All right. Okay, so I've been surrounded by people this entire time and having an emotional reaction to things is not allowed,
Starting point is 00:04:06 but I'm alone for like five minutes before we leave. So here we go, it's time for a mental health, stream of consciousness, so this out of my brain and out of my mouth that I can just focus on doing really cool ghost shit. Oh, okay. Adder's dead. I don't know if I'm feeling how I'm supposed to feel about it. I don't even know how to describe the feeling.
Starting point is 00:04:33 It's not sad. I mean, at least not entirely. I think it's missing what he could have been. Like, I'm mourning a future I was never gonna get anyway. So that's a really fun background emotion to have while shit is hitting the international fan. Orfius is gone. Kate is missing.
Starting point is 00:04:58 We're pretty sure the fucking government isn't on it because Taylor on Squid also got torched, but who was spared? Oh, just the militant dipshit's over at next world. Cross turned on Levinio that they're there's doppelgangers and Jason's and Fetchy's and I- I just want to go back to sleep. Oh speaking of which, where a ghost down, Mia can't sleep with a capital S so she's stuck in the meat sack. I mean, there's always like drugs and ice baths and shit, but baby does that feel dangerous. Especially when not a single one of us is any kind of scientist.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Although it's Koa's connections, we might be able to find one. I mean, we already owe Madame Batu, probably our entire asses. Koa's hot sugar mommy gave us a place to rest and a fucking suitcase of $10,000, like it was just nothing. Like, ma'am, at a car and a townhouse and fucking Aspen, I mean, who the fuck is this woman? And how does Koa know her and why is she protecting us?
Starting point is 00:06:00 And why is her weed so good? I found out Kullock can't make eggs. Gotta sit your more than eggs, but damn, what a non-existent base to start from. I mean, I did, I did like being able to cook for everyone, it felt kind of... homie. Something I didn't like fuck up or fail, finally. Nice picture pace for like five minutes, you know? I heard Vint and calls room last night and I, you know, I knew they slept together.
Starting point is 00:06:34 I mean, Collette told me. Not that it's any of my business. But I thought it was just like a one-time thing, you know, I guess, but I mean, the world is kind of ending. The world's kind of ending, and maybe the FBI is gonna arrest me and my uncle's dead, and everything that gave me purpose after I got fired has literally been brought tumbling down, and... Nope, no, no, there's no and. That's the important stuff.
Starting point is 00:07:00 So I'm gonna give Cole some space to figure all of that out. Plus, Livinia, because, because that's a lot, and they need space to do that. And like, three ghosts involved in anything is a lot. And not that I'm even involved. I don't know what I'm saying. I, God, I just, I sound ridiculous. Like, if I really care about Collette, I should just be happy.
Starting point is 00:07:26 If she's finding someone to connect with, it makes her feel safe. And she's bad, so... So now we are all apart. Ben's hitting the books. Mia is going to see her majesty, gross, and Collette's going to go see Agent Hall from the DEA, even though she is literally wanted by the US government. Although there's probably no one better to have than Viv with her, so that's good. Cohen and I are going to make a run at Orpheus, so I can battery pack her while she for bodes.
Starting point is 00:08:01 And you're going to watch her back around whatever's gobbling orpheus right now. This is how we're going to find Kate. All of this is how we're going to start finding a way forward. I mean, shit might be bad, but the team, the team feels strong. We can do this. Amazing. As always, thank you so much. So, without further ado, let's jump back into it. We're going to pick up with Koa and Logan, heading to Orrifius headquarters in Aurora. What is the plan? What are we doing?
Starting point is 00:08:55 Um, I think we're at least going to park a few blocks away and probably walk our way towards Orrifius building. Yeah, probably staying further away. It's a bad idea if my body's just going to be out in the backseat. Yeah,. Yeah, so that's a question. Are you zeroing out in the back seat, in the trunk, what's your plan? I think the most logical thing for Logan is to crawl into the back and just like put a blanket over their head to kind of mask that it's a person back there. I think I'm just going to leave a little opening by their mouth, keep the keys in their hand.
