and we are live.
All right, well, I am Sergio, your host of Iron Sworn Eye of the Storm, welcome.
With me today is a very special guest.
You may know them as Agent Tuck of Doom to Repeat.
You may know them as Theo Denanda of the insanely silly and funny
Morgoth versus Visigoth one shot we did last week.
Definitely check it out if you haven't seen it.
But it's none other than Allegra. Hi Allegra.
Friends.
Good to see you.
Good to see you. I'm very excited for whether or not half survives this.
Yeah, I'm very excited to because you are a part of I think what is going to be a pretty crazy session.
Let me let me recap for everyone that is catching up.
Our iron lander half went with a group of iron mongers to this hallowed ruin.
That supposedly a previous leader of the iron mongers was left behind at.
So they came upon this hallowed ruin that was basically some kind of old building maybe existed even before the storm.
But inside that building they knew were these iron pillars that we discussed are kind of intermittently littered throughout the land.
So half and the iron mongers decided to go in to look for this former leader.
And while digging some of them were injured.
Some of them were attacked by these things called husks that were like zombified humans with black skin black eyes.
And you came upon many murals that kind of described that this was a sacred place where people would study the iron pillars and and the murals depicted that that a lot of people gained great power thanks to these pillars.
But many people were also corrupted by them as well.
There was like a 5050 chance depending and sure enough after kind of surviving some traps and whittling down the the iron mongers almost intentionally.
You guys have eventually found this large open room at where there were the iron pillars and in the middle of the formation was a man kind of sitting Indian style meditating and the iron mongers just knew it.
They knew that it was the leader and they rushed over to try to talk to him and all he did was turn around and like raise his hand put his hand out and husks began erupting out of the walls and attacking them.
And that is when half new, you know, he had made an iron vow to determine whether this leader was worthy of coming back to the tribe and it's just obvious this guy is not meant for the tribe.
He has some kind of dark powers.
So half ran for it.
He ran and in the process of running to make his make his escape quicker.
He literally bashed down walls with his hammer to kind of like knock holes like Kool-Aid man style and eventually got out.
But not without sustaining a lot of damage bricks falling on him on his back and his his face and he came out heavily damaged.
I think your health right now is at one.
But half made it out alive and could hear the storm like right around the corner and deciding that the best thing to do was to keep running.
He went for it, but the roles did not end well for half and he basically passed out from exhaustion from surviving all of this.
So I kind of preemptively said something happens to half, but I don't think that's fair.
I think the fair thing to do is to have Allegra, you please roll a d8 and that will determine what direction the storm is moving.
If we look at our map, the storm heads north, you'll be okay.
If it heads south, you might be okay.
I think east is really your best bet.
Let's see what happens north.
True north being an eight.
Let's see.
We'll move clockwise downwards.
There we go.
One.
Northwest.
Not not good.
Northwest is not good.
So what we're going to do is I'm going to move the storm.
And I'm pretty sure this is the new position.
Now we don't see half.
Let's see if I can make this opaque.
How can I do this?
I know that it exists.
There's I think it's a past city under.
Let's see, because if I right click, I can edit.
I can.
Well, as I figure it out.
As I predicted last session.
Half wakes up and explain to me what it's like to be in the in the middle of the storm as opposed to the eye.
Right.
Yeah, the storm is.
Like I we've talked about it being loud and it has to be just deafening because the there's like iron.
Flying through the air essentially like liquid iron hitting things.
And if the things on the inside the storm are already iron that's going to make a terrible amount of racket too.
So I think it's it's and it's I'm assume I'm saying it's dark.
You know, everything's everything's just coated in liquid iron and everything's like dark.
I feel good to get like zinged by liquid bits of metal.
So I think it's just like an overwhelming sensation in every sense you can have it like the air has to taste, you know, like blood essentially.
Allegra and I'm going to ask you to endure stress.
We're going to make a move because this is just this is a lot to take in for an iron lander.
So you're going to make a suffer move when you face mental shock or despair.
You are going to suffer spirit equal to your foes rank or as appropriate to the situation.
I think it's appropriate that you'll just suffer one.
So if you open the character sheet at the very top, there's spirit plus five and just reduce it to four.
Four. OK, it makes sense. OK, yeah.
That makes sense because it's it's it's got to be just like inundation of information and waking up from being passed out.
You weren't there and then you wake up being passed out there.
It's got to be fucking terrifying. Absolutely.
And terrible.
Now, the next thing you're going to do is you're going to roll either spirit or heart, whichever is higher.
And I believe spirit is higher.
So click spirit and it should roll automatically for us.
Let's see. Let's see if it's a strong modifier, modifier, none. Right.
No modifier. No. OK.
Nice. Oh, a strong man.
Man, hopefully some of Amanda's good luck has stayed in the in the Twitch channel and is going to help you out a little bit because she was rolling nonstop strong hits.
Last set. That was ridiculous on a strong hit.
You shake it off.
OK.
If your spirit is greater than zero, which it is, you will you will suffer minus one to momentum in exchange for plus one spirit, or you can embrace the darkness and take plus one momentum.
So these are your choices.
You can either regain that spirit you just lost or you can gain momentum, which I think is currently at a three.
Not very high.
Yeah, I think I think it's more of like a stealing himself rather than a like, this is going to be fine.
So I think gaining momentum seems like the more appropriate.
Like I have to get out of here.
I know how to get out of here.
I'm going to I just have to move.
Amazing.
You are going to add plus one to your momentum.
Plus four now.
And I think that's all you're going to take.
So the plus one momentum.
OK, so half wakes up.
It's raging around him.
But he kind of he remembers in the direction that he fell and maybe if he just keeps moving in that direction, right?
Right.
Or can I actually can I see if if the like, so we've we've observed the storm enough to know the way that it moves.
If I know the way that the storm moves, can I kind of make an an educated guess as to which direction the I would be?
Because I don't know which way the storms moving anymore.
But because I know how this moves, can I can I tell?
Can I can I make like a like a like a you can either gather information or secure an advantage.
And I don't know which one is the more likely.
You search an area, ask questions or conduct an investigation.
I guess gather information makes sense.
Yeah.
OK.
OK, I want to do that.
You're going to roll plus wits.
And you don't have any modifiers that you can add your I don't think any of your assets really give you help.
Oh, can I say can I say that it because we didn't talk about char?
Yes.
Can I say that as I was passing out, I like flung char back the way in the hopes that someone would like see him and know that he was my bird.
I think it's completely realistic that char would not stick around for the store just because you're still there.
Right.
So it's he's probably, you know, on the on the inside of the eye, hoping that you'll come out or something.
Yeah.
And if they're like forecasters there, they might like notice.
Yes.
I don't know.
Yes.
That's so just click on what you're going to roll.
Yep.
Just plus wits.
Let's see.
To see what you can figure out.
Miss a miss on a miss your investigation unearths a dire threat.
Or reveals an unwelcome truth that undermines your quest.
Pay the price.
I mean, one thing that is obvious is I think that there is no way to tell from inside the storm.
Right.
Where the hell it's moving.
Sure.
You just know that you fell as you were heading in the direction that you thought was best towards the tribe.
And you're probably just going to have to keep trying to move in that direction.
But you still must pay the price.
So please roll a D 100.
Allegra.
Let's see what happens.
To old half.
Still a chance.
They can make it out.
24.
Okay.
Something of value is lost or destroyed.
Oh, no, something of value.
So I mean, I don't have anything but my, but my hammer.
Well, that's a pretty valuable thing.
Yeah.
I will allow you to either lose the hammer, which I think is more narratively interesting,
or you can choose to go minus one supply.
That the supply seems like a cop out.
I'm doing the hammer.
All right.
Yes.
How does half lose it?
I think he's like clawing his way up.
And like, it's all his shit scattered around.
And, you know, he's being pelted from all sides.
And so I, I think, and, and he's fucking concussed.
Yes.
So he's, they're not thinking clearly.
They're just kind of like, in a day's like, like the one thought that they can keep in
their head is I have to move.
