You know, thanks for what you do with your podcast and all the rest.
You're doing a great job.
Hope everybody keeps tuning in.
You get a lot of good info, a lot of insights,
understandings on how to get strong, how to stay strong,
how to use your strength.
You do a great job, dude.
You make things better than they are in real life, I think.
If you don't follow Massanomics, y'all do it.
Social media, website, everything.
Massanomics!
Massanomics!
everything massonomics welcome back everyone for episode 385 of the massonomics podcast the lifting podcast about
nothing uh my name is tanner and my name is tommy of course we're recording live
recorded live in in front of a live studio audience,
which is our Discord-supported number.
Oh, they're going crazy tonight.
They're popping.
Laugh track.
They're hitting with the laugh track.
You know they say if you listen to the Mathsonomics podcast without the laugh track,
it's not actually funny.
I believe it.
I haven't done it. I'm afraid to do it but i believe it
yeah so don't don't really try to listen to it without the laugh track you'll realize without
all the piped in laughter it's not actually that it's actually kind of just creepy and perverted
the whole time yeah that's a that's that may be like a sweet little bonus, like how perverted it gets.
That might be even better.
Yeah.
Speaking of perverted stuff, this isn't related to that.
This episode is brought to you by Juggernaut AI.
Speaking of things that are not perverted, Juggernaut AI.
It's the training that Tommy and I both use.
It's what a whole bunch of members at Mastodonomics Gym use,
a whole bunch of our Mastodonomics supporting members a whole bunch of our Massanomics supporting members use,
and just people all over the world, I think.
What are the numbers on that?
What do they say?
How many people?
There's 50,000-plus lifters.
I thought it was tens of millions, I thought.
Yeah.
Oh, it says 50,000-plus.
Yeah.
That could be anything.
Any number between that and the number of people on Earth, I guess.
That's true.
Uh,
there,
there's also 15 plus quadrillion program variations,
which sounds like a lot.
One for every person on earth.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's exactly how many people are on earth.
Damn overpopulation these days.
I blame,
I blame the Chinese.
Yep.
Something's out of control there.
Uh,
now check them out at juggernautai.app.
There is so many program variations because it's very customizable, and it becomes more customized the longer you use it.
It starts to tailor to you.
It's principle-based training, which I like.
You know, there's phasic structures to the training.
You also got options in there for power lifting or power building,
and it does things for you to help keep it from getting too stale,
like the bridge block that you can start after you do your testing
and then going into hypertrophy strength training and peaking.
So check it out.
See it for yourself.
There's a free trial.
I think you can actually try it for like a month for free.
Go to the website, juggernautai.app,
and make sure to use discount code MASSANOMICS when you're there.
That's what will save you 10% for the lifetime of the membership
is discount code MASSANOMICS.
So thank you, Juggernaut AI.
And today's episode is also brought to you by Barefoot Shoes
and the special edition, very important, highly sought after,
Ursanomics.
The Ursonomics is a genetic splicing of suede and canvas,
something never before thought possible.
It combines the strength and durability and comfort of suede leather
with lightweight and breathable canvas for a shoe that sits at the top of the food chain.
Its wide, flat physique offers a stable podium for your powerful paws,
while its flexible nature promotes a gait as natural as a bear prowling the Alaskan wilderness.
Whether you're establishing dominance in the squat cage or your favorite watering hole,
the sneaker lets everyone know you lift hard and live easy. Reserve your pair of the Ersonomics
Reserve your pair of the Ersonomics now at barefoot.store.
We've only made 250 of these bad boys.
I should say we're actually in the process of making 250 of these bad boys.
So you want to get on the list before they sell out.
Orders will be shipping October of 2023.
And to make this deal a little sweeter,
you can get a free pair of the Barefoot awesome wraps with your purchase just make sure to use code mass to seal this deal at checkout and make sure you add the
wraps to your cart with the shoes and then when you go to checkout use code mass that will make
these shoes or that will make the wraps free with your purchase of shoes.
And if you're wondering why they call them the awesome wraps,
it's because they go around your ankle, wrist.
I was like, elbow doesn't start with an A.
It goes around your ankle, wrist, and elbow for added support during any of your lifts.
And they are a unique wrap.
They're probably a little thinner and stretchier
than what you're used to.
But being that they are like that 36-inch length,
you can really tighten them down as much as you need to.
So it's probably something that you're not used to,
but I do find them unique.
And it's another tool to add into your training.
So please go buy the shoe, www.barefoot.store. They're already
selling pretty damn good. We don't want to rut your we we'd hate to run out of stock in a size
and you not have it. So to take advantage of that, make sure you're going to the store and buying
those before any of them are totally spoken for. You can do that at www.barefoot.store.
spoken for you can do that at www.barefoot.store oh hell yeah i don't know if you're watching along on at home you might see i've got a got one handy right here lighter than air it's floating on the
microphone stand it is very light like it can this this microphone stand kind of works on gravity
and to see this shoe doesn't even affect it that's how light it is
it's like you're walking out with bare feet with these things almost they should
use that in their marketing somehow about how they could do this barefoot thing yeah
uh i don't have the awesome wraps i guess mine got lost in the mail between
north dakota and south dakota so oh i can you. I have like six pairs of them over here.
I just keep getting them in the mail over and over.
It's like every week you get more awesome wraps.
I just started throwing them out.
I don't even know what to do with them.
I have all these spares over here.
We are going to, we've got a cool episode this week,
a little bit different.
We don't do this all the time, but we do do it sometimes.
We've got a q
and a episode this week uh we're not gonna have a guest so you're just gonna get a whole lot of
tommy and tanner this week uninterrupted yeah unadulterated ambiguous provocative time did you
do you ever did you ever see the ambiguously gay duo oh i thought that was the funniest thing ever
i loved it that was one of my favorite parts of snl when that game on i thought that was the funniest thing ever i loved it that was one of
my favorite parts of snl when that game on i thought it was so hilarious they're ambiguously
gay in an ambiguous way ambiguously gay duo what were their names again i don't know oh man that's
a good question i gotta know ace and gary yes yes there you go clutch yes tag master because i knew it
was such a master to the rescue yes i always thought it was the funniest combination of
names together yes ace and gary there you go and there was always like that one bad guy that they
were trying to stop yeah yeah those are great i loved them i suppose i mean is that is there a
reason you couldn't do that now because i don't wasn't like, was it like derogatory towards gays or not?
No, I don't think that was.
You know what?
Actually, I'd have to go back and watch it.
In hindsight, it's probably horrifically derogatory or something,
but it didn't seem like it.
Like it was probably doing some gay stereotypes,
but I don't think it was like being mean in a way.
Right.
But again, I was also in like middle school-ish.
So it's possible some of the jokes went by me too.
Right, right, right.
I'm going to have to look those up, see how they hold up.
Yeah, we do need to see that and see how they hold up.
Okay, Q&A time.
Should we just jump into some Qs?
I got questions first though, Tanner.
I got questions.
All right.
First one.
Well, this is a Q&A, so perfect timing actually.
It's one of the perks of being one of the founders of the company.
You get to put your question before everyone else's.
Everyone else.
You pull the Trump card.
I've been seeing some things in the Discord.
Why do you need VCRs?
I'm surprised nobody's really specifically asked that question. I've kind of been,
have I missed this, but I never saw it asked, which was blowing my mind that no one,
that's why I've kind of, you know, to use the word again, left, I left it a little ambiguous.
Like today I was like, I posted now I have two VCRs and like, still nobody asked like why
I wanted VCRs. And I and i figured out oh i'm like oh
i'll post this picture of two and they'll be like why do you have two vcs that was my first question
no one asked i don't know what's going on uh maybe we'll leave that as a cliffhanger to be
continued why i need vcrs okay okay i know what i'm doing is, you'll find this maybe a little bit interesting.
I wanted to convert old home videos to something usable.
And what I have, they're not even VHS.
They're like that.
Is it like the Super 8 or the Hi8?
Yeah, like Super 8 or whatever, Hi8 maybe.
So you put that inside of a thing that's the shape of a normal vhs that has a
little flip open you put that in there and then you can play it on a vcr i was going to get this
done either locally have them digitize yeah these either locally or um and these are from like when
i was a little kid like my parents uh uh tapes you know so they're 30 some years old. And I was going to do it locally. And I got a,
got a quote for that. And, you know, it's these little tapes and I don't even know what's on half
of them, but I just wanted to do them all. And then I also looked online and did some pricing,
you know, how much, like locally, for example, you know, how much it would cost to do that.
Like they price it per tape, which I've got like 25 tapes.
What's each tape
about an hour this is that what they like that yeah it doesn't even they don't even care it's
just per tape okay i'm just curious like how long some tapes can be like three hours right i'm just
curious how long would even take it to go um boy do they do 40 a tape, it was like $40 a tape.
So it would have been like $1,000.
It was something like that. So it would have been like $1,000
for me to do that.
And then I'm like, okay.
And then also
online, the resources, they were a little bit better.
They can, you know, there's
companies that do a good job of this online.
It's still, you know,
by the time you add in the shipping,
shipping back and all this other,
and they,
then they want to make you buy like their,
whether you,
they put it in like their cloud or like stuff like that,
you buy that.
And so it ends up being pretty expensive through them too.
But I'm like,
this can't be that hard.
And I started looking at options and like,
this is a very common,
and like the software that what is this brand
this is uh you know this brand elgato oh yeah yep yep we have a lot and elgato was a highly
recommended uh by several reviewers they because you can buy the same thing in a cheap mini much
cheaper versions this is like 80 bucks or something like that you can buy like a whole
bunch of 15 or 20 versions off of amazon but they say the problem with all those is the software is absolutely horrible.
You almost can't even like do what you want to.
I believe that.
And they're like, just get the Elgato one because it works
and it's like easily user-friendly.
Yep.
So what do you do?
Our lighting is Elgato.
Is that right?
Yeah, our lighting is Elgato.
We have our stands holding our cameras are Elgato. We have various Elgato. Is that right? Yeah, our lighting is Elgato. We have our stands holding our cameras are Elgato.
We have various Elgato things.
So do you plug that into the VCR and that plugs into your computer?
Yeah, it's just got like, I don't know, I call this RCA plugs,
but whatever you call those, like the analog version.
Red, white, yellow ones.
Yeah, and you just plug that into your computer
and you plug that into a VCR or DVD player or whatever it is. So is it plugged into your computer and you plug that into a vcr
or dvd player whatever it is like through hdmi or how is it uh no it's through uh the little uh
like the usbc plug yeah that's what it was i'm pretty sure i actually haven't even opened it
but i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that it was the usbc plug uh-huh and so then it just reads it
right off the vcr player you just hit play yeah so you have to actually you know if it's a three-hour tape you need to it needs to play for all three
you know it's not like magic where it's just like oh right off it actually it needs it to play and
um but it can do like auto stop and so you don't have to be babysitting it you know it'll just stop
when the vcr i mean that should be a pretty straightforward process that once you go you
just hit play and kind of walk away.
Right.
And then it's like, OK, one's done.
And like you can easily trim within the software of this and stuff, too.
And that's like the other ones are like, no, if you don't like if you're not there to stop it, you're going to get like 10 hours of nothing.
And then you can't really do much with it at once.
You know, and like this is pretty supposed to be fairly straightforward.
But yeah, so this was $80. but my missing link was a VCR.
And do you know how much, how expensive a new VCR is?
Guess how much a new VCR costs.
Can you actually buy new ones though?
You can order them.
Yeah.
You can get like off Amazon, of course, you know,
and like, I don't know what brands, if it's Panasonic or whatever the.
$80?
No, they're like $300.
Oh, what?
Yeah.
Are you sure that's a new one, not like an antique?
That's the last one?
No, yeah.
Maybe you can find some cheap chintzy ones somewhere,
but my very quick searching of just Googling it in Amazon a little bit,
I was like, oh, yeah, I'm not buying a new VCR.
Because I'm like, a VCR should be like $20,
or they should just pay you to take one.
Oh, that's what I assumed, yeah.
Yeah.
Holy.
But no.
Are you seeing that at all?
Are you looking?
I was actually just looking,
do you know what the max resolution of a VHS tape is?
We're used to 1080p, 4K.
I don't know if I'll understand the reference even,
but is it a number that'll mean something to me
in comparison to 1080?
It might. Okay, so what is the... It's like what is it a number that'll mean something to me in comparison to 1080 um it might okay so what is the it's like 480p oh okay so does that mean it's half as good or does it mean well it would be like a quarter as good as like 1080p i think i'm almost surprised
it's that good though because it's awful like yeah because you don't think about it like even dvds
i don't think dvds could do 1080 i think dvds could only do 720p here's a here's a jvc one for
150 is like when i'm quickly looking it's the cheapest sony 250 magnavox 309 samsung 300 that's Samsung 300. That's crazy.
