Starting point is 00:00:00 If you want to pump your body and expand your First, we talk about Justin's sexual chocolate. Chocolate. Forget we talked about that. Yeah, sexual chocolate. Which led us right into STD, technically. I mean, that's a natural part. It was a smooth transition right there.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Then we give you some useful information on how to escape a submerged car. We talk about hacking autonomous cars, Christmas activities, our favorite Christmas movies, and Adam goes into depth with his testosterone replacement therapy update. He actually stopped taking testosterone and is trying to get his body to produce its own natural testosterone. I actually recommended to him cordiceps because in the context of low testosterone, it has been shown to raise testosterone.
Starting point is 00:01:06 Our sponsor for Sigmatic actually has some of the best processed Cortiseps you can find. Now, if you go to forSigmatic, that's the word for spelled, F-O-U-R, Sigmatic, S-I-G, M-A-T-I-C, dot com forward slash mind pump, and you enter the code mind pump without a space, you'll get a discount at checkout. We also talk about Dallas McCarvers autopsy. It's actually horrible what they found with his kidneys,
Starting point is 00:01:33 liver, and heart. And then we mentioned our other sponsor, Thrive Market Doug bodice. Sorry, I just think so. Our unboxing save me. Yeah, wait till you guys hear what we got. We got some cool stuff. There's some itchy stuff in there. We're eating insects. That's what I'm gonna say. Dude, wait till you guys hear what we got. We got some cool stuff. There's so much cheese stuff in there.
Starting point is 00:01:45 We're eating insects. That's what I'm gonna say. Oh, sorry, sorry. What? It's boiler alert. So here's our discount. If you go to thrivemarket.com, forward slash mind pump,
Starting point is 00:01:55 you'll get one month free membership, $20 off your first three orders of $49 and more, and free shipping. Then we get into the questions. The first question was, how important is it for athletes to hit their macros or to focus on a diet that keeps inflammation at a minimum? If you're an athlete and you're competing
Starting point is 00:02:15 in college or high school, believe it or not, actually paying attention to your nutrition will put you guarantee you're not caring about it right now. Yeah, you're not caring about it. You'll be light years ahead of your peers. The next question was, this particular individual, you know, very productive at night, they finish work late, then they wanna work out,
Starting point is 00:02:32 is it more important to work out and lose sleep? Or is it more important to get adequate sleep? The answer may surprise you. The next question was, what are the pros and cons of having a male versus female coach? Does having a male versus female coach? Does having a penis or vagina make you a better coach? Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Yeah. Anyway, next question was, what are our thoughts on transitioning into minimalist shoes? Besides looking stupid, do they have benefits? They actually do. And you'll be surprised by this one because our opinions have changed over the last two years. I like them. Now we do talk about Maps Prime Pro in this episode in relation to the minimalist shoes. Now Prime Pro is a correctional program. So what that means is if you have issues with your ankles,
Starting point is 00:03:16 your feet, your knees, your hips, your shoulders, your shoulder blades, your hands, your wrists, your neck, your spine, this program will help you assess what is causing the problem and will help you correct it. It's one of the only programs I know of that has that self-assessment tool and then has a prescription and it directs it based on your individual needs. Now we also have a bundle that combines that with Maps Prime which teaches you how to do your advanced warm-ups.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Now, if you warm up properly or if you prime properly before your workouts, you will get much more better or much more effective results from your workouts. I gotta speak correct English here, just by priming properly. You can get both those programs, Maps Prime and Maps Prime Pro in our prime bundle, and it discounts both of them I believe over 20% off for more information just go to mind pump media dot com dude. I'm having I'm having fun right now with what? If you body eat fun with my body. I have fun with my body every day. You want to have some fun with my but I'm having I'm having fun
Starting point is 00:04:24 eating I have fun with my body every day. You wanna have some fun with my butt? I'm having fun eating right now. Oh, just enjoying all the Christmas food or what? No, I mean, here's a thing, like, I did that, I did those two. You brought it in the bedroom. I did those two, what? Your food. My food in the bedroom?
Starting point is 00:04:39 Yeah, is that why? I've never done that actually. I know, that's never been a kid. I've never had sex with food. Right? Uh-huh. I tried one time with chocolate syrup. That was not good. You just put it in the chocolate syrup all over. Oh, I feel like that's something I feel like that's something you do like it at a hotel where you got to clean the shit up afterwards. I said a movie once Yeah, let's let's go for it. I think anybody who's trying to do the horrible idea. Yeah, I know I think anyone who's tried it. I'm sure I imagine to. Imagine the fucking... Too many different smells going on.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Imagine the poor maid who walks in. Let's just picture this. They see the bed, the sheets are all fucked up. Oh my God. And there's, and there's, and there's chocolate all over the fucking. She's a noose chocolate. It's gonna be mistaken for blood, right? It's a poop.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Yeah, or poop. Yeah, she has no idea. She has no idea. She's walking in. It's a storm, yeah, because you have to get close enough to it to realize it's not poop. Yeah, she has no idea. She has no idea. She's walking in like storm half. Yeah, because you have to get close enough to it to realize it's not poop. Yeah, lick it. Yeah, so at first you're looking back.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Yeah, it tastes a little bit. So I can just imagine like, we know, like the guy or girl like they open the room to clean it and then they just probably stare at it and it's like, they contemplate like, it's my job worth it. It's just quick. It's just quick today. Yeah, just fuck off. Is this really happening? No, so I'm in, so I did those two periods. I just quit. I just quit today. I just fuck off. Is this really happening?
Starting point is 00:05:46 No, so I'm in, so I did those two periods where I fasted for a couple days and then I took anti-microbials, anti-parasitic supplements and... No, I did it twice in a row. So, a parismart, right? That's the one I use. And then I did a particular diet and then now that I've done them both, I hate to say this, I don't wanna challenge the tummy gods. So I just wanna, just wanna, real quick say,
Starting point is 00:06:12 I will smite thee. I respect you, tummy gods. I'm not trying to talk shit, but I feel like I'm invincible. Yeah, now you've done it. Bro, I went to Cabo and I drank all kinds of fucking everything. I ate whatever. Everybody came back, everybody had mud butt.
Starting point is 00:06:32 I had nothing. No mud butt. Nothing. Everybody, even my, I always get mud butt. Even my family, even my cousin who can fucking eat like a billy goat and have no problems. Like I could digest a stainless steel spoon
Starting point is 00:06:46 if you had to meet it. And he even had the mud, but me, nothing at all. And I'm enjoying, I'm like, this is crazy. And what I mean by enjoying is I'm not eating a bunch of food that would normally bother me because I'm still apprehensive about that. So I'm not really doing that. What I am doing though is for the first time in a long time,
Starting point is 00:07:07 I can actually push my calories and not have problems and just get stronger. Dude, so stay away from... I'm getting bigger. The Amazonian river. What? Oh, why? Isn't there like a parasite that swims through P-hole?
Starting point is 00:07:21 It swims in your dick. Yeah, you didn't know that. That's a real thing thing that's a real deal That scares the hell out of me. Yeah, so you're in the in the Amazon Amazon. What is it the Nile? No, that's not the Nile. It's the Amazon. Oh just Amazon river. Yeah, where's the Nile? It's over in Egypt Yeah, why did I think the two were there? There you go. That was my geography I yeah, we're good professor. So, I know. I didn't know so. I skipped geometry.
Starting point is 00:07:46 So, yeah, you swimming on a tee. Damn it. It's these parasitic, like little thing that swim and then they attach to your, your, your, your wing and they crawl up inside your people. Oh my God. It's like the creepiest thing I've ever heard. It sounds like one of those alien movies, dude. That's scary. but it's real.
Starting point is 00:08:06 How do you get it out? I don't know. You see, I have a pee real hard. That was like hooks. So you can't like, you know what I mean? That's an area that I would never want anything inside of it. Right? You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:08:17 Isn't there, like no. It wasn't the old like test for, I think they taught us this in seventh grade or whatever. Like when they try to scare you with STDs, that you, the test you for Climidio, whatever, they put a Q-tip up your peole. I've heard that too. Is that a, is that real? Urban legends. Oh, no, they just, they just swab inside, bro.
Starting point is 00:08:40 They don't, you know, I didn't even the knowledge. I do. No, bro, they don't fucking stick it all in and they fucking swab at the end of it, dude. They don't put He knows. Yeah, I don't know. I've been able to knowledge it. I do know, brother. They don't fucking stick it all in. They fucking swab at the end of it, dude. They don't put anything in there. They put the Q-tip, like just in there in there. But I mean, you're talking about like a-
Starting point is 00:08:53 Then they grow it in like a Petri dish. No, then they, then they, I think they wipe it on like a fucking microscope fucking thing and then they go- Petri dish. Is that what it is? Is that his e-col called? I don't know. Sure. Yeah, they don't show you.
