilding show and were you sitting down below i was i was too you were really close and i was just by myself
Starting point is 00:09:24 like kind of yeah what section were you like you really were like by yourself over there there was nobody i mean there was like rows where i was just like nobody around there might not have been anyone within like 10 seats of you in either full disclosure i don't know if i completely snoring fell asleep but i was falling asleep like you know i was in and out of conscious for various parts of the that final uh bodybuilding show it got a little long but the final two call outs i think were uh cedric and dallas mccarver weren't they and you got a lot i thought that yeah i thought they were yeah cedric won it for sure he won yeah yeah and um but dallas mccarver passed away a few years ago
Starting point is 00:10:03 too right yeah so both the guys that we kind of and you could tell those two were standouts amongst everyone else on the stage it was those two um but it does seem like there's been a lot of like but i mean people other people have been talking about like there's been a lot of people like in the bodybuilding community that have passed away in the last few years yeah i think the sport's kind of hard on your body yeah yeah although i think it was um greg knuckles they had there was some research on like actually bodybuilders in comparison to general public and like mortality rates at certain ages it wasn't different oh really like yeah it wasn't actually different yeah it's but that's
Starting point is 00:10:48 just like i think it was like one study or yeah i would also be curious what their definition for bodybuilder was was like isb right or was it someone who identifies as being a body yeah i know absolutely none of this i may have that all confused what's there was something about that they are smart though so i'm sure they had the right well and it wasn't them you know it wasn't research they had done or anything like that but there was just something to that but um it seems like especially most recently there's just been a lot of people oh it seems like at least every six months some well-known bodybuilder and not because like they're in their 70s right yeah it's for austin lloyd i don't know if you know who that is.
Starting point is 00:11:25 He wasn't a top-level bodybuilder, but he was just a big YouTube personality that talked very openly about his drug use. And he died this year, too. He was one of the first guys on YouTube to talk so openly about steroid use. But he also... What's his name? Boston Lloyd. Ah, man. Yeah. It's not ringing a bell with me. That's a deep callback.
Starting point is 00:11:49 But that's not good, right? No. No, dying is not good. No. The opposite of that is usually better. Boy, all this mole talk, I just, not sure where to go. Do we have a can, too?
Starting point is 00:12:06 We do have a can. Okay. I'm just pretty thirsty. Okay. Let's pop into that. This is a what's in the can tanner. Oh, okay. So, suit up, Barney Stinson style.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Ah. Watch out now. You didn't give me an opportunity to say it, did you? Got ahead of you. Beat me to it. But I would like to take this opportunity to talk more about How I Met Your Mother. No! No!
Starting point is 00:12:31 For anyone that's new to the podcast, Tommy really likes How I Met Your Mother and How I Met Your Mother references. So please send him DMs about your favorite How I Met Your Mother episodes. Okay. Are you ready? Yes. I'll give you a hint. There's a cock sauce koozie on it oh so it's sweet and tangy so you know it's i've really been hitting the cock sauce a lot
Starting point is 00:12:54 actually just finished a bottle so cam if you're you're out there i gotta re-up yeah i've been out for a long time um it's good i it's really like i'm kind of i'm on i really am on a big cock socks kick right now all right let's dive into this can i feel like i can almost get a smell here it's smells let me sip interesting yeah that's what i smelled i could smell the smell that i was thinking it smelled a little like uh vanilla or what i would usually say is cream soda it feels like i always think cream soda and it's never really is quite cream soda it's always like lemon lime yeah cherry cherry sparkling water it has it doesn't have a fruity taste to me it has that uh like vanilla it has a vanilla flavor to me okay i mean could it be just called like uh nothing's ever called vanilla is it that's why
Starting point is 00:14:03 lean torrents cream soda i'm's why I lean towards cream soda. I'm going to say it's a cream soda sparkling water. All right. Why don't you take a look here, Tanner? Get to the bottom of this. Oh, it's cock sauce. Oh, is this cotton candy? No.
Starting point is 00:14:16 Keep looking. Keep looking. Birthday cake. Okay. Yeah. I found a few. I know when we had birthday cake before i caught it thought it was cream soda too yeah i found the ugly birthday cake i had a couple rolling in the back of the fridge nice and what better time to bust them out for right then in remembrance right yeah in memoriam
Starting point is 00:14:36 i like this beverage but i eat everyone knows i'm a ugly guy i'm still this is like my least favorite one we ever had of theirs. I agree. Just because birthday cake isn't. It's a little too. The preferred liquid flavor. Yeah, right, right. It definitely tastes like birthday cake.
Starting point is 00:14:53 It does. But that's just not like a flavor I like to drink. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Probably not a whole lot of these left in the world. What do you give it? I think the first time we did this i probably gave it a three and a half i think but i'd go with are you gonna give
Starting point is 00:15:10 it a three i mean flavor strength wise it's a really strong flavor it's like a four in strength of flavor strength is not the only uh like but as far as me enjoying this can it's maybe like a two and a half or three i just i like i probably won't be able to finish this one yeah just don't i'd give it a three and a half i'm probably two and a half or three okay um do we need to uh is all the mole is it mole talk time i think it's just about you have the little phone yeah i've got the jack if is anyone on the discord crew ready to find out who the mole is we yeah we need the discord to any listeners that aren't privy to this there's been this long long long running thing that we've within uh within our supporting membership we've had one mole planted for months now many months that uh they've
Starting point is 00:15:56 been in on this upcoming contest for many months and um they've been secretly you know taking notes they've had the inside look, just like any mole. They've known the inner workings. And they've kept it secret. There's been a lot of different suspicions out there, but nobody has exactly known. Should we call the mole now? I think we should do it.
Starting point is 00:16:23 All will be revealed, won't it? We're not going to kick the Discord off for this call here. Oh, are you dialing yet? I just got a copy. Okay, I was getting scared I wasn't. It'd be terrible to have a technical error to come this far. Yeah, we can't do that. Let's easier said than done geez gotta run one of those things tanner that's just not letting me copy and paste the way i want to all right now i'm gonna get it okay
Starting point is 00:16:54 oh yeah i think i can just call right from there just click on it there we go okay. There we go. Okay. Okay. Here we go. Hey, what's up? Is this Big Eddie? This is Big Eddie. Big Eddie, how's it going? This is Tanner and Tommy.
Starting point is 00:17:17 What's up, Eddie? Going great, gentlemen. I'm doing well. What are you up to? Well, I'm up in Wisconsin. I had to take a special trip to check in on some quality control for the Strength Co. I guess, are you working hard or hardly working, Eddie? First things first.
Starting point is 00:17:41 I'd say I'm working hard on hardly working. We'll allow that one. We do have some exciting news for you, Eddie. Yeah, yeah. You're not the mole. Goodbye. Hey, hey, hey, hold on a second, hold on a second. Yep.
Starting point is 00:17:55 I got a question for Tommy. I got a question for Tommy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right. So last week you announced that you're doing the Juggernaut AI. Oh, yeah, yep. Doing the power lifting program. Yep. announced that you're doing the juggernaut ai oh yeah you're in the powerlifting program yep so how soon can we expect to hear announcement about you competing on the platform uh that's a
Starting point is 00:18:12 good that is a great question um i will things are going really well they are going i mean i'm like everyone you know two weeks into a program you know things are really on the up and up but i am liking it i probably i would just think about this today i would love to keep this momentum going the very soonest would be like late late fall um but more than likely if things are going good it would probably be like next spring so like march ish is what i'm thinking right now. Well, in conjunction with the congratulations on you and your wife expecting another little one. Well, thank you.
Starting point is 00:18:50 Next spring makes a lot of sense. We're excited for you, though. Awesome. Thanks for what you do with the welding equipment and all the rest. Yep. Thanks, guys. See you, Big Eddie. Yep, you're not the mole. Bye.
Starting point is 00:19:04 Bye. Okay, so we know, you're not the mole. Bye. All right. Bye. Okay. So we know we don't have the first mole. Yep. Just one second. Should we do it for real this time? Yes.
Starting point is 00:19:19 Enough psych-outs? Yes. Are we actually going to get them? Yes. Okay. Here we go. Or is the mole so hidden we don't have their phone? No. Here we go. This is for real Yes. Okay, here we go. Or is the mole so hidden we don't know their phone number? Here we go. This is for real now.
Starting point is 00:19:28 This is for real? All right, is everyone ready for the real mole? That was fun, but here we go for real. The Eddie diversion is done. Oh, boy. Have I been waiting for this? Big Austin, is that you? Oh you oh yeah you know who it is everybody knows who this is the man behind the green shorts you're damn right and this time
Starting point is 00:19:55 with better cell service back and better than ever uh we've got we've got some really exciting news for you austin okay You're not the mole. I kind of figured, you know, considering I was the reason why y'all are doing this whole misdirection. I mean, I'm only here to plug green shorts. That's it. So I figured mole was a little far-fetched for my realm. You did plant the seed that we call call.
