Starting point is 00:03:38 Speaking of learning things, I believe it is our very dear Caleb's turn to educate us on what happened last time with another beautiful recap, so Caleb, if you would be so kind. Sure, sure, sure, sure, sure. This isn't even for Orpheus anymore. I've just realized that if I don't get this shit out, I may never process this at all or I'll die. So the world is ending in the most low key way, and it's all because of government-sponsored corporate greed. So I feel like I should get points for prophecy
Starting point is 00:04:13 or something. I'm just saying it's a good time to be an artist who loves and I told you so. With the Orpheus gone and this massive terrorist free fall fall out starting to fill the room like mustard gas the group is Scramble or splitting or going through some form of really fucked up semi gay mitosis Team one is made up of these really hot horned up revenge balls that want to see the perpetrators bought brought to
Starting point is 00:04:42 Righteous justice and where their enemy spaces. And team 2 is the living leftovers of flesh that team 1 has decided falls directly under their protection. I sound ungrateful. I sound bitter. I know, but you should have been there watching your dead friends swear vengeance around a kitchen island like we were gearing up for war. They're dead sure but sometimes when the light is right there's a glow in all of their eyes that makes me convince they're more here than I ever could be. Some bizarre v9 engine that won't
Starting point is 00:05:20 quit for shit that keeps repelling them forward. I don't know what that is, but it's cosmic, it's beautiful. There's a power in the grudge that Lavanya can hold. Sometimes I worry that I won't have that when I'm past. I worry I'll be like AB, that I'll fade with nothing more to say, that there won't be fuel enough to continue on. At least me and the beanman will have some rest that way in the quiet corners of what comes next. Anyways, Vin went to the library and researched into the jack boot flavor of Orpheus and found some interesting leads from her old Matrix cosplay group. In a name, a virtual Lincoln called him Price of Admission.
Starting point is 00:06:08 My bet's on a snuff film. Me and the one and only Viv Acre went and snitched to my DEA guy on the situation to try and suss out whether we were going to end up on America's most wanted or if we had any chance of making it out alive. Good news is we do, at least for now. Kola and Logan went in on a full-ride scholarship to the crater left where Orpheus campus used to be
Starting point is 00:06:32 and just came back with more dead memories. The carnage Kola described when she came back was horrible. I couldn't imagine being in that building when it happened and I only know what she would tell us. I felt like she was holding back even more for out of her respect of the dead. But if you could believe that any more could have happened to those poor people.
Starting point is 00:06:56 But worse, they ran into evil co-a twirling mustache and all. It came with that same lead, this Virgil kid out, Baltimore. Just don't know why it helped us. What does it have to gain by giving us any lead at all? Mia, well, we all know where Mia went and from the look on her face when she came back, it seemed to have gone okay. She came back from her majesty with a week-long leash and the same warning I received. We came back together and decided that we needed to clear our names. And if we were going to do that, we'd have to have a damn good reason for the world to believe us. And then one thing, late night drive into Baltimore,
Starting point is 00:07:40 only on the way that familiar white noise kicked on to the radio and portended our death again. The traps set for us in Virgil. There's nowhere else we can go and in a week to make any sort of sense of what's going on to happen. What's going to happen to us? So what are we to do? We drive head first at it, unbothered by the consequences, unafraid of death. Knowing that anything that could have happened to us would just usher us into the next kind of happening.
Starting point is 00:08:13 Here's to having fuel enough for that journey too. I had a coffee, a croissant sandwich, one of those nasty fucking cliff bars and two salads. Collette. Absolutely amazing. As always, thank you Caleb. So with that, I believe when we last left off, we were actually beginning or already on our way into Baltimore proper. What do we do? That's a long
Starting point is 00:08:47 drive. So what's what kind of happens on the way over if anything? Cool. I believe I'm driving. I can't. I gotta be taking turns. Rotate into your turn. Yeah, yeah, it's a long drive, right? Yeah, it is. Yeah, Colorado out to Baltimore, which across the country. Yeah. It's like 26 hours or something like that. Thereabouts. That's right.