Another computer full of VHS footage in no time.
Yeah.
So then what I'm going to do is, because even then it's still like, well, if you want your family to be able to watch stuff like this, still, what do you do? I mean, you could put it on a mini, what's like our soundboard use?
What are those called?
Oh, like a little SD card.
Yeah, like an SD card.
You can put it on an SD card
or you can put it on a thumb drive and stuff like that.
I'm like, really though, that's still not that convenient
because when you want to watch this stuff,
it's usually like, oh, just throw it on.
If you're like hanging around with family at Christmas,
you just want to like put it on.
So then it's still like, well, you got to find something to play it.
You know what I've heard of people doing?
Well, maybe this is what I'm going to do.
Because what I'm going to do is I'm just going to create a private YouTube channel.
Yep.
And just put everyone in as a video.
And then all somebody needs is the link.
Yep.
To do it.
That's what I was going to say.
I'd never, that never dawned on me until I was listening to a podcast
in the last couple of weeks,
and someone was talking about home videos of stuff with their kids,
and they're like, yep, it just goes on a private YouTube video.
And I'm like, oh, I actually never really thought of that.
Yeah, if someone has the link, they can just see those and have them forever.
That's an awesome idea, and I'm definitely going to do that.
And then it's so easy.
If you're at a smart TV or any or a computer obviously or a phone anything with youtube and
you're you know my mom or in my aunt or anyone it's just like nope here's the link go check
them out anytime you want to ever yep makes it easy Keith posts his picture he's holding that
video and I guess to explain the name of this if anyone's
curious about doing it themselves it's a video capture is the uh device from elgato and big
keith is literally there he photoshopped my picture of that really quickly and put it in
front of himself or uh looks like he also has it yeah so maybe he can give me some feedback of it if it, if it worked well.
All right.
Well, I'm glad I have some,
some answers there.
So that's why the VCR is.
Cause I was like,
I'm not spending $300 on a VCR.
Yeah.
You don't want to do that,
but you should come out way ahead price-wise here on this,
in this whole.
Oh yeah.
I'll have $80 into it.
Yeah.
Versus plus the ability,
plus the ability to just do any tape going forward. Well, that's why I'm like, I'm going to80 into it versus a thousand. Plus the ability to just do any tape going forward.
Well, that's why I'm like, I'm going to just start a small business here.
Like, anyone want yours converted?
Yeah, a thousand dollars.
Here, let me just make up numbers.
One million dollars, I'll convert yours for you.
I mean, you could almost undercut them by half and still be coming out pretty good.
Well, I'm like, it doesn't work.
Maybe once I actually do it, I find out, sing a different tune. will be coming out pretty good well i'm like it doesn't work i maybe and maybe once uh i actually
do it i find out sing a different tune but i'm like that doesn't require all that much work i
don't think no i don't think so uh should we jump into some well i mean that started the q a that
i have one more question tanner oh okay oh you had multiple questions i have multiple questions i
i don't know if you saw i submitted multiple questions in in my yeah now i'm seeing it okay um are you going to the little
john concert this weekend in aberdeen no i'm not gonna go well you mean the hinder concert
depending on what genre you're into it's a hinder slash like you would expect little john you know
the the headline of course the pairing anyone would expect.
Hinder Lil Jon, hinder opening for Lil Jon.
I would, I'm not going to go, because is that Friday night?
It's Friday night, yes.
Yeah, I would love to see, though, what a Lil Jon concert even is.
Like, I'm like, what is it that you do up there? Like, because, you know, a lot of concerts I go to, the person sings for an hour or two.
But I'm like, what is it that little John does for that long?
Just gets the crowd going crazy.
Well, he's also not a DJ, right?
No, he'll be rapping and doing his...
Oh, because I've never really hardly heard him rap.
He just yells certain words repeatedly.
That's the majority of what he does, is yell.
But yeah, I'll be there, so I'll report back on how it goes. I'm looking forward to it. just yells like i mean that's the majority of what he does yes is yell but yeah um well i'll
be there so i'll report back on how it goes i'm yeah to it yeah so i i'm curious almost like
i would just want to be like so what is it that you're going to do the whole time i mean like
and also i'm are all the songs i'm thinking of his, are they his, are those actually somebody else's song that he's just on with?
Like,
does he have any that like,
what is a,
what are the little like,
um,
shots is that's LMFAO.
That's one of the top ones I think of.
Yeah.
And that's somebody I always like to just go to Spotify and see.
So like turn down for what,
you know,
that's not really,
that's the number one that pops up. And is that that hit is he the first artist in that is is there any song where little john
is the first person listed is there one well he might be the first person listed on this one
okay dj turned down for what but i'd turn down for what yeah but shots lmfao um snap your fingers oh
that one was kind of a classic back in the day uh he does pretty much
is that is that just him or is that anybody i think that is just okay like because that really
like when i think of it in my head that seems like it's just him yeah um i mean there's not
a ton of songs that are just him though um but so then what is it it's just recordings of uh
yeah it's like you know if you sing shots it's just l of uh yeah it's like you know if you sing shots
it's just lf mfa it's like a recording and you hear yeah and then he's like kind of yelling over
it and getting the crowd right but like that's what the thing that they do is usually with stuff
like this is if they only have a verse like they'll go into rapid fire where they just go
through like it'll be like 10 minutes they just do a bunch of verses five songs of them doing
their verses and you're like whoa this is crazy i'm getting hit with a new song every 30 seconds right so
yeah i'll report back i'll let you know how that one goes it should be but he can't play he can't
be on for very long um i don't know man he's been doing i don't know he has like 20 years with the
songs like yeah i don't know he could probably figure out a way to fill a set i don't know. He could probably figure out a way to fill a set. Again, I don't know.
I'm totally not sure there.
Hinder, I wouldn't care about seeing quite as much.
That's Lips of an Angel is the only song I can think of.
I was going to say, that's the only one I know.
I know there is others that they have that, you know,
if you're into that music,
you probably could rattle off 10 of theirs too,
but Lips of an Angel is like the only one that comes to my mind.
Yeah.
I guess I'm just curious if little John's going to be there with the East
side boys or if he's all alone,
you know,
like,
do you like,
is that a thing?
Like,
do those guys,
that's also,
that's kind of the stuff I'm wondering,
like,
does anyone else come with them or is it just like,
you're just getting him?
I think you're just getting him.
Yeah.
Like him.
And like he tours with a DJ or something probably, right?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, he just has a DJ and some type of like hype man or something too.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'll let you know.
Yeah.
I would have liked to have gone to Nelly quite a bit more,
and I missed.
I didn't get that.
I was surprised how good Nelly was because I had heard terrible things
from people I'd gone to. He's like a bad performer. Yeah, like other shows that people had gone to. missed i didn't i was surprised how good nelly was because i had heard terrible things from like
he's like a bad performance yeah like other shows that people had gone to because he is was in the
area for a while like a little bit and i'd heard several people like it was one of the worst shows
ever like he was not trying at all yeah so i went in with super low expectations and i'm like damn
like not some big nelly fan or anything but he made an entertaining
night like everyone there was having a really good time so i had maybe just had other off night it's
just like anyone like sometimes someone's gonna perform worse than other times right or if you're
like at a smaller venue and you're like oh fuck it i don't really care like right where this one
you're out this big outdoor thing and there is a quite a few people are actually you know so maybe
that uh like he gets feeds off that energy or
something too yeah because there is a lot of people that go i mean it's from the outside
looking in it's probably a joke like oh the brown county fair but like it does like get
what really well attended and it is a pretty big uh outdoor uh venue really yep it is the big this
also doesn't necessarily mean a lot but this is the biggest fair in South Dakota. I know. Right here in western northeast South Dakota.
Holding it down.
That's what we do.
They typically get, wow.
I guess on average, across the whole,
they typically get the best entertainment of the fairs, I guess.
You know, like sometimes it's more hit and miss than others.
Yeah, the state fair goes more after the classic rock crowd,
where this goes more after country and now lately older pop acts yeah it's who who else has it been prior to nelly
who was it immediately prior to that or was there anyone of like see this is where i always
struggle because it's always just country acts and i don't know them yeah but they used to do a rock night was very
much a part of it but it was also like the lowest attended yeah i'd never you know it didn't help
that they'd put on like thursday and then it also right yeah it wasn't put on a prime night it had
a lot of things going against it right not like the old red versus blue strongman days right
that's right i would guess the little Jon will have a good crowd, though.
I would think so, too.
I'd be surprised if people don't show up for that one
because entertainment like that doesn't come to Aberdeen very often.
So when that does happen, people usually show up.
It also helps to garner a larger crowd locally here.
I think if it is, say it's Nelly or Lil Jon,
someone that's on the backside of their career, it's nelly or lil john like someone that's like on the
back side of their career it's almost like slightly an advantage for them around here
just because it just broadens the the viewing audience by quite a bit more because it's like
oh no like they just people just know that name even if they don't aren't into because so many
of the country people kind of go no matter what like the people that like the fair basically go
no matter what and then like yeah all right i'm more of a if you're more of a country person you say that
well everyone else is going so you kind of go anyways whereas like you get the country accent
like people like me i'm like this doesn't mean anything to me i just don't even go
right i think you get the pop more pop acts and it brings in way more younger people and then
everyone else like okay everyone's doing it i'll go too so i think it does usually work out in their favor i think so what's going on right now though
a bunch of people in western northeast south dakota it's uh it's popping but uh as per usual
it's been it has been raining quite a bit so it's a sloppy mess there oh god of course like uh they
were yesterday they were uh advising people not to bring their campers because all the campers were stuck.
Well, I mean, they were advising people not to bring them, like, do not bring them today.
Like they were saying that yesterday.
Like they'll be able to bring.
It's not like they're saying don't come to the fair.
Yeah.
They're like, if you don't need to come today, don't because they have campers stuck everywhere.
Yeah.
you don't need to come today don't because they have campers stuck everywhere yeah but i think the rest of the week uh thankfully is going to be dry because if it wasn't i think it's already
kind of a mess but it would be a horrific mess if it uh it's like it's like for people that don't
know it's like woodstock 99 out there it's just crazy there's mud flying a little like the it's
a little like a music fest in terms of the camping scenario and stuff.
There is a lot of campers, and it is a muddy mess and stuff.
Are you going to stay in a camper?
Well, so we do have.
I don't know if you've ever even been to the spot.
Have you ever seen the camping spot we have?
I think I've been there or something.
I'd argue it might be the best camping spot on the entire grounds.
It's like as close as you can get to a.
Like it's just right on the west side, right? Right on the entire grounds it's like as close as you can get to a like it's just right on the west
side right right on the west the closest you can get on the west side and it's right next to the
like permanent bathroom so even when you have a camper you never have to worry about the bathroom
or anything because it's right there and uh yeah supposedly there is going to be a camper there
waiting for us the waiting list to get that camping spot would legitimately probably be like
5 000 people long.
Oh, I think that spot came up.
I think just the regular camping spots.
The list is like a thousand people long of weight.
Right.
Because it's so far.
Yeah.
This one, it's you could sell that.
You go for big bucks.
And it's because my father-in-law used to do the electrical work for the thing every year.
And that's how he got the spot.
And he's like, I will never, as long as I live, let the spot go.
It's mine forever
okay was that your was that the final question i have actually one more question tanner oh okay
uh do you have a can over there oh i thought you'd never ask and this is a very special can
yeah because let's say what's in the can all the way from big bob in texas yeah big bob in texas
uh and he says on mine he says what is it and this came nicely wrapped big bob came and lifted
at the lift hard live easy classic here a couple weekends ago and he's nice enough to send us this
can first sniff i can't tell what it is
this can first sniff i can't tell what it is
oops mine got a little i'm gonna have to jimmy this a little bit and hopefully not cut my finger mine got a little dented first taste there we go i'm not sure i can say what that is either
is it good not much of a smell yeah it's not bad
I just can't figure out what I'm drinking
tastes like a
brewski isn't it or really
I don't know you don't think it's a brewski
it does have alcohol
it does have an aftertaste of alcohol yeah
now that you say that
hmm
but it's taste.
Would it be like almost a cider of some sort or yeah.
Cause it tastes,
it feels really light,
very light.
Like,
like it feels,
I wonder if it,
what's,
what's a hop water.
I've never had hop water before,
but I've seen my wife drink a hop water.
I've heard the term before in my life.
Oh,
I wonder if this,
cause I've had,
she's had hop water and I've always wondered, I've never had it, but before in my life. Oh, I wonder if this, because she's had hop water,
and I've always wondered.
I've never had it, but I wonder if this is what hop,
because it tastes like water with a beer flavor to it to me.
And not like, oh, Coors Light, you're drinking water.
Not like that.
It actually tastes like a sparkling water that tastes a little like a beer.
