So for those of you that don't know, we're the two hosts. My name is Tanner. And who are you over there? I am Tommy. The other host. So for those of you who don't know, we're the two hosts. Now you know us. Got that down. Welcome. So I didn't even mention this before the podcast.
Starting point is 00:02:16 I meant to ask you about this earlier, but we haven't talked about it. South Dakota has a... Well, first of all... This is what I wanted to talk to you about. To set the stage. Yes. What do you do for a living? So I do graphic design actually Tommy D Creative is my business. I do graphic design websites, marketing services too. So if you need anything in those areas hit me up on the IG or visit my website tommydcreatreative.com. That's true. You really don't. I do not talk about it at all. Maybe I should become a sponsor to fill up that lucrative sponsorship deal.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Maybe you could get a dip, like a decreased sponsorship rate. Taking hand in one, taking money from one hand and putting it in the other. That seems like a win-win. It does. Ah, so the reason that that's applicable for this. I just like,
Starting point is 00:03:04 I was sitting here, Tanner, before we got going. I was like, there was something I wanted to talk to Tanner about. I said it like four times. Couldn't think of what it was. And I'm so glad you brought this up. I was just thinking of that as we started here. I'm so glad you brought this up. So what's going on is actually probably everyone is aware about this.
Starting point is 00:03:18 This has become a bigger issue than South Dakota. But South Dakota has this new methamphetamine awareness campaign is that what do you call it yeah yes I mean like is it just to build awareness that method there is a method problem or yeah so you know like a lot of rural parts of the country a lot South Dakota is no exception and that map is a major problem and we've all seen Breaking Bad before we've all seen breaking bad that's also very very uh key to something else we have to talk about today yes yes uh and so part of uh i'm sure actually most states that have meth problems opioid problems any drug problems there's usually some type of public service uh awareness uh public service campaign that goes around doing a variety of things, bringing awareness to the problem, trying to remove the stigma, trying
Starting point is 00:04:11 to get people to get help, any number of things that can contribute to solving this problem. Very common thing. So the state of South Dakota this week, I'm sure most people have seen this now, released their campaign. Dakota this week, I'm sure most people have seen this now, released their campaign. And the stage one of the campaign was a series of ads, a full-page ad. And it was high school boys, I think, you know, on the football field. There was a rancher standing by his fence post.
Starting point is 00:04:43 What was some of the other ones? I don't even remember. Most of the two. Just real regular South Dakota folks is what it was. And the headline says, we're on meth, period. We're on it. So any normal person reads that as meth, we're on it. We're on meth.
Starting point is 00:05:00 That's what people will read that as. Right. And now, obviously, what they're trying to do is be really kind of dividing the line of kind of edgy and to get people talking. And they got people talking but I would make the argument all day long that they got people talking for the wrong reasons. It's more people talking. It's more laughing at it. And I don't know if that's really doing much for the meth cause because now that some people aren't really talking much about meth it's really just a joke yeah it's a joke and there I think the
Starting point is 00:05:31 governor has already I think on the first day they got when they were getting all this blowback immediately the government said well the campaign's a massive success like how many people are talking about it it's like okay by that metric you could have paid me. And they paid at this point, I think it was $452,000 to do that part. And I think they said they had budgeted $1.2 million as the campaign unrolls. And I'm thinking in my head, if all you wanted to do was get attention, you could have paid me $100,000. I could have gone on Instagram, DMed a bunch of fitness models and said, for $10,000, come here. Do your little Instagram model thing. And I'm just going to put some caption about meth on it yeah show a picture of your ass and booty shorts and let's yeah right and that will get people that might even get more people
Starting point is 00:06:14 talking because people are like oh sexism now now we've really got people talking yeah right and but I would make the argument that's not effective in removing the stigma around that making people want to seek treatment or even just doing anything positive. Well, that's what I guess what I was wondering is, of course, there's a ton of attention around this because of all the jokes and all the memes and everything that I've seen so far. But what that's why I said, like, is this a math awareness campaign? Like, so just teach people that math exists? Yeah, and most campaigns... What good does that... What's the good part?
Starting point is 00:06:50 Yeah, most marketing campaigns usually fall under one of these umbrellas of awareness, engagement, or conversion. You're trying to make someone aware of something, you're trying to make them take a next step or engage with something, or you're trying to convert them into a customer. Clearly not doing anything for conversion here. There's nothing to convert here. Engagement, I guess maybe they're engaging on social media.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Again for the wrong reasons. And awareness, I would also make the argument that I don't think anyone... It's not really building awareness. The only awareness is of this campaign itself. Like of this ridiculous, you Like of this like ridiculous, you know, whatever this funny, you know, it's almost become funny. And I haven't even watched the TV commercials. People say this. Yeah, I watched it. It's an old lady.
Starting point is 00:07:34 Well, it's that rancher and those football kids and they all say, you're on it. Meth, we're on it. Yeah. Meth, we're on, yeah. It just, it's not hard to misinterpret that. And people are like, well, you got, you're not looking at it correctly
Starting point is 00:07:45 I also gonna it's an advertisement not a book Right, no one wants to ever get see an advertisement be like oh you just got to sit and work with it for a while Right and it's not up to that. It's not clear what we're not going to just add to me at the end of the day Your your messaging should be clear. Well, it's not clear. It's not up to the creator what the message is. It's up to the mass of the receivers of what they, you know, that's the message. Yeah, you can say, well, I want people to handle it. I want people to interpret it this way. But it's not you to decide how people interpret it.
Starting point is 00:08:15 People are going to interpret it how they want to interpret it. Yeah, I agree with that. That was, in my opinion, a big fail. I'm sure they have all types of metrics that they're going to use to justify it in this day and age vanity metrics are a really easy thing they'll say oh like this campaign was liked viewed it had you know on Facebook the one of the reaction buttons I'm sure collectively there's millions of those buttons that were pushed right again I don't think that we ourselves
Starting point is 00:08:42 can it's easy to get caught up in that on a smaller scale. When you see likes on a post or comments or any of that, or even really followers, it's like, well, all that's fine. But like, are we, we get, you know, does it drive sales? So that's the same way. It's like, are they, and they're not after sales, like you said, are they driving really to the. This is the other thing that's so tough with all these.
Starting point is 00:09:03 And I, I don't do, I haven't done any marketing campaigns or any work in what you would kind of consider this public service sector. That's not something I have experience in. But at the end of the day, you want to think, God, if there's a total allotted budget of $1.2 million, you want to think a state as small as small as South Dakota 1.2 million could do a lot for actual rehabilitation and addiction services right right doesn't it so you would think so I from what I understand rehab things aren't cheap but if you're going to give $20,000 grants you're helping out a lot of people about rehab yeah right uh the other issue too so you'll know you'll should have some sort of opinion on this is where the state of south dakota and this is the other thing i hear a lot of people complaining about they hired a an out of state an out of state company
Starting point is 00:09:57 for the 1.2 million dollar contract or whatever it was and i i did read a response from it was like an association Association of I don't know designers or something out of Sioux Falls you know our largest city but they got together and released a statement and they basically said they would have you know like to seen this you know what we have a lot of competence someone that I'm not gonna say but someone that we know works for a company that actually pitched the idea. And he said, ultimately the state turned it down and went with this other company. So there was other ideas out there. Do you think that's an issue that should have stayed within the state?