I have to get to the tribe.
I have to keep going.
And so they're just grabbing what's within arms reach and throwing it on and going.
And I think the hammer probably like, you know, when you fall, sometimes things just
like spill out in front of you.
I feel like the hammer kind of like spilled out in front of them.
And then they just kind of lost sight of it, especially in the storm.
So pure adrenaline, just, just moving on instinct.
And unfortunately it slips from his grasp.
And yeah, the storm, you know, the, the, the wind and the debris is just too much.
He can't find it again.
He's just got to press on.
Now I'm going to add a little wrinkle here.
We have a vow, which was to judge the iron monger to see if they're fit to return.
And really what's left of this vow, you have about six progress on there is to get back to the tribe.
But I think we should add a threat right below the value.
See threat.
I think the threat should be the iron storm.
And what happens is, is that if the threat gets to 10 before we complete the vow, then
we're kaput.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that makes sense.
Okay.
So why don't you write down under the threat, um, getting caught in the iron storm.
The storm.
Yeah.
And I think this miss that you just did counts towards some progress.
Oh, for sure.
So let's see.
Cause I don't remember how there we go.
We have a menace track now.
Okay.
Oh, so this is, this is, I mean, this is a bad situation.
We're going to say it's a dangerous situation, but the point is, is, oh, there it goes.
Okay.
So there's one.
Okay.
Let's see.
I'm trying to think how to mark progress for this because it's quite bad.
See if it.
I just saw in chat that Eli suggested that I lose a body.
No, we're not sadistic like you.
We're just going to lose body parts yet.
Not yet.
All right.
So we're going to say that two progress is made by the storm towards.
That makes sense.
Uh, defeating you.
Okay.
So, um, it's not working.
You can't figure out how to get out of the storm.
You just started moving, right?
Do you have any other plans?
Or are we just going to start heading out?
I'm torn because part of me,
part of me wants to go back to the, to the, to the ruin because,
because he survived there.
Yes.
But also I don't want to be stuck there with him.
Exactly.
So I think.
You could.
Half it would be, I think for half the storm is less of a threat.
Than the, than the iron, the iron mongrel leader.
I mean, better to be turned to iron than to be turned into a husk, right?
Right.
So I think they're, I think they're going through this form.
You are going to face danger.
And you need to decide how you want to face this danger.
Are you rolling with speed and agility with charm and courage,
with aggressive action or forceful defense with deception,
stealth or trickery,
or with expertise, insight or observation.
I, it's definitely not harder shadow.
I don't think because there's,
there's nothing to trick or charm.
I mean, it is to, it's,
you could argue it is quite courageous to just like walk forward in the
storm and hope that you get out, but that if you did that,
you would roll plus heart.
If you did speed, agility or precision,
you'd roll plus edge.
If you did expertise, insight or observation,
you'd roll plus width.
Actually, I kind of like the idea of it being heart.
Like he has no idea where the hell he's going.
He has no idea if he's going the right direction.
He's just going because that's the only option.
Okay.
So actually I do think I want to do heart.
Okay.
I take back what I said.
Roll that plus heart.
And when you face danger,
let's look at your assets.
Cause I think sometimes when you face danger with your hammer,
you don't have that hammer.
When you face danger by bluffing, stealing,
you can't do it there.
Yeah.
I'm sorry, but it's okay.
It's all it makes sense.
Yeah.
I like it.
I play, I play heart characters anyway, usually.
So it tracks for me.
Let's see what happens.
Right.
That's awesome.
On a strong hit, you are successful.
You are going to increase your momentum plus one.
So, so.
All right.
This is progress.
But you are effectively,
you're at least five miles from the eye of the storm,
at least, you know, if you look at the map here,
I've, I've finally made the, the icon a little opaque,
but you can see that the P is kind of right on the edge there.
So we'll say it's about five miles.
So this is going to be,
I think you're going to need to undertake a journey.
And well,
I can't see the storm at all.
Let's see.
You rolled so well on the face danger that I think we can just
say that you make real progress.
So you made, yeah, you did a strong hit.
You would get through the storm.
But we have established before that.
If you're in the storm,
you could get a little bit of iron on you.
Do you want to,
you wrote, look, I will,
I will allow you to walk away from this completely clean because you.
Well, see that then what's the point of making a threat?
If we're not going to give you a little bit of a challenge here.
For sure.
Yeah.
No, I don't think he's, he's concussed.
He doesn't have his weapon.
He's in the middle of the iron.
One roll more is left.
That makes sense.
At least one.
At least one, I think.
Just, just because it's not like,
it's not an easy thing to walk through this storm.
And it's not like,
it's not just like a rainstorm.
Let's make an undertake a journey.
When you travel across hazardous or unfamiliar lands,
and this is definitely hazardous.
We'll say that it's dangerous,
but what's important right now is that you're going to roll plus
wits.
Okay.
So plus wits.
Let's see.
Got nothing there.
Just on a brain.
It's a wicket.
Wicket.
Okay.
That's good.
Wicket is still something as opposed to nothing.
So on a wicket, you reach a waypoint and mark progress,
but suffer minus one supply.
And I think that makes sense.
Like the winds howling, knocking your,
your supplies and stuff.
So you're going to go down another supply,
but you reach a waypoint,
meaning I think you breach the storm.
You, you, you breach the eye of the storm.
Right.
Or, or like,
or it's like in the distance that I can see it.
Or even it could even be like, there's a,
there's a landmark that I know we, we were like,
like it was in the middle of when I,
when I left and then as we've moved,
it's like through the storm.
So I know we're getting at least a little closer.
Yeah, absolutely.
I think it's fair to say that you could basically breach the
wall of the storm,
but we have to decide whether you come out of it with any iron
stuck on you.
I think so.
You said you don't think so.
I think so.
Okay.
Let, let's ask the Oracle.
Do you think that it's very likely,
likely, somewhat likely, unlikely?
I would like more towards unlikely just because,
well, it's been like,
it's been a few hours.
Yeah.
Like I was, I was,
I was like static and unconscious for multiple hours.
All right.
Let's say 50.
Yeah.
Let's say 50.
Okay.
Roll a D hundred.
If you roll higher than 51, the answer is yes.
Okay.
I just like the idea of like iron splattered on you.
Yep.
Yeah.
Yes.
That's kind of what I wanted.
I'm getting a special die here.
Ooh.
I have a body part die.
What?
Well, I have a,
I have a body part died that is good for when you want to roll head,
left hand, chest, left leg, stomach.
Let's find out where it lands.
My first role of the, of the campaign actually,
I've been having you guys do all of it.
Oh my God.
Full body is what I rolled.
So, oh, oh, can it, it's like splatters all over.
Like there's nothing, like it's just like everywhere.
Imagine like,
that,
yeah, yeah, yeah, like little, like just little splatters all over.
Not, not enough to like immobilize him,
not enough to make it impossible to move,
but like, yes, he definitely has splotches all over him.
Yeah.
That's interesting.
He kind of looks like, um,
like in the nineties when they had like chrome splotches on stuff,
you know what I mean?
I'm trying to.
Oh yeah.
It reminds me of.
Anyway, there's a, and it doesn't matter.
Anyway, he makes it out.
He's alive.
I think he still is badly beat up and he needs to now make it to camp.
Now, I think he would know that there's also a chance that the
forecasters are probably not that far by.
He just has to kind of decide what side of the wall to walk.
Right.
There's one last thing though.
I think is important before we do that,
which we should have done a little bit earlier.
I think that he might need to endure harm one more time to
determine if he goes deaf or not, or suffers some kind of, I mean,
you know, the last couple hours he's been in the storm.
Yeah.
At least, at least temporarily.
Yes, at least.
The only way you can actually gain a disability like deafness is
that if, if you're already at zero.
So if you're, if you go to zero and then you fail and endure harm,
then you would gain some kind of disability.
But for now, when you face physical damage, we'll, we'll skip this.
Let's just have you roll health or iron, whichever is higher.
And I think your iron is higher right now.
A little bit higher.