I honestly, until you said aftertaste of alcohol,
I was going to say this is a sparkling water of some sort
because I wasn't picking it up.
I'm going to unwrap mine.
Yeah, let's see here.
It tastes good, though, actually.
Yeah, it's refreshing and light.
Hopspring Hoppy Sparkling Water.
I've never heard of that.
Alcohol-free.
Alcohol-free, yep.
Okay, so there's no alcohol in it, actually.
My wife being pregnant,
that's why
probably we've had uh these sort of things around before hmm that's interesting it's got a texas
logo on it so it probably comes from oklahoma i assume this is saint arnold that's a that's
i'm i'm kind of shocked I'm not even aware of this category
of drinks.
Yeah,
the ingredients are carbonated
water, hops,
and
some kind of
I can't read it very well in the light, but like
phosphoric acid. No calories.
Yeah, hop water.
I was right then.
I'd probably go three and a half on this
but it's not bad i actually i could see myself drinking these i'd give it a three and a half i
think too a real solid three and a half that is what it it makes sense to me now what hop water
it really is because that's what it tastes like it does taste like a water. It has the consistency of a sparkling water,
but it does have that brewski flavor.
Yeah, just very faint at the end, though.
It's not obvious, but it is there.
And it fits damn near perfectly in this Massanomics Drink Spotter Lite.
And it looks really good in it.
It does.
So thanks, Big Bob.
Yeah, thanks, Bob.
Bob coming through clutch.
I don't care what everyone else says about you, Bob.
You're a pretty good guy.
Okay.
All right.
Now we're getting into some cues here.
Now it's time.
31 minutes in, we can dive right into this Q&A.
Okay.
This one's from That that moto guy how many hours
a week roughly do you guys dedicate to working on massonomic stuff hmm it's a lot yeah i'd also
say it depends on what's going on like some weeks yeah some weeks to be totally honest outside of the podcast
aren't a ton but some weeks can be a lot like a lot uh and you know we just got done with the
meat and like leading up to that god there were some weeks where i don't know we probably had
five plus hours of phone calls each week. Just, just talking through
all the shit we had to do. Yes. Yup. Uh, you add in design stuff, emails back and forth with
vendors and P I mean, some of those things are hard. Like when someone says, how many hours a
week do you spend on email? I'm like, I don't know. How do you answer that? You know? Uh, yeah.
Well, it becomes really hard if if i if someone wants to ask
if you say every time i make a post on social media exactly that too yeah or like respond to
a comment yeah or read a comment yeah not even make a post how much time do you spend doing other
stuff on it you know never endless i mean and it's like and if you say what how many hours do
you dedicate well all the hours really really, because there's just always something
in the economics that I could be doing.
Oh, would that make a meme?
Is that memeable there?
Right, right.
But just the podcast alone, if I just think about that,
we spend three hours of getting ready and recording it each week
and then uh uploading you know me getting it
uploaded takes probably another 20 minutes of my time and then you take it once it's uploaded
and do your stuff with it and edit it yeah now that we got it now that we got the two different
it's editing has definitely gotten more intensive it's still not bad but now there's two streams
and the zoom one and you make the thumbnail and the audio all together,
depending on the week and if I have to cut some crap out of the video,
which I try not to do, but every once in a while I have to.
Editing is probably anywhere between,
just as a really rough guide, between one and two hours is spent on editing.
Yeah, and then you upload it to YouTube,
and then I upload the audio
to libsyn and i also create a massonomics blog post for each one on our website which all takes
a little bit of time and that's just that's just repeating every single week yep you know on the
podcast there's that and then you add in now the extra youtube video every single week and that's
one that will vary a lot depending on what the video is.
If I might not touch it at all or Tanner might not touch it at all.
And then there's also,
depending on what that video is,
like it might be a quick shoot and edit,
and it also might be an incredibly intensive shoot and edit.
So like that,
that one can vary between like for me personally,
between zero and five hours,
just depending on what
the hell we have going on with that yep uh yeah and mine's the same way because it can be you know
if it's something that you shot and then you're editing i won't spend any time on it but if it's
something that if i shoot it and then i edit it also it's never going to be less than like three
hours because just just because between shooting it it's really
hard to shoot and edit a video in less than three hours right right by the time sometimes longer
depends on how long you want to keep monkeying with it yeah by the time you think about what
by the time you even roughly plan what you're going to do have some ideas in your head you sit
down do it you go back kind of watch for the footage pare it down do it i mean it just takes
it's really hard to do a youtube video faster than that then you make thumbnails for it that's
another thing yeah um so that and then tanner has all the time of packing stuff up which
you know obviously can vary widely depending on how busy we are if it's a drop week i do i do that
basically out of seven days of the week i pack orders probably on average like five or six days
of the week but whenever i don't do them, I'm just delaying.
Like I just am making up for it the next day because they're always coming in.
You know, we don't have a day where there's not orders coming in.
Knock on wood.
But like so there's if I choose not to do it or maybe I can't do it.
Like podcast recording day, I literally just don't have a spare.
Like today I have been going from 6 a.m.
My alarm went off and we will finish this.
And if I need to get it uploaded tonight, yeah, I'll be done with this by like 1130.
And then I'm like, yeah, I'm not going to pack orders right now because it's after midnight.
And I'm like, I literally just need to go to bed.
So I'll make up for that tomorrow. I'm not getting out of you know it's just like
paying the piper the next day kind of and then if we have a big drop it's also around drops like
for both of our time you know because if we have a drop then actually I shouldn't even say it's
just if we have a drop we always have it like we always
are working on the next thing yes there's a drop yes and there's a drop every single month so it's
just right how how much of a scramble does it turn like how tight is the turnaround time on some of
that but yeah yeah I guess to like not make this question take the entire night right because it
could the low end on like a really low, low massonomics week is maybe
six hours for me.
And the high end is maybe, I don't know, 15 to 20 hours, maybe as far as like, that's
actual.
And that's like, to me counting actual time of either us talking directly about massonomics
or editing and designing that, like it's always kind of on your mind,
but if I had to say actual time,
if I was billing a client for it,
that would probably be the time if I had to give a range.
Speaking of drops, this episode will come out on the 21st.
We've got a drop coming on the 24th,
so stay tuned for our drop.
We've got a few cool items in there.
There's a couple things.
I'm actually excited about,
it's just two item drop,
I think is what we're going to roll with.
But it's two really cool things in there.
I'm excited to see how that goes.
So stay tuned for that.
It'll be Thursday, August 24th.
We have that drop coming.
And it's going to be sweet.
Okay, next question from one of the Davids.
Over or under pea gravel?
I think that depends on what you plan on doing with it.
Yeah, this reference would be into our long-running uh discord discussion on what do
you fill a sandbag with and there's been a lot of pea gravel versus sand back and forth who asked
that initially or who wanted to put pea gravel in it initially even uh be careful who you accuse
there's some very opinionated people about them uh about is that ever is that ever the
recommended fill though is that common i didn't know i've seen it before i think but uh i didn't
know that was i guess to me since they've always been called sandbags my inclination has been sand
that's what i thought but uh okay i didn't i didn't realize but i i was wrong originally in
that uh and a lot of us that were on Team Sand were wrong
because a lot of people say, well, the reason is, you know, the pea gravel is lighter because
it's bigger particles of matter, so it creates larger spaces between.
They stack not efficiently.
Right.
But like the difference in weight is like in a 200-pound sandbag, it's just a few pounds
difference.
Oh, it is.
That's all it's just a few pounds difference oh it is that's all
yeah yeah because it's like i don't really understand but i looked i found a chart that
actually showed the weight of different materials did you type in 10 pounds of pea gravel versus 10
pounds of sand because that might you might have tripped yourself there that classic riddle there
did you also type in 10 pounds of feathers too?
It's what weighs more, 10 pounds of bowling,
a 10 pound bowling ball or 10 pounds of feathers,
which drops faster, 9.8 meters per second squared.
I am on team sand just to be on record,
although I'm not going to be offended if someone chooses to use gravel.
You just won't talk to them anymore.
But if you make me not ride the line, I'm going Team Sand.
I would too.
But when they're both equally full, do they feel similar or not?
I think that, I don't know.
Yeah, I think that they do. I think they would take up the similar amount of space.
But does one feel kind of rough and bumpy,
or are the other well smooth and solid
or what i wonder is um the sand going to more easily flow to the shape of the the uh container
it's in container that it's in so that it makes it harder in a way because it could be sloppier
if it's not a tightly packed sandbag yeah right right so i don't
know but also i'm like well we got a lot of people that compete in strongman and and all the strongman
events i've been to that do it it's been sand in there so there's a reason they don't call them
pea gravel bags right yeah i made the uh meme for the discord where it was, don't put pea gravel in me.
Mostly, I think the biggest takeaway,
it's a little bit fun to get opinionated over
such stupid stuff.
I know, I know.
All the things you can have an opinion on,
have it on the most insignificant things.
Yes, I agree. But Big Alex is right that
none of this compares us all.
We're majoring in the minors because we all know that moving horse stall mats is the real you know what would be fun to do put on a do a strong man force people to do a strong man event
that's literally like no here's a stack here's a stack of 10 4x6 horse stall mats you have to
get them from here to 50 feet over there. Do it whatever way you want to.
You get,
you know,
you get no tools,
but it's,
that would be,
that would be fricking hilarious because everyone knows that those are awful.
Yeah.
It'd be God awful.
People will be like,
I don't want to do this anymore.
This is just awful.
Like what are the,
what are other awful things you could make people do in a competition?
It's just like,
like a similar thing. a rack by hand.
Yes.
All stuff that you're like, this isn't a competition anymore.
You're just making me do really shitty stuff.
Yeah, I think being strong helps here, maybe.
Okay.
This is from Big Toby.
These questions aren't pre-screened, so this is from big toby well quite these questions aren't pre-screened so this is kind of funny big toby any ideas on what events for next year's lift hard live easy classic
if there's a strongman showdown hashtag 49 weeks out so i'm thinking the horse stall matt uh
a horse stall medley so we are talking here's what i'll say about that we are
talking about still potential ideas for incorporating strongman into the lift hardly
busy classic and nothing set in stone as of yet but i would say i feel like what we'd be leaning
towards a way that we are willing you know we could do whatever the hell we want to, but here's a way that we are willing to do it. And then we think that still flits
the flow that we want to achieve is having it be a part of that same event that same day.
And, uh, it would be very limited. There's not going to be, you know, we might come out with
90 power lifters next year. There's not going to be 90 strongman it's going to be limited it would would be a
competition um but in some ways it may resemble slightly more of an exhibition like what we have
done with the strongman showdown before it would be first open to crew and supporting members
crew supporting members and gym members just like for the powerlifting meet but roughly speaking
without because I don't
want to put the cart before the horse
and here I am with only one ass so
how many things can I ride with it
that's all I'd say for now
49 weeks out is correct though so
gotta make those decisions eventually though don't we
yeah oh we got 49 weeks to decide
so that's right
here's one of the Davids again who is your don't we? Yeah. Oh, we got 49 weeks to decide. So that's right. Yeah.
Here's one of the Davids again.
Who is your favorite crew?
And why is it one of the big Davids?
We could never pick a favorite.
Easy name to remember,
right?
Yeah.
Uh,
from mad cow.
He says 55 burgers,
55 fries,
55 tacos,
55 pies.
What is that?
It's catchy.
I don't know what that is, though.
Well, is that that meme of the guy that has all the stuff where he's at the drive-thru and he just, you know, they got to yell all the time?
Oh, who is that guy?
What is that show or what is, who is?
The show is, I think, I believe the show, I got to watch it again.
I have not seen it, obviously.
I think you should leave, I believe, is the show.
Yeah, okay. Yeah, Tim Robinson. I've only seen a few there we go i've
only seen a few of the skits i haven't seen a ton of it i do so is this sketch is it is it a skit
show is it like uh the chapelle show only that's like the tim robbins as far as i know i think
that's how it is i guess i've never just sat down and watched the whole episode i've just had people
be like oh watch this one and i watched it and it's a few minutes.
But all the ones I've seen are very, very funny.
And man, that guy's face is all over every reel.
I mean, right?
Oh, God.
Is there a guy's face that exists in more reels at any point ever?
No.
No.
He just, he's just, I mean, that guy.
He's smart, though.
He's like making everything.
I feel like, I don't know if this is directly their intentions or not but it's like yeah what can we make that's going to make for
awesome viral uh content on TikTok and reels and all that stuff yeah because that's what's
happening it's all just these crazy reactions he's always having to stuff yeah man that guy's
face has probably been seen by more people than like anyone's face in America. The number of times that pops up on social media.
I'm curious.
That guy probably can't walk down the street anywhere.
You know?
No.
No.
No, not anymore.
Do the thing.
Do the thing.
Right.
Is this distracting?
I actually kind of forget it's there, to be honest.
