Hello, and welcome to Iron Sworn, Eye of the Storm.
I am Sergio, your humble host, so happy to see so many viewers, and I'm so happy to have
Zakiya with me back.
How are you?
I'm good.
I'm thriving.
It's spring.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm feeling good.
It's a nice weather outside, and it has been eight sessions since you have been here.
We started with you on our first session, and you created half, and we went on many
adventures with half, and then shortly after that, we created Ela, so you are returning
to a new character in the middle of kind of her own journey.
Before we get too ahead of ourselves, though, I just wanted to say a couple things.
One of them is that we, I have never kind of stopped in our excitement of playing this
game to talk a little bit about it.
We are playing Iron Sworn, which is created by Sean Tomkin, and I am incredibly thankful
that he has done it.
I'm pretty positive it was a very independent venture.
He created it himself, published it himself.
Thankfully, it was a hit, and he created Iron Sworn Delve, which is another book that we
are using that has all the cool Delve mechanics for creating our own dungeon.
And finally, I use Loadstar, which is like a cheat sheet for all the rules of Iron Sworn.
The reason we are able to move so fast through the game is because I am looking at this guy.
So thank you to Sean Tomkin for creating this.
If you guys want to try the game out for yourself, ironswornrpg.com is where you should go, and
you can download the game for free.
You can just get the whole book for free, but I always like to support amazing content
creators, so I bought all the copies.
But the other thing I wanted to mention is that as per the request by Eric Hunter of
Twitter, he just last week became a supporter of us on Twitch, he wanted to hear the sweet
clickety-clack of dice when we play.
So I have added that feature on Roll20, so we will see the dice and we will hear the
dice.
Hopefully you like that too, Zakiya.
Oh, I love it.
Thank you so much for bringing it up.
So let's begin by having me kind of recap what happened last session.
So last session, Servant and Ila were able to climb the stone tower found in this corrupted
ice reach, and they found Katigan.
Katigan was blinded by this strange fungus, this strange corruption that seems to be taking
over this area.
But Amanda, slash Ila, had a very interesting idea, and they thought to create a ward using
their power, and then the ward kind of casting itself on the fungus that was in Katigan,
and then they attempted to pull him out, and wouldn't you know it, it succeeded.
So Katigan was cured of his fungus that was growing in him and on him, and they put the
antidote that was brought to save him from the poison that he had had long before any
of this even happened, and they escaped the village, got down off the mountain, barely
escaped the storm kind of coming up behind them, and returned to the tribe.
Ila took a couple of days to recover, and eventually kind of obsessing over her powers
and just exactly what are the scope of her powers, she decided that she had to continue
to learn more, and it just so also happened that the same mountain that had the corrupted
ice reach revealed itself again, the storm moved north, and so she went to Adon, and
Adon seemed very proud of her, and realizing that him being so hard on her all these years
was for the best, because she was gaining new ways of using her powers, so he decided
to get on a quest with her to return to that corrupted ice reach, and in the process also
revealed to her that her parents were due north as well, maybe 15, 16 miles depending.
So if the storm keeps moving north, she could get close enough to possibly save them, and
that's where we kind of last left off.
So, Zacchia, I'm going to leave you the option.
Do you want to do anything else in the village before you head off, or are you ready to just
go out with Adon and return to the mountains?
I think I'm ready to go.
I know there was a thing about depleting supplies last time, but we sort of got everything
back, right?
Yeah.
Let me pull up the map and such.
I believe if you open your character sheet, your spirits at five, so it's max, your health
is at four, and your supply is at three, which is not terrible, but if you wanted to resupply,
you could possibly do that.
Yeah, I just want to, if we could bring that supply to four before we go, I think that
should do it.
That is a smart move.
Let's see.
I forget exactly which one is appropriate, blah, blah, blah, compel, each ally, resupply.
So you're going to roll plus widths, and we will see what happens when you do that.
Nope, that was right.
Okay, plus widths.
With no modifier.
Okay.
A weak hit.
On a weak hit, take up to plus two supply, but you are going to suffer one momentum for
each.
So you can suffer up to two momentum or one momentum, but it's basically, it's a trade
off of one supply per momentum.
Well, yeah, let's definitely just do the one.
You know what, you're at nine momentum, so you just go down to seven.
So make sure to change your momentum to seven.
Now the momentum has moved to the top of the character sheet, Zakiya, that's new.
I see.
Your momentum goes to seven, but your supply goes up to five.
You're maxed out on your supply, and we'll say that takes, you know, most of the morning
to get ready for that.
You know, I have to press that we're walking, we're returning to the mountain with absolutely
no knowledge of what the hell this corruption is.
And the only person who might have an idea is Cadigan.
Is it worth, you know, going back to servant and Cadigan and asking, could you tell me
anything about this, this corruption?
Or do you think that the relationship between you and servant is maybe a little too strained
right now?
Like you literally just walked out of his tent and be like, screw you.
I wanted to kind of give him some time.
I don't want to like you turn and be like, well, what are you doing?
There's no way to get Cadigan alone because he's kind of going through it too.
I mean, if we want to make a thing of this, you could attempt to stealthily creep up to
their tent and maybe, you know, speak to them.
Oh man, that's so creepy.
Yeah, real quick, real quick.
I'm just going to stealth and ask if you could just describe your symptoms really quick.
Okay, you're going to try to secure an advantage because otherwise gather information is plus
width.
And I think here you're trying to, you're trying to do something here.
So you're going to roll plus shadow to see if you can get, oh no.
Yeah.
Doesn't miss.
Yeah.
Of course it is.
It's just this little complication.
So critical failure.
I'd like you to describe kind of what happens as you try to sneak in with some private time
with Cadigan.
It's so bad.
Okay.
So I think she, okay, so she did just leave.
She realizes that she forgot to ask and tries to maybe do that thing where you go to the
side of the tent and like lift up, there isn't much of a flap.
I still did like at Cadigan's bedside, she'd be like, okay, but like, how are you doing?
Are you okay?
What does it feel like?
What did it feel like?
She essentially gets stomped in the face because that's, that's absurd.
Not like to break her nose, but really like, shoot.
Okay.
I think what, I think what's fair is that you're going to endure harm where servants
sees you, maybe even doesn't register it's you at first and just sees somebody's face
so he just kind of attacks on instinct.
But because you are enduring harm, you are going to either roll health or iron, whichever
is higher.
Health, I think it's higher.
Yeah.
So roll health and let's see what the result is.
Okay.
Ooh.
Sorry.
Remind me one more time how that works.
So if you literally click the health box up there, you can roll with it and you'll add
no modifiers, just it's just using the plus four.
Okay.
Cool.
There we go.
Okay.
A strong hit on a strong hit.
You can choose one of these.
You can either shake it off or you can embrace the pain and take plus one momentum.
I definitely want to get as much momentum back.
We'll take that plus one.
Okay.
So your health is going to go to three and your momentum is going to go to eight.
Cool.
So you, you do walk out with a bloody nose and no better information.
Are you going to continue to try to find some advantage or are you just giving up and moving
on?
I think, I think we'll let it cool for now.
If I could find another person with, with moldy eyes, um, then I'll ask them, but otherwise.
Yeah.
And the only way to do that is to get to the mountain.
So yeah.
Thanks.
I think when you return to eight on, he actually like straight up laughs at you for returning
with a bloody nose.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
This is not the first time it's happened.
It will not be the last.
All right.
So we're setting off.
I would say that it's not difficult to get back the way you came to the mountains, but
I think we should do at least one undertaker journey to kind of set the tone for the journey.