Yeah.
So roll that and let's see what we get.
No modifiers.
A weak hit.
Okay.
On a weak hit, you press on.
So I think it's reasonable that there's at least some heavy ringing
in your ears, you know.
Oh yeah.
But you're not sure yet whether you're completely deaf.
What does half want to do next?
What's the next step?
Um, I think.
I think half's going to look, you know, look left and right.
And if they can't immediately see a, one of the forecasters,
they're just going to start walking straight toward the center and
try to, and try to get to where they know like the highest
concentration of people is.
So would you like to gather information or would you like to
ask the Oracle if they are nearby?
Let's, let's ask the Oracle.
Okay.
How likely do you think it is that they are nearby?
Almost certain likely or 50-50.
I get 50-50.
Okay.
So roll 51 or greater for yes.
Let's see.
All right.
Yep.
Nice.
So, so explain what half comes upon.
Uh, well, we said the, the, the forecasters are like,
they're like grouped of like two or three.
So I think three or four. Yeah, for sure.
Okay.
Yeah. I think half kind of stumbles into the eye and looks left.
There's no one looks right.
I looked the wrong directions. It doesn't matter.
Uh, and sees like a group of forecasters.
Okay.
And I think, I think he's so tired and he knows, like,
they can't hear him over the storm because they're so close to the
storm.
And he's just going to like raise his hand and start waving and
like stumble their way closer.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Just like puts a hand out and collapses.
Interesting. Interesting. Okay.
So he comes upon.
Some.
Um, some forecasters.
Uh, obviously they would help him and get away and, you know,
kind of get to a safe distance,
but they'd probably only be talking to him in iron speak.
Yeah.
Um, I was actually thinking it'd be interesting if, if half being a,
uh, uh, you know, having the privilege of being able to hear,
uh, I wonder if he might not be up to snuff on his iron speak.
I think that would be interesting.
I feel like he knows like, like a few, like a, like a handful of
terms because he's, he's like seeing the forecasters, but I don't think,
I don't think he's like fluent in it.
Hmm.
I learned some iron speak today.
Uh, this kind of putting your fingers coming in close or,
uh, actually so closed.
So this is what this is what,
and then claps like this is what happened.
So I think they might ask what happened.
What happened? Yeah.
Uh, and yeah.
And then, you know, um, uh, half would explain,
no, would have just tell them exactly what happened.
Would he tell them the truth?
I don't.
Looking at, I don't think he would want to say that he ran away.
True.
I think he'd, I think that would,
that would be really uncomfortable and not something he'd want to
like readily admit to.
Would he want to tell them like the weird shit he saw,
like the, the husks and the.
I feel like yes for the like, maybe not the leader,
but definitely the husks for the sake of like the safety of the tribe.
I think they definitely be like, they'd be like, we were in,
you know, we were in this ruin and there were husks and I like,
like we got, he probably, he probably said,
like we got separated rather than like he, that he ran away.
Um, and, and I'm, I'm.
I think he'd ask after Eda and the other ironmongers to see if they
knew if they were back.
Just to see how much of like a control of the narrative.
That's interesting. That's interesting. Yeah. Yeah.
Uh, I, I, I'm glad you brought up Eda because that is a possibility
that Eda could have gotten out.
So we can ask the Oracle.
If, uh, if Eda got out, what, what are the chances we think?
I don't know. There are two husks and the creepy ironmonger leader.
So I don't think they're great odds.
Yeah. So let's say unlikely.
Yeah. So 76 or greater is a yes for Eda got out and maybe is with them.
Sure. Let's find out 23. Yeah. No, the, the,
they probably signed to you that there's all,
you're the first person they've seen come out of the storm.
Okay. Well, I mean, there's,
there's a chance that they were at a different, you know,
a different group found them or they came in a different point who'd,
like, I feel like half's trying to like,
like make themselves feel better by being like, well, there's an option.
Like they could have been here. They could have been there,
even though, even though they're like, they're probably dead.
So yeah, I mean, half is pretty beat up. He's only got one health.
Um, would he insist on getting to the tribe as soon as possible,
or would he maybe make camp and rest with the, uh, the forecasters?
I mean, that's, that's like 10 miles of, of space to cover,
to get just to like the tribe. So I think, I think at this point,
half is going to just like all out collapse and just be, be done.
Okay. For the day.
I think that makes sense. So you decide to rest with the,
um, with these forecasters. Um, sorry.
I'm just adjusting the map here. I have OCD like that. Anyway.
Um, so all right, you may camp and, you know, set the scene.
I mean, I, you guys would have to march a little bit away from the,
the storm wall and, you know, they probably inform you that the storm is
moving northwest, which is kind of bad news because the storm is still
moving north, getting closer to the, to the mountains. Um,
you're going to do a make camp role. So you are going to, let's see.
Oh, you know what? There's also an interesting thing we have to ask.
We established that half has a forecaster friend named,
uh, let's see. Hold on. Bonds.
Sunder bonds. Uh, do you want to roll to ask the Oracle to see if
wool on is here? Yeah, I want to see if we want to hear. Okay.
Roll, uh, 51 or greater is yes. So we're going to do 50, 50.
All right. All right.
All right. Now let's remember that wool on's disposition towards you is
remorseful. They are a new forecaster and they are remorseful,
possibly of the taking the job. I think we had it, uh,
a Zeke all the way back when said maybe they took the job for half or
something like that. So it might be a bittersweet reunion.
Yeah, I feel like, I feel like at this point half is, half is just happy to see
a familiar face that isn't, you know, like active, like at this moment,
actively against them. So I feel like, I feel like he's like, Oh,
by guns can be by guns for tonight. This is fine. For sure. Let's make camp.
Uh, you are going to roll plus supply, which has taken a hit this session.
We're only a plus four though. That's not too bad. Not too bad. Let's see.
Let's go. Strong hit. Nice.
Amanda's energy is still here on a strong hit. You and your allies may each
choose two. You may take plus one to health. You may suffer one supply,
but take one to health. You may take plus one to spirit plus one to momentum
or add plus one to your next undertake a journey. You could use two of those
to health. Definitely needs to get popped up. Okay. So you're going to
take a break and take plus one health. And then you said I could take
another health, but lose a supply. I could get a spirit. I can get momentum.
Or you could get a plus one on your next role to undertake a journey.
Okay. Which you will probably be doing in the morning. Right.
I don't think, I don't think spirit's going to go up right now just because
he, I think there's a lot of like weird feelings and guilt and fear and a lot
of stuff mixing up in there. So I don't think that's going to be what it is.
I think taking plus one to the next journey. Okay. All right. Cool.
So you're going to increase your health to one and then remember to add that plus one
in the modifier for the next role. You know, set the scene for me for this camp
because there's wool on. And like you said, it's very complicated for half
because very few of the, of the iron landers probably ever venture into the storm.
This is his first time. He's probably pretty shaken by it and he has the
scarring to prove it. You know what I mean? He has a little bit of iron left on him.
Man, I think, I think he's going to like take comfort in the fact that he has
someone familiar close by and be like, like, like sit down and talk to him.
Maybe for a little bit. I think he might even start to explain what the storm was
like, but then kind of get overwhelmed by it and clam up again and just go to,
but I think he's so fucking tired that he like, he tries to talk about it a little
bit and like wants, I think like wants to like find that connection with wool on again.
And then is just too tired to really take it any, any further than just like,
Storm's fucked up, man. Real shitty in there. I think that, you know,
reconnecting with this bond that you have is a good chance to possibly test
your bond. This is a move when your bond is tested through conflict, betrayal,
or circumstance. This is an interesting circumstance. You would roll plus heart
and then if you do well, you would kind of gain some momentum and some spirit
and possibly strengthen the bond. And this is a bond that is on your character
sheet and can be improved. Yeah, I think, I think I'd like to do that.
Okay. So you're going to roll plus heart and let's see what you get.
All right. Rule plus heart and this doesn't count with the plus one, right?