Starting point is 00:20:27 Throw some people yeah so i just thought it would cause more anxiety between all of the discord members to be honest with you guys yes uh so so thank you good job uh most importantly remember you're not the mole so stay oh yeah stay tuned for the real mole all right all. All right. See ya. All right. See ya. That's two strikes. Okay. Does anyone know who this mole is? Ah. Well.
Starting point is 00:20:59 Big Ray just asked if we, any chance we could start now. Yes. Yes. I can, I can see the text there. Yes. He just said, and this is not a joke, Ray goes,
Starting point is 00:21:12 any chance we could start now? Well, I think we have to do it. I kind of think we have to too. Yeah, we have to do it. That's kind of unfortunate. They're saying,
Starting point is 00:21:22 show your phone. You'll be able to zoom in on this to make sure there's a, yep. It says, any chance we could You'll be able to zoom in on this. Make sure there's a... Yep. It says, there's any chance we could start now. So we have to do that.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Hate to keep the big man waiting. So, all right. And in old theory, we do have to kick the Discord off. Yeah, we do have to kick the Discord. So sorry, Discord. We will pick this up after the break. Yep.
Starting point is 00:21:43 All right. Bye. Bye-bye, Discord. Okay. So that actually was not planned. That part is not planned. We didn't really plan on telling the Discord, but we did what?
Starting point is 00:21:55 This works, too. Yeah. So the real mole, if you're listening, it's going to be about 30 more minutes. Yeah. So, yeah, do stay tuned because we'll have the details of the contest and everything there, too. But we need to get big Randall. Yeah. Yeah. you're listening it's going to be about 30 more minutes yeah um so yeah do stay tuned because we'll have the details of the contest and everything there too but uh we need to get
Starting point is 00:22:08 big ran yeah yeah yeah i'm waiting i just have to text the mole quick i suppose don't keep him waiting yeah um let's see the schedule is fluid that's it's much like the rules for overrated, underrated, right? Yep, it's a living, breathing thing. It's an organism. Did I save it under mole? And it has its druthers. Ah, damn it. Why didn't it save that?
Starting point is 00:22:38 Here, I'll... Tanner and his mobile office over here. Just confirming with the mole here quick to confirm that they will be conscious okay we're good to go on that we are good so we're gonna call ray right now okay he said he's ready so let's do it hopefully i'm sorry but the person you call uh we're just striking out on the schedule tonight. Yeah. Well, I know that's his number. We were just texting, right?
Starting point is 00:23:32 Maybe he thinks you're a telemarketer. He probably thinks you want to check out his car warranty. Pretending to be Tanner Baird. Yeah. He's like, I keep getting spammed from Tanner Baird all the time. Yep. Do we want to read an ad quick at all? We could do that.
Starting point is 00:23:48 That's fine. I'm guessing by the time that's over, we'll have Ray. Okay. This episode of the Massanomics Podcast is brought to you by Texas Power Bars. Buddy Capps first started lifting weights in the late 60s and began powerlifting in the mid-70s. At the time, he was working for Image Barbell, building gym equipment. Around 1976, a local machine shop started making Olympic bars for them, calling it the Image Bar. In 1977, Image Barbell became Champion Barbell.
Starting point is 00:24:17 It was then that Buddy started looking at the bars with an intent of changing them for the better. In 1979, Buddy bought his first lathe to begin addressing the known issues. In 1980, his passion, drive, and purpose now had a greater mission. Buddy set out on his own to make what he believed was the greatest bar he'd ever seen and trained with, and the Texas Power Bar was born. It was strong as a house with the best knurling
Starting point is 00:24:38 and was maintenance-free. Hundreds of state, national, international, world, and massonomics powerlifting records have been and continue to be set and broken on the texas power bar to learn more about texas power bars and buy one of their legendary bars visit texaspowerbars.com big ray is that you is that hey you're live on the massonomics podcast with t Tanner and Tommy. What's up, Ray? Hi, what's going on? We're excited to get you on, man. Oh, man, I appreciate being on.
Starting point is 00:25:12 Excellent. I think last time we talked to you was probably at the Arnold several years. I don't know what year. Probably like three or four years ago. Yeah, probably like 2018, maybe something like that. Yeah, that's back when the SPD booth was along that back wall back there. Yeah, that's right. Were you there this year at the SPD booth again?
Starting point is 00:25:32 I actually was, yes, sir. Okay. We were pretty tied down to our booth, so we didn't get a chance to see a bunch of people like that. You're a guy that's been at the Arnold many years over the last 5, 10 years. What did the crowd seem like to you there this year? This probably was the lightest Saturday I've – well, this past year was the lightest Saturday I've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:25:58 Saturday is normally the day where you can't breathe. There's no room for air inside the actual, where all the vendors and there there's, it was, it was okay. First year back, you know, people are still, you know, battling fears of catching COVID and all that, but it wasn't what I was used to. Right. I mean, it, it, it was used to. Right. It was relative to other things. There's a lot of people there, but it wasn't. I mean, I think it's exactly what you said. It wasn't the madhouse we used to.
Starting point is 00:26:32 Right. I will say this. The Uber drivers were thrilled that the Arnold was back. I bet. Like every one of those restaurants around there and all those businesses, that's good news for them. Yeah, I think I saw I was watching the news when I got into town. I think they had expected like a $15 million surge for the weekend of the Arnold,
Starting point is 00:26:57 like as far as restaurants and local businesses in the Columbus area. So I'm pretty sure Columbus was arms wide open. Let's go bring it back. Absolutely. And you weren't competing this year at the Arnold, but you did compete earlier this year. I think it was, is it the Virginia pro? Is that the meet that you did? Yes, it was, uh, December 4th, uh, last year I did the Virginia pro. And that was your first back for, for back from a little while, wasn't it? Yes, with COVID. Because actually, if you go back to, I think, 2019,
Starting point is 00:27:33 I actually won Nationals 2019. Worlds got canceled that year. 2020, I caught COVID before Nationals. So it was just like one thing after another and I finally get back on the platform December 4th I was supposed to compete um April 3rd April 3rd uh this month but strain my damn hip flexor deadlifting. So that kind of put me out of competing. And now I'm just rehabbing and probably going to do a meet later this year. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:16 I mean, at that December meet, you know, you were back, you squatted 1,000 again, and it just seemed like uh things were rolling pretty well i mean now you've got this hip flexor issue to deal with now but outside of that like from what outside looking in it seems like things were uh things have been on the right track kind of oh yeah like everything was moving great uh this training cycle um was looking to get up there again but uh you know working with some people doing some corrective work. I have some tightness in the hip, some external rotation issues that are, that pretty much caused this injury, which I'm working on now, working on fixing, which ain't a big deal. Like I didn't tear anything. Nothing's going to require surgery, nothing major or massive. I just got to do my due diligence, uh, take the necessary time and steps that I need to do to get back healthy and get back out there and start doing what I do.
Starting point is 00:29:20 Right on. Uh, it's, there was the split, you know, where the usapl and the ipf uh whatever broke up and now there's powerlifting america and so since you did the the virginia pro that's a usapl one is that the path you're gonna take or what where did i was actually gonna do powerlifting american nationals okay so you can you do i don't even we don't really know can you do, I don't even, we don't really know. Can you do both if you want to? Like, can you do some USA PL meets and do some power lifting, uh, America meets or how does that go? If I'm, if, if we're talking about the IPF, whatever the IPF affiliate is, I'm pretty sure if you plan on competing at IPF worlds or have ambitions on competing at IPF Worlds,
Starting point is 00:30:06 I'm pretty sure you can only compete within the affiliate, the American affiliate to the IPO, and that's Powerlifting America. Okay. Okay. So, did doing that Virginia meet then have any effect? Or was it okay? So, it was December. Does that matter?
Starting point is 00:30:21 Yes, because I did that in December. And the power lift, yeah. So I think I was okay. Right, right. Okay. So you're going the IPF route then. You want to go, you know, getting back to IPF Worlds would be the goal then? Yes, sir. Right on. Okay. Is that, you know,
Starting point is 00:30:40 people in your, you know, your best competition in your class, you know, are they going that same, have they gone that same route kind of i mean is is that uh in the heavyweight class is that where the best competition's at um i think so uh yes sir uh i think most of the lifters who traditionally were on that ipf platform all defected to Powerlifting America. Right on. How many world championships do you have?
Starting point is 00:31:13 Oh, man. I suck with numbers. I think five. At this point, for you, is the motivation like, I want six, or is it just, no, I just need to keep doing my best. Keep going. The thing is, I just want to keep competing against myself because honestly, truthfully, you know, being that, you know, in the U.S., the U.S. is littered with great lifters.
Starting point is 00:31:41 We all know that. And, you know, doing the somebody else's social media thing, that's not my style. I really don't care for that. I try to just compete against myself to beat the better version of myself. That's the goal. And yeah, just continue to pursue another IPF championship. I hope that answers your question.