Starting point is 00:09:07 You did that whole thing? Of course I've had fucking tested for STD's. I got tested too, but I have anybody swab my dick. Oh, he just did like the book check. Like drop your pants. Drop your pants. Oh, it looks normal. No, you do the blood.
Starting point is 00:09:18 No crabs here. Yeah, you're fine. You do the blood, you know, the blood test and the, the, the, all the, you know, the doctor checks and all that stuff. Yeah. When they, when they do that. Remember the first time you did that test? Did you know, the best and the, the all the, you know, the doctor checks you and all that stuff. Yeah. When they, when they do that. Remember the first time you did that test? Did you guy, we asked for panic, right?
Starting point is 00:09:31 You know, all the time, it doesn't even matter. Yeah, it's just like, you just like immediately. Oh, 100%. You're like, oh my god, what if? Yeah. Dude, so my, my brother did his, he does it every, you know, he does it every year, whatever he's a single guy and he's actually acting.
Starting point is 00:09:46 So he's always, but he's very safe. He's in a first name basis, he's a planet parlor. So he's super safe, he's very safe. I subscribe to planet. He's not a bear back writer, he's very, very safe, right? But he did his normal test. And I guess they changed a part of it to where it talks about
Starting point is 00:10:05 this particular antibody that they're trying to find, that they're looking for, that they'll tell you that if you have HIV way before the old test will tell you. So there's an HIV, the original test of HIV, it would tell you, but you would have to be something like certain amount of weeks after you got exposed because your body would have to build up the virus. Well, they have this new test that looks for something that and it tells you much
Starting point is 00:10:26 quicker, right? So he gets the results and it doesn't say on the test, like negative or positive. It says, uh, see your doctor. It's that no, it says some. Yeah. I don't remember exactly what it said, but it was something like, uh, you know, lower than a particular amount or something like that. So he's like, what the fuck does that mean?
Starting point is 00:10:45 So and it's a Friday. So, doctor's office is closed. Oh, that's right. So this kid, dude, it cost me up, bro. It's like, it's Friday night. Sweating bulls. Bro, it's Friday night. It's, I don't know, 11 o'clock.
Starting point is 00:11:00 So I see my phone. I see my brother calling me 11 and I'm like, oh shit, what's going on? That's weird. So I answer the phone and he's like, did you see my text? I'm like, no, so I look through my text and he sends me all these all these like forums on this particular test. And the funny thing is none of these forums give you this definitive answer. They kind of do, but they kind of don't. You can almost misconstrue it. So he's sending me all these,
Starting point is 00:11:28 because he's obviously been doing research all night. Like he's been doing this shit since he first got the task. He came up for more, he's fucking sweating. So he's a rabbit hole. So he tells me and he's like, dude, what is this, what does this mean, dude? And I'm like, I have no idea. I've never heard of it before, which scares him because usually I know something,
Starting point is 00:11:41 right? So I'm like, I don't know. So he sends me a thing. So I'm reading what he sent me. And I'm like, no, dude, I'm like, you don't know. So he sends me a thing. So I'm reading what he sent me. And I'm like, no dude, I'm like, you're fine bro, there's nothing there or whatever. And he's like, just read my text. So I'm reading them. And I'm like, well, I said, let me do some more research
Starting point is 00:11:53 on my own, which is scared of you more. Because I just wanted to be sure, right? So I go and I do my research and I find out, obviously, he's all good. So I'm like, how long do I wait before I tell him? Because he's fucking sweated out all weekend. So I get back on the phone with him, right? I'm older brother, so I'm like, how long do I wait before I tell him? Cause he's fucking sweated out all weekend. So I get back on the phone with him, right? I'm on older brother, so I do.
Starting point is 00:12:09 I know, that's true. So it's good lesson for him. That's what you do. So I get on the phone with him, and he's like, what, he's like, what did you find? And I'm like, I'm like, tell me, I didn't say yesterday, like, this is the answer. I said, tell me the last time, like, you did something
Starting point is 00:12:24 that you think might have been risky. He's like, what? Why? I'm like, well, just tell me, tell me the last time, like you did something that you think might have been risky. He's like, what? Why? I'm like, well, just tell me, tell me what's happened. Like, what's going on? So we go into this like 15 minute conversation, the poor kid sweating his ass, I was like, I always wear a condom.
Starting point is 00:12:36 I never know this and that. And I'm like, I'm like, do you wear a condom and you get a blowjob? He's like, well, you know, not, no. And I'm like, well, you know, maybe if she had a cut in her mouth sometimes, and he's like, what are you talking about? Like, what's going on, dude? What's happening?
Starting point is 00:12:47 You're creating all these scenarios. And I'm like, I'm like, listen, I'm like, have you talked to mom and dad? And he's like, no, why would I talk to mom and dad? And I'm like, I'm just kidding, brother. Yeah. Fucking he was so angry. That's a hard attack. Oh, dude.
Starting point is 00:13:00 Dude, I got a crazy story. I got a crazy story. Because yesterday, I get home and yesterday Katrina and I actually headed home at a decent hour, right? So I think it was like 4.30 or 5 when we were supposed to be getting home and for us that's early. And so we message each other and I'm like, hey, did you leave work already? Yeah, I left work right now.
Starting point is 00:13:20 Okay, cool. I'm on my way home. So, you know, we house is decorated. Everything's set. We really haven't had a chance to like sit down, watch our Christmas movie that we watch, and we have our traditional shows that we watch our movies during this time of year. And so I'm thinking fire, dinner, all this stuff.
Starting point is 00:13:34 And she's, I'm at home, I'm gonna get there first. And you know, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, and then I look down, and I was surfing on the internet. So of course the time flew. I looked down a text message and she says I'm on the phone outside. And so she was she'd been out in front of her house for over an hour. I'm like, what the fuck? Oh, I just cut catching up with the red. And I said, what happened?
Starting point is 00:13:58 So her friend's sister died and drove off a levy and drowned. Trip on this. They say that she swears left, she swears right, she does that three or four times, they can tell by the tracks, and then she goes off into the water. She actually called 911. And the, the, while she was in the water. Yes. What?
Starting point is 00:14:28 Windows were all up and stuff, right? And she, and the 911 call, she's, she's talking to them. And I, and with their trying, they, they have, they're trying to put this all together. Like, what the fuck? Because she's telling them, she's, she's, she's almost calm. She's like, oh, I crashed my car and, you know, there's,
Starting point is 00:14:43 there's water up to my shin. So what they think is that the airbags deployed. And so she couldn't see out the windshield and she didn't realize that she was actually submerging. She just boom, crash, probably bumped her head all the way to the place, airbags deploy. And she's got a water up to her foot inside of her car. And so she calls 911 and she's telling him,
Starting point is 00:15:06 I'm an accident, I'm okay, this is that, but there's water up to my ankles. So they found her, she drowned. Oh my God, that's terrifying. And 30 feet down at the bottom. That's terrifying. Could you imagine how fucking... No, I don't want anything about it.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Dude, that's so terrifying, right? No, because I have kids. I immediately think about this. I have them with my kids. That's terrifying, man. Yikes. You know terrifying, right? No, because I have kids. I immediately think about it if I happen to my kids. That's terrifying, man. Yikes. You know what I mean? You know what's even crazier is that she was coherent,
Starting point is 00:15:31 she was able to call and the phone. On the phone and like, man, that time she'd been spent trying to get out of the car to swim up. Yeah. So you know what's scary about that is I watched the special long, right? I watched the special a long time ago on that, where if that happens to you,
Starting point is 00:15:47 people try to open the door, but they can't, to the pressure. So what you need to do is open your window, if you can't open your window, break it. That's the only way. Break it and swim out, because otherwise you'll go down with the, which by the way,
Starting point is 00:16:01 could be extremely hard too, because think the pressure on the other side, it's like you're punching a concrete wall. So they make these. Yeah, I know I have one of them, the little hammers, the little point. Yeah, it's a plastic, it's about this big. I got to buy one. Oh, you should, and you tap it, it'll shatter glass.
Starting point is 00:16:14 So all you'd have to do is go tap, and it goes right in the corner. Wow. Yeah, so it's, I think it's terrifying. I know, right away, I thought that too, because I was thinking like, I have a big fear. What I would do, but what if like,
Starting point is 00:16:26 like so if I was thinking, what if one of my cars went over and did that, what would I, how would I handle that? And you ride, I'm thinking, I would roll the window down, as I know I can't open the door, but what if the water comes in, you think it seeks in the doors,
Starting point is 00:16:38 it could fry the electric, the electric. That's what I'm saying, it's the big window. Yeah, so like all my doors are all electric, and stuff. Yeah, you can't roll it down. Right, so it's not going to be able to roll down. It's going to break it.