Starting point is 00:10:34 I get torn on it a little bit. Did you put a pitch in? I get torn just because I put a pitch in. Yeah, that they didn't take it the fastest. I do. People like, I understand the argument of keep dollars local keep dollars at the state I think sometimes people blow that out of proportion a little bit because I also want to say like all right of the all of the money the state of South Dakota is gonna spend this this year I'm sure there's a lot
Starting point is 00:10:59 more opportunities than this 1.2 million dollar campaign that they could be spending in state that they're not. This is just the thing that people are looking at right now. It's just, and marketing and things are so easy for people to, marketing and design are so easy for people to attack because. Yeah. They're like, what are you getting out of that? It's how a lot of people, it's such a superficial thing. So a lot of people have a hard time like, ah, that building looks dumb.
Starting point is 00:11:22 But they can't justify things and marketing just an easy thing for people to attack oh that looks stupid yeah and I hate it and I'm angry and I don't know yeah it's always great for people to keep dollars local whether that's at a city level or a county level or a state level but then there's also the on the American level too. I mean, there's always a bigger thing. Right, yeah. But I don't know.
Starting point is 00:11:52 To me, at the end of the day, you have to look at how effective it is for your people. And I don't know, I don't think no one in the state of South Dakota would have came up with that. Right. I don't know, it's sort of the whole thing thing is it is making on like late-night television yeah well there's all the means I go with it yeah yeah you know there's the Breaking Bad memes like we're going to South Dakota RV yeah
Starting point is 00:12:17 they're get there get it ready we're going to South which spoiler alert that's not the way it works in the anymore right no it yeah it was a blown opportunity I think yeah but let's say South Dakota for you I saw one of like a Mount Rushmore they're all like have like white bloodshot eyes you know I'll Matthew there on the Matthew for fun yeah for fun yeah but lift shorts were on and lift shorts made the main to I have seen a lot of a lot of people trying to ride the wave of I've have seen businesses trying to sell shirts based in that we're on it yeah yeah different state outline I saw yes I saw her if you go to
Starting point is 00:13:02 head beer we're honest I saw yeah so it's on that shirt already yeah I saw in North Dakota had beer wear on it. I saw someone's own that shirt already. I saw someone say, had one that said say ope to dope. I saw that one too. That one was floating around. So there was a lot of that floating around. I saw a Florida meme that made me laugh because it was the outline of Florida that said meth, cocaine, weed, booze. It was like eight drugs and then said, we're on it.
Starting point is 00:13:27 That sounds good. Florida. Yeah. Awesome. So, yeah, I'm sure everyone has seen that by now. If you haven't, go check it out and, I don't know, form your own opinions about how it probably isn't actually helping meth addicts in any way. Right.
Starting point is 00:13:46 So, marketing. That's your lesson for the day. That is the lesson. What were you thinking there? Well, I was going to say, first of all, we've been talking for a few minutes, and I am parched, Tanner. I'm glad you said something. My mouth is getting so dry. I didn't know how I was going to get through these next couple segments here.
Starting point is 00:14:08 So I'm going to ask you not to look at the can. All right. I don't want to set you up for failure or anything, Tanner. I really don't want to set you up for failure. But I think you're going to guess the flavor this week. I think you are. Now, is it because you've had it or you haven't had it? I don't know. But I think you will guess the flavor this week so uh let's get to this i know that
Starting point is 00:14:31 and this for people that aren't familiar this is the what's in that can segment where every week most weeks i just put tanner's brain to the ringer trying to let him guess what crispy refreshment we're having tastes like a work beer mmm also as the LaCroix yeah work beers mmm that's good. It is, isn't it? That's a good one. It's a LaCroix. I was kind of proud of myself for some reason. Well, actually, I'm not going to say anything.
Starting point is 00:15:15 I can't say anything yet. That's a good tasting LaCroix. I know that for sure. Let me take another drink of it, though. You can't finish the whole can before you get some flavor to it. It's not lemon or lime. We've done both of those. It's also not peach pear.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Now I have to double check. I don't think it's peach pear either. You are correct so far. It's not lemon or lime. I think I know what this is. I haven't gotten this right in a while. I don't know if you've ever gotten one correct, actually. I don't think I have.
Starting point is 00:15:54 I'm not sure who that says more about, you or LaCroix's flavoring. That's true, but I think I've guessed this one a number of times before. Maybe is that correct? I don't know if you have. I don't remember every guess you ever made so it's possible you could have no i'm not sure i know that everything i've said at this point has been correct you know that i've it's not lemon it's not lime it's not peach bear it is a la croix
Starting point is 00:16:23 it is delicious. I really thought, I thought you were going to get this one very quickly. We've also done, what other flavor? We've done Pamplemousse. We've done, I think we've done peach pear, lemon, lime. We've done lemon, lime, peach pear, Pamplemousse. I think that is everything we've done. It has absolutely no sense. pair carefulness I think that is everything we've done it's gonna be so obvious once you know in my and maybe it's because I bought it that I thought
Starting point is 00:16:53 there's no way after I tried it I'd never had this one before but there's no way I'm sure that I've had this before I have to really think first let me take one more sip I really have to think of what flavor. I can't pick out a flavor. God, there's so little flavor, honestly. Even if you like La Croix's, your next job is to grab one,
Starting point is 00:17:23 cover up the can so you're not thinking about what the can looks like, and take a sip of it, and it really is hard to pick out the flavor. I think it's a... God. It's a pretty standard flavor, is the thing, so I'll give you that. Okay, give me more than one choice. Is it... It's not Pam standard flavor. Give me more than one choice. It's not Pamplemousse? No, it's not one we've done.
Starting point is 00:17:51 Orange? It is orange. I kept thinking. It's tricky though. If you really taste it, there is no orange scent whatsoever. But now that you know it's orange, it seems so obvious.
Starting point is 00:18:08 I have never had this one before. I haven't either. Now that I think it, because now that I know it's orange, I'm thinking, this tastes like an orange sun kiss. Yeah, it tastes like an orange sun kiss without all the sugary, crazy over-the-top flavor.
Starting point is 00:18:23 So I got it right. You got it right. I'll give you that one just i was it took a little time but yeah um i was i was very impressed with this flavor to be honest yeah i don't know if i just never seen it before or uh the store i go to doesn't normally carry it but i was i was quite impressed. This might've moved onto my, onto my podium. I've never, I have never had this one before. It does taste, it does taste like orange pop. It tastes like orange pop, but not if you don't know what it is. So I gotta have,
Starting point is 00:18:59 it's like, that is a fun, like people at home shouldn't try that to like, if someone can give them blind taste tests of LaCroix you try to pick up later up because it is not easy well you know along the lines of this nothing I can go was with some buddies and we had a mix of Keystone and Coors Light with us okay and I will never discriminate between either one to me it's the exact same thing they do these actually yeah but the test was, can you tell the difference between the two? We poured them both into a glass.