Starting point is 00:09:17 Yeah, I think the discussion was had to like let the, let the, let the spirits do most of the, you know, Jesus take the wheel, so to speak. Let them do the do most of the, you know, Jesus take the wheels, so to speak. And let them do the drive and while the livis still slept. But is there any, like, I wore any stops made was where any supplies picked up. What's the, yeah. Collette takes like 50 fucking bathroom breaks like

Starting point is 00:11:36 some way of tracking them down. Absolutely, yeah. We'll assume that you, at some point, stopped off at a best buy and picked up like a laptop with like a Wi-Fi buck or something, it's super easy to get access to those sorts of things now. Enough to get you up and running.
Starting point is 00:11:52 I mean, it's obviously not your typical, are we cool yet, set up, but it'll get the job done for the time being. Yes, he was indeed born in Baltimore, a veteran of the Marines, and obviously an employee of next world at this point. You do know he has a brother named Poet and there is a family address in West Baltimore.
Starting point is 00:13:34 West Baltimore, okay. Yeah, I'll let us know. I'll probably update the GPS to head there to the family location. Okay. He has a brother, poet. I can't say I've ever met a poet named poet. That's a baller, neither.

Starting point is 00:17:43 You could try to foreboat if you wanted to maybe. I think because especially now that you have an address you've got some information you can try to maybe get some insight into where you're headed. I'd give that to you. Yeah PC may see into the past of their immediate vicinity or into the future with relation to specific potential events So I'd say you got enough information to go off on this point You're not necessarily looking to the past more kind of what you're walking into That's empathy manipulation. So what are we focusing on? What are we thinking about?
Starting point is 00:18:51 What are we trying to glean insight into? Well, it would be a finding Virgil, right? Maybe just leaving what's up with him or like, we could be a little more into. Knowing exactly where he is would be helpful, but I'm, Lavini is particularly worried about, he's gonna be surrounded like. Yeah, there's going to be some kind of force
Starting point is 00:19:19 trying to get him before we do. Yeah, my thought is like, they are, maybe focusing on the trap too. like the trap portion of it. Yeah, it literally said it's a trap. Yeah, like what dangers of foot? Not just dangerous. Not just pursuing, yeah, in pursuing Virgil. If it's like a week, you said,
Starting point is 00:19:37 should you also like, is it possible for you to, oh, a day? I'm normally doing a day. Oh, okay, nevermind. We have a week to get. I'd like to do the forebow like when we're as close to lost in as we are, getting, love it.
Starting point is 00:19:55 Yeah. So some of the, it's all kind of not necessarily a blur, but it's like fast forwarding and rewinding and rewatching the same tape over and over again, but every time you hit play again after rewinding it, it's a different movie. It's very strange. It's a different outcome. You see, firstly, you know, You see explosions and a row house on fire. You see all of you standing in a room surrounded by men, everyone screaming at each other, some to calm down, some to get on the ground.
Starting point is 00:20:39 You see, you can practically smell the fear in the air at that point. You see bodies on the fear in the air at that point. You see bodies on the ground, not dissimilar from your vision prior to the attack on Orpheus. And you see smoke everywhere. You see a door off its hinges. You see windows broken and you see a team moving through the house, training their barrels on the bodies lying on the floor,
Starting point is 00:21:03 one of which is Collette's and then checking her two shots of the chest one to the head before moving on to the next. I have a question. Yes. How does Nikola look to everyone else during this foreboding? That's a good question. What would they say? I think if Nicole's foreboding, then they're probably
Starting point is 00:21:30 in the back row, the back is row. And they're just like sit cross-legged with their hands out on their lap. But I think they're just widely staring. And when Nicole uses their, though they have like all white in their eyes when they use for bowed, it turns all black. So it's just them kind of just blankly staring off and you probably, they're generally always in a very neutral disposition, but you can probably see they're like expression, like furrowing at places as they're reading through all of this. But it's just silence and just those bit of expressions on their face. Okay, cool.