Starting point is 00:16:48 Right. You know, the other thing I was thinking, because we had talked forever about automated cars, autonomous cars. And how it's all going to be reliant on this infrastructure, this software system, and satellites, and all this communication, what happens when the communication breaks down and there's an object that doesn't recognize and then boom, you just like, you watch an off-road or you watch too much Transformers.
Starting point is 00:17:15 Dude, what? No, this really happened. This happened to... It's a test like that, but... Yeah, I never heard that. Yeah, there was a truck that was like a white truck and so it didn't recognize it. Yeah, because of the sun's glare.
Starting point is 00:17:26 I thought it was like part of the sky. I'm more worried about the computers learning how to teach each other. I mean, that's fucking, you can even remember when you're in your car. It's like real talk, Trains, Hormers, bro. That's just, that's just, that's just, Optimus Prime is fucking only 10 years away, man.
Starting point is 00:17:38 So that just happened. I don't remember. Who was it that created this AI computer? They had these AI computers and they were learning from each other? Yeah, we talked about this. And then they created their own language. It was a Facebook.
Starting point is 00:17:49 Yeah, nobody could understand what they're saying to each other, fuck that. Right, oh man. Imagine that they could send the car systems, the cars started doing that. Well, the other thing too is that you can, most cars today, you can hack into them and operate them.
Starting point is 00:18:01 A lot of cars, you can hack into them and operate them remotely and make them crash and do shit. Do you know what I'm saying of cars you can hack into them and operate them remotely and make them crash and do shit. Do you know what I'm saying? So somebody can hack it. Yeah. What? So if you're in a self driving car, I think you're making that. That was the other thing. No, no, that's my brought that up. Well, I mean, if you're in a self driving car. Yeah. I think you're trying to like, like my GMC, like someone's going to be like, well, actually, no, they can, they can, they can, you do on-star. Yeah, they can, they can, they can, they can, they can, they can, they can, they can, they can, they can, they can, they can, they can shut your engine off. They can operate your brakes and, and your gas many times.
Starting point is 00:18:27 Can they? Yep. So they can punch the gas. You can't do anything in your fuck. Really? Yeah. I don't think they can do that. I saw it on, uh, uh, uh, what is that? The born identity. Dude, we should look at it before I did anything. There's a lot of truth. That David, David. That's a good, man. David. Those waiting for like teaming with him. He's trying to come out right now. What do you do though?
Starting point is 00:18:47 Think about that. You have all these autonomous cars and some like foreign country or terrorist group, hacks into like a thousand of them. Just make some all crash. I heard this quote Elon Musk talking about robots. He was like talking, because like, you know how they're like, have you actually seen like what they're like the latest robots How they move and like how quick they can run and stuff now?
Starting point is 00:19:09 They're creepy bro. You say that's nothing like wait till the only way you can see him is with a strobe light And he's like good luck sleeping or something like that something quote like that. What did you say? Oh my god? That was like pure terror in my way tell you moving that fast. Yeah We're moving the speed of light like is that what he said you can only see it with a strobe light No, no, no physics would not allow it to move. Yeah, it's something like what do you But that's he said something like that because they're moving he's basically insane that like they're moving so fast That you can't you can't see him unless you have a strobe light on yeah, that'll be cool, huh? That will not be cool.
Starting point is 00:19:46 That will be cool, man, you're not robot wars. That shit'll happen for real soon. That's Will Smith, I robot all over again. Hey, have you guys, so you saying you did Christmas movies? Do you guys go to Christmas in the park? I don't do Christmas. At Los Gattis?
Starting point is 00:19:59 No, no. Downtown. Downtown San Jose. You know, with all the little animatronic, I stay away from downtown San Jose. Why? It's You know, with all the little animatronic, I stay away from downtown San Jose. Why? It's just not my vibes. What's wrong with it?
Starting point is 00:20:08 Oops, I'm not, I don't feel it. Why? New racists? Yeah. No, I don't like it. I don't like downtown San Jose. I feel like he's an elitist. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:18 No, that's why I moved to Santa Cruz, yeah. That's my place. So downtown Santa Cruz, then, huh? Yeah. That's a safe place, too. So, no, they have the animatronic, you know, little elves and shit and trees and you walk through and they have food trucks and hot cocoa
Starting point is 00:20:32 and it's a... Did you do it already? No, I'm going to night. Oh, you are. Yeah, I'm gonna take the kids tonight. I mean, if I had kids I would, but that's not, I mean, for me and Katrina, I'm like me. I bet she would like...
Starting point is 00:20:42 They have like an ice skating thing in the boardwalk. No, you should do it first. It's just cool off the trail. Yeah, I like to do cooler stuff. They like, do like a wagon ride or something like that. Like, that would like a ice skating thing. She would. You should do it first. It was cool off the channel. Yeah, I like to do cooler stuff. Do like a wagon ride or something like that. Like, that's cool. I guess. We're going to do a wagon ride.
Starting point is 00:20:51 Dude, lost gatos. Yeah. But what do they do? They just go around the town and they go back. Yeah, but it's cool though. You're in a horse and buggy dude and it's your drink and they give you servicoco and you get a blanket and it's a comfortable and you get it to yourself.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Is it a reindeer or a horse? It's a reindeer. Oh, it's a reindeer. Oh, I thought it was a horse, like it's a reindeer. It's a fly. Yeah, that sounds kinda cool. You got a picture for that. I lived in a row and camp. They have a train and everything.
Starting point is 00:21:14 Yeah. It goes down to the boardwalk. It's all lit up and stuff. So we've done that before. I haven't done that. Yeah, so what's it like? Real fun. It's just, I mean, you get to see through the red woods and you go all the way to the boardwalk. So it stops there and you can go there.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Now they actually have ice skating at the boardwalks. You can go do that and then come back. Dude, I want to do that. It's pretty rare. Then there's the, what is it over there in Lasca? I'll switch that park over there. Yeah, the sauna. I'm done that too. Yeah. Okay, so that's what the court. You just drive through it. Yeah, I used to do that the light. You know, I don't do that shit anymore. Yeah. If you're from Las Gatos, this is why I don't I don't fucking do that shit anymore. You got to wait like two hours in line with your car. Yeah. Yeah. Forget why? Let's do it. And the light shows pretty much pretty much. Now you have to get like a time frame where you pay for that you can You can only go at that time when we where grew up in Modesto, right, small town, there is a Christmas tree lane
Starting point is 00:22:08 and there is candy cane court and there are famous and it's just a neighborhood that is traditionally like gone over. They go crazy. Yeah, and it's a huge and the candy cane or the candy cane court, smaller, it's a court, right? But the Christmas tree lane is, you know, you're wrapping through four or five
Starting point is 00:22:26 different neighborhoods and everybody, like they're connecting, like, people's got trains going to other people's houses. And it's like 50 grand, you know, for that month, the lights over the top. But it's really cool to go through there and drive through the neighborhood and it's actually because it's small town.
Starting point is 00:22:40 So we used to, even when I first moved to Bay Area, we actually used to, for Christmas town, we'd drive back there to go watch all the lights over there. So I know that was a cool place there. I further some cool places in Sacramento. There's neighborhoods that I'll drive through with good lights. There's one in Willow, Glan, that's pretty nice.
Starting point is 00:22:53 They got, they do the lights over the trees and everything. We found one house, I don't remember what it was, but they did the whole lights were synced up with the music. Yeah, it's cool. So they did that with the nut cracker. And it was insanely awesome. Dude, the quality of decorations for holidays has gone so crazy.
Starting point is 00:23:11 It wasn't like that when I was a kid. No. When I was a kid, you had... It's like a competition. Yeah, when I was a kid, you had like two strings of light on your house and you're done. Today, like if I did that, my kids are like, sucks, dad. Like, where's the fricking...
Starting point is 00:23:23 Salade! Yeah, where's the robots and the fucking strobe lights too? I'm almost breaking my neck on the roof, like trying to put these shitty lights on. Yeah, exactly. So whatever. Whatever. Anyway, favorite Christmas movies.
Starting point is 00:23:35 R.S. Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey. That's a good one. You like L. I got one that crushes all those. I got one right, I'll blow them all away. With the Christmas story. Nope. Nope of those. Fresh is all those. I got one right, I'll blow them all away. With the Christmas story. Nope. Nope, nope, nope.
Starting point is 00:23:48 Die hard. Steve, why are you laughing? That's a fucking Christmas movie. Die hard one. Yes. That is a Christmas movie. It is a Christmas movie. And it's an actual movie I want to watch all the time.
Starting point is 00:24:00 Yeah, I do. I watch it around the time. It'll be playing on TV, SNT and I'll fuck it. For sure. Yeah, it plays every this Do you want a great movie that way great movie? It's like you're talking about a dude that doesn't because remember at the time You had all the action heroes like Sylvester Stallone job clapping and you had fucking what's his name Bruce Willis who doesn't look like that much of a big looks like a normal dude Yeah, but you know, it's funny like you that. Like this is it's not a Christmas movie,
Starting point is 00:24:25 but like it's always on during this time of the year. Uncle Buck. I always catch myself watching Uncle Buck. Oh, I love Uncle John can be so good. Yeah. So do you remember Uncle Buck? Yeah, I already told you remember when he blows and it doesn't and they do.