Starting point is 00:19:30 Now, I will say this experiment wasn't completely fair. The controls weren't all in line because of the five people that guessed, all five guessed it wrong. All five got it wrong. It's a 50-50 chance.
Starting point is 00:19:44 All five could not guess it. You know what the variable was, I think? The Keystone was ice cold and the Coors was a little warmer. The Keystone had this really crisp, cool, refreshing taste where the Coors was kind of like
Starting point is 00:20:01 there's a light beer, there's no doubt about that, but it doesn't have that crispness. And then we're like, absolutely. Yeah. Absolutely. Prove that everyone. And then the guy that got it right.
Starting point is 00:20:14 We're like, Oh, the temperature. Like we started saying that before, before we knew. And then the last guy was like, Oh yeah, I think the Coors is this one.
Starting point is 00:20:22 Yeah. He's like, yeah, you guys are complaining about the temperature. So I figured that's probably what's going on so yeah just goes to show that the light beer is temperature dependent yeah and that's about it it needs to be cold I'm still not sure that you could expand or expand that selection to Bud Light and Bush Light and mix them all in I don't know if I would I don't I don't think I would get that right at all.
Starting point is 00:20:46 It would be an interesting test. I actually don't think it would be an interesting test because I think everyone would just get it wrong. It would completely just be guessing. Yeah. They're like, oh, at least with LaCroix, you can kind of say it's a good idea. If we did one of all of our beer-inspired shirts
Starting point is 00:21:02 that we have, so what would the lineup be? A Bush Light, a Miller Light, a Budweiser, a Bud Light, and a Miller High Life. In my head, I want to say...
Starting point is 00:21:16 Would you pick out the Budweiser? Maybe. I'm pretty certain I could pick out the High Life and the Miller Light. I think I could pick those out. I think for sure I could pick out the High Life and the Miller Lite. I think I could pick those out. I think for sure I can pick the High Life out. I think I would pick that one out. And I do want to think... Budweiser I think would be noticeable or something. I think I could. I don't know though. I'm very certain I would get the Bush Lite and the Bud Light.
Starting point is 00:21:40 Yes, that would be very hard. Yeah, i would for sure start with that one but do you think miller light tastes a lot enough different than bud light and bush light that you can tell that i think it is to me bun like cruise light bush light uh keystone they're all the same beer those are the same beer basically um i do think that miller light a just, it's just a shade different. It's so light beer. I've had that for so long. Oh, yeah. I'd never drink it, but it's just a shade different.
Starting point is 00:22:10 I think I could taste the difference. But again, if it was really, really cold, I don't know if I actually would or not. Yeah, yeah. You know, if it was served up icy cold, I probably could get it wrong. So High Life, I'm pretty certain that I'm not going to mess that one up. Right. Because that one does have juice. We i'm not going to mess that one up right because that one does have you have to try that sometimes yeah we maybe should yeah let's do the podcast and drink all the composers drink all five of them to serve a point over the course of an
Starting point is 00:22:35 hour maybe that's what we'll do for the big episode number 200 coming up yeah you know that's uh five beers 12 ounces that's 60 ounces that's's the power over Tanner. An ounce a minute. Yeah. Yeah. I've done that before with the actual shot. You know, the shot. Yeah. Keep it going. I remember doing that in my, our dorm room when I was a freshman, we did that a few times. That'll get you started for a good time. It will get you going. Yeah, for sure. It absolutely will. There's a few different techniques. You know,
Starting point is 00:23:04 the one technique is just to wait 12 minutes and do 12 at once. Probably not true power. No, I think you have to take a shot like that because it's the art of taking the shot. It is. It is. Yeah. Because it sits a little different too. Yeah. Right. Gulping one, just one shotgun. Yeah. Any other intake method that you prefer. Yeah. It's not not it's not played by the same rules oh i just we're talking about that i once uh beer bong five and a half beers in one bong not like i did bong five and a half beers yeah they were all in it was like it was like 60 like the record was five beers so i did five and a half i will not be beaten. And it all went down. And I'm sure it all came right back out. It's just pure liquid, right? It was not a throwing up. I didn't have a throw up
Starting point is 00:23:53 feeling or anything like that. I didn't even have a gagging thing. It literally, it all went down. I went to the bathroom immediately and I just opened my mouth and like the way it came down yeah just came it just flew out of my mouth it's like no stomach anything else liquid yeah yeah it's almost like you're
Starting point is 00:24:16 not supposed to do that or something so take it from Tanner he's done it so you guys don't have to don't put that much liquid in that once. Over like a half gallon. The limit's just under a half gallon. Don't go over a half gallon. I guess that's why the record was five beers. Five and a half is the... I'm sure that's what that person was thinking when they did the five beer record.
Starting point is 00:24:41 This is what's safe for a human stomach. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not good at any of the chugging things at all that's not in my wheelhouse yeah i i like that stuff i mean it's kind of wild i didn't enjoy that at the time well you gotta you gotta lean into what you're good at that's true uh we didn't tease the breaking bad thing. Yes. So why is that? Well, yes, we do need to talk about this, Tanner.
Starting point is 00:25:12 And that is, this is being released on the week of Black Friday. Also known as the week of Thanksgiving. To some people. Never heard of it. Most people know it as the week of Black Friday. Also known as the week before Cyber Monday. Yeah. So first it's known as the week of Black Friday. Then if that doesn't ring a bell
Starting point is 00:25:25 then i'm like well it's the week before cyber monday and then if people still don't know what i'm talking about i say thanks small business saturday yeah small business saturday yes then i say maybe you've heard of thanksgiving that one sometimes catches people but uh usually it's either the black friday cyber monday or or small business Saturday usually one of those hits first the importance thing yeah yeah there's a small group that also know what Thanksgiving is so in honor of this week great week we have by Mason Ami standards we broke the mold we broke them all we have a pretty big drop for you guys our biggest drop we we put out a few drops over the course of a year but this this is a big
Starting point is 00:26:08 drop for us we drop we you could say we dropped the ball we was true yeah good actually and that is this week we have we have new teeth we have new joggers we have new shorts and we're in time talk thankfully about those designs new uh flasks even i can't keep it all straight yeah five wow okay so uh first we're not pushing this on the instagram yet so if you're if you're listening if you're a listener you do have first the stuff's on the store it's not being right a wrap still so you can go on there and get it right now. But first thing, we have dropped the Breaking Parallel shirt. Right. If you're a close follower of the IG page, you will know that we released a Breaking Parallel meme about a month ago.