Starting point is 00:22:17 I think this is just paying attention to that. And that's all centered around us pursuing Virgil. Correct, yeah. Most of it around like in that immediately of that house, which with little Google Street View action, you confirm is Virgil. Or at least the address on file for Virgil. Where we're heading.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Yeah. Or at least his family. always his family. Okay, that's all I can get from from that then I'll come out of it. Well, at least I know we're most likely walking into a trap if we go any further finding Virgil but we knew that anything what kind of trap like a government's coming after us trap or like
Starting point is 00:23:20 home alone booby trap that is very important more trap Home alone booby trap. Oh, that is very important More trap Mm also good Yeah, yeah More or less we just get our hands caught in the cookie jar essentially like mouse trap Sure mouse trap Well, that's one possibility, right? You don't always see the exact future.
Starting point is 00:23:47 Yes, but patterns, there's enough patterns there to just suggest that any pursuit towards that will lead to a similar outcome. Maybe we can divide and conquer. If we just watch the house see if anyone important comes out and then catch them somewhere else. That's one. I was thinking maybe if we can't bring ourselves to Virgil, we find a way to bring Virgil to us. And maybe we can trap him instead of the other way around. What if we run down his brother, the poet? Starting point is 00:24:29 Well, he is. We could get poet to call Virgil. I mean, maybe they're close. Maybe they, you know, are close enough that we can convince this guy to bring Virgil to us rather than, you know, Hunter Dennis. I'll make friends to make a friend. Yeah, I know it's not a strong suit in this group and I was not suggesting that we like We could just say for his protection or for us.
Starting point is 00:25:03 I mean, it's basically exactly what we would be doing i did think we were gonna just get that and not poet but use poet to kidnap virtually i don't have eyes on that we're already wanted that's not ideal i don't think it's a bad idea to lure him out what my main concern is is that whatever organization is on our heels the moment they see him step out, they're simply going to
Starting point is 00:25:26 arrest him and throw him in a van. Like, concern is we need to get to him before they get to him and it might require just being sloppy about it. Can you hijack him for a little bit? I suppose I could, yes. I suppose I could, yes. Could be. I know that's going to be a lot and a lot of power, but you could feed off me in a way. And if you just, they'd say grab homeboy and just walk him in. Yeah, I mean, you've got battery pack options.
Starting point is 00:26:01 Which to say, I mean, would it be the worst thing if we win in ghost? All of us that can, and then Mia just hangs is Getaway Driver, which I feel shitty for like just making you be outside of all the action because... I think now that I am basically out of commission, I am the default Getaway Driver at this point. We don't know exactly what is coming for us. There are people who can inhabit unused bodies and it poses a vulnerability if we just go in all at once. Well, we've also got to think that at Orpheus,
Starting point is 00:26:41 they were throwing reapers down, right? There's no telling that we're safer being ghosts than we are being before, right? Yeah, I think we gotta meet outside of the house. Just take him off our home turf somehow. We need to make contact with him then and get him out of the home. His brother, Poet Lincoln, makes the most sense
Starting point is 00:27:03 in terms of the convincing him urgently, someone that he trusts, someone that he knows. Even if it's just him saying that there isn't, if we can ask Poet to like stage an emergency, something that would just catch him off guard where he doesn't think he needs to roll with backup. I mean, speaking of inhabiting, I can inhabit his brother and give him a call. Yeah, that's exactly true. Call him to lunch. Just to make sure we get the tone right.
Starting point is 00:27:28 We don't know if they're close. Do we? We just know the name. We know the name. We know that we have a familial address, which means they either live together or they know each other well enough that they share an address of some kind.
Starting point is 00:27:42 Cola, do me a favor, roll perception plus alertness, just to see if you can glean some additional details from the visions you add. Okay, hold on. I'm trying to put something together. I like it. Find her. She's got only one success. With that, I'll at least tell you that,
Starting point is 00:28:12 because success still success. The one thing you remember seeing that stood out as odd to you is that there were sandbags in front of all the windows. I mean, he's, I don't know if we're going to be able to get him out of the house then if he's that, if he's acting that paranoid. That's, that's fair. Yeah, I'd be able to call him enough to make him complacent. We can establish trust with him, you know. You think I could do that? Is his brother or do we have to do that in person? I mean, Cohen, I can do a whale.
