two hosts are here again for those of you that haven't been here for very long maybe you don't
know my name is tanner and to my left is i am tommy yeah we've we've both been here for 184
episodes now going strong 184 and i don't know if we've ever been here for 184 episodes now, going strong.
184, and I don't know if we've ever looked as good as we look for episode 184.
That's a good point.
What do you mean?
What do you mean?
Well, for those of you that aren't watching, the apparel game over here is getting pretty strong.
It's really, really, really going to attract some attention with these te've been we've been teasing these tees for a few weeks and it just so happens that we're also matching
tonight too taylor we are it's it's new t-shirt day so it's that's kind of matching day you know
yeah normally we try and avoid it but on new t-shirt day it's just you and the boys you all
got to match when it's new t-shirt day you know let everyone know you're on the same page we
actually had two brand new t-shirts come out but the one maybe next week we'll get to match yeah that's that's right
uh we have two we can do it two weeks in a row but this one that we're wearing is the
like i guess we call it the bench in 315 shirt and um on the front it says bench in 3 colon
15 not semi-colon just a regular colon for those that don't know the difference i don't know
if everyone knows and on the back you can't see it because we're sitting on our butts right now but
there is an enormous skull that covers almost the entire back of the shirt with the uh massonomics
logo stamped right into the right into the brain yeah yeah it's pretty sweet yeah it's uh it's our
first skull first skull we ever put on a shirt that's pretty good i mean It's pretty sweet. Yeah. It's our first skull. First skull we ever put on a shirt.
That's pretty good.
I mean, that's pretty crazy to be running a T-shirt.
Yeah, we've had about 20 powerlifting shirts and no skulls.
For a T-shirt that markets to powerlifters, strongmen, and people like that,
and to not have a skull, that's got to be some type of record.
We were saving the skull for something special, and I think we did just that.
So maybe we'll start pumping out some more now.
Yeah.
Watch out, Frank, over at Lift Evil.
Watch out, Lift Evil.
We're coming for you.
We're kind of the black shirt skull guys now.
Yep.
It's our territory.
Yeah.
I was excited.
I had been antsy about getting this one out for a while,
so I was happy when we finally got to release it to the world.
And we've been shipping a bunch of them out, those are starting to uh land at their final home so there's probably
some listeners right now that have theirs already again i we've we've talked before about how we have
fast shipping but the fact that like we're sending orders on monday and people across the country are
getting them today which is a people across the country we're getting them before you got yours
yeah like yes like i live like a mile away yeah there's people a Wednesday. People across the country were getting them before you got yours. Yeah. I live like a mile away.
There's people on the other side of the country that got the shirt before me.
Yeah, I've kind of missed out on that.
A couple of the local guys had to come and get them the day that they had to come pick them up immediately.
I was wondering that too.
Like, damn, how did they get the pre-release?
And then I realized, oh, yeah, they just talked to Tanner talked to tanner yes but the other shirt i'll hold it up
here and uh if you're a fan of us i'd like had 99 chance you've already seen this would be the
crispy boy shirt and uh another one looking fly black print some white cans with our various logos
on them yeah and i think you'll know what that is i really like the uh the way the crispy
boys the crispy boys one turned out too yeah it's yeah i'm a big fan of both yeah and you know i
just saw these for the first time like 10 minutes ago and the crispy boys ones also has the mass
dynamics plate on the back of it uh the plate yes i forgot about that too yeah it's kind of a it's kind of an extra touch
yeah um a few people have asked about the crispy boys not being a full six pack
and we said well there's actually a reason for yeah there is a reason for that and you explain
it to her yeah it's because i have to remember what the reason is but it's because it's uh
most of us are never going to actually get a six-pack, so why not enjoy this five-pack?
Yep.
But it is the Lift.
What's our five-pack?
The Lift, the Deadlifter, the Buddy Light, or Yeah Buddy,
the Bench Heavy, and the Huge Life.
Five-pack of Crispy Boys.
It's almost like we planned it that way.
But, yeah, those are two big releases for us.
I'm a big fan of both of them yep and uh i
think we're keeping i think we're keeping our our standard pretty high we are um we are you know
with that crispy boys one certainly fits the mold uh but i think sometimes maybe we get typecast as
the beer shirt guys is this a beer shirt well that's the thing it's like almost in that realm
yeah just because of what's associated with it's like almost in that realm yeah just because of
what's associated with it yeah it's but it's not just straight up front it's more of uh you have
to dig a little deeper to consider this a beer shirt yeah i mean it's a bent shirt yeah right
right so this is more of a this would you call this more of a bench shirt than a beer shirt oh
absolutely absolutely yes but we have we have been as far as non-beer shirts go,
we probably have more than people realize now.
If I call this not a beer shirt, because it's not our beer parody shirts.
It's not a beer shirt, no.
The Don't Curl in Me, which we have the flag behind me,
very much not a beer shirt.
The Jefferson Deadlift shirt.
Yep.
And then, of course, our OG shirts and stuff.
But there's three of our...
We got the eagle hoodie
yeah this is still a pretty hot seller yes but three of our most recent shirts and some of the
more popular ones have now not been just we're not just the beer shirt guys anymore we're not
a one we're not just the blue beer shirt guys anymore we still are those guys but we're not
just those guys we can still be those guys yeah someone's got to fill that void we'll be your
huckleberry yep that, that's us.
Before we get too far here, Tanner, I want us to stay refreshed.
So let me reach over for what's in that can.
What's in the can.
And for listeners out there that want to get involved in what's in the can,
you are certainly welcome to mail us cans.
People have done that before.
DM either me or Tanner, and we'll give you an address yes whoever you want to surprise i guess
you'll do the other one and it can be non-alcoholic it can be alcoholic it can be
sugar-free not sugar-free uh caffeinated non-caffeinated yep uh tanner i don't want you
to look at the can this week at all so keep your eyes forward okay uh the tab is pointed straight out
in front of you okay so we're just gonna get not we're gonna get right to it whatsoever
why don't you go off a first smell all right
it doesn't smell like anything
can i have my thumb and bite my...
No, it just smells like my hand.
I honestly doesn't smell...
I can't have a smell.
Okay.
Let's go off of flavor.
I guess it tastes like LaCroix to me.
Like if you had to guess a flavor,
what flavor would you say?
Mmm.
A lot of thinking going on here.
Mmm.
Let me try one more sip of that.
LaCroix is tough because the flavor is...
The best part is once I said the flavor,
you're going to be like, well, yeah, of course.
Um,
I guess it tastes like a Sprite, actually.
It tastes like a...
Okay.
What do they call Sprite?
Is lemon, lime, or citrus?
It tastes like a much less flavorful Sprite.
Like a Sprite without the sugar, I guess.
That's what I'd really say that it tastes like.
So, yep, you're right on. It is, a lime lacroix okay yep and i don't do
you buy lime lacroix is that if i can remember you said you've never had that flavor i think
i've maybe had it before but it's funny how this took me several sips to really pin down it's
probably besides pamplemousse my favorite flavor i. I like this one. Yeah. The first time I ever had it, I was like, damn, this is Sprite.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, it's not as strong, obviously, because it doesn't have sugar and all that stuff.
