Angie's list is now Angie, and we've heard a lot of theories about why.
I thought it was an eco-move.
For your worst, guess paper.
It was so you could say it faster.
No way.
It's to be more iconic.
Must be a tech thing.
But those aren't quite right.
It's because now you can compare up front prices, book a service instantly, and even get
your project handled from start to finish.
Sounds easy.
It is.
And it makes us so much more than just a list.

to be David Bowie's neighbor?

Did you know that Sir Roger Moore, who famously portrayed James Bond in seven films,
had a dream job that wasn't acting.
While you're listening, be sure to search for and subscribe to a life lived on Apple podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts. Do it now. I'm so excited. It's a big responsibility being an
icon. People have expectations of you. Your worth is constantly tested. And what do you do when
you become an icon?
It's not something you can put on your CV or your business card. There's no icon handbook
to guide you. You can't survey people and ask how your performance is.
Icons are made overnight and without warning. If you ask them how they feel about being an
icon, they wouldn't have a clue what you're talking about.
Welcome to a life lift. I'm Stephanie O'Coupnick.
He just was one of those people that whatever he did, he wanted to do it as best as he could.
He was a good painter. He wrote well.
Roger grew up in Southwest London, the son of a policeman. His father also dabbled in
amateur dramatics and magic. So Roger always had an appreciation for the arts, but acting was not his dream.
He wanted to be a cartoonist, and his father tried to help him get a leg up into the industry.
He was a very talented sketch artist.
This is Gareth Owen, Sir Roger's personal assistant and close friend.
He said that his father helped getting this job as a junior animator and he said that involved really making the tea and
You know getting the sandwiches from the bakery down the road and taking film to the processors, you know taking film to the labs
And he got fired because there were a couple of things first of all he discovered that by
Taking the film on the tube rather than going in a taxi. He could save money
Now the thing was you you weren't allowed to take film on the tube rather than going in a taxi he could save money now the thing was you
you weren't allowed to take film on the tube because it was nitrate and explosive so they gave him
money for a taxi but he never took a taxi he always took the tube and pocketed the difference
and after about three or four weeks of course had quite a few pounds profit in his pocket
so they discovered that and weren't very happy and they they also sent him off to make the tea one day.
And I think there was a leaky tap or something in the kitchen and he blew the whole thing
up.
So it was sort of a combination of a couple of things and they said, you know, we think
you better go.
You're going to give me another bell on it. Living Let Die was the first of seven legendary bond films Sir Roger Moore would star in.
Filming in New Orleans and Jamaica, he wanted to keep his family close.
It was around the time of Trick or Treat and for some reason there had been a spat of
these awful people, you know, putting razor blades in apples and just doing hot stupid things
so that when we came back to the hotel room with all these bags of sweets and things, dad
wouldn't let us touch anything because he said, you know, I want to make sure everything's fine.
I mean, what, he was like chomping through all our cookies and sweets. You know, this is
this one's all right. Yes, no, this one's okay. Yeah. Like, anyway, no, there were no apples with razor blades in them, but he had a really wicked sweet tooth.
Film sets would become a second home to Roger, and the crew is extended family.
If there was ever a soda siphon on set, the cast would look sort of quite scared when they knew
he was on set and there was a soda siphon.. And the crew and you know, when they finished the take, he'd get the soda siren squared everybody. But he knew they couldn't
get him back because they were moving on to another take and he had to be immaculate in his outfit
in his costume. So he knew he could get them but they couldn't get him. You know, you can't touch
me on the star. Roger Moore became synonymous with 007 with a hefty
repertoire of film and television under his belt. He couldn't leave the house without being stopped.
Walking down the street, it would always be us, the kids that would get annoyed when people would
stop and say, oh, what do you want to do with your order? I think, come on, dad, come on. And he would
always stop, always sign an autograph,
even in a restaurant, if somebody came over,
can we take a picture, of course, not a problem?
And I remember he turned around to a very good friend of ours.
And he said, you know, it's these people that put me here.
He'd be surprised that cabbies wouldn't like charging.
So he'd leave them a tip that was larger
than the bloody fat. Sir Rogers portrayal of James Bond would come to a close with a view
to a kill in 1985. He was the oldest and longest reigning James Bond, and he would continue
to act over the next 30 years. Hey, Prime Members, you can listen to Morvid, early and ad-free