So you are looking forward to when I remember what the hell the moves require, but you're
going to undertake a journey and, um, we're not going to set the difficulty of this journey.
I just want you to roll plus wits and you can add plus one because we are leaving from
the tribe and you have a bond with the tribe.
Okay.
We can.
It, I also, I don't know if I'm hearing the audio.
Am I, am I crazy?
Did you haven't been hearing any dice rolls, huh?
No, I can hear the, the rule 20, like, Oh, well, that's what you're meant to do.
Okay.
I just heard it on myself, but I haven't heard it, uh, with you.
So that's weird.
I'll pay attention to that next time.
Anyway, on a week hit, you reach a waypoint and mark progress, but suffer minus one supply.
So bring your supply to four.
We reach a waypoint.
Um, it doesn't have to be, well, basically we can roll for it and kind of determine what
this waypoint is.
What do you think?
Yeah, let's roll for it.
Okay.
Let me just see.
Oh, um, okay.
Go ahead.
No, sorry.
Uh, my, my mother is in the chat.
She's walking.
Okay.
So she heard it when I did it, but not when you do it.
That's weird.
Uh, it should just be enable chat avatars, enable advanced dice, enable background chat.
That doesn't make sense.
Well, I don't want to slow things down, so we'll just continue, but, uh, maybe I can
figure out as we go.
So anyway, roll a D hundred.
Okay.
Cool.
Just the one.
A 98.
Great.
Desolate.
Roll another D hundred.
Okay.
Desolate.
Roll another D hundred.
84.
A desolate hill.
So you know, what's interesting if you look at the map, um, we're kind of the, the, the,
the tribe is in the center of the map, which is kind of mountainous.
So I don't know.
Maybe we reach this area that's kind of flattened and there's just this one lone hill, a desolate
hill in the middle.
What do you think?
Yeah.
I think this is, that's the moment where it's, it's kind of too late to go back where
she can like look ahead and see what's coming and what she left behind, who gave her the
bloody nose before she left.
And it's like, whatever happens, happens.
We're going forward.
Okay.
Interesting.
I like that.
I like that.
I like that, uh, that flavor to it.
All right.
Because we didn't roll that badly, I'll say that we get the rest of the way without too
much trouble.
We find that cavern that we traverse through to get up, uh, up eventually to the stairway
that we led that stairway up to the very top.
And we come back to this corrupted ice reach.
Um, now what's interesting is that when you return to a site, there are things you can
do.
Uh, let's see, let's see, um, Delve moves.
Okay.
So what is an area?
I should have looked this up before we did this.
Find an opportunity.
As I continue, as I kind of look into that, let's just do a Delve the depth roll.
Um, when you traverse an area, uh, you're going to either, are you rolling with haste,
stealth or intuition and expertise?
How are you approaching this place?
Um, I like intuition.
I think that makes the most sense.
I think she's trying to learn as much about herself as possible.
So she's looking with her magic eyes in a way.
I see.
I see.
I see.
I see.
I see.
I see.
I see.
I see.
I see.
I see.
I see.
I see.
I see.
Let's roll plus widths.
Uh, okay.
Real quick, before you do that, I think what it is, is on your end, you might need to enable
the sound.
So if you go to my settings on the far right, got you.
Oh, yes.
Okay.
Broadcast.
Um, voice.
It should say automatically roll 3D dice and enable 3D dice.
Is that already checked for you?
Um, no, but does the option exist for you to click it?
Yes.
Got it.
Okay.
So definitely click it and that should solve the problem.
So with that said, let's roll, uh, plus widths to see how you do entering this corrupted
ice reach.
There it is.
Uh, I can hear it.
So this is technically a miss, but you can burn your momentum and make it a strong hit.
We all know how boring those strong hits are, right, Takia?
That's how I feel.
I want to hang on to my momentum.
Yeah.
That's fair.
That's fair.
Okay.
So what happens is, is that we reveal a danger, uh, you are going to roll a D hundred and
I'll tell you what the, what happens, uh, because of that an 87, uh, when you rolled
plus widths, mark progress and find an opportunity.
Wow.
So, oh no, this is a weak hit.
Nevermind.
I'm going to read the reveal a danger, uh, thing.
Here we go.
Here we go.
So on an 87, yes, a resource is diminished, broken or lost a resource is diminished, broken
or lost.
So what resource do you imagine is lost who I'm trying to think of something that would
make, uh, exposure and issue, and I can only think of shoes.
Does Elon wear shoes?
Cause I imagine losing them would be pretty bad considering we did that on the stairs
before, but also it's cold.
So maybe not.
I mean, she's a shaman.
I don't know.
I feel like she'd want her toes in the ground, you know, a connection to it, you know, whatever
it is, we could basically just mark one supply, you know, lose one supply because of this.
It's just a decision of kind of, what does it look like to lose this one supply?
If you want to say that she just loses her shoes, we could say that I kind of do.
I do want to say she loses her shoes, um, but she plays it off as trying to be a cool
shaman a hundred percent.
I meant to lose my shoes.
Yeah.
No, it's for the process.
Okay.
So our supply has dropped, uh, but we continue on.
What are we just doing?
Adele the depths.
Okay.
Um, we can, we'll say that because we did not succeed on that, we're still making our
way towards, um, the encampment, you know, that we found.
So let's roll another delve the depths.
Okay.
Oh, and I'm sorry to do that, you just have to roll either plus edge plus shadow or plus
width.
Let's do wits.
We can't, we can't on a week hit, roll on the following table, roll another D hundred
for me, please, or just roll the D hundred for me 58 and you, uh, I'm sorry, what, what,
what were we rolling with?
You said plus wits.
Okay.
So 58, uh, you can either, okay, so choose one.
You can either mark progress or you can find an opportunity and finding an opportunity
is a role in and of itself, but progress is also, we would just, uh, raise our, um, under
summary.
We would raise our vow plus two, actually no, no, no, I take that back.
We would, we would add two to our site, the stone tower, uh, we would, because it's a
dangerous, we would add two check boxes to the progress of kind of, you know, mastering
this site, seeing everything there is to see in this site.
It's a little, uh, the, the connection is a little thin at the moment, but basically
we're either going to make progress, um, kind of delving the site or we're going to find
an opportunity.
Both are positive.
Yeah.
I, I kind of feel like what I want is possible out of both outcomes.
Yes.
Yeah.
Let's, let's do find an opportunity.
Okay.
So what you will do, pull up.
Here you go.
Could you roll when you enter, uh, but she was, okay.
When you encounter a helpful situation or feature within a site, roll on the
following table, roll the D hundred, please.
Okay.
12.
The terrain favors you or you find a hidden path.
Uh, additionally, you can either gain one momentum or the next action you take has
a plus one to it.
Um, plus one for the next action.
Okay.
Keep that in mind.
Um, the terrain favors you.
What does that look like?
I think, I think losing my shoes is nothing.
I think it's all good.
I was, it was going to be a problem, but I think it's, it's all right.
Um, your toes are able to grip the rocks easier.
Oh yeah.
For sure.
Um, I also think maybe we, like the, the probability of us finding another person
maybe increases because we are, we're, I don't know, for, for being better
Rangers or something like that, if that's possible.
That's interesting.
Um, we can definitely say that you get to like where the encampment is.
You see the stone tower, you know, you're at this corrupted ice reach.
Um, and yeah, let's, let's just say for narrative reasons, you can see someone.
Uh, they are one of the iron iron, the storm deniers, but you know, they're blind.
And maybe one of them is like out wandering doing something.
They're a little isolated.
So what do you want to do?
How do you want to proceed then?