Starting point is 00:09:32 Let's do this. I'm assuming do you all I do kind of like a dry buy of the scene before you decide on your approach? Sure, yeah. Okay. Quietly, I don't know. your approach? Sure, yeah. Okay. Quietly. I don't know. Regardless, the first scene, you know, is that the the the outer perimeter for what is now one of the largest crime scenes in the country, uh, goes out a few blocks. Uh, this is a very large scene at this point. a few blocks. This is a very large scene at this point. Pretty much the immediate perimeter around the now ruined that was one Swerfius headquarters out to a couple intersections. So it is the
Starting point is 00:10:16 outer perimeter is manned by local cops and then you can see the bureau, you can see the ATF, you can see all sorts of federal agencies and honestly both county, city, police departments as well as police from neighboring counties and towns all kind of gathered to help begin processing this scene. You see you know crime scene technicians and their full get up with the white, you know, Tyvex coveralls and the boots and the masks going, you know, digging through the rubble, it's obvious at this point one of the first things they're doing
Starting point is 00:10:52 is looking for survivors, there's cadaver dogs, there's canine antlers looking for bodies, it's grim. It is a grim sight, there's still smoke, there's black, smoke kind of issuing from the rubble at this point. So you park as far away as you can manage and then log in with that in mind you you zero out and you and coa begin your approach. What's the so we're just walking up. But then, if I remember correctly, we had mentioned that it would be nice to get a nice vantage point.
Starting point is 00:11:32 So maybe you could find a tall building or something. Yeah. Anywhere that I can get in close enough proximity to use for vote, because I know I need to be somewhat close to the area. Are there any like office buildings or anything on either side? Let's take a look. Let me look that up for you. Like a parking garage or something maybe? Cause I know we had an orpious parking garage when I'm sure that's buried under everything. We did, yep. So that was part of the campus and so that was kind of, I did misspeak, we are in Arvada, Colorado, not Aurora, Aurora is kind of more on the north, eastern side of Denver. So kind of immediately where you are right across the way, there's like the downside is that this is still kind of an
Starting point is 00:12:19 end development area of the city, and so you've got like a Wendy's, you've got a market, a supermarket, you've got a tire center, there's a school, so you can, I mean, it's not necessarily high up, you could probably get on the roof one of the neighboring buildings and kind of look down in the city. Okay, and yeah, that's probably the safer thing to do is not be directly on the building, but if we can do it nearby. Easy enough. Yeah, so being ethereal at this point in Corporeal, you're more than able to kind of pass through and up to the roof. And you are now looking down at this, this, for lack of a better term, a poca-liptic sight. Yeah. Can I use dead eyes to see if I see anyone around?
Starting point is 00:13:11 Yeah, absolutely, Kim. Looking around, you don't notice anyone that isn't living of present company excluded, of course. It's really just you all. Okay. What do you need for me? I can... I'll just kind of watch your back, I guess.
Starting point is 00:13:33 Leave for Vogue and... That's part of it. I will need some vitality, though, because I need to just have enough to give and then have a little extra in case we attract anything because this vitality expenditure comes with people looking. Yeah, I know. Can I before we get any started?
Starting point is 00:13:56 Can I just look at Logan for five seconds and just get a general vibe check on how Logan's doing? Yeah, I'm in love with them since everything has happened. A five check, sure. Let's see what we can roll here. Definitely empathy is going to be part of it. So let's do perception plus empathy. Are you trying to mask anything they're Logan? Logan's trying to seem completely normal and in control and is trying not to seem like they're absolutely losing their shit. Awesome, so in your case, let's go ahead and do manipulation.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Plus, let's all to do empathy. We just have to start adding vibe checks to all of our games. Yeah, always going to be a vibe check. That's three successes. Three successes, OK? I had three successes, but one of them got taken away by a one, so I have two. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:54 OK. What is Coa's see there, Logan? Coa probably sees some bags under Logan's eyes. They're looking a little, they're a little bruised, there's kind of like some like sizable bruise kind of forming on their forearm from when they snapped back into their body earlier. Their eyes are a little red but like they also smoked some of my embattu was really good weed so like maybe that's why not before left, but at some point it happened.
Starting point is 00:15:28 Yeah, that's probably what you tell Logan's, Logan's trying to keep their face pretty neutral, but looking down on the, on the, like destruction site is probably, they're probably not keeping it up as well as they hoped they were. Cool. I think I'll just hold out my hands to Logan. Yeah. How much do you need?