Starting point is 00:24:37 It's the shit out of that bug. Well, I didn't know when they go up to that cabin. Aren't they it's holiday season. I think it's around Christmas. I think that's the reason why I didn't. That's all reshoots the bear, right? And blow up the hell out of this. Oh, that's out the great outdoors.
Starting point is 00:24:49 Oh, that's not the same one ever. Oh, Uncle Buck. Uncle Buck's alone where he's, yeah, he's kind of coming in, he's the uncle, he's watching the kids. And the girl, the dude, fucker, or the guy. Yeah, he's coming this kid's shit out of the house. Who would have thought that John Candy
Starting point is 00:25:02 would have died early, man? That's weird. I love John. Yeah, I love that John Candy would have died early, man? That's weird. That sucks. I love John Candy. He was really, really funny. Anyway, I've been meaning to ask you, Adam, how, you know, you've already talked kind of briefly about it with the audience. And let me know if it's not OK if we don't want to. If it's OK.
Starting point is 00:25:18 Dad, don't air this. Shit. I know you've been off your TRT now for a little while. Yeah. About what? Six weeks? Yeah, it's been six weeks since I've been off your TRT now for a little while. Yeah. About what? Six weeks? Yeah, it's been six weeks since I've been a little over six since I've been completely off. And you're trying to boost your natural, you're trying to get your natural company.
Starting point is 00:25:32 Yeah, so this is the first time in the long list. What I did, and it was off of a recommendation that came from your client that recommended that I do a slow taper and then try and boost it naturally. So it's really been going on for about six months. So for about six months, I've been just lowering the dosage, lowering the dosage a little by little by little, and until just recently when I completely came up. And so I was down to like half a CC every two weeks. So that was like hardly anything that That was kind of keeping me there.
Starting point is 00:26:06 And I've recently completely came off of that. And what's it feel like? What are you feeling? It's a motherfucker. Yeah, it's a motherfucker. I mean, I had to have a conversation with Katrina at dinner the other night, and I told her I said, hey, you know,
Starting point is 00:26:18 because you're not one, here's the thing about you. And this is maybe a, this is a strength, but I think it's also a weakness. You don't complain. So it might be hard for people to know how rough you may be. You know what I mean? You might not show it like outwardly. No, I don't.
Starting point is 00:26:32 And I, and again, Katrina and I have an incredible relationship and we communicate really well. And you know, we were out having sushi. This was just like literally three or four nights ago. And I said, hey, you know, I wanted to talk to you about what's going on with me. And so I thought that she's like, Oh, she got all weird. Like something bad on the, no, I said, you know, I know everything. We're all good.
Starting point is 00:26:53 You know, I'm saying relationships, good. We're happy. Everything's going good for us and everything like that. But I'm like, you know, inside I'm fucked up right now. Like in, and I'm working through this whole process. And so, you know, she's, she's like, Oh, really? She's like, I didn't, you didn't seem like you're, I'm like, yeah, no, it so, you know, she's like, oh really? You didn't seem like you're, I'm like, yeah, no, it's depressing.
Starting point is 00:27:09 Like so, the depression is real. So, like, you know, you, those testosterone levels go from being high or normal or above normal. To non-existent, it's very depressing. I don't have a lot of motivation to train and do the thing, which I love to do. I always love the train. But even when I do, I can't even get into the rhythm like I get into when my testosterone phone, that aggression, that wanting to lift,
Starting point is 00:27:33 and to keep going and to push. It's just not there. And then you add in the fact that the sex drive is on the floor also, and I have a partner that wants to have sex every night, so I know that's going to put a stress on the relationship. So I was just very forward and communicated that with her every other day and just said, I'm not one to bitch and complain and pour me. It's like, this is all shit that I did to myself because of my early 20s. So I'm not definitely not someone to say pour me, but it is, I'm going through it.
Starting point is 00:28:03 And I'm working through it. So it's been a challenge. I ordered all the stuff that you sent over to me. Yeah, you're doing the Ashwaganda Tribulus, and then here's the cool thing. So because we're back with four-segmentic, they should be sending us some cordyceps. I would recommend also using cordyceps.
Starting point is 00:28:20 Because cordyceps in some animal studies have been shown to get the lighty cells, which are the cells and the testicles to produce testosterone. And the thing with test boosters, natural test boosters, is they do work in the context of low testosterone. So if you have normal testosterone, and you take them, the problem I can do anything for you.
Starting point is 00:28:38 Right, right. But because yours is so low, they may help accelerate the process. Because you did the whole, did you went with HCG and know that? Yeah, so I did HCG, Clomid and Novodex. And are you off all that now? Yeah, well, no, I actually still have another seven days of the Clomid and Novodex.
Starting point is 00:28:59 Oh, dude, you're gonna feel so much better when you go off that. Oh, really? Yes, because the Novodex, because remember, those are selective estrogen receptor modulators. So they attach to the estrogen receptor, and they're not inert. They still express a little bit, very minor activity.
Starting point is 00:29:16 And so they can actually give you estrogenic side effects and cause worse issues with libido and worse issues with emotions and stuff like that. Which I know this, because I remember when I used to use it to mitigate the increased levels of testosterone, if I were to boost my testosterone up, I'd always end up having to counter that with the Novodex, but then I'd also realize I always noticed that we'd kill my sex drive. Right. So, yeah, no, I'm looking forward to, so seven days left of that and then I'm off
Starting point is 00:29:46 completely and then for me, after that, it's like, okay, hopefully I start to feel a turn. When are you going to test your testosterone again to see what's happened? I was actually just telling Katrina we should give me appointments, I can go in there and go do my blood work because I've been meaning to, I wanted to share this process with everybody before. And I kind of did the very beginning, but obviously my pump's much bigger than what I was when I was first sharing all this journey when I was getting in shape. But I just want to, one, I want to do it for awareness for a lot of young guys that are in their 20s that, you know, want to fuck around with test
Starting point is 00:30:16 to australian and don't really realize what they potentially could be doing to themselves long term. And I really didn't fuck around that much. I wasn't like a juice head grown up, dude, it wasn't like that at all. I did a handful of fucking cycles in my early 20s, just the dosage, the protocol I did, and my body. I feel like just genetically some people do well within or find they don't get any side effects.
Starting point is 00:30:38 I got all the side effects. I got the guy now going on. I thought thinning the hair from it. I got the sex drive diving. I had all the side effects from it, but they didn't come to later. You know, while I was doing it, it was all seen fine. Of course.
Starting point is 00:30:52 It wasn't till after that. How, why are you wanting to go off as it, because you want to just see how what your body can do naturally? Well, there's a couple of reasons. Absolutely, yes. Every year I do this, so every year since I've been on TRT, I try and, because I feel like I learned something new about my body.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Like every year, I put something together like, oh wow, when I train and lift heavy, I notice that kind of naturally boosts me more. And I'm, oh, if I'm doing better with my sleep and things like that, I notice more. So every time I feel like I'm honing in on ways to better my natural testosterone levels. So I always like to try and say, because by no means do I want to have to take testosterone the rest of my life, you know,
Starting point is 00:31:30 obviously I've accepted that and said, okay, if I've got to take testosterone just to have a sex drive, then I will. But I've also, you know, I don't want to give up, you know, so every year I go through this little phase where, you know, I come all the way down and off and then I try and try different things to try and boost it naturally. And in the past, typically what ends up happening, and it always goes back to the sex drive thing. I end up going back on for just so I could keep my relationship and my sex life normal. But the other reason is too that I know that obviously if I'm taking the artificial testosterone, the likelihood of getting Katrina pregnant is little to none.
Starting point is 00:32:05 And hopefully in 2018, we'll be picking our house up. And then after that, we'll be family time if we're going to do that. So there's partially that also. If I'm going to really make a real attempt at even having a child, that would be something that I would need to do, start doing now, I'm gonna try it and mitigate that, right? And then like I said, just to naturally. Well, I appreciate you sharing this with the audience, because I think it's totally.
Starting point is 00:32:32 I think it's invaluable, invaluable information for the audience, both for people who live and people who, because like anything, like you go through a process and it just gives you a different perspective and then you can communicate it. Well, there's not much. Unfortunately, nobody really talks about it.
Starting point is 00:32:47 It's very much of a taboo subject for some reason still and I feel like there's a lot of people out there that are going through it. There is. It's going to ring, you know, to them for sure. You know, there's definitely a lot of people going through it. Not a lot of people are comfortable with talking about it. So, and this to me is what I've seen at least in my small circle of mince-phazee-can-body building world,
Starting point is 00:33:09 you know, a lot of these guys, once you go down that path, like it's your forever on that path of taking all that stuff, and the amount of testosterone I've seen, a lot of these guys taking is like, it's insane. It's insane, yeah, it's really insane.