Right.
But if you had a sugar-free, much less flavorful Sprite, it's exactly what it tastes like.
I mean, I've actually had-
Almost like to a T.
Actually, I've had a fountain Sprite that tastes worse than this.
It has less-
Sometimes you go to a fast food restaurant, if you ever get a Sprite, the fountain, it's
like whatever controls that thing, like the syrup to carbonated water mixes up.
But some people like fountain pop better, right?
Well, yeah.
And I've had some that's better, but I've also had some that's like, this is basically
carbonated water with bad syrup in it.
Yeah.
If you're a person that's trying to kick pop, and especially if it's Sprite that you like,
this would be an excellent.
Yeah.
The lime La Crotte, man.
That's the one.
I like this flavor.
Not to be confused with key lime, which...
We've talked about that before.
I do not enjoy the key lime.
It just doesn't taste good to me.
How does the key lime taste different than this one?
It's more of...
I don't know if it has like a weird artificial flavor to it uh-huh i just there's a there's an aftertaste that i do not enjoy it yeah i mean i could choke one down but i would never not like
i could drink a whole lot of these and be like i'll do another i could do that i don't but i could
yeah so i pretty much nailed this one.
You pretty much did.
When I said it's a LaCroix, I didn't know if it was LaCroix, but I just knew it was a...
I was going to just surprise you and be like, it's one of the new spritzers, David.
You know, I figured we had to go back to our roots once in a while here.
Yeah.
We are the LaCroix podcast.
Maybe newer people don't even know that we're the...
You know, we probably haven't talked a ton about LaCroix lately.
We're the lifting LaCroix podcast about LaCroix's.
That's not far off from it.
So yeah, here we are.
Full circle.
Still wait.
I did send LaCroix.
I filled out one of their forums one day.
This was several months ago about their like sponsorship opportunities.
Never heard back.
How we could run their Instagram forum. Never heard much back from lacroix i guess they're not too worried about us well
they're ready to invest and take their company to the next level we were always uh willing to get
lacroix and slim jim on the team but slim jim actually reached out to us early on and said
that they were going to send us a care package.
Never did.
Yep.
You just got to assume.
I wasn't hiding that from you, Tommy. You just got to never send us one.
I assume that.
And whoever was in charge of sending that, they probably just decided, I'll just keep it myself.
I want the Slim Jims.
Screw those guys.
I need these meat sticks for myself.
I would like to think that.
I feel like if you work for Slim Jim, you probably don't eat that many Slim Jims.
Probably not.
They're probably like, yeah yeah that's enough yeah i do like to think though that we we did help grow their instagram following
we did we did plug them pretty hard for a while we were a part of it we were we were a significant
portion i mean i still do enjoy their content now they have 500 000 subscribers now that's i don't
i don't think it was anywhere near that when we started oh i think it was like 50 000 yeah i was gonna say maybe 100 i was gonna say maybe 100 but uh not when you told
me about it when you first told me about it it did not have i don't think it had 100 it was not
in the hundreds that is absolutely for sure just another another company that passed us up i guess
yeah dicks yeah did you um it's getting to that time of the year
where we talk about the weather on the i was actually going to say this i think we gotta
bring it up what's going on we have to we do have to get in 2000 it is what's the date right now
october 9th um yeah snowmageddon uh 2019 starts now actually it started already in the first
part of the year,
but the fall season of Snowmageddon.
It went into like April or May of this last.
Yeah.
And what are we,
I've heard estimates anywhere from six to 16 inches.
Yeah.
Like it just depends on.
I mean, even like 24 in some places.
It's probably not heat.
But not far away.
They're saying 24.
Yeah.
Which early to mid October.
And we're talking like tomorrow
tomorrow night so like october 10th yeah uh it's possibly up to two feet of snow we probably won't
get that right here but like i know i was hoping to partake uh the the town we live in is having
their college homecoming yeah i was kind of hoping to partake in some festivities and uh
it's gonna be a miracle if any of it even happens.
It's often like, just by Murphy's Law,
it's often bad weather for that.
But it's usually not a blizzard.
No, no, yeah.
And the weather can range anywhere from an 80-degree day.
It's pretty much always in October.
But in October, the weather will range from 80 degrees
to like 20 with 40 mile an hour
winds that make you feel like you're dying yeah so yeah it could be an interesting one here yeah
you do know this is a little demoralizing though it's like we went like our last blizzards and
like that last one was in like april april right like well into rape april middle of april and it
was a significant blizzard august september
i mean we did go almost six months without snow so here we are yeah yeah yeah yeah i took all
like the patio furniture and that stuff in like all right this is just gonna be in the way when
yeah when snow when it's covered by snow yep and the thing is like the grass is still like because
of the rain i've had this year yesterday yeah and everyone has been yeah lit
this is a joke that i've seen going around but it's true everyone has been mowing to get ready
for the snow yep that's like everyone is many many snaps yeah and seen many instagram stories
today everyone's like putting away the mower yeah putting the mower and the snowblowers right next
to it and it's like the most dad joke like middle class fancy thing you can do but that's the truth it's usually that's kind that is the cycle but this year is
very extreme because we got a ton of rain like late in summer this year like much more than we
typically would so the grass everywhere has stayed very green and growing for a long time
so we're mowing right up to the edge and now we're getting a very early blizzard yep so it literally is going
to be like mowing today snow blowing tomorrow and you also know like this is such a midwest thing
and it's probably kind of anywhere but for us it's more winter storms where you see this you know a
storm is coming because just the day before the storm go to a grocery store and it is like people
are like it's chaos.
Like there's so many people there.
And it's always with the assumption that I'm guessing
they're going to be cut off from civilization for a week.
But if you ever want to see a busy grocery store or Walmart,
like just crazy busy, just go the day before a storm is forecasted.
And there'll just be insane amounts of people.
We're a little bit
guilty of it right now we're doing it and like you don't work daily out in an office anymore so
you don't really maybe you don't remember but do you know how much the people like oh because this
has been out for several days like a week that it's and it's like that's like that's the only
thing everyone will talk about i would i would love to see actually there and there's gotta be
way so excited like they were like oh it's gonna be bad and like people want to want each other
about how bad yeah it's kind of like this whole thing of like people kind of want to watch the
world burn but at the same time like they want to complain about it but it's something to talk
it's yeah it's a break from the norm in life this is is what it is. And it's maybe like this element of escapism to it.
Like, oh, I'm living a different life all of a sudden.
Who knows?
But it'd be amazing to see if someone actually could do a study
on how much work productivity goes down when a storm is forecasted.
Because I can't imagine, especially when we're talking about blizzard,
Imagine, especially when we're talking about Blizzard,
how many hours get spent in an office of people talking about the weather.
Oh, it's a lot.
It is a lot.
Like enough to make you be like, yeah, well, it's the weather, man. It's going to happen what happens.
So we probably don't need to talk about it much more.
Then some of the people are disappointed that it wasn't as severe.