Starting point is 00:16:01 Passion. All of it. I'm just going to be happy. I'm going sure. All of it. I'm just wondering what I'm doing. I'm here. Also, um, so this one, how much vitality are you going to be for what we need to accomplish for this?
Starting point is 00:16:20 Ah, okay. So that's entirely up to you. I will say And I believe that at the exchange is One by Talieby for a set up amount of time Right, yeah, yeah, yep. So for you how far back are what's what's the kind of what's the vibe that you're that you're looking to get here with your forebode? Well, I definitely... It's been like 48 hours, right? So it hasn't been a long time.
Starting point is 00:16:52 Yeah, but like, this was something that was just planned in a day. Yeah, it's an execute. This was an execute. It was an execute whom I don't even think a week. Hardly wants to go back a whole year. I'm not against that actually because Something has some of the stuff things been going on while we've been just going out our own shenanigans Adderne that we can kind of try to spot or something maybe maybe this one I'm hoping I would say what yeah
Starting point is 00:17:24 What's gonna happen is you're unfortunately going to be limited to that area. So it'll be a year in either direction limited to that area if you spent up to four vitality. If you did two vitality, that would cover up to one week. So you'd be able to cover immediately before the attack, immediately after. You'd be able to cover that immediate piece of it.
Starting point is 00:17:47 Okay. I'm pretty good on vitality. So go however much you want to go. And then I can give you several if you need. We'll be doing for it some month. So that could be anything that's leading up until this point. So I'll do the split the difference, do a more vitality. Yeah. Okay. So that'll be actually three. So three is for a month,
Starting point is 00:18:12 four is for a year. So three vitality and then the number of successes you're going to want to go for, probably you're going to want to aim for either four to five successes. I mean, I know that I can, if I see somebody, I can do something. So I feel like everybody's got some way of sharing abilities or giving. Logan's, Logan's whale can give me a wider yeah that's really the possibility of effect yeah. So for one vitality you can double the range area of effect. Yep. I'll for sure amplify. Okay. I'll say you know what I'll do this. I'm going to house full list. For every vitality, you expend that adds a success. Oh, shit. Okay. How many do you need again? I mean, I want to get five. I'm gonna get five successes as my goals. Okay, do we have to do we have to roll after I see how many I spent or before? Oh, go ahead, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:19:27 Well, I have a hide pool, so if you want to just give me a couple extra just to make sure that we succeed that pool. I'll like to. Okay, that works. Yeah, perception plus empathy. Yeah. Kitty-Kill. Hello. Hello, Ed.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Maybe something. That's a big old pool. Big old pool is my baby. Where's Lewis? He's out of the room. Okay, I got four successes. And then plus my two from Vitality's meant. All right. Yeah, that's six. Okay. And I'm also going to give Koea another vitality so that she's up three more. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Beautiful. Okay. So the first thing you notice Koea about this is that whatever has transpired here at Orpheus Headquarters is very much like an emotional and psychic black hole. You and your perception are essentially sucked in and confined to the immediate future, sraring this event simply because of the amount of pure, unadulterated evil that has occurred here and that has unfortunately tainted the ground here and the events here. And it's almost like this impossible gravitational pull that is keeping you rooted to this spot.
Starting point is 00:21:15 And you are back to two nights ago and you're seeing various staffers, people you know, people you you've seen in passing, but maybe not having necessarily met, begin to arrive for the Thanksgiving party, for the annual Thanksgiving party here at the headquarters. Where are we looking? What are we looking for? It's almost like a tape, you know, and only you actually like even move around if you want to. I'm I'm looking for cross. I'm looking for notable people that aren't from Orpheus and I'm definitely looking for Kate because I need to know what happened to Kate during these events. As well as any other people who might have survived and confirming anybody for sure being dead. who might have survived and confirming anybody for sure being dead.
Starting point is 00:22:07 Okay. The main goals for right now. Do you know the party begins at roughly 730 and you're able to tell that by, you know, getting them close to people who are there or were there, seeing the times on their watches, seeing the clocks on the walls. It's all very sharp. It's almost like a lucid dream in a lot of ways. When you're alive, the closest analogy you can probably compare to is lucid dreaming, where you have some form of control over your placement inside this vision. And the first thing you become aware of is that there is someone inhabiting the building. You don't know who, but at least two people, are inside the Orpheus headquarters building.