Okay.
We'll leave it here this episode then.
Tana's talking about the shoe.
He's got the shoe just floating. The episode with the shoe floating on his face still okay big jeff says do you think
massonomics will ever get big enough to make an additional hire in parentheses paid a paid hire
it's not impossible i mean anything's possible but uh it's not light years away from that like we're
probably like uh and technically we have had people we've paid along the process to do stuff
i mean you could say we contract people for stuff we pay people to do our screen printing so like
technically in a way you know we're doing that as far as like paid employees that are full-time
you know getting a paycheck every single week every single month we haven't done that yeah it's
it's possible but uh it'd definitely be more likely for us to have someone that's a part-time
paid like someone that we pay um you know i could see that that would not be a far off like we could
all like there's certain things we could probably justify doing that on and stuff if we had to but
there's a lot of businesses in our situation that would have done this just long long a long ago
right really ain't a lot of businesses are we that's if we were to have anyone do something
it would be um probably see even there you just really can't you can like you could just like if
we're like really going to start pumping out the youtube videos you could we wouldn't have to have a paid employee you could
still just con you just just contract someone to edit videos for you you know like three you idiot
edit two videos for us every week and here's the price that that's going to cost you know
a bunch of the people we work adjacent to do that exact same thing all the you know like
most of them actually and i have a hard time ever seeing
how you could ever for our brand
pay someone to do social media.
Like that makes no sense.
I don't even know how you would do that.
Like in the sense that who are you going to find
that can do it and not be like,
why does this feel way different all of a sudden
and not the same like it used to be?
And yeah, if you're ever curious what brands do that,
just look at some of them
and see how shitty and generic their posts are. you're like oh yeah i know what ones do this
uh yeah i don't know we're not there yet but it's a never say never thing for sure like
like paying someone to pack orders that's that could be yeah but i mean if we're if we did twice
as much as what we're doing right now consistently, like it could easily get – it's like the consistently thing
because any of this stuff, we can always work through it in short bursts.
Yeah, you can always do bursts.
Like Black Friday I know is going to be nuts,
and it's just like, well, I can get through a week or two.
But if it's like that all the time, then it's like, okay,
then we've got to hire somebody.
But it's just like things have to be consistent for a long time, especially with the way we are.
I think like with the way you and I are, we're not going, our first instinct is not pay someone else to do it for us.
Our first instinct is, can we do it and keep our money?
And, you know, like, so it's got to be a valid reason to pay someone to do something usually.
Totally.
Big Steve, will there ever be a Lyft G-string?
Realistically, no, I couldn't think of that.
For a number of reasons, really.
Actually, if you say a Lyft G-string, there's a number of reasons that wouldn't exist.
I had to put the qualifier on there of realistically.
I couldn't just say no.
Like, realistically speaking. Like like if you're asking a serious
question then no no the answer to that is probably not yeah a lot of things we could do i don't
picture that i think there'd be hundreds if not thousands of products we'd make before that one
big kevin rsg if you had to pick one lift to gauge someone's overall strength what would it be druthers oh you've
thrown in druthers for me have your druthers for me if i'm gauging overall strength a hundred percent
i say squat i say the squat too i think that's like the i think it's hard to not say that you
could pull 50 random people off the street that have never lifted and there's a good chance a
handful of them would pull over 400 pounds like a hundred percent untrained never have deadlifted in their
life pull 400 pounds and then also like they're obviously strong people but those same people
that pull 400 pounds might bench 150 and they might squat 200 and to me like that's not a true
test of your strength like i get it people like oh it's the truest test of strength. It's the easiest one to be a natural at deadlift.
I agree with that.
Bench is a very good test of strength,
but it's a very, very specific test of strength.
That's why you can see.
And a lot of people just do it.
So that's where you can get thrown off.
You're like, oh, this person can bench 315.
They must be overall strong.
A lot of times, maybe not.
Like they might have spent the last 10
years benching and nothing else. And there's a lot of guys that do that. Like they, they can
bench 315 for reps. They could never squat 315 for reps. And to me, that's that shows like,
okay, your upper body has been developed, but your overall strength is not there and squat.
It's possible if you squat 500 pounds that you'd can't bench very much, but yeah,
if you squat 500 pounds, there's probably a good chance you're deadlifting around 500, if not more.
There's probably a good chance you're benching 300, if not more.
And I just think the squat's the truest test of someone's overall total body strength.
Yeah, especially when you word it like to pick one lift to gauge someone's overall strength.
If I'm only going to get to see one thing and then you want me to tell you,
okay, you saw that is the person strong for the reasons you mentioned.
It's absolutely a squat and squat is to be fair is my least favorite lift by far.
It's the one I'm the worst at out of the big three.
But for those reasons, I think it makes me realize that even more because I just like the squat is like, it is, it's hard.
It's a bitch forever.
You know, it just, you know, just in massonomics gym, you get newcomers that come in and people,
people that don't see like new people lifting, they might forget about this or not be aware
of it.
But in the gym, you get new people that show up that have basically never really lifted
weights before or maybe they did in high school and now it's been 10 years and they can come in
and with just god-awful form they can rip up 315 for reps on their first day like they're going to
be sore and it's going to hurt the next day but yeah a lot of guys can just show up somewhere
and rip 315 off the floor for reps yeah how the how many times you've ever seen someone come into
the gym and hit a squat to depth at 315 for us with no to depth is the key phrase there because
someone well that same guy might put 315 on in like a on uncomfortable looking high bar position
and then like squat down legitimately halfway or you know an actual because they don, they would not have the strength that they took it all the way down.
They'd be stuck forever.
They'd be folded.
They'd be folded like an accordion.
Yes.
Uh, yeah, absolutely.
I would just, I would, I think maybe people would try to justify the deadlift, but I,
I really would shy away of that because of the, how naturally good some people can be
at that lift.
And that's not like super uncommon for someone, for someone to be naturally good at it. Like it's not, I mean, Grant talked
about it at, uh, at the strength code booth. He has the, you know, the plate set up and the people
can come up and deadlift. And he's like, you can just take any old person in jeans and they can
just come over and just rep 500. Like it's nothing. And that is so hard to do from a squat
standpoint. And I get it. Maybe we maybe we're saying well you're just talking
weights one easier to do or not but i still at the end of the day think uh if you really want
to know if someone's really strong see how much they can squat yeah and see how what it looks
like when they do it yes yes 100 if is are they getting i don't even i don't even need to say i
don't need to see someone max out but if i see someone in the gym and they do whatever pick 275 or whatever and
they squat it for a set of however many reps but like it just looks i'm like oh yeah they
they're hit they're smoking that you know it doesn't even have to be heavy they're right around
like parallel ish because that is what separates the men from the boys if you can get your squat
to like parallel even that the difference between parallel and like four inches too high is a lot of weight you know if if i said okay you'd only have you can squat four inches
about parallel man it could load up a lot of weight on the bar all of a sudden but it's that
last little bit is where the real work is but really we know it's the jefferson deadlift well
that goes without saying yeah big jeff back which which board game are you bringing to crew
game night do you have any answers board game to be honest i'm not a huge board game guy
apples to apples is that what you'd pick no no i wouldn't i would actually specifically
not pick those because i don't i don't like those games anymore but i would pick um i would pick
either uh i would pick stratego i really like for like slightly more obscure choice that other
people it's just a one-on-one game though that's the problem there so it's not a great choice if you didn't think uh monopoly
gets shit i love monopoly i've always liked monopoly uh but i myself don't have the patience
anymore most of the time to play a full game of that i also really liked risk there again i don't
know if i have the patience anymore to play a whole game but i would probably pick uh risk or
monopoly or stratego if you're allowed a like a one-on-one game boy if i'm
really allowed my choices i'm really allowed my druthers i might say could we just play cards
instead i think that's a fair uh i think if i really had a choice if they said pick a board
game and i'm not even that much of a cards guy but i would rather play cards what about settlers
of katan didn't you guys play that's I was going to say probably the last board game I actually played.
And I had some roommates that loved it and thought it was fun.
And I can see how people would like it.
I'm just not much of the board game type.
It's,
it's fun.
I still don't think it'd be my first choice.
If you have made me pick a board game though.
I loved board games growing up,
even through like my,
probably my age.
I didn't do,
I just kind of, I don't know.
I guess you get old and don't like to do stuff that used to be fun.
Lose patience for things.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Big Joe says, is there any chance the Lift Shorts 2.0 come back?
For anyone that doesn't know, you better explain the Lift Shorts 2.0
for anyone that hasn't know what you better explain the lift shorts 2.0 for anyone that
hasn't been around very long so the lift shorts 2.0 boy do those date back four years maybe three
years oh i bet they're i know we had them i bet they're 2019 all right is when we were four years
yeah i would say 2019 uh they were sweat pant type material so they were cloth
instead of uh a mesh or silk type polyester material so it was a sweat pants material
they were black they had pockets i believe they also had just like a sweat pants drawstring too
didn't they yep it's been so long since i've flat drawstring so long since i've worn mine i can't even think about
and then it had the the infamous lift logo down the left side of the left leg
and he said my balls are sweating just thinking they are very they are uh cool weather shorts
yeah they are not a hot they're a toastier item for sure like we said
there is a certain temperature that they're right for actually though like if it's you're like i'd
like to wear shorts it's a little cool out though like these would be the shorts to wear which is
the temperature that it typically is year-round in western northeast south dakota so it works out
good there but uh yeah that was we had the white the full lift logo the full thing all of it in white on the left
side of the left leg and uh oh no not not really actually it was just on the left thigh actually
yeah yeah those were the those are the lift shorts 2.0s um just being you know the current state of
things with everything going on probably not the front runner well not that logo obviously so yeah
not that logo but then it's like well could we do something else on there i just i don't know if
those are we do have some people advocating for them in the discord right now but i don't know
overall if that style is as popular as it was five years ago i would say it's less popular i mean
people don't like them are still gonna like them but they are you. They're saying in here they're a lounging shark,
and that's how I would describe them.
They are perfect for lounging where it's your own risk for exercising.
Yeah.
Never say never, though.
Big J. Roy, John Roy, but not the –
this isn't the Western Northeast South Dakota John Roy.
This is the other one.
He says, go to food to gain weight before a meat.
I've never been like a one specific food guy. Like if I need to gain weight, my whole thing is I'll
just eat anything and everything. Like it's not, I don't just eat the same. I've never been the
person that wants to eat like breakfast. I put as a little bit of an exception
because that kind of is the same thing. But after that, I'm never just like, oh, I eat this one
thing all day, every day. And I've gained 20 pounds doing it. Like I've, from when I started
lifting, I weighed about 170 pounds. My heaviest ever was 230. So I like over the process of
lifting gained like 60 pounds. And it was never from like, oh, this is my go-to. I just ate more
of everything to me. That was the easiest way to do it just eat more of everything that's kind of the truth to me too although if you were to say
all right you need to gain 10 more pounds in the next specific specific period of time and
you know it's for the lifting goals and stuff i would um i would just add in shakes probably
because it'd be really easy that's probably easiest but at the same time you know i would do whatever portions i'm eating for dinner that night i just eat a
little bit much of it that's right yeah that's what i've always done like oh i need to i need
to gain more all right here's my normal portion it's 50 bigger like that's to me always the easiest
thing to do i eat a lot of eggs obviously if you watch our last youtube video watch our last
youtube was that our last youtube video yeah i think so yeah give that a watch and you'll see my breakfast my same breakfast
i eat every single morning it's like 1200 calories six eggs and um i do think you know and tommy and
we've talked about this before i do think you know a lot of times there's people you call themselves
maybe hard gainers or people that have tried to gain weight and they struggle to i still don't think they'll understand it that's i think if you watch like watch that video like
realistically watch it and like eat that once just eat that once and you're gonna be like oh
fuck there's people like that's what they're eating and not i'm not saying like everybody
needs to not eat i mean i'm the example here but it's because it's
convenient recent example but like uh yeah i think i've told this story before like i i did just say
when i started getting i mean i lifted weights in high school i'd you know played sports so it
wasn't like i had no athletic background but when i started like getting into just weight training
when i was probably 22 ish i weighed 170 170, 175 pounds right around there. And all right,
you lift after a little while and you realize like, I got to get bigger. And I did kind of
think like, oh, I just can't really gain weight. Like I don't, you know, it's hard for me to get
stronger. It's hard for me to gain weight. I'm just a naturally skinny person. I'm six,
175 pounds until I remember you telling me how much you eat. And then that's when it was like, Oh,
you mean this bowl of cereal and a piece of toast for breakfast?
Right.
Get me bigger.
Right.
And it's not like,
Oh no,
no.
I eat one egg for breakfast.
Oh,
I eat two eggs for breakfast.
It's like,
no,
eat like eight eggs for breakfast along with a whole bunch of other shit.