Starting point is 00:26:58 Yeah, probably a month ago. And there was some pretty warm reception around it. A lot of people were requesting it for a shirt. So this is, by our. So this is a, by our standards, this is a pretty limited quantity run. It is the most limited that we do a run in actually. Yeah, I actually don't know the last time we did a run this limited. So that's really limited. That is. Yeah. So we have the breaking parallel shirt. Great print on the front. Also a little touch on the back too so you're gonna want to check that one out
Starting point is 00:27:33 second t-shirt America's two favorite pastimes benching drinking beer yeah and we've added a the X-factor shirts we made it black yeah a lot of people say I want that shirt but it's in blue well now it's in black and the black is on the black so ah that's the key you put the black on the black that is the key the black is on the black so Ah, that's the key. You put the black on the black. That is the key. The black is on the black. So we have the black on black bed shirt ready to go. Get that one too. Now your big pecs can cash checks
Starting point is 00:27:51 in black. Yes. One thing to note that is on our black shirts, the black shirt that we use for everything. So it does run slightly different sizing wise
Starting point is 00:28:00 than our normal blue bed shirt. Yeah. So if you have the blue bed shirt, say that one runs a baby is maybe a little small as I said yeah a little small compared to our other shirts where a black bench and bench heavy shirt is going to be on the same shirt that our deadlifter shirt is on curl hard Jefferson deadlift what are other black shirts the black blacked out lift shirt basically every shirt that we sell in black, this one's good.
Starting point is 00:28:27 Right. And it is also the same shirt as the, the lit shirt. Yeah. It's just a different color. Yep. So, um,
Starting point is 00:28:35 yeah, it's a solid shirt. So those are the two shirt drops. Yep. Now going into uncharted territory here. It's true. Our first ever, our first ever attempts at covering the lower body. So you spend all this time in the gym, and mass economics gets you covered above the waist.
Starting point is 00:28:54 But now we're going below the belt, baby. And we have got joggers first. Joggers up first on deck here, Tanner. All right. Joggers. You got black joggers. Now, you might say, joggers? I don't wear joggers up joggers up first on back here tanner joggers you got black joggers now you might say joggers i don't wear joggers well you should wear joggers because it's a more sophisticated look you can wear them anywhere in public and people are like oh i'm wearing them right now
Starting point is 00:29:14 they don't look like you're wearing your old ratty sweatpants around it's much more respected you can walk in anywhere joggers on it people are in a nice restaurant you kind of could people do actually people also wear regular sweatpants just don't be that person have some have some respect for yourself but the joggers they are great uh we have a massonomics print running down the right thigh from below the pocket to about the knee yes i're just thinking about how tall you are. The Masanomics stencil logo. Yeah, the Masanomics stencil logo with a red touch of the Masanomics logo as well. I have multiple, I have many pairs of joggers, Tanner. One of the luxuries of working from home is that
Starting point is 00:29:55 the office uniform. You don't have a strict dress code. The office dress code is pretty open to interpretation. So for me that means you have the jogger months and the shorts months. What's your policy on tattoos above the neck? Well, it depends. It kind of depends on that one. I don't have a firm policy in place. It's per my discretion. But I am well into the jogger months season right now and I'm very happy to add the Massanomics joggers in my rotation and they're nice. Just for a few that if you're a die-hard
Starting point is 00:30:35 Massanomics fan, we have the Massanomics hoodies. They buy the same company so that same amazing fleecy interior that that hugs your upper body is now a wrap in the lower body and I really like them. I was one of the first people to wear them out public. I got lots of compliments on them. So more reason to wear them. More reason to wear them. And then you say well joggers what else do you got? Well this is the big one. Lift shorts 2.0 weight. The 1.0s weren't enough anymore. How do you top the most expensive shorts in the world? You make them more expensive.
Starting point is 00:31:12 We did it. People said it couldn't be done. They said it couldn't be done. You're absolutely crazy. No one will respect you for this. We charged a whole more dollar. A dollar more than the 1.0s. A dollar more.
Starting point is 00:31:23 Why? Because we can why for marketing yeah we can't you can't release the 2.0 in charge of less that would be insulting to us and everyone that bought the first one so we get it ruins it ruins the it ruins the the goal of something to attain for so now that there's a short output that's a person that's more expensive it once again gives people something to strive for in life. And these, much like the joggers, are also cloth.
Starting point is 00:31:50 So it's a little more of a fashion piece. Totally can wear them to the gym still. What do you really call this style of shorts? To me, I call them sweatpants shorts almost. I don't know what the technical name for it is. But lots of companies make shorts like Under Armour, Nike, Adidas, they're all making cloth. They're all the big players in the fitness space.
Starting point is 00:32:11 They all make cloth shorts now. We have the Lift logo, the Lift logo in its entirety. Yeah, not just the abbreviated Lift logo, like you see on the Lift shorts 1.0, we went the full Lift logo like you see on the Lift shorts. Its entirety on the left thigh. uh it's a good looking piece and it really does get some attention and also have the massanomics logo uh screen printed on the butt pocket yeah yeah that's right yeah and so there's a there's a back pocket yeah both these pieces on top of
Starting point is 00:32:41 having front pockets also have a single back They do both have dual front pockets. That's an important thing to know. Everyone always wants to know that about the shorts, if they have pockets too. It's kind of a standard issue in the shorts game. I cannot wear shorts without pockets. They're not cool. I remember being in high school, shorts with pockets didn't exist. No, I know.
Starting point is 00:33:00 Shorts without pockets are... To think that that took someone's life. To think that that took time to exist is mind-blowing. But we're there now. So both of them being made out of pockets, I can say this. They do stretch while you wear them. Oh, yes. I mean, one, the fabric is stretchy.
Starting point is 00:33:17 But compared to something that's more of like a lot more of a synthetic blend of whatever kind. These ones, while I wear them, if anything, they might even be tight when I first put them on. like a simple, a lot more of a synthetic, uh, blend of whatever kind of these ones while I wear them, if anything, they might even be tight when I first put them on. Yeah. They do stretch out over time much more than like your regular athletic player. The very first time you put it on, you might have the feeling like, oh, this is a little snugger than I'm used to. But like, even within hours after wearing it, they're kind of like,
Starting point is 00:33:41 yeah, you move around a little bit. Yeah. You move around. Cause I mean, you just sit in place and stand up, oh, he's actually stretched out. So, really excited about those. I mean, I am the most excited about those, but then the other thing too,
Starting point is 00:33:53 we also now have new flex flasks. The flex flask had been out of stock for a very long time. Due to the manufacturer in China just not making the things anymore. I'm assuming probably the same manufacturer that makes the Reebok Power Shoe must be making the trucks last because they just don't seem to exist anymore.
