And if there is nothing else to talk about, why don't we begin our final chapter?
I'm not sure if you're live, but hopefully when we get there it'll be smooth sailing.
Sorry, that was a terrible pun, and Chris rubbing off on me.
Anyway, we've got to get you there first, so maybe the smooth sailing was a bit premature.
Kenny's friends seem nice though, or at least scared enough of their deal with her not to
be hostile at all, which is impressive when Trig and Rad are looking for a fight.
That wasn't fair of me, especially without Rad said before we went to bed.
It seems like he's gone from one scary patron to another.
At least this one's not trying to eat us yet though, so that's an improvement.
Even with our specially rigged bottle, this ship is faster.
The Saffron Serpent.
Being in the expanse with a big ship does feel a bit safer than ours.
Funny that Kenny talks about working on a pirate ghost ship, and then it appeared.
They gave her a nice name, the Golden Angel of the South Seas.
I wonder how long she was out here with them.
I wonder how far we'll make it before the Navy's short.
Apparently the truce is breaking down, which isn't really a surprise.
The expanse is massive, but with our luck...
I won't take any chances with the Sasanians finding you.
I'm not going to tell you horror stories for bedtime, but as long as I'm breathing and you're ours, they won't touch you.
I know the others feel the same.
Someday, Anker, Trig and I will deal with them and you won't have to worry any more, hopefully,
before you even have the memories of worrying in the first place.
I know you can't understand me just now.
I don't want to risk something stupid happening when I cast a spell, especially now that everyone's finally asleep.
Some boss sure does snore, huh?
Still, I hope you remember us.
I hope you remember the good things like playing on the beach or sailing in the sun.
I hope you remember your loved.
Even if the island doesn't work out, you'll always have a home with us.
It's midnight afternoon and you guys have been sailing on the Saffron Serpent for about two days now, under the helm of Bede Reed, the captain.
You guys are on the top deck.
Bede's examining charts, looking at how much the rest of your travels will be.
Eventually, one of Bede's crew approaches him.
It's a dwarven woman with blackish hair.
She goes up to him and says, Captain, we have a message coming from the Foxtrotter down south side.
Bede looks and gives her a nod and she goes away for a moment and returns with a small kenku.
He's not the one that's sitting up on the crow's nest.
He actually has small little spectacles on the bridge of his little beak.
He's carrying a bunch of scrolls in his hand and he comes up to the table that Bede has his charts on.
He starts to pull out a scroll and lay it flat for him and sits at a stool.
He looks at the rest of you guys and he gives you a greeting nod.
He introduces himself, which is the sound of a scroll being unraveled in these quick little etchmarks.
The dwarven woman later tells you his name is Scribe.
Kenny, you would know this being on pirate ships that communication between vessels are often used with kenkus.
Kenkus are kind of like little code makers.
Each ship kind of has one.
Captains will send messages to those kenkus and then they'll relay it to the captain giving a code to kind of speak.
Each captain has a way of communicating with one of their little kenkus.
But Scribe just starts to unfurl the scroll and he just starts to draw and he starts to make this really beautiful set of illustrations of four ships traveling on the South Sea.
He just continues to draw it out and Bede starts to read it.
And he says, the foxtrotter has spotted four Sasanian naval ships leaving Sarenport and heading South East.
He continues to scroll through the various like drawings and he says,
I wonder if this might be the ships that you guys were talking about.
They seem to be moving at a very rapid pace.
Cool.
And we get to blow them up.
There's no doubt they're coming for us, you know what I mean?
Let's just see how far we can get before they catch up to us.
He kind of like shows you guys the chart and he says, well, by what I see it, we'll make it on the first day of the end of summer,
on the first day that the portal will open for this island from what you guys say.
The question is, if what you said is true and it's two days that the portal will be available and open, what will happen on the second day?
So we might have to wait around?
Maybe. I don't know if the portal closes and never opens again once you pass through. I don't know how this works.
I believe what you're saying is that when we come into dock, if we get there on the first day,
it's possible that the Sasanians will catch us at the island on the second day.
Yes, that's one possibility.
That would give us enough time to create some sort of defense,
whether it's outside the portal or inside, we can at least be prepared for when they come.
I'd rather fire them off from shore, personally.
We can't let them come in through the portal, though.
It may be our best shot at stopping them permanently. We've seen them run from us in the past.
I'd like to know for good that whoever this is, we've taken care of them.
I mean, if the portal closes with us in their minutes, that means we're all there until next summer.
That ain't so bad.
That would give us time to thoroughly derail their plans.
I mean, aren't there supposed to be like super magical elves and stuff on this island?
I mean, surely they don't want a couple of randos coming in. I'm talking about the Sissians.
I think that if they are on the other side, whatever this island looks like on the other side,
honestly, we have no idea, but I think you're right, Rad.
If they are there, they'd be duty bound to protect her from the beginning.
At least that's what Tenguatol spoke to.
We've got to be focused on just getting there as soon as possible,
and if we do get there and the island's not visible, then we've got to hold our ground one way or another.
I'll create a crazy big storm that people can't see us in. Maybe that'll buy us some time.
Perfect.
Scribe, did you happen to know how many people were on each ship?
He sits there for a moment and kind of like tilts his head back and forward,
and he just starts to scribble something down, and Bede just kind of looks over,
and he says from what they could have told or what they relayed that it was a full fleet.
So it's full crew.
That's like hundreds, right?
Four ships, possibly, yes.
Captain Reed, I know that we've asked a lot in you assisting us to this island in the first place,
but would you be comfortable fighting alongside us if it comes to that?
Wait, I'm sorry, how many people did you say? 200?
It's four ships, and from what was relayed, it was a full fleet of crew.
So you're talking about a crew of 200?
Yeah.
Nice.
That's no problem. I can kill 200 people from shore if you give me a day.
That's not an issue.
Sure, go admire your confidence in yourself.
We know what we're getting ourselves into, but are you prepared, Captain?
Well, I wasn't asked to fight, but...
200 crewmen, that'd be quite a tale for you to spread around.
Quite a tale, but even I'm not a fool to take on the entire fleet by myself.
How about this, if you help us out, you get three of the four boats and we'll take the one.
But even at that, I'm just one ship, one ship versus a fleet.
That's a lot to ask.
But you won't be up against a fleet, we'll be fighting them from shore.
From shore.
Completely flips the power dynamic.
This is just a strange idea, but we have a couple of people.
Does anyone who can, I don't know, make the ship invisible while we draw them in,
and therefore they're focused on us and they don't see an invisible ship just coming up from behind?
But we're planning for something we don't really know, but...
I think we kind of have to talk this through, because there might be a way of
using the ship either as a distraction or something like that,
but honestly, if I could get onto one of the ships, I could do that cool trick.
I was hoping to show the old captain here.
Bet, or is anybody familiar with the concept of a fire ship?
Is that a ship on fire?
A ship on fire.
All wonderful ideas.
Sounds like what it is.
Well, let's keep a lot of this planning open to when we've seen past the portal.
That way we can know whether we'll have the elves' support or not, or if there's even an island.
It's possible that our faith is misplaced, but we have to find out when we get there.
If we're arriving tomorrow, I can send them a message and get them some sort of response, I think.
I've never used the spell before, but I can definitely send them something.
The folks on Algenon?
If we're close enough, I think the sparkly folks have reception.
We'll see.
But I can try.
I mean, it's worth a try.
Awesome.
Any extra time they have to prepare might be worth it.
We have that colony of Genasi, who's sworn to help when the time came.
Maybe we can call that in.
Please send message to Rain, yeah.
I doubt they'd get here in time.
Who's going to say?
They are on the other side of the continent.
That's a good point.
Well, if they're a day away, then who knows what time they could make up while the fleet is still incoming.
They're moving four ships strong.
I imagine they're moving in a slower pace.
It's worth a shot.
The more the merrier when we're dealing with a crew of 200.
I think at this point all ideas are good ideas.
What if we had some people hidden underwater?
We've got some walk of breathing.
I can cast water breathing on us.
Some of us can hide underwater and try and take the ships down before they get through.
Yes.
We should think of somewhere to keep her on as well, the most defensible position possible
once we've seen her through the terrain.
Well, yeah, once she's there, the elves will take her.
Hopefully.
Having someone go ahead if at all possible would be good.
And if we can make anything invisible, maybe just make whatever that vessel is.
Just send them a couple yards ahead.
Well, we have two boats.
Well, if we send the big boat through with the crew, the drop off, Baron, and prepare some sort of a defense.
And we have another crew that is probably a suicide mission.
Take out at least one or two of those Sasanian ships.
I worry about splitting us up.
We work better together.
I don't really think we have disposable people.
And she's going to look towards the captain.
Do we?
We don't have.
I could send the message out, but I can't guarantee anybody would come.
Well, you're pirates, aren't you?
The whole point of you is trying to fuck up the Navy.
And you've got some coming into your territory.
Well, that's true.
But we're also...
Could be fun.
No, could be.
They're pirates, too.
They also look out for their own necks.
That's true.
But imagine the gold.
Imagine the ship.
I think the most pirates are going to meet is once the battle is over.
I mean, it's with a shot.
I can try.
I can have Scribe send something out.
There's no promises.
That works for us.
Thank you, Reed.
I think we have a good skeleton of plan here.
We should continue planning when we arrive, when we know the terrain.
And we should decide whether we're on the defense or the offense.
Trig, I already know your stance.
And you guys continue on for the rest of the day making haste towards Algernon.
And eventually the day kind of treads into the night.
Is there anything else you guys want to do before we press on?
Rad will go to the top of the pole that he's met that Kenku on
and just kind of like poke his head out and try to be friendly to him and apologize.
Okay.
Roll a persuasion check.
My name's Rad.
I am sorry for kind of scaring you earlier.
It's just my way of, I don't know.
My persuasion is an eight.
The moment you pop your head up, he just kind of pressed himself up against the wall.
You can just hear the sound of like panic breathing.
I'll apologize to him.
Yeah, I'll just pull out like a kind of interesting looking piece of coral or something that I found
and I'll just leave it on the ground and just go away from him.
You do that.
You hear some rustling of feathers and stuff like that up as you kind of like climb down, but that's it.
He doesn't like squawk at you or anything.
I think that I'm going to go down into the SSFF and I'm going to spend some of the night working on that tapestry
I was making for the sale, sort of our story and continue where I left off with the oil paints
and just try and take my mind off the trip.
I'll probably risk casting tongues to talk to Baron.
Okay, since we're getting so close.
Yeah, it's about time.
Let's see how we start.
It's fine, it's fine today.
I'll also probably cast water breathing so everyone has water breathing, at least a bar.
Yeah, roll that again.
Seven, we're okay.
Okay, Kenny Shoddy.
I just talked to Baron for the night.
Okay, I wanted to just run by Shoddy really quick.
We don't have to make anything of it, but I just wanted to remind you that when I was holding your organs in my hands through your skin
during the exam that I did several days ago, I just wanted to let you know that you're a normal, healthy team.
So just, this is me trying to reassure you.
I'm sorry, I'm just very nervous about the next few days.
Thank you, that's very comforting.
I honestly had forgotten you did that.
We kind of got distracted, but thank you.
Are you doing okay?
You saw things in the forest, and I saw things in the forest, and the things I saw were very upsetting, and I think you were crying too.
So I just wanted to check on you.
Yes, I'm doing okay.
It was hard, but I wanted to see what I saw, and I want to go back and see it again.
It's fine, it's fine.
Thanks Kenny.
Yes, well, healthy team, goodnight.
She calls her.
Small trick.
As soon as our little powwows are broken apart, they're going to go to a question.
Who has Baran?
Me.
The usual.
Okay, where they're located at, I'm not going to interrupt, I'm not going to be involved.
I'm just going to be off in the corner, kind of meditating and being by Baran.
I'll say this, they're very kind of nervous and sad about the next coming day.
So they kind of want to just be around Baran's presence as they're meditating and seeing if they will get anything from their God.
Okay, Trig, are you doing anything?
Yeah, Trig saw the Kenku and he's thinking really hard about how one time he squashed a Kenku without relative, really, any effort.
And he's just concerned about how easy it is to kill a Kenku and that there's so many Kenku's around him.
And he's very scared.
Are you just like behind the Kenku as he's just like drawing and stuff?
Yeah, I'm watching the Kenku and I'm just thinking about how easy it would be to just Lenny that thing to death.
Oh, no.
Yeah, I mean, it's a couple hours, like Scribe is just sitting there just by candlelight, just drawing some stuff.
I got nothing better to do right now.
At some point in the evening while Snooval's close by, I'm going to rip that piece of taffy in half and give half to Baran and tell her to go give the other half to Snooval and like give her a hug or something.
Okay, yeah.
She wants to.
Give her a hug if you want to, but give her this.
Yeah, eventually, Snooval, as you're kind of quietly sitting there meditating, you just kind of feel something in your presence.
When you kind of like peek one of your eyes open, you just see a little Baran holding up a taffy like up in your face.
I will gladly take the taffy.
I will pick up Baran and I'm just going to kind of just sit, it will, will Baran let me pick them up?
Yeah, Baran like kind of reaches out and stretches.
I'm going to go ahead and put like Baran like off to the side and do like a thing where we kind of both tap our taffy and then just kind of munch along.
And just because of course, like you'll hear me growl per side thing, I'm just a light of the good treat and just be chilling and vibing.
Eli, is Asaue visible from where we are now on the boat or are we a little too far to see it off the horizon?
What a perception check.
Oogie.
Oh, he's so cute.
A 17.
You kind of look out to where you believe the Asaue is and like deep in the horizon because the sun is like pretty much setting and it's getting late.
You can kind of make out like just on the horizon, something that looks like landform that you assume is one of the tips of Asaue.
But that's about as far as you can see from from where you're at currently.
Okay, I think tonight I'm going to sleep on the raft with, you know, my head focused off on that horizon looking out to where it probably is.
Okay.
Yeah, the rest of you guys kind of just settle into your evening.
And so after you enjoy your taffy, you go back to your meditation and eventually you get kind of into the groove of things and you just kind of roll back into your space.
And then as you're kind of like trying to meditate and like once you get to that place, you just eventually you just start to kind of feel like just waves and racks of emotions that nervousness of the next coming days.
The reflection of the days prior and something that and eventually you kind of just hear a voice.
And you hear just a voice say really hard to meditate with all that pounding in your heart.
Would you like to explain more?
Why don't you tell me?
I'm concerned about the upcoming days and what is going to be required of me.
What are you expecting?
I'm expecting to lose a lot of people I've grown to care for.
When the master sent you out on your mission, what was the expectation?
I was told to go out and follow the path you laid before me and destroy anything that is against our order.
And what have you learned?
Things are not as black and white as what we are taught.
And that bothers you?
It confuses at angers and it saddens me because I'm for the first time I'm actually scared about these people who I've unfortunately grown attached to.
And I haven't grown attached since my friend was exiled.
Before the path I've laid you to, gods of death came your way.
What did you learn from them?
They're actually more cruel than death needs to be.
It's all about them and it's not about the natural order of life and death.
It's for only for them.
It's very interesting.
It's been an interesting journey.
And how is the flexibility treating you?
About that.
It's not easy.
And like I said, that's why I'm getting a lot of confusion and anger and sadness is because everything I was taught or brought to me was...
Let's just say, it's very different than honor.
It's very different from hope.
I'll say that for sure.
Am I living up to your standard stuff?
This is your first pilgrimage to the world and you still have much to learn.
I can't even describe it. It's so much.
The reason why I say flexibility in death is because as neutral as it can be.
There is pain and emotion and suffering that comes around it and you have to accept that that exists as well.
Your greatest flaw is believing that there is nothing but apathy in death and you cannot learn anything more until you accept that.
It's so much easier to be that way.
Death is not an easy task and there are many ways to die.
Very well.
With that, you don't hear a voice past that point. You continue to meditate if you wish as the night continues on.
I'm actually going to get up and whoever is asleep, I'm going to kind of just walk by and just check on everybody.
And if they're not, I'm just going to do a nod and keep moving.
And where are you going?
Just around.
Just to see where everybody's at.
I assume at this point everybody is asleep in either one of the cabins, unless someone's planning to stay awake with the exception of Anchor who's on the raft.
Kenny's just going to be up talking to her goddess.
So are you like that?
She's so cute.
Let me know because I can make it.
We're not going to kill a bunch of people.
Just let me know.
There's going to be gold.
It's going to be good.
All right.
That's it.
That's probably all you hear.
You sneeze of all as you kind of are praying.
She kind of just stands off in the background.
Are you going to go down to the other ships, Neville?
I will, but I'm not going to disturb Anchor.
If I can just look and see him, that's fine.
You see him on the deck from the top of the ship.
You can see him kind of just laying out.
He's scribbling and painting along his tapestry, just to himself.
I'm going to just keep moving along.
You move on eventually until you see every single person, whether they're sleeping or praying or doing whatever that is they're doing.
But eventually you'll go to sleep and goes into the next day.
There's nothing much going on on the ship for a good lot of the day as you guys just kind of anticipate the call of landfall and towards the edging into the sunset.
Eventually you hear a squawking noise coming from the crow's nest as the kenku above starts pointing in a direction towards the front of the ship.
Eventually one of the bells starts to ring on the deck as crew members are busily running around the deck, trying to get ready for what they see as landfall.
You guys want to look?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, is that a question?
I'll take brawn up shoes as you can see.
What you guys see in the sunset is what looks like the shape of an island shrouded in limist.
And the sun is kind of at your guys' back at this point as it's starting to kind of set in the west.
Two people will meet perception checks.
I got it.
I'll go too.
Oh, I sure that I got it.
15.
None.
I mean, Trig, you only see what everybody mostly sees is just an island kind of shrouded in mist.
It's kind of more of like a silhouette.
But you, Shodi, as you bring brawn up to the front of the ship and look on, you kind of notice that there's like a silver shimmery net to the front of the island as you guys continue forward.
And as you do, you guys eventually kind of pass through this shimmery wave and you can see it, Shodi.
Eventually, as you guys cross over into the portal, you see a large island with large cliffside peaks that kind of stretch all the way to the sky.
And as you guys cross over, you guys notice that the time of day has kind of shifted.
It's no longer sunset here where you guys are at, but actually sunrise as the sun is starting to rise in the east and you guys continue forward.
You guys have two choices.
You guys can bring Beidey's ship all the way into port or you can leave it out at port and bring your ship in if you would like.
Why don't we take our ship?
Small landing party.
Yeah, we can come back for him if we need to.
Okay.
You're going to leave Beidey on the ship?
Yeah.
If he'll allow it.
Well, maybe we could bring Beidey and then maybe Scribe can take over the galleon.
That way he's abreast of the situation too if we start planning.
Unless you guys thinking something different.
I mean, what if the Sissians show up?
The ship needs a captain.
That's true.
That's true.
Do we leave them as a card?
Yeah.
If they'll let us.
Yeah.
That way they'll die and give us a chance to pull a plane together.
Okay.
I know them.
They're friends of friends, so technically they're friends.
If we're a day ahead, then maybe it is best if Beidey just stays on the ship.
We can come and get him if anything changes in that direction.
I can send him a message too.
Actually.
That's true.
Yes, we have.
Okay.
So you guys are jumping on your boat.
I'll wait here for you.
Just give me the word when you need me.
I'll be here.
You will.
Thank you is what he means.
Right.
All right.
So you guys get on your ship and you disembark off the Saffron Serpent.
Beidey is kind of watching as you can see his banana eel just kind of perking up as he
watches you guys head into shore.
So you guys pulled into port on your ship.
There isn't like a really much of a traditional dock, but there's a shallow bay that as you
guys enter, you guys can find a place to lay anchor and kind of jump off as you guys kind
of get closer.
You see like just cascading waterfalls over top of ragged cliff sides.
It's just a giant flourish of green.
We see some types of structures as you guys kind of set into this bay area that has waterfalls
are pouring out of these parts of the structures and it looks to be even tangled with the growth
of the island and the forest.
And as you guys get settled on shore, you're eventually greeted by a party of humanoids.
As they got to get closer, they're quite tall, slender.
They're wearing very beautiful and fancy robes.
Some of them have skin that's kind of looks very pale and like almost like shimmers like
the moon and others are very tawny and it looks like their skin is like kissed by the
sun and they're quite tall and beautiful and they kind of approach gently.
They call out, who are you?
This is Barone and we're her six moms.
Hello.
God, they're gorgeous.
I'm anchor of the order of the ballast.
We were sent here from Tenguatol to deliver to you precious cargo.
They look at each other the rest of the group and they eventually look back at you and they
say, follow us as they start returning back down the coast and onto a path that looks
like it's heading towards these, the structure.
Eli?
Yes.
While we do that, can I go ahead and like look into them really quick?
Sure.
Before we go, are you guys following them?
Yeah, I think so.
No, I think so.
Okay.
As you guys are following, you kind of get as close as you feel comfortable and you kind
of cast into your sense and what you see is the rows of all their scales.
It seems like they have some type of magical energy to them and you sense a fair amount
of good in them.
Okay.
Rad is gonna go to anchor and say, dude, anchor, you're right.
They're incredible looking.
I mean, look how nice their asses are.
I know.
I don't know how you get them so round.
This whole place is so gorgeous.
It's like paradise.
It's paradise.
I can't believe we made it here, Rad.
One of the one of the elves kind of looks back, but they keep their attention forward
and they keep following going.
Do they have long ears?
Yes, they do.
This is gonna sound real weird coming from me, but you guys need to tone it down a little.
I'm sorry.
I thought we were whispering.
I think that anchor is like beat red and apologizing with you.
I was wrong of me.
I'm sorry that I spoke that way, that I agreed with it.
I promise I will restrain myself in the future.
It was actually quite funny.
You know, maybe someone other than me should ask this, but we should tell them as soon as
possible.
We should talk to their leaders because those Sissians are coming, right?
They need to be ready.
I think that's what we're doing, Rad.
I think we've been the least offensive so far.
Me?
Yeah.
I've got the cave and everyone else is talking about elven asses, so...
I was just agreeing.
I wasn't talking about them.
I want to make that perfectly clear.
Oh, oh.
That's what makes it better.
It's like paradise.
And you didn't look up, anchor.
We saw you.
You were looking down and you said, it's like paradise.
It was coincident.
It's like, where?
He's looking completely vertical now.
At the fucking sky.
He's shielding his eyes.
I should say, you know, odd harassment, you know, suspended.
We are being followed by a navy.
And that should be something that we should discuss at some point.
We're going to get her situated.
You guys have been slowly led into this large palace building
and you're led into a great hall and it's made out of the stone
that's kind of what you've seen on the outside.