Starting point is 00:32:10 Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. I think anyone that follows you has seen it before. You know, you've got your SBD lever belt that you wear, and you mark off another K for every 1,000-pound squat you do. Yes, sir. Is that right? I mean, are you on your second one of those? Didn't you have one stolen at one point in time,
Starting point is 00:32:32 or what was the story behind that? We were doing a meet in Oakland, California. Me and another lifter, I was riding in their rental car and us being very nice, naive people. We left bags in, in a rental car, untenant windows, left them on the back seat. Uh, somebody just bust the window, stole all our bags, uh, and my belt, which really, really hurt my feelings. Yeah. Yeah. So you never, did you ever get any leads on that?
Starting point is 00:33:14 Nobody ever fessed up to anything, of course. Being that California is like the nation's leader in homeless people, absolutely not. Right. Right. leader and homeless people absolutely not right right and uh i actually i actually went out and and i probably shouldn't have because i actually felt bad afterwards you know i was mad about it so you know i went walking the next day and in my mind i'm like i'm gonna find the SOB that stole my belt. So I'm walking through, like, these homeless camps and just seeing how some of those, seeing what some of those, this is what these people call life. This is what they're doing day to day. They're sleeping on the ground.
Starting point is 00:33:57 They're living in tents. And it hit me like, dude, you're out here looking for a damn belt. And, you know, you're watching people put their kids in cars and pulling babies out of tents and i'm like bro get the hell out of here like this this is wrong like let the belt go you'll get another belt yeah that's some perspective i guess it is it's uh yeah it still sucks but i guess, maybe that is the silver lining. Yeah, because at the time, my reality was find my belt. Their reality was I'm homeless. So I'm like, yeah, I can get another belt.
Starting point is 00:34:33 This sucks. So I kind of got out of there. So you did get another belt, though, obviously. Yes, sir. Did you know how many Ks you had on the old belt when it got taken? When it got taken, I was at 51. Did you just...
Starting point is 00:34:51 You got your new belt and you got your 51 in there, I assume, then. Right now, I'm at 55. Okay. You've done four more since then. Yes, sir. Okay. That's pretty wild. How much room is left in there?
Starting point is 00:35:07 It's got to be getting pretty full of Ks. You're probably writing them smaller now than at the start. Yeah, that's the thing. I'm writing them smaller now. Yeah. Got to make room for 100. See, that's the goal, man. Get as many as I can before this body tells me look dude i'm sick
Starting point is 00:35:27 of this shit and how are you 35 somewhere in that range okay but no see you said 35 i'm in mississippi we say 35 35 yeah so and we're from uh we always say it's western northeast south dakota is where we're from but uh we probably saw you know we always get it from everyone else that we have a kind of a funny northern accent up here basically canadian yeah no you guys enunciate and pronounce words very well you guys are sound like very distinguished gentlemen because we both have extensive histories as newscasters oh there you go if we sound like distinguished gentlemen then we're doing a good job tricking you yeah it's an elaborate act yeah well i'm sorry i'm gonna say words like mine and ain't um but to be fair didn't you just uh did you just graduate with your PhD and recently here too?
Starting point is 00:36:27 Okay. So, all right. So recently I've learned that there are levels to this doctorate degree thing. So I have an EDD. Okay. Which is a doctorate in education. at doctorate in education. And I was recently schooled up that, you know,
Starting point is 00:36:52 the EDD isn't as distinguished as the PhD. Well, sir, you can take that on somewhere. When you're not actually smart and you just work hard, like you have no i like i can't articulate in words how hard this journey was to earn a doctorate degree when you're not like one of those super smart i'm super good at writing papers now don't get me wrong I can put 20 pages worth of words and thoughts I can put my ideas on page better than anybody out there
Starting point is 00:37:32 but when it comes to grammar APA that's where Ray needs a lot of help a lot of help but so the important part is you finished it though I mean you're done with it now oh yeah May 7th I get to go to FedEx Forum. I get to put on that 5X gown.
Starting point is 00:37:52 Yeah. That however big my head is, beret. And they're going to christen me Dr. Ray Williams. Yes, yes, yes. Yeah, that's awesome. Yes, sir. So do you, that's awesome. Yes, sir. So do you, I mean, are you still a football coach then too? Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:38:10 So where do you coach at? I coach at the Ittawamba Community College. We're located in northeast Mississippi right on Interstate 22 between Memphis and Birmingham. Okay. Because aren't you originally an Alabama guy then too? So you're real close to Alabama then still. Roadside, yep. Okay. And cause you, aren't you originally an Alabama guy then too? So you're real close to Alabama then still roadside. Yep. Okay. All right. So did you, and you've been there for quite a few years then? Like, have you had quite a few players that you've coached and stuff
Starting point is 00:38:36 that have been able to get on and, you know, I moved on to, uh, you know, gotten opportunities to go on bigger programs and that sort of thing too. Oh yeah, man. That's the fun part of the job. You get to see young men come in that have no idea how good they are. You see it in them. They don't see it in themselves. You just get to work and groom. Now the sucky part is you only get them for two years. So you pretty much have to get them to the point where other coaches can see what you see and hope that those other coaches give them a chance to take that step forward at that power five or D1 level. The problem nowadays is this thing that's called the transfer port.
Starting point is 00:39:20 Right. That's what I wondered is how that's different for you, like where you're at then. It's killing it's really it's it's hurting junior college football and high school kids because colleges are now they recruit the five stars the kids with stars they get recruited first then the transfer portal then juco then high school So you got to think there's tiers. If you're a high school kid, there are tiers now, and you're at that bottom tier because being that college coaches now, they're given two to three years to turn a program around.
Starting point is 00:39:56 If you're in a conference like the ACC, the SEC, one of these competitive conferences, and you've got two or three years to flip a program, you're going to go get more experienced kids, kids that have at least experienced that college lifestyle. There's less of an acclimation period for those kids than kids straight out of high school. So last year, there were a lot of high school kids
Starting point is 00:40:21 that were NCAA qualifiers that didn't have homes that ended up walking on and paying for school because of the portal right yeah and even where we're at so we have like we're in a town with a division two a real solid division two basketball program yes sir or contenders for the national championship a couple years in a row and now with the way that the portals changed you know we had some studs that basically the starting five all you know we had a great year starting five all left like every single one of them entered the transfer portal and then you know so it's like this the recruiting game is just so much different now i don't you know it's like you've got to be recruiting transfers in every single year.
Starting point is 00:41:09 And, like, you've got to constantly be recruiting the players that are already on your team, too, like so that they don't go away. Yep. And, you know, that's a sucky part. Because right now, and I'm a junior college coach, we're looking at the portal. We're checking it every day for updates. There are seventeen hundred wide receivers in the transfer portal right now. That's all you got to keep track of. I mean, I'm our coach, the line. So, you know, yeah, yeah, yeah. The good thing about our guys is, you know, you look.
Starting point is 00:41:47 The good thing about our guys is, you know, you look, you know, you look for the guys that are big. You look at the big guys, the six, six, six, five. You look at those guys first. You try to recruit those guys. But, you know, now with this in our last stuff, you know, the name and likeness, name, image, likeness, you know, money that kids are getting now. Some of these kids, they they're not even kids years ago they would have jumped on junior college they're not even they're not even giving us a chance because they're trying to get somewhere man i'm gonna give me some you know a lot of money no you're not right you're not like there's probably a still pretty small fraction of people that are
Starting point is 00:42:23 yeah i was gonna say have you witnessed really? I mean, has there been really very many notable cases of like people outside of like the very biggest names, like making a run at that at all yet? Oh, it's still too young. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:41 Right. As of right now, but you can, as somebody that's been coaching ball and you, you, as of right now, but you can, as somebody that's been coaching ball and you love the sport, you see where it's going. Like, you see where it's going. Like, kids now, you know,
Starting point is 00:42:56 eventually that's all it's going to be about. You know, like, man, it ain't about me getting no degree. How much money? If I come to your school, what the money go what that bag looking like and i think i read an article the other day where they're about to take the nli game to a a tier level like a four-star guy i'll get x amount of money over
Starting point is 00:43:20 four years uh x star wide receiver get x amount of money and you're talking about millions of dollars like that that's that's i mean for some of these kids like some kids can handle it but i just think that is just what i'm just interested to see where college athletics is going to go in the next couple of years when you're paying a college kid like the kid, I think the quarterback from California that's committed to Tennessee. I think he's supposed to make $8 million before. He signed an $8 million NLI deal. He's still in high school.
Starting point is 00:44:03 Yeah. Like, okay, I'm the quarterback's coach a high school. Like, okay, I'm the quarterback's coach. I make... Right, a fraction of it. Yeah. I make $400,000 a year. This kid is worth four mil before he sets foot on campus. He pulls up
Starting point is 00:44:17 in a Lambo and... Yeah. What am I going to tell this kid? All right. Yeah. I never thought about that going to tell this kid? Yeah. That's tough. I never thought about that part of that. It will be interesting to see how that plays out over the next few years. I mean, I'm not saying, and please, I'm not saying that that's going to be a widespread issue.