And then you can,
then when you do that for like six months,
then you can decide if you don't
gain weight or not right yeah he's got some good pictures of me in the discord here that would be
me that picture yeah i probably had 175 in that picture yeah that's a good white pants that was
in vegas tropicana they're like grand reopening it a white party, so I had to get some white clothes.
Oh, just wait.
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
Oh, I didn't say what happened.
I just said where I was.
Favorite.
This is from John again.
Favorite food to have while drinking brewskis.
Well, does that mean at the bar or just if I'm sitting with a beer, what I want to eat?
Yeah.
Like wings and pizza pair pretty good with beer.
No, I think he's saying favorite pairing with beer.
Favorite food item to pair with a beer.
To me, like wings and beer.
If I could go out and have wings and beer, that's a pretty good pairing to me like wings and beer if i could go out and have wings and beer that's a pretty good pairing
to me right there i'm not a huge food with my beer guy yeah and i would actually pick um like
i think wings is a really fair response but then when i think about it there's actually
like five other things i'd choose to drink with my wings before beer like so everything's kind of good with wings because i like wings
i would almost just i don't know maybe like a little salty snack you know like popcorn
yeah i don't like popcorn oh god i could eat i would say like peanuts at loggers
yeah you know like yeah i get that one too. I would maybe for sure.
Like, well, there's a reason bars put it out, but you don't like pop.
I could eat just like barrels, like buckets of popcorn.
I could go crazy on popcorn.
Oh, we went popcorn and chips are in my same category where I, uh, they never did anything
for me.
I just don't really like, that's not one I don't eat for health reasons.
I'm just like, I just actually don't really like that's not one i don't eat for health reasons i'm just like i just actually don't really care like it doesn't like corn i could just sit and eat popcorn i don't and
i don't even i don't know i don't like crave it that bad but when it's there i'm like i just have
to eat all this we were at the fair here in town not that long ago a week or two ago you get the
big i know this isn't exactly popcorn but the big tall bag of kettle corn i like the entire i eat
almost the whole thing of it.
I don't even know.
You mean the sweet kettle?
Yeah.
And that's a little,
I would rather eat that than regular.
Oh,
I'd actually,
that's I'd be torn there.
I would rather eat like covered in caramel.
I guess caramel.
No,
no,
no.
Caramel corn is probably my least favorite caramel or cheesy stuff.
I don't like that as much.
Just butter.
I don't really like any of them.
Salty,
buttery popcorn or kettle corn,
man.
Oh,
so good. So your answer is wings though though is that what you're going with i guess i'll say nuts
but i'd rather not i'd rather just keep them separate uh any bluey related shirts coming i'm
guessing everyone's kids uh watch that show I've actually never seen Bluey,
and I don't think any of my kids watch Bluey,
so I don't really know much about it.
I mean, I'm aware of what it is,
but I've never really seen it.
Yeah, I've seen like every episode of Bluey
probably like 10 times.
But no, I don't think there's any
Bluey-related merchandise coming.
But it is a very popular kid's show.
Noted about that.
This is good.
From one-armed Hercules.
Over or under, lifting with two arms.
This is one-armed Hercules.
You know, he only gets to lift with one arm.
I mean, he's got a second faux arm that he uses to help him lift.
You know, it depends on who you ask.
Some people might say one-arm training is probably underrated,
you know, hitting one side at a time.
But I always prefer to do any exercise where I can use both arms at the same time,
just because it's faster, if anything.
It cuts the time in half, you know?
Yeah, I don't want to rub it in his face.
I know.
But I would say the two-arm lifting is pretty underrated.
Yeah.
Yeah, great question, though.
Very well played.
Give him a hand.
Good question.
This is from Lizzical,
and they say,
why isn't it called Massalogics?
Massalogics.
Well, that would just be stupid It called massologics. Massologics. Hmm.
Well, that would just be stupid to call it massologics.
What a terrible name.
What a dumb name.
What is that, like mass and something else?
Two words together?
Obviously, it doesn't have the same ring to it.
You just say it out loud, and that one's obvious.
Yeah, it ain't.
It ain't because it ain't.
It ain't because it ain't.
Next one, will there be a visit to Red Robin while in Ohio?
I can personally confirm a location.
Based on that comment, you know, I'm 100% skeptical that this person is in on it.
I can personally confirm a location, so I'm not trusting anything that they have to say i wouldn't and if we're gonna go out of our way to find a place it's gonna be waffle house yeah way before yeah the supposed red some made up red robin yeah
next from tj collins what do you say here if you could take one piece of knowledge
back to when y'all started, what would it be?
Hmm.
I guess, are we talking about massonomics or lifting?
That's actually a good question there.
It's probably one of those two things.
I could actually name two things right now.
To go back to lifting, I would say, uh, get,
get on more of a juggernaut type program way,
way earlier.
I really do think I really do think I left a lot of gains on my,
in my,
in my twenties out there by not having a program like that.
I think,
I think there would have been a lot.
Not that I,
not that things weren't going good for me,
but I think that I,
things could have been going even better for a while there if I had some
different programming.
And then from a massonomic standpoint,
if I could have changed anything or told us to do anything different,
there's not many things I could actually say to do different.
But the one I would say is what we're doing with YouTube right now,
man,
if we would have started doing that,
like in 2017 or 2018.
Well, we did.
I did technically start doing that in 2014.
No, I know.
I know.
I know.
But if we did it.
It's just that we didn't.
We dropped it.
Yes.
If we did this like we were doing then, I think like we'd be getting a lot of.
I mean, we're still happy with how it's going, but I think like YouTube would be getting a lot of traction just because those were the early days for sure.
I agree with the youtube thing for sure
i think that's uh that's for sure the case um for lifting that's really hard i don't know if i would
even change anything honestly i'm just like ah well part part of it is what would be the cheesy
thing like that's the journey of like uh and that's doing it too yes 100 like mine is just
having hindsight 2020 right it's like oh well just having hindsight 2020. Right.
It's like,
Oh,
well I could have optimized things if I would have done this,
but also at the same time,
like,
well,
it is kind of good for someone to go through a phase of like hitting their
head against the wall because all right,
then you actually go through the suck of it and,
and you have to learn other ways to get better.
And,
but in a perfect optimized world,
probably,
I mean, that's anyone though who who had optimized
training their entire right you know right yeah you don't know at the start um
from the strongest man in history oh do you know what the trolley problem is
are you aware of the trolley problem i'll read what he says i guess i know what this
is anyways but it says do you let the trolley go and kill five people or switch the track and kill
one who wouldn't die otherwise so there's five people tied up on the track the trolley we'll
say a train we're in the hub city i don't know who the hell's around trolleys all the time it's a
freaking train i don't know it's a trolley problemlleys all the time. It's a freaking train. I don't know why it's a trolley problem. It should be a train problem.
But there's five people on the track tied up right now.
If you do nothing, those five people are going to get run over.
You have the ability to run over and switch, pull the switch,
to divert the train to the other track where there's just one person tied up.
I mean, my thing, and I'm aware of this, but I for sure, like,
I think the obvious answer is, like, there's so many other variables here that you don't know.
There are.
That, like, that's the answer is, like, I need to know more information to make an, like, I want to make an informed decision on that.
But I guess if you're asked, what are you going to do if you don't get to know anything else about it?
Do you flip the switch or not then?
So I try to think of it in this, like, let's say I'm blindfolded and I'm just,
I have no idea where I'm at. My blindfolds, I've been drugged. I don't know what's going on. I'm
coming to my senses and I wake up in the middle of probably Western South Dakota, West river.
You know, there's no one around me for hundreds of miles
and i see there's a train coming and i look and just down the track i can see five people tied
to one and another person tied to another honestly you know what i'm probably gonna do
nothing at all i'm probably just gonna sit there and be like i don't even know what's happening
right right right um i would have have a really hard time flipping that switch
because then your action is causing...
Your action is causing...
Are we recording now?
Well, I'm...
I think I told you I sent my recording monitor off
and I'm recording to my card.
I had no idea how much it would take up
and it did fill up my entire card
so i guess i just want to go now to zoom for the last bit okay okay um yeah i would lean towards
not doing it because then you don't you know you're not making that conscious decision but
also some people would actually that some people would argue that no action is a choice oh it is a choice you know like it should be like really
okay if you just someone just popped you down somewhere in those train oh i wouldn't i'm not
gonna start pulling levers and all that no i'm not touching any of that no no no because you
don't know what's because you're like who are these five people and who is that person but if
someone pops me down and says oh you have to decide pull the lever well now all of a sudden
i'm thinking well you're to give me some context.
Do I get answers on to as to who these people are and what they did?
Can I at least ask like three questions here?
Yeah.
It's an interesting discussion though.
Big Paul Foss from Crew Falls.
Did anyone ever figure out if Big Bryce made weight?
crew falls did anyone ever figure out if big bryce made weight uh yeah we had quite a bit of discussion with uh the perfect little sweetie big bryce and i think he did just make it into the
super heavyweight class so just barely was happy that he made weight good good uh big bryce is a
mountain of a man i guess you have to understand that to get the humor in that question. I call him the beast from the southeast, I've heard.
He's like 6 feet 17 inches
tall.
Like one of the tallest powerlifters.
Yeah, he's like one of the tallest powerlifters
that you've ever seen.
Yes.
Big Andrew.
Big Andrew Baker.
What's the most impressive animal
you could kill with your
bare hands?
I'm not one of those crazy people that has these delusions of grandeur about how strong I am against creatures of nature.
So I'm not going to go out on too much of a limb here.
But I could for sure kill a chicken and things like
that if i get my hands on it you know i can know i can do that um so what do you say though what
most impressive animal you could kill impressive animal see the thing about animals is you got to
catch them you know that's not exactly easy to catch them.
And then once you catch them,
most mammals are going to be relatively tough to kill with your bare hands
because they have necks that are larger
than you would expect.
I guess maybe you could choke them out.
I don't know.
I'm having a hard time thinking of answers here
in this one, Tanner.
Yeah, I don't love killing animals.
That's also not high on my priority list of something I want to do
here's my thing I grew up doing a lot of pheasant hunting and deer hunting I don't really do either
anymore I didn't do much waterfowl hunting a little bit of that but those would be the big
things you hunt around here and um I don't have anything against it I like I actually enjoyed it
at the time but um and I have absolutely nothing wrong with hunting. I appreciate it.
And, uh, for people that are into it, especially if you do it responsibly and you do it for
the right, you know, you're not, uh, not, I mean, you're doing it for the right reasons,
whatever you want to say, I'm all for it.
Um, but I don't really like killing animals all that much.
It's just something that's changed in me over the years.
I would say is just not my particular cup of tea.
It's not to say I would never go hunting with certain things, but I don't love it, I guess.
I don't love it.
We've actually talked about this before, I think on the way to the Arnold.
We were both basically saying the same thing without ever talking to each other about it before.
We kind of came to the same conclusion i was like yeah you know i used to want to like really because i i basically my extent of hunting
is pheasant hunting and it's yeah it's fun now hunting has turned into such a rich man's sport
that it's kind of ridiculous in a way right that's true too which i don't think a lot of hunters want
to admit that that you know it's this american tradition that essentially uh
yeah you either have to be very well connected and know people or spend a ton of money or just
really play the the game of odds and hope you get lucky but right i don't think they want to admit
how much the sport has changed maybe in the last 50 years but uh yeah i i used to always really
want to kill a deer shoot a deer and then somewhere then somewhere along the line, I'm just like, nah,
I'm good.
Someone else can do that.
And then I'll just eat it myself.
That's I'm thankful.
I don't even want to eat it either.
I'm thankful for the people that,
yeah,
exactly.
And I'm thankful for the people that do it and share it with me so I can
have it.
But yeah,
it's not super high on my priority list of things that I feel like I need
to do or even want to do either.
No problem with people that do it though.
Totally.
Totally for being a hunter. You want to be a hunter problem with people that do it though totally totally for
being a hunter you want to be a hunter yep you go out there i 100 get it oh man going out with the
boys just in nature all day rush and leaving all the worries of life behind man it's like
straight up vacation i really even as we've been talking i've been thinking about what would be the
most impressive animal i could kill with my bare hands though and i'm just not sure that's a tough tough question like i know i could get a
chicken i just don't know what that's not very impressive though i'm trying to think of like
animals or a man obviously animals of mammals like what you said though of different mammals that like
where do you go up you're not gonna there are you really gonna attempt to kill a raccoon or a fox
with your bare hands well i don't want rabies, first of all.
So that's why you're not going to mess.
So no, I would not.
I do think I could.
I could grab, if it's life or death for me, yeah, I could snap a raccoon's neck.
How much collateral damage are you picking up along the way?
Right, right.
So there's that.
Coyote, I want nothing to do with that.