I want to, um, approach them and as calmly as possible.
I will, I want to try to like offer them food that we have or maybe yeah.
Yeah.
I think that'll be good offer them food that we have and eventually ask more
about how they became infected with this thing.
Okay.
You do remember that last session, you didn't get the, you didn't get the impression
that these people were evil, but they were certainly aggressive and a little crazy.
Even, um, the, the first blind person that you put into a ward was like babbling.
So, you know, with that in mind, you still just want to walk up to this person?
No, no, that's bad.
I mean, offering the food is kind of a good idea, but they, but who knows what
they're going to do.
I think it'll be like a, like a cheez-it's trail or something.
It won't be a lot of supplies, but maybe just a few pieces of bread just to see what happens.
Okay.
So you're going to try to eat this guy away from the village.
Yes.
Putting down Reese's pieces for him to, for him to eat.
Okay.
This is clever.
We need to, it's a different kind of role for this.
Let's say you are trying to, I guess, secure an advantage makes sense.
Right.
So let's have you, what stat do you think you're rolling with?
Uh, are you using speed, agility, charm, loyalty, aggressive action, deception, or
expertise and insight?
It's a little charm.
It's a little, were you going to say insight?
I would, I would allow insight because that makes sense.
You're, you're thinking about, oh, this person might fall for, you're, you're
setting a trap basically.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't want to hurt the dude, but I am trying to clock if he's, you know,
aggro or not.
Okay.
Roll plus wits.
I will use the plus one from an extraction.
Yes.
Strong hit.
Very nice.
Parker Woodley wonders if we're not trying to slip in some Nabisco product placement
here.
We assure you we are not, we're using, uh, uh, you know, met, uh, uh, uh, jerky and
stuff like that.
You know, there you go.
Yes.
Okay.
So let's say you successfully pull this guy away.
He's isolated enough.
What does this look like and what's next?
Okay.
Um, can I tell, uh, can I tell like, how is he eating the food?
I want to try to like vibe, get a vibe off of this guy, whether or not I can
actually talk to him.
Oh, I know what I want to come out of, let's say I'm like hiding behind a rock
or something as he's coming to the end of the trail and I'm just holding like
the last slightly bigger piece of brandless carbs just to see what he's
going to do.
Yeah.
Um, but I want to be able to talk, if not, um, try to attempt to remove it again,
remove the like fungus again.
I see, I see.
Okay.
Well, one, your ritual isn't instantaneous.
You'd have to, you know, like take a couple of seconds to do it around him,
right?
And do you want to first kind of roll his disposition or does it not really matter
at this point, are we just trying to trap this person?
I, I think we're just trying to know.
Oh yeah, let's, let's figure out what he's, what he's like, what's going on.
I think that'll dictate what I do next.
Roll a D hundred and let's just kind of see if it's helpful to the situation.
It might be a little strange, but let's see.
58.
58 desperate, which makes total sense.
That they, like they're, they're clearly eating it as if they haven't eaten in who
knows how long, as long as they've been up here.
And, you know, although they're blind, they follow the trail to you and do you
want to continue to feed them or do you want to then use your ward?
I want to give them the biggest piece of brandless carbs and then start casting the ward.
Okay.
I think you need to face danger because there's a lot that could happen if this
goes wrong.
So, uh, by facing danger, you are going to, well, what, what stat do you want to roll?
Um, I feel like this is going to start iron.
The edge, like, I feel like we're, we're trying to see whether or not this,
this guy's going to get violent.
Maybe it's going to be fast about it.
Trying to be precise about it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
So roll plus edge and let's see what we get.
Strong hit.
Okay.
On a strong hit, you are successful.
Take one momentum.
So go to nine momentum.
Yes.
And what's nice is that we'll say that your ability to use your ward is successful.
But you have to make a, a plus wits to determine exactly how strong this ward is.
So go ahead and roll plus wits and let's see what happens.
Oh, okay.
So it's a strong hit with an opportunity.
So that's a critical hit.
Um, what are we doing?
We're doing a, uh, oh yeah, the ward.
So let's go back to your assets.
Um, on a strong hit, you can choose two of the following.
Um, either when the foe crosses the boundary, you take one momentum or inflict harm or that
they are trapped in the boundary.
What do you want to do?
Um, I definitely want them to be trapped and I like, um, I like the plus one momentum in
case they try to cross it or if they successfully cross it.
Gotcha.
So what does it look like when you lay this, uh, ward down?
So it's, it's happening very quickly because of the incredibly good hits.
Every time she like gets something right, particularly, she just looks at Adon every
single time.
Um, he's probably not giving you any satisfaction.
He's like, yeah, this is what you're supposed to be doing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But she's starting to like add flair.
It's, it's a show now.
Okay.
And I think once, once it's stuck, oh, cause the only way it works is to pull them out.
Right.
Yes.
Yes.
Oh, yes.
Okay.
That works so much better.
Okay.
So once it's done, um, I don't know if that's something that, that the stranger could be
like cognizant of if it's like a feeling.
Um, but then she's going to wait till it's gone and start to like, like reach into her
bag and then back out.
We're going to try to get him to want to leave and then she's going to help him to
leave.
Okay.
So the first thing we need to do is I need you to roll a D hundred 26 or greater.
And it is likely that this person is successfully trapped within the boundary.
So 26 or greater and we're all good.
Okay.
It'd be a real waste of time if you didn't roll.
Okay.
Good.
Good.
All right.
So the, the effect takes place, uh, sure enough, he's blind and disoriented and
starts kind of walking towards you.
What did we do last time?
I think, I think that the problem is, is that he is, well, I'm sorry, you put the
ward on the fungus, not on him.
Yeah.
So he is able to cross through.
Let's just have him endure harm because if he fails that, I think instinctively he
wouldn't want to exit and you'd have to force him to exit.
Right?
Right.
So you're going to, you're going to have him endure harm and, um, it's a little,
little weird because really it's only you that should be enduring harm in terms of
doing these moves, but, um, let's say that, let's say that his iron is higher than
his health.
So you're going to roll iron and all, and you can add plus one to it.
Okay.
Cause his, his iron is probably plus two a week hit on a week hit.
You press on.
So he steps through and even more effortlessly than the last time this fungus
leaves his body and just plops to the ground.
Okay.
He plops to the ground or the fungus is on the fungus does.
I mean, it literally like escapes all of his pores and does he become normal?
Like, is he able to kind of see you and that would be great.
Yeah.
No, how much does that affect how much of his sort of like madness is a result of
being outside and like away from everyone and or a result of being like
attacked by the fungus.
It's entirely up to us.
I mean, in my head, it probably is the fungus that is like messing with his mind.
Do you want to, do you want to ask the Oracle to see if this man has become
cognitive or is he out of his mind?
Yeah, let's roll for it.
All right.
I wanted to be fine.
Yes.
So 51 or greater.
Yes, he is fine or not.
He might be crazy and he might attack or something.
All right.
The fungus disappears from him and this kind of clarity of vision suddenly
comes to him and he sees you and he sees Adon and probably breaks into tears,
you know, from realizing that he's free of this corruption.
I want to ask, oh, wait, go ahead.
No, I mean, I'm just curious as to what happens next.
Yeah.
OK, if he's completely out, I want to first offer him the rest of the
brandless carbs and ask if he's OK and how this happened.
OK, we can gather information and maybe that will help us or we can just kind
of roll on some tables and maybe some descriptive words can help us define this
unless you have a pretty good idea of what you'd like this corruption to be about.
No, I like being surprised.
OK, let's roll and find out.
Let's let's see.