Starting point is 00:22:53 You see people that you knew, Rob Lergent, the facility manager, you see Tyler Ford, the head of security, you see Jerome Leruce, but they're wearing suicide alertness or whit's plus empathy. Two successes. Actually, no, I'm sorry. Three successes. It's tough to tell with some of the others, but you know for a fact that looking at Jerome, it's as if his entire personality has changed and he is someone completely different and you know immediately that he's being skin-ridden and that someone is controlling him and like we control the others as well. You see them armed, and you see Sylvia Margolis, one of the members of the security team, walk into the security room and kill the staff there,
Starting point is 00:24:16 opening fire on them while they're seated, and then you see the attack on the recreation hall. You see horrors unleashed to devastating effect. On everyone gathered, you hear screaming, you see running, you see the facility locked down, possibly by the people possessing the building, fire doors being closed and locked, no one being able to escape. You see two individuals that you don't recognize. Definitely a military from the looks of it, or former military.
Starting point is 00:24:51 Wiring the load bearing structures in the nursery and sub-basement three with explosives. You see the attack growing more and more horrible as time goes on until finally you see the swarm descending on the site like a black cloud 20 specters arrive and begin reaping the souls of the dead, killing the living. Any sort of rational response that could have been formed in this time is now over. There is no organized resistance. There's simply fleeting attempts at survival. People trying to escape and finding themselves pushed into the waiting arms of a specter. Sometimes multiple specters or into the kill zone of
Starting point is 00:25:33 a booby trap left by these mercenaries. By the time nine o'clock rolls around, these next-world mercenaries are making their way through the facility. Some are possessing bodies, others are using what looks like storm-wending to teleport anywhere in the compound they need to go. Finally, the building goes up. It appears as if those who are possessing the bodies of those wearing the suicide vests,
Starting point is 00:26:00 that the vests themselves were triggered to detonate as soon as those spirits departed those forms. And when those vests went, so did the explosives, throughout the rest of the facility. But then by just before 930, it appears all of Next World has left has left and Law Enforcement has begun to respond. You see the initial response, you see them trying to coordinate off, figure out what has been happening, FBI responding. But at 2.30 in the morning, there's another group that arrives, and they're not living. They're at least not in any sort of corporeal form, but they enter the ruins of Orpheus.
Starting point is 00:26:55 And if you follow them, you see that they go into the data vault. And they use a horror that looks like which is an imbist to fry all of the data there to slag. And very quickly, they're gone. They didn't take the data. They destroyed the data. Data destroyed the data. I would take the data first. You're the government. You don't need to take anyone else's data. You've already taken it. They're only there for maybe a half hour. They're gone before three. And then the building is exploded after that or before it's already happened. Yeah. So they were able to essentially pass through the rubble into some of the parts of the building they were still relatively intact and ensure that from what you can tell the job was done.
Starting point is 00:27:53 But they're not a next world. They look... they don't look the same as the next world group, but they're still something to them. Some kind of paramilitary or military affiliation maybe. No survivors. None that you could tell. But if you're looking specifically for Kate, you do recall in the chaos,
Starting point is 00:28:24 Kate organizing some form of resistance before it looks like she made it out of the building. Jesser or others, small group of others. Then whoever else may have been on assignment at the time, maybe survived, but you do remember hearing yesterday that there were some cursables that were killed in the field. Do I know the direction in which Kate might have gone at the very least? You try to pull back, and it's as if something black and dark, and with just this incredible gravitational pull
Starting point is 00:29:06 is keeping you rooted to that spot and you can't follow. It's as if you are being made to bear witness to what has taken place here. And it is awful. And it is awful. Can I move a couple days ahead? Yeah. Anybody comes next before, you know, even now.
