Starting point is 00:02:19 Well, unfortunately, it was slightly different for the wrong reasons, too. And we heard it from a lot of people. As disappointed as many people were, I don't know if anyone's more disappointed than ourselves. Yes, that's right. You know, we had this track record of 189 episodes of delivering somewhat acceptable audio quality. Yeah. Pretty good, actually.
Starting point is 00:02:42 That's not a bad record, yeah. But unfortunately, we did have an equipment and software issue. And we wanted to experiment. And we tried talking to each other through a tin can and string across. Spoiler alert. It didn't work. I guess the technology change. I see why they went away from the tin can and the string.
Starting point is 00:03:02 Yeah. But yeah, unfortunately, the audio did not capture in the normal way. So we typically record these Wednesday night. By the time we got around to the editing and reviewing part, it was Friday morning, which with the way our publishing schedule works, is too late to do anything about it. So we toyed with it as much as we could,
Starting point is 00:03:23 had to put it out there, and yeah, it sucks. I mean, I guess we had something to put out, which is better than nothing. But yeah, it was disappointing and upsetting that that's what it came down to. But I believe we did many, many tests. We're on the verge of paranoia right now, and everything was coming out correctly. So this should be good. Yeah, we hope so. There's still that part of you that youia right now. Yeah. So, Tanner, it is Black Friday Cyber Monday Small Business Saturday Thanksgiving week technically Cyber Monday would fall into the next week they found a way to stretch it into two weeks we are in that season you could say do you have any special
Starting point is 00:04:59 Thanksgiving plans we're not going anywhere too far away we're doing local family stuff a lunch thanksgiving and also a supper thanksgiving two different locations so doubling up there that's sometimes challenging because if you eat a pretty big lunch at like i was gonna say i knew the challenge was gonna be related to yeah yeah that's the that's the eating challenges. You eat that first one at like 1 p.m. And then you're back to eating again by, for some reason, the timing of the meals gets. It's always a late lunch or an early dinner.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Right. That's exactly right. It's a late lunch and it's early dinner. Like no one has Thanksgiving dinner at 1130. No one. No, it's like one. It's got to be at like one for whatever reason. One to two, I'd say yeah that's
Starting point is 00:05:45 sweet spot maybe it revolves somewhere around football i'm not sure exactly how that ties in but maybe that's a tie-in to that the time of the football games but i don't i don't know that's a stretch probably definitely for some households i don't think it's the majority of households or um but that's so it'll be a later lunch and then an earlier supper so it's going to be managing my stomach. I think where the supper one, we're doing more of an hors d'oeuvres thing. But that's still like when you get a smorgasbord of hors d'oeuvres, you kind of want to have all of them.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Yeah, the grazing thing starts going. And that's when you just kind of, oh, I'll just do one more of those. That's when you really can pile it on without knowing it. I think I'm going to go pretty hog wild, though. I'm not going to hold back. I think I might do the same even. Yeah, I'm going to even hit hog wild, though. I'm not going to hold back. I think I might do the same, even. Yeah, I'm going to even hit up the pies, the pumpkin pies, even, and just get in the full spirit of it.
Starting point is 00:06:31 Yeah. I've already had one Thanksgiving meal already. This was a different family, a different side of my family. We had to do it early, and that was like a week ago already. Oh, really? So I've already done it once. So you're already in the mode of. I've got one down and two to go wow i only have one on my schedule i'm kind of excited about it though yeah do you get thursday off of work uh you know i've
Starting point is 00:06:56 asked around i think i think i'm gonna be able to swing this one and uh get it off this year but yes i am taking thursday yeah your boss can be kind of a dick sometimes he can be and there is work to be done but i am taking thursday off but i do believe i have to get right back to it on friday you know yeah i i get friday off late yeah that was that when i worked for other companies that was always i did like this time of year because it's like the only time of the year where a company actually gives you two days off a bill. Right, right. You know, from that hellhole of 40 hours a week in your cubicle or cage.
Starting point is 00:07:31 Yep. You know how it goes, Tanner. All too well. Actually, I was, I just think about this. This just ties in very nicely with what we're doing. I was, I don't think I said, I meant to send a, take a picture of this and send a snap of it to you. I'll, I'll do that again, uh, later.
Starting point is 00:07:49 But I, I, at my, at my work, I was in a, um, like they do a weekly newsletter and they'll like feature an employee and you know, our company has about a thousand employees. So there's a lot of people begging for them to feature you. No, someone, someone um offered me up like and and the uh one of the main marketing guys asked me if i'd be willing to do it and at first i kind of was like well no i don't really want to and they said well we kind of need someone for this week because it's actually not a choice some people might want to do it but yeah a lot of times for these type of things you you have to like get someone to do it. And I did eventually respond.
Starting point is 00:08:26 My email response was, I will volunteer as tribute because, you know, that's kind of what it's like at that point. But I did do it. So it was this thing about me, you know, and they want to know a little bit about what you do at work, a little bit about your family life, and then a little bit about your hobbies outside of work and normally i have this kind of division between uh work and massonomics you know where uh because outside of work and my family a pretty big next part of what i do is massonomics oh yeah yeah between the gym yes and the all the other massonomic stuff that's kind of like the third big of the three-legged stool yeah and then the three pillars i'm like so do i do i not explain that do i just have like no hobbies do i seem like the most boring person in the world right or do i explain that pretty i just love my wife and kids and work that's who i am and that is how some of
Starting point is 00:09:25 the people oh yeah and it's like that's okay but i'm like that's not really true for me because i do spend you know i do have this other thing that's is the other third leg of the three-legged stool yep but so i did uh share like more of that than i ever have you know i explained the gym and how you know we got about 40 members there and i own that and manage that and i've had that for like three years this got like an accompanying newsletter yeah or it's an email newsletter there's they're at locations they probably print it off and it's like at like the break room yeah yeah uh and then i mentioned um we talked that there's a weekly podcast so that would be the first time i've ever
Starting point is 00:10:05 ever shared that very very much there and they were going to include the link to the website and i actually had them take that out oh because i said i don't mind if people from work here want to check our check check the massonomic stuff out because it also mentioned that there was a blog and you know the weekly podcast and it's all updated through the site. But I had them kind of back that off and remove the link because I just told them,
Starting point is 00:10:30 I don't mind if they want to check it out, but I really want, if someone's going to check it out, I want them to want to check it. Not just every person click on the link. Let's see what this asshole's up to in his spare time. And then like, oh, what's this dumb shit? Like, oh, I don't get it yeah this is who we employ in
Starting point is 00:10:47 this company right so i i did have them take that out because people probably will google it and find it yeah but if they're doing that that means they're actually pretty curious there is a level of interest now um but that was my point i was getting to just that i did share quite a bit of massonomic stuff in there uh relative to what i had in the past they say it's the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. That's true. That's true. Here we are.