No. right right so there's that uh coyote i want nothing to do with that no hmm maybe you got to give that some more thought uh this is from freedom fitness equipment at what point will duffin take over not only the podcast
but all of the sponsorship positions he is working on that one by one slowly slowly working on that and speaking of that we
should probably read some ads huh well speaking of that speaking of that are you tired of supplements
that just don't work you take them you wait a few minutes or maybe an hour or two and feel
absolutely nothing most supplements are underdosed they containers, cost-cutting compounds, and proprietary blends, which are all
aimed to confuse an inconvenient truth. They just don't work. Well, maybe it's not your fault you

Yeah.
Big Dave from North Dakota,
meat director of the classic Lift Hard, Live Easy meat.
Any chance of seeing the Lift Silkies return?
Pretty please.
There is, if you know the right people,
there's some XL and 2Xx around like very very few but
there's a few left of those and i suppose if you really know the right people there are other sizes
around but you might have to be getting a used pair you might actually get those from people yeah
um yeah then again probably not lift silk yes i was gonna say silkies could possibly make a return
someday probably not lift silkies, though.
It would probably be something else.
I don't even know that silkies are high on the list.
You know, I see some of the guys at the meet wearing silkies.
They're, I will say, maybe not quite as tall as us.
And I think, hey, those don't actually look that short.
Yeah.
And then I remember, oh, once you hit a certain height,
silkies just can look very tiny no matter
what yes big ben from the gym says who's your favorite guest ever that you ever had and who
are you hoping most to have on favorite guest ever always an impossible to answer that's what
we get asked that question a lot and i don't it's never i never have a real i never have a
good answer for it i don't either i would hate to even say it because i just don't even have a good
answer yeah there's definitely people my favorite is the next one that we're gonna have being
completely honest like there's people that i've enjoyed having on the podcast more than others
yeah but that's a fairly large pool i have a hard time saying like one over another. We've
never had a guest that's like blowing me away. Like, Whoa, I wasn't expecting that at all.
That's great. Like we've never, and partly because we don't take people to these profound
places, you know, we're just having a silly time with them. So people might have these really
profound statements, but we usually don't get to that point with them because that's not where we
steer them.
So,
um,
yeah,
I don't know.
We've had a lot of really good guests.
What was the other part of the question though?
Uh,
who would you,
who are you hoping most to have on?
I'd love to have Brock Lesnar on someday.
I think that'd be really cool.
He's high on my list too.
That's if you're going to say someone that's probably probably up there too not just because he's a famous wrestler but because
a famous wrestler with the western northeast south dakota tie-in then like that's what's
gonna that's what would really make it an interesting fun conversation for us because
you get it i mean it'd be cool to have on the undertaker stone cold steve austin goldberg
you name a wrestler the The Rock, whatever.
Of course, those are all big, cool achievements.
But Brock Lesnar's different because he's from here.
He's got that tie-in.
And he is also a freak, too.
Right, right, yeah.
If I had to put someone on the short list of people I'd like to see,
he'd be hard to not have him at the top
i guess if i had to name two more i'd probably say like arnold or like brian shaw would both be
way up there too sure arnold i guess you know like that's the pinnacle of this industry i suppose
you know and like very unattainable and non-realistic yeah or i mean if we're just
completely making up yeah yeah if you're just completely making up. Yeah.
Yeah.
If you're just completely making up completely unrealistic people to have on, it's like, I don't know.
Yeah.
Arnold, Michael Jordan.
Who would be.
Why stop there?
Right.
You know, I guess.
Yeah.
Some high ranking political people.
Well,
not,
I don't even want to talk to them actually.
Just,
you know,
just to throw people a curve ball.
Like,
why is this person on this show?
What's going on here?
And force them to not talk at all about politics.
Like,
and don't even acknowledge politics.
Don't let them even go there.
Um, that one of the Davidsmmy donate his hair to sick kids if you get to 50 000 followers on instagram no that might not be very long because that's
gonna happen soon yeah we really actually never know it could insert yeah could flip the switch
i don't know if we talked about it but like like a month ago, we had our like largest growth on that in several years.
We had more growth in one month than we had
in like eight month periods of time before.
For almost like no reason.
Honestly, there's a lot of posts that were like days,
if not weeks old even.
Yes. Oh, it's still uh our instagram feed like if you scroll down it it's mostly comments about uh heather connor
deadlifting like that's still the like that's post is months like a couple months old uh it has like
the one post has like 10 000 comments now it's now. It's just comment after comment on people.
You know, it's like we have several videos now
that went up to like three and four million views
and they just, they don't stop.
And it's just like mind numbing comments.
Like you can't, I don't, I can't even,
whenever I see it's that post,
I don't even, any of those posts,
I don't acknowledge what the comment even is.
Like I do not read what the comment is.
I actually, it was probably a week or two ago, went back and saw that post and I'm like,
damn, there's still more comments in here. That's crazy. And I didn't really bother to read them because they are all just the dumbest, most idiotic comments you'd ever see. What I thought
was fun. I can't even remember what the comment is, but on one of them, it was a funny comment.
And this was like a week after the post
i went in i i replied to the guy's comment i go wow your comment has 4 000 likes because his comment
on the post had 4 000 likes uh and then people always go and respond to that respond to me on
that comment because his comment now has like 35 000 likes so people are always like, no, it has 10,000 now. Oh, it has 50.
You know, it's like, yeah.
Yeah, it's something like that.
Like I'm kind of making up numbers, but it's in those ballparks.
It still is growing though, is the.
Yes.
Yes.
And people keep calling me out on it.
That's impressive.
Yeah.
From unpaid and underrated.
Why does Big Matt keep avoiding the unpaid and underrated podcast?
I don't know.
I fear, I
suppose, would be the most likely guess. Maybe
they need to do one of those missed connections on
Craigslist and they can link up that way.
That's a good idea.
From Big Keith,
how many times did you tell the story
about that kicked out gym member
during the Lift Hard, Leave Easy Classic?
Was it just at Pounders?
That might have been the only time
I told the story that weekend.
It got brought up, it got asked about there.
So I told it and I think Big Keith was there
and he heard the story there
and mostly squat videos, Matt was and Big Chris was.
I don't know who all, Ryan maybe was in on that.
Melissa was there.
So everyone knows that story only gets told in person
if people come to Western Northeast South Dakota.
Yeah.
Big Jackson Ginger, I believe, was right there too, wasn't it?
Yeah.
From the No Wine Cellar,
does Dante Culpepper bench more than Big Caden at the gym?
No, Big Caden benches quite a bit.
Big Caden always benches a lot.
He benches over 400 pounds.
Also in his 20s.
Yeah, Dante's not a young guy anymore.
And he's asking this because of Dante's locker and residency at Mass.
We don't talk about it a lot.
I've actually said too much.
I'm not going to say anything else about that right now. have to add a comment i do like how big alex in
the discord says still think brooks brook wells would be cool to have just to taunt tyler
does she still do is she still like uh good i think she's still a crossfitter i think every
once in a while she pops into my discover page but i don't follow her so i'm not totally up who's
the woman that always pops into my discover
page that's in crossfit uh danny spiegel yeah that one i feel like that she is like the most
the one i see the most of now this is from big evan uh since the aliens are real now
are they allowed to become crew i am all right with anyone that has at least three dollars a
month to become crew
we don't discriminate really
we discriminate on money
it comes down to two things
do you have the money and are you not an asshole
if you can fit those categories
then yeah you're in
and that could be an alien
big hook grip mark
he said will there be a regular, not trucker,
snapback hat coming back that we can't buy?
So my question, is this a trucker hat?
Doesn't a trucker hat typically have a higher profile than this?
That's what I was going to say.
A trucker hat is like our old camo lift hats.
Well, I think a lot of people...
Or do they think a mesh back hat is a trucker hat?
I don't completely agree with this definition,
but I think a lot of people consider anything with a mesh back
to be a trucker hat.
But that's not what a trucker hat is. I't necessarily say that i also say even the trucker is the profile is part and a snap
and i think the profile and the mesh and the height all make a trucker yeah but what was the
question though would would it ever um will there be a regular snapback hat that's not a trucker?
Oh.
So what would you say?
Just not a meshback snapback?
I think that's what they're asking.
It's been a while.
We used to have just the OG logo with, remember, the new era snapback?
That used to be the only massonomics hat ever.
So it was flat bill.
It was a flat bill. what i'm wondering what's
like there's not that many snapbacks that aren't a mesh back as a common hat
it's pretty yeah not not super common there
but we are there is something in the works uh by my definition it would fit
what you're talking about i don't know you know but i don't know about his
definition yeah new things coming in the hat big By my definition, it would fit what you're talking about. I don't know about his definition.
Yeah, new things coming in the hat.
Big things coming in the hat game.
Stay tuned.
For you all not to buy.
Preferably do not buy our hats.
From Big Tom Swartz, Spotter and Loader Crew.
If you could choose one restaurant to open in Aberdeen,
what would you pick?
That's an interesting question.
Well, it is because is it just what restaurant do you want or is it what restaurant do you think will be financially successful in Aberdeen?
I took it as just what do we want,
not like what restaurant do we want to open up and run ourselves.
I was guessing just like,
what are we selfishly want to,
if you could just have one in Aberdeen,
what would it be?
Right.
That really opens up.
I would maybe go a second taco Johns a little closer to my house.
Why not put it right down the street?
Um,
I know what I would pick.
Actually,
I would pick a,
because if I,
if I'm going to say this,
I'm thinking of places I actually go.
I eat out very little, so most of the time it's not that relevant.
Like I'm eating out like one meal every 10 days or something like that
or maybe one every two weeks, so I don't care.
So what I want is something I'm going to go to
and something we don't already have, which would be Chipotle.
I would say open at chipotle because then instead of
going to kidoba once a month i'll go to kidoba once every other month and go to chipotle once
every other month and it's then a little bit of variety because the flavors are slightly different
see i don't think that's a bad answer but if i had to be critical of that one i'd say it's too
similar to chipotle i want something oh it's definitely it's almost exactly the same i want
something that's more different.
I would say get a raisin canes up in there.
We're getting chicken fingers up in this biatch.
And we're going, getting that cane sauce.
I wouldn't be against that choice.
It's a little different.
Some people might say chick filet, I suppose.
Some people would probably say that.
But I think now after having them all multiple,
actually I'd be fine with any of the chicken places.
I think maybe I'd say raisin canes though.
You know, you always want that.
That's a good choice.
I'd probably, I'd be down with that if that got trumped over.
I mean,
this is assuming that people already know that, you know,
our first choice would be Applebee's and Chili's.
And then, you know, the third option on the list.
Well, people had such a huge boner over us getting a Buffalo Wild Wings for years.
That's what everyone used to talk about forever.
It's like, when are we getting a Buffalo Wild?
Oh, you mean the food that every restaurant, bar in town already does?
That's kind of my opinion.
Okay, mostly squat videos, Matt.
What's the largest dollar amount single order that you've ever received?
I can't remember the specific dollar but it's over
400 that somebody placed and i'm just talking of just like merchandise purchased from us in one
order you know we've had several over 300 uh but we have we'll have one person i think it was maybe
i don't know that we've ever broken 500 because i pay attention to that yeah um which on our store you know outside of drink spotter
the most expensive item is like a 50 sweatshirt 55 shorts maybe right you know so that's buying
a lot of items to get there you know for the most part our store is 30 t-shirts you buy a lot of 30
t-shirts to get to the 40 mark yep or the t to the 400 yeah 400 mark so
yeah that was my guess was gonna be over 400 i off the top of my head couldn't think of a 500
cart but no i think we've had we've had broken four from big jen what is the most master's thing
you have done or do on a regular basis most master's thing dude i just think i wasn't even to bring this up
because i don't like to be a downer but man monday i just felt like i'm old everything's falling
apart it was i the list was insane so we were in okoboji this past weekend oh yeah apparently i
something just bit my legs like crazy i don't remember anything ever
if you told me it was like poison ivy i'd believe it i have red spots all over my legs they itch so
bad so that's one thing so i'm already annoyed and feeling sick by that i guess i just sleep
weird so my back kind of hurts there then i go to the gym i'm so tired and lightheaded it sucks
for the first time ever in my life,
halfway through a squat, my knee started hurting. I've never had knee pain. Yeah. It lasted like
five minutes and then went away. So I was happy for that. And then I'm leaving the gym and I go
get the mail out of the mailbox and I get a paper cut from one of the envelopes on my finger. And I
was like, why? Like, what is it? Just everything sucks. And this is bad. And I was so tired after it.
So that was I felt felt very masterfully there.
Big scans did say he did remind me there was that time I fell on the ice, too.
That's a pretty master's move is to fall on the ice.
That's true.
That's true.
So those are probably my things.
Yeah.
Gosh, I don't know.