Because that's just for take a journey. Well, yes. And it, and the move doesn't
say anything about if you already have a connection. Okay. Cool. Then just a regular
roll roll in. Here we go. Wow. Man. Okay. On a strong hit, the test has strengthened
your bond. You may choose one. You may either take plus one to your spirit or plus two
to your momentum. Hmm.
I think, I think this would actually push half spirit up. Okay. Because they were,
they were in such like a weird place and having, having like that confidence in each
and not having a confident. There it is. There's the word I was looking for has
definitely, you know, brought them back up a little bit. So your spirit is now
maxed out. And I think that there is, where was I going to go under bonds?
There is your kind of bond score. And I think it's worthy this, this kind of
success of winning Wulan back over, you know, they've seen you go into the storm.
You've proven that you're not just some wimp who hangs out on the, on the inside.
I'm going to increase the bond, which is the entire block, just up one. So now
instead of three and a half, now it's just four. Nice.
But Wulan is remorseful and I'm cooler than him now. You're definitely cooler
than him, them. And we do we walk away with this where these forecasters are doing
a okay and don't need anything from you. If you gather in, if you gather information
from them, can they help you get to the tribe quicker? Or are they aware of
threats that you haven't seen? I guess what I'm saying is we should consider
fleshing out what's going on with these forecasters.
Okay. Yeah. So they, let's see.
If you want, we can roll for it.
Okay.
Quick question that I don't actually know. What happened to the stormbird? Where's
the freaking ostrich?
I think I kind of realized that we never really discussed it. I think we would
have left it back at the tribe. It's definitely safe back back. Great.
So there is a settlement trouble section or whatever, if you wanted to roll on
that and maybe come to learn something or you can gather information and maybe
the forecasters can tell you something they know, some news that they've heard.
Yeah.
Or we can just roll on an action and theme that just kind of, are there just like
random words that maybe we make a connection with?
I feel like settlement trouble kind of fits because, you know, the war monger,
not the war monger, the iron monger leader, she's not there.
True.
Like what are, like what's, what are they going to do?
All right. Roll a D100. Let's see what happens.
All right. Let's see.
91.
91.
Roll twice.
Oh, frick.
Let's see what happens.
So roll, so roll this two more times.
Yes.
Roll two D100s.
All right. So 69 and a 15.
Nice.
The 50, the 15 is a mysterious phenomenon.
I'm going to write this down in our notes.
Mysterious phenomenon.
Phenomenon.
I totally did not spell that correctly, but that's okay.
And then will the other one you said 69?
69 and.
Reckless war mongering.
Oh, shit.
So there is a mysterious phenomenon that is causing reckless war mongering
or maybe reckless war mongering is causing a mysterious phenomenon.
Okay. So, so, so, so, so.
So.
So what does that?
I'm not sure.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I haven't joined.
Half hasn't joined.
Half hasn't joined historians.
Half hasn't joined the.
No,
He's kind of really important.
The story and so I feel like that's not.
Like that's not unknown to the rest of the tribe and the fact that.
To the to the tribe in that like.
You like the ironmonger sent their leader off with this kid who's like historian leaning.
Yeah.
So that might have stirred up some.
Some bad feelings because I feel like I feel like the historians and the ironmongers are
kind of at odds constantly and the cartographers of those kids that are like, we're going to
get on a boat and go somewhere guys.
Okay.
So you're saying that there's tension back at the village because the leader has not
returned.
I would imagine that the forecasters are going to send word pretty quickly with their birds
that they have only found one survivor.
But what is the is what is the mysterious phenomenon?
We could roll for it.
Or we could.
Let's see.
We could roll either on the mystic backlash table or we can roll on just the action and
theme and just kind of give us some clue words.
I'm here for mystic backlash.
Let's go.
All right.
All right.
Oh God.
Let's see what happens.
Here we go.
You can't get away from the chaos.
Chaos crew.
Roll a D 100.
Let's see what this mysterious phenomenon is 49.
49.
Are you out of your mind?
It says you waste resources.
So something is wasting the resources of the tribe or a resource of some kind is maybe
low or what do you think the iron the iron the stormbird eats black iron.
Yeah.
So are they losing black iron because I brought this stupid fucking bird in here.
And they're like and then and some of them are like it's an omen.
It's a good omen.
It's a bad omen.
Who knows.
And so it could that could also like pump up like tensions because the fucking ostrich
is getting into all the iron.
Yeah.
Okay.
So we'll run with that.
Let's say that let's say that maybe the iron mongers are upset because it keeps eating
a lot of iron or a lot of the iron.
Now what I don't know if iron is really a resource that can be wasted out here.
I guess it could be.
If it's just getting eaten by a bird.
Yeah.
I think that's fair.
I think that's fair.
Okay.
So I guess how does that translate to have wait.
Do we get black iron from ostrich poops.
I think we decided that black iron specifically comes from people that have died and then
the storm goes over them.
I kind of hoped we could get it from the ostrich.
If you want to roll in the oracle if the oracle gives it to you I'll give it to you.
Can I.
Yeah.
So because storm birds are like mystical and like no one really ever has any and then
we suddenly have a storm bird.
So roll roll at the hundred if it's 51 or greater the storm bird poops black iron.
Damn it.
I had to try.
I had to try like because if it did poop black iron then the problem would be that everyone
is fighting over the storm bird.
Like who gets to feed it next.
Okay.
So it doesn't poop black iron.
Right.
Okay.
But it is eating the resources.
It's eating the resources.
Some people are saying we need to get rid of this damn bird.
Some people are saying we need to keep it.
Half wants to train this thing.
Right.
Okay.
So that's the mysterious phenomenon.
And would you say the reckless mongering is like people are really getting up in arms
about it.
Like people are really literally kill the bird.
Yeah.
I feel like like the tensions are like brewing kind of and and and a lot of it's coming from
do we do we get rid of this bird.
We throw it back out in the storm.
Do we kill it.
Do we keep it.
Like what's.
So basically half learns from the forecasters that this storm bird is causing a ruckus back
home and you need to get back as soon as possible if you want to keep this thing around.
Right.
Okay.
You may camp the next day comes.
You're alive.
You're feeling a little bit better.
What does half want to do next.
I want to get back to camp so I can keep my keep my giant bird.
Okay.
I think you should undertake a journey.
You're going to roll a plus wits.
Plus one because of the last roll.
Hey, I forgot about that.
So plus one.
A week.
On a week hit you reach a waypoint and mark progress but suffer minus one supply.
So you're going to go ahead and minus one to your supply.
Okay.
You come to a waypoint but this is not necessarily the tribe.
Let's roll some D hundreds to come upon a waypoint and we'll roll on the theme.
Let's do.
Roll a D hundred.
All right.
100.
An anomaly.
We should keep running to me and also roll another D hundred to determine the theme of this anomaly.
This were Delta green.
That's a bad thing.
You're going to get.
Oh my goodness.
Strategy.
An anomaly that provides some kind of strategy.
Strategy possibly meaning strategic.
Like it's something that could benefit or not benefit the tribe.
Okay.
What are you thinking?
An anomaly that in some way affects the strategy.
Okay.
So.
I'll just throw something random out there.
It could be something.
It could be something that is fabled to be able to tell what direction the storm is moving.
I don't know.
You know, like a weird magical compass or something or.
It's.
It's a, it could be like a strategic place.
Like it's some kind of forked or something like that.
Or could it, could it be like a, like a, like a, like a journal.
That was left.
By X number of people. Like maybe, maybe it's like a, like a little shack that has a journal in it.
Like you can use it in a small place.
You know, in a small box.
I think that's.
A good idea. I wonder if.
I wonder if a shack would survive being in the storm for a long time.
You know what I mean?
That's a very good point.
Like the hollowed ruin was all brick and stone and stuff like that.
Right.
And if it's like little balls of liquid iron going through,
like it doesn't look like a uniform shit. Yeah. Yeah.
Maybe some runes or some, you know, iron lander runes.
Okay. So it provides a strategy of some kind.
What do you think that strategy is?
Do you want to roll to kind of understand that better?