Starting point is 00:11:07 I imagine a lot of people, you know, a lot of the employees at the company that I work for are pretty blue collar employees. And a lot of people are like, what's this dipshit doing? Recording? What does he mean? He records a podcast every week, you know? Yeah. I don't think you're wrong yeah
Starting point is 00:11:26 that was that was that story all right well i'm waiting for sales to really shoot through the roof once yes i haven't seen any so far i haven't seen any i haven't seen a boost in local sales either but no uh there's still time they could be waiting for that black friday so i i pictured that some of the people went to the website and looked at the store and be like holy shit what is all this stuff this doesn't make any sense no one would actually spend their spare
Starting point is 00:11:54 time doing this there's like 20 different shirts on here well we did it Tanner I am getting parched unfortunately this week it's not a segment it's not a segment i just uh guessing game it's thanksgiving so this will just be like our our way of breaking bread together so you got us both psls it is just uh it's the tried and true

Starting point is 00:13:28 I think, God, was it Thanksgiving last year? It might have been Thanksgiving or Christmas last year where when I went home, my mother had lime La Croix waiting, and that was my first time. Love at first sip. And it was love at first sip, so who knows? There could be a little blessing in disguise this weekend what what could there be this time what what lacroix beverage flavor is
Starting point is 00:13:49 just waiting for me that i don't know about yet do they make uh lacroix that's just like a plain lacroix what's that called natural oh i i want to buy it just for the sake of being like yeah i tried it i got it just straight up carbonated water at that point. One of these days. People complain about the price of lift shorts. I just, in my head, still have a hard time paying like $5 for just a case of carbonated water. Yeah, you see those things you can buy that you get for at home.
Starting point is 00:14:19 They kind of look about like a Keurig, a little bit like that, and it's like for carbonating your drinking water at home. Oh. oh have you ever seen those was it kind of like a soda stream or whatever those are but i was supposed to probably no flavor right yeah but they're expensive like you can buy some like ultra expensive ones and i'm like god what is it worth spending like 400 to put bubbles in your water it seems like a lot hey but who arely. Yeah, who are we to judge the price of anything? Do we want to talk about a little bit of lifting stuff here, Taylor? Yeah, we are. It is a podcast about nothing, but it is a lifting podcast about nothing.
Starting point is 00:14:57 So we have got reviews that people say they really enjoy the five minutes per episode that we spend talking about lifting. So maybe we'll stretch that to like six or seven heads up we might go we might go past that five yeah not by a lot but just a little bit and it's not because we want to it's just there was a lot of exciting lifting stuff that we're on there are and really the the topic at hand is the world records are just falling lately yes i would say it's probably safe to say at a rate that they never have ever. I mean, in general, I think that statement applies. But also this past, is it 27 days specifically?
Starting point is 00:15:33 Yeah. Well, in a span of 27 days. Yeah, yeah, yeah. In a span of 27 days. And so when we say that span. Less than a month for those of you that don't even know. For those of you that are up on your calendars. What had happened is it started with Dave Hoff, right?
Starting point is 00:15:51 He was the start of them. The Hofster, yeah. The Hofster, Mr. 3K... 1-0 something. Mr. 3K1 something. He broke the all-time world record for multi-play. Multi-play total. And that was, like we said, 3...
Starting point is 00:16:09 3,100 or something like that. Yeah, 31-something, 3,134. 3,108 total. Whatever it was. He did that in the WPO. And it was a solid performance. We talked about it on here a couple weeks ago. Shortly after that, the...
Starting point is 00:16:24 God, were the rest of these just all in the past so yeah the next would have been the bench so so like uh about two weeks later yeah some uh julius comes in with the uh all-time world record bench where he's crushed it or he crushed it 744 yeah 744 more so he didn't the number was only a little bit higher, but he crushed the lift. Yeah, it was. To where you're like, oh, well, that's really convincing. Well, and to where you're like, okay, yep, this will also fall again very soon. So, yep, very convincing performance.
Starting point is 00:16:56 So the all-time world record bench falls. Then, over the course of like the same. Over this last weekend. Yeah like this almost the same day yeah uh the first one was i'll say the first dan bell breaking the all-time world record raw for raw with raps uh total record i should say i think he also had or was that the only record he had there that was the only record the total the only one that matters some it is yeah so 25 18 i think or 25 19 25 18.7 maybe and then the other one would be blaine sumner breaking the all-time uh single ply single ply record and he said the ipf record but it really is the i mean single ply record i mean that is the ipf basically
Starting point is 00:17:41 so and what was his like 28 something yeah it Yeah, it was 28-11, I think. Okay. 28-11. And by the number of times we've said something, you can tell we did some very intense research getting these numbers pulled for you guys. I think it's 28-11. Blaine was at IPF.
Starting point is 00:17:57 What do they call that? Open Worlds? Is that open? Do they call it classic? I never remember what one's classic and what one's... I think in the IPF single-ply, they call it open. remember what one's classic and what one's i think it's i think in the ipf single ply they call open is it just open yeah and then raw is classic well that yeah that might be that might be uh i can't remember classic raw going away from the ipf if you're talking about a typical federation like us apl there's raw raw and then classic classic raw is in wraps classic raw
Starting point is 00:18:28 is knee wraps right not usapl though not usa yeah yeah uspa i misspoke there i meant like uspa you would say classic raw is in wearing knee wraps and raw is knee sleeves yep but in us apl you would go open which is single ply and raw or do you say are you saying it's classic raw in us apl and that would be confusing because in in the other federations you say classic but i don't even know i i i could definitely be wrong here because i do not pay attention to ipf apply at all right but i thought that they referred to single ply at the ipf level as classic because that is historically what the ipf has been raw has only existed there for 10 years now right and so i thought classic referred to single ply and raw referred to okay uh knee sleeves so whatever you want to call what blaine did either way whatever he did it was it was single ply he did uh uh 28 so so looking at the the two the two
Starting point is 00:19:32 performances you can listen to other podcasts or we talked much more about uh dave hoff and julius maddox yeah their performance but the two i think we need to focus more on here, the one really that got me really excited was Dan Bell's. Right. Because Blaine broke his own record, that's what we're saying too, which he already held by a pretty significant margin. And not to discount that at all. No, right. Not to discount that at all, but I don't think that one surprised anyone.