It seems very like cold and a little withdrawn,
but there's these beautiful set of stained glass windows behind
and there's a whole roof made of the stained glass
that kind of is casting multiple colors down along this dull, grey stone-like floor.
And at the end of the room is a small throne room
and the throne is kind of made out of stone.
And sitting there is an elven man with long white hair
and he's kind of just poisely staring at you
as you are being brought forth to him.
Yeah, Rad's just going to bow and like put his surfboard
kind of in front of him in an honorific way,
but he's not saying anything.
Yeah, I think Anchor takes out the tapestry
and lays it out in front of him.
Does the kneel thing from a million episodes ago.
Okay.
Yeah, I'll bow my head and keep boron in my arms, but...
Trig is standing just behind the rest of the group like this right now.
I'm so proud. I'm so proud.
I'm also just going to stand straight, but like hands clashed,
like, but also ready to go, like to cover Trig's mouth,
but see that they're doing a job,
so they just nod and just going to wait for Kenny to take leave.
Hello.
My name is Kenny.
These are my friends and we are here to drop off precious cargo.
I don't know how you want to be addressed.
She's going to turn back to the other elves.
Is this a king, a captain, president?
Ooh, with who am I speaking?
One of the set of elves that you had found on the coastline
approaches and is whispering something into his ear
as you begin to introduce you and your party.
They're both talking in Sylvan, so it's a little difficult to understand
unless anybody speaks Sylvan.
I don't think anybody does.
We don't know how to speak in Elbish.
We're all dumb bitches.
Yeah, so none of you understand.
Oh wait, hold up.
No, never mind.
That'd be hilarious.
I remember at one point we talked about it,
but no, we never went through with that one.
That'd have been hilarious.
You're the only one.
We should have committed.
As they're conversing, eventually he turns to you
and he says, my name is Oranus Sondono.
I am Hing here on the island of Algernon
and I welcome you all here.
Thank you.
Can we roll history checks on this?
Would we know any?
Is this name familiar at all to us?
What you've known throughout history,
there has never been elves that lived or resided on Ashoka
as long as Sasanian history is laid out
as far as Odenau in history.
There's been half elves that have existed,
so there has been like that,
there you know of it,
but full elves and stuff have never been seen
for centuries, generations.
It is a pleasure to be in your court, King Oranus.
My name is Anchor.
This was Kenny as we were saying.
We've brought you a very particular piece of cargo.
Really, it's our friend, Oran,
and she holds a piece of a very important weapon
from where we come from.
We were told to bring her to you
because this island could hold a safe haven for her.
It was the hope of the druid, Nock,
when he arrived here before to secure this place for Boran,
as my understanding,
and we have been waiting for you for quite some time,
and we're hoping to see your arrival on the first day,
and I'm glad that you have made it.
It's incredible.
Nock came to the island.
Yes.
Unfortunately, we don't come without some baggage.
We believe that there are Sisyon vessels
shortly behind us,
and they might show up soon.
We know that they're coming for the child,
but we don't know what destruction they bring with them,
so you might have to prepare your people in some way.
Four ships, full fleet.
Only 200 gas, though.
Really not that bad.
I think a greater danger lies in them knowing of your existence.
If the portals still open and they see the island,
but they don't reach it,
they may understand when it opens
and be back with more people, more ships next year.
He kind of frills his brow, as you say, next year.
Did he not explain to you that it's not a yearly thing?
So every 10...
So it's something like the solstice.
The solstice is when the portal can open, yes,
but it's a 10-year cycle before the portal
will be able to be opened again.
That completely changes all of our expectations and planning.
That changes a lot.
Even better, when does the portal close?
On the end of the second day of the solstice,
you can leave the island at any time,
but to return to the island will be impossible.
Oh, there you go.
Thank God.
Here's the thing.
What exactly happens to Buran on the island?
Does she just live here, or is there a way to...
I don't know, extract?
What's in her...
We're concerned about her as a person more than...
Well, about equally as much as we are concerned about her as a woman.
And Eli, while they're answering,
I'm going to be looking into Uranus
for any kind of deception or anything.
You can roll an inside check on him.
24.
24.
Oh, my bitch lied to me.
I mean, as you're kind of watching him
and you're kind of sensing more of his heart beats
and stuff kind of focusing on whether or not it upticks or changes,
he seems pretty steady for the most part.
He does elevate every now and again,
centered around the questions of when can he ask,
what he intends to do with Buran,
but everything else seems to be on the straight and narrow.
And he says that Buran's arrival here at Algernon
is an attempt to help her release the bond she has
with this particular stone,
or at the very least offer her some type of protection
from power-hungry eyes,
both in Odinau and in Sassan.
Is this because your people have a greater understanding
of what the stone really means?
We've been dying to find out what it actually does,
what it entails.
Roll a persuasion check.
Weak.
You got this.
25.
Oh, someone's smooth.
There's that plus seven score coming up
in the Big Week Samurai subclass.
My people were the ones who created the Soul Render.
Wow.
More than a little girl, because...
I think that was after its use.
You, as well as I,
if you've dabbled in the study of history,
know that old Ashoka is lost to time,
and even to us,
but our survival as a people here on Algernon
has always been because we left Ashoka away,
and from others like us,
who's ambitions outgrew their understanding of things.
And the Soul Render was one of those things.
And you will protect her.
You're not going to...
If you can't remember the stone,
what's going to happen to her?
She's just going to grow up.
Who's going to look after her?
I mean, we hope to take care of her as best as we can,
but we're just people that live here on this island.
We're not warriors.
We're not fighters.
We're just...
We understand things that many don't.
We have connections to, like, science and the arcane
and the magical world, but that's about it.
That might be all we need.
As long as she's safe, that's really what we're here for.
Well, that was the duty and the agreement we made with the druid.
If you have created the Soul Render,
then do you have any information on the other pieces?
No, but from the understanding of Nock, the druid,
that Buran might be the key of finding the rest of them.
She is the map, the pathway that leads to the remaining.
It casts a light in the sky from what he recalls.
We came from a jungle to be here with you,
and Buran touched a stone connected with the Soul Tree.
Does that have anything to do with that?
Perhaps it might be another stone.
It might be just the connections of the Feywild
and where our magic comes from.
The Soul Render itself connects one to many souls
and repurposes it as energy.
It can be a powerful thing and a destructive thing at the same time.
Do any of your people speak Arjanasi?
Or, I don't know what it's called, I'm sorry.
The language that the Arjanasi speak.
I might have someone on the island that might be able to translate.
Okay, well, I'd hate to just leave her here
without anyone who can understand her.
Some of us are magically inclined and might find ways
to better communicate, and she is a child,
and it's never too early to learn other languages.
Well, no, I'm not saying that, but some bit of comfort.
She's come a long way and everything's scary and weird,
and she's seen enough.
She needs some semblance in Arjanasi.
You know, guys, we're talking about all this stuff,
but if the portal's gonna close tomorrow, we need to get out.
But if we get out, we'll probably come across those ships,
so it's practically suicide.
We don't need to get out.
They already said we could leave any time we want.
We can stay here and fend off the ships from the shore,
and we can leave whenever the hell we want.
We got no time limit.
Sounds good.
Okay.
Yes, as long as we're ready for when they come through,
we can fight them off there,
make sure that we take them off one by one.
Eli, do we remember how big the portal was?
Would it be enough for all four ships to come in at the same time?
From what you could tell, the portal was big enough to allow a large ship.
It seemed to be as large as the horizon.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, seems like to just reflect the space that you guys were traveling through,
but you don't know how big it was.
Question to the group really quick.
Would it just be easier if we all left and then took off
so we can have those four follow us out so they don't find the island?
Well, they know the island's here.
To be honest with you, I think that could be...
Sorry.
I don't know if I fully trust these guys yet.
Oh, yeah, no, no, no.
Yeah, you're right.
I'm worried about the experiment they're going to do.
If we got to stay close to Braun and I think that's a good idea,
then yeah, we need to take the rest of our time now to plan how to eliminate these ships.
You, Mr. Kingman, do you have anywhere that sells like chemicals or something?
He doesn't seem to understand your question.
Do you got anything that when you heat it up or you put pressure on it, it goes pop?
I mean, we do have an alchemist.
He'll do, point me in the right direction.
He calls some guards and summons some guards for you and he leads you down somewhere to another room out of the chamber.
Perfect.
This seems good.
Okay.
Your highness, do you have any troops that you can muster for us down by the docks or in ships, some sort of navy?
I know that you're not soldiers, but must have someone you can spare.
I mean, we have a few men who might be able to defend the land or willing to some members of the court,
but that's about it.
We don't have an army of people.
Is there a piece of the terrain that we're not aware of that if a ship were to get caught or like rocks or something that could help us?
Yes, there are some residual islands that kind of scatter out around that are kind of uneven.
There's more shallow parts around that area, but that's about it.
You said the portal is as big as the horizon, but what if we use magic somehow to make it seem like it's just one single door and then put something in front of that door?
That's a great idea.
I think that's great.
I wonder, does the hallucinatory terrain have to be on this side or that side for when they enter?
I've got to be within a certain distance to be able to cast it in the spot.
And technically, this is another plane, so maybe we should have Rad go out to the galleon on the other side and we can trick them that way.
In fact, maybe we could go with what Snuvall suggested, making it look like we're out running them.
Maybe we make it look like we arrived at the same time they did and we go through the same small portal so that they agree with the idea.
They follow along.
Yes.
And then the smaller ship is waiting on the other side.
Exactly.
Yeah.
I just need to keep one of my spell slots, but I can totally do that.
Okay.
Then once they're through, if we could get Rad onto their ship, we can do your big plan.
Exactly.
I'm sure Treg will come up with something that will pop.
While you guys are doing that, I kind of want to see where they're going to take Baron to make sure.
Yes.
I just want to make sure that all this wasn't for nothing and that we are leaving her in very good hands.
Well, I'm comfortable going to speak with Captain Reed and forming him of the situation if you all want to stay with Baron.
And Rad, you can come with me since this is a lot of your doing.
Anyone else is invited.
I think I'll go with Snuvall and Baron.
Kenny?
I want to go with both.
That's difficult.
Just know the people.
We have time to reconvene before all this goes down.
Yes.
This won't be a chance.
We'll only be very hurt emotionally.
Maybe you need to keep your eyes on the boys so they don't get distracted by the chicks.
The chicks on the other side, so...
Snuvall, Shoddy, please keep a detailed list of all of the conditions in which Baron will be kept so I can draft the contract when I come back.
Perfect.
I'm hoping to say that.
Yes.
Good.
Good.
Also, please do not allow Trigg to destroy all of whatever castle this is.
I think he'll be okay.
He knows Baron's living here now.
Oh, I'm sure.
He cares about her, right?
Yes.
Much more than he cares about explosives.
Right?
That's a good point.
Not as much as his trinkets, but very high up there.
Oh, no, that's even worse.
Imagine the trinkets out of this place.
I think Baron's in the center.
Explosions are here.
Trinkets are there.
And Baron's smack in the middle.
But that's only my own guessing.
I'm not actually sure if that's true.
I hope that's true.
Okay.
Well, I'm going down to the docks.
So, of course, we should all hug and say goodbye and then meet back up later today.
We're going to chance to see her again.
All right, everybody.
Of course, but we should celebrate.
We made it to the lost island.
I guess that's a good point.
Yeah.
I did it.
Holy shit.
Probably so.
Great.
We'll celebrate tonight.
Yes.
All right.
You do a quick hug.
You all separate.
Bye.
Trink, you've been like kind of led down.
Roaming perceptive, Jake, because you're walking through the halls and shit.
18.
You see more of the stone of that actual like room as it's like this whole entire structure
was just like carved out of the side of the mountain that there doesn't seem to be like
a difference in stonework that just seems to be all made of the same stone, but there's
while we're while we're walking, I turned to the garden.
So how'd you guys carve all that stone out?
I'm I'm not I'm not sure this has been here for centuries.
So you don't know if it was like artificial or natural?
I imagine we had our ways to do it.
I guess.
I don't know.
Was it built using additive or subtractive methods?
Additive and subtractive methods.
He starts like mumbling something in like Sylvan.
As if his comments not very good.
And he's trying to figure out what it is that you're saying to him.
Never mind.
It's it doesn't matter.
Just take me to the whoever I'm going to.
He leads you down a couple of hallways and he takes you to a room.
See it seems to be like an alchemist's laboratory of some kind.
You notice is that you see something that kind of reflects some of the scribblings and drawings
you've been kind of doing over your time on the ship of in terms of like trajectory and
weaponry and stuff like that kind of on on a chalkboard of some kind tucked away in a corner.
Finally somewhere where I can belong.
Trig has gone full good will hunting.
He's going to solve the math problem on the board right now.
Out of another room comes another elf.
He seems much older.
He can actually kind of see some of a slight like wrinkling in his face.
He's got shorter white hair and even like tufts of like hair in his ears.
And he kind of has like large like spectacle glasses and he looks at you and he speaks
to you in common.
Who are you?
My name is Trig.
Do you have any nitroglycerin?
He laughs and he says no but I know how to make some.
Do you have any nitric acid and sulfuric acid?
Yes I do.
What about sawdust?
I think that's easily attained sawdust.
Perfect.
Who are you?
I said my name's Trig.
Okay that's your name.
I mean that's what folk call me.
Barrel.
Shake your hand.
Nice to meet you Barrel.
And what do you need all of this for?
Oh there's a bunch of big ships coming in and we have a little girl and I want to make
the big ships go pop.
Right.
He kind of like looks over at the guard and he mentions something in Sylvan to him.
Well if that's what the king has ordered to do I can get you what you need.
And I guess I can start making you some of that nitroglycerin.
You don't got to do anything.
Just give me a couple gallons of nitric acid and sulfuric acid and some sawdust.
And maybe like some wrapping paper and a fuse and I'll do the rest.
Give me just the moment while I get all of that together.
He kind of like keeps like eyeing you very cautiously as he goes.
Inker, Radd and Kenny you guys are taking your ship back to the Saffron Surfin.
Easy enough for you guys to do as you guys kind of climb up the rung ladder and back onto the deck.
As Bede is just kind of casually he's like stroking his little banana eel underneath his chin just casually just waiting.
And he sees you guys and he's like so what's up?
What's news?
What are we doing?
Well, we have an interesting proposition for you in the hopes that you'll want to cooperate with this.
We know that they're coming.
We've met with the elves.
We have a plan for feeding the Sasanians through the portal and then destroying them one ship by one ship so that we're not projected to the entire fleet.
But it will take some doing and it will take some fast sailing.
He kind of like strokes his beard a little bit for a second and he asks,
did they say about anything about compensation and pay?
Just curious.
These don't seem like the kind of people that care about money.
And in addition to that, they're doing us the favor, not the other way around.
That's our job, unfortunately.
That is to say we could discuss numbers, a debt, maybe even something with the order.
Honestly, dude, if you just go ashore and you see these beautiful people, it'll be payment enough.
I assure you.
They are gorgeous, just ethereal.
They're ghost-like, but god-like at the same time.
They look at you and you feel small, so small in a good way, the best way.
What exactly were you considering in terms of payment?
Well, good old-fashioned gold, Kenny.
It makes the world go round.
Keeps my crew fed and safe or make it worthwhile.
What if we promised you all the spoils from each of the four ships?
Or some of the spoils after looking at Kenny, some of the spoils from the four ships.
We should huddle, we should huddle.
Time out, time out, time out.
You guys negotiate the worst.
Hold on, hold on.
Betty just extends her hands, like, oh, go ahead.
I think I made a misstep, I'm sorry.
Sweet friend.
What?
No, we'd never...
I didn't think we'd need it, we're going on vacation with the elves.
They don't seem like a money-first sort of people.
Aye, we can't promise all of the spoils.
We can promise 25%.
Maybe one ship's worth, and we don't tell them which ship.
We give them the smaller ship, and so this goes.
I just feel like that's being dishonest, we don't need this money.
Do we?
I have a lot to make right, and it's going to require a lot of gold.
And, I mean, I assume the others also want money for whatever they need as well, but we...
It's not dishonest, this is just how pirates are.
I don't think anyone, well, yeah, I guess we were being dishonest.
I'm fine with that.
We should be leaving the whole negotiation anyway.
Yeah, maybe I took too much of a bite there.
I appreciate where your heart is at.
Okay, we go back in, and I won't even say a single ship.
In fact, maybe I should play hardball.
I'll tell him lack of ship, in fact, we keep everything.
Angers don't say anything, let Kenny talk about, talk through.
Okay, I'm gone.
Don't hate that approach, back me up.
But don't force it, you know?
I mean, he's my friend, but we're going to lie to him.
As friends, lie to each other.
Do you lie to me?
No.
Okay.
Good talk.
So you're going to come back out of your huddle?
All right.
Maybe he's just standing there.
We do need your help.
In exchange for your help, we have the finest ship of the
indeterminate number of ships that we will face,
and all the spoils that come with it.
And how much of the spoils I privy to?
What are you thinking?
Well, if there's four ships and you get the one, it would be 25.
If there's five, it would be 20.
If there's three, it would be 33, do you understand?
Yes.
I want half.
That's complicated.
What if we did three eighths?
Roll a persuasion check.
Three eighths.
I did roll a nine, so.
Rolled a nine.
Yeah.
I want half, Kenny.
Read.
We think about our time together.
We've been aware of each other for so long, and we're practically
sibling hate.
As friends, or one of those, I think the best thing that we can do is
try to survive and celebrate what spoils we get.
The three eighths of the spoils that we get.
And half of the spoils will be excellent for us to celebrate under
even 50-50.
I'm going to consider the fact that Trig will probably destroy
an eighth of the spoils on his own.
Is that what you're telling Betty?
No.
I'm thinking about it, and picturing the look on Trig's face
when he found out there was an alchemist.
You know what?
Yes.
We'll pick your ships, but you will get half.
He looks at his little banana eel.
Are you lying to him?
No.
I will pick the most fucked up ships, and I will give it to them.
Roll more persuasion check.
That's a 13.
Strokes his beard, puts out his hand to you.
Seems fair.
I'm glad you think so, and shake his hand.
Can I make an insight check on Betty?
Go for it.
Hey, 18.
Betty looks very coy and very posed.
He seems like he's not lying, but you do know he's a pirate.
Yeah.
You know the pirates could be unpredictable,
even with a nice little charismatic smile on their faces.
Mm-hmm.
So what's the plan then?
And then she's going to sidestep.
What is his grand plan that we're all involved in?
Well, I mean, I have to think about it.
My hallucinatory terrain spell doesn't create the illusion of like an entrance,
so I wouldn't be able to create this portal.
I have major image, but that's only a 40 foot tall anything.
I think their ships are going to be bigger than 40 feet tall from the surface.
So, I mean, maybe they'll follow us if they're chasing after Bay Day ship.
Maybe we just use it as a lure to take them in the direction we want them to go.
Yeah, man.
Maybe I create a storm everywhere except where we want them to go.
I mean, could we not just create smaller rocks?
It doesn't have to be a grand entrance.
It just has to be like a wall or like a series of big stones.
Sort of just like trying to close.
Yes, out of the water we can make the surface of the water look like there's a very large wall.
A wall, doming in the horizon, so they have to go in after us.
I don't think so because my illusion can only be so big.
I could create like an optical illusion of like ships in the distance and stuff.
I was thinking that would be kind of interesting if some Odinawan ships could be seen in the distance.
Like, I think I could make that kind of an illusion, but that's just going to distract them more than anything.
A major image, a smaller portal in the center of the horizon and make that seem like the more important one.
And then we sail through that, or I don't know.
I think the Odinawan ships is good.
It just has to be small enough to seem forgettable and be interesting.
If it's the only thing on the horizon, it's going to catch their attention.
I think our best bet is going to be using Bay Day's ship as bait.
As bait.
Because otherwise you're going to go in however they want.
I think sailing Bay Day's through the major image is a good idea,
or at least having the ships as the major image in the background works as well.
But you're right.
Kenny, how long does your enhanceability last?
Up to one hour.
Oh, okay.
So like, you could cast it on me and then I'd go in the water because I'm going to have to get up on their ship again.
Okay, yes, to be sneaky.
Yeah.
Okay, cool.
So make you sneaky.
You get on the ship.
Cast this major image.
I don't think I have to cast major image.
You guys with Bay Day's ship just keep luring them where we want them to go.
Yeah.
And maybe a trig plants a bomb or something under the water.
Like a landmine, you know what I mean?
That's true.
Kind of sounds like a plan.
We could get them in a single file with the mines.
That's great.
Perfect.
So all you have to do is sit there and look pretty.
I can do that.
Brad, I was talking to Reid, but you do always sit there and look pretty.
Oh.
He nods.
It sounds like a plan.
Shoddy and Snowball.
After the rest of the group had left, you guys had stayed within the main hall with
Baran.
Eventually, Aranis calls forth some guards and explains that there are accommodations
that they've made and stuff like that for you all as well as Baran, if you so wanted.
And they kind of lead you guys to her room.
It takes a while.
You get to like an eastern, like you, as you guys are traveling, you kind of see these
little courtyards behind waterfalls and it seems like a very beautiful and peaceful place
overall.
Does Baran look like she's interested in what's going on?
Like looking around with any kind of interest?
Yeah.
I mean, she's definitely like looking from place to place seeing and stuff.
She's, as you guys are walking, she kind of sometimes like points out and tries to like
show you like something that she sees.
That's pretty, yeah, you're right.
She seems a little excited as you're carrying her along.
They let you into a tower that has like various rooms and stuff and they open up a place that
would Baran's quarters and it's just a simple bedroom.
Nothing inherently fancy, but it's very big and it's got a bed and a small little desk
at it.
Is there a lock on the door?
Roll an investigation check.
Ten.
As you kind of look around, I mean, there's no like no bars on the windows and there's
no lock on the door either.
It looks like it's just a standard wooden door.
Do I see, like, is there anything, is there anything like a trap door?
I'm literally just kind of like scanning around.
Roll an investigation check.
I have an 11.
Yeah, I mean, you're patting on walls and you're slamming on the floor and stuff and
nothing seemed out of place.
There's nothing.
There are no trap doors.
There's no secret tunnels and stuff.
It looks like a regular old bedroom.
I'll turn to the guard who led us up here.
Who will be looking after her mainly?
Is there a nanny or will the king himself be?
I'm not entirely sure, but I imagine there would be someone in the court that would take
be responsible for her day to day needs.
Can you go find out for us?
Sure.
I can go find out for that.
Thank you.
While they leave, I'm just going to be...
Everything checks out.
There's no obvious signs of trap doors.
I was just looking for anything unusual.