Starting point is 00:29:32 Might call him down a little bit. Although I don't know if we can whale that many people, if there's, like you said, if there's a bunch of them. Well, the... the... the... the... the if we can extract Virgil before any of this happens That's an option as well What's the fastest way in one of us walk through a wall another one blows the door or a Wall down and then another one drags him into a car, right? I mean What's more direct than that? I mean? I thought we were talking about not shows, not having shows of force. I thought we were just talking about being chill. What does it matter when your lives are on the line? We need this man to prove your innocence. I get that, but I don't think he's going to be super, you know, receptive
Starting point is 00:30:19 to anything we say if he, if we blow his house up. this is me talking I'm the king of like running in and doing dumb shit but in this instance I think it might be who of us. Ew I've never said be who. He was going to be nice. God I lost it because of the blue ball. I'm very proud of you. In the last of real maturity right there. It might be who wants to be nice. I think Logan's right. We can definitely try it and then have the blowing up of a wall and throwing him in a van
Starting point is 00:30:59 as a second option. Yeah. I'm still in that option. Please go back. I still, I like, and then if in worst case, the video just my puppet. My biggest concern is some of the tactics that have been previously used by whoever might be on at the end of our attack I guess. I'm connected to him because he's sure what might be fine. He
Starting point is 00:31:25 failed. He failed. Next one. Right. What I'm trying, what I'm trying to say is that how they had executed their attack is something that is not necessarily out of their wheelhouse when approaching us, meaning an inhibitor or an inhibitor on a building, keeping us from leaving things of those nature.
Starting point is 00:31:46 I think we would feel coached this more delicately, not have all of our eggs in one basket, not all of us going at one time. I think that's fair. I think we also gotta think that maybe it's not that he's being hunted by someone, but maybe this was all set up for us. I mean, the only, the two leads we got was from
Starting point is 00:32:09 mustache, coa, and from the internet. Anonymous from me. Yeah, so what if it was just planted, what if the other side of the sandbags is for us? I mean, it's something to consider. No, I'm thinking it's something we consider. No one to get into something we should. You can't like trace IP addresses or like back channel hack. I don't know anything about this stuff.

Starting point is 00:33:05 He's ghost, so we can assume the same tactics for sure, which means one will inhabit the house, one will probably try to inhabit Virgil, then they'll come in with their SWAT team, execute anyone they come across. Make a perception plus either alertness or awareness for me. Giver's higher. I've been running this game for how many sessions now, and I still don't understand
Starting point is 01:46:26 the diversity in alertness and awareness. I should probably read that. Okay, six. I don't know. Awareness to me is perception. Alertness is like when something's fine. That's right. Awareness is knowing that someone is playing baseball.
Starting point is 01:46:42 Next to you, alertness is telling that a baseball is flying towards your face. You know, I like that. I like that. I rolled five successes, but I also rolled one so four. Okay. It takes you a moment because it's dark on this street. There's not a lot of light. But eventually you see them. You count a group of four moving in one direction than another
Starting point is 01:47:16 group before, then four more, sorry. Three groups of four, so twelve. Okay. Math is hard. You see them moving and from what you can tell, one of them is dead in each group. So, okay. So, projecting at a minimum. So, all of them but one in each group. So nine of them are likely physical bodies, three of them are projectors. Correct. Okay. Like, you see them peeling off and you see some one group making its way up the front walk to the house and then one making its way around the side, some possibly making their way around the back and I'm so impossibly making the way around the back and looks like they're very quickly gonna have this building surrounded. What do you do?
Starting point is 01:49:09 As soon as I see them beginning to pale peel off, I drop through the floor, land in the middle of everyone. I don't care if they're still talking. We've got 12. They're surrounding us. Shit.