Starting point is 00:19:59 No. Not to say Dan surprised anyone either, but with Blaine, it's like i just assume every time he steps on the platform he's probably gonna be breaking his record right it would be a big deal if someone else broke blaine's record yes like oh wait really that guy yeah it's like just the same thing saying like julius is going to break his bench record again right and it's also i'm not saying i'm not going to be surprised or excited when he does but it's going to happen yeah and we will talk about it but it would be much different if someone came out of nowhere.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Not nowhere. I kind of quit discounting it. But if someone else stepped up and just broke it when you maybe, maybe weren't expecting it. Right. And so with Dan's, the other one there is he is taking down who a lot of people say is one of the greatest power lifters of all time. You know, a lot of people would say if you had to pick your top three, Ed Cohn would probably be in the top three of everyone's list. I think that's a pretty safe assumption. And I think Andrei Malanichev would be in 90% of those lists as one of the top three of all time.
Starting point is 00:21:01 I think so, too. Especially if we're talking knee sleeves or knee wraps. We even did the poll at one point. It's probably been a year ago now, and we did the poll of who is the greatest power lifter of all time. We were polling elite-level power lifters. And it's hard to make an argument against him with just how long his career has been
Starting point is 00:21:20 and how long he's stayed at a top tier. Very few people can pull that off right yuri yuri probably will assume yeah assuming he sits around but yeah you would think so he's still for anyone to even be in that like league of what he's done you still need to do like what didn't we say that one day he has like 60 some meets to his name yeah he did have a lot of meets that that's he has a long career of competing. But Dan's performance, do you have the actual numbers on it, Tanner? I was going to look that up right now.
Starting point is 00:21:51 I think his squat was 1,000 and was it like 56? Let's see. Okay, yes, I've got it right here. It's in kilograms. Oh, okay. We're in trouble but what i the the fact that i this is also really interesting for the last 44 years over the course of 44 years only three men have held the title of biggest raw total wow dan reinhout yes for
Starting point is 00:22:21 don don sorry don don for like 30-some years? Yes, yes. We have done a lifting legend post on Don, and that was one of the facts is that he held the biggest raw total for like a staggering amount of time until… Milanochev came. Milanochev beat him. God, that is crazy that that is how long that stuck around.
Starting point is 00:22:40 And now Dan Bell. Milanochev really had it for a good amount of time. He broke it in… Well, Don held it since 1975. Wow. Andre broke it in 2013, and now six years later it took. And in this day and age, six years as a powerlifting record is about as permanent as anything gets. Yes.
Starting point is 00:23:02 Yeah, it is um i i could look up the actual numbers of the the lift if dan put it on here yeah we might as might as well track that down here his his dead left i know so um he was go he went for the record because i talked to some people that were at the meet actually uh massonomic sponsored athlete uh jonathan oldham bacon and beer bells on instagram competed in that same meet and once we wrap this up we could also mention how he did on that yes and we should but and then his coach less was there and i was kind of asking him i was going as it was going on and they said that, so Dan went on a second attempt deadlift. He went for 400 kilos, 881 pounds, and that would have given him the record.
Starting point is 00:23:50 And he got it really fast. Like almost so fast he tipped over. Yeah, he took steps backwards. Would you never see that happen ever. So he was like walking, took a step or two with 881 pounds. Backwards, not that even. That would be a terrifying position two with 881 pounds backwards yeah at that even that would be a terrifying position to be in that way coming at you so it was red lights because of that so he had to retake it on his third uh and he got it but just imagine that pressure that or imagine
Starting point is 00:24:17 in between a second and third how he felt there he's like oh my god i just had it i literally did it so easy and knowing that there's seems like there's more there yeah just securing that total versus and so then what he had to do is take that number again but he even made the comment that because he really wanted to break 900 on the deadlift so there was some consideration of if on that third he should go to 900 but then if you miss it yeah then it's like i mean it's it's yeah i could understand the argument either way but but if he would have got that 900 he would have broken it by another 19 pounds yeah and that could be the difference in that record staying for a little
Starting point is 00:24:56 more too it absolutely could maybe it's not but maybe it is but also i don't think dan's done competing no no and uh it's not unreasonable to think that Dan will break this again. That is not out of the question at all. His squat was 1063. His numbers end up being a 1063 squat, 573 bench, and 881 deadlift.
Starting point is 00:25:18 That's how you break the world record. You don't have to be the best at anyone. You just have to be one of the best at all of them. Because all of those numbers are the same way when you say 10-63 squat or 5-70 whatever bench or 8-81 deadlift. None of them are like that individual lift. You think, holy crap, that's the best.
Starting point is 00:25:38 No one ever does that. His squat is his best lift. But all of those are like a 575 bench, you're not like, well, there's a decent number of guys that we're familiar with that bench over 600. But he's right at that top 90% level on all of those lifts. Typically, if you're benching over 600, you're not squatting over 1,000. You're usually not even squatting over 950. Maybe you're not even squatting. Or you're not even squatting. 1,000. Right. Starting point is 00:26:07 Yes, you are correct there. And then the same thing. If you're deadlifting close to 900, a lot of times your bench isn't in the upper fives either. So he's just the perfect example of just a solid performance in all of them. And total is a sport of powerlifting. It is. It's easy to get wrapped up in an individual lift,
Starting point is 00:26:34 but total is the power. And your total on meet day, specifically. That's true. Exactly. People also like to get wrapped up in what is happening in the gym. A real total. Yeah. Doing it all is happening in the gym a real total yeah yep a real doing it all on the same day at a real meet yep in this day and age there's no shortage of big lifts happening in the gym but those at the end of the day don't really count for the sport
Starting point is 00:26:58 if you care about the sport for the sport exactly yeah but dan we didn't even mention is long friend of the massonomodonomics podcast. He is. He's one of our first guests ever. Yes. Well, it would have been the first year we went to the Arnold. So this year, that'll be... It's getting close to three years ago that we had him on the show then, right?
Starting point is 00:27:15 Yeah. Because this is our fourth year. In two and a half months, it'll be three years. Yeah. God, so that's probably like, what, episode 50-something? Must be. Starting point is 00:27:26 So check that out if you want to. I'd be curious. I actually, I just thought of this now. It'd be funny to listen to that interview almost and see what he had to say. And I'm sure we talked about the breaking the total record and everything. We probably did. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:38 But as a three year, three year stretch from there, I just read doing that interview. That was our first day at the Arnold. Yeah. It was at that time. Dan was a guy that Tyler would just kind of dm and was like hey i know this guy yeah he's done some meets and he has some pretty big numbers and he said he'd podcast with us and then we're like okay and then we're at the arnold we fly in you're there all day at this point you're completely
Starting point is 00:28:01 burnt out and just like done and then ty's like all right we got to go interview this guy and it's like oh okay we got to get him leave the arnold walk back to our place set up the podcast stuff in this room of like eight guys and dan didn't enjoy the walk to our place all that well i'll tell you that but he was he was a trooper about the whole thing no doubt about that um but dan for this meat he weighed 400 pounds did he yeah that that's his heaviest i think so i do think that was his heaviest he was not 400 when uh and he squatted when when we interviewed him that weekend at the animal cage at the arnold he squatted a thousand pounds for for a set of two uh-huh so he was in
Starting point is 00:28:41 pretty strong form at that point in time too god yeah but i do i'll never forget i will never forget us walking you know through that park yes i don't know it's a few city blocks that you have to walk through this park where you're on kind of like a bike path or a walking trail type thing and dan was pretty audibly wheezing the entire walk and he was you know and we were laughing about it and he made a few jokes it's like he's like oh this fucking sucks yeah yeah he was not in fine uh long long walking shape at that point no i don't i don't think you want to put him in any competition on an echo bike that's probably probably not the spot to have him new but i would do one really
Starting point is 00:29:24 good five second where he could really get some high numbers probably get that thing spinning yeah there's no doubt about that but uh yeah his spot is the uh is the platform yeah for sure yes and he he we're not saying anything that dan wouldn't uh laugh and own up to himself yeah well dan had something funny that everyone's been asking him about coaching since he broke this record. And he put a comment out of there. He's like, don't ask me about coaching. I'm just an idiot.