Can't lock her in.
That's good.
The window's open enough, but is it like a sizable window?
Is it...
Yeah.
Okay.
You look at it and stuff like that and you can see...
It's pointed more towards inland and you can just see the waterfalls in the background
and the skyline of the growing mountain range.
It looks nice.
It's very nice.
I don't know if I tried.
It's nice.
What else is there?
A ship and us?
A ship.
At least NICE is safe.
That's true.
Well, once we thoroughly vet who's going to be looking after her...
I'm just going to have to send them into their lives, yeah?
I'm not going to say I'm not going to have some hoodlum.
I'm going to mess with Barone.
I mean, we put a lot of work into her.
As long as she's happy, that's what really matters.
No one's...
Exactly.
Taking advantage of her help you can do.
I'll put her on the bed and let her hop and hold her hands while she hops on the bed.
She seems pretty happy.
She likes looking around.
It's prettier than nothing of the ocean or all our faces.
I mean, really, it would be...
It'd be irresponsible.
I mean, look at us.
Oh, God.
I was thinking of Trit.
We love her, but we should be in charge of her.
And this is far away from anyone who can try and use her for time.
Yeah, right.
This is the best.
This sounds a lot like we're trying to convince ourselves.
This is kind of horrible, to be honest.
I haven't felt like this.
I don't like the idea of leaving her.
No.
This will be fine.
This is fine.
This is none other things.
This is safe and good.
This is not like anything else.
The guard eventually comes back and he says that from what he was told that the woman who would be in charge of Baran's care would be a woman named Kulana.
She's not currently available, but you would see her probably later for dinner or something like that in the day.
Would it be easier if we went to her instead?
Would that be easier for her schedule?
I'm not quite sure where she is.
They just said she was out and it's early morning.
I'm going to mutter to show to be like, and he's a God.
He's not in charge of the whole civilization.
He just takes care of people.
It's all right.
I apologize.
Thank you.
We appreciate your help.
Please let us know when she is available.
We've grown rather fond of Baran and just want to make sure she's taken care of.
Okay.
Should we just explore this area so we can feel more comfortable?
Yes.
You're free to walk about and explore if you want.
That's what you want to do.
We'll do that.
Trig, roll me a perception check as you're waiting for Baro to come back with your ingredients.
21.
You kind of just keep tinkering around and examining his stash and his vials and all that
he has kind of set up.
One thing you notice is that he does have this tube rack up on one of his shelves.
And as you look at it, it's got labels written on it of different various emotions.
One is says serenity.
One says passion.
One says clear conscience and the other one happiness.
Is there like a liquid in them or anything?
They're liquids of various colors.
I don't want to mess with emotions.
I'm the way to ask him what that shit's about.
As you continue to tinker around through his stuff, you eventually get up to his chalkboard.
It seems to have kind of like various like panels that you can kind of shift through.
And as you're kind of pushing one and two over, eventually you see kind of these like
schematic drawings for a ballista of some kind.
I could do better.
I go start writhing over his notes.
Okay, roll a performance check.
Sure.
Only a 12.
Only a 12?
Okay, you start kind of like erasing stuff and you're adding it, but it's clearly like
you're leaving like blatant smudge marks and writing over what he's doing.
Make sense to me.
As you continue to do that, eventually Barrow comes back and you can hear like the slamming of items down.
I set the chuck down really fast.
Roll a slight a hand check.
11.
You kind of get a little spooked by the sudden like slamming of stuff that you kind of like
clamor and like the chalk kind of jumps between both hands and you just kind of slam it down underneath the chalkboard.
But it's nothing to say here.
Just waiting.
Hey, do you got an assistant or something?
No, it's just just me.
That's too bad.
Okay, I changed my mind.
I'm actually going to need all of your help.
All right.
What are you trying to do?
So I want you to make nitroglycerin like you said, but most people's nitroglycerin is
not as good as my nitroglycerin.
So what I want you to do is follow the recipe on this piece of paper.
But now this is real important.
When you're through making it, you got to make sure that the liquid is completely clear because if it's brown, that's no good.
I can't use that.
It's got to be clear lack of vodka.
And then when you're done with it, I want you to mix it one to 10 with a bunch of sawdust until it makes a sort of paste.
And then I want you to take that paste and I want you to roll it like clay up into sticks.
Can you manage that?
He just sits there in awe of you.
I think I could do that for you.
Perfect.
No problem.
Do you got any black powder, gunpowder, cannonpowder, black magic?
No, none of that.
Do you have ammonium nitrate?
Yes, I have a small quantity of it.
That's okay.
I'll make some myself.
Well, you get to work doing that.
Oh, also, is there still a guard in the room?
Yes.
I turn to him.
Okay.
Do you have a blacksmith?
Yes.
Can you get them for me?
Sure.
Thank you.
He goes and sends one of the other guards to go get the blacksmith.
And like 20 or 30 minutes goes by as Borrier is making your nitroglycerin and you're doing
whatever it is you're doing.
Eventually the blacksmith arrives and he says I was summoned.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Come here.
Come here.
Come here.
Come here.
Come here.
Come here.
Come here.
Come here.
Come here.
So can you, can you make me lack, like I want like an iron or like an aluminum ball that's
about this wide and I like roll them over.
What are the like the sticks of like of clay that the other guy is rolling?
That's about this wide.
And then I want you to make springs on the inside of the box and then on the outside
of the spring on the outside of the sphere.
I want you to put like a plunger that presses down on the spring.
Can you do that for me?
Roll, roll me a performance check as you're attempting to relate this information.
Oh, God, please.
Hit in that 20.
Hit in that 20.
Dirty 20.
Thank you.
Okay.
You're like sizing in and you're, you're kind of just doing hand motions and he's just
kind of, first he's just like trying to figure it out, but eventually he kind of like starts
nodding his head like he kind of understands you and he's like.
The important thing for you to remember is this motion right here.
I think I could do it.
I think you'd try.
How many of those could you do in, say, five hours?
How big is it?
It's about 12 inches wide.
How many are you hoping for, Aaron?
If I could get the, if I could get the dozen off of him, I'd be real happy.
I can try to get you a dozen.
Just do, you know what?
Shoot for a dozen.
Get as many as you can.
No pressure.
It's not like there's an enemy fleeing.
Then coming or something that threatens you with everything that you love.
He looks at like the guards and like Barrow and they like start speaking something in
silver to each other.
You get the sense of like, who is this guy?
What the fuck is he doing?
Why the fuck is he saying stuff?
I'll just go back to rolling my blast in caps while you're talking.
Eventually the backsmith heads out and goes back to where he came from.
But I guess you're going to spend this whole time building, what exactly are you building
here?
Me and the alchemist are making, are making sticks of dynamite.
Okay.
We're tag teaming it.
He's making the explosive payload and I'm making blasting caps to trigger them.
And the blacksmith is making the shale structure for our sea mines that we are going to deploy.
And the plungers that he's putting on the exterior of the spear are going to press down
on the blasting cap, which is what's going to make the land mine or the sea mine.
I'm sorry.
Go pop.
Got it.
You spend that whole time building your little mines.
Is there anything else anybody needs to do before we push through towards the evening
and to the next day?
I think I'm helping Reed get the ship in position for making it look like a big chase down when
the ships arrive.
We're talking the, you know, the exact route we're going to take.
To make it a straight shot to the docks.
And I'm sure at one point I coordinated with the crazy, crazy man to see where the mines
are going to be on the other side.
Just game planning for when it eventually comes so everyone knows.
Does anchor go down there?
The talk to Trig in person?
You go down there and he's like, he's rolling like this weird black smelly stuff in between
pieces of paper and cardboard.
And he has like five bandanas tied around his face so he doesn't breathe any of it
in.
Hi, dad captain.
Hello, Trig.
How are things going?
I'd say they're going pretty well.
I mean, these idiots got no idea what's going on, but it's okay.
I'm keeping them straight.
Okay.
I'm going to put this map down and show you some pictures.
Is it okay to put it here or will we die?
I love pictures.
If I set this here, we won't die.
I can't say for certain, but it's worth a shot.
Fair enough.
And then I'll take the time of pointing in and making beautiful little sculptures on
the map so that Aaron and Trig can get excited on our plan here and then mark out exactly
where the mines are going to be once they come through that little channel.
The idea is that we pop one of them immediately, maybe on the other side of the gate if you
feel comfortable giving me one or two, that we split the middle.
And then as soon as they see that one ships down, when they reach the other side, they'll
know to follow us, not the mines.
That way we can pick them up.
I don't understand anything you just said.
All I heard was mine, but I think I got the gist of it.
Beautiful.
Glad to know we're both in the same place.
Do you need anything else while I'm down here?
No, I just wanted to say I'm very proud of you.
We wouldn't be able to do any of this.
Without you, Trig, you're really coming through.
You sure?
You don't want like a shirt that like blows up if someone punches you or something?
Because these guys can make that happen.
Wouldn't...
I...
No.
No, that's okay, Trig.
I've given it to you.
Okay.
No, thank you.
Next time.
Next time.
What do we think about getting Rad back onto the ship after he fucking turtle explodes
the first one or whatever it is?
If I sailed out with the raft to get him back on, so Rad's not an island.
Well, it's just got to be...
Like, my thought is we have a water mine for the first ship.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
I board the fourth ship and do what I'm going to do to the fourth ship.
So then we just have two ships in the middle.
And I have an idea about that.
Are we okay?
Shodi was thinking about casting water breathing, camping underwater, and then I have a lightning
bolt and it goes a hundred feet in a straight line.
So if we can set him up in a straight line, I can shoot through one and do another one.
Okay.
And I can do that three times.
So if I can just riddle it with lightning bolts.
So that sort of helps me because I've been thinking Anchor is a whole lot of help when
he can see someone within five feet of him, but he's not a whole lot of help when it's
ship to ship.
So if I'm with you, Shodi, we can...
Do you work underwater?
Yeah.
Like if I can protect you while you're casting your spells, then that way we're guaranteed
you're not going to get hurt during the lightning bolt thing and Sentinel attacks can take care
of anything that comes for you after the first bolt flies.
Sure.
Okay.
So let's say, best case scenario, we take out the first ship and we take out the fourth
ship.
Yeah.
We still have two ships, probably with about a hundred people on it.
What do we do with them?
That's what I was saying.
That's what I'm saying.
That's what I'm saying.
Okay.
So we've maybe set one or two of the ships on fire.
I think we just all agree that if the first and fourth ship are destroyed, we just all
head to the second ship because then we've got to basically take one ship down at a time.
I mean, I think that a lightning bolt spell is going to be super powerful, but in the
Scrantz scheme of things, I don't think it's going to take down a ship in one shot.
How about this?
That's why I have three shots of it.
And the idea is that I'm going to keep like, isn't it just like poking holes through it
so that once we're boarded, once we boarded onto it, they have to deal with us and they
have to deal with the ship sinking.
So that makes sense.
So instead of Shoudy being underwater with me in front of them on the other side, we
should be waiting for that and then we can conglomerate as soon as that fourth one goes
down.
And then we just...
Here's what we can do.
One by one.
If we want to keep some of the ships intact, we leave, well, we can start sinking two
and three.
It's going to take them a while to sink with holes that small, but that's at least giving
them something to deal with.
But what we could do is we can get up onto each of those ships and we can use additional
explosive power to knock the masts out and then the ships are just disabled and we still
have the ships to do with whatever we've got.
I mean, we might have to pull away for a few days and let everybody on board starve out
or whatever, but we'll get the ship one way or the other.
So maybe we're all underneath the water or water breathing, waiting to come up once it
goes through.
Or maybe one...
I don't think any of us should be with Reeve.
Reeve should go in alone.
Then we do our plan and we all rise up to the surface and then just from behind, as soon
as Rad takes out four, we're all on three, then two, then one.
So the plan is, Bay Day leads them in, they hit ship one, hits the mine.
While that's happening, I'm boarding ship number four and attempting to do my thing.
And while that, once you've gone through, I could shoot through three, board three,
shoot two.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
Because you have multiple charges.
Oh, if we shoot the masts like Trig was talking about, then we can at least slow them down.
So even if we have to...
And if I shoot something flammable, it catches on fire.
Oh, perfect.
Yeah.
They've got cannons or something like that.
I don't know.
Bullets.
Yeah.
We also have to be aware that they probably have Ghost Boy with them fucking green eyes.
Oh, fuck.
We have to deal with him.
So it's like, our focus is like doing structural damage more than like attacking people outright.
Yeah.
But try and stay close to me because then I can rip those Sentinel attacks on the reactions.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Try and keep us afloat that way.
You fight the dead.
We burn the house down.
Exactly.
If we get in the middle of enough people, regardless of if I can see them all, I can try to charm
them.
Oh, nice.
That's incredible.
We could make them charm and then...
Can you charm them?
Can you charm them and then get them to go man their own cannons and fire at their other
ships?
Exactly what I'm thinking.
Yeah.
Yeah.
On the button.
Yeah.
And then we just take over that last ship and just tell them to go jump overboard and
not come up again.
Well, you can't do something that's going to harm them with trams.
Oh.
I don't think.
Tell them to go swimming very far.
Yeah.
I mean, like a kill and keep swimming.
We can get them to shoot the other ship, maybe.
With the other ship.
Yeah.
Defend your...
Defend your ship.
That might hurt us still, but as long as we're fighting the other ship.
Fight.
I think fire on the other ships is the smartest thing we've got.
Shoot that ship.
Shoot it.
Shoot it or flee.
Take out their sails if they're worried about hurting their out.
So the plan is that you guys are going to bottleneck, try to blow up ships, take all
the ships out, outside of the portal.
Yes.
Okay.
Or is it as they're coming in?
As they're coming in.
As they're coming in.
On the Elven side of things.
Okay.
Do we have an idea of what time of day they might arrive?
Well, let me, I guess a history check, recalling what the charts and...
16.
Hey.
Oh.
There you go.
What you recall from Betae, they might arrive towards the remaining like maybe hour to two
hours before the portal would close.
But like in terms of it being light or dark outside.
It would be sunset.
Okay.
The following day.
Oh, so if we play our cards right, or if something does go wrong, Plan B is probably just get
them to crash into shore.
You guys spend the rest of the day fulfilling the rest of your plans.
Triggs getting his bombs made and you guys set them.
Eventually.
So the bombs, I'm sorry, wait, so the bombs did get made?
Bombs did get made.
Did I get all dozen of them?
He doesn't make you the full 12.
He makes you about nine of them.
I'm disappointed in you.
What was your name?
He didn't ask him his name.
That's what I say.
I'm disappointed in you.
What is your name?
He looks at you, uh, Bran, Bran is my name.
Bran, you gotta, you gotta get your shit together, boy.
But that's okay.
We'll just have to make do with nine.
Geez, this guy.
So I'll finish off the nine.
Okay.
I mean, it's pretty, I feel like it should, they're pretty simple to make.
It's just, I'm putting dynamite in between the springs that are going to make it, that
they're going to hit the blast and cap and make it go boom.
Okay.
Uh, is there any left residual dynamite left over that I can pocket for myself?
I say you got four sticks.
All right.
Thank you, Mr. Barrel.
I might be back later.
You're welcome.
And I leave as quickly and mysteriously as I came.
Oh.
Are you guys staying on shore at the island or are you guys planning to stay on your
raft?
Do we, do we meet that lady?
Is she, is she like, we need to know, are we dealing with Miss Honey or like the evil
principle from until now?
Can we get the vibe check really quick?
I want to vibe check this bitch so hard.
I would say like towards the evening and stuff like that you, you were able to meet.
She's a younger Elvin woman.
She's got reddish brown hair and dark green eyes.
She seems very friendly.
I'm going to try and pull myself up to my like full seven foot, whatever I said, four
or something like that and just stare down at her.
Roll an intimidation check.
Uh, 19.
19.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, you give your, your best intimidated stare as you look down, puff out your chest
and she takes note of it and she kind of just continues just to kind of cordially smile
at you both.
Hello.
Hello.
Hi.
Hello.
I'm Quenna.
Yes.
It's nice to meet you.
Did you?
I'm Snowvall and I'm shorty and this is Baran.
She smiles both at you and then she kind of approaches Baran and kind of crouches down
and she just kind of says, hello, Baran.
I'm Quenna.
It's nice to meet you.
What's Baran?
What's, yeah, what?
Let's go ahead.
What's the kid vibe?
What's the kid vibe?
She is telling us everything right now.
Baran looks pretty calm.
I mean, she looks kind of also sheepishly shy.
She kind of pushes more towards you, shorty, but she doesn't seem like upset or, or like
wants to cry.
She's just, it's a new person.
She's a little, a little nervous.
I was just going to recommend, if you're going to be the one who takes primary care,
she likes sweets.
So if you have that, I, that would, also we have a very fun game called how high that
is also, I highly recommend you do that for her.
And don't be shy.
She can handle like at least 20 feet.
So okay.
She can't float.
If you so few miss, she'll probably catch herself, but don't miss.
You crashed that file.
We will know if you miss.
She'll tell us.
The king assured us that there'd be someone who could speak to her and her, what in the
language she knows.
Is that you?
Can you speak the language of the air's nasty?
I can't, but there are some of the elders that might be able to at least require that.
You should learn it too.
If you're making her learn your language, I think it should be fair that you learn hers.
I'm just glaring.
I'm just kind of like sizing up.
I mean, that seems, that seems very fair and perhaps I will.
She's, yeah, she kind of just like looks at you both and she kind of smiles and it's,
and she just says it's good to know that she was much loved.
She is much loved.
I'm not going to stop loving her just because we leave her here.
And I didn't say you weren't.
I'm going to hold my hand and tap on showties.
I'm like, it's okay, free, free.
If you'd like, we would like you to meet the others in our, in our party that are also
very close with her on.
And since this may possibly be all of our last night with, with her, we, we, I know
they would like to meet you as well.
I walk in with nine big ass bombs.
Guys, look what I made.
Oh, Trig, that's wonderful.
Oh, those things that go pop.
One could say that.
Good.
Yes, this is Trig.
He's our demolitions expert, I suppose, or he likes making things go boom, but he
loves Baron too.
Don't you, Trig?
One might say that.
Trig, um, she might be the one taking care of Baron.
That's why we wanted you to meet her.
She kind of looks like she's got a big old stick up her ass.
I can see that.
We would like to invite you, if you are okay with that, for supper later.
If you're available, if you can make yourself available, you weren't available earlier.
But if you can be available now for Baron, that would be fantastic.
Well, you'll be available, won't you?
Yeah, I strongly recommend you.
Yeah, she'll be available.
She'll be there.
She'll be there.
Come down, we should have had the other boy.
We should have swapped, we should have swapped.
This poor nanny just trying to make a fucking living.
I mean, I didn't even know what she was doing earlier.
First of all, your sea daughter is about to be left.
So you best get on this train.
Not on this train, because it occurred to me that they could arrive fucking early.
So I have made special precautions to be on Reed's ship, watching the horizon,
because I fucking forgot just because we want them to arrive tomorrow.
Does it mean we could have we could have the dinner on the ship?
Dinner on a pirate ship.
Here you go.
Yes, come join us on the pirate ship.
That's where we'll have dinner.
All right. Fantastic.
It would be an honor to meet all of you, I guess.
Great. All right.
Wait, are we?
How's that they say show?
Are we number one here?
Are we taking them?
No, we're taking it to the.
Probably let's leave her with the nanny for now.
That's a big deal.
That's a case they do it right.
Rather, we have to keep it.
We got to minimize our risks.
OK, if there is a contract, I assume I talk to Snowball and Shoddy about her
and the contract and how she better take care of our girl, that kind of thing.
I will say that you you eventually get Kenny to come to shore
and you guys explain the situation with the nanny
and you guys broke her a contract where she will take care of Baran
in the similar fashion that you guys were.
Kenny, Kenny, can we add a clause that says if she screws up,
I get to shoot her in her eyeballs?
That is very specific.
I feel like there is a if it doesn't work out clause that would cover this
and we can walk her through it. Excellent.
Perfect. Make sure to keep it in the fine print, though, so she doesn't see it.
I think if this is our last dinner with Baran,
we should do it where we started and have dinner on the raft.
All right. Not the same raft, but dinner on the raft sounds nice.
Where it started.
And are you including Kowena with this?
Are you leaving for Ashora?
We should. Sure.
You all get on the boat and you guys all have dinner together,
one last dinner together as it starts to get late into the evening.
It's nice. It's like fish and simple stuff, whatever you guys have left in your rations.
Kowena brings some like sweet cakes and stuff just to kind of add to it.
And you guys just casually talk about a bit of your trip
and what you guys had to do and everything that's going on.
And very nice night.
And Kowena seems to be very attentive to what you guys are saying
and listening at the very least.
Enamored by your guys' stories.
Are you guys spending the night on your raft or are you guys going to shore?
What are you? Where are you guys staying?
We should put Baran to sleep.
No, it's not going with the nanny to shore now.
Like they have to go.
That's what you're doing.
She'd better. Yeah, I guess it's time to say goodbye, actually.
I mean, we'll see you again before we leave, I hope.
Yeah, it may not get another chance.
Just FYI, because if shit goes south or anything like that,
and let's say the portal closes, we can still leave when the portal closes,
remember, we just can't come back.
Well, if we die, the portal does not come into play either way.
Before they leave, though, I am going to take my pendant
and give it to Baran, though.
You take it and you kind of fasten it to her little robe.
Yeah, don't lose that.
Yeah, and with that, you guys say your goodbyes to Baran
as going to kind of picks her up and stuff.
You guys kind of all look at her.
I don't want to.
Only for a little bit.
And then we'll figure it out after we've killed all the pirates.
I mean, we have to leave her here just for a little bit.
That was what the mission was to begin with.
So she kind of looks back as she waves at you.
I'm going to go give her a little kiss on the head.
She does as she kind of wraps her little arms around you.
Oh, but with that show,
the once all this is done, you could always just stay here with her.
No, I can't.
Why not?
I have other things to do and.
I can't stay here with her.
That's that there are other things in the world
that need doing before it's safer.
So I can't stay.
I'm going to go to Baran, you know,
as they're leaving and I'm going to pick out those sets of paints.
I keep on the ship and I'm going to bundle them up in a little
drawstring, you know, burlap sack or whatever it is.
And handed over to Baran.
And I know she can't really understand me, but I'm going to say to her.
My brother always said that artists were the ones
who really told the important stories.
The way that these things get passed on,
the things that we're going to do is that people like you, creative ones,
keep it going.
So keep painting and I give them over to it, like looks
and gives you a stare the whole time you're saying that you kind of say it
in primordial in the hopes that she would at least get the pieces of it.