Let's just see what happens if we roll on the action and theme table.
So roll a D 100.
A one scheme.
The action is scheme.
Now we'll need another D 100.
Let's see what the theme of the scheme is.
Scenery three.
A land scheme.
This is a land scheme.
OK, we have come upon some kind of realty scheme here.
Land development.
A land development scheme.
All right, you got to save us a key.
I have no idea what to do with this.
I got you. OK.
OK, now I'd like this fungus to be of magical origin.
OK, Natch.
It was it did not develop.
It was created to infect the specific mountain range, perhaps in a convoluted
effort to control the movement of the tribe within the movement of the storm.
So if we know that what's going on in the mountains is not for us,
we don't want anything to do with it, then we will go around and potentially
head where the water is because people are really excited about that or just away.
So this is it's turning into biological warfare, which is exciting.
Right. And so something created this corruption, this fungus
that is meant to trap anybody that comes here.
Yeah. Right.
OK, that all works and all makes sense.
Would this person have any knowledge of who is responsible for this?
Or I think maybe if you're well.
OK, so it can't be for the benefit of the tribe.
Maybe it's just to scare the tribe away and in which case the storm deniers,
as we call them, they could have generated it themselves and it could have just backfired.
True, true.
Yeah, this could be a weird experiment from the past or something like that.
I mean, like literally just like a biological experiment.
Do you want to gather information and maybe it might shed some light on this?
Yes. All right.
Role plus wits and let's see what you get.
What?
All right, it can either be a miss or a strong hit,
depending if you want to burn your momentum on a strong hit.
You discover something helpful, so it would kind of be asking the oracle
or just kind of coming up with it on our own on a weak hit.
There's there's some kind of complication.
I will burn a momentum on this.
OK, this feels right.
That feels right.
Reduce your momentum to two.
The path you must follow or action you must take to make progress is made clear.
Envision what you learn and take plus two momentum.
So your momentum goes up to four now.
But either we definitively decide what's going on here
and where we need to go next, or we ask the oracle about it.
My my first thought is maybe Stone Tower itself.
Maybe there's a way down Stone Tower, you know.
Yeah, I'd like, yeah, that would be cool.
If there was anything that makes sense going on, let's yeah, let's go down the tower.
OK, so let's just say that this person tells you
that the corruption originated from the Stone Tower
and you have to go down into a secret room or whatever the case is.
So it's clear what we have to do.
What's the next move?
Do we go straight to the tower?
Do we try to free others?
What do you think?
Now, there was like a there was like a negative impact
on using your magic too much last time, right?
There was like a headache.
We ruled that.
Yes, but it was kind of more of a flavor thing
than like the game calling for it.
It was like, oh, this makes sense.
Why we're enduring harm?
But it's reasonable to keep that that concern up.
Yeah, I don't want to like I don't want to I don't want to burn her out.
But I do I think it would be smart to try to heal.
At least two more people, just because one person being like,
this person magically healed me is not as strong as like a small group
of people in the village, just in case things go south.
OK, then going down the tower.
So we're either going to face danger by attempting to do this,
or we're going to try to secure another advantage and again,
try to isolate somebody.
I will say that if you if you do try to isolate somebody again,
you probably have to drop your supply again by one.
Yeah, because you're just like using all your resources to feed these people.
Yeah, that's something I don't want to spend any bread, literally.
So I will.
I will go the dangerous route.
OK, we're going to face danger.
How are you facing this danger with precision, with courage,
with aggressive action, stealth or insight?
What would you call presenting this stranger
like a human shield and walking towards that?
With not good will and intentions, not courageous.
Let's just try, I think, insight, observation.
You're using your intelligence here.
Let's roll plus wits.
OK, we can on a week hit, you succeed,
but you're going to face a troublesome cost.
You are either delayed, you are hurt,
you are dispirited or you suffer resources.
Now, if you suffer resources,
I'm going to say that that's on top of already losing resources
that you that I said you're going to have to.
Right.
So you would go to plus one supply.
That feels a little risky.
I'll take that.
I'll take that.
I think I'll have to prove that I'm not just out here wasting time
that I have things to give.
OK, so you're going to reduce your supply to one,
but we will say that you successfully, again,
using the help of this new aid or this new friend.
Let's find this friend's name.
Why don't you roll the D 100 and let's decide their name?
All right.
68 Amara.
Amara with an A or not.
With an A.
OK.
A M A R A.
So Amara is helping us
and Amara helps us pull another person away
Are you going to do again the same thing of trying to defungus them?
Mm hmm.
Yes.
Just roll me a plus width to determine how successful that that spell attempt is.
OK, that was very good.
Let me just look at your assets real quick on a strong hit.
You can choose to.
So roll me a D 100.
54 means you means, yes, likely that the foe is trapped within the boundary.
You are successfully able to extract this person.
Let's have them endure harm.
Mm hmm.
Endure harm plus one.
OK.
I'm sorry.
When you endure harm, you say that's.
Yeah, you are going to roll.
With iron.
So iron plus one.
OK.
All right.
Very good.
You're able to pull them out.
And I think because it's an opportunity, I'm just going to say using the two of them,
you successfully get a third and you now have three of these folks free of the
fungus and able to help in any way that you can.
I'm able to help in any way that you think is worth it.
What do you ask them to do?
I want.
An adventuring party.
OK, great.
Yeah.
Now I feel that at least one of them would be like we need to help the others.
You know, one of them might boast that it's worth it.
I think you would need to compel.
These folks to join you if that's what you want them to do.
So that wins.
I'll tell you one sec compel is.
Here we go.
You are trying to.
Charm pacify barter or convince you're going to roll plus heart.
That's your strongest stat on a weak hit.
They will do what you want, but they ask something in return.
I think what's obvious is they probably want you to help the entire tribe, huh?
Yeah, I also I feel like the possibility of finding an antidote is kind of strong.
So I would use that to sort of soften their hearts a little bit.
Obviously, if I find it, they could have some, but.
You're saying that as leverage is like convincing them to help.
Yeah.
Gotcha, gotcha.
Okay.
Well, they they they say, yes, obviously this is the best thing we have to get rid of the corruption in order to help everyone else.
So we will go down with you into the stone tower.
All right, you have your little posse.
You, you know, know that this corruption is emanating from the stone tower. What are you doing next?
I don't think there's anything else left. I imagine they don't have much going on. So trying to re up supplies before going in.
Maybe not.
Yeah, I would assume they're probably all starving like Amara, you know.
Yeah. Okay, so if there's nothing else to be done.
Again, one more look to aid on, I'm killing it. You should be grateful. And then we're going into the tower.
Okay, I think we are going to delve the depths. So you are going to make a role determining do you use edge shadow or wits.
Let's go in with shadow.
Okay, trying to be sneaky.
You're going to roll plus shadow. And let's see what happens.
Okay, on this, we are going to reveal a danger.
And here we go.
Reveal a danger. Please give me a D 100 roll.
Here we go. Something interesting.
You face an environmental or architectural hazard.
About these. Okay.
It's, it's, I mean, it's an old tower, right?
Yeah, who knows how old it is.
If we, okay, so if we are, are we starting from the top of the tower and no, we like there's there's a door that has been busted open by serve and last time so you're able to probably just walk right in.
Okay, cool.
Yeah.
Then I think this is a, this is, this is bad. So something bad needs to happen.
I mean, we love a false floor. That's what I'm thinking. First off, is the floor just not being supported and just dropping down, just immediately being in the depths of this place.
Yeah, I imagine that like maybe even like we're poking around for like a secret entrance, and then it just collapses and everybody falls in.