It's like some people want people are disappointed that it was wasn't as severe you know it's like
some people want it to be severe and some people want yeah and the joke oh i should be a weather
man it'd be nice to only be right half the time and still get paid uh that's such a middle class
fancy joke also no one's stopping you from doing that so if you really feel that way go ahead man
yeah but that is you know that's our uh our first we had about a six month break from the weather
reports and we're back at it we're back so it's gonna be about six months of it again and actually
it's kind of funny because we did just complain about how people love to talk about weather at
the office but and now we're talking about the weather so yep that's why that's why i said right
away like we're just as guilty as everyone i guess but here we are you know how we are we were talking
about brian shaw maybe a couple episodes and how he's kind of been a little bit of hot garbage lately.
Several people brought this to my attention,
so I watched his YouTube video on it.
He is, and it's also very funny the way he danced around it a little bit
without saying it directly,
but he shit-canned Stan and the vertical diet efforting well okay i had noticed
that he just doesn't really talk about that at all anymore yeah but even does half thor really
even talk about it either i don't really hear him talk about it but he still he does it oh he does
he does it yes um but brian was he didn't say stan's name but he said he's he's leaving his
nutrition guy now and going back to his old guy oh really because he he feels like ever basically he said ever since he went to that to stan well
he's been bad well and that was going back about what two years ago now he said like in 2016 when
i started doing that ever since i he said i felt flat i've been getting injured more and i've done
poorly so it's like he says well it makes sense for me to go back to what i was doing when i was at my best it totally does but also at this point there's so many other
you're probably far enough in the hole that unless unless that really was what it was is that diet
was that bad for him that he just could never recover and never get better but it seems like
oh maybe that hole's already like maybe that bridge has been crossed and there's no coming
there just is like you can't say that there's already, like maybe that bridge has been crossed and there's no coming back. There just is, like you can't say
that there's not other factors besides just his diet,
like his age and injuries and everything else.
But it is funny because, so that's what Brian says.
And then I've talked to Stan personally on camera
in an interview when Stan tells us that.
He's never felt better.
He's regular.
Yeah.
Just all these things. He's not below it. And I mean, Stan's told the same yeah he's regular yeah just all these things and
i mean stan's told the same story it wasn't just the story he told us you know he's said it on
every podcast but from here to the every podcast basically he's been on every podcast saying the
same thing um and of course he's gonna say that because he's promoting his uh it's one of those
things though it's true this is it gets right back into the thing of like diets becoming like dogmatic like where
with it just seems like any diet gets to the point where the creator and i'm using that kind of like
as much as you can create meat and rice yeah um whereas the creator always believes that their
diet is the best diet almost for everyone.
Like it almost turns in like this.
This is the cure-all diet.
Like that's how those things go.
And I just, it seems like there's enough evidence that says there is variability between people
that there's not going to be a one case fits all.
And maybe that just really wasn't the best option for Brian Shaw.
That's very, yeah, that is true.
And I don't think that's... And Stan does a good job of like pre-facing things i think was saying like i'm
not a guru i'm not like he's like usually i'm i'm looking at things that i know worked for me
and like looking at good better best scenarios yeah so he's not like maybe like the ketogenic
guy that says this is the only says, this is the only way.
But still, just by the nature of being the guy that's selling the stuff, you kind of turn into that a little bit.
It seems like he has three pillars that he absolutely like.
I see him on other people's things pop up on it.
It's salt.
And that everything in the world you've ever read about salt is essentially a lie.
That is one of his ones that he keeps going back and back to,
and that is a somewhat controversial take.
I mean, it definitely goes against what most modern physicians would ever recommend someone.
So there's that one.
And with all this, he has his evidence and everything,
but he has the salt pillar is the first one.
The second one is basically that rice rice needs to be and even that rice it almost always has to be fresh rice even
like you know the minute it gets reheated it's already lost yeah it's properties right and then
the third one is that you need to be consuming massive amounts of lean red meat yes yep and
you know the other things and there's kind of there's all the stuff there's
all the other things but but basically like if you're not consuming a lot of salt a lot of rice
and a lot of red meat kind of makes it seem like you're not going to get or you're just you're
leaving a lot of performance behind right it's the way it is the way it comes off yeah whether
that's true or not i don't know i think a lot of people have been successful not doing those things. Yeah, and I do think it's interesting that Brian kind of –
but he was careful not to – he was not throwing Stan under the bus.
Well, yeah, and I don't think he wants, like, shit all over it
because it's just maybe he has enough, like, I don't know, maturity to be like,
well, it just wasn't right for me.
I'm not going to say it was the worst thing ever.
Right.
You know, with all this, I probably sound like I'm being super critical of it. I don't care one way or another if people do that or if they think it's great that's
fine well and it probably does work really good for people too you know like absolutely works
really good for some people i mean stan does post a lot of before and after photos yeah both of that
was the only thing those people changed in their life or maybe there was some extra supplementation
happening at the same time it's hard to say with some of those with any before and after photo like that is also the
one you should be super skeptical of is anytime there's a before and after photo and it regards
the fitness industry just kind of don't pay that photo very much attention right very true very
very true is it bigger faster stronger where they do the same thing?
Yeah, they just make the guy in the same day.
Same day.
Just by lighting and all the tricks and a little Photoshop.
Bada bing, bada boom.
Yep.
Hey, I was just thinking, what's in the can?
We didn't really finish it.
Do you know how we have to finish it?
We always forget with our official J.D. Power Associates rankings.
As we were talking here, I was just thinking,
ah, this does taste really good.
Because sometimes things taste good at the beginning of the can but
this is tasting good to me all the way to the bottom of the can uh i'm i'm a big this is my
you know we say we are lacroix fans are you gonna bust out the big guns for the big we say we're
lacroix fans which i am uh this also happens to be probably my favorite flavor it is for sure the one i buy the most
which i think means it's probably my favorite one uh i think i'm gonna go four and a half on this
one that is the big i really enjoy just really it's that's i just don't get tired of it it's
four and a half and above best in class probably well this is breast in class so Probably. Oh, this is best in class. So you're giving it best in class. This is best in class sparkling water.
Okay.
Yeah, for sure.
I actually...
So best in class is in addition to the 4.5 JD and a Power & Associates Awards.
I couldn't imagine.
Actually, I want to know if there is a sparkling water that tastes better than this one.
This one is very good.
And doesn't have like an overly sugary, overly fake taste.
To me, this is just a good balance of, you know what?
It's refreshing and like it's almost thirst quenching like water.
It has just a little bit of that carbonation to just kind of keep you interested and say, what's that?
And there's also that lime flavor that's like, oh, okay.
It's enough.
Not overpowering.
Not so weak like some flavors.
Yeah.
And lime totally just has that
refreshing citrusy feel so for people for people that have never so so people that have never had
sparkling water and also drink a lot of like really sugary we're probably you really grab
this and you're like really disappointing you go for sure or just like what is wrong with those
guys that they think that tastes good but but for those of
us that you know don't drink that much pop and or soda and do have these this is very good this is
this tastes really good to me sometimes it's okay to have things that aren't super just in your face
with the flavor on everything you know i think i would also give this four and a half out of five uh jd powder associates words
and it is best in class that is best so we can unanimously give this the uh best in class
sparkling best in class lacroix or best in class sparkling water probably i think for now water i
mean that's the class until we find something else that's that can top it oh that's probably our so this one averaged four and a half stars
between the two of us and uh two best in class jd power and associates awards yeah uh now everyone
go out and buy these and be severely disappointed by our rave review you know how many people have
you know tagged us on instagram and sent us messages let say. And also be like, you talked me into buying that?