But she kind of just gives you that just like little small smile.
And as she kind of like it's a big bundle in her small little hands
and just kind of holding on to it.
While everybody is distracted by Shodi's crime,
I'm going to try the slip of Baran, a crossbow bolt.
And I'm just going to be like, what a little sleight of hand.
Oh, boy.
This is the only time he's getting a 20.
No, eight.
No, I mean, it's up in the checks because I'm hovering close to her.
Yeah, you see if you could roll higher than eight.
Twenty six.
You just clearly see him just put it in.
I let it happen.
I just wanted to know.
Yeah.
He slips it in and nobody else seems he thinks nobody else seems to notice
when he puts the little arrow into the little burlap bag.
I know that strikes way of showing love.
And that's OK.
I think Rad kind of surprisingly confident just kind of throws
a shocker at Baran and says, see you on the other side, little dude.
Baran kind of makes a little shocker.
Kind of waves together like far away, but yeah.
She threw it.
Everybody gets a little moment, Kenny.
Kenny's not super good at goodbyes, so she just reaches into her
file cabinet bag and pulls out the first contract
that she ever got on this trip, Baran's, and rolls it up, puts it in her pocket.
It has a contact information if she wanted to find her.
But that's that's it.
And she just steps back.
You slip that in easy enough.
And with that, Kawana gets on her little small boat
and starts making her way back to shore, as you guys plan to stay.
Eventually she gets smaller and smaller.
And we're going to be good guys.
Just don't linger for too long.
Let's do what we need to get done.
And we'll see Baran on the other side.
Yes. OK.
So where are the boats coming in?
Do we think we got to get these mines set up?
OK, so I'll point out in the section of the portal where we've danged.
I'm sure that me and Rita set markers of some sort
because we talked extensively on the strategy of it.
And I bring Trig up to speed on the exact route we're taking into the portal.
All right, let's go out there and let's put eight of the mines out.
We'll save one of them for ourselves.
We'll put them two by two at approximately a 30 meter spacing
to maximize our chances of hitting the ship.
30 meters.
So if we have to sail around them, it'll be a little tough for us on our side.
Oh, no, we cannot sail around them.
That we would definitely explode.
Good to know.
I'll help Trig put them in the water.
If we're under the water, we could always like cut a rope and let them flow to the top.
You can't release. I mean, we could do that, too.
Well, that's that'd be nice because then we'd be sure they hit them.
Otherwise, we're just hoping they go the direction we want them to go.
The point is that allows Bay Day's ship to to get past go past. Yeah.
OK, as long as somebody can be down there to cut them and let them float up, then that's fine.
I think we can do that.
Well, Rad is taking the fourth ship.
Ian Shoudy can cut the ties on the first two.
If it comes to it, I can also be a good distraction on one of the ships.
Of course, they've been after me for a bit.
So right before we go to bed, I'm going to cast water breathing on all of us
so that it's prepped for tomorrow.
Cool.
Roller.
I'm going, I'm going.
18 save on all these ones.
Let's go. We are saving them up.
Yeah, I hope so.
I'm ready to pop them off if I can.
Yeah, I mean, over the over the course of the the last couple of days,
since you've been casting spells, you kind of are starting to feel a little bit of pressure.
You're not sure if it's the the angst of the excitement of what's coming up
or the the pressure of the magic that's building up inside of you.
But you guys get some rest.
Though, very anxious and nervous about the coming day.
You spend the rest of the the following days laying your minds,
prepping what you need to prep, getting everything situated,
figuring out who's going to be underwater with the mines,
who's going to be rolling out to the other ships.
And then you just wait.
And you wait and wait as the day lingers and stretches.
It's the end of summer and the days are much longer, it seems,
and it just seems to drag almost nervously as everybody just.
Waits for somebody to note ships on the horizon.
The waiting is the worst part of this.
I think the battle is going to be fine.
Or I don't think it's going to be fine.
I think it's going to be terrible.
The waiting of this is awful.
We could tell ghost stories or something.
Maybe we're doing a wait underwater.
No, we shouldn't go on that stupid.
I think once we see the ships in the horizon, that's when we start our plan.
That's a good plan.
Wait, I'm sorry.
Where do I fit in the plan?
You're with us. OK.
And then stick by and you board the third ship like everyone else.
Yes, just stick by and that's the plan.
I have an idea, but it's a stretch.
Do you, by chance, think you may potentially
could know anyone that might be on the ship?
Well, yes, it's very possible.
If Ghost Dude's on it, you'll know him.
I know Ghost Dude.
All of my brothers served with the Navy.
My father was very important.
There are many sailors I served with and I was a part of the Navy.
And then there are the people my family knows to begin with.
So probably not your blood.
Then anyone else, if you can describe them to me.
Right now.
One single thing about them.
There's someone I can tell you about someone that.
We need to go to another place somewhere that's not in front of.
Somewhere private and I'll explain to you Thor.
And then if your game, Kenny, I'll take you into like the hut or something
somewhere away from other ears and then Eli, I'll describe to her
the looks of Thor and Gaspard, my former commander.
OK.
Go forth.
And then I'll explain the green eyes to you.
OK.
Yeah, I just explain a very pale hair like red fire, long and tight
into one of those terrible little pony tails, freckled across his entire body.
Just freckles everywhere, tanned in the wrong places, terrible.
One of those pouty little French mustaches.
Barely confessed.
And just an asshole, total asshole.
It's very clear that when Anker describes him, he's not fond of the man.
Cruel.
And then I describe the green eyes from the ghost fucker.
As you are talking to Kenny off, off to the side, eventually you hear
on the saffron serpent, the familiar call bell from the deck.
As you hear the faint sound of an alarm going on from the
convenient crow's nest of the cankew that sits up there.
As you guys look out onto the horizon, you see in the distance for
Blacksail, Sasanian warships making their way towards your direction.
So now or never, let's do it.
Let's go.
Fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire.
Sure.
Let's go.
So you guys are going to get into position.
Yeah, underwater.
All right, you guys take your various positions, the ships speaking to
you just kind of barrel towards you.
And eventually they start to get close enough.
The saffron serpent then, you know, takes takes over and starts charging
towards the first ship and attempt to kind of get their attention and try
to drag them off towards the left side as you guys wait.
Rad knows that he needs to be a little bit farther away than the group.
So he's just going to wave goodbye and start swimming in the direction
of the boats, hoping that, you know, by the time the first boat is getting
hit by the mines, he's already aboard and nearly to the top of the fourth.
Cool.
Copy that.
You're trying to be sneaky.
Yes.
Yes.
OK, cool.
Kat's Grace, then.
So the rest of us are on the Elven side, correct?
And then Rad is the only one going to the other side right now.
Yes, currently.
Yep, the ship starts to kind of barrel towards you, eventually gets closer
and closer and closer, fires off a couple warning rounds to the first ship,
trying to get them to kind of draw in.
They kind of eventually start forming like kind of more of like a V shape
as they're making their way towards you.
Eventually, the first ship starts to get towards closer to the portal side
as Bay Day is kind of leading them through.
That's cool.
You see those who are holding onto the mines, roll me perception checks.
I have a 19.
19. You said 16.
Shoddy, 16.
I got it.
Ten.
Trig.
Oh, 18.
18, all right.
Collectively, you guys are all under the water waiting.
Eventually, you see the first ship pass over, which you can tell is Bay Day's ship.
And then you see what is the shadow of another ship approaching, and it starts
to cross over your guys's threshold.
We all release.
All right.
Roll an attack.
What are we?
What do we add?
Do we add anything to it?
Do we get?
No, just roll a straight attack.
Oh, fuck her.
A 17.
17.
14.
14.
Trig.
15.
Another two.
Man, you really just can't get these things to float, can you?
One job.
I know.
One job, Shoddy.
Okay.
There's the builder.
You're blacksmith.
You get his revenge.
It teetered on a natural 20 for seconds and then went to it too, and I'm so mad.
You guys cut the ropes tethering those bombs, and they start to kind of float up as the ship
crosses over.
And three out of the four hit.
That's a pretty good ratio.
Yeah, that's incredible.
And then we still got more if they miss.
We still have an extra one now, I guess.
Well, if we only let four go, we had none.
I'd be floating in the way the other one might hit, too.
If we're lucky.
Which we really are.
As you guys let the bombs go, it takes a couple moments as it slowly rises to the surface,
and you're kind of just watching it, and you're just kind of holding on to see what will happen.
The wait is terrible.
But eventually, you hear just the crashing sound and just a wide explosion.
One, two, three, four.
Those who are underneath, roll me to dexterity checks as you are.
I was afraid.
Do you want to check or save?
I'll save, please.
Yeah, that makes sense.
Okay.
15 for Tray.
13 for Tray.
13 for Shodie.
Snoball, 9.
I had a 14.
Those who rolled under 15.
You guys are wracked with the loud sounds of that explosion.
You kind of get pushed by just the sheer force of it and kind of disorient you.
Snoball, you are deafened by the loud sound of those cannon fire,
and you kind of go blind for a moment as you guys are trying to get your bearings back.
But above you, you hear just the clamoring and the yelling and the screaming of crew members above,
as it looks like four really large holes have been blasted through the hole of the ships,
and they're taking on significant amounts of water.
Hell yeah.
The ship is starting to sink.
Rad, you've been feverishly swimming, leaving everybody behind, trying to find the fourth ship.
Roll me a survival check so you're underwater as you're trying to locate the fourth ship.
Raddy, you're good in survival, but I don't think I rolled very well.
No, you got this, baby.
It's all you.
No, I rolled a natural one, so a total of five.
No, no!
You're swimming through, but you go a little bit too deep, and as you kind of look up,
it's hard to kind of notice the shadows.
So you start kind of moving towards a little bit further out as you try to attempt to kind of locate this ship.
Say, roll one more survival check.
Alright, you got this.
About 13, okay.
You kind of reach the surface for a second, just kind of bobbing your head, and you look and you scan,
and you finally see the last ship.
It's a little ahead of you, it's kind of passed over you, but it's not terribly far, it's about 10 feet or so away from you.
Yeah, I'm just swimming with all my might trying to catch up to it.
Use your quick speed and swimming, and you eventually make it to the side of the back of the ship,
and you can see like a rung ladder that's kind of built into the backside of the ship that you could probably attempt to get up on.
I'll definitely climb it, and as quietly as possible, get to the top, kind of survey what's going on,
and at the moment I see a clearing, I'll try to get onto the deck and try to climb the tallest mast.
Roll me an athletic check to get on board, and then roll me a stealth check to see if you can peek your head over, and look around.
So with 10 on my athletics, a stealth check, a total of 18.
18, okay. It takes you a couple moments to kind of climb up, it's a little steeper than you were anticipating it.
I like to imagine that there is no actual ladder, and I'm like literally having to climb like the wood.
I've got claws so I can like use it, but it's hard.
Sure, yeah, you pluck the ladder, and you're climbing up the sides like trying to get in between the grooves of the boards of the wood on the hull on the ship,
and eventually you peek your head over.
There are various members of people on the deck of the ship, but it seems like they're rushing back and forth trying to get battle ready.
Just as you kind of peek up, you hear a loud like explosion in the distance, which you can only assume is the other group.
I think that I have to guarantee that I'm as quiet as possible.
So I'm going to cast Find Familiar 30 feet on the other side of the boat, or as far away from me as possible,
like in a group of people to distract everybody, and I'm going to summon Punch and have her just start attacking the first person within reach.
Sweet. You're on the opposite side, so it's sunset.
So there's like a lot of hard shadows crossing over the ship from like the mast and other parts of the ship.
Eventually like you can see just the stretching of that shadow as it starts to slowly make this form.
And like couple of the men starts to notice just the way that the shadow starts to bend naturally as it starts to kind of collect itself
and eventually punches form, kind of forms the six-eyed shadow dog in the middle of all these people.
And all the men start to kind of like scream like a suddenness of this strange and terrifying looking creature as they all try to draw their attention towards that.
She will definitely stay in the shadow because anytime sunlight touches her, she has disadvantage on attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws.
Yeah, she seems to kind of jump from shadow to shadow drawing the rest of the men towards like the undercarriage of the top deck of the ship
as they're trying to throw hurdle weapons at it and being distracted by it.
Roll me a stealth check at advantage since the crew is distracted as you try to get up on the ship.
Yeah, another 18.
Another 18?
Yeah.
Everybody is distracted by it as you kind of now climb over the rail and now you're on the deck of the ship
and you slowly just casually and slowly walk to the largest mass head of the ship.
Yeah, I'll just start shuffling my way up it.
Yeah, slowly climb up and you notice that there's also a crow's nest at the top of this.
Roll me a stealth check as you enter that top.
I can assume that there's going to be somebody up there.
So I will probably have slow like on the ready if I see someone.
That's just a dirty 10.
Dirty 10, okay.
I don't think you can really have a dirty 10.
It's just a 10.
I feel dirty right now though.
I mean.
I feel really dirty right now.
I guess everything's dirty technically.
You climb up the rings and you believe that you're staying as stealth as possible as punches continuing to draw out the attention of the rest of the crew on the ship currently.
You eventually kind of poke your head up through the crow's nest learning from your time on the saffron that there's might be somebody up there.
You do see somebody.
It seems to be like a younger human.
He currently has his back towards you because he he's also trying to like see the creature that has jumped up on the deck.
You're slowly getting up onto the crow's nest when he kind of is there something you want to do before he fully turns around.
So the crow's nest is just like open to the air right?
Yeah.
Okay.
I don't think I really need to worry about him and I'm really worried about wasting a spell.
I just want to jump into the crow's nest.
He can attempt to do whatever he wants, but I just want to do two things in quick succession.
Okay.
Which is I want to cast enlarge on myself.
Okay.
And I would assume that that rad's like six two six three.
So he's like 12 and a half feet tall and as I probably inevitably begin to fall out of the crow's nest.
I'm going to fall like shell first and I'm going to cast a an ability that I have from my my former dragon turtle patron called a movable mountain.
I gain advantage on ability checks and saving throws against being forcibly moved, which is really important right now.
But as an action, I can enter an immovable stance until the start of my next turn.
While in my immovable stance, my weight increases by eight times and you cannot be moved by anything except gravity.
So I go from a 12 foot tall, probably weighing like six or 700 pounds to now I weigh eight times six or 700.
4,800 pounds.
I think that will do it.
4,800 pounds of turtle pressure.
And I'm aiming for like the side of the ship and I just want to tear up the side of the ship.
So there's now a massive hole in it.
And as I'm falling, Radja says, I hope this doesn't kill me.
Are you protected against like fall damage and stuff like that?
Or like, I don't think so.
Oh my god, this could kill him.
If it's a one to one damage transfer from how much he does to the ship to him, this could very well be the end of it.
Well, it's one nice six for every 10 feet.
Yeah, one to six.
How high is the crow's nest?
Yeah, that's a good question.
It's like 50 feet.
Fuck!
Well, everybody f in the chat please.
Nice run.
10 feet, so I only take 40 fall damage.
Oh my god.
It's gonna be okay.
Second rad death of the season.
Cool.
Let's do it.
Kenny's close.
We're all gonna meet on boat.
Yes, Kenny is okay.
So we have a shot.
Rad, you now or never you just jump into that crow's nest knowing that there's a person there.
And as that kid kind of turns around just like unexpectedly seeing you as you just enlarge yourself to 12 feet tall and you just kind of tumble off the side of it.
Not even giving him a chance to react.
He's actually gonna take an opportunity attack against you.
Oh shit.
He's gonna knock you on the way down.
Holy shit.
Will 13 hit?
No.
Yeah, he scrambles to try to like attack you with a sword but it rakes off the side of your shell easily as you just tumble down.
Rad just falls off the side of the ship.
Large giant turtle shell kind of makes a cannon ball.
How much damage did I take?
You take 18 points of fall damage.
Okay.
As you saw, our big beautiful boy.
I went from 64 to 46.
And 18's not even enough to change the concentration.
He's just gotta hit 10.
So I just gotta beat a 10, right?
Here we go baby, here we go.
Yes, I rolled 10 exactly.
What's up?
Scaly man.
Self in at the last second as you hit the side of this ship and you just hear just the sound of splintering wood as you hold on as much as you can until you eventually hit the bottom of the ocean.
But you rake through the side of this ship and it is enough to start taking on some water and some residual damage as the ship seems to start to lean off to one side.
Okay, I'll drop my enlarge and then I'll just start making my way to the third ship as planned.
Okay, cool.
The rest of you, you guys are making your way to the third ship.
Yeah, yeah.
Roll me athletic checks as none of you have swim speeds.
Athletic check.
Let's see who's leading the pack in the swim.
17.
17.
17.
17.
26.
26.
18.
12.
Anchor motivated by the sheer will in the drive.
You take off swimming as soon as the ship starts to explode and as the chaos above you, as you guys have now gotten your bearings, you're the first to take off.
Followed by Trig and Shodi.
Trailing the pack is Kenny as you guys are swimming feverishly trying to locate the third ship.
Since you are leading the pack, roll me a survival check to see if you can locate that third ship underwater.
Natural 20.
24.
You keep swimming and swimming and you're looking up and you're looking up and you see the second ship kind of crossing over your overhead and you keep pushing on and eventually you see the undercarriage of the third ship.
You swim to the surface and you pop up your head and roll me a perception check to see if you can locate a way to get up on a board.
Okay.
Oh, that's a natural one.
Fucking right up against each other.
The salt water is kind of stinging your eyes and it's kind of hard to like see as you're kind of readjusting.
But you at least know that there is a third ship as the rest of you slowly trickle in and one by one Shodi pops up, Trig pops up,
Snavol eventually pops up and a few much more moments later, Kenny finally takes a deep breath underwater.
Can I stay under actually so that I can, I want to like drop onto my back underwater and I want to just fucking lightening bolt up through it.
So that it goes through.
So it goes through the bottom like it's going to take on water that way, but also so it ignites every floor after it and next to the top of the ship.
Our entrance we can fall in after the fucking hole.
Yes.
That and also Eli can I ask how from so we're at the surface now how tall, how far away is the top of the deck?
Do I get the sense that I could throw something to the top deck?
I would say it's about like 50, 60 feet up so within that.
So probably not.
You can try with an athletic check to see what are you throwing on?
One of the leftover mines.
Oh shit.
You can attempt to do it.
It is a heavy metal object.
No, I'm not going to, I'm going to, I'm going to, I'm going to let this climb some of the way up there before I do that.
Because otherwise I'm just dropping a bomb on our own heads and I'm not even that tall.
Copy, copy.
Thank you for your strength.
We can do it with three, like from the deck maybe.
Okay.
We can go from like throw from three to two.
Yeah.
I just want to clear the top deck.
Okay.
So usually when things take damage from lightning bolt, it's 8d6.
I don't know if that's also what it will be here, but that's usually when a person takes damage from lightning bolt.
I would say it's about the same given the size of the ship.
And here we go.
I'm also going to use empowered spell to re-roll some of my damage.
Okay.
Ooh.
What if they hit wild magic surge and just pop a big ol' fireball under the ship?
We can do it.
What would that be rad?
Turn into a chest.
Okay.
That won't sink to the hull.
24 plus 29 points of damage to the ship.
What was, what was the attack?
It doesn't attack.
It has to make a dex saving throw, but I'm assuming since it doesn't know I'm there.
Okay.
So you said 29 points of damage?
29 points of damage and everything, what does it say?
The lightning ignites flammable objects in the area that aren't being worn or carried.
So it's 100 feet, it's 100 feet long and 5 feet wide.
Oh, roll me athletic check so that you can try to make your way back to the squad.
Oh, it hits my wild magic roll too.
Yes.
What's wrong?
Magic cocked.
Fuck.
Natural 20.
Woo!
I'm here for destruction only.
I rolled a 17 on my athletic check.
Okay, yeah.
Easy enough since you also can swim, you eventually make it.
As you approach, eventually you just see this large bolt of lightning get casted through
the hull of the ship.
I'm going to roll the clip.
Full on the tula hands.
Yeah.
It's exactly.
Yeah.
As you kind of just caught one of your arms back and it just lightens.
As you just release the bolt, you crack through the hull of the ship and you can just hear
it just go straight through as you just don't lose constant focus, just constant, just like
a steady rage.
Eventually there's just like a moment of like residual silence after that as you finally
the bolt just tapers off and withdraws.
When it's on the surface, you guys eventually see a lightning bolt just crack through the
top of the deck out, clean through and it startles all of the men as you hear just clamoring
of shouts of crew members trying to put out fires and trying to get their bearings of
the situation.
Eventually there's just a loud like scream and then all of a sudden just an explosion
and you just hear it just like just fired and then ruptures just boom boom boom boom
through the ship and then the ship just starts to blow out at the bottom.
Those who are on top of the surface and as well as you showed me roll me deck saves as
this ship is now being blown apart by the gunpowder it's carrying.
3020.
Deck save.
Deck save.
21.
21.
21.
14.
14.
Maybe we should go top side then.
We fucked this up.
Yeah.
Snowball.
15.
Go to the next boat, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Go to the two.
Yeah.
Two.
Those who rolled under 15, you guys get hit.
Whether the wave and the blast of this ship, especially since you guys are on the surface,
those who failed are going to take six points of damage from debris and stuff that is being
splintered off from the ship as it starts to take on water and it's slowly in the process
of sinking.
Some of the men on top are already starting to abandon the ship.
And jumping into the water.
Well, that went marvelously.
So if you guys have taken three ships out currently, can you, can you put us on water
walk?
About two is already past us.
Yes.
I'm going to drop the enhanceability I had on rad.
But I think everybody.
Oh.
Waterwalk.
Rad has a swim speed.
He'll be fine.
And yeah, I will cast on everybody.
A rad.
Rad's on the approach.
You guys can actually see Rad in the distance.
He's swimming feverishly.
But he also has a swim speed and he's moving very quickly.
Yeah.
Roll me athletic checks as you all are swimming on as two is well ahead of you guys.
Natural 20.
Natural 20.
Oh, shit.
Okay.
Seven.
Yeah.
I got a seven too.
Okay.
Which with athletics, that gives me a net 24.
Okay.
I have a 22.
22.
Natural one.
Six.
Six.
Natural one.
I'm wearing like a full cast.
I'm wearing like a full cast.
I'm wearing like a full cast.
I'm wearing like a full cast.
I'm wearing like a full cast.
I'm wearing like a full cast near a cardigan.
Like it's not smart to swim in or do anything really athletic.
So.
Yeah.
Is there any way I can use my 22 not to be fast, but to keep Kenny at pace?
If I saw that Kenny was really falling behind, I'd try and keep Kenny with us so we can stay
together.