Speed run. We're here already. Yeah.
And as Elos in slow motion, you know, falls to who knows what fate. I think that's a good point to take a quick five minute break.
And we will be back. All right.
All right.
Okay, here we go.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
And we are back with our session with Zekia episode nine.
We left off in an interesting place.
Ila has discovered the trap in this building and is now falling with both Adon and the other three that are helping her.
Let's have your character endure harm because we don't know how bad this is going to be.
Maybe she lands, maybe she doesn't.
Because she's enduring harm, they are going to roll whichever stat is higher.
I think your health is higher.
So roll plus health.
Let's see what happens.
Okay.
Very good.
On a strong hit, you can choose one.
You either shake it off or you embrace the pain and take one momentum.
Take momentum.
Okay.
So you're going to have to reduce your health to two, but you're going to take plus one momentum.
Yeah.
And I can kind of see that as like you fall and maybe you do like bump and get hit a little bit, but like it ends with you kind of rolling into the space and you know, you're relatively safe.
Yeah.
And I think she's going to, even if it does do her harm in the end, she's going to play off all of her mistakes, like overplay them.
This is the finals week.
Yeah.
How likely is it that everyone else is okay?
Oh.
We need to ask the Oracle.
We need to ask the Oracle.
Adon's pretty old.
The other three aren't in the best of shape.
I think they don't keep.
Yeah.
I kind of think it's unlikely that they would all walk away unscathed.
Would you, would you agree with me?
Yeah, that's not going to be a good time.
Because, let's see, you rolled, see, you rolled really well though.
Because you rolled an opportunity, I think we will ignore, you know, somebody with a broken leg.
I think everybody manages to make it out.
Right.
Cool.
So you're all at the bottom of whatever this space is.
Do you want to roll to kind of determine what this is?
Or do you have an idea?
Where do we find ourselves?
I think.
If we're not at the absolute bottom of the tower, I think there's just a part of it.
That's mostly, I mean, used for the traditional sense of towers, like it's a storage space, but it's completely empty.
So maybe what, what helps these people not absolutely get wrecked by this fall is like a bunch of dead, like, maybe hay or something.
Like it's, it's not like the meat of this tower yet.
It's just like.
Random spread about things.
Sure.
Yeah.
There must be something obviously that leads you further.
Maybe there's a passageway or something.
Yeah.
Yeah, we want like a hallway or stairs.
Let's do stairs again.
And I would imagine like everything is covered with the fungus.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The deeper you go, it just looks, it looks like it's snowing inside.
That's how wild it is.
Because there's like spores in the air?
Oh, yeah.
Sure.
I'm from California.
I don't know what snow looks like, but I imagine that's what it looks like.
Well, snow is a little bit thicker than, I mean spores are like literally, you know, microscopic or whatever.
But I could see there being enough kind of debris in the air and whatnot.
I guess what the reason I'm asking that is that all of these people have this fungus, it must be contractable.
We need to set some kind of limit here in terms of like, you know.
How long?
Yeah.
What's keeping Ela from contracting this disease?
Hmm.
Is it a matter of, if this is like a storage tower, it could be a matter of ingesting, ingesting it.
But then it's like, I mean you're, I think it is, I think it has to like, I don't think physical contact is all it's going to take.
Maybe an open wound or something will do it.
But.
Okay, I got you.
Yes, I like that.
Yeah.
Open wound.
Okay.
I think we need to do, we need to do two things.
One is, I think we need to add a menace to your vow of testing the limits of your power.
We'll, we'll just give it to progress and the threat is contracting the fungus, right?
Yes.
And I also think we can mark progress for what you just did was what we needed to do anyway, which was to mark progress on this vow because you've used your power a couple of times.
But then there's this menace tracker that I added to.
Okay.
Okay.
So we've done what we need to do.
There was something I wanted to, something during the break I said that we needed to do first.
Oh, we need.
So, so when you, when you return to a site, you need to roll the two challenge die and take the lowest value and then you will clear that number from the progress boxes at the site and we have four progress.
So roll 2d10 and we'll take the lower number.
Okay.
A three.
So we're going to subtract three.
So basically you're just going to go down to one progress in this site.
That is to signify that, you know, we're, we're, there's something new about this place, et cetera.
Okay, cool.
We're down here.
We found a possible way to go deeper.
I assume we're going to go deeper.
Mm hmm.
Okay.
So we are going to delve the depths.
Um, roll, uh, how are we moving?
Are we moving with haste, stealth or intuition and expertise?
Let's keep going with hay.
Hmm.
Haste.
Yeah.
Let's go with a plus edge and you have a plus two to that.
So that's not bad.
Okay.
A weak hit on a weak hit.
On a weak hit.
I need you to roll a D hundred.
D.
60.
68.
Uh, okay.
You could either mark progress or find an opportunity.
Find an opportunity.
All right.
Let's do it.
That's a roll and go ahead and roll the D hundred.
Okay.
Ooh.
Sorry.
There we go.
85.
This area provides an opportunity to scavenge, forage or hunt.
You may also either take plus one momentum or a plus one to your
next role.
I don't.
I'm trying to think of what else would be good to scavenge.
Other than a sample of this.
Like fungus.
Yeah.
What?
What if we came upon a room where there was something where the
fungus wasn't growing on it.
Something that seemed to repel the fungus.
Oh, that would be good.
Okay.
Yes.
Okay.
So we're in the storehouse.
This is good because I'm okay.
So we're in the storehouse.
There's a room where the mold just doesn't.
It's not being messed with at all.
And maybe it's.
Oh, it could be a whole bunch of things.
It could be like a specific kind of animal.
Like part.
It could be a plant of some kind.
I would imagine a chemical or a, or a.
Some kind of thing.
Salt, you know what I mean?
Like something as simple as that seems to be repelling.
The fungus.
Maybe it's black iron.
Maybe you find some black iron that.
Or regular iron.
I don't know.
Iron would be good.
I'm thinking of things that like keep food.
What the, the fitness, the fantasy equivalent of pickle juice is
where I'm at right now in my brain.
That's what I make vinegar.
Isn't it just.
I mean, you, it's.
Oh man, I don't know how vinegar is actually made, but I'm.
I watched a video on how to make vinegar and everything.
I'm having trouble remembering.
When there, there's a particular process that isn't even that
difficult because, because pickling has been around forever.
Yeah.
Um,
Okay.
From fruit fermented juice.
Yeah, okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay.
So there's fruits.
Well, of course there's hella fruits in here, but also there's,
there's specifically vinegar made from these fruits that they were
working with before they got taken over.
Um,
Yeah.
Like things that have these like rotting fermented fruits have
this kind of vinegar.
And it seems to be repelling the fungus.
I think that's a great idea.
Um, how does that help us?
Like, is it now a mission of we've got to cover everything with
this juice or do we just kind of keep delving this to maybe we'll
find an opportunity to use it?
Yeah.
I think that could be the, if, if, if we are treating the fungus
is something that's alive.
Um,
Yeah.
Um,
I think there's ever a moment to fight it.
I feel like.
Eela's instinct would be to like pour some on a dagger or something
like that.
But like,
That's a great idea.
Yeah.
Or like just like a jar and just like eat it.
But either way,
I think she's thinking a jar with her.
Um,
Okay.
Yeah.
She has rocks cause she's a rock slinger.
So she's like dipping those rocks into it.
I bet eight on whatever weapon he's using.
And that's what the fungus and it, you know, kind of burns away.
So everybody's probably dipping their weapons into it.
Um,
Before we go forward, I know this is a slight deviation,
but I think we should decide what eight on's powers are.