That's a that's a really really good question but a difficult question
that i'm not thinking of something readily available i would say maybe it's like the
maybe almost like the reclining in a chair and just like uh being unattentive to things you know
like i feel like that's a kind of a master's just just rest of
my eyes do there i don't know i don't have a great answer to that but i'm maybe i have to think on
that one more big jen also said one merch item you would create if you had no restrictions or consequences who asked that
question big jen that's a good that's a good question yeah um boy
you know i don't want to say i've never thought about it but if there really was
no limits and we could make anything,
what would we make?
I'm actually not sure what that would be.
I'm kind of stumped.
Do you have anything to enter?
Because there's not very many things that are like out of reach.
No.
You know, which makes it kind of hard because you've got to think of something
that for the most part, if it's out of reach,
it's because it's some financial hurdle and it'd have to be a very large financial hurdle
and if it's that large of a financial hurdle it's like oh do i ever really want to be in that game
anyways right um i'm also just trying to think of what what we haven't done and it's like well
and especially the collaborations.
Now we have a shoe.
Yeah.
You know,
there is a massonomic shoe.
Cause that could have been an answer,
an answer potentially.
Like honestly,
at one point,
if you would have said a massonomics barbell,
I probably would have said,
oh,
that's really cool.
Um,
I think if we wanted to do when we could,
we kind of,
we kind of know the,
uh,
we have some connections there where we could do it and we're not pursuing it
because we don't really feel like it.
So it's right.
Right.
Uh,
I don't know.
Like making a massonomics app be cool.
I actually don't even think that'd be that cool though.
Like so many people have apps that no one really cares about.
So I don't know if I don't even,
I'm not even sure an app would really be that cool.
That's another tough question.
It does make me feel weird though,
that if I,
if someone said the sky,
there is no limit,
what would you pick?
And I don't have an answer there.
Cause a lot of things that you could say,
there's no limit and I'd have an answer for.
Right.
I don't really have one here.
I'm not sure.
Well,
it's also partly because we get to do a lot of the stuff that we want.
You know, we just like.
For the most part, if we wanted to do something, we've done it.
It's.
Right.
There's probably some things there, though, that if people would suggest that I would think, oh, yeah, that that's a good idea.
I bet if we actually went through our merchandise list, Tanner, there's probably some items in there.
But.
And we have some things that I think we're going to do soon that I'll be excited about.
But they're not like earth shattering,
but they're just different than what we've done before.
Yeah, some of the things we haven't done here,
it's like, well, it's just because we just haven't put in the effort to do it.
It's not physically possible or anything.
So, yeah, I don't know what the answer to that is.
Big Jake says, more excited for Dave Tate or Dr. Mike?
That's a tie. I'm excited for the whole trip, really. Mike. That's a tie.
I'm excited for the whole trip.
Really?
I agree.
There's a cop out answer.
I think that maybe afterwards we'll be more excited about one of them than
the other,
but right.
I'm very excited about going to elite FTS and stuff though.
So that'll be cool.
Um,
but also Dr.
Mike,
big Jake also said,
okay,
this is actually decent.
There's rarely do i see one of these
that's not that we haven't done before or whatever but yeah fuck mary kill lift shirt lift hat lift
shorts obviously we're killing lift hat yeah that was actually i knew that one right away i was just
i was already on the step two here. Yeah, so obviously everyone's killing lift hat.
I think I got to marry the lift shirt.
It's the OG.
It's the real one.
That's how I feel there.
Yeah, it's the original thing.
But lift shorts are tough because they are a cult item.
Life of their own item.
I think that's the right answer though.
I would agree with you because it's the,
the shirts,
the original thing.
Yeah.
Uh,
big Keith just says,
Oliver Anthony,
have you heard this song?
Have you,
do you know who Oliver Anthony is?
Is he's like of the top 10 downloaded iTunes song legitimately overnight. He has like eight of the top 10 downloaded iTunes song. Legitimately overnight, he has like eight of the top 10 songs.
And he has been like he went viral in less than a week.
I see this picture.
Yeah.
As soon as I see the picture of him.
Yeah.
This is on Instagram all day, every day.
This guy singing.
Of just this week, though, because like this.
This guy had like no followers and no downloads until this week, though, because this guy had no followers and no downloads until this week.
And now, of every genre of song, his songs are one, two, and three in iTunes over the last week,
which I think is kind of crazy the way that music works now.
I thought it was just an Instagram thing because that's the only place I would see it.
I didn't realize that it actually was turning into.
Oh yeah.
Music listeners.
No,
it's a,
I think everyone's after him now.
Like I'm sure he's gonna,
he's going,
I mean,
he is an over like as much as someone could be an overnight,
almost like by definition of the word,
like he woke up one night,
one day,
nobody knew who he was or cared.
And now he is like,
I mean,
still not a household name,
but like,
he's going to be,
you know,
rich and famous,
um,
overnight essentially.
But it's just,
I think it's kind of cool how music works in that way though.
Now,
how I like that.
Yeah.
How am I going to,
you can just be a good songwriter.
Yep.
And you're like,
Oh, free to break through.
Whereas right.
Uh,
Okay.
Someone sees you if you're lucky and then they'll fly you out somewhere and
then you can record some songs and then they'll put on their label.
And then like eight months later,
people might be hearing it.
Yeah.
Cause I made that meme today of Richmond,
north of Richmond.
And it was us sitting in stacks of cash.
Yes. And that's what I didn't know. That's the number one Richmond. And it was us sitting in stacks of cash. Yes.
And that's what I didn't know.
That's the number one song.
Okay.
That's the most popular one.
And it's,
um,
I think,
uh,
he's popular because it res,
it's like a 99% versus a 1% sort of thing,
you know,
like that song.
It's not actually,
I think some people hang onto it as political.
I actually looked it up.
He is,
uh,
not partisan himself.
Like he is not right-leaning even.
He just is more of like blue collar.
The have-nots and the white man.
Right, right, right, right.
And, you know, something like that can go that viral
because when 99% of the population can potentially resonate with
that,
whenever,
because everyone feels like they're getting screwed over.
Right.
Exactly.
Even rich people actually feel like they get screwed over a lot too.
That's true too.
So everyone's like,
yeah,
the man screw the man.
Right.
Big Jake,
the snake said,
maybe we already answered this craziest idea for a product that never came to
fruition or even got past the idea stage.
We have a lot of products that we just randomly throw out that never get past
the idea stage. I mean, I'm looking at our list right now. I mean,
there has to be a hundred and some ideas in here that we have not made yet.
I still really like there there's some you know wacky ideas
out there as far as a book that i think uh mass massomics book would be fun someday that hasn't
really gotten it's been drummed around the idea floor but uh sometimes you have ideas and sometimes
you have good ideas and when something's just an idea you can't really spend money on uh um you can't waste good
money on bad ideas but yeah i had remember that one idea that was parodying a certain company in
our space that i thought would be kind of funny but we thought uh it's probably best for us to
stay away from that one which one now what kind of product? Major equipment manufacturer.
Yes, yes, I do know what you're talking about.
I always thought that would be really funny, but it's like, yeah.
I do know what you're talking about.
Probably.
It probably puts too much of a target on us.
Right, right.
There is that.
Yeah, I mean, we have a lot of ideas in here that I think are funny,
and a lot of them will turn into shirts someday, but.
Yeah.
Big Keith says,
do you have the new meat picks hanging up in the gym yet?
No,
but I have been trying to figure out what I want to get from that.
I'm going to,
I want to get their group pictures hanging up in this gym,
but it's like,
how big do I get those?
You know,
can I put them together?
Do I frame them separately?
All that also like probably want to get like the meat poster frame somewhere for that to put up.
But I have a lot of things that need to get hung up in the gym
and not a lot of wall space.
One of the most precious resources.
Yeah.
Big Brand says,
Could Mastanomics ever turn into a full-time job for you guys?
We've answered that before i think uh not impossible
just gotta it would we both have good for our biggest art the biggest limiter is
we both have good jobs yeah and families and wives and kids uh so but on the flip side if
all of a sudden we have a million subscribers on youtube uh
life's looking pretty different all of a sudden because a lot of people are seeing our shit now
so yep or whatever else happens and all of a sudden we're selling four times what we're selling
now and uh i don't know if people well yeah, yeah. Okay. Your financial obligations are way different when you have a family and kids in daycare.
But I don't know if people realize how many $30 t-shirts you have to sell to like really make money.
Yeah.
It's a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot.
Yeah.
Especially when you think about the margin and not the gross sales dollars.
And then the fact that you're well paying you know you're you're
withholding or whatever on top of all that too it's yeah it's it's a lot yeah
how this is from big uh chris from rapid city south dakota how many cacti are at the house
of baird a lot i don't know the exact number it would i mean anyone that
was here saw a taste of what you're looking at and it'd be hard to put a number on it i mean it
would be physically hard to count them you would need like you need to like put them aside so you
don't get a mixed yes right yes hundreds no doubt yes definitely hundreds repeatonomics
always good for something here.
When is Larry Legend going to get called in from the bullpen for an interview?
We can make that happen someday.
The problem with him is going to be, I think Larry's a bit of an early-to-bed kind of guy.
He is.
This is a little bit of a late-night kind of show.
That's true.
It could happen, though.
I would not rule that
out uh big scant says has the buzz around the aberdeen about the lift hard live easy classic
stopped yet yeah i guess it's probably stopped it's died down finally yeah yeah there was a there
was a buzz though there definitely was a buzz and i mean it'll be something that people bring up to me for years
when they see me because that's just the way things work around here.
But I'd say, yeah, the buzz actually has died down.
What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
Hashtag has Tommy seen it?
What is that from?
I can't remember. what is that from I can't remember
what is that from is that
is that
Monty Python that's Monty Python
that's Holy Grail
yeah I've actually never really seen that movie
I've seen parts of it because it used to always
be on TV all the time but I've never seen
the whole thing yeah I knew
I'm glad that I remembered that
before having to look it up that
would have been uh not not good for me so have you seen you have you're saying no has now i've
seen it on t i mean i've seen parts of it on tv like it's one of those movies that used to be on
a lot but i've never just seen the entire thing recentonomics coming in just a couple after repeatonomics. What weighs more?
What weighs more?
Okay, so this is funny.
They're doing a callback to our What Weighs More game.
I see what's going on here.
You know, if you think back to when we used to play What Weighs More.
What Weighs More, Gen 1 podcast episodes or the Gen 2 upgrades?
what weighs more gen one podcast episodes or the gen two upgrades and i like his use of uh saying gen two upgrades yes so is it gen one and gen two or is there there's there could be more
distinctions than that even oh to me there's like a lot more distinctions than that isn't there
but if she says gen one he's saying repeat anomics time frame i think which
would be up through episode 1.4 yeah true true yeah yeah yeah um what weighs more well the uh
it's a fact gen 2 way more they're larger episodes bigger file size so uh is there a way is there a
mass to file size even digitally like in some way like
i don't know a microscopic level is there any amount maybe i suppose everything that's but
it's all isn't it all like almost like magnetic the way it all works with all that shit i don't
even know it's all electrical isn't it you're the tech guy is the but is there like to some tiniest level is a file being larger
does it actually like i don't know take up more earthly space or uh weight in any way maybe it
doesn't at all i don't i i wouldn't be surprised if it does not it's just like matter moving from
just this matter has the switch flipped on it versus i don't know but like a piece of uh hardware that
stores information like physically the bigger it gets the more it can store within reason right
assuming the same technology or not well like if you want a thousand terabyte uh piece of storage
it's gonna be bigger right well yeah but i'm just like saying well well let's just say we have a 128 gig sd card
like it's always been in there forever no matter what it's there no matter what it consumes it
doesn't change it's solid state there's no moving pieces to it but but that only holds so many
episodes that 128 gigs only holds so many episodes if you're going to frame it that way then yes i
would agree with you there. But that still is...
This is going to hold more Gen 1 episodes on it
than it would Gen 2.
Yes, yes.
So in a bit of an abstract sense,
you could say that the newer ones are heavier there.
What I was going to say,
and Keith is hinting at this,
is that the old shows did have three hosts
and the three hosts would weigh more.
Oh, okay.
That's another interesting...
Yeah, so then that's definitely Gen 1, right?
The other way I was looking at it too, though,
is I was just looking at sheer equipment
and the amount of equipment weighs significantly more now
than what it used to weigh.
That is for sure.
That's true too.
There really is a number of ways to look at that, isn't there?
I was just thinking of one,
but that cat could be skinned in a multiple of ways.
I could definitely kill a cat with my bare hands.
One of the other big Davids says,
wire update.
Oh, great.
Actually, we haven't given a good wire update in a while.
So as of now, I have not watched the wire.
I did.
I was watching the Batman trilogy again, though.
What?
That was your choice?
Jack hasn't seen Batman. Oh, he hasn't trilogy again, though. What? That was your choice? Jack hasn't seen Batman.