Starting point is 00:33:22 I think to myself, like, fuck, I know how much I fucked myself up from my little cycles. I can't imagine what they're doing right now. You're pretty much signing up to be taking these high doses for a long, long time. Dude, it's crazy. Who is the bodybuilder that Dallas Carver? No, what's his name?
Starting point is 00:33:38 Yeah, yeah. Is that right now, Dallas Carver? Dallas Carver. Did you see his autopsy report? So, I read his autopsy report in large kidneys, disease liver, enlarged heart. The guy was in his 20s. Wow. They did a whole lot and they looked it and they basically broke down.
Starting point is 00:33:55 Like his fucking body was diseased. Wow. And what was he all on? Did they give a list? No, but he's a pro bodybuilder obviously. So he took, you know, he took everything, but he took his gear, right? It'd probably a decent amount because he's at that level, not to mention you combine that with the lifestyle of the amount of food that they eat and the ridiculous amounts of protein
Starting point is 00:34:15 they feed themselves, not stuff. In his 20s, dude, that's, dude, that's crazy. That's stuff that you see in people like it, your optimal body. You should not see that in someone else's. And I think Arnold talked about it a few times too. Like when he, you know, back when they were competing, like his cycles were nothing like they are now. And they always went off. Right.
Starting point is 00:34:35 They always went off. And now it's become so accepted, you know, because studies have came out that, hey, you could technically do this stuff and be okay. And there are some. So because of that, what do we do? We always take it to the extreme, you know. And so stuff and be okay. And there are some. So because of that, what do we do? We always take it to the extreme, you know? And so now it's okay.
Starting point is 00:34:48 And so everybody's taking a shit ton of that. I mean, I think most people would be blown away if they really knew how many people inside their gym were actually fucking around with. You just, you think you could tell, but you can't tell. I can't tell. Because somebody looks good about it. No, I wish people, like what I always try to communicate
Starting point is 00:35:06 to people is you'll be blown away at how far you can take your body with proper exercise programming and nutrition. Most people, the vast majority of people, if they just did that and they did it right, what works for their body the right way, right? Within a relatively short period of time, they would be satisfied. I don't think,'t think most people would-
Starting point is 00:35:25 Dude, let me take something right now. When you look at my before and afters, when I, the picture I took in my bathroom when I did the video first and said, here's Dave Warner, right? Yeah, a big transformation. Right, and a lot of people didn't believe me, but I don't give a fuck, and I'm saying,
Starting point is 00:35:39 well, you hopefully by now, I've even listened to Mind Pump for long enough, I would be completely transparent with this. I was on TST, I was on TRT then. The fat picture is me. Oh right. I'm saying, and I was working out inconsistently. I'm saying my diet was off.
Starting point is 00:35:52 And my diet was off. And the only thing that switched was the way I trained the way I dieted is what got me into shape. I didn't increase my testosterone levels until I became a pro. I dabbled with it one time in an amateur show. I got docked for points for being too big and then I never went back up to that dosage
Starting point is 00:36:07 until I got into the professional level where I could be bigger. But yeah, it's, you would be surprised at how amazing you can look if you do all those right things and you don't have to take antibiotics and you would be surprised at if you didn't do those right things and took antibiotics, how you wouldn't look good.
Starting point is 00:36:23 And satisfied. Yeah, it might be. Dude, I had a guy I worked with years ago who took grams a week. And if you walked in right now, looking the way he did then, none of you would even guess that the guy lifted weights.
Starting point is 00:36:36 It was incredible, the amount of, all that was happening was just getting guy-know-one hair loss. He was getting, no, because his programming was shit and he ate like absolute garbage. But, well, you know, we got the cordiceps coming soon from four sigmatic. Okay, so you got me doing the other Oshwaganda tribulus tongue cat. Now do I have to do the Oshwaganda by itself or can I just drink the green juice?
Starting point is 00:36:54 Because I like enjoy drinking the green juice. It's got it in there already. I would I would add it to it. Oh wow. Yeah, I would add to it Just for now and then we're gonna cycle you around with some of these things. And then we'll add the cordiceps and see if we can't speed up the process a little bit with some natural supplements. What do you got there, Doug? Bring on the juiced up, or a box to stop the burger. Oh, more presents.
Starting point is 00:37:16 Yeah, this is my favorite thing to do now. Dude, what's in the box? What's in the box, Doug? What's the calories though for that whole thing? The whole bag is roughly 600 something calories.
Starting point is 00:38:11 Crunchy critters. Wow, it's not too bad. 600 calorie for 20 gram protein. What's awesome. It, I mean, most of the stuff in there, it's all really nice. And it's bugs, you know what I mean? Care is about bugs.
Starting point is 00:38:21 Nobody's out there. Yeah, cool. What's next, Doug? Pick it for bugs. Okay, next we have these grazed beef sticks, which are grass fed beef sticks. Don't give them to Justin. Don't give them to us.
Starting point is 00:38:32 No, you can share that. Now we're fucked. I get a couple of these. Oh, I love those beef sticks. Oh, I get those sometimes at a whole food set. And I'll try to mark it, I had those. Yeah. Oh, those are good, okay.
Starting point is 00:38:42 Grazed beef sticks. And then we have a couple of more cash shoes for the studio. Oh, thank you, Doug We imagine if Doug was really our dad Awesome. That would be like We be the best kid so we have a shared bathroom with CrossFit We're gonna contribute some Dr. Bronner's four-in-one peppermint organic sugar soap Wow So nice of us peppermint soap peppermint soap that that's what I like

Alright, our first question is from ASAP Bob. Is it more important for athletes to hit their macro count or focus on a diet that keeps inflammation to a minimum? So this is one of those either or well, no, I don't I don't think it's either or I think you say like Do you think it's more important for an athlete or like a normal compared to like a normal person who's probably trying to just be getting shape and
Starting point is 00:40:59 And he also brings in and it talks about inflammation So I don't I don't think it's more important for an athlete to track their macros. In fact, if there's anybody who could probably get away with loosely tracking them, how many athletes do you guys met? I've had a ton of athletes. Never tracked them out. Yeah, they eat where the fuck they want.
Starting point is 00:41:15 They're terrible with their nutrition. Yeah, they're the most part. They're burning so much, they're not concerned about, I'm telling that to give the meat sticks that add to Justin. I can't do that. I'm sitting here. Is that a bug one, two two or is it a normal one? Oh, can I have a normal? I'm gonna have one of those look no, come on. We're running for a pod
Starting point is 00:41:29 so what? Jesus why can't you be so nice? Everybody knows that? So no, it's a tickler. Yeah, whatever. We're gonna piss off the one new person. So, so we don't normally eat on the fucking side. Sorry, we're so professional. Let me get back on track.
Starting point is 00:41:40 So this is an interesting question because what is a diet that keeps inflammation at a minimum? That is different from person to person. Some people would say a low carbohydrate, high fat, moderate protein diet will keep inflammation low. And some studies will show that that's actually true. Other people will say it's a vegan diet that will keep inflammation low. And some studies will show that that's true. The bottom line is if you have an intolerance
Starting point is 00:42:08 to particular types of foods or if particular macro counts don't work well for your gut, they're gonna cause inflammation regardless of the food quality or anything like that. So you can even eat the best food quality, but if your body doesn't work well with a high fat low low carb type diet, and you may get more inflammation in the same as true for vegan diet.
Starting point is 00:42:29 So, in terms of what's more important or, you know, nutrition is extremely important. It's the other half of the equation. Now, I don't subscribe to the whole nutrition is 80% of your success in training is 20%. I think it's 50-50. I think they're both extremely important. If you're an athlete, you need to have good training, good exercise, probably. I think what's hard with an athlete is that,
Starting point is 00:42:52 if you could have a, you have too energy-based. Well, I think of two different scenarios, right? You have an athlete who is taking the, they're tracking his macros, right? So that person who's tracking his macros, sure he can keep inflammation down They're gonna be a little bit leaner. They may be able to build some more muscle because they're on top of all the stuff But then the person who doesn't track whatsoever
Starting point is 00:43:12 It takes that same energy that that person put into tracking macros He puts or she puts into Perfecting their skill and playing the sport more or doing it more that person in in sport life is going to care That's gonna carry over and benefit them more than that person who's doing that. Now, in a perfect world, you do both, right? I tell you what though, let's say you're training a high school or college athlete.
Starting point is 00:43:34 Where do you think if you were coaching them, right? Let's say they're in college, they've got the whole strength training program and everything like that going on. Where do you think you'd be able to give them the most edge with their diet or what they're trying? Yeah, only because everybody's collecting it. Yeah, and to be honest, going through the process of it,
Starting point is 00:43:53 like, I mean, I was able to get a scholarship to play and with that, we basically were allowed to go to the cafeteria and eat, and so that was like my option because otherwise I had to go get a job and pay to outside to go get food elsewhere, right? It becomes like, for a lot of athletes, after you did that, they stopped that whole program, right? They stopped.