We never really decided what ritual abilities he can do.
Right.
So, um, let's go to your assets and let's just real quick.
We'll just add an asset and we'll call it a ritual.
And do you want to randomly decide what it is?
Do you want to kind of select something from the list?
Hmm.
Hmm.
I kind of, I want to randomly select.
Oh, wait a minute.
What did you choose?
Yeah.
When you mark your hands or weapon with an intricate blood rune,
you roll plus iron on a strong hit the rune thirst for fresh blood.
One time only when you make a move to inflict harm,
reroll any die inflict plus two harm on a hit.
So it's like a vampiric kind of thing.
I think that,
I think that increases the risk if, if this fungus is,
is contracted with an open wound and this guy's whole deal is open wounds.
Hmm.
I think that's really interesting because when they discover that they
might be like, or eight on might be like, ah,
I need to be careful with when I use this.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Certainly can't use it on the fungus.
Yeah.
And having vinegar poured on your wounds is the worst.
I think that's perfect.
That's perfect.
Okay.
So that's his power.
He's a leech.
Not surprising at all.
Um, we venture deeper.
We find this room.
Uh, we, we take the opportunity from it.
It only makes sense.
We have to delve deeper.
Correct.
Yes.
So also did we decide, um, we're taking plus one momentum, right?
So our momentum should go up to nine.
Yes.
And I think that this is definitely progress.
At the site.
So we'll add two check marks for this progress.
Okay.
Cool.
So now we need to, I think just delve the depths again.
How are we moving that's.
I think now that we have our, our vinegar.
We are moving with stealth.
Okay.
Yeah.
You could also roll with intuition and expertise,
which you would roll with wits.
That's true.
What's we'll do better.
Let's do rights.
Okay.
So roll plus width.
Yeah.
There we go.
We hit a roll of the hundred, please.
98.
Okay.
Mark progress twice.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Uh, 98.
No, I'm sorry.
Mark progress.
And find an opportunity.
So we're going to increase at our site.
We're going to increase the progress to two.
And we are also going to.
Find an opportunity.
So roll another D hundred.
Got you.
96.
You encounter a denizen who might support you.
Who might support you.
Would you like to roll as to who this denizen might be?
Yeah.
Who's down here?
That's a D 100.
Well.
51 or greater.
It's a human.
Not 51 or greater.
It's something else.
Right.
So let's roll that D 100.
Yes.
Yes.
Okay.
All right.
So, uh, now it gets interesting.
So on the site, we have all of these denizens.
Um, roll a D 100.
And let's just see what happens.
Roll a D 100.
Let's just see what happens.
Roll a D 100.
Let's just see what happens.
Roll a D 100.
Let's just see what happens.
Roll a D 100.
Let's just see what happens.
And.
Let's just see what happens.
Roll a D 100.
Let's just see because we have only like one or two semi sentient things here on our list.
But let's see what happens.
We have yet to do this.
83.
Okay.
Okay.
So the 83 is the bake, the snake bear.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Good.
Okay.
Roll a circle.
Oh.
Is this thing sentient and can be helpful?
Or how is, how is a bake helpful in this situation?
I don't know.
I don't know.
Do we, do we recruit the bake with our acidic juice?
Do we, I don't know.
I mean,
Well,
Not a lot.
Maybe the bake is like being held down by the fungus and like we free it.
It is a parasite, right?
If the fungus is.
It could be, I mean, if it's like the mom,
It would have to need a much bigger host.
I don't know how big bakes are, but I imagine they're pretty big.
They're all head.
They're just like a big snake head.
Right.
Okay, cool.
I think if we find a bake in need of help.
And then we will, I think we'll free the bake and earn its allegiance.
Okay.
So we'll say that it definitely works.
You bring, you know, a weapon of some kind up too close to it.
And everywhere you cut the, the,
The fungus kind of breaks free in the, the bake,
Which is probably slightly unconscious is kind of slowly coming to conscious.
We need to face danger because who knows the temperament of this bake or what might happen.
So you're doing,
Are you moving with speed, courage, aggressive action, deception or insight?
I think insight makes the most sense.
Yeah.
Roll plus wits.
Strong fighter.
It could be a weak hit or a strong hit.
What do you want to do?
I'm going to burn momentum on this one.
We'll drop it down.
On a strong hit, reduce your momentum to two.
You're going to take plus one momentum.
So it'll actually go to three.
And you're successful in doing what you're trying to do.
So I'll say that without any issue, you're able to free the bake.
But now it's time to compel the bake.
I think to help you.
Now on the last hit, we did decide that a Denizen might support you.
So it's already in the positive.
So as long as you don't get,
we'll say as long as you don't get a miss with a complication,
we'll say that the bear pretty much or the bake is really, you know,
up to help you in some way.
So you're going to roll a compel.
And I think you're rolling plus heart.
You're going to roll plus heart.
Okay.
Yeah.
Nice.
So this is very good on a strong hit.
They'll do what you want and share what they know.
You're going to increase your momentum plus one.
If you use the next move to gather information, you can add plus one.
I don't know how to interrogate a bake.
Well, we need to, I think what needs to happen is that we need to learn
that the bake is somewhat sentient.
Like it's like a griffin or something.
Like it's not completely animalistic, but it's not completely human.
Because otherwise my only thought is that the bake doesn't attack you,
but like leads you in some direction.
Yeah.
I want it to like, I mean,
if it was trying to run away from something and got caught up, I wanted
to, yeah,
lead me deeper into a more eventful like place in the tower.
So the, the bake is smart enough to know that you are an ally.
You have helped it.
You have freed it.
It can't communicate with you,
but it knows your intentions and it starts heading deeper in to, to help you.
So it's a good thing.
Servant's not here because he probably want to kill this thing because it's,
it's what supposedly got cat again.
Yeah.
All right.
So, so we're, we're making progress.
We haven't made much progress on your vow of testing the limits of your ward.
So keep that in mind.
But I think we've already marked progress in the stone tower.
We've met a denizen.
The denizen is taking us further.
Let's, let's continue to delve the depths because we'll say that delving the depths
is adding progress to your site.
And if you're able to successfully do this site, you'll have defeated the fungus.
You know what I mean?
We'll, we'll lift the corruption, right?
I think that's fair.
Yeah.
Okay.
Cool.
So how are you rolling with edge with shadow or with wits?
I mean, I like edge.
I've got a bake now.
You, you love rolling with edge.
Yeah.
There's nothing to be quiet about.
You got a big old scary bake with you.
Roll plus edge and let's see what we get.
Strong hit.
Cool.
On a strong page, you delve deeper.
You are going to mark progress and find an opportunity.
So first thing on your site, we will increase it by two.
You now have seven progress and we're going to find an opportunity.
Roll a d hundred.
Nope.
Sorry.
Ignore that.
Okay.
That's a d 20.
There we go.
Nice.
You get the drop on a denizen.
You get the drop.
Okay.
Denizen.
I think we're close enough to possibly finishing this site that we could say we come upon the
only denizen that matters, which is the, the corruption itself.
I think so too.
Do we want, now we have listed on our denizens a tree ant sorcerer and a worm, meaning like
a dragon.
Do we want those to be the source of the corruption or do we want it to be like a creepy fungus
monster?
A tree and could be that's, that's the, that's the tree people.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think that could make sense if, if a tree and itself was like super corrupted.
I think that, that could work.
I think that's interesting.
I think it gives reason that it's underground.
Like maybe he started growing underground and, and fungus kind of corrupting a tree makes
sense that happens all the time with disease, like tree diseases and stuff.
