My favorite murder? A quick murder? A quick favorite murder? No. Murder. Murder. My quickie murders? Murder mini? Murder mini. Did you get that all? Dustin? No. I was like, I hope he's recording. Me making up 18 things and then Karen was spitting out one fat one. That's the old writer's room trick that I learned. That's good. Just don't keep spewing shit out. Well, it's basically you use everybody else's
Starting point is 00:01:14 ideas to be like, good button. I love it. I wasn't helping you. I just took all your help. I love it. Okay. Well, then this is murder mini for a thing of my favorite murder. That's Karen. I'm Georgia. We're going to read you a couple things. Yay. Off your stuff. Hi. You guys are great. We'll do it super quick. You can do this while you're at lunch at work. You know, you can scram it in really fast. You're taking a pee at work. Yeah. When you run to the bathroom, you can listen to four murder stories. Wash your hands, please. Please. There's so many germs going around this season, everybody. Don't get murdered by germs. That's a public source. Did you hear that? Someone's screaming outside of me. Someone's getting murdered.
Starting point is 00:01:56 Real quick also, if you go to feralaudio.com and click on the Amazon banner before you buy your shit off Amazon, we get a little bonus and we really appreciate it and we don't know what all the weird shit you buy. Like if you buy, if you buy like duct tape and a shovel, you like to bury a body, we won't even know. Yeah. That's your private business, but you buying it through our banner gives us money and feral audio money and maybe enables us to make even a higher quality, better researched product for you. No, never. I can't do homework. Okay. Do you want to go first or do you want me to go first? You can go first. Okay. So, I, so this week our theme was hiding in plain sight. So I went to our, my favorite murder
Starting point is 00:02:40 podcast Facebook group and asked people with their favorite hiding in plain murder, plain murder, hiding in plain sight stuff was someone wrote basically any doctor or nurse murder that kills multiple people before anyone catches on. Yes. And then they, someone said that they love that they are called angels of death because that's the coolest name. And then another one wrote, BTK is definitely my favorite. It worked for ADT and would install security systems in the homes of people who were scared of BTK also had a wife and kids and was a scout leader. He's like irony murder, like the guy putting in your security system. It's fucking smart, man. It's quite something. Oh, you want me to do one more and then you read a murder. Okay. So someone wrote Ian Huntley.
Starting point is 00:03:24 He was a school caretaker that murdered two 10 year old girls and there's a video that they added of him being interviewed on the TV talking about how devastating it was to the community that someone was murdering girls. It's him fucking speaking. Is he British? Yes. Yeah, we've seen that. I think so. It's fucked up. That's crazy. Also, that makes me think of, of course, our friend Ted Bundy, who because he was good looking and he was very charming, very few people suspected him. Did we talk about this and rule the crime writer worked with him and he would walk her to her car at night when they lived in Seattle and was like, Ann, you have to be careful. There's somebody's out there murdering people. Did she ever ask him why he never killed her?