Starting point is 00:44:38 Right. But you know how the world works. You're going to see a case of that is going to pop up. Yeah. Yeah, for sure how how involved do you get i mean obviously being one of the strongest power lifters to ever lift and you're coaching d-line on a football team do you get involved at all in the strength training program for d-line i'm the strength coach for the okay you are okay i was gonna say it'd be weird if
Starting point is 00:45:02 you weren't but i didn't know for sure if you were or not. Yes, sir. Do you get any guys that come in and maybe don't know you? Maybe some relatively strong players and they don't yet know that you squat 1,000 pounds and don't know your resume? Most kids, because powerlifting is big in Mississippi. So most kids, most football players, they know who I am before I get here. And then with TikTok and all that, it's almost impossible not to. And I'm not saying I'm a celebrity. I'm just saying in the powerlifting realm,
Starting point is 00:45:44 I know a lot of I'm just saying like in, in the power lifting realm, I know a lot of us will, we'll watch like motivational videos and that's sort of kind of how, you know, a lot of kids know me. Right. No, I mean, in, in the power lifting world, you are, you know, I mean, you're as famous as anyone gets when it comes to power lifting. So if, if they're into it and they're watching stuff there, you know, it's going to be impossible not to see you. If they're into it and they're watching stuff, it's going to be impossible not to see you. But have you come across any real strong guys on the team then?
Starting point is 00:46:12 Oh, yeah. I had a kid who played nose tackle at Kentucky. He came through about five, six years ago, and he squatted 700 pounds. Uh, we had a linebacker a couple of years ago, Mississippi kid. Uh, he was,
Starting point is 00:46:32 uh, like he could have possibly repped like six 45 for a good four or five reps. But we, we were just one rep, one rep, man. Like, cause if you fail and like, we have the smaller rack, we have the enclosed rep, one rep, man. Because if you fail and we have the smaller rack,
Starting point is 00:46:47 we have the enclosed racks, like, bro, ain't nobody catching that. Right. Yeah. Nobody wants to. Yeah. There you go. Nobody wants to catch that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:58 So let's just hit it one time and we'll make it look good. We'll put it on Facebook and twitter and yay yep um well something we like to talk about with a lot of people that we have on here is um we'll call it nutrition it's not nutrition in the way that most people conventionally think about it but we like to talk about some of our favorite uh restaurants and fast food joints and some of our favorite menu items and that sort of thing and you, you've got a few different places down in Mississippi and Alabama than we've got up here. Um, say if you, if you're going out to eat, well, do you have a favorite place that you would go or a favorite menu item that you would order? Yes. All right. We, uh,
Starting point is 00:47:42 we're going to hit up Cracker Barreler barrel okay okay cracker barrel has the best pancakes in america okay really all right they're better than i hop better than danny's any waffle cracker barrel pancakes waffle house can't touch okay but cracker barrel like i'm a breakfast guy i love breakfast um i could eat breakfast every day for a month straight and not once be upset so the pancakes from cracker barrel what else do you get what else is good from there i don't do we even have one in south dakota i think i think sioux falls okay so we've got one yeah yeah uh chicken and dumplings man like for me any place that has good breakfast like i know uh that's what i'm looking for you know my wife she's uh from el paso so she's more of the the the real the real mexican food like yeah
Starting point is 00:48:42 and me i'm i don't i don't i'm not gonna say i don't care too much for mexican food i love tacos out man i can eat 12 tacos like without like breaking a sweat but i'm just not a fan i'm more of a a break i'm not a savory person. I like breakfast. Breakfast is awesome. You give me some biscuits, some gravy, some bacon and cheddar omelet, a fat bowl of grits. Man, I'm good. That's sleep. That's comatose.
Starting point is 00:49:18 You sleep. Yeah, I'm with you there. I could eat breakfast for almost every meal if I had to, and I wouldn't be that i wouldn't be too upset about it and then the next thing is cereal like the like cereal is everything in my house like everything what kind yeah so what kinds are we talking here okay all right so i used to say captain crunch but man even captain crunch like eating down cuts through it like it makes you raw but golden crisp and and fruity pebble the fruity pebbles
Starting point is 00:49:57 with marshmallows in go ham what's golden crisp what is that like is that kind of like golden golden crisp yeah they got golden crisp or the cereal to come in the bag and i understand oh yeah yeah but they got like the bear on it right yeah i don't buy enough cereal so i can't uh i know it's time is it malto meal or something like that yeah yeah yeah it is. Okay. That's good. So what about if you're going out, but you got to go through a drive-thru, so that takes Cracker Barrel and some of those places out of the equation. What drive-thru would you be hitting up?
Starting point is 00:50:36 All right, let's see. All right, if I'm going through a drive-thru, believe it or not, if it's in the morning and I got to hit a drive-thru, I'm going to Crystal's. What's Crystal's? Okay, in the north, you guys call it White Castle. Oh, okay. Down here, we call it Crystal's. You go to Crystal's, you get you a breakfast scrambler. There's grits, eggs, sausage, and cheese in a little bowl.
Starting point is 00:51:02 Man, it go hard. If it's for lunch, I'm going to chick-fil-a and i'm getting a number five no tomatoes you can have the fries give me a large mac and cheese and give me a diet lemonade mixed with blue powerade it's awesome chick-fil-a because everyone like is making a premium chicken sandwich now like you know even like mcdonald's every place has their chicken sandwiches uh but you you think chick-fil-a is the best out of those then i mean don't get me wrong now no i i wasn't i didn't think the popeye sandwich was worth all that fighting and stuff that was
Starting point is 00:51:43 going on i think that was like it was people fighting over chicken sandwiches. Like, is this what we're doing in America now? Like, like Canada's looking at us and we're fighting over chicken sandwiches. Like really? So yeah, like now Popeye's chicken sandwich is awesome. But for some reason, every time i eat it it messes up my stomach i don't know what it is yeah good on the way in not as good on the way out so i just stick with the good chick-fil-a no chick-fil-a be like we were we used good cage
Starting point is 00:52:19 free chickens and they don't they ain't got no steroid all right let's do it yeah we tried to get a pot on the way to the arnold actually because we don't have popeyes here either and we tried to stop and get one in i don't know what state we were in whatever but illinois something like that and but they didn't have anyone working there get one yeah so we didn't still didn't get to try one yeah that that is true there's one chick-fil-a it's in tupelo mississippi it's about 20 miles from here when i tell you it's on a hill and if you get there anytime after about 1 30 that place is packed like the club like there there'll be cars in the turning lane like 20 deep to get in and get a three piece and a biscuit like i don't give a damn if you lace that chicken with gold.
Starting point is 00:53:06 I'm not going to send you that line up for no chicken. I got stuff to do. Can't be this line all day. Like, KFC going to have to do tonight. Absolutely. Something else, this, you already kind of mentioned it. You know, you're not, back to your lifting, you're not sitting there necessarily watching other people on social media
Starting point is 00:53:28 and worrying about that. You're motivated, more motivated by your own numbers and, you know, basically putting yourself to the limits and testing yourself and see what you can make it to. Yes, sir. We're wondering about this. We don't really know him that well, but he's obviously a real strong and younger guy.
Starting point is 00:53:45 Jesus Aliveiras, if I'm saying his last name right yeah and he's i don't know is he like 23 or something like that but he's yeah he's in his early 20s yeah and he's been putting up some big numbers like does is that additional motivation for you you know like competing against him or uh yeah like that that's always that's always been the thing like uh you you always want to compete like it's not necessarily the fact that he's strong it's just right now he's the he's the reigning world champion he's the reigning national champion he's the reigning world champion. He's the reigning national champion. He's the best right now. And that's because he's doing his thing. And my whole thing is you want to compete
Starting point is 00:54:31 against those that are considered the best. That pushes you to be your best. But ultimately, ultimately, what it truly boils down to is it just adds excitement. It gives you something to look forward to. But at the end of the day, you are your own biggest competition. And I look forward to the day when I get to take the platform and we get to go head to head.
Starting point is 00:55:00 Because, you know, obviously, you know, that's pretty much what made everything fun you know being able to compete against Blaine and Jezza and Kelly and everybody from all over the world you know that's that's what that's what you know gives you the that's what keeps you like in the hunt you know like being the fact that not only am I ultimately competing against myself, but I get to take my best and put it against someone else's best and we get to see who comes out on top. Yep, for sure. That makes sense. Uh, Ray, we've got this game overrated, underrated. We play with every guest and we've got a special set of topics for you and pretty simple. We'll just fire a topic at you and it's
Starting point is 00:55:48 your job to decide if it's overrated or underrated and you can elaborate on it as much or as little as you want to, but you can't ride the line. You have to come up with either overrated or underrated at the end. Alright, I'll try. Alright, excellent. Okay.