Starting point is 00:34:14 After what we were quoted earlier in the year being about an eight month wait for the bottles to be back in stock, the bottles got back in stock. And we almost forgot about it. We did. It was like, oh yeah, we should check on that. It's probably been about half a year yeah it was i think i think we were we were received notice that it will be about seven months and i think we followed it up six and a half months later it's almost work and they're like oh yeah they are so yeah it was about that time and we kind
Starting point is 00:34:38 of wanted to stick with the one we've used because it is a nice one it's really big it's yeah linear and we know it's good quality yeah so uh if you're not familiar with it it is a nice one it's really big it's yeah and we know it's good quality yeah so uh if you're not familiar with it it's 41 ounces double wall vacuum seal liquid holding goodness yeah and these ones have we got we got some new logos so we got a we brought back the lift logo brought back the lift logo the og logo but we got them and and we also have the bench logo yeah and those ones are great but we have the mega jumbo size running the entire length of like the 10 inch bottle yeah buddy design and deadlifter design and they look good like those bottles are crazy attention you can see those things from across the room that's a big print yeah that the the yeah buddy one and the deadlift for one both really i would say they pop i i i'm hesitant to use the
Starting point is 00:35:31 word but these ones they do anything about out of this new drop pops in particular outside of all the popping um i would say that those those deadlifter and yeah buddy logo the flex flash really pop they they absolutely do it all has a pop to it but they really pop yeah so if you're listening to this and it's early in the week early in the black friday cyber monday it's fall business saturday or thanksgiving week you can get on the website right now get those things there's a good chance uh you're gonna have all of them at your access because you're the first listener well and it would be in be in your best interest if you know you want any of those things to go for now because like you said about the breaking parallel, that is a limited.
Starting point is 00:36:11 And I guess at this point, we're not sure if that's one that's like just going to be a Black Friday thing. That might be a this is it thing. Right. And I think the joggers and the shorts will probably be something that we have around for a while just because we can already tell they're just really cool yeah but even then probably gonna put an order in for shirts and joggers in a couple months here when it's nice again so we didn't do a huge order up front of either of them so for some sizes there's only so many so I wouldn't keep on those either yes I 100% agree so get after those tell your friends about them, buy Christmas gifts for you,
Starting point is 00:36:46 everyone in your family, friends, children, post pictures and videos, post pictures. Yeah. Cause you know, we like to share those. So, you know, your IG handle, your follower account could probably use a little boost. We might share that. You could see anywhere from two to four more people follow you and no need to wait for Black friday for any of those items to go on sale because they're not going to that's right well you could wait and pay more yeah well okay should we tell them our deals oh yeah that's why maybe we should tell them yeah we should buy so by popular demand we are bringing back the lip shorts promotion uh the lip shorts 1.0 i don't know. Maybe it'll apply to the 2.0s too. I guess we could maybe do that. Maybe that's the thing to do.
Starting point is 00:37:30 Tell them what type of deal that is. I believe we'll use the same promo code as last year, which is rich get richer and it'll save you 25 cents on the pair of lift shorts. And we can guarantee you, this is the only time of the year that the lift shorts go on sale you this is the only time of the year that a little show this is a lot of sales this is that you just did all as your only discount of the year yeah you can not not 25% off 25 cents off your order of lift shorts last year we did have quite a few take advantage of surprising number didn't say anything in the comments there wasn't like a joke
Starting point is 00:38:02 to them I was like they feel like they're really just getting a good deal. Hey. Yeah. Every once in a while, we are givers. And if you order even earlier in the week than that, and in the comments you say something about, you heard this on the podcast, we'll also send along a free koozie and sticker pack. So that is a listeners only. yeah so pass that along sentivized Tanner do we have anything else to say about my credit deals so that they get on it by oh no that's it okay I have to read ads all right we are getting oh I want to read ads, I should say. Who will I start with first this week? Decisions, decisions.

Starting point is 00:41:47 Dumbbell handle, that is. Oh, I thought you were talking about something else. This bad boy holds up to 500 pounds. You can finally get a dumbbell handle that you cannot max out. Spud Inc. calls it the cartoon dumbbell because they can hold a ridiculous amount of weight. They're jacked for a simple dumbbell. For over four years, 200 pound dumbbells were about the heaviest available and they were always awkward to press. With the new Sputnik cartoon handles, a new level is here.
Starting point is 00:42:19 I want to see you crop row that. The bar alone weighs 25 pounds and is 36 inches in length. The total weight loading area is 28 inches. The handle is well narrowed and the quality is much better than even the top bars out there. Check out Spud Ink online for the dumbbell handle and other great products at spud-ink-straps.com and be sure to follow them on Instagram at spudding straps did you see a picture of the dumbbell I did see a picture of it that's a beefy boy so first six inches three foot big boy I was not aware that that exists left you can do some serious row croc rows oh yeah damn that's really. You could fit a lot of 25s on there. You would have the biggest in the whole. Yeah, there is no doubt about that. That's pretty
Starting point is 00:43:10 cool actually. So thank you to our sponsors. And as long as we're talking about spudding, so we had the what's in the sack segment. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. We got some follow-ups. Yeah. To follow up on that, uh, pulled out the, we had some spnik t-shirts and had the flag hanging up at the gym. And then they also had sent a piece of equipment. And we didn't know at the time what it was for sure. And that's not the first time that's ever happened to us. You did. I had to listen back.
Starting point is 00:43:37 You took a stab. And then you decided, ah, no, that's probably not right. You were right. It was the front squat. It is the front squat harness and that once i looked at it and looked watched the video of it i was like oh yeah that is what it is obviously yeah um and that's what i was going to say though like a lot of this stuff uh spud they make a ton of these different straps that do a lot of different things what's really nice though on their site for a lot of these they have videos that shows them using it
Starting point is 00:44:05 and how they set it up yeah which i think is key for their products yes yes there is room for interpretation on some right so it is they have good videos too like this on the front squat harness they had a really good video showing them setting it up and using it i was like oh now i know what to otherwise i kind of be like i don't know exactly how you know what's the best way to use this but um that's what i was going to point out, although it is really nice. Is it, is it front squat or safety squat? Oh, it's a safety. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry. I might've said front squat at the time. In my brain, I've been safety squat this entire time. It's a safety squat harness where it, you use it on a regular barbell that goes around it and
Starting point is 00:44:41 have straps that you go through and almost like put on your forearm put uh go on your forearm so you're like just to break some of that weight yeah right right right um yeah so that's actually like the safety squat harness is what it would call made for a regular barbell for people that go to a gym that does not have a safety squat bar exactly it's a uh very easy way to you want to incorporate a variation like that don't have a safe to get that variation in not having to spend the money on it it's probably I'm talking to Jim over and to buying anything so for a minimal investment you can start to have this variation something you go in your bag pretty easily do I haven't tried it yet just because I haven't had the time to set it up and try it but now that I know
Starting point is 00:45:20 how to do it I I do want to do I want to see what that feels like in comparison to like this yeah yeah what the comparison to like the safety squat. Yeah. Yeah. What the comparison is. Cause I was at first, I was like, oh, I wonder if this would be nice. Like it would be, just feel like a back squat then and like, except you don't have to like put your hands on the bar really. But they, they did say there that don't expect this to be, you know, this will be difficult the way that a safety squat bar is too.