Starting point is 00:29:38 Yeah. So you would see this, this group of the second group, this mysterious second group that destroyed the data. They came and went under the nose of the law enforcement that had gathered there, but in the perceived and the subsequent few days and hours that you're kind of moving around this vision, it's strictly law enforcement at this point. There does seem to be some government mainly in the form of like supervisor FBI types. In fact, you see this James Ormond, the lead FBI agent leading the response there. A lot of suits, a lot of the Colorado governors on hand to see what exactly happened and kind of see the site for himself. But apart from that, nothing that stands out to you as well,
Starting point is 00:30:25 but apart from that, nothing that stands out to you as well, more unusual than normal. Is there anything in the week's prior, anybody of note that comes through maybe Cross, for instance, as we know that he's somebody who's involved, but anybody who's not necessarily from Orpheus. Anything else? Yeah, you do see cross coming and going. Not frequently. Probably once or twice a week, he'll arrive in a, um, blacked out SUV with a driver. He will be dropped off. It looks like he's there to attend the meetings. And then once the meetings have concluded, he departs.
Starting point is 00:31:03 and then once the meetings have concluded, he departs. It appears. Yeah, he doesn't say anything in the outside, in the open, when he's not in a meeting, that a private conversation, he had on a phone, on premise. Not from what you can tell. Yeah, it appears strictly, it appears a lot of is that the meetings have had to do with funding. But the fact that Orpheus is kind of like what Abner had discovered before, that Orpheus is
Starting point is 00:31:33 hemorrhaging money through its operations, it is extra, and I don't think Abner actually would have passed this on anybody. So this is probably the first time you're hearing any of this, Koa, that Orpheus group is hemorrhaging money. It is not bringing in a profit. It takes on too much pro bono work and the cost of maintaining sleepers and maintaining training facilities and maintaining this building itself is astronomical. And it is only through benefactors like Madame Batu
Starting point is 00:32:05 and Mr. Cross that this place has kept a float. And it isn't so much as blatantly stated in these meetings, but the implication is that Mr. Cross very much has the board of directors for Rurfius by the proverbial testicles, but they will do exactly what he says and what he requests when he does so because he's keeping the money coming.
Starting point is 00:32:34 Okay. Anybody else have known anybody that is not a usual staff member? Go ahead and I'm gonna ask you to make another, staff member, go ahead and I'm going to ask you to make another, uh, let's go with perception plus a let's do alertness. No successes. Bomber. Oh Oh shit. Okay. Yeah, nothing, nothing unfortunately this stands out.
Starting point is 00:33:10 Okay. I- Koeh- Koeh is dead, but has Koeh ever witnessed something like what they saw at Orpheus headquarters, like in this vision? Have they ever witnessed anything like that before? I mean, they've seen horrible things, but have they seen active acts of blatant murder
Starting point is 00:33:29 not acts of murder. Yeah And you saw that and then if this is probably fucking with your ability just enough to make it tough to focus. I mean, you're seeing people that you worked with begging for their lives and you're seeing Tough to focus. I mean you're seeing people that you worked with baying for their lives and you're seeing their lives brutally ended both either by these active shooters or by the reapers Coming through with those sides that you almost met your end on Where did those reapers go afterwards? They just disappeared. They didn't go anywhere. Did they stay?
Starting point is 00:34:03 They as disappeared, they didn't go anywhere, did they stay? They... you follow them out and it appears they kind of set up and watch the proceedings with law enforcement responding, they kind of wait. It looks like to see in the fetches at their sides waiting to see if any stragglers make their way out, but eventually they just turn and become one with the shadows, darkening around the facility as the fires begin to die down. And there's no indication that they're being led or wrangles or controlled. If they were, it looks like whatever leash they may have been on was absolutely cut as soon as they arrived at Orpheus headquarters because the bloodbath that you saw had no rhyme, reason, or control to it. And now they're just on their own.
Starting point is 00:34:54 Potentially. Would it be uncalled for to, like, couldn't Acouas see any license plates on these cars or all these license plates completely blank or some kind of weird thing that goes nowhere Oh, that's a good question. You know, it's Without focusing more. It's almost like have you ever been in a dream where you've tried to read something and it doesn't make sense It's illegible. It's kind of like that. It's tough. I Mean, I'm just thinking like we need some kind of hard evidence to follow. Like we need a license plate.
Starting point is 00:35:26 We need a name. We need a logo. We need something. Would we be able to see how Kate got out? Like if she took a car or if she was almost like that, take a car. It looks like they did take a car. That was an parking garage. Can Coach tell what kind of car it was?