Everybody begins to kind of make their way forward slowly.
Trig is very motivated and he is just on.
Jesus.
Rad has underwater.
Rad has some distance that he finally makes up and he's keeping pace with Shoddy.
Neval you're also trekking slowly but surely.
Kenny, you're kind of both weighed down by the water and that kind of residual blast
of the ship and stuff like that.
You're kind of a little slightly disoriented.
You're kind of sinking down in the water instead of kind of swimming in a direction.
Eventually like eventually anchor notices this and he starts swimming towards you and
grabs you and starts to help you swim along.
So anchor you.
You managed to get down and get Kenny kind of re situate her and try to help her swim
along as you guys are making your way to the second ship.
Trigger the first one to arrive.
Are you staying underwater?
Are you trying to breach the surface?
Hell no.
I'm climbing right up that damn thing.
I want the credit for taking this one down.
Roll the perception check to see if you can find one.
Oh my God.
That's a 23.
23?
Okay.
As you breach the surface you can assess that you can probably climb up on the side
of the hull of the ship.
Can I climb halfway up the ship and throw a land and throw a mine over the top?
Sure.
Like a big old basketball.
Roll me an athletic check to get up halfway and then roll me another one to toss it over
the side.
Okay.
Athletics check to get.
Meanwhile, everybody else is slowly making their way.
The next one I believe would be shoddy and rad as well as snowball and then anchor and
Kenny will are just shy.
Am I within 100 feet of it?
Yes.
Can I peek my head out above and just shoot at sails?
Okay.
Another lightning bolt.
Sure.
Sure, sure, sure.
That'll show them.
Roll that situation.
While they're doing that, that's a 21 for my first athletics check.
Okay.
Sorry, do I need to make a check?
No, unless you were trying to get up on board, then you can roll a perception check.
But if you're hanging tight underwater, then...
No, no, I think I know that this is kind of the showdown, so I need to get up there too.
Okay.
Roll a perception check to see how you can get yourself up on board.
And then that's a 12 for throwing the explosives over the top.
Oh my God.
Oh, God.
My perception is a 13.
Yeah, you can see that there are, like you did on the previous ship, that there are rungs
between the holes of the ship that you can probably climb up.
And then you can roll an athletics check to see how well you climb up the ship.
And as you are doing that, Red, Trigg is like one arm climbing up the side of the ship
with the mine in his hand.
Yep, it looks as dumb as it sounds.
And he gets about halfway.
And it seems easy to just lift it, but now you're in the process of now looking up
and trying to see if you can momentarily swing it up and over.
You kind of like gauge it for a second and you're just like trying to swing,
but there's not a lot of like space between you and throwing it up.
So as you kind of finally just eat it over, it hits the top of the railing.
And it teeters for a moment.
Uh-oh.
Wait, whoa, no, it's impact.
It's impact.
Oh, it's impact.
Oh, Trigg is on impact.
Oh, no.
I always have to literally hold on.
He didn't let the blow himself up.
Can he be on standby?
Can he be on standby?
Let me double check the AC at the ship.
I fucking love Aaron so quick to kill himself.
Don't worry, it's impact.
No, please, please.
Okay, unfortunately.
Crack me up, dude.
I'm using your athletic toss for the overall ignition of your thing,
and it's under the armor class of the ship.
So what will happen is all is not lost.
I blow myself off the side.
One second.
Will you deck save?
And Rad, you'll also have to rule me a deck save as well
as you're making your way up the ship at the time that you-
The consequence is 11 for me.
11?
Okay.
You said a save is a 14.
You see it hit the side of the ship,
and you expect it to kind of go off,
but it doesn't as it just lightly-
Uh-oh.
But eventually it just kind of teeters on the edge of it,
and eventually it rolls back towards you,
and it falls off the side of the ship.
But as it does, it does finally detonate itself right above you.
It's going to give the ship 10 points of damage.
It's high enough that it will cost some damage
as you guys get both knocked back into the water.
Trig and Rad, you're going to take 10 points of damage,
and the ship will also take 10 points of damage
as it gets some of that residual blast on the top,
but not enough to really do much.
As we're falling, I just scream out,
sorry, but that's what I meant to do!
He slapped his heart into the water.
Those underneath you guys notice,
Trig and Rad just splashing back below.
Shodi, what was the damage for the lightning bolt, though?
A cool 36.
Cool 36?
Okay.
And everything's on fire again.
What did you roll your...
I did not roll it until you told me to,
so now I'm doing it.
Nine!
I can't just waterwalk on everyone but Rad,
so when Trig falls,
he hits the surface of the water.
Okay.
Wait, so we're all waterwalking right now?
Hold on.
If we reach the surface, I think...
I guess that's falling damage for me, too, then.
Oh, yeah.
Trig, you're taking additional 13 points of falling damage.
As Rad splashes into the water and kind of sinks down and stuff,
and then Trig just slaps up against it like ice.
That's what I'm meant to do!
Shodi, you don't really know what's going on
as you kind of come up on the other side of the ship.
You, again, cast lightning bolt,
and you're feeling like the pressure continues
just build and build inside of you,
but you're trying to keep it swallowed down as you cast it.
And as you do, you hit the actual mass head of this ship
as it just cracks straight through,
and you hear just the sound of timbering wood,
because eventually the mass just falls over onto the deck,
followed by a loud blast off to the other side,
which you assume is probably Trig.
That's our boy.
Why don't we, at this point, all roll initiative
as you guys are now going to plan to board this particular ship?
I gather not so hot 9.
I get a middle 12.
Yep, another 11.
Snavol?
Yeah, I got a 2.
I assume Snavol is the fastest of you.
It was an 11.
Oh, dex-wise?
Yeah.
I think so.
I'm only...
Kenny, Rad, what are you guys' dexes?
One.
Who wants to go first?
She can go before me.
Or last, because I'm going to...
Yeah.
Okay, so then I'll go before Kenny.
All right, top of the round.
Okay, everybody roll me a wisdom saving throw
at the top of the round.
19.
19.
17.
21.
21.
12.
As you guys are slowly poking your heads at the surface,
minus Trig, who's just kind of laying on the surface of the ocean.
Just kind of sprawled out.
You guys are looking up, gauging how you guys are going to climb up
over the top of this ship.
And as you do, all of a sudden you guys are kind of just wracked
with this sense of just fear.
You remember this fear coming from Tengu Atoll?
Snobol and Rad, you guys are overtaken by a sense of fear
and you both are frightened.
Okay, does that mean we have to run away,
or can we still kind of continue to try to board the ship?
You can try to climb the ship,
but whatever is the source of that,
once you get over that, might affect you as you get up there.
Is it okay, because I think for my run,
I can do stillness of mind,
where it's like I just basically put myself into a meditation
where I become unfrightened.
I'd like to also point out, typically frightened,
I have to be within the line of sight of the thing that is scaring me,
and until I get onto the deck of the ship,
I don't think I see anything.
But it does say the creature can't willingly move closer
to the source of its fear.
You can roll a perception check to see if you can see
what it is that is frightening you.
I don't want to succeed, though.
Can I close my eyes?
Yeah, you can close your eyes.
You're just scared.
Under the water.
Yeah, my priority is getting close to Kenny,
so I'm looking out for her.
Oh, Kenny's behind you anyways.
Then I will stay back and get close to Kenny.
Okay, yeah, you kind of back away in the water
until you're kind of in line with Kenny.
So, Neval, you can try to break your fright
once we get to your turn.
Show to Europe.
Oh, fuck, okay.
So, we're standing on the surface of the water,
and we can try and climb into the ship now, yes?
Yes.
Cool, I'm going to do that.
Okay, roll me an athletic check as you climb.
Oh, AO, did we just drop it?
Here we go, fam.
Yeah, we did.
You know what the fucking do.
This is where I halt the part, folks.
Do nine?
Do nine?
Okay, one second.
Yes.
You begin to climb up the side of the ship,
and you're fairly confident given your size
and athleticism that you can do this,
but as you take the first step
and then you go to the second one,
your hand just slips as the piece of the chunk of the wood
that you're holding onto just breaks off
and you start to fall.
And as you fall, just like the suddenness
of just being dropped and just the unexpectedness of it
just triggers a surge of magic if you just feel this poof.
And as you're falling, eventually, you just poof.
Out of reality, you just disappear.
No, no, no, no.
Poof?
Just poof?
What the fuck is going on?
I'm just gone.
You don't hear the sound of the water.
You don't hear the sound of them falling.
You don't hear anything.
It just all of a sudden poof?
Disappear.
This is fine.
It's great.
OK.
OK.
Snowball, you're up.
Because my stillness of mind, that basically means
I'm not frightened anymore.
I'm going to go ahead and now make the climb up.
OK.
Yeah.
Use your movement.
Roman Athletics check to get up.
Finally.
OK.
22.
Though shoddy has disappeared out of your sight,
you just kind of move past it as you just take a sprint
and jump up the side of the ship.
And you just scale it.
Eventually, as you climb over, roll me a perception check.
15.
15.
As you just kind of jump onto the rail of the ship
and you just look on, you see the first thing you obviously
see is the armor, the black armored wielding man
that you had met at Tengu Atoll standing there.
Next to him is the half elf you also had seen at Tengu Atoll,
both at the ready.
As you also scan through, you also notice two Magistari
and a couple other sword wielding members of the crew.
And they're taking steps towards you.
What do you want to do?
You've used all of, I believe you would have used all of your
movement to climb the ship.
I'm not sure.
What's your total movement?
45.
Yeah.
I would say you would use your entire movement to climb up on top.
So you can do something, you can do an action or bonus action.
I'm going to go ahead and let out a big roar.
So all the creatures within 30 feet that can see me,
they have to do a wisdom saving throw or they become frightened.
So all of them have to do that.
Three fail, three do not.
The members of the Magistari as well as the other sword,
the two other sword wielders who have come forth,
they have started to kind of take their steps back.
But the half elf as well as the armored wearing man did not move
or though not seem swayed by your roars.
That would have been hilarious.
Okay.
So I'm going to go ahead for my bonus action.
I'm going to go ahead and spend a key to take a dodge.
I think that's basically so I'm going to hold basically until
I got more people with me because I'm just by myself right now.
So if someone attacks, I'll have a dodge.
And that's the end of my turn.
Rad.
I'm staying close to Kenny until I can get healed.
Cool.
I'm going to first cast heroism on everyone.
I'm going to cast it at fourth level.
So everyone, Rad, anchor, trig, if I can, and the area where Shoddy was.
I don't really know.
I'll just do snowball and then I can save it for Shoddy.
Also, after that, I'm going to cast beacon of hope so everyone has advantage on.
Can you cast two spells around?
And also heroism requires touch.
Okay.
Unless I'm wrong.
I will touch everyone that I can.
I'm still in the water.
I know trig is close by.
I know you're close by.
Anchor is fine.
Yeah.
You're on the ship.
So I will hold.
Okay.
I'm still going to cast heroism at fourth level.
I just won't do snowball and I won't do Shoddy.
And then I'm going to cast beacon of hope, which gives everyone advantage on.
No, there's like a thing she can do because she's an order domain cleric, which means
she can cast enchant spells as a bonus action.
But yes, you have advantage on wisdom saving throws and death saving throws for a minute.
Excellent.
And how, how many temporary hit points do we get with that heroism?
Well, three, three and also it's really cool because I think we're immune to being frightened
now.
Yeah.
You can't be frightened.
You've been unfriended.
And if someone tries to frighten you or tries to control you at all, you have advantage
on wisdom saving throws.
Cool.
Excellent.
That's your turn, Kenny.
And then I'm going to try to get as high up as I can.
Okay.
Roll me an athletics check.
It is taking you much time to get up.
I would say in your next round you can get yourself fully over as you're struggling to climb yourself
up the side of this ship.
We'll leave it at that.
Quick questions.
The thing that frightens you.
Can I save out of it?
Excellent action.
Each creature within 30 feet of you must succeed in wisdom saving throws.
We'll be frightened until the end of your next turn.
So the end of my next turn.
So this guy is still very frightened by you.
So he's taking steps back.
So he's not going to attack you.
That will be his turn.
Yeah.
Anchor, it's your turn.
Okay.
All I'm going to do is get up to the point where Kenny is and stay right by them.
And then, you know, that's my thing.
I'm holding in action to attack if anything gets near us.
But outside that, I'm just getting up next to Kenny.
Roll an athletic check to climb.
Okay.
A 25.
Easy enough for you to climb up.
You pull yourself all the way to the top and you're standing right next to Snowall.
You see everyone who is currently on the deck.
Oh, so both me and Kenny are up there on the deck?
Or I thought Kenny would...
Kenny is like struggling to get up, but you rolled a 25, so you are moving a lot faster.
Can I just use the 25 to stay right by Kenny?
Sure.
Yeah, you managed to get up to Kenny and you're in some way trying to assist her to move up.
And you both can make it to the top of the next round.
Top of the round, the man in the Paladin armor.
The man in the black suit of armor.
He's going to come towards you, Snowall, since you are at the top.
And the only one there.
He is going to charge straight at you, Snowall.
And he's going to attempt to touch you.
I know you're taking a dodge.
Does he have disadvantage?
Because I can see them?
Okay, and I do.
If anything, a deck throws with advantage.
Okay, you roll me a wisdom saving throw as he attempts to touch you as he charges towards you.
Does that get changed to a deck saving throw at that point?
I'm just reading what I'm seeing up there.
The spell he's trying to cast on you requires a wisdom saving throw, not a deck save.
I got a six.
I'll give you advantage on it because of the fact that you have the ability to dodge.
16?
16 is enough to skate off his spell.
He goes in to try to reach you and you just manage to take both of your hands and push off his attack.
But now you both are now in melee range.
The second one will be the half elf.
One of his forms is going to come towards you and he is going to take a slash at you.
I rolled a 13 on a disadvantage.
Is that enough to hit?
No, my armor class is 15, so.
Capitalizing on distraction by the men in the armor suits, the half elf attempts to also slash at you,
but you have just a keen sense of it and you manage to just duck and weave these series of attacks back and forth.
That will be their turn, Shodi.
Roll me a perception check, Shodi.
Hold on, mapping.
18.
The last thing you remember is falling.
Eventually you just seem to kind of be floating.
When you kind of open your eyes, you're no longer on the seas, but you're in some type of void somewhere else.
You look around and it seems like you're scattered amongst stars.
There seems to be things that seem to glitter and in the distance you notice something kind of slinking and snaking towards you.
Is that my turn?
Yeah, I'll say it's your turn.
Okay.
So, I'm prone on the ground, right?
Yes.
Okay.
So, it's half my movement to stand up, and then all I really see to do is to start climbing up this ship as quickly as I can.
So, you know, it takes half my movement to stand up.
You tell me how far up there I can get.
I would say you would probably be under halfway up, given the fact that you have to.
I won't throw a bomb this time.
Okay.
So, I'll just get halfway up there, and I'll hold an action to make an attack in case someone like pokes their head over the railing or something, but other than that, that's my turn.
Okay.
Anchor, you're up.
I'm gonna hold my turn then.
The same thing.
I'm gonna follow Kenny, and if Kenny gets up there, I'm going to attack anything that comes for us, comes within five feet of us.
Just have that attack roll on deck, because you most likely will get up there.
Gotcha.
Rad, you're up.
I'm gonna turn to Kenny and say, I'm not gonna stay in this fight long if I don't get a heal once you get up there, and I'm just gonna start making my way up there.
Okay, roll me an athletic check to climb up the side.
Natural one.
The first rung you try to, it breaks off.
You land back down on the ground.
I won't say you take any damage since you're at the bottom of the ship.
Kenny, you're up.
Roll in an athletic check to see how well you climb up.
18?
Yeah.
Easy enough between Anchor helping you and you both climbing up.
You both make it to the top of the ship, where you see Snavol engage with both the half elf as well as the Black Armored Paladin.
Okay, I'm going to go ahead and give everyone second level Cure Wounds, which is going to be 11 points of healing.
Actually, I wanted to everybody, everybody that I can see, which I think is everyone but Shoddy, actually.
Yeah, that's it.
Anchor, give me that attack roll for that hold action.
Okay.
And who are you going to go after?
Are you going to go after the half elf or are you going to go after the Paladin?
I'm going to go after the half elf first.
Okay.
So the first attack is a 18.
18 will hit.
And the second is a 12.
12 will not hit.
Okay, so he takes 13 points of damage.
As you crack through the half elf with your Warhammer, all of a sudden he kind of just shatters in place and it just disappears in a vapor as if it wasn't, that person was not there before.
And as you kind of look out in the back, you see him much further on the deck of the ship.
And he's got a smirk on his face as you killed off its second form.
Perfect.
Real quick, Eli, I'm sorry.
I forgot to do this.
As a bonus action, I'm using my Samurai shit to give me fighting spirit.
I get 5 temp HP advantage on my next attack.
Or my next attack rolls next turn.
The two Magistare are going to attempt to charm those who are standing on the railing of the ship.
Everybody who's there make me wisdom saving.
With advantage.
With advantage, as Kenny has blessed you all.
Except Shadi though.
Or I'm sorry, except Snowball.
I thought that she couldn't get you with heroism because of its touch.
Oh yeah.
Dad, then a straight roll for you.
Meek and a Floof is where the advantage of wisdom saving throws comes from.
And I didn't need to see them for that.
So Snowball has it.
Oh, okay.
Copy that then.
That's it.
What is it?
15.
Oh, 16.
Sorry.
16.
I have a 16 as well.
16.
23.
Kenny.
23.
Yeah.
They both go and attempt to cast out at you guys to charm you.
But it doesn't seem to hold any of you.
As you guys kind of shake it off given Kenny's beacon of hope.
That will be their turn to do the other fighter who is in the mix.
He's going to go for you, Kenny.
He's going to attempt to slash you.
Okay, I'm going to use a reaction for my Sentinel attack.
So I'll roll for the attack afterwards.
That was a natural 16.
Okay.
You take seven points of slashing damage as he slashes straight into you, Kenny, right
across the chest.
That will be his turn.
What was that attack for the Sentinel?
A 19.
A 19.
A 19 will hit.
He takes 12 points of damage.
As he cuts into Kenny and you return with your Sentinel another strike and it cuts into
him easily as he did not anticipate it.
As he starts to take a stance between you, Kenny, and the Sentinel.
That will be his turn to do snub wall.
You're up.
The Paladin is the only one there as Anchor has broken the other form of the Hathow.
I'm going to go ahead and do a stunning strike.
I'm going to expend a key point and if basically I can spend one key point to make the target
stun until the end of my next turn.
If you fail a consaving throw.
Let's see if it goes through.
It's a 23.
23 will hit.
Okay.
Consave?
Yep.
Consave.
Consave is a nine.
Sorry.
You are stunned.
Let me do the damage of that.
That is 10 points of damage.
Let's go ahead and do another arm-to-arm strike.
13.
13 does not hit.
Did you roll an advantage?
An advantage because he's stunned.
It was a 12.
No, it doesn't.
So now for my bonus action, I'm going to go ahead and do Furry up.
Furry up.
Furry up.
Furry up.
Furry up.
Does that attack?
Fuck.
Dirty 20.
13 will hit.
14.
14 points of damage.
Nice.
No, no, no.
Because it's two attacks.
The first one was the 20.
And then it was 14 for the second attack.
Oh.
First one goes.
Your second one does not.
Wait, did you roll an advantage?
Yeah, roll an advantage for the...
Oh.
Okay.
Fucking math.
13.
No.
The first attack will hit.
The second one will not.
Okay.
So plus the 10 and now an 8.
So 18 points of total damage.
And you are stunned.
Stunned.
As he went in to try to touch you and stuff like that, you capitalized on that and you
just managed to punch two solid hits, including that stunning strike.
And he seems to freeze up and constrict that one stunning strike.
Top of the round, which is him.
He's stunned so he can't do anything, right?
Oh.
Half L.
Since you've broken off that half L form anchor, he's going to make his way towards you.
He's going to use a bonus action to recaporalize his second form as he kind of, as he's running,
he's kind of breaking into two pieces of himself.
He's going to attack you with his sword.
That is a 17 to hit.
Misses.
Misses.
Okay.
Yeah.
He slashes at you wildly back and forth.
And he, you seem to step out of the way.
And the last strike just clips off your armor.
You're straddled between two of them that look exactly the same.
As they're both wielding their weapons at you.
Shoddy.
Hi.
Hi.
Last round in here.
As you're just kind of straddled in this weird plane or void, you don't quite know what you are.
In the distance, you see something moving towards you at a rapid pace.
This snake like creature.
It seems to have like this twisted pattern on its back that is made of like black and white scales.
And it seems to kind of shimmer with this type of like celestial energy.
Okay.
That's a huge snake.
That's a huge fucking snake.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
I'm going to try to like back pedal and nothing mess.
Yeah.
You keep kind of floating towards it, but it doesn't seem like you're moving a lot as you
feel entirely weightless.
But this snakeish creature is continuing to move towards you.
Hello.
Trigger up.
Okay.
I'm going to climb up to the top of the ship.
Can I make it there?
Roll me an athletic strike.
19.
Easy enough.
You you clamor up trying to make up lost time.
Eventually you get up onto the top of the rail.
Nexus snowball.
And I can throw myself over the railing and actually be on the deck.
Or do I have to like hang?
I can say with your amount of movement, you can get yourself over the deck onto the deck.
Okay.
Then I'll get I'll get on onto the ship and first thing getting over, I will use a bonus
action to cast Zephyr strap on myself and I will get advantage on this first attack
that I'm going to make against the guy in the black armor.
I'm going to call sharp shooter for minus five penalty and natural 20.
And I'm going to make it.
You know what I'm going to do, Eli?
What are you going to do?
I'm going to make it a trip attack.
What is that?
Is that a deck?
Is that a deck save?
That's a deck saving throw on a 14, which also means I mostly and most importantly get
an extra DA the damage, which will also be doubled.
And I get plus 10 to the damage.
And this is just my first attack, ladies and gentlemen.
I'm just getting warmed up here.
I will say you're giving yourself disadvantage on your next attacks because he'll be prone.
Well, but he has so many more of them that I can hit.
Please give me the collective total damage.
Okay, so that is 29 points of piercing damage and he might go prone.
It's a deck save or con save for the deck save.
14.
That's a 16 on the deck save.
He does not go prone.
That's totally fine.
I just wanted the damage.
So but now I have I'm Zephyrstract, which means I made that attack.
I get this turn.
I get an additional 30 feet of movement.
Nobody can do the opportunity attacks on me for the next minute.
I'm charging straight through the group to get to the other side.
So I come up behind the motherfucker before he even knows what happens.