Starting point is 00:45:44 Cause it must really be the way that the straps pull that weight forward a little bit too yeah so that's cool product that is cool yeah I'm glad to say we have one at the gym yes we do we have seriously running out of time I kind of wear good I think this every time. Where does the time go? There's a couple things that I wanted to talk about, but I don't want to rush through them, so I think we actually might even save them for next time. There's one thing we do have to talk about, though,
Starting point is 00:46:16 and that is last week we were really hyping up. We ran out of time two weeks ago, so we had to put you down a week. And that was Julius Mad maddox his bench 700 700 for three yes he did 700 for three really good reps and we were building that up and we're like oh i think he has a beat coming up yeah didn't know when it was this the meat was three days after we talked about it or four days after we talked about it And like we had said from day one when people were complaining about his bench record, the first time, he will break it.
Starting point is 00:46:49 And I think we even said he'll probably break it multiple times this year. Yeah, yeah. And he broke it on Saturday. 744, I believe. I think it was 744, yeah. Yeah, I think it was like 744.9 or something. But you know how we like to round around here.
Starting point is 00:47:03 Yeah, a little crazy with the round. Yeah. So we'll say 744. It looked really easy. It did look really easy. I think that was only a second attempt though, wasn't it? It was just a second attempt. He didn't take a third. He said his pec felt tight after that second attempt. Cause it definitely looked like he could have went for a third.
Starting point is 00:47:20 Because I made the comment last week when he talked, not knowing that he had a meet coming up this next weekend and I said I'm pretty sure he's going to bench over 750 pounds the next time he competes he didn't he benched 745 but he could have benched if that attempt would have been 750 he would have got it oh yeah like that 744 did not look I don't want to speak for him because it probably felt like 744 pounds to him, but visually, it looked really... It was a really good lift. It looked like he could have went for a heavier third. In my mind, yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:58 I don't know. Do you ever see an all-time world record be broken that easy? When Carrillo broke it, I think that his rep probably looked pretty good yeah his did look really easy yeah it did but like they did bench a little bit they look different the way that those two bench looks but i've never seen anyone break a deadlift all-time world record and make it look that easy no no no no like even like yuri looks very very smooth but even his it it, it, it might start slow,
Starting point is 00:48:26 you know, kind of finish a little tough. Yeah. Uh, squat. No one's ever breaking an all time world record in squat and like looking comfortable or easier. It might move good, but their face looks like they're going to explode. As far as all time world record goes, that's about as good as it gets. I don't know. And it is very safe to say that's more than the tape.
Starting point is 00:48:45 Oh, yeah. It's going to be a matter of just a short time. Do you know how old he is? I'm not sure. It's a good question. Because, like, he gets better for eight more years. Right now,
Starting point is 00:49:01 I don't think it's crazy to think that in the next few years he could hit 775. I don't even know if that's an unreasonable thing that he has that in like right now I don't think it's crazy to think that in the next few years he could hit 775 I don't I don't even know if that's unreasonable think that he has that in him right now that's that could be your like really soon maybe you know like in my very unprofessional coaching opinion he could take a take a 770 attempt at a meet and probably get it I kind of meat and probably get it. I kind of think so. So then it starts to make you wonder does 800 raw exist? You know, I think that if anyone could do it someday, he's 32. Okay. So he can stay healthy. He's still got good years ahead of him, especially, you know, I don't want to not like this is easier or anything, but like he does bench only. I feel
Starting point is 00:49:42 like there's yeah. Less wear and tear. Assuming your pecs stay good. You know, your, your, your risk for injury is lower. He even dropped five pounds from his last, well, that's true. Yeah. He's down to down to 4 44.9 for this one. Wow. True. But it did look so easy. It was just like like what the freak is going on here it's the same way as that 700 by three in the gym where you just doesn't make a lot of sense yeah and to me there's one of the really exciting lifts of knowing like okay where could this go yeah yes because it it's i don't think it's often you see someone break an all-time world record with that much ease like a lot of people breaking all-time world records it's like yeah I
Starting point is 00:50:26 don't just kill them they did it it almost killed you know I'm this one that is not the case I really do wonder if someday that he'll bench 800 pounds or off and that just seems so if that happens which I mean there's still a lot of things to go on between 740 or 800 pounds especially when you're already the best better than anyone's ever done it but just say he he gets even somewhere closer to that. Then it makes you wonder, well, eventually someday someone's going to be better. Someone's got to come along. Right. Like who is that person? There's always somebody that's yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:55 The person that just weighs 550 pounds and they're seven feet tall. Are they going to bench 880 pounds raw? And they had a life expectancy of 34 years. They're just waiting to die in the mid. Because you know that that's not going to be a healthy spot for anyone to be in. No. No, it's crazy. For as crazy as he is, that's what I was thinking.
Starting point is 00:51:19 Who's going to be the guy someday that's going to be more? Someone will. In this day and age like all-time world record especially in the top end like those world those records don't last more than a few years yeah no which makes me really glad that i'm not playing that game chasing those just know it's gonna get wiped out so soon yeah right and you know props to the people that are doing it because that's the reason it exists, because people are chasing him. But I feel like first, Eric's photo, it seemed like when he came on, people were like, oh, no one will ever bench like this guy does.
Starting point is 00:51:51 And then Kirill did it. It was like, oh. Within just a couple of years even. Yeah, and then everyone said, like, oh, look at the way he does it. No one can do that. Yeah, yeah. Kirill, greatest bencher of all time. You could make an argument, yes.
Starting point is 00:52:04 I mean, you could maybe make the argument that maybe he is a more impressive venture because he's weighs less. I don't know. That's maybe a, that's a, I'm a judge. Right. Someone could say that.
Starting point is 00:52:15 And they would have a valid point. 380 plus pound guys. What's the, I guess he weighs less. But, uh, you know,. But when did Kirill set his record? Was it
Starting point is 00:52:27 three years ago? So these bench records just fall basically every two years. Yeah. Maybe no one ever will break Julius Maddox's record though. Maybe he will be the best bench presser for 50 years.
Starting point is 00:52:47 Maybe. It's possible, I guess. I don't know. Yeah. I'm just really curious to see what it goes. Yeah. And you can't even make the argument. The untested Federation thing rules out the argument that people be like, oh, they're just good at passing drug tests. You know, like that, like how people like to be with Olympic sports and that,
Starting point is 00:53:02 that takes care of that whole situation too. So yeah, I don't know. I guess we'll stay tuned to Jules and say, we just have to keep doing this people like to be with olympic sports right that takes care of that whole situation too so yeah i don't know i guess we'll stay tuned to big jewels and see we just have to keep doing this for at least three more years to see if someone see if someone else comes along because that seems to be the record someone that comes along bigger than jules bigger bigger and better benched more yeah that would be a scary person. Tanner, we are like 53 minutes in already. So we kind of have wiped out we've wiped out
Starting point is 00:53:31 many of our talking points. Like I said, those will have to wait until next week. But I think as tradition and memory serves me correctly, you have something for us. I do. Anyone that's been listening for a while knows what that something is. If you've been a long-time listener, you know.