Starting point is 00:29:51 I don't know what I'm doing. I just do what I'm told. I mean, I'm flattered that everyone wants me to be their coach, but I'm not a good coach. I mean, he doesn't give himself enough credit. He likes to say he's an idiot. He doesn't know what he's doing. He still knows way more than most people. But yes, he has't give himself enough credit. Starting point is 00:30:08 Right. You know, just because you're performing at a high level doesn't mean that you're in a position or even want to be in a position to... And some people are. Yes, some people are. But it doesn't make it... Like one does not make the other that you're either one capable
Starting point is 00:30:23 or two want to be helping people at these different levels and know how to help them progress through the levels. Because a lot of times people of that caliber, they didn't even have to go through those levels. So they don't know how to help someone. They're just so transcendent and elite that coaching is a skill, like whether it's online or in person or anything like that. If you've never done that before, it can be a little weird. And some people, that's not their forte. Yeah. I don't think after Kawhi Leonard's done with basketball, he's going to be coaching clinics.
Starting point is 00:30:56 That's very true. Or coaching. That's a really good example. One of the best basketball players there is right now. Very, very complex game. Yes. One of the best basketball players there is right now. Very, very complex game. Yes.
Starting point is 00:31:05 I just don't think he's going to be on a bench 10 years from now calling out plays and coaching people up on stuff. Definitely not. I could be wrong. I just have a hard time seeing that. No, I think you're right. I think that's a good example. I don't think he's that type of person at all.
Starting point is 00:31:21 With all those records being broken though so the dans blaines julius and hofster in that amount of time it is interesting is it like so is the entire sport of powerlifting getting that much better right now is it like in the golden era of it but that's kind of what my first thought but then i thought like okay is is that the case or is it just these extreme outliers that are just getting like these few guys of extreme outliers that are getting getting even better in dave hoff case i don't think there's anyone pushing him for second place yeah i bet again i don't think multi-ply is a good yeah it's a good snapshot of the sport right single ply i don't think there's anyone pushing blaine for second place i don't think so it probably if I don't think there's anyone pushing Blaine for second place. I don't think so. So it probably, if we looked harder, there's probably more competition at the single ply level than what we're aware of.
Starting point is 00:32:12 Yeah, there's, like in the heart of the competition, the competition's getting better. You would think, right? I think the numbers might not be as big as maybe they were 10 years ago with single ply, but I think the talent level is probably deeper than it was at that time. In Julius's case, nobody's, you know, obviously nobody's doing that. The exception, though, that doesn't, I think, is Raw with Raps. I think there is a group of guys that maybe they haven't done that yet, but there's a group of like at least five guys that all kind of have that potential to put that together on a day.
Starting point is 00:32:46 Yeah, and I think that's why we always get excited for these big meets because there is always the potential that one of these guys could just have the perfect day, go nine for nine, and have a 25-50 total. Right. Maybe even more if they really are having the perfect day, but it's just so hard for the stars to align. To not get injured stay injury free get the calls to work in your favor you know not get a uh a high call on squats and not uh not uh get that long call on bench right you know just get everything to work out the way it needs to yeah it's really really hard to do yeah there's so many factors especially as you start to get that strong and at that level there's so many things that have to go right.
Starting point is 00:33:27 And really the biggest one is just staying healthy. Yeah. You know. And that's the hardest at that point. It is. Like the body is just not. These guys are the perfect examples. Like they are freaks in every way, but they still play by the same rules of nature where there comes a point where the body just isn't made for some of that.

Also, they're not even just playing with the rules of nature where yeah there comes a point where the body just isn't made for some of that and it will it will also they're not even just playing with the rules of nature they're playing like with additional rules that are even pushing the rules of nature farther yes it's like more extreme and more challenging to stay uh-huh to avoid injury and they wouldn't disagree with i mean yeah we've talked to dan he wouldn't disagree with that too like oh yeah i mean they are taking it all to the absolute limit. That's how you break world records. Don't do that by just being the average dude. Right.
Starting point is 00:34:11 You know? Yeah. That's what a lot of people probably think they want to be a world record holder. No one wants to. Well, it's like, do you want to do what it takes to weigh 400 pounds? Because we walked across the park, and it wasn't very fun for dan like is like would you be willing to do that if you could be the world record holder just the fact of eating that much oh yeah it's i i could never i can't eat i can't eat like that like right
Starting point is 00:34:37 like i i know i i can eat to gain weight i've i've gained from the time i started lifting it now i've gained at my heaviest to my lightest over 50 pounds. Right. So I feel like, okay, I understand what it takes to eat more, but it just quits being enjoyable for me. And then I'm like, I'm not even enjoying eating anymore. Yeah. There's a lot to it. There is a lot to it.
Starting point is 00:34:58 Yeah, there is. 99.99999% of people that actually lift are not cut out for that level. But don't you think there's that thing that some people, like on the surface, they think that they want to be? Yeah, everyone thinks they want to be. Everyone wants to be awesome at something. No one wants to put in work on anything, you know? And people find that out in a hurry. The weight room has a pretty good way of just weaning people out naturally.

I'm looking up as you're talking on the phone i should actually for people that aren't familiar with your cranium deadlifts it's the deadlift
Starting point is 00:38:48 where you have like two i had to look this up i wasn't familiar with what this was called it's when you have like usually people have like two boxes and then they'll have uh like a weight down below them and then the the they'll have a either a strap or a bar coming up through the weight. And so you can basically do a deadlift from your toes is essentially what it lets you do. It puts you in a position similar to almost like an Atlas stone because you're coming all the way off the ground. I have seen in strongman competitions do stuff like that before then. So that is the Ukrainian deadlift. Might be something we have to work into our content plan

Starting point is 00:40:59 attempt squat where i think he was going for like 860 and he got two reds on depth. It was very close. It was a close call for sure. It probably could have went either way. If he would have got that, he would have had the 2K total. He benched a little over 400. He deadlifted. What did he have to go for? 750 on his third.