We have talked a lot of people into buying these
that have left very sadly disappointed at the end of the day.
Well, it's also one of those things.
Do you ever, there's some people that would never, ever, ever
say that black coffee tastes good or enjoy the flavor of black coffee.
Do you drink black coffee?
I do.
That's how I drink coffee. I have no problem with black coffee tastes good or enjoy the flavor of black coffee do you drink black coffee i do that's how i drink coffee i have no problem with black coffee do you not even mind the flavor of black
coffee i like the flavor of black coffee like i feel like as soon as i put vanilla and vanilla
cream or that stuff in which is okay once in a while yes i was just gonna say i do i do have
that once in a while completely different drink it is not the same drink anymore my thing is at work in the mornings a lot of times i have a small cup of you know
probably like four or five ounces of black coffee and i really like it but then sometimes at home on
like weekends and stuff like that i have something a little after a night of just hitting the ipas
way too hard yeah no i like i'll jazz it up and have something a little jazzier. After a night of just hitting the IPAs way too hard.
No, I'll jazz it up and have something a little bit different than just a black coffee.
Yeah, break up the banana.
Yeah.
Which, yeah, everyone's got to do that.
But, yeah, I have no problem with black coffee.
There's probably also a lot of people,
if we start just going rave reviews about black coffee,
people are like, do you like to taste anything?
I've had Kaz coffee.
We've talked about that on the podcast before.
Conceive, believe, achieve.
I believe this is the tagline.
That is it.
That's what Kaz says.
That's why they call him the Kaz.
That is why.
Transition, though.
One thing I was thinking that goes along with what we were just talking about.
Now would be the perfect time for our best YouTube,
best Instagram slash YouTube comment of the week segment
because it goes along well with something we were just talking about and i like to make this
distinction before this segment sometimes the best instagram slash youtube comment of the week
is not actually a good comment it's not actually picking out the worst comment it's the best of
the worst yes a lot of times um this week it's actually a good one sometimes it's a good comment. It's not actually a good comment. We're picking out the worst comment. It's the best of the worst. Yes, yes. A lot of times.
This week, it's actually a good one.
Sometimes it's a good one.
And I noticed this one was like a little positive.
Yeah, sometimes it's a good one.
And this was on YouTube.
And this came from a longtime friend,
big supporter of Mastodonomics, the podcast, Brandon Amos.
And this was on this week's,
this last week's episode of the podcast video and he said
eighth and maybe i should specify what he's saying there he is saying eight
eighth comment because it's always a race yes he says eighth the brian shaw of commenting on the
podcast i think i'm just getting old and dealing with increasingly frequent thumb injuries to my
typing fingers time to retire and do a history channel show about commenting on podcast videos.
I saw that too.
That was a good comment.
Yeah, I really enjoyed that.
Yeah.
That was really good.
Brandon also just got a Lyft t-shirt for his eight-year-old daughter,
and that was pretty cool.
Yeah.
She's a big fan of Masonomics.
Yeah, they had the picture, the family picture rocking it.
Yeah, so shout out to the Amos family.
Good fans of the podcast. Yeah, they know what's up yeah i think it's caitlin but i can't remember what so give her a shout out and because he'll probably have her listen to it but
uh we'll just say the amos family in general yeah yeah shout out uh tanner we got we got ads to do already man thank god we're we're getting broke we were do you have my other
ad sheet over there um oh yeah is that it that is the one that's maybe you need this no no we're
all good we're good here we're good here all We're good here. All right. Are we ready for this?
I'm ready.

Used before or after your workouts, hanging upside down in the Big Ray Strap provides traction that stretches the lower back and gives you an advantageous position from which to develop your hip mobility.
Why do they call it the Big Ray Strap?
They were inspired after seeing 1,000-pound raw squatter Big Rays hanging upside down on bands stretched so thin he was practically on the floor it takes a lot to support a guy that big so
they decided to take it upon themselves to come up with a fix even if you don't squat a grand
the big ray strap will give you the comfort and support you need to recover properly and one thing
to note the big ray strap is designed to be used with the sputting godzilla band have you ever to make it all work i know we don't have the big ray strap have you ever done
those upside down yeah yeah i have but i think i need the big ray strap no i do think we need
because you get you get to the floor like that is the problem with this is you use a band i mean you
can take the heaviest band you have and you're probably going to still stretch to the floor.
Yep, yep.
We've talked about that at the gym before.
We probably need the big race strap.
I think if you get the big race strap with the Godzilla band,
I think it's like $60.
It's not bad at all.
Right.
Not bad at all.
Check out Spud Inc. online for the big race strap

Thank you to our sponsors.
Thank you, sponsors.
Tanner, one thing that I wanted you to see.
Now that we're done,
plug in some sponsors,
talking about the weather,
tasting LaCroix's, all that stuff.
Some of the important stuff.
I want you to go to Boris.
Is it Chico or Shiko?
How do you say his name?
I like to say Shiko.
Nobody really knows.
I mean, it's Russian, so obviously, yes, no one knows.
But he posted a video today.
Oh, I'm on it.
Of Andrei Milonichev in 1999 when he was 22 years old.
And he kind of looks like a big goofy guy yeah and i mean when i say
big i mean he looks not big like he does today like i think when most people think of andre
milanochev today they kind of think of sort of just like this big kind of teddy bear sort of
looking guy but in this video he is jacked and when it gets to the point there's a point here
where he takes his shirt off
are you watching him do uh the bench he's doing some dumbbell bench pressing yeah and so pretty
soon he's gonna take his shirt off and his physique is crazy geez like he's that is crazy
and that's 22 years old geez it is He is like a Larry Wheels.
His physique kind of looks like his arms might be bigger.
Yeah.
And his chest and shoulders are enormous.
And he's very lean still too.
Yeah.
Like his biceps are huge.
Yeah.
That's funny.
I wonder how much he weighs there.
Like 250 or.
Actually, you know what would be interesting to see? We can yeah, we can see on Open Powerlifting what he weighed.
Let's hop on over and see.
Try not to unplug my cord.
Our friend's over at Open Powerlifting.
Okay, didn't unplug anything, so we're good there.
Yeah, let's hop over and see.
We haven't visited our friends at Open Powerlifting for a few weeks now.
His first meet in 1998, he weighed 240.
In 1999, he weighed 242, 232, 238.
So somewhere in there, he weighed 240 pounds.
And he's a very jacked 240 pounds.
I wonder when he broke the 300 number.
All right.
So how many meets does he have to his name, too, is the other thing?
One, two, three, four.
Well, this has got to be super fun.
Just listen to me count.
In 2010 was the first time he weighed 300 pounds, 300.3.
And now, then he gets up to 354.
So when I get to 2010, he's already at 30 meets.