And then I'm going to pop another shot into his back.
Okay.
Sharp shooter.
Roll me that attack table.
That is going to be with sharp shooter.
That would be a 24 to hit 24.
We'll hit.
Okay, I'm going to do the trip attack again.
Okay.
For a total of 27 points of piercing damage.
Christ.
Okay.
What's the next attack?
Does he have a guy within?
Does he have a friend within five feet of him?
Technically, yes.
The half out.
Okay.
Horde breaker.
Turn to attack that guy.
Okay.
Sharp shooter.
Okay.
21 to hit.
21 will hit.
I'll use no extra fancy juice on this one.
This will just be straight.
That's going to be 16 points of piercing damage on him.
Okay.
And positioning myself now running through the group as far away from them as I can.
And that's my turn.
All right.
Trig.
You climb over the top of the railing and stuff like that and you just with the speed of the wind,
if you pop off the shots onto the paladin and it just manages to hit critical points into his armor,
he seems to like jump over the deck with great speed getting behind him and land another shot at the half elf.
And he's as he's kind of closing in on anchor.
How lucky are you?
You managed to hit his actual form as it sticks into the back between his or his chainmail armor.
Anchor, you're up.
That was a lot of damage.
That's how we...
Okay.
Well, seeing that, you know, Trig has put big guy in a pretty beautiful space and then still drew the eye of the half elf guy.
I think I'm going to move and attack the big guy then.
Old green ice.
Okay.
Am I going to take an op attack from the half elf for doing so?
Yes, you will.
So I'll let him do that first then.
No, those will miss.
Okay.
So then I'm going to attack.
He's stunned already, right?
Yes, he's still stunned.
Okay.
I'll attack twice.
A 15.
Oh, I'm sorry, with advantage.
So the second one's a nat 20.
So that's a critical on my first move.
All right.
Nice.
The second one's a 21.
21.
Okay.
I'll give you damage for both of those.
The first is a critical.
I double the outcome, not the dice, right?
It's double the dice and then add your modifier.
And then add my modifier.
24 points of damage on the first two attacks.
And then I have great weapon master,
meaning that any time I crit with this weapon,
I get an extra attack that turn.
So I'm going to use that.
Are you going to use it on him?
Yeah.
Okay.
And that's another fucking natural 20.
Amazing.
Fucking 23 points of damage on top of that.
And then you know what?
Hey, fuck it, Eli.
Action surge.
I'll attack twice.
Okay.
25 for the first one.
And fucking 26 for the second.
All those old heads.
Fuck his shit up.
So it's another 20 points of damage on top of that.
How do you want to do this?
No way!
Oh my God.
Would you like me to fold him up for you?
Good job, dad.
Oh, fuck.
Okay, I like that trig made him prone.
So, well, tried to make him prone.
So I'm actually going to, I'm going to smack him in the chest.
As soon as he falls to the floor,
I'm going to tee him up and golf his fucking face.
And then just come down and smash over and over and over again
on the back of his spine.
Easy enough.
You sweep his legs.
You take your hammer and you just one right after the other.
The next one harder than the next one.
It just beats the helmet and the helmet on his head straight in
as it eventually just caves.
Amazing.
Anchor, roll me a perception check.
Oh, no.
Don't do that to me.
I have a 21.
Rad, Rad, you're up.
Okay.
What?
Rad is going to try to climb the ship so you can be useful.
Roll that life check.
He rolled a 12.
It takes you a couple moments,
but you eventually finally get up to the top of the ship.
This is both your hands eventually get on the rail as you push up
and you see the chaos.
By that time, you've seen Anchor kind of beat the head in of this paladin.
Do I have my action?
Yes, you still have your action.
Okay, I will cast Spirit Guardians.
Okay.
Oh, fuck yeah.
Everything within 30 feet of wherever I go,
wherever I walk,
basically I'm trying to protect my friends
and anything within 30 feet of me has to make a wisdom saving throw
in terms of enemies.
If they fail, they take some radiant damage.
What's the DC?
15.
All but one fail.
Okay.
So roll me that damage.
So those of them that fail are going to take 10 damage
as little surfing turtles flying in the air come up and smack them across the face.
You jump on top of the rail and you cast these little tiny surfing turtles
that just kind of shoot out at members of the Magistari
as well as the other fighter who's engaged and Talon.
It goes after the half elf,
but the half elf manages to kind of smack it out of its way
with its sword and it kind of just disappears in a poof of fey magic.
Right.
I want to...
How many magic lads are on the ship?
Okay.
From what you can tell there are two magic lads.
And then there's another dwarf.
There's another human fighter who's also there.
Those are the only ones who have engaged you.
The rest of the crew is kind of waiting around the...
around to see what is going to happen next.
They know what's happening.
Yeah.
The human fighter was the bitch that swung at you.
Okay.
Yes.
Then I'm going to use my channel divinity orders demand
and says I present my holy symbol.
Each creature of my choice they can see or hear me within 30 feet
must succeed on a wisdom saving throw or be charmed until the end of my next turn.
And the DC is 14.
Cool.
I'm going to try to charm everybody.
And that's for...
Everybody but best one.
Everybody.
Yes.
Okay.
14.
Sorry, the DC was 14.
To save out, to do not.
I would say both of the Magistari are charmed under your control.
Who?
Got the magic lads.
But the other two fighters managed to kind of shake off that charm.
I'm just going to hold up my hand like this because their verbal spells are the worst
and I want them to be quiet.
Then that's pretty much all I can do.
Actually, no.
Okay.
I'm going to cast resistance on anchor because he's still next to me,
which means with voice of authority, you can get a bonus action weapon attack on your
next turn.
Also, you get the additional d4 for saving throw because resistance.
One saving throw every turn.
Is it all saving throws?
And that's my turn.
Okay.
They're kind of in a daze just staring at you, Kenny.
The fighter though, who is still in front of you though, Kenny, is going to make an
attack on you.
17 hits.
You take 11 points of slashing damage.
As you are casting out your stuff, you just feel just this sharp pain across your chest
as you see the fighter in front of you and his blade just kind of licked with blood.
Snaval, you're up.
I'm going to rush at the fighter that just attacked Kenny because they're close within
me.
I'm going to go ahead and do an unarmed attack that is 16 and a 9 for my second attack.
First attack will hit.
Second will not.
Okay.
Okay.
With the addition, that's going to be 10 points of damage and I'm going to go ahead as for
my bonus action.
Okay, I'm just going to do a regular unarmed strike.
A dirty 20 on that one.
That one is only five points of damage.
Yeah, you take three nice good cracks.
It's not enough.
He's starting to get bloodied, but it's not enough to put him down.
But he turns his attention towards you and draws his weapon.
Anchor, as you have crushed the skull of this particular person and as you lift the hammer
up, you notice that the armor seems to kind of look looser on the body that was down there
before, which you notice is almost in the same way of that Jin would disguise themselves.
It seems to be another being who has replaced this particular Black Paladin.
He's not there.
You've crushed the head in so you don't know what it is or who it is, but you can tell
that it's not them.
We've been tricked.
It was too easy.
He's gone.
The half elf is going to engage with you, Anchor, as you've taken in those hits.
He's going to try to slash you.
18.
Totally hits.
It will be a dirty 20 for the second attack and then a three on the third attack.
Okay, two hit.
As you kind of like turn around to kind of tell everybody of what you've seen, all of
a sudden, like both the half elf and his other form just kind of jump on top of you and they
slash you back and forth.
The second you manage to dodge, but as you dodge, the other one comes through and slashes
you.
You take 13 points of slashing damage as they kind of batter you back and forth.
That'll end their turn.
As a snake creature comes forth towards you, the twist bands and it almost seems like it
starts to constrict itself around you.
It's a terrifying looking creature that looks up and it kind of continues to coil and coil
and coil.
And just when you think it's about to do something as its giant mouth just opens wide, you poof.
And when you poof back, you land hard onto the sea surface since you're still underwater.
But now you're here at the bottom of the ship.
Nobody's on the surface with you.
You can kind of see everybody up top.
What do you want to do?
Do I hear sounds of fighting up above?
Yeah, you hear swords clashing and spells being casted.
So they're the thickest stuff.
I'll climb one up.
We'll be an athletic show.
17.
With your large frame and your athleticism, you're able to add your motivation.
You're just throwing yourself all the way up to the top of the ship.
And you manage to get up there and you take in the scene.
The armored man's head has been caved in.
Anchor is currently fighting with a half-elf.
And other members seem to be just kind of standing there or engaging in attacks.
What do you want to do?
For my action, I'll...
The anchor's fighting the half-elf, yeah?
Yes.
And his secondary form.
Okay.
Then I'll cast Hold Person on the half-elf.
Okay.
Wisdom save against 15.
You rolled a nat 16.
God damn it.
Roll me the spell.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
14.
And then for my bonus action, can I hide?
Roll me a self-check.
I don't trust any of my dice.
Roll me the table.
Yep.
No.
I rolled another natural one.
It's going in dice rehab.
32.
Hey, guys, it's good to be back.
Actually, that will be really fucking hilarious.
Oh, Jesus.
Oh, God.
I'm going to be part rogue, I said.
It'll be fun, I said.
Oh, my.
Shodi, as you are attempting to hide and realizing that there's so many people on the ship and
there's so many things going on, and as you're kind of scanning the multitudes of faces around
you, one face in particular catches your eye.
Fuck me.
The human fighter that has been engaged with Kenny this entire time is a very familiar person.
That person is somebody you've met on the island of Parlis.
He is Maro.
And you remember the last time seeing him, he was swinging an axe at your head.
And just the sheer complications and stuff, you just kind of explode and that searing pain
coming from your brand on your arm just boosts energy.
You're just wracked with this ring in your ears.
Choose one of your cantrips and remove them from your cantrip list.
You know, you can use that cantrip.
Like permanently?
Like permanently remove that cantrip from your.
What?
That's not fair.
Oh, okay.
No more precedentation.
Oh, that's a kick in the nads.
Damn.
That's wild magic for you.
Oh, shit.
By minor illusion, I guess I had plans for you, friend.
No more.
Not anymore.
You're here with this disorienting ring through your brain and it just overwhelms you.
Fair.
Cool.
Well, then I'm just standing here.
Okay.
Can't wait for him to come get me.
Trig.
So, okay.
So we've got really only one guy left fighting us, right?
There's two members of the Magistare who seem to not be doing anything.
They seem to be kind of enthralled and just kind of swaying back and forth looking at Kenny,
but there is one other.
So now's a good time to get this over with, then.
I'm going to load a stick of dynamite into my crossbow.
And I'm going to, I'm going to point it in the direction of all the rest of the crew
that's just standing about gawking on the ship.
And I'm going to let it loose.
Okay, roll an attack for that.
And cast, well cast, so technically I'm casting hail of thorns at one guy in there
and then by extension hoping to blow a bunch of them up.
Okay.
With us on the damn ship.
No, no, no.
No, no, no.
This was not like that.
This was natural one.
But you shot, but you shot a stick of dynamite though, right?
Yeah, but I got a natural one.
I know, but you rolled a stick of dynamite though, right?
Yeah.
Roll me a deck save.
Oh my God.
We all died.
That's it.
Actually, everybody near Trig, roll me a deck save.
We're all near Trig.
I believe it's, I think it's all of us.
I think it's everybody.
I believe it's Neville.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's all of you.
Now you get the natural 20.
I'm so proud of your single.
What are you guys doing?
All right.
Dang it.
Five.
Nine.
Oh, thank God.
Dirty 20.
So everybody but Snavol and Trig rolled under 10.
Is that correct?
Yeah.
Trig has you.
As you just like load that dynamite and you put it out and stuff like that.
Maybe even about to say something witty and catchphrase.
Oh, I was.
You click the trigger of your crossbow and nothing happens.
And then you were like, oh no, and you drop your crossbow and jump out of the way.
So you see this, it also take a dive, but everybody else's doesn't catch on and the stick of dynamite explodes.
Fire in the hole.
You don't even have to say that.
Too late.
Everybody who failed, you take 15 points.
I feel like this is going to have negative ramifications for the way the group views trade.
You think?
If any of you guys were positioned on the rail still or still up against the rail,
I need you to make a dexterity save as well because the blast may push you off the rail.
So I would say that.
Who is that?
I guess that would be me.
I probably would be too.
Yeah.
I think I move forward past you, Kenny.
So I think you are right against the rails because we didn't move once we got out.
He said 11.
6.
I rolled an 18.
Oh, fuck.
The blast just goes off and everybody who failed, you guys kind of get slightly pushed,
but you manage to kind of hold yourself up against the rail.
But Kenny, that blast is enough to just kind of knock you over the side of the ship
and you fall to the ground.
Are you waterwalking?
Yeah, I'm just going to get the surface.
Fuck these.
You can't think to let it go before you hit the water.
I don't think it's a, it's not a concentration.
Concentration?
I don't know.
Well, I need to concentrate on my spirit guardians.
I roll a 16.
Okay.
You are good.
Does it look like the half health took damage in the blast?
Yes, he will take damage.
Hey, see, there, I still got one of them.
Yeah.
How do they do, how do they do anything wrong?
I got you covered, Erin.
Stop while you're ahead.
He saved out on the initial blast.
So he jumped out of the way, but he is not prone just on the attempt to go.
Kenny, you take, you take 13 points of fall damage
as you hit into the surface of the water hardest part.
Yes.
Are you still up?
I'm at 18.
Yeah, Kenny.
Okay.
Okay, okay, okay.
All right.
Well, my turn's over.
I'm sorry, Kenny.
Anchor.
I can't Sentinel attack dynamite.
I'm sorry.
Too bad.
I'm going to, so the half health was not prone?
Half of was not prone by the blast.
I'm going to fucking wail into this guy.
I get advantage because he's prone, right?
Yes, you do for melee attack.
I'm going to do three attacks because Zakiya gave me that bonus action as well.
So I'll use all three.
Get it.
The first is a 22.
22 will hit.
Second is a 25, I think.
25 will hit.
And the third is a 25 as well.
All three of those will hit.
28 points of damage.
28 points total.
Yeah.
He is going to use a reaction called Shadow Martyr that he's going to use his secondary form to protect you against one of those attacks.
So minus.
So minus one of them?
Minus one of them.
Okay.
So one of those was removed 12 points.
12 points.
So I said 28, so it's actually 15.
15.
Math?
Yes.
16.
16.
16.
Yeah.
As he's on the ground and so he's kind of scrambling for his weapon and you bring the war hammer over your head and as you do that, his secondary echo just jumps into its place.
And takes that residual damage.
He's still kind of crawling across the deck trying to reach for it.
But then you manage to delay two solid blows of your war hammer into it, into his back.
He looks pretty, pretty, pretty bloody, pretty hurt.
Okay.
And then I'll move right next to Rad.
Okay, copy that.
Rad, you're up.
Rad is going to, yeah, like get kind of back to back with anchor and still concentrating on Spirit Guardians, but I will use my term to shoot two Eldritch Blasts.
I'll say it to Magistar, one for each.
Okay.
That's cocked.
That's not, and that's 19 plus seven.
That'll hit.
So that's three damage to one of them.
Okay.
And then the other guy, if I roll a natural 20.
Ooh.
Yes.
Fuck it up.
Yes.
Feel the power flow through you.
13 Eldritch Blasts.
Nice.
Nice, nice, nice.
Yeah, you pop off the first one and it just knocks into the second one.
But the second one, you kind of like almost dig in just a little bit deeper as the ball kind of gets a little bit larger, a black Eldritch Energy to cast that out and it knocks the other one.
It does some pretty good damage, but as they do that, they're kind of been kind of in this hazy days.
But as soon as you strike both of them, they kind of shake it off and the charm that Kenny had casted on them has been lifted.
Yeah.
Kenny.
You've hit the bottom of the top of the seat.
Bottom of the top.
Surface as we were.
Surface, surface.
I don't know.
I like your word.
I think ocean top makes more sense.
Ocean.
The ocean ceiling.
Yeah, you're just kind of looking up at the sky now.
That there is ocean ground.
After thinking 20 points of damage, I think she's going to play more.
Come on.
Just radiant consumption.
It just happens and it's big and it's bright.
But now she's just aggressively crawling up the side of the ship to get back in the cage.
Okay.
How much damage does that radiant, that radiant blast is?
Because you are climbing up the side of a wooden ship with this heat damage.
Okay, so that's, it's mostly flair.
There's no like inherent damage against the ship.
She's just, I mean.
Okay.
I mean, I assume it's an area effect.
So I assume it would cause some damage.
Anyone within 10 feet of me takes eight points of damage.
Okay.
I would say as you're climbing up the side of this, you're just leaving this heavy
scorch mark on the side of the ship as you slowly climb.
Well, may that athletic check to climb the ship though?
Athletic was a 17 plus 219.
Awesome.
Just with just the raw anger and rage and the flame you have, you're just scaling up the
side of this wall, just leaving a giant ass burn mark all the way up the side of the
ship as you eventually climb over the top, just full of rage and radiant energy.
Anything else you want to do?
If I'm up on the top and I can see the human fighter, I'm going to cast command at first
level, which is a wisdom saving throw DC 14.
That is going to be shy.
That is a 12.
Okay.
What do you want him to do to drown?
Please kill him.
Okay.
So you're going to have him take a swan dive off the side.
Okay.
Yeah.
You just...
Is that Maro?
That is Maro.
You climb up and everybody around you just sees like the wires of your mask is starting
to bend and coil over revealing your part of your face that you want to keep hidden.
And just this flame of just raw fucking and angry ass energy just swirls around you as
you just point to the human fighter and you instruct him to take a swim off the side.
And he just kind of like freezes up and just seems to just like his eyes seem to kind of
glaze over with this like fire and your radiant energy.
And eventually he just slowly walks to the side of the ship and he just jumps off the
side of the ship just like walks right off of it without hesitation or or or anything.
And you just all of a sudden you just hear nothing and then a splash of water below.
Shodi from the ground starts crying again in fucking relief.
Yeah, that's all I can do for now.
Do I see Shodi crying?
We don't have time for a whole lot, but do I see it?
I would say that if you're just doing a residual glance you do notice that Shodi's kind of sunk
down at least and is kind of curling up, maybe not crying, but you see that something's up.
So the remaining two are the two Magistari and the rest of you and well the remaining
of the crew, but as you kind of look amongst and past the two Magistari, all you guys kind
of see are just like sailors and civil crewmen who are just a part of this ship, not necessarily
fighters.
Is there something you guys want to do?
Is the half health dead?
Oh no, the half health is not dead.
But he's prone on the ground, but like between the whole situation you guys have the upper
hand.
Okay, okay, so it doesn't look like he's fighting back.
He's scrambling for his sword and he might continue to continue to fight, but at the same
time there's six of you up on the ship and you've taken out most of the people who seem
to be threatening you guys currently.
The rest of it, they all seem to still be on the outskirts of it holding to see what will
happen.
I want to kick this sword away and then try and grapple the half health into my grasp,
like put him in a full nose.
Roll a strength check.
Okay.
What do you say?
When he's done with that, I want to say something to the crew that's just standing.
Okay.
Be-be-be-be-be, just straight strength?
Straight, yeah, strength or strength?
22.
22?
Yeah, that's easy enough.
You kick the sword, as he's still trying to reach, he's like almost there, like you
can see his fingers just touching just the hilt and stuff, and you eventually kick the
sword off and you just jump on top of him and put him in a hold and you just hold him
in place as he kind of cries out in pain slightly by the sudden backing of his arm behind his
back, but he doesn't move past that point.
If you try and move, I'll break your arm.
So, you guys are now standing on the deck of the ship.
Anchor, you have jumped onto the back of this half health and you kind of have him in an
arm lock and he's kind of been sudu.
And as the rest of you kind of look on to the rest of the deck, you see two of the
Magistare who are kind of looking anxiously at each other as they've just lost the charm
on them, but the rest of the crew around them seem the weapon drawn reluctant to step forward
to challenge you guys.
I'm going to go ahead and do an hour of reaping, so I'm going to go ahead and let out a really
massive roar, and everyone has to do a DC-12 save or they're frightened, so I'm going to
try to see if I can frighten the crew so we can have them jump off.
Wait, including us?
No, no, no.
You darling.
I'm going to shout that way.
I'm going to be scared anyway.
Okay.
You can do that.
Yeah, they all fail.
Sure.
Yeah.
Sure.
Sevens.
We'll take it.
So, yeah.
So, you just kind of step forward as everybody's kind of standing around and you just let loose
this just giant roar.
And as they kind of the rest of the team is off and settles, all the back crew just starts
dropping their weapons and they're just quite frightened.
And though the two Magistarys are frightened, they're still kind of standing at the ready
in case you guys plan to attack them, but they look quite scared and they're taking
a couple steps back.
Well, aren't you going to join your crew?
I ask the Magistarys.
They look at each other kind of nervously and they kind of shift their gaze back down
towards the half elf who is subdued by anger.
And as he's wiggling in your grasp, anger, he starts to kind of just chuckle.
What's so funny?
All right.
We're killing him now, right?
No.
We need to know what he knows.
What's so funny?
Why are you laughing?
Because you're too late.
Too late for what?
For what's going to happen next?
What happens next?
This keeps laughing and laughing and laughing.
Doesn't say anything to you.
How far are we from shore?
I'll roll the perception check.
24.
24?
The first thing you notice is that the sun is starting to set and you guys remember the
last time when you guys had arrived, you guys had arrived right before sunset.
So your first thing you know is that you're running out of residual time in terms of being
on the opposite side of this portal.
Oh, we're outside the portal still?
Yeah.
Oh, that's a problem.
Fuck.
All right.
Rad fuels the pressure and he's going to shoot two Eldritch Blasts at one of the Magistarys.
Okay.
Well, those attacks?
A 19 and an 18 plus.
Both of those will hit?
So one is 11 points of damage.
The other one is 7 points of damage to one Magistari.
Does it drop them?
It doesn't drop them because they didn't take any real damage over battle.
All right.
I'll shoot them and then I'll just kind of turn to the guy that's giggling and say,
you're not going to be laughing for long once we tear you all down.
I'll tell us what we want to know.
Yeah.
He looks at you anchor and he asks you, did you kill her?
Jin, did you kill her?
She was supposed to come with you on the ship, but I assume since she hasn't shown up that
you guys killed her, right?
Of course.
I did what I'm about to do to you.
Does killing me make you any better?
It helps me sleep at night.
Well, it doesn't matter.
He's already there on the island.
I'm jumping overboard.
So kill me if you need to.
Okay.
I throw a bomb at him.
Anchor.
Anchor.
Anchor.
Anchor.