Starting point is 00:41:18 And if he would have got 750, even with missing that earlier, that third attempt squat, he would have hit the 2k total again and he got it about 90 of the way up and uh looks like it came out of his his one of his hands and he lost the grip and lost it it was moving pretty good if he probably if he could have held on he probably would have been able to lock out the lift i would think but after a full meet that's that's kind of that's a factor it's tough yeah's all part of it. So he just missed it. I think he finished with like 1972, something like that for a total. He is right there. Still a big PR total. I'm pretty sure it was a PR squat.
Starting point is 00:41:54 He might have even had a PR deadlift on the second. And most importantly, like we talked about, the total is what you're going for, and he did hit a pretty big PR total. I know he's disappointed about not hitting 2K, but it's never that bad of a day if you're hitting a significant PR on your total. Big John, you're still number one to us. That's right, number one in our fart. You're still our favorite jorts-wearing.

Starting point is 00:42:31 And he did... I think he went to... He's from Alabama and the meet was in Florida, so he did a little traveling. Starting point is 00:42:51 that comfort all about it so good job john yeah john yeah awesome performance okay tanner now this is something that i i've heard of it before i'd seen it on TV one time. And then I was reminded of it. It popped up in my YouTube feed. And what I'm talking about here is men getting surgery to have a six-pack. Cosmetic abdominal surgery. I'm sure there's a technical term for it, but it's cosmetic surgery to get a six-pack. And I didn't pay super close to how it's cosmetic surgery to get a six pack and i i didn't pay super close to the how it's being done but i believe what they're doing is some type of liposuction to get fat out around and i think even maybe even putting i don't know if they're putting some in even that's what i was gonna ask
Starting point is 00:43:39 if they're giving it the illusion pulling out and putting into a yeah i'm not i'm not sure complete and i there's who knows there's probably multiple ways with all the the fillers and implants they have with everything now that they can probably do both or some combination but i do the first time i ever saw it uh my wife was watching the show botched on tv and they had this very tiny very skinny tiny man and he had this just this no muscle definition of any kind but he had like a six pack it was such a weird look and he said he had surgery done to get a six pack and i was like whoa that that is a thing really would you use the word at all that good that it looks good no but this is the thing though this is the thing i in my opinion looks terrible it looks good. No. But this is the thing, though. This is the thing. I, in my opinion, it looks terrible.
Starting point is 00:44:25 It looks awful. It looks very unreal. I also have an understanding of what muscle definition is. Right, right, right. There still is, you know, most people,
Starting point is 00:44:34 there's the skinny beginner not really understanding anything about muscle development or anything like that. Then there's the, I've gone to a gym. I understand lifting weights. I understand strength.
Starting point is 00:44:46 I understand getting better in that category. Not saying you have to be good, but you just understand the general concepts behind it. And to the people on that skinny route, what they equate to like being ripped and strong is abs. Yeah, right. And people that go to the gym almost all know at some point you figure out that having abs has nothing to do with being strong.
Starting point is 00:45:06 That's purely how slow your body fat is. And a better indicator of strength is like… And not even how much muscle mass you have. It's really just how low your body fat is most of the time. And maybe a little bit of your genetic predisposition. They might bulge or have a little more, I don't know, maybe a little more definition if you have more muscle underneath just because there's something to reveal.
Starting point is 00:45:30 the people that go to the gym, I think a lot more gym culture guys, they usually equate and understand like traps. They usually equate more to like someone that, like you can't fake traps. Very, I don't know how you would do it. I guess you could walk around with your shoulders flexed all the way up.
Starting point is 00:45:49 Well, Janashia, I think that. Well, he is, I guess, maybe the outlier here. Otherwise, though, you can usually, you know, once you get that yoke thing going on, you know someone spent some time in the gym. Right. Now, whether their lower body is developed that's a whole other story but you can at least tell if someone has spent
Starting point is 00:46:09 some time in the gym by a upper upper upper body development back is a big sign if they have a muscular back it's like well that person's done something when I say try yes that's probably a better way I'm not even just saying like just like that neck to shoulder region.
Starting point is 00:46:27 It is kind of really the whole upper back is what is a good indicator of someone spending some time in the gym because it's hard to get a big upper back even just benching. Right, you're not going to get – if all you've ever done is kind of hung out and done benching and curls. And like shrugs. Like if you're in the rack just shrugging, you're still not getting like a big back from it.
Starting point is 00:46:46 No, that's right. So I see this... The second time this pops up to me now is the Vice YouTube channel. How do we feel about Vice? They report on a variety of things and their quality can vary greatly and their opinions can be very hard
Starting point is 00:47:04 to even get your head wrapped around at times most times uh but this one it did catch my eye enough that i'm like all right i gotta watch this and it was this guy he was 40 years old and i believe he i think he lived in miami and he's saying you know like i i work out so hard i'm in the gym all the time. I eat good, and I just can't get abs. I can't do it. I cannot make it happen. And so they're kind of talking about him, why he wants to do it. And he's like, you know, it would make me have a lot more confidence.
Starting point is 00:47:34 And, you know, any reason that people say that they're getting cosmetic surgeries. Right. That's why they need to do this. But the best part of this thing was, actually they go to they go to his closet he goes see look it's all these all my closet is workout clothes workout shoes because all i'm doing is going to the gym and it's like all this brand new it's just brand new like trainers you know it's like well okay i don't know that's that's not a good metric for how successful you are i know some really strong people who their outfits are garbage.
Starting point is 00:48:05 They haven't bought a new shirt in 12 years. Yeah, so that was the first one. And then they have him go to his gym with his trainer. And it's a gym. It kind of has the warehouse look and feel to it. And I don't know if this is the way his trainer is or if he was hamming it up for the show. He was like, oh, come on, God, you piece of shit. Oh, you suck so bad.