Starting point is 00:53:48 You know. If you've been a listener for less than 20 weeks, you probably don't know. Only a long-time listener would know. Yes. We are going to talk about our overrated and underrated segment. Possibly the most popular segment in all of podcasts. I was going to say, not just all of podcasts, was gonna say i just thought about all of podcasting yeah first we look at last week's overrated underrated uh topics we put those out on the
Starting point is 00:54:12 instagram story so we see what the people said last week we found out what tommy said this week we follow find out what the massonomics instagram followers say about those topics the first was auto start you said underrated of course in the South Dakota we're on meth and it's really cold we're on meth and we're cold people said 75% underrated so pretty pretty overwhelming response there of course gravy you said underrated people also said underrated 63% oh yeah yeah. They agree with you there. Gotta have that gravy. Kraft mac and cheese, you said underrated. I said underrated.
Starting point is 00:54:49 The people agreed, 57%. I could have seen that one going in the brain. Don't get me wrong. Mac and cheese is good, but I think Kraft is a brand. I don't know if they really bring it as a brand with just straight up mac and cheese. Your wife actually responded to this one. Did she? And she said kind of what you said, she said Kraft is good,
Starting point is 00:55:08 but the elbows not so good. But if it's shells and cheese or a different cheese. Yeah, the elbows are just the most overrated noodle. It's not that good of a noodle, especially for mac and cheese. Well, the Kraft elbows are also a particular noodle too. They're like really skinny. And like when you make elbow macaroni at home, it's usually not that really. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:29 I don't even know what that is. I know. It's just, yeah, it's too skinny. This is my odd elbow. Yeah. Last topic was movie sequels. You said. I was very torn.
Starting point is 00:55:41 It took me a long time. I finally came to the conclusion of underrated. People said overrated, 64%. That one doesn't surprise me. No, it doesn't. I picture that that's how that one would have turned out on there. So that does wrap up last week's overrated, underrated. And now we can get to really the topic at hand, which would be this week's topics of overrated, underrated.
Starting point is 00:56:01 And we got some good ones. Not the bad ones. No, this is a good lineup of overrated underrated and we got some good ones not the bad ones no this is a this is a good lineup of overrated this might be one of my most I'm most excited for this one that I've been in a while I've kind of been phoning it in for okay okay it's good okay my mind sharp you remember how to play I'm gonna assume yeah I think I do I think I do. I think I do. If I break the rules, let me know right away. So topic number one, overrated or underrated, MoviePass. So does MoviePass still exist?
Starting point is 00:56:36 No. Okay. I mean, not right now. You can't use MoviePass. If you go to MoviePass's website, it's just a screen that tells you anyone that had a MoviePass subscription. We refunded you money if we owed it to you. We don't know if MoviePass is going to be back in the future, but we are undercapitalized right now. So basically, they ran out of money, and they have not found anyone to give them more money. Any investors to dump more money on them. Yes, so that's what it is right now so basically they ran out of money yeah and they have not found anyone to give them more investors yes so that's what it is right now I think as an idea it's awesome it's maybe some people don't know what it is so I don't
Starting point is 00:57:13 know the specifics of it but basically you pay essentially a subscription a membership fee and that kind of gives you the golden ticket to basically see any movie as much as you want is how much you're paying monthly to be a member of the club, you can get into movies for free. I shouldn't say for free, but whatever the cost of it. I never knew the specifics of it, of what it cost. I think it's like $20.
Starting point is 00:57:35 And ballparking. It's interesting that you say this because just this week I discovered a YouTube channel. And I've noticed, especially especially this year I'm probably not alone when I do this but I've really noticed this year that I'll find a YouTube channel that I like and I'll watch as many videos on it as I can until I just get completely burnt out and move on to the next one and just continue the cycle and this week the one I discovered is a channel called the company man and what he does is basically look at companies and he has a
Starting point is 00:58:08 few different few different like recurring themes what is like the rise and fall and rise again what is how does this work the fall of this company the rise that is basically is talking about the economics of companies and how they work everything uh-huh one of them that's there, I haven't watched it yet. I do want to watch it though, was the rise and fall of MoviePass. So, and before this week, I probably had not seen the words MoviePass in years. Like,
Starting point is 00:58:33 it just didn't even exist to me. But, yeah, I guess MoviePass, the topic of it, or the idea of it, I think is super underrated. Like,
Starting point is 00:58:41 you're making movies more affordable to people. As far as the studios go, that's probably the worst thing ever is to make that stuff affordable because that's how they make money. It's making movies more affordable to people. As far as the studios go, part of the worst thing out there is to make that stuff affordable because that's how they make money, is just charging crazy amounts of money for everything. I'm going to say MoviePass is underrated. It should be around. Give people that option. As of now, it's not.
Starting point is 00:58:56 And I think the reason they ran out of money, this is like the 32nd of what I just kind of read six months ago or something that's so they had to get to a certain tipping point of subscribers for a tech ever and possibly make money yeah and it's a he was an enormous number I'm sure it's millions and millions right they never got there so every additional subscriber that they were getting until that point was making them lose more money. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:27 So the more business they would do, the more money they would lose. Yeah. You know, so it's. Yeah, it's like. So until they can get to scale to a certain. Yeah, if you can get to like 30 million people. Okay, then you're good. Right.
Starting point is 00:59:39 You've got 30 million people giving you 30 bucks a month or whatever it is. But up until then, every additional subscription that they sell just means they lose more money faster. Yeah. Yeah. That's a dangerous game to be playing. So they're almost in the business of like buying these people's, you know, they're getting these people's information and the access to all this stuff. So like that was almost like the value in this for the company part of it is like they're getting you have all the marketing data on X million people and that was part of I think where the company started where the drive was from because they're like well if we can just get this pool of I don't know 50 million people you know
Starting point is 01:00:22 how valuable that is or just to be able to like market to that many people. But they were losing more, the bigger they're getting, the more money they were losing. Yeah. And now they, yeah. It's one of those problems. It's kind of hard to wrap your head around numbers that are so big. Right. Right.