Starting point is 00:56:04 Topic one, overrated or underrated Alabama football. Underrated. Underrated because number one, everybody always expects Alabama to fail. Like, I don't know why so many people root against Alabama. Like, it's crazy. I think Alabama is definitely underrated because, of course, like nationally, they're going to always be top five. Let's just call it what it is. Facilities, just tradition. Winning is what they do, but it's like when you look at them this year,
Starting point is 00:56:55 you lost Jamison Williams, you're losing John Mechie, you lost Brian Robinson Jr., your running back. I think they're going to be underrated because a lot of the players they got coming in, other than the quarterback, the running back that they give, they just got from Georgia Tech. Those two players are proven. As far as the rest of that offense, nobody really is proven. You got the transfer from Georgia, the Burton kid. But if you didn't know he transferred in, did you hear his name mentioned much for the University of Georgia last year?
Starting point is 00:57:37 No, not really. That's why he transferred. But, yeah, I think they're underrated right now. Right on. Okay, next one. You lift a lot of big weights. That's no secret. And a lot of times you're by yourself.
Starting point is 00:57:52 It seems like you rarely have a spot. You'd be squatting 1,000 pounds and there's no spotter around. Or anyone. Yeah, right, right. So overrated or underrated spotters? Definitely underrated. Honestly, truthfully, I wish I did have people to, you know, train with, you know, training partners. They help you on those days when you come in the gym and you're like, man, F this is.
Starting point is 00:58:24 Like, why do I do this to myself? Like, those are the days where you got that dude or that girl that whoever trains with you, they look at you, man, you don't shut up, but come on, put your work in. You know, like, you need that some days. Like, no matter how great elite you are, some days you need that swift kick in the rear, somebody to, like, help get you jump-started. But when you work out by yourself you need that swift kick in the rear, somebody to like help get you
Starting point is 00:58:45 jump started, but when you work out by yourself, you got to look in the mirror, and you got to just, you know, you pretty much talk to yourself, like, bruh, you already know what you got to do, you know where you're trying to go, you know what it takes to get there, so how about this, let's do what we got to do, let's not waste no time, and let's get the hell up out of this gym do let's not waste no time and let's get the hell up out this gym let's not you know have a mailbox at the gym let's do what we got to do and get up out of here and you know for me that that works because it's just like if you look at the top of my mind oh it says squatted die hell yep if you got nine some on there and you ain't got no spotters what choice do you have like you squat this weight or you're gonna probably mess up a good rogue power bar which i've done several times like i've
Starting point is 00:59:33 got slight bends and like two or three bars like it's awful and these bars run like three four hundred dollars a piece yeah so i'm gonna say underrated because you know you never know like one day you may be dead lifting and pop your damn hip flexor and there you go you know so things like that happen so underrated and where is your mono like where do you have that at where do you train at it's at a place called where I squat on Sundays. It's at a place called Power Zone Gym. It's in Peppertown, Mississippi. It's a little community about eight miles west of here.
Starting point is 01:00:14 Okay, so you do your squat days there and then like bench and deadlift somewhere else then? I bench. I have a row set at the school fitness center in a storage closet. So I got weights. I got calibrated weights here, calibrated weights at the other gym as well. Okay. All right, right on. Overrated or underrated?
Starting point is 01:00:38 Last chance you. Definitely overrated. I think last chance you put a terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible stain on Mississippi junior college football. Because if you watch that, number one, it was one school and a lot of those kids did not like the head coach. Like you, you had one episode where it was two d linemen sitting side by side man after head coach man i can't stand that mf like
Starting point is 01:01:12 yeah like that that's that's that's that's not all of us all of our kids don't think like that about us you know so i think it put a terrible stain on Mississippi Junior College football. And then there were some hints of like racism that were that was put on Mississippi because I've actually recruited some kids. And I've had parents get on the phone because that's one of my deals. I talk to the kid, talk to the parents, you know, because parents want to know the stuff that the kids aren't interested in you know parents want to know financial aid dorms right uh they're just school have a great academic support system which ours does our school has uh been ranked uh number one in the state for the past four years as far as you know like getting kids graduated especially
Starting point is 01:02:03 athletes but that's neither here or there but i've been on the phone with parents and parents you know they don't want to just be bold and blatant with it but they'll they'll come out and ask like uh i don't mean any disrespect and i just want to know is this still mississippi You know, like Mississippi. Like, you know, my response is always the same, man. I'm a 35-year-old black man who has a wife and kids, and I've been here for 12 years. Like, do you think I would still be here if it was Mississippi? Like, no. Like, you'll find evil people everywhere. Like like you can go to the ends of the earth. They're gonna be evil people that judge people by characteristics and traits that those people can't control like that's the negative stuff about junior college sports in Mississippi.
Starting point is 01:03:09 Instead of highlighting the good, like, hey, kids come here, bounce backs. They get to basically come in. Rebuilding their reputation, rehabilitating their academics, rehabilitating, you know, like behavioral problems or issues that they may have outside of football. Like, I think that's what should have been highlighted, but that's not what the world want to see. You know, everybody wants guns, sex, and violence. So there you go.
Starting point is 01:03:41 Yeah, they're just putting out there. Yeah, there's no shortage of drama in there, that's for sure. Right, right. Yeah. Were you, like, are you... How far are you from that school? Like, are you guys close to them at all, or is that a different part of the state?
Starting point is 01:03:56 They're in our division. We're about... Fullerton is about two hours from Scuba Missionship. Okay. All right. Well, maybe they should have done it on your program instead oh yeah man we would have did it up man what no don't don't don't don't put don't put coach uh don't don't put coach williams on a national platform man y'all gonna see the country is y'all know the world ain't ready for that
Starting point is 01:04:25 okay uh so last overrated underrated topic coming up and we always save the best the most important for last so it all comes down to this um overrated or underrated money time definitely underrated yep that's right um because like depending on who you are money time can be whatever you want for me it's a mindset it's a mindset like if you're the dude who looks at your training program like if you if you have a coach and you look at your training program, you look at it on Thursday, what you got to do on Sunday. And you actually think about it until you do it. Like you're preparing your mind on Thursday for what you got to do Sunday. So what does that mean for you?
Starting point is 01:05:23 That means every meal you take, you're thinking about, I got to eat enough so I have those to do Sunday. So what does that mean for you? That means every meal you take, you're thinking about, I got to eat enough. So I have, have those calories for Sunday. When you're getting off the toilet, you're, you're thinking, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. Let me keep my feet flat on the floor and drive through the middle of my foot when I get up, you know, cause this is how I'm going to do it on Sunday. It's a mindset. It's a lifestyle. Um, and it's just like a lot of people ask, why do you exert so much energy prior to squatting? Because in my mind, I've done this a thousand times. Like there's, there's a lot of energy built up store for that. I've been just
Starting point is 01:05:58 saving for this moment and it just spills out and it shows up. It comes out on the platform. and it just spills out and it shows up it comes out on the platform it comes out in money time yeah i'm right time like you told us best one year you said uh it's always money time oh yeah like every day is a monday every day is a work day yeah amen uh no that's good stuff ray we appreciate getting you on is there anything uh you know i know you got sponsors and sb you know it's big companies that maybe don't need that much shouting out but if there's anything else that you want to talk about or anything like that we're all ears oh no doubt man you already know my spd is you know those that's my those are my dudes and they're not just a sponsor you know it's it's it's it's honestly, truthfully, what people don't see.
Starting point is 01:06:48 Like it's a family like, you know, like like Peter Spence. Those guys actually check on us and make sure we're good. They make sure we have everything we need. Like it's more of a family because I've been with SBD since since they came out. of a family because I've been with SBD since since they came out you know like and you know it's it's an honor to you know represent you know those companies um then uh you know you got you know the the two companies that I'm co-owner in um you know me and David Garcia we got uh P3 perform uh Prime Predator uh performance which uh you know pretty soon we're gonna start actually accepting people to train and coach we kind of had everything on hold because i was in school and i don't want to overload david um but here soon're going to actually start coaching people and, you know, helping people.
Starting point is 01:07:47 The thing about powerlifting that is so, so, that makes powerlifting, people get in it and get out, is when somebody either can't afford a coach or they don't have good coaching in the beginning and they end up getting hurt or plateauing for super long periods of time. They just like, I don't want to do this. This ain't fun no more. Because I was recently talking to a guy and he was telling me, man, coaching costs too much. Like, damn, it shouldn't be like that. Like, I know me personally. I want to make this affordable for people.
Starting point is 01:08:23 Like, because people got families like i don't know if you look at the price of gas and groceries right now but i ain't finished spent 300 a month for nobody to coach me i'm sorry yeah i don't give a damn if jesus was right so you know like we want to make it affordable for people. I know at least that's one of my goals. Like, let's make this affordable. Let's give people like good coaching, you know, good techniques. That way it's fun in the beginning. They see gains, they see progress because it's just like anything.

Starting point is 01:12:14 I didn't have to think today. I believe it was Ross made the comment. He's like, yeah, going back to a spreadsheet is going to be damn near impossible. And already I'm like, yeah, going back to a spreadsheet is going to be a little tough if that day ever comes. It's just like some of the simple things that are even just like referring to what you did in the past. It's so nice where it's there at the click of a button and be like, ah, there's a few things.