Starting point is 00:44:15 They're losing money on the... They're losing money on the... Dude, not me. You should have seen the other beasts that, so I know it should have fronted me. Trust me. But yeah, like that, honestly, it was because it's so demanding, like refueling was like the high priority.
Starting point is 00:44:32 Like it was just like how much can I refeed and recover in order to then survive sort of the next grueling practice that you know, you have to kind of endure. What were your go-to meals back then? I mean, with cafeterias, you barely get any protein. It was so frustrating. It's always carbs on it. Yeah, it was terrible, man.
Starting point is 00:44:52 It was like so much starchy shit that like, dude, if I was to do it all over again, I mean, my diet would look completely different and you know, very heavy. If I did get like a lot of the carbohydrates, obviously most would be, you know, very heavy. If I did get like a lot of the carbohydrates, obviously most would be, you know, from vegetables and, you know, like maybe more like potatoes and things like that, I have to go starch, but.
Starting point is 00:45:11 I think you're right, so I think that if we were to, if we were to look at a college kid, then for sure. Only because you would separate them from the pack. Well, yeah, I mean, even, there's gonna be a college kid, I'm even a kid, right? Anybody who's college or younger, now I think that's a lot of what separates some of the pros, right?
Starting point is 00:45:28 Some of the pros, not only did you have the genetics, not only did you have the work ethic, but then on top of that too, you're doing all the little things, right? Well, because it's a performance enhancement too. So like where I was trying to get to is if, you know, so there's survival mode, right? And that's one portion of it,
Starting point is 00:45:43 like getting through the week and the grilling practice and whatnot, but, you know, leading up into actual, like, timing out my energy leading up to the game. So actually restricting what I'm eating significantly and then reintroducing and then like adding like good carbohydrates to fuel me going into the game.
Starting point is 00:46:02 Like, I only did that a handful of times and when I did, I'll tell you what, man, I was like on point. I was sharp, and I was explosive, and I moved well, and it was a different kind of an energy. So it definitely makes it different. Yeah, this is the thing, like, if you're an athlete, and you're competing in a sport, in high school or college, focus on your nutrition,
Starting point is 00:46:24 you will be way ahead of your peers. I mean, everybody's working out at that point. Everybody's training for their sport. Of course, you can have good exercise programming. That'll be better than the next guy, but you're not going to be working out and competing against guys who aren't working out, like everybody's working out. When it comes to nutrition, most of your peers give fuck all. They do nothing. They don't care about it at all. It's literally, peers give fuck all. They do nothing.
Starting point is 00:46:45 They don't care about it at all. It's literally, you're in college, you're drinking. You're drinking, you're stuffing your face. So if you pay some attention to your nutrition, yeah, it's between that and sleep. Oh, what a great point. Absolutely great point. Yeah, you get good sleep and eat right.
Starting point is 00:47:00 And you're on a whole nother level. Everybody else is not doing that at all. Nothing. yeah. Next question is from Kohn J. I seem to be more productive at night and I usually finish work late. Is working out after midnight and getting less sleep better than skipping a workout?
Starting point is 00:47:19 So, sounds like it's a toss up, right? Yeah, it's like Robin Peter to pay Paul. Right, you know, here's your thing, like you gotta, you have your base fundamentals that you need for your health. And then there's things that are on top of that that are still important but less important. Now on the bottom you have,
Starting point is 00:47:37 are you getting enough water? Are you eating, you know, are you getting enough nutrients because you don't want any nutrient deficiencies? Do you have shelter? And are you getting enough nutrients because you don't want any nutrient deficiencies, do you have shelter, and are you getting enough sleep? That's actually there. Sleep is so important that they'll do studies on people and they'll restrict them of sleep,
Starting point is 00:47:53 and we can measure within a day reductions in cognitive performance, we can measure within a day hormonal changes, we can show, in fact, if you restrict someone from sleeping for something like, like 24 hours a long. You know, unpack that so people understand too, that most people can't put that together. This is literally, there's not a lot of things
Starting point is 00:48:13 that are like that. We can go without water for days. We can go without food for days. Like, you can miss a workout and still perform great. You miss one night of sleep, and you are fundamentally affecting everything in a big way. Even if you think you feel good. And every day that goes on beyond that perform great. You miss one night of sleep and you are fundamentally affecting everything in a big way. Even if you think you feel good. And every day that goes on beyond that is
Starting point is 00:48:29 just worse, right? And that's an extreme analogy because this person obviously isn't not sleeping at all. But you know, think about it. If you deprive yourself an hour or two there, you deprive yourself another hour or two, like that all adds up, you know? Yeah, the problem with sleep with humans is that we can function on basic levels, pretty okay with restricted sleep and so that we fool ourselves into thinking like that we're okay, like, oh, I can get by, I'm good with six hours sleep.
Starting point is 00:48:58 I would just continually do this. Yeah, and then we feed ourselves caffeine and all that stuff and I'm okay, I'm okay, I'm okay. When in fact, you're not and they and again, this is this is pretty settled in established science now of course the amount of sleep that you need can vary between individuals Quality of sleep is also very important. So it's not just that you're sleeping for eight hours or whatever that you actually have quality sleep But no, I would not miss sleep for work workout unless it was a small amount and it was rare. I simply wouldn't do it. Now, ideally in this situation, you would do both. So, ideally, what you would do is you would be, you would prioritize sleep and your workout and schedule it and structure it so that you can do both of them. If that means you have a shorter workout, then so be it.
Starting point is 00:49:47 If it means that you work even more productively so you can finish early, then so be it. But that would be the ideal situation is to not miss either one. But if you absolutely have to pick sleep winds, do nothing. Yeah, nothing's above that. Yeah, sleep winds more than it's giving. So it's giving a workout is not going to be detrimental to you as much as not sleeping is going to be. No, you know, often I used to I would push myself to the point where I get sick and I miss
Starting point is 00:50:17 so much sleep. I get. And I know this is against the the motivation message that's out there, right? Like it's just, oh, do it. You just got to do it. You're going to gotta add more work. Yeah. And I do think that there is some validity at, right?
Starting point is 00:50:30 There is some that, okay, you know what? If you're somebody who makes excuses all the time and you're lazy and you don't do things like that, then like, okay, I told myself I was gonna get started. Yes, I didn't sleep well last night. That's just an excuse. I'm going to the gym no matter what. Like, I understand that.
Starting point is 00:50:45 I could get that, but that's not something you would want to make as a regular habit. That's going on. I saw a video and I know it's just, it was kind of tongue in cheek and it was this guy doing little micro workouts. You know, and so he was like in his office and stretchy pants and, you know,
Starting point is 00:51:00 doing these micro workouts and getting it in, but like, you have to assess like where to get it in during the day, like when you're active and you're up and you're, you know, there's a way that you can, you can do it even if it's only 10 minutes, like period-wise, like we do our trigger session and something like that, where, you know, at least you're, you're getting activity out of your muscles and you're, you're getting stimulus, you know, for the meantime until your schedule allows it. You know, it's funny. It wasn't that long ago where if you told an executive or an entrepreneur
Starting point is 00:51:32 that working out would enhance their performance at work that they'd laugh at you. Not, it wasn't that long ago. Like if you went up to a business person, an executive, a hard, charging type A individual, and you said to them, hey, listen, if you devote three hours a week to exercise, three days a week, so if you go to the gym, three days a week, you're gonna perform better at work, they would have said, that's stupid because I'm not gonna waste an hour working out
Starting point is 00:51:56 when I can spend that hour working. Now, today, you'll hardly have any arguments. Today, pretty much everybody agrees that, if you exercise, you'll produce better at work than if you don't. And part of this was, I credit Tony Robbins. Tony Robbins, the famous motivational speaker, made it cool, or at least help people understand that fitness was part of your overall performance.
Starting point is 00:52:22 And he would talk about this all the time, how his exercise regime makes him a more effective entrepreneur and then all of a sudden people start realizing like, hey, and studies will prove this, if you exercise, you're more productive at work, you're less sick days, you're just gonna be a better, more productive person. Now when you say sleep does the same thing, people argue with you, which is funny because it's more important than your work. Which is interesting, I was gonna say, because like's more important than your work, which is interesting. I was going to say because like, you know, he came in with that angle.
Starting point is 00:52:49 Now, all you see in all these entrepreneurs magazines and everything is who's getting up the earliest, you know, and it's like this competitive thing to this is that is what's funny. Who's getting up super early and going to be the most productive as shit. It's a shit. Yeah. It's a, it's a martyr, it's the whole martyr, you know, mentality.