Starting point is 00:35:46 Yeah, I'd say one out. It's probably, we'll go with one of the orpheus vehicles. It's one of the sedans that was in the motor pool. Those have trackers in them, so maybe Vennia. And Kross never came to the site at any point after Orpheus' destruction within that month. Well, so we were only two days after the destruction. I know, but for both goes both ways forward and back. Oh, it does. Oh, good point.
Starting point is 00:36:16 Yeah, so I'm trying to see if there's anything in the future that happens or anybody that shows up. Good point. It gets very blurry and very nebulous, but you do not see him. However, I will say when you did see him arrive, he was showing up in SUVs with government plates. Okay. Okay. Okay. If I did want to track the Orpheus vehicle,
Starting point is 00:36:43 what would Levinia know that she'd have to have access to probably Orpheus computers or something, huh? Starting point is 01:23:34 One thing that stands out to you that is unsettling as hell is the fact that with all the people that have died now at this place, that there are not more spirits walking around. And you know full well from the vision, it's because that they were specifically reapers waiting for them to kill them again, and ensure they never left. As you, and I'm guessing you descend into the ruins and the rubble. Yeah. You pass through layers of rock and concrete and steel and rebar and down into the, into this smoking crater of what was once Orpheus headquarters heading towards the general area of where you know the computer room to be where the sub-levels are. And you are able to find the server room. It is, I mean, if you were living, there would have been no way for you to have even accessed this location. But even now as a spirit, it's hard to
Starting point is 01:24:39 even figure out where you are in the grand scheme of the rest of the building and even negotiate the rubble. There's not a lot here. But we also have on this level, let me check for you, pull them up. We've got the labs themselves, you've got the sleeper bays, you've got the labs themselves. You've got the sleeper bays. Starting point is 01:42:13 So we just had a visit from Koa 2.0, the doppelganger Koa. And yeah, more like negative 2.0. It's a point. And what was the plan next? And, Koeh, you were making a B-line for the sleeper base, right? Yeah, because that was where we were intending to go before we got interrupted. And we should just keep pressing forward. Looking at the sleeper base, the vast majority of it has been completely collapsed.
Starting point is 01:42:47 Like there is just mounds of rubble that have kind of descended and cascaded down onto the sleeper cradles. To the point where you can't even see most of the cradles, they are just completely buried. Those that you can see looking at the protective glass covering where the bodies would lay in rest while they were projecting. You can see those that have not been otherwise crushed by rubble have been zippered for the lack of better term with bullets. And there's just that appears they've just been completely raked with automatic gunfire. Let's see, I'm told you there's nothing for us here. There was something for us here.
Starting point is 01:43:38 Let's just go to the server room. No, we went to data already. That was research and development. Yep. That was the labs. Uh, the data vault is on the, is on the fourth sub level. Uh, and I believe I may have misspoke, I think I said it was on the third, but it's actually on the fourth. If Cross had all of the power in the room, essentially, and he was choking Orpheus till it ended, what service do you get in killing people and in the way like this. It's a destruction of a mentality more than a place, but you can break a spirit so much easier when you actually have those people broken right before you, not just destroy. There's no point in destroying. Why do tyrants keep people around? to have power over them, to subjugate them to it. So they didn't want that kind of power.
Starting point is 01:46:29 They wanted annihilations, the only thing I can think of, there wasn't any power to be gained from it, or they'd already gotten what they wanted, maybe. Unless we had something that could stop all of it entirely. Of what? Any counter-attack that next world or any of them had, we had something they couldn't recreate or had made. Starting point is 01:56:41 And I think at this point, we're pushing late afternoon early evening hours. As much as I want to pursue the leads I've gotten about cross and some of the other folks involved, and I'll share all the names that I research and found in connection with cross and these other organizations like the Next World. I think I got an anonymous tip that might be our best bet. A man named Virgil Lincoln who lives in Baltimore, Maryland, doing a quick search. It seems like he has a former member of Next World.
Starting point is 01:57:18 Maybe he's the defector. Maybe he has knowledge about these individuals. I'm sure he knows something about Project Flatline. Logan has said too much one too many times about people's doppelgangers, so they don't say anything, but they do immediately look at Nikoa.