Starting point is 00:48:24 He's just ripping into this guy and i'm thinking like and this guy isn't big by any means like the trainer is yeah i don't even know like if i saw the guy like walking down the street if i would know he's all you piece of shit come on get going and it's like whoa this guy is not encouraging in the right way uh maybe this is what the this guy responds to but you watch his workout and you're just and then he's he's talking to his trainer you can tell that the producers were like all right uh we want you guys to talk together about why you're doing this yeah and um uh he's telling him he's like it's i think his trainer's like so you're doing the surgery he's
Starting point is 00:49:01 like yeah you know man i just i like you know how hard i'm in here working and i just i can't get these abs like no man you're a pussy you suck at working out you don't do anything right just like calling him out the whole time he's like no it's because you drag your ass in the gym you don't do anything and that's kind of what my whole point with this was this guy is basically saying that he's exhausted every option and really which he has not at all and it's it'd be one's that's a classic that's a classic scenario if he had a tight midsection right but it's not even tight like there's some actual flab there so yeah he's clearly not exhausted his actual options and uh i guess i'm more just like appalled and shocked that like that's ab cosmetic ab surgery is becoming a thing
Starting point is 00:49:42 it seems no it's never gonna look right though no it doesn't and at the end of the day too like you see um so this guy does have it you know they show it and he gets the surgery done and he has these you know it's like a it's a six-pack it there's absolutely there's definition there there's no doubt that when that guy walks by he's a six-pack but his pecs are just flat right and it right. And it looks so off. It's like the most uneven physique you could ever see. Then you need pec surgery to match. And that's the next part. Yeah, and it's like, well. Well, then it's like, okay, you have pecs,
Starting point is 00:50:13 but you don't have delts or arms at all. Right, right, yeah, right. So that's, you know, it's the same thing like when you see the guys with the synthol arms that have these massive arms. Right, and they look so unnatural. It doesn't look good. And it's like, maybe if you've never really followed the gym,
Starting point is 00:50:25 you'd be like, oh, that guy has big arms. But anyone that spent any time in a gym goes, well, he has no forearms, no shoulders, no development of any kind. He just has these sagging biceps and triceps. And I think that's where we're headed to today. Yeah, it looks like crap. So we probably just sound like old people
Starting point is 00:50:42 complaining about new school things now. Damn kids these days and their cosmetic abdominal surgeries these damn 40 year olds and their their ab surgeries but um i guess this is a public service announcement people that uh it is happening it is out there there are people among us that are could be you could be sitting next to someone at an office right now listening to this and they could have a have a fake six-pack underneath their clothing yeah don't be that guy but don't be that guy and we are uh going out on the platform of we don't we don't believe in fake six-packs no we don't condone it no if you want it you got to do it the old-fashioned way work for it a thousand crunches a day that's the only way that's scientifically proven a thousand crunches a day will get you that diet doesn't matter nope it's a thousand crunches a day hit those crunches harder and harder
Starting point is 00:51:31 it's the only way to win the war uh so that's what's new in the world of physique standard all right well we covered uh the olympia a few weeks or a few months ago and and it makes you wonder will this make its way into that but i would think i would think with the amount of fat that those guys lose how lean they are that anything like this would just completely well i just wonder long term how it works like when your body actually goes through real changes what happens to that stuff yeah that's the other thing too i can't i can't imagine it's that long lasting if you actually are either gaining weight or if you're losing weight too it's actually gonna look weird right yes i would that i would be concerned at how that would change as your body makes real changes but i think most people that it's happening
Starting point is 00:52:19 they're kind of in that mediocrity area of like not really doing anything so they probably don't really change anyways yeah i don't have to worry a ton. Yeah, I don't think. The reason they're there is because nothing's changing ever. Right. You know, they're not all elite athletes like us. That's right. Not everyone can be so lucky. Well, now that we got that covered,
Starting point is 00:52:39 we're getting down towards the end of the podcast here. Well, there's a little something I like that we do towards the end of the podcast. Do you know what that is? Ads. Before we jump into this week's new topics, we've got four great new overrated, underrated topics to go through, but but we got to talk about last week's four topics we'll see if you remember how you answered i do and i have a complaint about one of them okay i think you probably already even know what i'm going to complain about here well number one was movie pass what did you say i said under i think i said underrated underrated yeah and i did i i went back and watched a video on this to understand uh what happened the economy of the rise and fall of the rise and fall i did watch it and that's what it was called it was yeah
Starting point is 00:53:32 the rise and fall movie pass and i was like wow this is okay i get what was going on here sounded like the service was ran terribly um well that would be a number one problem yeah yeah it sounded like like on big on big weekends they would oh, movie pass isn't working right now. And you couldn't get your tickets and all types of shady things like that. You try to cancel and sorry, we can't cancel anything at this time and things like that. Because they didn't have any money and they're trying to do it. Yeah, because they didn't have any money. They were losing like a few million a day or something.
Starting point is 00:54:05 But people thought it was overrated. That was the reason it shut down is because it was purely a win for consumers. Right. So I already, okay, that wasn't the one I was complaining about. But yeah, I think people are wrong. It was underrated. But people might be saying. It was overrated and that's why it failed.
Starting point is 00:54:20 Right, right. Maybe. Number two was Tommy Hilfiger. Did you say underrated? I said overrated. Overrated, yeah, yeah. 89% over two was Tommy Hilfiger. Did you say underrated? I said overrated. Overrated, yeah, yeah. 89% overrated on Tommy Hilfiger. I think I said overrated.
Starting point is 00:54:30 Yeah, you said overrated. You said overrated. And the people said 89% overrated, which that is a huge number on overrated and underrated. People do not like... Tommy Hilfiger might be one of the most overrated items I've ever seen on here. That's up there.
Starting point is 00:54:44 Yeah, I'm kind of surprised that it's that high people just associated with some preppy thing yeah they don't yeah they're like overrated okay uh overrated or underrated video judging review and power lifting okay people said 63 underrated uh see i said i said overrated or i said yes i said overrated and what was the what was the result 63 63% underrated. I don't think people understand the consequences. And this is being used. At IPF Worlds, they do it.
Starting point is 00:55:12 Oh, they do? Okay. At IPF Meats, they use it. And that was the one exception I gave. I said, I believe at a world-level meet, it could be allowed. Yep. Outside of that, local meets, oh, just to me you're just asking for just headaches and yeah i think the idea of it the idea makes perfect sense but the execution is
Starting point is 00:55:33 where it's going to just fall apart right most meets struggle to even put together a scoring system that a fan can follow i mean the sports is just for 50 years, whatever. Yeah. And outside of, you know, open lifter and a few others, no one's even really concerned about the fan aspect of the sport. No, not at all. So, yeah. But do you think the people miss the mark? I think they miss the mark on that one. Last one from last week was Doc Martens.