Starting point is 00:53:08 So yeah, I mean, and by the way, sleeping too much is bad too. So, you know, of course. You know, because that could signify depression, it can signify health issues. So we're not telling you like go and crash out and sleep 10 hours every night. But don't skimp on your sleep.
Starting point is 00:53:23 If you're a productive person with work, if you're an entrepreneur, getting adequate sleep and getting quality sleep will make you far more effective at what you're trying to do. It will not take away from what you're trying to do. So although you may think to yourself, you know, you may be sitting at work, you may sit at home and thinking yourself, okay, I can either go to bed now or I can spend another hour working, which one's going to be more productive for me. You may think that that hour working is more productive and it may be in the short term,
Starting point is 00:53:54 but definitely not in the medium or long term. So aim for the sleep, it's one of the most important things you could do for not just your health but your productivity. Amy E. Jolly. What are the pros and cons of having a male versus female coach for a woman? could do for not just your health but your productivity. Amy E. Jolly. What are the pros and cons of having a male versus female coach for a woman? This is a good question.
Starting point is 00:54:11 You know, it's a good question because in, there's a few, there's a few things that you do or few professions that I can think of where that's still a question that they'll ask the consumer. Yeah. Like there's two things I can think of, massage and training, where you will actually ask the client, do you prefer a female or male?
Starting point is 00:54:31 Almost no other job. Would you ask a good point? I'm trying to think of another situation where I've been asked, do you want a male or a female? Yeah, you're not going to be like, call a plumber and they'll be like, hey, do you want a man or one or two? Yeah, it's just interesting.
Starting point is 00:54:42 They would think it's apparently their true love sex. I love that you use that analogy though because it's one of the things that used to drive me crazy and we used to get it all the time in the gym. And we used to get it all the time on the show too. Like why don't you guys bring a female host on there? It's like it doesn't make sense to me.
Starting point is 00:54:57 Like that's not the right statement. Why don't you bring another qualified person to talk? Regardless of the gender. Regardless of the gender. Like it doesn't, and so I don't know why we, I think it's such a sexist thing to think that way, to think that like male or female, I do think that I think for training purposes,
Starting point is 00:55:15 a female version of myself is better than me. So, and that's just because I think that the ability to be empathetic and... Probably because the consumer may connect. Right, so I mean they that the ability to be empathetic and probably because the consumer may Connect right so I mean they beat there. They're more empathetic. They they will connect probably better I mean if all things are equal right like our skill set. She's got the exact same as identical Yeah, she's identical. She's a female. I'm a male differences vagina or penis right that's the only difference But because of that she's she now has traits that I think are beneficial for sales, for being a trainer, for things like that,
Starting point is 00:55:50 for also too, for like understanding somebody who's going through struggles too, as she's getting trained. So it's like, I think that women have a better job at doing that than men do. So if you have all these, all things equal, I think a well, here's the thing. Here's the thing, if you're a female consumer, this is just my experience in the
Starting point is 00:56:09 gyms, right? If you're a female consumer, you will prefer male or female or neither or whatever. You'll just say it doesn't matter. If you're a male, rarely, it is a guy, say he wants a female coach. And this, true, unless he's creeping a little. I've almost never, I've almost never had a man, you know, by training it. Well, let's talk about what, let's talk about why that is. He can go ego. Well, yes, that and there's, there's some, there is some truth to this that, you know, I definitely had signed people up who bought personal training.
Starting point is 00:56:41 And you know, I've got this cute little fiery personal trainer who works for me and she's But she's 105 pounds and to lift a hundred pound dumbbell and handed to him before he does a chest press or spot him on a bench for 315 He's concerned as she is too sure, you know saying she's not but but it's not a good match But that's that's that's rare because the average client that buys right? Jim is it out of shape You know person right and most of my female trainers were stronger than yeah, then the guys that would hire them You know, but so it's usually it's believe it or not
Starting point is 00:57:14 This is more an issue with the male consumer male consumers typically don't want to know Well, I used to see it. I think mainly it was the concern from like, especially some of the married women that would come in that were worried that they're, because the jealous asshole type of guy that's gonna have a problem with all this time you're spending with this male trainer, I actually get that a lot like I get thrilled. I think at the end of that,
Starting point is 00:57:40 at the end of the day, pros, cons, wives, I mean, it really comes down to, if you have the two, like I said, that are exactly this, or you have a male, female, if one of them is just the slightest bit more qualified, that makes them better. You know what I'm saying? Whether it be that be experience, whether it be education, whether it be communication, whether it be program design, whether it be understanding of nutrition, if they have an edge on the other person, I don't give a fuck what sex it is, that's the better trainer.
Starting point is 00:58:03 I think it's really, it's a personality thing. More than anything. Absolutely. If you vibe well with somebody regardless. Well, this is what I did for 10 years. For 10 years, I, you know, I was one of traffic most of the guests that came in and bought personal training. They met me first before they met their personal trainer.
Starting point is 00:58:19 And my job was to know my staff so well that I want, by meeting somebody for five minutes. You guys will jail. Right. I could say this guy's gonna be great for Justin or this girl's gonna be great for this. And sometimes it was the opposite sex and sometimes it's the same sex. Never though. Was that like a factor like, oh, because this is a female, I'm gonna give this a female. I never thought like that. I always thought like, oh, wow, they have a story. And I know Melanie, she had this as a child and so she's gonna connect really well with her and they're gonna be able to share that.
Starting point is 00:58:47 That's a great idea. Had nothing to do with her sex, it has more to do with her story and her character. That's way more impactful. It's funny that people would get jealous to like husbands because I'd see that too, like oh my, you know, I have to hire a female because my husband and my boyfriend doesn't want me to working with a male trainer,
Starting point is 00:59:01 which is like, what happened? We're helping you out. Well, part of it is the industry itself. Let's be real. Well, I mean, seven personal trainers. Remember that stat I posted for you guys? 72% of trainers sleep with their clients. Was it that?
Starting point is 00:59:15 72% sleep with some other clients? Yeah, that's terrible. That's, yeah, that's the true stat. I just cared every wife right now that I knew too that I worked with. I was like, really? Dude, so I had a buddy who owned a gym, who had a female trainer,
Starting point is 00:59:30 who used to sleep with her female clients. And they were married women. She was like, she was like, he's like an awesome movie. Dude, he's gonna say, it sounds like something I watched on Netflix. Bro, he would tell me he's like, you had to get away with your Netflix.
Starting point is 00:59:41 He got rid of her because he found out about all this stuff. And he's like, it's crazy because some of these women were, I would assign them to this other female trainer because their boyfriends or husbands didn't want them working with a male trainer. And then of course, she would shark them. Yeah, and she would fucking shark them. So he had to fire her. Oh, that's hilarious.
Starting point is 00:59:58 How crazy. That's hilarious. Is that? No, it doesn't matter. Here's a deal. There are no pros and cons other than the ones you make up in your own head. Right. Pick the one that you gel with the best that's got the best qualifications.
Starting point is 01:00:11 And don't worry about whether or not they have a penis or vagina. Yeah. Next question is from Siggy 66. Hey, Siggy. What are your thoughts on trigon? Sizzling into minimalist shoes. I often have knee pain whenever I wear fixed-sold shoes, which I think causes a whole host of issues
Starting point is 01:00:29 throughout my body with all the connective tissue. So I wanted this question because it's probably been, it's been a minute, three, 400 episodes since we've even brought up minimalist shoes. And I'll tell you that my opinion on them has evolved and changed. Totally. minimal issues and I'll tell you that my opinion on them has evolved and changed. Totally. Yeah. So I definitely, uh, when they first came out, you know, I've never been like, Oh, here we go. Yeah. They're fucking too. She just want to see your fucking weird ass toes everywhere I go. Right. So I was super anti them. Um, but there's definitely a place for it.
Starting point is 01:01:06 And I think if you know that, and for sure was one of these people who I had poor connection to my feet, I couldn't wiggle my toes well, my ankle pronated on both sides, it was excessive on the right side. I mean, so I just, I'd maze, well not even had fucking feet, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:01:21 Like I'm just, I'm all ankles. I'm all ankles, no feet, you know, not even connected to them. And I now practice, I don't wear had fucking feet. Saying like, I'm all ankles. I'm all ankles, no feet, not even connected to them. And I now practice, I don't wear shoes like this, but I most certainly walk around barefoot all the time now. And our studio, I train, I was training barefoot yesterday. Like that has become a staple thing for me. So before that, and if you're aware of that with yourself, you're somebody who's probably disconnected from his feet
Starting point is 01:01:46 and you know that, and it could be causing pain everywhere else. Yeah, no, I'm a fan of that. Now, that being said, if you just switch into minimal issues, there's a process. And you expect, excellent, to have, excellent, like, is you'll still pronate. You're fucked. Yeah, the recruitment patterns are still there.