In 2015, he was up to 45
57 meets is what i'm counting damn and i wouldn't be surprised just being the fact that he's in
russia if yeah they probably don't have every single one what What did I say, 59? 57 or 59. Okay.
Wow, yeah.
So that is what's so crazy is when you see like... I feel like you don't see that anymore.
You don't see guys competing that much.
People don't have careers like that anymore at all.
You also don't see people get that into powerlifting to the point where they start as a 21-year-old, 235-pounder.
Yeah, and like a 235-pounder with a physique.
Not like, I've kind of got my baby fat here.
Now I'm going to bulk and get real fat.
No, that looks like a bodybuilder.
Yeah, a guy that legit looks like he should be bodybuilding.
Yeah.
like no that looks like a bodybuilder yeah a guy that legit looks like he should be bodybuilding yeah and then just take that all the way up to you know uh 355 yeah 350 yeah 355 yeah uh put on
120 pounds over the course of you know 20 years 20 years yeah like that's a guy that's really
kind of has done it all.
Yeah.
When you think about all that, it's like, jeez, it's tough to beat a resume like that.
I just don't know who, like, at some point, yes, Yuri Belkin will probably have just as impressive of a resume.
Yeah.
But that would be like if Yuri Belkin decided to go to 350.
If someday Yuri kind of looked like a big super heavyweight but also
yuri's physique never no as far as i know not ever unless he had like a really brief stage
his physique never looked like no like what andre milan and chevy he's about what six one ish isn't
he he must be something like that he didn't i mean we met him in the cage a couple years ago and he
wasn't short i don't know yeah i mean to fill out a frame like that, to be 350 and be like 5'7",
it's just not advisable for anyone.
But I was just – I think we've talked about it before.
We've always really had a lot of respect for Andre Melancia.
But to see just that – like a guy –
you just don't see people with physiques like that to say,
you know what, I'm just going to do whatever it takes to get stronger, and I'm just going
to gain 120 pounds.
Yeah, yeah.
And still, I mean, he doesn't walk around looking like this obese man.
I mean, he's a big guy.
No, he's not.
Yeah, but he is, like when you look at this video, he looks like Larry Wheels.
Yeah, that's, I just, could you imagine Larry Wheels being like, nope.
No, that's. I'm just, I need to set an all-time world record.
I'm going to weigh 350.
Yeah, no.
I can't see him ever doing that.
No, definitely not.
So that just added to me to the mysticism,
the mythology of Andre Milanovic.
It does.
I was impressed.
So if you guys haven't seen that video,
I would recommend a hop on over to Boris Chico's Instagram account and check
out a post from like October 9th ish.
Yeah.
Yes.
Do watch that.
It's worth it.
Let's see.
Well,
Tommy,
do we have time for some segments?
Oh, we got time. what do you want to play do you want to play who weighs more or name that lifter you know i kind of had fun with name
that lifter okay i kind of like name that lifter all right maybe maybe it's just the newness of it
all but i like i like to name that lifter because we do have a new uh new set of name that lifter
contestants here okay okay so how would you describe how we play Name That Lifter?
You are going to read me
for Name That Lifter, Tanner has
scoured Instagram
for some of the most
intriguing bios that he could find.
He is going
to read me sponsors.
I think just sponsors, right?
Mostly sponsors.
It depends on what their bio gives me the idea is their sponsors preferably i find something that has like five or six sponsors
and i start with the the sponsors that are going to be hardest for you to answer the most obscure
sponsors and slowly slowly moves on to bigger name sponsors and at each level he's going to
give me a chance to guess i only get three guesses for each for each before i lose yes and i want to try and guess this as soon as i can
as soon as few sponsors listen as possible because it's like name that tune where you
want to name the song in as few notes as possible here you're naming it as few
sponsors as possible yep just like that okay so first first up on name that lifter we're looking at
sponsors here sponsor one on the first first uh first lifter app lift app lift okay app lift i
believe is a usap l thing okay because i basically don't know what it is. I don't know what it is. I've just seen it pop up.
A-P-L-Y-F-T.
Yep, I've just seen it pop up on USAPL Lifter stuff.
I don't know for sure if it is an app
or if it's an actual supplement.
I've never looked into that part.
I don't know, but I'm saying so far
I'm thinking USAPL Lifter.
The second sponsor, sounds which is i put in uh parentheses as a
help this doesn't really help but it's earbuds because i had to look up what it even is but
so they're sponsored by app lift and esc sounds that's two sponsors do you have can you name that
lifter i'm gonna throw a guess all right i'm just gonna throw a guess already. I'm just going to throw a guess. Russell Ory. That's not right.
But that's a fair guess.
Okay.
That's a pretty good guess.
I see the logic train.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay.
So that's you've used one.
Okay.
I'm just really excited to guess someone in two.
Yeah, yeah.
And I normally would have done that,
but I'm just so ready to get someone in two.
We're going to get to some two yeah yeah and i normally would have done that but i'm just so ready to get someone in two we're gonna get to some interesting sponsors here now on uh clue number
three on name that lifter redcon1 you're familiar with redcon1 yep uh okay applift est sounds i
don't know a lot i don't know a lot of usapl lifters that have Redcon1. I do know, was it Maddie Foburg?
Is that how you say her name?
Last name?
She does.
I know she's a Redcon1 athlete.
I just don't see it.
I'm going to say her as number two, guest number two.
That's not right.
Oh, okay, okay.
That's not right.
All right.
I'm going to have to be conservative now. You have one All right. I'm going to have to be conservative now.
You have one guest left, but there are two sponsors left.
Yep, yep.
Next two sponsors, I'm going to decide which one of these to use
because both of these could be pretty good giveaways,
and I'm second-guessing my order,
and I'm going to give you the last one next, actually,
because I think it's the harder one here.
SBD is the fourth sponsor.
Again, I still have ideas.
I still have ideas, but I can't use them.
This fifth one maybe can do it.
The fifth sponsor.
So we've got AppLift, ESC Sounds, Redcon1, SBD,
and the fifth one, Rogue.
Rogue Fitness.
Ah, this still.
Well, I have to take a guess.
I will say.
Man, and I still would guess Russell Ory.
Yeah, that's why I think that's a good guess.
Again, I have several names I'm thinking of,
but I can't think of who SBD,
or who Rogue actually sponsors for athletes
outside of like strongmen.
Well, it would have to be a pretty big power lift.
Well, no, I know.
And that's what I'm struggling with so hard.
I just cannot think of who rogue sponsors sbd sponsors
like a quarter of elite power lifters so that's not super helpful no
you're one if you don't get it once i say it you're gonna oh no i know i'm gonna feel
really dumb yeah i just honestly cannot think of who Rogue sponsors for power lifters.
I have to throw a name out.
Man, I'm just trying to think of who's been a champ for a long time.
Yeah.
But also, yeah, they're not going to get the sponsorship's been a champ for a long time. Yeah. But also, yeah, they're not going to get the sponsorships
without being a champ for a long time either.
I'm just drawing blanks hard right here.
I don't know.
I don't know.
All your logic was very sound, and it's Ray Williams.
Ah, God.