Yeah, let's let, let's let, let's let the dice decide.
Okay.
Roll the D 100.
We're going to roll on the action table to see what 57.
57.
Wait.
Wait.
And roll another D 100.
W E I G H T or W.
A W A I T.
Oh, oh wait.
Wait.
Okay.
Roll another D 100 to see what the theme of this is 26.
A weight barrier.
Wait.
A weight barrier.
So it could, it was kind of like you were saying it could be something
that, that tells you how to tell how the storm's moving or like predict
how the storm's moving.
Because barrier and a weight.
Sure. Sure.
How, how would it do that?
Could it, could it just have like tips, tips and tricks on how to tell the
weather?
Okay.
So what we're, what we're possibly talking about is like an old marker
left by former forecasters maybe even.
Right.
Yeah.
Or like, like the forecasters of the historians or someone.
Yeah.
And, and you know what?
If you think about it, it, it would make sense that we would maybe leave stone
tablets in worst case, like if the entire tribe was wiped out, like anyone that
survived would come upon these and could possibly relearn like things that was
lost.
Right.
They like, they leave little like, like, I like the idea of the historians
like writing it in stone and like setting it out places just for like the
future because what if.
Okay.
I think that's really cool.
I think that's totally something legit that, that would be found.
Yeah.
Okay.
So we find some tablets.
I'm going to, I'm going to put a little marker down.
I'm going to put a little T for tablets to suggest that on the outskirts are or
is I'll make that T smaller at some point, but okay.
So that's interesting.
And, and you know, give me a little bit of a description of what it looks like.
You know, is it huge?
Is it small?
I feel like it's like, it's pressed into the ground and it's a collection of
like four of them.
Like, and they just kind of stretch across and they're, you know, etched in with
stone and chisel and things.
And I feel like there are even little like splatters of iron on them or like
chunks that have been kind of like skiffed out.
And they're, you know, old and worn.
And I think you'd have to like know that they're there and be looking for them
to find them or, you know, miraculously come across them randomly.
And I like the idea that like, all the people before, all the people before
have like pulled the grass out from around it so that they're, so that it's
in a space that they're not going to get like overgrown and the roots aren't
going to take them over.
So I feel like half is probably going to do the same thing.
Yeah, for sure.
The other forecasters would too.
It's kind of tradition when you find these, you kind of clean them up, right?
Like a grave or something.
And with the await, what was it?
Await wall?
Await barrier.
Await barrier.
Maybe the advice is something like, you know, you have to be close to the
wall of the storm or, you know, maybe give some kind of description about
like, you know, stand in one place for an hour and see if it gets closer.
And I don't know, you know, some kind of advice like that.
Or like watch the way the wind shifts within it or something like that.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
That's a great, that's a great way point that we come upon and kind of maybe
make a little bit of camp and rest.
Let's make another undertake a journey.
You've succeeded twice.
So that's for progress on that.
Hold on.
I have to get back to the.
We haven't really written this down under.
Let's go to, if you go into progress, just add a new one.
Add.
Get back to the tribe.
Yeah.
Just call it get back to the tribe.
And.
Troublesome.
Really?
It's really just kind of troublesome more than anything.
So you're going to have a total of six progress right now.
Oh, I have to pick what it is.
We'll do a star.
One.
Yep.
Three.
Four.
Five.
No one needs me to count this.
Six.
Okay.
So you've succeeded twice.
Time to undertake another journey.
Let's roll it.
Let's see.
I think that's your plus your wits.
All right.
Okay.
It's a miss unless you want to burn momentum and make it a weak hit.
Let me see.
I probably should burn some.
All right.
So you burn it and you make a weak hit.
You're going to reach another way point and mark progress, but you're going to
suffer minus one to your supply.
Okay.
So I, so I take the momentum back down to two, right?
Momentum goes back to two and you're going to decrease your supply by one as well.
I'm getting low on supplies.
Yeah.
Okay.
We reach a way point now.
You have made six progress in this endeavor.
This is considered progress though.
So you can mark another three making it nine.
And if you want, you can try to roll against this.
And if you succeed, then you will make it back to the tribe without any issues.
Hmm.
Yeah, there's no reason.
There's no reason not to nine and 10 are pretty much guaranteed that you're going
to roll well.
So roll.
You're all you're going to do is going to roll 2d10s and you have to beat a nine
basically like neither of them can be any higher than nine.
Two and a five.
Are you?
Yeah.
So, so you rolled a seven, but that's two plus five, right?
So two and a five is a strong hit.
You are going to reach your destination on a strong hit.
The situation at your destination favors you.
You may either make another move right now or take plus one momentum.
Okay.
So other moves I can do right now are they could be sojourn, which is to kind
of like rally yourself back at home, make camp.
You could try to go straight to the historians and tell them what happened
and test your bond possibly.
I think I think half would go to the historians.
Okay.
All right.
So first of all, let's see.
I think that you are going to mark progress on this menace can go away
because you beat the storm.
You can mark progress on your judge, the iron monger because you came back.
So mark to progress on that one.
I don't know why I feel the need to count these.
And you made it back home.
You have an eight.
If you wanted right now, you could try to roll to fulfill this vow and
succeed on it.
Or you can go talk to the iron mongers first or the historians first if you
want.
Um, it's pretty good.
I feel like this is such an important thing though, especially with tensions
being so high.
I almost talking to the story doesn't get really change anything is it?
Well, I think what's left is now the historians are probably going to hold
the meeting with the iron mongers and they're going to have you explain what
the hell happened.
And you know, people are going to decide what to do with you and what to do
with the fact that, you know, five iron mongers are now dead and lost in the
storm.
And depending on what you tell them.
Let's find out what happens after we take a short break.
All right, we'll be right back in five minutes, guys.
All right.
All right.
All right.
All right.
All right.
All right.
All right.
All right.
All right.
All right.
All right.
All right.
And we are back.
So Allegro, last we left, there was, well, first of all, half returned to town.
Once again, I mean, last time half came back from town.
He had a storm bird and he had black iron.
Now he's literally got iron plastered to his skin.
You know, maybe half hobbling, but he made it back alone without any of the iron mongers.
There's going to be some questions, but what is half's first move once he returns to town?
I think, I think I'm actually going to try and complete this vow.
Okay.
I don't need any more information aside from what I've seen.
So I think I'm going to try and complete the vow.
I think that's fair.
So you are going to roll 2d10 and you just want at least one of them to be higher than an eight.
Let's see what you get.
I'm back.
Hold on.
It's got a relic.
My bad.
Technology, please.
I mean, I have my dice here.
If we need, if I need to roll it, I know how you love to roll in real life.
There's so many of them.
We roll in iron sworn on roll 20 for the pleasure of our viewers.
So let's try to roll these 2d10.
It's fine.
Okay.
And I'll roll a four and a two.
Okay.
A four and a two.
Still a strong hit.
So this is good.
Fulfill your vow on a strong hit.
Your quest is complete and mark experience because it was dangerous.
You are going to gain two experience.
So we're going to go from having an experience of just two to an experience of four.
Hell yeah.
Awesome.
Shit.
You've completed the vow.
What is the next move or how does he complete the vow?
I suppose he goes to the historians, huh?
Yeah, I think I think he definitely goes to the historians and tells them everything.
Oh, do we need to click fulfill on this sheet?
Yes.
Let's see what happens.
It just rolled so ignore that.
But we'll say that you can clear it.
And I'll just clear it for you.
But you know, yeah, if you go to the historians, I think they'd probably be like, oh shit,
you know, this is exactly what we were worried was going to happen.
Yeah, I think, I think bringing bringing that information back to them and bringing back,
especially, especially the information that that dude was in those ruins.
Yes.
And he didn't fucking age and he wasn't iron.
Like that's iron and you seem to have dark powers of some kind.
He could control.
Right.
Yeah, I think that's a whole bunch of information that we may not have had before that is that
is just like, yeah, there you go.
I think it's doubtless that the historians would probably not want to tell the ironmongers
this information simply because they probably just don't completely understand it.