Starting point is 00:56:02 And I think I said overrated. And the people agreed 66 overrated they don't hate them as much as they hate tommy hilfiger but yeah it gets a pass more of a pass okay now we're going to jump into this week's overrated underrated segment topic number one overrated are these good ones or bad ones this week last week you said these are good let me look again oh i like these okay okay all right so we have another good week okay these a couple good i don't know if i should be excited for this no this one yeah you can be excited that i had to look again because sometimes they're better than than others and this this is a pretty good one i was pretty excited about last week's topics this week's topics are pretty good also overrated or underrated
Starting point is 00:56:45 legos legos i think i think legos are underrated and in in this day and age you know it's a great it's a great thing for kids to play with like do some building some learning you know some imagination at work and everything you know anything i guess to have kids less dependent on electronics is uh win-win in in my book so but do you know a lot of adults yeah a lot of adults adult legos is a thing like yeah yeah it absolutely is i don't i i i'm not looking at it from that yeah perspective because also legos on youtube is like uh its own yeah i think it's probably bigger than like it's probably bigger than uh powerlifting probably i don't doubt it uh you can play with legos from the time you're two years old or whatever you can't do that powerlifting but
Starting point is 00:57:38 uh yeah i i think legos still are underrated um as an adult i don't care for them much but i do believe that looking at a person i think they're an underrated i think they're an underrated thing yeah i think uh and is it lego or legos because i think some people refer to like lego as plural uh-huh i don't know that's i think it's Danish, right? Is it? I don't even know. I think Lego is from Denmark. So yes, Lego is a company from Denmark. The freaky deaky Dutch.
Starting point is 00:58:12 Yeah, yeah. I'm pretty sure that that's right. Denmark. Yeah, I didn't know that. It's a Danish company, Legos. Oh. Well, what about Lincoln Logs? That's from Illinois.
Starting point is 00:58:23 Oh, okay. Home of Abraham Lincoln. yeah we got that cleared out so but you you did say underrated did you play legos did you have when i was a kid do you play legos that's even i sound like an old man saying that i mean that's what i would say legos that's what i would say i mean i guess uh i i had him as a kid uh when i was a kid the legos that we had were nothing like the fancy ones now with the crazy sets it was like uh here's a box of just a bunch of random sort of legos yeah that are probably belong to several kids before me even yeah like uh and then you had like the piece that
Starting point is 00:58:56 you could use to remove other pieces from that thing oh yeah kind of like the lego pry bar yeah yeah uh but yeah we had we had nothing fancy at all but yeah i when i was a little kid i did play with them i did have some sets and i i liked legos up you know also above just being a six-year-old you know i liked legos into my junior high years even and um i did like legos i had some cool sets but now some of them are insane oh yeah yeah and also some of the stuff that people build on youtube is actually insane and like they are like these people i don't think they call themselves like builders that they i'm sure they they order uh i need a one by four in white uh you know like yeah they really know what they're doing there's nothing is accidental about right there's some crazy stuff out there with Legos for sure.
Starting point is 00:59:46 Yeah. Overrated or underrated? This would be a good one. Watchmen. Watch... Well... Okay, it's tricky here because the Watchmen universe... I don't know what...
Starting point is 00:59:56 And I'm talking about the show. The HBO show? Yeah, the HBO show. It's not done yet, so it's hard to give a conclusive review. But as of right now, I'm saying underrated. I've really enjoyed the series so far. If I had to make one criticism, maybe, it would be that if you're not familiar with the lore in the universe.
Starting point is 01:00:15 Are you watching at all, Tanner? Yeah. So if you're not familiar with the lore in the universe of Watchmen, you have to do some research, or there's just going to be plot points that don't make any sense. That's the show I've seen. Like, I think we're maybe even current on it.
Starting point is 01:00:28 My wife and I have been watching it and neither of us know anything about it. And we've watched through six episodes and still like eight, two thirds of it is like, don't know what the hell's going on. And the big things are, you have to understand that there's this Dr. Manhattan character that is like somehow this god that actually lives on Mars.
Starting point is 01:00:47 So there's that. There's this squid thing, which is very confusing. Because it makes no sense. That is where the comic book element comes in. There's no backstory. When you start watching the show, you're just in the show. Yeah, and they start to give you more like, well, this is the reason for that.
Starting point is 01:01:03 But it's like, well, but that doesn't make any sense either. But it is in a fantasy universe, you know? So they get a pass. And then they've adapted a few of the things to, you know, just a lot of the rules of the world and physics don't apply, which is how superhero stuff and comic book stuff works. But I am, as of right now, still saying underrated.
Starting point is 01:01:24 I have enjoyed it a lot. It's a really well-made HBO show. It's just like what HBO does. I think I read correct. I think I did read Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails does the soundtrack. Oh. Because one day. The soundtrack is interesting, actually.
Starting point is 01:01:38 Like a lot of HBO shows, they do a good job of just getting classics mixed in there. Right. But then at one point, there was kind of this industrial electronic thing going on and i'm thinking to myself like wow this guy really took a page right out of nine inch nails when they did this and then i was looking and when i was reading about the show one of the things i read was uh trent resner you know worked on the soundtrack and the soundtrack is coming out on vinyl, because of course it is. Yeah, right, right.
Starting point is 01:02:08 There's some of the background, not like the songs, but almost like the theme music stuff that sounds a lot like some of the Stranger Things music to me when I hear it. It really reminds me of that. Yeah, that classic Trent Reznor industrial electronic sound. So you said underrated on Watchmen.
Starting point is 01:02:27 I did say underrated, yes. Overrated or underrated Goosebumps books? Ooh, it's been a long time since I thought about Goosebumps books. Are you familiar with my friend R.L. Stine? R.L. Stine, yep. Do you know what his name stands for? What the R in the L stands for? No.
Starting point is 01:02:44 I don't either. Oh, okay. It's a very, very odd abbreviation. Especially that anyone refers to themselves as RL. I mean, I could be T-E-D-A. It's just such an odd way for your name to go. It's your first two initials. It's like olden things like that.
Starting point is 01:03:04 That's more common like if you look up uh if you're looking through like early like 1900s or 1800s like census uh statistics or something like that there's a lot more people that did that but yeah i like the initials for their uh yeah but unlike uh people that lived in the 1900s early 1900s rl stein did not grow up in the early 1900s so i don't know what his excuse is there i'm sure i'm sure there's some i'm sure there's a reason for it rl stein is a man right or i'm assuming i don't know it could be a pseudonym that a woman is you i don't know i don't know a thing about it um but you read some goosebumps book i read a couple i was the kid though that i was terrified of anything horror i could not i as a child could not do horror stuff could not do
Starting point is 01:03:52 it i was afraid of all of that um and so with that i just i just pretty much even stayed away from goosebumps just things were just too scary they gave you everything was too scary for me everything was too scary for me uh Everything was too scary for me. Do you remember, I think I had a goose, I think it was Goosebumps, a book where, it was a Goosebumps book where you would read and then you could pick your path. That does sound familiar to me. Like, oh, the monster's coming after you.
Starting point is 01:04:18 Are you going to run from it or go get your friend? You know, you had two child, and then it was like, all right, jump to page 25. Yeah, yeah. And do, do, do. Oh, your adventure's over. Like, it was like a pick your own adventure thing. I had, I'm pretty sure it was Goosebumps.