Starting point is 00:04:11 Well, he had a very, very specific type. It was young, like college age women with brunette hair that parted down the middle. I did that in junior high because I was so obsessed with Ted Bundy and I wanted to look like this murder. What is wrong with little Georgia? Well, you were, you know, kind of like dancing around on the macabre is a very like teen thing to do where it's like, how dare I? I'll do it anyway. Dad, fuck you. It's fun. It is fun. That's how I felt about it. I was always like, I check out the Amityville horror book from my grammar school library and there was a nun named Sister Rita Rose who was truly like probably 90 and she still wore a habit like old school nun and she would get so mad that I was checking out
Starting point is 00:04:54 Amityville horror. Why do you have it? You should ban the book then. I know. It was in our school library. I was just like, this is the only decent book in here, lady. Okay. This is from Sarah D. Hello, Georgia and Karen. I love your podcast. I always feel dumb reading the compliments at the beginning, but I'm gonna do it. You're both beautiful and you're wonderful people. I love your podcast. You're both hilarious. My sister introduced me to it as we both have always been into true crime and murder stories. I love the dichotomy of being amused and laughing while also being terrified that we do too. I'm trying to not to be self-conscious about what that says about me. This is my local murder story. I have to admit I picked this email because I was just
Starting point is 00:05:36 scanning quickly and the fact that she used the word dichotomy in the first paragraph made me pick this. She's smart. Yeah. And I love a nice $10 word. Okay. I grew up in Wilsonville, Oregon. This took place in Oregon City, Oregon as a teenager. All of these Portland suburbs felt connected and close. It was 2001. I was 19 when I first heard of Ashley Pond missing. It was presumed she ran away. She was 12 years old. She was on her way to a bus stop outside her apartment complex and was never seen again. Two months later, her best friend Miranda Gettis went missing as well. She just ran away at 12. She went missing. At 12. Yeah. I'm gonna head to the big city later days. Try to make it on my own. Yeah. So two months later, her best friend Miranda Gettis
Starting point is 00:06:19 went missing as well. The last time her mom saw her, she was walking out of the same apartment complex where they also lived heading towards the same bus stop that Ashley went missing on the way to. The local news exploded with coverage of the missing girls. I remember hearing initially, they thought perhaps Miranda had run away to join Ashley wherever she was. Bye. How convenient. Why don't you take the day off? Go to Applebee's and celebrate you solving something. Sure. That was sarcastic. Take the day off. Because we're talking about the cops. I get it. Bulletin boards lined every main road in my town and all the adjoining towns with Ashley and Miranda's photos. The news interviewed their family. What happened, as I remember,
Starting point is 00:07:01 was that 12 year old Ashley accused her mom's boyfriend, Ward Weaver, the third of rape. It's always a boyfriend. Ward Weaver had a 12 year old daughter who was good friends with both Ashley and Miranda, scared of going to prison and being a general disgusting prick. He raped and murdered her. His daughter? That'll show him. Holy shit. Okay. Ward Weaver then enlisted his teenage son to help him dig a giant hole in his backyard where he placed Ashley's body, buried her, then covered the grave with concrete. He told his friends and reporters that it was a plot for his new hot tub. Miranda went to Ward Weaver's house looking for her friend. It was theorized later that he lured her there with promises of seeing Ashley. Ward Weaver then
Starting point is 00:07:49 kidnapped, raped, and murdered Miranda as well. A few more months went by and Ward Weaver attempted to rape his son Francis's girlfriend. His son Francis's girlfriend. His son Francis's girlfriend, his son called the police and ended up turning his dad in for the attempted rape and the rape and murders of Ashley and Miranda. When the cops searched his home, they found Ashley under the concrete slab and Miranda was found in a box in the garage. Local news later showed that when they were interviewing Ward Weaver, he led the interviewer intentionally into the garage and stood in front of the freezer where he stored Miranda while he talked to the reporter. He also walked her out and across the concrete slab arrogantly taunting them. There is also footage of him talking gleefully
Starting point is 00:08:38 about the slumber parties these girls would have with his daughter. Fun facts. This is underneath that. I love this girl. Fun facts. Ward Weaver is the third Ward Weaver second. His father is also in prison in California for murder. Francis Weaver, who turned his father in back in the day, is now also in prison for murder. Of course he is. It was later discovered that Ward Weaver was not even Francis's biological father. He contributes this news to his downward spiral that landed him in prison for killing someone in a drug deal gone wrong. Wow man, some fucking families. That's Sarah D. That was a really good email. Well written, unbelievable. I also think other people have written to us about this exact murder. That's a fact. I mean, I just can't imagine
Starting point is 00:09:27 being in that town while these people are disappearing and girls, little girls and they ran away. They ran away. If you disappear on your way to a bus stop, you didn't run away and you're 12. I think that, yeah, that concept of runaways needs to thoroughly be looked into. I think it's going away. I think the runaway thing is going away. Also, I know we talked about this. A bunch of people had tweeted to us, Samantha Bee just did an amazing piece on Full Frontal about untested rape kits. Oh, there's so many. And I just retweeted it on our Twitter page, but it's supposed to be an amazing monologue that she does about it. I want to just, I want to just volunteer to help test those kits. Get a degree. Is there an at home testing kit?