Starting point is 01:12:36 Here's this exact lift that I did. Here's exactly what I've done all the times I've done it. Yep, I 100% agree. Yeah, that spreadsheet just ain't looking so good anymore. The spreadsheets used to be kind of cool, and I don't know, man. Yeah, there's... It's kind of like the world's moved on.
Starting point is 01:12:52 It kind of is like that, isn't it? Yeah, Juggernaut AI. We support it. We support it. We're all about it. Yeah. So... Do we finally get to reveal this mole brings us back to our mole
Starting point is 01:13:07 uh conversation so i i guess i'll give him a him a uh give our mole a call so i'll get our mole on the line here quick okay okay so this is finally the mole for real here hopefully hopefully the mole hasn't crawled down into his hole for the night yeah For real here. Hopefully. Hopefully the mole hasn't crawled down into his hole for the night. It was underdeveloped eyes. Hello, this is James. Big James.
Starting point is 01:13:36 Is that you? It is me. Don't say I'm on the podcast. You are on the Mastodonics podcast. And we had something very important to tell you real quickly. We won't keep you up in case you were thinking about going to bed right now, but we had something really important we needed to tell you.
Starting point is 01:13:56 Uh-oh. What's that? You're not the mole. Oh, my God. You were probably pretty worried. Yeah, we figured out you could sleep because now you know you're not the mole so well here's my take on it and maybe i'm wrong you guys recognize me if i'm wrong but i don't think the mole even knows that they're the mole because well after we get off the phone with you we are we are calling the real mole so
Starting point is 01:14:27 we can't spoil it yet clear it up with a few people yeah there's a few people we knew thought maybe they were the mole and we just want to let them know first that they're not so is this being broadcasted discord right now this is not uh we uh we had to we we called a few other people we did the same same thing where it kind of sounded like we were calling the mole, and then it turns out we told them they weren't the mole. So they got to go through that a couple times until we just cut them off.
Starting point is 01:14:55 Okay, all right. Because the Discord crew, I'm losing credibility right now not being on Discord. They're like, whoa, hold on, what's going on? And I'm sure they're talking trash, but I'm a bat. It's a really active community out there. So if you sleep on it for a day or two, they're running with things and you'll get lost. I just made a meme that was basically we just tend to make up jokes and other people on the crew just go, oh, yeah, that's hilarious.
Starting point is 01:15:22 I've known that for years. That's one of the inside jokes. And really, it's just something you just made up on the crew just go, oh yeah, that's hilarious. I've known that for years. That's one of the inside jokes. And really it's just something you just made a shit. You made up on the fly. Nobody wants to be the one to say, I don't get that inside joke. And it's a very encouraging community.
Starting point is 01:15:35 It's very positive. That's how it rolls. Well, that's I can sleep well tonight knowing that I'm not the mole. Stay tuned Sunday or Monday to find out the real mole reveal. Alright. Alright, I will. Definitely. See you big James. Alright, y'all have a good night.
Starting point is 01:15:54 Okay, is this the real deal? Now do we call the real mole? I think we should. We've cried wolf over here. Yeah, we've cried wolf enough times, haven't we? So the real mole reveal and the real contest reveal all will be revealed now. Would you say this is going to do a number on the long distance, Bill?
Starting point is 01:16:11 Yes, it is going to. Hopefully they connect good all the way up there. Probably in his little mole hole. What's going on, boys? Oh, is this the mole? This is the mole. It's finally the mole. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:16:42 And it's not Ray Williams. No. You're about the, is it the fifth call fifth caller we had today and we finally got to the actual mole and as you know with you having been on the discord community yourself they did not get to find out live
Starting point is 01:16:58 your true identity oh it's utter chaos in there right now there's anarchy there's pitchforks there's friggin torches what were people saying once we cut it off and nobody got to find out I knew it
Starting point is 01:17:15 I knew it to be fair Ray did surprise us yeah that was a real thing well you can tell when you took the call yeah you could see for a sec there it was just like oh shit we gotta we gotta adjust we gotta pivot here so yeah yeah anyways it was good yeah there's there and there's uh everybody still on the the live podcast are now waiting because it's like hold on tommy said we're gonna
Starting point is 01:17:46 get back to this oh did i say that well technically we'll get back to it sometime it just might not be this week well they're not gonna get and this is it so monday morning everybody's getting everybody sitting there right now going we should tag them we. We should tag them. Let them know we're still here. Has anyone, like, since we hung up on that, has anyone thrown out an accusation as you being the mole? You know, now that they ruled out, maybe Eddie was out of it. We still haven't announced who the mole is.
Starting point is 01:18:15 I wonder how long we've been talking. I'm still friggin', you know, the only person that's actually called me out, identified me, was Big Jen. She's the only one that said it called me out, identified me, was Big Jen. She's the only one that said it so far, but it's not tonight. Yeah, yesterday, I think people were calling you out on your t-shirt collection. And I'm like, oh, they're almost getting warmer here.
Starting point is 01:18:35 But then you deflected that one pretty easy. So maybe it's time you should state your name. This is Big Scantz, boys. The Mole. I was actually going to say, scans, boys. The Mole. I was actually going to say, hey, this is Big Eddie. To be clear, you know, to clear up some maybe speculation, is it correct in saying since the inception of The Mole, you've always known you were The Mole?
Starting point is 01:19:04 There's never been a scenario where The Mole didn't know he was the mole you've always been aware oh yeah well except for once my moments of lucidity kind of fade away there a little bit in my old age there's like holy crap am i the mole yeah and and i guess for those that listen to the podcast but maybe aren't uh supporting members aren't in the discord or maybe haven't seen come across your page or watch your stuff um big scantz is like has become the resident uh uh what do you like everyone calls you old yeah like a lack of a better old man yeah you know you're not as old as everyone like it's become the fun joke to to talk about how old you are basically well technically i am a lot older than some of these like right right you're 21 right right so you're like the oh yeah you're the massonomics dad kind of sort of thing
Starting point is 01:19:55 i think i'm the i think i am the oldest okay and you do i'm a master's too yeah yeah and you also have the canada thing going for you too which it seems to be happening to more and more massonomics people all the time. Oh, there's, we got some, there's some Canadians out there. We got some savages,
Starting point is 01:20:12 a big Joey and, and a big Tyler the other way there with the big Jess. Yup. Our forklift is out there and Clint. There's been a, I think you guys have had three or four canadians on call before big kyle henry we got we got the president of ontario out there big yeah yeah um obsidian ammonia of course yep oh yeah we have a very strong canadian presence and
Starting point is 01:20:37 um so yeah we we include you is you know you knew about being the mole before anyone else even knew there was a mole we had our discussion and really the reason you're are the mole before anyone else even knew there was a mole. We had our discussion. And really, the reason you are the mole is because you hold the secret to our newest contest, our Mastinomics contest, where we have some very large prizes on the line, I would say. Very large. The reason you hold the key to that is because you truly inspired this contest and it's it's through you it's through the uh i think anyone that follows massonomics on instagram even if you're not in discord you've seen this you are the master of the reveal video and just where it clicked with me like oh yeah people do know these is at the arnold big Big Jess saw your cutout and she goes, is he the guy that always stands in the garage
Starting point is 01:21:26 and does like the videos? Yeah. She goes, isn't he Canadian too? Yeah. I'm like, oh yeah, okay. So this is like well known. When you say Big Jess, it's Jessica Bittner who we're talking about.
Starting point is 01:21:35 We had a cardboard cutout of you that Eddie had brought to at the Arnold booth. She recognized you as the guy from behind the garage door. That speaks volumes. So what you do, you do these videos where you're, you know, you're always like standing behind the garage door and the, you're the, the camera is outside of the garage and the garage door comes up and you're standing there, you know, maybe you're drinking a beer or you're got your shades on and you're like ready to go.
Starting point is 01:22:01 Depends what the training day is. Yeah. Yeah. And you know, you've done, well, I got to go with the shades. You've done some alternatives where the door comes up and you're late for the reveal and you have to run over to it.
Starting point is 01:22:15 Just try to keep it fresh. Or one time it was backwards. You know what I mean? It was a video of your back. Oh! That was for Nate's commercial. Okay, so you've done some funny takes. But what were the origins of that?
Starting point is 01:22:31 When was the first time you did that? Or when did you decide, I'm going to continue to do this? That was your weather forecast. Long time ago, you would pull a selfie out and you'd give a forecast. Yep. And the weather report. And one day I'm sitting around, you would pull the old, you'd pull a selfie out and you'd give a forecast and, uh,
Starting point is 01:22:45 as a weather report. And one day I'm like sitting around probably doing something, probably should have been doing something important or meaningful in my life. But I'm like, that's funny. I should do that too. Cause wouldn't you always forecast in the reveal?