I am inside of him, Trig.
He's on top of him.
He's on top of him.
If I see that, I'm not doing it.
I thought we would stand in opposite from him.
I'm not.
I had him in like a full Nelson.
The full Nelson legend.
Then I'm not doing that.
I'm going to, I guess, quickly try and do what I promised,
break one of his arms.
Break his fucking neck.
Roll an attack for it.
Okay.
This is just an unarmed?
Yeah, I would say this is an unarmed.
Breaking someone's neck requires 300 pounds for four.
I'm a dragonborn.
24.
24, 24 hits.
He takes six damage straight up.
All right.
If it's an unarmed strike.
But I'm trying to fucking separate his bones.
You take one of his arms and you just like kind of just drive
your knee into it and then you just eventually pull back
until you eventually hear it crack.
He kind of grunts out in pain and he starts laughing.
Do I believe him?
Can I inside check him?
At that point.
Yeah.
You can inside check him.
What are you inside trying to see?
I don't know.
I just see if he's lying about him already being on the island.
Okay.
That is a 13.
13?
He's kind of struggling under Anchor's weight and stuff like that.
And especially now that he's got his arms snapped off.
There isn't any indication that he's lying,
especially being in the predicament he is in.
Can I grab Rad?
And I'm going to say use him faster than all of us.
You have to get there and make sure he's lying.
If he's there with her.
Do I have water?
I have waterwalk, right?
We all have waterwalk.
All right.
Step of wins.
I can go ahead and double my speed and get the fuck out and walk on top.
I didn't realize we had a waterwalk still.
I'm fucking out.
So you guys are all leaving.
Search.
Did you want to stay on the boat?
I didn't want to force you into that.
Oh yeah.
I was probably going to head in the direction of Boron.
As long as I can be the last one off the boat.
Yeah.
I'm probably jumping off as Snoobal does.
We can't kill these people.
We can't?
No.
Then what do I do with this?
I suppose you could tell them all to get off the boat.
But you realize they'll drown out here in the expanse.
Yeah?
Bloody.
I'll wrap on.
Let's just fucking go.
Good man.
Okay.
I'm going to break his other arm, like I promised.
Okay.
I'm going to hold you for a check.
So you're leaving him there with?
With the crew.
And I mean, I guess, like we already told the crew,
we'll tell them to sail in the opposite direction.
Okay.
If they want to live.
Oh no.
Kill them.
Fucking kill them.
We're just as bad as them then.
He's right.
Dad capped and said that I can.
Right?
Oh my God.
We're not going to kill.
They're all.
I'm not there.
I'm not there.
I'm not there.
I'm not there.
This is all of your one chance.
You have one option.
Sail the other direction.
If you come for us, if you follow,
if you do anything this half elf says,
I promise you, you will all die.
And then I leave with trick.
Okay.
All right.
The first four of you make it.
And you guys just start booking across the ocean,
running straight for the portal.
And you guys eventually cross over to the other side,
leaving this one ship behind you.
Eventually you anchor and trig are close behind.
It takes you guys a while as you guys are far out at sea.
You're all just looking, sprinting.
We have the raft nearby, right?
Is that closer than the?
Yes.
The raft would be right as you guys cross back over the.
So that, could I say that anchor goes for the raft instead of the ship?
Yeah.
We'll all jump on the raft.
We're not that stupid.
All right.
You guys, you guys make a mad dash for across the portal to your ship.
You guys get back onto the boat and you guys head straight back to shore to Alginon.
Eventually just bring the boat straight up to shore.
You get off.
You run back into, back to the castle.
Sneval and Shoddy.
You guys kind of lead the way as you guys remember where Baran's quarters would have been in a room
on a spire somewhere across the way.
And eventually you guys make it to the door of where Baran's room is.
And the door is closed.
I bust it open.
Okay.
Roll me a wisdom saving throw.
Maybe.
No.
Oh, I'm going to cry today too.
Six.
Six?
Shoddy, you kick that door open and rush into the room.
The moment you walk into the room, this wave of fear just catches up to you
and you just stop in your tracks.
And when you kind of look up standing there over the bed where Baran would be sleeping
is a man in black armor.
Fuck.
And he kind of just turns around to you and he kind of like puts a finger up to his mouth
and says, shh, she's sleeping.
Oh.
I pull up behind Shoddy and I just kind of use her shoulder as like a crux to hold my
crossbow with and point at the guy.
Also roll me a wisdom saving throw.
Damn it.
I'm also very tall.
That's the point.
Probably have to roll one too.
I was going to say, yeah, I would have ran in and tried to like kick this motherfucker.
30-20.
Out of the way.
I rolled a 30-20 blow.
12.
Kenny anchor.
Are you guys going to come in and roll?
Yeah.
It was a wisdom save, you said?
Yes, a wisdom save.
I have a 17.
13.
All right.
Everybody saved out but Stavall and Shote.
Well, you guys are both frightened by this guy as just a sudden rush of fear just washes
over you.
He's kind of standing in between Baran and you guys as he looks at all of you.
He has his sword out and drawn and he looks like he's willing to use it.
Rad is worried about the kid and he's just going to say, let's do this outside away from
Baran.
But this involves her.
She's a part of this.
Is the sword pointed at Baran or at us?
The sword is pointed at Baran.
I'm going to cast Bane on him.
Okay.
I can do it once a day.
He has to make a charisma saving throw as I stab my finger.
The little drop of blood comes out as I cast it.
Natural 16.
Damn, I think that beats me.
Also, who's scared?
Stavall and Shote here.
I was going to say really quickly, I'm going to go ahead and already activate stillness
of mind and kind of meditate out of it so we can get out of that frightened state and
just be on the ready.
Okay.
I mean, I'm going to continue the offensive so I don't know if this guy wants to talk,
but I'm not talking.
Show me.
Throw me another wisdom saving throw.
Okay, natural 17 plus 18.
He tries to use a spell on you and doesn't work.
Did someone say they were also going to attack before I move on?
If I see that Rads on the offensive, I'm going to call this guy's bluff and as soon as Rads
next attack goes off, I'm going to charge four.
I got the plan.
The man in the armor.
Okay.
And when I see anchor run, I'm like, well, I'm fucking free to do whatever I want and
I'm going to pop off a fog cloud into the room.
Oh no.
No.
Wait, this could work because I don't see that way.
This could work.
And I still have that extra boost speed.
So I'm going to go ahead and grab the kid.
Seeing this fog cloud, Kenny is going to reflexively start praying.
So these kids can get healed.
I'm casting slow.
He needs to make a wisdom save.
So that's 23 points of healing for the homies.
All the homies.
Oh my God.
23.
Can you get 23?
Dude.
I did not save out of slow, so.
Okay, so he didn't beat a 15.
He did not beat a 15.
No, he did not.
Okay, great.
So his, a lot's going to happen to him.
Okay.
He's going to suffer minus two to his AC.
Okay.
His speed is halved.
Okay.
Dexterity saving throws, I believe, are a disadvantage.
And he can't use reactions.
Okay.
And he can only use an action or a bonus action, but not both.
Fuck, yeah.
Yeah.
If he casts a spell, he's got to roll the d20 on an 11 or higher.
It doesn't work.
And then he's, you know, every round he can try to save out of this.
As the smoke is enveloping the entirety of the room, I just shout out,
New Volgater!
Anchor, roll your attack at disadvantage.
Well, okay.
So as a bonus action, I can use my fighting spirit to give myself advantage.
Can I do that before I attack?
Sure.
Okay, so it would just be a regular roll?
It would be a straight roll.
Can I do both attacks or is this just a one attack situation?
I'm going to give you this as like a surprise round, so just one attack.
Okay.
I have a 19.
A 19 will hit.
He takes 10 points of damage.
Copy that.
Let's roll initiative, guys.
Okay.
For a second, I was hoping you would just let us keep making actions.
No.
Trig gets a 22.
I got a dirty 20.
Rad got a 12.
New Volgater has an 18.
An 8.
Trig, you're at top of the round.
Aha!
I'm going to run in the direction that I think this guy is in because I can't see anything
and if I try to shoot him for more than five feet away, I'll probably miss him.
So I'm going to run until I hit him and try to shoot him at point blank range.
Roll me an intelligence check.
See if you can figure out you're right through this room.
16.
Okay.
Sure, sure, sure.
Yeah, you go just straight ahead.
Eventually you see the form of this guy.
You're going to shoot him point blank range?
Yeah, I literally press both of my crossbows into his body and I start pulling the trigger.
Oh yeah, I'll aim for the eyes.
That's a good idea.
Okay.
That's still a disadvantage, right?
It's a probably.
Yeah, it's only fair.
Yeah.
He's wearing plate armor, so yeah.
Okay.
First attack.
Sharp shooter.
A disadvantage?
One of them was a natural 20, but I'm still going to, I get to probe his defenses because
the second one or the low roll is a 19 to hit.
Oh, I'm sorry.
No, it's not an idea.
It's a 14 to hit because the sharp 14 will not hit.
That's what I thought.
Second attack.
Sharp shooter.
21 to hit.
21 will hit.
And I'm going to make this a disarming attack to try to make him drop his weapon.
Wait, no, I'm not going to do that.
He's going to drop lumbarum.
I'm going to make this a trip attack and try to make him drop himself.
Okay.
So that's going to be 20 points of piercing damage and a DC 14 dexterity saving throw.
And if he fails, he goes pro.
That's disadvantage on saving throws because it's so slow.
That will not save.
So he does trip?
He does trip.
Yeah.
Because I have disadvantage on deck saved.
Nice.
I'm going to shoot him in the back while he's on the ground.
Okay.
With my crossbow expert attack.
Still a disadvantage.
Three levels of disadvantage.
It doesn't stop.
It doesn't stop.
I'm going to make this a precision attack to add a d8 to my attack roll, which did not
help very much.
And I forgot to call sharp shooter though.
So it's a four 15 to hit.
15 hits because it.
Well, there you go.
Well, that is just going to be a measly five points of damage.
And then can I use the remainder of my movement to sit on him?
To sit on him?
Yeah.
You heard me.
I mean, yeah, you can do it like.
I just want to make it way harder for him to stand back up.
All right.
You can try to sit down on him by grappling him.
Roll a straight check to contest it.
So here's the thing.
There it is.
It's a four.
Okay.
You try to sit down on him to try to like press him.
But when you do, you don't realize there's like spikes on the back of his armor.
So when you sit down, you just feel like this very uncomfortable spike on your ass.
Show to Europe.
I'm technically still frightened.
So I have to take all of my movement to get away from him, right?
Yes.
Ah, I hate this.
I'm going to instead pull out my short bow and like shakily knock an arrow and try to
remember where he was and take a shot.
Okay.
Don't hit her on.
Take a shot.
Do I have advantage because of the cloud because sneak attack because one of my friends is
in melee with him.
You can't see your friends.
But technically I am within five feet of him.
So technically we'll get advantage.
Pull me an intelligence check to see if you know that trig is there.
That's valid.
Oh, that's.
You heard me scream out.
That's better than I usually do.
I got a 15.
You would shakily knock the bow and you're covered like you just see nothing but fog and stuff
and you can't quite tell where to go.
But eventually you hear the loud cry of trig.
Trig.
You walk on to a general direction of where trig was.
Cool.
So does this count as sneak attack?
Allow it.
Yes.
Yeah.
If you hit it.
Let's see.
14.
14 does not hit.
Didn't think so.
One short I think.
Yeah.
And then I will close my eyes and try and get my shit together at the end of my turn
because I can't do anything else.
All right.
Yep.
You let off that.
You left a shaky arrow and all you hear is the sound of wood and nothing else.
Snowball you're up.
Okay.
I'm going to go ahead and sneak in with my speed.
Grab a hold of the baron and duck at the f out.
Okay.
Get the fucking go.
Get the baby out.
Get the baby the fuck out.
I'm going to run towards our boat if need be and if I have to I will push it out of here.
So I'm like I'll wait but that's my plan everybody.
Pull me a quick intelligence check.
Snowball.
What the fuck are those L guys?
Useless.
I only got a six.
It does take a good while for you to eventually find the bed and pick up baron.
I'll say you took most of the entire round to find baron to grab her and then you can
start using your movement to make your way out.
Yeah.
It's only right.
Yeah.
Okay.
So I'm just basically back to normal speed.
I'm just going to go ahead and out the door.
Am I out the door if I just full on book it?
I'd say you've gotten to the door since you had to take time to find baron in the clouds.
That's your turn.
It is our bad guy.
He's on the ground and he's going to use his action to summon something.
Oh boy.
Jesus.
Oh boy.
Oh boy.
Summoning.
Trigger only a perception check since you're right there.
Only a nine.
Oh it's ten.
It's ten?
Not bad.
That's kind of enough.
Trig as you kind of like hit the ground after like getting off of the spiked back of this
guy you notice on his hand two bands on his fingers and they start to glow.
One kind of glows a kind of whitish color and the other one a red color.
Oh dear.
And as you see those bands glowing you start to hear a very familiar whispering wind sound
starting to move through.
As all of a sudden the cloud smoke that's around you just dissipates and it blows away
and what you all see is just an empty room.
He's gone?
No he's still there.
He's still there.
Whatever blew all that wind and cloud smoke cloud away is not present.
It's just an empty room and the sound of wind.
So we can see but he's still there.
He's still there.
He's still there but you don't see what else is there.
That'll be his turn.
Rad you're up.
I think Rad's just gonna step up now that he can finally see this guy and he's going
to shoot a steam breath at him.
It's a 15 foot cone.
I think only this guy and Trigger is the way of it so they have to make deck saves.
The DC is 14 but he is disadvantaged.
Advantage I will not save out of it because of that.
I get the 14.
I have a 17.
He's going to take 7 fire damage.
You guys are going to take half that.
Is that your turn Rad?
Yep.
Oh boy.
Snavol does a 16 hit.
I have a 16.
A 16 does hit.
Snavol you're making a break for the door trying to leave with brawn in hand.
As you hit the threshold of the door something slams up against you a sudden burst of wind.
You take five points of damage and you're kind of pushed up against that wall in the
hallway.
Roll me a deck save.
See if you stay up or not.
24.
You manage to though being slammed hard up against the wall retain your stance as you
kind of keep pushing on and running away but something is following you.
When you kind of look back into the hallway you don't see anything anchor you're up.
So I am going to pop another Samurai's fighting spirit.
This gives me advantage on all attack rolls until the end of my turn and some temp HP so
I added that in and now I'm going to just fucking move up to him.
Is he still prone?
He's still prone right?
Yes he's still prone.
You know what though I'm not going to pop that then because I'm already going to get
advantage on this bitch.
Why would I do that?
So I take that back.
I'm just going to walk up and smack him a whole bunch like I always do.
Here's the first attack with advantage.
25.
25 will hit.
And then the second attack with advantage.
Natural 20.
Cool.
Go for it.
And then I get a third attack because great weapon master attack.
Anytime that I hit a critical I get a free attack so I'll be doing that.
And that one's a 27 so I imagine that hits too.
Okay.
Yes.
Fucking shit up.
Alright the first two damages which are not doubled so that's 12.
It takes 44 points of damage.
Let me get a perception check.
18.
You just you take your war club and you just start you know you go into town as he's kind
of almost in a way kind of crawling and as you kind of deal that like last kind of blow
like straight into his back and it kind of like bends in like his armor on his back.
You kind of kick the top of his helm off of his head as kind of skitters across the
floor and you notice a familiar like brown like brown curly hair of somebody you recognize.
Is he he's on his back right now.
He's on his back yeah and his head's facing the ground.
Can I use my movement to flip him over.
Sure and as you do you looking back at you those familiar green eyes of your youngest
brother Oz who's kind of breathing very staggeredly looking at you.
Kenny.
I don't know that.
I'm gonna run up to the lat.
I'm gonna cast a flick on it.
So that's okay.
Okay he is very hurt.
He's very bloody.
I rolled a 13 in yes 13 does not hit okay fine yeah you go into like attack him but
I would say anchor probably kind of pushed you pushed your hands out of the way as you
you lightly miss yeah I dropped the war club and immediately I try and grab Kenny by the
wrist to sort of divert the attention okay yeah then um that's I don't want to do anything
else I'm just gonna look at him okay why are we stopping he's my brother please don't
I beg of you top of the round trick you know what's worse than getting the spike up into
your ass I'm gonna shoot him in the general vicinity of his groin since he's now facing
up right no enough user nieces for anchor okay he is hurt he is bloody he is very hurt
just saying he's a bad guy I kill bad guys I don't care who they related to I know I
know I forgot to call sure that's okay maybe I won't kill him so that's gonna be a 28 to
hit 28 will hit yeah 28 will hit for four points of damage rolled a one so close yeah
did I get him where I intended to get him I mean you got him or you intended to get him
great I'm done okay anchors talk away yeah anchor as you're kind of like dealing with Kenny
just from like behind you just hear the footsteps of trig walk forward and it's
a loose of a crossbow bolt into the nether regions yeah this guy is bleeding out now
but he's still alive I picture you got about a minute what's going on a girl I don't get it
he's my brother I think unless it's a trick I don't know what it is but it's ours show
they've lied before you don't know what's true I'm gonna turn are the the wind things still
fucking with new ball and baron you saw you would have seen snowball get like slammed up
against the wall and like heard that but when you look in that general vicinity you don't see
anything can I walk with my hands out until I touch something potentially roll an investigation
check see if you can find it and nine now you keep taking those steps back and you're like
shakily like reaching out trying to see if you can tangibly grab on to something but you don't
then I just want to put myself in front of snowball and baron okay and knock another arrow
and hold my action for if he fucking moves to hurt anyone okay loosen it snowballs outside of
the room in the hallway now so you could straddle the doorway if you that's what you would like
to do or you can be out in the hallway I'll I'll straddle the doorway okay hold an arrow
for if any I'll just say hold an arrow for if anyone moves toward them that I can see okay
snowball go don't keep going for oh yeah you are good yeah I'm just gonna go as far as I can
regardless of what's happening there I'm just gonna go ahead ahead towards our boat roll a
perception check okay 18 18 you're sprinting down the hallway you're trying to find one of the
stairwells on the opposite side of this building structure and as you do you kind of skid your
tracks for the moment because you notice a body laying on the ground it is the body of
coella the the woman who was going to take care of baron which kind of makes sense that why
she's not present it looks like she put up a fight and was was killed and left there but
you kind of shake that off and you start running down the stairs and you're trying to make your
way out of the building how far do I get about the whole length of your movement right yeah
yeah I'm going though like that's the main objective and like am I just like at the door
exiting out or am I like out the door that's where you're making your way down the staircase I
would say you got to the bottom floor at the bottom of the staircase with all of your movement
okay thank you no problem back in the room bloodied and hurt anchor this person who's
looking at you your brother and he replies to everybody's doubts about whether or not it's
real and he says no I'm very much real spent a long time eris I immediately kneel down and
I see how hard he is and I want to brush away his hair and just sort of hold his face and
try and feel for myself whether this is real or not yeah I mean as you hold him in your
arms and stuff like that and just kind of keep looking at him yeah it really really is your
brother and he's kind of like coughing a little bit he's kind of holding on he's very hurt how
how could you do this how could you do this to us how could I do this to us how could you do
this to us you don't think there were going to be consequences for you leaving us this is not my
responsibility I didn't do this to you I never deserve this none of us really deserved it but
you just made everything so much worse for all of us because I didn't want to fight because I
didn't want to give away my life to something I didn't even understand no because you left
your family you left us all behind to deal with your consequences the others my family as you put
it are they like you I don't know what I do know is that they killed our father she flayed him
alive and left him hanging on the sides of the walls of the black tower and I haven't seen the
rest of them since there's no way if she was she loved him he he was a favorite yeah who had a
traitorous son rad your turn rad doesn't really understand what's happening he gets that they're
related but he he doesn't know why there's discussion he's gonna hold his action but he's
gonna try to reason with anchor like all right I get this is like a poignant family reunion but
I think we need to restrain this guy like he's not a good guy right he's not he's not at all then
then I will start grabbing some rope and tying them up okay snub all you've made it to the bottom
of the staircase you are you are looking about trying to find yourself safety with Baran and
as you're kind of looking around you again hear that familiar sound of wind kind of gathering
and collecting all of a sudden you feel this kind of rush moving towards you but you managed to kind
of duck out of the way because you rolled really low roll me a perception check 16 16 as you kind of
dodge out of the way kind of rolling and getting back up to your feet you kind of look around and
you noticed a bunch of like the curtains in the tapestry on some of the windows nearby in this
hallway starting to kind of fluster and move it down one of the hallways stop run I saw them yeah
I'm still gonna try to I'm gonna save my key for right now and just continue running okay anchor
um I think I'm going to plant a kiss on Oz's forehead and wipe back his hair behind his ears
and then help Rad tie him up okay uh I'll say for just think it was just for me a strength check
okay 25 he rolled the one anchor he tries to give you some fight but you guys managed both of
you to tie him up put rope between his fingers if he can cast spells it'll stop him put rope
between his fingers sure how's new ball she ran out with her on you need to find her someone go
look for her I'll go I'm still afraid anyway so I'll go I've got I've got with action movement
and cunning action I can go 90 feet around okay I would say that would on your turn that would
bring you back down to where Snaval is okay I don't have anything I need to do really I guess
I'm just gonna ask are we what are we doing we're not killing him now but what do you want to do
you've got to die baron baron is first we have to find baron we have to say and then we can talk
then I guess we'll hold Kenny's gonna keep her spear out but if if he is in needing of
judgment if we truly do need to see that through then should answer for his crimes here I'll take
him wherever he needs to go to answer for them but we have to save baron first trig well I figure
one way or the other he's got to die so anchor you're either gonna have to finish him off or you
can step out of the room and let me take care of it I said that I will watch him trig and I
appreciate your concern but I think I should be the one to handle that okay I'm gonna go find
baron now and I'm gonna leave okay I don't like that I'm gonna leave that should take that should
be enough to take you all the way downstairs to at least see Snaval standing in the middle of
foyer trying to figure out her next move wait I thought I made it out of the building where am I
still stuck there um in your next move you'll be able to I was just retro subbing while you're
while you were down there showday yeah I'll use all my movement action dash just to get to them
okay and keep close and okay now Snaval so yeah by the time you start taking off then you would
have noticed anchor uh trig and uh shoddy making it down the stairway um at the very least on their
way to trailing you um what do you want to do wait is ever is everybody all right but like
is are they dead it's anchors brother and he's not exactly all right well we'll see you later
all right well you know her kid take us dead did we just go what do we wait take her on back to
a boat all right I'm just gonna run up be more familiar for her follow me and I'm just gonna go
ahead and run up and as far as I can go my turn just back up at the room um since he is tied up
he can't really do much actually no can he breaks loose he was back to full health
he was an illusion he was he was illusion this whole time he tries to struggle out of his bonds
but he can't he's weak he's he's he's he's literally still bleeding out on the floors like a pool of
blood is starting to to pull out it's probably a one hit point two I mean if if he if he's really
genuinely trying to get out of the things we put in I'm just gonna take the back of my longboard
and just knock him out knock him out perfect okay I can kill him I was thinking yeah roll attack
19 plus he's gonna deal a d6 plus two or something like that uh that's six non-lethal damage okay yeah
I mean with that you you managed to to crack him and he just stops moving
he eventually just falls and he keeps on the floor um which I will say that will sorry anchor
it's okay it's okay say that's technically your turn is there anything you wanted to do
on your turn rad nope I if there's a wind spirit still around I'll probably go investigate that
but otherwise all right snoball oh no you're leading the pack which which shoddy and trig
right behind you as you guys are trying to make your way back to the boat um but just on the back
of your perception you you hear the wind gathering again um I rolled 23 on both of them because I
rolled two 18s whoa um you take 17 points of damage as you're just slammed by this wind this wind
just snoball because snoball is holding baron also make me a strength check
or strength save actually okay um I'm gonna go ahead and I think due to like my martial arts I'm
gonna use my dexit because I think I could just swap that out instead I think that's just with
weapons that you can do that oh don't matter I got the fuck oh no oh no I got a d1 don't matter
this one yeah okay so not one there you go yeah okay yeah you get slammed twice by this like just