Starting point is 01:00:35 Right. Any normal person can never, ever relate to that. And, and I've said that before, that may be wrong, but I think that that's kind of, that makes sense. Yeah. Two percent. Awesome. But you did say, kind of... That makes sense. Two makes sense. Two makes sense. But you did say... I did say underrated, yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:49 Okay, topic number two, overrated or underrated. This has your name in it, so don't get blinded by your name. Tommy Hilfiger. Tommy Hilfiger, the classic American designer. Well, all 90s things are making a comeback right now. Champion, Tommy hillfiger uh is tommy hillfiger making a comeback right yeah i didn't even know that i just yeah it's much more it's much more uh fashionably accepted than it was five years ago yeah for sure um when i was like about junior high to tail figure was super cool yeah I'm
Starting point is 01:01:25 pretty expensive I do remember being a t-shirt like $45 yeah yeah I think when I was in fifth grade I was some family member I use for Christmas got me a pair of Tommy jeans not about one it's cool because you're a fifth grader but also your name but also it says my name that's pretty sweet yeah that's really cool um where i get where i get torn is that fashion it's all it's all hype it's it's a hundred percent hype all these brands and whatever is popular not to say that maybe he doesn't have designs that have marriage or anything like that but what were his designs wasn't just always that it was pretty much logo that's like blue and red and yeah it's pretty much the flag and i could be wrong here but i
Starting point is 01:02:14 believe he kind of his look or his designs were like yacht inspired it was kind of like that and where it really took off is in the 90s hip-hop artists started to embrace the yacht wear look. And so all of a sudden it became this thing of like well it's cool. Yeah there's the Taurus B.I.G. and Puff Daddy running around with Tommy Hilfiger stuff on and then you know people are like oh damn I gotta get that. And so that kind of became the thing. And designer brands today are still as probably bigger now than they ever have been yeah but i don't know i give it a few years and it'll it'll fall out again much like anything fashion but i'm going to say tommy hill figures
Starting point is 01:02:58 overrated on tommy hill figure topic number three this week operating or underrated topic number three this week, overrated or underrated, video judging or video review in powerlifting. Does it exist? It doesn't exist. Oh. The idea of it. I've heard a few people talk about the idea of it
Starting point is 01:03:14 because the concept would be a side camera for squatting that video records the squat and you use that to judge or to review in the case of a close call. So here's where my biggest problem with it, most powerlifting meets are ran so poorly already that the idea of anyone having any competency to set up a camera,
Starting point is 01:03:42 one just set up a camera. And then could you just use a phone well but then what angle does the phone have right because it shouldn't be a consistent yeah a consistent viewing angle yeah and now you're talking spotters and people are just say a swap people are walking on a squat different amounts some people some people walk their squat out an inch. Some people walk their squat out four whole steps. Now your spotters are in completely different positions.
Starting point is 01:04:12 Your judges are in different positions. There's a lot going on. Also, some people that are running meets don't have any money. Again, there's no money. A replay system, that's not cheap. So if you're complaining about meet fees already,
Starting point is 01:04:27 all right, you want a replay system to be in place with any type of legitimacy to it, I would assume that's going to cost a good chunk of money or the meets just aren't going to exist anymore. The only time that I feel like you could make an exception or a case for it, to me, would be like IPF Worlds. You are at the premier top-level event. It's really a sporting event.
Starting point is 01:04:51 It really is a sporting event, and we have whittled it down to the best in the world. It's not a meet with 3,000 people, and some of them are going to come in with a 200 Wilks and just be happy to be there. Nothing wrong with that, but that long at worlds right and so I can see how at worlds you could make a convincing argument for it they also have the funds to do something like that there and the resources to do something
Starting point is 01:05:15 like it there you know I don't see it ever making sense that like any other no you you uh the tribute meet or the um us open those ones probably have the funds and money to do it but it just still it makes no sense as those meats well that's there's because of the issues you already stated there's risk for error and stuff anyways basically it has anything anyways it's not really the issue there right really really the issue should be just basically across the board with the exception of like ipf affiliates judging should just be more strict in general because way too much sub passes now right but yeah so what was the original question oh the replay system yeah or just video i think it's i think it's overrated it's overrated overrated the last topic for today's overrated or underrated segment overrated or underrated dr martin boots
Starting point is 01:06:14 so i was going to say i was going to say talking about things coming back in style i was going to say much like doc martin i didn't say it though but yes uh that is i also didn't know they are very much more in style and all those are always you can always buy them yeah but like now when you go to me a good gauge of if something is like hitting more critical mass if you can walk by just random mall shops and there's Doc Martin displays out and they're very much Doc Martin displays out again now and it's not just the the the Doc Martin kind of just average ankle boot things that guys
Starting point is 01:06:48 are wearing no it's like the ones that were popular like you know they're like almost mid-calf they make the ones with like the full like patent shiny black leather yeah a variety they have like a big sole that's they have a pretty chunky sole they always have their their kind of trademarked ankle loop on the back. We usually stick it out. It's usually yellow. Their yellow stitching that is their signature. Dr. Martens' back.
Starting point is 01:07:12 I do believe, I'm not a boot guy. I don't really buy, I don't really have any boots. I actually told my wife that's something I need to do this winter is buy a pair of like legit fashion men's boots. But I never do it. Because like if you want to buy actual quality like leather boots you're looking at 250 plus pretty easy and part of it's like oh i don't know about that but doc martin's i think most doc martin's for around 100 which is kind of in the world of leather boots fairly discount so i think that the quality is somewhat worse i also
Starting point is 01:07:46 thought i was reading an article the other day where i don't know if it was more like 10 or 15 years ago maybe even more where dock martin boots were actually made in england it's a british company they're actually made in england and whether it's 15 20 10 years ago whatever that is they pretty much moved for the most, all of their manufacturing to China. And so a lot of people said that there was a noticeable decrease in quality, which I think is to be expected. So some people say
Starting point is 01:08:14 they ain't what they used to be. But I'm going to say Doc Martens. I'm going to say overrated. Overrated on Doc Martens. But is there a way to look better than walking around in your Tommy Hilfiger jeans and your Doc Martens boots? And also a Tommy Hilfiger shirt to really complete the... Do you remember...
Starting point is 01:08:35 I'll have to try to look it up here. I think, like, when I think Tommy Hilfiger, especially, like, 90s, when Tommy Hilfiger was, like, really going off, especially like 90s when Tommy Hilfiger was like really going off. Part of me remembers a rapper or someone, they had like bright yellow, basically like suspenders. And I'm sure they were for wearing on a boat. They're probably like waterproof, like a yellow rain suit, but like suspenders.
Starting point is 01:09:03 And then they would have the Tommy Hilfiger logo on the chest. And I think the straps would even say Tommy Hilfiger on them but you know it'd be cool you would only do one of them yeah yeah yes for some reason that sticks out my brain like a tommy hillfiger bucket cap but it was coolio yeah it could have been coolio but uh i need to look into that yeah but you gotta double that up with your doc martens now you're mixing and matching doing the whole thing it's a good look but you didn't say I had to show up
Starting point is 01:09:29 on the podcast with that on next week maybe that's but if you combine them both together probably underrated at that point yeah it's really
Starting point is 01:09:35 the combination of the two yeah that's true that's true that does wrap up overrated underrated that brings us
Starting point is 01:09:43 towards the end of our podcast we talked a lot about our stuff a lot more than we normally do we actually have been talking about
Starting point is 01:09:49 clothing quite a bit this time yeah it was kind of the lifting podcast about nothing and clothing in my fashion it sort of was

The lifting podcast about nothing honestly has been perfect for me to do cardio slash sweat through the sauna too.
Starting point is 01:10:53 Not to mention the three to five minutes where you guys actually talk about lifting, which is relatively helpful. I think he's giving us way too much credit in this whole situation here. Seriously, guys, thanks for all you do and helping me through my journey. I also, oh, and then he also sent a before after pick where he got pretty ripped. Damn. Who is that? That is big Jack.
Starting point is 01:11:18 Big Jack. Wow. Big Jack. Thank you. That is awesome. He got pretty shredded. So yeah, it's all due to us. I think, you know, as much as we want to take credit for everything i think you need to give yourself way more credit on this and way less to us uh we are very happy to be there to help you along the