Starting point is 01:23:01 Wouldn't you do that all the time? It used to be, it used to be the weather forecast forecast used to call for flurries of deadlifts tornadoes of ammonia yeah and then it adjusted a little bit because it was less of a forecast because it was it was going down right at the moment so right but uh yeah just just adjusting a little bit but yes that was the that was the impetus for it and now it's like ah just keep going and you basically do it like every friday right
Starting point is 01:23:31 i do it every friday at the end of friday is my last frame day of the week and it's generally going to lead into a big pile of whiskey and pizza or something that night so i might as well end on a high note so and i've had a couple of people like randomly out of blue like shooting emails they're like dude this shit makes me laugh just keep it up i'm like really okay that's cool man do you kind of feel like your weekend hasn't actually started until you do your reveal video oh that's it that's the kickoff right there the way if it doesn't happen the weekend hasn't started yeah Yeah, they're great. We love them. We've always loved them, of course.
Starting point is 01:24:08 And so that's now sparking the contest. So what the contest is going to be, or what the contest is, it's we want to see someone's best reveal video. Essentially, that's it. It's pretty open-ended. They could do it
Starting point is 01:24:23 from behind a garage door in true scant form. They could do it from behind a garage door in true Scant's form. They could do it in their garage gym in true Scant's form. It doesn't have to be limited to that. It could be anything that reveals anything. It has to feel like a reveal video, though. I came out of the ocean once.
Starting point is 01:24:40 Right. You've done some alternative things yourself. You could come out of an ocean. You could drop off the floor. When we were moving moving down we moved down here last summer from Ontario and we're in a hotel so I'm like how am I going to do this and I got behind curtains and got Mrs. Scantz to pull the curtains open yeah so yeah there's always there's always options and um I think we're probably going to get you involved in the selection process for the winning selection process I think we're probably going to get you involved in the selection process for the winning selection process.
Starting point is 01:25:07 I think you have to be involved in that. You're a man with a refined reveal palette. Nobody knows it better than you. So a lot of pressure on you. It also probably takes you out as a potential winner. But I don't know if that would be fair to anyone else anyways if you could compete. I'm here for the love of the game.
Starting point is 01:25:23 Right, right. So I expect some heated competition. We're going to give everyone a week to go at it and we'll just see how things shake out. I think it'll be pretty fun. All good. I hope there's some first-time contestants coming out
Starting point is 01:25:38 there hot and hard just to get ready with the contest. It's been going better and better each time so there's more people getting into it. I hope we get a pile of people who are long-time listeners and first-time callers as well.
Starting point is 01:25:55 Tommy, do you think Scant's accent sounds like what people say our accents sound like? I think so, probably. It's not thick, but it's Canadian. Scantz sounds like he was on Trailer Park Boys to me. The funny thing is, as a Maritimer,
Starting point is 01:26:17 and I've had people like, I don't get that move, that TV show. I'm like, dude, I grew up with people exactly like the Trailer Park Boys. The guy who plays Julian owned a pizza joint that TV show. I'm like, dude, I grew up with people exactly like the trailer park. Uh, the guy plays Julian owned a pizza joint a bit, two miles from where I grew up. Like prior to the show, he owned a pizza joint. Okay.
Starting point is 01:26:34 Yeah. Very early on in the show when he was, when he was acting, but right. Yeah. They probably weren't working at the beginning of that show. Anyways. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:41 Yeah. I've got a couple of buddies that are, um, Ricky's dad, the lawyer in mind it was they were lawyers together and stuff like that so it's a pretty small community and uh but yes i i grew up with people who were like trailer park boys so like characters in it yeah that's good yeah yeah so i can i can associate with it a lot so that's good well scantz i think uh we're excited to see how the contest takes form. And after we get you off, we'll probably go into some of the nitty-gritty
Starting point is 01:27:12 of some of the more details just so everyone knows. So when this podcast comes out Sunday night on YouTube or Monday morning to audio for everyone listening to it, on Instagram on Monday morning, which would be the 25th of April, the 25th of April, we're going to post the announcement for the contest, and it is going to be an authentic Scantz reveal as the announcement. We've got something pretty fun planned for that. I got my homework. I'm good. I'm good. Are we still tracking that we should
Starting point is 01:27:45 be good to go oh yeah I told Miss Cancer there's nothing getting done I've got I've got work I've got important stuff to do so just like friggin get out of here go on you probably have to help me with some blocking and maybe some editing and stuff but just
Starting point is 01:28:01 work's got to be done important stuff first I like it oh yeah I'm probably gonna tell my boss some editing and stuff, but just work's got to be done. Important stuff first. Good. That's right. Charities. I like it. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:09 I'm probably going to tell my boss, listen, man, I'm just not making it. Something bigger. There's a new contest coming out. When he comes into the office, I'll point to my left flag and I'll say that. That's what you need right there. I'll have some more money at my desk and he'll get it.
Starting point is 01:28:24 He'll know. Excellent. That's good. Well, thanks he'll get it. He'll know. Excellent. That's good. Well, thanks, Gantz, for looking forward to this, and we appreciate you being the mole and maintaining your anonymity. I might take a lot of heat for this. I'm probably going to get Don piled on it more. That's all good, though. I can take it.
Starting point is 01:28:41 I can blow that off. Whatever. But anyways, all good, boys. Freaking have a good night I'm happy to help participate and can't wait to see the can't wait to see the contestants I am fired up cool beans
Starting point is 01:28:54 alright sounds good talk to you later boys thanks Scantz Tanner we got two helpings of cool beans on this episode that was a lot of cool beans scantz is a good good fellow yeah it's just so funny actually talking to these people yeah yeah after knowing who they are for like actual years yeah yeah um it it does make a case for becoming a supporting member. Like you do, there is like a group of people in there that are going to openly welcome you and like,
Starting point is 01:29:31 be like, great. Everyone's going to be like, awesome. Another new friend that likes these same things that we do. So if you like, like the massonomics podcast, you listen to most episodes,
Starting point is 01:29:40 you're pretty into it. And you haven't become a supporting member. I would seriously recommend it join it and there's a whole group of people just waiting to take you in open arms yes that love it and like um just uh every time someone new joins there's just a flurry of people you know that are just so excited for them to get in there um so yeah so i guess details of the contest we should say specifics so there were for sure for sure we'll explain it here but it's hard to get it all down so yeah there will be an
Starting point is 01:30:10 instagram post on monday yeah like we said it's gonna be a fun reveal video that scans will be doing but also all the the directions and the rules and everything will be in that caption so you can actually go back and read it right but we'll try and recap it all here so uh it's gonna be your best reveal video that can be whatever a reveal means. Get creative with it. The traditional reveal was a garage door closed, the garage door open to reveal scants. But man, there's a lot of ways you can go with that.
Starting point is 01:30:36 Yeah, you just, even of that interpretation, there's an infinite number of things you can do. Yeah, there's an infinite number of things that could be happening with that reveal. Because what's behind that garage door? Yeah, and it could be anything. I mean, it could be a garage door. It could be a regular opening door. You could be happening because what's behind that garage door yeah and it could be anything i mean it could be a garage door could be a regular opening door you could be revealed like scant said behind curtains out of water like there's so many ways you could drop
Starting point is 01:30:52 into frame drop out like there's a thousand ways it could be in the gym it could involve gym equipment but it doesn't have to it could have nothing to do with the gym we just want the best one and the best is that the funniest maybe is it the most creative maybe is it the craziest maybe that's what we'll have to decide once we see these things i would my recommendation is to shoot for a time frame of approximately a good video that we we we can digest is usually about 30 seconds yeah about 30 it cannot be over a minute like instagram we're not doing the the long story things like so it cannot be over a minute that is the one rule i would try to kick it to 30 your chances for success we're telling you from people that have posted on instagram for a long time and made a lot of posts engagement goes way down the closer
Starting point is 01:31:39 you get to a minute so if you can keep that video closer to 30 seconds it's a little punchier it gets to the point quicker and we're not saying the winner is the one that uh we can get the most engagement on instagram by any means but it's not it's fun to pick a winner if like instagram doesn't like it and we can't even get anyone to see it and share it with them anyways it's just not as fun so like these ones that i it's just a good recommendation to shoot for about that 30 seconds is a is a safer spot it can't be over. Yeah. Oh,
Starting point is 01:32:06 for sure. 10 seconds. There's nothing wrong with no, for sure. It just, it for sure. Can't be over a minute though. Like that's a rule of the contest.
Starting point is 01:32:14 Yep. And, uh, okay. So yeah, best reveal video. You could be wearing something massonomics, but you wouldn't have to,
Starting point is 01:32:20 but it's not, that's not bad. Brownie points. I would say it's come down to brownie points. Exactly. Yeah, that's true. If there there's two 10 out of 10 videos and one of them you're decked out in mass dynamics other than that i mean i kind of know where i would lie my uh preferences there absolutely and there's gonna be prize all right so as far as rules like okay so yeah starting monday morning the 25th, it'll run until the next Monday,
Starting point is 01:32:46 which is like February, or sorry, May, is it like May 2nd or something like that? Yeah, I could even tell you it will be May 2nd is the last day to enter. Okay, and so that gives you all of the week and then the weekend, if you have bigger plans to make it, you can still post it on Monday
Starting point is 01:33:02 and we'll look at those entries. So you have to post it to your page and then tag us. Yes. And use the what hashtag? We didn't even really say that. I think it's got to be Massanomics Reveal, right? Yeah. So it's hashtag Massanomics Reveal.