Oh, he hasn't.
Okay, okay.
I didn't know if you were just sitting down.
You're like, you know what?
I haven't seen Batman for a while.
I better go through these again.
No, he was trying to tell me that DC sucks and Marvel's better.
And I'm like, yeah, DC sucks, but not this Batman trilogy, DC.
Like, yeah, DC sucks, but not this Batman trilogy DC.
Like, this takes the cake over all of the...
Marvel stuff?
Yeah, like the stuff you're talking about there,
in my humble, honest opinion.
If someone made that statement,
I would have a hard time disagreeing with them.
But again, I haven't seen any of the Marvel movies,
so who am I to talk here? Have you seen theman movies oh yeah yep seen all those even the first one even the first one yep my roommate had it and he made me
watch it one time actually you know what i went to the first one in i actually went to the first
one in theaters even it's probably like 2006 yeah i was gonna say five or six five yeah okay dark night rises if you were in college
in the early 2010s that movie was on permanently in every guy's house because everyone in the house
had the dvd and it played non-stop yes expanding my home gym what equipment besides the basics racks bench cables would you get
rack bench cables i'd say i'd say barbell weights you know but that's probably maybe
they're assuming yeah i'm assuming you can do all encompassing i'm assuming you can do
like the big three already outside of that i think i'd maybe say like what do you think
you're deficient in i think maybe that's how i'd pick the next item. Yeah. I think you can get away with the basics, honestly,
for a home gym. I would totally, I would get good basics, like a good quality basics would
be more valuable to me than a wider range of tools. I would say that honestly, I'm in a
commercial gym and outside of iraq pretty much
the only things that i do that aren't in iraq require some dumbbells so i could see how maybe
some adjustable dumbbells might be nice but you can get into a really expensive hole there in a
hurry so it's hard to just say that dumbbells are the next thing there next one from big eddie he says probably missed this but i'd like
to know why you gave big eddie the best package award well just because you brought the best
package package yeah is the total package i think enough said there right i mean i think so pretty
self-explanatory i think all those rules were pretty, all those six custom awards we had were pretty cut and dry.
I don't think anyone could make a case for anyone else winning.
I don't think they left much room for interpretation.
They were fairly obvious what they were.
Yes.
And that is the cues that we gave the A's to this week on the Massanomics podcast.
That's it, huh?
That's it.
It only took us about two hours.
I filled a memory card, had to revert to Zoom.
There was a lot going on.
I would let everyone know, make sure to check out the Strength Co.
I think we brought up Grant and the Strength Co. somewhere in this episode,
but I want to formally let you know, check out thestrength.co.
You can buy their Iron made in America plates.
They're smooth but rugged.
They're black E-coated.
They look awesome.
They're the go-to plates in Mathsonomics Gym.
I don't think none of the other plates, even though I'm into some of the vintage plates,
I like the Yorks, and I still don't think aesthetically anything quite holds the candle to the e-coated strength co plates they're also very reasonably reasonably priced for what you
get there's great value there and he they reduce shipping costs so if you haven't bought plates in
a while check out what you get these shipped for it almost makes uh shipping's not free but it's
pretty about as close to free as it it gets compared to all the other major companies
that are selling plates.
And then check out their new collars that they've got.
They're black, laser-engraved Strength Co collars.
They're like the Massanomics one we had,
but those are gone.
So now you can get yourself some Strength Co ones.
Check them out at thestrength.co.
And today's episode is also brought to you by texas power bars buddy caps first started
lifting weight in the late 60s and began power lifting in the mid 70s at the time he was working
for image barbell building jimmy equipment around 1976 a local machine shop started making olympic
bars for them calling it the image bar in 1977 image barbell became champion barbell it was then
that buddy started looking at the bars
with an intent of changing them for the better.
In 1979, Buddy bought his first lathe
to be addressing the known issues.
In 1980, his passion, drive, and purpose
now had a greater mission.
Buddy set out on his own to make what he believed
was the greatest bar he'd ever seen and trained with,
and the Texas Power Bar was born.
I'm going to add in one more very important
date to this timeline and that's 2023 buddy brings about the 29 millimeter texas power bar
and blows away everyone inside massonomics gym with the best knurling and a maintenance-free bar
hundreds of state national international and world powerlifting records have been
and continue to be set and broken on the Texas Power Bar.
To learn more about them and to buy the new legend,
the 29mm Texas Power Bar,
go to www.texaspowerbars.com.
Thank you, Texas Power Bars.

and sign up for any of our various levels of supporting membership.
It's amastonomics.com slash join.
That's where you can go to get signed up.
We'd love to have you join up,
whether you buy a medium amount of merchandise from us or whether you buy a $450 order from us,
or maybe you don't like buying any merchandise from us. You just like any of those merchandise.
Yeah, you can still become a supporting member. We'd love to have you. It's probably like,
you know, it's definitely in our top 10 list of
things we could have you do to support masonomics i'll write up it's right up there along with like
comment subscribe we would have you say get a supporting membership um and then each week we
give back to them you know they get their discount code all that stuff uh access to early early info
on drops everything else but then shouting them out on the podcast.
And this week we had Big Quinn.
He said he had his first mock meet today,
and he's eight months post-op from a full hip replacement.
And he had goals of hitting a 185 squat, a 295 bench, and a 225 deadlift.
Well, he blew those all out of the water he ended up
hitting a 245 squat a 300 bench and a 315 deadlift and i would say post op from a full hip replacement
surgery in less than 12 months that's uh quite the accomplishment that's a hashtag road to recovery
right there that is hashtag road to recovery prs. Then we had Big Catfish.
He got second place in his heavyweight novice strongman competition.
It was Alabama's strongest.
So congrats on the second place, Big Catfish.
Then we had Big Scantz completing his month-long strength sport gamut
where he started it off here by powerlifting
at the Lift Heart of the EVZ Cossack,
following up the following week by competing in Highland Games,
and then this last weekend,
the third variation of strength competition in one month,
which that's quite impressive.
I've done all three in a summer,
but never in one month.
That takes time to get to that level. That's wild. I've done all three in a summer, but never in one month.
That's wild.
It takes time to get to that level.
That's wild.
And he got first place in the lightweight Masters class, of course Masters.
And then Big Dan took his arm tattoos to a strongman competition.
He brought his arm tattoos along with his Crocs.
Competing in Crocs, an excellent footwear choice for a strongman competition.
He finished second out of 10 and qualified for nationals.
Good work.
Also, they did a fridge yoke carry,
which always looks cool with the refrigerators on each side of the yoke.
Yes, it does.
Are the fridges filled with pea gravel or just regular fridge i think sand i mean these
people aren't psychopaths yeah they're not totally unhinged uh big mike benner
hit a new baby pr or new babies the new babies just keep popping out everywhere in the crew
yeah and speaking around these parts.
No kidding.
You just get people pregnant spontaneously.
Speaking of crew, then,
Big Colton was on this week's episode of Unpaid and Underrated,
another Crew Falls crew member.
We really do have a very strong presence down here, don't we?
It is.
Strong and growing, I think.
We've got a really strong
sioux falls crew member contingency might have to do like a in-state sioux falls versus aberdeen
competition of some kind one of these days that's true we probably still have quite a few more in
aberdeen just because there's so many gym members that are actually um crew members yeah well mason
that's actually a double whammy because he left Aberdeen and went to Sioux Falls.
So that's a two-person flip when that happens.
That's a swing.
Yeah.
Huh.
Might have to do some adding up.
Yeah.
Might have to get Larry to join up.
I have to think about that.
Yeah.
Okay. So thank you to get Larry to join up. I have to think about that. Okay.
So thank you to our supporting members. We'd love
for you to get signed up also if you're
ever interested in doing something like that.
We'd love to have you in the crew. I think you'll have
fun. There's a whole community of like
minded individuals that
like to have a good time. Also you could leave
us a five star review on Apple Podcasts.
Got to start asking for those
again someday because I forgot what it's like to ask for those things.
The thing about the five-star reviews on Apple Podcasts,
you don't get them if you don't ask for them.
I've noticed that.
Yeah, that's very true.
You got to ask for them.
You got to beg people for them, actually, to get them,
and then they start coming.
You start guilting people into leaving a five-star podcast review,
and then they start doing it.
What else we got?
Stay tuned for our drop coming later towards the end of this month.
Got a couple special things in there.
Yep, next week.
Oh, anything else, Tommy?
I do got to say one thing.
I forgot about this until just moments ago.
So I did go to, I mentioned earlier, I did go to Okoboji this past weekend.
Was it fun overall?
It is.
I'm kind of a lake guy at heart.
So anytime I can be on a lake and the weather's nice,
I mean, that's kind of my element.
I love it.
And luckily we had two amazing lake days while we were there.
So it was great.
Everything was fun.
The kids had a good time. It was good temps. Temps, oh, it was great everything was fun the kids had a good time it was good temps
temps i was like 86 and basically no breeze both days like you can't hardly beat that
so were you on like a boat and stuff on the way yeah one day we rented a pontoon the one day so
we had that and then the like resort we stayed at has a beach out front so then you can play there
the rest of the time but um have you ever been to
okoboji i can't remember if i've seen this i've been there one time i think uh and not in like
a meaningful way so no i don't i really don't i don't i know almost nothing about it okay so it
is it is a really big lake like there's clearly a lot of money there a lot of people with way too
much money there like it's obvious just with the boats going around too uh but there is one part of it it's called arnold's park and they
have like this amusement park which um i mean to be fair like that whole area they've developed it
a ton and it's very very nice uh more for kids for sure but they have like they have a full wooden
roller coaster there but like my kid my boy loved it he had all these rides to go on it's basically like a fair you know he has all these rides to go on he thought it was great and um in that same area where this is they have
this is right on the lake they they built this big like permanent stage and they have musical
acts there all the time and we're standing there and it said the musical act was l king and i read
that it's le king is how i would read it but it's Elle King is how you pronounce it I'm like no idea who that is so go on Spotify and type it in are you familiar with
the name at all no I don't think so so the song she has it's uh um drunk and I don't want to go
home it's like with Miranda Lambert you'd know what if you heard I've heard like all the time
yeah there's the X's and the uh uh uh uh oh it's like
she has these two big songs like you kind of sound familiar you probably know both of them
yeah yeah i guarantee i've heard them yes but i'm sure you know both of them so like oh damn
kind of know who this person is and um my wife's sister goes yeah i think her dad's like really
famous i'm like okay who's her dad i always want to know the behind the scenes of who right you know who
her dad is her dad is in fact famous he's not a musician her dad named king it's not king either
that's what I was so I was going for him like what famous king right that's what I was trying
to think of her dad Rob Schneider Rob Schneider is father to a musician so we start laughing about that how could that be
i i don't even get i don't get it and she has the most country like bluesy sounding voice yeah and
my wife is just like why does her voice sound like that she says she's from ohio and her dad's
rob schneider she should not sound like that yeah you would think that she like grew up in the
south in the freaking 20s the way she talks but um so that was funny but then uh my wife's sister
she goes what is what is Rob saying that one movie doesn't he say something about being Jessica and I
go it's me Jessica we were talking about that on the podcast when i think when
jessica bittner was on i'm like yes i love that line that's one of my one of my favorite rob
schneider lines yes jessica from the hot chick rob schneider is the hot chick
rob schneider is a stapler yeah so rob was rob there i didn't see him unfortunately so was there like a lot of people
that sounds like a concert oh it's free it's it's free it's a free concert on the lake and
they kind of have a little bit of a i wouldn't say it's a bowl but it's like a hill that it's on
i mean if i had to guess there there was probably 6,000 people there.
Oh, okay.
So there was a lot of people.
Oh, a ton of people.
It wasn't like there was like 500 people there.
Oh, my God.
It was so many people.
It was so many people in there.
And then like the whole carnival thing is like open at night too.
So when we left that, we started walking.
Well, and then it's on the lake and you look and I don't know,
there's probably a hundred boats parked on the lake watching it too right because the stage is no lie probably 50 feet from
the water's edge so the lake is completely full of boats then you go behind the stages where the
carnival thing is the the amusement park and that's just full of people too like damn this is
a crazy place right now that you don't even hardly know exists yeah that's cool so yeah it
was a it was a fun experience that's good stuff and now then it's back to back to the office after
that though that's right back to reality yeah i just think about rob schneider even more now
that's that's really that's really, that's really odd.
That's such an odd,
uh,
I would never in a minute.
If you gave me a million guesses,
I wouldn't guess when he said that is her dad is Rob Schneider.
At first when I read that,
I'm like,
I know the name Rob Schneider,
but that can't be Rob Schneider.
It doesn't make any sense,
but it is the way it is.
All right.
Uh, more on Rob Schneider next week on episode three,
86 of the Massonomics podcast
Tommy where do they