Starting point is 01:04:32 I had one of those. And I remember being a kid reading it. And it was just like, I didn't do it right. Didn't do it right. And it was, and then I was checked out. Because how many times you want to reread the same pages to. Right. You're just trying to game the system.
Starting point is 01:04:43 You're not even reading the book, you know. But Goosebumps. going to reread the same pages to right you're just trying to game the system they're not even reading the book you know but goosebumps i just don't have like any memories of actually reading them in the stories part of me wants to say like if that's what it takes to get kids to to read an actual book that it that it's good and it's underrated but i don't hear of the stories having any like merit or any... When was the last time you heard someone talk... People talk about reading Harry Potter books. You can say they're kids' books. People talk about reading those.
Starting point is 01:05:11 Like Narnia books, other children's series. You don't hear people talk about, oh, I just caught up on a few Goosebumps books this weekend. Do kids... I mean, is that still... Do they still exist yet? I haven't seen my son have a Goosebumps. He wouldn't know what it is.
Starting point is 01:05:24 I don't think... I'm going to ask him that him that actually but i don't think he would know what it is and i in you know by the time i remember reading him when i was in like third grade is about yeah when i remember reading them yeah that that's what the time frame i would have put it in that uh kind of like earlier elementary school uh i don't know i haven't seen any around like yeah i that makes me want to think that they probably are overrated. Like something, Schoolastic or whoever the publisher was,
Starting point is 01:05:52 was really pushing those hard for a while. I think it was probably a moneymaker. Yeah, we're pushing this hard. It's a moneymaker. This guy's pumping out all these kind of scary novels for kids. Yeah, that bubble burst and they actually weren't that good.
Starting point is 01:06:04 So that's why they don't exist anymore. That has to be it, right? I would think if there were great books or classics for kids, they'd still be getting pushed. Like Nancy Drew. Yeah, any of that stuff. There's tons of... You know about the boxcar children?
Starting point is 01:06:18 The boxcar kids. Or yeah, children, kids, whatever they were. I don't know what it was. Yeah, all that stuff. But I think Goosebumps was probably overrated. Okay. Last one for today. Overrated or underrated?
Starting point is 01:06:30 Rick and Morty. I've seen maybe cumulative 10 minutes of Rick and Morty in my entire life. I know the people that love it, love it.
Starting point is 01:06:43 Yeah. Like, love it. Really love it. Like to the point where people make jokes about them on the internet because they love it so much I just don't know anything about the show so it's hard for me to say anything other than overrated
Starting point is 01:06:58 that's my son and I sometimes when my wife leaves we it's time for we call it time for inappropriate television my son and I sometimes when my wife leaves, we, it's time for, we call it time for inappropriate television and we'll like watch fit. Like I'll let them watch a little bit of family guy or something like that with me.
Starting point is 01:07:13 And I've been curious about Rick and Morty because like you said, I know some people really like it a lot. And I was like, Oh, I guess maybe it's good. You know, I need to try it out. Cause I kind of like,
Starting point is 01:07:24 uh, I always liked family guy's good. I need to try it out. Because I kind of like, I've always liked Family Guy. I've always liked South Park. I'm a big South Park fan. I even like Bob's Burgers. That's not all that inappropriate. I've never watched that either. My son and I can watch that. It's very non-interpreting.
Starting point is 01:07:38 It's not near as off color as the other ones are. But I like Bob's Burgers. So I wanted to try rick and morty and we watched started to watch the pilot and maybe made it like 10 or 15 well i don't know maybe halfway through the episode and it's tough because obviously i don't understand i don't know the characters and like that's what makes it more funny is once you've seen it for a while you kind of know what everyone does and everything but like the voices and stuff i couldn't get past it it was just annoying me and i i had to shut it off because i just it wasn't yeah there's obviously something there there's a reason on it
Starting point is 01:08:13 and i i totally get how yeah people could could like it i would have to give it more time but yeah i just because i haven't watched enough i'm just and i know there's a lot of hype around it with people that like it that's the reason I'm going overrated. Okay. Speaking of though, of like illustrated cartoons, you know, not a 3D animated.
Starting point is 01:08:32 Right. Do you remember, I just recently came across this and it really brought me back. In the. Dinosaurs? Dinosaurs. Dinosaur family or whatever that is.
Starting point is 01:08:42 No, no, no. Actually. So an animated cartoon. This is, I'm using cartoon kind of loosely here uh there was a show on cartoon network back in the day and it was called space goes coast to coast oh yeah do you remember that oh yeah you do yeah okay now this i don't know how i remember seeing it out when i was when i was a kid and it was clearly above my head because it was kind of almost like a talk show. The TV would drop down, and there'd be real people.
Starting point is 01:09:09 And there was Space Ghost and Zorak and Brack and all of these. Yeah, I remember that. And the weird guy that was in the smelting room or whatever. He was like the whatever he did. But there's all these really unusual characters and the other day somehow i came across on youtube uh they had an album like a comedy album and we we got i had this album when i was in like third grade it was one of the first cds i ever owned in my life and it was just like a dumb, they sing songs,
Starting point is 01:09:45 there were some skits on it and they sing songs but it was just dumb stuff the whole time. And I'm like, holy shit. Like I sent it to my brother and he's like, whoa,
Starting point is 01:09:51 this is insane. And like totally taking us back to like being in third grade. And I asked a couple people and the few people I talked to were like, I don't really remember, I don't really remember
Starting point is 01:10:01 Space Ghost at all. Coast to coast. So I didn't know if I was just kind of like in a weird island where, I don't remember watching it that much but i very do you remember i certainly remember it and i mean it was based on that old there was an actual like the but yeah space ghost cartoon i don't know if they actually called it space ghost but whatever it was but yeah any that that took me on a trip i'm sure there's maybe a couple people listening
Starting point is 01:10:22 i think the album was called space ghost Backyard Barbecue, I believe. And if you do look it up, any skit with Brack, that guy's voice is insane. He sounds like a crazy person, and it's worth looking him up. A little comedy, not Comedy Central, a Cartoon Network classics. Yep, yep, for sure. All right, so that wraps up our overrated underrated segment uh a very underrated segment very it is the most underrated segment probably you're you're talking about with with uh lifting large that it's the cyber monday as if you're hearing this so it also applies to our massonomic stuff it does so to make sure to check everything out

You know, we should have done the Michael Scott thing where he goes to sales, and every time he makes a sale, he wants to blow the train horn. We should have done that on that podcast. Every time an order comes in, just blow the train horn. Actually, we don't really do that anymore. And then we've just been blowing the train horn for the whole episode here.
Starting point is 01:11:56 We would have. You wouldn't have been able to hear anything. It would have kind of been like last week's episode. Recording from a train yard.