Starting point is 01:33:18 Tag us and use hashtag Massanomics Reveal. And you have to post it to your main page. Yeah. So the story isn't searchable for us. So we can see, click on that hashtag, Comics Reveal. And you have to post it to your main page. Yeah, so we can see it. The story isn't searchable for us. So we can see, click on that hashtag, see all of them. And then we're going to go through all of them. I don't know if we've decided what day we're going to announce it. Usually we'll do it.
Starting point is 01:33:35 We'll announce it that week sometime probably. Like maybe on the Wednesday pot when we record, say on a Wednesday, we'll have it figured out by then. Yeah, so that's how we usually do it. Do we talk prizes now? Yeah, I think we should talk the prizes and this is exciting is maybe even the more exciting yeah the more exciting part so nobody knows about this yeah no one knows about the prizes so what do we start with the with the runner-up prizes yes so our runner-up prizes did we say we're going to do we're going to be giving away we're not putting a hard number on it right
Starting point is 01:34:02 now but we are going to be giving away multiple massonomics gift cards yeah so you can load up on massonomics gear yeah so those are be out for all the runners up you'll get massonomics gift cards and we don't know how many runners up there's going to be yet we're going to play that by feel yeah spreadsheets are involved in this process and heavy spreadsheet and then there's a tier system and it depends on how many end up in this tier that we feel like we can't not give prizes to. so yeah. But there will be multiple runners. Yes.
Starting point is 01:34:29 Yes. Multiple. So you don't gotta worry about missing out on the cut if you make something really good. Right. So yeah. Masonomics gift certificates, but the grand prize winner.
Starting point is 01:34:37 This is really the, this is a grand prize heavy. The grand prize winner in the past, we did a very medium sized check. A medium sized check. Big math won that in the past. He did. It was about, you know, we held it between us,
Starting point is 01:34:48 and we were two feet wide or so. It was a very medium-sized check. Yeah, a lot bigger than a regular check. I think it was like 18 inches long. It was about a foot and a half. But it's still way bigger than a regular check. Probably five times bigger. A lot smaller than a large, giant jumbo check.
Starting point is 01:35:03 So this time, we went with the jumbo check. Very jumbo. Very jumbo check. This check is, what's the actual dimensions of the gallery? It's like five or six feet long. I think it's six. Is it six feet by 30 inches? Is it 72 by 30?
Starting point is 01:35:16 Something like that. 60 by 30? It's big. It's a very large check. It's a very, very large check. And this very, very large check is for the amount of $69, which what's significant about this is that the production and manufacturing of this check costs more than the value of the value of the check.
Starting point is 01:35:32 Correct. That's how we decided to use the budget. And the beauty of it is we are actually shipping this check. So yes, this check will be signed by both of us and we will also put your name on it. We verified logistics that we are going to, this check can in fact be mailed. It would need to be a winner.
Starting point is 01:35:49 Actually, I don't... If it's in the United States, we're for sure mailing it to you. If it's Canadian, I think we can work it out somehow. We'll figure out a way. It's probably going to get really expensive, but we'll figure out a way.
Starting point is 01:36:00 If you're outside of there, maybe it's even still possible, but I don't want to discourage anyone from trying. We're going to shift this. We'll figure out a way. Yeah, if you win, you're getting this giant check. You're getting this damn giant check, whether you like it or not. So you're getting this giant check.
Starting point is 01:36:14 We spent more on the budget of the manufacturing of the check than what the check is for, but we're going to make that up to you in Masonomics gift cards. Yeah, you're also going to win gift cards. And you'll win larger gift cards than everyone else. You're going to win a pretty hefty stack of value. Yeah, you'll be able to outfit yourself from head to toe. You can go nuts in the store once you get that gift card.
Starting point is 01:36:32 But the coolest part is still the giant $69 check. It is, and you're going to live in infamy as being the winner of the Massanomics reveal contest and the giant check. That's not something that a lot of people can say they've done. I'm really bullish on this contest overall. I think there's a lot of fun to be had here. I think there is. There is a lot of fun. And you know what we were saying earlier?
Starting point is 01:36:56 There might be lifting involved. There might not be any lifting involved. Right. Scantz doesn't have a lot of lifting involved in his videos. Yeah, it's pretty limitless on options there we just want to be entertained yep are you not entertained russell crowe impersonation we're looking for our russell crowe we're the little we're the little emperor sitting in our throne just watching with our thumbs out yeah while the crowd's going wild that's us yeah and yeah we're just looking for that little
Starting point is 01:37:27 russell crow yeah there's a little russell crow and all of us i think i think they're just waiting to crawl out so that is the contest is there anything else we haven't covered on it tanner i think that's i think refer to the post on instagram on monday that's gonna be more questions that'll keep the details there and um it'll be a fun video in itself yeah yes and yeah also yeah watch for that exciting to get the mole revealed here finally um i don't know you know it's it's uh also sad when things like this come to an end but it is it was uh you know that's that's the thing about climax because it means we just got to go on to the next thing now. Yeah, that's true. Well, this isn't done yet.
Starting point is 01:38:06 But soon it means we have to go on to the next thing. I don't know if they'll ever be able to be a mole like there was the original mole, though. You know what they say, Tanner? Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened. Yeah, every new beginning comes from some other beginning. I hate to see you go, but I'd love to watch you leave. Maybe that's...
Starting point is 01:38:22 With that honky-k badonkadonk that's what it is today's 420 i'm wearing the grassonomics shirt we also have the high bar lifting club t for sale too yeah and those were popping off today we're popping off if you want a high bar lifting club t better not wait or if you're not grassonomics yeah the grassonomics one is almost gone and when that one's gone yeah it will for sure go into the vault. Just a few sizes left. The high bar is moving fast. So get one of those. If the momentum keeps up, we might get a reorder going there.
Starting point is 01:38:51 And do not adjust your sets. You're wearing the band tee. I am. And I actually don't even have, like from where I'm looking at in the camera, it looks like perfectly. I know because it's so small over there too. I guess most people probably watch on their, a lot of people probably watch on their phone.
Starting point is 01:39:04 So it probably looks normal, but... Right. Quite pixelated, censored for your protection. Exactly. We got to read ads? Yeah, let's hear from some adverdance. In 1995, Maurice Bigmo Huffman founded SwissLink. He had a partner based in Switzerland,
Starting point is 01:39:23 and their mission was to bring authentic Swiss army goods to the night, to the United States and into the hands of those yearning for quality gear at uncompromised prices. Starting point is 01:39:42 forces around the world. I couldn't, I couldn't not cough. I had to cough. I was trying so hard that whole time to not do it. Starting point is 01:42:33 It's like a merging of cultures. It's like a melting pot. It's like, this is what it's like when worlds collide. Oh, yeah. It's like, you ready, brother? Am I at a Power Man 5000 concert?
Starting point is 01:42:44 No. Or am I just in five ads? With Swiss Link and Fusion Sports Performance. It's like a mass economics trade show. With five vendors at it. I like, that'd be a fun trade show. I'd go to that one. Six vendors.
Starting point is 01:43:02 That's true. Yeah, true. Yeah, six. I'm just like saying five, like five. But technically it'd be seven because we'd Six fenders. Yeah, true. Yeah, six. I'm just saying five, like five. But technically it'd be seven because we'd be there too. That's true. That's actually not less than what are at a lot of things. It'd be a more lively trade show than a lot of them.
Starting point is 01:43:16 Let's see. That would be pretty fun. Actually. Amazing trade show. If we could get everyone there. I'd love to do that. I think that'd be a little bit of a draw with all that. I think it would be.
Starting point is 01:43:26 I think people would show up for that. With Spud and Juggernaut and the Strength Co. and Fusion SP and Swiss Link and Texas Power Bars. If Buddy Caps came too, we'd have Buddy, Grant, Chad, Spud. That would be a really fun Saturday. Yeah. Us? I'd be there. Yeah. Big Jonathan could come. yeah us i'd be there yeah big jonathan could come big jonathan would
Starting point is 01:43:48 definitely be there he's sponsored by almost every one of those people too so yeah he'd be it'd be i don't know if his contract would allow him to not be there yeah we could maybe even invite some like adjacent like obsidian could would probably want to have a boot there you know probably companies man this is sounding like a place i want to go to is this the arnold he kind of sort of is almost yeah wow is that a boot that then or i think that's probably about it exciting episode here we had at 316 was a lot of drama in that one. A lot of, very dramatic. We were kind of like several M Night Shyamalan twists.
Starting point is 01:44:28 Yeah, twists and turns. Yeah. It's like the Quentin Tarantino movie really busted up the timeline. You know, we said we're going to go and then the timeline had to change. Then we brought it back to the beginning.
Starting point is 01:44:37 Right, right. And the Discord still doesn't know what's going on. Those dopes. But if you do want to join the Discord, you can go to massnomics.com slash join, and you'll find a few different options. We'd love to have you in there. It's a lot of fun.