Starting point is 01:02:02 Yeah, so if you, if your feet tend to pronate and you wear shoes that correct that and you wear big padding on your shoes and you think, oh, I'm gonna go in a minimal shoes and it's gonna fix my ankle and knee problems, you're gonna make, they're actually gonna make them worse because you didn't fix the problem. You just went into a less supportive shoe
Starting point is 01:02:18 for a lot more stress to that. Yeah, it is a slow process. I remember when, so when this first got popular, what was that book? It was a book that came out where this runner wrote about how he traveled the different parts of the world and there was that tribe in Mexico that runs since their kid. Then there's the Kenyans who run Barefoot and he filmed these tribes and stuff of people where in some cases, you know, people in their 70s and 80s were still running
Starting point is 01:02:45 like 10 miles a day with no problems. And he was shocked that they had no knee problems, no back problems, but they all ran barefoot. And so what he did is he filmed these people running. And what he noticed was the way that you run when you're barefoot is different than the way the gates totally different. The gates very different.
Starting point is 01:03:01 You strike with the four foot first because the foot and the ankle Actually act like a massive shock absorber in the body When you're running with big thick padded shoes You take it out you actually hit heel first and you're taught to hit heel you're a lot more forward in your posture Your posture change everything changes. So he said oh shit We need to be running barefoot and then that spurred this movement where you had all these runners All of a sudden through way the running shoes and like anything in the fitness industry
Starting point is 01:03:31 There's some truth to it and then we take something and we we bastardized it They threw away the running shoes people went barefoot and then everybody had major problems and their soleus and their ankles and their feet and their hips and their knees and their backs because we grew up wearing a sole. They didn't transition. Like it's a slow transition. So if you're going to go from thick padded, you know, type of shoes, supportive shoes, you got to learn how to do foot exercises, do them all the time. Get yourself to the point where you can connect your feet then you can strengthen the archers. This is all prime pro, right? Prime pro. Prime pro gets deep into all this and I've shared some stuff on YouTube.
Starting point is 01:04:12 I've shared some stuff on my, this has been a big deal for me. So this is, you know, I went from being somebody who had really, really poor connection. I think I'm pretty good. Like I can train, I can do a very deep squat, loaded as heavy as I could wish shoes on now, I can do that barefoot. Just a year ago, I couldn't do that. A year ago, I would have to get that kind of depth to be that connected to not pronate, I would have to be all strapped up and everything. So there's a lot of muscle and connective tissue on your feet. And I think that we have just like ignored that fact for so long.
Starting point is 01:04:42 I would think it's like a flipper. Yeah. This is just like exactly. Yeah. This is just a board that fact for so long. We think it's like a flipper. Yeah. It's like, this is just like, exactly. Yeah. This is just a board that I'm moving in space. It's like, no, like it's, you're stabilizing constantly from like, oh, so many different directions. I think it's so important though to know what you said, so I can't, you just got to reiterate that.
Starting point is 01:05:00 It's not the shoes aren't what's going to fix the issues because if you've already trained yourself to be in shoes for so many years. What you have, yeah, work on it. Yeah, for sure the issues are still there. So I think that it's, you know what it reminds me of is like telling somebody about how I feel about chiropractors too. Like if you go see a chiroprate and you just get adjusted and then you go back. You feel better for me.
Starting point is 01:05:21 Yeah, you're going to go right back to your same patterns and then your body's going to be in the same position again. Well, the feet in the same position again. Well, the feet are the same thing. If you're not doing the corrective work with you actually putting it on something like that and challenging with your shoes, that's not it. So here's my recommendation. If you want to switch into minimalist shoes, get yourself enrolled in Maps Prime Pro or
Starting point is 01:05:41 some other kind of program that has elements that focus on strengthening the feet, the toes and the ankles. Start training your feet on a regular basis. Ramp yourself up. Do it slowly over time to where you start to realize. By the way, sorry, in a review game, that you doing this wearing minimal issues is less important than the work because you could wear chucks or wear normal shoes and put all the work in and you'll fix more problems
Starting point is 01:06:09 with your feet than you will by switching over to minimal issues. That's something you have to keep in mind is that. No, this is everything. The minimal issues are not, okay, so the minimal, so let me, let me continue and I'll tell you what the minimal issues are for. Do the exercises on a regular basis, strengthen your feet, get them better and more connected over a long period of time. Start walking barefoot at home. Now with the minimal the shoes will do after you've done this for a while, like six months to a year,
Starting point is 01:06:35 is you're gonna do less damage. Because if you're doing all these exercises and you're strengthening your feet and getting them connected, and then you go put on those big, thick, supportive shoes. Now you're kind of fighting what you've done with your feet in terms of correcting them because now you're wearing these thick shoes. So what minimal shoes do is they minimize the damage or the poor recruitment patterns that a big shoe or a maximalist shoe would normally do. And that's why you wear minimalist shoes. Not because they're superior to the thick big shoes
Starting point is 01:07:05 but because they will help minimize the damage that shoes actually. Well when you're connected all the way to the ground like that, you can at least for me, I could feel when I would deviate. So like I would notice if I was going to the restroom and I would see my ankles would, you know, I'm thinking about peeing, I'm not thinking about how I'm standing and also now it's seen it. Yeah, I see my boom, my ankle pronate. And when you're feet, your toes are on the ground and you can feel that, it's a lot easier to see and feel. When you're inside of a shoe, it's really tough to see that.
Starting point is 01:07:34 You look down, your sneakers are your left, your right one look exactly the same. You know what I'm saying? They don't look like you can't see it. You don't see unless you have an excessive, if you have a really bad, which by the way, if you're somebody who has, if you look at the inside of your shoes And it's all smashed like hand corners. Yeah, worn out inside or oh, man, that's really bad Like you're pronating really bad. Now what are the benefits of doing this besides the fact that you now you get to wear minimal Shoes the benefits are better movement better movement in your exercises better walking better health of your ankles, your knees, your hips,
Starting point is 01:08:05 your low back, your core, better muscle activation when you work out. It stems all the way up your entire body. All the way up the entire body. It is super worth it. And it's actually, there's a few things that, Adam Justin and myself have been blown away by since we started Mind Pump.
Starting point is 01:08:23 Because when we started Mind Pump, we'd already been doing this for a long time. So, you know, at this point, rarely do you do something really fucking shake the foundation of what you understand. Well, fitness, this was one of them. Yeah, well, that's why I wanted to talk about it. I didn't realize just how much of an impact
Starting point is 01:08:38 strengthening my feet and ankles would have on everything. You didn't get any emphasis in anything of the sort of a case in your hands. It's not sexy that we've gone. It's not sexy. It's not sexy. The footwork that I have to do is so lame and tedious, I get why nobody markets to
Starting point is 01:08:53 disgusting. Nobody talks about it. Nobody wants to do it because it is. But I'll tell you what, 30 years of my life, I didn't do anything for my feet and my ankles. Nothing. And like that's for sure a staple prime, that prime movement that I do before
Starting point is 01:09:07 is get all my ankles and my feet all connected again and it makes a huge difference. And then once you've put the working, because it was a long road for the first six months to a year for me, now it's just making sure I stay on it. You know, making sure that I'm staying on and I'm staying connected, I'm doing the barefoot stuff or if you get the minimal issues,
Starting point is 01:09:23 think about the minimal issues. The only thing I don't like about that. Rugly? Yes. Yeah, man. I'm gonna connected, I'm doing the barefoot stuff or if you get the minimal issues, think about the minimal issues, the only thing I don't like about that. Yeah, I'm gonna show you guys. Some of them out there, yeah, some of them out there. Some of them don't have the toes. Yeah, just have the ones. I like it. But they have the wide toe box.
Starting point is 01:09:35 So it's still kind of like weird. It's like a big ol' like a clip. Yeah, I didn't bet. The ones I used to have, they would shred. Well, I feel like chucks are really close to being right there. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? I stick with chess. Here's what, here's the people who will benefit most
Starting point is 01:09:48 from working on their feet and ankles are women that wear high heels a lot. Oh, of course. You, I mean, you're talking about a crazy horrible recruitment pattern that you develop from wearing heels all day long. I have my aunt, so my aunt is a professional in the banking industry.
Starting point is 01:10:02 She's very, very good at what she does. She always dresses very professional, obviously, and has worn heels every day for work for, I don't know, 25 years or so, right? She, if she walks around barefoot, she gets, she gets plantar fasciatus, and she gets issues in her ankles, from walking barefoot,
Starting point is 01:10:20 because her foot has just a custom to be elevated. It's, she's so, her body is accustomed to a custom to this freaking horrible and she's got an incredible anterior pelvic tilt causes back pain and so I told her you know try walking back you know barefoot and she sends me a text and she's like oh my god I walked barefoot yesterday my feet are killing me my ankles and I'm like oh so much pain I have to scale it like I have to get you to go to like just a shorter heels right first and then slowly progress you out of it so So there you go.