Starting point is 00:10:22 Okay, one, let's see, one more, a couple more on this. Dr. Kermit Gosnell, a female, quote, wellness gynecologist in Philadelphia, who was discovered to have not only been terminating pregnancies unwillingly, but also allowing underqualified staff to perform medical tasks, including anesthesia and abortions. What? Here's the fun part. Over 30 jars of fetal feet were found in his office. Wait. Wait, a female, well, I get it. I thought Dr. Kermit was a female wellness gynecologist, but he is a female wellness gynecologist. And then hold on, let me read one more. What makes a person a murderer? Are they born to kill or are they made to kill? I'm Candace DeLong, and on my new podcast, Killer Psyche Daily, I share a quick 10-minute
Starting point is 00:11:12 rundown every weekday on the motivations and behaviors of the criminal masterminds, psychopaths, and cold-blooded killers you hear about in the news. I have decades of experience as a psychiatric nurse, FBI agent, and criminal profiler. Starting point is 00:12:01 Let's see. Mary Jane Fonder, when old women attack this person, she thought a lady was having an affair with her pastor, whom she most definitely had a crush on. So she shot her all caps in the church office. Oh. Yep. Pretty fucked up. Nice. We've got an H.H. Holmes going on. Beautiful. He's a legend. If you haven't read the book, The Devil in the White City, please read it. I just heard that Leonardo DiCaprio's company bought the rights to make a movie about it. They think he'll be a great H.H. Holmes. Yeah, right. Get him a nice curly mustache like somebody had admitted, like some kind of mixologist. Can I do one more? Because I actually was almost going to do this case for our episode is when one Neda White, she did case
Starting point is 00:12:54 studies. She murdered nine of her children and they kept saying it was SIDS. I think it was nine of her kids and then one of her adopted kids died of the same heart defect that they were saying that these kids kept dying of. If it's not your biological child and they're dying from this rare heart defect, it's fucking murder, clearly. Did it say where that, where she lived, where that took place? No, no. But there's an episode of autopsy where they talk about this. Because my mom worked at Kaiser San Rafael, California. And there was a woman who was bringing her children in. And after it happened to her second child, she brought one into the emergency room. It's so sick. We don't know what's wrong. Oh my God. Oh my God. The child, she's there for like four days and then
Starting point is 00:13:40 the child dies. And then a year later, her new infant, same thing happens. The child dies. Then, and that time they start looking into it. And she was feeding the children milk with ground glass in it because she had munch housings by proxy, which is the disease that you have when you need other people to be sick so you get the sympathy. Just get men chousin and fucking kill yourself. Right. Just do them. Don't do the by proxy. Yeah. But it's about their such insane narcissist that it's they love sympathy so much. It's fascinating that that you just need to be the center of attention that much. Like what it's just different parts of our brain could just get a little overgrown or some strange cell floats through, gets stuck and suddenly you are a total
Starting point is 00:14:29 lunatic. Or you have these these experiences as a child that reroute your your neuro your neurons and so you think that these certain things are okay. I think those are the same people who write horrible comments on YouTube on YouTube. Those awful fucking people. No, that's just their teen year old boys that are that are home alone and they don't know what else to do with them. But they were frustrations. Should we should that be our mini murder murder mini? Yeah. Was it mini enough? I think so. How long was that? Oh, that's not that many. Almost a maxi. Well, maxi dress or a mini skirt or a maxi pad. So yeah, join the my favorite murder group on Facebook and you can talk about this with other people. There's a lot of comments and then email us
Starting point is 00:15:16 your hometown murders at my favorite murder Gmail and follow us on Twitter at my fav murder. And we love you. And we love you. Stay. Stay sexy.