And who knows, you know, if we pursued this kind of power, what would what would happen?
And it like, would they would they try to experiment with it?
And now I think we should increase your bigger vow, which is to gain a position of power to fix the tribes issues,
because I think the historians would really feel like they owe half one, like half really came through for them,
made sure that none of the ironmongers returned, especially the leader.
But I mean, that wasn't intentional.
It wasn't intentional.
And they want to give me that credit.
Sure.
They want to increase the progress from just that little plus to a complete tick or check mark.
The little star signifying that now we have actually made some real progress, at least we've completed one and moving
that much closer to becoming or gaining a position of power.
You know, what do you think that would look like with the historians?
I think they would probably ask him to join them in some way.
I think I think at this point, he's he's done a lot.
And he's always kind of been more of a historian, historian Lee minded, then then what grandma Vella really wanted him to be with ironmongers.
Right.
So I think, I think he's already, as a kid, been circling around them and like interested in what they're doing.
I think I don't think he's new to them.
And so I think now that he's he's given them this information and he's found this weird shit.
I think they're they're definitely like, come come over here.
We've got we can we can work together like this is going to be good for you.
So let's look at your bonds real quick because you might not have a kind of a true bond.
You have a bond with Mona, who is a member of the historians.
I wonder.
Maybe.
Well, you already have a bond with kind of the community.
I'm just thinking about like what the next step is, you know, would the historians ask something more of you or would they simply be like, rest, relax.
You know, you deserve a break.
I guess what I'm asking is what's the next step for half.
I certainly think that a meeting is due where the iron mongers hear what half said, and maybe we determine how the how the iron mongers react to this story.
I think that that's definitely something that needs to be to be done because I the historians can't keep it all because the iron mongers are just going to keep like, and being the situation essentially,
I really know what happened for sure.
And I feel like I feel like Mona is more of like a mentor to half than necessarily like a bro.
So I feel like I would be kind of leading half through what may have been happening.
So then what is the action plan that the historians come up with with half about what they're going to tell the iron mongers?
Are they going to fib a little bit?
Are they going to stretch the truth?
I feel like if they're not going to tell them about the the powers that were witnessed.
Yeah, I
Like how are they approaching this meeting with the iron mongers?
I feel like they're, oh man.
I don't think they want to tell them everything, obviously, because they're they're afraid of what the iron mongers are going to do.
I think they're going to say something along the lines of that they did find the leader, but the leader was like, oh man, I don't even think they tell them.
Don't even tell the leaders. Yeah, like why like just say that we were in the storm. We found this site, but things got crazy because the storm passed over.
Given there were three husks, the storm was passing over. We got separated. I think I think that's about it.
It makes total sense. I think that the historians would all agree and using iron speak that would say the matter is settled and they would say this is how we're going to approach the meeting with the iron mongers.
So the meeting is held that evening, I would imagine.
And I think
they would do it publicly too, like for the whole tribe, because they don't want to be like trying to, they want everyone to see how the iron mongers react.
And if it's public, the iron mongers aren't going to react as intensely maybe and maybe they'll chill out a little bit.
I think that there's two options for you. You can either face danger because if they find out you're lying, this is a dangerous game you're playing, or you can try to compel them.
Either one is appropriate and either one you can roll plus shadow, which I think is the most appropriate skill since you're kind of telling a tall tale here.
You're embellishing or not saying certain things.
Right. I almost want to say face danger because the whole kind of situation was dangerous and if the iron mongers find out, half completely fucked.
So that seems like a pretty high stakes. I don't think it's going to come from like compelling or charming or anything like that.
I think it's very much like, if you screw this up, we're all in trouble.
Yeah. Okay. You're going to roll plus shadow because you are fibbing.
I think with the historians on your back, like basically corroborating everything you say, I think it's worth giving you a plus one to that role as well.
Even though you already have a plus three to the shadow, I just think like you've got all of the cards in play to be able to pull this off.
I mean, go ahead and roll that shadow and add plus one to it.
Okay. This is maybe I shouldn't have given it to you, but it wouldn't have mattered either way. Not only did you roll a 10, which is the highest you could roll.
You also rolled doubles, which is like a critical hit.
So an opportunity arises.
Let's.
First of all, the ironmongers believe it hook line and sinker. I mean, they are devastated, you know, but we warned Edna. It was a dangerous trek.
He went in anyway.
That was pushing forward. One of us was hurt and she still kept going.
Now we have to choose a new leader amongst us and, you know, they start, they start squabbling about that. I mean, they're really kind of.
They're they're a little bit kind of desolated in terms of like, ah, shit, you know, we really made we lost big time with this.
But the opportunity, we need to figure out what that opportunity is.
We can.
Let's roll on the action and theme. So roll a D 100 to find out the theme of this opportunity.
Let's see.
72 power and roll on the roll another D 100 for the action die.
See seven strengthen.
So power strengthen.
I think it's kind of obvious, you know, the historians are.
Yeah, the historians, the cartographers, the balance of power has definitely kind of shifted where the ironmongers are not.
They've taken a blow.
Right. Like they're like everyone, they try to keep everything equal, but the ironmongers were trying to like push push their their their clout, essentially.
And so now after this, it's kind of diminished again.
And the cartographers and historians are are like bringing balance back, I think it's like like a plate and there's like three.
I think it makes total sense. Yeah, I mean, you know, the ironmongers are always kind of pushing to.
You know, build build strength, build power.
But this is an opportunity for the historians and the cartographers to wield this power. Yeah, yeah, it's it's it's 2021 in the eye of the storm.
And things are looking blue.
So.
So OK, so this is a good night for half and for the historians.
The ironmongers walk away licking their wounds, kind of figuring out how they're going to move forward.
Mm hmm.
What does have to for the rest of the evening?
Uh, get some fucking rest, get some rest.
I think you'd go home to grandma of Ella.
Yeah, I think I think it would be a little bit tense because he's he's kind of chosen, you know, where he's falling in and who he's falling in with.
Yeah, yeah, this is absolute progress in the direction that he wants to go in life.
He would be it'd be it'd be like really awkward because he wants to go this direction, but also like he wants the comfort of, you know, family and someone he knows.
So I think that that she's not going to be too hard on his ass today.
No, I think I think he's proven himself.
And I think you're right that grandma of Ella might even have a new perspective on half.
Yeah, if you wanted to we could go ahead.
Especially because he was in the storm and like she like that's a big fucking deal like she might have not have ever seen him again.
So I mean, I would say if you wanted to you could test the bond to see if her attitude towards him like just like definitely changes or we could just decide flavor wise it's it's worthy of it.
I I'm torn because I like I want to roll for it because it feels like kind of dorky to be like no it just works, but also I really want to work.
I think it should work.
I think any sensible person would see that half is not just some chump.
He's a champ and he's made it through to the end.
So and she loves so it's not like it's going to be like a hard fought thing.
Yes.
So we have we have a couple of options here, Allegra.
We can either because half is safe, we can roll up a new character, or you can decide to continue the story of half and see what's going on for the next 20 or so minutes and half's life.
What would you like to do?
I want to find my bird and I want to get a new hammer.
That's what I want to do.
I I want I want.
I totally forgot about the bird.
Okay, let's find the bird.
First of all, you can ask the Oracle whether the bird came back or not so you don't even have to make like a gather information roll.
Okay, I'll do it.
Oracle please.
And I think it's pretty likely to so because of that,
Bird knows where to go.
If you roll a 26 or greater, it's a yes.
So roll it 100.
No.
My bird.
Oh my goodness.
So the morning comes and half is expecting char to come back, but char doesn't come back.
Oh, and and he knows that he trained him to come back.
So there's got to be something wrong.
I'm so sad.
So does half swear an iron vow to find char and save him?
Yeah, I think I think so.
So he's my buddy in your little in your in your empty vow at the very top of your character sheet.
Why don't you put in find char?
Bring char back.
Whatever you want the vow to be.
Oh, man, I'm so sad.
The dice have spoken.
But now we have a cool.