So set the scene.
What does it look like walking into this room?
Triants aren't small.
So this has to be a pretty big space.
I think it's, it's the, it's what happens when you don't repot your plants in time.
Like the roots are everywhere and it's like, it's cold and damp.
It's, it's almost all planted at this point.
There's no other nutrients to rely on, which is why it eats people and brains.
And it's, it's kind of hard to navigate this room, but they're like crawling deeper and
deeper in.
And then they see the like the center of the tree and the roots are like the result of
its limbs and fingers like overgrowing in the space.
It can't even out.
Yeah.
I couldn't escape if it wanted to.
Um, and that's, that's sort of the setting of the scene and like the far corner of the
room is this tree and.
And what if the reason the bake brought us in here is because it's, it's babies are
in here.
Like, you know, it was going in here to save its babies or something.
Now, would they be eggs or would they be cubs?
That's a good question.
I would love.
Okay.
I shall we ask the Oracle?
Yeah.
Okay.
If you want her greater, they are cubs because cubs are cuter.
Yes.
Yes.
Little cubs with snake heads.
But here's, here's the, the realness of it.
Surge comes because it's a big snakes have nests.
The tree and roots are, are leaving this like in like a dip in sort of the chaos.
There is a small dip where these cubs are.
These snopes.
The snub comes the snubs where they're sort of chilling snaps.
Sorry.
We'll do snaps.
I imagine this like, like a big boss fight, but that's obviously pretty dangerous.
You know, we come into this room.
Is, is the tree conscious?
Is it awake?
Like, can we have a conversation with this thing?
I think we could.
I don't think coming into it, it's awake, but the way that they're sort of like charging
into this space.
Yes.
Cause we're all moving with haste.
You're right.
I mean, I have to sort of like wake it up some, but I think it's capable of having a conversation.
I think at the very least it's kind of blinded the way the, the iron landers are blinded by
the fungus, right?
But it is conscious and it kind of starts to come awake as you come in.
What is ELA going to do?
How does ELA solve this problem?
Oh man.
Oh man.
We're underground.
Ooh.
The big move would be, if you really wanted to push her power would be trying to remove
the corruption from the tree ant.
Oh Jesus.
Which would be so wild.
I'm trying to.
Wild.
The challenge is, is that the tree is like in the ground.
We'd have to compel the tree, the tree ant to like move.
To come up right.
Unless, is this, is this the bottom of the tower?
I mean, we're certainly underground and we're certainly in the farthest reaches so far.
That's cause I'm like, if, if there's a way I would like, if there's a way to replicate
the trap door, if I trap a mold on this floor and have the tree ant fall down.
Yeah.
Then it would be free, but.
All right.
So if you'd like, we can roll 51 or greater.
Okay.
I guess what I mean to say is how likely is it that there is another, you know, empty
cavern underneath here?
I would think it's unlikely to be honest, but if you want to challenge me on that you
can.
Either way, we'd have to roll the D hundred to determine.
That's.
Whether it's correct or not.
I'm not sure how I would get the floor to break.
So.
Yeah, exactly.
I mean, anything's possible if the floor is in fact another kind of like, like if it's
just another surface floor that could lead to another cavern.
And I could say maybe there are holes that reveal that to you.
It's just a matter of like rolling well and flavor wise deciding how it happens.
But I still would argue that it is unlikely that there is, well, maybe it's 50 50 that
there's another cavern underneath.
Yeah.
What do you think?
I don't know.
I feel like, I feel like it is unlikely that it's going to settle in the, in the darkest,
deepest place.
So, so let's roll a 76 or greater.
And yes, there is more caverns beneath and you might be able to use it to your advantage.
Okay.
See what you get.
35, which means no, it's solid ground.
You cannot find a way to repeat that.
So you're going to have to try something else.
Okay.
How do you, how do you kill mold?
Hmm.
Okay.
I'm going to.
I remember you have the vinegar now that I was going to say, I'm going to give it some
and see what happens.
I don't know if Trients eat, but I'm going to like dip the carbs in the vinegar and give
it to it.
Oh man.
This is getting.
Okay.
Yes.
Let's, let's have you face danger and see and kind of see what happens here because
you are, are you using courage or are you using insight?
I think aggressive action.
This might be courage.
She's not going to help.
Yeah.
Let's roll plus heart.
Cool.
Okay.
A weak hit.
You succeed, but face a troublesome cost.
Choose one.
You are delayed.
You're going to suffer momentum.
You are tired.
You are dispirited or you sacrifice resources.
Sacrifice resources.
Yes.
We can sacrifice resources.
That's going to bring your supply to zero.
Yes.
And we'll say that yes, the fungus is beginning to spread.
Um, I would say this thing is big enough that it's not enough for one role.
I think you need to either do another face danger role or you could attempt to communicate
with the tree.
Ooh.
Yeah.
I'll ask.
I want to ask it if it wants to get better.
If possible.
Okay.
Interesting.
Interesting.
Cause if not, we'll kill it right now.
It's fine.
Let's gather information.
You're going to roll plus wits.
What is happening with this?
Oh, all right.
Do you want to burn that momentum?
No.
No.
No.
No, I do not.
This is why I love playing with you guys.
That's amazing.
On a miss.
Your progress is undermined by a dramatic and costly turn of events.
You are going to pay the price.
Roll a D 100 please.
Cool.
Cool.
Good.
96.
96.
A friend, companion or ally.
Is put in harm's way.
I don't like.
I think the tree ants.
Like comes to life and you are healing it.
You are removing it, but it's disoriented.
Who knows how long it's been here.
I'd like to think you'd be cool of like one of its arms,
like breaks from all of the branches and grabs eight on.
Yes.
Yeah.
Like maybe eight on was getting too close.
This is a tree ant sorcerer.
Like there's legend to this tree ant and maybe he was getting too close.
Yeah.
I love that.
I love that.
Okay.
So it, it, it grabs him and it picks him up.
You don't know what's, what's going to happen.
We need to enter the fray.
Like we're, maybe you don't necessarily want to hurt it,
but, but bad things are happening.
Unless you have a better idea.
Do we want to enter the fray and kind of combat this?
Or do we want to continue with a different idea?
No, let's go in the fray.
Okay.
Let's go to decide the difficulty of this enemy.
We're going to go to our progress and we're going to add the tree ant
sorcerer.
Remember, you know, our goal isn't necessarily to kill this thing.
It's a very.
Yeah.
I would argue this is probably an extreme enemy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
This thing is,
yeah.
Yeah.
This thing is huge.
So it's going to be very hard to kill it,
but maybe we can get it into a position where we have some advantage over it.
Right?
Yeah.
We've decided the difficulty.
Let's, um, we're either going to roll heart.
Okay.
Shadow or wits, but you're not ambushed.
So you're not rolling plus wits.
So you're going to roll either heart or shadow.
Heart.
I don't want to be shady.
All heart with Ela.
Let's see what you get.
Yeah.
Very good.
You're going to take plus two momentum and you have the initiative.
So you get to go again.
What is the thing you want to do?
Uh, you can strike at this thing.
You can attempt to, uh, make some other kind of move.
Oh, um, I don't want to hurt it.
I do want to, I want to try and calm it down.
Okay.
So you are going to try to compel it.
I think that makes sense.
You're going to try to compel it by pacifying it.
Again, you're going to roll plus heart.
Okay.
Yes.
Another strong hit.
They'll do what you want or share what they know.
You may take plus one momentum.
Okay.
And if you gather information for the next role,
you can add plus one to it, but paint the scene.
How, how does this get resolved?
Okay.