Yeah. logic was very sound and it's ray williams yeah yeah everything you're saying was uh i'm like it's got to be like a guy i just feel like it's a guy for whatever reason i don't know why i felt like it was a guy and then yeah god he is
a red con i knew yeah yeah and spd and rogue yep yep i was gonna say blaine sumner for a second it's gotta be a heavy guy yeah i
don't see i don't see uh rogue and all these companies getting behind 170 pound guy not
there's anything wrong with that but there's just not as flashy as a big heavy guy right
but i knew blaine sumner was not on those sponsor lists right god yeah really got me on that one
did not get that one we'll move on to the second contestant
there the second one has we have a list of seven wow sponsors i gotta be really conservative with
my guesses yes keep that in mind we have seven to go through the first one first sponsor on uh
second second name that lifter is slingshot doesn't narrow it down very much not much not much but uh the second sponsor
number two rp strength okay that narrows it down a little slingshot and rp strength okay
probably no guess yet though no guess yet no so third one i'm gonna go
I'm going to go Herbstrong.
That really doesn't narrow it down much either.
So far, we've got Slingshot, RP Strength, and Herbstrong.
Three so far.
Fourth one, Fit Cover Makeup.
Okay, I'm assuming it's a woman.
But also, in this day and age, you probably shouldn't assume any gender roles.
Okay, let's go one more.
Oh, you know what?
No, no, no.
Nope, nope, nope.
What was the supplement sponsor?
Or was there one?
We have not covered the supplement sponsor list. Give me the sponsor list again.
Slingshot, RP Strength, Herbstrong, Fit Cover Makeup. Nope makeup nope nope i had a guess but rp strength
threw me off so keep going keep going hate brand goods i'm saving the one that might give it that
you might get it with for the last is this maddie fulberg yes okay yes it is yes uh red con one was the what i was gonna put last
there and also tula what's tula i don't know okay i don't know i'm not sure either but that was her
list of seven not a bad list so i kind of was laughing to myself when you were thinking around
the other one yeah yeah um so you did get that one and i think you got it in four slingshot rp strength fit cover makeup and herb strong you got oh and
hate brand goods i said yeah that was to me the real okay so you got that in five you named that
lifter in five i still i got some work to do here to bring that average up okay this last one
it only has one sponsor,
and then it has some other information.
I'm not going to say the sponsor first.
I'm going to do some of the other information first.
Yeah, yeah, I like these.
Okay.
The first bit of information from the bio.
IPF World Champion.
Okay.
Not enough to make a guess, but...
That's number one.
No guess yet, correct?
No guess.
Number two.
Squat.
416 kilograms.
All-time world record.
Okay.
okay i'm gonna throw it again dennis cornelius nope he's gotta be around there well let me just say something this is almost a trick part of this is
almost a trick that we've heard so far, but it's all accurate.
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Yuri Belkin.
It's Yuri Belkin.
Yes.
I do remember seeing IPF World Champion's bio,
and it is kind of tricky.
And I almost felt like I had to say something or else you were just going to not be thinking the right.
I would have been like, well, is it single ply?
Because I don't know those people.
The sponsor that was could have given
you next was eight man strong yeah that's his one sponsor listed in his bio um which also might have
given in a way my last one would deadlift 440 kilograms all-time world record which that's
80 80 970 yeah you would yeah that's the only person who else like that has ever been an
ipm champ can say 970 yeah so you got yuri and really you got it in two yeah
you named that lifter that was good in two that was good so this week on name that lifter we had
ray williams maddie forberg and yuri belkin maddie forberg uh so far has the title for most sponsors in her
ig bio i'm sure there's someone out there yeah we'll come across more for sure in name that lifter
yeah um what do we have underrated overrated or yeah we're just 52 minutes just as i'm thinking
i realized we did not i dropped the ball and did did not put on our poll last week's overrated, underrated.
We can still get them this week.
But we can go over this week's topics for overrated, underrated.
Yeah, absolutely.
We just don't get to relive last week's yet.
Okay.
Overrated or underrated, you know about the druthers.
I know about the druthers. Do you have them ready? I about the druthers i know about the druthers you have
do you have them right i brought the druthers with me they're yours not only did i bring
lime lacroix's i brought druthers okay and you know how they're yours and nobody can take them
they are mine and only mine okay so tommy has his druthers when i ask him these questions
of overrated or underrated is there right or wrong answers to overrated underrated
for some of them yes there absolutely is yeah okay topic number one on this week's overrated
or underrated oh and this just reminds me i believe goldeneye is coming out with a remake
that was a topic not the movie or the game no the game oh goldeneye 25 i think is what it's called
like it's 25 year anniversary of the game yeah in like the game. Goldeneye 25, I think is what it's called. Like its 25-year anniversary?
Yeah, in like two years it's getting released or something.
For sure it's still a year out.
I don't know what the actual date was.
I think it was like 90...
I was going to say it probably did come out in like 96 or something like that.
That would pick 2021.
Yeah, maybe that's what it was.
96 maybe it came out.
I think it was 96 or 97. It was one of those.
They're working on a remake of it.
A little update for everyone that wants to know
current events and
over-under.
Current updates on over-under.
Where are they now?
Where are the over-under
topics now?
Topic number one this week.
A timely topic. Over-rated or underrated october
the month the month of october the month of october is a time of change
weather seasons tastes out of all the months october And October has almost the most of its own thing going on to me.
It probably signifies the hardest shift in at least where we live.
Because March can be a nice month.
April can be a nice month.
Both of them can also both be shitty months.
You never really know. But you can always count on october the leaves will change there might
be snow coming you also might have some 83 days but the leaves and the weather will change
also daylight savings in october when when daylight savings has to be soon isn't it must
be fall back i keep thinking like daylight savings is going to hit any day now well it
must be october or november something like that we better figure I keep thinking daylight savings is going to hit any day now. It must be October or November or something like that.
We better figure out when daylight savings is quick because...
People are going to want to know.
That could be a topic on overrated and underrated.
Well, daylight savings is overrated.
We all know that.
When humans think they have to manipulate the clock.
November 3rd.
Okay.
I don't know if that's the same every year or not.
Time travel.
Yeah.
See, I'm kind of mixed on October like it is kind of cool like all right like it is different like the the earth is signaling like
yep things are changing this is a different time of year but also like it's signaling we're going
into a shitty time of year but also that signals that like it's time to get in the gym and get
serious because this is when this is when you kind of go into that winter mode of like,
all right, the gym is where it's at now.
It's going to be dark at like 4 p.m.
Enough playing around.
The darkness will hit at 4.
It won't be light until 9 in the morning.
And we're in it for the long haul.
So I'll say, but I think a lot of people really go on about the fall, though.
Not October.
I think they go on about the fall, not October.
So for that, I'm going to say October's underrated.
Okay.
I recognize your distinction.
If you said fall, I think I would have said fall's overrated.
But I'm going to say October's underrated.