Now we have a cool mission to go on.
We got to save the char.
Yeah, I mean, he might just be in the storm.
There are probably definitely feral cats inside the eye of Parker Woodley.
Oh, Parker.
No.
So Allegra, go into your character sheet, go under vow and type in.
Save char, find char.
And we need to decide how difficult this is going to be.
I dangerous is bottom of the barrel in terms of difficulty.
Yeah, I think I think it's at least it's at least formidable because the last time I saw him, it was in the storm.
And yeah, I don't I don't know.
Okay.
I think you need to change it to formidable click the formidable.
And what that means is fine by burb.
That's funny.
Every time you make progress, you're only going to gain one check, you know, one complete check mark.
Okay.
So we need to find char.
We need to save char.
What is the first move of the day you could gather information to see if anyone has seen a little burb.
You could try to sojourn or try to resupply.
Oh,
depending on the state of your health and your definitely need to resupply because my health and I are pretty shit right now.
Okay.
I'm like building up strength so I can so I can go and like be strong enough to find him.
Let's do a resupply role then and that's under adventure.
Yeah.
Okay.
When you hunt forage or scavenge, you're going to roll plus wits.
All right.
Come on, kiddo.
No modifier.
No whammy's.
Strong hit.
Nice.
On a strong hit, you bolster your resources take plus two to your supply.
Oh yeah.
So day six comes, you get up immediately and you resupply, you get some new arrows or you got to get a new hammer.
Yeah.
Yeah.
A new hammer.
Good hammer.
Get some food.
Get ready in case you have to go out into the woods for a little while and you resupply.
So with that said, we'll say, you know, about half the day passes.
It's now close to noon.
What is the next move?
Then I think I'll definitely try to gather information and anyone's seen him because I would have trained him.
I would have trained him in some particular way to go somewhere.
It like it would be irresponsible of me as a bird person not to.
Absolutely.
Roll plus wits to gather information.
Let's see what he finds.
Strong hit again.
Wow.
God, I need to check to make sure the algorithm is not broken and roll 20 on a strong.
Are you discover something?
It'll be.
Yeah.
You discover something helpful and specific.
The path you must follow or actually you must take make progress is made clear and vision what you learn and take plus two to your momentum.
So you're going to go up.
Four to four.
And, um, wait momentum from strengthening a bond.
I don't think you roll.
No, not if you have like Ramah Vella, we didn't roll for that.
All right.
Okay.
Thank you.
So I can remember.
Something very obvious is discovered something helpful, something specific, a very clear action that you must take to me.
That clear action is that nobody saw char, which means the only logical thing is that he is somehow either incapacitated or out there and unable to return.
Right.
Right.
Doesn't that make sense?
That makes sense to me.
If you want me to roll to see if anything clarifies it.
Yeah.
Let's do that.
Let's, let's try and clarify.
Let's roll.
Let's see.
So I was thinking I would even go check like on my, on my big bird.
Oh yeah.
That's true.
That's true.
Oh no.
What if the big bird ate him?
They prefer iron.
So you should be okay.
That's true.
That's true.
So we can decide on a theme or an action.
Let's roll a D 100 and see what we get.
D 100.
14.
14.
Let's look at the theme.
Duty.
D U T Y duty and roll an action.
Roll another D 100.
Let's see what it's on our action.
We don't always have to take what we get here.
Find duty.
Do we, do we look for bird droppings?
Is that what the, is that what the first task is to see if we can find some bird droppings?
Oh God.
Unbelievable.
We can ignore that completely if we wanted to, or we can spin it into gold in some way.
No, we find duty.
All right.
So I think, I think, I think that rolls into, we need to go out looking for char, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Maybe we find some bird duty.
We'll get closer to the truth.
But you need to either face danger by heading out into the wilderness or undertake a journey.
We could also approach this area as if we were delving the depths and this kind of area within the eye of the storm would, we would make progress in it as if we were in like a site like we were with the hallowed ruin.
Would you like to ask the audience what we want to do?
Yeah.
Why don't, why don't you guys decide?
Okay guys.
So we have three options that we're going to ask you to decide.
So Allegra get that poll ready.
The first option was to undertake a journey to just see if I can, you know, half can travel around and find char or face danger, you know, kind of going out alone or secure an advantage or gather information.
I think all of those are possible options.
And then what was our last one?
Oh, oh, oh, and to treat it like a, like we're delving the depths.
I think, I think delving just makes sense.
I think it would be fun to try it.
We'll save that for, for something else.
Okay, so we, so we can ignore the poll.
I think we should just delve.
Okay, cool.
Okay.
Yeah.
So the way this works is we have to choose two themes about the theme and a domain about this place.
And I think two are obvious.
One is that this is wild, wild land.
That is the theme of this area.
Right.
But this is a kind of the center is kind of a woodsy area.
There's a domain called Tanglewood that is like a forest of some kind.
So this is a wild Tanglewood.
This is a, you know, just a forest that is completely untamed.
And let's go to your character sheet.
And we're going to go to sites.
And we're actually going to add a new site because if you go scroll all the way down, we have that hallowed ruin that hallowed ruin continues to exist.
Yes.
But we're going to add a new one.
So it's a Tanglewood.
It's called a wild Tanglewood.
Wild Tanglewood.
Yes.
Right.
Wild Tanglewood.
So I'm sorry.
The theme is wild.
The domain is Tangle.
And the name we can call it whatever we want.
I mean, we could just call it the eye of the storm.
Or we could call, I mean, it's the, it's the region of work.
Search woods.
What is it?
And search woods.
Burb search woods.
This is technically the, the, the, the, the hinterlands.
We're in the hinterlands.
Technically.
So I think that's what you can call it.
Is that this is a hinterlands.
Objective find.
Burb.
Absolutely.
So theme.
We're going to select.
Wild domain.
Tanglewood.
And I think we're going to go to details.
All right.
We're going to decide how difficult this is.
And it was a formidable.
Challenge.
To find our burb.
But I'm wondering if we also make it a formidable area.
That would make sense to me.
All right.
It's a formidable area.
Let's decide some of the denizens in these hinterlands.
Okay.
We've already come across wolves.
So I think wolves are super common.
I'll write down wolves under.
Very common.
What are some other common possible denizens of this area?
Badgers.
Badgers.
We could say, you know, goats, sheep, that kind of thing.
Yeah.
I mean, technically denizens is really supposed to be about like the enemies you come upon.
But so maybe a bear.
Yeah.
We could say a bear.
Or a.
Like poison.
Or snakes.
Yeah.
We'll say poisonous snakes.
And I think for uncommon, one of them might be like giant spiders.
Yeah.
I was thinking because we're getting close to the mountains, maybe a mountain land.
Okay.
So one of them is uncommon, but around.
We don't have to completely fill the uncommons.
Something that might be rare.
Maybe something that might be rare would be a.
Eli is really pushing for goats.
Can a giant goat be one of the uncommon ones?
Yeah, absolutely.
We'll say that there's giant goats in the in the hinterlands.
That are uncommon, but they've been heard.
Rare, something rare.
Elves possibly.
Yeah, I like I like the elves as a possibility.
Someone suggested lost adventurers lost adventurers.
We have to remember that again, denizens tend to be aggressive.
So we'll say that if it is lost adventurers, they're going to be crazy or something.
Right.
Yeah.
Or like they've been in the storm for so long that they don't know what's going on.
Lost iron landers.
Yeah.
And then finally, something unforeseen.
We could look into the Delve book.
Give me one second.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I dropped it.
Could that could that be elves because elves are so like weird?
And I think that's legit.
And then we instead of them being rare, it could be like a zombie.
Yeah.
Let's find something weird.
Like, um, uh,
an end.
Yeah.
Cause I think they have like, like large giants.
We'll say something like giant, right?
We'll say giants.
Giants.
I like the idea.
Okay, cool.
So this is a wild.
Tanglewood that has kind of your usual things that you would expect from a place like this.
We're going to call it the hinterlands.
Oh, somebody just followed us.
Thanks Ian.