Um, so ain't on is currently in this like tree ends arm in the air.
There's still the three people that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think that.
A la helped or ELA helped.
The bake is like in the back trying to.
Like rescue its children.
Right.
And I think he was just like in front of.
In front of the tree and.
And.
Ooh.
Oh.
Okay. Does she have, does she have any, um,
any idea of starting a fire, like a, like a torch of some kind?
Well, there's a move for that. We can, um,
we can check our equipment.
Would you like to do that?
Yes.
Um, normally I would say yes, but because we are delving,
we want to check, we're going to check our gear.
Uh, you're going to roll either.
Oh, interesting.
When you check to see if you have a specific helpful item,
you can use plus one supply.
You can roll supply, but you don't have plus one supply.
You have zero supply.
Yep.
So I will argue that you reach for your bag,
but you've already wasted or lost all your resources.
Yeah.
I mean, if you want, you could try to secure an advantage and
possibly like use rocks that are in here to try to spark a fire or
something.
Yeah.
I want to try to light a fire and I'm going to pull out whatever
I want to do.
I want to have a reflective like a whatever dagger or something that
I have.
Okay. And I want to.
Um,
I want to remind it of sunshine. I don't want to burn it.
I just want to create something bright enough and like shine it.
To like replicate the sun. Cause it's been underground.
It has water. Lord knows, but it doesn't have sun.
Yeah.
And I think that could be like a.
Remember where you came from?
That's very interesting.
Yeah.
So you're kind of making sparks with the stone and your blade.
And this is a strong hit.
So it's, it successfully kind of notices you.
It puts aid on down in a kind of stupor and is like staring at
these sparks of light that you're creating.
Cool.
We're at a point where I'd say you've kind of pacified it.
Do we just kind of want to say that the rest of the group kind of
successfully gets rid of this, this, this disease, this fungus.
Yeah.
I think once it's not trying to kill anybody, I think we start
just implementing as much vinegar as we can on this guy.
Uh-huh.
Why don't we gather information since you already have a plus one
to it from the last roll and let's see, let's see what it tells you.
Maybe once you free it, it tells you something that explains what happened.
Cool.
So you're going to roll.
Let's say you're going to roll.
Probably with insight and observation, you're, well, wait, wait,
wait, I'm sorry.
You're going to roll plus wits.
Okay.
The other information is just wits.
And plus one.
And plus one.
Yep.
Nice.
Strong hit.
You discover something helpful and specific, the path you must follow
or action you must take is made clear, envision what you learn.
Now, um, you're going to add plus two to your momentum.
So you go to 10, you're at max momentum.
Uh, additionally, the site progress we're going to go up to.
So you now have nine progress out of 10.
And this tree tells you what happened to it.
What do you think happened to this tree?
We can always roll for it.
Yeah, let's roll for it.
I have no idea what trees want.
Let's, uh, roll the D hundred.
Let's roll in the action table.
Maybe there's an action 97 depart.
So this tree and maybe departed somewhere.
Roll another D hundred to find out the theme.
72 depart power or a power departed.
What do you think the story is that this tree and it tells us.
Oh man.
Departed from power.
Yep.
I think.
Oh yeah, I think they are on a quest to do the opposite of what
ELA wants to do.
I think while ELA wants to push her power and see how much she can
gather from it.
I think this, this triant has lived a very long time.
And it's perhaps witnessed.
Too much. Maybe like they just came out of something that was.
Way too powerful. Maybe just like a show of abusing magic.
And they wanted to lay low in laying low.
They kind of got stuck.
Yeah. And maybe, maybe what it is is that they had,
they discovered they had this fungus and they thought,
let me like bury myself, let me lay low and not realizing that
it would affect everything that, you know,
that it would spread out past him.
Right.
Uh huh. Okay. Okay.
So.
He tells you this story.
Thanks you, obviously thanks you for kind of freeing him of it.
And you can, I would imagine, let's roll now to see if you can.
It's, I guess, complete the, the, the traversing of this,
of this site.
Um, let's see.
We haven't done this yet.
So let's see what the proper move is here.
It's not check your year.
It's not, it's well, escaping the depths.
Locate your objective. Locate your objective.
So, uh, you're going to roll 2d10 and at least one of them can't be above a nine 2d10.
And let's see how you do against this.
A four and eight. That is a strong hit.
We are going to say that you fulfill the delving of this site.
Uh, so, you know, once you have kind of freed the triant of his corruption,
you can see the corruption along the walls like slowly drying up and you know that the,
the tribe above is going to be okay.
Cool.
Uh, this is great.
I don't know how much experience you get because of this.
Um, but we'll, we'll decide that next time.
I don't know what this gives you, but you probably do gain experience.
Um, uh, on a strong hit, uh, you can make another move and add plus one or take plus one momentum.
Do we want to add plus one to the next move or plus one to momentum?
You're already well.
Yes.
Yeah.
Okay.
It says like there's a, there's a max for my momentum.
I don't know where that came from.
Yes.
You're.
Why is that?
You don't have a, uh, let's reset.
That's really weird.
Why is your max nine?
Yeah.
You don't have a, uh, let's see.
I don't think you have a, any kind of debility.
Ah, yeah.
You, oh, because you're at zero supply, you are, you have the condition of unprepared.
So now your, your, your momentum is at its max.
That makes sense.
So really the only thing worth taking is that plus one to the next move.
Yeah.
And I think unless you have something immediately in mind that maybe we leave that plus one
for the next player.
Yeah.
Right.
So we're at an interesting place.
Um, I think Adon would definitely like nudge Elan and be like, this is an opportunity
to talk to this tree and sorcerer that, you know, they're very powerful and wise, you
know.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
And whatever.
Go ahead.
Oh no, I was going to say, do we, do we leave the conversation for the next, the next time
to, or do we just, uh, unless you have a bright idea about kind of the direction to take this
conversation, um, maybe we leave it for the next player.
Yeah.
I think so.
The good news is, is that you have freed this area of the corruption.
It's no longer a corrupted ice reach.
The people above are going to have something to say about it.
Maybe they've got something interesting to say.
Next session, maybe the triant will give Elan something interesting to say, but we'll find
out.
Uh, Zacchia, great job.
This was a great session.
Yeah.
Thank you.
This is awesome.
Yeah.
So as our final move, let's have you roll a, uh, D four, because there's four players
who have not gone yet.
Right.
Caleb and, uh, Aaron and, uh, Eli.
Eli.
Yeah.
So roll a D four.
We'll ignore the four.
Okay.
Two.
I said Aaron, so that's going to be Aaron next time.
All right.
Good luck.
Next session.
Aaron will join us to see what comes of all that we have done.
Uh, excellent job, Zacchia.
I had so much fun running this with you.
I hope you had some fun too.
Tons.
The mole killer.
Anything, anything you want to say or do or plug before we end our session today.
Um, nothing specific.
Obviously, um, Shoka episodes are dropping every week.
Um, that's pretty much, that's what we've got.
I mean, we have sheep farm, uh, heroes.
You should know this amazing show, Iron Sworn, other than that folks.
Thank you for tuning in.
Yeah.
Thanks guys.
Uh, it's been a lot of fun.
Thank you everyone for contributing and commenting.
Uh, remember that we do have a Patreon, uh, subscribing to our Twitch also
helps, uh, because it helps make Twitch aware that we exist and that we have
an audience helps us grow.
So any way that you can support us is amazing.
Uh, we're loving creating this content and we still have more, uh, stuff
planned and in the work.
So, uh, until next time, we will see you and have a great rest of your day or
evening.
Bye.
Bye.