Overrated or underrated pistachios i'm not gonna say just from personal
preference but i do believe pistachios are underrated they're they are a delicious nut
there's no doubt about that i think pistachios are great you know there's a little bit that
element of a little bit of you got to work for it you can't just shovel them in your mouth right i
don't maybe you can buy them pre-shelled you probably can i'm sure you can yeah but that would be weird that's
like that's like when you get sunflower seeds yeah it's like well who wants to eat these yeah
yeah just a pile of them yeah uh they also have a pretty decent marketing probably as far as nuts
go i would say they're in the top three marketing campaigns as far as any nuts go almonds are
probably up there on marketing too i think almonds get a good uh what what market do they have a specific brand behind them i'm not
sure see well pistachios yeah the one with the with the green yeah yeah like that's i don't think
any of their nut has that has their recognizable thing plantarist peanuts has the little peanut
guy but that's one specific brand that's not just mr peanut yeah that's just not that's not like all
as far as i know pistachios in general are just pistachios i don't know if the pistachio growers are behind it or if it's yeah there's actually a
pistachio company right i am i'm saying pistachios are underrated i think so too yeah
overrated or underrated i know you'll have something here i iOS 13, more specifically 13.1.2 or whatever the latest is.
Well, really, iOS 13 is what matters.
Have you upgraded, Tanner?
My phone, the other night when I was asleep,
my phone said, screw you, we're doing the update.
So I woke up and I was like, oh, I guess I have this now.
Well, auto update's been a part of it for a while,
so it's probably a good chance you had auto update on.
And as long as your phone's plugged in at night,
it's just going to do its thing at some point.
Do you have it?
I have iOS 13.
Have you turned on dark mode on all your stuff yet, Tanner?
No, I don't even know what that is.
I'll show you.
Once my phone, once it...
So you pull down from the top corner here.
You know how to get to your control center?
If you long press on the screen brightness okay in there is in the bottom
corner here is dark mode now i want to get your reaction here tanner go into your messages app
now that you're in dark mode like my text messages oh it's black also go into instagram right now
oh it's like your brain has to like rethink about what it's looking at
but now that i've been on what's the reason for it like the light in your eyes or what so there's
a couple things one is yeah when it's all white you are basically staring at you're basically
staring at a light you know i mean that is exactly what you're staring at a white light right uh
the other one is you could say it's a little more especially at nighttime maybe it's a little more pleasing on the eyes we don't have these because
we have the iphone 10r but on the more premium ones it has an oled screen and on oled screens
uh the the light i'm definitely gonna mess this up but the light can be controlled on an each pixel
basis like here just the whole screen is backlit. So it just lights up the whole screen.
Yeah.
Uh,
the old edit can actually just turn off individual pixels.
So when you're on black,
it's actually not even on.
So it's like you get the blackest black as possible.
Yeah.
So supposedly on an OLED screen,
dark mode looks like absolutely amazing because those pixels just literally
aren't even on.
but then I,
it's just a change of looks
too yeah like they released dark mode on the uh mac uh yeah for the computer they released dark
mode like a year or two ago and uh you know i switched it over just i'm like oh i want to try
something different see something different and now that i've gotten used to it it's like ah what's
with all the white lights on everything like So do you use it all the time?
I keep Dark Mode on all the time just because I like to try things different
and like to look at it different.
And if you ever need to change it back, it's that one.
And I think you can put all these shortcuts on your control center too.
Yeah, and this is what I read.
You can set it so it just comes on at night or something like that.
Well, no, that's night shift.
So that's when it...
Night shift is it will shift the screen at...
So this is actually a scientific thing is all of these screens,
all these electronic screens in your lives are putting off blue light.
Yeah.
Well, it's known that blue light can interfere with sleep,
circadian rhythms and all that.
So night shift, what that does is,
and some of the computers are
starting to have it now too is it it monitors throughout the day and as as the day gets later
it starts to shift to a warmer hue to cut out more blue light so your your colors aren't as accurate
yeah if you're just watching if you are staring at your phone continually though you don't even
really notice it happening but your colors aren't as accurate they have a much warmer shift yeah and that's it have you used that you know i used to
try and turn it on and i i didn't look into it enough because it kept turning off and not turning
back on and i didn't care enough to even mess with it so i if it was on my phone i wouldn't care i
don't put it on my computer because as a graphic designer color correctness is very important and
so if everything starts
getting a warm hue all of a sudden i'm designing something and then i go to an actual screen that's
yeah not calibrated like that and it's like whoa that wasn't what we were doing at all so
i don't i don't do uh the night shift but ios 13 that one was the big one really was the dark mode
and uh there was a few other like reminders got updated and a few other apps went through some
pretty significant changes photos for the videos they not the only reason this matters to me you
can now edit videos in there like as mass for massonomics i'm like whoa this is nice and you
can crop the video the size of the video that takes so long right yeah that was a big one um
and you know there is a bunch of other little stuff in there
too i don't use shortcuts for anything yet but uh you know it's all just building on itself and uh
but i what i heard is that once it changed then i was like whoa what's going on here so i had to
look it up about it and people were complaining that there's a lot of bugs when 13 first came out
and that it was rushed yeah that's kind of like every okay that's just what they say every time when you get on the when you get on the early version of it it's like that's always
that's always how that stuff goes yeah yeah but i as far as i could tell what i have not i think
one of the things faced id is supposed to be slightly faster like when you like when they
unlock until it gives you the unlock yeah but we're talking about something that was maybe a
second right so now we're talking about tenths of seconds but that's just where they're at we're
just optimizing things so so that's our tech talk but i i'm always saying unless unless a software
update is a total disaster i'll say it's underrated because we need we need these things to keep
pushing forward i don't know what for but we need it yeah yeah it's funny what we're
pushing forward to yeah not sure yeah but we need it and there's a there is is there a new iphone
out there's an 11 is that new the 11 yeah is that pretty new the 11 that's the one that looks like
it has like seven cameras on the three cameras now uh yeah 11 11 pro 11 pro and this looks 11
pro max two grand or i think it probably actually I believe it starts at $1,100.
Max is out, I think, at about $1,600-ish.
Getting close to that $2,000 phone.
That illustrious 2G phone.
Someday we'll get there.
Getting close.
I don't ever get a new phone until after you get a new phone.
And this one's really done done me well so far
as much as i i really try to monitor like my tech usage yeah and uh as someone that already
sits behind a screen all day like i do try to pay attention to my screen time i put screen time
limits on my phone with the idea of trying to limit myself or be more conscious i've turned
off almost all notifications on my phone i get like no notification badges you know any of that
because if you work for yourself you just spend all day just looking at your life absolutely
depends on you getting stuff done not not like your boss giving you like it absolutely so the
more distraction you can eliminate the better so like right now I have all like my phone,
unless you're calling me or texting me,
I don't,
I don't find out about unless I'm going to open the app.
Like Instagram,
I'll get DMS.
I don't even know about it until I open the app.
And even then I miss them sometimes.
So like,
it's a very,
very,
very like locked down and kind of like some people might be like,
well,
you don't know what's going on.
But the upside of that is I can focus on me way more.
And when I say me, like with the shit that I got to do,
I don't even remember where we're going with this.
Why are we even talking about it?
I just said that the phone wasn't good.
So that's where I get torn is like,
it's this device that's stealing your attention
at all times of day.