Ian flat.
Thanks.
Ian flat.
Yeah.
Okay.
So we've decided what to do.
We're going to go out.
Um, we're delving.
So that means the first move we need to make is we need to delve the depths.
All right.
Uh, you are going to, when you traverse an area, you are going to either, if you go with
haste, you're going to roll with edge.
If you roll with stealth or trickery, you're going to roll with shadow.
If you roll with observation, intuition or expertise, you're going to roll with wits.
What's it going to be?
I hate rolling with wits, but it makes sense because I'm looking for my bird.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You're looking for that burb duty.
I think it makes sense.
So you're going to roll plus wits.
All right.
Um, did you roll really well previously?
I believe I did.
Yeah.
Was that a, was that a gather information?
What was that last roll?
I don't remember what it was.
It was gather information because it was right before fine.
Okay.
I think because you rolled so well, I think you can use a plus one on this.
Okay.
Cool.
Wits.
You got all the information you can get from your village.
Oh, strong hit on a strong hit.
You delve deeper.
You will mark progress and find an opportunity.
So you are going to increase the progress of this site.
Okay.
By one.
Like a full one.
Like a full one.
Yep.
It'll be a little star.
And then we're going to find an opportunity, which I think is a D hundred.
Let me pull it up.
Yeah.
So when you encounter, if you're making this move as a result of a strong hit, you may
envision an opportunity instead of rolling, then choose one.
So if you want, we can roll to find an opportunity or you can just decide the
kind of opportunity we come across.
Let's roll for it.
All right.
Roll the D hundred.
I like the chaos.
20.
20.
The terrain favors you or you find a hidden path.
I think what's obvious is that you're able to make way through the forest without
it slowing you down.
Right.
There's a lot of thickets and things like that.
And you're able to kind of travel relatively easily.
Yeah.
There's space to observe and like be able to like thoroughly look and search.
So you may either take plus one momentum or gain a plus one to the next move.
I'll do a plus one to the next move.
Okay.
You have delved the depths.
You can.
I have the list here somewhere of all the things you can do.
Delve the depths.
You can reveal a danger, which I think that's only when you screw up.
You can check your gear.
You could locate your objective, but I think that's when you actually want to.
I think you're just going to continue to delve the depths.
Yeah.
That makes sense.
So again, are you rolling with your wits?
Or are you rolling with haste or stealth?
I mean, I think it has to still be wits.
I'm not trying to hide from anything.
I'm not trying to go quickly.
I'm trying to be thorough.
Roll that plus wits.
This time without the plus one is you've kind of ventured out into.
Wait, didn't I just get a plus one?
Oh, that's.
Thank you.
Yep.
Do it.
Nice.
Plus one.
And a miss.
Okay.
On a miss, you are going to reveal a danger, which means possibly one of the
denizens of this location might have gotten your scent.
Let's, however, I'm trying to find the page.
Here we go.
Reveal a danger.
You are going to roll a D hundred, please.
All right, let's do this.
Let's see.
Let's do this.
Let's see who's here to bite my ass.
Check the theme card.
All right.
I have the theme card here and I need you to roll another.
Um, roll a D hundred and we're going to ignore anything above 30.
Okay.
One more time.
81.
All right.
Okay.
22.
Weather or environmental threat.
Oh.
Weather or environmental threat.
What do you think that is?
Mmm.
Good.
If you want a little more clarification, but we have established that like weather
kind of freezes.
And maybe what you come upon is like a frozen landscape or it's raining heavily.
Yeah.
A part like a part of the, a part of the, um, the forest was getting rain when it
froze in the storm.
So that way it's, it's just like marshy now.
Yeah.
It kind of like, it gets less.
Traversible.
Yeah.
And I think like maybe a fog has kind of filled the area of making it kind of hard
to see.
Hard to see.
Um, make sense.
I think it is worth, uh, rolling a potential loss of something like either, uh, possible
facing a setback or, um, maybe just face danger.
Okay.
Let's just face danger to see if you're able to kind of continue.
Now, first of all, that was a miss.
So you didn't make progress on finding, um, Char, but that's okay.
Let's roll plus, uh, depending on how you want to use it, do you want to, uh, go through
this fog with, with edge, with heart, with iron, with shadow or with wits.
I'm going to say with heart, because like it would be easy to turn back, but I want
to find my fucking bird.
Fair enough.
Roll plus heart.
All right.
To face danger.
Strong head.
All right.
I'm a strong hit.
You are successful.
Take plus one momentum.
That's the sound of upset D.
Yeah.
You're going to take.
I wanted to make things bad.
And, um, I think that we're going to mark progress under the site.
So that's going to go to two full boxes.
Yeah.
And let's go to your, um, uh, your progress of your bird.
I think you're going to put two check marks, two complete boxes under fine char.
Nice.
Because, uh, the two previous successes should reflect that.
Cool.
What is the progress that we're making?
Do we find bird duty?
What is it?
Um, excuse me.
Yeah.
I think, I think.
Well, if you want, we can roll for it to see maybe there's something.
Yeah.
Let's roll for it.
Okay.
Cause he's, he's a hawk, right?
He's a hawk.
He is a hawk.
Okay.
Yeah.
Let's, let's just roll for it.
I, I have a thought, but I want to, I like rolling for it.
Let's, let's roll on the.
Location descriptor to kind of get an idea about what is going on in this area.
And then maybe we'll roll on the theme.
So roll a D hundred.
25.
Fertile.
Wherever we are is fertile.
So obviously the, the, the, the bird duties.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And there's a lot of trees and stuff.
I was going to say, but let's not roll a D hundred on the theme.
Um,
87.
87.
Strength.
You know what?
I just realized that the whole point of these, uh, cards is that you roll on those.
So let's roll a, um, we'll just count this 87.
On an 87.
You find a camp or an outpost.
Okay.
Maybe.
Oh, maybe there's like underneath a tree.
There are like some of his favorite little snacks or like leftovers of his favorite snacks.
Or I guess his favorite snacks are going to be like mice and shit.
But like maybe there's like leftovers of like,
maybe I know there's like a really particular way he eats.
Like he doesn't eat the tail and he doesn't eat the nose,
but he eats everything in the middle or.
This is why I love playing with other players.
Cause I was thinking of something different.
I was thinking of they come upon a literal,
like iron monger camp or something like that.
But I love this.
Like you find signs that have or that char is somewhere nearby,
but you haven't completely found them.
And for that reason,
I think this is a good place to stop as we will see next session.
If, uh, uh,
if Caleb's the only one left in the rotation,
if he can find char and what he does next with half,
but that was a really fun session like a good job.
Yeah.
Thank you.
That was so fun.
We managed to get out of the store.
Yeah.
Getting a little bit closer to the goal of becoming the next,
uh, the next politician in the tribe.
Yes.
So I mean, I don't want in real life, but right now I want it.
We also have to eventually, maybe I'll do it with Caleb.
We have to decide what the injustice is that kind of half is, is
fighting in the tribe.
We haven't really.
I'm sure Caleb has thoughts about that.
Yeah. Yeah.
I'll press them on that one.
Okay.
So that's our game.
That's our session.
Uh, Allegra.
Is there anything you want to say or plug before we end our game?
Oh goodness.
Um, well tomorrow,
Zaki and I are going to be talking about Josephine Baker on here.
As you should know,
she is a fantastic entertainer, civil rights activist and,
um, spy during world war two.
She's dope.
We're going to talk about her. Um, and then on Friday,
which we're all fucking pumped for our first episode of Ashoka,
Eli's, um,
homebrew world that she DMs for us. Uh,
we're pushing that out.
I think it into the world.
Oh, I'm so excited. I miss,
I miss playing our, our like himbo family so much.
It's going to be really hard.
Like every time we have a different person DM and they introduce a world,
it's going to be hard for us not to want to go back to it.
Back. Yeah.
All right. Cool.
Thanks.
Thank you guys for, for hanging with us.
Yeah. Thank, thank you all. Uh,
there's a lot of fun stuff in the works.