one to the left and then one to the right um and it kind of loosens your hold on baron in the process
and as you do baron gets swept up in that wind and is now being lifted up into the air anchor
it's your turn um I'm going to fireman's carry Oz onto one shoulder um sheath my war club and then
draw my longsword and then I'm guess I'm gonna head in the direction of baron okay cool cool cool
Kenny um all right if we're moving out then I'm not confident that us getting between the
year in the boat is not going to do something to kill this man so I'm going to cast spare the dying
on him um okay and that's it I just moved towards baron
trig you're up baron has been taken and it's going up into the sky you don't mess with
seven moms in there baby I'm just gonna shoot up but I'll be making sure that I'm just shooting to
the side of baron leaving you know a plenty plenty wide margin for comfort that I'm not
going to hit her okay do you want just straight rolls or like a disadvantage or something um
it'll be a straight roll for this one okay so first attack sharp shooter it's only a 10 to hit
10 does not hit second attack sharp shooter that is a 22 to hit 22 will hit
uh so then that will be 16 points of piercing damage okay uh third attack crossbow expert
uh I forgot to say sharp shooter before I rolled but that's okay it's a 24 24 we'll hit
it for eight points of piercing damage okay and they have our kid so I'm gonna action surge to try
to knock her down okay if it's necessary is she still floating up yeah she's still floating up
okay so then that is a 20 or a 15 to hit 15 we'll hit yes yes good good good lucky I forgot to
say action sir uh sharp that one that is uh nine points of piercing damage second action surge
attack sharp shooter okay oh 16 16 will hit 14 points of piercing damage nice all right that's
everything I got okay yeah you you rising to the occasion to to save baron you just rapid
fire rapid fire bolts off um it seems to make some type of purchase but it is a wind spirit so
the the bolts do like it makes some type of hit with like mass but it just kind of keeps going um
it does it does some damage but baron is still being held tightly show day uh I'm fireballing
that bitch I'm gonna try and hit like the same spots that the trig was hitting with uh with which
I'm gonna call it uh crossbow bolts I have to make a range spell attack don't
uh 10 10 does not hit hmm I'm mad um oh hold on what's the 16 okay um how high above us are they
um they're currently 20 feet up okay never mind then um
I I'm just gonna follow underneath in case she gets dropped and just stay under her snowball
okay you said they were 25 feet up 20 feet up yes 20 feet up and jumping is half your walking
speed right guys yes okay so I'm gonna go ahead and uh get up run and jump towards baron I'll
use uh steps of wind because that doubles my speed and jump I'm gonna go ahead and make an attempt
for baron okay
roll me an athletics check come on don't me
can it be acrobatics sure
that uh nine a nine
yeah I rolled really bad and it was serious I hope my acrobatics they gave me the score okay
yeah nine all right you you run damn and you jump and you kind of I don't know if like you just
didn't use the right amount of momentum to get up there but you just kind of rake the bottom
of like baron's toes and stuff but like okay not enough to be able to even like grab on to her in
any way um as you land back down I can't like I back it because I get uh I'm gonna go ahead and
you because I have another action I'm gonna go ahead and do my uh hour of reaping and they have
to do was I'm saving throw of 12 and see if I can frighten them oh shit oh shit
what is the dc 12 I made a nine yes yeah yes okay this roaring thing is working today
amazing so when I epically fail at a frustration and pure anger that's when we go ahead and let
one rip okay yeah you do you take once you like land on the ground and stuff like that you kind of
just like take a ready stance and you just dig deep and you just let out this earth's shattering roar
you hear the screeching of this like creature like you did previously in the jungle and stuff
like that just being racked by this loud concussive sound um and eventually it just
starts to break up and dissipate and disappear and then brawn just like
suspends for just like a moment and then just starts to this fall to the ground I think we're
both under her but just like like 10 or feet or so and stuff like that she eventually just like
starts to poof and she starts to float and eventually she just starts to
fall like a little feather drift add a girl into your arms shoddy I wrap her up close and like
cry a little bit good job people cool by now the rest of you rad anchor kenny you guys have
have managed to come out of the building um where you see uh shoddy holding on to to baron
and brawn's kind of smiling gives gives them a big ol hug I just kiss her face and
snuggler should we be worried that she just saw a dead woman and is smiling is it over
is there anyone left to fight yeah just this one guy that you're holding yeah wait no but we have
to know like question is that creature gonna come back for baron if we leave her here what's like
what do we do I don't think so I think it came with this guy as long as this has been dealt with
I think that Oz was waiting here he was already in here at least that's my guess
so trick you also remember the rings he had on his fingers oh also he had some reins and he
pulled on the rain and then there was a gust of wind and I think that's how these guys got here
I don't know if that tracks or not but that's what I think I'm coming to take everything away from him
I'll take off the rings and I'll hold the weight taking off the reins is how he did it
that they just glowed on us no it just glowed on his hands okay that makes way more sense are you sure
no I don't think so don't take them off I'll take them off and I'll hand them to trig
oh we can remove everything else I I think anything that gives him any abilities we should
dispose of or on the edge of his life right now so we can do what we will with him take his armor
take his weapons keep keep the rope between his fingers don't let him cast spells Eli how much
longer till sunset um roll me a perception check okay uh 23 you're not you're not quite um to the
shore where your boat is but you are kind of on an incline enough to where you can kind of see that
a bit of the bay and out into the horizon to the open sea what do you notice is that um
what you see on the on the opposite side of that portal is the sun setting um and it's starting to
even just like just on the tip of the horizon going down any more ships all right everyone we need
to make a decision now do we leave with baron do we stay we don't we can leave whatever we want
we're not bound by it doesn't matter we can leave whatever we can't come back once we leave that's
the thing like we can we don't wear no rush we can we can figure this out here we can take her to
the elves right now and see what needs to be done to ensure her protection they clearly didn't do
anything uh the portal was open we knew the the score they knew from the beginning where we were
going and what we were doing there weren't even guards there was one person and she died pretty
much that that sucks pretty bad we have to have faith that tangua told me what it was doing and
interesting her to i mean granted though no one's going to be able to get back in for the next like
10 years or whatever so at least for 10 years do we know that for sure though i think we do we
have no reason to distress the people who sent us on this mission
rad what are your thoughts i think there's certainly no reason to bring baron with us
we have to leave her here i know
she'll be okay shouting i know
for 10 years at least then who knows what well hopefully in 10 years we won't have to worry
about and protect the island or hopefully in 10 years they've managed to hire some sort of security
hopefully in 10 years there are no more missing pieces of the soul render
hopefully we found some way to prevent whatever it is they're planning and they are planning
well we're ready for them so you guys are going to go to see iranus and uh bring aas and and stuff
to him yeah i'm walking that way you've got some questions to answer um yeah so after um as soon
as you guys as you do that as you guys start to gather yourselves um some of all and you're still
kind of eyes on the horizon um eventually you just see the the sun finally dip below um and you
just notice just a small little flash of just green on the horizon um but you all take aas and
baron and and the rest of you um and you head back to uh the hall uh where you first met iranus
and eventually after a few moments um he comes and joins you in the hall um and he sees the the body
of of aas that you guys kind of have on the ground so i assume this is the the source of all the
the trouble and as he kind of looks down at at the body yes he is an agent of the queen sent to
retrieve baron and the fleet his no doubt is is it gone though oh it's gone they're taken care of
oh it's gone we sent a ship full of crew members out of the portal headed home we didn't want to kill
the innocence you didn't want to kill the innocence i didn't want to kill the innocence i don't think
they were so innocent person innocent i used to be one of them so if you have anything to say
i'd say it with your chest you don't know what it's like over there no one does
all right i'm leaving trig don't go i'll walk out of the room no trig so who do you have now to
watch baron since um i'm so sorry her uh caretaker is no longer living we would find someone else
there are many people who live on the island who could be just as adequate of a caretaker as
she was so not at all just make sure they sign something kenny yes just pass it along whoever's
going to be primary cat needs to sign this and what do you want to do with this one down here
if it is okay with everyone here i would like to take him to the order so that i could fill them
in on the full breast of the situation and then i would see him judged accordingly by the order
and then i will begin searching for my other brothers all right is anyone opposed
ilay i'm going to make a quick prayer regarding that guy uh it's on the floor okay see what is
told about me about him um what are you looking for exactly this if it's his time or not and if so if
he needs to cross over i am i'm going to go ahead and uh go to anchor and i'm going to
put my hand on him be like he may not have much more but um it's not this very moment so i'm
gonna do you need help carrying him i appreciate it snvall i really do but no i'm okay okay and
i'll back off and i'm going to keep my eyes on pause are you guys planning to immediately
leave from this point or are you guys planning or intending to stay here at el jenon for the next
day or so i think we need rest i could use a vacation
okay i could use some taffy i'm gonna pull it out rip and have i assume are we back are we still
in the front room yes you're still there i think i assume you have some sort of uh
in but like very fancy some sort of bath some sort of spa related crew
i imagine this is where you're putting your security budget towards and now i think it would
be great to take advantage of that tonight that's that's a good idea um yeah there there are hot
springs here that we use at a in a bath house that you're more than welcome to use and you
quite earned it um king around us have you got any guards we have a small residual guards but it's
not in anything in terms of like an army you will need to assign at least one of them
to baron for her stay here
okay if that eases your mind then that can be arranged
they got into your city they got into your castle very easily tonight
i understand that your portals close but that doesn't mean
they're not always going to that doesn't mean they're not going to find another way in
i can assure you past this point she will be as safe as she can be
the child should be protected as your life is
and she would this is the first fleet they're sending it will not be the last
it will try everything they can to get past whatever barrier
well then i guess we'll have to start preparing for that inevitability
oh do could you uh do you have a area where we can resupply for our ship yeah there would be
supplies uh anchor how's that the gust stone thing you have is that like gone now no it's
still kicking the last i saw it was still in the ssff i don't know if that broke in the way over
but it may need to be resupplied soon because we were resupplied it at the beginning of the season
but um we can stop in a saw way if that's the what we need or maybe the elves have one
i don't know uh your highness do you have cells somewhere in the kingdom somewhere i can keep
my brother um yes there there's um there's a place we can keep him for the time being until
it is time for you to to move on and with that um eranus uh gives you guys a place to stay for
the night within the within the confines of his castle um there's food hot spring baths for you
guys all to take um after weeks and weeks of travel on the seas and all seems to be well
you guys enjoy the the time here at el jenon enjoying the beaches enjoying some of the things that
the you know the elves um have in their day to day lives there's uh you find that they're they're
really involved in like a lot of technology and science as well as literature enjoying um the
beauty of nature and whatnot how many days you guys can i send a message to um my pirate friend
can i like say that i did it same day because okay because we sent a few people running just
wanted to be sure um take your pick from the ships we sent running try to spare the crew or at least
tell me so that's the one word away but that's fine that's it i said um
um there's a slight delay you get a message you get a message back already did spared what we could
heading back home good old fashion pirate justice that's fair um i'll point out that
you know you you said everybody else is doing that but trig's not where's where did trig go
trig's nowhere to be seen he didn't tell anyone where he was going he went off and he found his own
little spot in the woods and he started building himself a one-man boat okay i think i spend for
as many days as we're here it's spent next to os in his cell to ensure that he does not break out
he does not nothing goes wrong there i want to get this fucker to us all away as soon as possible
so yeah yeah a couple days three days okay that's my money anchor was there anybody else
anchor was there anything you needed to talk to us i think for these three days completely silent
even if he's awake i don't say a goddamn word i'm just sitting by him i'll take care of him i'll
feed him give him water make sure you know he's clean and taken care of but outside with that no
words okay neither of you exchanged words during this entire three days but the rest of you do
spend and enjoy your time here on aljanon um but after like the third day you all start getting
kind of the feeling that it's time to move on time to do other things and you start asking
for your ships to be resupplied um trig roll me a roll me a roll me a quick intelligence check
three three i mean you're you're you're working you're working feverishly you got a frame of
some kind it looks like a boat ish but it's got a lot of holes in it it's got a lot of stuff that
doesn't like wood that doesn't quite meet up it's more of like maddening frustration
like you just never came out of the woods yep nope i'm the help he's not he hasn't talked to anybody
yeah can i say on the third day when we're starting to get everything resupplied i want to go look for
him okay yes he's not far off he's off he's off like near the shore like a couple a little bit inland
but you you hear the sound of like a machete or like a a sword being whacked against a trelin
trig boat don't sneak up on me like that i can't help it i'm you see what happened to people that
sneak up on me no actually not many people sneak up sneak up on you and there's a reason for that
i can tell what you want well we're leaving soon yeah so am i
with us right i don't think so trig why because you're you guys are going a completely different
direction than me now i can't be around anchor anymore after he spared that guy what no way
i can't if i went with you guys i'd kill him and i'd have to kill anchor too for sparing the guy
he's not i can't do that he's taking into justice that's sparing him he should be dead already
he did bad things bad isn't black and white neither is good there's no polarity everything
exists in the middle well i can't abide by it okay all right trig trig i've done terrible things
i've killed people i've stolen things i've i've hurt people i've i've done terrible things
am i a bad person i don't know if that applies to me why doesn't apply to anchor or kenny or
snooble you you're not making you're not making a very good argument for me not going off on my own
i think i'm making a very good argument for you not going off on your own
i've done terrible things and you've still done very nice things for me
and i've still done very nice things for you and i've still done things that i think are good
in the world even if they're not technically right i've hurt people i've stolen things like i said
you said yourself you didn't know if i was a bad person for that i guess it depends on who you
took it from regular people but i was scared and i needed help and i didn't know how to ask for it
so i took it because i couldn't do anything else does that make me a bad person i don't know
i don't want to think about it that's part of being in the world though you've got to think
about it it's not it's never going to be well i hate thinking about things so much i know it's
much easier when it's black and white or one side or the other we're in the weird gray middle
and we do a really good job of working together to do things that i think are good
even if they're not always technically right anchor's not gonna like being around me anyway
i'm gonna have to go kill a whole bunch of people after this and i don't think he wants to be anywhere
near it and if he doesn't want to be anywhere near it i don't want to be anywhere near him
does it have to be now could it wait no i gotta go why no because there's people out there that
they're hurting good people out there that are hurting there's always gonna be good people that
hurt him exactly i gotta go now it's not all of you you're right it's not all about me it's all
about them no i'm not saying it's not about you i'm saying it's not on you i'm sure it is
no people have suffered for years people are going to be suffering for years and that's not
something you can change now they're my watch the world's a big place and you're one person and if
we work together if all six of us together can get one very special kid to an island that doesn't
even exist think about how many people we can help together please trek
well i think you guys are gonna have a really good time doing that but i can't go the direction
that you're gonna go i'm sorry i just can't will you still help me yeah i'll still help you i'll
be helping you before you even know that you're being helped well if that's what you're set on um
be safe don't do anything stupid or stupider than you usually do i'll try not to all right oh here
one of your way back will you give this to boron and i hand her my my cowboy hat i can get another one
okay you should you should give it to yourself no i don't want to cry in front of everybody
okay all right trek i think we call that a Freudian slip
just all right well i'm gonna like lean my big head over and kiss him on the top of the head
i'll see you around the ship is resupplied you are about ready to um head off but Iranis does
quickly come to you um uh with boron and another elven woman who is her her new caretaker um and
he says there's one thing i'd like to show you all before you leave um and with that he takes you
guys to a different part of the the castle and and you guys enter into a very large room as you
kind of look at it um and take it in you notice that the floor is made up of the entirety of the
map of Ashoka um everything from parlis to smithera all the way to all the way north to
irish um and then as you kind of look up above you you see this like dome kind of structure and it
kind of mimics what looks like um the night sky and there's looks like to be kind of contraptions
that like had levers of like the sun and the moon and Iranis says over the last couple of days we've
been trying to figure out exactly what this is involving boron uh nok had mentioned that she was
a map of some kind and we um we begin to kind of test it and let me show you um so he leads boron
to the middle of the the map of the floor he starts to kind of say something to her and
symbol you remember various points throughout the trip um you and boron kind of learning to
meditate together um and she kind of sits down in the middle of this map and she kind of starts
doing that where she kind of crosses her legs and takes a couple deep breaths and eventually as she
does that you remember the familiar glowing light of the stone in her head um and eventually it just
beams this bright light that kind of goes up to the top of the dome and cascades over and falls
and what you guys see on the map is several dots illuminating and as those lights are kind of glowing
in those residual spots across the map um Iranis speaks up and he says we think this may be where
the remnants those other fragments of soul render might be
oh no seven seven fragments we're not sure we're not we're not sure if they're bonded to people
we're not sure if they're just lost somewhere in the temple somewhere as all we know is that
this potentially are the locations of where they might be this is the case they may have
four in their territories already there's one of the rope would you're right there
must have sailed right by it you can turn actually it's seven two it would be extremely
much to ask though ask more of you you've done already so much to bring one here but you are the
only ones who know really about this as long as there are parts of these fragments of soul
render in existence there's always a chance that in the wrong hands it could spell disaster for
all of Ashoka we have to do this i'm glad someone else said it if if any of you would like to get
off of this ship now this would be a very good chance because this has to be done and
whoever would like to come along i i'm doing this
look at them all i've got nowhere better to be at least until limos tells me more about himself
so i'm along it's good to have you along co-captain this sony's can't get them i'm in
perfect kenny i know you don't do this line of work often but i would be so lost without you
i i guess i can clear my schedule i am kind of i was praying that a whole time asking for an image
and i got exactly and i'm gonna go and be like are you okay with adding one more and letting me
join you of course you can go where's trig we should inform him that there's now seven more
places he can blow up i don't think he's gonna want to come why not he thinks he has other places to
be other people to save i you can try but he he doesn't want to come but i that was before
we know about this maybe this will change his mind well i i don't want to force him into a
situation he doesn't want to be a part of i'm going to miss him though he's a good man that might
rad you you became friends with trig do you want to give it a shot uh yeah i yeah absolutely let's
let's all go and convince baby trig to come and join us i'm i'm trying to think of like
cuz rad kind of just got that connection maybe that could like maybe that'll get him a little bit
uncurrent might do for him to hear that you want him around you'll miss him if not i will grab him
like a puppy okay that could work too no you find you find trig on the beach um
still making his boat still working come on dude we're gonna go blow some stuff up you want to
join us i got my own stuff to blow up well we just found out there might be seven more barons out
there in the world you're really going to pass that opportunity up there's plenty of room i don't
think i can go with you guys if your brother look oh if your brother's going alone i can't go with
you he's only going as far as the salway when i see the order and i cannot go to you with you to
a salway well trig if he's uh not denying that he's not dangerous but wouldn't you want to be near
bind in case that does happen and do that to protect us i can't say i won't kill him i didn't
say that i just said are you okay with protecting us no i mean i don't know if i can't not kill him
trig there are bigger things in place here we need to see the people who can maneuver things
against the sassanians if the order doesn't know if odin now is not informed there are so many things
in place that will crumble before they're able to fight and that's exactly why i can't go with you
because that's your thing my thing is putting arrows into bad guys i think the man said his
peace guys well okay there's please trig last time please maybe i'll find you later we'll be looking
for you uh keep listening for god huh how would you know about that
i'm claire it was good to know you trig you're a fine man and i hope that we meet somewhere
down the line i hope you see that the world is a little bit bigger than we think i think
trig just turns his back to hide the fact that he's crying and he just keeps pounding away on the boat
i'll see you around maybe it's it's a good boat by the way it will take you years at this pace but
it's a good boat only gotta hold one person you guys go back to your ship it's been resupplied
it's ready to go um there's clear skies ahead um um aranis is down there with with baron and
baron is is they're all standing at the shoreline and you know you're you're at that point where
it's just like he's gotta start getting on the boat but you know you have to start saying
your goodbyes any last things you guys would like to say to baron kina i'm gonna pick up baron
and then i'm gonna be like to aranis i'll be like make sure you do this and i'm just gonna be like
take care throw up really high in the air obviously to write to aranis like so it would
literally he he would have to be drunk to miss it but she goes kind of yeah she goes up high
eventually she kind of poofs and levitates and slows his folds down um it's how high it's our
thing um baranis kind of grabs her she floats down into his arms um anything else guys um i'll
plunk the the hat on her head and i'll pick her up and give her a big hug and a kiss to you've got
lots more moms now and that's very good and they're going to take very good care of you and
um we love you and that's that's very important and shoddy's gonna get on the boat before they
start crying again just as you like hug her and stuff like that she she kind of is like
moving her mouth a little bit like she's trying to find a way to like say it but eventually she
says to you thank you in common
she says it in common for you to understand
and like the hat kind of slides over her head
she kind of picks it back up over i just kiss her little face a bunch of times and they
cry a lot the rest of you guys board your ship you have Oz with you he's tied up and he's kind of
stored away in your guys's uh little shell hut that Trig and Maid you guys look at each other
for a moment and you guys begin to cast off back to the open seas on your way south to Asalway
leaving Trig behind Moran and the island of Algernon is eventually you guys cross the portal
and it disappears out of sight and that's it guys that's the season very nice you know it's real
because I like
you