And it's every app on it is designed
to not let you live your life.
It's designed to
keep they want you back that's how they make their money is keeping you in as long as they can
and so it's tough with that but also like this is like the camera you carry around for right for
your everyday life like this is what you at the end of the day are spending the majority of your
time outside of like a working computer yeah this is what you're spending the end of the day, are spending the majority of your time outside of like a working computer. This is what you're spending
the majority of your time reading things on,
looking at the internet on.
And that's just like,
God, when your phone is shitty,
you don't realize how shitty your life is
until you upgrade to a nice one.
You're like,
oh, I can take good pictures of my family
and they're so nice to look at.
Like I can actually just look at webpages.
If I want to browse apps,
I can bounce between apps
and it works and i can feel good
about it yeah and i carry this damn thing on me every day of my life all day long yeah so it's
like is it worth trying to save a few hundred bucks like definitely spending money on way
dumber things very true so i think the last time i went like four years i don't know if i'll do
that again yeah like unless i was like on the principle of like well i don't want to give into
this this whole capitalistic thing of the marketers and all the advertisers of the world
saying you need a new phone but now i'm like you know what quality of life to be able to if i can
lock it down and stop myself from being sucked into it and then i can use it as a tool when i
want to use it yeah and it can be the best tool i have available that's kind of a nice thing yeah
the camera like as someone that has kids and stuff,
having the really nice camera at your finger is really,
like I don't take pictures all the time,
but like some of those pictures that we have now
because of like having our phones,
like having phones with really nice cameras,
it's like really cool and really nice to have those.
I'm a guy that has spent thousands of dollars in camera.
Like I have camera lenses that cost just the lens over $1,000. to have those like i'm a guy that has spent thousands of dollars in camera like i have yeah
camera lenses that cost just the lens over a thousand dollars right so i i enjoy cameras i
enjoy taking pictures the last time i went uh like the last big vacation i went on i went to
hawaii last december yeah i brought my big camera with me which sucks because i have to have a
special bag for that yeah now because it's a whole other thing and now also this bag has thousands of dollars worth of equipment in
it yeah but you have to be that you drop it once and it's destroyed and now every time we go
somewhere you have to like baby this thing and carry these bags around and this was like right
after i got my new iphone and like already day two of the trip i'm like what's the point right
yeah like this does these are pretty
good like i'm just gonna put these on instagram really like this does just as good for what i'm
trying to do here just kind of fun vacation snapshots i'm not selling these photos right
i'm not using them for any commercial purposes and then i'm like you know what it's way more
fun to just throw my phone in my pocket right on the door it's now waterproof waterproof. So if it gets water on it, it doesn't even really matter.
As long as I'm not losing it in the ocean, I'm good.
And that's where – and then like videos.
It takes awesome videos.
It focuses for you.
It's super slow-mo.
And it's just like, God, it's just tough to not justify having an awesome phone.
It's really tough to not justify that.
Yes.
So iOS 13 is underrated. i'm saying underrated god what was
the last topic i had it remembered here okay we did october we did ios 13 we did pistachios
okay last topic overrated or underrated the joker movie you probably haven't maybe i haven't seen it
i actually do want to see it it has been hyped up a lot yeah and so neither of us have seen it neither of us have seen it i do want to see it
i can't say that about most superhero movies because i really do believe that superhero
movies are kind of a bubble that at some point i agree with all that but this one is making me
want to go to it and it's because they're taking they're not taking the same old kind of family ah it's
the family outing of the summer and they're taking the grittier approach to it and i've
heard comparisons to taxi driver and these other things and um it seems like it's getting pretty
good reviews just because i think for no reason other than it's taking the different approach to
yeah to to superhero movies a formula that's almost like getting more out.
And I want to see it.
I also have a few friends that I do respect their opinion
when it comes to movies.
They take in a lot of movies and a very wide range of movies,
and I've seen kind of so-so reviews from a few people that I know like that.
So I don't know.
It might be a little overhyped.
It might not. I don't know. It might be a little overhyped. Might not.
I don't know.
I have to see it.
So just based on the fact that I have to give it a rating
and it's not following,
which actually I've been led to believe
it's not following the traditional Marvel superhero formula,
I'll say underrated.
Underrated.
I know that people say overrated because like every movie we
do people say overrated because there's always like more people that everybody thinks every
movie yeah right right i'm but i'm the joker i'm trying to give a chance i want to see it
yeah joaquin phoenix is always he's always a good actor i always enjoy watching signs
was he in signs really yeah see he was uh i've never seen he was
the swing away you know with the baseball i've seen all of signs yeah that he was in science
also uh johnny cash walk the line yep uh her he was did you ever see that one that's with the
robot yeah that was an interesting one joaquin phoenix seems like a little bit of an odd guy yeah real dynamic actor
okay so that does uh end our overrated underrated segment for this week and also that kind of wraps
up our podcast i suppose let me see here what else do we got check my note do you have that
over there what one what one? The piece of paper.
This here paper?
Yeah.
You probably want that one right there.
Yes, here's what I want. But first, before I get to this even, we should just touch again on all of our new stuff that we've got.
Yeah, definitely.
We're both wearing the Bench in 315 shirt.
It's probably my favorite shirt right now.
I don't know that it's – I can't say that it's my favorite shirt that we've ever done or not,
but as of right now, at least, it is my it is my favorite well there's some but when you get a
brand new black shirt the black is just it's such a nice black and i like the skull that covers
from left to right top to bottom an enormous masonomic skull yep also the crispy boy shirt
with uh our five crispy boy cans classic i'm gonna do a college
house party near you yeah exactly and a gym and a gym both on the same day probably it's the shirt
that does both yep um and then all of our other other stuff that we've had are don't curl on me
jefferson deadlift we talked about uh all the all the the cans that are on the Crispy Boy shirt
all actually have their own shirt.
We also have shirts for those.
Yes, yes.
Hats, lift, pint glasses restocked.
We went through quite a few of those pretty quickly,
so we have those restocked again.
And if you're not following us on Instagram,
maybe check.
We might be still running our BOGO sale.
Oh, that's true. I don't even know if we should be telling people about that like
we kind of made it this for the podcast so we'll tell you but uh if the sale is still running it's
buy any one shirt get the second one at full price don't want to let that offer slip by someone asked
uh does it apply to other items in the store and i said well we don't want to just let anything
slide but i suppose we could make exceptions.
If you're a fan, we could make the exception for you.
Someone else wanted to know if they buy two.
Can they get two at full price also?
And it's like, yeah, I suppose.
So we do have some workarounds there.
But in most cases, you'll be, in all cases,
you'll be paying full price on everything.
Yeah, and no coupon code needed.
No, that's the best part.
It just takes it right out.
The cart will figure it out.
That is nice, because sometimes it's annoying dealing with those coupons. Yeah, and no coupon code needed. No, that's the best part. It just takes it right out. The cart will figure it out.
That is nice because sometimes it's annoying dealing with those coupons. Yeah, and is it capital?
Is it lowercase?
You don't really know.
Yeah, what is the answer there?
We don't know.
Yeah, we don't have to worry about that on this one.
Yeah, that's nice.
